The Bureau: XCOM Declassified: Is This Game A Government Conspiracy To Cover Up UFO Truth?

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified: Is This Game A Government Conspiracy To Cover Up UFO Truth?

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified

It's a classic tale of a UFO cover-up: Extraterrestrials invade a military base, soldiers battle the ETs, then press officials and government agents explain away this interplanetary conflict with lies involving weather balloons and military test flights.

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, a video game released Tuesday, lets you do just that. Set during the Cold War, The Bureau allows you to play the role of a United States government agent, using your tact to thwart the alien occupation while also weaving a web of lies for the public.

Peculiar, though, that a game about UFO conspiracy came out within a week of the federal government's declassification of Area 51 documents. It's even weirder that the man heading the public relations side of the game's release is Nick Pope, the former head of the British Ministry of Defence's now-defunct UFO desk.

So The Bureau must be a government ploy to steer our fragile minds away from the real Area 51 and more toward the creepy, unbelieveable aliens that inhabit pop culture, right? The Internet seems to think so. During a promotional interview for the last game in the XCOM series, Pope told reporters that Britain had weapon capabilities specifically geared toward an alien invasion.

Message boards were quick to point at Pope's government ties.

"[Is this] a green light for alien propaganda?" wrote one user.

"Mr. Pope cannot tell full truths, as it is with many [government] employees," another added. "There are pieces of truth within his statements."

Pope told HuffPost Weird News that many people think he's still secretly working as a government flack, gathering intel on the public's notion of UFOs.

"They say I didn't really leave the ministry in 2006," he said. "They say, either this game is designed to throw people off, or it's part of a climatization process. Somehow I'm helping governments use this as a way of slowly getting the message out: They're here, but don't panic."

Are Pope and The Bureau's publisher, 2K Games, part of a government conspiracy? Probably not. More likely, Pope is simply a former government worker getting paid by a studio to be spokesman for a video game.

the bureau

That's what they want you to think.

In fact, the government is involved in video games, but it isn't very secretive about them. America's Army, a first-person shooter funded and released entirely by the U.S. Army, is a known recruiting tool that shows off -- to gamers -- how cool a job with the military can be. Minus the death part.

Then again, if Pope was really lying about his intention to confuse the public with the release of a video game, he might say things like this:

"We didn't plan to match up the game's release with the declassification of Area 51 material ...  I'm not a gamer myself, I'm not involved in the development side. My role is to engage with the gaming community and bridge the gap between UFO enthusiasts and gamers."

It should be noted that The Bureau is a relatively solid real-time strategy shooter with a compelling storyline. Pope claims that the United States government was fine with the UFO rumors spreading during the real Cold War, because it was actually testing U-2 spy planes. The Bureau's storyline delves into broad topics like these about government cover ups, and any gamer interested in UFO lore will stay interested.

Video: Mexican Government Releases Ancient Space Explorer and Extra-terrestrial Evidences

Video: Mexican Government Releases Ancient Space Explorer and Extra-terrestrial Evidences

Newly released ancient Mayan documents, which are estimated to be around 1,300 years old, seem to reveal that mankind is not alone in the universe and very advanced technologies such as space travel have likely existed thousands of years back.

The documentation, which was released by the Mexican government, not only suggests the existence of space explorer but may also shows the origin of human race.

Some consider the revelation by the government as a major development for humanity as it seems the truth is slowly getting disclosed. Many people in the UFO and extra-terrestrial community are hoping that the newly released documentation will fast track the disclosure of similar and other related information through the effort of governments around the world.

The Sundance winner “Revelation of the Mayans 2012,” by Juan Carlos Rulfo, also discusses such technology. The makers of the documentary were closely working with the Mexican government, according to the producer, Raul Julia-Levy, who described the cooperation as good for mankind. He revealed that MEXICO President Alvaro Colom Caballeros was the one who ordered to collaborate.

Julia-Levy said the government will release the artefacts, codices and related documents with proof of extra-terrestrial and Mayan contact. Archaeologists will corroborate all of their information. He explained that the government is not alone in making this statement as everything is supported with significant evidence.

Mexican state of Campeche minister of tourism Luis Augusto Garcia Rosado went on record to confirm the discovery of alien life. In a statement by Rosado, he confirmed the documents about Mayans and extra-terrestrials contact, which the government has kept for quite some time in underground vaults. He also mentioned about the 3,000-year-old landing pads in the jungle in one of his interviews.

It is revealed that the Mexican government has protected these secrets for around 80 years.

My Guardian Angel

My dad recently told me this story and I was just amazed. I thought you guys would like to hear it.

When I was young, about three or so, I was hospitalized and near death. I had a fever that just would not break and was passed out for most of the hospitalization. My dad, who has always been religious, wanted the hospital’s priest to come say a prayer for me.

So, the priest comes to pray for me but, something’s not right about the guy. He never gives his name and has no bible. He says the entire prayer in Latin and blesses me.

Now, my parents aren’t married yet and since the priest is there, they ask why they haven’t been able to have another child yet. They had been trying for about a year with no luck. The priest tells them that they won’t have another child until they’re married.

The priest leaves after that and an hour later my fever breaks.

The next day the hospital’s priest comes to the room to say a prayer for me. My dad is confused and tells the man that someone had already come the day before, to which the man replies that no priests were on duty the day before. He checked with all of the hospital staff and their visitation book and everything, nothing turned up. No priest was in the previous day.

He searched for years to find this priest that prayed for me and he never found a single trace of him anywhere.

A month after my mom and dad got married, my mom got pregnant with my brother.

So, we’ll never know who the mysterious man was but, I like to think he’s my guardian angel. To this day my dad still has found no record of him, not even someone who looks like him. Someone was looking out for me that day though. I just wish I knew who. – Reddit.com

“Martyrs Breeding Nation of Iran” Demands Flogging for Actress Kissing Strange Man on Cheek

In Iran, women are supposed to dedicate themselves exclusively to breeding martyrs. Not kissing strange infidels on the cheek. That’s cheeky behavior at odds with Hezbollah’s pride in breeding human cannon fodder which must be punished with lashes.

The group, which is called Hizbullah, has links to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, demanded the flogging of Iranian actress Leila Hatami for her on-the-cheek kiss with the president of the Cannes Film Festival during the opening ceremony.

It filed a complaint with Iran’s judiciary for the prosecution of the actress who stars in the Oscar-winning, “A Separation.”

“We, the undersigned, who are a group of student Muslim brothers and sisters, ask the cultural and media branch of the judiciary to prosecute Leyla Hatami for her sinful act of kissing a strange man in public, which according to article 638 of Islamic Criminal Justice carries a prison sentence.”

“Furthermore, the action of this film star has hurt the religious sentiments of the proud and martyrs breeding nation of Iran and as such we also demand the punishment of flogging for her as stipulated in the law.”

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard effectively runs Iran. Hezbollah in Iran was the traditional arm of Iranian clerics, gathered from criminals who were the lowest element of society, and were used to beat and kill the enemies of Islam.

Every time you see an appeaser cite how many Iranian women work in film, remember that these are the conditions under which they work. Iran is a totalitarian society run by theocrats and fascists. It has plenty of talented women. It also has vicious repression.

Iranians are rather tired of breeding martyrs, but the rulers of Iran aren’t. Their “moderate” president is a puppet of its true rulers.

“Angel” which saved British troops in WW1 “may have been UFO”

A famous supernatural incident during World War I may have had a rather more otherworldly explanation.

According to the story, heavily outnumbered British soldiers managed to push back the German forces at the Battle of Mons thanks to supernatural intervention in the form of angelic warriors who mysteriously appeared during the battle and fought alongside the troops.

The miraculous tale would go on to spur both controversy and intrigue for years to come. Several books were published with conflicting views of the event which lead to rumors and conspiracy theories. One particularly prominent idea was that the whole thing had been fabricated as part of a military morale boosting exercise designed to improve recruitment numbers.

Fast forward to the 21st century and now the Angel of Mons has been brought once again in to the limelight thanks to a new set of claims suggesting that what the soldiers witnessed was in fact the otherworldly occupants of a UFO.

“The UFO enigma was unknown during the First World War conflict; the troops would relate to an event such as this in the only way they could, by thinking that they had a sign from God,” said author Kevin Goodman.

The testimony of a Lance-Corporal who was a first-hand witness to the event is quite compelling:

“I could see quite plainly in mid-air a strange light which seemed to be quite distinctly outlined and was not a reflection of the moon, nor were there any clouds in the neighbourhood. The light became brighter and I could see quite distinctly three shapes, one in the centre having what looked like outspread wings, the other two were not so large, but were quite plainly distinct from the centre one. They appeared to have a long loose-hanging garment of a golden cloak.”

Woman’s car attacked by self-identified ‘high elf’ battling evil

The last thing the woman from Northeast Portland probably expected when she got up Tuesday morning was that she would be attacked by a sword-wielding elf.

But that’s what happened around 7 a.m. as she drove her red BMW by the intersection of Southeast 7th and Morrison.

A man dressed in chain-mail with a helmet, shield and carrying a sword and staff ran into traffic and started attacking her car.

She called 911, reporting that “a pirate” was attacking her car.

When police got there, they detained Konrad Bass of Glendale, Oregon.

Bass told officers that he wasn’t a pirate but a “high-elf engaged in battle with the evil Morgoth.”

Morgoth is a character created by JRR Tolkien in a prequel to the Lord of the Rings stories. In the stories, he is the character from which all evil grew.

Bass, who was cited for criminal mischief and transported to Providence Hospital, also told officers he had taken LSD.

The woman’s car had several puncture marks.

NOTE: Portland, OR is certainly a weird place. But, then again, us ‘Grimm’ fans already know that. Lon

Violent stellar explosion: Stellar behemoth self-destructs in a Type IIb supernova

Violent stellar explosion: Stellar behemoth self-destructs in a Type IIb supernova

stellar: A star in a distant galaxy explodes

A star in a distant galaxy explodes as a supernova: while observing a galaxy known as UGC 9379 (left; image from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey; SDSS) located about 360 million light years away from Earth, the team discovered a new source of bright blue light (right, marked with an arrow; image from the 60-inch robotic telescope at Palomar Observatory). This very hot, young supernova marked the explosive death of a massive star in that distant galaxy. A detailed study of the spectrum (the distribution of colors composing the light from the supernova) using a technique called "flash spectroscopy" revealed the signature of a wind blown by the aging star just prior to its terminal explosion, and allowed scientists to determine what elements were abundant on the surface of the dying star as it was about to explode as a supernova, providing important information about how massive stars evolve just prior to their death, and the origin of crucial elements such as carbon, nitrogen and oxygen. Credit: Avishay Gal-Yam, Weizmann Institute of Science

Our Sun may seem pretty impressive: 330,000 times as massive as Earth, it accounts for 99.86 percent of the Solar System’s total mass; it generates about 400 trillion trillion watts of power per second; and it has a surface temperature of about 10,000 degrees Celsius. Yet for a star, it’s a lightweight.

The real cosmic behemoths are Wolf-Rayet stars, which are more than 20 times as massive as the Sun and at least five times as hot. Because these stars are relatively rare and often obscured, scientists don’t know much about how they form, live and die. But this is changing, thanks to an innovative sky survey called the intermediate Palomar Transient Factory (iPTF), which uses resources at the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC) and Energy Sciences Network (ESnet), both located at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab), to expose fleeting cosmic events such as supernovae.

For the first time ever, scientists have direct confirmation that a Wolf-Rayet star — sitting 360 million light years away in the Bootes constellation — died in a violent explosion known as a Type IIb supernova. Using the iPTF pipeline, researchers at Israel’s Weizmann Institute of Science led by Avishay Gal-Yam caught supernova SN 2013cu within hours of its explosion. They then triggered ground- and space-based telescopes to observe the event approximately 5.7 hours and 15 hours after it self-destructed. These observations are providing valuable insights into the life and death of the progenitor Wolf-Rayet.

“Newly developed observational capabilities now enable us to study exploding stars in ways we could only dream of before. We are moving towards real-time studies of supernovae,” says Gal-Yam, an astrophysicist in the Weizmann Institute’s Department of Particle Physics and Astrophysics. He is also the lead author of a recently published Nature paper on this finding.

“This is the smoking gun. For the first time, we can directly point to an observation and say that this type of Wolf-Rayet star leads to this kind of Type IIb supernova,” says Peter Nugent, who heads Berkeley Lab’s Computational Cosmology Center (C3) and leads the Berkeley contingent of the iPTF collaboration.

“When I identified the first example of a Type IIb supernova in 1987, I dreamed that someday we would have direct evidence of what kind of star exploded. It’s refreshing that we can now say that Wolf-Rayet stars are responsible, at least in some cases,” says Alex Filippenko, Professor of Astronomy at UC Berkeley. Both Filippenko and Nugent are also co-authors on the Nature paper.

Some supermassive stars become Wolf-Rayets in the final stages of their lives. Scientists find these stars interesting because they enrich galaxies with the heavy chemical elements that eventually become the building blocks for planets and life.

“We are gradually determining which kinds of stars explode, and why, and what kinds of elements they produce,” says Filippenko. “These elements are crucial to the existence of life. In a very real sense, we are figuring out our own stellar origins.”

All stars — no matter what size — spend their lives fusing hydrogen atoms to create helium. The more massive a star, the more gravity it wields, which accelerates fusion in the star’s core, generating energy to counteract gravitational collapse. When hydrogen is depleted, a supermassive star continues to fuse even heavier elements like carbon, oxygen, neon, sodium, magnesium and so on, until its core turns to iron. At this point, atoms (even subatomic particles) are packed in so closely that fusion no longer releases energy into the star. It is now solely supported by electron degeneracy pressure — the quantum mechanical law that prohibits two electrons from occupying the same quantum state.

When the core is massive enough, even electron degeneracy won’t support the star and it collapses. Protons and electrons in the core merge, releasing a tremendous amount of energy and neutrinos. This, in turn, powers a shockwave that tears through the star ejecting its remains violently into space as it goes supernova.

The Wolf-Rayet phase occurs before the supernova. As nuclear fusion slows, the heavy elements forged in the star’s core rise to the surface setting off powerful winds. These winds shed a tremendous amount of material into space and obscure the star from prying telescopes on Earth.

“When a Wolf-Rayet star goes supernova, the explosion typically overtakes the stellar wind and all information about the progenitor star is gone,” says Nugent. “We got lucky with SN 2013cu — we caught the supernova before it overtook the wind. Shortly after the star exploded, it let out an ultraviolet flash from the shock wave that heated and lit up the wind. The conditions that we observed in this moment were very similar to what was there before the supernova. ”

Before the supernova debris overtook the wind, the iPTF team managed to capture its chemical light signatures (or spectra) with the ground-based Keck telescope in Hawaii and saw the telltale signs of a Wolf-Rayet star. When the iPTF team performed follow-up observations 15 hours later with NASA’s Swift satellite, the supernova was still quite hot and strongly emitting in the ultraviolet. In the following days, iPTF collaborators rallied telescopes around the globe to watch the supernova crash into material that had been previously ejected from the star. As the days went by, the researchers were able to classify SN 2013cu as a Type IIb supernova because of the weak hydrogen signatures and strong helium features in the spectra that appeared after the supernova cooled.

“With a series of observations, including data I took with the Keck-I telescope 6.5 days after the explosion, we could see that the supernova’s expanding debris quickly overtook the flash-ionized wind that had revealed the Wolf-Rayet features. So, catching the supernova sufficiently early is hard — you’ve got to be on the ball, as our team was,” says Filippenko.

“This discovery was totally shocking, it opens up a whole new research area for us,” says Nugent. “With our largest telescopes you might have a chance of getting a spectrum of a Wolf-Rayet star in the nearest galaxies to our Milky Way, perhaps 4 million light years away. SN 2013cu is 360 million light years away — further by almost factor of 100.”

And because the researchers caught the supernova early — when the ultraviolet flash lit up the progenitor’s stellar wind — they were able to take several spectra. “Ideally, we’d like to do this again and again and develop some interesting statistics, not just for supernovae with Wolf-Rayet progenitors but other types as well,” says Nugent.

Pipeline Upgrade Leads to Unexpected Discoveries

Since February 2014, the iPTF survey has been scanning the sky nightly with a robotic telescope mounted on the 48-inch Samuel Oschin Telescope at Palomar Observatory in Southern California. As soon as observations are taken, the data travel more than 400 miles to NERSC in Oakland via the National Science Foundation’s High Performance Wireless Research and Education Network and the Department of Energy’s ESnet. At NERSC, the Real-Time Transient Detection Pipeline sifts through the data, identifies events to follow up on and sends an alert to iPTF scientists around the globe.

The survey was built on the legacy of the Palomar Transient Factory (PTF), designed in 2008 to systematically chart the transient sky by using the same camera at Palomar Observatory. Last year Nugent and colleagues at Caltech and UC Berkeley made significant modifications to the transient detection pipeline for the iPTF project. Working with NERSC staff, Nugent upgraded the pipeline’s computing and storage hardware. The iPTF team also made improvements to the machine learning algorithms at the heart of the detection pipeline and incorporated the Sloan Digital Star Survey III star and galaxy catalogs so the pipeline could immediately reject known variable stars.

They even added an asteroid rejection feature to the automated workflow, which calculates the orbit of every known asteroid at the beginning of the night, determines where the asteroids are in an individual image, and then rejects them.

“All of our modifications significantly sped up our real-time transient detection; we now send high quality supernova alerts to astronomers all around the globe in less than 40 minutes after taking an image at Palomar,” says Nugent. “In the case of SN 2013cu, that made all the difference.”

Analyzing sun-like stars that eat Earth-like planets

Some Sun-like stars are ‘earth-eaters.’ During their development they ingest large amounts of the rocky material from which ‘terrestrial’ planets like Earth, Mars and Venus are made.

Trey Mack, a graduate student in astronomy at Vanderbilt University, has developed a model that estimates the effect that such a diet has on a star’s chemical composition and has used it to analyze a pair of twin stars which both have their own planets. The results of the study were published online on May 7 in the Astrophysical Journal.

“Trey has shown that we can actually model the chemical signature of a star in detail, element by element, and determine how that signature is changed by the ingestion of Earth-like planets,” said Vanderbilt Professor of Astronomy Keivan Stassun, who supervised the study. “After obtaining a high-resolution spectrum for a given star,

This ability will add substantially to astronomers’ understanding of the process of planet formation as well as assisting in the ongoing search for Earth-like exoplanets, according to the astronomers.

First, some background: Stars consist of more than 98 percent hydrogen and helium. All the other elements make up less than 2 percent of their mass. Astronomers have arbitrarily defined all the elements heavier than hydrogen and helium as metals and have coined the term “metallicity” to refer to the ratio of the relative abundance of iron to hydrogen in a star’s chemical makeup.

Since the mid-1990′s, when astronomers developed the capability to detect extrasolar planets in large numbers, there have been several studies that attempt to link star metallicity with planet formation. In one such study, researchers at Los Alamos National Laboratory argued that stars with high metallicity are more likely to develop planetary systems than those with low metallicity. Another study concluded that hot Jupiter-sized planets are found predominantly circling stars with high metallicity while smaller planets are found circling stars with a wide range of metal content.

Building on the work of coauthor Simon Schuler of the University of Tampa, who expanded the examination of stars’ chemical composition beyond their iron content, Mack looked at the abundance of 15 specific elements relative to that of the Sun. He was particularly interested in elements like aluminum, silicon, calcium and iron that have melting points higher than 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit (600 degrees Celsius) because these are the refractory materials that serve as building blocks for Earth-like planets.

we can actually detect that signature in detail, element by element.”

Mack, Schuler and Stassun decided to apply this technique to the planet-hosting binary pair designated HD 20781 and HD 20782. Both stars should have condensed out of the same cloud of dust and gas and so both should have started with the same chemical compositions. This particular binary pair is the first one discovered where both stars have planets of their own.

Both of the stars in the binary pair are G-class dwarf stars similar to the Sun. One star is orbited closely by two Neptune-size planets. The other possesses a single Jupiter-size planet that follows a highly eccentric orbit. The difference in their planetary systems make the two stars ideal for studying the connection between exoplanets and the chemical composition of their stellar hosts.

When they analyzed the spectrum of the two stars the astronomers found that the relative abundance of the refractory elements was significantly higher than that of the Sun. They also found that the higher the melting temperature of a particular element, the higher was its abundance, a trend that serves as a compelling signature of the ingestion of Earth-like rocky material. They calculated that each of the twins would have had to consume an additional 10-20 Earth-masses of rocky material to produce the chemical signatures. Specifically, the star with the Jupiter-sized planet appears to have swallowed an extra ten Earth masses while the star with the two Neptune-sized planets scarfed down an additional 20.

