Billie's Blues

Billie's Blues
Composer(s): Billie Holiday
Performer(s): Billie Holiday
and various other artists

I love my man
I'm a liar if I say I don't
I love my man
I'm a liar if I say I don't
But I'll quit my man
I'm a liar if I say I won't

I've been your slave, baby
Ever since I've been your babe
I've been your slave
Ever since I've been your babe
But before I'll be your dog
I'll see you in your grave

My man wouldn't give me no breakfast
Would'nt give me no dinner
Squawked about me supper then he put me outdoors
Had the nerve to lay a matchbox on my clothes
I didn't have so many
But I had a long, long way to go

I ain't good-looking
And my hair ain't curled
I ain't good-looking
And my hair ain't curled
But my mother, she gave me something
That's gonna tear me through this world

Some men like me 'cause I'm happy
Some 'cause I'm happy
Some call me honey
Others think I got money
Some tell me "Billie,
Baby you're built for speed"
If you put that all together
It makes me everything a good man needs

Le Jazz Est Revenu

Le Jazz Est Revenu
Composer(s): Charles Aznavour
Performer(s): Charles Aznavour

Un certain temps aux oubliettes
Sauf pour quelques fanas têtus
Le voilà parti bille en tête
Le jazz est revenu

Il avait bâti son histoire
Sans publicité superflue
Pour revivre ses jours de gloire
Le jazz est revenu

Soudain les sceptiques s'inquiètent
Il n'est donc pas échec et mat
Puisque aussi les jeunes se mettent
Au scat

Bien des musicos réapprennent
A jouer cool et détendu
C'est comme un nouveau phénomène
Le jazz est revenu

Bousculé par la concurrence
On pensait son temps révolu
Quand sortant de l'indifférence
Le jazz est revenu

Il a connu les controverses
Ses détracteurs sont confondus
Car les déserts ça se traverse
Le jazz est revenu

Chérie suis moi pour un voyage
Tout prés de la gare du Nord
Ou ça bastonne et déménage
A mort

Allez viens ne sois pas bégueule
Tu sortiras convaincue
On va en prendre plein la gueule
Le jazz est revenu

Fini les galères et l'exode
Fini les disques invendus
Dans le vent, de toutes les modes
Le jazz est revenu

Et voilà qu'on le catéchise
On le sanctifie doux Jésus
Dans les sacro-sainte églises
Le jazz est revenu

C'est la musique qui m'inspire
De Frank à Ray d'Ella à Bing
Et combien d'autres dont j'admire
Le swing

Sur tout les coins de la planète
Parés de toute les vertus
Il prend part à toutes les fêtes
Il anime même la rue
Connu et reconnu
Le jazz
Le jazz est revenu

Billie Jean

Billie Jean
Composer(s): Michael Jackson
Originally performed by: Michael Jackson
Covered by various other artists

She was more like a beauty queen from a movie scene
I said don't mind, but what do you mean I am the one
Who will dance on the floor in the round
She said I am the one will dance on the floor in the round

She told me her name was Billie Jean, as she caused a scene
Then every head turned with eyes that dreamed of being the one
Who will dance on the floor in the round

People always told me be careful of what you do
And don't go around breaking young girls' hearts
And mother always told me be careful of who you love
And be careful of what you do 'cause the lie becomes the truth

Billie Jean is not my lover
She's just a girl who claims that I am the one
But the kid is not my son
She says I am the one, but the kid is not my son

For forty days and forty nights
The law was on her side
But who can stand when she's in demand
Her schemes and plans
'Cause we danced on the floor in the round
So take my strong advice, just remember to always think twice
(Do think twice)

She told my baby we'd danced till three, then she looked at me
Then showed a photo my baby cried his eyes were like mine (oh, no!)
'Cause we danced on the floor in the round, baby

People always told me be careful of what you do
And don't go around breaking young girls' hearts
She came and stood right by me
Then the smell of sweet perfume
This happened much too soon
She called me to her room

Billie Jean is not my lover
She's just a girl who claims that I am the one
But the kid is not my son

Billie Jean is not my lover
She's just a girl who claims that I am the one
But the kid is not my son
She says I am the one, but the kid is not my son

She says I am the one, but the kid is not my son
Billie Jean is not my lover
She's just a girl who claims that I am the one
But the kid is not my son
She says I am the one, but the kid is not my son

She says I am the one, but the kid is not my son
She says I am the one

Billie Jean is not my lover
Billie Jean is not my lover
Billie Jean is not my lover
Billie Jean is not my lover
Billie Jean is not my lover

Billie Jean is
Billie Jean is
Billie Jean is

Not my lover
Not my lover
Not my lover
Not my lover

Billie Jean is not my lover (she is just a girl)
Billie Jean is not my lover (she is just a girl)
Billie Jean is not my lover (she is just a girl)
Billie Jean is not my lover (she is just a girl)

Billie Jean is

Le Jardin Du Luxembourg

Le Jardin Du Luxembourg
Composer(s): Claude Lemesle - Vito Pallavicini
Performer(s): Joe Dassin - Dominique Poulain - Julian Dash

Je te croyais, tu me mentais
C'était trop beau pour être bien
Je suis partie chercher plus loin

Je te disais que je t'aimais
Et j'y croyais et c'était vrai
Tu étais tout, tout est fini
Tu es partie, tu es partout

Moi, je suis presque bien
Ma vie continue
Je vais comme elle vient
Mais si tu m'appelais
Tu verrais comme rien ne change

Moi, je suis presque bien
La vie continue
Je vais comme elle vient
Mais si tu m'appelais
Tu verrais comme rien ne change

Moins loin dans l'avenir
Y a-t-il un chemin pour nous reunir?

