La Fleur Aux Dents

La Fleur Aux Dents
Composer(s): Joe Dassin - Claude Lemesle
First release by: Joe Dassin - 1971
Covered by multiple other artists

Qu'on attendait

Qu'on attendait

Qu'on attendait

Driftin' Down The Dreamy Ol' Ohio

Driftin' Down The Dreamy Ol' Ohio
Composer(s): Jack Elliot - Harold Spina Performer(s): Jo Stafford & Gordon Macrae

I'm going driftin' down the dreamy ol' Ohio
on a midnight moonlight ride
Oh it's so lovey, dovey, on the ol' Ohio
with my darling by my side
On the Ohio, the lights along the shadowy shore wink as we go by
And even the man up in the moon knows the reason why

I'm going driftin' down the dreamy ol' Ohio on a midnight moonlight ride
Driftin' down the dreamy ol' Ohio what a midnight moonlight ride
Oh it's so lovey dovey on the ol' Ohio with my darling by my side
The lights along the shadowy shore wink as we go by
And even the man up in the moon knows the reason why

I'm going driftin' down the dreamy ol' Ohio
Down the ol' Ohio, on a magic moonlight ride
Oh it's so lovey, dovey, on the ol' Ohio
(on the ol' Ohio) on a magic moonlight ride
Driftin' along on a moonlight ride!

Tell Me Why (Pat Benatar)

Tell Me Why
(Traditional)
Performer(s): Pat Benatar

Tell me why the stars do shine
Tell me why the ivy twines
Tell me why the sky's so blue
And then I'll tell you just why I love you

Because God made the stars to shine
Because God made the ivy twine
Because God made the sky's so blue
Because God made you, that's why I love you

Tell me why the stars do shine
Tell me why the ivy twines
Because God made the sky's so blue
Because God made you, that's why I love you

Drift Off To Dream

Drift Off To Dream
Composer(s): Travis Tritt - Stewart Harris Performer(s): Travis Tritt

As I sit here surrounded by people and lives
Alone with my drink at the bar
You've been here forever, so clear in my mind
I just don't know where you are
But I know I'll find you but girl till I do
This is my love song for you

Let's hold hands on the porch swing under the moon
While the wind through the willows plays us a tune
We can lie on a blanket out back in the yard
And wish for our future on a far away star
And you'll feel the passion as time after time
I press your sweet lips to mine
We can dance to the radio right up 'til dawn
'Til you drift off to dream in my arms

You might be hundreds or more miles away
Or you might be just down the street
But there'll be a hunger deep in your eyes
That I'll recognize when we meet
It might take hours or it might take years
But this is the song you will hear

Let's hold hands on the porch swing under the moon
While the wind through the willows plays us a tune
We can lie on a blanket out back in the yard
And wish for our future on a far away star
And you'll feel the passion as time after time
I press your sweet lips to mine
We can dance to the radio right up 'til dawn
'Til you drift off to dream in my arms

And you'll feel the passion as time after time
I press your sweet lips to mine
We can dance to the radio right up 'til dawn
'Til you drift off to dream in my arms

La Fisarmonica

La Fisarmonica
Composer(s): Bruno Zambrini - Francesci Migliacci
Performer(s): Gianni Morandi

te ne andavi da me, amor

Drift Away

Drift Away
((French Version: À Double Tour (Johnny Hallyday) - 1980)) Composer(s): Mentor Williams First release by: John Henry Kurtz - 1972 Covered by multiple other artists

Day after day I get more confused
Trying to see the light through pouring rain
I came here to win and had to lose
'Cause the feeling is strange I'm losing you

But give me the beat boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock 'n roll and drift away
Give me the beat boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock 'n roll and drift away

(say Rich) Sing it to the people now
Well, sometimes I think, I'm a wasting time
I don't understand the things I feel alone
The world outside seems so unkind, so unkind
Well, I'm depending on you, so yeah, to see me through

Give me the beat boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock 'n roll and drift away

(help us out everybody; help us sing)
Give me the beat boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock 'n roll and drift away

(now it's your turn, come on)
Give me the beat boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock 'n roll and drift away

(come on, one more time)
Give me the beat boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock 'n roll and drift away

(yeah, that sounds good)
But give me the beat boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock 'n roll and drift away

La Fille Qui M'accompagne

La Fille Qui M'accompagne
Composer(s): Francis Cabrel
Performer(s): Francis Cabrel

Dreyfus

Dreyfus
Composer(s): Yves Duteil Performer(s): Yves Duteil

Je suis un peu ton fils
Et je retrouve en moi
Ta foi dans la justice
Et ta force au combat

Dans ton honneur déchu
Malgré ta peine immense
Tu n'as jamais perdu
Ton amour pour la France

Et s'il ne reste qu'un murmure
Pour te défendre
Par-delà tous les murs
Il faut l'entendre

Je suis un peu ce frère
Qui remue les montagnes
Lorsque tu désespères
Dans ton île, en Guyane

Et je souffre avec toi
Des fers que l'on t'a mis
Pour écraser ton âme
Et pour briser ta vie

Mais pourquoi fallait-il
Pour t'envoyer au Diable
Te prendre dans les fils
De ce piège effroyable?

