Reviens Donc Chez Nous

Reviens Donc Chez Nous
Danish & English Titles:
Kom Hjem Til Mig Igen; Bring It On Home To Me
Composer(s): Georges Aber; Sam Cooke
Performer(s): Johnny Hallyday
Oh! Reviens-moi avec ton amour
Reviens donc chez nous
Allez reviens!

The Sailor's Hornpipe

The Sailor's Hornpipe
Composer(s): Vivian Stanshall
Performer(s): Vivian Stanshall
The hallway
From outside, an ordinary house
A great house, true - four hundred and eighty three rooms
each one with its own marble wash basin and douche, bidet as it may
But inside, and the positions are reversed
A human failing, some say a disease
but a disease that Sir Francis Dashwood knew, and knew it well
Upstairs, inside and a revelation
It's a discotheque
No, no, uh... there are paintings, real
and look here - a rare seventeenth century masterpiece
and if I can scrape a little of it off
beneath I can find hidden a fourteenth century underpiece
Made entirely of tiny pieces of eggshells
this lurid work has caused controversy in the world of embroidery and anthropologicky
No, I'll say it again, anthropolology
Umm... no quite possibly make an anthropol, no, uh, I mean an apolog... ph...
It has enthralled distinguished professors
and in layman's language is "blinking well baffling"
But to be more obtusely, "buggered if I know"
Yes, "buggered if I know"
And that's all we've gleaned so far from experts in fourteenth century painting
renaissance, greengrocers, and recently revived members of the public
Buggered if I know

Cloud Nine

Cloud Nine
Composer(s): Barrett Strong; Norman J. Whitfield
Originally performed by: The Temptations
Covered by various other artists
Childhood part of my life it wasn't very pretty
You see I was born and raised in the slums of the city
It was a one-room shack that slept
Ten other children besides me
We hardly had enough food or room to sleep
It was hard times needed something
To ease my troubled mind
Listen my father didn't know the meaning of work
He disrespected momma and treated us like dirt
I left home seeking a job that I never did find
Depressed and downhearted I took to cloud 9
I'm doing fine up here on cloud 9
Listen one more time I'm doing fine up here on cloud 9
Folks down there tell me
They say give yourself a chance, son
Don't let life pass you by
But the world of reality is a rat race
Where only the strongest survive
It's a dog eat dog world
And that ain't no lie
Listen it ain't even safe no more
To walk the streets at night
I'm doing fine on cloud 9
Let me tell you about cloud 9
Cloud 9, you can be what you wanna be
You ain't got no responsibility
And every man, every man is free
And you're a million miles from reality
I wanna say I love the life I live
And I'm gonna live the life I love
Up here on cloud 9
I'm riding high on cloud 9
You're as free as a bird in flight
There's no difference between day and night
It's a world of love and harmony
You're a million miles from reality, cloud 9

Rêver

Rêver
Composer(s): René Rouzaud;
Rachel Thoreau; Guy Luypaerts
Performer(s): Lucienne Boyer
{Refrain:}
{Refrain}

The Sailor With The Navy Blue Eyes

The Sailor With The Navy Blue Eyes
Composer(s): Al Hoffman - Victor Mizzy - Irv Taylor
Performer(s): Harry Roy & His Band; Spike Jones
Who’s got girls in every port
Hanging around like flies
Yo-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho
The sailor with the navy blue eyes
Who’s the guy they love to buy
Dozens of socks and ties
Yo-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho
The sailor with the navy blue eyes
When the boat comes home after crossing the foam
He’s still at sea
Thinking, wond’ring who’s he gonna take a-rowing on the lake
Who’s the boy who’s full of joy
Waving the most goodbyes
Yo-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho
The sailor with the navy blue eyes
When the boat comes home after crossing the foam
And he’s still at sea
He’ll start a-wond’ring, worrying, all of a flurrying
Who’s he gonna take rowing on the lake
Now who’s the boy who’s full of joy
Waving the most goodbyes
Yo-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho
The sailor with the navy blue eyes

Cloud Lucky Seven

Cloud Lucky Seven
Composer(s): Charles Tobias; Peter DeRose
Performer(s): Guy Mitchell;
Ambrose; Mitch Miller
When you're in love, when you're in love, when you're in love
You're walkin' on cloud lucky seven
Hah, seven is the cloud nearest heaven
When you're in love, when you're in love, when you're in love
You never know, you never know, you never know
There's no way that you can detect it
It can happen when you least expect it
You never know, you never know, you never know
When you meet someone new
You're on clouds one and two
With someone who
makes you feel like singing
As you see more and more
of the one you adore
You're on clouds three and four
And bell are ringing
When you reach five and six
Then your heart bumps and kicks
There's one more cloud to go
When you're in love, when you're in love, when you're in love
You're walkin' on cloud lucky seven
Hah, seven is the cloud nearest heaven
When you're in love, when you're in love, when you're in love
Love, love
When you're in love
When you meet someone new
You're on clouds one and two
With someone who
makes you feel like singing
As you see more and more
of the one you adore
You're on clouds three and four
And bell are ringing
When you reach five and six
Then your heart bumps and kicks
There's one more cloud to go
When you're in love, when you're in love, when you're in love
You're walkin' on cloud lucky seven
Wow, seven is the cloud nearest heaven
When you're in love, when you're in love, when you're in love
Love, love
When you're in love

