The 12,000-Year-Old Bosnian Pyramids, A Massive Archaeological Cover-Up?

The fact that Pyramids are scattered across the planet isn’t a surprise. From America to Asia, archaeologists have found how nearly all ancient cultures built massive monuments thousands of years ago. Some of them served as tombs, while the purpose of many other pyramids remains a mystery.

But this fact alone is why it isn’t surprising to hear that Pyramids have also been found in Europe, more precisely Bosnia.

According to many authors, the Bosnian Pyramid Complex is around 12,000 years old and was built by a mysterious people near Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The structures were discovered back in 20015, when Dr. Semir Osmanagic announced he had discovered, beneath the hills of Visoko, a pyramidal complex and, which in addition to being one of the largest on Earth, was interconnected through a network of underground tunnels.

Dr. Osmanagic not only claims to have discovered four pyramids but he, as well as many other authors, are convinced that these pyramids are traces of a lost people.

His thesis holds that both the Mesoamerican and Egyptian pyramids are the work of the same people who built the four pyramids of Bosnia Herzegovina and that the pyramidal complex could be, according to his words, “the mother of all the pyramids.”

In 2006, a great project was set up to restore the top of the Pyramid of the Sun.

Dr. Osmanagic assures that it is the most important of the four Pyramids measuring 360 meters in height.

Back then, the Bosnian Government made available the necessary funds to continue the excavation work in the Visoko region.

Dr. Osmanagic claimed that, over the centuries, some of the pyramids had lost their shape and that the material covering the Pyramids today did not allow to appreciate their geometry, so it was necessary to properly excavate them.

The decision of the Bosnian Government to fund the project raised a controversy in the European Association of Archaeologists, which was forced, in 2006, to write a manifesto against the decision of the Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The massive Pyramid is said to hide in plain sight.

“We, the undersigned professional archaeologists from all parts of Europe, wish to protest strongly at the continuing support by the Bosnian authorities for the so-called “pyramid” project being conducted on hills at and near Visoko. This scheme is a cruel hoax on an unsuspecting public and has no place in the world of genuine science. It is a waste of scarce resources that would be much better used in protecting the genuine archaeological heritage and is diverting attention from the pressing problems that are affecting professional archaeologists in Bosnia-Herzegovina on a daily basis.”

Some authors consider that the document was a massive cover-up. The letter was signed by Hermann Parzinger, President of German Archaeological Institute in Berlin; Willem Willems, Inspector General of Rijksinspectie Archeologie in The Hague; Jean-Paul Demoule, President of the Institut nationale de recherches archéologiques préventives (INRAP) in Paris; Romuald Schild, Director of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw; Vassil Nikolov, Director of the Institute of Archaeology of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in Sofia; Anthony Harding, President of the European Association of Archaeologists; and Mike Heyworth, Director of the Council for British Archaeology in York.

But why go through so much to stop excavations?

After all, if there aren’t any pyramids in Bosnia, why go through such an effort to stop the man? Why not let him dig? Time would eventually tell who was right, whether it was Dr. Osmanagic or all other archaeologists who were against the excavation process.

What the pyramid may have looked like, according to authors who consider the Pyramids of Visoko are real.

That’s because according to some experts, ‘genuine archaeological sites’ from the region could perish if the excavations go through.

According to reports, archaeological excavations in the summer of 2008 by archaeologists who are not related to Osmanagić’s Foundation uncovered medieval artifacts, which led to renewed calls for the government to cancel Osmanagić’s digging permits.

Amar Karapuš, a curator at the Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo, said, “When I first read about the pyramids I thought it was a very funny joke. I just couldn’t believe that anyone in the world could believe this.”

Garrett Fagan of Penn State University is quoted as saying, “They should not be allowed to destroy genuine sites in the pursuit of these delusions[…] It’s as if someone was permitted to bulldoze Stonehenge to find secret chambers of lost ancient wisdom underneath.”

Enver Imamović of the University of Sarajevo, a former director of the National Museum of Sarajevo, concerned that the excavations will damage historic sites such as the medieval royal capital Visoki, said that the excavations would “irreversibly destroy a national treasure.”

Furthermore, mainstream scholars such as Curtis Runnels, an American expert on prehistoric Greece and the Balkans from Boston University, claimed that the people who inhabited Bosnia and Herzegovina in the past, were a primitive people who were small in number and who “did not have the tools or skills to engage in the construction of monumental architecture.”

But Runnels, for example, is clearly underestimating the ancient people that lived in these areas thousands of years ago.

One clear example is the Vinca Culture, an ancient people who occupied the region of Southeastern Europe (i.e. the Balkans) corresponding mainly to modern-day Serbia but also parts of Romania, Bulgaria, Bosnia, Montenegro, Republic of Macedonia, and Greece. This ancient culture, which existed around 10,000 years ago created the so-called Vinča symbols, which some believe are the earliest form of proto-writing. The Vinča culture also provides the earliest known example of copper metallurgy.

But despite received heavy criticism from ‘mainstream experts’, Osmanagic and his team have pursued their goal firmly. As a Bosnian, Osmanagic surely isn’t interested in destroying the rich history of the countries culture, and according to many, his only goal is to reveal an even richer history of not only the country he comes from but the ancient people that once inhabited these parts of Europe.

Scientists Find New ‘Hidden’ Structure Inside Human DNA

“This new research reminds us that totally different DNA structures exist – and could well be important for our cells.”

Ladies and Gents, forget what you thought you knew about DNA. Scientists have just discovered a new, ‘hidden’ structure inside Human DNA.

The modern biological era began when Rosalind Franklin, James Watson, and Francis Crick discovered the twisted structure of DNA in 1953. Understanding that structure is what has allowed scientists to unravel the mysteries of the genetic code, but there was one part that was missing.

It turns out that the human DNA had a long-held secret: the popular double helix with which we interpret the DNA structure is not the only way it adopts.

In fact, and for the first time ever, a team of scientists has identified a new structure that resembles a twisted knot of four ropes.

The new structure has just been described in the journal Nature Chemistry, and it seems to play a crucial role in the way DNA is expressed.

Despite the fact that experts have long thought this structure (called i–motif) may exist, never before had it been detected inside living human cells. The “i” stands for “intercalation,” which is a chemistry term for a layered structure.

The structure consists of four strands of DNA paired in a peculiar way.

Discovering the i-motif inside living cells indicates that it most likely plays a significant role in cell biology.

In the double helix, the nitrogenous bases of adenine (A) form pairs with thiamin (T), while the cytosine (C) does the same with guanine (G).

These bases are structured one on top of the other twisting in two rows of glucose and phosphate that form an elegant staircase in the form of a double helix.

This structure plays a determining role in the synthesis of proteins, note experts.

Discovering the hidden structure

“Our imaging suggests that this is a normal thing that happens,” said Marcel Dinger, a molecular biologist at the Garvan Institute for Medical Research in Sydney, Australia, who oversaw the research. “It is very likely that genomes in all the cells of our bodies are forming i-motifs at some point in time.”

In order to detect the i-motif, scientists used a fragment of an antibody capable of recognizing and adhering specifically to the i-motif forms.

We still know little about its function or importance, but it seems clear that, while the double helix is the predominant structure, the most common way that DNA has to store its information, there are other patterns whose role could be determinant for the control of the gene expression and, therefore, control diseases related to it, such as certain cancers.

“What excited us most is that we could see the green spots – the i-motifs – appearing and disappearing over time, so we know that they are forming, dissolving and forming again,” said Dr Mahdi Zeraati, a member of the team.

“We think the coming and going of the i-motifs is a clue to what they do. It seems likely that they are there to help switch genes on or off, and to affect whether a gene is actively read or not.”

The discovery was published in the scientific journal Nature Chemistry.

Uranus is Literally a Fart Factory — And It Would Absolutely Kill You

Uranus, the horrible, screaming lad of the solar system, is apparently as unfortunate as all those jokes make it out to be.

In a new study published Monday in Nature Astronomy, researchers detail their findings after analyzing infrared light from the Gemini North telescope in Hawaii. Using the telescope’s Near-Infrared Integral Field Spectrometer (NIFS), the team was able to observe light reflecting from Uranus’s cloud tops. They found hydrogen sulfide, the chemical compound responsible for the stench in rotten eggs and yes, farts.

