Function At The Junction

Function At The Junction
Composer(s): Eddie Holland; Shorty (Frederick) Long
Performer(s): Shorty (Frederick) Long;
and various other artists

I'm getting ready for the function at the junction
And baby you'd better come on right now
Because everybody's gonna be there
We got people comin' from everywhere

We got Ling Ting Tong from China
Long Tall Sally from Carolina
We got 007, the private eye,
And he's bringin' all the guys from "I Spy"

Come one, come all, we gonna have a ball
down at the function at the junction
And baby you'd better come on right now

We serving egg foo yung and barbecue
having chicken dumplings and kidney stew
having heap big fun till the break of dawn
gonna shake a tailfeather shoot, it's gonna be a run

Hold a shotgun on the rooster, and dare him to crow
how could anybody sleep when they could get out on the floor

Tell him, tell them, tell one and tell `em all
Tell `em `bout the function at the junction
Tell `em that they'd better come on right now
Tell `em `bout the function at the junction
Tell `em that they'd better come on right now

Oh the soul brothers, Jitterbugs
Hip cats and fancy hats and
Pretty girls with pretty smiles
All decked out in the latest styles
and Farmer Jim and Guitar Slim and
Betty Boop and ooo-boop-e-doop
and Mohair Sam from Alabam
and Minnesota Fats from Hobo Flats
Breath-takin' Hip-shakin' give it now
Talkin' bout some fascinatin' demonstratin'

They all be gathering here, from far and near
for the Function at the Junction
Brother, you'd better come on right now
Tell `em `bout the function at the junction
Sister, you'd better come on right now
Talkin' `bout a function at the junction
Everybody you'd better come on right now

The Legend Of Xanadu

The Legend Of Xanadu
Composer(s): Alan Blaikley - Ken Howard
First release by: Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich - 1968

You'll hear my voice, on the wind, 'cross the sand
If you should return, to that black barren land
That bears the name of Xanadu

Cursed without hope, was the love that I sought
Lost from the start, was the duel
That was s'possed to win her heart in Xanadu

And the footprints leave no traces
Only shadows move in places where we used to go
And the buildings open to the sky
All echo in the vultures cry as if to show
Our love was for a day
Then doomed to pass away
In Xanadu, in Xanadu, in Xanadu

In Xanadu, in Xanadu, in Xanadu

What was it to you that a man laid down his life for your love
Were those clear eyes of yours ever filled with the pain and the tears and the grief
Did you ever give your self to any one man in this whole wide world
Or did you love me and will you find your way back one day to Xanadu

You'll hear my voice, on the wind, 'cross the sand
If you should return, to that black barren land that bears the name of Xanadu

Xanadu, in Xanadu, in Xanadu, in Xanadu

Chantilly Lace

Chantilly Lace
((French Version: Au Camp Du Bonheur (Eddy Mitchell) - 1978))
Composer(s): Big Bopper
First release by: Big Bopper - 1958
Covered by multiple other artists

Hello, baaaaby!
Yeah, this is the Big Bopper speakin'
Ha ha ha ha ha! Oh, you sweet thing!
Do I what? Will I what?
Oh baby, you knoooow what I like!

Chantilly Lace had a pretty face and a ponytail hangin' down
A wiggle in her walk and a giggle in her talk
Make the world go 'round
Ain't nothing in the world like a big eyed girl
To make me act so funny, make me spend my money
Make me feel real loose like a long necked goose
Like a--oh baby, that's a-what I like!

What's that, baby?
But... but... but... oh, honey!
Oh baby, you know what I like!

Fun, Fun, Fun

Fun, Fun, Fun
Composer(s): Brian Wilson; Mike Love
Performer(s): The Beach Boys;
and various other artists

Well she got her daddy's car
And she cruised through the hamburger stand now
Seems she forgot all about the library
Like she told her old man now
And with the radio blasting
Goes cruising just as fast as she can now

And she'll have fun, fun, fun
'Til her daddy takes the T-Bird away
(Fun, fun, fun 'til her daddy takes the T-Bird away)

Well the girls can't stand her
'Cause she walks looks and drives like an ace now
(You walk like an ace now you walk like an ace)
She makes the Indy 500 look like a Roman chariot race now
(You look like an ace now you look like an ace)
A lot of guys try to catch her
But she leads them on a wild goose chase now
(You drive like an ace now you drive like an ace)