The results support the proposition that a star’s chemical composition and the nature of its planetary system are linked.

“Imagine that the star originally formed rocky planets like Earth. Furthermore, imagine that it also formed gas giant planets like Jupiter,” said Mack. “The rocky planets form in the region close to the star where it is hot and the gas giants form in the outer part of the planetary system where it is cold. However, once the gas giants are fully formed, they begin to migrate inward and, as they do, their gravity begins to pull and tug on the inner rocky planets.

“With the right amount of pulling and tugging, a gas giant can easily force a rocky planet to plunge into the star. If enough rocky planets fall into the star, they will stamp it with a particular chemical signature that we can detect.”

Following this logic, it is unlikely that either of the binary twins possesses terrestrial planets. On one star, the two Neptune-sized planets are orbiting the star quite closely, at one-third the distance between Earth and the Sun. On the other star the trajectory of the Jupiter-sized planet grazes the star, taking it closer than orbit of Mercury at the point of closest approach. The astronomers speculate that the reason the star with the two Neptune-size planets ingested more terrestrial material than its twin was because the two planets were more efficient at pushing material into their star than the single Jupiter-sized planet was at pushing material into its star.

If the chemical signature of G-class stars that swallow rocky planets proves to be universal, “when we find stars with similar chemical signatures, we will be able to conclude that their planetary systems must be very different from our own and that they most likely lack inner rocky planets,” said Mack. “And when we find stars that lack these signatures, then they are good candidates for hosting planetary systems similar to our own.”

Added Stassun: “This work reveals that the question of whether and how stars form planets is actually the wrong thing to ask. The real question seems to be how many of the planets that a star makes avoid the fate of being eaten by their parent star?”

The research was supported by National Science Foundation grants AAG AST-1009810 and PAARE AST-0849736.

NASA book: Space aliens might have created rock carvings

Rock Art possibly created by Space aliens

NASA book: Space aliens might have created rock carvings

Space aliens might have created rock carvings

Each month a new planet is discovered that bears similarities to our own – and it is becoming increasingly apparent Earth is not unique. So it stands to reason that of the billions of Earth-like planets in our galaxy alone, there might be another that hosts life.

It’s a thought that is gaining more credence all the time, and now Nasa has released a fascinating book detailing how, or if, we might communicate with some of these worlds. Some of the most interesting chapters tackle the issue of alien communication in the past, present and future.

‘If a radio signal is detected in a modern Seti experiment, we could well know that another intelligence exists, but not know what they are saying,’ he writes in the book’s introduction. He goes on to add: ‘Even if we detect a civilisation circling one of our nearest stellar neighbours, its signals will have traversed trillions of miles, reaching Earth after travelling for years.’

But, all hope is not lost – throughout the book Vakoch and his colleagues tackle these very problems, and provide solutions that may prove invaluable in the future. ‘To move beyond the mere detection of such intelligence, and to have any realistic chance of comprehending it, we can gain much from the lessons learned by researchers facing similar challenges on Earth,’ he continues.

‘Like archaeologists who reconstruct temporally distant civilisations from fragmentary evidence, Seti researchers will be expected to reconstruct distant civilisations separated from us by vast expanses of space as well as time.

‘As we attempt to decode and interpret extraterrestrial messages, we will be required to comprehend the mindset of a species that is radically Other.’ Elsewhere in the compendium the authors tackle the question of the possible biology, evolution and physics of an extraterrestrial race.

Vakoch explains how the methods via which aliens communicate might be vastly different from our own, making contact difficult. He says that messaging through sound, as we are used to on Earth, might not be possible.

‘On the other hand, vision and the use of images would appear to be at least plausible,’ he writes.

And, he adds, imaging the surface of habitable planets in the future might reveal ‘the physical arrangement of objects’ that suggests the presence of alien life. Edmondson suggests, for example, that ‘an optical telescope of diameter 620 miles (1,000 miles) could resolve an object of diameter one kilometre (0.62 miles) at a distance of 100 light-years.’

Vakoch concludes his introduction with the monumental task awaiting scientists and scholars across the world, but highlights the importance of these studies and research. ‘These scholars are grappling with some of the enormous challenges that will face humanity if an information-rich signal emanating from another world is detected,’ he writes.

‘By drawing on issues at the core of contemporary archaeology and anthropology, we can be much better prepared for contact with an extraterrestrial civilisation, should that day ever come.’

UFO mania: Was evidence of alien life on Mars was destroyed?

timthumb.jpgOpportunity rover in 2004 took an image of a fascinating structure on Mars that shows structural features that are consistent with organisms on Earth known as crinoids . . . Crinoids are echinoderms, like starfish . . . so these are animals! And I’m saying that Opportunity took a photograph on Mars that shows features that are consistent with what we know of crinoids . . . Now, the fascinating thing is here you have a possible fossil of a very interesting organism in a rock on Mars, and three hours and a half after that photograph was done, that rock was destroyed by the rock abrasion tool.

POSSIBLE ALIEN CRAFT CRASH IN BARSTOW CALIFORNIA

POSSIBLE ALIEN CRAFT CRASH IN BARSTOW CALIFORNIA

(Before It's News)

DECEMBER 12, 2009        BARSTOW CALIFORNIA

Residents of Barstow, CA are claiming there was an unidentified flying object (UFO) landing on a local highway on Saturday, Dec. 12, which has been sparking internet forum postings. The sighting was called to our attention by a reader Eric.  A relative of a witness reported on an internet forum God like productions.com about the sighting Saturday at 1:20 pm EST:  “My sister just received a call from her stepson from Barstow who attested that a UFO landed on one of the major highways there (presumeably Interstate 40 or 15). The UFO was surrounded by a team of black cars.

Witnesses are questioning whether this is a Government UFO or the ‘real thing.’ My sister is waiting for a return call from her stepson. I’ll give more details as they arrive.”  Today the same person, maya2012, wrote back to the forum after hearing more information from the sister:  “Her nephew called today. Apparently, the UFO landed (or crashed) off off the road early in the morning when it was still dark outside.  The police and black cars arranged themselves so that their headlights were facing outward, making it difficult for people to see what was happening. My nephew’s coworker took two pictures but they came out somewhat blurry. He stated that you could partially see the UFO in one picture.

My nephew doesn’t have the pictures, his coworker does. We’re still trying to get them. A large military transport was brought in to take the UFO back to the nearby military base.”  Whether the UFO was an alien spacecraft or a military plane is unknown.  If the UFO claims are true, there will probably be other Barstow residents reporting the sighting soon since it was on a highway.  It should be interesting to hear what other people from Barstow have to say about the sighting.

In the city of Barstow, California on December 12, 2009, residents see a low-flying UFO streaking across their neighborhoods.  The pre-dawn event included several witnesses seeing the object cross a highway and either land or crash in a deserted area.  Some residents decided to follow the path of the object and find out where it was and what had happened to the object.

Soon, they have visitors; a number of SUVs come speeding by, heading straight for the UFO. The residents come close enough to the unknown object to see the SUVs encircling the UFO.  Their headlights were pointing away from the object, blinding the onlookers from getting a good view of the scene. Soon, a flatbed truck arrives.  About 10 minutes later, the flatbed begins to leave the scene, accompanied by the SUVs. The residents see a tarp-covered object about the size of a VW bug.

Soon, the parade of vehicles is gone, leaving the residents at a loss as to what the object was and how the incident had transpired.  Reports were made to local law enforcement and the Air Force, but no information was gleaned from the sources.  NOTE: The above image is a rendering

The God Particle – Monumental Higgs Field Breakthrough – The Higgs Boson Particle 3D

The God Particle – Monumental Higgs Field Breakthrough – The Higgs Boson Particle 3D

(Before It's News)

The Higgs boson or Higgs particle is an elementary particle initially theorised in 1964, whose discovery was announced at CERN on 4 July 2012. The discovery has been called “monumental” because it appears to confirm the existence of the Higgs field, which is pivotal to the Standard Model and other theories within particle physics. It would explain why some fundamental particles have mass when the symmetries controlling their interactions should require them to be massless, and why the weak force has a much shorter range than the electromagnetic force. The discovery of a Higgs boson should allow physicists to finally validate the last untested area of the Standard Model’s approach to fundamental particles and forces, guide other theories and discoveries in particle physics, and potentially lead to developments in “new” physics.

This unanswered question in fundamental physics is of such importance that it led to a search of more than 40 years for the Higgs boson and finally the construction of one of the world’s most expensive and complex experimental facilities to date, the Large Hadron Collider, able to create Higgs bosons and other particles for observation and study. On 4 July 2012, it was announced that a previously unknown particle with a mass between 125 and 127 GeV/c2 (134.2 and 136.3 amu) had been detected; physicists suspected at the time that it was the Higgs boson. By March 2013, the particle had been proven to behave, interact and decay in many of the ways predicted by the Standard Model, and was also tentatively confirmed to have positive parity and zero spin, two fundamental attributes of a Higgs boson. This appears to be the first elementary scalar particle discovered in nature. More data is needed to know if the discovered particle exactly matches the predictions of the Standard Model, or whether, as predicted by some theories, multiple Higgs bosons exist.

The Higgs boson is named after Peter Higgs, one of six physicists who, in 1964, proposed the mechanism that suggested the existence of such a particle. Although Higgs’s name has come to be associated with this theory, several researchers between about 1960 and 1972 each independently developed different parts of it. In mainstream media the Higgs boson has often been called the “God particle”, from a 1993 book on the topic; the nickname is strongly disliked by many physicists, including Higgs, who regard it as inappropriate sensationalism. In 2013 two of the original researchers, Peter Higgs and François Englert, were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for their work and prediction Englert’s co-researcher Robert Brout had died in 2011, and except in unusual circumstances, the Nobel is not given posthumously.

In the Standard Model, the Higgs particle is a boson with no spin, electric charge, or color charge. It is also very unstable, decaying into other particles almost immediately. It is a quantum excitation of one of the four components of the Higgs field. The latter constitutes a scalar field, with two neutral and two electrically charged components, and forms a complex doublet of the weak isospin SU symmetry. The field has a “Mexican hat” shaped potential with nonzero strength everywhere (including otherwise empty space) which in its vacuum state breaks the weak isospin symmetry of the electroweak interaction. When this happens, three components of the Higgs field are “absorbed” by the SU and U gauge bosons (the “Higgs mechanism”) to become the longitudinal components of the now-massive W and Z bosons of the weak force. The remaining electrically neutral component separately couples to other particles known as fermions (via Yukawa couplings), causing these to acquire mass as well. Some versions of the theory predict more than one kind of Higgs fields and bosons. Alternative “Higgsless” models would have been considered if the Higgs boson were not discovered.

A team of scientists studying the afterglow of a gamma-ray burst tell us that their findings will re-write scientific theories. Using the Very Large Array Telescope, the team examined the afterglow of a gamma ray burst which mainstream astronomers assume is formed by a so-called shockwave. What they observed does not match the theoretical predictions of the standard model. Wal Thornhill tells listeners how the Electric Universe paradigm would view the findings.

Elongated Skulls and DNA Results

Elongated Skulls and DNA Results

(Before It's News)

B4INREMOTE-aHR0cDovLzEuYnAuYmxvZ3Nwb3QuY29tLy1VUHlxalRneVFXRS9VM3ZhS1FsTjRsSS9BQUFBQUFBQXRkdy9YUzZ1dFFvVi01RS9zMTYwMC9naWFudC5qcGc=

Kudos for those searching for answers about the elongated skulls in Peru. They are unique enough with their interparietal bones (os inca) that prove they were born to be shaped like this – not cradle-boarded.

The os inca bones were found on the “otamid” skull shapes in North America (referred to as primitive shapes) in certain tribes and odd skulls found in moundbuilder areas and Nevada as well as Texas coastline tribes and Baja tribes (see my slope-headed post). Their skulls were elongated looking, sloping forehead, strong brow ridge, and other unusual characteristics that led researchers to call them primitive looking and carnivorous looking.

Those who follow my ancient giants posts, know about these red-haired race of robust and tall people compared to other tribes.  The dried up lakes like in Nevada's Humboldt Sink and in this location in Peru create ideal conditions for preserving these remains.

Here is a video interview with Brien Foerster who led the mission with other researchers to finally get DNA results on these. It does amaze me that these were not tested by local authorities. But, then, look what happened to the “otamid”skulls in North America.

Brien describes these as robust large jaw, bone is strong and large where neck muscles attached, more powerful and complicated neck muscles, eye orbits bigger than normal, cranial capacity is 25-30% larger than homo sapiens.

DNA results so far:  Mitochondria – segments do not match anything in GenBank (holds cataloged results of every DNA documented on earth). Segments do not match anything in Homo sapiens and nothing in Neanderthal. This also explains why the skulls are shaped so oddly – they are not related. The skull tested is believed to be at least 2000 years ago as much as 3000 years ago. It might even be older, but researchers hadn't been studying them, assuming that they were cradle-boarded and that their look was cultural.

We already know that the term “Inca bone” came from these skulls of Peru who had interparietal bones naturally from birth, not from cradle boarding. Why did the locals choose to cradle board? My honest observation would be that they wished to look like the “gods,” these people who were much wiser, had advanced knowledge (having evolved earlier and settled the world). It's sort of like kids wanting to smoke to look like grownups or a girl wanting a butt implant to look like a Kardashian.

What might all this mean? It seems to be a step closer to my theory that man first developed from homo erectus lineage in Asia and Indonesia and spread out by land to places like Georgia, France, and the future British Isles and by sea through the South Pacific, to South America and eventually up to North America, way ahead of the homo sapiens who had yet to emerge from Mitochondrial Eve in Africa and leave to spread around the world in the last 100,000 years, coming upon these advanced cultures and getting their jump in knowledge that some desperate researchers would like to attribute to a high protein diet (I understand lions eat a lot of protein too).

There are legends of these giants in all cultures including the Bible and, in fact, those who follow that text would find it reassuring to know that their Lord flooded the world to obliterate this first cannibalistic race in favor of one that showed compassion and intelligence both.

When we toss giants into the mix as the original earthly race hundreds of thousands of years before us, suddenly the desperate explanation of ancient aliens playing tinker toys with boulders is finally discarded.  As well, human sacrifice might be explained by appeasement to the cannibalistic “gods.” When you stack onto that a unifying universal language adopted around the globe, stone megaliths, metal works, weaving and other technology that happened simultaneously for us homo sapiens as we arrived in giant territory and learned from their already established knowledge, now we're talking seamless explanation.

Suddenly, the world makes sense. The greater mystery now is, who were they a lineage of? Several forms of homo erectus hybridized?  And, what became of them? War uprising by homo sapiens?

I highly recommend Brien Foerster's books.

Museum of National Mystery

Museum of National Mystery

(Before It's News)

Museum of National Mystery

MUSEUM OF NATIONAL MYSTERY

There’s an apocryphal quote attributed to Ben Franklin that says, “One can tell the morals of a culture by the way they treat their dead.”

When it comes to the victims of the September 11th, 2001 attacks, we have to stop and ponder whether or not we have treated them with respect and why they continue to be exploited politically and why now they are merchandized like some trinket in a drugstore knickknack isle.

Nearly 3,000 people were killed at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. Now we are told that they are being honored at a museum, President Obama called the site of the memorial and museum “this sacred place.”

Now, people aren’t so sure about the sacred, because of the money changing going in at ‘ground zero’.

As the Gothamist reported, “The National 9/11 Museum opened to the public [May 21], with dozens of museum employees on hand to assist visitors through exhibits, numerous Red Cross workers and chaplains eager to help those who needed comfort… President Obama dedicated the museum last week in a special ceremony that was by invite only. There were mostly politicians and a few of the victim’s families in attendance.”

And, of course, select members of the media – which did not include that Gothamist reporter who was actually thrown out.

But those honored visitors were told to leave because only the VIPs, which included former Mayor Michael Bloomberg, were allowed back inside for a black-tie cocktail reception, the NY Daily news said. It is said later this summer there will be a family restaurant opening up in the facility.

The creepiness here is evident, the cocktail soiree was being held on the site where it is believed many of the victim’s remains are still buried and many people feel that it is also a bit sick to open a restaurant on the site.

The museum’s cocktail hour took place near the “remains repository,” where 8,000 unidentified body parts are being stored.

Now that it has opened to the public, there are mixed feelings about the museum. While some see it as a place where people can reflect on the tragedy, some see it as politically exploitative and not as dignifying as maybe a wall with names or a monument.

Again, our censored Gothamist reporter noted: “There’s a warning in front of the entrance, “The exhibition may not be appropriate for visitors 10 years old and younger. Adults accompanying younger visitors should exercise discretion before entering.””

Upon arrival, the scene is set up like a Halloween spook alley in a posh library. Scorched car doors, salvaged firefighters’ uniforms, banners, toys, and a destroyed fire engine are preserved forever and on display at the museum.

The museum itself was designed to look like a fallen and crumples tower as it is set on the ground next to trees and a reflecting pool. Inside the building are numerous columns and beams that did not melt in the extreme heat that the two planes allegedly generated on that day.

In an area that looks like an airport terminal, there are two columns that represent a double trident.

As the official WTC.com site says: “These seven-story steel structures were part of the original façade of the Twin Towers at the World Trade Center, once forming the distinctive Gothic arch motif at the base of the skyscrapers. The forked columns are so large that the Museum Pavilion’s structure will be built around them.”

We discussed the significance of the trident and the frequency of its appearance in the year 2014 on the March 21 broadcast of Ground Zero.

In the Ground Zero article ‘Triquetra II: Loosed From His Prison‘, the trident is a symbol taken from the underworld. The trident is also known as the devil’s pitchfork and has been associated directly with Atlantis and the god of the depths Poseidon.

As MythsOfChristianity.com informs: “The three-pronged pitchfork is the trident of Poseidon, the Greek god of water. The trident was a powerful weapon capable of stirring the waters to fury and in the ancient epic, the Odyssey, Poseidon was the foe of the hero Odysseus, constantly wrecking his ships and thwarting his attempts to return home.”

For many centuries, the original symbol of Poseidon and his powerful three-pronged staff eventually evolved into the devil that lived in depths of the earth.

Poseidon has also developed a relationship with the great beast or Leviathan of prophecy that rises from the sea in the final days before judgment.

People who have already toured the 9/11 Museum commented on the double trident and how it towers above the museum and how it cast some eerie occult symbolism.

There have also been comparisons that have already been made to the Holocaust Museum and there have been many complaints about how graphic and horrific it is.

The museum is said to be difficult to walk through and the photographs of the victims are said to be so devastating to people that they turn away either repulsed or emotionally devastated.

The displays are said to be very indicative of the scale of destruction, with the wrecked fire engines and World Trade Center elevator motor, is also distressing. There are audio recordings that are particularly harrowing, including a 911 call from someone on the 106th floor that of course is worried that he is going to die.

In the heart of the museum is a video gallery showing the burning towers news reports and people jumping out of buildings.

There are many people that have many ideas of what this museum is about, and why it was even erected in the first place. The 9/11 Museum is a for-profit museum and it has a gift shop where people say the souvenirs are grim and are in poor taste.

It is a tricky proposal to memorialize a tragedy, but this is really beginning to look like an attempt to turn the 9/11 tragedy into a commodity.

For years, the United States government has used the victims of 9/11 as an excuse to fuel their war efforts and there is really no honor in that little enterprise. As you may already realize, there is some outrage over what is being sold at the gift shop.
911museum47
For $64.00 you can purchase survival tree earrings and $39.00 gets you a hoodie emblazoned with an image of the towers. There is also a collectable cheese plate you can purchase as well.

Victims’ families didn’t ask for this, they didn’t expect their family members to be important deaths for eternity and have their remains in a containment hold piled behind a locked door in a museum that doubles as a mausoleum with an adjacent Shake Shack.

It wasn’t enough that these victims were used for the battle cry to invade Afghanistan and Iraq, now they are bankable for commemorative shirts and hoodies. The building’s ornate design can now be seen on a commemorative necktie and bath towel.

It is also interesting to know that the executives and directors of the 9/11 Museum are making six figure incomes while many family members still are struggling to live day-to-day.

According to ‘9/11 Museum Museum Bigs Cash In‘, a January 2011 report from the NY Post:

“Schoolchildren thought their penny jars and bake-sale proceeds would go toward building a 9/11 memorial at Ground Zero — not the six-figure salaries of nonprofit execs.

But 11 staffers at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum each pulled down more than $170,000 in total compensation in 2009, according to the most recent filings. Four execs took home more than $320,000.

Foundation President Joseph Daniels, 38, pocketed $371,307 after receiving hefty raises three years in a row — 28 percent in 2006, when he was promoted from acting president, followed by 12 percent and 6 percent.