“If an unfortunate human were ever to descend through Uranus’s clouds, they would be met with very unpleasant and odiferous conditions,” the study’s lead author Patrick Irwin, a physicist based at the University of Oxford, said in a statement. “Suffocation and exposure in the negative 200 degrees Celsius atmosphere made of mostly hydrogen, helium, and methane would take its toll long before the smell.”

Though Uranus has now been confirmed as a fart dungeon of death, the team says it might not be alone. It’s possible that in future studies, researchers will find hydrogen sulfide in our solar system’s other ice giant, Neptune. This would further separate Neptune and Uranus from the gas giants Jupiter and Saturn, where ammonia ice has been spotted in the cloud tops instead of hydrogen sulfide. The difference in cloud composition gives scientists a new lead in the mystery of how these gassy planets could have formed so differently from one another.

“We’ve strongly suspected that hydrogen sulfide gas was influencing the millimeter and radio spectrum of Uranus for some time, but we were unable to attribute the absorption needed to identify it positively,” the study’s co-author Glenn Orton, a physicist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, said in a press release. “Now, that part of the puzzle is falling into place as well.”

Methane in Uranus’s cloud tops absorb the red part of light from the sun, which is why the planet reflects a homogenous blue color. It’s such a placid-looking planet — no one would suspect how truly vile and stinky it is.

While NASA doesn’t have any formal plans in place to revisit the ice giants any time soon, back in 2017, the space agency announced that it was backing research in support of a project to visit Neptune and Uranus again. It’s possible that ice giant research will be an item on the next Planetary Science Decadal Survey, which outlines NASA’s goals for the coming decade — in this case, 2022-2032.

Hopefully Uranus won’t be discounted just because it smells bad. It’s still an, mysterious world that deserves our love, even if it could kill us in 50 different ways.

Did NASA Just Film The Black Knight Orbiting Earth?

According to UFO Hunters, NASA astronauts on board the International Space Station have allegedly managed to detect an unidentified flying object in space.

A supposed ‘alien ship’ crossed the sky, say UFO hunters, and the evidence was ignored by NASA.

As noted by the YouTube Channel UFO Today: “The ISS captured a UFO flying over a storm front. We can clearly see a mysterious object flying over the storm front. The object is orbiting earth so it’s not affected by the storm that brewing on earth. What was this object? Let me know in the comment! Kind regards! UFO Today.”

UFO Today suggested in their video that the mystery object orbiting Earth, just beneath the International Space Station could be related to the so-called Black Knight – an alleged ancient alien satellite said to have been in orbit around Earth since time immemorial.

But not everyone is convinced the Black Knight Satellite actually exists.

In fact, in 1998 a theory was proposed explaining the enigmatic object.

Experts maintain that the Black Knight Satellite is nothing more than space junk, in particular, a fragment of the thermal shield that astronauts lost when repairing the International Space Station.

But among other opinions, there are always those who think that NASA is hiding something and the fact that numerous news agencies and government agencies took interest in the alleged alien satellite fuel the conspiracy theory.

The story of the Black Knight made its media debut in the 1940’s when the St. Louis Dispatch and The San Francisco Examiner wrote about the “Satellite” on May 14th, 1954.

Astronomers Have Found An Alien Planet So Dark, It Absorbs Nearly 99% Of Light

One of the strangest planets out there has been found by astronomers.

This planet is so dark, astronomers say it absorbs nearly all the light that hits it through a dense layer of haze.

The mysterious world has been compared to charcoal and is one of the darkest worlds ever discovered.

At 466 light years from Earth, astronomers have found one of the darkest worlds discovered so far.

Called WASP-104b, it’s one of the darkest planets out there. The mystery world is a gas giant, the size of our Jupiter, and orbits its star once every 1.75 days.

But unlike Jupiter, which is very far from the Sun, this giant world is so close to its own star that the intense radiation emitted by the star has completely “swept” its atmosphere and clouds, allowing elements such as sodium and potassium to emerge to the misty and fiery surface (more than 1,200 degrees Celsius) that surrounds the sinister planet.

Just like most hot Jupiter’s, WASP-104b is tidally locked, meaning one side always faces its star.

It turns out that both sodium and potassium are capable of absorbing up to 99 percent of the light that reflects the surface of WASP-104b, allowing scientists to include the ‘Dark Jupiter’ in a short list that makes up the category of “dark planets” that scientists have ever discovered.

Keele University researchers from the UK explored the gas giant’s incredible light-absorbing characteristics in a scientific paper uploaded to the academic preprint server, arXiv.

“From all the dark planets I could find in the literature, this is top five-ish,” lead researcher and astrophysicist Teo Mocnik told New Scientist. “I think top three.”

But, if the planet is so dark and so far away, how was it found?

How do you find a planet that absorbs nearly 99% of the light?

The planet was found using its shadow.

When a planet crosses in front of its star (what in Astronomy is called “transit”), it hides a small part of its light, revealing its presence to observers on Earth.

WASP-104b was discovered in 2014 as part of the Wide-Angle Search for Planets project (WASP, hence its name), but at the time it seemed that it was a fairly typical hot gas giant.

WASP-104b was one planet that stood out among the others by the speed of its orbit, higher than the rest of the giant planets in the category of “hot Jupiter’s”, which are also characterized by being able to orbit their star in a matter of days.

However, at that time, it wasn’t possible to discover anything else about it that would give away a clue about its appearance.

Years later, the Kepler Space Telescope managed to identify it as part of a rarer subgroup of hot Jupiter’s.

One composed of planets that absorb much more light than they reflect.

It was then that astronomers realized that WASP-104b could be, even, the darkest world ever seen until that moment.

Kepler repeatedly recorded the period before and after its transit, a technique that can shed clues about the planet itself, including the amount of light reflected in it: and the answer was … practically none.

Explanation: Why is this planet so dark? Planet TrES-2b reflects back less than one percent of the light it receives, making it darker than any known planet or moon, darker even than coal. Jupiter-sizedTrES-2b orbits extremely close to a sun-like star 750 light years away, and was discovered producing slight eclipses in 2006 using the modest 10-cm telescopes of the Trans-Atlantic Exoplanet Survey (TrES). The alien world's strange darkness, however, was only uncovered recently by observations indicating its slight reflective glow by the Sun-orbiting Kepler satellite. So far, the darkest planet out there is another hot Jupiter called TrES-2b, which is believed to reflect as little as 0.1 percent of the light that hits it.

However,  TrES-2b‘s title may be challenged as astronomers continue researching WASP-104b. Experts say it could be that WASP-104b has a real potential to challenge for that title.

Extraterrestrial Civilizations Won’t Produce Radio Signals

A team of psychologists from the University of Cádiz have added their criticisms of S.E.T.I. methodology to those of a growing number of scientists

Some of you may know the psychological experiment in which viewers are asked to watch a video showing a group of people passing a ball around and attempt to count the passes, at one stage during the video a man wearing a gorilla suit walks through the scene. A great many people are so intensely focussed on the details of what they have been expecting to see, a ball being passed around, that they fail to notice the man in the gorilla suit

Now, a team of researchers from Spain have voiced concerns that humanity’s attempts to track down advanced alien life are being derailed by the same type of psychological blindness. The team suggest that astronomers are so focussed on detecting intelligent beings through non-earthly radio signals that they are likely to miss signs of life manifesting themselves in dimensions that typically escape our perception, perhaps through quantum phenomena, higher dimensional physics or even dark energy.

The new paper published in the journal Acta Astronautica by neuropsychologists Gabriel de la Torre and Manuel García from the University of Cádiz argues that the preoccupation with extraterrestrial radio signals might be a complete distraction from the more likely phenomenon associated with advanced life beyond our planet.

The authors of the paper conducted an experiment with 137 people who had to distinguish aerial photographs with artificial structures and natural elements, included in one of the images was a character disguised as a gorilla – around half of the subjects failed to notice this highly irregular inclusion.

While it is fascinating to see how our psychology and neural processes can limit that which we perceive, the experiment also revealed something else just as important, if not more so.

“In addition, our surprise was greater, since before doing the test to see the inattentional blindness, we assessed the participants with a series of questions to determine their cognitive style—whether they were more intuitive or rational—and it turned out that the intuitive individuals identified the gorilla in our photo more often than those more rational and methodical subjects,” said De la Torre.

Stop and consider this for a moment, rational scientists with their heavily structured thinking and predefined expectations are the people most unlikely to detect any anomalous communication from an advanced extraterrestrial civilisation. Meanwhile, the highly intuitive members of society are the ones almost certain to stumble on such a signpost. This is something of a revelation because while scientists continue to argue there is no sign of ET beings, intuitive members of the public have long been claiming that such signs do exist and are only not being recognised by the academic community!

