Possibilities

Possibilities
Composer(s): Andrew Gill; Michael Hutchence; Danny Saber
Performer(s): Michael Hutchence

It's so strange
How my life's changed
I know nothing
About the people that I touched

Heard a story
It sounded easy
If you don't care
Then you're lying through your teeth

I was shook up
Intoxicated
Drank the juices
Of the possibilities

I'm so alive

If you told me
Nothing's perfect
Hearts are broken
Nothing's free

I could show you
Why it's worth it
That's the way that it's meant to be

It's too strange
How your life's changed
You know nothing
About the people that you've touched

Someone told me
Life is easy
Hearts were bleeding and breaking
They were lying through their teeth

If you told me
Nothing's perfect
Hearts are broken
Nothing's free

I will show you
Why it's worth it
And that's the way that it's meant to be

If you told me
Nothing's perfect
Hearts are broken
Nothing's free

I could show you
Why it's worth it
That's the way that it's meant to be

Heard a story
It sounded easy
Got a new skin and
I'm lying through my teeth
I was shook up
Intoxicated
I drank the juices of the possibilities

Of the possibilities

So In Love (Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark)

So In Love
Composer(s): Stephen Hague - Paul Humphreys - Andy McCluskey
First release by: Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - 1985
Covered by multiple other artists

Talk to me, don't lie to me
Save your breath
Don't look at me, don't smile at me
Just close your eyes
I was so impressed by you
I was running blind
I would fall for every trick
Every twist of mind

Heaven is cold
Without any soul
It's hard to believe
I was so in love with you

Don't say your prayers, don't build your hopes
Just walk away
Don't phone me up, don't call around
Don't waste your time
You were so in awe of me
You were so divine
You would do just anything
To still be mine

Heaven is cold
Without any soul
It's hard to believe
I was so in love with you

All the things you said to me
I was so obsessed
You were always talking talking
God I did my best

Heaven is cold
Without any soul
It's hard to believe
I was so in love with you ...

Hey Nana

Hey Nana
Composer(s): Guy Beyers - Charles Dumolin
First performance by: Micha Marah - 1979

Hey, kom je mee
Blijf je hier bij mij vannacht
'k heb oh... zo lang op jou gewacht
Hey, weet je wel
't is nu tijd voor 't grote spel
Jij wordt nu mijn pantofelheld
Jij neemt me in je armen
Jij neemt me in je armen
En je draagt me in ons huis
Zo zie je maar
Zo komt alles voor mekaar
Wij worden samen nu een paar
Ik zorg voor jou
Net zoals jij zorgt voor mij
En ons geluk gaat nooit voorbij
Jij neemt me in je armen
Jij neemt me in je armen
En je draagt me in ons huis
Hey hey na na na na na na na na...
Hey hey na na na na na na na na...
Hey hey na na na na na na na na...
Hey hey na na na na na na na na...
Na…

Positively 4th Street

Positively 4th Street
Composer(s): Bob Dylan
Performer(s): Bob Dylan;
and various other artists

You got a lotta nerve
To say you are my friend
When I was down
You just stood there grinning

You got a lotta nerve
To say you got a helping hand to lend
You just want to be on
The side that's winning

You say I let you down
You know it's not like that
If you're so hurt
Why then don't you show it

You say you lost your faith
But that's not where it's at
You had no faith to lose
And you know it

I know the reason
That you talk behind my back
I used to be among the crowd
You're in with

Do you take me for such a fool
To think I'd make contact
With the one who tries to hide
What he don't know to begin with

You see me on the street
You always act surprised
You say, "How are you?" "Good luck"
But you don't mean it

When you know as well as me
You'd rather see me paralyzed
Why don't you just come out once
And scream it

No, I do not feel that good
When I see the heartbreaks you embrace
If I was a master thief
Perhaps I'd rob them

And now I know you're dissatisfied
With your position and your place
Don't you understand
It's not my problem

I wish that for just one time
You could stand inside my shoes
And just for that one moment
I could be you

Yes, I wish that for just one time
You could stand inside my shoes
You'd know what a drag it is
To see you

So I Wrote You A Song

So I Wrote You A Song
Composer(s): Bob Seger
Performer(s): Bob Seger

I woke up with this feeling
There was something I wanted to say
So I wrote you a song

Lately girl I've been dreamin'
Dreamin' 'bout you all through the day
So I wrote you a song