Reveline

Reveline
Performer(s): Georges Moustaki
Pour un bouquet de lilas
Qu'il t'offrit ce jour-là
Reveline
Tu as rêvé d'un jardin
Fleurissant tes matins
Reveline
Pour un petit brin de cour
Tu as rêvé d'amour
Reveline
Comme si un arc-en-ciel
Suffit pour que le ciel
S'illumine
Reviens sur terre
Ma douce amie
La vie n'est guère
Que la vie
Avec un soleil pâlot
Qui se posait sur l'eau
Reveline
Tu as rêvé que l'été
Durait l'éternité
Reveline
Une balade en bateau
Jusqu'au pont de Puteaux
Reveline
T'a fait rêver de croisière
Mexico, le cap Vert
L'Argentine
Reviens sur terre
Ma douce amie
La vie n'est guère
Que la vie
Lorsque mon cœur s'assombrit
Et que je broie du gris
Reveline
Je voudrais avoir tes yeux
Pour ne voir que du bleu
Reveline
Toi, qui changes l'eau en vin
Toi qui rêves sans fin
Reveline
Montre-moi comment tu fais
Apprends-moi à rêver
Reveline
Ne change guère
Ma douce amie
La vie n'est guère
Que la vie

Do It Again A Little Bit Slower

Do It Again A Little Bit Slower
Performer(s): Jon & Robin & The In Crowd
Kiss me (kiss me), I love the way that you kiss me (kiss me, ooo)
There's only one thing wrong with the way you kiss me (kiss me, yeah)
Now your kisses are sweeter than sugar & plenty strong enough
But the bad part is you don't do it slow enough, oh
Do it again just a little bit slower
Do it again just a little bit slower
I just can't stand it when it's over
Do it again just a little bit slower
Hold me (hold me), I love the way that you hold me (hold me, ooo)
There's only one thing wrong with the way you hold me (hold me, yeah)
Maybe you'd just laugh if I let you know too soon
But the thing about this, you just let go too soon, oh baby
Do it again just a little bit slower
Do it again just a little bit slower
I just can't stand it when it's over
Do it again just a little bit slower
Slower, slower, kiss me just a little bit slower
Tell me that you love me, hold me fast, make it last &...

Clothes Line Saga

Clothes Line Saga
Composer(s): Bob Dylan
Originally performed by: Bob Dylan
Covered by: Suzzy Roche
After a while we took in the clothes
Nobody said very much
Just some old wild shirts and a couple pairs of pants
Which nobody really wanted to touch
Mama come in and picked up a book
An’ papa asked her what it was
Someone else asked, "what do you care?"
Papa said, "well, just because"
Then they started to take back their clothes
Hang ’em on the line
It was january the thirtieth
And everybody was feelin’ fine
The next day everybody got up
Seein’ if the clothes were dry
The dogs were barking, a neighbor passed
Mama, of course, she said, "hi!"
"have you heard the news? "he said, with a grin
"the vice-president’s gone mad!"
"where?" "downtown" "when?"
"last night"
"hmm, say, that’s too bad!"
"well, there’s nothin’ we can do about it," said the neighbor
"it’s just somethin’ we’re gonna have to forget"
"yes, I guess so," said ma
Then she asked me if the clothes was still wet
I reached up, touched my shirt
And the neighbor said, "are those clothes yours?"
I said, "some of ’em, not all of ’em"
He said, "ya always help out around here with the chores?"
I said, "sometime, not all the time"
Then my neighbor, he blew his nose
Just as papa yelled outside
"mama wants you t’ come back in the house and bring them clothes"
Well, I just do what I’m told
So, I did it, of course
I went back in the house and mama met me
And then I shut all the doors

Revelation (Mother Earth)

