Comin' Back To Me

Comin' Back To Me
Composer(s): Marty Balin
First release by: Jefferson Airplane
The summer had inhaled
And held its breath too long
The winter looked the same
As if it had never gone
And through an open window
Where no curtain hung
I saw you, I saw you
Coming back to me
One begins to read between
The pages of a look
The sound of sleepy music
And suddenly, you're hooked
I saw you, I saw you
Coming back to me
You came to stay and live my way
Scatter my love like leaves in the wind
You always say that you won't go away
But I know what it always has been
It always has been
A transparent dream
Beneath an occasional sigh...
Most of the time
I just let it go by
Now I wish it hadn't begun
I saw you, I saw you
Coming back to me
Strolling the hill
Overlooking the shore
I realize I've been here before
The shadow in the mist
Could have been anyone
I saw you, I saw you
Coming back to me
Small things like reasons
Are put in a jar
Whatever happened to wishes
Wished on a star?
Was it just something
That I made up for fun?
I saw you, I saw you
Coming back to me

Rock 'N' Roll Singer

Rock 'N' Roll Singer
Composer(s): Bon Scott; Angus Young; Malcolm Young
Performer(s): AC/DC;
The Glasspack; Mark Kozelek
My Daddy was workin' nine to five
When my Momma was havin' me
By the time I was half alive
I knew what I was gonna be
I left school and grew my hair
They didn't understand
They wanted me to be respected as
A doctor or a lawyer man
(But I had other plans)
Gonna be a rock 'n' roll singer
Gonna be a rock 'n' roll star
Gonna be a rock 'n' roll singer
I'm gonna be a rock 'n' roll
A rock 'n' roll star
Well I worked real hard and bought myself
A rock 'n' roll guitar
I gotta be on top some day
I wanna be a star
I can see my name in lights
And I can see the queue
I got the devil in my blood
Tellin' me what to do
(And I'm all ears)
Gonna be a rock 'n' roll singer
Gonna be a rock 'n' roll star
Gonna be a rock 'n' roll singer
I'm gonna be a rock 'n' roll
a rock 'n' roll star
(I hear it pays well)
Well you can stick your nine to five livin'
And your collar and your tie
And stick your moral standards
'Cause it's all a dirty lie
You can stick your golden handshake
And you can stick your silly rules
And all the other shit
That they teach to kids in school
('Cause I ain't no fool)
Gonna be a rock 'n' roll singer
Gonna be a rock 'n' roll star
Gonna be a rock 'n' roll singer
I'm gonna be a rock 'n' roll
A rock 'n' roll star
Gonna be a rock 'n' roll singer
Gonna be a rock 'n' roll star
Gonna be a rock 'n' roll singer
I'm gonna be a rock 'n' roll
A rock 'n' roll star
Yes I are!

The Vatican Rag

The Vatican Rag
Composer(s): Tom Lehrer
Performer(s): Tom Lehrer
Another big news story of the year concerned the ecumenical council in Rome, known as Vatican II
Among the things they did, in an attempt to make the church more... commercial
was to introduce the vernacular into portions of the Mass to replace Latin
and to widen somewhat the range of music permissible in the liturgy
But I feel that if they really want to sell the product in this secular age
what they ought to do is to redo some of the liturgical music in popular song forms
I have a modest example here; it's called The Vatican Rag!
First you get down on your knees
Fiddle with your rosaries
Bow your head with great respect
And genuflect, genuflect, genuflect!
Do whatever steps you want if
You have cleared them with the Pontiff
Everybody say his own
Kyrie eleison
Doin' the Vatican Rag
Get in line in that processional
Step into that small confessional
There the guy who's got religion'll
Tell you if your sin's original
If it is, try playin' it safer
Drink the wine and chew the wafer
Two, four, six, eight
Time to transubstantiate!
So get down upon your knees
Fiddle with your rosaries
Bow your head with great respect
And genuflect, genuflect, genuflect!
Make a cross on your abdomen
When in Rome do like a Roman
Ave Maria
Gee, it's good to see ya
Gettin' ecstatic an' sorta dramatic an'
Doin' the Vatican
Rag!

