The angelic UFO we have seen several times a year for the last 6 years has returned to the sun again. We have seen this UFO before, which looks like an angel with its wings spread. Often with small circles at its tail area as if they were small ships staying close to it. I counted eight round craft behind its wings, all seem to be equal in size...that means squadron for protection and interception of other more dangerous aliens.
It really makes me wonder if this UFO is heading into our sun, and if so, then is it harvesting some matter or element or is the sun a alien made sun, to create free energy for them?

STRANGE blue lights moving through the night sky have been spotted by residents in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire as some onlookers describe seeing a UFO.

Late last night concerned residents expressed their disbelief on social media as they reported seeing an unusual light that looked “like a pair of eyes”.
James Lidington, who saw the bizarre occurrence from Princes Risborough, told Express.co.uk: “I first notice them at around 11pm, and they lasted around 2 mins before dispersing.
“The lights were very large and shaped like a pair of eyes looking down at you.
“It moved across the sky, we only lost sight of it as it disappeared out of sight.
“It was very strange to see, I’ve never seen anything like it before.”
Sightings of the blue lights were seen across the county and were spotted by multiple people.
The lights were also photographed by residents of Bicester in Oxfordshire.
Mr Lidington continued: “It looked like maybe someone had a bright light on, like a flood light but it got brighter and moved across the sky, right over us before vanishing out of sight.
“You read and hear story about people seeing what they think is aliens.
“This was very like those stories, making it feel like it could be aliens or some night creature watching above us.”
Another onlooker described a “blue sky” on Twitter.
The strange sighting is one of several sightings of off activity in the skies over the past few months.
In November residents in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg were left perplexed as they claimed to have seen an alien spaceship.
An unidentified object was caught on camera in the early hours of Monday morning and fell near the southern outskirts of the city near the local EXPO exhibition centre and Koltsovo airport.
Despite the video evidence of the incident taking place, the Russian Emergency Ministry's branch in the country's Sverdlovsk region has said there were no reports of any such events taking place.
The local airport also failed to see the green light.
A Foetal Contribution: How 'Ata' Brought Academic Injustice to Light
That the foetus belonged to a less powerful country goes to show that respect and dignity in death is institutionalised as the concern of the privileged.
The alien-like features of Ata, a mummy found in the Atacama desert in Chile, prompted many to treat it as evidence of extraterrestrial life.
Almost two decades ago, a tiny six-inch ‘object’ made a public debut. The form of the object in its simultaneous familiarity and lack of it evoked a visceral response from onlookers. For ufologists, this object bore a close resemblance to Steven Spielberg’s E.T. and had to be an alien. For some scientists, the object was subhuman, pending analysis.
The peculiarity and bizarreness, and speculation of alien origins, pulled in a much larger audience than an ordinary curio might have. Thus, the results of a scientific investigation on the object came to be widely reported in newspapers and news portals (including The Wire). The object in question, as it turned out, was a mummified girl foetus who scientists came to name Ata. She would have existed 40 years ago in the Atacama region of Chile.
Ata does not look as one might think she should. With her six-inch frame, elongated cranium, odd-looking bones and mummified body, she looks nothing like a foetus would in a sonogram. And it is her treatment first as the macabre object to be ogled at – and then as an object for scientific exploitation – that has exposed how a privileged group dictates academic and public discourse.
Let’s examine the way Ata’s identification as human came to be reported in the mainstream media and the ways in which underlying tensions relating to power relations in academia were brought to the surface.
The loss of an alien
Most mainstream media publications suggested that the conclusion of the study was that Ata was not alien. Most writeups begin with a tinge of surprise at the negation of the latter as their titles. Some even bemoaned it. One of the most shocking – by NBC News on March 23 – was ‘Weird little Atacama skeleton was just a diseased fetus’.
Several publications carried a similar tone that dehumanised Ata. Their engagement with her brief life did not mention the family that anticipated her arrival and which buried her tiny corpse in white paper with a purple ribbon around it.
Academic reporting bore a more subdued sensationalism, although it did not humanise Ata any more than other reports had. The Stanford Medical Centre, for example, chose to speak of skeletons and specimens and treated Ata as such – rather than as the trafficked dead.
Within academia, scientific analysis came to be questioned as is standard practice. However, the question of ethics created a backlash to the research that questioned the fundamentals of academics. Unlike the mass media and American academics, the Chilean government – along with scientists and archaeologists – had treated Ata as an individual who deserved the same dignity in death as any other.
The impact of privileging
To ensure the dignified treatment of the dead, governments formulate rules and laws. This is particularly necessary when the nature of scientific probing is destructive to the body, as in the case of DNA sampling. By not caring for the source of their data, the scientists are guilty of breaking Chilean law.
Moreover, the lack of a Chilean academic in the research team is a form of academic dominance, whereby the fruits of research are restricted to the country of analysis, with nothing given to the country of origin.
Chilean authorities also asked a larger question: would it be just as easy to study a deformed foetus robbed from a grave if its parents were the wealthy inhabitants of a developed nation? Does Ata’s identity as economically marginalised lend her more easily to institutionalised exhibition and examination? Is it easier for science to believe a Chilean to be less-than-human than an American?
The driving force behind the macabre fascination with Ata is her deformed appearance. In having to reestablish her humanity, both sets of discourse paint dysmorphia and deformity as less-than-human. It is the economically underprivileged who are more prone to risky pregnancies, with children bearing the brunt owing to their hampered access to resources.
Similarly, the drive towards bodily perfection and the ideal body in symmetry is largely pushed for by the economically advantaged. The non-conforming other does not see as many academic resources. So a bioarchaeologist having worked on the remains of more vulnerable people in the past is unlikely to have questioned Ata’s status as a deformed foetus to such a large extent.
The thoughts of academia and the media have not extended to Ata’s family. Of all the people unable to comprehend her unusual appearance, her family would have felt the trauma very differently. With her existence being dated to 40 years ago, Ata is likely to have living family being forced to relive a painful and distressing bereavement. Ata is the commercial dead, a source of money for those who call her an extraterrestrial and even those who study her scientifically. Neither she nor her family are stakeholders in this commercial enterprise.
Ata’s afterlife would indicate that there is very little or no scope for the marginalised to mould debates and discourse in academia and the media. That concern was not directed towards the foetus, and the bereaved mother who bore her is proof that the underprivileged have no voice. That the foetus belonged to a less powerful country goes to show that respect and dignity in death is institutionalised as the concern of the privileged.
The recourse to objectivity and a disregard for ethics strengthens the hegemony of natural sciences over other disciplines. And the reduction of those with genetic anomalies to less-than-human speaks of the low prioritisation of its victims in the larger context.
Ultimately, the principal takeaway from the Ata issue is that power structures in academia and elsewhere do have a very coherent and expansive hold over day-to-day discourse. The only real solution to addressing this skewed scenario lies in ensuring diversity, representation and inclusion in knowledge and discourse production.
In India, the current moves towards the non-implementation of reservations, the denial of scholarships to SC/ST students, the increased privatisation of education and the corresponding withdrawal of funding for students from marginalised groups. The lack of bodies to ensure safe and non-discriminatory workspaces for women and individuals belonging to marginalised groups merely strengthens the hegemony of a few. Without resistance, we will be left all the poorer for it.
While calls for Ata’s immediate reburial have been articulated, she remains either exhibited or stored and deprived of the dignity due her. In her ability to stun, stir powerful debate and raise piercing questions, Ata has seen power. As a foetus from a less developed country, it is fair to say that in most other circumstances, she would not have held sway over contemporary debate the way she does now. That is a part of an injustice that we are miles away from addressing.

