That Noise Composer(s): Leslie Bricusse; Anthony Newley Performer(s): Anthony Newley
Can you hear it, that noise? Its been driving me potty all day
I woke up this morning in my usual lively way Peeped out from the bedclothes at another dreary day Feeling full of fun, I threw the alarm clock at the cat Turned over and went back to sleep and thought that that was that
But it wasnt, it was that
I yawned and stretched and scratched a bit Then tumbled out of bed But still I felt this rhythm sorta pounding in my head I thought, well, this is funny, but it cant go on all day I think Ill just ignore it, then its bound to go away
Have you ever had one of those days when nothing seems to go right?
I started out to work and met the postman on his round I said, Good morning postman, can you hear that funny sound? He listened and he said, dyou mean that *>#^%$# noise? I said, thats right He said, thats funny, I cant hear a thing Have you ever tried to push a postman through a letterbox? Its not easy
I went up to a policeman I said, can you hear that noise? He looked at me as if I was a gang o Teddy boys I said, you should arrest it for disturbing peoples peace He said All right, my lad, move on before I call the police!
Have you ever tried to push a policeman through a letterbox? Its all right till you get up to his boots
I went to see a wise man who said, leave it all to me! Ill analyse the noise for only twice my normal fee He came back three days later, and said Its tricky to explain In fact, I dont know what it is but there it goes again
Have you ever tried to push a wise man through twice his normal fee? Its all right until you get up to his letterbox No, that cant be right
I went down to the studios to record my latest hit A sentimental ballad that I thought was full of potential But every time I tried to sing this very lovely song This funny noise keeps starting up and makes me go all wrong
But Im not gonna be beaten by it Im gonna record this hit ballad if it kills me Because its a very pretty tune
What kind of fool am I, who never... Give me an A, will you, Ian? Lovely What kind of fool am I, who never fell-in (plays note twice more) Who never fell-in-love
Will you please try and stop that noise Will somebody please try and stop that noise
When Christmas Comes To Town Composer(s): Glen Ballard; Alan Silvestri Performer(s): Matthew Hall; Meagan Moore; Teresa Carpio; Doug Hammer
La la la la ... I'm wishing on a star And trying to believe That even though it's far He'll find me at Christmas Eve I guess Santa is busy Cause he never comes around I think of him when Christmas comes to town
The best time of the year When everyone comes home With all this Christmas tear It's hard to be alone Putting up the Christmas tree With friends you come around It's so much fun when Christmas comes to town
Presents for the children wrapped in red and green All the things I've heard about, but never really see No one will be sleeping on the night of Christmas Eve Hoping Santa's on his way
Presents for the children wrapped in red and green All the things I've heard about, but never really see No one will be sleeping on the night of Christmas Eve Hoping Santa's on his way
When Santa's sleigh bells ring I listen all around The herald angels sing I never hear a sound And all the dreams of children Once lies will all be found That's all I want when Christmas comes to town That's all I want when Christmas comes to town
Si Je Mourais Là-Bas Composer(s): Guillaume Apollinaire Performer(s): Jean Ferrat; Christian Gonon
When Children Rule The World Composer(s): Andrew Lloyd Webber; Jim Steinman Performer(s): Clark Sterling
Hams and yams and cookies and candy
chimes of joy and candles aglow Hymns and carols - choirs are forming everywhere that you go Pere Noël, Pere Noël - Angels for every boy and girl Nobody cries or tells any lies The night that children rule the world When the children rule the world Tonight! When the children rule the world
Doves and kings and shepherds and wisemen came together followed the star They all gathered down in the manger, they came from so very far Midnight is clear, the spirits are here, angels that guard each boy and girl No hunger or thirst, the last will be first The night that children rule the world When the children rule the world Tonight! When the children rule the world
All the greatest wishes are granted, let us sing, let innocence reign All the prayers are finally answered, blessed and free of all pain Towers of fire rise ever higher, magical flags will be unfurled The power of song, the young are the strong The night that children rule the world When the children rule the world Tonight! When the children rule the world Pere Noël, Pere Noël - Angels for every boy and girl The demons are gone, the young are the strong The night that children rule the world When the children rule the world Tonight! When the children rule the world
Pere Noël, Pere Noël - Angels for every boy and girl The demons are gone, the young are the so strong (the night when the children) Rule the world When the children rule the world Tonight! When the children rule the world When the children rule the world Tonight! When the children rule the world (when the children) Oh (when the children) (when the children) They rule the world (when the children) Ooh, yeah (when the children) When the children rule the world (when the children) When the children rule the world (when the children) When the children rule the world (when the children) (when the children)..............