Hope the words will be right
When I see you tonight
You'll know how I feel
I'm no longer alone
Think I've found me a home
And I think it's real

I woke up with this feeling
Haven't felt it for quite some time
So I wrote you a song

All these thoughts I've been dreaming
Somehow I've got to make them right
Got to make them belong
Everytime that you're here
Everytime that you're near
Everything is real
I'm no longer alone
Think I've found me a home
And I think it's real
So I wrote you a song

Pose Ta Joue Sur Mon Épaule

Pose Ta Joue Sur Mon Épaule
Composer(s): Charles Aznavour; Georges Garvarentz
Performer(s): Jairo

Tes lendemains

Viens contre moi
Et imagine
Ces voies divines
S'ouvrant à toi
Ces paradis aux fleurs étranges
Dont le seul ange
Sera toi et moi

Loin des gens et toutes choses
Le coeur en feu
Rideaux tirés et portes closes
Rêvons un peu, si tu veux
Que l'amour prenne contrôle
Pour te donner l'éternité
Pose ta joue sur mon épaule
Pose ta joue sur mon épaule

Je veux t'aimer

Je Suis L'enfant-Soleil

Je Suis L'enfant-Soleil
Composer(s): Eddy Marnay; Hubert Giraud
First performance by: Anne-Marie David - 1979

Soleil, soleil

Portugal

Portugal
Composer(s): Georges Moustaki; Chico Buarque; Ruy Guerra
Performer(s): Georges Moustaki

Oh muse ma complice
Petite sœur d'exil
Tu as les cicatrices
D'un 21 avril

Mais ne sois pas sévère
Pour ceux qui t'ont déçue
De n'avoir rien pu faire
Ou de n'avoir jamais su

A ceux qui ne croient plus
Voir s'accomplir leur idéal
Dis leur qu'un œillet rouge
A fleuri au Portugal

On crucifie l'Espagne
On torture au Chili
La guerre du Viêt-Nam
Continue dans l'oubli

Aux quatre coins du monde
Des frères ennemis
S'expliquent par les bombes
Par la fureur et le bruit

A ceux qui ne croient plus
Voir s'accomplir leur idéal
Dis leur qu'un œillet rouge
À fleuri au Portugal

Pour tous les camarades
Pourchassés dans les villes
Enfermés dans les stades
Déportés dans les îles

Oh muse ma compagne
Ne vois-tu rien venir
Je vois comme une flamme
Qui éclaire l'avenir

A ceux qui ne croient plus
Voir s'accomplir leur idéal
Dis leur qu'un œillet rouge
À fleuri au Portugal

Débouche une bouteille
Prends ton accordéon
Que de bouche à oreille
S'envole ta chanson

Car enfin le soleil
Réchauffe les pétales
De mille fleurs vermeilles
En avril au Portugal

Et cette fleur nouvelle
Qui fleurit au Portugal
C'est peut-être la fin
D'un empire colonial

Et cette fleur nouvelle
Qui fleurit au Portugal
C'est peut-être la fin
D'un empire colonial

They say that everyone
wants someone
So how come no one
wants me

Then they say that everyone
needs someone
So how come no one
needs me

Well if you wonder
who the loneliest creatures
in the world can be
It's the ugly duck
the little black sheep
and me

They say that everyone
loves someone
So how come no one
loves me

Well if you wonder
who the loneliest creatures
in the world can be
It's the ugly duck
the little black sheep

Portrait Of My Love

Portrait Of My Love
Composer(s): Cyril Ornadel; David West
Performer(s): Steve Lawrence;
and various other artists

There could never be a portrait of my love
For nobody could paint a dream
You will never see a portrait of my love
For miracles are never seen.

Anyone who sees her, soon forgets the Mona Lisa

It would take I know, a Michelangelo
And he would need the glow of dawn that paints the sky above
To try and paint a portrait of my love

It would take I know, a Michelangelo
And he would need the glow of dawn that paints the sky above
To try and paint a portrait of my love

Dschinghis Khan

Dschinghis Khan
Composer(s): Bernd Meinunger - Ralph Siegel First performance by: Dschinghis Khan - 1979 Covered by multiple other artists

Dsching, Dsching, Dschinghis Khan
hey Reiter - ho Leute - hey Reiter, immer weiter
Dsching, Dsching, Dschinghis Kahn
auf Brüder - sauft Brüder - rauft Brüder, immer wieder
lasst noch Wodka holen - ho, ho, ho
denn wir sind Mongolen - ha, ha, ha
und der Teufel kriegt uns früh genug

