5. Het COMETA-rapport uit Frankrijk.

Het officiële COMETA-rapport onder de titel “UFO’s en DEFENSIE: Waarop dienen voorbereid te zijn?”(Les OVNI et La DEFENSE: A QUOI doit-on se préparer? ) werd op vrijdag 16 juli 1999 in Frankrijk gepubliceerd. Het is een waardige bijdrage bij de UFO-studie met positieve aspecten. Het rapport telt 90 bladzijden en was het resultaat van een grondige studie over UFO’s, die vele aspecten van het onderwerp dekte, vooral vragen over de nationale veiligheid. De studie liep meerdere jaren door een groep onafhankelijk vroegeren toehoorders van het “Institut des Hautes Etudes de la Défense National” (I.H.E.D.N.) en door gekwalificeerde experts op verschillende onderzoeksgebieden. Alvorens het rapport vrij te geven aan het publiek, werd het eers naar de Franse president Jacques CHIRAC en zijn eerste minister Lionel JOSPIN gezonden.

De volgende woorden komen uit de openingsverklaring, gehouden in het rapport door de Franse luchtmachtgeneraal Denis LETTY, en schetst een aantal goede backgroundgegevens over COMETA en zijn bevindingen. “De opeenstapeling van goed gedokumenteerde UFO-waarnemingen, gedaan door geloofwaardige getuigen, dwingen ons van nu af aan na te denken over alle hypothesen, die handelen over de origine van Onbekende Vliegende Objecten of UFO’s en in het bijzonder over de buitenaardse hypothese.”

Het dokument gaat verder:

- Alhoewel geen onmiddellijk gevaar uit de waargenomen gegevens in

Frankrijk blijkt, lijkt het toch noodzakelijk voor de vroegere auditors van het

“INSTITUT des HAUTES ETUDES de DEFENSE NATIONAL (I.H.E.D.N.)”

het onderwerp na te gaan en op te volgen. Samen met gekwalificeerde experts

met totaal verschillende specialiteiten en achtergronden, worden ze samen

gebracht om een particulier detailzoekend comité te vormen, dat de naam

COMETA kreeg. Dit comité werd omgevormd tot een COMETA-associatie,

waarvan ik voorzitter ben.

Van COMETA maakte verder de volgende personen deel uit:

Luchtmachtgeneraal Bruno LE MOINE; wapeningenieur generaal Pierre

BESCOND en politiechef Denis BLANCHER. De personen die verder

bijdroegen tot de studie waren Edmond CAMPAGNE, vroegere technische

directeur van de Franse luchtmacht, eskadercommandant Michel PERRIER

en luchtmachtgeneraal Joseph DOMAGE. Tussen de bestudeerde

onderwerpen in het rapport bevonden zich: de getuigenissen van Franse

piloten, die UFO’s waargenomen hadden; nabije ontmoetingen in Franrijk;

luchtfenomenenvan de hele wereld; UFO-incidenten gebaseerd op

radarvaststellingen en politieke, godsdienstige en wetenschappelijke

gevolgen, verbonden aan het UFO-mysterie. De gebeurtenissen van 1947 in

Roswell, New Mexico, U.S.A. worden eveneens besproken in een bijlage met

als titel “De Roswell affaire – Disinformatie”. Dit deel toont aan op welke

wijze het programma van de Amerikaanse overheid succesvol werkte om

disinformatie te verspreiden om zo de belangstelling van de media af te leiden

en de waarheid geweld aan te doen omtrent de reële feiten achter de Roswell

UFO-crash.

Was COMETA een pseudo “officieel rapport”? Een aantal ufologen heeft geprobeerd het Cometa rapport te presenteren als een “quasi-officieel Frans dokument”, “een dokument dat het UFO-fenomeen een quasi-officiële status geeft”, gepubliceerd “onder de auspiciën van een instituut dicht bij het ministerie van defensie”, of “door COMETA, een ondersteuningsgenootschap voor het I.H.E.D.N.”, en verscheidene andere gelijkluidende verklaringen. Meer nog, we lezen in een aantal UFO-publicaties dat de president en de premier van de republiek “akkoord gingen het rapport openbaar” te maken of dat “dit strikt vertrouwelijk rapport naar de media is gestuurd met goedkeuring van de hoogste regeringskringen”. Omdat “het duidelijk is dat het besluit het rapport openbaar te maken van een hoger niveau komt dan Cometa, een belangrijk detail dat de journalisten gemist hebben.”

Kortweg, “het deksel is officieel van een taboeonderwerp gehaald.”

De waarheid is echter minder opwindend. De aankondiging die dit rapport presenteerde als “ Het vertrouwelijk rapport dat is voorgedragen aan de president en de premier van de republiek” lijkt een simpele publiciteitstruc op de cover van de speciale uitgave van het tijdschrift V.S.D. dat het dokument publiceerde. Zo begint G. Bourdais, die niet altijd zo gewetensvol is, een van zijn teksten met “het feit dat dit een onafhankelijk rapport is moet benadrukt worden, geschreven door een particulier instituut: COMETA.” (Gildas Bourdais: ‘Rapport Français sur les Ovnis et la Défense,’ Contact-Ovni, 3de kwartaal 1999, blz. 13). Een korte verklaring die al enkele dingen suggereert…

P. Petrakis geeft in zijn beoordeling van het Cometa Rapport getiteld “Reacties” echter de volgende informatie (Perry Petrakis, ‘La Guerre de Mondes, version Cometa’, Phenomena 1999, nr. 42, blz. 17):

“Om bij het begin te beginnen, distantieert het I.H.E.D.N. (Institut des Hautes Etudes de la Défense Nationale) zich van het Cometa Rapport: Alles waar generaal Norlain na zijn vertrek bij het I.H.E.D.N. mee bezig is geweest en heeft geschreven valt alleen onder zijn eigen verantwoordelijkheid en niet die van het I.H.E.D.N.. De persdienst van het instituut heeft verklaard “verrast” te zijn door dit rapport. Na vragen onzerzijds liet het Elysée weten geen antwoord te kunnen geven vanwege de vakanties. In Matignon (in het Elysée zetelt de president en in Matignon de premier) bevestigde M. Henri Petitgand, een “regeringsgemachtigde”, dat hij iets van het postkantoor had ontvangen: “Het lijkt in niets op een rapport. Rapporten zijn documenten waarom gevraagd is, maar in dit geval hebben wij nergens om verzocht. Het document werd ons per post toegestuurd, louter op initiatief van de schrijvers.” Het woord “Rapport” op de cover is dus nogal aanmatigend.

Omdat ik zelf een duidelijk overzicht van de situatie wilde krijgen, vroeg ik op 31 januari 2000 aan betrokken partijen (het kantoor van de president en de premier, de bevelvoerend generaal van het I.H.E.D.N. en de voorzitter van OMETA) om de status van het ‘COMETA Rapport’. Tot nu toe (3 mei 2000) heb ik de drie onderstaande antwoorden ontvangen:

• Brief gedateerd op 23 februari van generaal Bastien, van de speciale staf van de president: “In antwoord op uw vraag beantwoordt dit ‘rapport’ dat is samengesteld door leden van een instituut opgericht onder de wet van 1901 (bepalend voor de meeste niet-commerciële instituten in Frankrijk) niet aan welk officieel verzoek dan ook en heeft geen speciale status. U zult hebben opgemerkt (blz. 7) dat de schrijvers, meenden, onder allerlei andere aanspraken, de besluitvormers over dit onderwerp te moeten informeren. In die geest moet deze kopie ter informatie aan de president van de republiek worden gezien.”

• Volgens luitenant-kolonel Pierre Bayle, hoofd van de persdienst van I.H.E.D.N., “wenst het Instituut duidelijk te maken dat verklaringen van deze personen alleen hen aangaan, en op geen enkele manier de mening weerspiegelen van het IHEDN, die over dit onderwerp geen speciale informatie heeft.”

Natuurlijk kan je stellen dat zulke verklaringen misleidend zijn, omdat politieke en militaire autoriteiten heel goed weten dat UFO’s bestaan. Toch zijn bovenstaande geciteerde verklaringsstandpunten de enige objectieve realiteit over de ware status die aan het COMETA Rapport wordt verleend.

