"Hush-a-bye m'baby, slumber time is comin' soon rest your head upon my breast while Mammy hums a tune the sandman is callin' where shadows are fallin' while the soft breezes sigh as in days long gone by!"
Way down in Missouri, where I heard this melody when I was a little boy upon my Mammy's knee the old-folks were hummin' and the banjos were strummin' so sweet and low!
Strum, strum, strum, strum strum! Seems I hear those banjos playin' once again Hmmm, hum, hmmm! That same old plaintive phrase!
Way down in Missouri, where I heard this melody when I was a little boy upon my Mammy's knee the old-folks were hummin' and the banjos were strummin' so sweet and low!

Come on take my hand come on little stranger The spirits are angry stay away from danger This is insanity this could be the end This is insanity farewell my friend

Meet me in the graveyard we'll walk among the dead On a midnight odyssey riding in my head
I'm not your enemy girl, i'm your friend Come with me on a journey on a journey to the end
In the garden of serenity in the garden of serenity In the garden of serenity in the garden of serenity
Love Makes You Crazy Composer(s): Mike Batt Performer(s): Mike Batt
I was reading in a history book before the seventh war
They used to have a thing that they called love that we don't have any more I don't know the feeling but I'm told it was an evil thing
It used to make you crazy and fall down no one knows what it could bring Loves makes you crazy loves makes you cry Love made them crazy in days gone by Loves makes you crazy - that's what they say Loves made them crazy in the olden days I must have seized the body and the mind like strong disease
Another plague that science has erased even from the memory Or maybe evolution wiped it out so just the strong survived And no-one with that feeling could exist in the race to stay alive Love makes you crazy love makes you cry ... Love makes you crazy love makes you cry ...
Mississippi Squirrel Revival
Composer(s): C.W. Kalb, Jr. - Carlene Kalb
Performer(s): Ray Stevens
and multiple other artists
Well, when I was a kid I'd take a trip
Ev'ry summer down to Mississipp
To visit my granny in her antebellum world
I'd run barefooted all day long
Climbin' trees free as a song
And one day I happened to catch myself a squirrel
Well, I stuffed him down in an old shoe box
Punched a couple of holes in the top
And when Sunday came, I snuck him into Church
I was sittin' way back in the very last pew
Showin' him to my good buddy, Hugh
When that squirrel got loose and went totally berserk
Well, what happened next is hard to tell
Some thought it was heaven, others thought it was hell
But the fact that somethin' was among us was plain to see
As the choir sang "I Surrender All"
The squirrel ran up Harv Newlan's coveralls
Harv leaped to his feet and said
"Somethin's got a hold on me", Yeow!!
The day the squirrel went berserk
In the First Self-Righteous Church
In that sleepy little town of Pascagoula
It was a fight for survival that broke out in revival
They were jumpin' pews and shoutin' Hallelujah!
Well, Harv hit the aisles dancin' and screamin'
Some thought he had religion, others thought he had a demon
And Harv thought he had a weed eater loose in his Fruit-Of-The-Looms
He fell to his knees to plead and beg
And the squirrel ran out of his britches leg
Unobserved, to the other side of the room
All the way down to the amen pew
Where sat Sister Bertha better-than-you
Who'd been watchin' all the commotion with sadistic glee
But you should've seen the look in her eyes
When that squirrel jumped her garters and crossed her thighs
She jumped to her feet and said "Lord have mercy on me"
As the squirrel made laps inside her dress
She began to cry and then to confess
To sins that would make a sailor blush with shame
She told of gossip and church dissension
But the thing that got the most attention
Was when she talked about her love life
And then she started naming names
The day the squirrel went berserk
In the First Self-Righteous Church
In that sleepy little town of Pascagoula
It was a fight for survival that broke out in revival
They were jumpin' pews and shoutin' Hallelujah!
Well seven deacons and the pastor got saved
And twenty-five thousand dollars got raised
And fifty volunteered for missions in the Congo on the spot
And even without an invitation
There were at least five hundred rededications
And we all got baptized, whether we needed it or not
Now you've heard the bible story I guess
How he parted the waters for Moses to pass
Oh, the miracles God has brought to this old world
But the one I'll remember 'til my dyin' day
Is how he put that Church back on the narrow way
With a half crazed Mississippi squirrel
The day the squirrel went berserk
In the First Self-Righteous Church
In that sleepy little town of Pascagoula
It was a fight for survival that broke out in revival
They was jumpin' pews and shoutin' Hallelujah!
The day the squirrel went berserk

