Hier haal ik een stukje aan uit het boek van Roberta Temes 'Getting your life back together when you have schizophrenia', een enorm akritisch en typisch amerikaans boek:
In Chapter Eleven, in de '21 steps toward recovery':
"Step 9 'Let him keep smoking': "Yes, we all know that smoking is bad for your health. But almost 90 percent of schizophrenic patients are nicotine dependent (George 2000). That's not a coincidence. It is because nicotine is utilized by the brain in a way that gives comfort to a person who has schizophrenia."
Hebben sommige onderzoekers niets beters te doen? Erg interessante onderzoeken! En dit zijn onderzoeken, waar afgestudeerde mensen zich serieus mee bezig houden.