J'ai vu souvent mon père
S'assombrir tout à coup
Quand j'évoquais "L'Affaire"
Comme on disait chez nous

Et j'ai vécu longtemps
Sans rompre ce silence
Comme un secret pesant
Parfois, sur la conscience

J'imaginais comment
Des hommes étaient capables
D'arrêter l'innocent
Pour en faire un coupable

Il était Alsacien
Français, juif, capitaine
Vivant parmi les siens
À Paris, dix-septième

Quand, un matin d'octobre
On l'accuse, on l'emmène
Vers douze ans de méprise
Et d'opprobe et de haine

Traité plus bas qu'un chien
Laissé dans l'ignorance
De tous ceux qui, sans fin
Luttaient pour sa défense

Courageux, opiniâtres
Jouant parfois leur vie
Sur un coup de théâtre
En s'exposant pour lui

Je suis un peu son fils
Et c'est moi que l'on traîne
Au Palais d'injustice
En l'écoutant à peine

Et quand Paris s'enflamme
Alors qu'on l'injurie
Le coupable pavane
À quatre pas d'ici...

Lucie...
Mon corps est à genoux
Mais mon âme est debout
Un jour je reviendrai
Vers la terre de France
Crier mon innocence
Et retrouver la paix

Ici...
Je n'ai plus rien de toi
Et j'ai peur, quelquefois
Que ma raison s'égare
Si je perds la mémoire
Si j'oublie qui je suis
Qui pourra dire alors
À ceux qui m'aiment encore
Que je n'ai pas trahi
Que j'ai toujours porté
L'amour de mon pays
Bien plus haut que ma vie
Bien plus haut que la vie?

C'était il y a cent ans
Dreyfus est mort depuis
Mais je porte en chantant
Tout l'espoir de sa vie

Pour la mémoire des jours
Puisqu'en son paradis
On sait depuis toujours
Qu'il n'a jamais trahi

Il n'a jamais trahi
Son cœur, ni son pays

La Fille D'un Garçon

La Fille D'un Garçon
Performer(s): France Gall

Tralalalalala

Au mois d'octobre en la maison
J'ai retrouvé d'autres amis
Et j'ai appris d'autres chansons
Plus froides et moins jolies

Au mois d'octobre en la maison
J'ai pas menti, je n'ai rien dit
J'étais la fille d'un garçon
Qui n'a jamais écrit
Qui n'a jamais écrit

Dress You Up

Dress You Up
Composer(s): Peggy Stanziale - Andrea LaRusso First release by: Madonna - 1984 Covered by multiple other artists

You've got style, that's what all the girls say
Satin sheets and luxuries so fine
All your suits are custom made in London
But I've got something that you'll really like

Gonna dress you up in my love
All over, all over
Gonna dress you up in my love
All over your body

Feel the silky touch of my caresses
They will keep you looking so brand new
Let me cover you with velvet kisses
I'll create a look that's made for you

Gonna dress you up in my love
All over, all over
Gonna dress you up in my love
All over your body

Gonna dress you up in my love, in my love
All over your body, all over your body
In my love
All over, all over
From your head down to your toes

La Fille Du Square

La Fille Du Square
Composer(s): Pascal Lefebvre
Performer(s): Johnny Hallyday

Pourtant quelque chose manque à mon histoire

Drei Tannen

Drei Tannen
Performer(s): Ditta Zuza Einzinger (aka Lolita)

Drei Tannen stehen unten im Tal
Und der Wildbach singt leise sein Lied
Solange im Tal die drei Tannen stehen
Werden Wunder auf Erden geschehen

Wenn wir durch die Wiese ziehen
Wie zwei Kinder, Hand in Hand
Wo die bunten Blumen blühen
Im dem schönen Heimatland
Hören wir den Wildbach räuschen
Gibt est keine Sorgen mehr
Dann wollen wir mit keinem täuschen
Auch wenn’s dann fröhlich wär’

Drei Tannen stehen unten im Tal
Und der Wildbach singt leise sein Lied
Solange im Tal die drei Tannen stehen
Werden Wunder auf Erden geschehen

Lasst uns zu den Tannen gehen
Wo die alte Hütte steht
Lasst uns zu den Sternen sehen
Wie ein kleines Nacht (?)
Lasst uns zu den Herr Gott sagen
Gibt nur Acht auf die Natur
Niemand sohl die Tannen schlagen
Sie sind die Lebensuhr

Drei Tannen stehen unten im Tal
Und der Wildbach singt leise sein Lied
Solange im Tal die drei Tannen stehen
Werden Wunder auf Erden geschehen

Drei Tannen stehen unten im Tal
Und der Wildbach singt leise sein Lied
Solange im Tal die drei Tannen stehen
Werde Wunder auf Erden geschehen ....

