UFO’s Are Real, And This Recent UFO Incident Above The Skies Of Oregon Confirms It
In October of 2017, a mysterious object overflew the skies above Oregon and quickly turned into a massive UFO hunt.
What started as a radar target moving at very high speed over Northern California turned into a series of eyewitness accounts made by commercial pilots traveling northward over Oregon.
Even F-15 fighters were launched to intercept the mysterious intruder that quickly became invisible to radar, and the F-15’s could catch up with the mystery craft.

An audio recording released this month reveals confusion between pilots, the control tower and radar operators after they detected a mysterious flying object in the skies of the state of Oregon, in the United States, which they failed to identify.
The UFO was spotted on October 25 last year at 4:30 pm (local time) when air traffic controllers noticed the presence of an object flying at high speeds on its radar.
Upon perceiving what they presumed was an unauthorized flight, a radar operator alarmed the authorities of Sector 31 of the Oakland Control Tower.
At that time, the unknown object traveled over Crater Lake to the valley of Willamette and moved “very fast at 37,000 feet.”
“You know that target south of the boundary there that 0027 code moving very fast at 37,000?” asked the Radar Operator.
Oakland Center Controller responded: “Oh, look at that thing, to what the Radar Operator responded, yeah, that’s, uh, crazy.”
Oakland Center Controller asked: “Huh, um… and you don’t have anything on him, huh?”
“I got nothing,” responded the Radar operator.
It was cause for real concern, as the mysterious craft did something extremely dangerous; it suddenly turned into a crowded stream of commercial airliners, where it disappeared from radar, but not from sight. The UFO was not responding to any radio calls and did not have a functioning transponder, reports The War Zone.
Soon after, confused commercial airliner pilots started calling in the reports, saying that they saw a large white aircraft traveling alongside them at a distance.
“Hey, it’s United 612, it’s just a white speck out there, I mean we can see it, but there’s no identification on it, just uh, that it’s there,” reported one of the pilots.
The Air Force was also aware of the mystery encounter and followed to contact closely. The USAF’s Western Air Defense sector jumped into action.
In order to solve the mystery to what Radar and Flight control picked up, US Air Force F15C Eagles, from Portland’s 142nd Fighter Wing were scrambled to intercept the UFO and take a closer look. However, despite the Fighter Jets’ powerful sensors and speed, they could not catch up with the UFO, which eventually disappeared both from radar and sight.
What the mystery craft was, remained a mystery as neither commercial airliner pilots nor Air Force pilots were able to identify it.
What do we know about it? It was big, it was whiteish in color, it flew at approximately 37,000 feet, and it was moving relatively fast, about the same speed as surrounding commercial airliners. The UFO, however, appeared and disappeared from radar, and was not emitting any signals. Furthermore, the UFO always stayed at the edge of the visual range, which made it nearly impossible for pilots to identify it.
The radar and audio recordings released to the public reveal what can easily be said as one of the most mysterious UFO encounters.
Whether the object was a man-made aircraft or visitors from another planet, we don’t know, but anything is possible until it’s proven otherwise.

The study was conducted by Michael Poston, Joshua Bandfield, Rachel Klima and Christopher Edwards.

“By putting some limits on how mobile the water or the OH on the surface is, we can help constrain how much water could reach the cold traps in the polar regions,” said Poston in a NASA press release.
Water was first discovered on the Moon in 2009 by three spacecraft. However, it was believed up until now that the water was trapped in "cold traps" at the Moon's poles. That is no longer the case.
According to NASA, a cold trap is a region that’s "so cold, the water vapor and other volatiles which come into contact with the surface will remain stable for an extended period of time, perhaps up to several billion years."
It's still unclear how accessible the water is, but the study does suggest that it can be found on the lunar surface both during the day and the night.
It's also unclear what its source is, though the team did not rule out that the water may be emanating from the Moon itself, via minerals.

“Some of these scientific problems are very, very difficult, and it’s only by drawing on multiple resources from different missions that are we able to hone in on an answer,” said NASA Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter project scientist John Keller in the release.
The study follows recent reports that suggest there may be an underground network of lava tubes on the Moon which may provide access to subsurface ice, as well as water.

We’ve just found the earliest traces of hydrogen, showing when the first-ever stars ignited
MIT and Arizona State University researchers are hot on the heels of the Universe’s first stars: they’ve traced the faint signals of hydrogen gas energized by stellar radiation just 180 million years after the Big Bang.

Where does everything come from? That’s one of the questions people have been burning to answer since times immemorial. It’s a hugely complicated question, but science can offer some bits and pieces to start cobbling the answer together. A paper published today by MIT and Arizona State University researchers uncovered a fundamental one such piece: the earliest evidence of hydrogen gas and the earliest evidence of stars igniting that we’ve ever seen.
Using a table-sized radio antenna plopped down in a remote part of western Australia, dubbed EDGES (Experiment to Detect Global EoR Signature), the team managed to pick up trace signals generated by hydrogen gas, just 180 million years after the Big Bang. This is the earliest evidence we’ve ever seen for the presence of hydrogen in the early universe — a very important find, considering hydrogen is the simplest, and thus first, atom out there. The team was also able to determine that by this time, the gas bore traces of the first stars in the world.
“This is the first real signal that stars are starting to form, and starting to affect the medium around them,” says study co-author Alan Rogers, a scientist at MIT’s Haystack Observatory.
“What’s happening in this period is that some of the radiation from the very first stars is starting to allow hydrogen to be seen. It’s causing hydrogen to start absorbing the background radiation, so you start seeing it in silhouette, at particular radio frequencies.”
The EDGES instrument was designed to pick up radio signals generated during a time in the universe’s history known as the Epoch of Reionization, or EoR. It’s during this time that we think the first sources of light (such as stars) sprang up in the world, from a sort of cosmic primordial soup made up mostly of hydrogen gas. Not much else was happening before this time, mostly due to a lack of energy to change objects in the universe: hydrogen, for example, was virtually invisible, as its energy state made it indistinguishable from the surrounding cosmic background radiation.

But the birth of these sources of light and energy ionized the hydrogen gas, changing its energy state, and making it release energy as radio waves — and that’s exactly what EDGES was designed to pick up.
However, not all went according to plan. When the team looked at the frequency range the antenna was designed to pick up, between 100 to 200 megahertz, they hardly picked up any signal.
One explanation they came up with is that the theoretical models which we used to calculate what emissions this early hydrogen would give off overestimated the gas’ temperature. So they re-crunched the numbers, this time assuming that the hydrogen and its environment were at about the same, lower temperature. They decided their best bet was to search the 50 to 100 megahertz frequency range, so they returned their antenna and flipped the switch again.
“As soon as we switched our system to this lower range, we started seeing things that we felt might be a real signature,” Rogers says.
The device picked up a flattened absorption profile (i.e. a dip in the radio wave-spectrum) centered around 78 megahertz. Rogers adds that the frequency corresponds to “roughly 180 million years after the Big Bang”, adding that “this has got to be the earliest” detection of a signal from hydrogen we yet have. To put things into perspective, we know that the universe is at least 11 billion years old, and most estimates place its age upwards of 13.5 billion years.
The radio profile matches theoretical predictions of a star-hydrogen interaction. These early stellar bodies poured ultraviolet radiation out into the void, ionizing any surrounding body of hydrogen. As a result, the gas began to absorb background radiation, which changed the spin on its single electron. Ultimately, this change made the atoms emit, rather than absorb, radiation, at a characteristic wavelength of 21 centimeters, or a frequency of 1,420 megahertz — becoming, in effect, ‘visible’ for the first time.
Red-shift affected these waves, so by the time it reached present-day Earth, it was somewhere in the range of 100 megahertz.
But the dip in the radio spectrum was also stronger and deeper than the models predicted — suggesting that the hydrogen was indeed colder than previously assumed. The team estimates that the hydrogen gas and the universe as a whole must have been twice as cold as previously estimated, at about 3 kelvins, or -270.15 degrees Celsius / -454 degrees Fahrenheit.

The research is likely the best window we’ll have into the universe’s early history for a long time to come. It took an incredible scientific effort to obtain these results. It took years of hard work for engineers and scientists to design, re-design, and re-calibrate the EDGES instrument to even have a hope of picking up on these signals. Peter Kurczynski, program director for Advanced Technologies and Instrumentation in the Division of Astronomical Sciences at the National Science Foundation, the organization that built EDGES, compares it to “being in the middle of a hurricane and trying to hear the flap of a hummingbird’s wing.”
“Sources of noise can be a thousand times brighter than the signal they are looking for,” he explains.
It was built in the middle of Australia’s nowhere (which has to be at least nowhere squared) because it was the most remote place they could get to — and that limited interference from man-made radio signals, which would easily overpower any of the signals the antenna was designed to pick up on.
“It is unlikely that we’ll be able to see any earlier into the history of stars in our lifetimes,” lead author Judd Bowman of ASU says. “This project shows that a promising new technique can work and has paved the way for decades of new astrophysical discoveries.”
It’s also the first actual glimpse we get into this period of the universe, a particularly important one — these were, after all, the universe’s early days. The foundation of everything we see today was laid down during that Epoch.

Het zou dus niet beperkt zijn tot een bepaalde regio’s (zoals de polen) of vastzitten in een bepaald terrein (zoals kraters). Robots Will Either Kill, Enslave or Save Humans

That question gets more difficult to answer every day as new announcements are released about robotic achievements and advances in artificial intelligence. Just in the past week we’ve seen a realistic robotic dog that can open a door and fight off a human who tries to stop it, a realistic walking humanoid robot that puts out fires, a call to equip robots with kill switches, a warning that robots will use humans as guinea pigs and a call to be cautious rather than dystopic. Which one is it?
Boston Dynamics, a world leader in robotics, released two videos of one of its latest inventions – a four-legged SpotMini robot dog that can open a door with its ‘mouth’. The popularfirst video shows how cute the robotic pet looks as it grabs the knob without the usual canine slobber, while the second, which is called “Testing Robustness,” shows the pit bull wannabe fighting off a human who tries to stop it. Here’s a telling statement from the second video’s commentary:
“The ability to tolerate and respond automatically to disturbances like these improves successful operation of the robot. (Note: This testing does not irritate or harm the robot.)”
What about irritating or harming humans?

