Pídele A Dios Composer(s): Federico Baena Performer(s): Javier Solís

The Six-Five Special's steamin' down the line The Six-Five Special's right on time Coal in the boiler burnin' up 'n bright Rollin' and a-rockin' through the night My heart's a-beatin' 'cause I'll be meetin' The Six-Five Special at the station tonight
The Six-Five Special better not be late The Six-Five Special, platform eight The train starts a-brakin' hard as can be The station is a-shakin' like a tree And I won't be missin' that special kissin' When the Six-Five Special brings my baby to me
Hear the whistle blowin' twelve to the bar See the lights a-glowin' bright as a star Now the wheels a-slowin', can't be far

Piddle, Twiddle And Resolve Composer(s): Sherman Edwards; Donald Meyer Performer(s): New Broadway Cast Recording
Adams: Dear God! For one solid year they have been sitting there
for one year doing nothing!
I do believe you've laid a curse on North America A curse that we here now rehearse in Philadelphia A second flood, A simple famine plagues of locusts everywhere or a cataclysmic earthquake I'd accept with some despair but no you send us congress good God sir was that fair?
I say this with humility in Philadelphia we're your responsibility in Philadelphia If you don't want to see us hanging on some far off British hill if you don't want the voice of independency forever still then God sir get thee to it! For congress never will
Chorus: You see we piddle twiddle and resolve not one damn thing do we solve piddle twiddle and resolve nothing's ever solved in foul, fetid, fuming, foggy, filthy, Philadelphia
Congress Man: Someone ought to open up a window
Adams: Oh shut up!
They may sit here for years and years in Philadelphia These indecisive grenadiers of Philadelphia They can't decide on what is right or wrong or what is good or bad I'm convinced the only purpose this congress ever had was to gather here specifically to drive John Adams mad!
Repeat Chorus
Abigail: John, John, is that you carrying on? John?
Adams: Oh Abigail, Abigail I have such a desire to knock heads together!
Abigail: I know my dearest I know, but that's because you make everything so complicated It's all quite simple really
Just tell congress to declare independency then sign your name get our of there and hurry home to me. Our children all have dysentery little Tom keeps turning blue little Abby has the measles and I'm coming down with flu they say we may get small pox
Adams: Uh, Madam, what else is new?
Abigail, in my last letter I told you that the king has collected twelve thousand German Mercenaries to send against us I asked you to organize the ladies to make salt peter for gunpowder Have you done as I asked?
Abigail: No John, I have not Adams: Why have you not? Abigail: Because you neglected to tell us how salt peter is made Adams: By treating sodium nitrate with potassium chloride of course! Abigail: Oh yes, of course Adams: Will it be done then? Abigail: I'm afraid we have a more ugent problem John Adams: More urgent madame?
Abigail: There's one thing every woman's missed in Massachusetts bay Don't smirk at me you egotist pay heed to what I say We've been from Framingham to Boston and we cannot find a pin don't you know there is a war on say the tradesmen with a grin well we will not make salt peter until you send us pins
Adams: Pins madame? Salt peter Abigail: Pins Adams: salt peter Abigail: Pins Adams: Salt peter Abigail: pins Adams: Salt peter Abigail: Pins Adams: Peter! Abigail: Pins! Adams:Peter! Abigail:Pins! Adams: Peter! Abigail: Pins! Adams: Peter! Abigail: Pins! Adams: Done Madame, done Abigail: Done, John, done