Tenslotte schrijft de woordvoerder voor COMETA Michel Algrin, in een brief gedateerd 18 april, dat “Het COMETA genootschap niet veranwoordelijk is voor de her en der gemaakte fouten in de presentatie van haar rapport. De aan dit dokument verbonden status wordt in de tekst zelf beschreven. Het rapport werd niet gepubliceerd door een tijdschrift, maar door de mediaonderneming GS Presse (uitgever van het V.S.D.tijdschrift) die zodoende een wijde verspreiding kon garanderen. Er waren verschillende redenen om het rapport te publiceren: in het bijzonder om te verhinderen dat er onjuist geciteerde versies van de tekst zouden gaan circuleren.” Hij eindigt met: “COMETA wenst niet mee te gaan in de controversiële uitgangspunten. Het blijft bij haar bevindingen in dit rapport”.

In juni 2003 werd het COMETA-rapport onder boekvorm gepubliceerd en werd zo toegankelijke voor een breder publiek...

3. De N.A.S.A. en UFO’s.

Je vraagt je misschien net als ik af welke belangstelling het “NATIONAL AERONAUTICS and SPACE ADMINISTRATION (N.A.S.A.)” toonde voor de UFO-problematiek. Wel, we moeten ons tevreden stellen met het volgende perscommuniqué:

Geen enkele tak van de overheid van de Verenigde Staten is actueel betrokken met of verantwoordelijk voor onderzoeksprojecten naar de mogelijkheid van vergevorderde, intelligente aliën beschavingen op andere planeten of voor onderzoeken naar Unidentified Flying Objets (UFOs). De U.S. luchtmacht (USAF) en de National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) hadden bij tussenpozen, onafhankelijke onderzoeken naar de mogelijkheid van aliën leven op andere planeten. Hoedanook, geen van deze studies bracht feitelijk bewijs aan het licht dat leven buiten onze planeet bestaat, noch dat UFO’s verbonden zijn met buitenaardse ruimtetuigen. Van 1947 en 1969 onderzocht de luchtmacht UFO-meldingen. In 1977 werd de N.A.S.A. gevraagd om de mogelijkheid te onderzoeken voor de hervatting van het UFO-onderzoek. Na het bestuderen van alle beschikbare feiten, stelde ze vast dat er geen winst te halen was bij verder onderzoek, omdat er geen aanwezigheid was van tastbaar bewijs.

In oktober 1992 kreeg de NASA de opdracht om een gedetailleerde zoektocht te starten naar artificiële radiosignalen van andere beschavingen onder de noemer NASA TOWARDS OTHER PLANETARY SYSTEMS (T.O.P.S.) – HIGH RESOLUTION MICROWAVE SURVEY (H.R.M.S.) PROGRAM. Dit project is beter bekend onder de algemene naam SEARCH for EXTRATERRESTRIAL INTELLIGENCE PROJECT (S.E.T.I.). Het H.R.M.S. ontdekte geen enkel bevestigd signaal tot het stopgezet werd. Niettemin werd een soortgelijk werk verder gezet door particuliere groepen en door academische instituten. Het “SEARCH for EXTRATERRESTRIAL INTELLIGENCE INSTITUTE (S.E.T.I. instituut) in MOUNTAINVIEW, CALIFORNIA, verving effectief het project van de overheid. Ze namen zelfs het signaal uitzendend systeem in bruikleen van de N.A.S.A.. Het SETI instituut, een nonprofit coörporatie, verricht onderzoek in een aantal area’s, inbegrepen alle wetenschappelijke en technologische aspecten van astronomie en planetaire wetenschappen, chemische evolutie, de ontstaan van het leven, de biologische evolutie en de culturele evolutie. Tijdens meerdere ruimtemissies rapporteerden de NASA-astronauten verschijnselen, die niet direct verklaarbaar waren. Niettemin kon de NASA op elk ogenblik bepalen dat de waarnemingen niet als “ABNORMAAL” konden beschouwd worden in de omgeving van de ruimte.

De USAF-onderzoeken van 1947 tot 1969 bestudeerden UFO’s onder de noemer van Project Blue Book. Het project, met zijn hoofdkwartier in de luchtmachtbasis van Wright-patterson werd op 17 december 1969 stopgezet.

Van het geheel van 12.618 onderzochte UFO-rapporten uiit Blue Book, bleven 701 gevallen “ONGEÏDENTIFICEERD”.

De beslissing om de UFO-onderzoeken te beëindigen was gebaseerd op een rapport, opgesteld door de Universiteit van COLORADO. Het rapport droeg de naam “SCIENTIFIC STUDY of UNIDENTIFIED FLYING OBJETS”. Verder was er een evaluatie van het rapport door de National Academy of Science, de besluiten van voorgaande UFO-studies en de ervaring van de luchtmacht met het onderzoeken van UFO-rapporten in de 40’, 50’ en 60’jaren. Als een eindconclusie van ervaring, onderzoek en studies sinds 1948, luiden de vaststellingen als het volgt:

1) geen enkel UFO-rapport, onderzocht en geëvalueerd door de luchtmacht vormde ooit een bedreiging voor de nationale veiligheid;

2) er was geen enkel bewijs voorgelegd of ontdekt door de luchtmacht, dat een UFO-rapport met het label “unidentified” technologische ontwikkelingen of principes voorstellen buiten de grenzen van de moderne, wetenschappelijke kennis;

3) er was geen bewijs dat aanduidde dat de meldingen, gecatalogeerd als “unidentified” buitenaardse ruimtetuigen waren.

Met het stopzetten van Project Blue Book werd de USAF richtlijn voor het instellen en het controleren van het onderzoeksprogramma en de analyse van UFO’s vernietigd. Dokumentatie, betreffende het vroegere Project Blue Book onderzoek werden permanent ondergebracht naar het “MODERN MILITARY BRANCH, NATIONAL ARCHIVES and RECORD SERVICE” in WASHINGTON, DC 20.408. Deze data en files blijven beschikbaar voor publieke onderzoeken en analysen.

Sinds het stopzetten van Blue Book is er geen enkel incident gebeurd dat de hervatting van het UFO-onderzoek door de V.S. overheid kan verrechtvaardigen. Sinds het einde van Blue Book is noch de NASA, noch de luchtmacht betrokken in dagdagelijks UFO-onderzoek, noch in het herzien van artikels over UFO’s , noch in het evalueren van schetsen van UFO-type ruimtetuigen of het aanvaarden van verslagen van UFO-waarnemingen of toepassingenvoor het gebruik op gebied van onderzoek naar luchtveschijnselen.

Je dient aan te nemen dat er weinig aanduidingen in de Majestic-Projecten staan van betrokkenheid van de kant van de medewerkers van de NASA in het UFO-onderzoek. Ondanks het feit dat een aantal astronauten vreemde, UFO-achtige verschijnselen tijdens hun ruimtemissies signaleerden, is het niet verwonderlijk dat de NASA dezelfde houding aanneemt als de luchtmacht en die van Project Blue Book. Vragen die je zeker dient te stellen is: ZOU DE USAF OF DE NASA ALLE VERWOORDEN OF GEBORGEN KENNIS – indien ze die bezitten – PUBLIEK BEKEND MAKEN AAN DE GANSE WERELD EN ZO EEN EVENTUELE TECHNOLOGISCHE VOORSPRONG UIT DE HAND GEVEN? Of zouden ze alleen al uit militair standpunt deze kennis voor zichzelf houden in de optiek hun spitstechnologische voorsprong verder uit te bouwen? Ik denk dat iedere persoon met een beetje gezond verstand en logisch denken, snel een antwoord zal vinden op deze vragen. In deze kontekst begrijp je ook vlug alle initiatieven en pogingen van de USAF om het UFO-fenomeen belachelijk te maken en te ontkennen...