Museum director Alice Greenwald made $351,000, and capital planning Vice President Joan Gerner soaked up $337,143 before leaving last spring. Development director Cathy Blaney raked in $322,292. The full-time foundation employee also worked last year as a fund-raiser for Gov. Cuomo’s election campaign.

The money to pay the $5.3 million in compensation for the foundation’s 87 staffers in 2009 came from private donations — $220 million raised in a Herculean grass-roots effort to honor the 2,974 victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, and $150 million from blue-ribbon board members. More than 60,000 individuals in all 50 states and 31 countries donated to the cause.”

Now that the museum is open to the public, the hefty salaries are paid through the selling of tchotchkes at a gift shop that has been built over the dead bodies of 9/11 victims.

They say that, “this is America, what do you expect.” I expect a little more dignity and less political pomp and merchandizing at a place that is supposed to be tribute to those who died.

The question is, is this a dignified way to treat the victims of the 9/11 attacks and have we pushed the envelope too far by treating 9/11 like the Jewish holocaust?

It is being called a crass commercial enterprise. The sickness people are feeling as they walk through the museum is not only buffered by the horrors of 9/11, but by the sick sense that that something very evil is taking place upon sacred ground.

Would you have a picnic at a crematorium? Probably not; however, at the 9/11 Museum you can listen to those unbearable last-words-to-loved-ones recordings, look at bloodied shoes and falling-body images – and then eat comfort food and be offered a cocktail.

Would it be prudent to sell to family member’s trinkets made from the pulverized metal and bones at the site? Just as well sell commemorative sausage at the venue, there is nothing to sick or twisted that the museum won’t exploit.

VIDEO: Mysterieus object gespot boven Canadese ijsberg

Strange Septembers: The Hill Abduction & The Exeter Encounter

Strange Septembers

"Live Free or Die" is the official state motto of New Hampshire, but the phrase also could have served as the mantra for the 1960s, an era well-documented as one of monumental cultural shifts and indelible social change. Two less-celebrated events, which occurred in New Hampshire in the early and middle parts of the decade, were both earth-shaking in their own right. They did not entail demonstrations. Or happenings. Or rock concerts. They involved UFOs. Extraterrestrials. And human beings. The down-to-earth details behind these two otherworldly events are explored in the new documentary film, Strange Septembers: The Hill Abduction & The Exeter Encounter.

Based on interviews with the likes of legendary actor, James Earl Jones (who played Barney Hill in the 1975 film, The UFO Incident), groundbreaking ufologist, Stanton Friedman (civilian researcher who helped define the Roswell Incident), author/lecturer Kathleen Marden (niece of Betty and Barney Hill), and Thomas Muscarello (brother of Norman Muscarello), the film attempts to decipher the mysteries surrounding the twin peaks of New Hampshire UFO cases: the September 19, 1961 abduction of Betty and Barney Hill, and the September 3, 1965 close encounter of Norman Muscarello, Eugene Bertrand, and David Hunt.

2013 Canadian UFO Survey, Take Me To Your Leader Eh!

2013 Canadian UFO Survey, Take Me|   To Your Leader Eh!

The 2013 Canadian UFO Survey marks the 25th anniversary of collecting and analysing Canadian UFO report data by Ufology Research. A quarter century of quality analysis and commentary on the fascinating field of Canadian Ufology is complete.

Since 1989, Ufology Research (formerly Ufology Research of Manitoba) has solicited UFO case data from known and active investigators and researchers in Canada. The goal has been to provide data for use by researchers trying to understand this controversial phenomenon. No comparable studies are currently produced by any other research group in North America. Similar programs exist in several other countries such as Sweden, where UFO report data is analysed by the Archives for UFO Research, and in Italy by Centro Italiano Studi Ufologici.

The 2013 Canadian UFO Survey: Summary of Results

  • There were 1,180 UFO sightings reported in Canada in 2013, or about three each day.
  • The number of cases in 2013 is the second-highest number of UFO sightings recorded in Canada during the last 25 years.
  • The 1,180 UFO cases reported in 2013 is much less than the peak year of 2012, when almost 2,000 reports were recorded. We suspect this was an anomaly, and likely due to many people excited about the so-called “end of the world” in 2012 according to the Mayan Calendar.
  • In 2013, Ontario had more than 40 per cent of all Canadian UFO reports.
  • In 2013, about 14 per cent of all UFO reports were classified as unexplained.
  • The typical UFO sighting lasted approximately 13 minutes in 2013.

Results of this study show that many people continue to report unusual objects in the sky, and some of these objects do not have obvious explanations. Many witnesses are pilots, police and other individuals with reasonably good observing capabilities and good judgement.

Numbers of reported UFO sightings remain high. Several theories for this can be suggested: more UFOs are present and physically observable by witnesses; more secret or classified military exercises and overflights are occurring over populated areas; more people are unaware of the nature of conventional or natural objects in the sky; more people are taking the time to observe their surroundings; more people are able to report their sightings with easier access to the Internet and portable technology; or even that the downturn in the economy is leading to an increased desire by some people to look skyward for assistance.

Although the largest percentage of reported UFOs is simply lights in the night sky, a small number are objects with definite shapes observed within the witnesses’ frame of reference.

Popular opinion to the contrary, there is no incontrovertible evidence that some UFO cases involve extraterrestrial contact. The continued reporting of UFOs by the public and the yearly increase in numbers of UFO reports suggests a need for further examination of the phenomenon by social, medical and/or physical scientists.

The number of UFO reports per year has varied, although there has been a general trend towards a steady increase in yearly UFO report numbers over 25 years, with spikes in some years such as 1993, 2008 and 2013, when there were almost 2,000 reports in one year. Although there may be a perceived notion that UFOs are not being reported with as much frequency as in the past, this is not true. UFOs have not “gone away.” This data clearly contradicts comments by those who would assert that UFOs are a ‘passing fad’ or that UFO sightings are decreasing.

In 2013, Ontario had about 41 per cent of the total number of UFO sightings reported in Canada, the most reports of any province, and exactly the same percentage as in both 2011 and 2012. British Columbia was second, with about 25 per cent of the total. If UFO reporting was simply a factor of population, one would expect percentages of 37 per cent for Ontario and 13 per cent for BC.

Monthly breakdowns of reports during each year tend to show slightly different patterns. UFO reports are generally thought to peak in summer and are at minimum in winter, presumably due to the more pleasant observing conditions during the summer months, when more witnesses are outside. In Canada in 2013, July and August numbers were again high, but report numbers were unusually high in January as well.

An analysis by report type shows a similar breakdown to that found in previous years. The percentage of cases of a particular type remains roughly constant from year to year, with some variations. Proportionally, Daylight Discs increased significantly in 2013, but most cases still were Nocturnal Lights.

Just under two per cent of all reported UFO cases in 2013 were Close Encounters, emphasizing the reality that very few UFO cases involve anything other than distant objects seen in the sky. This is an important statistic, because the current popular interest in abductions and sensational UFO encounters is based not on the vast majority of UFO cases but on the very tiny fraction of cases which fall into the category of close encounters. Speculation on what aliens may or may not be doing in our airspace seems almost completely unconnected to what are actually being reported as UFOs.

The types of sightings vary in 2013 , a summary follows with totals:

NL (Nocturnal Light) – light source in night sky - 631

ND (Nocturnal Disc) – light source in night sky that appears to have a definite shape - 333

DD (Daylight Disc) – unknown object observed during daytime hours - 145

C1 (Close Encounter of the First Kind) – ND or DD occurring within 200 metres of a witness – 9

C2 (Close Encounter of the Second Kind) – C1 where physical effects left or noted – 4

C3 (Close Encounter of the Third Kind) – C1 where figures/entities are encountered – 3

C4 (Close Encounter of the Fourth Kind) – an alleged “abduction” or “contact” experience – 3

The hourly distribution of cases has usually followed a similar pattern every year, with a peak at 2200 hours local and a trough around 0900 hours local. Since most UFOs are nocturnal lights, most sightings will occur during the evening hours. Since the number of possible observers drops off sharply near midnight, we would expect the hourly rate of UFO reports would vary with two factors: potential observers and darkness.

Duration of events is interesting in that it represents the subjective length of time the UFO experience lasted. In other words, this is the length of time the sighting lasted as estimated by the witness. Naturally, these times are greatly suspect because it is known that most people tend to badly misjudge the flow of time. Although an estimate of “one hour” may be in error by several minutes, it is unlikely that the true duration would be, for example, one minute. Furthermore, there have been cases when a UFO was observed and clocked very accurately, so that we can be reasonably certain that UFO events can last considerable periods of time.

The average duration of UFO sightings in Canada in 2013 was 13.5 minutes, similar to 2012 when the average duration was about 15 minutes. These significant lengths of time suggest some simple explanations. Previous analyses have shown that long-duration sightings tend to occur in the early morning hours, from about midnight until 6:00 a.m.

The duration of a sighting is one of the biggest clues to its explanation. Experience in studying UFO reports has shown us that short duration events are usually fireballs or bolides, and long duration events of an hour or more are very probably astronomical objects moving slowly with Earth’s rotation.

In cases where colours of an object were reported by witnesses, the most common colour in 2013 was orange, similar to previous years. The next most common colours were red, white and “multi-coloured.” Since most UFOs are nocturnal starlike objects, the abundance of white objects is not surprising. Colours such as red, orange, blue and green often are associated with bolides (fireballs). Orange is most often associated with the observation of a Chinese lanterns, the launching of which became popular during the past few years. The ‘multicoloured’ designation is problematic in that it literally covers a wide range of possibilities. This label has been used, for example, when witnesses described their UFOs as having white, red and green lights. Many of these are certainly stars or planets, which flash a variety of colours when seen low on the horizon. Aircraft also frequently are described as having more than one colour of light, such as flashing coloured wing lights. However, seen from a distance, aircraft will often be visible only as moving white lights.

The average number of witnesses per case is approximately 2.00. This value has fluctuated between a high of 2.4 in 1996 to as low as 1.4 in 1990. In 2011, the average number of witnesses per case was 1.74, and the value in 2012 remained about the same, at 1.79. In 2013, the average number of witnesses per sighting was 1.71.

This indicates that the typical UFO experience has more than one witness, and supports the contention that UFO sightings represent observations of real, physical phenomena, since there is usually at least one corroborator present to support the sighting.

Witnesses’ descriptions of the shapes of UFOs vary greatly. In 2013, about 54 per cent were of “point sources”—that is, “starlike” objects or distant lights, about the same as previous years. The classic “flying saucer” or disc-shaped object comprised only around five per cent of all UFO reports in 2013, contrary to popular opinion. Even the “triangle” shape, which some ufologists have suggested has supplanted the classic “saucer,” was only five percent of the total in 2013.

The shape of a perceived object depends on many factors such as the witness’ own visual acuity, the angle of viewing, the distance of viewing and the witness’ own biases and descriptive abilities. Nevertheless, in combination with other case data such as duration, shape can be a good clue towards a UFO’s possible explanation.

The assigning of a Strangeness rating to a UFO report is based on a classification adopted by researchers who noted that the inclusion of a subjective evaluation of the degree to which a particular case is initself unusual might yield some insight into the data. For example, the observation of a single, stationary, starlike light in the sky, seen for several hours, is not particularly unusual and might likely have a prosaic explanation such as that of a star or planet. On the other hand, a detailed observation of a saucer-shaped object which glides slowly away from a witness after an encounter with grey-skinned aliens would be considered highly strange.

The numbers of UFO reports according to strangeness rating show an inverse relationship such that the higher the strangeness rating, the fewer reports. The one exception to this relationship occurs in the case of very low strangeness cases, which are relatively few in number compared to those of moderate strangeness. It is suggested this is the case because in order for an observation to be considered a UFO, it must usually rise above an ad hoc level of strangeness, otherwise it would not be considered strange at all.

The average strangeness rating for UFO reports during 2013 was 3.67, up from the 2012 average of 3.21, where 1 is considered not strange at all and 9 is considered exceptionally unusual. Most UFOs reported are of objects which do not greatly stretch the imagination. Hollywood-style flying saucers are, in reality, relatively uncommon in UFO reports. The overall Strangeness rating of Canadian UFO reports has been sliding slightly over time.

The average Reliability rating of Canadian UFO reports in 2013 was 3.8, down significantly from an average of 4.6 in 2012. In most years, there are approximately the same number of higher quality cases as those of low quality. However, in 2013, more reports had minimal information on the witness, little or no investigation and incomplete data or description of the object(s) observed.  Higher reliability cases include actual interviews with witnesses, a detailed case investigation, multiple witnesses, supporting documentation and other evidence. Since data for many cases are taken from websites and second-handpostings, or in fact self-postings, there is usually no significant investigation of UFO sightings. Well-investigated cases likely comprise only a small fraction of all UFO data, a fact that makes posted UFO case data have limited value.

Reliability and Strangeness ratings tend to vary in classic bell-shaped curves. In other words, there are very few cases which were both highly unusual and well-reported. Most cases are of medium strangeness and medium reliability. These are the “high-quality unknowns” which will be discussed in a later section of this study. However, there are also very few low-strangeness cases with low reliability. Low-strangeness cases, therefore, tend to be well-reported and probably have explanations.

UFO data used in this study were supplied by many different groups, organizations, official agencies and private individuals. Since this annual survey began in the late 1980s, more and more cases have been obtained and received via the Internet.

About 32 per cent of Canadian cases in 2013 were reported to the large organization known as the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), which has a good online reporting system. Traditionally, the lion’s share of reports used as data came through Sightings.com, which has been relaying UFO cases reported through the former Houston, BC, Centre for UFOs (HBCCUFO), with about 32 per cent in 2010 and 35 per cent in 2011, but up to 45 per cent in 2012 and down to 24 per cent in 2013. The decline in 2013 was due to HBCCUFO scaling down its activity.

In 2013, about nine per cent of the total cases were obtained through the private and non-profit National UFO Reporting Center in the USA. Like MUFON, NUFORC has a toll-free telephone number for reporting UFOs and a large sightings list created through voluntary submission of online report forms by witnesses.

About five per cent of all UFO sightings reported in 2013 were sent directly to Ufology Research.

Less than one per cent of all cases came as a result of information obtained through Transport Canada and the Department of National Defence.

It should be noted that the preparation of this Survey is becoming quite challenging. Few UFO investigators or researchers actually submit case data to UFOROM anymore, requiring considerable searching of online sources. And, although many sites post information about UFO sightings, very little actual UFO investigation is being conducted. In fact, it could be said that the science of UFO investigation has nearly become extinct. This does not bode well for an area of study that is under constant criticism by debunkers wishing to prove the unscientific nature of the subject.

In 2013, the percentage of Unknowns was 14.5 per cent. There were 172 Unknowns out of 1,180 total cases in 2013.

If we look only at the Unknowns with a Strangeness of 6 or greater and a Reliability rating of 6 or greater, we are left with 48 high-quality Unknowns in 2013 (about four per cent of the total). This is in line with previous studies, such as USAF Blue Book, which found three to four per cent of their cases were “excellent” Unknowns. As it is, these 48 Canadian cases in 2013 can be reduced further by eliminating those in which investigation is not complete or details not made available for outside evaluation.

It should be emphasized again that even high-quality Unknowns do not imply alien visitation. Each case may still have an explanation following further investigation. And of those that remain unexplained, they may remain unexplained, but still are not incontrovertible proof of extraterrestrial intervention or some mysterious natural phenomenon.

The interpretation of the 172 Unknowns in 2013 is that these cases were among the most challenging of all the reports received. It should be noted that most UFO cases go unreported, and that there may be ten times as many UFO sightings that go unreported as those which get reported to public, private or military agencies. Furthermore, it should be noted that some cases with lower reliability ratings suffer only from incomplete investigations, and that they may well be more mysterious than those on the list of Unknowns. And, above all, these cases are not proof of extraterrestrial visitation.

The increase in the numbers of UFO reports with time likely does not have a simple explanation. It could be related to a growing awareness within the general population that there are agencies which collect UFO reports. It could be that there really are more UFOs physically present in the sky. It could be that the collection of UFO data is becoming more efficient. It could be that there are more private websites allowing or inviting people to report their UFO sightings. While media have been noted as playing a definite role in UFO waves (a national increase in UFO sightings), media coverage of UFO reports has significantly declined over the past decade while the number of reports has risen. Perhaps a cultural factor is at work as well, where “aliens” and UFOs are now well-entrenched within the societal mindset and are accepted as more probable than fiction. This question by itself is deserving of scientific study.

A Real Fairy Sighting in North Carolina

A Real Fairy Sighting in North Carolina

(Before It's News)

Chimney Rock, the place of real fairy sightings
Chimney Rock, the place of real fairy sightings

When we think of fairies, most of us immediately think of pixies, gnomes, or leprechauns from Ireland. Most of us have no clue that dozens of the Native American tribes in the United States believed in the “little people”, just as the Europeans did for many centuries. In fact, there have been real fairy sightings in the United States for hundreds of years. Some real fairy sightings have occurred in the past couple of years, right here in America. Nonsense, some might say. But if the non-believer would travel back in time to a year when nature was still Queen of the Earth, that non-believer would meet people all over the world (even right here in the United States) who not only believed in fairies but have had many real fairy encounters. To the Cherokee tribe, the little people were just as real as you and I.

The Cherokee tribe of the North Carolina mountains believed in different types of fairies, including the moon-eyed people, laurel people, and more. Of course they had their own Cherokee names for the little people which sounded a lot different than the names presented above. And just as the Irish and Scottish believed that fairies could be benevolent and also mischievous, so did the Cherokee. In many cases, they believed that the fairies were nature spirits who guarded the mountain and the wildlife living on the mountain. Some stories tell of the fairies actually helping the Cherokee on hunting trips, while other stories depict a different type of fairy that liked to play tricks on the Cherokee hunters by tripping them, et cetera.

Many of the real fairy sightings that the Cherokee tribes experienced for many years have been forgotten or not handed down, but I’ll bet if you ask the right person some real fairy sighting stories still exist among the Cherokee tribe. There is one story of Chimney Rock in North Carolina of a real fairy sighting that happened in the late 1800s, and it was experienced by more than one person. All of whom were not Cherokee Natives but were Caucasian villagers.

(Just as a pre-cursor to this real fairy sighting story, I believe I have a few minor details incorrect as far as the sequence but the meat & plot of the story is true.)

There was a professor (a man of reasonable logic) in 1891 who was working in his home when there came a knock at the door. A few children had pleaded with the professor to come to the side of Chimney Rock mountain to see the “people floating around on the side of the mountain”. The professor ended up dismissing this cry for help as simply a prank being done to amuse the children on a boring Summer’s day. But then, a few minutes later, another knock came at his door. This time it wasn’t the mischievous children but an older woman who lived in the village. She was also pleading with him to come and see the “ghosties” on the side of Chimney Rock mountain. At this point he decided he would accompany the old woman to Chimney Rock to assure her that there was no supernatural thing floating on the side of the mountain.

But when he got there, he saw it. There were dozens of bright beings flying around the side of the mountain…right there on the side of Chimney Rock! He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Was he witnessing a real fairy sighting? These beings were bright and all wearing white gowns, they looked like humans but were flying. There was dozens of these fairies, even appeared to be men, women, and children. It was a sight that he never dreamed of seeing in all of his years. Many more people from the village went that day to see the real fairies or little people, some in later years claiming they were indeed angels, and the story lived on for years afterwards at Chimney Rock. In my honest opinion, I believe they had a real fairy encounter that day though many religious people don’t want to attribute the sighting to real fairies but would rather say they were angels at this point. Such a shame, really.

While a real angel encounter would be a thing of wonderful magnitude, a real fairy sighting at Chimney Rock just seems to fit easier with the Cherokee legends of the little people and real fairies that have circulated that area for hundreds of years.

What do you think? Do you think the Cherokee were right when it came to real fairy sightings in the Chimney Rock park area? There was no way dozens of people had the same mirage or hallucination, especially since the mirage or hallucination lasted for hours that day. And if they were all poisoned or on drugs of some nature, why would they see the exact same thing? I’d like to hear your thoughts on this real fairy sighting. You probably already know what I believe.

Daily 2 Cents: Purple Jellyfish…Possible New Species — Strange Occurrences Around Our House — US Government / Alien Alliance?

Purple jellyfish with multiple mouths could be new species

Scientists believe a bright purple jellyfish covered in tiny mouths that has washed up on a beach in Queensland, Austarlia, could be an undiscovered species. The extraordinary colour of the creature has baffled marine experts, who are now trying to determine the species, which sadly died during analysis.

“It’s straight out of science fiction,” said marine biologist Dr Lisa Gershwin. “It’s an electric, vibrant, ‘wow’ purple.” She said the tentacles, or oral arms, were about a metre long and covered in microscopic mouths. Lifeguards on the sunshine coast found the jellyfish at Coolum beach on Wednesday morning and handed it over to scientists at nearby Underwater World.

