This professional photographer was recording some actors for a TV show in South Korea. When he looked back at his photos two had UFOs in them. The UFO is far behind the people...at least as far as the building or more. How do I know? Easy, the focus of the camera cannot be fooled. The distant objects are blurred, the close objects are super HD clear. So this UFO was big, and far away. 


However a concern I have is that this may be an advertising ploy to get more attention for their TV show, since they did mention its name. This remains a possibility.

It is really glad that I am writing a UFO report about my resent findings. Last Wednesday, 12th April, one of the our professional photographers took several series of continuous shooting, while taking a promotional poster of our newly launched drama of KBS in central Seoul, South Korea We are really surprised as well as thrilled that we captured a stunning moment that UFO was flying in front of our lens It was clear sky on that day and 7 out of 9 photos seem normal and only 3 of them captured black spots behind two actor and actress. They are attached files : CHA_2648, CHA_2688 and CHA_2689 The photographer has never acknowledged that he captured UFO-like object while shooting and there was no suspicious smell nor sound came out on the shooting site. With the photographer, there were other directors and crews making the drama and they have not acknowledged the fact he took photos of UFO either. We have tried our best what he has taken and what they are, but there was no specialist in South Korea, who is able to investigate the photographed UFO at this moment. We would love you to have a look at those photos and if you find something suspicious, please inform me whether it is really UFOs or not through this email. It is really thankful that your dedication to defining UFO in advance.

Saturn's adorable UFO-shaped moon, Atlas, gets a close-up

Can a moon be cute? If you're a tiny Saturn moon that resembles a flying saucer, the answer is "Yes!"

Sorry, folks, this isn't an actual UFO.

Saturn's minuscule moon Atlas is one of the smallest among the ringed planet's massive collection that includes dozens of satellites. NASA's Cassini spacecraft snapped some new images of Atlas on Wednesday from a distance of just 7,000 miles (11,000 kilometers) away, giving us our closest look at the goofy little moon.

Atlas is just 19 miles (30 kilometers) across. Compare that to Saturn's largest moon, Titan, which is 3,200 miles (5,150 kilometers) across. Atlas has a distinctive central bulge, leading NASA to give it the "flying-saucer" moon nickname.

Atlas has made cameo appearances in Cassini pictures before, where it can be seen hiding in Saturn's rings, dwarfed by its much larger brethren. Atlas bears a passing resemblance to another itsy-bitsy moon named Pan. Pan, however, looks more like a ravioli than a UFO.

Cassini isn't long for this solar system. The NASA craft, which originally launched in 1997, is scheduled to end its mission later this year when it plunges into Saturn's atmosphere.

'Houston, we have a problem'. Heel Amerika gebruikt al decennialang deze quote voor om het even wat er enigszins verkeerd loopt. Ook in onze contreien tiert de iconische uitspraak welig. Maar... er is inderdaad een probleem: ze klopt historisch gezien niet.

Op 13 april 1970 - gisteren 47 jaar geleden - kreeg de Apollo 13 op weg naar de maan af te rekenen met een explosie aan boord. Een ernstig probleem uiteraard voor astronauten Jim Lovell (commandant), Jack Swigert (piloot van de commando-module) en Fred Haise (piloot van de maanlander). Swigert rapporteerde als eerste aan de basis op aarde: "Okay, Houson, we've had a problem here" (Oké, Houston, we hebben hier een probleem gehad). De controlekamer antwoordde: "This is Houston. Say again, please." (Houston hier, herhaal eens alsjeblief). Waarop Lovell in de ruimte overnam en zei: "Uh, Houston, we've had a problem".

Dat is woordelijk het gesprek zoals het toen in werkelijkheid plaatsvond. Niemand zei dus "Houston, we hebben een probleem", maar wél "We hebben een probleem gehad". Een taalkundig nuanceverschil: de astronauten gaven zo aan dat het probleem achter hen lag, wat dan ook weer niet klopte, want de missie moest afgebroken worden.

Volgens de Houston Chronicle is de foutieve quote te wijten aan de film 'Apollo 13' uit 1995 van regisseur Ron Howard. Acteur Tom Hanks spreekt daarin wel degelijk de zin 'Houston, we have a problem' uit, wat cinematografisch veel spannender is omdat het euvel zich - ook taalkundig - op dat moment nog altijd aan het afspelen is. Een van de scenaristen, William Broyles Jr., gaf toe dat hij daarom de historische melding wijzigde.

Taalkundeprofessor Naomi S Baron zegt dat het bovendien logisch is dat in de film het woordje 'okay' werd weggelaten. Dat was wel nuttig voor de controlepost in Houston om hun aandacht te trekken maar niet meteen voor de filmkijker. Baron dacht overigens zelf altijd dat de uitspraak correct geciteerd werd, tot ze deze week door de Washington Post om haar linguïstische interpretatie werd gevraagd.

De film met Tom Hanks is dus de schuldige? Toch niet. In 1983 was 'Houston, we have a problem' de titel van een wekelijkse radio-uitzending van NASA zelf. Maar ook dáár zou niet de oorsprong van de aangepaste quote liggen. De zinsnede gaat nóg verder terug in de tijd. In 1974 al bracht Universal Television een tv-film uit over de missie van de Apollo 13. Aan de Washington Post zei de ontgoochelde astronaut Lovell daarover dat die "fictief" was en "van slechte smaak getuigde". De titel van de tv-film? Die luidde: "Houston, we have a problem".