Sitting here in Limbo Waiting for the tide turn Yeah, now, sitting here in Limbo So many things I've got to learn Meanwhile, they're putting up a resistance But I know that my faith will lead me on
Sitting here in Limbo Waiting for the dice to roll Yeah, now, sitting here in Limbo Still got some time to search my soul Meanwhile, they're putting up a resistance But I know that my faith will lead me on
I don't know where life will take me But I know where I have been I don't know what life will show me But I know what I have seen Tried my hand at love and friendship That is past and gone And now it's time to move along
Sitting here in Limbo Like a bird ain't got a song Yeah, I'm sitting here in Limbo And I know it won't be long 'Til I make my getaway, now Meanwhile, they're putting up a resistance But I know that my faith will lead me on
I don't know where life will take me But I know where I have been I don't know what life will show me But I know what I have seen Tried my hand at love and friendship That is past and gone And now it's time to move along
Gonna lead me on now Meanwhile, they're putting up resistance But I know that my faith will lead me on Sitting in Limbo, Limbo, Limbo Sitting in Limbo, Limbo, Limbo Sitting in Limbo, Limbo, Limbo Meanwhile, they're putting up a resistance But I know that my faith will lead me on

When I look up to the sky I see your eyes, a funny kind of yellow I rush home to bed, I sunk my head I see your face underneath my pillow I wake next morning, tired still yawning See your face come peeking through my window
Pictures of matchstick men and you Images of matchstick men and you All I ever see is them and you
Windows echo your reflection When I look in their direction gone When will this haunting stop Your face, it just won't leave me alone

You in the sky, you with the sky You make me cry, your eyes

I used to wake up in the morning I used to feel so bad I got so sick of having sleepless nights I went and told my dad He said, "Son now here's some little something" And stuck them on my wall And now my nights ain't quite so lonely In fact I, I don't feel bad at all
Pictures of Lily made my life so wonderful Pictures of Lily helped me sleep at night Pictures of Lily solved my childhood problems Pictures of Lily helped me feel alright
Pictures of Lily Lily, oh Lily Lily, oh Lily Pictures of Lily
And then one day things weren't quite so fine I fell in love with Lily I asked my dad where Lily I could find He said, "Son, now don't be silly" "She's been dead since 1929" Oh, how I cried that night If only I'd been born in Lily's time It would have been alright
Pictures of Lily made my life so wonderful Pictures of Lily helped me sleep at night For me and Lily are together in my dreams And I ask you, "Hey mister, have you ever seen" "Pictures of Lily?"
Un Jour, Un Enfant Composer(s): Emil Stern; Eddy Marnay First release by: Frida Boccara - 1969 Covered by multiple other artists

Here's the last one that we ever took of Daddy We tried hard to make him smile but never did And here's one I caught of you when you weren't ready And here I am when I was just a kid
Oh sweetheart it's so much fun to be reminded Of how we used to look and what we used to do And each time we make a mem'ry I'm reminded I can't picture me with no one else but you
Here's a pose of you that looked so sweet and lovely That's the way I pictured you right from the start And here's a picture of you being close beside me That's the picture that I carry in my heart
Oh sweetheart it's so much fun to be reminded Of how we used to look and what we used to do And each time we make a mem'ry I'm reminded I can't picture me with no one else but you
Sittin' Up With The Dead Composer(s): C.W. Kalb Jr. Performer(s): Ray Stevens
Well out in the country, we didn't have mortuaries And so it was always customary For the undertaker to do his job And lay your kin out right there at home
Yeah, the church would loan you foldin' chairs And you'd have visitation and everything right there But when the nighttime came, you'd have to sit up with the dead 'Cause it wasn't right to leave them alone
Well, the last time I sat up was '65 When my old arthritic Uncle Fred died He was 97, and so stooped over The mortician couldn't straighten him out
They used a logging chain to hold him down Covered that all up with a cape and a gown And didn't tell nobody in the family Cause that's the kind of stuff folks just don't wanna know about
Well, we were all sittin' there, it was three in the mornin' And then there come up a cloud, a thunder, lightnin' and stormin' Well that lightnin' flashed and that thunder clapped And that chain 'round old Uncle Fred went snap Rattled and fell to the floor with a thump And Uncle Fred just sat right up. YEOW!
And I ain't sittin' up with the dead no more I don't know 'bout you No, I ain't sittin' up with the dead no more No matter what you say or do They say the dead can't hurt you 'cause they already left But what they left can sure make it hurt yourself And I ain't sittin' up with the dead no more Since the dead started sittin' up, too
Well, when Uncle Fred sat up, so did everyone there And there came a great partin' of the foldin' chairs And that preacher nearly knocked me down He said, "Whoa, I'm headin' out that kitchen door!"
I hollered, "Fred, that kitchen ain't got no door in it!" He said, "Don't worry son, it will have in a minute!" And I ain't never seen so much Jumpin' and shovin' before
And then somebody stepped on an old cat's tail He let out a scream, a screech, a wail And to say the least That howl didn't help to calm the situation down
And then that lightnin' flashed and that house went black And I spoke to my feet I said, "Boys, make tracks!" And I went through that screen door lickety split for town!
Well, I cut through the cemetery, fell in a hole It was Uncle Fred's grave...It was dark and cold Yeah, the town drunk dug it, and he dug it too deep And unbeknownst to me, he's still in there asleep And I'm scratchin' and jumpin' tryin to get out of that hole And he woke up and said "Might as well come over here and sit down beside me boy Cause you ain't gettin' out of here tonight!"
But I did
And I ain't sittin' up with the dead no more I don't know 'bout you No, I ain't sittin' up with the dead no more No matter what you say or do They say the dead can't hurt you 'cause they already left But what they left can sure make it hurt yourself And I ain't sittin' up with the dead no more Since the dead started sittin' up, too
"Weren't no sense in anybody sittin' up with Uncle Fred, anyhow Uncle Fred couldn't even sit up with his own self Next time I'm just gonna send flowers! Yeah"