Gershwin believed the jellyfish could be a thysanostoma, but said the species was normally brown or beige. “It begs the question, if it’s such a vibrant, different colour, what other features does it have?” Gershwin, from the CSIRO marine and atmospheric research centre, said. The plot thickened on Thursday, with pictures emerging of a second specimen from Ballina in northern New South Wales.

Dr Gershwin said it was possible the jellyfish had arrived in Australia in the ballast of a ship. If it is a species known as a thysanostoma, it could have come from the Red Sea, Malaysia or the Philippines. “The reason we haven’t been able to progress this is because the literature is in German and from the 1800s,’’ she said. “No work has been done on this since then. I’m getting the papers translated by a native German speaker. We need to find out if it’s new to science and, if it is, why it hasn’t been seen before. If it’s not from here, we need to work out where it came from and how it got here.’’ – news.com.au

Strange Occurrences Around Our House

Hi I am seeking some advice. For some background my wife and I have lived in this apartment for 4 years and 3 months ago brought home our newborn baby boy. Over the last few weeks we have had some strange occurrences centered around our bedroom.

The first thing we noticed when our son was laying in the bed was him staring at a blank spot on the ceiling. Sometimes he smiles or makes sounds while looking at this spot, which is in front of a wall mirror we have. We kind of joked that he was looking at an invisible friend but he does it all the time when he is in our room, sometimes he will kind of track across the ceiling with his eyes like he is looking at something. It’s a little creepy but what has happened the last few nights have freaked my wife out a bit.

A few nights ago I woke up from a vivid nightmare. I was sleeping on the couch because I snore sometimes and my wife was sleeping in our room with the baby. I noticed the house felt hot so I went into her room and noticed the thermostat turned up and I could smell the heater and hear it ticking on, so I turned it down because it is warming up for summer here and it was pretty warm in the room. I didn’t think much of it and turned on some Netflix and fell asleep.

The night before last my wife wakes me up and asks if I turned up the heat. It was really warm in the room and once again the heater was turned up mysteriously. This happened AGAIN last night and it’s pretty weird. Neither of us have any history of sleepwalking and the thermostat is not an automatic one, it has to be manually adjusted.

The other thing to note is that I have been awoken from vivid nightmares almost every night for the last two weeks. This usually happens at about 3 am exactly which I know is regarded as one of the witching hours. I’ve always had trouble sleeping and have had periods of vivid dreams and nightmares in the past but not for years. I attribute these to the stress of having a new baby and my worries but I thought it was worth mentioning.

My wife and I have had a handful of unexplained, possible paranormal experiences in our lives between the two of us. Does anyone here have any thoughts or advice for us? – Reddit.com

L.A. Dodgers Release Ear-Biter

Miguel Olivo was released by the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday, two days after biting off a piece of Triple-A Albuquerque teammate Alex Guerrero’s left ear during a dugout brawl.

Olivo, a veteran catcher, and Guerrero, the highly paid Cuban second base prospect, fought during the Isotopes game at Salt Lake on Tuesday. The Dodgers suspended Olivo on Wednesday while they conducted an investigation.

“It’s unimaginable, inconceivable and unforgivable,” Dodgers President Stan Kasten said at Citi Field before the Dodgers played the New York Mets. “It’s not a question of fault. The action of removing a part of someone’s ear is unforgivable. Fault is not an issue here.”

The 27-year-old Guerrero had reconstructive surgery on his ear and there is no timetable for his return, Kasten said. The Dodgers executive said he was told Olivo bit off a significant chunk from the top of Guerrero’s ear.

The Dodgers should have a better idea of how long Guerrero will be out by Sunday, Kasten said. Kasten also said there was no decision yet on whether Guerrero will file criminal charges.

Olivo will not face discipline from the commissioner’s office because the Dodgers terminated his contract. Under the collective bargaining agreement, either the club or Major League Baseball can discipline a player, not both. – AP

Did the US Government Make a Pact With Aliens to Get Technology?

Phil Schneider was vocal before his death about what he says he learned about aliens while working under a high-level security clearance for the U.S. government. Epoch Times does not make any claims as to the veracity of his story, but rather presents his extraordinary claims for the reader’s entertainment and contemplation.

Schneider met with ridicule from many, but there are also many who believe him after watching his videos, such as Veterans Today senior editor Gordon Duff who calls him a “UFO whistleblower.” Schneider was found dead in his apartment in 1996. Though it was ruled a suicide, some believe he was murdered.

In 1954, then-President Dwight Eisenhower made a pact with three species of aliens, said Schneider in a lecture at the 1995 Preparedness Expo. In exchange for alien technology, Eisenhower allegedly gave aliens permission to abduct some cattle and a limited number of human beings.

For decades livestock have been found inexplicably mutilated across the United States. More than 10,000 attacks have been recorded throughout the country, according to KLAS-TV Las Vegas. Some say these mutilations are done by cultists. Some say it’s predatory animals, although livestock have been found with their organs removed in a precise manner. Some say it’s aliens.

As for human abductees, Schneider said many of the thousands of people missing worldwide may have been taken by aliens. He said there are nine races of aliens that see a human being as “a bag of food.”

The technology aliens gave to uphold their end of this exchange includes a kind of metal that is nearly indestructible. Schneider showed the audience what he said was a piece of this metal. It is made of niobium, an element we have on the periodic table, and marinite, an alien element you won’t find mentioned in Earth’s textbooks.

He said the government also developed a spy satellite with the help of aliens that could spot a dime on your kitchen floor. It used infrared technology and had a resolution factor of 99.99961.

The aliens violated the pact, said Schneider, by taking more humans than agreed upon. A war with the aliens has been fought ever since. He said the aliens plan to take over Earth by 2029 and he called on the government to tell citizens what it knows.

He said: “We don’t have a whole heap of time left.” – The Epoch Times

The House Science Committee Has Held More Hearings on Aliens Than on Climate Change

Congress is fascinated by the search for intelligent life on other planets. Apparently, they’ve given up the search at home.

In this session of Congress, House committees tasked with covering U.S. energy and science have held a total of seven hearings to discuss climate change. By contrast, the two chambers have held a combined 19 hearings about space exploration in that same time period.

The House Science, Space, and Technology Committee—led by Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas, since 2013—has held 15 hearings on space exploration alone, at least three of which have involved the search for extraterrestrial life. By comparison, Smith’s committee has held just two hearings devoted to climate change.

The Democrat-controlled Senate doesn’t have a much better record. The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee has held three hearings this session on climate change, while the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee has not had a hearing devoted to the topic since 2012. The Senate Commerce Science and Space Subcommittee has had one hearing about climate change and four about space.

On the House side, the House Energy and Commerce Committee hosted one solitary hearing about climate change, and the House Natural Resources Committee has not had a hearing on climate change in the 113th Congress.

In a House Science Committee hearing Wednesday, Seth Shostak, an American astronomer, defended the notion that the search for alien life is worthwhile. He pointed out that NASA’s Kepler mission has found there are trillion of planets in our galaxy, including many planets that could hypothetically support life.

“It’s very easy to make fun of this,” Shostak said. “On the other hand, it would have been very easy to make fun of Ferdinand Magellan’s idea to sail around the earth, or Captain Cook to map the South Pacific.”

And make fun of it the committee members did. Rep. Bill Johnson, R-Ohio, joked that extraterrestrial societies may be actively avoiding contact with earthlings. “Maybe they’ve got their caller ID turned on or something,” Johnson said.

Rep. Chris Collins, R-New York, joined the fun. ”I’m going to ask what everyone in the room wants to ask. Have you watched Ancient Aliens, and what do you think of that series?” he asked. “I think I’ve been on that program,” Shostak replied.

But committee Chairman Lamar Smith took the issue very seriously, pressing the panelists on how likely it is that there’s intelligent life on other planets. He was pleased with their response: nearly 100 percent.

While Smith may support the search for extraterrestrial life, he’s much less sympathetic about the cause of climate change on this planet. Last year, Smith wrote a column in The Washington Post casting doubt on the idea that global warming is caused by human energy use.

“Climate change is an issue that needs to be discussed thoughtfully and objectively,” Smith wrote. “Contrary to the claims of those who want to strictly regulate carbon dioxide emissions and increase the cost of energy for all Americans, there is a great amount of uncertainty associated with climate science.”

But, judging by the actions of the committee Smith chairs, a reasoned debate about Earth’s atmosphere isn’t nearly as appealing as speculating on the atmospheres of other planets.

You could argue that it makes sense for the House Science Committee to rigorously discuss outer space—after all, it’s right there in the committee’s name. But you could also argue that when the committee you chair has the word “science” in its name, you may want to discuss the premier scientific debate that’s going on.

The House Science Committee has discussed climate change in relation to other projects, such as theKeystone XL pipeline. But its main focus, along with other House committees dealing with energy and the environment, has been to reprimand the Environmental Protection Agency for its regulations.

At Wednesday’s hearing, Dan Werthimer of the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence Institute, or SETI, made the point that a search for intelligent life could prove futile. “If we discover that we are alone, we’d better take really good care of life on this planet,” he told the committee.

The truth may be out there, but so are some uncomfortable truths we’ll eventually have to deal with, right here.

Asteroid Could Wipe us All out – Collision Course with Earth – Doomsday Event – Russia and U.S Taking Action

Asteroid Could Wipe us All out – Collision Course with Earth – Doomsday Event – Russia and U.S Taking Action

(Before It's News)

Apophis was discovered on June 19, 2004, by Roy A. Tucker, David J. Tholen and Fabrizio Bernardi at the Kitt Peak National Observatory. On December 21, 2004, Apophis passed 0.0963 AU (14,410,000 km; 8,950,000 mi) from Earth. Precovery observations from March 15, 2004, were identified on December 27, and an improved orbit was computed. Radar astrometry in January 2005 further refined the orbit.
When first discovered, the object received the provisional designation 2004 MN4, and news and scientific articles about it referred to it by that name. When its orbit was sufficiently well calculated, it received the permanent number 99942 (on June 24, 2005). Receiving a permanent number made it eligible for naming, and it received the name “Apophis” on July 19, 2005. Apophis is the Greek name of an enemy of the Ancient Egyptian sun-god Ra: Apep, the Uncreator, an evil serpent that dwells in the eternal darkness of the Duat and tries to swallow Ra during his nightly passage. Apep is held at bay by Set, the Ancient Egyptian god of storms and the desert. David J. Tholen and Tucker—two of the co-discoverers of the asteroid—are reportedly fans of the TV series Stargate SG-1. One of the show’s persistent villains is an alien named Apophis. In the fictional world of the show, the alien’s backstory was that he had lived on Earth during ancient times and had posed as a god, thereby giving rise to the myth of the Egyptian god of the same name.
Close approaches

Close approach of Apophis on April 13, 2029 (as known in February 2005)

After the Minor Planet Center confirmed the June discovery of Apophis, an April 13, 2029 close approach was flagged by NASA’s automatic Sentry system and NEODyS, a similar automatic program run by the University of Pisa and the University of Valladolid. On that date, it will become as bright as magnitude 3.4 (visible to the naked eye from rural as well as darker suburban areas, visible with binoculars from most locations). The close approach will be visible from Europe, Africa, and western Asia. During the close approach in 2029 Earth will perturb Apophis from an Aten class orbit with a semi-major axis of 0.92 AU to an Apollo class orbit with a semi-major axis of 1.1 AU.
After Sentry and NEODyS announced the possible impact, additional observations decreased the uncertainty in Apophis’s trajectory. As they did, the probability of an impact event temporarily climbed, peaking at 2.7% (1 in 37).This probability, combined with its size, caused Apophis to be assessed at level 4 on the Torino Scale, and 1.10 on the Palermo Technical Impact Hazard Scale, scales scientists use to represent how dangerous a given asteroid is to Earth. These are the highest values for which any object has been rated on either scale. The chance that there would be an impact in 2029 was eliminated by December 27, 2004. The danger of a 2036 passage was lowered to level 0 on the Torino Scale in August 2006. With a cumulative Palermo Scale rating of −3.2,[3] the risk of impact from Apophis is less than one thousandth the background hazard level.
On April 13, 2029, Apophis will pass Earth within the orbits of geosynchronous communication satellites, but will come no closer than 19,400 miles (31,300 kilometers) above Earth’s surface. The 2029 pass will be much closer than had first been predicted. The pass in late March 2036 will be no closer than about 23 million kilometres (14×106 mi) — and will probably miss us by something closer to 56 million kilometres (35×106 mi).
2005 and 2011 observations
In July 2005, former Apollo astronaut Rusty Schweickart, as chairman of the B612 Foundation, formally asked NASA to investigate the possibility that the asteroid’s post-2029 orbit could be in orbital resonance with Earth, which would increase the probability of future impacts. Schweickart also asked NASA to investigate whether a transponder should be placed on the asteroid to enable more accurate tracking of how its orbit is affected by the Yarkovsky effect. On January 31, 2011, astronomers took the first new images of Apophis in more than 3 years

Why Were These UFOs Shadowing a Virgin Jet Above Australia’s Bondi Beach?

More unexplained objects. Do non-believers of UFO’s still exist? I suspect everyone acknowledges UFO’s these days. If not, they’re in for one whollop of a surprise in our near future!

Photographer snaps UFOs flying over Bondi while taking photos of a storm. Dan Toomey said they were not visible to the naked eye but on a computer. He saw one saucer-like and cigar-shaped object hovering next to a plane.

In the series of photographs, taken in 2009, a saucer-like and cigar-shaped object are seen flying either side of a Virgin Blue plane. Over the next few days, Mr Toomey tried to find out what the objects were, but was unsuccessful. ‘I tried to experiment to determine whether or not any insects or birds could have produced similar results, which is impossible – I’ve consulted with other photographers,’ he said. ‘The photographs are authentic and they are objects that cannot be claimed. ‘If you invert the photo to a negative, the plane appears white as a solid object and so do the other objects.’ But this is not the first time Mr Toomey has spotted an unexplained object. He said he had seen them with his own eyes but had rarely captured them on film.

‘It always pays to have a camera handy,’ the 38-year-old said. Even though the photos were taken in 2009, Mr Toomey has been holding them close to his chest. Read more or watch video below.

In this negative image, the two objects (left and right) appear in white on either side of the plane (centre) indicating they are solid

But with the unexplained disappearance of the Malaysian Airlines flight, he felt it was time to share them.

'There’s a big a question mark next to that plane and a lot of conspiracies surrounding what happened,' Mr Toomey said.

'Maybe it’s the right time for the world to know and that these things are real.'

Flight MH370 was flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing when it went missing on March 8.

The search for the plane continues off the coast of Australia in the southern Indian Ocean.

Missing Tribes and Ancient Giants

Missing Tribes and Ancient Giants

(Before It's News)

canyonland+utah.jpg

(Canyonlands Anasazi petroglyphs, Utah -- upper right shows a giant foot with 6 toes, giant beings with antlers on their heads)

Source:   The name Anasazi has a meaning in the old Navajo language. It can be translated as, "ancient strangers" or "ancient enemy."  The Anasazi first appeared as a people around 1200 BC. There are some  indications (in Native  legends) that they *arrived from the West by  ships. Archeologists find some similarities with ancient cultures of  Central America. Over many centuries, the Anasazi lived in the North American Four  Corners (the area where New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona and Utah meet).  They developed a typical, advanced architecture and religious life. They have left behind many petroglyphs and other rock art, through which we  get an impression of what they saw or believed.
(*Remember that kernel of truth in legends that are passed down - visitors by boat, like the Peruvians said of the red-haired giants*).

*They built an astronomical observatory and used a ceremonial calendar to plan their daily and religious life. Another remarkable phenomenon is  the elaborate road system. In their dwellings they constructed a central hole in the floor, representing the entrance from the underworld (third world) into the fourth world on Earth.   In the 13th century AD, the Anasazi suddenly disappeared. Some traces of their culture can be found in modern day Indian tribes like the Hopi,  but this is not enough to prove that the Anasazi just packed their bags  and left for another location. On the other hand, the idea that they  left by spaceship also remains speculative of course.   Aliens or not, there are enough similarities with other ancient sites  around the world (such as Stonehenge) to say that the **Anasazi were the  bearers of a global ancient culture. As members of that culture, they  had knowledge of astronomy and an understanding of the universe. Their  disappearance remains a mystery.
(*I will be talking in a few days on the blog about the characteristics found in ancient "giant" cultures* including tracking the stars.
(**Ancient global culture - yes, but not alien).

anasazi+skeleton.jpg

Source:  These three bodies were dumped into the ventilator shaft outside of a  kiva. A 45-50 year-old male and a 15-17 year-old female were dropped  head-first into the shaft and a 5-7 year-old of indeterminable sex was  dropped feet-first. All at the same time. Realize that Anasazi burials  of this time period were careful affairs with bodies flexed just so and  many grave goods. These three people were not so much buried as disposed of. Christine Robinson analyzed these burials as part of her master's  thesis and could find no probable cause of death from the skeletal  evidence. Were these ritual executions? We'll never know.

Native Legends of Giants

Source:  Iroquois legend - Stone Coat is the name of a mythological rock giant of the Iroquois-speaking tribes. In some tribal traditions there is only one Stone Coat, while in others, there is a whole race of them. Stone Coats are described as being about twice as tall as humans, with their bodies covered in rock-hard scales that repel all normal weapons. They are associated with winter and ice, and they hunt and eat humans. In some legends Stonecoats were once human, and became cannibal monsters as a curse punishing them for evil deeds, like the Windigos of Chippewa mythology. In other legends Stonecoats were never human, but were a tribe of primordial man-eating monsters created by Flint. (Often associated with cold and ice)

Source:  Witiko are evil man-eating giants of Cree mythology. Witikos play the roles of monsters and  bogeymen in some legends; in others, Cree people who commit sins (especially selfishness,  gluttony, or cannibalism) are turned into a Witiko as punishment. The appearance of a Witiko is huge, monstrous, and made of or coated in ice. In some Cree stories,  looking directly at a Witiko  will leave a person paralyzed and helpless against it.

Source:  (Algonquin) The chenoo/giwakwa/kiwakwa is a human being who has been transformed through dark magic into a cannibalistic giant.

Source:  The Paiute Indians have a legend about their ancestors and red-haired giants. These giants, known as Si-Te-Cah, used to kill and eat the Paiute tribes. Though the Si-Te-Cah were small in numbers, they posed a dire threat to the Paiute, who were beginning to settle  the area. Legend has it that the Paiute cornered and forced the giants  underground, into a cave system, piled brush over the entrance, and set  it on fire with flaming arrows, extinguishing the Si-Te-Cah for good.

Navajo legend of Coyote and the Giant:  According to stories of ancient times, cruel giants once  roamed the earth. They were especially fond of little children, whom they caught  and ate.

0000Skeptical.jpg

I am on a  quest to understand better the influences of ancient giants in the West. These people with what are considered primitive skull types referred to by researcheres as "Otamid" (likely  descendents of homo erectus in Asia to my estimation), were not always  enormously tall, but surely over 6 feet and upwards of 11 feet by some  reports. They were cannibalistic, but also were first migration to  America. So, what we had here were some bloodthirsty, powerful people,  who also had evolved technology and knowledge before us, so influences  such as astronomical tracking, canal building, mining and the like were  surely their work first and adopted by the paleo-indians who arrived  later to the Americas in the "second migration."

References by many tribes reflect that concept that there were others here with extraordinary knowledge when their ancestors arrived. We call tribes of America, "Natives People" and they are in some respects as they are the ones who won out and remained the longest here and perhaps learned the most from the "originators," both in survival and technology.

There are lots of clues in ancient Native cultures that went missing that  make me wonder about the relationship between the Natives and the  giants. In some aspects, like in Peru and Mexico, it would appear they  idolized these giant intelligent people and wanted to appease them with  cradle-boarding of babies heads and perhaps even human sacrifice to the cannibalistic gods. But, in  legends such as those of the Paiutes, these cannibals were not to be  reasoned with and needed to be destroyed.

My curiosity now is, who were the cultures like HoHoKam, Sinagua, and Anasazi who were here  long ago and went missing and coexisted at the same time in different regions of the southwest, had canal systems and astronomical  buildings and advanced types of construction and such?  How much was theirs and how much was giants? Did they coexist or did they claim the lands once they drove off or killed the giants?

Here's some possibilities:

1.  Perhaps the Sinagua and Anasazi were ancient giants who set up their homes in the Southwest, building structures into cliff sides, knowing the locals rebuked their savage ways. They abducted locals and ate them up in their cliff dwellings and discarded their bones there. They would be  responsible for the astronomical tracking and canal building, showing their way advanced knowledge that was "out of place/out of time." The emptied out buildings and abandoned roads and canals were signs that they were driven out by the rebelling local tribes who banded against them, much like the Paiutes legends from Lovelock Cave.

