Nearly a year ago, Denise Stoner and I met to discuss the commonalities that alien abduction experiencers share. As longtime abduction investigators/researchers, we were aware of certain repeating patterns of information and characteristics. The pertinent literature, the academic social science studies and the works of David Jacobs, PhD, Thomas Bullard, PhD, Yvonne Smith, and the late Budd Hopkins, John Mack, MD, and others had identified several commonalities among abduction experiencers. But we had not been able to locate an academic study that was specific to our particular interests.
I earned a B.A. degree in social work from the University of New Hampshire in 1971, and participated in graduate studies in education at the University of Cincinnati and U.N.H., while working as a teacher and education services coordinator. I left my job in 1990 to pursue a career as a UFO investigator, researcher and writer. As the niece of Betty and Barney Hill and witness to the primary evidence and aftermath of their alien abduction in 1961, I had been aware of the UFO phenomenon for more than fifty years. My book (with nuclear physicist/scientific ufologist Stanton T. Friedman), Captured! The Betty and Barney Hill UFO Experience was published in 2007 and our second book Science Was Wrong was published in 2010. I had surveyed the psychological studies on self identified abduction experiencers for a chapter on alien abduction in SWW and a research paper I prepared for the MUFON 2010 International UFO Symposium Proceedings. In addition to my independent research, I am also Florida MUFON’s Director of Abduction Studies and the National Director of the Abduction Research Team. <?
Denise has an educational background in business and psychology, and is a certified hypnotist specializing in regressive hypnosis. For 12 years Denise did background investigations for the military on recruits seeking highly classified clearances for work on nuclear submarines. Prior to retirement, Denise moved to a military research facility where she was the training coordinator for several hundred military and civilian employees. For the past several years, Denise has expanded her work with UFO research and investigation. She is an independent abduction researcher and hosts a study group for abduction experiencers and public interest meetings on the UFO phenomenon in general. She is Florida MUFON’s Asst. Director of Abduction Studies and the former Chief Investigator for the state.
At our study’s inception our stated goals were to benefit abduction experiencers by identifying specific traits that they have in common with other experiencers, and to expand the UFO research community’s knowledge of alien abduction phenomena. The most efficient scientific method for obtaining this information, in our opinion, was through the use of simple straightforward questionnaires, designed to identify commonalities among the UFO abduction experiencers. Each of us brought to the table knowledge of several unique, unpublicized characteristics of the alien abduction experience. The commonalities study would ascertain how widespread these commonalities are across the abduction experiencer population.
We developed three questionnaires: The “UFO Abduction Experiencer Questionnaire” listed 45 multiple choice questions pertaining to experiencer’s demographics, abduction memories, emotional responses, physiological responses, and psychic phenomena. The second questionnaire, the “Abduction Experiencer E.T. Technology Questionnaire” would increase our knowledge of E.T. technology. The third, “Commonalities among Non-Abductees Questionnaire”, queried individuals, who denied having been abducted by aliens. It was developed after the first two questionnaires had been available for several months, and a commonalities trend had emerged. The 16 multiple choice questions would determine whether or not some of the commonalities among abduction experiencers are common across the general population. <?
We established a minimum sample size of 50 completed questionnaires for abduction experiencers (AE) and 25 for non-abduction experiencers (NAE). There were 54 participants in the “UFO Abduction Experiencer Questionnaire”, but 4 questionnaires could not be tallied because they were too incomplete. The “Abduction Experiencer E.T. Technology Questionnaire” study is not yet complete, as there have been only 24 responses to date. This can be attributed to the fact that a much smaller percentage of experiencers have clear recall of the craft’s interior and the technology observed. This part of the study is ongoing.
Participants for our study were solicited via the MUFON UFO Journal and several alien abduction and UFO oriented websites. We also appeared on several radio shows and invited listeners to participate. Last, there were questionnaires at my vendor table at several UFO conferences and at Denise’s meetings. I posted the questionnaires, a letter of explanation, and an informed consent notice on my website at www.kathleen-marden.com . We communicated to participants that all questionnaires would be kept in a locked and secure location and destroyed at the end of the study. All personal identifying information that was volunteered would remain confidential. As a cautionary measure, we advised all potential participants that they should only complete the questionnaire if they could do so without feeling uncomfortable.
Demographics
Nearly twice as many women (32), as men (18) completed the “Abduction Experiencer Questionnaire”. Does this indicate that abduction is far more prevalent among women? Not necessarily so. Statistical evidence indicates that men are less likely than women to answer surveys of any kind. But this trend was not supported when we tallied the results of the “Commonalities among Non-Abductees Questionnaire”. The majority of respondents were men (15) as opposed to women (9). If trends in human behavior have not skewed the results, it suggests that more women than men have been abducted by aliens. This finding has been widely reported by other researchers.