An American Airlines pilot that saw a UFO over the Arizona desert has been revealed to be a former B-1 bomber pilot with 20 years of flying experience.
Pilot Blenus Green said that the object was extremely bright and “didn’t look anything like an airplane.”
The description matched the one given by the pilot of another plane that reported the UFO, who also said that the object was extremely bright.
A former B-1 bomber pilot who now works as a commercial aviator for American Airlines has spoken out about his recent UFO encounter over the Arizona desert.
Blenus Green and his co-pilot were flying an American Airlines Airbus A321 over Arizona in February when they were told by Albuquerque-based air traffic controllers that a flight ahead of them had reported a flying object not on radar. The controllers asked him to radio them if he saw anything similar.
Shortly afterwards, Green saw an object, according to recordings of his conversations with the controllers.
“It’s American 1095. Yeah, something just passed over us,” Green said. “I don’t know what it was, but at least two-three thousand feet above us. Yeah, it passed right over the top of us.”
Green was recently interviewed about his experience by a local Texas TV station. “Albuquerque Center asked us if we could look and just be on the lookout and see if we see anything, and I’m like ‘okay,'” Green said.
“So, sure enough, I was looking out the windscreen because I wanted to see if it was there and yeah, I did. I saw it,” Green said.
Green said that the object “was very bright but it wasn’t so bright that you couldn’t look at it,” and that “it didn’t look anything like an airplane.”
He noticed that the object was bright in areas where the sun was not reflecting off the metal. “Normally, if you have an object and the sun is shining this way, the reflection would be on this side, but this was bright all the way around,” he said.
“It was so bright that you really couldn’t make out what shape it was,” Green said.
DEBUNKED: Strange blue glow in night sky was not a UFO

THE mystery of the strange blue glow seen moving through the skies over Oxfordshire on Wednesday night appears to have been solved.
And is seems it was not down to aliens - despite a wave of rumours on social media.
Pictures emerged from across the county of an eerie blue light travelling slowly overhead.
Lots of theories have been put forward, including light pollution and a transporter plane landing at RAF Brize Norton.
However, a video as emerged which appears to show the cause of the blue glow.
This CCTV video, posted on Facebook by Shelley Ifill, captures a train moving at speed at 9.15pm on Wednesday with a blue light shining from the roof towards the sky.
It's not yet known exactly where the video was shot.
The Oxford Mail has contacted rail companies to establish which train was carrying the powerful beam, and why.
But whatever the reason, it now seems certain that despite numerous claims on social media over the last 24 hours, Oxfordshire has not been visited by extraterrestrials - not yet at least.
What is being described as a huge UFO mothership was caught on film in North Carolina, according to the Charlotte Observer. An unnamed camerama caught the object hovering over rural fields close to Columbus, 85 miles west of Charlotte in Polk County, in the night sky.
The black and white video was filmed on April 3 and runs nearly five minutes. The YouTube footage released by The UFO Institute shows a v-shaped craft lit by six hovering lights, accompanied by a humming sound and the voice of the cameraman pondering “what the heck those lights are.”
"Whatever it is, it seems to be dropping," the cameraman says. Conspiracy theorists proffered the idea that the lights belong to a top-secret, experimental anti-gravity military vessel called the TR-3B, which could be based at the Fort Bragg or Pope Air Force bases. The craft has never officially been acknowledged.

The sighting is one of at least 20 sightings recorded in the state in 2018 alone. The National UFO Reporting Center in Davenport, Wash., posted a report of "round orange balls flying over” a Charlotte resident’s “backyard with no sound" toward Charlotte Douglas International Airport on March 18. “From left to right, the sky was full of them. I would say about 15 to 20 orbs,” the man reported. There have also been several recent reports in the Lake Norman area.
North Carolina is one of the top ten states in America for UFO sightings. The National UFO Reporting Center lists 2,822 UFO sightings in North Carolina since the 1940s. California has had 13,199 sightings followed by Florida (6,252) and Washington (5,711). New York reported 4,558. The sightings in the database range from the 1950s to 2015.
In Snow Camp, a woman said she saw UFO circle her house. A father and son in Reidsville reported seeing a UFO lose power. In 1973, a teenager in Burlington reported a very large UFO hovering above the trees.
The first sightings went on record in 1945 in Winston-Salem. The most recent was in January in Greensboro, when commuters reported “lights streaking across the sky zooming down to the Earth" for about 10 minutes around 8:45 p.m. The witnesses "also saw aircraft all over as if they were looking for something."
When mysterious objects were seen in the skies above a school oval and paddock in a small town in south east Melbourne 52 years ago, local authorities reportedly told witnesses to keep quiet.
To this day, residents and interested parties remain baffled by what took place that day, with conspiracy theories pointing to a government cover-up rather than an extra-terrestrial visit.
It was around lunchtime on Wednesday, April 6, 1966, when students and staff from Westall High School and Westall State School, in Clayton South, spilled out onto the local oval for sport.
As the students went about their exercises, hundreds of them claim to have witnessed unexplained objects flying overhead before disappearing into a nearby grassy paddock known as The Grange.
“I think we were all just stunned. They were all hovering,” Phyll Tierney, who was among the students out on the oval that day, told nine.com.au.
Ms Tierney, who was 15 at the time of the sighting, said she remembers seeing three silver disc, dish-like shaped objects with a dome at the top in the sky. She claims none of them made a sound.
“There were two others as well but they were quite a way over the other side of the oval,” she said.