Our brain is hardwired to see faces, even where they do not exist.

De la Torre explains that while we tend to see order where there is none, such as the tendency to see faces in random patterns, known as pareidolia, it may also be that the opposite effect is occurring in the search for alien life.

“We can have the signal in front of us and not perceive it or be unable to identify it. If this happened, it would be an example of the cosmic gorilla effect. In fact, it could have happened in the past, or it could be happening right now.”

Indeed, it is my absolute conviction that this blindness is not merely something that might occur but has been happening for a very long time and continues to occur at this very moment in history. We have already received contact from at least one (perhaps more) advanced alien intelligence. The problem is that these ET beings are so advanced that searching for their radio wave transmissions is illogical, they will not be using radio signals as this is an extremely primitive method for communication.

To better understand the current situation we should consider the descriptions of two orders of civilisation detailed by the Spanish research team. Firstly a Type 2 civilisation is characterised by the longevity of its members, who would be in control of quantum and gravitational energy, manage space-time and be out exploring other galaxies. Secondly, a Type 3 civilisation would comprise exotic beings with eternal life, capable of creating in multidimensional and multiverse spaces, and with an absolute dominion of dark energy and matter.

Beings associated with either of these higher levels of civilisation certainly won’t be calling us on their ham radio rigs, nor flinging a tin can on a string towards us.

What signs of attempted contact should we then be looking for, and why do I firmly state that such communication is already underway?

The activities of Type 2 and Type 3 civilisations would without any doubt involve quantum phenomena, they would not be limited to the processes we know through Newtonian physics or classical mechanics. We should be looking out for a bizarre event that contradicts the current common consensus view of physical reality. For example, we might expect godlike beings that can present themselves directly into the brains of selected intuitive contactees and there announce their presence, without even leaving their home star systems.

Cosmic beings might instead remotely display manifestations of their advanced technology by modifying the workings of our local reality in front of multiple witnesses. Perhaps they could cause objects to pop out of nowhere and then morph through incredible transformations, a sphere of light to a being, a being into a metal craft, before vanishing from our perception once again.

In other words, we should be looking for the very phenomena that have been regularly described by thousands of people (usually highly intuitive people) for tens of thousands of years!

Contact is not something in our near in the future, it has been underway for a vast period, we have only failed to widely acknowledge this fact. The phone is still ringing, will we pick it up?

Black Knight UFO Satellite Explained…It’s NOT 13,000 Years Old! It’s NOT Even A UFO

This whole black knight UFO satellite thing has gotten totally out of hand. For some reason which I can not fathom many, many people purposely and intentionally want and can believe anything. Facts do not sway them and anything that substantially threatens their topsy-turvy UFOlogical worldview is instantly labelled a conspiracy. Labeling anything with the conspiracy label without doing your due diligence is the height of intellectual laziness. This whole ‘Black Knight’ subject was explained to 100% satisfaction to the people that really know…the scientific community and anyone who has the wherewithal to check the publicly available NASA archive. But to some people, UFOlogy has become a religion. None of those pesky facts for them. Belief is all they need even if it is probably wrong. It appears especially if it is provably wrong.

UFOlogy MUST discourage this religiosity of the UFO subject. It helps no one, confuses most, and irritates to no end people that know better. Faith in anything is a bad thing. It robs a person of the burden of thinking too much and festers lies and deceit.

UFOlogy and UFO’s are REAL. No faith required. The scientific facts all point to a Universe teeming with life. Science is our only hope to validate and legitimize the study of such a paradigm-shaking subject.  People have to learn to critically think about what they believe. In the end, what you believe does not matter, it is what you KNOW that counts.

So what is this so-called Black Knight…

Video and photographic images have arisen from armchair UFOlogists who claim they have further proof of the mysterious Black Knight satellite. Alien researchers have been calling the Black Knight one of the most convincing pieces of evidence for the existence of intelligent extraterrestrial life for the past 20 years, while some claim it has orbited Earth for at least 13,000 years.

The above video claims to conclusively prove the ‘Black Knight’, as photographed in 1998 NASA images, was nothing more than a satellite thermal blanket lost by the crew of the Endeavor space shuttle as they worked on the developing the International Space Station (ISS).

In the above video from NASA of the Endeavour mission which shows a thermal blanket on the ISS. The same blanket is then seen being dropped by the crew as it tumbles away into space. It is easy to identify that the blanket as being exactly the same shape as the ‘Black Knight’ in the 1998 pictures seized on by tin-foilists and explains that the object only appeared to change shape because it was turning as it fell away.

After releasing the pictures in 1998, NASA said it was a thermal blanket, but it did not stop a wave of branding it a huge cover-up.

The legend of the alien satellite seems to have then been retrospectively dated back to 1899 when Nicola Tesla announced he was picking up radio waves coming from space, prompting people to suggest something alien was out there.

In 1954, US state newspapers carried quotes from Donald Keyhoe, a retired naval aviation Major and UFO researcher, claiming the US Air Force had detected two satellites orbiting Earth, despite none yet being launched from our planet. Time then ran a 1960 piece, following the launch of satellites from Earth, stating that the US Navy detected a dark object, possibly a Soviet spy satellite, with a highly irregular orbit.

The myth developed in 1963 when NASA astronaut Gordon Cooper was reported as saying he had seen the ‘Black Knight Satellite’ while in space, but there was a media blackout upon his return and the US space agency allegedly put it down to cosmic hallucinations.

It has been reported that a decade later in 1973, a researcher from Scotland, Duncan Lunan, looked back at the Norwegian scientists’ data from 1928, before claiming the “messages” suggested the ‘Black Knight’ was sent by aliens from Epsilon Boötis, as a welcome message to Earth 12,600 years ago.

Many sceptics claim the legend was retrospectively created after the 1998 pictures emerged, with the preceding odd events weaved into the story to make it more convincing.

They insist research shows that in 1954 Mr Keyhoe had been promoting a UFO book and the articles had been written in a tongue-in-cheek fashion by the papers.

A follow-up, but less widely read, the article in Time also confirmed that the strange satellite had in fact been the remains of an Air Force Discoverer satellite that had gone astray, they found. There are reports that Mr Cooper, although maintaining he saw a number of UFOs in space, never claimed to have seen the ‘Black Knight satellite’ on that mission or at all.

Mr Lunan is also later reported to have denied suggesting any alien satellite had its origins 12,600 years ago and that his conclusion that the noises were a star map was from unscientific methods. Despite this video, many UFO researchers refuse to believe the fabled ‘Black Knight satellite’ could be just a thermal blanket, insisting, it is a craft of solid construction.

Not sure how the true believers would know that since the shape and dimensions of an ISS thermal blanket is unknown to them. They just know. These thermal blankets are custom-formed to fit over the heavily utilized and odd shaped ISS components for a custom fit. That is exactly what is seen.

OK… so let’s recap.

So a thermal blanket (which can be up to 10 cm’s thick) that is the exact shape and size as the alleged black knight satellite is discarded or lost from the ISS. ISS cameras catch it slowly meandering away…but no it’s a 13,000-year-old alien probe obviously. The apparent darkness of the object is due to how cameras work. To get the right exposure to show the planet underneath which is very bright will give the illusion of the object in the foreground being grey or black. It is all about exposures.

This object no longer lingers in the sky. It would have burned up shortly after it was lost. As soon as it experienced drag from the fast-moving atmosphere it would be incinerated. Reentry into the Earth atmosphere is rough.

Please, my dear reader, do not assist in the religiosity of UFOlogy. This so-called mystery is no mystery at all.

Solar System Planets: Order of the 8 (or 9) Planets

Also now a dwarf planet is Ceres, a round object in the Asteroid Belt between Mars and Jupiter. Ceres was actually considered a planet when discovered in 1801 and then later deemed to be an asteroid. Some astronomers like to consider Ceres as a 10th planet (not to be confused with Nibiru or Planet X), but that line of thinking opens up the possibility of there being 13 planets, with more bound to be discovered.

Below is a brief overview of the eight primary planets in our solar system, in order from the inner solar system outward:

Mercury

The closest planet to the sun, Mercury is only a bit larger than Earth's moon. Its day side is scorched by the sun and can reach 840 degrees Fahrenheit (450 Celsius), but on the night side, temperatures drop to hundreds of degrees below freezing. Mercury has virtually no atmosphere to absorb meteor impacts, so its surface is pockmarked with craters, just like the moon. Over its four-year mission, NASA's MESSENGER spacecraft has revealed views of the planet that have challenged astronomers' expectations.

