    Só Eu E Você
((Adapted from: There's A Kind Of Hush (The New Vaudeville Band) - 1966))
Composer(s): Les Reed - Geoff Stephens - Lilian Knapp
    Performer(s): The Fevers - 1967

    Versions In Other Languages:
1967 - Qu'est-Ce Que Tu Deviens? (Claude François)
1995 - 'K Voel Me Goed Vandaag (Dana Winner)

Se você, meu bem, prestar atenção verá
Que, às vezes, não há no mundo ninguém
Só eu e você, sabe por quê?

Se quiser saber, é só escutar, dizer
    O quanto lhe adoro
E que só me interessa você

Assim, você e eu vamos sentir
    Como é melhor amar
    Sem pensar em nos separar

Então, verá que vou lhe dar
O que eu tiver de bom em mim
    Só porque adoro você

    The Song Is You
Composer(s): Jerome Kern - Oscar Hammerstein
First performance by: Tullio Carminati - 1932
    Covered by multiple other artists

I hear music when I look at you
A beautiful theme of ev'ry dream I ever knew
Down deep in my heart, I hear it play
I feel it start then melt away
I hear music when I touch your hand
A beautiful melody from some enchanted land
Down deep in my heart, I hear it say
    Is this the day?
I alone have heard this lovely strain
I alone have heard this glad refrain
Must it be forever in side of me
Why can't I let it go?
Why can't I let you know?
Why can't I let you know the song my heart would sing?
That beautiful rhapsody of love and youth and spring
The music is sweet the words are true
    The song is you

    The Shifting Whispering Sands
Composer(s): Jack Gilbert - Mary Hadler
    Performer(s): Johnny Cash
    and multiple other artists

I discovered the valley of the shifting, whispering sands
While prospecting for gold in one of our western States
I saw the silent windmills, the crumbling water tanks
The bones of cattle and burros, picked clean by buzzards
    Bleached by the desert suns
I stumbled over a crumbling buckboard nearly covered by the sands
And stopping to rest, I heard a tinkling, whispering sound
Then suddenly realized that even though the wind was quiet
The sand did not lie still
I seemed to be surround by a mystery
So heavy and oppressive I could scarcely breath
For days and weeks I wandered aimlessly in this valley
Seeking answers to the many questions
That raced through my fevered mind
    Where was everyone
    Why the white bones
    The dry wells
The barren valley where people must have lived and died
Finally I could go no farther
    My food and water gone
I sat down and buried my face in my hands
And resting thus, I learned the secret
    Of the Shifting, whispering sands
How I managed to escape from the valley I do not know
But now to pay my final debt for being spared
I must tell you what I learned out on the desert
    So many years ago

When the day is awfully quiet
And the breeze seems not to blow
One would think the sand was resting
But you'll find this is not so
    It is whispering, softly whispering
    As it slowly moves along
And for those who stop and listen
It will sing this mournful song
Of sidewinders and the horn toads
    Of the thorny chaparral
Endless sunny days and moonlit nights
    The coyotes lonely yell
Of the stars seem you could tough them
As you lay and gaze on high
At the heavens where we're hoping
We'll be going when we die

Yes it always whispers to me
Of the days of long ago
When the settlers and the miners
    Fought the crafty Navajo
How the cattle roamed the valley
    Happy people worked the land
    And now everything is covered
    By the shifting, whispering sands

How the miner left his buckboards
Went to work his claims that day
And the burro's broke their halters
When they thought he'd gone to stay
Wandered far in search of water
    On to old sidewinder's well
And there, their bones picked clean by buzzards
That were circling when they fell

How they found the ancient miner
    Lying dead upon the sand
After months they could but wonder
If he died by human hand

So they dug his grave and laid him
On his back and crossed his hands
And his secret still is hidden
    By the shifting, whispering sands

This is what they whispered to me
    On the quiet desert air
Of the people and the cattle
    And the miner lying there

If you want to learn their secret
    Wander through this quiet land
And I'm sure you'll hear the story
    Of the shifting, whispering sands

    Shifting, whispering sands

    Composer(s): Tom T. Hall
    Performer(s): Dave Dudley; S.W.A.T.

