Pope – Conspiracies, Secrets and Alternate History”
Author, journalist and media personality Nick Pope, the
man who ran the UFO project for the Ministry of Defence in the United Kingdom
from 1991 until 1994, joins Paul Kimball for a wide ranging conversation about
UFOs, conspiracies, and alternate history. The episode begins with Pope’s
thoughts on the recent Citizens Hearing on Disclosure, where
he was a speaker, as well as the subjects of “disclosure” in
general and the nature of government secrecy,
including so-called UFO “whistleblowers”. From there the discussion
transitions into a back and forth on modern conspiracy theories, particularly
those surrounding 9 / 11. Kimball and Pope explain why people believe in
conspiracies, and how they can represent a “canary in the coal mine” in terms of
the rise of extremist movements. They then address the often overlooked issue of
anti-Semitism in ufology and conspiracy subcultures, which both see as a serious
concern. Kimball and Pope then have some fun as they delve into the subject of
alternate history, and speculate what the world would have been like if Adolf
Hitler had been killed during the Beer Hall Putsch in 1923. Finally, things come
full circle as Pope provides an update on his forthcoming book about the
1980
Rendlesham Forest UFO incident, which he co-authored with
controversial Rendlesham witnesses John
Burroughs and James
Penniston.

Empirical, replicable research published by ICAR, the International Community for Alien Research, confirms that a hyperdimensional civilization consisting of amphibian reptilian hybrids and Gray cybernetic clones, have reportedly abducted approximately 1 billion out of the current estimated human population of 6,783,421,727 as of May 31, 2009 or approximately 14.7 percent of the present world population. These 1 billion human abductees, according to the replicable empirical research, – have had their consciousness and and/or their physical bodies taken by a quantum, hyperdimensional process, and returned to their original location (and in some cases original time) with erased memories of the abduction. Memories of the hyperdimensional abduction retrieved through hypnotic regression and similar techniques reveal consistent patterns during the abductions, related to a covert agenda toward the human species by this hyperdimensional species. One earlier study in the 2002 Roper Poll concluded that 2% of the U.S. population (now estimated at 306,587,601 on June 4, 2009) - had been abducted, or approximately 6.1 million persons by current figures.

Cognitive dissonance or “the state of having inconsistent thoughts, beliefs or attitudes, especially as to behavioral decisions and attitude change” is one way of describing categories of responses to knowledge about and research into hyperdimensional abductions of up to 14 percent of our fellow humans. As the abduction research data conflicts with the conventional paradigm of human reality, it is filtered out and denied, even by major researchers in the field of extraterrestrial studies. One of these publicly and without basis contends that all reported cases of alien abductions are in fact MILAB – psyops abductions done by human military-intelligence agencies in order to create false terror about hyperdimensional extraterrestrial civilizations which are uniformly beneficent to humanity.
Canon: Alien abduction does not exist except in the mind of the abductee
The canon of conventional academic science is that alien abductions are a psychodynamic artifact. One source states: “The abduction phenomenon has garnered substantial attention from mainstream scientists and mental health professionals, who overwhelmingly doubt that the phenomenon occurs literally as reported and who have proposed a variety of alternate explanations, including ‘[d]eception, suggestibility (fantasy-proneness, hypnotizability, false-memory syndrome), personality, sleep phenomena, psychopathology, psychodynamics [and] environmental factors.’”
MILABs: Alien abductions are exclusively black budget para-military operations
Within the exopolitical research community, a high-level Washington DC source reported to me that one major extraterrestrial researcher and author reportedly spent his time with her attacking this reporter for publishing views such as those stated in the ICAR research. Alien abductions, he simplistically stated, are exclusively carried out by black budget para-military units for purposes of brainwashing targeted humans, and creating negative propaganda against all aliens, which are uniformly upper-dimensional and ethical. Yet this view is contradicted by replicable empirical studies carried out by ICAR according to standard protocols. These studies reveal that while some small percentage of alien abduction experiences are so-called “MILAB” or military abductions, the bulk of alien abductions are by a hyperdimensional civilization of amphibian-reptilians and their cybernetic accomplices, the Gray hyperdimensional civilizations.
The real deal: Alien abductions are largely by hyperdimensional aliens says the data.