2.  Perhaps Anasazi (and other missing tribes) were an American Indian tribe who fashioned cliff dwellings as protection from giants, but ultimately succumbed to invasions and cannibalism from the giants.

anasazi.jpg

Source:  In some Anasazi sites, human bones are found chopped up in ways indicating cannibalism was routinely practiced. Human bones, such as those in the center of the photo above, were butchered and thrown away with the trash.

Source:  In the Southwest United States groups of giants lived and indigenous  Indian history relates that giants lived and interfaced with their  peoples. The Anasazi Indian cliff dwellers lived in that type of  arrangement as a means of safety from not only other waring tribes but  from the giants who also lived in the area. There is one passed down  story which tells how during poor growing seasons the giants would come  to the villages steal their crops and cause hardship for the Indians  winter survival. And during really hard times the Indians were dragged  off and cannibalized. This is not in your normal history book. This is  in Hopi record.

Source:  The Anasazi lived on the canyon floor for  hundreds of years, but for some reason, suddenly were prompted to move  up higher to the cliff crevices and set to work building the famed cliff dwellings. They soon began a massively energetic, 75-year building  program, and just disappeared; they abandoned the amazing stone  architecture they worked so hard to build.

Source:  The Anasazi mysteriously disappeared between 500 CE (common era or AD) and 1300 CE.  They were advanced and their origins are mysterious. They made hundreds of miles of roads, controlled waterways, and built cliff dwellings that even today people have trouble reaching without ropes. They went missing and most accepted belief is drought sent them away, but no one knows for sure where they came from and where they went. Today, the Hopi live in these regions, but they are not related.

The word Anasazi belongs to the Navajo language and means "the ancient ones". This tribe is thought to have flourished  and mysteriously disappeared between 550 and 1300 CE in the area of Mesa Verde, Colorado in the US. Historians, archaeologists, researchers and  photographers have studied the tribe because many elements of their  origins and their evolution remain an enigma. In fact, the Anasazi  civilization was not uncovered by the archaeologist’s hoe, but by William Henry Jackson, a photographer who in 1870 found ruins of buildings belonging to this civilization.
The Anasazi left behind evidence as to the extent of their advanced  culture. They interlaid their country with hundreds of miles of roads  and devised innovations to control waters and create a lifestyle  maintained by agriculture—which, by the way, continues to maintain  larger populations who live in the same areas today.  All of this while  lacking the use of the wheel and without the ability to transport using  animals. Yet another intriguing aspect of their lifestyle is that some  of the homes built in the hillsides over 700 years ago by the Anasazi  are so inaccessible that today only climbers with ropes can reach them.  So some have wondered: did the Anasazi also use ropes? And if so, how  did they build these homes? The remnants of many Anasazi dwellings  remain in Four Corners, where Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico  meet, and have provided some answers. Archaeologists know that in order  to reach the homes the Anasazi built in natural cavities—often hundreds  of meters high in sandstone hills—using tree trunks with carved notches  to facilitate the ascent, as well as stairs carved into the hillsides.  But for climbers in this area, these tools are not enough in order to  reach several of the houses.

Source:  Native Americans preserve oral traditions  which speak of a time, very long ago, when their ancestors came into  conflict with "giants" that roamed the region, interfered with  activities... Stories and  legends of giants are not confined to the Old Testament or Native  American traditions, however. Although varied from region to region,  their fundamental similarities present a haunting commonality..        The giants were generally portrayed with an insatiable thirst for blood, and, because of this savage lust, were violently swept away by a great deluge. Most of them perished, but a few survivors supposedly  made their way to various parts of the world.

The "ant people" of Hopi legend seem to show antennae but you see these "antler" sketches on many of the petroglyphs in the west  (see picture at the top of the post too) and even on the Piasa Bird of Illinois that supposed was cannibalistic.

In the case of animal effigies that were so prevalent from Nazca line and Wisconsin geoglyphs and serpent mound, the moundbuilders had many animal effigies in the form of pots and pipes, but so did the southwestern native people. The question becomes, what universally ties all technology, language, and cultural similarities between these natives throughout the Americas? The influence of those who were already established here when their ancestors arrived - the "giant" race.

Ultimately, it seems researchers slough over the gaps in knowledge, whether it's the gaps in evolutionary process of humans or things like missing tribes and horses etched in stone before horses supposedly arrived here, giant skeletons and giant legends.

If one is willing to look them straight on, it might take away from some of the achievements native people around the globe would like to lay claim to and there is ethnic pride involved, but I no more believe that Vikings came to America in 1100 AD as I do Phoenicians or any other cultures that want to lay claim to sea travel out of place/out of time.

The fact is it will be hard to divide who developed weaving and who took it and ran, who tracked the stars and who learned to look to the heavens. If we look at Lovelock Cave, the unbelievably tightly woven duck decoys and basketry were in the same place as these ancient giants who are repeatedly described as living at major waterways and in caves.

Many of our religions and our legends may be based on this very first man culture on earth as gods on earth, tormenters and teachers, those with knowledge and who held power in some way over early homo sapiens, including cannibalistic ways, giant size, the smaller man beating them down, and floods obliterating their hedonistic and cannibalistic ways.

I will continue to pursue these missing tribes. I am having a very hard time finding any photographs of the skeletons recovered from these sites. I'd be curious to see if anyone has them from university study papers and such. I will keep everyone updated as I try to piece together the gaps no one is willing to consider.

300 miljoen jaar oude stukken gereedschap?

300 miljoen jaar oude stukken gereedschap?

300 miljoen jaar oude stukken gereedschap?

Ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd Talks About UFOs At A Crystal Skull Vodka Signing Event (Video)

Ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd Talks About UFOs At A Crystal Skull Vodka Signing Event (Video)

(Before It's News)

Ghostbusters

It’s only natural that former Ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd dabble in the paranormal. But instead of busting ghosts, he has a slightly different hobby now; Aliens. It’s fitting considering that he IS the original conehead.

That’s right, during a signing at a Liquor Store in Attleboro, MA, Dan took some time off to talk to a fan about what his paranormal investigations have lead him to – revealing some websites and literature that would be of great resource to the aspiring UFO hunter.

Check it out – Dan even goes into a personal encounter he had with a UFO over Martha’s Vineyard.

We can’t say for certain whether or not we’re alone in the universe. Statistically speaking, it seems highly improbable that we’re the only living things in this big ol’ universe – but if there is other life, and it knows we’re here, it’s certainly going out of it’s way to keep itself hidden.

At any rate, Dan Aykroyd, like Fox Mulder, wants to believe. Do you? .

Abduction Notes
Biography of John S. Carpenter, MSW, LCSW

John Carpenter in 2001

John Carpenter in 2001

John Carpenter obtained a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana, and a master’s degree in Social Work, from Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri. He has had advanced training in Clinical Hypnosis in order to practice as a psychiatric therapist and hypnotherapist in Branson, Missouri. For over 32 years he has counseled people in Southwest Missouri for every kind of emotional problem imaginable.

His life-long curiosity in UFOs led to his volunteering his services for over 150 cases of possible UFO abduction. Using clever interviewing and thorough hypnotic investigation, he has collected amazing patterns of data which clearly depict a consistent and coherent scenario of extraterrestrial contact. He presented six papers at the prestigious MIT Abduction Study Conference in Boston in 1992. His published papers have brought him international recognition and speaking invitations on five continents. He has presented at conferences from Australia to England, on national and international radio, television, and film documentaries. He has created and produced 10 research DVDs since 1996. Mr. Carpenter also served as MUFON’s Director of Abduction Research from 1991 until 2000 and is a founding member of JAR: Journal For Abduction Encounter Research.

John Carpenter is currently writing a book titled Invaded: Human Contact With Non-Human Beings and is available for Presentations Worldwide. This article is published with express written permission to AJ for publication on UFO Digest so long as the article remains intact and includes John Carpenter's Biography.

Therapeutic Ideas For Coping
By John S. Carpenter, MSW, LCSW

As a hypnotherapist working with many fine people who find themselves recalling abduction experiences, it would seem helpful to share several of the techniques that are helping these people to cope better. Although not frequently stated, it should also be noted that a number of people are aware of abduction experiences who feel neither a strong need to pursue further information nor any sense of trauma which would require therapeutic relief. These people have privately found ways to cope on their own and have been able to work through any sense of victimization.

Everybody copes a little differently; not everyone needs to uncover details to feel okay and move forward. Many of these folks do not get referred for help; we hear from those who are sleepless, confused, hurting, and needing relief. It is important to remind readers of this so that it will not be assumed that all participants in this phenomenon require the following suggestions. We must respect each person's abilities for coping and assist each one in finding a comfortable pace in which to deal with these bizarre matters.

As researchers we much remember that any eagerness for data is secondary to the necessary adjustment and healing in each human life. If a participant in this phenomenon decides to only have a session once every six months, then their request is upheld with great respect. Any need for more data from the researcher's perspective simply must wait. For some researchers the notion that the “lab rats” can call the shots will indeed be frustrating. Let us remember that our fellow humans are asking for help. Their emotional needs shall effect our course of action until their satisfaction is met. In the excitement over the fascinating data, this can be easily forgotten.

The process of coping can be a long journey with many highs and lows emotionally. The initial clinical picture is descriptive of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder: insomnia, anxiety, phobic or paranoid responses to seemingly harmless environmental cues, hypervigilance, irritability, nightmares and flashbacks. Many feel that they must be going crazy and are fearful of letting anyone know – let alone have a professional validate their supposed insanity. Others say they would actually prefer a psychiatric diagnosis because then there could be a prescribed treatment and a great likelihood for relief.

Assuming for the moment that there are no psychiatric causes for these feelings, these individuals simply need a sensitive, caring, open-minded person with whom to share their “crazy thoughts” which have a persistent, nagging quality to them. Unloading these peculiar feelings in an atmosphere of acceptance is essential. Just listen! It is best not to have a theory or any speculative “explanation” ready; they must decide for themselves what they believe. Feeding them information from outside of their experiences may color, distort, or confuse their efforts to process, understand, and cope effectively.

Many people have told me that they had held-in many of their feelings and unnerving memories for years because they simply did not know whom they could trust not to laugh at them. In a number of families it has become a “family secret” that nobody would share with each other until perhaps years later!

The final decision for when or if to use hypnotic regression for periods of “missing time” related to UFO events must remain with the client; hypnosis is most effective when the abductee is ready and wants to proceed. Often another family member, friend, or even researcher pushes for hypnosis, and it is often too soon and too frightening yet for this professional and personal intrusion. Blocking denial may occur, misleading others to believe that no experience actually occurred. Greater anxiety may develop if such a premature push creates unexpected conflict or tension within their emotions.

The hypnotherapist needs to assert some professional caution to those who view hypnosis as a “magic doorway to all answers” and are overly eager to explore any and all peculiar dreams or potentially unrelated but similar incidents in their lives. These sessions could be ripe for confabulatory data to occur, especially if there are no clinical symptoms such as anxiety or insomnia to resolve and the individual is simply curious and eager for some kind of answers. The hypnotherapist must help the client understand these cautions and facilitate wise decisions based on the considerations of each case. For example, a stranger called me last week, claiming that he had had an odd dream and wanted to schedule hypnosis with me to find out what it meant. This is clearly when an education is needed regarding the need for and uses of hypnosis.

Spaceman in the Pentagon

Who was Valiant Thor? He was said to be a Space Emissary by the Department of Defense, who landed on Earth with a promise of bright future for the world. It is also said that Thor lived at the Pentagon for 3 years, interacting with the President, Vice President and military brass. Can this be true? I have included some excerpts from Stranger at the Pentagonwritten by Dr. Frank E. Stranges, Ph.D. in 1967:

“When I asked him where he was from, he replied, ‘I am from the Planet that is called Venus.’ I asked him how many visitors from Venus were presently on Earth and he said, ‘There are presently seventy seven of us walking among you in the United States. We are constantly coming and going.’”

March 16, 1957, in Alexandria, Virginia, one of the finest leaders of the planet Venus, operating under the direction of the Central Control and who had been chosen to make the contact as well as direct the project, landed his craft and was met by two police officers, weapons drawn.

A thought transference quickly convinced them that he meant no harm and he was ushered into the back seat of their patrol car. After crossing over into Washington, D.C., they were met by the Secretary of Defense along with six of his staff members. Soon police from every conceivable district and agency had joined in, all trying to claim their right to escort him to President Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Through his own version of the power of positive thinking, he was able to dismiss them all and soon passed through the security posts followed by an Air Force Captain.

Meanwhile, his presence in the area had thrown everyone into a dilemma. The introduction he held from the High Council worried them because, though not written in any Earthly language, their minds were given power to properly translate the inscribed message.

Captain Gould (not his real name) asked him to remain and after downing two plain bourbons muttered…

“My god, why couldn’t this have happened on my day off?”

Suddenly the door opened and six armed guards led Val to what appeared to be an elevator. It went rapidly to the bottom-most level. Maximum security was in place. After transferring to an underground train, they sped toward the White House. Six officials, six armed guards and three secret service men escorted him into the office of President Eisenhower.

From behind the desk the President rose while the secret service men remained nervous and uneasy. As he extended his hand to shake that of the President, the secret service men drew their revolvers and pointed them at Val. Following the nod of the President, they reluctantly lowered their guns.

Standing in front of his desk, the President said,
“Of course, you know we have suspended all rules of protocol. I have a good feeling toward you. Please, sir, what is your name?” “And where do you come from?”

“I come from the planet your Bible calls the morning and the evening star.”

“Venus?”

“Yes, sir.”

“Can you prove this,” he asked.

“What do you constitute as proof?”

He quickly retorted, “I don’t know.”

“Will you come with me to my ship?”

He answered with a quizzical look and said, “My friend, I cannot come and go as I please. There are others to be considered. There are committees to be consulted and security measures to be adhered to. Please spend some time with us here …Let’s get better acquainted …learn more about one another …and perhaps soon, real soon, well …we shall see.”

There is so much more to the story. Val was on this planet for 3 years. Here is Stranges’ account of the day he left Earth:

On March 16, Val dematerialized and departed from this phase of his Earthly mission. His next stop was the outskirts of Alexandria, Virginia where his ship and his crew awaited his arrival, hidden by a wooded area. It was no problem for him to reassemble the atoms of his body inside his ship.

As his craft rose slowly, a number of people stopped and pointed excitedly in his direction. Others stood motionless, transfixed by the sight which they beheld. He felt such a tremendous feeling of love for all of them. There was no panic in them… just curiosity and a strong desire to know more. Then, as the USAF jets were scrambled, and with the force field now in full use, the planes darted past the ship unable to see them now. Even ground radar lost them on their equipment. Confusion once again reigned.

On the way back to Victor One, he meditated on his home planet, the low, heavy, colorful clouds, the even temperatures, the perfectly diffused sunlight that made shadows almost nonexistent, the lushness of the rich green grass surrounding his home. He was informed of several Earth people with whom he would maintain contact for a long time into the future.

Strangely enough, those who knew of his presence, yet who claimed disbelief, were those who feared the most. Others figured THEY should have been the ones contacted and not those who were.

Upon returning to his home planet, he advised the Council of Central Control of the results of his Earth visit including the failure of the leaders of the United States to “take him up” on his offer of advice and assistance to the human family.

He was given the following instructions:

-To mingle with and become as Earth people
-To work and labor in Earth enterprises
-To help those who encounter possible threat or danger while striving for world peace
-To give them advice and guidance
-To entrust with superior knowledge those who have proven themselves
-Divulge the essence of their mission to the collective national leaders of Earth, only when the time is right.

As of this writing, he continues with this mission, at the same time assisting in preventing our “civilization” from being the cause of orbital chaos by the destruction of our planet.

NOTE: There is much more information available at The Space Contact – Valiant Thor and Benevolent alien Valiant Thor. As far as my personal opinion on this subject, I’m far from being convinced of the accounts. What’s your opinion? Lon

DID ALIENS POSSIBLY CREATEDi ANCIENT ROCK ART? NASA BOOK ASKS!

(Before It's News)

vacation%20114%20-%20Copy%20-%20Copy%20-%20Copy%20-%20Copy%20-%20Copy_0.JPG

A buzz through the internet has caused a 2012 NASA book to be pulled off the shelves. A fascinating article by Professor Edmundson explores ideas on ancient Rock art and explains its potential use in communicating with possible extraterrestrial races in the future if found. I think it’s a brilliant suggestion and a project that needs to be worked on. It’s one thing to call ET but another to communicate with him.

NASA is looking into that and for good reason. Our satellites are bringing back information that Earth is not alone. Exoplanets have been found where life may have a chance. Linguistic strategies are being explored by scientists and ancient rock art is part of it. NASA scientists’ book called Archaeology, Anthropology and Interstellar Communications explores different possibilities. The ancient rock art in the picture comes from Nevada and notice the Egyptian ankh symbol. Is it a coincidence?

They recognize that rock art all over the world have similarities. A possibility explored is that of extraterrestrials visiting ancient man and evidence of ancient rock art. The fact they agree with is we don’t know where this rock art came from. We have theories but one possibility is ET drawings long ago. The next question asked is the symbols and pictures a language or code left for us by them. It’s a fascinating topic and I for one am sad NASA pulled the book down.

It’s frustrating when more and more information about possible alien life being found in outer space that scientists who talk about how we are going to communicate get censored. Rob McConnell on XZone Radio Show and I talked about how bit by bit the public is getting more and more information released about the possibility of alien life in the universe. Some powerful people fear how knowing we are not alone in the universe will affect mankind’s consciousness.

I feel pulling such an awesome book causes more attention and controversy. Some our biggest project in space is looking for habitable places where life may exist. We are looking for Keys of Life.  I’m shaking my head on this one. Why pull the book? What’s there to be afraid of?

HIGH UFO STRANGENESS IN ONTARIO CANADA

HIGH UFO STRANGENESS IN ONTARIO CANADA

(Before It's News)

APRIL 24, 2014    PORT ROWAN ONTARIO CANADA

Shape: Triangle – Duration: All night – There was everything from black triangles to multi-colored objects near our home each night. I already submitted a report around two years ago regarding the many different types of craft we are seeing in my area right on Lake Erie in Ontario, Canada. This is a follow up report.  We are still seeing the objects on a nightly basis. Many more people are noticing them now.  I have ready several reports of people seeing objects show up at dusk and remain all night long until the sun comes up in the morning. That is the exact same thing we are dealing with in our area.  Even before it is fully dark we are seeing these objects show up. Some a solid white or orange while most flash Multi colored lights of blue, green, red, and white. Most stay in one spot for the duration of the night while others fly around in circles surrounding the hovering ones. It almost as if they are supervising these multi-colored ones.  We see some wobble around and bob around and the best way I can describe their movement is to tell you that they bob like a spider dangling on a web. It’s very strange.  Some will come down and weave in and out of the trees in the forest and if we shine a light in the tress to try and see these objects they will shut of their lights. When they shut their lights off it looks like a kerosene heater going out.   My dogs act strange when they are around and lunge at the forest barking most nights.  We are after having huge black triangles fly within 200 feet above our heads which are perfectly silent and if they went any slower they would fall out of the sky. This has happened to my daughter and I twice while out driving around on our four-wheeler.  Several neighbors have approached me and told me that they are seeing these things as well, but said they won’t tell anyone else because they don’t want them to think they are crazy. There are just so many and they come here every night.  This is a great place for investigators to come. There is always something out there for them to see.  NOTE: The above image is a rendering

We’ve all wished someone from the future could send us tomorrow’s lottery ticket numbers.

While it may seem wishful thinking, a physicist from Cambridge University believes that, in theory, it could be possible.

He argues that if a thin wormhole stays open long enough, people might send messages instantly through time using pulses of light.

In theory, this light- called a photon – could carry a message to a distant past or future.

It sounds like the stuff of science fiction, but the theory of wormholes being used to send objects through time was first suggested by Albert Einstein's calculations.

Wormholes are theoretical tunnels through the fabric of space-time that can create shortcuts for long journeys across the universe.

The problem with his theory is that, if wormholes exist, they don’t stay open long enough for a human, or even a single particle of light, to pass through them.

But a new study at Cambridge University suggests that some wormholes are capable of staying open long enough to send messages backwards and forwards through time.

In 1988, physicist Kip Thorne at the California Institute of Technology suggested that wormholes might be kept open through the use of a negative energy, known as Casimir energy.

According to modern physics, the vacuum is full of fluctuating electromagnetic waves of different possible wavelengths which creates a vast amount of energy, normally invisible to humans.