Next, the Italian Institute of Technology’s (IIT) released a video of its WALK-MAN humanoid robot performing a simulated disaster rescue operation during an industrial plant disaster where it walks into a room, turns off a leaking gas valve, clears out debris and operates a fire extinguisher. While not fully autonomous (yet), all it will take is for one WALK-MAN to rescue a baby in a fire to move humans to embrace it like the Sony Walkman of the 80s and 90s (which ultimately took control of how humans listen to music … coincidence?).
Do we need to put a ‘kill switch’ or ‘kill chip’ in the brains of robots to stop them before their AI turns on their human overlords (if they even exist anymore) and kills their makers? Futurist Dr. Michio Kaku said in a Reddit Q/A session that he thinks it’s imperative to do this … and here’s why.
“I think we should chip their brain to shut them off if they have murderous thoughts.”
Murderous thoughts in robots! The plot of many sci-fi movies, which Dr. Kaku doesn’t see happening until 2100. But what about in the meantime? Fellow futurologist Dr. Ian Pearson has his own dystopian view of the future. He told The Sun he believes robots will act like rogue states and, as they gain more intelligence than humans, turn us into their own enslaved guinea pigs.
“We’ll have trained it to be like us, trained it to feel emotions like us, but it won’t be like us. It will be a bit like aliens off Star Trek—smarter and more calculated in its actions. It will be insensitive to humans, viewing us as barbaric. So when it decides to carry out its own experiments, with viruses that it’s created, it will treat us like guinea pigs.”
Guinea pigs of robots! Another great sci-fi plot that seems awfully close to reality – far sooner than 2100. Is there any hope for humans against robots and their murderous, rogue-state AI brains?
“What we are faced with, this list suggests, is not an existential threat to humanity but sharper forms of the problems with which we are already grappling. AI should be seen not in terms of super-intelligent machines but as clever bits of software that, depending on the humans wielding them, can be used either for good or ill.”
That’s from the new report, “The Malicious Use of Artificial Intelligence: Forecasting, Prevention, and Mitigation,” which says we should worry less about the robots themselves and more about humans panicking over the advance of said robots.
Is this a good idea? We humans do tend to panic easily.
Then again, how do we know this report wasn’t written by a robot as the next step in leading us complacently into its guinea pig lair?
Obey and Bow Down to Your Alien Reptilian Overlords
There have certainly long been plenty of reports of reptilian humanoids reported across cultures and all over the world, some of which I have covered here at Mysterious Universe before, and such beings have become intertwined with the myths and legends of many cultures throughout our planet. But taking it to the next surreal level is a rather persistent and pervasive conspiracy theory that not only are lizard people real, but that they are taking over the world as we know it. It is an idea so far out in the fringe that it is considered pretty out there even among other conspiracy theorists, yet it has managed to become rather stubborn and pervasive, an idea that has gained momentum and just will not go away, and the notion that we are in thrall to some mysterious race of reptilian overlords seems like it is here to stay for awhile.
The main thrust of such bizarre theories originates with a man named David Icke. Originally a professional soccer player, before moving on in later years to the position of sportscaster, Icke’s calling took a sharp right turn into the bizarre when he had a “spiritual awakening” and became deeply interested in psychic abilities and various unexplained phenomena. He began to take up the reputation of being a psychic, making various predictions and outlandish claims, including one in which he insisted the world would end in 1997 (hint- it didn’t). He really found his true calling, however, when he latched onto the idea that ancient shape-changing reptilian aliens had come to Earth thousands of years ago and were in the process of infiltrating society for the sinister purposes of taking over the world to work towards some sort of New World Order.
David Icke
The theory first leapt out into the public consciousness with the publication of Icke’s book The Biggest Secret, in which he lays out the whole thing in great detail. According to Icke, his research showed that millennia ago a race of reptilian aliens called the the Anunnaki visited Earth and began to press us and mate with us, spreading out their bloodlines and working their way into society until they controlled all aspects of our life. Icke claimed that these creatures could shape-shift or possess humans, and they were claimed to have designed all of the world’s major religions, as well as government systems and other aspects of civilization as we know it, all while they fed upon us and performed human sacrifices and genetic manipulation on us.
Icke claims that the presence of these beings was well-known amongst ancient peoples, and cites as proof several passages from religious books such as the Bible, where he claims there can be found references to these Reptilians and their efforts to interbreed with and control humans. He also cites the numerous references throughout cultures to the worship of reptile gods and other entities, such as the Mesopotamian reptile serpent god Quetzalcoatl, the reptilian Naga of India, and many others. This is all evidence of out ancestors having had contact with out reptilian overlords in ancient times, according to Icke. He would say of this incredible theory:
I make these connections, not just from intuition, but from a tremendous amount of ancient and modern evidence that shows that this reptilian connection travels right through these thousands of years to the present day. Some of these references to serpents and dragons are obviously symbolic, not the least, the Kundalini energy and other things, but when you look at the evidence, there is a tremendous number of literal references to serpent people – serpent gods.
Over the centuries these Reptilians interbred with us and spread out to the world along with humankind, and managed to insert themselves into important families and organizations, from which they control religion, the government, education, and of course the media. These creatures are apparently attracted to our planet because of the “vibrations” present here, plus the fact that we give them a chance to continue to reproduce. Icke said of this:
The reptilians and other manipulating entities exist only just outside the frequency range of our physical senses. Their own physical form has broken down and they can no longer re-produce. Thus they have sought to infiltrate human form and so use that to exist and control in this dimension. They chose the Earth for this infiltration because it most resembles in vibration the locations from which they originate. These reptilians are addicted to the dense physical “world” and the sensations it offers and they have no desire to advance higher. Their aim in this period is to stop the Earth and incarnate humanity from making the shift from dense physical prison into multi-dimensional paradise.
By having power in every single country, the Reptilians have created a global prison that people don’t even realize they’re in. The prison was created by drawing country lines, which leads to endless wars and conflicts. Another way they control humans is by distracting us with media, entertainment, and even politics. They’ve also made the population stupid and lazy by poisoning food, the air, and the water.
A crucial aspect of all of this has been to create a network of mystery schools and secret societies to covertly introduce their agenda while, at the same time, creating institutions like religions to mentally and emotionally imprison the masses and set them at war with each other.
One common theme with the whole Reptilian conspiracy is interbreeding with human and genetic experiments upon us. This mixing of their DNA with that of humans and other genetic doctoring has been claimed to have several purposes. One is to allow them to more completely blend in and infiltrate us, and another is that it was meant to limit our mental capacity in order to keep us meek, stupid, and compliant. According to Icke, this reptilian DNA lies dormant within many of us, waiting to be activated at a moment’s notice to serve the whims of our Reptilian overlords. His whole philosophy on this is quite complex, and at times really absolutely bonkers, but he says of it:
These reptilians and their allies have corrupted Earth DNA with their own and this genetic infiltration lies dormant until it is activated by the vibrational fields generated by the Illuminati secret society rituals, and others in the public eye like the carefully designed coronations and official ceremonies of many kinds, including even the UK State Opening of Parliament and certainly those of the various religions.
Once activated, the DNA opens the body to possession by these reptilians and other beings, and this is what is happening, for example, to Freemasons in the rituals that most of them deliver parrot fashion while having no idea of their vibrational significance. This is why the Illuminati are so obsessed with knowing a person’s bloodline. They know which have the potential for this activation and possession and which do not. The Mormon Church genealogical data base and now the DNA data banks are designed to identify those with the bloodline. These are the people who are given jobs and roles that serve the Illuminati agenda, while most of them have no idea what is really going on and what they are being used for. Their DNA is then activated and they go through a change of character (a phrase I have heard so many times in relation to such people once they advance in the system) and a very different consciousness takes over their mental and emotional processes.
Each new generation of the Illuminati bloodline families is exposed to the appropriate ritual to activate their possession by the reptilian entities and so the cycle goes on. The phrase that comes to mind is “…forgive them for they know not what they do.
This all goes very deep, according to Icke, with the bloodline of the aliens getting rather complex, and with a hierarchy involved with both the Reptoids themselves and the many hybrids they have spawned that are said to walk amongst us. In particular, Icke makes frequent mention of the difference between “full bloods,” meaning they are of or close to the original Reptilian alien stock, and hybrids, which are generally lower on the totem pole. Full bloods are claimed to be in possession of a vast array of powers, such as shape-changing, which is supposedly achieved through vibrations that trick the human mind into seeing what the Reptilian wants you to see, and other abilities such as mind-control. Hybrids, on the other hand, are said to lack these powers, look very much like humans without any obfuscation, and are often not even aware of their alien ancestry. These hybrids are apparently constantly manipulated and influenced by the pureblood ruling class towards their own agendas. Icke even claims that there are two different races of Reptilian; the winged Dracos and the more humanoid Reptoids. It is a lot to take in.
Seeing as these Reptilians are said to be fond of taking over the wealthiest and most powerful of families and secret societies, it is perhaps no surprise that Icke names many of them as being without a doubt crawling with lizard people. The ever present conspiratorial society called the Illuminati is said to be basically Lizard Central, with many families of pureblood Reptilians in its ranks, and the mythology of this all incredibly complex and beyond the scope of what I plan to go into here, but which was written of extensively in Stewart A. Swerdlow’s book Blue Blood, True Blood: Conflict & Creation, which goes into considerable, meticulous detail on as to how the Reptilians are connected to the dealings of the notorious Illuminati.
Of course, these alleged Reptilians can apparently be seen in powerful mainstream families politics, and other public figures and historical figures as well. The French king Charlemagne, the Pope, the Rockefellers, the powerful Rothschild family of Germany, the British Royal family, and many American presidents including George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, the Clintons, the Obamas, and the Bushes, and, yes, Trump, are all named as Reptilians in disguise. Countless entertainers are also accused of being Reptilians, including Bob Hope, Marilyn Monroe, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Britney Spears, Justin Bieber, and many others. Virtually everyone who is anyone is suspected by Icke of being a Reptilian or hybrid, and it all serves to keep us under control and subservient to our real, Reptilian masters.
The media is also accused by Icke of being highly influenced by the Reptilians, and they supposedly use it as a tool to feed us a constant barrage of images and stories designed to dull our minds, usurp our common sense and rationality, and keep us asleep and “unconscious.” Adding to the list of conspiracies of plots perpetuated by the Reptilians is that they also seek to use medication and drugs such as alcohol to manipulate us, and that they have effectively corrupted our food and water supply with such insidious chemical agents. These are not really new ideas among those who distrust government and politicians in general, by it is all given a rather bizarre spin when it is all blamed on flesh-eating, shape-shifting reptilian aliens from beyond the stars looking to subjugate the human race for their own inscrutable purposes.
This may all sound rather insane, and in many ways it perhaps is, yet Icke and others like him have still managed to draw large numbers of people into these incredible theories and accusations. Websites and books on the Reptilian conspiracy go through great lengths to provide the “evidence,” and are often so dense with esoteric jargon and psuedo-science, and worded in such a way that it is easy to see how it might resonate with someone as true and how they might get sucked down into the rabbit hole to actually start believing this stuff. I waded through quite a bit of it while looking into this, and it is all admittedly an assault on the psyche that could very feasibly pull someone in, and by all accounts it already has. Indeed, it is estimated that a full 12 million Americans believe that this is all true, and that a secret race of Lizard People rule from behind the scenes pulling the strings and subjugating us through whatever means possible. In the end it is up to each individual to decide what one believes, but for this author if there are mysterious entities controlling our lives from the background, then I would say that it is not reptilian Lizard People. It is obviously the Greys.

