Grow Old With Me

Grow Old With Me
Composer(s): John Lennon
Performer(s): John Lennon;
and various other artists

Grow old along with me
The best is yet to be
When our time has come
We will be as one

God bless our love
God bless our love

Grow old along with me
Two branches on one tree
Face the setting sun
When the day is done

God Bless our love
God bless our love

Spending our lives together
Man and wife together
World without end
World without end

Grow old along with me
Whatever fate decrees
We will see it through
For our love is true

God bless our love
God bless our love

God bless our love
God bless our love

God bless our love

That Feeling Is Gone

That Feeling Is Gone
Composer(s): Walter Hirsh - Chester Wallace
Performer(s): Benny Goodman & His Orch.

That feeling is gone, I must go on without you
That feeling is gone, the thrill I used to know
You tell me you're sorry, that it wasn't meant to be
It's easy to be sorry, but how about me ?

That feeling is gone, still I could never doubt you
For old times' sake, I'll gladly take the blame
Although I can't forget you, I wonder why I ever met you
That feeling is gone, never to be the same

My Walking Stick

My Walking Stick
Composer(s): Irving Berlin
Performer(s): Leon Redbone
and various other artists

Without my walking stick, I'd go insane
I can't look my best I feel undressed without my cane
Must have my walking stick 'cause it may rain
When it pours can't be outdoors without my cane

If I ever left my house without my walking stick
Well it would be something I could never explain
Oh the thing that makes me click, on lovers lane
Would go for naught if I were caught without my cane

Be-bop-bop-de-la-dum
Be-bop-a-da-bum
Re-bop-be-a
Rop-a-de-bop
Rump-a-de-dum
Ra-da-da-de

Re-bop-bop-la-da-dum
Re-bop-be-de-a
Rop-a-de-bum
Rop-a-de-bum
Deet-de-de-a
Ra-da-da-dum

If I ever left my house without my walking stick
Well it would be something I could never explain
Oh the thing that makes me click on lovers lane
Would go for naught if I were caught without my cane

Ground Hog Blues

Ground Hog Blues
Composer(s): Sonny Boy Williamson
Performer(s): Sonny Boy Williamson

Now I'm a walkin' groundhog mama and I walks around in my den
Now I'm a walkin' groundhog mama and I walks around in my den
Now if I come out and see my shadow, John I believe I'll go back in

Now I want some feedin' mama, so I can hear a high sound
If you don't feed me baby I believe I'll go back in the ground
Because I'm that walkin' groundhog, mama and I walks around in my den
Now if I come out and see my shadow you say you don't love me
I believe I'll go back in

Now I wanna hear some swingin' music, I wanna hear a Fats Waller song
Now if I start to jitterbuggin' I'm forgettin' my hole down in the ground
Because I'm that walkin' groundhog, man and I walks around in my den

Now if I come out and see my shadow my woman don't love me
I believe I'll go back in

Yes John, you know what I mean...
Oh you know I'm a-walkin' wild...

Now I need some pettin' baby, baby you know what I mean
Now if you don't pet me baby, I believe I'll go back down in New Orleans
Because I'm that walkin' groundhog, at night I walks around in my den
Now if I come out and see my shadow my woman don't love me
yeah an' I believe I'll go back in

Chicken Feed

Chicken Feed
Performer(s): Bobbi Staff

It's not because the money you have is only chicken feed
It's because I know I'm not the only chicken you feed
I don't care if a boy has barely enough to feed me
I just wanta know that I'm the only chicken he feeds feed

I heard about you last night, out in the bright lights with old Suzie Brown
You took her to the movie show, you took her to the bowling bowl, you took her ev'ry place in town
Guess ya think it's funny out spendin' all your money, leavin' me home alone
Well from now on I'm gonna be anywhere else but home

It's not because the money you have is only chicken feed
It's because I know I'm not the only chicken you feed
I don't care if a boy has barely enough to feed me
I just wanta know that I'm the only chicken he feeds

