    The Seaside Band
    Composer(s): Kenneth Blain
    Performer(s): Arthur Askey

Once, at the seaside, feeling very restless
I ran down tuppence and I rolled on the pier
Hadn't gone far when the strains of music
Floated on the breeze and landed in my ear
I quickened up me steps for I love nice noises
Very soon arrived right opposite the band
Saw the conductor on a lemonade box
With his little baton stuck up in his right hand

One two three four, off went the cornet
Five six seven eight, the fiddles followed too
A man in the corner playing on the piccolo
Keeping time with the sole of his boot
Right behind him was a fellow with the trombone
Blowing like the devil with his cheeks out wide
Working so hard that both his little eyeballs
Left their sockets and stood outside

Hanging on a rostrum, a drummer, very lonely
Drums all round like bees in a swarm
Looking very cold with his nose quite scarlet
Banging on the cymbals to keep himself warm
Opposite to him was the man with the toupee
Spitting down a reed - what a nasty man!
Sitting next to him was a fellow with a French horn
Full of soul and bitter beer, tuppence on the can

Fellow with a cello, boom boom boom boom
Trying very hard to saw it in two
His pal with the double bass, cuddling it fondly
Looking like a camel with a dose of the flu
Man with a piccolo, fed up with the dancing
Sick and tired of hearing the same old toot
Thought he'd like a change so he put it down beside him
And then started messing with a full size flute

Man with the bassoon, nothing on his music
Acted like a mute, never said a word
Just as I thought he was going to fall asleep
He picked up his bassoon and gave us all the bird
Then a little man with walrus whiskers
How he got his breath, well I don't know
Found he got his fungus stuffed up the mouthpiece
And wondered why he couldn't play his little oboe

Man with the trombone lost his temper
Thought they could not hear him and said, 'Here goes'
Took a long breath and threw all of his false teeth
Right on the bridge of the conductor's nose
Then the conductor, getting very angry
Raised his other hand, with a rum-tum-tum
Caused such a draught that the man with the harp
Went clean through the air and fell through the drum

Bang bang bang went the man with the cymbals
Toodle-oodle-oo went the flute so gay
Fiddles and violas screaming like the wind
And the cornet broke his promise, trying to reach top A
    What a pandemonium everybody different
Each with the other one, trying to compete
Strange to relate it must've been a fluke
But they all finished dead on the same down-beat

Oh, Rule Britannia, they kept the party clean
And I felt sorry when they played
    God Save Our Queen

    Come, my baby
    Dressed in white
    Hey, baby
    Won't you stay the night

    Cocaine
    All around my brain

    Come, my baby
    Dressed in red
    Hey, baby
    Won't you come to bed

    Cocaine
    All around my brain

    Hey, baby
    Won't you please come quick
    This old cocaine
    Is making me sick

    Cocaine
    All around my brain

    Come, my baby
    Dressed in green
    Hey, baby
    Can't be seen

    Cocaine
    All around my brain

    Hey, baby
    Won't you please come quick
    This old cocaine
    Is making me sick

    Composer(s): Jon Anderson;
Tony Kaye; Trevor Rabin; Chris Squire
    Performer(s): Yes

    Innocence no answer
    To your breaking heart
    If the situation
    Sometimes falls apart
    Then in this ecstasy
    Your charms are frozen
No emotion falling through your arms
Morning, daydream, time still growing shorter
Take me over lead me to the water
    To the rhythm of love
    The rhythm of love
    The rhythm of love
    Why should I escort you
    To your secret needs
    Climbing up your ladder
    I keep falling down
    Anyway will do
    Anyone will do
When you dance to your darkest tune
    Surrounded
As you crawl around the room
Night time fever burning till you're higher
Take me over lead me through the fire
    The rhythm of love
    To the rhythm of love
    The rhythm of love
    To the rhythm of love
    Morning daydream midnight fever
    Morning daydream midnight fever
Inhibitions keep you from your point of view
    Information needing to confuse
In this situation I have found you
    In the rhythm of
    Morning daydream midnight fever
    Morning daydream midnight fever
    Rhythm of love
    Rhythm of love
    To the rhythm of love
    Rhythm of love

What makes a man to wander?
What makes a man to roam?
What makes a man leave bed and board
And turn his back on home?
Ride away, ride away, ride away
A man will search his heart and soul
    Go searchin' way out there
His peace of mind he knows he'll find
But where, oh Lord, Lord where?
Ride away, ride away, ride away

Cocaine Blues ((aka Transfusion Blues (by Johnny Cash) - 1960)) ((Adapted from: Little Sadie (by Hedy West) - 1967)) Composer(s): Traditional - T.J. Arnall Performer(s): George Thorogood & The Destroyers and multiple other artists