Steeds vaker zie je beelden van mensen die vlak in de buurt van onze zon een "tweede zon" waarnemen, vooral bij zonsopkomst en -ondergang.
Al snel worden dit soort opnames verwezen naar het rijk der fabelen en afgedaan als lensflares, maar steeds vaker gaat ook die vlieger niet meer op.
Voor ons is het niet zo verrassend dat er steeds vaker een tweede zon wordt waargenomen. Maar, voor de meeste mensen is dit toch iets onvoorstelbaars, want er is toch helemaal geen vreemde planeet in ons zonnestelsel?
Voor hen is het misschien toch wel schokkend om te zien dat er steeds vaker beelden worden gemaakt van een soort tweede zon. De positie waar deze wordt waargenomen kan behoorlijk variëren, zeker met zonsopkomst en -ondergang en is helemaal afhankelijk van de positie op aarde.
Iemand aan wie we al vaker aandacht aan hebben besteed, is een dame uit West Virginia, Amber Williamson, die eind vorig jaar bijzondere opnames maakte. Deze zijn uitgebreid gecontroleerd door Marshall Masters en hij is ervan overtuigd dat ze echt zijn en bovendien heeft Amber deze tweede zon ook met het blote oog waargenomen.
Zo maakte zij onlangs de volgende opnames tegen zonsondergang. Je ziet de normale zon en daarachter heel duidelijk een tweede planeet/zon. Deze opname is heel mooi, want het sluit een lensflare uit, simpelweg omdat de tweede zon zich achter de bomen bevindt, wat bij een lensflare niet kan.
De volgende opname is genomen door Philip Sinclair uit Somerset in de Amerikaanse staat Massachusetts. Ook deze foto is door Marshall Masters gecontroleerd en volgens hem echt en ook hier zie je de tweede zon gedeeltelijk schuil gaan achter wolken. Ook hier is de opname gemaakt tegen zonsondergang.
De volgende opname is niet tegen zonsondergang, maar wat eerder op de dag genomen door Steve Dix uit Flagstaff in de staat Arizona. Ook deze foto is na controle echt bevonden en laat duidelijk een tweede zon zien aan de hemel. (Redactie: wij hebben twijfels over of dit niet toch een lensflare is.)
De volgende opname is voor de verandering genomen tijdens zonsopkomst. Ook hier is heel duidelijk sprake van een tweede zon.
Aan de rechterkant de zon, links de tweede zon/planeet en ook hier geen sprake van een lensflare omdat ook hier de planeet gedeeltelijk achter de wolken schuil gaat.
De exacte locatie is niet bekend, maar zo te horen aan de stem van de vrouw in onderstaande video, ergens in Amerika. Wat deze video ook interessant maakt, is dat de vrouwe die deze heeft gemaakt ooit slechts enkele video's op haar kanaal heeft geplaatst en op het moment dat wij de video zagen deze slechts 22 keer was bekeken.
Het heeft dan ook alle kenmerken van een echte opname en het is zeker niet de maan, want de opkomsttijd van de maan in Amerika was op de datum van 4 februari toen deze video werd gemaakt, pas 's avonds.

One viewer posted on YouTube: "That is unreal, what the hell is that?”
Another added: “I never thought I would say this but that is an alien ship.”
But a third was more sceptical, writing: “Large group of Chinese lanterns.”
Scott Brando who runs debunking website Ufoofinterest.org said: "Those lights are not parachuters but military cluster flares during a usual military drill filmed several times in those skies."He provided a link to a YouTube video showing a similar operation.He later tweeted: "This cluster of lights suddenly appeared in the sky above the village of Novogradska in south-western #Ukraine are not #UFOs but were targets (parachuted flares) used during military drill involving Ukrainian Marines, confirmed by their spokesman."New Satellite Will Shift Shape While in Space
While the U.S. and Russia often steal the scene when it comes to wondrous space missions, in Europe the U.K is launching a new satellite that is sure to surprise its international partners. The Eutelsat Quantum satellite, built by the firm Airbus, will be the first commercial satellite equipped to shapeshift while in orbit. Operators will be able to reconfigure the satellite in real time, modifying elements such as its frequency and the areas of the earth it covers.
Speaking with Phys.org, Yohann Leroy, deputy CEO of French satellite operator Eutelsat, said that “what is really new is the level of flexibility that the satellite will provide […] thanks to a combination of technologies that we will put on board the satellite.”
The satellite, set to launch in 2019, will have a 15-year lifespan — with an additional three years taken into consideration for building — and will use its ability to reconfigure to keep up with changing market conditions and differing regulatory parameters. Instead of satellite makers having to predict the market or have their satellites become obsolete fast, the Eutelsat Quantum satellite boasts an extreme flexibility that will keep it ahead of the game.
To give one example of how a hyper-flexible satellite like this might be beneficial, take the marine industry. To track a terminal’s journey across an ocean, you would typically have to use multiple beams from various satellites to cover all of the different regions across the water. Using this tech, a single beam from this one satellite would do the job.
Additionally, traditional satellites are often custom produced, which makes them unique but less adaptable. This satellite, however, would be built following a reproducible standard, which means it could be mass produced. While this may give pause to those concerned about space pollution, it would definitely improve access to satellite technology.
It’s unclear yet whether or not such flexibility will become mainstream in the future, but the new model’s capabilities are promising. What is sure is that the U.K. is making headway in this ambitious niche of the space industry.
Triangular Object Spotted “Dogfighting” With Two F-16s Inside Area 51
On Feb. 15, 2017, UFO seekers Tim Doyle and Tracey Su were camping near Groom Lake to take pictures and film videos of activity in the skies inside Area 51. During their stay, they spotted a couple of F-16s dogfighting and snapped some shots at the jets. It wasn’t until they got back home, when they started reviewing the pictures, that they noticed a third unidentified aircraft that they described as a “triangular” object which appeared to be dogfighting the “Vipers” (as the F-16s are dubbed within the fighter pilots community).

“We try to be a medium between the UFO Community and the Aviation Community. My dad worked at Plant 42 and other family had similar jobs. So people shouldn’t believe we would ever jump to advocating the existence of aliens or an alien craft at AREA 51. But that day we did catch a third craft, unfortunately we only used the photos in the video. All media from that trip was lost in a hard drive failure. In fact UFO Seekers lost over 5 months worth of media (6TB). It may have been a foreign aircraft as that is the primary purpose of the airspace at Groom Lake. Also I know the Air Force tests craft like the Polecat at the NTTR so it may have been an unmanned drone. But maybe, just maybe, it was something more,” said Tim in a message to The Aviationist.

The resolution of images in the video does not allow a proper identification of the object which might well be a drone (or a distant manned aircraft…such as an F-117 that was spotted flying over Nevada with accompanying F-16, in the recent past). Assessing the size is also difficult: even though the perspective might be a factor here, the object seems to be smaller than the F-16s, but probably much larger than a micro-drone as the bird-sized Perdix drones, 103 of those, launched from three F/A-18F Super Hornets, took part in one of the world’s largest micro-drone swarms over the skies of Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, California on Oct. 25, 2016. That said, the aircraft could be a prototype of some new UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), maybe a UCAV (Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle), a weaponized drone.
Considered the position of the two fighters, rather than a dogfight, it seems that the jets were chasing the mysterious object rather than engaging it. Maybe they had just intercepted it in a simulated VID mission, or they were simply shadowing or filming a test flight. However, unlike what happened last year with the shots of the Su-27P dofighting with an F-16 inside Area 51, these new photos embedded in a YT video can’t provide a clear picture of the interaction.

Famous Black Knight UFO satellite myth 'solved' by YouTube novice in just 11 minutes
But after an 11-minute DIY filming attempt, YouTube user NUA appears to have successfully debunked 1998 photographs of the so-called 'Black Knight satellite'.
This month new video footage from UFO conspiracists, widely believed to be a CGI hoax, did the rounds on social media as alleged further proof of the mysterious alien satellite.
Alien researchers have been calling the myth "one of the most convincing pieces of evidence for the existence of intelligent extraterrestrial life" for the past 17 years, while some claim it has orbited Earth for at least 13,000 years.
But NUA's video - titled "Black Knight Satellite UFO Documentary - Truth Exposed 2015 - (Debunked)" - claims to conclusively prove the 'Black Knight', as photographed in 1998 NASA images, was nothing more than a satellite thermal blanket lost by the crew of the Endeavor space shuttle as they worked on the developing the International Space Station (ISS).
In his video, NUA compared NASA video of the Endeavor mission which shows a thermal blanket on the ISS.
The same blanket is then seen being dropped by the crew as it tumbles away into space.