I was sittin' home thinkin' how I'd like to be drinkin' a Coke somewhere in town
When a friend phoned me, and she told me you were feedin' old Suzie Brown
Well I got down low, got to feelin' so low that I thought I would die
Well I've got news for you, I'm not going to sit home and cry

It's not because the money you have is only chicken feed
It's because I know I'm not the only chicken you feed
I don't care if a boy has barely enough to feed me
I just wanta know that I'm the only chicken he feeds feed

I just wanta know that I'm the only chicken he feeds feed

My Very Good Friend The Milkman

My Very Good Friend The Milkman
Composer(s): Johnny Burke; Harold Spina
Performer(s): Fats Waller
and various other artists

My very good friend the milkman says
That I've been losing to much sleep
He doesn't like the hours I keep
And he suggests that you should marry me

My very good friend the mailman says
That it would make his burden less
If we both had the same address
And he suggests that you should marry me

Then there's a very friendly fellow who prints
All the latest real estate news
And every day he sends me blueprints
Of cottages with country views

My very good friends the neighbours say
That they've been watching little things I do
And they perceive that I love you
So I suggest that you should marry me

Grosse Galette

Grosse Galette
Composer(s): Bernard Lavilliers
Performer(s): Bernard Lavilliers

That Face

That Face
Composer(s): Lew Spence - Alan Bergman
Performer(s): Fred Astaire
and multiple other artists

That face, that face, that wonderful face!
It shines, it glows all over the place
And how I love to watch it change expressions
Each look becomes the pride of my possessions

I love that face, that face, it just isn't fair
You must forgive the way that I stare
But never will these eyes behold a sight that could replace

That face
That face
That face

I love those eyes, those lips, that fabulous smile
She laughs and Spring goes right out of style

Oh never will these eyes behold a sight that could replace
That face
That face
That face
That face
That face
That face
That face

My Unfinished Symphony

My Unfinished Symphony
Composer(s): Milton Carson
Performer(s): David Whitfield

My love is my unfinished symphony
When you kiss me violins begin to play
The melody I hear when you are near
Will linger on till tomorrow is today
My love's a rhapsody the breezes sigh
In my heart it sings and echoes to the sky
Such a love will live on through eternity
That's my unfinished symphony

Such a love will live on through eternity
That's my unfinished symphony

Gross Chapel - British Grenadiers

Gross Chapel - British Grenadiers
Composer(s): Steve Hanley; Craig Scanlon; Mark E. Smith
Performer(s): The Fall

Porterage down
The dark gross chapel
The stepped streets around now
Sells person mobile
Porterage down
Dark gross chapel
The stepped streets around now
Was introduced by a woman loose-limbed, slim
One look up to a whitewashed ugly wall
Whoosh made worse by dirty postcards
Trapped in their town
Their bracing criminals in panicky hall
No time for The Fall group
I'll put you down
Porterage down
To the dark gross chapel
These stepped streets around now
(So's cro-cellar...)
I'll put you down
To the gross chapel
You were right said Peter
Dying for a smoke
But you should've said to them please
(Job's idea) how little they (...)
(Like Canava's) coming up assaulted
They were as fed up as I was
Waiting outside after putting blame on you
Porterage down
(I slam) I am ailing
Porterage down
(...)
Wearing his clothes, they (...)
and their commandos live happy
In that scaly (eard)
Where (air) were commandos
Storm all pallisades
Our leaders will not refuse us
We will (tangle maze)
Throw them from glasses
And about the enemy's ears
Sing
Ta ra ra ra ra
For the British Grenadiers
I'll put you down

My Uncle

My Uncle
Composer(s): Graham Parsons; Chris Hillman
Originally performed by: The Flying Burrito Brothers