Early one mornin' while makin' the rounds
I took a shot of cocaine and I shot my woman down
I went right home and I went to bed
I stuck that lovin' 44 beneath my head

Got up next mornin' and I grabbed that gun
Took a shot of cocaine and away I run
Made a good run but I ran too slow
They overtook me down in Juarez Mexico

Late in the hot joints takin' the pills
In walked the sheriff from Jericho Hill
He said Willy Lee your name is not Jack Brown
You're the dirty heck that shot your woman down

Said yes, oh yes my name is Willy Lee
If you've got the warrant just a-read it to me
Shot her down because she made me sore
I thought I was her daddy but she had five more

When I was arrested I was dressed in black
They put me on a train and they took me back
Had no friend for to go my bail
They slapped my dried up carcass in that county jail

Early next mornin' bout a half past nine
I spied the sheriff coming down the line
Ah, and he coughed as he cleared his throat
He said come on you dirty heck into that district court

Into the courtroom my trial began
Where I was handled by twelve honest men
Just before the jury started out
I saw the little judge commence to look about

In about five minutes in walked the man
Holding the verdict in his right hand
The verdict read murder in the first degree
I hollered Lawdy Lawdy, have a mercy on me

The judge he smiled as he picked up his pen
99 years in the Folsom pen
    99 years underneath that ground
I can't forget the day I shot that bad bitch down

Come on you've gotta listen unto me
Lay off that whiskey and let that cocaine be

    Performer(s): Janet Jackson;
    The Countdown Singers; David Davidson

    With music by our side
    To break the color lines
    Let's work together
To improve our way of life
    Join voices in protest
    To social injustice
    A generation full of courage
    Come forth with me

    Chorus:
    People of the world today
Are we looking for a better way of life
We are a part of the rhythm nation
    People of the world unite
Strength in numbers we can get it right
    One time
We are a part of the rhythm nation

    This is the test
    No struggle no progress
    Lend a hand to help
    Your brother do his best
    Things are getting worse
We have to make them better
It's time to give a damn
    Let's work together come on

    Repeat Chorus

    Composer(s): Marc Bolan

The seal of seasons moved with grace
    Love
    Upon the Orkney oceans face
    Love
    She swam and moved
    Just like a prancer
    A gypsy dancer
A salty shimmered shell of foam

Out of the depths she stood before me
One breath and shells grew on my nut tree
    It swayed and swum
    Just like a prancer
    A gypsy dancer
A salty shimmered shell of foam

Her night it came and then she hooked her head
Unto the fleeing sun and then she fled
    And flew away
    Just like a prancer
    A gypsy dancer
A salty shimmered shell of foam

    Cocaine Bill And Morphine Sue
    (Traditional)

    Cocaine Bill and Morphine Sue
Strolling down the avenue two by two

    Oh, honey
won't you have a little sniff on me
    Have a sniff on me

Said Sue to Bill: "It'll do no harm
If we both just have a little shot in the arm"

Said Bill to Sue: "I can't refuse
'Cause there's no more kick in this darned ol' booze"

So they walked down first and they turned up main
Looking for a place they could buy cocaine

They came to a drugstore full of smoke
Where they saw a little sign sayin' "No more coke"

Now in the graveyard on the hill
Lies the body of Cocaine Bill

And in a grave right by his side
Lies the body of his cocaine bride

All o' you cokies is a-gonna be dead
If you don't stop a-sniffin that stuff in your head

Now where they went, no one can tell
It might have been heaven or it might have been ... Sniff”

    The Scottish Soldier
    (Traditional)

There was a soldier, a Scottish soldier
Who wandered far away and soldiered far away
There was none bolder, with good broad shoulder
He's fought in many a fray, and fought and won
He'd seen the glory and told the story
Of battles glorious and deeds neforious
But now he's sighing, his heart is crying
To leave these green hills of Tyrol
Because these green hills are not highland hills
Or the island hills, the're not my land's hills
And fair as these green foreign hills may be
They are not the hills of home

And now this soldier, this Scottish soldier
Who wandered far away and soldiered far away
Sees leaves are falling and death is calling
And he will fade away, in that far land
He called his piper, his trusty piper
And bade him sound a lay... a pibroch sad to play
Upon a hillside, a Scottish hillside
Not on these green hills of Tyrol

And so this soldier, this Scottish soldier
Will wander far no more and soldier far no more
And on a hillside, a Scottish hillside
You'll see a piper play his soldier home
He'd seen the glory, he'd told his story
Of battles glorious and deeds victorious
The bugles cease now, he is at peace now
Far from those green hills of Tyrol

    Rhymes And Reasons
    Composer(s): John Denver
Performer(s): John Denver; Peter, Paul and Mary