Iconische uitspraak van de eerste man op de maan (missie Apollo 11), Neil Armstrong, in 1969. Heetwaterbronnen op Saturnusmaan Enceladus maken leven mogelijk - HLN.be

Op Enceladus, de zesde maan van Saturnus, zijn onderzeese heetwaterbronnen ontdekt die damppluimen met waterstofmoleculen het heelal inspuiten. Enceladus heeft zo "sommige van de ingrediënten die nodig zijn voor een leefbare omgeving", aldus NASA. Kortom: buitenaards leven is er in principe mogelijk. Enceladus en Jupiters maan Europa zijn de twee oceaanwerelden in ons zonnestelsel waar de kans op buitenaards leven het grootst is.

De waterstofgassen moéten volgens wetenschappers wel een energiebronnen als oorsprong hebben in de kilometers diepe oceaan die zich onder het bevroren ijsoppervlak van Enceladus bevindt. 

In 2004 ontdekte de planeetverkenner Cassini al een soort van geisers die dampen spoten vanuit de oceaan door scheuren in het ijs. Op 28 oktober 2015 vloog Cassini dwars door die geiserdampen en kon zo meten dat ze onder meer watersof bevatten. Wetenschappers gaan ervan uit dat de hydrothermale bronnen op de bodem van de oceaan de waterstofmoleculen doen ontstaan door reacties van het hete water met mineralen in de bodem. Ook chemische methaan kan zo ontstaan en zou micro-organismen kunnen ondersteunen.

Op onze planeet staat dat soort van gelijkaardige bronnen alvast garant voor allerlei leven, dat geen zonlicht behoeft. Dat zou dus ook mogelijk kunnen zijn op de Saturnusmaan. Maar bewijs van buitenaards leven op de Enceladus is er nog niet gevonden.

UFO-Like Strange Clouds Returning to Wyoming

By now most people have had about enough of the winter the skies that blanket Wyoming each time a front moves through. But as we move into spring, and then summer, the types of cloud formations that we see begin to change. A few are unique to Wyoming.

Some of the regional clouds might explain the occasional Wyoming UFO sighting. The website Astronomy Picture Of The Day posted a strange disc-like shape moving across the sky, with a tail that almost made it look like a comet. According to National UFO Reporting Center State Report Index For WY, people were actually reporting weather anomalies.

The weather chasers called Base Hunters captured the massive hanging and ominous dark cloud in the video, above. It caused quite a stir, both locally and online when a thunderstorm developed into a supercell near Clareton, Wyoming.

Massive thunderstorms, called supercells, are most common across the great planes and generally cause two reactions: 1. ‘WOW I have to stand here and watch this!” Which quickly becomes 2., “WOW – Why am I still standing here?”

Some clouds are mostly not clouds. A weather event called virga happens when a smaller cloud starts dumping rain before it ever had a chance to build into a thunder storm. You know virga when you see long wisps of bending mist pouring out of the bottom of the cloud and reaching toward the ground, but never quite making it.

There will be a lot of interesting things to see in the Wyoming sky this summer. As Jack Horkheimer used to say, “Just keep looking up.”

Cloud Orb Over Istanbul, Turkey In Broad Day Light, Video, UFO Sighting News.

This UFO was only noticed because of its white cloud like appearance and the deep blue, cloudless sky behind it. The conditions were perfect for cloud orb hunting. They are hard to catch, even for an expert and may take weeks of hunting to catch a great one, but once you catch your first, your confidence grows, you give up less easily and you soon find another  not long after. Istanbul is no stranger to UFOs, being one of the oldest cultural sites on Earth, aliens find it fascinating how an older culture could still exist in this modern age.

Forestry Worker Experienced Chilly Morning With Aliens In Scotland

More than 30 years ago, forestry worker Robert Taylor claimed to have experienced a chilly November morning. What had happened on that morning has baffled all who have investigated the case, including the police, who consider it unexplained and keep the file open.

He arrived with his company-owned pickup truck as usual with his Irish red setter Larah. He walked down into the forest then rounded the path into a clearing. Suddenly, he saw what he described as a large dome-shaped object that left him to astonish. The size of the unusual object was around 20 to 30 feet circumference floating just 15 feet over the grassy surface, as Robert described.

Interestingly, the UFO seemed to disappear around the edges. The witness said that it somewhat dematerialized, which enabled him to see the trees behind the strange object, then solidified again. As he observed the event, two items that resembled WWII sea mines dropped from beneath the UFO and rolled towards him. However, before they reached him, he smelled like burning brake lines and heard a loud swishing noise.

As the “mines” rolled across, rods came out of them and attached themselves to his hips. They then pulled him towards the object.

After the pulling incident, Robert said that he lost consciousness and was not sure of the duration, but believed it could only have been for a minute or two.

When he got back for being conscious, the objects were nowhere to be found but left marks and holes on the ground. According to the investigations, there were over 20 triangular or circular indentations in the grass. Robert had an incredible thirst moments later. He also had a nasty graze on his chin and forehead.

Scientist Measures Brightness of the Universe with New Horizons Spacecraft

Images taken by NASA’s New Horizons mission on its way to Pluto, and now the Kuiper Belt, have given scientists an unexpected tool for measuring the brightness of all the galaxies in the universe, said a Rochester Institute of Technology researcher in a paper published this week in Nature Communications.

In the study, “Measurement of the Cosmic Optical Background using the Long Range Reconnaissance Imager on New Horizons,” lead author Michael Zemcov used archival data from the instrument onboard New Horizons—the Long Range Reconnaissance Imager, or LORRI—to measure visible light from other galaxies. The light shining beyond the Milky Way is known as the cosmic optical background. Zemcov’s findings give an upper limit to the amount of light in the cosmic optical background.