“It was the sort of the thing that you read about but never happened to you.”
If the sightings weren’t enough to spook the students – two were reportedly taken off in an ambulance – they were gathered in the school grounds and told to tell no one of the incident. It was shortly after that the military arrived.
“It was so covered up. We weren’t allowed to talk to the media. They told us all to go to the quadrangle, the headmaster was adamant that we’d seen nothing,” she said.
Shane Ryan, a Canberra researcher and an enthusiast of the Westall incident, backs up Ms Tierney’s claims having spoken with more than 400 people who claim to have witnessed the incident and subsequent stern visits from authorities.
“When they saw these objects they knew straight away that it wasn’t anything ordinary. It was inexplicable to them,” Mr Ryan told nine.com.au.
“They referred it to it at the time as a flying saucer, that is what it looked like to them.”
He was quick to add the description of the object didn’t mean it was extra-terrestrial, though he does believe the incident is a “UFO story”.

“When you talk about UFO stories it is lights in the sky and one or two people seeing something unusual but this was broad daylight, witnessed by hundreds of people and seen to come down or be close to the ground,” he said.
Mr Ryan said witnesses have told him that within 20 to 30 minutes after the sightings “the military and the police were on the scene” as well as two separate fire brigades.
“One of the students was very affected by what she had seen. She was taken away,” he said.
“The civil defence organisation, the precursor to the state emergency service, was set up to help (in the event of a) major disaster or radiation leak. They were responded and came out to the Grange. It was a pretty big thing.”
However, he claims that part of this “enduring mystery” is the lack of evidence that any of the authorities were called to respond to the school oval that day.
“We still can’t find the document trail that links they services out there that day. There’s absolutely nothing,” he said.

“I’ve been in touch with two of the fire fighters there, one from metro fire brigade and… yes it happened they were there … but there’s no documentary evidence.
“We know that the air force was on the ground that day, they were at the school and the science teacher vividly remembers two RAAF come to his home. And yet in the official air force UFO cases that year there was no mention.”
He said he has checked the entire air force list of UFO cases for that year and the preceding and following year and there is no mention of the 1966 incident.
As well as claiming to have witnessed the objects in the sky, Ms Tierney also vividly remembers seeing the scorched earth and three identical circles in the grass at The Grange that same afternoon.
According to Mr Ryan’s research, which was used to make the 2010 documentary film, Westall 66, she is one of 160 people to have witnessed the circles.
“We went over to the Grange as soon as school finished, we climbed through the fence. It was one of our play areas,” she said.

“The grass was normally about two or three foot high in this paddock and when we climbed through the fence there was three flattened spots singed around the edge. The grass was absolutely flattered. There were three swirling disc in the middle.
“It’s what we found and nothing at all could deter us from saying any different.”
Yet, in the 52 years since the incident there appear to be no answer to what happened. While Mr Ryan continues to be contacted by witnesses to this day, he is yet to find an answer to what happened.
“Seems to be that something went wrong that day at Westall that some rule or some protocol or even some law was broken that day,” Mr Ryan said.
“What I mean is that something went wrong, either of in terms of the object was never meant to have been seen, or if it was something truly exotic, not from Australia then what got broken I guess was the fact that nobody was in control that nobody could explain what people saw.
“Maybe the answer is that there is no answer. It’s that not knowing, that has to be kept quiet because for some people that would be concerning.”

Researchers Find 50 New Nazca Lines Which Predate The Nazca Culture
According to reports, up to fifty new Nazca lines have been discovered by experts, and some of them are among the oldest lines ever found, predating the Nazca culture by around one hundred years.
A group of researchers has made a stunning discovery in the Nazca desert in Peru.
With the help of satellite images and drones, archeologists have managed to uncover 50 new Nazca Lines and numerous other mysterious geoglyphs carved into the earth by a mysterious people, thousands of years ago.
Some of the newly found Nazca lines are reminiscent of Pyramids.

Thousands of years ago, for a reason scientists still can’t comprehend, a mysterious civilization drew massive geoglyphs and figures into the Nazca desert in Peru. Thousands of these strange geoglyphs cover the sandy soil of the Nazca province which in addition to the strange sandy is home to various elongated skulls.
The Nazca lines vary in complexity: So far, experts have distinguished hundreds of simple lines and geometric shapes; more than 70 zoomorphic designs of animals, such as birds, fish, llamas, jaguars, and monkeys, or human figures, and other designs including phytomorphic shapes, such as trees and flowers.

And when experts thought they had cataloged and found all the Nazca lines there is, a eureka moment struck them after a survey performed with drones and satellites revealed 50 new Nazca lines in the arid desert landscape.
While most of the Nazca lines were carved by the Nazca people, researchers say that the newly found lines were carved by the cultures predating the Nazca; the Paracasand Toparácultures between 500 B.C. and 200 A.D.
Experts explain that unlike the famous Nazca lines—most of which are best seen from the air—the Paracas glyphs were laid down on hillsides, making them visible to villages below, reports National Geographic.
“Most of these figures are warriors,” says Peruvian archaeologist Luis Jaime Castillo Butters, the new glyphs’ co-discoverer. “These ones could be spotted from a certain distance, so people had seen them, but over time, they were completely erased.”
Scientists explain that centuries before the Nazca people created the world-famous Nazca lines, people in the region were experimenting with making massive geoglyphs.
“This means that it is a tradition of over a thousand years that precedes the famous geoglyphs of the Nasca culture, which opens the door to new hypotheses about its function and meaning,” archaeologist Johny Isla of the Peruvian Ministry of Culture, who is in charge of restoring and protecting the lines, told National Geographic.
Most of these new figures are warriors. The new glyphs are not even registered as part of UNESCO’s world heritage, but fortunately, they are not in danger.
In fact, their discovery will keep them away from urban projects or roads.
According To The Ancient Aztecs, Other Worlds Existed Before This One

There are several versions of this myth since the information is not complete and the order usually changes.
This version is based on the History of Mexicans and their paintings where the order of the suns is the following: the first sun, the second sun, the third sun, the fourth sun and the fifth sun.
The origin of the world we live in today
After the devastations of the four suns, Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca are recognized for the recreation of the earth and sky, not as enemies but as allies.
According to the Aztec myth of creation, Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca create the sky and the earth by dismembering the monster of the earth Tlaltecuhtli—the lord of the earth.
It is said that Tlaltecuhtli was combined with another monster, the great alligator which with its crocodile back shaped the mountains of the world.