Venus

The second planet from the sun, Venus is terribly hot, even hotter than Mercury. The atmosphere is toxic. The pressure at the surface would crush and kill you. Scientists describe Venus’ situation as a runaway greenhouse effect. Its size and structure are similar to Earth, Venus' thick, toxic atmosphere traps heat in a runaway "greenhouse effect." Oddly, Venus spins slowly in the opposite direction of most planets.

The Greeks believed Venus was two different objects — one in the morning sky and another in the evening. Because it is often brighter than any other object in the sky — except for the sun and moon — Venus has generated many UFO reports.

Earth

The third planet from the sun, Earth is a waterworld, with two-thirds of the planet covered by ocean. It’s the only world known to harbor life. Earth's surface rotates about its axis at 1,532 feet per second (467 meters per second) — slightly more than 1,000 mph (1,600 kph) — at the equator. Mars

The fourth planet from the sun, is a cold, dusty place. The dust, an iron oxide, gives the planet its reddish cast. Mars shares similarities with Earth: It is rocky, has mountains and valleys, and storm systems ranging from localized tornado-like dust devils to planet-engulfing dust storms. It snows on Mars. And Mars harbors water ice. Scientists think it was once wet and warm, though today it’s cold and desert-like.

Mars' atmosphere is too thin for liquid water to exist on the surface for any length of time. Scientists think ancient Mars would have had the conditions to support life, and there is hope that signs of past life — possibly even present biology — may exist on the Red Planet.

Jupiter

The fifth planet from the sun, Jupiter is huge and is the most massive planet in our solar system. It’s a mostly gaseous world, mostly hydrogen and helium. Its swirling clouds are colorful due to different types of trace gases. A big feature is the Great Red Spot, a giant storm which has raged for hundreds of years. Jupiter has a strong magnetic field, and with dozens of moons, it looks a bit like a miniature solar system.

Saturn

The sixth planet from the sun is known most for its rings. When Galileo Galilei first studied Saturn in the early 1600s, he thought it was an object with three parts. Not knowing he was seeing a planet with rings, the stumped astronomer entered a small drawing — a symbol with one large circle and two smaller ones — in his notebook, as a noun in a sentence describing his discovery. More than 40 years later, Christiaan Huygens proposed that they were rings. The rings are made of ice and rock. Scientists are not yet sure how they formed. The gaseous planet is mostly hydrogen and helium. It has numerous moons.

Uranus

The seventh planet from the sun, Uranus is an oddball. It’s the only giant planet whose equator is nearly at right angles to its orbit — it basically orbits on its side. Astronomers think the planet collided with some other planet-size object long ago, causing the tilt. The tilt causes extreme seasons that last 20-plus years, and the sun beats down on one pole or the other for 84 Earth-years. Uranus is about the same size as Neptune. Methane in the atmosphere gives Uranus its blue-green tint. It has numerous moons and faint rings.

Neptune’s winds travel at more than 1,500 mph, and are the fastest planetary winds in the solar system.

Neptune

The eighth planet from the sun, Neptune is known for strong winds — sometimes faster than the speed of sound. Neptune is far out and cold. The planet is more than 30 times as far from the sun as Earth. It has a rocky core. Neptune was the first planet to be predicted to exist by using math, before it was detected. Irregularities in the orbit of Uranus led French astronomer Alexis Bouvard to suggest some other might be exerting a gravitational tug. German astronomer Johann Galle used calculations to help find Neptune in a telescope. Neptune is about 17 times as massive as Earth.

Pluto (Dwarf Planet)

Once the ninth planet from the sun, Pluto is unlike other planets in many respects. It is smaller than Earth's moon. Its orbit carries it inside the orbit of Neptune and then way out beyond that orbit. From 1979 until early 1999, Pluto had actually been the eighth planet from the sun. Then, on Feb. 11, 1999, it crossed Neptune's path and once again became the solar system's most distant planet — until it was demoted to dwarf planet status. Pluto will stay beyond Neptune for 228 years. Pluto’s orbit is tilted to the main plane of the solar system — where the other planets orbit — by 17.1 degrees. It’s a cold, rocky world with only a very ephemeral atmosphere. Planet Nine

Planet Nine orbits the sun at a distance that is 20 times farther out than the orbit of Neptune. (The orbit of Neptune is 2.7 billion miles from the sun at its closest point.)  The strange world's orbit is about 600 times farther from the sun than the Earth's orbit is from the star.

Scientists have not actually seen Planet Nine directly. Its existence was inferred by its gravitational effects on other objects in the Kuiper Belt, a region at the fringe of the solar system that is home to icy objects left over from the birth of the sun and planets.

Scientists Mike Brown and Konstantin Batygin at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena described the evidence for Planet Nine in a study published in the Astronomical Journal. The research is based on mathematical models and computer simulations using observations of six other smaller Kuiper Belt Objects with orbits that aligned in a similar matter.

Change in ocean circulation bumped up CO2 levels in the atmosphere and helped end the last Ice Age

About 15,000 years ago, changes in ocean circulation caused the North Pacific Ocean to discharge copious amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere, thereby warming the planet and sealing the end of the last Ice Age. The findings could prove highly important for managing and mitigating current climate change trends.

Researchers studied the chemical composition of the fossilized shells of a type of plankton called foraminifera — some of the most abundant shelled organisms in many marine environments. This allowed British scientists at the University of St Andrews to reconstruct the exchange of CO2 between the North Pacific Ocean and the atmosphere. The analysis showed that around the end of the last Ice Age, the North Pacific released large amounts of CO2 during a time when the Atlantic ocean’s currents were rapidly changing.

The shift in ocean circulation not only explains the considerable release of CO2 by the North Pacific, which eventually helped end the Ice Age by warming the entire planet, but also the drop in oxygen levels in the Pacific Ocean seen at the time and first observed nearly two decades ago.

The findings have huge implications for climate research today. Just last week, scientists at the University College London reported that the Atlantic’s circulation is at its weakest point in 1,600 years, a trend that could disrupt weather patterns all the way from the United States to the African Sahel. The 15% slowdown, compared to peak circulation, is equivalent to three million cubic meters of water per second — water movement that is connected to fish stocks, industry and weather systems.

The link between ocean currents and very rapid changes in the climate, identified by the new study, gives us an example of just how intricately connected different parts of the climate system can be. In other words, “changes in circulation in one region can drive changes in CO2 and oxygen all the way over on the other side of the planet,” said Dr. Will Gray, lead author of the new study and a researcher at the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of St Andrews.

“The North Pacific Ocean is very big and just below the surface the waters are brimming with CO2; because of this, we really need to understand how this region can change in the future, and looking into the past is a good way to do that,” Gray added.

Co-author Dr. James Rae, also from the University of St Andrews, added: “Although the CO2 rise caused by this process was dramatic in geological terms, it happened very slowly compared to modern man-made CO2 rise. Humans have driven CO2 rise in the atmosphere as large as the CO2 rise that helped end the last Ice Age, but the man-made CO2 rise has happened 100 times faster. This will have a huge effect on the climate system, and one that we are only just beginning to see.”

“Uranus smells like rotten eggs!”

Oh, snap! That earthy image really mars our picture of it. Wonder what it Saturn? (Insert your own bad Uranus jokes and puns here.)

Finished? That giggling sound you hear is astronomers around the world enjoying their once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make an announcement, tell a joke and school the masses on the correct pronunciation of the seventh planet from the Sun (it’s UR-unus.)

“If an unfortunate human were ever to descend through Uranus’ clouds, they would be met with very unpleasant and odoriferous conditions.”

“Very unpleasant and odoriferous conditions” is the scientific term for “farts” in a new study co-authored authored by astronomer Patrick Irwin of England’s Oxford University. Published this week in Nature Astronomy, the study explains how Irwin and his colleagues used the Near-Infrared Integral Field Spectrometer (NIFS – which can be rearranged to spell ‘snif’) on the Gemini North telescope in Hawaii to ‘snif’ what Uranus is cooking. And what it’s cooking is rotten eggs and worse, according to the readings.

“We’ve strongly suspected that hydrogen sulphide gas was influencing the millimetre spectrum of Uranus for some time, but we were unable to attribute the absorption needed to it uniquely. Now, that part of the puzzle is falling into place as well.”