    Some men drink alcohol
Some men drink juices from the vine
But as for me, I'm very simple
    Give me coffee ev'ry time
Make it warm and make it sweet
Just the way my life has been
Give me coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee
And let me tell you, you have found yourself a friend

    Cinncinnatti, early in the mornin'
Aah, waitin' on an old Greyhound
For Macon, Georgia right around noon time
Ah, bring that coffee pot around
Make it hot and make it now
A little cream and sugar use
Give me coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee
And you have absolutely found yourself a friend

A cup of china, a silver spoon
Cream out of a golden can
See that pot, aah, it's percolatin'
And it's just like music from a band
These old bones, they're tired and weary
But, man, you go percol up again
Give me coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee
I guarantee that you have have found yourself a friend

Yessir, you have found yourself a friend
I guarantee that you have have found yourself a friend
    Ooohhh, you got yourself ...

    Looking for another place
    Somewhere else to be
    Looking for another chance
    To ride into the sun

    Ride into the sun
    Ride into the sun
    Ride into the sun
    Ride into the sun

    Where everything seems so pretty
When you’re lonely and tired of the city
Remember it’s a flower made out of clay

    To the city
    Where everything seems so ugly
When your sitting at home in self pitty
Remember you’re just one more person
    Who’s living there

It’s hard to live in the city
It’s hard to live in the city
It’s hard to live in the city

Composer(s): Bernie Worrell - Bootsy Collins - George Clinton - William Collins
    Performer(s): Funkadelic

There is a song that I sing whenever I'm sad, feeling bad
There is a place in my head that I go when I'm feeling low

I can trust in the melody, in this song I can find me
Ever since I lost you, I've been so lost too
In our love there is harmony, and I want to see this love through with you

There is a song you can sing
When the love you had is love gone bad
There is a place you can go
There's a quiet place...all you gotta do is space

There is a song that I sing whenever I'm sad, feeling bad
There is a place in my head that I go, when I'm feeling low

To my song I can relate and I don't got to syncopate
Every word is in time, on time, at all times
In our love there is harmony, and I want to see this love through with you

There is a song you can sing whenever you're sad, feeling bad
There is a quiet place, you can go, when you're feeling low

There is a song you can sing
When the love you had is love gone bad
There is a place you can go
There's a quiet place...all you gotta do is space

There is a song that I sing whenever I'm sad, feeling bad
There is a place in my head that I go, when I'm feeling low

    {repeat}...

    The Sheriff
Composer(s): Carl Palmer - Greg Lake - Keith Emerson
    Performer(s): Emerson, Lake & Palmer

    Wicked Josie rode away
    In the sunset covered sky
A lynching mob had strung his friend up
    Right before his eyes
He didn't know what they'd both done
He sure as hell would end up one
A hot tin notch on the sheriff's gun
    If he didn't move on
    Get out of here

    The sheriff followed Josie's journey
    From Kansas in the West
He said he'd put a bullet right
    Through poor old Josie's chest
But Josie wasn't like the rest
He don't like bullet holes in his vest
In fact he'd do his very best
    Don't want any arrest
Don't want to be the guest
    Of the sheriff

The nights got so damned cold
    He couldn't stand the pace
He looked again for sheriff's men
    But couldn't see the chase
Josie found a nice warm place
But then the sheriff solved the case
    Hoped to find Josie's face
    And said lookie here...

    Sheriff rode him into town
    With Josie look inside
He didn't know about the six-gun
    Wicked Josie had
Then Josie drew his gun real fast
Gave the sheriff one big blast
And Josie was a song at last
    A legend from the past
Nobody ever messed with the sheriff

Coffee time, my dreamy friend, it's coffee time
Let's sing this silly little rhyme
And have a cup of coffee

Java time, my happy chum, let's have a time
We'll celebrate for just a dime
And have a cup of coffee

Greetin' time, the music box is beatin' time
    It's good old-fashioned meetin' time
We're in the pink, so come and clink
And let's drink a cup of coffee

Coffee time, my dreamy friend, it's coffee time

    Seventy-three men sailed up
    From the San Francisco Bay
    Rolled off of their ship
And here's what they had to say
"We're callin' everyone to ride along
    To another shore
We can laugh our lives away
    and be free once more"
But no one heard them callin'
    No one came at all
'Cause they were too busy watchin'
    Those old raindrops fall
    As a storm was blowin'
    Out on the peaceful sea
    Seventy-three men sailed off
    To history
    Ride, captain ride
    Upon your mystery ship
    Be amazed at the friends
You have here on your trip
    Ride captain ride
    Upon your mystery ship
On your way to a world
    That others might have missed