4. De luchtmacht, het “General Accounting Office”, MOGUL-ballonnen en Crash- Test DUMMIES.

Op 8 juli 1947 gaf de bevelhebber van luchtmachtbasis van Roswell, New Mexico een perscommuniqué vrij, waarin de berging van een “neergestortte vliegende schotel” aangkondigd werd. Dezelfde avond werd deze aankondiging door Generaal RAMEY van de 8° luchtmachtafdeling in FORT WORTH, TEXAS tegengesproken. De officieren van de luchtmachtbasis, die steun verzorgden aan de “kernbom”-vliegtuigeskadron, zagen eenvoudig een neergestortte weerballon met zijn radar aan voor een vliegende schotel... De pers slikte deze uitleg en het incident werd gedurende 30 jaar vergeten.

In 1978 vond de Amerikaanse UFO-onderzoeker Stanton FRIEDMAN met een beetje geluk een hoofdgetuige, de vroegere majoor Jesse MARCEL terug. Hij stond in voor de veiligheid op de basis. Hij was het die de restanten van het neergestortte “object” op de crashsite borg. Hij verklaarde nogmaals aan de onderzoeker dat de geborgen materialen zeer vreemd waren en op niets bekends leken. Sinds deze verklaring hebben vele onderzoekers hun aandacht op dit incident gericht en een aantal getuigen teruggevonden.

De theorie van de gecrashste UFO kunnen wij baseren op drie sleutelelementen: primo het perscommuniqué van de luchtmachtbasis; secundo getuigenissen over de vreemde materialen, terugevonden op de crashsite en tertio getuigenissen over de ontdekking van het object en lichamen nabij Roswell.

Een vraag die snel bij mij opkomt over dit perscomminiqué is: hoe is het mogelijk dat deze officieren van een elitekorps (= bewakers van de eerste kernbommen!) zo een domme, onhandige fout konden maken? Vanzelfsprekend als wij de luchtmacht geloven, maar het voorval enkel erger te maken door hun dramatische aankondiging, tegenstrijdig met de opgelegde regels van militaire geheimhouding, voor dewelke dit elitekorps specifiek getraind was...

Om de controversie en de geruchten tegen te gaan, die het zogenaamde Roswell-incident omringen, die blijven leven en weigeren uit te doven, publiceerde de luchtmacht in de 1990 ‘ jaren twee onderzoeksrapporten met de betrekking van Juli 1947. De volgende woorden komen uit het perscommuniqué van de luchtmacht over het eerste rapport, gepubliceerd in 1994 als antwoord op een onderzoek, gelanceerd door het GENERAL ACCOUNTING OFFICE – het onderzoeksorgaan van het Congres. Het onderzoek van de G.A.O. kwam als een direct resultaat op vragen, gesteld door de latere Afgevaardigde van NEW MEXICO, Steven SHIFF

Volgens het kolosale, bijna 1000 bladzijde tellend rapport van de luchtmacht, “The ROSWELL REPORT = FACT vs. FICTION in the NEW MEXICO DESERT, 1994” waren de gevonden brokstukken in ROSWELL waarschijnlijk van een spionage MOGUL ballon. Deze ballon hoorde bij een Top Secret leger-luchtmachtinstrument, bedoeld om de militaire van de V.S. te helpen bewijs van nucleaire testen van de Sovjets te ontdekken.. In 1994 verklaarde de luchtmacht dus dat de gevonden brokstukken het resultaat waren van de crash van een “trein” van 20 à 30 weerballonnen, vastgemaakt aan één lijn, met de code naam “MOGUL“ en gelanceerd in WHITE SANDS. Onderzoekers toonden later aan dat deze uitleg niet klopte, want de officieren van Roswell zouden geen moeilijkheid hebben om dergelijke brokstukken en instrumenten, zoals een ballastreservoir, een elektrische batterij, een radiozender of een “sonbuoy”, die sterk op een zuivere, metalen kan, te erkennen. Maar geen enkel van deze hogervermelde instrumenten werd op de crashsite van Roswell teruggevonden...

Maar wat dan te zeggen over de rapporten over Aliën lichamen? In 1997 wijdde de luchtmacht uit over dit aspect van het Roswell-incident in een dokument met als titel “The ROSWELL REPORT: CASE CLOSED!”:

Dit rapport handelt over de resultaten van dit grondig onderzoek en

identificeert de vermoedelijke bronnen van de verklaringen van “aliën

lichamen” in Roswell. Tegenstrijdig met de beweringen, lijken veel van de

verslagen beschrijvingen van ongeklassificeerde en wijdgepubliceerde

wetenschappelijke prestaties van de luchtmacht. Andere beschrijvingen van

de “lichamen” lijken actuele incidenten te zijn tijdens de welke leden van de

luchtmacht gedood werden of gekwetst raakten tijdens hun dienst.

De besluiten zijn: “Activiteiten van de luchtmacht, die over een periode van vele jaren plaatsvonden, werden bevestigd en nu voorgesteld gebeurd te zijn tijdens de twee à drie dagen in juli 1947. De waargenomen “Aliëns” in de woestijn van New Mexico waren actueel antropromorfistische (= op mensen lijkende of menselijke eigenschappen toegeschreven) houten testdummies (= poppen), die door de V.S. luchtmacht omhoog gebracht werden in grote hoogte bereik ballons voor wetenschappelijke onderzoek. Doel van dit onderzoek was deze dummies te laten neerstorten zonder het openen van de valscherm en zo het impact nagaan voor gecrashste piloten...

Deze “ongewone” militaire activiteiten in de woestijn van New Mexico waren dus hoge altitude onderzoeksballonnen, gelanceerd endie verborgen operaties inhielden. Rapporten van militaire eenheden, die altijd snel lijken aan te komen bij de crash van een “vliegende schotel” om het object en de “bemanning” terug te vinden en te bergen, waren actueel nauwkeurige beschrijvingen van luchtmachtpersoneel, geëngageerd in de bergingsoperaties van deze antropromorfistische dummie(s)...

Verklaring over de “Aliën lichamen” in het Roswell legerluchtmacht veldhospitaal waren heel waarschijnlijk een combinatie van twee gescheiden incidenten:

1. een KC-97 vliegtuig ongeluk in 1956, waarbij 11 leden van de luchtmacht het leven verloren en;

2. een bemande ballonongeval in 1959, waarbij tweeluchtmachtpiloten gewond raakten.

Dit rapport is gebaseerd op nauwkeurige onderzoek met goede dokumentatie, gesteund door officiële aantekeningen, technische rapporten, op film vastgelegde gebeurtenissen, foto’s en interviews met individuen, betrokken bij deze gebeurtenissen.

Ondanks de poging van de luchtmacht om de controversie rond het Roswell-incident en de gebeurtenissen in diskrediet te brengen en het zich toeëigenen van de bevindingen van de G.A.O. (= Genaral Accounting Office) mislukten. Hun standpunt dat de getuigen verschillenden incidenten, zoals het neerstorten van de MOGUL-ballon, het neerstorten van een vliegtuig, het neerstorten en bergen van dummies wordt niet door iedereen zomaar kritiekloos aanvaard. De luchtmacht trekt op dergelijke wijze de geloofwaardigheid van alle betrokken getuigen van het Roswell-incident in twijfel, door te verklaren dat de getuigen herinneringen van verschillende gebeurtenissen door elkaar haalden en samenvoegden tot één verhaal... De Amerikaanse onderzoeker Walter HAUT legt dit spitsvondig uit “ Je moet echt een dummie zijn om geen dummie te erkennen!”

Het is zinvol een aantal sleutelfactoren op te tekenen.Vooreerst bezitten de bewuste MOGUL-ballonnen geen ongewone karakteristieken, zoals deze beschreven door de verschillende getuigen van de gebeurtenis van Roswell. Ten tweede leidde het crash-dimmie-experiment in de woestijn van New Mexico volgens de luchtmacht tot de mythe over geborgen “aliën lichamen”. Maar deze testen werden voor de 1950’ jaren niet uitgevoerd! Ten derde, tijdens de loop van het onderzoek leerde de G.A.O. dat alle administratieve nota’s (aantekeningen) van het Roswell legervliegveld van maart 1945 tot december 1949 en alle uitgaande boodschappen van de basis van oktober 1946 tot december 1949 op een onverklaarbare wijze vernietigd waren. Héél toevallig, vind je niet...