Viens, viens n'importe quand

Tous mes chemins me mènent où tu iras

Performer(s): Yves Montand; Simone Signoret

Des milliers et de milliers d'années
Ne sauraient suffire
Pour dire
La petite seconde d'éternité
Où tu m'as embrassé

Bill Bailey, Won't You Please Come Home

Bill Bailey, Won't You Please Come Home
Composer(s): Hughie Cannon

On one summer's day, the sun was shining fine
The lady love of old Bill Bailey was hanging clothes on the line
In her back yard, and weeping hard
She married a B & O brakeman that took and throw'd her down
Bellering like a prune-fed calf with a big gang hanging 'round
And to that crowd she yelled out loud

Won't you come home Bill Bailey, won't you come home?
She moans the whole day long
I'll do the cooking darling, I'll pay the rent
I knows I've done you wrong
Member that rainy eve that I drove you out
With nothing but a fine tooth comb?
I know I'se to blame; well ain't that a shame?
Bill Bailey won't you please come home?

Bill drove by that door in an automobile
A great big diamond coach and footman, hear that big wench squeal
"He's all alone," I heard her groan
She hollered through that door, "Bill Bailey is you sore?
Stop a minute; won't you listen to me? Won't I see you no more?"
Bill winked his eye, as he heard her cry

Won't you come home Bill Bailey, won't you come home?
She moans the whole day long
I'll do the cooking darling, I'll pay the rent
I knows I've done you wrong
Member that rainy eve that I drove you out
With nothing but a fine tooth comb?
I know I'se to blame; well ain't that a shame?
Bill Bailey won't you please come home?

Bike

Bike
Composer(s): Syd Barrett
Performer(s): Pink Floyd;
Harvette; Television Personalities

I've got a bike
You can ride it if you like
It's got a basket, a bell that rings
And things to make it look good
I'd give it to you if I could
But I borrowed it

You're the kind of girl
That fits in with my world
I'll give you anything
Everything if you want things

I've got a cloak
It's a bit of a joke
There's a tear up the front, it's red and black
I've had it for months
If you think it could look good
Then I guess it should

You're the kind of girl
That fits in with my world
I'll give you anything
Everything if you want things

I know a mouse
And he hasn't got a house
I don't know why I call him Gerald
He's getting rather old
But he's a good mouse

You're the kind of girl
That fits in with my world
I'll give you anything
Everything if you want things

I've got a clan
Of gingerbread men
Here a man, there a man
Lots of gingerbread men
Take a couple if you wish
They're on the dish

You're the kind of girl
That fits in with my world
I'll give you anything
Everything if you want things

I know a room
Of musical tunes
Some rhyme, some ching
Most of them are clockwork
Let's go into the other room
And make them work

Lorsqu'un ancien me dit: "Pas d'accord!

Composer(s): Andy Free; Cahelo
Performer(s): Jimmy Frey

We liepen bruingebrand in zee

Oh yo... Oh yo...
Monsieur Bon Dieu, toi bien gentil
Ramener moi dans mon pays
Mais viens Bon Dieu... Viens mon secours
Moi pas pouvoir nager toujours
Pays trop loin pour arriver
Et pauvre nègre fatigué
Ça y est... Fini!... Monsieur Bon Dieu!...
Adieu pays... Tout l'monde adieu...
Monsieur Bon Dieu, c'est pas gentil
Moi pas vouloir quitter pays
Oh yo... Oh yo...

Bigger Than Real

Bigger Than Real
Performer(s): Janis Ian

Streets of the city
Are dirty and gritty now
Ain't it a pitiful sight
Sing hallelujah and praise California
Pedestrians move to the right
I'm waiting here for the man with the answer
To ease my soul
I've got the blues so bad it can't be true
Honey, I'm waiting on you

The people just walk
And the sidewalks talk
And everyone's been derailed
Everything's bigger than real here
Honey, I don't feel too well
These buildings are singing the blues
You've got to use your sins
Honey, I'd like just
To meet with the righteous
But I don't know where to begin

And the tambourine
It's playing for free
It's telling me trust in the Lord
Sing Hare Krishna or Jesus or Mithra
It don't matter who anymore
They say got relieves
If I'd only believe
But I just can't whore
Honey, I'm trying
To deal with the dying
And I can't score