And she'll have fun, fun, fun
'Til her daddy takes the T-Bird away
(Fun, fun, fun 'til her daddy takes the T-Bird away)

Well you knew all along
That your dad was getting wise to you now
(You shouldn't have lied now you shouldn't have lied)
And since he took your set of keys
You've been thinking that your fun is all through now
(You shouldn't have lied now you shouldn't have lied)

But you can come along with me
'Cause we got a lot of things to do now
(You shouldn't have lied now you shouldn't have lied)

And we'll have fun, fun, fun now that daddy took the T-Bird away
(Fun, fun, fun now that daddy took the T-Bird away)
And we'll have fun, fun, fun now that daddy took the T-Bird away
(Fun, fun, fun now that daddy took the T-Bird away)
(Fun, fun, fun now that daddy took the T-Bird away)
(Fun, fun, fun now that daddy took the T-Bird away)
(Fun, fun, fun now that daddy took the T-Bird away)
(Fun, fun, fun now that daddy took the T-Bird away)
(Fun, fun, fun now that daddy took the T-Bird away)

Legend Of Wyatt Earp

Legend Of Wyatt Earp
Composer(s): Harry Warren - Harold Adamson
Performer(s): The Ken Darby Singers
and multiple other artists

I'll tell you a story, a real true life story
A tale of the Western frontier
The West, it was lawless, but one man was flawless
And his is the story you'll hear

Oooh-oooh-oooh, Wyatt Earp, Wyatt Earp
Brave, courageous and bold
Long live his fame and long life his glory
And long may his story be told

When he came to Kansas, to settle in Kansas
He planned on a peaceable life
Some goods and some chattel, a few head of cattle
A home and a sweet loving wife

Oooh-oooh-oooh, Wyatt Earp, Wyatt Earp
Brave Courageous and bold
Long live his fame and long live his glory
And long may his story be told

Now, he wasn't partial to bein' a marshal
But fate went and dealt him his hand
While outlaws were lootin' and killin' and shootin'
He knew that he must take a stand
Oooh-oooh-oooh, Wyatt Earp, Wyatt Earp
Long may his story be told

Well he cleaned up the country, the old wild west country
He made law and order prevail
And none can deny it, the legend of Wyatt
Forever will live on the trail

Oooh-oooh-oooh, Wyatt Earp, Wyatt Earp
Brave Courageous and bold
Long live his fame and long live his glory
And long may his story be told
Long may his story be told

Chanteur Des Années 80

Chanteur Des Années 80 Composer(s): Chris Michaelessi - Lana Sebastian - Paul Sebastian Performer(s): Dalida

No, io non piango sai
è soltanto che
fumi e il fumo va
dentro gli occhi miei
fino in fondo al cuore

No, io non piangerò
anche se io so
che mi lascerai
come hai detto tu
e non tornerai

Io vivrò
la vita senza te
ma come io non lo so
io vivrò
ma solamente per
dimenticare te

No, io non piango sai
è soltanto che
fumi e il fumo va
dentro gli occhi miei
fino in fondo al cuor

The Legend Of Wooley Swamp

The Legend Of Wooley Swamp
Composer(s): Charlie Daniels - Charlie Hayward - Fred Edwards - James Marshall - Joel "Taz" DiGregorio - Tom Crain
Performer(s): Charlie Daniels
and multiple other artists

If you ever go back into Wooley Swamp son you better not go at night
There's things out there in the middle of them woods
That'd make a strong man die from fright
There's things that crawl and things that fly
And things that creep around on the ground
And they say the ghost of Lucias Clay gets up and it walks around

But I couldn't believe it, I just had to find out for myself
And I couldn't conceive it, I never would listen to nobody else
No I couldn't believe it, I just had to find out for myself
That there's some things in this world you just can't explain

The old man lived in the Wooley Swamp way back in the gurgling woods
And he never did do a lot of harm in the world
But he never did do no good
People didn't think too much of him
They all thought he acted funny
The old man didn't care about people anyway
All he cared about was his money
He'd stuff it all down in Mason jars and bury it all around
But on certain nights if the moon was right
He'd dig it up out of the ground
He'd pour it all out on the floor of his shack
And run his fingers through it
Old Lucias Clay was a greedy old man
And that's all there ever was to it

But I couldn't believe it, I just had to find out for myself
And I couldn't conceive it, I never would listen to nobody else
No I couldn't believe it, I just had to find out for myself
That there's some things in this world you just can't explain