Coming Back To Life

Coming Back To Life
Composer(s): David Gilmour
Performer(s): Pink Floyd
and various other artists
Where were you when I was burned and broken
While the days slipped by from my window watching
Where were you when I was hurt and I was helpless
Because the things you say and the things you do surround me
While you were hanging yourself on someone else’s words
Dying to believe in what you heard
I was staring straight into the shining sun
Lost in thought and lost in time
While the seeds of live and the seeds of change were planted
Outside the rain fell dark and slow
While I pondered on this dangerous but
I took a heavenly ride through one silence
I knew the moment had arrived
For killing the past and coming back to life
I took a heavenly ride trough our silence
I knew the waiting had begin
And headed straight... into the shining sun

Rock N' Roll Party Queen

Rock N' Roll Party Queen
Composer(s): Warren Casey; Jim Jacobs
Performer(s): Louis St. Louis
Rock 'n roll party
Little girl, do you know what I mean?
Pretty soon, she'll be 17
They tell me her name's Mary-Jean, rock 'n roll party queen
Friday night 'n she's got a date
goin' places just for stayin' out late
Droppin' dimes in the record machine
rock 'n roll party queen
Pa pa pa pa, oh no, can I have a ball tonight?
Baby baby, can I be the one, to love you
with all of my might?
She's the girl that all the kids love
they talk about her, wherever she goes I could write
a fan magazine about my rock 'n roll party queen
La la la... rock 'n roll party queen
Oh oh, oh oh, oh oh, rock 'n roll party queen
Pa pa pa pa, you should see her shake
Baby baby, don't you call it puppy luck
don't you want a true romance?
Rockin' and rollin', little party queen
We're gonna do the strawl, hey party queen
You know I love you so, my party queen
You're my rockin' and my rollin' party queen

The Vamp

The Vamp
Composer(s): Byron Gay
Everybody do the vamp
Vamp until you get a cramp
Grab your tootsie, hold her tight
While they're playing, just keep swaying
Do a little "what not" do a little fox trot
When you cuddle up don't fight
Vamp and swing a long, keep a doing it
Vamp and sing a song, don't you ruin it
Do a nifty step, with lots of "pep"
And watch your reputation
Do a "Bumble Bee," buzz around a bit
Shake a wicked knee, she will fall for it
Vamp all night and day
Keep vamping till you vamp your cares away
Vamp and swing a long, keep a doing it
Vamp and sing a song, don't you ruin it
Do a nifty step, with lots of "pep"
And watch your reputation
Do a "Bumble Bee," buzz around a bit
Shake a wicked knee, she will fall for it
Vamp all night and day
Keep vamping till you vamp your cares away
Ah! Vamp the little lady, vamp the little lady
vamp the little day, vamp the little lady
Ah! She will like it, maybe, she will like it
maybe, she will like it, maybe, oh, you pretty baby
Ah! Make it good and snap, make it good and snappy
make it good and snappy, make it good and snappy
Ah! Guess I got to go now, guess I go to go now
'seve'rybody happy, 'sev'rybody happy, 'sev'rybody happy, sure
Good!

Coming Around Again

Coming Around Again
Composer(s): Carly Simon
First release by: Carly Simon
Baby sneezes
Mummy pleases
Daddy breezes in
So good on paper
So romantic
But so bewildering
I know nothing stays the same
But if you're willing to play the game
It's coming around again
So don't mind if I fall apart
there's more room in a broken heart
You pay the grocer
Fix the toasted
Kiss the host Good-bye
Then you break a window
burn the Soufflé
Scream the lullaby
I know nothing stays the same
But if you're willing to play the game
It's coming around again
So don't mind if I fall apart
there's more room in a broken heart
And I believe in love
But what else can I do
I'm so in love with you
I know nothing stays the same
But if you're willing to play the game
It's coming around again
(repeat)

