1962 - Roy Orbison: Crying

1961 - Bobby 'Blue' Bland: Two Steps From The Blues.

Songs zoals het titelnummer, 'Cry, Cry, Cry', 'I Don't Want No Woman', 'I'm Not Ashamed', 'Lead Me On' en 'Little Boy Blue' plaatsen zelfs een standard als 'St. James Infirmary' in de schaduw.

1961 - Etta James: At Last!

Op het album staan vier van haar hits ('All I could do was cry', 'At last', 'Trust in me' en 'My dearest darling'). Met verve waagde zij zich ook aan de Willie Dixon classic 'I just want to make love to you' en aan 'Stormy weather', nog zo een klassieker. het album bewees dat James zowel blues, jazz als r&b aankon.

1959 - Jacques Brel: La Valse A Mille Temps.