The Crayton boys were white trash they lived over on Parvis Creek
They were a real snake and sneaky as a cat
And belligerent when they'd speak
One night the oldest brother said ya'll meet in the Wooley Swamp later
We'll get old Lucias' money and we'll pitch him to the alligators
They found the old man out in the back with a shovel in his hand
And thirteen rusty Mason jars he just dug up out of the sand
And they all went crazy and they beat the old man
Then they picked him up off the ground
Then they threw him in the swamp and they stood there and laughed
Till the black water sucked him down
Then they turned around and went back to the shack
And they picked up the money and ran
But they hadn't gone nowheres when they realized
They were running in quicksand.
And they struggled and screamed but they couldn't get away
Then just before they were gone
They could hear that old man laughing
In a voice that was loud and strong

Now that's been fifty years ago an' if you go back by there again
There's a spot in the yard in back of that shack
Where the ground is always wet
And on certain nights if the moon is right
And you're down by the dark footpath
You can hear three yound men screaming
And you can hear that old man laugh

If you ever go back into Wooley Swamp son you better not go at night
There's things out there in the middle of them woods
That'd make a strong man die from fright
There's things that crawl and things that fly
And things that creep around on the ground
And they say the ghost of Lucias Clay gets up and it walks around

But I couldn't believe it, I just had to find out for myself
And I couldn't conceive it, I never would listen to nobody else
No I couldn't believe it, I just had to find out for myself
That there's some things in this world you just can't explain...

Chanter Pour Toi

Chanter Pour Toi Composer(s): Étienne Roda-Gil - David Hallyday Performer(s): Johnny Hallyday

Toute cette fumée vient me voler

Me tourne
Me tourne la tête...

Leaves That Are Green

Leaves That Are Green
Composer(s): Paul Simon
First release by: Paul Simon - 1965
Covered by multiple other artists

I was 21 years when I wrote this song
I'm 22 now but I won't be for long
Time hurries on
And the leaves that are green turn to brown

And they wither with the wind
And they crumble in your hand

Once my heart was filled with the love of a girl
I held her close but she fainted in the night
Like a poem I meant to write
And the leaves that are green turn to brown
And they wither with the wind
And they crumble in your hand

Hello hello hello hello
Goodbye goodbye goodbye goodbye
That's all there is
And the leaves that are green turn to brown

Chanter Pour Ceux Qui Sont Loin De Chez Eux

Chanter Pour Ceux Qui Sont Loin De Chez Eux Composer(s): Michel Berger First release by: Michel Berger - 1986 Covered by multiple other artists

Celui-là passe toute la nuit
À regarder les étoiles
En pensant qu'au bout du monde
Y a quelqu'un qui pense à lui

Et cette petite fille qui joue
Qui ne veut plus jamais sourire
Et qui voit son père partout
Qui s'est construit un empire

Où qu'ils aillent
Où qu'ils aillent
Ils sont tristes à la fête
Où qu'ils aillent
Où qu'ils aillent
Ils sont seuls dans leur tête

Je veux chanter pour ceux
Je veux chanter pour ceux
Qui sont loin de chez eux
Qui sont loin de chez eux
Et qui ont dans leurs yeux
Et qui ont dans leurs yeux
Quelque chose qui fait mal
Qui fait mal

Chanter pour ceux
Je veux chanter pour ceux
Qu'on oublie peu à peu
Qu'on oublie peu à peu
Et qui ont dans leurs yeux
Et qui ont dans leurs yeux
Quelque chose qui fait mal
Qui fait mal

Qui a volé leur histoire
Qui a volé leur mémoire
Qui a piétiné leur vie
Comme on marche sur un miroir

Celui-là voudra des bombes
Celui-là comptera les jours
En alignant des bâtons
Comme les barreaux d'une prison

Où qu'ils aillent
Où qu'ils aillent
Ils sont tristes à la fête
Ils sont tristes à la fête
Où qu'ils aillent
Où qu'ils aillent
Ils sont seuls dans leur tête
Ils sont seuls dans leur tête

Je veux chanter pour ceux
Je veux chanter pour ceux
Qui sont loin de chez eux
Qui sont loin de chez eux
Et qui ont dans leurs yeux
Et qui ont dans leurs yeux
Quelque chose qui fait mal
Qui fait mal