One of the versions of this myth tells us that Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca came down from the sky to observe Tlaltecuhtli. In doing so, they saw how Tlaltecuhtli ‘s desire for fresh meat was so great that not only did Tlaltecuhtli have a jaw full of sharp teeth but he also had gnashing dentures on his shoulders and knees.
After seeing this, the gods agreed that the creation could not be completed while the monster was alive.
In order to create the Earth Quetzalcóatl and Tezcatlipoca became giant snakes.

One of them took Tlaltecuhtli’s left hand and right foot, while the other snapped Tlaltecuhtli by his right hand and his left foot and between the two, they dismembered the monster.
The upper part of the monster created the earth while the lower part was the sky.
However, the destruction of Tlaltecuhtli made the other gods angry so they decided that to comfort the earth, all plants that man would need to live would grow from it.
From his hair grew trees, flowers, and herbs and from his skin grass and small flowers; his eyes would be the source of the streams, lagoons, and small caves; its mouth the great rivers and caverns while his nose would be the crest of the mountains and valleys.
The legend says that you could hear the cry of the monster at night, thirsty for blood and for the hearts of the people. His needs are said to be calmed by sacrifices and offerings of flesh and blood that calmed Tlaltecuhtli, and make him benevolent to the people, giving the fruits needed for human life to continue.

The Five Sun’s
1. The First Sun— Tezcatlipoca
Nahui-Ocelotl (Jaguar Sun) – Inhabitants were giants who were devoured by jaguars. The world was destroyed.
Tezcatlipoca was the first sun to illuminate the world. Tezcatlipoca was the sun for 676 years.
For the world to be complete, the great source of energy–the sun–had to be created. The sun is the key to the cycles in the Aztec creation myths. However, the sun is so powerful, that it can’t just be created. According to the Aztecs, the Sun can only come into being after the sacrifice of a god: Tezcatlipoca. However, the mighty God Tezcatlipoca only managed to become half a sun, making this first creation incomplete. During the first age, the gods created giants from ashes, and gave them acorns to eat. When Tezcatlipoca ceased to be the sun, all giants were eaten by jaguars and none remained.
Tezcatlipoca ceased to be sun because Quetzalcoatl knocked him out of the sky.
In anger, Tezcatlipoca sent jaguars to destroy the giants.
This world disappeared by tremors and man was devoured by jaguars.
2. The Second Sun— Ehecatonatiuh
Nahui-Ehécatl (Wind Sun) – Inhabitants were transformed into monkeys. This world was destroyed by hurricanes.
During the second sun, Humans were created as they exist now, normal size. The Gods gave the humans piñon nuts, to eat and mankind existed peacefully. However, the people became corrupt, and of revenge, Tezcatlipoca turned them into monkeys. Furious, because of this. Quetzalcoatl sent a hurricane to blow the monkeys away.
Quetzalcoatl was the sun for 675 years until Tezcatlipoca destroyed it.
3. The Third Sun— Tletonatiuh
Nahui-Quiahuitl (Rain Sun) – Inhabitants were destroyed by a rain of fire. Only birds survived (or inhabitants survived by becoming birds).
Tlaloc was one of the early creations of the gods, the god of rain and water. Tlaloc was the next sun. However, just as with mortals, personal problems became his downfall. Tezcatlipoca was the instigator. During the third Sun, Tezcatlipoca stole Tlaloc’s wife (Xochiquetzal), and Tlaloc was heartbroken. He shone as the sun but refused to send rain, in spite of being the God of rain, and the pleas of the people. Soon after, a terrible drought swept the earth, and finally, in a rage, Tlaloc made it rain, but with fire causing the destruction of the world by burning away everything.
The third sun and lasted 364 years.
4. The Fourth Sun—Atonatiuh
Nahui-Atl (Water Sun) – This world was flooded turning the inhabitants into fish. A couple escaped but were transformed into dogs.
During the Fourth Sun, Tlaloc’s sister–Calchiuhtlicue–was chosen to be the sun. However, filled with jealousy, Tezcatlipoca and Quetzalcoatl knocked down the sun. As Calchiuhtlicue fell, the sky opened up and water flooded the earth causing the destruction of the world.
Chalchiuhtlicue lasted for 312 years giving birth to the fish-men, which at that time ate fivecopi, a seed similar to corn.
5. The Fifth Sun—The Creation of Man
Nahui-Ollin (Earthquake Sun) – We are the inhabitants of this world. This world will be destroyed by earthquakes (or one large earthquake).
The gods decided that since there was a new world, the recreation of man was necessary to populate the Earth.
According to the myth Quetzalcoatl had to go to the underworld to recover the human bones of the last era, that is, the race that was turned into fish by the flood.
The underworld was a dangerous place known as Mictlan, ruled by Mictlantecuhtli, lord of the underworld.
Who Were The Star People Mentioned By Ancient Cultures Around The Globe?
No matter where you look, ancient legends, mythologies and written accounts mention beings that came down from the heavens and came in contact with ancient mankind thousands of years ago.
Referred to as the ‘star people’, these beings are considered by many mainstream authors and ancient astronaut theorists as flesh and blood aliens.
One of the most incredible accounts of star people can be found in Native American history and folklore.
And while stories of intelligent beings visiting Earth from a distant place in the cosmos date back as far as history can look back, spanning across countless cultures and different continents, mainstream scholars pay little to no attention at all, when dealing with such subjects.
History before history mentions beings, not from Earth. Called Star People, Ancestors, Gods, different names describe the same beings that came down from the heavens.
Taking a look at Native American folklore, legends, and myths, we find plenty of information about the so-called Star Beings, who were nothing other than flesh and blood aliens, note ancient astronaut theorists.
Ancient Aliens?
And when it comes to Native American Folklore, and mentions of star beings, Richard Wagamese, one of Canada’s foremost authors and storytellers from the Wabaseemoong First Nation in Northwestern Ontario tells us how:
“My people tell of Star People who came to us many generations ago. The Star people brought spiritual teachings and stories and maps of the cosmos and they offered these freely. They were kind, loving and set a great example. When they left us, my people say there was a loneliness like no other.”
Richard asks a number of interesting questions which we cannot seem to answer.
“If Star People did come to the Ojibway, where did they go? Where did they come from? Who brought teachings to them? What scientific magic did they own that allowed them to make such an incredible journey – and is it possible for us?”
But just as Wagamese, other people who know Native American history and folklore have fascinating things to say when it comes down to ‘star people’.
Stephane Wuttunee, who is a Plains Cree and French-Canadian author and storyteller wrote a very interesting piece for UFO Digest in which he explains his understanding of ‘ET phenomena as a Native person and its global implications’ comes from ‘having been partially raised within the culture itself.’
Wuttunee explains that in his culture, “give far greater attention to the seeking of the spiritual understanding of things rather than going after “the truth” as people from dominant cultures do. This is part of the reason why we tend to stand back and view or listen at first rather than bare in with questions or take the hard, direct approach.” (source)
Through his understanding, Wuttunee explains what he thinks of the Star People saying: “…distant relations and Star People living amongst the stars many times, mainly around campfires and during traditional ceremonies. Far from being anything to be feared, Star People was just another term I grew up around. I remember listening in awe and fascination at the thought of us having relations that lived off and outside our world, and sometimes spoke to them in my silent moments at night. I wanted to know who they were and what they looked like, if they had families like us etc. In all honesty, the only time I was exposed to “aliens” per se was when I would go to the outhouse and read the Weekly World News or National Enquirer. It wasn’t until my later teens that I discovered that people from the dominant cultures were talking about the same “people” as my elders did, though each side’s sense of perception of these people seemed radically different from one another.”
But perhaps what the most interesting part in all of this is, is the fact that as Wuttunee explains, the elders never really managed to discern ‘aliens’ and the spiritual world.
“In fact, at times I heard Aboriginal elders blend the two together and treat them as one, which I have to admit did kind of take me for a spin when I was young. Were our distant relations physical like us? Did they also exist amongst us in spirit? I had many unanswered questions, so I guess from a fairly young age I had some unraveling to do,” explains Wuttunee.
But in addition to Wuttunee and Wagamese, others too have spoken about the star people.