I was there that day and saw her crying After mamma Teddy Bear said 10-4 good bye She turned off the old CB and just looked at me And I heard the flood and her tears ran free And the gratitude shone in the face like the sun For all those things those big tough truckers had done A hand full of change and a few dollar bills But most of all a little crippled boys dream fulfilled I guess I was mamma Teddy Bears best friend I lived next dorr to her and little Teddy Bear since I dont know when thats why now before my memory grows old the rest of this story just has to be told Id come over and sit with Teddy Bear while his mamma was away And play little games to help him pass the day In the afternoons hed wheel that chair over to the radio and go on the air And one by on e hed break them all I never knew a trucker not to answer his call Hed just grins and ask em not to tell his mamma But I was pretty sure she knew what was going on But time has a way of taking its toll and much too fast mamma Teddy Bear was growing old I watched as the silver touched her hair and her one aime in life was Teddy Bear Then I saw another change take place little Teddy Bear was slowly losing the race I knew it and his mamma knew it too And there is nothing in this whole world either one of us could do Hed talk less often on the old CB and there were times when hed hardly talk with me He took to sitting in the window and watching the road And the big 18 wheelers just rolling by with their load Finally he was too weak to get out of bed and one day he looked at me and said Would you turn on the radio and go on the air Tell all my trucker friends whats happened to Teddy Bear Well the hardest thing Ive done in my time Was to pick up that mike and say breaker 1-9 This is for all you truckers who care Im calling for your little friend Teddy Bear He says to tell you he misses you all and hes awful sorry he cant answer your calls They all came back and jerked with me And said they catch him later on the CB They never did catch Teddy Bear again Because late one night the angel came And the last thing he said before he died was Tell all my trucker friends how I enjoyed the rides Mamma Teddy Bear couldnt tell them and neither could I Because each time we look at that radio We both started to cry The funeral was pearched at the chaplin and little Teddy Bear started on his last ride As the precision round the little city square the sounds of a hundred engines filled the air The truckers had dropped their tailers back somewhere behind And one by one they fell in line They all tried to comfort mamma Teddy Bear And it seems like the warmth of god just filled the air Slowly they formed a circle around the little grave And a lot of big men cried that day as they paid their respects On Teddy Bears last ride

A ray of hope flitters in the sky A shiny star lights up way up high All across the land dawns a brand new morn This comes to pass when a child is born
A silent wish sails the seven seas The winds have changed whisperin the trees And the walls of doubt crumble tossed and torn This comes to pass when a child is born
A rosy fume settles all around You've got the feel you're on solid ground For a spell or two no-one seems forlorn This comes to pass when a child is born
And all of this happened Because whe world is waiting Waiting for one child Black, white, yellow, no one knows But a child that would grow up and turn tears to laughter Hate to love, war to peace And everyone to everyone's neighbour Misery and suffering would be forgotten forever
It's all a dream and illusion now It must come true, sometimes soon somehow All across the land dawns a brand new morn This comes to pass when a child is born
All across the land dawns a brand new morn This comes to pass when a child is born

Whatever Happened To Christmas? Composer(s): Jimmy Webb Performer(s): Frank Sinatra & The Sinatra Family; Jimmy Joyce Singers & Orch.; Aimee Mann
Whatever happened to Christmas? It's gone and left no traces Whatever happened to the faces or the glow Whatever happened to Christmas to Christmas way of living? Whatever happened to the giving the magic in the snow? Remember the sight and the smell and the sound And remember hearing the call Remember how love was all around whatever happened to it all? Whatever happened to Christmas bells in the streets were ringing Whatever happened to the singing the songs we used to know Whatever happened to this Christmas and when did it disappear from view Where was I, and whatever happened to you? Whatever happened to Christmas and you?