Study co-author Glenn Orton of Nasa’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory identified the smelly culprit — hydrogen sulfide, the odiferous compound that gives its rotten egg aroma to crude petroleum, natural gas, volcanoes, hot springs, cold springs, well water, bad breath and more. It’s enough that actual rotten eggs should sue for defamation of character.

Which brings us to the question … are there rotten eggs on Uranus and if so, how did they get there? (Can we blame the Klingons?)

“During our Solar System’s formation the balance between nitrogen and sulphur was determined by the temperature and location of planet’s formation. This tells you the gas giants and the ice giants formed in a slightly different way. They had access to different reservoirs of material back in the forming days of the solar system.”

Co-author Dr. Leigh Fletcher of the University of Leicester’s Department of Physics and Astronomy explains in a press release why the gas giants – Jupiter and Saturn – can hide whatever hydrogen sulfide they might have under thick clouds of ammonia gas, while the ice giants – Uranus and Neptune (which also has hydrogen sulfide) — show signatures of it in their upper cloud decks, which were suspected but not detected until the arrival of the big sniffer – the Near-Infrared Integral Field Spectrometer.

What does this discovery mean for future probes to Uranus? Irwin explains the bad news/good news.

“If an unfortunate human were ever to descend through Uranus’s clouds, they would be met with very unpleasant and odiferous conditions.”

Here’s the good news.

“Suffocation and exposure in the negative 200 degrees Celsius atmosphere made of mostly hydrogen, helium, and methane would take its toll long before the smell.”

Perhaps the best approach is to send up a sign in a universal language – cuneiform perhaps – and plant it on one or all of the planet’s 27 moons with an arrow pointing to Uranus and a message reading:

“I wouldn’t go in there if I were you.”

Back in April 2017, Mysterious Universe reported on the discovery of a “lost city” near Arkansas City, Kansas. The ruins of the once thriving, fortified city of Etzanoa were discovered by Donald Blakeslee, an anthropologist at Wichita State University. Prior to finding any proof of the settlement, the academic community was largely in agreement that the city was a myth, an invention of the Spanish conquistadors who went looking for a city made of gold and concocted wild stories about a native town that stretched for miles. After discovering proof of Etzanoa, however, the “lost city” is now considered one of the largest native settlements in North America alongside the lost city of Cahokia, and it might prove to be the absolute largest. Donald Blakeslee believes that excavation of the site will continue for decades and will rewrite the history of early native settlers of the great plains. Since the initial discovery, development of the area as a historic tourist attraction and landmark has moved quickly: guided tours of parts of the ruins are now open to the public and plans are being drawn for site development, museum exhibitions, and more archaeological expeditions.

The city of Etzanoa was highly developed and big—at least five miles across. Blakeslee says that the approximately 20,000 inhabitants of Etzanoa possessed the infrastructure for processing “industrial quantities” of bison, likely spoke multiple languages, and traded at great distances. This, he says, shatters the “Hollywood image” of native people in the great plains. The ancestors of the Wichita who lived in this city—and, Blakeslee thinks, many other cities like it in the region—were an urban, industrious people, a far cry from the popular conception of the early indigenous peoples of North America

Blakeslee says that there is still much more to find, and the next dig is scheduled for June:

The archaeological community knows about this, and we have been getting help on equipment. This year, in June, we will be ground-truthing. Finding out what is there. You don’t know until you dig holes.

According to Blakeslee, there’s a lot more holes to dig too. He says that while this project is starting in Arkansas City, there are a number of equally impressive lost cities to be found in the area:

There was one south of Winfield, another near Augusta, several in Rice County, McPherson County and Marion

The town of Arkansas City, Kansas was built nearly on top of the remains of Etzanoa. That’s one of the challenges facing the Etzanoa Conservancy Board as it strives to make the site a recognized landmark in the public mind. Hap McLeod, president of the Etzanoa Conservancy Board, says that a feasibility study is being conducted this summer and from there the board hopes to develop a five-year-plan of development that may include purchasing more land and developing a river walk and kayaking route so visitors can the stone artwork of the Etzanoans.

For now, the guided tours being offered are limited in their scheduling and access, but that will soon change.  Currently tours run on Saturdays, at the price of $10 per person and visit four of the major locations around town. In June the , Cherokee Strip Land Rush Museum will be opening an exhibit on Etzanoa and putting together a traveling exhibit that other museums and schools can request.

The site is quickly gaining national and international attention. McLeod says that the discovery has changed Arkansas City:

People are more aware of it. We have more tourism, but we are working to make this a national and world historic site.

Here’s hoping the board can strike the delicate balance between important archaeological site and tourist attraction.

These Mysterious Circles in the Arctic Ocean Have NASA Scientists Baffled

On April 17th, NASA scientists released a photo bearing some rather peculiar details. The image, which displayed a frosty area of the Beaufort Sea in the Arctic Ocean, was taken in coordination with NASA’s Operation IceBridge, a program which maps ice in the region on an annual basis, both on land and at sea.

However, visible within the satellite photo was also a series of unexplained holes in the ice which left some of the NASA mission scientists baffled.

The photo (see above) was procured by John Sonntag with Operation IceBridge, who reported on NASA’s Earth Observatory page. “We saw these sorta-circular features only for a few minutes today. I don’t recall seeing this sort of thing elsewhere.”

According to NASA’s statement, the unusual circular features “are more of a curiosity than anything else.”

Other scientists commented on the equally unusual “wave-like” formations that appeared near the holes in the photograph. Sea ice geophysicist Don Perovich of Dartmouth College said, “The ice is likely thin, soft, and mushy and somewhat pliable. This can be seen in the wave-like features in front of the middle ‘amoeba.’”

In Petrovich’s view, it could be that left-to-right motion that occurs when two floes of thin ice collide–a phenomenon called “finger rafting”–might partially explain some of the unusual features.

However, IceBridge project scientist Nathan Kurtz, while acknowledging the appearance of the finger rafting displayed in the photo, maintains that the circular features are anomalous. “I’m not sure what kind of dynamics could lead to the semi-circle shaped features surrounding the holes,” Kurtz was quoted saying. “I have never seen anything like that before.”

One novel theory as to what could have caused the circular formations has less to do with the geophysics of ice, and instead suggests a possible mammalian source. Specifically, it is believed that seals may have carved their way through the ice in order to create “breathing holes.”

The idea is not without precedent since several varieties of seals are known to do this (see photo above). Another theory is that processes involving convection might explain the circular formations, which is not an uncommon occurrence even on larger bodies of water.

On April 20, 2009, an unusually large (2.7 miles wide) circular formation appeared on the surface of Lake Baikal, Russia’s largest landlocked body of water. The photograph, which was also obtained by NASA’s Earth Observations experiment, showed “a circle of thin ice… the focal point for ice break up in the very southern end of the lake.” Of course, numerous stories of unusual phenomena associated with Lake Baikal over the years led to speculations online that the underlying cause might have been an underwater base, or that it might even be associated with alleged UFO sightings at the location reported by the Russian Navy.

Of course, similar annular features are common occurrences on much smaller bodies of water as well (especially those whose depths are far too shallow to allow for subaquatic bases of any kind). Resulting from processes similar to those already referenced above by Don Petrovich known as “slush fingering”, a variety of features that are similar both to Baikal’s large “ice circle,” as well as the features observed more recently on the surface of the Beaufort Sea, can and do often occur. So the question remains of the mysterious holes in the Arctic Ocean ice… are they the result of natural convection, or are seals gnawing through the ice to make room to breathe? In either case, the most likely explanation for this mystery appears to be a natural one.

Cattle mutilation is one of the more disturbing unexplained phenomena. For centuries, horrific, often unexplained injuries and deaths have plagued cattle and livestock around the world. Scores of animals have been found with organs surgically removed, drained of blood, skinned alive, or otherwise eviscerated and ripped to shreds. Stranger still, many exsanguinated animals are discovered without a single trace of blood surrounding them. Possible explanations for these mutilations range from dark rituals carried out by cults, attacks by unknown creatures, and good ol’ fashioned alien experimentation of course.

To throw more fuel onto the mystery fire, intelligence agencies like the FBI have been known to take an interest in these unexplained mutilations, sparking speculation that these livestock are the victims of some sort of clandestine weapons testing operation carried out by the CIA or Department of Energy. Why do it in public though? And what about some of the reports dating back centuries? To complicate some of the theories surrounding cattle mutilation further, an analysis of a 5,000 skull found in France has determined that this Stone Age skull may show signs of early attempts at brain surgery. Why was someone purposefully poking around in this cow’s skull?