He highlights the blanket as being exactly the same shape as the 'Black Knight' in the 1998 pictures seized on by conspiracists and explains that the object only appeared to change shape because it was turning as it fell away.
After releasing the pictures in 1998, NASA said it was a thermal blanket, but it did not stop a wave of conspiracists branding it a huge cover up.
The legend of the alien satellite seems to have then been retrospectively dated back to 1899 when Nicola Tesla announced he was picking up radio waves coming from space, prompting people to suggest something alien was out there.
Experiments in 1928 in Oslo, Norway, picked up the same signals.
In 1954, US state newspapers carried quotes from Donald Keyhoe, a retired naval aviation major and UFO researcher, claiming the US Air Force had detected two satellites orbiting Earth, despite none yet being launched from our planet.

NUA looked at the blanket from all angles to spot identical features.
Time then ran a 1960 piece, following the launch of satellites from Earth, stating that the US Navy detected a dark object, possibly a Soviet spy satellite, with a highly irregular orbit.
The myth developed in 1963 when NASA astronaut Gordon Cooper was reported as saying he had seen the 'Black Knight Satellite' while in space, but there was a media blackout upon his return and the US space agency allegedly put it down to cosmic hallucinations.
It has been reported that a decade later in 1973, a researcher from Scotland, Duncan Lunan, looked back at the Norwegian scientists' data from 1928, before claiming the "messages" suggested the 'Black Knight' was sent by aliens from Epsilon Boötis, as a welcome message to Earth 12,600 years ago.
Many sceptics claim the legend was retrospectively created after the 1998 pictures emerged, with the preceding odd events weaved into the story to make it more convincing.
The noises from 1899 and 1928 remain a mystery, but the possible causes do not so far include an alien satellite, according to scientists.
They insist research shows that in 1954 Mr Keyhoe had been promoting a UFO book and the articles had been written in a tongue-in-cheek fashion by the papers.

A follow-up, but less widely read, article in Time also confirmed that the strange satellite had in fact been the remains of an Air Force Discoverer satellite that had gone astray, they found.
There are reports that Mr Cooper, although maintaining he saw a number of UFOs in space, never claimed to have seen the 'Black Knight satellite' on that mission or at all.
Mr Lunan is also later reported to have denied suggesting any alien satellite had its origins 12,600 years ago and that his conclusion that the noises were a star map were from unscientific methods.
Despite NUA's video, many UFO researchers refuse to believe the fabled 'Black Knight satellite' could be just a thermal blanket, insisting, it is a craft of solid construction.
One 'Black Knight' believer posted online about the thermal blanket explanation: "Classic debunking (rubbish). The things these nutters will come up with just so someone will listen to them."

He revealed the close encounter of the third kind in a revealing interview with Australian show 60 Minutes.
Instead of his usual colourful tales of his wild alcohol and drug-fuelled party days, Robbie came clean about the extraterrestrial encounter.

Clearly shocked, journalist Liam Bartlett hit back, saying: “Hang on. For the record, no substance was involved?”
Robbie replied: “No, no substance was involved at all."
And this is not the first time Robbie has recounted the tale.
Last year, he told Irish radio: “I’ve had a UFO right above my head, totally sober.
“Less than a 150ft above my head and there it was.”
Robbie is currently on the mend after a health scare in December that forced him to cancel his final two European tour dates.
Yesterday, he revealed that he now prefers being called Rob, rather than his “showbiz name” Robbie.
He has yet to give details of the size or ship of the UFO he saw, or even location, but no doubt UFO investigators will be keen to know more.
The singer is also not the only 1990s northern music sensation to claim to have seen a UFO at close hand.
In 2015 Madchester legend Shaun Ryder told how he came face to face with a huge UFO hovering over his back garden.
The Happy Mondays and Black Grape lead singer claims he was not tripping on magic mushrooms or other hallucinogenics when a 20ft by 10ft flying saucer appeared over him in South America.
And The Beatles legend, the late John Lennon once told how he was with his secretary May Pang at his New York apartment on August 23 1974 when a flashing UFO appeared.

Alien conspiracy theorists have claimed for years that there are hidden underground bases in the US, where alien visitors held the US Air Force reverse engineer their flying saucer technology.
However, it has not widely been claimed there are any in the UK.
The alien base conspiracy theory ties in with other claims that the US Government has known for years that aliens visit earth but keeps it hidden from the public for fear of the impact the knowledge would have on religion and the rule of law.

Located 2,500 feet above sea level at the top of a mountain ridge in the Southeastern Anatolia Region of Turkey, some 15 kilometers (9 mi) northeast of the town of Şanlıurfa lie the breathtaking ruins of Göbekli Tepe; a Neolithic sanctuary built some 12,00 years ago by a mysterious people.
This ancient site was found by accident when an old Kurdish shepherd named Savak Yildiz discovered the ruins in October 1994. According got accounts, Savak Yildiz spotted something protruding from the ground, and as he brushed away the dust to expose the mystery object, he came across a large oblong-shaped stone. Little did he know that he had found a long-lost ancient sanctuary built thousands of years ago.
Later that year, news reached archaeologist Klaus Schmidt from the Deutsches Archäologisches Institut who traveled to the location and eventually inspected the site, soon realizing it was Neolithic in origin.
Some called the discovery of Göbekli Tepe as the discovery of the century. Now we know that this ancient site is around 12,000 years old, it was built by an unknown population and was most likely buried on purpose by its builders. Archaeological surveys have shown that the ancient site is around 7,000 years older than Mesopotamia’s Fertile Crescent, which has long been heralded as the cradle of civilization.
The age of Göbekli Tepe is of great importance. Archaeologists firmly believe it is several thousand years older than Stonehenge and The Great Pyramid of Giza.
To get an idea of its importance, if we take a look at biblical tradition, the world began in 4000 BC, yet here we have a monument that was built more than 12,000 years ago. This points not only to the fact that 12,00 years ago advanced civilizations existed on Earth, but they were also capable of erecting some of the most impressive structures on the surface of the planet.
At Göbekli Tepe we have historic evidence that contradicts our normal understanding of the evolution of civilization and therefore mankind as we know it.
However, what is perhaps even more mind-bending is that after more than 20 years of excavations and research, archaeologists exploring the ancient site have failed to recover a single stone-cutting tool.
This makes you wonder, how can you create massive, 19-foot-tall, perfectly-sculpted columns that are up to 12,000 years old, and not find any evidence whatsoever of tools used to accomplish this?
The builders of Göbekli Tepe created a work of art in stone. At the site, we can find depictions of creatures like armadillos, wild boars, and geese, animals that are not indigenous to the region.
What is interesting is that located less than 350 Miles from Göbekli Tepe is the site many biblical scholars believe to be the resting place of Noah’s ark, so the animal carvings of Gobekli Tepe suggest a time in the region’s history when the indigenous animal population may have been of a different anthropological origin. We have to ask the question, could Göbekli Tepe and Noah’s ark be connected in a way?
After decades of exploration, we have learned very little about this archaeological site, and its builders. Despite the fact that progress has been made, we still do not know the answers to some of the most important questions like, who built Göbekli Tepe? To what purpose? And how was Göbekli Tepe preserved until today? Researchers point that Göbekli Tepe was “carefully” placed underneath the sand, as its builders made sure the whole site was buried. But… why would the builders bury such an incredible site? To protect it? To preserve it?
Why would ancient man build these massive structures around the world? Many of them are similar if not identical in design. Is there a connection? A pattern around the globe?
Göbekli Tepe is considered as an archaeological discovery of the exceptional importance since it could deeply change our understanding of a crucial stage in the evolution of human societies. “Göbekli Tepe changes everything,” says Ian Hodder of Stanford University. David Lewis-Williams, professor of archaeology at Witwatersrand University in Johannesburg, says that “Göbekli Tepe is the most important archaeological site in the world.”
At present, Göbekli Tepe raises more questions for archaeology and prehistory than it answers. We do not know how a force large enough to construct, augment, and maintain such an abundant complex was mobilized and rewarded or fed in the conditions of pre-sedentary society.
We cannot “read” the pictograms, and do not know for certain what meaning the animal reliefs had for visitors to the site; the variety of fauna depicted, from lions and bears to birds and insects, makes any single explanation problematic.
Is there something more to Göbekli Tepe? Could these ruins have an extraterrestrial connection? Was Göbekli Tepe built so that the “Sky Gods” could admire it from the sky? Or was Göbekli Tepe built to commemorate an important event in ancient man’s history?

NASA researchers say that the water is distributed throughout the surface of our satellite day and night. Its presence can be fundamental for the future establishment of a human colony on the lunar surface.
Scientists have made a groundbreaking discovery after finding evidence that Earth’s Moon may be covered in water. New data analysis of two lunar missions has found evidence that the water on the Moon is widely distributed on the surface and not confined to a particular region or type of terrain, as was previously believed.
Also, water seems to be present day and night, although that does not mean that it is necessarily easily accessible.
The findings could help researchers understand the origin of water in our natural satellite, which is still a mystery and answer another important question: whether or not, future human settlers could use it as an accessible resource.
If the Moon has enough water, and if it is fairly convenient to access it, future human explorers could use it as drinking water or even turn it into hydrogen and oxygen to fuel their rockets.
“We find that it doesn’t matter what time of day or which latitude we look at, the signal indicating water always seems to be present. The presence of water doesn’t appear to depend on the composition of the surface, and the water sticks around,” said Joshua Bandfield, a senior research scientist with the Space Science Institute in Boulder, Colorado.
The new results contradict previous studies, which suggested that there is more water in the polar latitudes of the Moon and that the strength of the water signal increases and decreases according to the lunar day (which lasts 29.5 Earth days).