Garden Of Love French Title: Dans Un Jardin D'Amour Composer(s): Gene Pitney Performer(s): Gene Pitney
She's fresh as a daisy all of time She's smelling like a lilac too But in the garden of love I wanna tell ya She something wild, wild, wild and new
Her lips are like a rose a fiery red forget-me-not eyes deep blue But in the garden of love I wanna tell ya She's something wild, wild, wild and new
She's my lily of the valley with a rare perfume Got the beauty of an orchid in full bloom Her sunflower smile is something to see And her two lips are much too much for me
But she's as sweet as the apple blossom is to the bee As pure as the violet too But in the garden of love I wanna tell ya She's something wild, wild, wild and new
She's my lily of the valley with a rare perfume Got the beauty of an orchid in full bloom Her sunflower smile is something to see And her two lips are much too much for me
But she's as sweet as the apple blossom is to the bee As pure as the violet too But in the garden of love I wanna tell ya She's something wild, wild, wild and new
But in the garden of love I wanna tell ya She's something wild, wild, wild and new
Love Makes The World Go Round Composer(s): Deon Jackson First release by: Deon Jackson - 1966 Covered by multiple other artists
You know love makes the world go round And love, baby makes the seesaws go up and down And it makes trees grow tall And the most important thing of all It makes a boy and girl, oh Say they feel so fine, now (feel so fine)
Without love flowers wouldn't grow in the spring And without spring, yeah the birdies just couldn't sing Everybody needs love (1: And 2: Just) to watch the twinkling stars above It makes a boy and girl, (1: yeah 2: oh) Say they feel so fine, now (feel so fine)
Oh... love makes you cry, now That goes for Billy, Sherry, Bobby and Marsha and baby you and I Oh, I can prove to you That these facts of love are so true It makes a boy and girl, yeah Say they feel so fine, now (feel so fine)
Love, love, sweet love love is so good, child Ooh, it's so fine ooh ...
Mississippi River Composer(s): Nicolas Peyrac Performer(s): Nicolas Peyrac
Garden Of Happiness Composer(s): Edward Lockton; Daniel Wood Performer(s): Richard Crooks
I found a garden in the long ago Fragrant and sweet, with wondrous flowers aglow Shady with trees, where birds from morn till night Sang to my heart of love and all delight
Garden of happiness, skies of blue Shine o'er your golden ways, radiant for you Now I have found you, gladness is mine Garden of happiness and love divine
In that fair garden I would ever stay Loving one heart each hour of every day Never a cloud to dim the skies above Never a tear in that glad place of love
Garden of happiness, skies of blue Shine o'er your golden ways, radiant for you Now I have found you, gladness is mine Garden of happiness and love divine
Love Makes Sweet Music Composer(s): David Allen - Kevin Ayers - Mike Ratledge - Robert Wyatt Performer(s): Soft Machine and multiple other artists
Every night it's the same old scene Drinking wine cos you're scared to dream But you know that things will get better If you let your dreams get wetter than wine It's just a waste of time
When it's dark and you hear your heart beat Walk down moonlight's lonely high street Something sings and you feel sunshine But you know you're full of moonshine, too It's staring at you
Love makes sweet music Makes you want to shout out Love makes sweet music Makes you want to run, makes you want to shout out Makes you want to cry, makes you want to run to ... her
Every day it's the same old tune Tell yourself it's coming soon When it comes it comes so fast You get worried cause that thing won't last with her Then you're back where you were

Oh, yeah!
I'm just a love machine and I won't work for nobody but you
Yeah, baby, I'm just a love machine
A hugging kissing fiend!
I think it's high time you knew
Whenever I think of you
My mind blows a fuse
When I look in your eyes
My meter starts to rise
And I become confused
My voltage regulator cools
When I'm sitting next to you
Electricity starts to flow
And my indicator starts to glow wooo!
I, I, I'm just a love machine and I won't work for nobody but you
I'm just a love machine, yeah, baby
A hugging kissing fiend
La-La la la la-La la la la-La la
La la la la la-La la la-La laaaaaaaaa
I, I, I'm just a love machine and I won't work for nobody but you
I'm just a love machine, yeah, baby
A hugging kissing fiend!
I'm gentle as a lamb
I'm not that hard to program
There's no way that you can lose
My chassis fits like a glove
I've got a button for love
That you have got to use!
If you look into my file
I am sure you can find out how
To turn me on just set my dial
And let me love you for a little while, ooooooh!
I, I, I'm just a love machine and I won't work for nobody but you
I'm just a love machine, yeah, baby
A hugging kissing fiend
La-La la la la-La la la la-La la
La la la la la-La la la-La laaaaaaaaa
Push it, push it, baby, aah!
I, I, I'm just a love machine and I won't work for nobody but you
I'm just a love machine, (yeah, baby)
A hugging kissing fiend, (ah, ah)
I'm just a love machine
I won't operate for anybody but you
I'm just a love machine, (yeah, baby)
A hugging kissing fiend!
Oh, yeah!
Love making, earthquaking, soul shaking love machine!
I won't operate for anybody but you
Love making, earthquaking, soul shaking love machine!
I won't operate for anybody but you
Oh, yeah!
Love making, earthquaking, soul shaking love machine!
I won't operate for anybody but you
Love making, earthquaking, soul shaking love machine!

When the sun goes down, the tide goes out The people gather 'round and they all begin to shout "Hey! Hey! Uncle Dud It's a treat to beat your feet on the Mississippi Mud It's a treat to beat your feet on the Mississippi Mud"
What a dance do they do! Lordy, how I'm tellin' you... They don't need no band... They keep time by clappin' their hand... Just as happy as a cow chewin' on a cud When the people beat their feet on the Mississippi Mud
Lordy, how they play it! Goodness, how they sway it! Uncle Joe, Uncle Jim How they pound the mire with vigor and vim! Joy! that music thrills me! Boy! it nearly kills me! What a show when they go! Say! they beat it up either fast or slow
They keep time by clappin' their hand Just as happy as a cow chewin' on a cud When the people beat their feet on the Mississippi Mud

L-o-v-e l-o-v-e love There couldn't be a bad word I haven't heard you say Don't you know the needs of any woman You speak words my ears have never heard of The only four letter word that you don't know is l-o-v-e love L-o-v-e a word you never use l-o-v-e your lips never choose It's enough to make a woman want to give of The only four letter word that you don't know is l-o-v-e love
It would tear me all to pieces if you ever came to me With more to give than one robbed kiss at nighttime You'll never know the longing that my heart does The only four letter word that you don't know is l-o-v-e love L-o-v-e a word you never use ...