Rock 'N' Roll Musique
Rock 'N' Roll Musique
Performer(s): Johnny Hallyday

The Valley Of Strathmore

The Valley Of Strathmore
Composer(s): Andy M. Stewart
Performer(s): Silly Wizard
By the clear and winding streams
Of the valley of Strathmore
Where my love and I have been
Where we wander nevermore
But if time were a thing man could buy
All the money that I have in store
I would give for one day by her side
In the Valley of Strathmore
From the glen of the golden an' green
I have left for a land far away
Where sadness has ne'er been seen
And joy only costs a days pay
But if time were a thing man could buy
All the money that I have in store
I would give for one day by her side
In the Valley of Strathmore
In Strathmore theres a long workin' day
For the man who lays hands on the hill
But it's work I'd be happy to do
If at night I was lyin' with you
But if time were a thing man could buy
All the money that I have in store
I would give for one day by her side
In the Valley of StrathmoreChorus
As I take a long draught from my glass
I am drinkin the Long Hill again
But I try no to think on my loss
For the old days will ne'er come again
But if time were a thing man could buy
All the money that I have in store
I would give for one day by her side
In the Valley of Strathmore

Comin' In On A Wing And A Prayer

Comin' In On A Wing And A Prayer
Composer(s): Jimmy McHugh; Harold Adamson
Performer(s): The Song Spinners
and various other artists
Comin' in on a wing and a prayer
Comin' in on a wing and a prayer
Though there's one motor gone
We can still carry on
Comin' in on a wing and a prayer
What a show, what a fight
Yes we really hit our target for tonight
How we sing as we limp through the air
Oh. Look below, there's our field over there
With our full crew aboard
And our trust in the Lord
We're comin' in on a wing and a prayer
One of our planes was missing
Two hours overdue
One of our planes was missing
With all it's gallant crew
The radio sets were humming
They waited for a word
Then a voice broke through the humming
And this is what they heard:
Comin' in on a wing and a prayer
Comin' in on a wing and a prayer
Thought there's one motor gone
We can still carry on
Comin' in on a wing and a prayer.
What a show, what a fight
Yes we really hit our target for tonight
Now we sing as we limp through the air
Oh. Look below, there's our field over there
With our full crew aboard
And our trust in the Lord
We're comin' in on a wing and a prayer
Though there's one motor gone
We can still carry on
Comin' in on a wing and a prayer

Rock 'N' Roll Is King

Rock 'N' Roll Is King
Composer(s): Jeff Lynne
Performer(s): Electric Light Orchestra
Weeellll, listen everybody
let me tell you 'bout the rock 'n' roll
Awww, feel that rhythm and it's really gonna thrill your soul
Mmmmm, come along with me, to a land of make believe
She said, "Wham-a-lama-bama-lama rock 'n' roll is king"
She loves that rock and roll and she plays it all night long
Aww, that's all she ever tells me when I call her on the telephone
She says "Uh feel that jumpin' beat, and a-git up on your feet"
She says "Wham-a-lama-bama-lama rock 'n' roll is king"
Oh let those guitars play
Play for me play for me
Oh let that song ring out
That's how it's meant to beeee
Well, it rolls like a train that's a-comin' on down the track
She rolled over Beethoven and she gave Tchaikovsky back
Ooh, she loves that drivin' beat, she goes dancin' on down the
street
She said, "Wham-a-lama-bama-lama rock 'n' roll is king"
Aw, rock on
Oh, let those guitars play
Play for me play for me
Oh let that song ring out
That's how it's meant to beeee
Well, when she comes around and I'm a-listenin' to the radio
She says "You can't do that 'cause all I wanna do is rock 'n'
rooollll"
"Now here I'm gonna stay where that music starts to play"
She says, "Wham-a-lama-bama-lama rock 'n' roll is king"
"Ooh, yeah, wham-a-lama-bama-lama rock 'n' roll is king"
"Uh, huh, wham-a-lama-bama-lama rock 'n' roll is king"
"Oooh, yeah, wham-a-lama-bama-lama rock 'n' roll is king"
She said, "Wham-a-lama-bama-lama rock 'n' roll is king