Revelation (Mother Earth)
Composer(s): Bob Daisley;
Ozzy Osbourne; Randy Rhoads
Performer(s): Ozzy Osbourne;
Novembers Doom; Alex Skolnick Trio
Mother please forgive them
For they know not what they do
Looking back in history's books
It seems it's nothing new
Oh! Let my mother live
Heaven is for heroes
And hell is full of fools
Stupidity, no will to live
They're breaking God's own rules
Please let my mother live
Father, of all creation
I think we're all going wrong
The course they're taking
Seems to be breaking
And it won't take too long
Children of the future
Watching empires fall
Madness the cup they drink from
Self destruction the toll
I had a vision, l saw the world burn
And the seas had turned red
The sun had fallen, the final curtain
In the land of the dead
Mother, please show the children
Before it's too late
To fight each other, there's no-one winning
We must fight all the hate

The Sad Cafe

The Sad Cafe
Composer(s): Joe Walsh - Glenn Frey - Don Henley - J.D. Souther
First release by: Eagles - 1979
Covered by multiple other artists
Out in the shiny night, the rain was softly falling
The tracks that ran down the boulevard had all been washed away
Out of the silver light, the past came softly calling
And I remember the times we spent inside the Sad Cafe
Oh, it seemed like a holy place protected by amazing grace
And we would sing right out loud, the things we could not say
We thought we could change this world with words like "love" and "freedom"
We were part of the lonely crowd
Inside the Sad Cafe
Oh, expecting to fly
we would meet on that shore in the sweet by and by
Some of their dreams came true
some just passed away
And some of the stayed behind inside the Sad Cafe
The clouds rolled in and hid that shore
Now that Glory Train, it don't stop here no more
Now I look at the years gone by
and wonder at the powers that be
I don't know why fortune smiles on some and let's the rest go free
Maybe the time has drawn the faces I recall
But things in this life change very slowly
if they ever change at all
There's no use in asking why
it just turned out that way
So meet me at midnight baby inside the Sad Cafe
Why don't you meet me at midnight baby
inside the Sad Cafe

Closing Time

Closing Time
Danish Title: Lukketid
Composer(s): Leonard Cohen
Originally performed by: Leonard Cohen
So we're drinking and we're dancing and the bards are really happening
And the Johnny Walker wisdom's running high
And my very sweet companion, she's an angel of compassion
She's rubbing half the world against her thigh
And every drinker, every dancer lifts a happy face to thank her
And the fiddler fiddles something so sublime
(Repeat:)
And the women tear their blouses off
And the men they dance on the polka dots
And it's partner found and partner lost
And it's hell to pay when the fiddler stops
At Closing Time
Closing Time
Well, we're lonely, we're romantic and the cider's spiked with mushrooms
And the Holy Spirit's crying, "Where's the beef?"
And the moon is spinning naked and the summer night is fragrant
With the mighty expectation of relief
So we struggle and we stagger down the snakes and up the ladders
To the tower where the blessed hours chime
(Repeat)
And I swear it happened just like this
A sigh, a cry, and a hungry kiss
The gates of love they budged an inch
And I can't say much has happened since
But Closing Time
Closing Time
I loved you for your beauty but that doesn't make a fool of me
You were in it for your beauty too
And I loved you for your body, there's a voice that sounds like God to me
Declaring that your body's really you
Well I loved you when our love was blessed
And I love you know there's nothing left
But sorrow and a sense of overtime
And I missed you since the place got wrecked
And I just don't care what happens next
Looks like freedom but it feels like death
It's something in between I guess
It's Closing Time
Closing Time
So we're drinking and we're dancing but there's nothing really happening
And the place is dead as heaven on a Saturday night
And my very close companion gets me hot and gets me laughing
She's a hundred but she's wearing something tight
And I lift my glass to the awful truth that you can't reveal to the ears of youth
Except to say it isn't worth a dime
And the whole damn place goes crazy twice
And it's once for the Devil and it's for the Christ
But the boss don't like those dizzy heights, we're busted in the blinding lights
Of Closing Time

The Sad Bag Of Shaky Jake

The Sad Bag Of Shaky Jake
Composer(s): Steve Marriott
Performer(s): Humble Pie
When I was just a kid back in Abeline
I had to use a gun, well, for my own sake
I shot a man down when I was just eighteen
And from that day they call me Shaky Jake
Shaky Jake, boy, what you gonna do
Texas Rangers coming after you
Here's the price you pay for one mistake
So get off the streets it's Shaky Jake
Ma says I was born under bad sign
I was lookin' for the chance to make or break
I cut my teeth on a brandin' iron
I'm the devil's own son, I'm Shaky Jake
Shaky Jake, boy, what you gonna do
Texas Rangers coming after you
Here's the price you pay for one mistake
So get off the streets it's Shaky Jake
I keep on the run now
I travel by night
I don't need anyone
But someone, one day, somewhere's gonna see me right
Dig a hole about six foot deep
Pray the Lord my soul to take
I don't want flowers, and nobody's gonna weep
Here lies that outlaw, Shaky Jake
Oh, Shaky Jake, boy, what you gonna do
Texas Rangers coming after you
Here's the price you pay for one mistake
So get off the streets it's Shaky Jake
Shakey Jake
Shakey Jake
Shakey Jake
Shakey Jake
Shakey Jake
Shakey Jake
Oh, Shaky Jake, boy, what you gonna do
Texas Rangers coming after you
Here's the price you pay for one mistake
So get off the streets it's Shaky Jake