Taking this into consideration, researchers have proposed that water molecules can “jump” across the lunar surface until they enter cold traps in the dark reaches of the craters near the north and south poles.
In planetary science, a cold trap is a cold region, that water vapor and other volatiles that come into contact with the surface remain stable for a prolonged period of time, even up to several billion years.
However, debates continue due to the subtleties of how detection has been achieved so far.
The main evidence comes from remote sensing instruments that measured the strength of sunlight reflected off the lunar surface.
When water is present, instruments such as these collect a spectral fingerprint at wavelengths close to 3 micrometers, which is beyond visible light and in the field of infrared radiation.
But scientists have also found that the lunar surface can also be heated enough to “shine” or emit its own light in the infrared region of the spectrum.
The challenge is to disentangle this mixture of reflected and emitted light.
For this, researchers must have very accurate temperature information.
Bandfield and his team presented a new way of incorporating lunar temperature information and created a detailed model from the measurements made by the Diviner Lunar Radiometer Experiment on board the NASA Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter.
The team applied this temperature model to data previously collected by the Moon Mineralogy Mapper, a visible and infrared spectrometer that NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California, provided for India’s Chandrayaan-1 orbiter.
Scientists say that the water most likely is found in the Form of HO, instead of H2O. The difference is that H2O is composed of one hydrogen atom and one oxygen atom, whereas OH is considered more reactive, and attaches itself chemically to other molecules. In turn, this means that future colonists would most likely have to extract the element from minerals.
The study also hints that any H2 O present on the Moon is not loosely bound to the surface.
This discovery can also help experts understand water sources and their long-term storage in other cosmic bodies throughout the solar system.
At this point, experts are still debating what exactly the findings about the Moon’s water source are telling them.
So far, the results suggest that OH and/or H2O are created by the solar wind that impacts the lunar surface, although the team does not rule out that OH and/or H2O could come from the Moon itself, slowly released from minerals inside the moon where it has been stored since the Moon was formed.

Astronomers have investigated a small population of stars in the halo of the Milky Way Galaxy, finding its chemical composition to closely match that of the Galactic disk. This similarity provides compelling evidence that these stars have originated from within the disk, rather than from merged dwarf galaxies. The reason for this stellar migration is thought to be theoretically proposed oscillations of the Milky Way disk as a whole, induced by the tidal interaction of the Milky Way with a passing massive satellite galaxy.

And yet another problem is time: How can we interpret galactic evolution if our own life span (and that of our telescopes) is far less than the blink of the cosmic eye?
Today, we have a fairly clear picture of the broad properties of the Milky Way and how it fits among other galaxies in the Universe. Astronomers classify it as a rather average, large spiral galaxy with the majority of its stars circling its center within a disk, and a dusting of stars beyond that orbiting in the Galactic halo.
These halo stars seem not to be randomly distributed in the halo - instead many are grouped together in giant structures - immense streams and clouds (or overdensities) of stars, some entirely encircling the Milky Way. These structures have been interpreted as signatures of the Milky Way's tumultuous past - debris from the gravitational disruption of the many smaller galaxies that are thought to have invaded our Galaxy in the past.
Researchers have tried to learn more about this violent history of the Milky Way by looking at properties of the stars in the debris left behind - their positions and motions can give us clues of the original path of the invader, while the types of stars they contain and the chemical compositions of those stars can tell us something about what the long-dead galaxy might have looked like.
An international team of astronomers led by Dr. Maria Bergemann from the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg now found compelling evidence that some of these halo structures might not be leftover debris from invading galaxies but rather originate from the Milky Way's disk itself!
The scientists investigated 14 stars located in two different structures in the Galactic halo, the Triangulum-Andromeda (Tri-And) and the A13 stellar overdensities, which lie at opposite sides of the Galactic disk plane. Earlier studies of motion of these two diffuse structures revealed that they are kinematically associated and could be related to the Monoceros Ring, a ring-like structure that twists around the Galaxy.
However, the nature and origin of these two stellar structures was still not conclusively clarified. The position of the two stellar overdensities could be determined as each lying about 5 kiloparsec (14000 lightyears) above and below the Galactic plane as indicated in figure 1 (see image).
Bergemann and her team, for the first time, now presented detailed chemical abundance patterns of these stars, obtained with high-resolution spectra taken with the Keck and VLT (Very Large Telescope, ESO) telescopes.
"The analysis of chemical abundances is a very powerful test, which allows, in a way similar to the DNA matching, to identify the parent population of the star. Different parent populations, such as the Milky Way disk or halo, dwarf satellite galaxies or globular clusters, are known to have radically different chemical compositions. So once we know what the stars are made of, we can immediately link them to their parent populations.", explains Bergemann.
When comparing the chemical compositions of these stars with the ones found in other cosmic structures, the scientists were surprised to find that the chemical compositions are almost identical, both within and between these groups, and closely match the abundance patterns of the Milky Way disk stars. This provides compelling evidence that these stars most likely originate from the Galactic thin disk (the younger part of Milky Way, concentrated towards the Galactic plane) itself, rather being debris from invasive galaxies!
But how did the stars get to these extreme positions above and below the Galactic disk? Theoretical calculations of the evolution of the Milky Way Galaxy predict this to happen, with stars being relocated to large vertical distances from their place of birth in the disk plane. This "migration" of stars is theoretically explained by the oscillations of the disk as a whole. The favoured explanation for these oscillations is the tidal interaction of the Milky Way's Dark Matter halo and its disk with a passing massive satellite galaxy.
The results published in the journal Nature by Bergemann and her colleagues now provide the clearest evidence for these oscillations of the Milky Way's disk obtained so far!
These findings are very exciting, as they indicate that the Milky Way Galaxy's disk and its dynamics are significantly more complex than previously thought.
"We showed that it may be fairly common for groups of stars in the disk to be relocated to more distant realms within the Milky Way--having been 'kicked out' by an invading satellite galaxy. Similar chemical patterns may also be found in other galaxies--indicating a potential galactic universality of this dynamic process." said Allyson Shefield, PhD, associate professor of physics at LaGuardia Community College/CUNY, a co-author on the study.
As a next step, the astronomers plan to analyse the spectra of other stars both in the two overdensities, as well as stars in other stellar structures further away from the disk. They are also very keen on getting masses and ages of these stars in order to constrain the time limits when this interaction of the Milky Way and a dwarf galaxy happened.
"We anticipate that ongoing and future surveys like 4MOST and Gaia will provide unique information about chemical composition and kinematics of stars in these overdensities. The two structures we have analysed already are, in our interpretation, associated with large-scale oscillations of the disk, induced by an interaction of the Milky Way and a dwarf galaxy.
Gaia may have the potential to see the connection between the two structures, showing the full pattern of corrugations in the Galactic disk", says Bergemann, who is also part of the Collaborative Research Center SFB 881 "The Milky Way System", located at Heidelberg University.
The results described here were published in Bergemann et al., "Two chemically similar stellar overdensities on opposite sides of the plane of the Galactic Disk" in the journal Nature.

Massive flare in the Proxima Centauri system puts its habitability into question
The Sun’s closest neighboring star, Proxima Centauri, might not be as welcoming as we believed — a team of astronomers have detected a flare so powerful from the star that it throws the habitability of its system into serious doubt.

A team of astronomers led by Meredith MacGregor from the Carnegie Institution for Science discovered the flare while reanalyzing recordings taken last year by the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), an array of 66 radiotelescope antennas nestled in the Atacama desert.
Now, by their very nature, solar flares are some of the most violent and energetic events we know of. Think of them as magnetic short-circuits in a star. What happens during a flare is that ebbs and flows in a star’s magnetic field start accelerating electrons (negatively-charged particles) close to the speed of light. Enough of these build up that they start interacting with stellar plasma (highly electrically charged atoms), ripping it out of the star, causing it to erupt. This eruption can be seen across the electromagnetic spectrum.
And that’s where the bad news starts: even by solar flare standards, what the team discovered was humblingly violent. The flare they detected from Proxima Centauri was over 10 times brighter, at its peak, than the largest flares that we’ve ever recorded from the Sun at similar wavelengths.
“March 24, 2017 was no ordinary day for Proxima Cen,” said MacGregor.
The flare increased Proxima Centauri’s brightness by a factor of 1,000 over 10 seconds. It was also preceded by a smaller flare. Taken together, the event lasted for under two minutes — which would explain why nobody noticed them in the first place. For context, ALMA observed the star for over 10 hours between January and March of last year, when the flares erupted.
We knew from previous observation that Proxima Centauri was prone to regular bouts of flares, although they were much smaller and emitted chiefly in the x-ray spectrum. However, the findings now cast a lot of doubt on the habitability of the exoplanet Proxima b, which up to now raised a lot of interest as a potentially habitable planet. Proxima b orbits its star around 20 times closer than the Earth orbits the Sun, so flares of this magnitude are a huge problem. The team estimates that a flare 10 times larger than a major solar flare would drench the planet with 4,000 times more radiation that Earth gets from a solar flare. That’s enough to raise literal hell on the planet, the team explains:
“It’s likely that Proxima b was blasted by high energy radiation during this flare,” says MacGregor.
“Over the billions of years since Proxima b formed, flares like this one could have evaporated any atmosphere or ocean and sterilized the surface, suggesting that habitability may involve more than just being the right distance from the host star to have liquid water.”
So it might be healthier to steer away from Proxima b until we find a way to accurately predict, and then successfully weather, these flares.
The findings also allowed the team to get a better image of the Proxima Centauri system, and infirm previous estimation that it contains large bodies of dust and larger particles, similar to our asteroid belt.
The paper “Detection of a Millimeter Flare From Proxima Centauri” has been published in the journal Astrophysical Journal Letters.

Het is niet de eerste keer dat er microben in de woestijn gevonden zijn. Maar tot nu toe was het niet duidelijk of het om oorspronkelijke bewoners ging, of restanten van beestjes die waren aangedragen door de wind.
Een extreem zeldzame regenbui in 2015 bracht het antwoord. Het water zette een explosie van biologische activiteit in gang. Genetische tests onthulden nadien dat meerdere inheemse bacteriesoorten zich hadden aangepast aan het leven in de onherbergzame woestijn.
Opvolgbezoeken in 2016 en 2017 brachten aan het licht dat dezelfde beestjes langzaamaan opnieuw in een slaaptoestand gingen, naarmate de grond er omheen opdroogde.
De microben leefden in het droogste deel van de woestijn, maar hetzelfde principe zou van toepassing kunnen zijn op Mars. “Dit zijn plaatsen waar je nooit van zou verwachten dat iets er zou kunnen overleven”, zegt planeetwetenschapper Dirk Schulze-Makuch van Washington State University aan The Independent. “Ons onderzoek toont aan dat als iets kan overleven in de droogste omgeving op aarde, er een goede kans is dat dat ook op Mars kan.”

