The Reflex Composer(s): Roger Taylor - Simon Le Bon - John Taylor - Nick Rhodes - Andy Taylor First release by: Duran Duran - 1983
You gone too far this time but I'm dancing on the valentine I tell you somebody's fooling around with my chances on the dangerline I'll cross that bridge when I find itanother day to make my stand high time is no time for deciding if I should find a helping hand
so why don't you lose it try not to bruise it buy time don't lose it the reflex is an only child he's waiting in the park the reflex is in charge of finding treasure in the dark and watching over lucky clover isn't that bizarre
every little thing the reflex does leaves you answered with a question mark I'm on a ride and I want to get off but they won't slow down the round about I sold the renoir and the tv set don't want to be around when this gets out the reflex is an only child he's waiting by the park the reflex is in charge of finding treasure in the dark and watching over lucky clover isn't that bizarre
every little thing the reflex does is an answer with a question mark the reflex is an only child he's waiting by the park the reflex is in charge of finding treasure in the dark and watching over lucky clover isn't that bizarre
every little thing the reflex does leaves me answered with a question mark oh the reflex what a game he's hiding all the cards the reflex is in charge of finding treasure in the dark and watching over lucky clover isn't that bizarre
every little thing the reflex does leaves you answered with a question mark
Clancy Of The Overflow
Composer(s): Banjo Patterson - Tony Latimer
Performer(s): Tony Latimer
and multiple other artists
I had written him a letter which I had, for want of better knowledge sent to where I met him down the Lachlan, years ago He was shearing when I knew him, so I sent the letter to him Just "on spec", addressed as follows: "Clancy of The Overflow"
And an answer came directed in a writing unexpected (And I think the same was written with a thumbnail dipped in tar) 'Twas his shearing mate who wrote, and verbatim I will quote it "Clancy's gone to Queensland droving, and we don't know where he are"
In my wild erratic fancy visions come to me of Clancy Gone a-droving down the Cooper where the Western drovers go As the stock are slowly stringing, Clancy rides behind them singing For the drover's life has pleasures that the townsfolk never know
And the bush hath friends to meet him, and their kindly voices greet him In the murmur of the breezes and the river on its bars And he sees the vision splendid of the sunlit plains extended And at night, the wondrous glory of the everlasting stars
I am sitting in my dingy little office, where a stingy Ray of sunlight struggles feebly down between the houses tall And the foetid air and gritty of the dusty, dirty city Through the open window floating, spreads its foulness over all
And in place of lowing cattle, I can hear the fiendish rattle Of the tramways and the buses making hurry down the street And the language uninviting of the gutter children fighting Comes fitfully and faintly through the ceaseless tramp of feet
And the hurrying people daunt me, and their pallid faces haunt me As they shoulder one another in their rush and nervous haste With their eager eyes and greedy, and their stunted forms and weedy For the townsfolk have no time to grow, they have no time to waste
And I'd somehow rather fancy that I'd like to change with Clancy Like to take a turn at droving where the seasons come and go While he faced the round eternal of the cashbook and the journal But I'd doubt he'd suit the office, Clancy of The Overflow
Mama, mama, forget your pies Have faith they won't get cold And turn your eyes to the bloodshot sky Your flag is flying full
At half mast, for the matadors Who turned their backs to please the crowd And all fell before the bull
Red was the color of his blood flowing thin Pallid white was the color of his lifeless skin Blue was the color of the morning sky He saw looking up from the ground where he died It was the last thing ever seen by him
Kyrie, Eleison (Lord, have mercy on us)
Mama, mama, forget your pies Have faith they won't get cold And turn your eyes to the bloodshot sky Your flag is flying full
At half mast, for the matadors Who turned their backs to please the crowd And fell before the bull
Black and white were the figures that recorded him Black and white was the newsprint he was mentioned in Black and white was the question that so bothered him He never asked, he was taught not to ask But was on his lips as they buried him
Rex tremendae majestatis (King of tremendous majesty)
The Chinese tell a story that's full of mystic glory of the Orient, a tale of wonderment by the temple walls, each night they burn a red, red lantern bright to their ancient warrior maid they pray
From English sire descended her blood with China blended eyes of Saxon blue, skin of yellow hue at the call of war's command her heart turned to her Motherland ever more they honor her and say
Shine on Red Lantern, through the gloomy night Over fields of white, Shine on Red Lantern over poppies bright, where she sleeps tonight While temple bells to the God of war is calling While thru the moonlight the yellow dragons crawling Come with sword in hand, save your China land Shine on Red Lantern, send your silver beams Over hills and streams Shine on Red Lantern till the morning gleams Wake her from her dreams Sound the tom tom till they come Beat the cymbal and the drum Shine on Red Lantern shine on
Clancy Lowered The Boom
Composer(s): Hy Heath - John Lange
Performer(s): Dennis Day
and multiple other artists
Now Clancy was a peaceful man If you know what I mean The cops picked up the pieces After Clancy left the scene He never looked for trouble That's a fact you can assume But never-the-less when trouble would press Clancy lowered the boom!