So here we all are
Waiting for God
Or someone who looks just like him
Everything's bigger than real here
Honey, I just can't win
They say the downtrodden shall rule
But ain't it a fool likes to kneel
Big city news is the smalltown blues
Honey, it's bigger than real

Big Foot

Big Foot
Composer(s): Johnny Cash
Performer(s): Johnny Cash

But the land was already claimed by a people when the
cowboy came and when the soldiers came
The story of the American Indian is in a lot of ways a story
of tragedy like that day at Wounded Knee, South Dakota

Bigfoot was an Indian Chief of the Miniconjou band
a band of Miniconjou Sioux from South Dakota land
Bigfoot said to Custer, stay away from Crazy Horse
but Custer crossed into Sioux land, and he never came back across
Then Bigfoot led his people to a place called Wounded Knee
and they found themselves surrounded by the Seventh Cavalry

Big Chief Bigfoot, rise up from your bed
Miniconjou babies cry for their mothers lyin' dead

Bigfoot was down with a fever when he reached Wounded Knee
and his people all were prisoners of the Seventh Cavalry
Two hundred women and children and another hundred men
raised up a white flag of peace, but peace did not begin
An accidental gunshot, and Bigfoot was first to die
and over the noise of the rifles you could hear the babies cry

Big Chief Bigfoot, it' s good that you can't see
revenge is being wrought by Custer's Seventh Cavalry

Then smoke hung over the canyon on that cold December day
all was death and dying around where Bigfoot lay
Farther on up the canyon some had tried to run and hide
but death showed no favourites, women, men and children died
One side called it a massacre, the other a victory
but the white flag is still waving today at Wounded Knee

Big Chief Bigfoot, your Miniconjou band
is more 'n than remembered here in South Dakota land
Big Chief Bigfoot, your Miniconjou band
is more 'n than remembered here in South Dakota land

Semafori rossi
brillano in paradiso
con parcheggi, boutique, e alberghi
e locali molto in
gira il mondo
ma la gente
mentre parla e guarda
non vede e non sente
semafori rossi
brillano in paradiso
hanno chiuso le piante
in una specie di museo
e poi c’hanno chiesto
un dollaro e mezzo al biglietto
gira il mondo
ma la gente
parla e guarda intanto
non vede e non sente
piastrelle e cemento, ora
coprono il paradiso
Hey contadino
butta via quel DDT e si
e dammi mele macchiate
ma lascia le api cantare
per favore
gira il mondo
ma la gente
parla e guarda e intanto
non vede e non sente
semafori rossi
brillano in paradiso
ieri la porta
si è aperta all’improvviso
ed un trattore giallo
la mia casa e la mia terra si è
portato via
gira il mondo
ma la gente
parla e guarda intanto
non vede e non sente
piastrelle e cemento, ora
coprono il paradiso
stanotte la porta
si è aperta all’improvviso, ancora
ed un taxi giallo
il mio uomo si è portato via
ancora
gira il mondo
ma la gente
parla e guarda e intanto
non vede e non sente
semafori rossi
accendono il paradiso
semafori rossi
brillano in paradiso
semafori rossi
brillano in paradiso
coprono il paradiso
accendono il paradiso

Performer(s): Showaddywaddy

One day I'm gonna be a big big star
Rolling in money, strolling to partys in a Roller car
One day I'm gonna be a big big star
But oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh

Dead in the morning, get up at four
What is the sunrise, what is it for?
Look to the evening, breaking my back
What is the sunrise, what is it at?

One day I'm gonna be a big big star
Rolling in money, strolling to partys in a Roller car
One day I'm gonna be a big big star
But oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh

Ooh, oooh, oooh, ooh, oooh, oooh, big big - big big star
Ooh, oooh, oooh, ooh, oooh, oooh, big big - big big star

Better than working, sign on the dole
Spend all my time singing 'Hey Rock and Roll'
Something to gain, nothing to lose
What would you give to be in my shoes?

One day I'm gonna be a big big star
Rolling in money, strolling to partys in a Roller car
One day I'm gonna be a big big star
But oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh

Big big - big big star (I wanna be a star)
(Repeat)

Le Grand Pan

Le Grand Pan
Composer(s): Georges Brassens
First release by: Georges Brassens - 1965

Big, Big Day Tomorrow

Big, Big Day Tomorrow
Composer(s): Scott Turner; Charlie Williams; Coy Ziegler
Performer(s): Rose Maddox;
Kay Adams; Sanford Clark

Gotta buy a brand new dress
Better buy new shoes
Gotta get a good night's sleep
Tomorrow comes the blues

There's no way I can stop them
What will be will be
I've got a big, big day tomorrow
My baby's leaving me

I've heard him tell his new love
"Tomorrow we'll go away"
If that's what you wanna do, love
I'll never stand in your way

Gotta practice how to smile
And face it gracefully
I've got a big, big day tomorrow
My baby's leaving me

I've heard him tell his new love
"Tomorrow we'll go away"
If that's what you wanna do, love
I'll never stand in your way

Gotta practice how to smile
And face it gracefully
I've got a big, big day tomorrow
My baby's leaving me