“Determining how much light comes from all the galaxies beyond our own Milky Way galaxy has been a stubborn challenge in observational astrophysics,” said Zemcov, assistant professor in RIT’s School of Physics and Astronomy and member of RIT’s Center for Detectors and Future Photon Initiative.

Light from the cosmic optical background can reveal the number and location of stars, how galaxies work and give insights into the peculiar nature of exotic physical processes, such as light that may be produced when dark matter decays. Dark matter is the invisible substance thought to comprise 85 percent of matter in the universe.

“This result shows some of the promise of doing astronomy from the outer solar system,” Zemcov said. “What we’re seeing is that the optical background is completely consistent with the light from galaxies and we don’t see a need for a lot of extra brightness; whereas previous measurements from near the Earth need a lot of extra brightness. The study is proof that this kind of measurement is possible from the outer solar system, and that LORRI is capable of doing it.”

Spacecraft in the outer solar system give scientists virtual front-row seats for observing the cosmic optical background. The faint light from distant galaxies is hard to see from the inner solar system because it is polluted by the brightness of sunlight reflected off interplanetary dust in the inner solar system.

Cosmic dust is sooty bits of rock and small debris that moved, over time, from the outer solar system toward the sun. Scientists launching experiments on sounding rockets and satellites must account for the dust that makes the Earth’s atmosphere many times brighter than the cosmic optical background.

NASA’s New Horizons mission has been funded through 2021, and Zemcov is hopeful for the chance to use Long Range Reconnaissance Imager to re-measure the brightness of the cosmic optical background.

“NASA sends missions to the outer solar system once a decade or so,” Zemcov said. “What they send is typically going to planets and the instruments onboard are designed to look at them, not to do astrophysics. Measurements could be designed to optimize this technique while LORRI is still functioning.”

Zemcov’s method harkens back to NASA’s first long distance missions Pioneer 10 and 11 in 1972 and 1974. Light detectors on the instruments measured the brightness of objects outside the Milky Way and made the first direct benchmark of the cosmic optical background.

“With a carefully designed survey, we should be able to produce a definitive measurement of the diffuse light in the local universe and a tight constraint on the light from galaxies in the optical wavebands,” Zemcov said.

Archived data from New Horizon’s Long Range Reconnaissance Imager show “the power of LORRI for precise low-foreground measurements of the cosmic optical background,” Zemcov wrote in the paper.

Chi Nguyen, a Ph.D. student in RIT’s astrophysical sciences and technology program, mined data sets from New Horizons’ 2006 launch, Jupiter fly-by and cruise phase. She isolated four different spots on the sky between Jupiter and Uranus, captured in 20

07, 2008 and 2010, that met their criteria: looking away from the solar system and looking out the galaxy.

Poppy Immel, an undergraduate majoring in math and computer science, generated the data cuts and determined the photometric calibration of the instrument. Other co-authors include Asantha Cooray from University of California Irvine; Carey Lisee from Johns Hopkins University; and Andrew Poppe from UC Berkeley. Zemcov is affiliated with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

Hunt for Why We Exist Turns to Weird Atomic Decay

A never-before-seen type of radioactivity could explain why matter, including humans, exists today. And now a team of physicists has launched an experiment to find the oddball phenomenon.

When the universe first formed some 13.7 billion years ago, current theories say that equal amounts of matter and its bizarre cousin, antimatter, should have been produced during the Big Bang. Physicists know that when the two come into contact, they annihilate each other — poof. If that were the case, though, nothing should exist except photons and neutrinos. And yet, here we are. Calculations show there was a tiny bit more matter than antimatter — enough so that things exist — but why? 

One way to explain this matter-antimatter asymmetry is to look for some difference between the two, besides charge, that could explain matter's advantage. It's a big question in contemporary physics, because otherwise matter and antimatter should, per contemporary theories, behave the same way. [The 18 Biggest Unsolved Mysteries in Physics]

Weird neutrinos

In this new study, physicists are seeking so-called neutrinoless double-beta decay. Normally, some radioactive atoms' unstable nuclei will lose a neutron via beta decay — the neutron transforms into a proton by releasing an electron and a tiny particle called an electron antineutrino. A mirror image can also occur, in which a proton turns into a neutron, releasing a positron and an electron neutrino — the normal-matter counterpart to the antineutrino. Double-beta decay happens when two electrons and two antineutrinos (the antimatter counterparts of neutrinos) are released: basically, the beta decay happens twice. Scientists have long theorized a neutrinoless version of this process — something that would suggest that the two neutrinos annihilated each other before being released from the atom. Essentially, the neutrino behaves as its own antimatter sibling.

(Particles of matter that are their own antiparticles are called Majorana fermions, after the Italian physicist Ettore Majorana, who hypothesized their existence in 1937.)

If neutrinos and antineutrinos behave differently from each other, that could help to explain why all matter wasn't annihilated at the instant the universe formed. [5 Elusive Particles That May Lurk in the Universe]

Detecting decay

Finding this odd event though, is hard to do, because there's so much background "noise," said Bernhard Schwingenheuer, the spokesman for the GERmanium Detector Array (GERDA) collaboration. The background "noise" comes largely from cosmic rays.

In the experiment, physicists had to account for background noise, mostly from cosmic rays. So they covered the inner walls of the water tank surrounding the liquid argon with a reflecting foil to improve light detection and allow for the identification of cosmic muons (formed when cosmic rays interact with Earth's atmosphere).

So the physicists turned to GERDA. Nestled in an underground lab in Italy, the GERDA experiment consists of detectors in a bath of liquid argon that is enriched with the isotope germanium-76, which is mildly radioactive. It has a half-life of 1.78 x 10²¹ years (or 1.78 billion trillion years) — meaning that it takes that amount of time for half of its atoms to turn into selenium, which is many orders of magnitude longer than the universe's 14-billion-year age.