What I Love About Christmas Composer(s): Connie Zimmerman Performer(s): The Jingle Janglers
I'll tell you what I love about the Christmas season Here are lots of reasons and they're all from the heart Making Christmas decorations 'round the kitchen table Just before Thanksgiving is a good way to start
Hand me the crayons and the glitter too Pass me the scissors please, and then the glue I'll draw a chubby little tummy for Santa Claus I'll make one hundred ornaments before I pause
Drinking egg-nog like it's going outta style While putting up the tree and stringing the lights Stepping outside to see our house lit up Riding through the neighborhood, enjoying the sights
I love the feelings of Christmas I love making shopping lists I love hanging tree decorations I love to get a mistletoe kiss
The morning of Christmas is a special time Shiny new bikes rolling down the lane The mommies are a-cooing over new baby dolls Daddy's workin' hard to build the toy train
A holiday dinner prepared with love yummy brown gravy over Real Mashed Potatoes see the daddies nap after they're done eating while the mommies and the kids play a game
Tree ornaments that have a special meaning Looking for a snowflake from above Another thing I cherish about each Christmas Is singing Christmas Carols with the ones I love
I love the feelings of Christmas I love making shopping lists I love hanging tree decorations I love to get a mistletoe kiss
Sparkling little faces so full of joy Looking for a snowflake from above A gift I really cherish about this season Is singing Christmas Carols with the ones I love
Si Je Le Pouvais Composer(s): Claude Barzotti; M. Célie; A.M. Gaspard Performer(s): Claude Barzotti
What Does Christmas Mean To Me Composer(s): Allan Greenspoon; Claude Morrison; Rhonda Silver Performer(s): The Nylons
What does Christmas mean to me is it more than just a Christmas tree And lights and fancy decorations or a time for celebration
What does Christmas mean to me fresh fallin' snow, a symphony Or a newborn babe in Bethlehem three wise men beside the lamb
What does Christmas mean is it just a dream Oh God I hope you hear my plea 'cause it means so much to me
Why did that star shine oh so bright and angels sing all through the night What do they mean a Saviour's born what miracle happened on that morn
What does Christmas mean is it just a dream Oh God I hope you hear my plea 'cause it means so much to me
(I'll tell you what it means to me show you what it how it feels to see the light shine down on me) Oh Santa when you come to call bring joy and blessings for us all For the mystery of that birth but most of all bring peace on earth
What does Christmas mean is it just a dream Oh God, I hope you hear my plea 'cause it means so much to me
The Dooright Family Composer(s): Ray Stevens Performer(s): Ray Stevens
I wanta tell you a story 'bout the Dooright Family That soul singing gospel group from the hills of Tennessee They travel in a silver eagle with eight rooms and a shower And every Sunday afternoon you can tune 'em in on the Dooright hour
"Oh yes friends and neighbors we are the Dooright Family Broadcasting over the airwaves from Nashville, Tennessee Reach over and turn up your radio's and we'll bring our music to ya and pretty soon you'll shout hallelujah!"
Well you've the Dooright {dooright}, Dooright {dooright}, Dooright {dooright}, Dooright {dooright} and we invite you to help us sing our song The Dooright...yes it's the doo-Dooright's you know you can't go wrong!