A letter came today from the draft board
With trembling hands I read the questionnaire
It asked me lots of things about my mama and papa
Now that ain't what I call exactly fair
So I'm heading for the nearest foreign border
Vancouver may be just my kind of town
'Cause they don't need the kind of law and order
That tends to keep a good man underground
A sad old soldier once told me a story
About a battlefield that he was on
He said a man should never fight for glory
He must know what is right and what is wrong
So I'm heading for the nearest foreign border
Vancouver may be just my kind of town
'Cause they don't need the kind of law and order
That tends to keep a good man underground, yeah
Now, I don't know how much I owe my uncle
But I suspect it's more than I can pay
He's asking me to sign a three-year contract
I guess I'll catch the first bus out today
So I'm heading for the nearest foreign border
Vancouver may be just my kind of town
'Cause they don't need the kind of law and order
That tends to keep a good man underground
That tends to keep a good man underground

Groovy Situation

Groovy Situation
Composer(s): Herman Davis; Russell R. Lewis
Performer(s): Gene Chandler;
and various other artists

That girl I'm gonna make her mine
If it takes all night
That girl I'm gonna make her mine
If it takes all night
Good evening sweet darling
May I ask your name
You seem to be lonely
Well don't worry I'm feeling the same

Oh, it's a groovy situation
A splendid combination
That we should meet
At a time like this
Oh it's a groovy situation
a splendid combination
You're something that
I just can't miss

It's been a long time sweet darling
since love has come my way
But I'm trying so hard
To find the right words to say

Oh, it's a groovy situation
A splendid combination
That we should meet
At a time like this
Oh it's a groovy situation
a splendid combination
You're something that
I just can't miss

That Certain Smile

That Certain Smile
Composer(s): D. Mitchell - Midge Ure
Performer(s): Midge Ure

Cross your heart and hope to die it's love
A perfect world in my minds eye and oh
The face that's watching me tonight - has me
Falling for that certain smile
Hold your hand up
swear to God
it's love
Help me to believe
because for all
The words you said to me tonight - has me
Falling for that certain smile
Falling for that certain smile
Take my tears and smile for me
it's love
Take my soul
my heart
my fears for oh
The way you're touching me tonight - has me
Falling for that certain smile
Bring me passion
bring me lust or love
Bring me only truth
because for all
The times you said to me tonight - have me
Falling for that certain smile
Falling for that certain smile
Falling for that certain smile

My Turn On Earth

My Turn On Earth
Composer(s): Lex de Azevedo; Carol Lynn Pearson

The world turns 'round like a merry go round
It lets some off and it takes some on
Some horses are high and some horses are low
Some turns are short and some turns are long

My turn, it's my turn
It ends with death it begins with birth
And it's my turn, it's my turn
It's my turn on Earth

Well never mind just how long you stay
The size or shade of the horse you've got
Just see all the sights and hear all the sounds
And feel the sun, and you'll learn a lot

My turn, it's my turn
It ends with death it begins with birth
And it's my turn, it's my turn
It's my turn on Earth

The world turns 'round like a Ferris wheel
Some times you're low and sometimes you're high
But even way down you can never forget
The thrill you feel when you're touchin' the sky

My turn, it's my turn
It ends with death it begins with birth
And it's my turn, it's my turn
It's my turn on Earth

Groovin'

Groovin'
Composer(s): Brigati; Cavaliere
Performer(s): The Young Rascals

Groovin' on a Sunday afternoon
Really couldn't get away too soon
I can't imagine anything that's better
The world is ours whenever we're together
There ain't a place I'd like to be instead of

Movin' down a crowded avenue
Doing anything we like to do
There's always lots of things that we can see
You can be anyone we like to be
All those happy people we could meet
Just groovin' on a Sunday afternoon
Really, couldn't get away too soon

We'll keep on spending sunny days this way
We're gonna talk and laugh our time away
I feel it coming closer day by day
Life would be ecstasy, you and me endlessly

Groovin' on a Sunday afternoon
Really couldn't get away to soon
No, No, No, No
Groovin'
Groovin'

My Truly, Truly Fair

My Truly, Truly Fair
Composer(s): Bob Merrill
Performer(s): Guy Mitchell
and various other artists