The Song Is Ended (But The Melody Lingers On)
    Composer(s): Irving Berlin
First recording/First release by: Whispering Jack Smith - 1927/1928
    Covered by multiple other artists

My thoughts go back to a heavenly dance
A moment of bliss we spent
Our hearts were filled with a song of romance
As into the night we went
And sang to our hearts' content

    The song is ended
    But the melody lingers on
You and the song are gone
    But the melody lingers on

    The night was splendid
And the melody seemed to say
    "Summer will pass away
Take your happiness while you may"

There 'neath the light of the moon
We sang a love song that ended too soon

    The moon descended
And I found with the break of dawn
You and the song had gone

    The Shelter Of Your Arms
    Composer(s): Napoleon XIV
First release by: Sammy Davis Jr. - 1964

    In this cold world
    No matter where I go
The crowds are all the same

    And they among just
    Evil in the sand
    A face without a name

    Nobody gives a hang
For what I say or do
    But you
And in the shelter of your arms
I find peace and comfort and care
    For I am wanted there

    In this cold world
    You struggle to survive
    And sometimes you can fall

    You'd think someone
    Would lend a helping hand
    They'd sooner see you crawl

    But just when life itself
Seems more than I can bear
    You're there
And in the shelter of your arms
I find strength and safety and then
    I rise and start again

Just give me one good reason
    To go on living
    To keep on trying
For what, I ask you for what
    If not for you
    And all your love
    To see me through

    But just when life itself
Seems more than I can bear
    You're there
And in the shelter of your arms
I find strength and safety and then
    I rise and start again

    I've got a mission, it's just a simple thing
I've only one ambition, to have the right to bring you
    Your coffee in the morning
    And kisses in the night

It's my desire to do as I am told
To have what you require, and never have it cold, Dear
    Your coffee in the morning
    And kisses in the night

Though wedding bells sound sad and dirgy
Though wedding ties may spoil the fun
    Without the benefit of clergy
Oh, I'm afraid it can't be done

It isn't formal, but with a wedding ring
It's natural, it's normal to give you everything from
    Your coffee in the morning
    Your kisses in the night

    Two wheels a turnin'
    One girl a yearnin'
    Big motor burnin' the road

    I'll ride the highway
    I'm going my way
    I'll leave a story untold

Pretty girls behind me but pretty girls are everywhere
Big motor wind up, ride away from here

    Ride away

She won't approve of things I do or what I am
    And I don't really give a ...... I understand
But she'll never see that I'll never be
    Any one but me

She thinks she needs me, she cries for me
But I know she's lying, crying for others to see
What can I say, I'll just ride away

Big motor run run (background) ride ride away
Ride on away from big motor run run
    Heart-ache and misery

    I'm bound to wander
    Way over yonder
Someone be waitin' just for me

True love to cling to, I need a dream to share
Someone to know me, Someone to show me they care

    Ride away, ride away
    >From tears and sorrow
    Like there's no tomorrow

    Tonight I'll ride away

    Whenever we kiss
    I worry and wonder
    Your lips may be near
    But where is your heart?

    It's always like this
    I worry and wonder
    You're close to me here
    But where is your heart?

It's a sad thing to realise
That you've a heart that never melts
When we kiss, do you close your eyes
    Pretending that I'm someone else?

    You must break the spell
    This cloud that I'm under
    So please won't you tell
    Darling, where is your heart?

She was young and she was pretty and her heart was bright and gay
And she won him so completely in her shawl of galway grey
In her eyes a love was shining like the moonlight on the bay
But her love was for another neath her shawl of galway grey

When the vesper bells were ringing a smile came to her face
For her fisher boy she waited, no one could ever take his place
In her heart there's still a memory and it's there twill always stay
Of the love he left behind him neath a shawl of galway grey

Ride it on out like a bird in the sky ways
Ride it on out like you were a bird
Fly it all out like an eagle in a sunbeam
Ride it on out like you were a bird

Wear a tall hat like a druid in the old days
Wear a tall hat and a tatooed gown
Ride a white swan like the people of the Beltane
Wear your hair long, babe you can't go wrong

Catch a bright star and a place it on your fore-head
Say a few spells and baby, there you go
Take a black cat and sit it on your shoulder
And in the morning you'll know all you know, oh

Wear a tall hat like a druid in the old days
Wear a tall hat and a tatooed gown
Ride a white swan like the people of the Beltane
Wear your hair long, babe you can't go wrong

    Da-da-da-di-di-da, da-da-da-di-di-da ....