Archeologen hebben ontdekt dat schilderingen in Spaanse grotten zijn gemaakt door Neanderthalers. Ze zijn simpelweg te oud om door moderne mensen te zijn gemaakt.
De moderne mens ging pas zo’n 40.000 jaar geleden in het gebied wonen. De grotschilderingen zijn minimaal 20.000 jaar ouder.
“De Neanderthaler was destijds de enige mensensoort in Europa,” zei Dirk Hoffman van het Max Planck-instuut in Leipzig.
“Dat betekent dat de rode lijnen op de wanden van de grotten door hen gemaakt moeten zijn,” voegde hij toe.
“Ons onderzoek heeft aangetoond dat deze tekeningen de oudste ter wereld zijn,” zei Chris Standish van de Universiteit van Southampton. “Ze moeten dus wel door Neanderthalers zijn gemaakt.”
“De tekeningen bewijzen dat ze wel degelijk creatief waren en in staat waren om symbolische representaties te begrijpen én te maken,” vervolgde hij. “Net als de moderne mens.”
Standish sprak van een ‘ongelooflijk spannende vondst’.
De schilderingen wijzen erop dat de Neanderthalers een stuk slimmer waren dan lange tijd is gedacht. En dat maakt de kans groter dat ze nog veel meer gepresteerd hebben.
Er werd altijd gedacht dat ze zulke tekeningen niet konden maken. De archeologische verschillen tussen Neanderthalers en de Homo sapiens lijken nu vrijwel geheel te zijn verdwenen.
De ontdekking doet ons beeld van de soort nu definitief kantelen. Archeologisch onderzoek heeft de afgelopen jaren laten zien dat Neanderthalers niet veel verschilden van de moderne mens.
Sommige wetenschappers zeggen dat de ontdekking suggereert dat Neanderthalers ook op andere vlakken ver ontwikkeld waren.

In April, UFO hunters claimed a 500-metre-long object off the coast of Antarctica as an underwater alien lair.
The website, UFO Sightings Hotspot, believes it does not fit the normal iceberg description. “I’m not an iceberg expert but this object is really peculiar and looks like a vessel disguised as an iceberg,” the site reads.

MESSAGE DECONTAMINATION IS IMPOSSIBLE
You see that on your console, you start to worry.
A recent paper by Michael Hippke and John G. Learned, submitted to arXiv.org on February 6, 2018, looks into the potential risk of messages received from extraterrestrial intelligence. Could such messages somehow infect our computers with alien viruses and cripple our technological infrastructure?
Turns out the answer is a solid maybe.
Their paper, which you can find over at arXiv.org (PDF is here), argues that any messages we receive from extraterrestrial intelligence (ETI) will need to be handled with caution. They’ll also likely require the use of computers to understand, and therefore could pose a very real risk of being contaminated with computer viruses, either intentionally or unintentionally.
And once we’re contaminated, it’s difficult to say whether or not we could fix that problem.
“After all, it is cheaper for ETI to send a malicious message to eradicate humans compared to sending battleships.”
What are we to do, then? The paper first suggests that “complex messages would need to be destroyed after reception in the risk averse case.”
But Hippke and Learned aren’t only concerned with complex messages. They go over a few types that could prove problematic:
They also consider the possibility of aliens sending messages in the form of learning AI. This, they argue, would likely require isolation — perhaps to only “a computer in a box on the moon,” they write — to contain the message and prevent the AI from spreading. Only then could it be translated or executed safely. Failure to do so could allow said alien AI to have free rein over the world, and who knows how that would end?
Possibly with human extinction.
It’s not all doom and gloom, though. The paper ends by stating that the risk of running into a malicious message from ETI is very low (but not zero), and that “the potential benefits from joining a galactic network might be considerable.” So, risk vs. reward.
I guess the question is…
Funny enough, back in 2015 scientists were worrying about exactly the opposite — that messages we send into space might accidentally infect alien technology. Would that, perhaps, be seen as an act of war?
“Language can hide a lot of information,” Dr. Anders Sanberg said at the time, during a speech at the British Science Festival. “We’re worried about malware being sent to aliens.”
That might be useful, though.
In the event of an actual alien invasion or extraterrestrial malware, we could always pull an Independence Day and send them a copy of Windows 10.

Located just 45 miles west of La Paz high in the breathtaking Andes mountains lie the mysterious ruins of an archaeological site called Puma Punku.
This ancient site is home to megalithic stones which many researchers say are among the largest on the planet. Some of the megaliths here measure up to 26 feet long and weigh more than 100 tons each.
This incredible site was built thousands of years ago by an extremely advanced culture. Today, Puma Punku is considered a large temple complex or monument group that is part of the Tiwanaku Site near Tiwanaku, Bolivia.
Tiwanaku is significant in Incan traditions because it is believed to be the site where the world was created. Puma Punku signifies “The Door of the Puma.”
As noted by the Andean specialist, Binghamton University Anthropology professor W. H. Isbell, a radiocarbon date was obtained by Vranich from organic material from lowermost and oldest layer of mound-fill forming the Puma Punku. This layer was deposited during the first of three construction epochs and dates the initial construction of the Puma Punku at 1510 ±25 B.P.
Puma Punku is so unique in the way that it was constructed and shaped and positioned, that it is the most intriguing ancient site on the planet. Mainstream scholars believe the blocks found at Puma Punku were formed by hand with primitive stone tools. But some researchers point to the intricate stonework as evidence of the use of advanced precision technology.
How exactly could such primitive people, living thousands of years ago, have produced such flawless stonework? Is it possible that the ancient builders of Puma Punku have fabricated the megalithic stones with advanced technology? Precision tools that could have facilitated them to accomplish these marvels of engineering and construction, clean cuts, precise angles, would that be really possible without the aid of “modern” technology? Many people today find that quite unlikely.
If you look at the stones carefully, you can see some intricate stonework, as though they used machine tools or even lasers. It’s incredible.
At Puma Punku you will find these incredible stones with perfect right angles, and some stones have small drill holes which have been evenly spaced along this groove which makes you wonder whether or not it is possible that the ancient builders of Puma Punku used some sort of advanced machinery.
A transportational and logistical nightmare
After years of research, archaeologists have said the massive stones were hewn at quarries over 60 miles away and then rolled to Puma Punku on logs.
However, what we seem to forget here and what nobody talks about is the fact that the archaeological site of Puma Punku is located at an altitude of 12,800 feet. This means that it is located above the natural tree line so this means that NO trees grew in that area which means that no trees were cut down in order to use wooden rollers.
This brings us to the obvious question as to how did the ancient builders of Puma Punku transport huge blocks of stone to their destination? Sure, they could have brought logs from elsewhere, but that would have been a transportational nightmare at that time, and even a huge labor force would not have been enough for these massive stones to arrive at their destination.
We simply have too many questions about the technology used, transportation, logistics, etc…, and it is hard to believe that all of this was achieved without the use of power tools and advanced forms of transportation.
Moving these massive blocks of granite from their quarries and bringing them to Puma Punku would have required some type of advanced technology, means by which ancient cultures could have lifted these massive stones and placed them in their positions.
Puma Punku is simply put, one of those places where, when you look at those incredible constructions, manipulated with that much perfection, your imagination just fires up, there are so many possibilities at this point, and conventional archaeological explanations just do not suffice.
The right questions need to be asked, and there are so many mysteries that surround Puma Punku… from the materials used to aid them in the constructions… to the constructions methods and transportation of the blocks and the answer probably lies in front of us.
In 1549, while searching for the capital of the Inca Empire, Spanish conquistadors led by Pedro Cieza de León crossed into Bolivia and found the ruins of an archaeological site called Tiahuanaco. Less than a quarter mile northeast of Puma Punku, modern-day researchers believe Tiahuanaco was once the center of civilization with more than 50,000 inhabitants.
In fact, Tiahuanaco is probably the greatest American culture that many people haven’t heard of. It was one of the most important antecedents of the Inca and their history. The level of achievement in architecture, in political development, agriculture, industries was unlike anything found elsewhere in South America, and most scholars agree that Tiahuanaco was mysteriously abandoned around 1100 AD, for reasons we still do not know.
However, numerous excavations revealed a great amount of information about Tiahuanaco. In the 1960s, the Bolivian government excavated and unearthed the Subterranean Temple at Tiahuanaco.
Within the walls of the square sunken courtyard, researchers discovered hundreds of mysterious stone heads with a diverse range of features.
Most scholars and authors agree that there are all the races of mankind represented at this wall, even elongated skulls, people wearing turbans, people with broad noses, people with thin noses, people with thick lips, people with thin lips, and some of the statues are particularly unusual because they do not seem to represent the local people.
These mysterious places seem to represent every type and shape of human head existing on the planet.
Two of them, which are very intriguing, were created in white in color, and they look very much like grey alien heads, say Ufologists.
A giant statue at the center of the sunken temple depicts the creator god, known as Viracocha. Curiously, Viracocha was depicted having many characteristics which are unlike those of the native population. This raises an interesting question; Why would the inhabitants of Tiahuanaco depict their most prominent god with features unlike their own?
For example, Viracocha was depicted having a beard and a mustache, something that is a very unusual thing because American Indians do not have beards and mustaches. So, who was Viracocha, and is it possible that there is more to him than what we have been led to believe?
One of the most fascinating archaeological artifacts ever discovered near Tiahuanaco is the famous Fuente Magna Bowl.
The artifact is a ceramic bowl, and it has written on its surface Sumerian cuneiform and Proto-Sumerian hieroglyphic script. This is a huge problem for mainstream scholars as these two civilizations were never connected and are located on the opposite side of the world.
In fact, these two ancient cultures were separated by more than 8.000 miles, and yet the Fuente Magna Bowl draws a direct connection between the ancient Sumerians and Tiahuanaco, and Puma Punku.

Egyptian archaeologists have discovered an ancient necropolis near the city of Menia, south of Cairo.
In the eight tombs of the funeral city, archaeologists have found more than a thousand statues and four dozen sarcophagi in pristine condition.
The archaeological site is located six kilometers north of another archaeological site called Tuna al-Gabal. The excavation work is scheduled to last for 5 years, in an attempt to uncover all burials in the cemetery, according to the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities.
Antiquities Minister Khaled al-Anani said: “We will need at least five years to work on the necropolis. This is only the beginning of a new discovery.”