Oh, that Clancy, Oh that Clancy Whenever they got his Irish up Clancy lowered the boom!
O'Leary was a fighting man They all knew he was tough He strutted 'round the neighborhood A-shootin' off his guff He picked a fight with Clancy Then and there he sealed his doom Before you could shout "O'Leary, look out!" Clancy lowered the boom!
Oh, that Clancy, Oh that Clancy Whenever they got his Irish up Clancy lowered the boom!
O'Hollihan delivered ice To Misses Clancy's flat He'd always linger for a while To talk of this and that One day he kissed her Just as Clancy walked into the room Before you could say the time of day Clancy lowered the boom!
Oh, that Clancy, Oh that Clancy Whenever they got his Irish up Clancy lowered the boom!
Sure it was the most beautiful sight you ever did see when Clancy Lowered The Boom
Requiem For An Angel Composer(s): Jorma Kaukonen Performer(s): Jorma Kaukonen
Wait for tomorrow, it'll be better than today Wait for tomorrow, child
and let it be the words that I say Well the sun's gonna shine, ain't gonna change my mind, no way! When that new day comes, I know I won't be seeing no grey Well everybody's trying to make me change my mind My friend's tell me I'm just wasting my time Well I don't care cause I'm living blind or crazy I wouldn't lose my mind, but all I can find is trouble Well, though the going gets rough, I just slide on by on the double And though that highway calls, I fly through the sky like a bubble Ah, when the new day comes I'll be feeling fine and traveling alone! Well everybody's trying to make me change my mind My friend's tell me I'm just wasting my time Well I don't care cause I'm living blind or crazy
The Real Truth Composer(s): Steve Lukather - Fee Waybill Performer(s): Steve Lukather
Disguise the emptiness, the disdain Late calls, long halls with words no one hears Reveals the loneliness and the years
Like going backwards in a revolving door I don't know which way's out anymore
I can't run from the real truth And not be living a lie You can't hide from the fate chasing you And watch it, from somebody else's eyes
Cold hearts, cruel thoughts can destroy the faith Just ask the sinner who fell from Grace But things change and strange days can turn a point of view Just time till eveyone gets their due
I may not save the world but I'll save myself Can't depend on somebody else
I can't run from the real truth And not be living a lie You can't hide from the fate chasing you And watch it, from somebody else's eyes
I can't run from the real truth And not be living a lie You can't hide from the fate chasing you And watch it
I can't run from the real truth And not be living a lie You can't hide from the fate chasing you And watch it, from somebody else's eyes
Clairette Et La Fourmi Composer(s): Georges Brassens Performer(s): Georges Brassens
Quand j'ai tort, moi, qu'on me maltraite D'accord, admis!