We were interested in identifying possible trends among age groups, partly due to the fact that a significant number of abduction experiencers in the 50+ age group had reported their experiences to us within recent months. Our intuition was correct. 44% of the AE Group participants were born in the 1950’s, although only 20% of the NAE Group was in the same age group. This figure drops dramatically for those born in the 1940’s (18%) and the 1960’s (26%).
Could these statistics indicate that the human abduction program began slowly, perhaps during the 1950’s and 60’s, and was in full swing beginning in the 1970’s? Could this signify that the alien abduction program is winding down? Or could it be that younger people are less likely to fill out questionnaires? Only 12% of the AE Group respondents were under age 40. Yet 24% of the NAE Group was under 40.
We asked each group to identify the size of their area of residence. A survey of the relevant literature indicated that more UFOs were sighted in less populated areas than in large cities in the 1960’s and 70’s. Also, the majority of well investigated, famous abduction cases (Villas Boas, Hill, Walton, Buff Ledge, Casey CO., etc.), took place in rural areas. Yet the late Budd Hopkins wrote of alien abduction in New York City. We wanted to test whether or not a trend could be established.
Ø AE Group—Area of Residence: Rural (15), Small Town (13), Suburban (13 ), Urban (9)
Ø NAE Group—Area of Residence: Rural (3), Small Town (5), Suburban (12), Urban (5)
The AE participants’ area of residence was fairly evenly divided among abduction experiencers, with 30% residing in a rural area, 26% in small towns, 26% in suburbs, and 18% in an urban area. 12% of the NAE group resides in a rural area, 20% in a small town, 48% in the suburbs and 20% in an urban area. These statistics indicate that no trend could be established. Slightly more experiencers (12%) are taken from a rural environment than from an urban area. But the difference is not statistically significant.
We wanted to determine if alien abduction is more prevalent one area of the US than another.
Ø AE Group—Time Zone: Eastern (33 ), Central (10 ), Mountain (2 ), Pacific (4 ), Eastern Australia(1)
Ø NAE Group—Time Zone: Eastern (20), Central (4), Mountain (0), Pacific (0), British (1)
66% of the AE group resides in the Eastern Time Zone, 20% Central, 4% Mountain, 8% Pacific, and 2% in foreign countries. These statistics are a bit perplexing. We asked, “Are there more abduction experiencers living in the Eastern US than in all other regions combined? Or did more people in the Eastern US listen to our radio interviews?” The NAE questionnaire answered this question. 80% reside in the Eastern Time Zone, 16% Central, 0% Mountain, 0% Pacific, and 4% in Great Britain. The majority of participants in both groups reside in the Eastern US. Therefore, the AE group presents no valid evidence that more experiencers reside in the Eastern US than elsewhere.
The majority of abduction experiencers believe that they have been taken repeatedly over a number of years or throughout their lifetime. We wanted to determine how frequently contact occurs.
Ø How many times do you think you’ve been taken? 1 time only (2), 2-5 (8), 6-10 (4), More than 10 (25), No certain (8), no answer (3)<?
50% stated that they have been taken more than 10 times. The next largest group was those who could not state a specific number (22%), followed by the 2-5 range (16%). This is a significant finding because the majority of abduction experiencers believe that their alien contact occurs periodically throughout their lifetime. Only two participants stated that they had been taken only one time. This is interesting because their answers on the questionnaire revealed that they had little in common with multiple abduction experiencers. <?
Many experiencers believe that they have been taken since they were small children. We asked for this information. <?
Ø Age when first abduction occurred? Under 5 (18), 5-9 (10), 10-19 (7), Over 20 (7), Not sure (8)
70% of the respondents indicated that they were under age 20 when their first abduction occurred. 36 % were under 5. In another question we asked how frequently their visitations had occurred. 68% stated that their abductions occurred most frequently when they were under age 30. However, a surprising 21% of the over 40 group stated that their contacts are still frequent. A clear pattern of frequency across all age groups could not be established. Only 20% stated that they had been taken more than one time per month. An equal number are not sure how often they’ve been visited by ETs. Others replied from one time per month to 2-3 times per year. <?
Abduction Memories
This section of the questionnaire is divided into four parts with subcategories.
1. Conscious recall
2. Emotional responses
3. Physiological responses
4. Psi phenomena
Conscious recall<?
Ø 88% stated that their abduction memories were consciously recalled; 56% through dreams; 36% through hypnosis; 16% through other means such as flashbacks.
Ø 67% stated that they consciously recalled (not with hypnosis), the observation of an unconventional craft at less than 1000 feet prior to an abduction.
Ø 56% stated that they consciously recalled (not with hypnosis), the observation of non-human entities immediately prior to an abduction while they were outside their home.
Ø 76% indicated that they were not alone when they were taken.
Ø 62% of the witnesses had conscious recall for at least part of the experience.
Ø 43% stated that witnesses reported the observation of a UFO near their house, vehicle, tent, etc. prior to or during their abduction.
Ø 58% stated that they are aware of having been examined on an alien craft.
These highly significant statistics reveal that the majority of the respondents had conscious recall of at least one abduction experience and were not alone when it occurred. More than half remembered observing a craft at less than 1000 feet and non-human entities prior to at least one abduction experience. We are often led by the media sources to believe that the majority of abduction experiencers are procured exclusively from their bedrooms and have no witnesses. The Marden-Stoner study indicates that this perception is false.