Between two parallel plates in a vacuum, some energy waves would be too large to fit through creating a negative Casimir energy.

WHAT IS A WORMHOLE?

Space-time can be warped and distorted. It takes an enormous amount of matter or energy to create such distortions, but theoretically, distortions are possible.

In the case of the wormhole, a shortcut is made by warping the fabric of space-time. Imagine folding a piece of paper with two pencil marks drawn on it to represent two points in space-time.

The line between them shows the distance from one point to the other in normal space-time.

If the paper is now bent and folded over almost double - the equivalent to warping space-time -  then poking the pencil through the paper provides a much shorter way of linking the two points, in the same way a wormhole would create a shortcut.

The problem with using wormholes to travel in space or time is that they are inherently unstable.  When a particle enters a wormhole, it also creates fluctuations that cause the structure to collapse in on it.

The latest study suggests there are unusual-shaped wormholes than may be able to stay open longer than normal

Einstein believed worm holes could open up a window into a different era. The problem with his theory is that, if worm holes exist, they don't stay open long enough for anything to pass through them. But a new study at Cambridge University suggests unusually-shaped wormholes could stay open longer than normal

Einstein believed worm holes could open up a window into a different era. The problem with his theory is that, if worm holes exist, they don't stay open long enough for anything to pass through them. But a new study at Cambridge University suggests unusually-shaped wormholes could stay open longer than normal

Professor Luke Butcher’s recent paper builds on that theory by suggesting that if a wormhole is a lot longer than it is wide, the amount of Casimir energy naturally present inside it would be enough to allow it to stay open longer than normal.

‘My approach was to see if the wormhole itself – because it has a tube-like structure - could create the same effect as the plates,’ Dr Butcher told MailOnline.

‘My calculations showed that if a wormhole is very long compared to how wide it is, you can get negative energy created in the centre of the wormhole.

‘It’s not quite the right sort to keep the wormhole stable – which is what I’d hoped - but it does mean the wormhole collapses very slowly.'

The wormhole would be open just long enough, Dr Butcher suggests, to send a photon through to the centre.

The worm hole would be open just long enough, Dr Butcher suggests, to send a photon through to the other side. Because the ends of a wormhole can exist at different points in time, if Professor Butcher's theory proves correct, a message could be sent through time

The worm hole would be open just long enough, Dr Butcher suggests, to send a photon through to the other side. Because the ends of a wormhole can exist at different points in time, if Professor Butcher's theory proves correct, a message could be sent through time

Because the ends of a wormhole can exist at different points in time, if Professor Butcher’s theory proves correct, a message could be sent through time.

Dr Butcher warned a lot more work needs to be down to confirm his theory.

For instance, scientists still need to find out whether a pulse of light large enough to transmit a meaningful message can get through a collapsing wormhole and whether the pulse can actually escape the wormhole completely.

‘More calculations need to be done away from centre closer to mouths to see if the theory holds true,’ added Dr Butcher.

‘I would also like to look at the opposite case.

'Could a very short and fat worm hole be able to send messages through time?

‘This is all very much theoretical, but the possibilities are intriguing.

The Ancient Giants Who Ruled America: The Missing Skeletons and the Great Smithsonian Cover-Up

The Ancient Giants Who Ruled America: The Missing Skeletons and the Great Smithsonian Cover-Up

(Before It's News)

This is a radio interview with Richard J. Dewhurst stop by our archives and listen for free always at The Church of Mabus radio show.

The Ancient Giants Who Ruled America: The Missing Skeletons and the Great Smithsonian Cover-Up Paperback

by Richard J. Dewhurst

A study of the substantial evidence for a former race of giants in North America and its 150-year suppression by the Smithsonian Institution

• Shows how thousands of giant skeletons have been found, particularly in the Mississippi Valley, as well as the ruins of the giants’ cities

• Explores 400 years of giant finds, including newspaper articles, first person accounts, state historical records, and illustrated field reports

• Reveals the Stonehenge-era megalithic burial complex on Catalina Island with over 4,000 giant skeletons, including kings more than 9 feet tall

• Includes more than 100 rare photographs and illustrations of the lost evidence

Drawing on 400 years of newspaper articles and photos, first person accounts, state historical records, and illustrated field reports, Richard J. Dewhurst reveals not only that North America was once ruled by an advanced race of giants but also that the Smithsonian has been actively suppressing the physical evidence for nearly 150 years. He shows how thousands of giant skeletons have been unearthed at Mound Builder sites across the continent, only to disappear from the historical record. He examines other concealed giant discoveries, such as the giant mummies found in Spirit Cave, Nevada, wrapped in fine textiles and dating to 8000 BCE; the hundreds of red-haired bog mummies found at sinkhole “cenotes” on the west coast of Florida and dating to 7500 BCE; and the ruins of the giants’ cities with populations in excess of 100,000 in Arizona, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Louisiana.

Dewhurst shows how this suppression began shortly after the Civil War and transformed into an outright cover-up in 1879 when Major John Wesley Powell was appointed Smithsonian director, launching a strict pro-evolution, pro-Manifest Destiny agenda. He also reveals the 1920s’ discovery on Catalina Island of a megalithic burial complex with 6,000 years of continuous burials and over 4,000 skeletons, including a succession of kings and queens, some more than 9 feet tall–the evidence for which is hidden in the restricted-access evidence rooms at the Smithsonian.

War of the Worlds, Orson Welles,

War of the Worlds, Orson Welles, And The Invasion from Mars

The ability to confuse audiences en masse may have first become obvious as a result of one    of the most infamous mistakes in history. It happened the day before Halloween,    on Oct. 30, 1938, when    millions of Americans tuned in to a popular radio program that featured plays directed by,    and often starring, Orson Welles. The performance that evening was an adaptation of the    science fiction novel The War of the Worlds, about a Martian invasion of the    earth. But in adapting the book for a radio play, Welles made an important change: under    his direction the play was written and performed so it would sound like a news broadcast    about an invasion from Mars, a technique that, presumably, was intended to heighten the    dramatic effect.

As the play unfolded, dance music was interrupted a number of times by fake news    bulletins reporting that a "huge flaming object" had dropped on a farm near    Grovers Mill, New Jersey. As members of the audience sat on the edge of their collective    seat, actors playing news announcers, officials and other roles one would expect to hear    in a news report, described the landing of an invasion force from Mars and the destruction    of the United States. The broadcast also contained a number of explanations that it was    all a radio play, but if members of the audience missed a brief explanation at the    beginning, the next one didn't arrive until 40 minutes into the program.

At one point in the broadcast, an actor in a studio, playing a newscaster in the field,    described the emergence of one of the aliens from its spacecraft. "Good heavens,    something's wriggling out of the shadow like a gray snake," he said, in an    appropriately dramatic tone of voice. "Now it's another one, and another. They look    like tentacles to me. There, I can see the thing's body. It's large as a bear and it    glistens like wet leather. But that face. It...it's indescribable. I can hardly force    myself to keep looking at it. The eyes are black and gleam like a serpent. The mouth is    V-shaped with saliva dripping from its rimless lips that seem to quiver and pulsate....The    thing is raising up. The crowd falls back. They've seen enough. This is the most    extraordinary experience. I can't find words. I'm pulling this microphone with me as I    talk. I'll have to stop the description until I've taken a new position. Hold on, will you    please, I'll be back in a minute."

As it listened to this simulation of a news broadcast, created with voice acting and    sound effects, a portion of the audience concluded that it was hearing an actual news    account of an invasion from Mars. People packed the roads, hid in cellars, loaded guns,    even wrapped their heads in wet towels as protection from Martian poison gas, in an    attempt to defend themselves against aliens, oblivious to the fact that they were acting    out the role of the panic-stricken public that actually belonged in a radio play. Not    unlike Stanislaw Lem's deluded populace, people were stuck in a kind of virtual world in    which fiction was confused for fact.

News of the panic (which was conveyed via genuine news reports) quickly generated a    national scandal. There were calls, which never went anywhere, for government regulations    of broadcasting to ensure that a similar incident wouldn't happen again. The victims were    also subjected to ridicule, a reaction that can commonly be found, today, when people are    taken in by simulations. A cartoon in the New York World-Telegram, for example, portrayed    a character who confuses the simulations of the entertainment industry with reality. In    one box, the character is shown trying to stick his hand into the radio to shake hands    with Amos n' Andy. In another, he reports to a police officer that there is "Black    magic!!! There's a little wooden man -- Charlie McCarthy -- and he's actually    talking!"

In a prescient column, in the New York Tribune, Dorothy Thompson foresaw that the    broadcast revealed the way politicians could use the power of mass communications to    create theatrical illusions, to manipulate the public.

"All unwittingly, Mr. Orson Welles and the Mercury Theater of the Air have made    one of the most fascinating and important demonstrations of all time," she wrote.    "They have proved that a few effective voices, accompanied by sound effects, can    convince masses of people of a totally unreasonable, completely fantastic proposition as    to create a nation-wide panic.

"They have demonstrated more potently than any argument, demonstrated beyond a    question of a doubt, the appalling dangers and enormous effectiveness of popular and    theatrical demagoguery....

"Hitler managed to scare all of Europe to its knees a month ago, but he at least    had an army and an air force to back up his shrieking words.

"But Mr. Welles scared thousands into demoralization with nothing at all."

In the 1950s, America had another taste of the power that simulations have, to draw    people into a world of delusional fantasy, when paired with mass communications. This time    it was revealed that a number of television game shows were simulations, in which    contestants who knew the answers ahead of time were pretending to guess at their    responses. But unlike the invasion from Mars, here the fakery was unambiguously    intentional; it was the work of producers who had concluded they could create fictional    game shows that would be more exciting than the real thing.

Once again, there was a shocked reaction from the public. Once again, those involved    became objects of public anger. And, as happened with the Orson Welles broadcast, an    effort was made to ensure that such manipulations wouldn't recur.

But in 1990, it happened again. Audiences around the world discovered that they were    taken in by the ultimate Hollywood illusion in which two performers faked their own    talent, lip-syncing, to create the impression they were singing. What millions of fans had    believed were two talented singers was actually a composite, another seamless interweaving    of sensory simulations in which two people provided the visuals, while vocalists provided    the audio.

As in the previous two instances, there was a stunned response. But unlike the    experience of 1938 or even the 1950s, the social context was different because simulations    had become commonplace, and attempts to use them to trick the public were the rule rather    than the exception. Also by this time, a global culture had developed, which meant that    tens of millions of people around the world were drawn into the same illusion.

One might say that War of the Worlds and the game show scandal foreshadowed the age of    simulation that was still to come. Allowing for a little poetic overstatement, the Milli    Vanilli scandal served as a rite of passage or symbolic marker, making clear that we now    live in an age of simulation confusion in which our tendency to mistake fakes for what    they imitate has become one of the characteristic problems of the age.

More to the point, we live in a time in which the ability to create deceptive    simulations, especially for television, has become essential to the exercise of power. And    the inability to see through these deceptions has become a form of powerlessness. Those    who let themselves be taken in by the multiple deceptions of politics, news, advertising    and public relations, are doomed, like the more gullible members of the radio audience in    1938, to play a role in other people's dramas, while mistakenly believing that they are    reacting to something genuine.

Lost Underground Empire of the Lizard People - ParaNormics

Lost Underground Empire of the Lizard People - ParaNormics

thought it would be fun to explore the story of the “Lizard People,”an advanced race of humans who created an underground city here some 5,000 years ago. Which is to say the excavations on Fort Moore Hill in an unsuccessful search for gold. G. Warren Shufelt usually gets the credit for the enterprise, but his partners deserve equal attention. The Times reported that Rex. I. McCreery and Ray Martin provided an ancient parchment map showing the Lizard People’s underground empire, which allegedly stretched from the Central Library on 5th Street to the Southwest Museum, which you must admit is a lot of digging.

L.A Times, January 29th, 1934

According to the story, incalculable riches and gold tablets with the origins of human civilization carved into them were just waiting to be discovered by some savvy treasure hunter.

This super-race, allegedly related to the Mayans, had purportedly fled a catastrophic meteor shower and created several such communities along the Pacific Coast, including the one in our dear basin. The so-called Lizard People were so intellectually and technologically advanced that they used mysterious chemicals to dig a network of some 285 tunnels fully equipped with vast chambers (large enough to accommodate 1,000 families who lived off of a store of food and water placed there by the tribe).

This story, loosely drawn from a Hopi Indian myth by a tribesman called Chief Green Leaf, was told to a geophysicist and mining engineer named George Warren Shufelt in 1933. As it turned out, Shufelt had invented what he called a “radio X-ray machine” (which he believed could detect underground tunnels). Add to that the promise of an ancient sheepskin map held by two other treasure seekers, and you have a tale that went viral by 1933 standards.

lizardpeeps

Shufelt’s quest for the Lizard People’s golden treasures was picked up and followed closely by the Los Angeles Times and in turn the Associated Press, which spread Shufelt’s search for the lost catacombs and their inhabitants all across America. The entire underground city, appropriately shaped like a lizard, reached from Elysian Park (the lizard’s head) to today’s Central Library (the tip of the tail).

Shufelt swore up and down that he had discovered the exact locations of 1,900 square feet of tunnels, rooms with 9,000 feet of floor space, and 16 places where gold was stored all by using his radio X-ray machine. He created this map of the passages below the surface of Fort Moore Hill. After getting permission from the County Board of Supervisors, he began a dig up on North Hill street “overlooking Sunset, Spring and North Broadway” that was watched like an engineering soap opera by folks in the grip of the depression. The wildly speculative newspaper reports insisted that the buried treasure was Spanish gold planted in the colonial period and that the crew felt they were ready to bring it out after 28 feet of shaft was sunk.

The deal made by Shufelt and his small team of associates was a 50-50 split with the county, but the dig was plagued by challenges (dense boulders and plenty of mud after the shafts passed the water table). Some “experts” claimed the dig must reach 1,000 feet, and while Shufelt did accomplish 250 feet, he found no gold or tunnels.

When winter turned to spring the digging stopped, as the money dried up and the newspaper stories vanished (along with the radio X-ray). G. Warren, as he was called in the days of the great Lizard City quest, stayed around Los Angeles and finally passed on in North Hollywood in November of 1957, leaving behind a great story and this memorable map.

NASA Conspiracy – UFO Sightings & Alien Structures

NASA Conspiracy – UFO Sightings & Alien Structures

nasa-conspiracy.jpg

Is it possible that there could be an entirely different history of human spaceflight than what the public generally believes? This presentation initially covers the bizarre encounters between Apollo 10 and the eerie “Music” heard behind the far side of the Moon, as well as the tracking of multiple UFOs that follow the Apollo 10 spacecraft and appear under intelligent control.

The film also explores the possibility that NASA has known for some time about an extraterrestrial presence on the Moon and Mars – and the ancient structures and artifacts they’ve left behind. Images and video footage from lunar and martian spacecraft reveal tantalizing evidence of unusual structural and vehicular objects on and around other worlds. A strange, unidentified craft seen by both Apollo 10 and Apollo 11, as well as vector and velocity changing UFOs seen by the ISS, are also presented.

Does the evidence point to a secret space program? Do these organizations know what humanity has always wondered? If the answer is yes, then what is it that “they” may be trying to communicate to us through their activities and what they’ve left behind.

I was looking through todays Mars rover photos and found an object in the distance. This object matches the description of the UFO seen by the same rover on April 28, 2014 and on May 4, 2014. The end of the object is glowing due to the angle of the sunlight and the long body is lighter in color. When you add contrast and lighting you can see its detail of the body better. I have messaged NASA about this UFO in the two earlier sightings, however NASA refuses to answer.

Aliens Are Out There, Astronomers Tell Congress

        by Big Think Editors

        Bt_space_final

If there are aliens out there, they likely passed by our planet, considered it an unsavory galactic truck stop, and kept going, continuing on their hunt for enlightened life. Aliens most certainly exist, according to astronomers at SETI in a recent appeal to Congress for more funding to search for extraterrestrial life. The question we should be more concerned about: why don't they want to hang out with us? Are we not evolved enough?

Whether aliens have passed by Earth is still up for debate. What the astronomers are certain of is that there are other "earths" out there that could host intelligent life.

"In the last 50 years, evidence has steadily mounted that the components  and conditions we believe necessary for life are common and perhaps  ubiquitous in our galaxy," Dan Werthimer, the director of the SETI [search for extraterrestrial intelligence] Research Center at the University of California, Berkeley, told the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology on Wednesday. He put the chances of alien life "close to 100 percent." His written testimony has additional compelling reasons why SETI's research must be funded.

"The possibility that life has arisen elsewhere, and perhaps  evolved intelligence, is plausible and warrants scientific inquiry," Werthimer said.

Seth Shostak, a senior astronomer at the SETI Institute, told Congress that the chance of finding extraterrestrial life in the next 20 years is high, but it all depends on the funding.

E.T., See You [Back] In 20 Years!

E.T., See You [Back] In 20 Years!

Alien Life Discovery Could Happen Within 20 Years

seti-ata-670x440-140521.jpg

Curious about whether there is life beyond Earth? The answer should come within 20 years, astronomers told members of a Congressional science committee on Wednesday.

A three-way race is under way to learn if life exists elsewhere in the solar system or beyond, Seth Shostak, senior astronomer with the California-based SETI Institute, said during a hearing before the House Science and Technology Committee.

So far, most efforts -- and funding -- to find extraterrestrial life have focused on Mars and potential life-bearing moons in the outer solar system.

13 Ways to Hunt Intelligent Aliens

“At least a half-dozen other worlds (besides Earth) that might have life are in our solar system. The chances of finding it, I think, are good, and if that happens, it’ll happen in the next 20 years, depending on the financing,” Shostak said.

A second initiative scans the atmospheres of distant planets for telltale signs of oxygen or methane, gases which, on Earth, are mostly tied to life.
These searches likewise could yield results in the next two decades, Shostak added.

The third project hunts for technologically advanced aliens that are sending radio or other signals out into space. The idea behind the Search of Extraterrestrial Intelligence, or SETI, is to eavesdrop on signals that are deliberately or accidentally leaked from another world.

Top 10 Places To Find Alien Life

“That makes sense because in fact even we, only 100 years after ... the inventionof  practical radio, already have the technology that would allow us to send bits of information across light years of distance to putative extraterrestrials,” Shostak said.

Humans’ first television broadcasts, including “I Love Lucy,” and “The Ed Sullivan Show,” have passed 10,000 stars, noted SETI hunter Dan Werthimer, with the University of California, Berkeley.

“The nearby stars have seen 'The Simpsons.' If we’re broadcasting, maybe other civilizations are sending signals in our direction -- either leaking signals the way that we unintentionally send off signals, or maybe a deliberate signal,” Werthimer told legislators.

“The fact that we haven’t found anything means nothing,” Shostak added.
“We’ve only just begun to search.”

The Late John Mack Goes Hollywood?

The Late John Mack Goes Hollywood?

Harvard professor Dr. John Mack died in 2004.

Harvard professor Dr. John Mack died in 2004.

Mack the life, and maybe a film

John Mack is back.

Dr. Mack, a decorated Harvard Medical School psychiatrist and winner of the Pulitzer Prize for his brilliant and controversial biography of T.E. Lawrence, suffered a silly and ignominious end: While visiting London in 2004, he stepped off a curb, checking for traffic over his left shoulder. A speeding driver struck him from the right, killing Mack more or less instantly.

At the time he was at the apogee of his fame, or the absolute nadir of his self-abasement, depending on whom you talked to.

Mack had achieved notoriety by investigating “experiencers,” men and women who claimed they had been abducted by aliens traveling to earth on spaceships. “These people are not lying, and they are not crazy,” he declared. Mack wrote a best-selling book, “Abduction,” appeared on “Oprah,” and became the target of a secret Harvard Medical School investigation into his activities.

Now Hollywood filmmaker Denise David Williams wants to make a feature film about Mack, using materials that his family has so far kept hidden from view: an unpublished manuscript about the Harvard investigation; a full transcript of the secret inquiry; and Mack’s complete archive of interviews with purported abductees.

Williams spent over a year partnered with Robert Redford’s Wildwood Productions, but left, she says, “when the direction they wanted to go veered too far from [my] vision of the film.” Now she’s trying to raise $1 million by crowd-sourcing on the Internet, a long shot, but not an impossible task. The recent “Veronica Mars” movie siphoned up $5.7 million in 30 days.

Mack is hard to parse. I met him a few times and, like many psychiatrists, he had an almost hypnotic ability to bend you to his will. I never took much stock tales. To me, the experiencers seemed like serial s pretty much what the world thought, too.

Mack thought otherwise, and he radiated an infectious curiosity about the world that was hard to resist. Harvard’s hysterical overreaction to his work made for great copy, and was a permanent blot on the university’s reputation. Mack quickly learned who his friends were, as colleagues trooped before Dr. Arnold Relman’s ad hoc committee to denigrate him.

