My heart full of compassion
I cannot ease your aching heart, nor take the pain away. But let me stay and take your hand and walk with you today. Ill listen when you need to talk, Ill wipe your tears away. Ill share your worries when they come, Ill help you face your fears. Im here and I will stand by you, each hill you have to climb. So take my hand lets face the word, live one day at a time. Youre not alone for Im still here, Ill go that extra mile, And when your grief is easier, Ill help you learn to smile
The Silent Lover
Wrong not, sweet empress of my heart, The merit of true passion, With thinking that he feels no smart, That sues for no compassion.
Silence in love betrays more woe Than words, though ne'er so witty. A beggar that is dumb, you know, May challenge double pity.
Then wrong not, dearest to my heart. My true, though secret passion, He smartest most that hides his smart, And sues for no compassion.
"I believe all suffering is caused by ignorance. People inflict pain on others in the selfish pursuit of their happiness or satisfaction. Yet true happiness comes from a sense of peace and contentment, which in turn must be achieved through the cultivation of altruism, of love and compassion, and elimination of ignorance, selfishness, and greed."
The Man And The Cocoon
A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further.
So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings.
The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time.
Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly.
What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were Allaah's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.
Macho
Gossip, Nobody's friend, by Anonymous
My name is Gossip. I have no respect for justice. I maim without killing. I break hearts and ruin lives. I am cunning and malicious and gather strength with age. The more I am quoted the more I am believed. I flourish at every level of society. My victims are helpless. They cannot protect themselves against me because I have no name and no face. To track me down is impossible for you. The harder you try, the more elusive I become. I am nobody's friend. Once I tarnish a reputation, it is never the same. I topple governments and wreck marriages. I ruin careers and cause sleepless nights, heartache and indigestion. I spawn suspicion and generate grief. I make innocent people cry in their pillows. Even my name hisses. I am called Gossip. Office gossip. Shop gossip. Party gossip. Telephone gossip. I make headlines and headaches. Before you repeat a story ask yourself, is it true? Is it fair? Is it necessary? If not, keep it to yourself. If you spend as much time praying as you do talking about others behind their backs, you would be further ahead spiritually.
I asked Allaah I asked Allaah to take away my habit Allaah said: No, it is not for Me to take it away, but for you to give it up.
I asked Allaah to make my handicapped child whole Allaah said: No, his spirit is whole, his body is only temporary.
I asked Allaah to grant me patience Allaah said: No, patience is a by-product of tribulations; it isnt granted, it is learned.
I asked Allaah to give me happiness Allaah said: No, I give you blessings. Happiness is up to you.
I asked Allaah to spare me pain Allaah said: No, suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.
I asked Allaah to make my spirit grow Allaah said: No, you must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.
I asked Allaah for all things that I might enjoy life Allaah said: No, I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things.