Oui chanter pour ceux
Je veux chanter pour ceux
Qu'on oublie peu à peu
Qu'on oublie peu à peu
Et qui ont dans leurs yeux
Et qui ont dans leurs yeux
Quelque chose qui fait mal
Qui fait mal

Chanter pour ceux

Quelque chose qui fait mal
Qui fait mal

Je veux chanter pour ceux
Je veux chanter pour ceux
Qui sont loin de chez eux
Qui sont loin de chez eux
Et qui ont dans leurs yeux
Et qui ont dans leurs yeux
Quelque chose qui fait mal
Qui fait mal

Chanter pour ceux
Je veux chanter pour ceux
Qu'on oublie peu à peu
Qu'on oublie peu à peu
Et qui ont dans leurs yeux
Et qui ont dans leurs yeux
Quelque chose qui fait mal
Qui fait mal

Je pense à eux
Je pense à eux
Ça fait mal
Ça fait mal

Quand je pense à eux
Quand je pense à eux
Ça fait mal
Ça fait mal

Oh! ça fait mal

Full-Time Lover

Full-Time Lover
Composer(s): Frank Jones; Frank Scott
Performer(s): The Fabulous Thunderbirds;
and various other artists

Well, I found me
Yes, I found me a full-time lover
Well, I found me
Yes, I found me a full-time lover
Well, she used to be my part-time woman
But she's my full-time lover now

Well, I work the graveyard shift
Seven days a week
I'm so downhearted
I can't hardly even speak
I'll tell you the reason
The reason why I feel this way
I can't find a full-time love
Yes, but I think I found one today

Well, I found me
Lord, I found me a full-time lover
Well, she used to be my part-time girl, man
But she's my full-time lover now

Well, people you don't know
You don't know the shape I'm in
I ask her where she's goin'
She tells me where she's been
She came home last night
Thought she'd be goin' back out the door
Then she told me "Baby
I ain't leavin' you no more"

Well, I found me
Lord, I found me a full-time lover
Well, she used to be my part-time girl, man
But she's my full-time lover now

The Laughing Policeman

The Laughing Policeman
Composer(s): Billy Grey
Performer(s): Charles Penrose; Tiny Tim

I know a fat old policeman
He's always on our street
A fat and jolly red-faced man
He really is a treat

He's too kind for a policeman
He's never known to frown.
And everybody says
He is the happiest man in town!

He laughs upon point duty
He laughs upon his beat
He laughs at everybody
When he's walking in the street

He never can stop laughing
He says he's never tried
But once he did arrest a man
And laughed until he cried!

Oh ho ho ho ho ho ho
Ha ha ha ha ha ha

Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho
Ha ha ha ha ha ha

His jolly face is wrinkled
And then he shut his eyes
He opened his great big mouth
It was a wonderous size!

He said "I must arrest you!"
He didn't know what for
And then he started laughing
Until he cracked his fat old jaw

Oh ho ho ho ho ho ho
Ha ha ha ha ha ha

Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho
Ha ha ha ha ha ha

So if you chance to meet him
While walking 'round the town
Shake him by his fat old hand
And give him half a crown

His eyes will beam and sparkle
He'll gurgle with delight
And then you'll start him laughing
With all his blessed might!

Oh ho ho ho ho ho ho
Ha ha ha ha ha ha

Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho
Ha ha ha ha ha ha

Oh ho ho ho ho ho ho
Ha ha ha ha ha ha

Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho
Ha ha ha ha ha ha

Chanter Les Voix

Chanter Les Voix Composer(s): Michel Sardou - Jacques Revaux Performer(s): Dalida

Agenouillée au pied du lit
Dans une chemise de draps
Juste au-dessous d'un crucifix
Dans une chemise de draps

Petite fille encore hier

J'entends toujours chanter mes voix

Ce sont des voix très ordinaires
Elle ont gardé un peu l'accent
L'accent des chansons de ma mère
Ce sont des voix d'enfants
Mais des enfants bien ordinaires
Qui chantaient leurs chagrins d'enfant
Sur des violons bien ordinaire
ce sont des voix d'enfant

À l'heure où les amours trépassent
Quand l'avenir est derrière soi
C'est tout un régiment qui passe
De chagrin et de feu de joie

C'était des voix très ordinaires
Elle avaient même un peu l'accent
L'accent des chansons de ma mère
C'était des voix d'enfants
Mais des enfants bien ordinaires
Qui chantaient leurs chagrins d'enfant
Sur des violons imaginaires
c'était des voix d'enfant