Waar hangt al dat fosfor uit?
Nieuw onderzoek suggereert dat er in de ruimte wel eens sprake kan zijn van een tekort aan fosfor. En dat kan slecht nieuws zijn voor het ontstaan van buitenaards leven. Op onze planeet is fosfor namelijk één van de zes elementen die cruciaal zijn voor leven (zie kader).
ZES ELEMENTEN
Het leven op aarde is gebaseerd op zes belangrijke elementen: koolstof, waterstof, zuurstof, stikstof, zwavel en fosfor. Het menselijk lichaam is voor meer dan 97%(!) uit deze elementen opgebouwd en elk element speelt een belangrijke rol. Zo is zuurstof belangrijk voor onze longen, terwijl fosfor onder meer belangrijk is voor de opbouw van onze botten.
Supernova Onderzoekers vroegen zich af hoeveel fosfor er in de ruimte te vinden is. Om daar een beeld van te krijgen, richtten ze zich op het restant van een geëxplodeerde ster: de Krabnevel. “Fosfor ontstaat tijdens supernova’s: de explosies van zware sterren,” legt onderzoeker Jane Greaves uit. “Maar de hoeveelheden die we tot op heden gezien hebben, komen niet overeen met onze computermodellen.”
Cassiopeia A Eerder werd al in een ander supernovarestant – Cassiopeia A – gezocht naar fosfor. En nu werd dus de Krabnevel onder de loep genomen. Het stelt onderzoekers in staat om de hoeveelheid fosfor in twee supernovarestanten met elkaar te vergelijken. En dat levert verrassende (voorlopige) resultaten op.
Verschillen De delen van de Krabnevel die de onderzoekers tot op heden hebben bestudeerd, blijken namelijk veel minder fosfor te herbergen dan Cassiopeia A. “De twee explosies lijken van elkaar te verschillen, mogelijk doordat Cassiopeia A het resultaat is van een explosie van een zeldzame superzware ster,” legt onderzoeker Phil Cigan uit. “Wij hebben zojuist om meer observatietijd gevraagd om te checken of we geen fosforrijke regio’s in de Krabnevel hebben gemist.”
Tekort? De voorlopige resultaten lijken er in ieder geval op te wijzen dat het materiaal dat supernova’s weg slingeren van ster tot ster qua samenstelling sterk verschilt. Het zou betekenen dat er regio’s in de ruimte zijn waar een tekort aan fosfor is en leven zoals wij dat kennen dus niet of heel lastig kan ontstaan.
Meer onderzoek is hard nodig. De onderzoekers hopen binnenkort dan ook nog andere supernovarestanten te bestuderen en vast te stellen hoeveel fosfor zij bezitten. Dan zal ook moeten blijken of dit element – dat zo belangrijk is voor het leven op aarde – echt zeldzamer is dan gedacht.