Dr. George Vaillant was a rare defender, as was Harvard Law School professor Alan Dershowitz, who opined: “There is an establishment at Harvard; angels — yes. Extraterrestrials — no. There’s a lot of harrumphing that goes on: ‘We don’t want to be identified with this kind of science.’ ”

After the Harvard inquiry blew over in 1995, there were some hints that Mack may have fine-tuned his thinking. “I can see now that I had to a large extent created my problem with the literalness that I had treated the encounter phenomenon in the 1994 book,” he wrote in a manuscript excerpt published by Vanity Fair. “It is possible that in some cases people are taken bodily into spacecraft. However, the question is more subtle and complex.”

Psychiatrist Dr. Jeffrey Rediger knew Mack at the end of his life. “By the time I knew him, he believed that he had been misunderstood by the public and by Harvard,” Rediger says. “The culture focused on the exterior manifestations — the flying saucers, and so on. His private beliefs were much more sophisticated.
It was like he was exploring a new terrain but lacked a map. It was confusing for him and confusing for many who knew him.”

Ten days before Mack’s death he told a colleague, “If anyone asks, tell them I’m not crazy.” I’m not sure if we will ever know.

On Monday, September 1, my colleague Paul Dale Roberts sent me an email stating that he was going to interview an individual who claimed to have been a “Man in Black,” one of the infamous MIB, tormenters of UFO witnesses and researchers. I told Paul that I couldn’t wait to read it. A few hours later, I was reading his extraordinary interview with “Mr. Q,” and today I was enormously pleased to see that the ever-alert Don Allis had run the piece in Alien Seeker: Reporting Anomalous News.

Paul’s excellent interview–which I felt set just the proper tone for such an interview with an individual who may be lying and deliberately spreading disinformation or who may be telling the truth and providing us with another piece of the Great UFO Puzzle–got me to recalling some of the encounters with the MIB that my fellow researchers and I underwent back in the late ‘60s.

In the period from 1966 to 1970, dozens of UFOlogists, contactees, and chance percipients of UFO’s claimed to have been visited by ominous strangers–usually three, usually dressed in black–who made it painfully clear that they would violently enforce their orders to see to it that investigators discontinued flying saucer research and surrendered all photographs or artifacts. Often the threats were punctuated with the assertion that cooperation with the men in black was essential for the good of “your family, your country, and your world.” In many ways, the MIB seemed as though the spirits of the Nazi SS had been resurrected as enforcers for Alien invaders.
By June 24, 1967, a number of us UFOlogists gathered at the Commodore Hotel in New York to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the UFO sighting that brought the term “flying saucers” to our language (Kenneth Arnold spotted the saucer-shaped craft near Mount Rainier, Washington, on June 24, 1947), paranoia concerning the MIB was climbing toward an all-time high. The final match to be thrown on the psychological tinder was the announcement of the death of Frank Edwards on that same special anniversary day.

Edwards was a radio personality who for many years had made a hobby of broadcasting stories on UFO’s and psychic phenomena. At the time of his death Edwards was recognized as the King of Communicators in the field of UFOlogy.
Suddenly he was dead. What were the causes?

Cerebral hemorrhage, agreed many UFOlogists in the crowded corridors of the Commodore Hotel, for that was the principal means of dealing death to UFO witness in the popular television series of the day, The Invaders, starring Roy Thinnes.
Before his death, Frank Edwards had made several comments about attempts to silence him. He had had a highly successful radio program sponsored by the American Federation of Labor. Then, according to Edwards, the show had been dropped and he had been given his walking papers for devoting too many program minutes to discussions about flying saucers. It was his contention that his constant mentions of the UFO enigma had become irritating to the Defense Department–Edwards consistently maintained that the Air Force was guilty of a gigantic cover-up on the subject–and that they had brought pressure to bear on George Meany, President of the AFL.
Had the UFO silencers eliminated Frank Edwards? A lot of UFOlogists thought so, and that we were being infiltrated by some powerful agency from another world, and that the three men in black were representatives of this group’s intelligence arm.
In an issue of Saucer Scoop, a UFO newsletter published by Joan Whritenour, John A. Keel stated in an “Open Letter to All UFO Researchers” that he considered the MIB professional terrorists who included among their duties, “the harassment of UFO researchers who become involved in cases which might reveal too much of the truth.” Keel commented that the victim of the MIB appeared to be subjected to “some sort of brainwashing technique that leaves him in a state of nausea, mental confusion, or even amnesia lasting for several days.”

Keel went on to declare:
“Contacts are being made … then suppressed .. on a dizzying scale. Information is being gained… and lost… at an ever-increasing pace. One of the ironies of all this is that no policeman in his right mind associates black cars, kidnappers, amnesia victims, and black eyes with the UFO phenomena. Many of these cases never get beyond local police departments. Neither the FBI nor any other central government agency is engaged in collecting information on these aspects. Even local newspapers seldom take notice of these cases.

“Because the official law-enforcement agencies are unwilling or unable, to cope with this growing situation, it becomes the responsibility of the private civilian investigator to collect and collate the full details on these incidents. The hazards of such investigations are obvious, but the job must be done …. We must switch our attention from the vehicles to the occupants. The menace is not in our skies. It is on the ground, and at this moment it is spreading like a disease across the country and the world.”

Most of the UFO percipients and investigators reported being threatened by (most often) shortish men with dark complexions, somewhat Asian features, and heavy accents. A number claimed to have received later contact with “aliens” through their home television or radio sets. According to numerous accounts, the aliens’ frequency interrupted normal programming. Robed figures instructed the saucer sighters to cooperate with them and to keep their information confidential. In exchange for this silence and cooperation, the aliens promised that the UFO percipients would be permitted to work with them on certain marvelous projects that would benefit humankind.
***************************************************************
Now I have no doubt that there was/is a physical aspect to the MIB phenomenon. I have no doubt that in many cases the mysterious interrogators may have been associated with the military, some black branch of the government–and in certain instances over-eager and possessive UFO researchers from civilian groups attempting to claim certain cases as their private property.
But I am also convinced that this phenomenon–like so many associated with the UFO enigma–also has a paranormal aspect that may very often become extremely powerful, perhaps overwhelmingly so, to the investigator who has not prepared himself carefully for the remarkably complex interlocking realities of the UFO mystery.

In the spring of 1968, a magazine writer asked me to come along as an expert observer on an interview with a contactee who claimed a particularly vivid experience aboard a flying saucer. We left on a Friday, planning to spend the weekend in a motel, and since the contactee lived in a large city with numerous motels, we did not make any reservations.
At the same time, since I had been hearing rather eerie reports about the harassment of UFO researchers, I had decided to pick a motel at random and not even tell our wives where we were staying. To check with our respective homes and be certain all was well, we agreed to call from pay telephones, rather than the telephone in the room.
We met the contactee, recorded his most interesting (and greatly convincing) story, and returned to our homes three days later.

Shortly after I had returned home (I had 200 miles farther to travel than the magazine writer), I received a telephone call from him. In very disturbed tones he told me he had received a call from a rather unctuous (if anonymous) individual who had detailed our every action of the past few days, including the name of the motel we had stayed in and the food we had ordered for our meals. The writer concluded that all the time that we thought we had been carefully covering our tracks, we had been under close surveillance.
A few days later, after midnight, the writer telephoned me again, obviously distraught. Books had been jumping off the shelves in his office, he told me. He was aware of mysterious presences. On two nights he had been awakened by a smallish man cloaked in shimmering light, who, like some intergalactic traveling evangelist, attempted to sell him on the idea of working with them in their cause. “Become one of our workers in the vineyard of Earth,” my friend claimed to have been proselytized. “Join us. Work with us.”
****************************************************************
It was about that time that crucial data that fellow UFO researchers had sent to me in the mail either never arrived or came on the scene days later than the postmark would indicate that it should. All sorts of mail began to arrive taped shut with “Opened by Mistake” either stamped or written on the envelopes. On the other hand, some pieces arrived overnight from great distances–without a postmark.

Once while speaking to a fellow researcher on the telephone, our conversation was interrupted by a metallic-sounding voice chanting: “Ho, ho, UFO!”

Strangely enough, my friends seemed to endure the most peculiar telephone nonsense. An officer in the Navy Reserves, who had expressed an interest in the UFO enigma, finally asked me please not to discuss UFO’s with him on the telephone ever again. Both at the office and at home, he found he was “sharing” his private line with some undetermined other parties. On two occasions when I had been speaking with him, a voice had broken in, mumbled a few words, then apologized for the intrusion. His wife absolutely refused to permit me to discuss the subject in her presence because of the bad dreams she had been suffering in connection with UFO’s.

n another city a businessman who had been doing a great deal of research on my behalf told of the time when he was anticipating a visit from me. He picked up the telephone to make a call on his private line, only to hear the following bit of conversation:
“Has he arrived in town yet?”
“Not yet.”
“What motel will he be staying in’”
“The [correct name of the motel in which I had made reservations].
“Don’t worry. Everything is set.”
At this point my friend broke in and asked who the hell was on his private line. There was a stunned silence, a click, then the steady buzzing that indicated a clear line.
****************************************************************
One may build a case, I suppose, that any or all of the above was simply a series of rather remarkable coincidences.

The following incident is a bit more difficult to explain away, however.
A friend of mine was traveling in England before continuing on to Vietnam to visit his son in the armed forces. He was walking near a railway station in London when he noticed three men dressed completely in black staring at him.

When my friend returned their collective stare, they approached him and asked him which train they should take for such-and-such a city. My friend calmly pointed out that he was a tourist, and it made a good deal more sense for them to ask at the information booth just a few feet away.

My friend turned on his heel and walked away from the odd trio, but a glance over his shoulder told him that they were still standing there staring at him, disregarding his advice to check with the information booth. Suddenly ill at ease, my friend hailed a taxi and went directly to his hotel.

When he got to his room, an uncomfortable sensation prickled the back of his neck and he glanced out his window.

On the street corner, looking up at his room, were the three men. Baffled, he tried to push the incident from his mind.

A day or so later, though, he was confronted by one of the men as he walked to his hotel who told him straight out: “You are a friend of Brad Steiger. Tell him we shall visit him by Christmas.”

My friend had only a peripheral knowledge of the UFO can of worms, but he returned to his hotel room and wrote me a long letter with the above details. How could three odd little guys in London know that he was a friend of mine?
***************************************************************
Not long after I had received his letter, I visited an associate in another city and told him about the bizarre experience that my friend had encountered in London.
“Humph!” Jim snorted over the lunch we were sharing. “If those monkeys come to see you this Christmas, send ‘em down to talk to me. I’d love to get one of those characters in my hands. I would solve this man-in-black mystery you’ve been telling me about!”
I warned him that he had better be careful or he might get his wish.
Later, Jim told me that I had no sooner started my homeward journey than he was told that a gentleman wished to see him. A secretary ushered a man of average height into Jim’s office–a man, my friend said, who was the thinnest human being he had ever seen.
“He was cadaverous, Brad,” Jim told me. “But he seemed alert enough, and so involved in his mission that he ignored my offered hand of greeting. In fact, I tried to push shaking his hand, but he refused to touch me.

“‘I hear you want to be the head of UFO’s in Iowa,’ he said quickly.

“He took out a wallet, flipped it open, then shut, before I could see any identification. I can’t really recall anything else he said, because it was all so damned nonsensical. Soon he was gone, and I was still sitting there dumbfounded.

“I jumped to my feet, though, when I heard his car starting. I got a good look at his automobile, and I wrote down its license number. I can’t tel1 you what make of car it was. It looked like a combination of three or four different makes and models, but it didn’t real1y look like anything I had ever seen before. And the license number didn’t check. The Highway Patrol said there was no such Iowa plate registered. A friend in another branch of state government, who owed me a favor, said the plate wasn’t registered to any government agent, either.”
***************************************************************
Steve, a UFO investigator, had an experience with unidentified and mysterious interrogators in September, 1966. He was working the night shift in a large pulp-and-paper plant in northern Michigan when he was paid an enigmatic visit by two dark-complexioned men dressed completely in black.

”The first thing to come to my mind was the odd hour of the visit–three o’clock in the morning–and the rather puzzling appearance of the intruders,” Steve told me.
The two men asked him about the UFO case that he was investigating, but Steve played it cautiously and told them he had given up flying saucer research.

“The two evidently seemed satisfied with my replies, for they suddenly turned and walked out of the room. By this time I had an inkling of who they were–or rather, who they were not. (My first impression was that they were from the government.) I jumped up from my chair and hurried out the door in pursuit–not more than twenty seconds behind them.

“Upon reaching the doorway, I paused and looked down the corridor. They could only have gone in one direction–but they were not in sight. They had vanished.
“I moved forward slowly. About ten feet from the door I experienced an odd feeling–a sense of dissipated energy, or a residual electrical current, somewhat akin to the sensation one experiences when standing in a very powerful magnetic field. I rechecked the spot every few minutes, and noticed it ebb and fade) until it was completely unnoticeable in half an hour.

“I talked with fellow workers in and around the building in which I was working, and they reported seeing no one. Checks with the plant guard substantiated my belief–no one had signed in at the industrial complex that night.”
***************************************************************
Although I didn’t become as deeply embroiled in MIB activities as certain of my fellow researchers, I did tread on the periphery of their vortex of swirling, nightmarish games. And from time to time I did slip into the court where the contest was being played. I endured the “smellies”–vile, odorous attacks of some invisible entity not in the least concerned about personal hygiene. And closely associated with the disagreeable odors were regular poltergeistic plunderings of my office.

But then I stumbled on a clue that may just solve the puzzle of who at least some of the MIB might really be.

The revelation occurred one night as I sat in my office, desperately working over Lucretia, my faithful 1923 Underwood typewriter. I heard the heavy sound of footsteps at the top of the stairs. A quick glance told me that no one was there.

A favorite painting of Edgar Allan Poe fell to the floor. I became irritated. I had to work to meet a deadline on a magazine article. I had no time to play.

Papers began to rustle off to my side. A single sheet became airborne.
I had had enough. I looked up from my typewriter, rolled my eyes upward in disgust, and shouted: “Just cut it the hell out!”

Everything stopped. There was literally the sound of silence. I experienced the same kind of sensation one has when he walks into a crowded, noisy room, and everyone suddenly stops talking. The very air seemed less crowded and oppressive. I went back to my writing without taking any further notice of anything other than the work at hand.
Every kind of intelligence, regardless of how high or how low, wishes to be recognized. Nothing shuts up any thinking entity faster than to ignore it.

But I hadn’t ignored it. Rather, I had commanded this poltergeistlike force. I had refused to go along with its framework of reality, and my own change of attitude—-from passive fear to rage—-had apparently done the trick.

In weeks to come I wondered about the other less fortunate victims of both poltergeists and the MIB. Had they had simply gone along with the “game,” refusing to see themselves as the equals of their otherworldly adversaries? The cessation of odd activity in my office had been so abrupt that it was almost like some kind of lesson was terminated. Could it be that some intelligence was trying to teach me something all along–and satisfied that I had learned it, departed to seek out other pupils? If so, what was the lesson exactly? What had I done right?
****************************************************************
Not long after my “lesson,” I sat one evening reminiscing with a farm family who had endured the entire gamut of the flying saucer mystery.

UFO’s had become a part of this family’s life several years before when one of its male members became a “channel” for an entity who claimed to be from another world. The invisible telepathic being had begun communicating with the entire family because they had been “selected before they had been born” to assist him in doing “His” work and in protecting Earth from another group of intelligences who sought to enslave humankind.
The communicating entity led the various members of the family circle on a number of “assignments” designed to save the Earth and to serve the benign entity and his kind. But always, the entity warned them, there was the enemy group with its men in black, seeking whom they might devour.

The family, who became “flying saucer missionaries,” saw mysterious fellow passengers board airplanes with them–then disappear somewhere in mid-flight. Automobiles appeared out of nowhere to follow and harass them.

A man claiming to be from a state educational division arrived at the high school and talked for over an hour with one of the teenaged girl members of the family. The only questions he asked had to do with whether or not she would be able to recognize a spy. When suspicious adult members of the beleaguered family checked with school administrators, they were informed that they had no knowledge of such a man nor of such a division within the state educational system.

The girl who had been interrogated by the unidentified man also developed into a “channel” for the communicating entity, and soon several members of the family were practicing automatic writing.

UFO’s swooped low overhead at night. Eerie lights were seen to dance about in the fields. Invisible entities snatched keys from their resting places and jangled them about the room, terrifying the children. Unseen hands lifted a mattress on which one couple lay sleeping, under which were some “secret” papers that the principal communicating entity had dictated.

Their farm work was being ignored. Their lives had become a living nightmare in which every stranger was suspect, every sound in the night that of an invader, every strange coincidence imbued with desperate and weighty significance.
At last the full realization that they had been deceived–that they had been led into a silly game–jolted them into determined action. They too said collectively, in essence: “Cut it the hell out!” And they resumed meaningful living.
****************************************************************
I have advised many beginning “ghost hunters” or UFO researchers that when one feels himself set upon by marauding entities and begins to cross himself, recite prayers, sing hymns, or bellows out his favorite rock song, he “jams” the frequency in his brain on which the entities have been trying to establish contact and control. It may well be that a determined demand to “Knock it off!” might have the same frequency-jamming effect and permit the percipient of the phenomenon to regain control of his own cerebral equipment.

Whenever I review those days of UFO yesteryear when there seemed to be men in black lurking in every shadow, I am also led to think of the mythological figure common to all cultures and known generically to ethnologists as the Trickster. The Trickster plays pranks upon humankind, but often at the same time he is instructing them or transforming aspects of the world for the benefit of his human charges.

Most cultures view the Trickster as a primordial being who came into existence soon after the creation of the world. A number of Amerindian tribes referred to their Trickster figure as “Old Man,” because they saw him as someone who was ageless, as old as time.
The Trickster is usually viewed as a supernatural being with the ability to change his shape at will. Although basically wily, he may behave in a very stupid, childish manner at times, and may often end up as the one who is tricked. The Trickster lies, cheats, and steals without compunction. He seems often to be the very essence of amoral animalism.
The Trickster figure is often credited with bringing death and pain into the world; yet, in some recitations, his own son was the first to die as a result.

Because of his introduction of death to the world and because of his animalistic and amoral attributes, the Trickster is sometimes identified with the Devil as a personification of evil. Carl Jung saw the Trickster as a mythological shadow figure who provides the reverse image of the saint, the angel. The animalistic Trickster serves as the impish, dark opposite of the bright conscious mind and establishes a balance without which psychic wholeness may not be achieved. Sounds like the poltergeist or MIB, certainly. And yet, most cultures do not cast the Trickster in the role of the Evil One. He is often seen as a once high god cast down from the heights of pure divinity.

In an article on the Trickster figure in Man, Myth and Magic, Douglas Hill writes that the many tales of the Trickster blend and fuse. “Trickster is comic relief; he is psychic catharsis on a deep and vital level; he is a hero whose own evolution perhaps mirrors that of humankind toward a higher consciousness and social maturity. And, embodying all these essentials, he is deathless–no ethnological museum piece but just as alive and flourishing today as in the primeval past.”

Hi guys,
Just wanted to add another incident. Some time back in the 60s, in Darwin, the capital ‘city’ of the Northern Territory, in Australia, a large UFO hovered for hours over the city. Thousands of people watched it, the papers reported it etc etc. I know a lady who worked in the govt radio station up there at the time, and she told me that a day or two later, two strange men from ‘Washington’ came to Darwin, and spent a day or two visiting all the key witnesses and some media reporters, and did the usual intimidation, ‘don’t talk about it or else’, ‘national security’ etc etc.

It was doubly strange to see these classic MIBs, complete with black car and darkened windows in Darwin, because up there it is always really hot and humid, and no kidding, everyone up there wears stubbies (work shorts, t-shirts, and thongs (I mean flip-flops, not G-strings) – so two guys wearing full suit and hats, all black, stood out like the proverbial dog’s balls – LOL.

If you want I can get the full details from the lady from the radio station, but that is just one of the many MIBs from that era here in Australia.
best wishes always

PS:
For what it is worth, when I brought Linda Moulton-Howe to Australia in the 90s, to show her info about cattle mutilations across the USA, she got to appear on a national, prime-time current affairs show (very high rating one), where she presented her research in brief to the nation.
The response was amazing. All the next day, the TV station received calls from farmers and vets in outback regions, all saying that they had had this stuff happen to some of their livestock.
Just to show that the popular stuff that appears in the USA, is not just confined to the USA.
best

BELOW ARE MORE HPI STORIES FROM THE HPI ARCHIVES!