Usually, germanium will emit two electrons and two electron antineutrinos — the ordinary double-beta process — when it transforms via its slow decay. The physicists wanted to see if this ever happens without releasing the neutrinos: the long-sought neutrinoless double-beta decay.

With such a long half-life, one might think it would take too long to see this happen, but a half-life is a probabilistic phenomenon. This is why the experimenters used some 84 lbs. of germanium mixed with the liquid argon: that yields about 4.5 x 10²⁵ (or 45 trillion trillion) atoms, which means at least a few of them should undergo the decay while scientists are watching.

The GERDA team gathered data for about seven months, from December 2015 until June 2016. They didn't find the decay, but they could put a lower limit on how often the decay happens: It has a half-life of 5.3 x 10²⁵years, which means you'd have a 50-50 chance of seeing a single atom do it in that amount of time.

Extending the Standard Model

If they find it, that would mean that neutrinos are their own antiparticle, like photons — the neutrinoless decay couldn't happen unless that were the case. It also means that this kind of radioactive decay is not symmetrical. Recall that beta decay has a mirror image — either electrons and antineutrinos or positrons and neutrinos are emitted. If the double-beta decay isn't symmetrical, that means that neutrinos and antineutrinos behave differently. This isn't true of other kinds of particle-antiparticle pairs, as far as anyone knows.

This phenomenon would affect the Standard Model, which has been a wildly successful way to describe particle physics, but it's clearly incomplete. The model predicted the existence of the Higgs boson particle. However, Schwingenheuer noted that there is evidence that neutrinos have a tiny mass (only discovered in 1998, which won the Nobel in 2015) and that dark matter exists — indicating that the Standard Model isn't the last word.

"If neutrinoless double-beta decay is observed, it helps solve a couple of problems," said Philip Barbeau, an assistant professor of physics at Duke University in an email to Live Science. "For one, it helps to explain the matter-antimatter asymmetry in the universe. It also helps explain why neutrino masses are so surprisingly small. We would also get an idea of the neutrino masses as well, as the decay rate is related to the mass scale of the neutrinos."

The question then becomes what kind of physics lies beyond it. The GERDA experiment has yet to reveal the decay that the researchers seek, but that doesn't mean it won't in the future, Schwingenheuer said. And it would be difficult to rule it out entirely, because it's possible that the timescale is just longer than they think. Right now, they've set a lower limit on the half-life for this decay, but further experimental runs could push that number up.

As for what happens if they don't see the odd decay after many runs, Barbeau said it might not be a deal breaker for new models. "We don't go back to the drawing board from the point of view of the underlying theories. We just won't know whether neutrinos are Majorana or not."

The research is detailed in the April 6 issue of the journal Nature.

UFO investigators are looking at claims that President Truman and his personal bodyguard secretly visited the scene in July 1947, and were promised by a leading military official that there would be no trace left of the crash.

The Roswell myth has been at the heart of the UFO scene since in July 1947 the military sensationally announced in a press release it had found the remains of a crashed flying saucer in the desert nearby.

But the following day it retracted the statement, saying it was in fact a damaged US Air Force air balloon.

Witnesses later came forward to say there had been alien bodies within the "crashed craft", which along with the wreckage were then taken to the mysterious top-secret Area 51 military base in Nevada.

The conspiracy theories surrounding the events remain today.

In the report to MUFON an unnamed source said: "My Uncle was personal bodyguard to Harry S Truman in 1947. 

"They both went to Roswell at the insistence of President Truman in July 1947 after sneaking out of White House disguised as press. 

"My uncle said they met a Major Easley at crash site. 

"Major Easley promised the President that nothing from the crash would remain."

Express.co.uk discovered a man has made similar claims on Facebook.

William Sells, from Noblesville, Indiana, whose profile says he is a retired "specialist" at the National Security Agency (NSA), said his uncle Wayne Schell had been personal bodyguard to President Truman, and had told him in the 1960s about the secret operation, which involved the use of a "double" of President Truman.

Mr Sells says he also previously held a "top-secret SI crypto clearance from the NSA."

He posted: "Harry and him left the White House in disguise to the crash site after Truman saw debris at Andrews Air Force Base (in Prince George's County, Maryland).

"The secret service instituted Operation Doppelganger and provided Harry Truman's double to make sure the press was unaware of Harry's real location. 

"At first I did not believe him (Mr Schell) until we opened his military footlocker in his bedroom after his death around 1969. 

"In there were letters from FDR and Truman along with glossy photos of the Yalta Conference with Churchill, Stalin and FDR."

He said his uncle lived in Middletown, Indiana, and ran a dairy farm after his secret service work.

He added: "He told me that Roswell was extraterrestrial and that the military swept the site. 

"They met a Major named Edward Easley at the site and he promised Truman that nothing would remain and nothing would be said."

Express.co.uk could find no other record of a Wayne Schell linked to President Truman.

It is well documented, and among UFO circles, that Major Edwin Easley was the provost marshal at the Roswell Army Air Field at the time of the alleged crash and that he was responsible for base security.

Conspiracy theorists claim that dead aliens were found in the wreckage of the alleged crashed flying saucer but they were secretly hidden at a US air force base.

GROTE UFO DAALT AF IN MEXICAANSE VULKAAN ( VIDEO )

Al jaren verschijnen er in Mexico vreemde vliegende objecten nabij of zelfs in de krater van de beroemde Popocatépetl vulkaan. 

Deze potentiële vuurspuger vormt een soort tweeling met een andere vulkaan waar we eigenlijk nooit wat over horen, tot vandaag dan. 