Closing My Eyes

Closing My Eyes
Composer(s): Peter Green
Performer(s): Fleetwood Mac; Naked Blue
Now it's the same as before
And I'm alone again
With no sorrow for myself
And I'm blaming no one else
And closing my eyes
And seeing you standing there
Now it's the same as before
You've touched me with your love
And though you're in my heart
We're still a world apart
As now I'm back to the time
Where I would search for a dream
But no use to try anymore as before
Someday I'll die, and maybe then I'll be with you
So I'm closing my eyes
To hear the people laugh
For they're all aglow
Not knowing where to go
But is it asking too much
When the question is what to do
With the life I'll have
It seems I know nothing now
Except my love for you
And the strength in my hands
To go on feeding your smile

Reunited

Reunited
Composer(s): Dino Fekaris; Freddie Perren
Performer(s): Peaches & Herb
Herb:
I was a fool to ever leave your side
Me minus you is such a lonely ride
The breakup we had has made me lonesome and sad
I realize I love you 'cause I want you bad, hey, hey
Peaches:
I spent the ev'ning with the radio
Regret the moment that I let you go
Our quarrel was such a way of learnin' so much
I know now that I love you 'cause I need your touch, hey, hey
Both:
Reunited and it feels so good
Reunited 'cause we understood
There's one perfect fit
And, sugar, this one is it
We Both are so excited 'cause we're reunited, hey, hey
Peaches:
I sat here starin' at the same old wall
Came back to life just when I got your call
I wished I could climb right through the telephone line
And give you what you want so you will still be mine, hey, hey
Herb:
I can't go cheatin', honey, I can't play
I found it very hard to stay away
As we reminisce on precious moments like this
I'm glad we're back together 'cause I missed your kiss, hey, hey
Both:
Reunited and it feels so good
Reunited 'cause we understood
There's one perfect fit
And, sugar, this one is it
We Both are so excited 'cause we're reunited, hey, hey
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Ba-a-a-by
Herb: Lover, lover, this is solid love
Peaches: And you're exactly what I'm dreamin' of
Herb: All through the day
Peaches: And all through the night
Both: I'll give you all the love I have with all my might, hey, hey
Both:
Reunited and it feels so good
Reunited 'cause we understood.......

The Russians Were Rushin' The Yanks Started Yankin'

The Russians Were Rushin' The Yanks Started Yankin'
Composer(s): Carey Morgan - Charles McCarron
I dreamed of a scene in an old soldier's home
The year was nineteen fifty three
With medals galore that he'd won in this war
He sat smoking peacefully
Tell me of the war of nineteen seventeen
Said his grandson who stood by his side
How did they fix up that terrible mix up?
And proudly the old man replied
My dream quickly changed to a schoolroom that day
The lesson was geography
A child raised her hand, said, "I don't understand
This map looks all wrong to me
What is this strange place that is marked Germany?"
And the teacher replied with a roar
"Why, that's an old map, dear since we had that scrap, dear
There ain't no such place anymore
The Russsians were rushin' the Prussians
The Prussians were crushin' the Russians
The Balkins were balkin' and Turkey was squawkin'
Rasputin disputtin' and Italy scootin'
The Boches all bulled Bolshevikis
The British were skittish at sea
But the good Lord I'm thankin'
The Yanks started yankin'
And yanked Kaiser Bill up a tree
The Russsians were rushin' the Prussians
The Prussians were crushin' the Russians
The good old Italians were hurling batallions
Canadians raidin' and Frenchmen invadin'
The Bulgars were bulgin' the Belgians
But Yanks started yankin' you see
And when Peace was conceded
Some new maps were needed
They ruined the geography

Closer Still

Closer Still
Composer(s): Tish Hinojosa
Performer(s): Tish Hinojosa; Emily Singleton
"Closer Still than e'er my arms have held you
Or the beating rhythm of my heart
I belong to you in frozen mem'ries
And framed in gold is my desire
Closer Still than starlight soft upon you
For though a million shine tonight
Deep inside is where one lonely forgotten
Dream is waiting here
Closer Still
Closer Still is every word that takes me
To the fire burnin' without end
In the moonlight pale a song is sayin'
That time will find us back again
Closer Still our shadows must be swayin'
For I can almost hear you say
Deep inside is where one lonely forgotten
Dream is waiting here
Closer Still"