For the moment, the archaeological mission has found a group of tombs and burials belonging to the priests of the ancient Egyptian god Thoth, the main deity of nome 15 (administrative division in ancient Egypt) whose capital was al-Ashmounein.
One of the uncovered tombs belongs to a high priest of the god Thoth, Hersa-Esei.
The tomb houses 13 burials in which archaeologists discovered a large number of shabti figures carved in earthenware.
Minya is located about 250 kilometers south of the Egyptian capital Cairo.

Experts also found a collection of 1,000 statuettes in very good condition, while the rest of the statuettes were found fragmented into smaller pieces. The researchers are collecting all their pieces for restoration.
Archaeologists also came across four canopic jars made of alabaster with lids showing the faces of the four sons of God Horus.
Archaeologists report that the jars are in a very good condition and still contain the mummified internal organs of the deceased. The jars are decorated with hieroglyphic texts that show the name and the different titles of its owner, the high priest ‘Djehuty-Irdy-e’, whose mummy was also found.

Archaeologists note that the mummy of high priest ‘Djehuty-Irdy-e’ is decorated with a bronze necklace that represents the ancient Egyptian God Nut stretching his wings to protect the deceased according to the ancient Egyptian belief.
The mummified remains are also decorated with a collection of precious pearls, as well as golden bronze leaves, two eyes carved in bronze and adorned with ivory and crystal pearls.
Four amulets of semi-precious stones were also found on the mummy. It is also decorated with hieroglyphic texts, one of which is engraved with a phrase saying: “happy new year”.

Some of them were found having anthropoid tops decorated with the names and different titles of their owners.

One of the strangest videos showing alleged giants popped up on the internet 11 years ago when in 2007, several new agencies and YouTubers started talking about a video where a massive human is seen standing among the population, somewhere in Japan.
The video claimed to have been filmed in 1890 in Japan quickly made headlines across the world as people started thinking about the possibility that there were giants among us.
Many also started speaking about the Nephilim, the Bible, and legends that suggest how thousands of years ago Giants walked on Earth.
The video raised numerous questions as people cared little for fact checks.
Many claimed it was the ultimate evidence the Bible was right about the Nephilim, and how society in the 21st century was living a lie.
Little did they know that the video was far from any actual evidence of Giants.
Simply put, people love stories about giants, aliens and paranormal things that cannot be easily explained.
Furthermore, by nature people are fascinated by things that we struggle to understand. It’s a mixture of curiosity and fascination.
While there have been numerous reports and even discoveries of supposed massive skeletons, unlike those of ordinary humans, this video footage allegedly filmed in 1890 is not one of them.
While it is surely intricately made and makes you think that someone really filmed a giant walking among people in Japan in 1890, the truth is the video is barely a decade old.
Since the video—and images from the video—popped up on the internet, people started sharing it like crazy, without considering for a moment whether or not it was real.
Dubbed as ‘the ultimate proof’ of Nephilim on Earth, the video spread uncontrollably.
But, someone actually decided to dig deeper and find out more about the video and images.
That, someone, was Dan Evon who researched the mystery Giant video for Snopes.
As Evans wrote in his article for Snopes; “Some people have claimed that the footage comes from the early 1800s (decades before film was invented), while others say that it shows a giant sumo wrestler in a parade. Still, others maintain that the video really shows a Biblical Nephilim giant.”
The truth is that the footage is in fact only 11 years old, and belongs to a scene from the 2007 movie Big Man Japan, a movie which features a wide range of bizarre creatures as Evans explains.
“The “giant,” then, is the product of standard special-effects trickery, not hidden footage that proves beyond a doubt the existence of Nephilim.”
There may be plenty of evidence of Giants existing on Earth, but this one surely isn’t one.
China’s Hypersonic Plane Travels From Bejing to New York in a Few Hours
Global powers are pushing flight faster. With Japan looking to reintroduce supersonic speeds to aircraft, China has joined several U.S. companies in working on aircraft capable of achieving hypersonic speeds — and they’re relatively far along.
Researchers from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing successfully tested their “I Plane” (named because it resembles a capital ‘I’ when viewed from the front) in a wind tunnel at speeds ranging from Mach 5 to Mach 7, or than 3,800 to 5,370 miles per hour. In their research, published in the journal Science China Physics, Mechanics & Astronomy, the team explains the hypersonic plane would only need a “couple of hours” to travel from Beijing to New York. For comparison, a commercial airline flight can take at least 14 hours.
Testing has been successful so far, with the craft producing low drag and high lift. As reported by the South China Morning Post, the I Plane’s lift was roughly 25 percent of that of a Boeing 737; compared to the 737’s ability to carry up to 20 tonnes, or 200 passengers, an I Plane of the same size could carry 5 tonnes or 50 passengers.
A researcher familiar with the project (who went unnamed) told the SCMP the I Plane could be used to transport bombs as well, saying it could be “something like a hypersonic heavy bomber;” incidentally, China also recently developed hypersonic missiles capable of traveling at speeds above 7,000 mph.
Popular Science notes the I Plane’s development reflects China’s desire to be a leader in the hypersonic arms race. China’s next hypersonic project includes a wind tunnel that can produce speeds of up to Mach 36, making it more capable than the Mach 30 LENX-X in Buffalo, New York.
U.S. Admiral Harry Harris warned congress in February about China delving into hypersonic technology, but it’s not as though the U.S. isn’t working on hypersonic projects of its own.
Researchers from NASA discovered last year that boron nitride nanotubes could be a material that makes hypersonic air travel more feasible, and could allow NASA planes to cross the country in less than an hour. Furthermore, the U.S. Navy is testing hypersonic weapons that could hit anywhere on Earth within an hour, and Lockheed Martin hinted in January the SR-72 — the successor to the SR-71 Blackbird — is already in development, and that this hypersonic plane could be flying by 2030.
It’ll be some time before hypersonic flight comes to commercialized aircraft, but the idea of going hypersonic is already being capitalized on. At this point, it comes to to who can use it more effectively first.

Recently, theoretical physicist and Michio Kaku revealed some interesting facts about aliens in his new book “The Future of Humanity. In the book, Kaku wrote about aliens, their chance of making contact with humans and how they will react when they encounter the humans.
In the book, Kaku also mentioned the looks of the aliens. According to Kaku, in future, human civilization will become more advanced and will develop new cutting-edge technologies that will lead them closer to aiming contact with alien life. Scientists have hypothesized about the fact that extraterrestrial life might be possible in far-off worlds much different from Earth.
Like humans, they might be advancing their technology or skills to make contact with other worlds or to keep an eye on other worlds. Kaku consulted some exobiology experts and theorists specializing in hypothetical alien life forms present in distant worlds and came up with a list of necessary features that the aliens should possess to match up with the humans. According to Kaku, the aliens would have Stereo Vision, two eyes capable of focusing on a single object, just like humans. Stereo vision helps the hunters or predators to catch their prey. Kaku wrote, “In all likelihood, intelligent aliens in space will have descended from predators that hunted for their food.”
Kaku further wrote that depicting aliens as hunters does not mean that they will be aggressive or attack us but we need to be cautious about that as their ancestors long ago might have been predators. Another must-have feature is the presence of thumbs in aliens, as per Kaku. Opposable thumbs or grasping appendages played a major role in the rise of primates. The thumbs would help them catch their prey and also create tools, thus strengthening their chances of making contact. The third important feature that alien should possess is the language. In order to hand down and accumulate essential information from generation to generation, some form of language is crucial,” Kaku wrote.
Kaku also predicted that the ice-covered moons are the places more prone to hosting alien life because there the life would exist underwater. Although Kaku predicted that aliens need to have stereo vision, grasping thumps and some sort of language to have any contact with humans, he did not mention about the shape or size of the aliens or in what form they are present in the outside worlds.

Humans have been on planet Earth for around 6 million years according to mainstream science. In that time Earth and the human race has endured many catastrophes, with the popular ones being ice ages, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and asteroids.
But we are still here, for now.
All Good Things…
As we know all good things come to an end, and one day that quote will come to fruition as far as humans and our planet are concerned.
But how would we all die, or worse, how would planet Earth be destroyed? I love apocalyptic fiction. So much so I am releasing an anthology of my short stories later this year. But before I do I wanted to write some articles about our demise, and some of the ways in which we could be destroyed. So read on for my take on what could, potentially wipe us all out.
Alien Plague
In 2013 a team of British researchers released a balloon into the stratosphere. It floated up to around 14-17 miles above the Earth, and collected samples as it flew. When it came back down to Earth, the researchers had a shock when they checked their samples. Microscopic algae called diatom were found, surprising the researchers. This meant that high above our heads potentially dangerous viruses could be lurking, ready to land and wipe us out.
But where did they originally come from?
Now Where’s that Bacteria From?
Skip forward to 2017, and there have been claims by Russian Cosmonauts that when they swabbed the outside of the ISS, the swabs contained bacteria which they claim is alien bacteria. Whether it’s alien or human bacteria I don’t know, but it just goes to show that life could have been started by bacteria falling down to Earth billions of years ago. Something which some mainstream scientists think happened. It also means that alien bacteria could also drop down on to Earth, and the consequences to life on Earth could be catastrophic.
Alien Invasion of the ‘Tiny’ Kind
We have no idea what’s out there in the vastness of space. Alien races, weird and wonderful planets, teaming with what we’d call ‘exotic alien life.’ What about alien plagues? If something did hitch a ride on an asteroid or comet, and crashed on Earth, how would we deal with it? It could be something so different from our known viruses we have no idea how to deal with it. Can you imagine the consequences to human and other life on Earth for that matter?
Not so Friendly Neighbours
Maybe an alien race has read the messages we sent out into space on board the Pioneer spacecraft, or listened to the record Voyager’s 1and 2 had on board. They then decide our planet is perfect for themselves but don’t want an all-out alien invasion. One way in which to destroy the population of Earth would be Biological Warfare, and what better way to deliver that payload by sending an asteroid our way piggybacked with a concoction of deadly bacteria we couldn’t deal with.