Namen van deze vulkanen moet je niet proberen uit te spreken als je een wijntje hebt gedronken, want dan breek je waarschijnlijk je tong. 

Zeker als het gaat over de satellietvulkaan van de Popocatépetl. 

De Iztaccíhuatl of Ixtaccíhuatl is een actieve vulkaan in de Mexicaanse deelstaten Mexico en Puebla. De Ixtaccíhuatl is 5286 meter hoog, hoewel satellietmetingen aangeven dat zij in werkelijkheid 5230 meter hoog is. Het is het derde hoogste punt van Mexico, na de Piek van Orizaba en de Popocatépetl, waarmee zij een dubbelvulkaan vormt. 

De Ixtaccíhuatl bestaat uit vier pieken en wordt van de Popocatépetl gescheiden door de Pas van Cortés. Wanneer de vulkaan vanuit het oosten of westen wordt gezien, toont de Ixtaccíhuatl een sterke vergelijkenis met een slapende vrouw. De naam Ixtaccíhuatl betekent dan ook 'witte vrouw' in het Nahuatl. In de Azteekse mythologie was Ixtaccíhuatl een prinses die verliefd was op de krijger Popocatépetl. 

Haar vader beloofde dat zij hem mocht huwen wanneer hij terug zou zijn van een veldtocht in Oaxaca. Hij ging ervan uit dat Popocatépetl toch niet levend terug zou keren, dus vertelde zijn dochter dat hij was overleden. Deze stierf daarna van verdriet. Later bleek dat Popocatépetl nog wel in leven was. Toen deze hoorde van de dood van zijn geliefde stierf hij ook van verdriet. De goden gaven hun vervolgens een kleed van sneeuw en veranderde ze in de twee vulkanen.

Het is bij deze vulkaan dat de webcam op 4 april 2017 iets bijzonders vastlegt. 

In de volgende video zie je na ongeveer 20 seconden een soort rond licht verschijnen in de hemel dat langzaam afdaalt richting krater van de vulkaan. 

Naarmate het dichterbij komt, wordt het licht opeens veel groter en feller. Dan, net voordat het in de mond van de krater verdwijnt, wordt het licht zwakker. 

 

Net zoals bij die andere vulkanen verschijnt ook bij deze een UFO die lijkt te verdwijnen in de krater. 

Ook eind vorig jaar, in november, werd er via de webcam een prachtige UFO vastgelegd boven de Ixtaccíhuatl vulkaan. 

Wie of wat het zijn weten we niet, maar wel dat er keer op keer bijzondere objecten worden waargenomen bij de Mexicaanse vulkanen waarvan de wereld doet alsof ze niet bestaan. 

 

De volgende opname is een jaar daarvoor gemaakt, op 1 december 2015, en dit keer niet door een webcam. Het is een prachtige video, gemaakt van grote afstand, net voor zonsopgang, waarbij je minutenlang vreemde lichtgevende objecten rond de krater van de vulkaan ziet hangen. 

Toch wel bijzonder dat wij in een wereld leven waar zoveel dingen voorkomen die niet bestaan.

UFO museum opens in Runcorn ahead of potential 'Alien Festival'

Artist inspired by tale of 'UFO contactee from Runcorn' teams up with composer and others to lay on archives and music

A pop-up display celebrating the world of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO) is on show in Runcorn for two weeks.

The Flying Saucer Museum is on from April 10-25 in Runcorn Shopping Centre

Chiz Turnross, the organiser behind the event, is hoping to raise awareness and test the water for a potential alien festival later in the year.

The pop-up museum was inspired by the 60th anniversary of Europe’s first purported UFO contactee, James Cooke, of Runcorn, who claimed to have encountered a spaceship on Runcorn Hill in September 1957 and also to have been taken to the planet Zomdic by his extraterrestrial visitors.

He uncovered a Runcorn Weekly News article stored in microfiche format at Runcorn Library with the headline ‘Runcorn flying saucer anticipates red moon’ in reference to the blood moon that month.

The report related the events of James Cooke’s alleged rendezvous with Zomdic.

Chiz has collaborated with curator Jane Anderson, of Models For Practice, composer Lucy Pankhurst and family, friends and residents to produce a miniature archive of UFO-related material, workshops and performances, and to gather views and ideas from the public on the alien festival, while researching international collaborators for what he said would be the UK’s first ‘Alien Festival’.

Triangle UFO hovers low over rural Pennsylvania

A Pennsylvania witness at Lancaster County reported watching a nearly 100-foot-long, triangle-shaped object hovering at the tree top level, according to testimony in Case 82286 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness was driving along back roads between 8 and 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, when the incident began.

“Was at a stoplight when something caught my eye,” the witness stated.“I glanced over and noticed a line of bright lights. Didn’t think much of it and looked away. I double took, however, and when I looked back, they were in a triangle formation.”

The witness was unsure what the object was.

“I went through everything in my head. It was not a plane. There were no blinking lights, plus it was too low to the field to be a plane. I thought it might be a drone, but with it being so low it would’ve been a very, very, big drone. Nothing was blinking or illuminating off of it. There were no beams or anything like that.”

The witness was driving in rural Lancaster County, PA, when the object was seen on February 22, 2017.

The object then began to move.

“After I saw it, it moved again – not lightning fast, but quickly to a third point in the field and hovered again for a few seconds. At this point I realize the light had turned green, and I begin to drive away. But interested in trying to figure out what I saw. I looked back and slowed down and I found nothing there, nothing in the sky. There was nothing up higher. There’s nothing in the field. It was gone. There was one very bright light at the top and three, maybe four, dimmer lights coming out of it in a triangle formation.”