Probably for the same reason anyone pokes around in any cow’s skull: to eat the delicious brains it contains, of course.

The study has been published in Scientific Reports under the title “Earliest Animal Cranial Surgery: from Cow to Man in the Neolithic.” Using photographs of the skull taken in an earlier analysis, researchers believe the hole in the cow’s skull did not result from being gored by another bull as was previously concluded, but instead from a deliberate surgical procedure. The analysis found that there were no abnormalities or symptoms of illnesses in the cow, meaning this surgery was unlikely to be carried out as an attempt at veterinary medicine.

Instead, the authors argue, the skull is likely evidence of surgical experimentation on an animal since “the injury derived from some form of surgical procedure typical of the trepanation process.” Trepanning is the somewhat pseudoscientific practice of boring holes in the skull in order to release evil spirits or treat various mental and physical issues. The practice is still used in clinical medicine to relieve intracranial pressure, but also in some pseudoscientific circles for unsubstantiated medical or mental benefit.

Could modern day livestock mutilations be the product of similar medical experimentation? Are amateur surgeons practicing strange non-clinical techniques on unfortunate animals? That wouldn’t explain all of the strangeness surrounding many cattle mutilations, and again, I keep coming back to the question of why someone would leave the remains in public. Any clandestine government institution would likely have their own research facilities and incinerators.

While this new study of an ancient mutilated cow skull might not answer any of the lingering questions left in the wake of centuries’ worth of animal mutilations, it shows that the phenomenon likely dates further back in human history than we think. See, mom? Perhaps playing with our food is an innately human desire after all.

What’s going on in Argentina? This week’s news featured an alleged half-man-half-beast sighting in Totoras and the discovery of a Nazi sub lost in 1945 while on its way to Argentina with what may have been Nazi leaders and their gold. Now a firefighter in Rosario de La Frontera has come forward with a video showing flashing lights that he claims are from an alien spacecraft warning Earth of the dangers of chemical and nuclear weapons. Fighting nukes with flashlights? In Argentina? What strange planet are these aliens from?

“At 9:30 p.m., on Monday (16), we received a call informing us that there were two strange lights on the banks of the Rio Rosario, and we went to the site and had a very strong experience.”

Perfil and other Argentine media sources report that what appears to be the latest of a series of these alleged alien contacts occurred on April 16th in Rosario de La Frontera, a small city (about 24,000 inhabitants) in the northwest province of Salta. In the rough Google translations of the reports, the witness identified as Ezequiel Álvarez, the “head of the volunteer firefighters” in Rosario de La Frontera, records one, then two lights flashing in the darkness that are changing in size, brightness and colors.

“We used to make signs with a flashlight and they answered us.”

So far, this sounds like something that could happen in any public park on a dark night anywhere in the world. That’s when Álvarez ups the ante by making a strange revelation … this is not the first time something like this has happened in his town and he believes Rosario de La Frontera may be the spot selected by an alien species to spread its message to humans.

“What happened in the Rosario River area is surprising, because it was only about two kilometers from the urban area, it was like a preparation, they wanted to tell us that they were at the door of our houses and that they were hitting. doubts that will continue to materialize.”

Well, two kilometers away isn’t really “at the door” but it was enough for Álvarez, who says he’s been studying UFOs for 15 years, to contact fellow local ufologist Alejandro Godoy, who claimed he was already in contact with the beings doing the flashing and that there were two ships in the area. Godoy said it was OK to get closer, which is what Álvarez reportedly did.

“I went immediately to the scene and I felt a great emotion, I had many experiences of contacts with extraterrestrial spaceships, but this is the first time that we can record a video that shows clearly that they are greeting us. Materially, we were in contact with the ship. They just let themselves be filmed and documented so that everyone knows about this demonstration and the testimonies.”

Unfortunately, the video Álvarez released (see it here) shows just the flashing lights, so we’re left with his limited description that the crafts were at least 15 meters (50 feet). He also claimed that this type of contact is a common occurrence in Rosario de La Frontera.

“There are many paranormal issues we can discuss. I can tell you there are various civilizations operating in Rosario de la Frontera. There are documented cases in the area of Duraznito, where locals and farmers saw them on the mountains. In these demonstrations they choose who to contact, regardless of the social, cultural or religious condition of the person.”

Aliens who do not know discrimination. What type of strange species could this be?

“[They] are members of the Pleiadian civilization.”

Ah, yes … the inhabitants of the Pleiades stars who are said to be really concerned about us, which Álvarez confirms.

“It is very nice what is happening to me, but I think it is also a warning to humanity about wars and the use of nuclear and chemical weapons.”

For those trying to connect the dots, this went from dim lights flashing in the woods to a dire warning of nuclear destruction – quite a jump. If the Pleiadians are really concerned about humanity, why don’t they at least communicate with searchlights … or lasers … or by interrupting the basketball playoffs for an important announcement?

Sorry, Rosario de La Frontera. You’re going to need more than just blinking lights and vague stories to qualify as a UFO hotbed and get your own annual alien festival and cable reality show.

Here is a great video of a cloud orb that is lost, since there are no clouds on a clear blue sky background, making this little bugger easier to see. HOW WOULD WE KNOW IF INTELLIGENT LIFE EXISTED ON EARTH BEFORE HUMANS?

Reptilian menaces called Silurians evolved on Earth before humankind — at least in the “Doctor Who” rendition of the universe. But science fiction aside, how would we know if some advanced civilization existed on our home planet millions of years before brainy humans showed up?

This is a serious question, and serious scientists are speculating about what traces these potential predecessors might have left behind. And they’re calling this possibility the Silurian hypothesis.

When it comes to the hunt for advanced extraterrestrial civilizations that might exist across the cosmos, one must reckon with the knowledge that the universe is about 13.8 billion years old. In contrast, complex life has existed on Earth’s surface for only about 400 million years, and humans have only developed industrial civilizations in the last 300 years. This raises the possibility that industrial civilizations might have been around long before human ones ever existed — not just around other stars, but even on Earth itself. 

“Now, I don’t believe an industrial civilization existed on Earth before our own — I don’t think there was a dinosaur civilization or a giant tree sloth civilization,” said study co-author Adam Frank, an astrophysicist at the University of Rochester in New York. “But the question of what one would look like if it did [exist] is important. How do you know there hasn’t been one? The whole point of science is to ask a question and see where it leads. That’s the essence of what makes science so exciting.”

Artifacts of human or other industrial civilizations are unlikely to be found on a planet’s surface after about 4 million years, said Frank and study co-author Gavin Schmidt, director of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York. For instance, they noted that urban areas currently take up less than 1 percent of Earth’s surface, and that complex items, even from early human technology, are very rarely found.  A machine as complex as the Antikythera mechanism — which is considered to be the world’s first computer from ancient Greece — remained unknown until the development of elaborate clocks in Renaissance Europe.

One may also find it difficult to unearth fossils of any beings who might have lived in industrial civilizations, the scientists added. The fraction of life that gets fossilized is always extremely small: Of all the many dinosaurs that ever lived, for example, only a few thousand nearly complete fossil specimens of the “terrible lizards” have been discovered. Given that the oldest known fossils of Homo sapiens are only about 300,000 years old, there is no certainty that our species might even appear in the fossil record in the long run, they added.

Instead, the researchers suggested looking for more subtle evidence of industrial civilizations in the geological records of Earth or other planets. The scientists focused on looking at the signs of civilization that humans might create during the Anthropocene, the geological age characterized by humans’ influence on the planet.

“After a few million years, any physical reminder of your civilization may be gone, so you have to look for sedimentary anomalies, things like different chemical balances that just look wacky,” Frank said.

One sign of industrial civilization may have to do with isotopes of elements such as carbon. (Isotopes of an element vary in how many neutrons they possess in their atomic nuclei — for example, carbon-12 has six neutrons, while carbon-13 has seven.)

For instance, humans living in industrial civilizations have burned an extraordinary amount of fossil fuels, releasing more than 500 billion tons of carbon from coal, oil and natural gas into the atmosphere. Fossil fuels ultimately derive from plant life, which preferentially absorb more of the lighter isotope carbon-12 than the heavier isotope carbon-13. When fossil fuels get burned, they alter the ratio of carbon-12 to carbon-13 normally found in the atmosphere, ocean and soils — an effect that could later be detected in sediments as hints of an industrial civilization.