A Visitation
It was October or November 2003 I don’t remember exactly; I was living alone, the first time in many years, and by this time it had been about 5 months. On top of the divorce, I experienced a devastating betrayal at the hands of my boyfriend. I was trying very hard to keep it all together, resolve things. I can honestly say it was the worst and most pain filled period of my life.

For once I was having a pretty good night, mood was up and I was online chatting with friends and enjoying myself. I felt this presence, I turned and looked and there about 3 feet from me were 2 figures. Clear as day, there they were, the ghosts of my Grandmother and Grandfather on my mother’s side. She was to the left and he was standing there next to her. They were both smiling and had a wonderful sparkle in their eyes. I could feel the love and I could feel them. They took a step forward, my grandfather just continued smiling softly; he always was a quiet man. My grandmother leaned forward just a bit and very sweetly and softly said “We’re proud of you”. I smiled and a tear fell. They hugged me and left. I physically saw and felt them.

Tiffany Cameron Story
Although having many other experiences growing up and over the years I would have never thought of being visited by a loved one that had passed. For the longest time I didn’t tell anyone outside of my friends online; I didn’t want people to think I was insane. Then, about 2 years or so ago my mother and I were talking about ghosts and other things when mentioned this experience. She came alive in a strange way and asked me when it was and was I sure? I told her the story again and the she said I must have needed them.

I think about it now and then and it always makes me feel comforted, secure, and loved. I know for a fact I will never be alone even in the darkest of my hours. If that makes me crazy, so be it.

yes well it was when my youngest daughter Hailei was born we were living in an old apartment in fair oaks area of Sacramento and we were all asleep I woke up to the TV being on in the living room so I got up shut it off and went back to bed as I laid down I saw a lady standing there hold a baby looking at my baby then all of a sudden her baby was gone and she was crying I asked her what happened to her baby but she just diapered. Also in that same apartment there would be big had prints smeared down are mirror we would wipe them away and they always came right back. When my oldest daughter was born I brought her home and put her in the crib and laid down when I got up to check on her my grandfather that passed away about 3 months earlier was standing over my daughter watching her I just smiled at him and went back to sleep. That is all that has really happened to me and thank you again for coming down here and checking out are place.

Story Of A Man Who Tried To Perform An Exorcism On The Loch Ness Monster

Story Of A Man Who Tried To Perform An Exorcism On The Loch Ness Monster

(Before It's News)

Ted Holiday was a Fortean researcher who died in 1979 and who was particularly associated with research into Nessie. His intellectual development (or regression from some perspectives) saw him change from: a believer in a physical Nessie (albeit with the mystery creature starring as a large slug rather than a dinosaur); to believing, instead, in a hybrid slug Jungian archetype in a 1972 book; to believing finally in an entirely ‘spiritual’ phenomenon (whatever that actually means): this final position was set out in his post-mortem book The Goblin Universe. An important part of this evolving belief were his readings of reports concerned with UFOs and other unusual phenomena at the lake. He was inclined to dismiss these at first as ‘psychotic bunk’, but eventually got involved in bringing a Devon clergyman Donald Omand to the loch to dismiss the evil spiritual Nessie.  Donald Omand was an ambitious exorcist. He, in a colourful lifetime, exorcised the Bermuda Triangle, the Black Dog of Kettleness and Nessie.

  • The exorcism took place in the early evening of June 2 [1973]. Our rendezvous was Strone, the house of Wing Commander [Cary] and Mrs Cary out on the rocky point above Urquhart Castle where we had arranged to use a couple of caravan-trailers. Donald Omand arrived during the afternoon in car driven by his photographer. They were preceded by a red sports car carrying his aide, Captain Tony Artus, a serving artillery officer on short leave from Colchester Barracks. We soon foregathered in the Cary’s drawing room to look at maps.

The team – do any photographs survive and why would an exorcist need a photographer: drbeachcombing AT yahoo DOT com decided to carry out five rites, one at each extremity and one in the middle. Basil Cary lent his boats out. They went quickly because of the fear the BBC would pick up on it, the BBC were Nessie mad in this period.

  • I went with Tony Artus to point the route and locate the spot where each ceremony would take place, since I knew the topography by heart. The first stop was the beach at Lochend. As we trooped across the pebble bank, a chill wind blew up Loch Ness and cast two-foot waves onto the beach. Donald Omand asked us to kneel, one by one, for a protective ceremony. This consisted of a brief benediction followed by the application of holy water in the form of a cross to the foreheads of the participants. In view of what happened later, this symbolic act seemed curiously significant [more on this below].

Approaching the water’s edge, Dr Ormand began to deliver the exorcism rite in a low voice which was often drowned by the slice and drag of the undertow hauling at the pebbles… the salient part ran thus. ‘Grant that by the power entrusted to Thy unworthy servant, this highland loch and the land adjoining it may be delivered from all evil spirits; all vain imaginations; projections and fantasms; and all deceits of the evil one. O Lord, subject them to Thy servant’s commands that, at his bidding, they will harm neither man nor beast, but depart to the place appointed them, there to remain forever [sic].’

He then shook holy water into the Loch. TH reflects on the feeling of being involved in the third phase of the ceremon

  • I am not formally religious. I would define myself as a progressive agnostic. Yet I felt a distinct tension creep into the atmosphere at this point. It was as if we have shifted some invisible levers, and were awaiting the result. I squinted narrowly at the shadows on Loch Ness looking for the blackness which betokens an incipent monster, but there was nothing. Donald’s photographer was beginning to look strained. Tony Artus had settled into a long silence. Only Donald seemed completely unaffected. He still had bright energy, and the far-away distracted look I had seen in Devon was in his eye.

They finally got into a boat and rowed out into deep waters. Ted Holiday asked why:

  • Earlier I had questioned the need to do to the middle of Loch Ness. Donald had explained that it was for the same reason that he enters the cage of the circus big cats when exorsising them [WtH!]. An exorcism performed through the bars is useless. Only by standing close in front of the animals and trusting the power you are invoking is the rite made effective. Thus we pulled outwards until Dr Omand said that this was far enough.

Before TH had described Donald Omand’s energy. Now he feared for the man, who seemed, on completing the fifth exorcism, to be on the verge of fainting. Omand himself commented later that this sort of ‘weak’ episode always followed a ‘successful exorcism’. The story was not over though and here we plunge into TH’s own psychic universe: funny to think that just 10 years before TH had been looking at fossils and quoting scientific articles in an effort to solve the mystery of Ness. TH visited the Cary’s house, where the caravans were based, and there talked to Mrs Cary who was consdered a psychic. Both were struck by a strange manifestation, though both, as so often happens in these matters, saw rather different things through the window.  TH saw ‘a pyramid-shaped column about eight feet high revolving in a frenzy’: TH almost certainly didn’t know this but fairy lore in this part of Scotland is associated with whirlwinds. Mrs Cary saw something at the window ‘although I didn’t see exactly what it was’. And then she saw a beam of light zap into TH’s forehead! This manifestation was naturally understood as Nessie fighting back and Dr Omand said, he was awoken from his sleep by the concerned Holiday, that ‘reactionary manifestations’ were to be expected. The next morning TH had a further experience that is included here just because it has the makings of a very short but rather good horror story. Walking out of the house, past the caravan where Omand was sleeping, TH saw ‘a figure’, that sounds suspiciously like a Hells Angel.

  • It was a man dressed entirely in black. Unlike other walkers who sometimes pause along here to admire the Loch Ness panorama, this one had his back to the loch. He was staring at me fixedly as soon as I turned the story. Indeed, to all appearances he was waiting for me. We were about 30 yards apart, and for several seconds I just stared back wondering who the hell this was. Simultaneously, I felt a strong sensation of malevolence, cold and passionless… I walked forward warily, never taking my eyes off the figure. He was about six feet tall and appeared to be dressed in black leather or plastic. He wore a helmet and gloves and was masked, even to the nose, mouth and chin. The eyes were covered in goggles, but on closer approach, I could detect no eyes behind the lenses. The figure remained motionless as I approached except possibly for a slight stirring of the feet. It didn’t speak and I could hear no breathing. I drew level and hesitated slightly, uncertain what to do next, then walked past at a range of about a yard. I stopped a few feet beyond him and gazed at Loch Ness.

TH turned around and the man had vanished: ‘No living person could have gotten out of sight so quickly.’ The next year Holiday returned to Ness and had a heart attack. ‘As a stretcher carried me up the side of the Loch, I peered groggily over the side and noted with cynical approval that we had just passed over the exact spot where the man in black had stood the previous year’. So there! Avoid exorcising pleiosauri.

IT WALKED TOWARDS ME

Location: Southern Illinois – 3/1995 – 1:15 am

I was on my way home from work driving down a country road with a gravel pit on one side, and forest on the other. In my headlights, I saw something in the clearing between the forest and the road. At first I thought it was a deer, I slowed down in case it started to run into the road. As I got closer, I noticed it was walking on two legs. My first thought at this point was that there was a car accident from up ahead, and this person was looking for help.

At first I was confused, an animal or person. As I approached and lowered my window, I realized that it was not a person or animal I got goosebumps which lasted for about 30 seconds. It stood as high as may car, it had a very thin body, covered in a white or semi-transparent material. The legs and arms were very thin and long. The head was slightly larger than a human, with black eyes, no nose, and a slit where the mouth would be. It moved in an erratic manner as it entered the road, then it turned, saw me and began walking toward my car with an almost spider-like walk.

When it got to within 5-7 feet on the driver’s side, I got really spooked, and drove away. As I drove away, I kept thinking that there was a car accident ahead. There was nothing, and that is the time I realized that something really weird was happening. For the next week I had a hard time making a logical decision as to what I had seen. I told my wife several days later, and she said that I had been acting different.

THE INVISIBLE MAN

Location: Tambunan, Keningan, Malaysia – February 18, 2001 – night

Yabi Gistubod had been reported missing and was later found sitting in a bush in a stupor. They gave him a medical check up, and he was found to be in good health. He told family members that he had encountered a strange man with a square body, who he believed was an alien. The man wanted him to go to a strange place. The night before he disappeared, he was wearing white and seemed to be floating just above the ground, according to his wife who touched his shirt and saw it turned black. Yabi then passed out. He vanished again on the 20th and was found 11 days later walking towards his home. He had his eyes closed and was communicating in sign language. According to his wife, Yabi became invisible the second night he vanished right before her eyes.

RUNNING MAN

Location: near Ajo, Arizona – Spring 2002 – 2:30 am

A 59 year-old man wondered about something or someone he saw one night while driving in the desert on the road to Ajo. He and his friends would go to Puerto Penasco, Mexico every year to fish and enjoy the sea of Cortez. To avoid the heat they would leave Colorado (San Luis Valley) about 3:00 pm and be on the road to Ajo about 3:00 am. His story:

This night I was driving a rental car and everyone else was asleep when I was passed by a naked man running in the opposite lane of the direction I was driving. He was barefoot and moving really fast! I looked in the rearview mirror as I hit the brakes to see if he needed help and he took off into the desert barefoot. As I kept driving I was looking for a car or someone who may have broken down on the road, but no one was to be seen…this really bothered me. The following year in the same area about the same time of the night I was sleeping in the backseat of the car when I woke up briefly and looked out the car window. I saw a very large dog carved out of stone similar to the Chinese stone carvings in a ditch along the highway! I believe I had seen something to do with skinwalkers but not sure.

UGLY HUMANOIDS

Location: Rauma Finland – June 19, 1979 – 12:30 am

The two witnesses that lived in a rural area were sitting in their living room with the window opened when one of them caught sight of a silvery gray metallic cupola shaped object resting on the ground not to far away. The bottom of the object was blue black in color and it was emitting a blue-black beam of light from its middle section. The beam briefly swept the nearby woods then switched off. Both witnesses had now seen the object and one of them decided to have a closer look. This witness walked very close to the object and was able to see that it rested on small metallic legs. The upper part of the object was transparent and inside two small humanoids could be seen.

These were described a very “ugly” with crooked beak like noses and covered with green brown spots, they had large bulging eyes, pointed chins, large mouths and pointed ears. Both wore shiny gray helmets with antennae with a yellow line on the middle. They also wore black gloves and clothing. The witness was also able to see numerous gauges and levers inside the object. The being nearest to the witness made a sudden move and the witness was suddenly blinded and fell back. The craft then took off emitting a whistling sound. The witness eyes were irritated for the next several hours and he was briefly in a state of shock.

WINGED SCORPION HUMANOIDS?

Location: Devil’s Swamp, Louisiana – June 8, 2000 – 6:30 am

41-year old Roger Mixon was hunting in an isolated and aptly named area when he came across a bizarre dark-purple color object the size of an 18-wheeler and shaped like a bat wing sitting on the ground. He could see a drawbridge type door that was opened and nearby saw three creatures attempting to capture an alligator. The beings wore what appeared to be crowns of gold had human-like faces and had long hair and sharp teeth like those of lions. They had breastplates resembling cast iron. One of the most bizarre features was the 4 wing-like protrusions and scorpion-like tail that each creature had. They did not see Mixon at first but when one spotted him he fired his 12-gauge shotgun hitting one in the chest knocking him down, but the creature quickly was on his feet again and apparently fired back with some type of implement that dangled from his waist. A beam like light struck the witness on his wrist leaving a scar. According to the witness he has lost most of the use of that arm as a result of the incident. He fired once more and the humanoids then rose up in the air and flew back inside the object. The door closed and it took off at lighting speed. The witness never hunted in those woods again.

FAMILY REUNION

LOCATION: Quebradillas, Puerto Rico – Summer 1996 – 5:00 PM

18-year-old Norberto Perez was at his aunt’s house for a family reunion when he began experiencing a strong headache and stomach discomfort. He then became very sleepy and decided to go to bed. At the moment that he closed his eyes he found himself in a strange metallic room on a cot-like bed, unable to move. Standing around him were four 4-foot tall humanoids, very thin and wearing tight fitting gold-colored outfits and gold sandals. They had long six fingered hands. Soon a door suddenly appeared in the metallic wall and a tall figure entered the room. This figure was described a man-like, very good looking, with white skin, and blond hair. He was surrounded by a bright light and wore a white long tunic up to his ankles, with silvery sandals. The witness noticed that the man wore a gold colored ring with the image of a pyramid imprinted on it. The tall blond male then approached him and one of the short humanoids handed him a transparent sphere that contained an electronic chip-like device. The sphere was placed over Perez’s forehead, and it floated, then it floated over different parts of his body then it vanished. At that moment the blond man approached him and apparently began communicating by using telepathy since he did not move his lips. He told the witness not to fear. The witness then asked why he was chosen and was told because “he had been born with a special type of energy.”

Soon the witness was able to move and he was taken into another room that seemed to be the control center. There he saw three of the short humanoids operating some consoles. Suddenly a huge screen became visible where he saw all the planets align. Then he saw the planet Earth but it appeared to be upside down. Then he saw something resembling a nuclear blast and much death and destruction. He was then warned that humanity was headed in that direction if we did not mend our ways.

Another door now became visible and the witness noticed what appeared to be dozens of domed disc-shaped objects, apparently in a huge hangar. The tall blonde-haired person noticed the witness looking at the objects then preceded to touch his forehead with a finger. At that moment the witness found himself back in bed. For three hours afterwards he was in a state of mental confusion.

UFO Exhibition in Myrtle Beach

An intergalactic space exhibition has landed again for another summer at Broadway at the Beach. “Encounters: UFO Experience,” off 29th Avenue in Myrtle Beach, near the Margararitaville restaurant, is open every day through Sept. 2.

Brian Bouquet, president and chief executive of The Event Agency in San Clemente, Calif., which oversaw the primary development and design of “Encounters,” said last week after his recent visit, that addition of seven more exhibits within the galleries were about complete, just in time for the summer tourist season.

Visitor feedback from last summer prompted bringing in extra interactive activities to engage children, Bouquet said, so parents would have more time to review and read about artifacts, replicas and summaries of people’s reports from their outer-worldly experiences. Read more Myrtle Beach Online

Katy Perry goes on the hunt for the Loch Ness Monster

Katy Perry went on the hunt for Nessie the Loch Ness Monster during her recent trip to Scotland.

The singer, who played at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro over the weekend, posted on her Twitter account  that she was going to go try to catch “Nessie”.

Yesterday, she tweeted to her 53.1million followers: “Imma go try n catch the Loch Ness monster today”.

However, the closest Katy got to the Nessie was buying his chocolate “remnants” from the gift shop.

After more than a year of no sightings, Nessie has been caught on camera for a second time in less than a month.

Last month, Scotland Now told you how photographs of a creature swimming below the surface of Loch Ness were captured by two different amateur Nessie hunters scanning different satellites transmitting images of the earth from space.

A week later an image recorded by sonar equipment aboard the flagship vessel of Inverness-based Jacobite Cruises, near Urquhart Castle, spotted another large object lurking underneath the water.

On Saturday night, Katy made brave little cancer patient Grace Newton’s dreams come true by inviting her backstage. – Scotland Now

Salem Witch Trials Truth

Supposedly, in the burgeoning Massachusetts town of Salem, ministers preaching fire and brimstone stoked religious fervor until it culminated in an explosion of violence, resulting in the witch trials and burning of dozens of innocent women and other marginalized citizens. However, very little of the conventional Salem narrative is true. The trials began at the insistence of the ordinary populace in an extreme form of mob justice and were stoked by the revelatory stories of Salem-area youth. The emphasis is on “area,” because the trials were hardly confined to Salem, extending into neighboring towns like Andover and Ipswich.

Interestingly, the accused were far from marginalized or downtrodden citizens. Prior to the trials, most of the accused “witches” and “warlocks” were prominent citizens and moderately wealthy. That was likely because accusers could benefit financially from a victim’s property in the event of a conviction. Both men and women were convicted and executed in the trials, but none were burned at the stake. All of the victims were hanged or died in prison, except one man who was crushed to death.

Lastly, contrary to the popular belief that equates the trials to a kind of American inquisition, church leaders and ministers actually encouraged reason and rationalism to end the bloodshed. Area ministers were the loudest proponents of the idea the trials should look for actual evidence rather than rely on such “witness” testimony as “I saw her look at my laundry, and the next day, it was stained.”

What Does Death Feel Like?

On July 28, 1976, the monstrous Tangshan earthquake caused more than 240,000 fatalities and 160,000 serious injuries. Medical workers in China did case studies on the survivors, most of whom had been buried under the rubble of collapsed buildings, to try and find out whether they had near-death experiences, and if so, how they felt.  The results were published in the journal Popular Medicine, Issue 5 (1993).

According to their recollections, more than half of the survivors reported that during the time they were in danger, not only were they not afraid, on the contrary, their minds were clear, calm and comfortable. In such a dangerous situation, there was no panic; some people even had feelings of happiness and thoughts running rapidly through their minds. Many different thoughts came up. At this moment, things that had happened in their earlier lives kept flashing back like a movie and the scenes were mostly happy ones. The recollections were of such things as funny moments during childhood, wedding ceremonies, and achievements and awards from work. This phenomenon is called life retrospection or “full-scale recollection.”

Even stranger, close to half of the people had the feeling and awareness that their consciousness or soul had left their bodies. Some of the people equated this with “the soul coming out from the shell.” They stressed that they had felt their supernormal capabilities were in another dimension outside their bodies, and not inside their brains. They thought that their physical bodies neither had these abilities nor the ability to think.

One-third of the people had the strange feeling of being inside a pipe or passing through a tunnel. Sometimes, it was accompanied with loud noises and the feeling of being pulled and compressed. They called it “the tunnel experience.” Some people had the feeling of getting to the end of the tunnel; they saw light and felt that “the light would come soon.”

About one-quarter of those surveyed experienced encountering incorporeal beings, or ghosts. Most of these unsubstantial beings were their relatives who had passed away. It was as though they had gone together to another world and continued to live there. Or, they saw living friends or even strangers. It seemed like a reunion. These “ghost-like” figures were sometimes described as being in some sort of “light” form. Some people looked at them as having been “transformed” according to concepts in religion.

From the survivors of the Tangshan earthquake, inquiring researchers came up with 81 useful survey interviews. They classified the experiences into 40 categories: looking back at one’s life, the separation of the consciousness and the body, feeling of weightlessness, feeling strangeness in one’s own body, feeling abnormal, the feeling of departing from the world, the feeling of one’s body being united with the universe, the feeling of time’s nonexistence, and many more. The majority of these people experienced two or more feelings at the same time.

Although the survey of survivors of the horrible Tangshan earthquake produced only 81 usable case studies of those experiencing near death experiences, this is the most data collected among all the research on near death experiences in the world. After their “return from death,” most of these people remembered clearly their near death experiences even after ten or twenty years. – The Epoch Times