John Myrdhin Reynolds translated Tibetan Bon teachings that claim about 18,000 years ago Tonpa Shenrab or (Buddha Shenrab) came from another planet where he resided already as an enlightened being or Buddha. He descended to the earth in order to teach the spiritual path to liberation and enlightenment. Further, our Earth is only one of an infinite number of planets inhabited by intelligent life forms with civilizations in the universe. The 14th Dalai Lama has said, "Bon is Tibet's oldest spiritual tradition and, as the indigenous source of Tibetan culture, played a significant role in shaping Tibet's unique identity.

That puzzle finally pushed astronomers to act in a big way, and in 2009, NASA launched the Kepler Space Telescope to look for exoplanets and in three years the spacecraft has identified 77 previously unknown worlds and 2,321 candidates still to be confirmed. But searching for exoplanets is not easy. Theyre almost always too small and too remote to detect visually. Instead, astronomers must infer their presence either by measuring the wobble in distant stars — a sign that something massive is orbiting them — or, as Kepler does, by looking at the slight dimming in light as a planet passes in front of a stars facing side.
A bunch of volcano-like jets are sending fantastically high geysers of water vapor up into the sky from Saturns Moon Enceladus, so high that you can see them in this remarkable print by Michael Benson. It turns out this moon, is a snowball containing what may be a sea of liquid water, warmed by the squishes and stretches of Saturn and other moons that pass nearby (plus it may have a hot, rocky core.) All that gravity pushing and pulling on this little ball squeezes the liquid inside so it shoots up through some fissures at the top.
Professor Alex Antonites writes, "Darwin's hypothesis on the origin of life invokes a primeval or primordial soup in water." This idea, and the very concept of evolution from the sea to more complex life, moving from sea inland, is not that of Darwin, but was originally formulated by the Greek philosopher Anaxagoras. Darwin's original contribution is the causal principle of natural selection, the main principle which drives evolution. The Darwinian primeval soup is a biochemical mix which led to biological primitive life. This is the idea of abiogenesis or geogenesis, which is of both biological and philosophical importance: life evolved from non-life, lifeless matter. So it is an evolution from biochemistry to biology. This occurred independently from the rest of the universe.

