This past weekend I participate in an educational weekend for International cooperation andxml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
sustainable development.
There are a lot of institution who helps the small entrepreneurs in development
countries, with a small amount of money so they can start their own business.
I want to help a school in Egypt - Luxor which is in need of a lot of things for the children.
The poor are not on the priority list.
More children than the school can handle in this neighbourhood and very dirty sanitary fittings.
I thought of placing ice-cells or cooling-cells on the school so they
can rent it to the farmers for an small amount. The school can earn
money to paint the school, to buy books and materials the children need.
Hope the idea is realistic.
We went to a conference location in Hoeven.
pls take a look at:
http://www.bovendonk.nl/zakelijk/
It is written in the Dutch language, but you can see the environment on the pics.
We had a group of people who has their residence in Holland, but are born in other countries and youngsters
who's parents are born abroud.
xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />People from Somalia, Ethiopia, Switzerland, Marocco,
Guinee Conaky, I am born in Surinam South America but my project is in Egypt,
Cameroon etc etc.
All these people have wonderful ideas how to help in their home country.
They know how to implement the 8 millennium goals for poverty.
Here you can read about the development goals:
http://www.un.org/millenniumgoals/
So now I have to write a business plan and make an plan of action for the school in Egypt.
We will present the plan on the 17th of May.
So I would have to spen a lot of my time in the weekends to write
my plan and hope it will pass the selection.
The education weekend was sponsored by an local institution COS and NCDO

On the right side of the page you can find the English version for more information.
I learn a lot about poverty in the world. I wish I really could help
because now I took part in this education weekend because I wanted
to learn more about international cooperation and sustainable development.
Believe me..........there is a lot of poverty in the world.
wish I could give them all I have but I am aware of the idea that that is not realistic.