La Fille Du Shérif

La Fille Du Shérif
((Adapted from: High Sheriff Of Calhoun Parrish (by Tony Joe White) - 1970))
Composer(s): Tony Joe White - Claude Lemesle - Pierre Delanoë
Performer(s): Joe Dassin - 1979

High Sheriff Of Calhoun Parrish

High Sheriff Of Calhoun Parrish
((French Version: La Fille Du Shérif (by Joe Dassin) - 1979))
Composer(s): Tony Joe White
First release by: Tony Joe White - 1970

It was said of the sheriff of Calhoun Parrish
Not to whiffer touched his daughter Emily
Far to look at her with a lustful eye were certain
To get you time in the pinna tannery
It was true she was quite voluptious
And it was true she had eyes for me
Then one night at a dance she walked up to me
And asked me would I meet her down by the creek uh

As I listened to her dangerous proposal
I thought about the high sheriff catching me
As I shook my head and quietly left the party
I heard a laughing say "You'll be sorry"
Then there came upon my door a loud disturbance
I opened it to the sheriff and his deputy
He said "Son did you molest my daughter?" uhu
I said "Sheriff I do not know of what you speak"
And they grabbed me roughly by the coller
And flung me sprawling out into the street
There were days in the jail with claustrophobia
And all out of there winked Emily

Well I find to work a bar loose from the window
And made my way into the woods of Calhoun
Late that night I came upon a cabin
It was the home of Ira Cross a friend I knew

Would ya'all mind if I sit down at your table?
Cause it's been a while since I've had time to eat
And I pay you all back when I'm able
But right now the high sheriff is after me

Yes he is
Oh yeah

Dreamy Moon

Dreamy Moon
Composer(s): Sidney Carter - Walter Smith

Shadows falling, night time is here
Sleep little honey, the sandman is near
Angels guard your sleep, little dear
Slumber till golden sunbeams appear
Starlight and moonlight bring silver and gold
Go to sleep, don't you peep
Don't mind the tear drop in your mammy's eye
Nor her sigh, but slumber deep
Shadows falling, night time is here
Sleep little honey, the sandman is near
Mother's humming this little croon
Bring sleep to baby, dreamy moon

La Fille Du Motel

La Fille Du Motel
Composer(s): Claude Moine - Pierre Papadiamandis
Performer(s): Eddy Mitchell

Le jour se lève
Pour la fille du motel
Un matin banal
Un soleil tout pâle
Un samedi en hiver
Elle est bien coiffée
Elle part travailler
C'est vraiment pas Noël
Pour la fille du motel

Machinalement
Elle mâchonne son pain blanc
Finit son café
Se met à fumer
En rêvant et pourtant
Huit heures ont sonné
Ça va commencer
C'est vraiment pas Noël
Pour la fille du motel

Le client de la chambre cent
Réclame encore des croissants
La chambre vingt est partie
Il faut refaire le lit
Le salon est réservé
On attend des jeunes mariés
Les enfants feront du bruit
Les hommes boiront toute la nuit

Son fiancé
Ce soir viendra la chercher
Ils iront dîner
Peut-être au ciné
Puis l'amour, fatigués
Devant la télé
Dans les draps brodés
C'est vraiment pas Noël
Pour la fille du motel

Parfois il y a des clients
Un peu fous
Un peu marrants
Ils ne parlent que de musique
Et de filles fantastiques
Elle aimerait avoir le temps
De leur parler un moment
S'évader vers l'irréel
Oublier la fille du motel
Elle aimerait avoir le temps
De leur parler un moment
S'évader vers l'irréel
Oublier la fille du motel

Dreamy Melody

Dreamy Melody
Composer(s): Ted Koehler - Frank Magine - C. Naset Performer(s): Stinson Organ Band

I'm in love with a melody that captured me
it's a part of my heart haunting me and I'm forever saying

Night and day like a magic charm that melody comes to me
constantly thrilling me and that's why I keep saying

Play that dreamy melody that soothing refrain
play it sweet and tenderly
I don't know why it haunts me so I seem to hear it everywhere
I go play that magic harmony
'twill linger forever just like a memory
oh let me dream and play for me that melody

La Fille Du Bédouin

La Fille Du Bédouin
Composer(s): Raoul Moretti - André Barde
Performer(s): Georges Milton