Ne Raccroche Pas ((Adapted from: Don't Hang Up (The Orlons) - 1962)) Composer(s): Dave Appell - Barry Mann - Ralph Bernet Performer(s): Sheila - 1963
Ne raccroche pas! No, no Laisse-moi te parler, ne raccroche pas! No, no
J'ai téléphoné vainement Chez toi depuis un long moment J'ai eu peur que tu n' rentres pas Ne raccroche pas Je suis heureuse d'entendre enfin ta voix
Ne raccroche pas! No, no Laisse-moi te parler, ne raccroche pas! No, no
No, no Laisse-moi te parler, ne raccroche pas! No, no
No, no Laisse-moi te parler, ne raccroche pas! No, no
No, no Laisse-moi te parler, ne raccroche pas! No, no
Ne raccroche pas! No, no Laisse-moi te parler, ne raccroche pas! No, no
The Real Me Composer(s): Harlan Howard Performer(s): Jan Howard
All you ever see in me is the clown I'm just someone who's a lot of fun To have around And I'd lose you if I told you I love you desperately What a pity you'll never see The real me
You see, there's really two of me And one of me is lonely as can be But she hides when you're about And the other one, she comes out
But keep it light, keep it gay Don't let him know By look, word or action, how I feel Oh, I'd lose you if I told you I love you, so hopelessly What a pity you'll never see The real me
Rosalyn Composer(s): Jimmy Duncan; Bill Farley Performer(s): The Pretty Things; and various other artists

The Wurlitzer Prize (I Don't Want To Get Over You)
The Wurlitzer Prize (I Don't Want To Get Over You) Composer(s): Chips Moman - Bobby Emmons Performer(s): Waylon Jennings
I'm not here to forget you, I'm here to recall The things we used to say and do I don't wanna get over you I don't wanna get over you
I haunt the same places we used to go Alone at a table for two I don't wanna get over you I don't wanna get over you
They oughta give me the Wurlitzer prize For all the silver I let slide down the slot Playin' those songs sung blue They help me remember you I don't want to get over you
A fresh roll of quarters, same old song Missin' you through and through I don't wanna get over you I don't wanna get over you
They oughta give me the Wurlitzer prize For all the silver I let slide down the slot Playin' those songs sung blue They help me remember you 'Cause I don't want to get over you I don't wanna get over you I don't wanna get over you

The moment I met you, I swear I felt as if something, somewhere Had happened to me which I couldn't see And then, the moment I met you, again I knew in my heart that we were friends It had to be so it couldn't be no But try as hard as I might do I don't know why You get to me in a way I can't describe Words mean so little when you look up and smile I don't care what people say to me you're more than Oh, Clair Clair Clair If ever a moment so rare Was captured for all to compare That moment is you in all that you do But why in spite of our age difference do I cry Each time I leave you I feel I could die Nothing means more to me than hearing you say "I'm going to marry you Will you marry me? Oh hurray!" Oh, Clair Clair Clair I've told you before "Don't you dare!" "Get back into bed" "Can't you see that it's late" "No you can't have a drink" "Oh all right then but wait just a minute" While I, in an effort to babysit catch up on my breath What there is left of it You can be murder at this hour of the day But in the morning the sun will see my lifetime away Oh, Clair Clair Oh, Clair

Civilized Man
Composer(s): Richard Feldman - Pat Robinson
Performer(s): Joe Cocker
You made me need you
Need you so bad
Fool to believe you
You made me so mad
oh yeah
Double cross me once
never cross me again
And now you're runnin' round lookin' for some sympathy
When you know as well as I that we're history
You're lucky - I'm a civilized man
You're so lucky - I'm a civilized man
oh yeah
a civilized man
A poison arrow right from the start
Went down to zero
you went for my heart
oh yeah
Usin' hoodoo voodoo to start the fire again
Now you asked me to forget all you put me thru
When you know as well as I you got it comin' to you
Now you're lucky - I'm a civilized man...
Using hoodoo voodoo to start the fire again
Now you're runnin' round lookin' for some sympathy
When you know as well as I that we are history
Oh
you're lucky - I'm a civilized man...
Oh
you're lucky - I'm a civilized man...
You're so lucky - you've got a civilized man
You're so lucky - you've got a civilized man