Röntgenstraling blijkt grote bedreiging voor veel potentieel leefbare planeten

De straling maakt leven op het land van aardachtige exoplaneten wellicht onmogelijk.
Daarvoor waarschuwen onderzoekers nadat ze rode dwergen – sterren die kleiner en koeler zijn dan de onze en veelvuldig in de Melkweg voorkomen – bestudeerden. Ze presenteerden hun bevindingen gisteren tijdens een bijeenkomst in het kader van de European Week of Astronomy and Space Science in Liverpool.
Exoplaneten De afgelopen jaren hebben astronomen met behulp van krachtige (ruimte)telescopen rond de 4000 planeten ontdekt die rond andere sterren cirkelen. Een aantal van deze planeten is ongeveer net zo groot als de aarde en bevindt zich in de zogenoemde leefbare zone. Dit is een denkbeeldige zone rond een ster waarin de temperatuur hoog genoeg is om te voorkomen dat eventueel water op het oppervlak van planeten in deze zone bevriest, maar ook weer niet zo hoog ligt, dat dat eventuele water verdampt.
Rode dwergen Veel van de tot op heden ontdekte potentieel leefbare planeten cirkelen echter rond rode dwergen. Zoals gezegd zijn deze sterren kleiner en koeler dan onze zon. Het betekent dat de leefbare zone – en dus ook de potentieel leefbare planeten die eromheen cirkelen – zich veel dichter bij deze sterren bevinden dan de aarde bij de zon. En die geringe afstand tussen die rode dwergen en potentieel leefbare planeten is zorgwekkend, als je bedenkt dat rode dwergen flinke hoeveelheden röntgenstraling af kunnen geven en met geladen deeltjes gevulde plasmawolken kunnen genereren. De grote vraag is dan ook of die planeten in de leefbare zone wel echt leefbaar zijn of door de röntgenstraling en plasmawolken gesteriliseerd zijn.
AD Leo Onderzoekers denken daar nu dus iets meer over te kunnen zeggen. Afgelopen maand waren ze er namelijk getuige van hoe de ster AD Leo – op zo’n 16 lichtjaar afstand van de aarde – een gigantische zonnevlam produceerde. Rond Ad Leo cirkelt sowieso een gasreus die zo’n 50 keer dichter bij zijn moederster staat dan de aarde bij de zon. Daarnaast vermoeden onderzoekers dat er op iets grotere afstand – in de leefbare zone – aardachtige planeten te vinden zijn. Natuurlijk zijn de onderzoekers nagegaan wat de zonnevlam met de gasreus van AD Leo heeft gedaan. En voorlopige resultaten wijzen erop dat de gasreus niet werd aangetast én dat de zonnevlam niet vergezeld ging door een plasmawolk. Dat laatste is goed nieuws voor eventuele levensvormen op grotere afstand van AD Leo, omdat plasmawolken in staat zijn om kleinere planeten van hun atmosfeer te ontdoen. Afgaand op wat de onderzoekers op en rond AD Leo hebben zien gebeuren, denken ze dat plasmawolken over het algemeen minder vaak ontstaan op deze kleinere rode dwergen.
“MOGELIJK MAAKT DE RÖNTGENSTRALING LEVEN OP HET LAND ZELFS ONMOGELIJK”
Röntgenstraling Dat klinkt allemaal heel positief. Maar de onderzoekers willen daar nog een belangrijke kanttekening bij plaatsen. Wanneer een ster een zonnevlam produceert, ontstaat onder meer röntgenstraling. En dat is dan weer heel slecht nieuws voor eventueel leven in het AD Leo-systeem. Berekeningen wijzen namelijk uit dat de röntgenstraling dwars door de atmosfeer van een aardachtige planeet zou reizen en dus het oppervlak zou bereiken. Het leven op het land zou daardoor ernstig worden aangetast. Mogelijk maakt de röntgenstraling leven op het land zelfs onmogelijk en kan het leven op dergelijke planeten rond rode dwergsterren alleen in de oceanen stand houden.
“Astronomen wereldwijd spannen zich in om aardachtige werelden te vinden en de oude vraag of we alleen zijn in dit universum te beantwoorden,” stelt onderzoeker Eike Guenther. “Ons onderzoek suggereert dat planeten rond de meest voorkomende kleine sterren door toedoen van sporadische uitbarstingen van röntgenstraling geen geweldige plekken zijn voor leven, of in ieder geval voor leven op het land.” Op basis van vervolgonderzoek hopen Guenther en collega’s nog nauwkeurigere uitspraken te kunnen doen over de frequentie van deze röntgenuitbarstingen en de impact die deze op omringende planeten hebben.
In de toekomst verkennen we Mars mogelijk met robotische bijen

Dat idee wordt momenteel door NASA nader bestudeerd.
Zie je het al voor je? Een enorme zwerm Marsbijen scheert over het oppervlak, terwijl deze informatie verzamelt over de Marsatmosfeer en ondertussen fraaie luchtfoto’s maakt. Hoe tof is dat? Het kan zomaar werkelijkheid worden. De ‘Marsbij’ is namelijk één van de ideeën die momenteel binnen het NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts Program (kortweg NIAC) worden verkend.
Fase I Het idee zit momenteel in de eerste fase van dit programma, wat betekent dat het nog in de kinderschoenen staat. Tijdens deze eerste fase zal onder meer uitgezocht worden hoe zo’n Marsbij er dan uit moet zien en zich voort moet bewegen. Om dat te achterhalen, zal een prototype getest worden in een vacuümkamer met dezelfde luchtdichtheid als de Martiaanse atmosfeer. Als de Marsbij deze fase goed doorkomt, zal een tweede fase volgen waarin onder meer gekeken wordt naar hoe deze het beste kan landen en opstijgen en wat deze allemaal kan onderzoeken.
ROBOTISCHE BIJEN KUNNEN IN THEORIE IN HUN EENTJE OF ALS ONDERDEEL VAN EEN ZWERM EEN GROOT DEEL VAN MARS VAN DICHTBIJ VERKENNEN
Voordelen Dat NASA wel iets ziet in deze robotische bijen is goed te verklaren. Tot op heden moeten we het voor de verkenning van Mars doen met orbiters die in een baan rond Mars cirkelen óf Marsrovers die op Mars zelf rondrijden. Beide typen missies hebben al behoorlijk wat informatie opgeleverd, maar hebben ook hun beperkingen. Zo zijn de orbiters aardig ver van het oppervlak verwijderd en dus niet in staat om de kleinste details aldaar bloot te leggen. De Marsrovers kunnen dat wel, maar zijn vrij log en traag, waardoor ze maar een klein gebied kunnen bestuderen. Robotische bijen kunnen in theorie in hun eentje of als onderdeel van een zwerm een groot deel van Mars van dichtbij verkennen.
Nog meer voordelen Doordat de bijen bovendien klein van stuk zijn, kunnen ze ook vrij gemakkelijk en goedkoop naar Mars worden gelanceerd. En als één zo’n bij de geest geeft, is er geen man overboord; de rest van de zwerm kan de missie gewoon voortzetten.
Op dit moment denken de onderzoekers aan robotische bijen die niet veel groter zijn dan de hommel. Ze zouden uitgerust kunnen worden met tal van sensoren en een communicatiemodule. De door hen verzamelde data zouden ze af kunnen geven bij een basisstation op Mars. Dat kan bijvoorbeeld een Marsrover zijn. Die zet de informatie dan weer door naar de aarde. Tevens kan deze dienst doen als oplaadstation voor de hommeltjes. Of de robotische Marsbijen er ooit komen? Dat zal vervolgonderzoek binnen het NIAC uit moeten wijzen.
A huge UFO-like aircraft jolted school children in Indonesia's West Nusa Tenggara island on Monday when it appeared to descend from the skies all of a sudden. The glowing circular object was filmed by a school teacher, who revealed that the children were screaming hysterically after witnessing the sight which they had only seen only in sci-fi Hollywood movies.
"This happened at about 2.35pm, when suddenly the students who were busy playing in the school yard, spontaneously screamed hysterically seeing unusual sights, I heard the children's voices, then came out to see and immediately recorded the phenomenon using my cell phone. I still don't know what it is. It could be some kind of rainbow. But people were very scared," she said, reports Daily Star.
Interestingly, none of those people who witnessed the incident was able to figure out the exact cause of this weird phenomenon. The teacher assured that it was not the sun obscured by clouds which resulted in this strange sighting as the object was too near and too large.
As the news of the strange phenomenon went viral, conspiracy theorists jumped to the conclusion that the glowing circular object is an alien UFO and claimed that aliens quite often visit earth to monitor the human activities.
Interestingly, Graham Hancock, a popular conspiracy theorist had also shared similar thoughts recently. He revealed that aliens are continuously monitoring us, and they are now planning to disclose their existence soon.
"Sightings all over the world are increasing at a dramatic rate. We are being watched and observed like a large planet-sized scale lab experiment, I am of the opinion that the other races visiting our planet are not hostile. After all, with the technology they must employ to travel vast distances etc, I'm sure they could wipe us out in the blink of an eye," said the conspiracy theorist.
He even posted a video of seven UFOs hovering near International Space Station which later went viral on the Internet.
School students in Indonesia scream hysterically seeing UFO descending from sky