(Oh, hooo)
(Truly, truly fair)
(Truly, truly fair)
(Truly, truly, truly fair)
(There's songs to sing her)
(Trinkets to bring her)
(Flowers for her golden hair)

My truly, truly fair
Truly, truly fair
How I love my truly fair (his truly fair)
There's songs to sing her
Trinkets to bring her
Flowers for her golden hair

(Oh, hooo)
Now, some men plow the open plains
Some men sail the brine
But I'm in love with a pretty little maid
For work I have no time

She's my truly, truly fair
Truly, truly fair
How I love my truly fair (his truly fair)
There's songs to sing her
Trinkets to bring her
Flowers for her golden hair

(Oh, hooo)
Now once I sailed from Boston Bay
Bound for Singapore
But one day out and I missed her so
I swam right back to shore

Back to my truly fair
Truly, truly fair
How I love my truly fair
There's songs to sing her
Trinkets to bring her
Flowers for her golden hair

(Oh, hooo)
I love she and she loves me
Pardon if I boast
At times we fight all the live-long night
'Bout who loves who the most

My truly, truly fair
Truly, truly fair
How I love my truly fair (his truly fair)
There's songs to sing her
Trinkets to bring her
Flowers for her golden hair

(Oh, hooo)
Ah, Soon I'm gonna marry her
Love her till I die
There ain't no livin' on love alone
But still I'm gonna try

(Truly, truly fair)
(Truly, truly fair)
(How I love my truly fair)
There's songs to sing her
Trinkets to bring her
Flowers for her golden hair
(For her golden hair)
How I love my truly fair
(Loves his truly fair)
Wow! How I love my truly fair
(How he loves his truly fair)

Groove With You

Groove With You
Composer(s): Ernie Isley; Marvin Isley; Chris Jasper
Performer(s): The Isley Brothers;
Ambelique; Phyllis Hyman; Phil Perry

Oh, I've been thinking of you
and you've been thinking of me
Oh, I'll give all that I have
If you'll give all that I need
And oh, oh, oh, let's be fair
And I think its time we cleared the air
I've been watching you, you've been watching me
You know I've been wanting to groove with you
Girl, speak your mind
Groove with you
You been thinking all of this time
Groove with you
Aw baby what I wouldn't do
Groove with you
Just spending my days with you

Oh, love is all in your eyes
love fire is burning for me
You stay all in my mind
Oh woman, it's easy to see
Oh, let's be fair
You know it's time we cleared the air

You've been watching me, I've been watching you
You know, you know
Groove with you
Oh I want a groove, I want a groove
Groove with you
I've been thinking, you've been thinking, thinking of me
Groove with you
Oh what I wouldn't do to groove with you

Groove with you
You've been watching, I been watching watching you
Groove with you
And every chance I get, from the first time we meet
I want a groove with you

Texas Trilogy: Train Ride

Texas Trilogy: Train Ride
Composer(s): Steven Fromholz
First release by: Steven Fromholz - 1969

Well, the last time I remember that train stopping at the depot
Was when me and my Aunt Veta came riding back from Waco
I remember I was wearing my long pants and we was sharing
Conversation with a man who sold ball-point pens and paper
And the train stopped once in Clifton where my Aunt bought me some ice cream
And my Mom was there to meet us when the train pulled into Kopperl

But now kids at night break window lights
And the sound of trains only remains
In the memory of the ones like me
Who have turned their backs on the splintered cracks
In the walls that stand on the railroad land
Where we used to play and then run away from the depot man

I remember me and brother used to run down to the depot
Just to listen to the whistle when the train pulled into Kopperl
And the engine big and shiny, black as coal that fed the fire
And the engineer would smile and say, "Howdy, how ya fellows?"
And the people by the windows playing cards and reading papers
Looked as far away to us as next summer's school vacation

But now kids at night break window lights
And the sound of trains only remains
In the memory of the ones like me
Who have turned their backs on the splintered cracks
In the walls that stand on the railroad land
Where we used to play and then run away from the depot man