Het Roswell raadsel gaat nog steed verder, ondanks de beste inspanningen van de luchtmacht om deze zaak te laten rusten. Persoonlijk vind ik toch bizar dat de luchtmacht in functie van de vooruitgang van particuliere onderzoekers en het vinden van getuigen hun verklaringen al meerdere malen aanpaste... Het enige positieve aspect van deze laatste rapporten van de luchtmacht is dat ze geen andere méér aanvaardbare verklaringen naar voren brachten, zoals de crash van een geheim testtoestel, of van een raket of van een atoombommenwerper...

De legende gaat verder. In zijn boek “BODY SNATCHERS in de DESERT –The Horrible Truth at the Heart of the Roswell Story” van de Britse Ufoloog Nick REDFERM van 2005, haalt deze schrijver zeer vreemde dingen aan. In het kort, volgens deze schrijver bouwden de Amerikanen een experimenteel toestel, geboren uit de revolutionaire luchtonderzoeken van de HORTEN broeders uit Duisland. Dit toestel deed zijn testvluchten vanuit WHITE SANDS, NEW MEXICO. Volgens Redferm bevonden zich aan boord van dit toestel een aantal fysisch gehandicapte personen, bevrijd uit de Japanse labo’s van Eenheid 731 en gebruik werden voor een geheim en verwarrend experiment. Doel was om te proberen beter de gevolgen te begrijpen van een met kernenergie aangedreven vlucht op de bemanning... Dit experiment eindigde tijdens een eerste vlucht met een crash in White Sands en een aantal bemanningsleden kwamen om. Begin 1947 volgde een tweede vlucht met een soortgelijk toestel vanaf White Sands. Nu was het toestel ook vastgemaakt aan een hoge altitude ballon, gebaseerd op de FUGO-ballons , ontwikkeld door de Japanners tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Nu werd het toestel bestuurd door een aantal Japanse medewerkers, specifiek getraind voor deze opdracht, maar het toestel crashste nabij de Foster Ranch, Roswell, nadat het in een zware storm terecht was gekomen en geraakt door de bliksem...

Het materiaal van het experimenteel toestel, de materialen van de ballon en de lichamen van de bemanningsleden werden op een ultrageheime wijze geborgen en achter een rookgordijn van een gecrashste vliegende schotel verborgen. Volgens Redferm zijn het deze incidenten die later zouden leiden naar de legende van het Roswell incident... Hij heeft zijn boek over Roswell kunnen schrijven, dank zij de informatie die hij ontving van 1996 tot 2003 via insiders, die vanzelfsprekend anoniem willen blijven.

Dit scenario van Redferm lijkt nog bizarder en gruwelijke dan al de voorgaande verhalen... Het laatste woord is hierover zeker nog niet gevallen. Zoals jezelf kan lezen en besluiten, is dit misschien de zoveelste poging van de luchtmacht om door het geven van disinformatie zo de ware achtergrond achter het ROSWELL-incident verder in discrediet te brengen en te ridiculiseren...

Former Intelligence Officer Speaks Out About UFOs - George Knapp Interviews - September 2, 2011

"LAS VEGAS -- It's been more than 20 years since a Las Vegan made a splash in the strange world of UFO's. Back in the late 80's, a man named Bob Lazar told wild stories about weird craft being tested at Area 51, and his story is still reverberating around the world.

Now, another local man has caused a furor among those who follow the UFO subject. He's a former Army intelligence officer, well known to 8 News NOW viewers, who used his contacts in government to track down saucer rumors.

"They are very real phenomena. I think we need to understand this will lead to a different understanding of how the universe is built," said Dr. John Alexander.

Dr. Alexander is skeptical by nature, but not about UFO's. After many years of stalking the topic through the corridors of power in Washington and the far-flung nooks and crannies of the military industrial complex, the former military intelligence officer is convinced that some of the objects seen in the skies are alien in origin and deserve to be studied.

"UFO's are real and I'm talking about physical reality. There are craft that are seen, balls of light flitting around, to craft -- some of them a mile and a half across. They show up on radar and are really here," he said.

But despite his acceptance of the basic UFO story, Alexander is viewed with suspicion and scorn by the pro-UFO crowd, "a real life man in black" someone called him. His frequent trips to UFO conferences are often met with overt hostility and tough questions.

"The true believers are even more hostile than the skeptics. If you don't believe their particular brand, whatever that is, you become the enemy. You've got to buy every bit of it otherwise you are part of the cover up, and blah, blah, blah," he said.

Alexander's blasphemy is that he doubts there is an active cover up by the government. In his new book, UFO's: Myths, Conspiracies and Realities, he describes his lengthy search for the keepers of the secrets.

While still on active duty with the Army, Colonel Alexander got the green light to create the military's only UFO working group, tasked with finding where the reports all go and who might be holding material from crashed saucers. He met with the CIA, DIA, NSA, Pentagon, as well as civilian heavyweights like Edward Teller, father of the hydrogen bomb, and Ben Rich of Lockheed's Skunkwords.

"Our supposition was there's got to be a back program someplace, someone minding the store, and over time, a series of meetings, everyone was interested but no one said they were doing it. It was always someone else," said Alexander. "I talked to the head or deputy of all the lettered agencies you know, some that you don't, and it was consistent across the board."

Contrary to the government's public position, Alexander says he found broad interest in UFO's within intelligence agencies and the military, including many top officials who have had their own experiences. But if there's a warehouse filled with UFO secrets, he never found it, and his conclusion that there is no active cover up has led to accusations that he is part of the conspiracy.

"My premise is we're not even to the point of asking the right questions. But the UFO community has decided what the answers should be," he said.

To extend his blasphemy even further, Alexander thinks UFO's are not necessarily extraterrestrial. The ultimate truth, he says, could be much more complicated. At a minimum, Alexander argues, people should be allowed to study this without fear of ridicule.

"We need to make it permissible for a look at the very real phenomena, but to do so without risking your career or livelihood. This is a tar baby, if you get associated with it, and I can show you the scars," he said."

ALL sighting reports received by CMS are already filled in by the witness, saving you and your investigators time. Each report is automatically sent to YOU, the State Director and Assistant State Director, for you to assign someone to follow-up and complete the report.

If a UFO sighting comes in over the phone, or by e-mail, and you want to enter it yourself, simply go to CMS at http://mufoncms.com (once logged in) and click on "ADD CASE" in the upper right hand corner of the screen. This gives you a blank sighting reporting form that you can fill out while the witness is on the phone. In a few days it will be the tenth anniversary of September 11, 2001. How well has the US government's official account of the event held up over the decade?

Not very well. The chairman, vice chairman, and senior legal counsel of the 9/11 Commission wrote books partially disassociating themselves from the commission's report. They said that the Bush administration put obstacles in their path, that information was withheld from them, that President Bush agreed to testify only if he was chaperoned by Vice President Cheney and neither were put under oath, that Pentagon and FAA officials lied to the commission and that the commission considered referring the false testimony for investigation for obstruction of justice.

In their book, the chairman and vice chairman, Thomas Kean and Lee Hamilton, wrote that the 9/11 Commission was "set up to fail." Senior counsel John Farmer, Jr., wrote that the US government made "a decision not to tell the truth about what happened," and that the NORAD "tapes told a radically different story from what had been told to us and the public." Kean said, "We to this day don't know why NORAD told us what they told us, it was just so far from the truth."

Most of the questions from the 9/11 families were not answered. Important witnesses were not called. The commission only heard from those who supported the government's account. The commission was a controlled political operation, not an investigation of events and evidence. Its membership consisted of former politicians. No knowledgeable experts were appointed to the commission.

One member of the 9/11 Commission, former Senator Max Cleland, responded to the constraints placed on the commission by the White House: "If this decision stands, I, as a member of the commission, cannot look any American in the eye, especially family members of victims, and say the commission had full access. This investigation is now compromised." Cleland resigned rather than have his integrity compromised.

To be clear, neither Cleland nor members of the commission suggested that 9/11 was an inside job to advance a war agenda. Nevertheless, neither Congress nor the media wondered, at least not out loud, why President Bush was unwilling to appear before the commission under oath or without Cheney; why Pentagon and FAA officials lied to the commission or, if the officials did not lie, why the commission believed they lied, or why the White House resisted for so long any kind of commission being formed, even one under its control.