Have you seen the films ‘Last Man on Earth’ with Vincent Price, then Charlton Heston? How about ‘Planet of the Apes?’ There are many fictional films, books and TV shows out there that deal with pandemics, but could such a thing actually happen?
Global Epidemic
Throughout the ages pandemics or global epidemics have scythed through the human populous, decimating it as it did.
The Black Death in the 14th century. Spanish Flu in the early 1900’s. How about HIV, Ebola, and Smallpox? They are just a few of the viruses that have managed to get a foothold on the planet, and killed off many millions of people, and animals in some cases. Not all are created by humans either. In the case of the Black Death, (Rats) HIV, (Monkeys) Ebola, (Bats) and others, they have come from animals, mutated and crossed over to humans. Some are still around today, like HIV, which is still causing the deaths of many millions of people as there’s no known cure.
Could a Mad Scientist Really Create a Deadly Virus?
It doesn’t have to be a mad scientist who creates something that can wipe out mankind. As I’ve mentioned above, some of the viruses have been caused by Mother Nature herself. Called Zoonoses, (infectious diseases of animals that can be transmitted to humans),
It’s only a matter of time before the Armageddon virus jumps from an animal onto humans, and wipes us all out.
Nanotechnology
What is Nanotechnology?

“Nanotechnology is science, engineering, and technology conducted at the nanoscale, which is about 1 to 100 nanometers.
Nanoscience and nanotechnology are the study and application of extremely small things and can be used across all the other science fields, such as chemistry, biology, physics, materials science, and engineering.”
What Could Possibly Go Wrong?
The year is 2066 and mankind is using nanotechnology in every aspect of their lives. Surgery is totally revolutionised by the advent of nanotech, and in particular nanobots. Most known diseases and viruses have been eradicated thanks in no small part to these ‘wonder bots’ as some people are calling them.
Cancer, one big problem with us humans has been almost defeated thanks to the nanobots. They are injected into the patient then they set about finding the disease, then getting rid of it in a matter of days. Once they have completed their task they go inert and pass through the body naturally as they are so tiny no one knows they are there.
But there’s a problem. In a rush to get the nanobots out of the lab and into everyday life, essential coding was rushed through. Instead of going inert and passing out of the body naturally, they stay there, and wait. Silently reproducing themselves until the hosts, the human patient can’t handle the sheer number of bots inside them. Its then they burst out, and start to ‘cleanse’ anything and everything in a ‘Grey Goo Revolution.’
Sounds like Science Fiction doesn’t it? Well actually within a few decades we will have nanobots, and most probably using them in all sorts of things, surgery being one. Some scientists urge caution as they could potentially replicate causing our destruction, along with our planet, galaxy and the whole universe.
This leads me nicely to my next disaster…
Rise of the Machines
Hands up if you HAVEN’T seen any of The Terminator films? I could probably count those that haven’t seen at least one of them films on one finger, as most are so good nearly everyone would have seen at least one.
Artificial Intelligence, or A.I. for short, will be the biggest thing mankind has ever invented. Such is the development of A.I. it’s no longer ‘if’ we build an A.I. unit but rather ‘when.’ We are already using some form of A.I. in technology, like fridges, cookers, tablets and mobile phones. But what I am talking about is an android, robot or whatever you want to call it.
Such is the rush to create little Tommy the Terminator that mistakes are bound to happen, and that could result in the A.I. turning against us.
When They Speak People Listen
When the likes of Professor Stephen Hawking’s and Elon Musk say A.I. could mean the end of the human race, it’s time to stand up and listen to what they have to say.
“It would take off on its own, and re-design itself at an ever increasing rate,” the professor has said.
“Humans, who are limited by slow biological evolution, couldn’t compete, and would be superseded.”
Elon Musk has warned that “A.I. is our biggest existential threat”.
Now I’m all for technology making things easier for us lazy humans, but not at the expense of us lazy humans. And while I for one welcome the advent of A.I., we must tread carefully and make sure there are no mistakes or backdoors in which it can escape.
First Thoughts
Let’s put this into context for a minute. We create an A.I. unit and switch it on for the first time. What do you think it sees when it opens its eyes for the first time? It could see us humans as a problem to the planet and anything else living on it. We are warmongers, weak, and live in puny, fragile bodies that constantly need repairing. Oh and we grow old, something the A.I. won’t do.
Friend or Foe?
Is it going to want to ‘help’ mankind? Maybe it sees us as a threat, and wants to destroy us all. Seeing as computers double their intelligence every eighteen months or so, means that before long A.I. will be way smarter than us. We could program it to help us with all sorts of tasks, like creating nanobots if they haven’t been built. Now can you imagine if it did help us build these microscopic workers, then turned on us with them and itself. There’d be nowhere to run that’s for sure.
Kill Switch
So they said a ‘kill switch’ will be built in to the A.I. Oh yea? How long do you think it’ll take for it to find it? Then what do you think it will do? For one it’s going to disable it, and two, it could see that as a threat to itself, and kill us all. It won’t take any A.I. unit long to explore itself and its surroundings. It’s going to be curious just like us, and want to know about everything it sees, touches, and smells.
A Passing Star or Planet
According to mainstream science there are plenty of rogue stars and planets gallivanting around the universe after being kicked out of their own many millions of years ago. If one did enter our galaxy then I’m afraid it could leave its calling card on our galaxy, and probably our planet.
Has this happened before?
Yes it has. Around 4.5 billion years ago, a Mars sized object collided with the Earth. The debris that was flung out in to space was clumped together and ended up forming the moon we see in the night sky today. Astronomer’s called the object Theia, which in ancient times was the Titan Goddess of Sight.
If the same thing happened today, nothing would be left after the collision, just dust, debris, fire and lava.
A Passing Star
Astronomers believe that around 70,000 years ago a red dwarf star did pass through our solar system. Named the Scholz Star (after the person who found the star) it’s thought that the star passed through the outer edges of the Oort cloud, a cloud of comets some 5 trillion miles away. The next time a star will pass ‘close’ to us will be a mere 240,000 to 470,000 years from now, by a ‘rogue star’ named HIP 85605. It’s thought it would skirt the outer reaches of The Oort Cloud, and not cause our planet any problems, not that we’d be here in 240,000 years anyway!
For a star to give us any cause for alarm it would either have to go supernova as it passed through our galaxy, or pass through the inner parts of the solar system. According to the professionals, no star they know of is passing that close. I hope they’re right.
Wandering Black Hole
Could a black hole passing through our galaxy, destroy us? Well to answer that we need to know what a black hole is, and the main types of black hole.
There are many types of black hole, but the three main types are:
The most popular black hole is the stellar black hole. These are created when the centre of a massive star collapses in on itself and creates a supernova which blasts part of the star out into space.
I Can See You
If one did enter our galaxy would we know it was there? Well most probably yes because of the accretion disk. This is basically heated radioactive material dragged in by the black hole. Outer planets would be swallowed up or at the very least, thrown out of our galaxy. This would have a knock on effect, and the inner planets and even the suns orbits would be seriously compromised. The Oort cloud would be no more, but before it merged with the black hole it would probably shoot out comets towards Earth and the other planets, and we would be destroyed before the black hole got any closer.
If we did survive that onslaught and the black hole continued through the galaxy, then we would again be pulverised by asteroids from the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. Devastating earthquakes and super volcanoes would lay waste to whatever was left of the Earth, and any remaining humans, animals, insects, fish and mammals would be on borrowed time. As the black hole drew closer it would finally tear our planet apart, with the remains dragged into the accretion disk where it would remain for millions of years.
It’s the End Jim, But Not as we know it
Mainstream science will tell you most, if not all of these scenarios are very unlikely to happen. Well my dad used to tell me nothings impossible, so for now all bets are on the table as far as these are concerned. I’m not going to lose any sleep over them though. Instead I’m going to write some more apocalyptic fiction, as researching for ‘6 Things That Could Destroy Earth or Wipe out the Human Race’ has given me some great ideas.
NASA shares unique time-lapse of Jupiter’s South Pol

Jupiter’s colorful bands or the gas giant’s huge Red Spot typically get all the attention but in a series of novel photos, NASA has finally captured a glimpse of a rare feature: Jupiter’s South Pole. We aren’t disappointed, that’s for sure!
When people think of Jupiter, they picture a colorful marble mainly painted in browns, reds, and off-whites. However, as images beamed back by the Juno spacecraft show, the gas giant is a lot more diverse when viewed from other angles. What immediately caught my eye were the beautiful blue swirling patterns, which resembles a mesmerizing iris.
NASA’s Juno spacecraft took the color-enhanced time-lapse sequence of images during its eleventh close flyby of the gas giant planet on Feb. 7 between 7:21 a.m. and 8:01 a.m. PST.
Although at first glance each picture in the series looks the same, there are slight differences between each image. The differences between the far left image and the far right image, for instance, are more immediately noticeable.

NASA’s Juno spacecraft arrived at the Jupiter system on July 4, 2016. Its mission is to study the planet in detail to give scientists a better idea of the gas giant’s weather, magnetic environment and formation history.
Juno is only the second long-term mission at Jupiter after the Galileo spacecraft, which orbited the planet from 1995 to 2003. The spacecraft’s two-year mission is scheduled to end in six months. NASA will either crash Juno into Jupiter or extend its mission with a new lease.

A gigantic line stretching 13,000 miles across the planet has been spotted on Google Earth.
The strange line resembles a con-trail emitted by an aeroplane but is much longer, reaching from Antarctica to the North Pole.
It was spotted by the YouTube channel SecureTeam 10.
‘This was not created by an airliner,’ it said. ‘This map here and at this distance only gives us images of the major cloud formations and weather around the Earth.
‘There are obviously hundreds of thousands of contrails by planes but we cannot see them.
‘Whatever created this cloud formation, if that’s what it is, would have to be massive.
‘Not only that, it would have the ability to go from Antarctica spanning 13,000 miles in a straight line all the way to the North Pole without stopping and without changing direction.
‘It would have to do this fast enough to leave this entire line of clouds in perfect condition like it moved over the Earth in a matter of minutes.’
If the line is real, it may have been produced by a new type of jet capable of travelling at extreme speeds.
However, there’s a chance it may have been produced by a glitch in Google Earth, which stitches together photos taken at different times together.