Primaballerina First performance by: Siw Malmkvist - 1969
Primaballerina, Primaballerina kleine Porzellanfigur, warum bist du allein?

Sittin' On The Front Porch Swing Composer(s): Buddy Sheffield Performer(s): Dolly Parton
I remember a time when the bloom was on the cotton When our hearts chased the clouds like the swallow on the wing When our cares which were already few, were soon forgotten Sittin' on the front porch swing
Oh, we'd sit every Sunday and watch the married ladies And we'd dream of white dresses and church bells in the spring And they'd talk and paint their nails while they let us hold their babies Sittin' on the front porch swing
Where was I when the time came to join the married ladies Why did I paint the nail when the finger had no ring Why do I sit at my age and long to hold their babies Sittin, on the front porch swing
When the mind longs to follow, but the memory erases And the lips form the words that the heart no longer sings When the leaves in the hollow have been dyed to match our faces Sittin' on the front porch swing
Oh we'll dream of the time when the bloom was on the cotton When our hearts chased the clouds like the swallow on the wing But the words to the rhyme are not the only things forgotten Sittin' on the front porch swing Sittin' on the front porch swing

Oj, Oj, Oj Så Glad Jeg Skal Bli First performance by: Kirsti Sparboe - 1969
Picture In Your Mind Composer(s): Larry Knechtel Performer(s): Bread
Used to be my pleasure When I'd wake up in the morning Just to open my eyes and see you Just to find you were lying there But mornings now they seem to be an everyday affair I'm just a picture in the memory of your mind
All I ever wanted Every dream that I've ever cherished Was to share in a kind of magic That only lovers ever share All you ever offered me Was the moment then and there I'm just a picture in your mind
I used to want you, oh how badly did I want you I could not stand the hunger I used to stay awake at night and think of nothing but you And when I would awake to find you lying there beside me It made me so damn happy I couldn't satisfy my craziness for you
Now the spell is broken And my dreams they've all turned to ashes But I still have a love for living By loving you I've only just begun Love is never easy when it's given just by one I'm just a picture in your mind
I used to want you, oh how badly did I want you I could not stand the hunger I used to lie awake at night and think of nothing but you And when I would awake to find you lying there beside me It made me so damn happy, babe I couldn't satisfy my craziness for you
Found a few more answers And I'm ready for tomorrow But I still have to stop and wonder If I've learned anything from what we've done Love is never easy when it's given just by one I'm just a picture in your mind Picture in your mind