One would think that if a handful of Arabs managed to outwit not merely the CIA and FBI but all 16 US intelligence agencies, all intelligence agencies of our allies including Mossad, the National Security Council, the State Department, NORAD, airport security four times on one morning, air traffic control, etc., the President, Congress, and the media would be demanding to know how such an improbable event could occur. Instead, the White House put up a wall of resistance to finding out, and Congress and the media showed little interest.

During the decade that has passed, numerous 9/11 Truth organizations have formed. There are Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, Firefighters for 9/11 Truth, Pilots for 9/11 Truth, Scholars for 9/11 Truth, Remember Building 7.org, and a New York group which includes 9/11 families. These groups call for a real investigation.

David Ray Griffen has written 10 carefully researched books documenting problems in the government's account. Scientists have pointed out that the government has no explanation for the molten steel. NIST has been forced to admit that WTC 7 was in free fall for part of its descent, and a scientific team led by a professor of nano-chemistry at the University of Copenhagen has reported finding nano-thermite in the dust from the buildings.

Larry Silverstein, who had the lease on the World Trade Center buildings, said in a PBS broadcast that the decision was made "to pull" Building 7 late in the afternoon of 9/11. Chief fire marshals have said that no forensic investigation was made of the buildings' destruction and that the absence of investigation was a violation of law.

Some efforts have been made to explain away some of the evidence that is contrary to the official account, but most of the contrary evidence is simply ignored. The fact remains that the skepticism of a large number of knowledgeable experts has had no effect on the government's position other than a member of the Obama administration suggesting that the government infiltrate the 9/11 truth organizations in order to discredit them.

The practice has been to brand experts not convinced by the government's case "conspiracy theorists." But of course the government's own theory is a conspiracy theory, an even less likely one once a person realizes its full implication of intelligence and operational failures. The implied failures are extraordinarily large; yet, no one was ever held accountable.

Moreover, what do 1,500 architects and engineers have to gain from being ridiculed as conspiracy theorists? They certainly will never receive another government contract, and many surely lost business as a result of their "anti-American" stance. Their competitors must have made hay out of their "unpatriotic doubts." Indeed, my reward for reporting on how matters stand a decade after the event will be mail telling me that as I hate America so much I should move to Cuba.

Scientists have even less incentive to express any doubts, which probably explains why there are not 1,500 Physicists for 9/11 Truth. Few physicists have careers independent of government grants or contracts. It was a high school physics teacher who forced NIST to abandon its account of Building 7's demise. Physicist Stephen Jones, who first reported finding evidence of explosives, had his tenure bought out by BYU, which no doubt found itself under government pressure.

We can explain away contrary evidence as coincidences and mistakes and conclude that only the government got it all correct, the same government that got everything else wrong.

In fact, the government has not explained anything. The NIST report is merely a simulation of what might have caused the towers to fail if NIST's assumptions programed into the computer model are correct. But NIST supplies no evidence that its assumptions are correct.

Building 7 was not mentioned in the 9/11 Commission Report, and many Americans are still unaware that three buildings came down on 9/11.

Let me be clear about my point. I am not saying that some black op group in the neoconservative Bush administration blew up the buildings in order to advance the neoconservative agenda of war in the Middle East. If there is evidence of a coverup, it could be the government covering up its incompetence and not its complicity in the event. Even if there were definite proof of government complicity, it is uncertain that Americans could accept it. Architects, engineers, and scientists live in a fact-based community, but for most people facts are no match for emotions.

My point is how un-inquisitive the executive branch, including the security agencies, Congress, the media, and much of the population are about the defining event of our time.

There is no doubt that 9/11 is the determinant event. It has led to a decade of ever expanding wars, to the shredding of the Constitution, and to a police state. On August 22 Justin Raimondo reported that he and his website, Antiwar.com, are being monitored by the FBI's Electronic Communication Analysis Unit to determine if Antiwar.com is "a threat to National Security" working "on behalf of a foreign power."

Francis A. Boyle, an internationally known professor and attorney of international law, has reported that when he refused a joint FBI-CIA request to violate the attorney/client privilege and become an informant on his Arab-American clients, he was placed on the US government's terrorist watch list.

Boyle has been critical of the US government's approach to the Muslim world, but Raimondo has never raised, nor permitted any contributor to raise, any suspicion about US government complicity in 9/11. Raimondo merely opposes war, and that is enough for the FBI to conclude that he needs watching as a possible threat to national security.

The US government's account of 9/11 is the foundation of the open-ended wars that are exhausting America's resources and destroying its reputation, and it is the foundation of the domestic police state that ultimately will shut down all opposition to the wars. Americans are bound to the story of the 9/11 Muslim terrorist attack, because it is what justifies the slaughter of civilian populations in several Muslim countries, and it justifies a domestic police state as the only means of securing safety from terrorists, who already have morphed into "domestic extremists" such as environmentalists, animal rights groups, and antiwar activists.

Today Americans are unsafe, not because of terrorists and domestic extremists, but because they have lost their civil liberties and have no protection from unaccountable government power. One would think that how this came about would be worthy of public debate and congressional hearings.

Cold War espionage describes the intelligence gathering activities during the Cold War between NATO and the Warsaw Pact. Because each side was preparing to fight the other, intelligence on the opposing side's intentions, military, and technology was of paramount importance. To gather this information, the two relied on a wide variety of military and civilian agencies. While several such as the CIA and KGB became synonymous with Cold War espionage, many other organizations played key roles in the collection and analysis of a wide host of intelligence disciplines.

During World War II the various allied nations held a tenuous relationship with the Soviet Union, but cooperation persisted due to a common enemy. Never quite trustful of each other, this resulted in espionage of tactics and technology between the Western bloc and Soviet bloc. After World War II ended, the two sides became increasingly confrontational, culminating in the Cold War.

Active Measures (Russian: Активные мероприятия) were a form of political warfare conducted by the Soviet security services (Cheka, OGPU, NKVD, KGB) to influence the course of world events, "in addition to collecting intelligence and producing politically correct assessment of it." Active measures ranged "from media manipulations to special actions involving various degree of violence". They were used both abroad and domestically. They included disinformation, propaganda, counterfeiting official documents, assassinations, and political repression, such as penetration of churches, and persecution of political dissidents.

Active measures included the establishment and support of international front organizations (e.g. the World Peace Council); foreign communist, socialist and opposition parties; wars of national liberation in the Third World; and underground, revolutionary, insurgency, criminal, and terrorist groups. The intelligence agencies of Eastern Bloc and other communist states also contributed in the past to the program, providing operatives and intelligence for assassinations and other types of covert operations.

Retired KGB Maj. Gen. Oleg Kalugin described active measures as "the heart and soul of Soviet intelligence": "Not intelligence collection, but subversion: active measures to weaken the West, to drive wedges in the Western community alliances of all sorts, particularly NATO, to sow discord among allies, to weaken the United States in the eyes of the people of Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, and thus to prepare ground in case the war really occurs."

Active measures was a system of special courses taught in the Andropov Institute of KGB situated at SVR headquarters in Yasenevo, near Moscow. The head of "active measures department" was Yuri Modin, former controller of the Cambridge Five spy ring.

The purpose of these files is to report the UFO eyewitness and photo/video evidence that occurs on a daily basis around the world and in space. These Files assume that extraterrestrial intelligent life not only exists, but my hypothesis is that the over a thousand UFOs reported each month represent technologically advanced spacecraft conducting surveillance of Earth. I personally became interested in UFOs when London Control ordered me to intercept one over England while flying for the US Air Force. Under Project Blue Book, the US Air Force investigated UFOs for more than twenty years; and we continue this research. Goodnight Irene

Hurricane Irene passed through New Jersey knocking down numerous limbs and thousands of sticks, but no real damage to my home despite eight inches of rain and high winds. Many states reported seeing UFOs indicating our observers had interest in the phenomena. More and stronger hurricanes are likely this year and UFO sightings are likely to continue to rise. The History and Discovery Channels and movies are creating a strong belief in the phenomena. It's time for the government to realize the people are ready to acknowledge the situation. I email these files to over 8,000 people a week. MUFON and National Reporting Center sightings have doubled in the last several years, with both having around 600 sightings a month with a total over a thousand.