“It was morning break and they were out in the school yard playing,” says (American film maker Randall) Nickerson. “They saw one main silver craft that had four others around it,” says Nickerson. “It came down on a hill beyond the school yard that was out of bounds. The boundary was the edge of the school yard, then it was bush and the hill.
“They ran to the edge of the school yard to see what this thing was. They saw this small creature walk around on top of the craft while another came down to check out the children. He was all in black, with a very tight suit. The children said he had big eyes ‘like rugby balls’.
“The children had direct eye contact with this creature. There seems to have been some kind of communication with the children about the state of the world — what we are doing to the planet, the destruction we are causing, although not all the children got this message. Some of the children were traumatised, others were excited. The young children were the most traumatised as they were at the front of the group.
“They all went screaming back to the teachers. The teachers didn’t believe them at first. But then they went home and told their parents who came to the school and wanted to know what had happened.”
Soon afterwards the children were asked to draw pictures of what they had seen. “They did this separately. The drawings were all the same.”
In 1994, Dr John Mack and research associate Dominique Callimanopulos traveled to Zimbabwe to research the sighting, and in 2007, Callimanopulos and Randall Nickerson began production of an edited video program. He is now editing, after returning from a follow-up visit to Africa in 2009, and visits with the now-adult children in 2010.

I’m often asked how I think the discovery of extraterrestrial life might unfold. Questioners usually have two scenarios in mind; firstly, some major and undeniable sighting - perhaps even the archetypal “landing on the White House lawn”. Secondly, a scenario where the President of the United States makes a live TV announcement and confirms the alien presence, perhaps by admitting that the Roswell incident really did involve the crash of an extraterrestrial spacecraft. In either event, this would constitute the “Disclosure” that the UFO community dream of and – in some cases – actively lobby for.
For a number of reasons, while not entirely discounting such possibilities, I doubt that this will be how things actually turn out. Setting aside the potential discovery of microbial life within our own solar system (probably on Mars or Europa), the discovery of extraterrestrial life may come not from ufology, but from ufology’s arch-enemy, the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence – SETI.
SETI is a privately-funded series of efforts involving the use of radio telescopes to search for a signal sent by another civilization. The thinking is that if viable interstellar travel is impossible because of the light-speed barrier, then communicating via radio signals would be the best and most logical way to connect with other civilizations. The sci-fi movie Contact (based on the eponymous novel by astronomer Carl Sagan) is probably the best representation of the SETI program in popular culture.
To say that ufology and SETI don’t get along would be an understatement. Ufologists chide SETI for looking for life ‘out there’, when as they believe, it’s already ‘down here’. This segues into the accusation that SETI (like NASA) are gatekeepers of the cover-up and already have evidence that extraterrestrial life exists, but are withholding it from the public. A more interesting criticism came from the counterculture philosopher Terence McKenna, who once said that “to search expectantly for a radio signal from an extraterrestrial source is probably as culture-bound a presumption as to search the galaxy for a good Italian restaurant”.
As for SETI, its practitioners struggle for acceptance from the scientific ‘establishment’. This being the case, they understandably distance themselves from the UFO community and when questions about UFOs come up (as they often do), SETI scientists are overly-dismissive of the UFO phenomenon. The situation is exacerbated by the fact that SETI spokespeople are often cast as the skeptics in chat shows or documentaries about UFOs, creating an adversarial relationship with ufology.
My own view is that SETI scientists and ufologists are looking for the same thing, but in different places and with different methodologies. Arguably, therefore, there is more that binds them together than sets them apart.
However, the balance of power may be about to change. In 2016, construction will begin on a radio telescope known as the Square Kilometer Array (SKA). Receiving stations will be built in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and other nations in Southern Africa. This is truly a multi-national venture, with many different countries taking part in the project, which has its headquarters at Jodrell Bank Observatory in the UK. The SKA will be 50 times more sensitive than any existing radio telescope and will be able to survey the sky 10,000 times faster than is currently possible. Initial observations will be made in 2019 and the SKA is expected to be fully operational by 2024.
The point about all this, of course, is that if there’s a detectable civilization anywhere in our part of the galaxy, the SKA should be able to find it. To put some flesh on the bones for the more astronomically-minded, one oft-repeated soundbite is that the SKA will be so powerful, it would be able to detect an airport radar at a distance of 50 light years.
Of course, there is some time to go, and a number of problems still to overcome. One big and undecided question is how much telescope time SETI scientists will actually get on the SKA. They are regarded by others in the radio astronomy community as being on the fringes of science and there will be many other competing demands for the SKA, with scientists hoping that it will help probe other mysteries, including the search for the truth about dark matter and dark energy. These mainstream projects are expected to be the priority.
But make no mistake about it: the SKA is the single most likely way in which we’ll discover extraterrestrial civilizations. And at risk of making a controversial prediction, 2024 is when we might find them.
If we do detect a signal from an extraterrestrial civilization, a number of questions arise. Should we reply? Who should reply? And what should we say? I’ll be delving into these issues next month.