"Here's brother Therman" "Howdy neighbors" "Sister Doris and Sister Dewdrop" "Praise glory!" "Oh bless your hearts, girls" "Bless your heart, Daddy; bless your heart Virgil, bless your heart Mama, bless your..." "Hold it! That's enough heart blessing Here's brother Virgil" "Lordy, lordy, lordy" "Atta boy, Virgil and of course friends I'm Daddy Dooright!" "No show would be complete You wouldn't dare delete She can't be beat, you're in for a treat, she'll sweep you off of your feet So hang on to your seats Prepare to meet and greet our dear sweet Mama..." "Hallelujah friends and neighbors Never give in to that sin and temptation that's lurking in the shadows but constantly strive for that burning beakon on the distant horizon...ha, ha, ha, ha" "Okay, Mama, that's enough" "Ha, ha, ha, ha ..." Hush Mama, Virgil!"
"Now play the piano Mama"
One afternoon in an all-night sing they were making those rafters ring Had that audience clapping on one and three, oh mercy! Wasn't too long before they hit a groove and then the spirit began to move ol' Therman right over the edge and he began to preach
"Flock, a-ha I just wanna say a few words about them discotechs People's in there smokin', people's in there drinkin' People's in there dancing, a-ha I tell you flock, a-ha, them discotechs ain't nothin' but a regular Sodom and Gamore, a-ha Where you goin', Virgil, a-ha?" "I'm goin' over to one of those discotechs!" "You come back here, Virgil, a-ha!" "Never give in to sin and temptation that lurks in the shadows but constantly strive for the burning beakon on the distant horizon Ha, ha, ha ..." "That's enough Hush Mama, Virgil!"
"Now play the piano Mama!"
Well, the tears were streaming down every face There wasn't a dry eye in the place One woman had her eyes rolled back and she was speaking in tongues! Even the Dooright's were moved by the sermon and Daddy reached out and hugged ol' Therman and all did the last chorus like it never been sung
Well you've the Dooright {dooright}, Dooright {dooright}, Dooright {dooright}, Dooright {dooright} and we invite you to help us sing our song The Dooright...yes it's the doo-Dooright's you know you can't go wrong!
Dooright, dooright, dooright, dooright, dooright... "Go for another octave, Virgil!"
"What was that?" "Oh no! Virgil's done gone so slow he's exploded right there on stage friends!" "Hallelujah!" "Play the piano, Mama! Friends, till we meet again keep them cards and letters comin' in And don't foget the autographed song books for sale as you leave the building Got pictures of the entire Dooright Family standing in front of the lavendar bus Lordy, Virgil, will you cut that out? You can't sing that low! Friends, look for the Dooright bus comin' through your town real soon Virgil! Virgil!!!"
What Christmas Should Be Composer(s): Matthew Gerrard; Charlie Midnight Performer(s): Hilary Duff
What wishes will we make when the season is near Will your dreams be the same as they were last year Will you ask for a little, will you ask for a lot And when you make your list, will there be something you forgot
How 'bout peace on earth, it can't be bought or sold How 'bout peace this Christmas and someone's hand to hold How 'bout love in our hearts and hope for you and me How 'bout peace on earth That's what Christmas should be
You get all the things that you've been waiting for Snowfall and presents, choirs singing at your door And your season will be perfect like those picture postcard scenes But is that the answer, is that what Christmas really means
How 'bout peace on earth, it can't be bought or sold How 'bout peace this Christmas and someone's hand to hold How 'bout love in our hearts and hope for you and me How 'bout peace on earth That's what Christmas should be
What would you sacrifice, what would you give away For the greatest gift of all on Christmas Day
How 'bout peace on earth, it can't be bought or sold How 'bout peace this Christmas and someone's hand to hold How 'bout love in our hearts and hope for you and me How 'bout peace on earth