"Its an unbelievable day," said then NASA administrator Daniel Goldin who privately has admitted there is life out in space that visits us.
On February 2, 1952 radar operators aboard the aircraft carrier Philippine Sea picked up an unidentified high-speed UFO off the east coast of Korea. The object was first detected twenty-five miles away and closed to twenty miles making a wide turn away from the carrier. The Philippine Sea sent a message to the Commander Naval Forces Far East describing two UFO contacts stating: "Measured speed 10 miles per-minute (600 MPH) for first minute, I5 miles per minute (900 MPH) for second minute, 30 miles per minute (1800 MPH) for third minute. They opened as two UFO contacts 5 to 12 miles apart."

Lockport -- Three of us were in front of the St. Dennis Church on October 18, 2012, at 7:28 pm, and we saw a ball of slowly pulsating orange light flying north at the speed of a regular jet. Two seconds later a second orange orb follows the same path. Seconds later, a third light follows, then five seconds later, a fourth orb appears and then a fifth. It triples its speed and shoots across the sky and catches up to the fourth orb. My cell camera picture was of the fourth orb that shows it was made up of four smaller orbs. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Des Moines -- I was driving east on 35/80 near mile marker 133.6 when I saw a dark disc fly in front of me on October 1, 2012.

STATEN ISLAND I took my daughter to the Boardwalk so I can run and push her stroller when I saw a flying object that looked like a Stingray on October 10, 2010. It moved like a stingray, and was the same gray color with a light green and pale pink energy around it. It also appeared distressed and was barely moving and I watched it until it vanished. It didnt fly away fast it just became invisible. Ken Pfeifer MUFON NJ
Myrtle Beach -- On Wednesday October 17, 2012 at 11:51 PM, my wife, son and I witnessed two separate fiery red balls of light pass through the night sky.
FORT BLISS -- I was riding my bike and stopped on October 19, 2012 and noticed two bright objects.
Cross Junction -- I was on my back porch and I looked up and noticed the bright cylinder on October 17, 2012. It had no wings, and was stationary in the sky and then moved only slightly to the north. This object was bright silver and cigar-shaped. The wind was very slightly ruffling the trees, from the NW.

SANDEFJORD I was watching a film on October 5, 2012, and my screen just went off and I got up to get the charger and plugged it in. I went on my phone that was unresponsive and the screen was flashing, I looked up at the window and there was a black helicopter circling around but realized it was a UFO. I managed to get the camera working and took the picture. I felt numb and weak and saw it ascend like it was an elevator shaft going up an invisible tube.

Former Air Force Colonel Charles Halt accused the federal government of having a secret agency that deals with what might be extraterrestrial visitations. "I'm firmly convinced there's an agency, and there is an effort to suppress information" Halt told an audience of 200 people Saturday night at the Smithsonian-affiliated National Atomic Testing Museum.
On May 15, 1952, U.S. Air Force planes chased UFOs over North Korea. The incidents appear to have taken place in the lakes district south of Changsong-ni and north of the Nangnim Mountains. Here are the actual combat reports for both UFO encounters.
A silvery oval-shaped object larger than a MiG jet airplane was seen at the nine o'clock position below the two F-86E jet airplanes at an estimated altitude of from 8,000 to 10,000 feet and about twenty miles (32 kilometers) away. The single-seat airplanes were on a heading of 280 degrees; the object continued on in a straight flight path and disappeared at about the three o'clock position. While flying at an altitude of 30,000 feet and an airspeed of 500 knots, both eye- witnesses saw the object for only 3 to 5 seconds and noted that the object traveled at an estimated 1,200 to 1,500 mph in a 'rolling maneuver' in with visibility of 10 to 12 miles. The second report was at 6:35 p.m. on May 15, 1952:
Vladimir Azhazha, former navy officer and a famous Russian UFO researcher, says the materials are of great value.
"On several occasions the instruments gave reading of material objects moving at incredible speed. Calculations showed speeds of about 230 knots, of 400 kph. Speeding so fast is a challenge even on the surface. But water resistance is much higher. It was like the objects defied the laws of physics. Theres only one explanation: the creatures who built them far surpass us in development," Beketov said.