In addition, human industrial civilizations have also discovered ways to artificially “fix nitrogen” — that is, to break the powerful chemical bonds that hold nitrogen atoms together in pairs in the atmosphere, using the resulting single nitrogen atoms to create biologically useful molecules. The large-scale application of nitrogenous fertilizers generated via nitrogen fixing is already detectable in sediments remote from civilization, the scientists noted.

The Anthropocene is also triggering a mass extinction of a wide variety of species that’s likely visible in the fossil record. Human industrial activity may also prove to be visible in the geological record in the form of long-lived synthetic molecules from plastics and other products, or radioactive fallout from nuclear weapons.

One wild idea the Silurian hypothesis raises is that the end of one civilization could sow the seeds for another. Industrial civilizations may trigger dead zones in oceans, causing organic material (from the corpses of organisms in the zones) to get buried that could, down the line, become fossil fuels that could support a new industrial civilization. “You could end up seeing these cycles in the geological record,” Frank said.

All in all, thinking about the impact that a previous civilization has on Earth “could help us think about what effects one might see on other planets, or about what is happening now on Earth,” Frank said.

Schmidt and Frank detailed their findings online April 10 in a study to be published in a forthcoming issue of the journal International Journal of Astrobiology.

Former Pentagon Insider Says US Government Is Ignoring UFO Sightings

The former Pentagon insider stated that the US government was ignoring the fact of UFO sightings and it might be the missing proof of alien civilisation.

Former deputy assistant secretary of defence for intelligence Christopher Mellon, who served in the Bill Clinton and George W Bush administrations, explained that the sightings of UFOs need further investigations.

Mr Mellon, now part of To The Stars Academy of Arts and Science, stated that several videos revealing encounters between US pilots and unexplained objects appear to suggest that there is an existence of aircraft way more advanced than what the public knows. Mellon noted that if alien civilisations had nothing to do with those UFO sightings, then it could be the work of other countries’ technology like Russia, and China that the public most likely did not know.

Whether there’s involvement of extraterrestrials or not, these different and unexplained phenomena that were happening suggest that there’s something that needs urgent investigation. However, Mr Mellon claimed that the people in Pentagon believed that these events were connected to each other and not some strange individual occurrences.

Mellon stated that if these unexplained occurrences of craft were from the technology of other countries, such as Russia and China, and that they were trying to conceal their technological breakthrough to extend their lead quietly, then the response should be the same as before. He added that it could be true when Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed that they have propulsion breakthroughs.

He further explained that if these crafts were extraterrestrials, then knowing them very well is even more urgent. However, he noted that nobody wants to be the alien guy because of fear of being ridiculed in the group.

Mr Mellon explained his claims after their organisation released new footage that allegedly shows pilots finding a UFO as it flew across the ocean. The video reveals that the alleged pilots are surprised to see the fast moving object. In that video, even experts suggested that it is not a typical plane.

Before that video, New York Times also released a set of bizarre videos and information at the end of last year. The footage also reportedly shows US navy pilots tracking UFOs.

A Mystery In History: The Super-Longevous Antediluvian Patriarchs

The Patriarchs of the Bible are usually defined as being Abraham, his son Isaac, and Isaac’s son Jacob, also named Israel, the ancestor of the Israelites

Biblical Patriarchs play a significant role in religion because it is they who are used as a significant marker by God in revelation and promises.

The term Patriarchs is also used when making reference to the twenty male ancestors that lived between Adam—the first human being on Earth—and Abraham, the founding father of the Covenant.

Ten of these Patriarchs are called Antediluvian Patriarchs because they lived on Earth before the Great Flood swept across the land.

In this article, we take a look at the ten of the Antediluvian Patriarchs and analyses with great interest their peculiar lifespan.

We can resume then that the antediluvian patriarchs correspond to the main characters of the book Genesis, which correspond to Adam, the first man, and his descendants to Noah, one of only eight survivors of the universal Flood.

Super Longevous times…

According to the ancient texts, Noah was the tenth and last of the super-longevous antediluvian patriarchs: Noah died 350 years after the Flood, at the age of 950 years.

This makes him the third longest man in the entire Bible, surpassing even Adam who lived until the age of 930 years.

In proportion to his long life, he fathered three children after the age of 500.

After Noah, lifespan drastically plunged to “only” 120 years, as we see with Moses.

The lifetimes given for the patriarchs in the Book of Genesis are Adam 930 years, Seth 912, Enos 905, Kenan 910, Mahalalel 895, Jared 962, Enoch 365 (did not die but was taken away by God), Methuselah 969, Lamech 777, Noah 950.

In the following graph, we can see the lifespan of the patriarchs as recorded in the Septuagint Black, the Syriac Peshitta Gold, and the Masoretic text Crimson.

What we have is a list of extremely important Biblical characters whose lifespan is unlike anything we’ve encountered before.

This historical fact raises a number of questions which we have not been able to answer.

Were their lives recorded adequately? Did they really live that long? Is it possible that their extreme age is the result of misinterpretations or translation errors?

Is it just part of a myth? Or, is it possible that some of these Patriarchs were not ordinary humans, but in fact messengers from the Gods, aka beings from another world?

Some theories point towards the possibility that their extreme lifespans are the result of translation errors.

Some scholars maintain that the lunar cycles were confused with solar cycles, and the real ages are in fact 13.5 times smaller.

This would mean that Methuselah who is said to have lived to the age of 969 was in fact 71.7 years old when he died. (969/13.5=71,77)

But, just as with the Biblical Patriarchs, the Sumerian King list, as well as the Turin Royal Canon, describe how in the distant past, the lifespan on Earth was anomalously great.

The Turin Royal canon describes, in the final two lines of the column a sort of resume of the entire document where we can read: ‘… Venerables Shemsu-Hor, 13,420 years; Reigns before the Shemsu-Hor, 23,200 years; Total 36,620 years’.

The Sumerian King list, just as the Turin Royal canon describe incredible longevous reigns:

“After the kingship descended from heaven, the kingship was in Eridug. In Eridug, Alulim became king; he ruled for 28800 years. Alaljar ruled for 36000 years. 2 kings; they ruled for 64800 years.”

This is why I ask, is it possible that both the Biblical Patriarchs, the Turin Royal Canon, as well as the Sumerian King List are the result of misinterpretations or translation errors? Or is it possible that all three examples are evidence of beings that inhabited earth thousands of years ago, who somehow lived as if they were true ‘Gods’ with lifespans incomparable to ordinary humans?

It was hoped by NASA engineers in the 70s that it would once day come into contact with intelligent life and educate them about humankind.

As well as sending out potential communications to other worlds, many people have reported evidence of aliens here on Earth.

Recently, the mummified remains of what was believed to be an alien proved to be a small child.

Evidence of aliens on Earth - Roswell, New Mexico

In July 1947 Sheriff Jess Slaughter and Deputy Sheriff Charles Fogus were travelling together to pick up a prisoner when they heard on their police radio reports of a crashed aircraft.

The two men, who were travelling to Roswell, New Mexico, decided to investigate and stumbled across the scene of one of the most famous UFO incidents in history.

While the US military have long claimed the crashed object was merely a weather balloon, conspiracy theorists believe the site was the scene of at least one alien aircraft crash and the recovery of extraterrestrials.

In a new book, UFOs TODAY – 70 Years of Lies, Misinformation and Government Cover-Up, law enforcement officer Fogus reveals he saw a downed flying saucer and military personnel removing a number of alien bodies from the scene.

It is the first time his statement has been published.

In the interview he says he say a flying saucer crashed into the side of a river bed which was "100ft across".

The story of the discovery at Roswell has become legend - and remained one of the most compelling conspiracy theories about the existence of alien visitors to Earth.

Evidence of aliens on Mars - trace fossils

Thanks to satellite imagery and on-site photography captured by the NASA rovers on the planet's surface, there have been many claims that aliens once inhabited Mars.

One of the most striking is the idea that fossilised remains of aliens have been preserved on the dusty surface of the red planet.

A series of pictures taken by the space agency's Curiosity rover have given rise to the idea, after researchers found what looks like fossils among the rocks.

Barry DiGregorio, a research fellow at the University of Buckingham, believes these photos (taken on January 2, 2018) reveal "trace fossils" on the surface of Mars.