    The Son Of Irving
    Performer(s): Frank Gallop

You remember how Irving got three slugs in the belly?
How it happened outside the Frontier Deli?
How he lived by his gun and died by his gun?
Well, no one knew fat Irving had a son

    Named Seymour
    Tall, slim Seymour
    Tall, slim, excellent-looking Seymour
Son of the hundred and forty-second fastest gun in the West

He had steamy eyes and stood six-foot four
When he walked in the bar, he filled the door
He had a gun in one hand, and the folks would stare
'Cause in his other hand, he had a teddy bear

    Seymour
    Tall, sissy Seymour
    Tall, excellent-looking, sissy Seymour
Son of the hundred and forty-second fastest gun in the West

Seymour was dressed in boots magenta
By his mother, Esther, a dance hall yente
She had one goal, and he never mocked her
She dreamed he'd marry a lady doctor

    Seymour
    Momma's boy Seymour
    Excellent-looking, big baby Seymour
Son of the hundred and forty-second fastest gun in the West

One day Seymour rode into town
Billy the Kid was waitin' to shoot him down
Seymour disguised himself in a dress and bustle
And rode out of town as Lillian Russell

    Seymour
    Side-saddled Seymour
    Tall, really excellent-looking Seymour
Son of the hundred and forty-second fastest gun in the West

But then Seymour made Bad Max a dare
There stood Seymour, one hand on his gun and one on his teddy bear
But Bad Max shot Seymour down in the high noon sun
Stupid Seymour had drawn his teddy, and hugged his gun

    Seymour
    Mortally wounded Seymour
    Not so excellent-looking Seymour
    Dead, dum-dum Seymour
Truly, the son of the hundred and forty-second fastest gun in the West
    Really

    Covered by multiple other artists

    I can't go, I can't stay
It's your fault, I'm this way
I ain't ever been, hmm, the shape I'm in
    I can't sit, I can't stand
    This feeling is so grand
Hoping it never ends, hmm, the shape I'm in
You tell me no, then you tell me yes
You keep my mind a wreck
I'm not gonna ever rest, I'm gonna get you yeah
I feel good, I feel bad
I feel happy, I feel sad
But I love you all over again
I love being in the shape I'm in
    Yeah!

    I can't go, I can't stay
It's your fault, I'm this way
I ain't ever been, hmm, the shape I'm in
    I can't sit, I can't stand
    This feeling is so grand
Hoping it never ends, hmm, the shape I'm in
You tell me no, then you tell me yes
You keep my mind a wreck
I'm not gonna ever rest, I'm gonna get you yeah
I feel good, I feel bad
I feel happy, I feel sad
But I love you all over again
I love being in the shape I'm in

    Coffee Blues
    Composer(s): Mississippi John Hurt
    Performer(s): Mississippi John Hurt

This is the "Coffee Blues", I likes a certain brand
    - Maxwell's House - it's good till the last drop
just like it says on the can
I used to have a girl cookin' a good Maxwell House
    She moved away
Some said to Memphis and some said to Leland, but I found her
I wanted her to cook me some good Maxwell's House
You understand, if I can get me just a spoonful of Maxwell's House
do me much good as two or three cups this other coffee

I've got to go to Memphis, bring her back to Leland
I wanna see my baby 'bout a lovin' spoonful, my lovin' spoonful
Well, I'm just got to have my lovin'

Good mornin', baby, how you do this mornin'?
Well, please, ma'am, just a lovin' spoon
    just a lovin' spoonful
I declare, I got to have my lovin' spoonful

My baby packed her suitcase and she went away
I couldn't let her stay for my lovin'
    my lovin' spoonful
Well, I'm just got to have my lovin'

Good mornin', baby, how you do this mornin'?
Well, please, ma'am, just a lovin' spoon
    just a lovin' spoonful
I declare, I got to have my lovin' spoonful

Well, the preacher in the pulpit, jumpin' up and down
He laid his bible down for his lovin'
    Ain't Maxwell House all right?
Well, I'm just got to have my lovin'