Russian Supply Ship Heading for the ISS Explodes

MOSCOW -- An unmanned Russian supply ship bound for the International Space Station failed to reach its planned orbit Wednesday, and pieces of it fell in Siberia amid a thunderous explosion, officials said. A brief statement from Roscosmos, Russia's space agency , did not specify whether the Progress supply ship that was launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan had been lost. But the state news agency RIA Novosti quoted Alexander Borisov, head of a the Choisky region in Russia's Altai province, as saying pieces of the craft fell in his area some 1,500 kilometers (900 miles) northeast of the launch site.

"The explosion was so strong that for 100 kilometers (60 miles) glass almost flew out of the windows," he was quoted as saying. Borisov said there were no immediate reports of casualties. The ITAR-Tass news agency quoted Choisky's Interior Ministry as saying the space ship crashed in a vast Siberian forest.

The ship was carrying more than 2.5 tons of supplies, including oxygen, food and fuel. Since the ending of the U.S. space shuttle program this summer, Russian spaceships are a main supply link to the space station.

NASA is now forced to rely on Russian spacecraft to operate the International Space Station since the shuttle program has been cancelled. A continuing problem with Russia's fleet may force NASA to abandon the station as soon as late November.

There are six astronauts now aboard the ISS with plenty of supplies at the moment. If Russian Soyuz rockets remain grounded beyond mid-November, there may be no way to launch new crews before the current residents are supposed to leave. It is possible military or civilian rockets may be able to accomplish the resupply mission. Thanks to Fox News

Hollywood Has Caught Alien Fever

In the past few months, a slew of big-budget alien movies has hit theaters, from kiddie flicks ("Mars Needs Moms") to comedies ("Paul") to high-octane action films ("Battle: Los Angeles," "Green Lantern" and the just-released "Cowboys & Aliens," among others). And many more such movies are on the way, both this year and next.

This glut of alien sci-fi films comes at a time when scientific discoveries are making the existence of life beyond Earth seem more and more plausible. And that might not be a coincidence, some experts say.

"It's a long-term interest, but the science now is making it that much more realistic," said Emory University physics professor Sidney Perkowitz, author of "Hollywood Science: Movies, Science, and the End of the World" (Columbia University Press, 2007). "I think Hollywood and science will feed into each other on this." Just 20 years ago, scientists had yet to find a single planet beyond our own solar system. Now the count of confirmed extrasolar planets tops 1300, with many more about to be added to the list.

In short, the prospect that life exists beyond Earth -- and perhaps even beyond our solar system -- is becoming more and more likely. This is big news that affects the way many people view our species and its place in the universe. And now more than ever, Hollywood may be tapping into that growing well of interest.

"My suspicion is, even if Hollywood weren't pushing it, people would be interested," Perkowitz told SPACE.com. "I think the straight science turns them on, but there's no doubt that Hollywood knows how to enhance it, and how to use it in really effective ways."

Of course, it's not as if Hollywood has just discovered that aliens can be box-office gold. Alien films have been around -- and have been raking in big bucks -- for decades. "There's money in aliens," said Seth Shostak, senior astronomer at the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) Institute in Mountain View, Calif. -- He does, however, sense an overall increase in alien movies in the last two decades. But this trend may have more to do with geopolitical developments than scientific ones, he said. "I think that they became popular after the collapse, in 1991, of the Soviet Union," Shostak told SPACE.com. "You still needed bad guys in movies, and all of a sudden your favorite bad guys -- who came from behind the Iron Curtain -- they weren't available anymore."

Aliens were a natural choice to wrest this role from the Russians. First of all, aliens won't complain about being caricatured or typecast. "There's no anti-defamation league, if you will, for the aliens," Shostak said. "And they have another advantage: They don't ask for residuals. They're cheap. You have to computer-animate them, that's true, but that's a lot cheaper than hiring a big-time Hollywood star."Thanks to space.com

UFO Sightings in the United States

Arizona Lights

Globe/Miami -- My husband and I were in our backyard spa saw two military jets with white and red lights chasing four very fast, erratic in movement white-yellow lights at 7:35 PM, on August 20, 2011. Within a five minute span we heard several passes of the familiar sound of military jets (I was born in Globe-Miami area and have lived here 47 years). We both talked how unusual it was to hear so many military jet passes. My husband was facing the EAST sky and told me to look. I saw 2 white-yellow circular lights and 2 objects (white with red lights) in the sky. The white-yellow circular lights were faster than the other 2 objects in the sky. It looked like the 2 objects were chasing the circular lights but could not keep up because the circular lights were making erratic moves and were much faster.

One of the circular lights would go right, then make an extreme northern change in direction while the other circular light would go left and disappear and then re-appear. Then a 3rd and 4th circular light would appear. Once in a while they would be headed in the same direction and then split off and circle in other directions while the 2 objects (white with red lights) would try and follow them. At one point, there were 4 white-yellow circular lights and 2 (white objects with red lights). We continued to occasionally here the military jets (white objects with red lights) over the next 10 minutes and then they disappeared. The next hour we continued to watch 1 to 4 white-yellow circular lights dancing in the sky. They made impossible erratic movements. A few times the lights would stay in one place, and then suddenly race across the sky. The lights would sometimes get larger (as big as a star) with the naked eye, and then change directions and get smaller (1/2 the size of a star). The UFO's would occasionally circle instead of making sharp turns. There was a five minute increment that we did not see UFO's, and then they appeared again for another 20 minutes. California Sightings

SAN FRANCISCO BAY -- Thos picture was taken on May 10, 2004 during a charter fishing trip. No one recalls seeing the UFOs but they appear clearly and in an extremely realistic fashion in two photos. One appearing was a tiered shaped craft with distorted "field" around it with another "ball-like" object nearby. Second photograph shows a curved like object that is clearly defined and extremely odd shaped, almost like a boomerang. Another "ball-like" object can be seen above the individuals head. GUALALA -- I was heading north on Highway 1 just after sunset in southern Mendocino County on Monday August 22, 2011 at 8:25 pm. I spotted a contrail way up above the clouds to the right of the sun over the ocean. At first, I thought it was a missile so I pulled over but lost track of the contrail. I scanned the sky again and found two contrails close together. The object rose at a steady rate up into the sky higher and higher until it vanished into the blue sky. The event lasted no more than five minutes and might be a rocket sent into space, but from where would it have been launched? Thanks to MUFON CMS

BRENTWOOD -- Riding bikes through neighborhood down Breakwater Way to Minnesota Avenue/Carmel Parkway intersection at 8:35 - 8:37 pm on August 21, 2011. In glancing up to the North/East, two unusual objects were clearly visible resting in the night sky. Each object was about a half a hand outstretched and a hand apart. The formation on the left had two large white lights - which looked almost like a car headlights to an invisible car.

The object to the right looked something like the Pleiades but upon standing stationary and staring, there were white dots of lights grouped in a boomerang shape. Both objects seemed to have a shape blending with the dark night sky to which the lights were attached. The two-light object on the left had brighter lights than the one on the right. The lights were white or whitish blue. The lights did not blink. The objects made no detectible sound. Both objects appeared to be still but upon closer observation were moving in tandem off to the north/east. While trying to follow the trajectory of the objects on bike and upon crossing the intersection, the objects were suddenly no longer visible. If the objects were aircraft they would have still been quite visible from a farther distance but it appears as though they vanished from the night sky. There was a lot of air traffic during this evening but these objects looked absolutely nothing like air traffic and appeared quite large. No air traffic appeared to be nearby these objects. CAtoyShaped top27Aug11.jpg Dana Ruth, age 57, Genara Krug, age 42 and myself, age 58 were out in my spa enjoying the evening at 8 PM. Genara pointed up and to the saying "Look". I initially observed three objects that were about five miles south of us traveling NNE. After several moments I shook off the amazement and called for my camera and binoculars. I am a multi-engine private pilot with thirty years of experience around most types of aircraft, military and the most qualified observer otherwise. I watched the lead object stop illuminating, while the others were lit up and stretched out in a varied line with no sound. The objects all had the same illuminated sphere shape 50 to 90 feet in diameter with a solid bar of light that resembled a flattened out letter "W". They changed color from bright orange on a couple of them to yellowish on others. During their approach the last three trailing objects swept wide to the west before turning to the east. There were no red, green, white, or strobes for navigational lighting. I took several pictures and two short videos with a Kodak digital camera but the images are poor. The objects speed was very slow and two objects hovered before continuing to the east.