How 'bout peace on earth, it can't be bought or sold How 'bout peace this Christmas and someone's hand to hold How 'bout love in our hearts and hope for you and me How 'bout peace on earth How 'bout peace on earth That's what Christmas should be
Si Je Dis "Je T'aime" (Adapted from: I've Got A Thing About You Baby - 1972) Tony Joe White; Claude Lemesle; Pierre Delanoë Performer(s): Joe Dassin - 1979

What child is this, who, laid to rest On Mary's lap is sleeping? Whom angels greet with anthems sweet While shepherds watch are keeping? This, this is Christ the King Whom shepherds guard and angels sing Haste, haste to bring him laud The babe, the son of Mary
Why lies he in such mean estate Where ox and ass are feeding? Good Christian, fear: for sinners here The silent Word is pleading Nails, spear shall pierce Him through The Cross be borne for me, for you Hail, hail, the Word made flesh The Babe, the Son of Mary
So bring him incense, gold, and myrrh Come, peasant, king, to own him the King of kings salvation brings Let loving hearts enthrone him Raise, raise the song on high The Virgin sing her lullaby Joy, joy, for Christ is born The Babe, the Son of Mary
I've Got A Thing About You Baby (French Version: Si Je Dis "Je T'aime" - 1979) Composer(s): Tony Joe White First release by: Tony Joe White - 1972 Covered by multiple other artists
I've got something to tell you That I think you ought to know That my eyes are on you baby Since a long time ago And now I fin'ly got the nerve And I'm gonna make my move Now don't you try to turn me off Cause it's gonna be hard to do
Ain't No Two Ways About It Baby Your Love Was Meant For Me Know That I Can't Do Without It It Fits Me To A Tee Oh There's Something About You Baby Can't Get You Off My Mind I Know That I Can't Live Without You I Think About You All The Time
I've got a thing about you baby Ain't nothing I can do I've got a thing about you baby A thing about lovin' you
Ain't it just like a woman When she knows she's got a man She'll wring you out and turn you 'bout In the palm of her hand And then she starts to thinkin' Then maybe she's put you in a blind She'll give you just a little lovin' It'll drive you out of your mind
I've got a thing about you baby Ain't nothing you can do I've got a thing about you baby A thing about lovin' you

Maybe it's much too early in the game
Aah, but I thought I'd ask you just the same
What are you doing New Year's
New Year's Eve?
Wonder whose arms will hold you good and tight
When it's exactly twelve o'clock that night
Welcoming in the New Year
New Year's Eve
Maybe I'm crazy to suppose
I'd ever be the one you chose
Out of a thousand invitations
You received
Aah, but in case I stand one little chance
Here comes the jackpot question in advance
What are you doing New Year's
New Year's Eve?
There Ain't No "Maybe" In My Baby's Eyes Composer(s): Walter Donaldson; Gus Kahn; Raymond B. Egan Performer(s): Whispering Jack Smith and multiple other artists
My baby never told me Exactly how I stand She even tries to scold me When I hold her little hand My baby may be bashful My baby may be shy But I'm happy, oh, so happy And I'll tell you why
Oh, I know my baby loves me I can tell my baby loves me For there ain't no maybe in my baby's eyes!
Even though she don't express it She might just as well confess it For there ain't no maybe in my baby's eyes!
We sit each evening And never speak I wish each evening Could last a week
Oh, I know my baby loves me I can tell my baby loves me For there ain't no maybe in my baby's eyes!
Although our conversation Is mostly just "hello" That certain hesitation Every time I start to go Her little way of saying That little word "good-bye" Makes me happy, oh, so happy And here's just why
Oh, I know my baby loves me I can tell my baby loves me For there ain't no maybe in my baby's eyes!
And even though she don't express it She might just as well confess it Oh, there ain't no maybe in my baby's eyes! We sit each evening And never speak And I wish each evening Could last a week
Oh, I know my baby loves me I can tell my baby loves me For there ain't no maybe in my baby's eyes!
