Pim Fortuyn met hondjes levert 41.000 euro op
 Een schilderij waarop Pim Fortuyn met zijn hondjes Carla en Kenneth staat afgebeeld, is voor 41.000 euro verkocht op de veiling van de inboedel van de politicus. De hele collectie Fortuyn was op de veiling goed voor 495.000 euro.

Het schilderij was een van de topstukken die in het Nijmeegse Veilinghuis Hessink's onder de hamer gingen. De aansteker die Fortuyn bij zich droeg toen hij werd vermoord, leverde 9.100 euro op.

"De kunststukken hebben niet zo veel opgebracht als gedacht. Alleen de spullen die echt wat met Pim Fortuyn te maken hadden, leverden veel op", zei veilingmeester Richard Hessink.

Het duurde elf uur, voordat Hessink alle negenhonderd stukken of 'kavels' onder de hamer had gebracht. Het was dan ook erg druk in het veilinghuis; in de zaal zaten ongeveer zevenhonderd mensen. (br.hln))