This is a interesting report of a person on a flight who recorded a UFO disk with their iphone. Sometimes, like this instance, you have only 3-10 seconds to catch the UFO. Those are stressful seconds...do or do not record? The answer is always to try to record. This is just a few seconds of a disk...that communicated telepathically to this woman on board...whom they may have been watching through the window. If only a few seconds of communication...its still a miracle in itself. Its a handshake to them. A beginning. She may be important to them. Remember, UFOs travel faster than the speed of light, which allows time travel to happen. Aliens know the future and the past. Thus, the person they said hello too may be of very important significance in the future.

Atlanta, Georgia - 02-23-17 February 23: On Delta flight 43 traveling from JFK to Atlanta around 6:30 PM. I suddenly felt compelled to look out my window for some strange reason almost as if I was prompted. I then noticed a faint object in the distance that I really had to focus on. I waited to see if it was air traffic from another flight, but the object appeared completely different from any airplane, jet, zeppelin, etc. It seemed as if it were a few miles away, but strange enough to keep my attention. It stayed consistent in motion for a few moments, but the longer I focused my attention the more it seemed to change position. It was moving left to right, or suddenly blinking in and out view. It is very difficult to describe what I saw exactly, but it didn't seem like anything I could really wrap my mind around. I took my iPhone out which came out to be pretty low in quality, but I had my boyfriend enhance the footage by slowing it down/increasing the scale/reducing noise/adding contrast. I have the original footage upon request, but as you can see, the object really emerged once we enhanced the original footage.

Here is a video reported this week by UFO Casebook of Youtube. It shows several glowing disks in the sky and a crowd of people staring at them in wonder. UFOs over LA are no strangers, back in Feb 25, 1942 my mother (East LA is my home) told me she witnessed the Battle of Los Angeles...several very large metallic disk of LA during WWII, which the military shot at tens of thousands of rounds, and all the while the UFOs passed over from the ocean slowly, in no hurry to leave, and unharmed in any way. You see, its an easy way to send a message to the government of America...that they cannot be harmed and don't care if humans know about them or not. The US gov doesn't want the public to know yet.

Een nieuwe genetische analyse van onderzoekers aan de Vanderbilt- en Wisconsin-Madison-universiteiten claimt dat kwallen de eerste vorm van dierlijk leven op onze planeet waren. Die bewering werd voordien sterk gecontesteerd door aanhangers van de sponstheorie, die dat simpele organisme als ultieme voorouder bestempelden. 

Het onderzoek benaderde de theorie vanuit een compleet andere invalshoek om de discussie voor eens en voor altijd te beslechten. Terwijl wetenschappers voordien de stamboom van de dieren probeerden reconstrueren op basis van bestaande genetische data, focusten zij nu op de genen die de organismen allemaal deelden. 

"De truc is om de genensequenties van verschillende organismen te vergelijken om zo uit te zoeken welke organismen het meest verwant zijn", aldus professor Antonis Rokas van Vanderbilt.

Baanbrekend

De analyse resulteerde in een zogenaamd "fylogenetisch signaal" dat de ribkwallen ontegensprekelijk aanduidde als eerste leven. De onderzoekers gebruikten diezelfde fylogenetische techniek ook om te achterhalen of krokodillen het meest verwant zijn aan vogels of schildpadden. Daaruit bleek dat schildpadden een zustersoort waren en vogels eerder dichte neven. 

De onderzoekers benadrukten wel dat niet alle onenigheid hiermee zou wegebben. Eén eigenwijs gen kan genoeg zijn om de conclusie helemaal te doen keren van de ene soort naar de andere. Evolutie zou dan nagenoeg geen sporen in de genen achterlaten. Al gelooft professor Rokas dat de aanpak een baanbrekende impact zal hebben op de evolutiebiologie.

NASA zal morgen, donderdag, nieuwe bevindingen presenteren over de zogenaamde oceaanwerelden - manen en planeten met ondergrondse oceanen - in ons zonnestelsel. Kennis over zulke werelden kan de zoektocht naar buitenaards leven een nieuwe wending geven.

Wetenschappers verzamelden de resultaten met behulp van de Hubble-ruimtetelescoop en ruimtesonde Cassini. Die draait reeds sinds 2004 mee in de baan van planeet Saturnus. De missie van het ruimtetuig loopt dit jaar ten einde.

De Aarde wordt beschouwd als een oceaanwereld omdat water de meerderheid van de aardoppervlakte bedekt. Andere gelijkaardige omgevingen in ons zonnestelsel zijn de manen van Jupiter, Saturnus en Neptunus, alsook de dwergplaneet Pluto. Venus en Mars zouden ooit ook oceanen gehad hebben, maar door het broeikaseffect en hun kwetsbare atmosfeer verloren ze die. 

Zoute oceaan
NASA wil de waterbronnen in ons heelal nog aan verder uitgebreid onderzoek onderwerpen met de Europa Clipper-missie. Het ruimteagentschap wil zich daarbij vooral richten op Jupiters maan 'Europa'. Met haar zoute oceaan, die een tweemaal zo groot volume beslaat als de oceanen op aarde, herbergt ze immers nog een mogelijkheid op buitenaards leven. 

"Europa is de beste kans op buitenaards leven naast de Aarde in ons zonnestelsel", zegt Britney Schmidt, assistent-professor aan Georgia Institute of Technology. Schmidt is een van de bezielers van de Europa-missie. De Europa Clipper zal na 2020 gelanceerd worden. Het zal vanaf dan nog enkele jaren duren vooraleer het zijn eindbestemming bereikt.