The Vagabond King Waltz
The Vagabond King Waltz (aka Huguette Waltz)
Composer(s): Rudolf Friml - Brian Hooker
Performer(s): Jane Carroll
and multiple other artists
Hearts may flower for an hour
Tho' they die in a day
Lips may kiss
Blind with bliss
Ere they learn to betray
Light Love, smiling, untrue
Bright Love, what would you do
If I give my Love to you before I wander away?
Never try to bind me
Never hope to know
Take me as you find me
Love and let me go
Tho' the loves we leave behind us
Change and fade away
Never mind, you may be mine to day
Never try to bind me
Never hope to know
Take me as you find me
Love and let me go
Tho' the loves we leave behind us
Change and fade away
Never mind, you may be mine to day

Dig what you've been missin'
But if you like to bop & stroll
Come around & listen
Everybody have a ball
Everybody rock & roll
Everybody rock
Everybody roll
Everybody rock
Everybody roll
Oh... oh, everybody rock & roll

The Unknown Stuntman

The Unknown Stuntman
Composer(s): Glen Larson - David Somerville
Performer(s): Lee Majors
Well
I'm not the kind to kiss and tell
but I've been seen with Farah
I've never been with anything less than a nine so fine
I've been on fire with Sally Fields
gone fast with a girl named Bo
but somehow they just don't end up as mine
It's a death-defying life I lead
I take my chances
I die for a livin' in the movies and T.V.
but the hardest thing I ever do
is watch my leadin' ladies
kiss some other guy
while I'm bandagin' my knees
I might fall from a tall building
I might roll a brand-new car
'cause I'm the unknown stuntman
that made Redford such a star
I've never spent much time in school
but I taught ladies plenty.
It's true I hire my body out for pay (hey, hey)
I've gotten burned over Cheryl Tiegs
blown up for Raquel Welch
but when I end up in the hay it's only hay (hey, hey)
I might jump an open drawbridge
or Tarzan from a vine
'cause I'm the unknown stuntman
that makes Eastwood lookes so fine
They'll never make me president
but I've got the best first ladies
Some days I've got'em as far as the eye can see
A morning dive with Jackie Smith
I crash in the night with Cheryl
but in the end they never stay with me
I might fall from a tall building
so Burt Reynolds don't get hurt
I might leap a mighty canyon
so he can kiss and flirt
While that smooth talker's kissin' my girl
I'm just kissin' dirt
Yes I'm the lonely stuntman
that made a lover out of Burt

Comin' Home
Composer(s): Delaney Bramlett; Eric Clapton
Performer(s): Eric Clapton
Been out on the road 'bout six months too long
I want you so bad, I can hardly stand it
I'm so tired and I'm all alone
We'll soon be together and that's it
I'm comin' home to your love
Hitchhiking on the turnpike all day long
Nobody seemed to notice, they just pass me over
To keep from going crazy, I got to sing my song
Got a whole lot of loving and baby, that's why
I'm comin' home to your love
Coming home, yeah

Rock 'N' Attitude

Rock 'N' Attitude
Composer(s): Michel Berger
Performer(s): Johnny Hallyday
Vivre
Tous les moments qu'on a rêvés de vivre
Que ça aime, que ça tienne, que ça casse
Respirer chaque minute qu'on respire
Rock 'n' roll attitude
Le risque de l'amour
Passe par l'amour du risque
Rock 'n' roll attitude
Seules les passions de cire
Sont gravés dans les disques
Lutte contre les mots faciles
Lutte contre la haine des imbéciles
Garde toujours en toi
Une rock 'n' roll attitude