Dsching, Dsching, Dschinghis Khan
hey Reiter - ho Leute - hey Reiter, immer weiter
Dsching, Dsching, Dschinghis Khan
he Männer - ho Männer - tanzt Männer, so wie immer

denn seiner Kraft konnt' keiner widerstehen

Dsching, Dsching, Dschinghis Khan
hey Reiter - ho Leute - hey Reiter, immer weiter
Dsching, Dsching, Dschinghis Kahn
auf Brüder - sauft Brüder - rauft Brüder, immer wieder
lasst noch Wodka holen - ho, ho, ho
denn wir sind Mongolen - ha, ha, ha

Portrait En Couleurs

Portrait En Couleurs
English Title: My Colouring Book
Composer(s): J. Kander; J. Keating;
F. Ebb; Pierre Delanoë
Performer(s): Nana Mouskouri

Prenez une feuille de papier blanc
Une palette de couleurs
Amusez-vous maintenant
A faire mon portrait

Pour que mes yeux ressemblent
Aux larmes d'adieu
Prenez du bleu

Et pour mon cœur
Qui n'a plus le goût de la vie
Mettez du gris

Et pour mes nuits mes rêves
Ignore encore comment

So Hard To Give It All Up

So Hard To Give It All Up
Composer(s): Hoyt Axton
Performer(s): Hoyt Axton

So hard to give it all up when you have what you want
So hard to realize you've been a fool again
Sometimes when you take what you want you lose what you love
So hard to realize I'm losing you again

Up on the mountain is a motherless son
Sometimes he howls just like a wolf on the run
We're all just children and we're lost in the woods
The woman I love tells me she's misunderstood

And I say so hard to give it all up...

She knew she had me by the look in my eyes
She had the power she could sure hypnotize
I had been living in a fanciful dream
My heart was broken worse than you've ever seen

I say so hard to give it all up...

So hard to give it all up...

Portofino

Portofino
Composer(s): Mark Spiro; Jack White
Performer(s): Engelbert Humperdinck;
Glen Agritelley; Tony Fontaine

Long ago I used to know where love was found
A place in the sun
Long before this heart of mine had broken down
You were the one
But now you're a lonely memory
My heartache will never end
Though all of those nights are far away
I wish I were with you again

Portofino I still remember the sun in your hair
Portofino marriage to music that danced in the air
Portofino I want you back in my arms
'Cause every time I close my eyes
I'm holding you in the dark
In Portofino where you broke my heart

I think of your face and still it can take my breath away
After so long
And though I'll be lonely living for only yesterday
I'll get along though now you're a faded memory
My heartache will never end
This unforgotten melody keeps playing over and over again

Portofino I still remember the sun in your hair
Portofino marriage to music that danced in the air
Portofino I want you back in my arms
'Cause every time I close my eyes
I'm holding you in the dark
In Portofino where you broke my heart
In Portofino where you broke my heart

The British Soldier

The British Soldier
Composer(s): Harvey Andrews
Performer(s): Harvey Andrews

In a station in the city, a British soldier stood
Talking to the people there, if the people would
Some just stared in hatred, and others turned in pain
And the lonely British soldier wished he was back home again

'Come join the British Army' said the posters in his town
See the world and have your fun, come serve before the Crown
The jobs were hard to come by and he could not face the dole
So he took his country's shilling and enlisted on the roll

For there was no fear of fighting, the Empire long was lost
Just ten years in the army, getting paid for being bossed
Then leave a man experienced, a man who's made the grade
A medal and a pension, some mem'ries and a trade

Then came the call for Ireland as the call had come before
Another bloody chapter in an endless civil war
The priests they stood on both sides, the priests they stood behind
Another fight in Jesus's name, the blind against the blind

The soldier stood between them, between the whistling stones
And then the broken bottles that led to broken bones
The petrol bombs that burnt his hands, the nails that pierced his skin
And wished that he had stayed at home surrounded by his kin

The station filled with people, the soldier soon was bored
But better in the station than where the people warred
The room filled up with mothers, with daughters and with sons
Who stared with itchy fingers at the soldier and his gun

A yell of fear, a screech of brakes, the shattering of glass
The window of the station broke to let the package pass
A scream came from the mothers as they ran towards the door
Dragging their children crying from the bomb upon the floor