Omdat leven op onze buurplaneet Mars al jaren tot de verbeelding spreekt, kon Jupiters maan het grote publiek niet fascineren. Er zijn wel argumenten in het voordeel van potentieel leven op Mars, maar de kans bestaat dat deze planeet enkel in het verleden bewoonbaar was. Toen waren het klimaat en de atmosfeer van de Rode Planeet een stuk aangenamer. "De vraag is: willen we een planeet bestuderen die misschien ooit bewoonbaar was of willen we iets bestuderen dat op dit eigenste moment bewoond kan zijn?", vraagt Schmidt zich terecht af.

NASA to reveal new findings around ocean worlds beyond Earth this week

NASA will hold a press conference on Thursday, starting at 2 PM ET, at which it will discuss new discoveries related to ocean worlds found within our solar system. The fresh findings come from the Cassini spacecraft, which was launched in 1997 and arrived at its destination orbiting Saturn in 2004, and the Hubble Space Telescope.

The briefing includes “new discoveries” that “will help inform future ocean world exploration,” according to NASA’s press release. The results of the findings will help with future efforts to locate life outside of Earth – but we should stress here that there’s essentially zero chance this announcement will be at all about the discovery of alien life, as a way of heading off the recurrent frenzy of hype before it happens.

Exoplanet With Earth-like Atmosphere Found For First Time

An atmosphere wrapped around an exoplanet called Gliese 1132b (GJ 1132b) has been identified. It is located almost 39 light-years away in a constellation that is called Vela.

The discovery is of special importance to those interested in alien life. It is the first time that some sort of atmosphere has been found around an exoplanet that has a mass and radius like the Earth's. For those who are searching for signs of extraterrestrial life, this is a big discovery.

"With this research, we have taken the first tentative step into studying the atmospheres of smaller, Earth-like, planets," said Lead researcher John Southworth from Keele University in the UK on the exoplanet, according to Science Alert. "The planet is significantly hotter and a bit larger than Earth, so one possibility is that it is a 'water world' with an atmosphere of hot steam."

The exoplanet is thought to have some "'water world' with an atmosphere of hot steam" almost 1.6 times as big as the Earth's. Its radius is also 1.4 times bigger. However, its complete similarity or habitability to the earth is still not clear. The new exoplanet's surface temperature of 370 degrees Celsius (698 degrees Fahrenheit) sounds pretty uninhabitable. The planet orbits the red dwarf star Gliese 1132. This was the star that Southworth and his group studied.

They used the ESO/MPG telescope in Chile. When they assessed the dimming of brightness in its seven wavelengths of light, they found that the GJ1132b exoplanet went by the host star after every 1.6 Earth days. This gave them a good idea of the planet's size as well as composition.

The exoplanet looked bigger when it was examined in one type of infrared wavelength of light. Hence, it showed an atmosphere opaque to such wavelengths. After examining various versions of the atmosphere, scientists saw an atmosphere rich in water and methane.

The GJ 1132b exoplanet is orbiting a host star that is a low-mass red dwarf. It seems to be a star that is very common in the Universe and tends to host small, Earth-like planets. However, such stars are also aggressive and could blast with massive solar flares the planets around them. Research has shown that activity like this could evaporate the planet's atmosphere, according to The Astronomical Journal. 

It has also been found that such an atmosphere can tolerate flares for billions of years and still not get destroyed. Hence, it is possible that there are thousands of such exoplanets that are revolving around low-mass stars. They too could be having such atmospheres.

Two UFO sightings in North Bay last year

The Canadian UFO Survey is out for 2016 and North Bay reported two UFO sightings and Parry Sound one.

The first was on June 18, around 9:30 a.m. when five lights were seen travelling on a path. There was no wind. Two sightings were reported.

The report does not give exact locations.

The second report was on September 25, 2 p.m. A black triangular object with lights around it and making abrupt turns was seen.

The Parry Sound sighting was in the early morning hours of March 3 when two circular crafts were signalling to each other.

UFO sightings are still being reported at a near- record level, according to the survey.

In 2016, 1,131 UFO reports were officially filed in Canada, the fifth year in a row above 1,000 cases but down slightly from 1,267 UFO sightings reported in 2015. 

Last year most UFO reports were recorded during the summer with June, July and August having a combined 37.7 per cent of all cases.

Most sighting reports were simple lights in the sky, known as Nocturnal Lights (54.9 per cent), and Close Encounters comprised less than one per cent of the total.

The most popular shape of UFO reported in 2016 was a simple point source of light.

Other shapes reported were Triangle, Ball, Cigar and Fireball. 

The classic “flying saucer” was only reported 48 times or 5 per cent in 2016.

While the vast majority of cases reported to UFO groups and official agencies are of low Strangeness, some rather odd incidents are reported each year, the report states. 

"Close Encounter cases are definitely in the minority, but some of these cases are extremely close indeed," it said. 

A witness in Cornwall, P.E.I. reported that a thin, six-foot-tall, long fingered, white alien in a black suit appeared in his bedroom. The witness spoke to the alien, which then left by walking through a wall.

He caught footage of this UFO while it was moving and we can see that its huge and no aircraft are investigating it, however it must have been seen on radar just from its immense size. Mysterious Black Disk Hovering Above Mexico Enthralls UFO Followers

An amateur video sent conspiracy theorists into a frenzy after seeing a mysterious disk in it hovering above Mexico.

According to the witness, he was driving a car in the city of Morella when he saw the UFO, which has left Ufologists abuzz. A 40-second clip was posted to YouTube by Carlos Arriola, who said he had also seen the strange thing.

The strange black sphere in the video appears to hover in the sky and travel in one direction at a slow speed and then changes direction.