So you speak to me in sadness and the coming of the winter
fear that is within you now that seems to never end
and the dreams that have escaped you and the hope that you've forgotten
and you tell me that you need me now and you want to be my friend
and you wonder where we're going, where's the rhyme, where's the reason
and it's you cannot accept it is here we must begin
to seek the wisdom of the children
and the graceful way of flowers in the wind
For the children and the flowers are my sisters and my brothers
their laughter and their loveliness would clear a cloudy day
Like the music of the mountains and the colours of the rainbow
they're a promise of the future and the blessing for today
Though the cities start to crumble and the towers fall around us
the sun is slowly fading and it's colder than the sea
it is written: From the desert to the mountains they shall lead us
by the hand and by the heart they will comfort you and me
In their innocence and trusting, they will teach us to be free
For the children and the flowers are my sisters and my brothers
their laughter and their loveliness would clear a cloudy day
And the song that I am singing is a prayer to unbelievers
come and stand beside us we can find a better way

    The Scotsman
    Composer(s): Mike Cross
    Performer(s): Bryan Bowers
    and multiple other artists

Well, a Scotsman clad in kilt left a bar one evening fair
And one could tell by how he walked that he'd drunk more than his share
He fumbled 'round until he could no longer keep his feet
And he stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street

Ring ding diddle iddle ay dee oh
    Ring di diddly ay oh
And he stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street

About that time two young and lovely girls just happend by
One says to the other with a twinkle in her eye
"See yon sleeping Scotsman, so strong and handsome built?
I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath the kilt!"

Ring ding diddle iddle ay dee oh
    Ring di diddly ay oh
And he stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street

They crept up on that sleeping Scotsman quiet as could be
Lifted up his kilt about an inch so they could see
And there, behold, for them to view beneath his Scotish skirt
Was nothin' more than God had graced him with upon his birth

Ring ding diddle iddle ay dee oh
    Ring di diddly ay oh
And he stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street

They marvelled for a moment, then one said: "We must be gone
Let's leave a present for our friend before we move along"
As a gift they left a blue silk ribbon tied into a bow
Around the bonnie star the Scot's kilt did lift and show

Ring ding diddle iddle ay dee oh
    Ring di diddly ay oh
And he stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street

Now the Scotsman woke to nature's call, and stumbled towards the trees
Behind the bush he lifts his kilt, and gawks at what he sees
And in a startled voice he says, to what's before his eyes
"Oh, lad I don't know where ye been, but I see ye won first prize!"

Ring ding diddle iddle ay dee oh
    Ring di diddly ay oh
And he stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street

I called collect on the phone
You say you're tired and alone
But it sounds like someone else is lying there
She said don't call me no more
Don't you knock on my door
It's too late now, and I know you'll never change
    She said....

You're just a Coca Cola cowboy
You got an Eastwood smile, and Robert Redford hair
But you walked across my heart like it was Texas
And you taught me how to say I just don't care

She said just leave me alone
And let me hang up this phone
'Cause he'll see me cry, and think I still love you
Please don't call me no more
I changed the locks on my door
It's time you understood that we are through

    She said....
You're just a Coca Cola cowboy
You got an Eastwood smile, and Robert Redford hair
But you walked across my heart like it was Texas

    Rhumboogie
    Composer(s): Hughie Prince; Don Raye
    Performer(s): The Andrews Sisters;
    and various other artists

All Harlem's got a brand new rhythm
And it's burning up the dance floors
    Because it's so hot
They took a little rhumba rhythm
    And they added boogie-woogie
    And-a look what they've got

    Rhumboogie
    Rhumboogie-woogie
    It's Harlem's new creation
    With a Cuban syncopation
    It's a killer

    Rhumboogie
    Rhumboogie-woogie
    The native rhythm haunts you
It's barbaric and it taunts you
    It's a killer

Just plant your both feet on each side
Let both your hips and shoulders glide
Then throw your body back and ride
    There's nothing like...

    Rhumboogie
    Rhumboogie-woogie
    In Harlem or Havana
You can kiss the old Savanna
    It's a killer

    Oh, beat me daddy, eight-to-the-bar

    Rhumboogie
    Rhumboogie-woo-oogie
    It's Harlem's new creation
    With a Cuban syncopation
    It's a killer

    Rhumboogie
    Rhu-umboogie-woo-oogie
    The native rhythm haunts you
It's barbaric and it taunts you
    It's a killer

Just plant you toes and both feet on the side
Let both your hips and shoulders glide
Then throw your body back and ride
    Think a little of
    The rhumba
    The boogie
    The woogie
    Then put them
    Both all together
    You have rhumboogie...