The soldier stood and could not move, his gun he could not use
He knew the bomb had seconds and not minutes on the fuse
He could not run and pick it up and throw it in the street
There were far too many people there, too many running feet

"Take cover," yelled the soldier, "Take cover for your lives"
And the Irishmen threw down their young and stood before their wives
They turned towards the soldier, their eyes alive with fear
For God's sake save our children or they'll end their short lives here

The soldier moved towards the bomb, his stomach like a stone
Why was this his battle, God, why was he alone
He lay down on the package and he murmured one farewell
To those at home in England, to those he loved so well

He saw the sights of summer, felt the wind upon his brow
The young girls in the city parks, how precious were they now
The soaring of the swallow, the beauty of the swan
The music of the turning world, so soon would it be gone

A muffled soft explosion and the room began to quake
The soldier blown across the floor, his blood a crimson lake
There was no time to cry or shout, there was no time to moan
And they turned their children's faces from the blood and from the bones

The crowd outside soon gathered and the ambulances came
To carry off the body of a pawn lost in the game
And the crowd they clapped and cheered and they sang their rebel song
One soldier less to interfere where he did not belong

And will the children growing up learn at their mothers' knees
The story of the soldier who bought their liberty
Who used his youthful body as a means towards an end
Who gave his life to those who called him murderer not friend

Porterville

Porterville
Composer(s): John Fogerty
Performer(s): Creedence Clearwater Revival

It's been an awful long time since I been home
But you won't catch me goin' back down there alone
Things they said when I was young are quite enough to get me hung
I don't care! I don't care!

They came and took my Dad away to serve some time
But it was me that paid the debt he left behind
Folks said I was full of sin, because I was the next of kin
I don't care! I don't care!

Oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo!
I don't care! I don't care!

Folks were out one night to put me up a fence
And you can guess that I've been runnin' ever since
Ain't no one that's 'bout to help, and I'll keep on, I tell myself
I don't care! I don't care!

I don't care! I don't care!
I don't care! I don't care!

Ain't no one that's 'bout to help
And I'll keep on, I tell myself
I don't care! I don't care!
I don't care! I don't care!
I don't care! I don't care!
I don't care! I don't care!
I don't care! I don't care!

In the Blue Canadian Rockies
Spring is sighin' through the trees
And the golden poppies are bloomin'
Round the banks of Lake Louise

Across the sea they call me
And I'm lonesome and so blue
For the Blue Canadian Rockies
And the girl I love so true

Spring is sighin' through the trees
Round the banks of Lake Louise

Across the sea they call me
And I'm lonesome and so blue
For the Blue Canadian Rockies
And the girl I love so true

Porta Portese

Porta Portese
Composer(s): Claudio Baglioni; Antonio Coggio
Performer(s): Claudio Baglioni

e i suoi occhi han visto re
scannati ricchi ed impiegati
capelloni ladri artisti e figli di...
- e figli di...

Porta Portese
Porta Portese
Porta Portese
cosa avrai di più?...

Vado avanti a gomitate
tra la gente che si affolla
le patacche che ti ammolla quello là
ci ha di tutto pezzi d'auto
spade antiche quadri falsi
e la foto nuda di Brigitte Bardot...
- Brigitte Bardot...

Porta Portese
Porta Portese
Porta Portese
cosa avrai di più?...

Tutti rotti quei calzoni

"A ragà...
ma che hai fatto?
Ma 'sti carzoni li vòi o nun li vòi?"
Porta Portese
Porta Portese
Porta Portese
cosa avrai tu?

Porta Portese
Porta Portese
Porta Portese
cosa avrai tu?

Porta Portese
Porta Portese
Porta Portese
cosa avrai di più?
"Fiore de sale
l'amore fa penà ma nun se mòre...
d'amore nun se mòre
ma se sta male..."

Golden Memories And Silver Tears

Golden Memories And Silver Tears
Composer(s): Cindy Walker
Performer(s): Jim Reeves

I dream of a golden moon and silver stars
When first we met and danced to sweet guitars
Music that breaks my heart bringing me dear golden memories and silver tears
Golden memories and silver tears are my lonely heart's suvenirs
All that you've left me are memories dear golden memories and silver tears

And now dear my golden moon pass and turn to blue
And all those silver stars are gone with you
Old memory of love bringing me pain oh how sad to love and love all in vain
Golden memories and silver tears...