Some UFO enthusiasts believe the video shows an alien spacecraft so clearly. They described the aerial thing in question as a dark disk moving slowly above a busy road in Morelia, Mexico.

The person who took the video was driving the car while recording the UFO on video. Many UFO followers were impressed with the smooth movement of the unknown aerial thing while making no sound over the city. They said that seeing a close up a real UFO is a rare opportunity to savour.

The strange craft has since captivated the local area. It reportedly made an appearance on March 27.

Indiana witness illustrates UFO moving overhead

An Indiana witness at Anderson recalled a UFO event from 2015 where the object was “as big as a football field” and just 300 feet overhead, according to testimony in Case 82148 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness was walking home after a third shift in November 2015 when the incident occurred.

“No cars were out,” the witness stated.“Just me walking down the middle of a major road.”

The witness saw the UFO out of the corner of his eye.

“I turned to the right and saw the huge, stretched, diamond-shaped spaceship. It had orange lights on all sides of it. It was just floating in a straight line heading east. No noise, no fumes. It was massive. Floating 200 feet above me.”

The object quickly moved away.

“It slowly flew east and I watched it until it disappeared. Breathtaking moment. Unbelievable.”

The witness provided three illustrations of the event with the report, which was filed on February 17, 2017.

Anderson is a city in and the county seat of Madison County, Indiana, population 56,129. MUFON Indiana Field Investigator Timothy D. Wagner investigated this case and closed it as an Unknown.

“This object is not a natural phenomenon,” Wagner stated in his report. “It is possibly man-made. Could be a military secret craft. This can’t be ruled out. The object most likely is not a blimp because if it was 200 to 300 feet above witness, he should have heard the blimp motors. No sound pretty much rules out any conventional aircraft as we know it. Too big to be a hobbyist’s drone. With this limited information, would recommend a disposition of Unknown – UAV.”

TRIANGLE UFO MADNESS: Insane bizarre craft report after encounter on Friday 13TH

A WAVE of bizarre triangle-shaped UFO sightings across the United States has continued with a fresh report.

UFO investigators are looking into a case when a man said he encountered a low flying, silent, triangle-shaped object along a rural road.

The man in Orrington, Maine, was driving with friends at 11.19pm local time when the incident happened.

He reported it the the US-based Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) which is investigating the growing phenomenon.

In a report to the organisation, which keeps a global database of UFO cases it investigates, the witness said: "We were heading up the Brewer Lake Road and went around an ‘S’ turn and we had noticed these red lights down the road above the dam on the lake."

He initially thought it could be a plane from Bangor International Airport.

He added: "But there was something unusual about the lights.

“This triangular silhouette went from being far off the road and fairly high in the air (500 – 700 feet) to swooping in very close probably 400 feet off the road and 200 feet high.

“The way the object moved down closer was very odd and I was euphoric, but terrified at the same time.

"It was flat with the horizon when the object dipped up one side at 20 to 30 degrees and swooped in closer.

"The best way to describe it is the way a feather or a leaf falls to the ground and swoops side-to-side. After it swooped down close to the car everyone started to have this moment of awe, yet panicky.”

The man went on to describe a bizarre encounter that they tried to film.

He said: "We were all looking at the black equilateral triangle that had glowing bright red lights on each end. 

"The object also had a centre light that glowed white and the object was dark against the clear night sky and it had to have been 40 to 60 feet across.

“But we looked at the video after and we couldn’t see anything but darkness. 

"While she was filming, I kept almost driving my new car off the road into a ditch because this object seemed to be hovering closer to us.”

The group said they saw a second, larger triangular object in the sky.

The report added: "We turned the corner away from the UFO, and this bigger, triangular thing was across the lake above the Holden/Bucksport side of the lake heading towards the direction of the black triangle UFO. 

"This could have been an aeroplane, but it was still dead silent. 

“For weeks after I kept dreaming about that 4 or 5 minutes of my life and it was odd it happened on Friday the 13th."

The incident was in January, but has just been reported to MUFON.

Maine MUFON Assistant State Director Valerie Shultz is investigating. 

A MUFON spokesman said: "Please remember that most UFO sightings can be explained as something natural or man-made."

UFO hunters have spotted an enormous 500-metre (1640 foot) long object off the coast of Antarctica.

Some have claimed that it is a mysterious alien ship or base hidden underwater in the continent's ice.

The object was spotted on Google maps and appears to show a large body of ice sheered off the edge of Antarctica.

ICEBERG OR ALIEN BASE?

UFO hunters were particularly interested in the latest finding because of the object's bizarre shape.

Normally icebergs come in a wide range of shapes and sizes.

But the keen-eyed UFO hunters claim that this iceberg does not fit any of the most common categories of iceberg.

'Icebergs can be classified on the basis of their shape,' wrote UFO Sightings Hotspot.

'The two basic types of iceberg forms are tabular and non-tabular. 

'The shapes and forms from this iceberg look very different if we compare it with all the different shapes and forms of tabular and non-tabular icebergs.'

But conspiracy theorists have put forward the bizarre claim that the object is in fact a large extraterrestrial base.

The object can be seen on Google maps by searching the coordinates 72°43'13.53"S 78°40'21.56"W. 

'I'm not an iceberg expert but this object is really peculiar and looks like a vessel disguised as an iceberg,' wrote the website UFO Sightings Hotspot.

'It looks out of place.'

To most people Antarctica is a barren wasteland of ice and snow found at the bottom of the globe.

But UFO hunters believe it could house extraterrestrial bases and life, acting as the perfect hiding spot due to its lack of human settlers.

Previous strange theories around the continent have suggested that UFOs are parked inside of Antarctic caves.