Well-heeled space tourists will have a new orbital destination four years from now, if one company's plans come to fruition.
That startup, called Orion Span, aims to loft its "Aurora Station" in late 2021 and begin accommodating guests in 2022.
"We are launching the first-ever affordable luxury space hotel," said Orion Span founder and CEO Frank Bunger, who unveiled the Aurora Station idea today (April 5) at the Space 2.0 Summit in San Jose, California. [In Pictures: Private Space Stations of the Future]
"Affordable" is a relative term: A 12-day stay aboard Aurora Station will start at $9.5 million. Still, that's quite a bit less than orbital tourists have paid in the past. From 2001 through 2009, seven private citizens took a total of eight trips to the International Space Station (ISS), paying an estimated $20 million to $40 million each time. (These private missions were brokered by the Virginia-based company Space Adventures and employed Russian Soyuz spacecraft and rockets.)
"There's been innovation around the architecture to make it more modular and more simple to use and have more automation, so we don't have to have EVAs [extravehicular activities] or spacewalks," Bunger said of Aurora Station.

"The goal when we started the company was to create that innovation to make simplicity possible, and by making simplicity possible, we drive a tremendous amount of cost out of it," he told Space.com.
Orion Span is building Aurora Station itself, Bunger added. The company — some of whose key engineering players have helped design and operate the ISS — is manufacturing the hotel in Houston and developing the software required to run it in the Bay Area, he said.
Aurora Station will be about the size of a large private jet's cabin. It'll measure 43.5 feet long by 14.1 feet wide (13.3 by 4.3 meters) and feature a pressurized volume of 5,650 cubic feet (160 cubic m), Orion Span representatives said. For comparison, the ISS is 357 feet (109 m) long and has an internal pressurized volume of 32,333 cubic feet (916 cubic m).
Orion Span plans to add onto the original Aurora Station core over time as demand grows.

The private outpost will orbit at an altitude of 200 miles (320 kilometers) — a bit lower than the ISS, which is about 250 miles (400 km) above Earth on average. Right now, it's unclear how Aurora Station and its future occupants will get to orbit; Orion Span has yet to confirm any deals with launch providers, Bunger said.
Aurora Station will accommodate four paying guests and two crewmembers; these latter personnel will likely be former astronauts, Bunger said. Most of the guests will probably be private space tourists, at least initially, but Orion Span will be available to a variety of customers, including government space agencies, he added.
And the space hotel will get bigger over time, if everything goes according to plan. As demand grows, Orion Span will launch additional modules to link up with the original core outpost, Bunger said.
"Our long-term vision is to sell actual space in those new modules," he said. "We're calling that a space condo. So, either for living or subleasing, that's the future vision here — to create a long-term, sustainable human habitation in LEO [low Earth orbit]."
Orion Span isn't alone in seeking to carve out this path. Several other companies, including Axiom Space and Bigelow Aerospace, also aim to launch commercial space stations to Earth orbit in the next few years to meet anticipated demand from space tourists, national governments, researchers and private industry. (Other private players, including Virgin Galactic and Blue Origin, are developing vehicles to take paying customers to and from suborbital space, and are scheduled to begin commercial operations soon.)

Sputnik: What is it about the bee as an insect that would make it a good model for NASA's Mars exploration?
Sethu Vijayakumar: Mars exploration is an interesting topic because you need different kinds of tools depending on what you want to do with it. There is an interesting trade off when you talk about robotics: between power, agility and the capability. These are an example of a system, which are completely agile, very power efficient, but in terms of capabilities, it might be quite limited. The bees will probably be good at sensing, and probably good at covering a few local areas around it before it has to get back to home base. So I think that the bees are a good model for scenarios where you want local exploration and then data being processed at a mother ship.
Sputnik: What other innovations are around and using this 'swarm' technology?
Sethu Vijayakumar: This concept of swarm robotics is not new. People have applied that to various domains. For example at the Edinburgh Center for Robotics, we are now heading a new project that is funded by the UK government that is called ORCA hub, (Offshore Robotic-assisted Certification of Assets).
If you think about an offshore oil rig, and you want to certify if it is working properly, the way to do it is by using a combination of these robotic censors. So things that are top heavy, things that are very small and agile, like mini drones. The whole concept is to try and create an information network that will cover and send back information about the health of the asset. We can also do this underwater.
A project we have been involved in, there is a mother-ship, or floating device on the surface and small AUV's that dive underneath the ocean floor. The devices look at the asset integrity of a structure underwater and then again report back. So the concept of having a mother-ship and then small swarms going out, collecting information and aggregating the information back where the compute power is much more.
This method has been around and it's being deployed in various domains. I think Mars is an interesting domain, it's probably the first time they are planning to put bees up there, but the technique is one that has been applied in other areas before.
Sputnik: Can we see the Robot Bee coming in to land on Earth any time soon?
Sethu Vijayakumar: There are some interesting application domains. Just take an example of a commercial aircraft coming in after a long inter-pacific flight, crossing the Atlantic, and then coming into a hangar.
At the moment what happens is that a person will go around looking for physical damage, looking for cracks and leaks. The future of something like that is certainly automated inspection. For two reasons: Firstly, the economic benefits. Having a multiple swarm of robots doing what is a pre-prescribed pattern of behavior is much more economically viable. Second case is the reliability. Humans can make errors.
There can be fatigue, there can be mistakes, but in robotic systems, if you are to program it, you get back the relevant coverage and information. There are already some scenarios like inspection in constrained environments, where I think bees can be a big factor.
Another domain which can be quite powerful is the area of agriculture. We are seeing more and more food production and security issues being dealt with by using robots, for harvesting and for looking at the health of plants.
Bees are a great way of getting around fields without having to worry about uneven terrain, wheels getting stuck in mud and so on. We are already seeing agri-robotics in terms of food security, but I think flying robot bees would be a great application domain for that.