    Then all together sing rhumboogie
    Rhumboogie-woogie
    Rhumboogie
    In Harlem or Havana
    It'll kiss the old Savanna
    It's a killer
    It's a killer this rhumboogie

    Rhumboogie
    Rhumboogie
    Rhumboogie-woogie-woogie-woogie-woogie
    Do-do-do-do-diddleyada-do-diddleyada-do-do-dee
    There's nothing like rhumboogie!

Doe Dat Nog Een Keertje Met Mij
((Adapted from: Do That To Me One More Time (Captain & Tennille) - 1979))
((Finnish Version: Tee Se Vielä Uudestaan (Mona Carita) - 1980))
    Composer(s): Toni Tennille - Christill
    Performer(s): Frank Galan & Sandra Kim - 1997

Doe dat nog een keertje met mij
Eén keer is niet genoeg met iemand als jij
Doe dat nog een keertje met mij
Want ik krijg nooit genoeg van iemand als jij
Streel me zoals je net deed

Streel me zoals je net deed
Oh liefste, doe dat nog een keertje met mij
Ohohoh liefste, doe dat nog een keertje met mij
Oh liefste, doe dat nog een keertje met mij...

    Performer(s): Chico Buarque

Aos quatro cantos o seu corpo
    Partido
    Banido
Aos quatro ventos os seus quartos
    Seus cacos
    De vidro
    O seu veneno incomodando
    A tua honra
    O teu verão
    Presta atenção

    Aos quatro cantos suas tripas
    De graça
    De sobra
Aos quatro ventos os seus quartos
    Deus cacos
    De cobra
    O seu veneno arruinando
    A tua filha
    A plantação
    Presta atenção

    Aos quatro cantos seus ganidos
    Seu grito
    Medonho
Aos quatro ventos os seus quartos
    Seus cacos
    De sonho
    O seu veneno temperando
    A tua veia
    O teu feijão

    Rhumba Girl
    Composer(s): Jesse Winchester
    Performer(s): Nicolette Larson;
    Evangeline; Donna Geddes

Well, I'm the same old girl that I used to be
    I haven't changed at all
Same old walk, same old talk
That would run you up the wall
Same old face, same old smile
    Same old baby blues
And I'm still doin' the Rhumba, baby
I'm still the girl for you

I'm still doin' the Rhumba, baby
    I can't seem to quit
If my mama catches us doin' the Rhumba
My mama would just a-pitch a fit
    But I can't help myself
    It's much bigger than me
If I were you, I would hang onto
    A Rhumba girl like me

Well, there's lotsa girls on a Florida night
With a lot slicker steps than me
    The Boogaloo, the Funky Broadway
Are such a pretty sight to see
    My step might be old-fashioned
But that's just fine with me
Cause I got a couple of Rhumba steps
That I think you'd like to see

I'm still doin' the Rhumba, baby
    I can't seem to quit
If my mama catches us doin' the Rhumba
My mama would just a-pitch a fit
    But I can't help myself
    It's much bigger than me
If I were you, I would hang onto
    A Rhumba girl like me

Well, I'm the same old girl that I used to be
    I haven't changed at all
Same old walk, same old talk
That would run you up the wall
Same old face, same old smile
    Same old baby blues
And I'm still doin' the Rhumba, baby
I'm still the girl for you

I'm still doin' the Rhumba, baby
    I can't seem to quit

    Coat Of Many Colors
    Composer(s): Dolly Parton
    Performer(s): Dolly Parton
    and various other artists

    Back through the years
    I go wonderin' once again
Back to the seasons of my youth
I recall a box of rags that someone gave us
And how my momma put the rags to use
There were rags of many colors
    Every piece was small
    And I didn't have a coat
And it was way down in the fog
    Momma sewed the rags together
    Sewin' every piece with love
She made my coat of many colors
That I was so proud of
As she sewed, she told a story
From the bible, she had read
About a coat of many colors
Joseph wore and then she said
Perhaps this coat will bring you
    Good luck and happiness
And I just couldn't wait to wear it
And momma blessed it with a kiss

    Chorus:

    My coat of many colors
That my momma made for me
    Made only from rags
But I wore it so proudly
    Although we had no money
I was rich as I could be
In my coat of many colors
    My momma made for me

So with patches on my britches
    Holes in both my shoes
In my coat of many colors
    I hurried off to school
Just to find the others laughing
    And making fun of me
In my coat of many colors
    My momma made for me

And oh I couldn't understand it
For I felt I was rich
And I told them of the love
My momma sewed in every stitch
And I told 'em all the story
Momma told me while she sewed
And how my coat of many colors
Was worth more than all their clothes

    But they didn't understand it
And I tried to make them see
    That one is only poor
Only if they choose to be
Now I know we had no money
But I was rich as I could be
In my coat of many colors
    My momma made for me
    Made just for me