The sacred prayers also include the twirling of discs that are similar in design and shape to UFOs. Buddha's blue eyes may be a remembrance of the alien visitors. The pyramids have flat tops apparently designed has landing pads. These pyramids several hundred feet high appear to capture strong electrical and magnetic currents and are power plants. Leesburg -- I was passing through a pretty rural area on October 16, 2009, when I caught site of an object speeding across the sky at 2:30 PM. It was a white pod-shaped craft moving northward at a high rate of speed. I rolled down my windows and could hear no sound. It flew smoothly with a direct, silent path across the crisp blue sky before disappearing into some low cloud cover. Today, I found a video on YouTube that looks very much like what I saw that afternoon. It is found under "Crystal clear UFO sighting April 22 2012.
YUCCA -- On October 9, 2012, I observed a bright light from the horizon out of the west at 7:46 PM. It was traveling at a very high rate of speed, and took 8-10 seconds to travel half way across the sky. I could see another object was following in the same path and same speed 12 to 15 degrees behind the first.
BUCKEYE -- I was at my house and I went to take my dogs out on October 12, 2012, when I saw a strange orange orb in the sky to the south of my house. I noticed that it disappeared and after a couple of minutes it reappeared. At first I thought it was a street light then I remembered there was no street light in that location. The orb was directly in between to street lights and higher in the sky than the street lights. I went and got my camera and started recording it. The object would disappear and reappear. This went on for about an hour. I also noticed smaller orange orbs going up to and some would go up to it and then away from it. I wondered what it was doing and if it might come closer to me. After about an hour the orb disappeared and did not reappear. I watched to sky for a while longer to see if it would reappear and it didnt. I watched to sky every time I went out that night to see if it would come back and it didnt. Thanks to MUFON CMS
SebastopoL -- I was in my yard around 11 PM, on October 15, 2012, walking to my front door after arriving home. I noticed it as I walked up the stairs to my house. It was the brightest thing in the sky about triple the size of a star. Ive seen this before in my area 10+ times since March of 2012, but last night was the closest Ive ever seen it.
CASTOR On October 15, 2012, I was outside cleaning out my pickup truck, when a bright blue light caught my eye. I watched as a craft flew NW from over mu house. I ran inside and got my wife, but it was gone. Hours later, I heard a loud boom that shook my house and the news channel reports a boom occurred in a 40 mile radius of my house. NWS reports a debris cloud, and debris plume of mile high around the Dixie Inn Louisiana. I drew this picture of a craft; the glow was almost warm in nature. Thanks to MUFON CMS
Las vegas On October 9, 2012, I felt a burning on my right wrist that felt like I was bitten. I went to the bathroom to check and saw a saucer/bell shaped craft outside at 5:45 am. It had white lights that flashed sequentially at about a 1 1/2 seconds per flash.

-- On September 28, 2012, my fianc and I were driving to McDonalds on Center Hill. Out of the corner of my eye I caught something phenomenal. Three lights were hovering at the bottom of Center Hill in the shape of a triangle. The lights were almost like fireballs hovering low that the lights started going out one by one.
KNAPPA Lately I have seen quite a bit of things in the sky, but On October 8, 2012, at 1:43 AM, I got this picture and wanted to share. I was looking up at the sky and noticed a light moving slightly right and slowly upwards. I got my phone and held it up against the wall so I was completely still. Thanks to William Puckett, Director
Fredericksburg -- While returning from a Fall Festival at Graves Mountain at around 7:30 pm, on October 10, 2012, we noticed several orange/reddish objects hovering, moving slowly, and then disappearing. We were driving on Route 3 through Spotsylvania County and decided to pull over since we never saw anything like it. At first we thought it was meteors, but it could not be since the objects hovered and ascended and then disappeared in the sky. We took some pictures and found similar photos that were taken tonight.