I switched over to a set of Nikon Monarch 10 X 56 6 degree binoculars with lens optimum for low light conditions. I tracked the last three of the objects that stopped. I could see the bottom 4/7ths of a sphere with a slightly conical structure on top. This structure was centered on top and fell short of reaching either edge by 1/5th of the top distance of the shape. They flew east until they became obscured by my neighbor's roof line. Colorado Luminescent Metallic Orb

Colorado Springs -- Paul writes, "I read about the sighting in Mt Evans, CO on August 23^rd and I was on vacation visiting my friend on a 16 mile hike near Pikes Peak. Towards the highest point of our hike, we took a rest, and looked at a luminescent metallic orb/ellipse make hair point turns behind the clouds. What was fascinating was that everything was completely silent. I was transfixed as this thing turned and headed towards Pike's Peak. The fact that there was other activity in the state on that day is fascinating. Respectfully, Paul Gaspari, Ph.D.

Delaware Lights

BETHANY BEACH -- A little after midnight on August 12, 2011, I went out to the beach with a relative to watch the Perseid meteor shower. I looked up and saw a yellowish bright star moving silently over the ocean. A light was darting around within the same general space and then I noticed alternating red, green, and other pale colors attached to a single craft darting around like a hummingbird. My relative saw it too and spotted another one over the water, behaving almost identically.

I silently asked that, if it could hear me, to indicate so by moving up and down. It did as I asked. Then I asked for it to just move down, and it also complied. The third time I asked it to move side to side, and it started to do so before I could even finish the question in my head and my whole skull felt warm. A few minutes later I started asking, "Give me proof that you can hear me?" But it stopped responding. We stayed on the beach for about forty-five minutes, and both craft remained for the entire time.

Florida Lights

I kept seeing a star like entity in the Gulf of Mexico on August 24, 2011, which flashed in the colors of the rainbow. Thanks to MUFON CMS

SARASOTA -- On August 20, 2011 three of my friends and I went for a walk on our college campus down to the bay on the gulf coast about 10 pm, when I saw a bright light from north. I actually jokingly said, "It's a UFO. Once everybody was focusing on the object, we became confused about what it could be. It wasn't too far from us, moving very slowly, and began to make a zigzag pattern over the water, at times heading right towards us. It was definitely less than a mile away, silent flying toward us. There were no other lights on the craft other than the main brightest white one, and the object appeared to be triangular in shape. We were standing next to a copse of trees which separated the campus from a nearby neighborhood and the UFO descended just beyond the trees and landed, very slowly and silently. We didn't go into the trees to investigate because we were unsure of what the object could be. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Illinois Triangle

CHICAGO -- On August 27, 2011, I snapped a photo of the Michigan Avenue Bridge looking north. At the time I didn't notice anything but when I got home and uploaded the photos I noticed something in the sky on the photo. Minnesota Cylinder

Willmar -- My girlfriend and I were loading my vehicle at the Willmar Wal-Mart at 3:30 PM, on Wednesday, August 24, 2011. She spotted the object first and asked me, "What is that? We observed a shiny chrome cigar shaped craft cruising slowly west in a straight line. We could see there were no wings or other structures on the craft. There were two black colored circles on the bottom middle of the craft. I was awestruck at how a craft that big with no wings could cruise that slowly. New York 25 Objects

Canandaigua -- The witness spotted the first object followed by 20 to 25 objects on August 28, 2011. They were not in a distinct formation but slowed, hovered, up, and then moved along fairly quickly in a loose formation flying west. The event lasted about ten minutes. Thanks to MUFON CMS

North Dakota Civil Air Patrol Spots UFO

JAMESTOWN -- The weekly meeting of the local Civil Air Patrol squadron, ND 031, had just ended, and several cadets were being driven home in the squadron van, which was heading west on I-94 just west of Jamestown. The object was seen by 4 of the 5 Civil Air Patrol members in the van just east of exit 248, a bright glowing object with bright "vapor trail". Both the object and the trail were bright blue green in color. The object's apparent size was that of a softball, with an apparent velocity roughly equal to or slightly greater than the vehicle, which was moving at freeway speed (75 mph). The flight path was roughly 10 degrees descending, i.e., not quite horizontal, and appeared parallel with the interstate, east to west. After being observed for 20-30 seconds, the object disappeared with a flash, reportedly making a couple of "popping" sounds which were audible in the vehicle while driving.

The intensity of the light was such that the inside of the van was lit, described as similar to the light of an arc welder. This is not a first-person account; I am compiling this account from the descriptions given by the people in the van. I am the squadron commander, but was not at the meeting; my wife, the deputy commander for cadets, was driving. Based on the descriptions, I asked if this object could have been a meteor, but most felt that it looked more like a man-made object, burning with the color of magnesium on fire. We have speculated on the possibility of a satellite reentry, but the flight angle is not conducive to that conclusion. Also, the trail apparently did not contain debris as would be expected. Fremont -- My girlfriend and I were coming back to town on August 20, 2011, at 10:15 PM, and saw a ball shaped fireball moving in the sky. We pulled into a parking lot and got out and watched as it traveled away, then returned and stopped above us. My girlfriend took this picture before it disappeared shortly after. Oregon Alien Image

Tillamook -- I actually did not see this creature until later when I took the memory stick out of my camera and put it on my computer. An old school chum noticed it on the photo on my Facebook page. It looks like a gargoyle to me. It is facing a fire we had built between our families two trailers and is not the flames. This thing was right next to me, but I did not see it.

When we arrived at the Sand Lake Dunes in Tillamook there was an odd noise that startled everyone that we thought was a cat. It was the weirdest experience as all my family and friends have really been unsettled by this photo. I have photos taken in daylight with nothing there. There is also a blue orb in the photo. This evening my boyfriend did some photo shop playing with the lights of the photo and it appears to be solid as the light reflects off of it. There is some sort of insignia on the metallic part of the garment. It appears to be a genuine otherworldly creature. I thought I should share this October 2010 image. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Tennessee Ball of Fire and Flying Objects

Fairlight -- I would like to report a sighting on August 20, 2011, at 11:25 PM, near Hastings, in clear skies. My wife and I saw what looked like a ball of fire high in the sky which moved faster than a plane and took 30 seconds to go across the sky and out of view. We live in a rural setting with no light pollution and there was no noise. It was too big and far too fast for a Chinese lantern and it wasn't a plane. Thanks to Nick

Knoxville -- About 8:45 PM, on August 27, 2011, I was working on my deck when I saw these objects appear so I got my camera and took these pictures. The silent objects would go straight up, fly north, reverse, travel east and disappear. It could have been man- made, but who knows? What do you think? There were three and less.

Westmoreland -- On August 26, 2011, I was out side with my wife who said, "Look at that nice bright star. I told her, "That wasn't there last night. Looking at the light I noticed that it was moving up and down and grabbed the camera and took pictures. Watching it for two hours the lights suddenly went out. The next night we tried to find it but there was no light in this location. I took a picture in the same location and the object lit up and moved about 8 miles, stopped, and stayed there for about two hours and then disappeared. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Texas Disc Shaped Object

San Antonio -- I'm a police detective and have been an officer for over 17 years so I guess you could consider me a 'trained observer'. I'm also a backyard astronomer and was in the process of setting up my telescope when I happened to notice high in the east sky a disc shaped object moving very slowly north on August 27, 2011. The object brightened significantly brighter than Venus before completely disappearing. When the object dimmed with a lingering fade out, I could clearly see that it had a physical shape of a circle or edge-on disc.