I'm full of fire (full of fire... full of fire)
you're my one desire...
baby I'm full of fire (full of fire... full of fire)
you can make me cry...
I can dance to the music...
I can sing all night long...
I can play with the band until you hear my song...
'cause I'm full of fire (full of fire... full of fire)
see the party lights....
baby I'm full of fire (full of fire... full of fire)
its the reason why...
I can dance with the fire...
burnin'.... burnin' low...
I can stay 'til the party is all over...
baby I'm full of fire (full of fire... full of fire)
I rolled a twenty one...
baby I'm full of fire (full of fire full of fire)...
life has just begun...
Ooo Ooo I can dance to the music...
I can under... understand that there must be a power that I hold in my hands...
dance... dance... dance...
Oh I understand...
young man... young man... I say I understand....
I can dance... dance...dance... dance...
I understand...
there's some things that I know...
but I want the horns to blow...

Chanter La Vie

Chanter La Vie ((Adapted from: I Have A Dream (ABBA) - 1979)) ((German Version: Ich Leb' Im Traum (Nana Mouskouri)) Composer(s): Benny Andersson - Bjorn Ulvaeus - Claude Lemesle Performer(s): Nana Mouskouri

Chanter la vie, la nuit, le jour
Chanter l'amour, chercher l'ami

Chanter l'amour, chercher l'ami

Full Moon And Empty Arms

Full Moon And Empty Arms ((aka All By Myself (by Eric Carmen) - 1975)) ((Adapted from: Piano Concerto No. 2 In C Minor, Op. 18 (by Sergei Rachmaninoff) - 1900)) Composer(s): Sergei Rachmaninoff - Buddy Kaye - Ted Mossman Performer(s): Ray Noble and His Orch. - 1946 and multiple other artists Versions In Other Languages: 1996 - Sola Otra Vez (by Celine Dion) 2001 - Je Vous Aime Ainsi (by Jeanne Mas) 2003 - Da Solo No (by Tony Henry & The Royal Philharmonic Orch.)

Full moon and empty arms
The moon is there for us to share, but where are you?
A night like this could weave a memory
And every kiss could start a dream for two

Full moon and empty arms
Tonight I'll use the magic moon to wish upon
And next full moon, if my one wish comes true
My empty arms will be filled with you

Full moon and empty arms
Tonight I'll use the magic moon to wish upon
And next full moon, if my one wish comes true
my empty arms will be filled with you

The Latin Quarter

The Latin Quarter
Composer(s): Al Dubin - Harry Warren
Performer(s): Rudy Vallée; Megan Lynch

So this is gay Paree!
Come on along with me
We're stepping out to see - the Latin Quarter
Put on your old beret - let's sing the Marseillaise
And put our wine away like water
And are you in the mood - to have some Latin food?
And have you ever wooed - a Latin daughter?
Hoo-ray for Lafayette - Hoo-ray for crêpe Suzette
If you ain't "et" one yet - you ought'er

Come on and
(Oo-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
Oo-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
(Par... lez
(Oo-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
Oo-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
(Fran... çais
(Oo-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
Oo-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
(Their... way
Oo-la-la-la
Comme si and comme ça
Cum si and cum s'ah)

That's all the Frenchmen sing - that's how they have their fling
That's how the Frenchmen swing - The Latin Quarter
They're fifty million strong - And they can't all be wrong
Let's all - oo-la-la-la - oo-la-la-la
Oo-la-la-la - Oo-la-la-la

We'll watch an artist paint - He'll take a gal who ain't
And paint her as a saint - for just a quarter
She poses just for art - She does it from the heart
She does it à la carte - He taught'er
That gal from Armentières - Who's been around for years
Will show you souvenirs - the soldiers brought'er
She owes a lot of thanks - to quite a lot of Yanks
For what a lot of Francs - they brought'er

Come on and
(Oo-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
Oo-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
(Par... lez
(Oo-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
Oo-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
(Fran... çais
(Oo-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
Oo-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
(Their... way
Oo-la-la-la
Comme si and comme ça
Cum si and cum s'ah)

That's all the Frenchmen sing - that's how they have their fling
That's how the Frenchmen swing - The Latin Quarter
They're fifty million strong - And they can't all be wrong
Let's all - oo-la-la-la - oo-la-la-la
Oo-la-la-la - Oo-la-la-la