Online UFO community has come into frenzy anew after an alien life allegedly spotted heading into the atmosphere of the Earth.
Space researcher Graham revealed that extraterrestrials would reveal themselves soon as he discovered proof suggesting that such thing will happen soon.
Speaking on the video clip that allegedly shows seven UFOs, he said that sightings across the globe are increasing significantly. He added that aliens have been watching and observing Earth and human race like a giant planet-sized scale lab experiment. He noted though that the alien visitors are not hostile.
He explained that these space aliens are very advanced considering they managed to travel vast distances and that they could wipe humanity without any problem.
And the fact humans still exist on Earth, these aliens are either here to help or observe, according to Graham. However, Graham cautioned that humans could soon come face-to-face with aliens. He said that world leaders and the ET’s agreed on the timescale for disclosure, which could happen within the next 15 years.
He explained that the disclosure would have a significant impact as a way of life, medicines, and technology can change unity and peace.
He said that calling those aliens as watchers or observers are correct. He further stressed that there might be other hostile races that have been protecting the Earth and its inhabitants, which is very reassuring.
Graham found the proof during a live feed from the ISS on March 31. He then uploaded it to his YouTube channel Conspiracy Depot.
He claimed to have spotted several UFOs between 11.20 and 11.50 pm.
However, many others believe there may be a more reasonable explanation.
The sightings took place at around the same time China’s satellite Tiangong-1 was dropping sharply towards the Earth.

ET hunters and conspiracy theorists now claim that we are not alone in the universe, but that there are aliens who actually live inside the Moon and that they even created our natural satellite.
Poring over photos of the Moon’s surface taken by China’s Chang’e 3 lunar probe, Scottish UFOlogist George Graham discovered what he says looks like a human-built structure and a hidden alien spaceship, the TeCake online technology news blog reported.
Among the many videos referencing aliens, which Graham has posted on YouTube, there are two distinct ones that show anomalies on the lunar surface.
The other video features a flying saucer-like object hidden behind a rock.
It is not the first time that conspiracy theorists have talked about the existence of alien life on the Moon. Previously, they have claimed to spot several suspicious activities, UFOs, and mysterious buildings to support their claim.
Some UFOlogists believe that the Moon is not our satellite but a base created by aliens to keep a constant eye on humans.
According to a NASA study conducted in 1962, the Moon’s inner surface is thinner than its outer one.
Another theory purports that because the Moon is hollow inside, extraterrestrials could be using it as a base from where they watch over what people down on Earth are doing.

Basis
Het is niet voor het eerst dat complottheoretici zich hebben uitgelaten over het bestaan van buitenaards leven op de maan. Eerder claimden ze UFO’s en mysterieuze gebouwen op de maan te hebben ontdekt.
Sommige ufologen menen dat de maan geen natuurlijke satelliet is, maar een basis gebouwd door aliens om de mensen in de gaten te houden.
Hol
Over de maan is nog weinig bekend. Ondanks 109 maanmissies weten we niet zeker of de maan van binnen hard, vloeibaar of een combinatie van beide is.

Experts op het vlak van artificiële intelligentie (AI) boycotten een Zuid-Koreaanse universiteit die volgens hen in samenwerking met een wapenfabrikant een geheim leger van robots aan het ontwikkelen is. Het Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kaist) zou samen met wapenfabrikant Hanwha Systems robots ontwikkelen die, zo menen de academici, de doos van Pandora zouden openzetten en “de derde revolutie in oorlogsvoering” zouden ontketenen.
57 academici uit 30 landen waarschuwen dat de universiteit de technologie op punt stelt om een leger van robots te ontwikkelen dat de hele mensheid kan vernietigen. De specialisten ondertekenden een brief waarin ze stellen de universiteit te boycotten en hun zorg uiten over de plannen.
Doos van Pandora
Ze noemen die “de doos van Pandora” en stellen dat AI en robots niet mogen gebruikt worden als oorlogswapens. Het nieuwe AI-wapenlabo van de Kaist-universiteit werd in februari operationeel. Het werd gebouwd in samenwerking met Hanwha Systems, de belangrijkste wapenfabrikant in Zuid-Korea. “Eens deze doos van Pandora opengaat, zal het moeilijk zijn ze weer te sluiten”, stellen de professoren.
De brief werd opgesteld door professor Toby Walsh van de universiteit van Sydney en is gericht aan professor Shin Sung-chul, voorzitter van de Kaist-universiteit. “Het is betreurenswaardig dat een prestigieus instituut als Kaist de wapenwedloop wil opdrijven”, zo stelt Walsh.
“Daarom verklaren we openlijk dat we elke samenwerking met Kaist zullen boycotten tot de voorzitter van de universiteit garanties voorlegt - die we hebben gevraagd maar niet hebben gekregen - dat het centrum geen autonome wapens zonder betekenisvolle menselijke controle zal ontwikkelen.”
Autonome wapens zullen de derde revolutie in oorlogsvoering inluiden. Ze zullen ervoor zorgen dat oorlogen sneller worden uitgevochten en op een grotere schaal dan ooit tevoren. Ze hebben bovendien het potentieel terreurwapens te worden

De reden voor de boycot en de veroordeling van de universiteit is de bezorgdheid over het potentieel van AI-wapentuig. “Indien ze ontwikkeld worden, zullen autonome wapens de derde revolutie in oorlogsvoering inluiden”, zo staat in de brief. “Ze zullen ervoor zorgen dat oorlogen sneller worden uitgevochten en op een grotere schaal dan ooit tevoren. Ze hebben het potentieel terreurwapens te worden.”
Gisteren reageerde de universiteit bij monde van voorzitter Shin Sung-chul, die stelt dat Kaist geen dergelijke droids ontwikkelt. “We hebben niet de intentie dodelijke autonome wapens of robots te maken. Als academisch instituut voeren we mensenrechten en ethische waarden hoog in het vaandel. Kaist zal geen onderzoeksactiviteiten verrichten die tegen de menselijke waardigheid ingaan.”
Robots aan grens met Noord-Korea
Professor Walsh verklaarde tegenover CNN dat hij “grotendeels tevreden” is met de reactie van Kaist. “Maar ik heb toch nog enkele vragen omtrent hun intenties.” De boycot blijft voorlopig van kracht. Dat betekent dat de academici Kaist niet zullen bezoeken of leden van de universiteit als gast ontvangen. Ze zullen ook geen bijdragen meer leveren aan eender welk onderzoeksproject waarbij Kaist betrokken is.
Volgende week debatteren 123 lidstaten van de Verenigde Naties over autonoom wapentuig. 22 landen eisen een absoluut verbod op dergelijke wapens.
Het Zuid-Koreaanse leger heeft al een team robots aan de grens met Noord-Korea. De Samsung SGR-A1 draagt een machinegeweer met een autonome modus, maar wordt tot nog toe via cameralinks door mensen bediend.