The object was about the apparent size of maybe a small pea held at arm's length. A few seconds later the object repeated the brightening and fading one more time. I called my wife who is also a police detective and she came out and we both saw the object again brighten, dimmer than the first two times I saw it. The object was significantly larger than a visible satellite or even the ISS/shuttle passes. This object was large enough to actually resolve a circular edge-on disc shape and it appeared to be extremely high in altitude. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Virginia Cigar and Disks

Martinsville -- South bound in my 18 wheeler on August 18, 2011, I saw a cigar shaped craft fly over the highway just above tree tops. It was a fast flying 20 feet long and six feet tall disk or cigar. I saw it for a few seconds and quickly it was gone. It flew silently. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Roanoke -- I was stopped at a stoplight at 11PM, on August 11, 2011, when I spotted what at first seemed to be a spider web in my passenger window. All I could see were three reflections of light that were bobbing up and down seemingly connected like a spider web. I swatted at it with my hand but soon realized they were alien ships. They had a disk shape and emanated light from above and below their vessel. Three disk shaped ships were moving in formation, one was white and two were red with a strange aura around them. It was truly a spectacular sight. The whole encounter lasted no more than 30 seconds as the light turned green and the lights left. Wisconsin Bulb Shaped

Lake Superior -- I was fishing on shore behind McDonalds' on August 29, 2011, when I noticed the object over Lake Superior. It was kind of light bulb or saucer shaped, but its profile changed as it sat there and appeared to be spinning? The light bulb was flatter on one side than the other and moved up and down perpendicular to the water, not hovering like a usual saucer. It just sat there for about 18 minutes so I tried taking pictures but it was just too small to see. I looked away for a brief moment, and it was gone. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Worldwide UFO Sightings

Belgium Bright Image

Brussels -- I shot six pictures of a nice sunset with an interval of 45 seconds between pictures during my trip during August. When I looked at them a few days later, I saw this weird spot on the bottom left of one of the pictures. I don't think this is a cloud because of the orientation, shape and it is a little brighter than the rest of the clouds around. I didn't see a plane, birds or any kind of activity in the sky at the moment I was taking the pictures. This weird thing appears only on the third picture. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Canada Bright Light

Ottawa -- We were driving north on the Highway 416 towards Ottawa before the Rideau river. My husband was driving and my son was in the back seat and yelled, "Look at that light! About 500 feet up in the cloudy sky was a very bright light. I realized it was way too low to be a star or plane, and it wasn't moving. It was not on a huge pole, like a light tower. We have gone down that highway many times. Before I could even finish my thoughts, it disappeared right before our eyes. Thanks to UFOINFO.com

Japan Flashing Lights

We were at home on August 24, 2011, and the window was open and I noticed red, blue, green, and white flashing lights hovering at first and then making some small circular movements. I called my family when I first noticed it and we agree it wasn't a plane or helicopter as we see these frequently around here. We had no fear and felt the lights were interesting. Mexico Disc

Tulum -- In going through some photos of my trip to Mexico I saw a couple of strange things in a few of the pictures taken on August 8, 2011 at 12:40 PM. In picture 73, look just left of center. You will have to magnify it quite a bit. Note: Three photos were taken several minutes apart and all three show the same object. New Zealand Orb

When I first noticed it, it was a streak of light above a cloud bank. I yelled out to my partner who took photos of it as it gradually began to resemble star. We took eleven photos as the object seemed to change shape, opacity, orientation and position. In the last photos we took the object was spherical in shape and had a shadow underneath, and had a disturbance around it. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Russia UFOs in River

Viyatka River -- Mike Newark writes, "It twists and turns west of the Ural Mountains where I dowsed any number of submerged alien craft in the river there. The craft were there for up to three days and I lost count of the alien hits. It's very isolated and a wonderful place to hide where people don't often visit and easy to come and go at will for the aliens. The river is cut into the mountains having steep sides where access is not very easy. It's thought the aliens use this river as a sort of car park, to save the journey back and forth to the Mother Ship/Moon. I never saw so many alien hits in one small area as the river is two/three hundred yards wide, but I get a hit every half mile! UK Sightings

Brecons, Wales -- I attach a strange image I took in Wales from August 18 to 25, 2011. We were attending my stepson's wedding and stayed for dog sitting duty while they took a short honeymoon to the Isle of Jersey. While in Wales we took a picnic to the Brecons and spent the whole afternoon there taking photographs of the sky and caught this strange pardon the word "Thingy" in not one but several photos. This almost living "whip" like entity is in pursuit of what looks like a sky squid. I have always wondered about life forms in the upper atmosphere and after seeing this I think there could be some truth to all the theories.

Warwickshire, ENGLAND -- I was sitting in my garden as usual around 10 PM, on August 23, 2011, and taking photographs of cloud formations. I saw a bright white light about 25 feet above a neighbor's house moving slowly towards my garden at 500 feet. I picked up my camera (NOKIA P100) and tried to take photos and video, but the camera isn't brilliant at night. The object slowly and silently flew above my garden rooftop and hovered so I managed to get a few stable photos.

After a while the object disappeared. I had seen a UFO in the late 70's and I have always watched the skies for others since then. The second object appeared roughly the same place as the first around 10:15 PM, on the same night, but at first this one was orange. I took two photos and a video which lasts about 70 seconds. The photos are shaky as is the video, but you can get a rough idea of what the object looks like. To me it seemed as though it was pulsating bright orange and later it seemed to flash from orange to green and orange again. Eventually it got too distant to see it any more. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Cheshire -- Traveling in daylight on A51 towards Chester on August 8, 2011, my partner noticed a very bright ball of white light hovering in the sky. The light was too bright to be a plane. The ball hovered stationary in the sky for 50 seconds and then traveled directly towards Chester at phenomenal speed being lost from sight in a second. I had seen reports the day before of sightings on M11 and I asked him to describe exactly what he saw. The description he gave exactly matched what was filmed yesterday on the M11 He had seen an identical orb.

I watched it yersterday; it's a pity he authors didn't use an excellent sequence where Prof. Meessen explained in a very clear and concise manner what happened in the Eupen area on Nov. 29th 1989 placing emphazis on what was so peculiar regarding the sightings. Considering what's happening now with the Petit-Rechain hoax viewers will certainly conclude that the whole Belgian wave will be reduce to the F16 radar case and a fake photograph. Too bad.

Please your informed opinion in connection with Patrick's admission that he faked his famous Petit-Rechain photograph 21 years ago. Did you have any doubts about its authenticity when Patrick presented it to you?

Doubs... yes, of course. As well as all the specialists we went to see in order to understand what was on the picture. Unfortunatelly it's in French but you can check what was written about this in 1994 ( "Vague d'Ovni sur la Belgique", Vol. II). See some excerpts here annexed.

And when exactly did he contact your organization?

He did not. A TV journalist at RTL came to see us with a print of the photo that was given to her by the professional photographer who purchased the rights from the "witness". That's how SOBEPS discovered the case. At first glance I suspected a fake. But that was not sufficient. We interviewed the supposed witness and his girlfriend on August 3, 1990, on location. As it was hard to prouve the fake we decided to consult several experts in digital analysis. Their conclusions (published in our books) was that they did not succeed to prove the fake, which did not mean there was no fake at all.

Did that happen well after the rash of credible sighting reports of triangular-shaped objects?

The so-called Belgian UFO wave officially started on November 29, 1989 while the Petit-Rechain case occured some months after, allegedly early April 1990.

Has Major-General Wilfried De Brouwer already reacted?

Sure. We are in close contact with him.

If so, how did he respond?

We share the very same opinion. If the story told by the author of the photo is true, then it's case-closed.

But this picture is only one element of a huge file and does not, in any case, challenge countless sightings reported between 1989 and 1991, particularely the 150 sightings recorded on November 29, 1990, still unexplained at the present day.

The Susskind Syndrome: Susskind and everyone else would acknowledge that, if aliens were visiting Earth, and the government was covering it up, it would be a big and important story. But because he and other bright but clueless intellectuals such as Dr. Carl Sagan and Dr. Isaac Asimov take great pride in knowing about the important stories, and haven't known anything about flying saucers, then they must not be real. Anyone who thinks they are must not be very bright, and doesn't understand that such secrets couldn't possibly be kept from such smart people as Susskind, et al.