"They look remarkably similar to Ordovician trace fossils I have studied and photographed here on Earth," he said.

"If not trace fossils, what other geological explanations will NASA come up with?"

NASA described the formations as "stick-like figures" with each one "about a quarter-inch long".

The space agency used the Mars Hand Lens Imager (MAHLI) camera on board the Curiosity rover to take the close-up pictures of the patterns.

Trace fossils are the name given to remains of things left behind by creatures such as dead remains, footprints or burrows.

Some of the biggest evidence of alien life comes through signals we intercept originating from distant corners of the galaxy.

Often, these are known as "fast radio bursts" or FSBs for short.

Back in 1977, astronomer Jerry Ehman received such a strong radio signal coming in from the heavens, he wrote the word "wow!" next to his results.

The burst of activity lasted 72 seconds and - although it came from the Sagittarius constellation - it matched no known celestial object.

It's gone on to become a conspiracy theory favourite as proof of advanced alien life trying to communicate with us.

But now Professor Antonio Paris from the St Petersburg College in Florida believes he's solved the mystery.

"I have always been fascinated with astronomy, space and - more importantly - whether there is life in the universe," he told the Sunday Times .

"After 40 years, the Wow signal was a cold case I wanted to reopen.

According to Professor Paris, the signal came from the hydrogen cloud created by two comets as they passed by Earth.

Using celestial records, he found that these two comets were passing by our planet on August 15, 1977 - the day the "Wow!" signal was recorded. Of course, at the time, there was no knowledge that these comets even existed.

Even without the "Wow" signal, scientists have been intercepting strange FSBs for years.

Some have been detected from an object called FRB 121102 and now a new study has found that the object is nearly 100 per cent polarised.

This polarisation suggests that the source of the bursts lies within a strong magnetic field, such as around a massive black hole - and could belong to aliens.

The findings were made by the Breakthrough Listen team at the University of California, Berkley, as well as another team of astronomers from the Netherlands.

When they were asked if they believed in the "existence of intelligent alien civilisations in the universe," 47% of the survey respondents said yes.

However, when those taking the survey were asked if they believed in "some form of life on other planets," 61% said yes.

Among those who reckon we aren't alone, 60% said we should try and communicate with aliens - something that is actually being attempted at the non profit Search for extra-terrestrial intelligence (SETI) Institute.

Martijn Lampert, research director at Glocalities , which carried out the survey, commented: "People who believe in the existence of intelligent alien civilizations are not a marginal minority, but constitute a large (47%) and distinct segment of unconventional and anti-authoritarian thinkers with a passion for science, technology, culture, politics and the arts."

Only a quarter of respondents said they didn't believe that alien life exists beyond Earth's borders.

Are aliens real?

We may not have come into contact with them yet, but it seems certain that some form of live exists beyond our planet.

Whether that live is micro bacterial or intelligent in its own right remains to be seen.

What's for sure is that human beings won't stop trying to reach out and communicate with any other species that might be listening. The truth is out there.

NASA accidentally films the best UFO sighting yet

Another unidentified flying object was captured on video by NASA’s space cameras. In the video footage, a mysterious object –with a peculiar disk-shaped design—appears to be traveling out of Earth’s atmosphere causing a massive debate on social networks. What was it? Alien vehicle? Space Debris? Optical Illusion, or just Swamp Gas? Some are convinced it is the ultimate evidence Earth is visited by Alien beings while others remain skeptical and still, unconvinced.

Ever since the footage was uploaded to YouTube, it generated great controversy both among those who support the idea that it might be an extraterrestrial object, as among those who are completely skeptical of the subject, and as a joke suggest that “UFO’s that are planning on entering our air space should be registered and pay taxes.”

The truth is that on many occasions only fragments of videos in which these mystery objects are visible are released.

However, the fact that NASA interrupts its live feed transmissions is what arouses more suspicion among those who are eager to find new evidence of the existence of alien life, UFO’s and how we are all part of a massive conspiracy.

“The question isn’t “is this an alien spacecraft?”, but actually “Why NASA didn’t cut or blur this video as they always do with other strange sights?”

In fact, if we look back into the past we will see numerous fascinating statements made by former astronauts, military officials, and scientists about Alien life and the existence of UFOs.

We cannot address the UFO phenomena without mentioning Dr. Edgar Mitchel, one of the best-known Apollo astronauts and the sixth man to walk on the moon; a retired Captain in the US Navy, aeronautical engineer and founder of the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) who had much to say about Alien life:

“I happen to be privileged enough to be in on the fact that we have been visited on this planet, and the UFO phenomenon is real…Yes, there have been crashed craft, and bodies recovered. We are not alone in the universe; they have been coming here for a long time.”

Franklin Story Musgrave, an American Physician, retired NASA astronaut who worked on the design and development of the Skylab Program and the only astronaut to have flown missions on all five Space Shuttles had very interesting things to say about life elsewhere in the cosmos:

“Statistically it’s a certainty there are hugely advanced civilizations, intelligence, life forms out there. I believe they’re so advanced that they’re even doing interstellar travel. I believe it’s possible that they even came here. It’s logical to presume the universe must have other life in it and by virtue of association that we could be visited at some point.”

Footage of strange lights in the skies above Phoenix has sparked conspiracy theories about the presence of UFOs and military experiments to control the weather.

It appears to show an unusual purple beam reaching down from the heavens accompanied by the presence of a craft darting through the night sky. 

Theorists claim it is a combination of a top-secret mission to manipulate the climate, conducted by the US armed forces, combined with the presence of aliens.

Experts believe that the footage is merely a camera lens reflection or some other  trick of the light.

The live stream was recorded above a mountain range outside the city of Phoenix, in Arizona, at 10:40pm on April 11.

A 360 degree video, which was uploaded to YouTube in recent days, which captured the incident has already accrued more than 27,000 hits. 

It has left some viewers confused as to what's behind it, with users deliberating over what it could be.

One theorist believes the strange lights could be caused by 'chemtrails', or condensation trails from aircraft that proponents say contain chemical and biological compounds engineered for sinister purposes.

These range from claims about controlling the weather to, more alarmingly, poisoning people under flight paths in an effort to keep down population numbers.

One comment under the footage said: 'The air is highly charged with metal ions from the chemtrailing. The purple beams could be plasma discharge.

'Unbelievable captures of UFO craft, it looks like they want to put on a display for us.'

Not everyone agrees with these ominous otherworldly and government-based explanations, however. 

Last week, the skies of Arizona were illuminated with an unusual purple beam (pictured) and bizarre light patterns. Seen on a live stream one viewer believes it to be proof of chemtrails and the government trying to manipulate the weather 

Nick Pope, a former UFO investigator for the MOD, told MailOnline: 'This is an intriguing video, but without knowing more about the type of camera used to record the footage, and without undertaking a detailed technical analysis, it's difficult to be certain about what we're looking at. 

'The purple flashes certainly look spectacular, but could be an artefact of the camera itself, or perhaps associated with storm activity, with the colour being attributable to a technical issue. 

'As for the 'UFOs', they could simply be civil or military aircraft. 

'Regarding the various conspiracy theories circulating about all this, chemtrails don't exist. They're simply vapour trails, and the theories about weather control or a slow poisoning of world populations are paranoid nonsense.'

Some viewers of the video appeared to disagree with these conclusions, however. 

Writing on YouTube, another said: 'The purple beams may very well be part of the HAARP projects, which have the capacity to project all kinds of images on the skies and create insanely loud sounds.'

The High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) project is a US military initiative, based in Alaska.

Designed and built by BAE Advance Technologies it aims to analyse the ionosphere - a portion of Earth's atmosphere that ranges from 37 miles (60 km) to 620 miles (1,000 km) above the planet's surface.

Defence officials say they hope to use the research to develop advanced technology. 

In spite of this, some people believe it is a cover for the US to conduct nefarious activities.

To go with the claims of a huge US government secret mission to control the weather, people claim the footage also shows UFOs. The white light (pictured) travels from right to left behind the mountain range

Speaking to MailOnline, Nigel Watson, author of Haynes UFO Investigations Manual, added: 'All sorts of images are used to 'prove' that the HAARP facility is influencing the weather or doing other nasty things to our atmosphere.

'The purple streak is more likely a camera lens reflection and, for the timebeing, I think we are still safe from being attacked by little green men.' 

While Mr Pope rejects the more far-fetched assertions about HAARP, he says he believes there could be some truth to claims of environmental tinkering by governments.

'Don't let's throw out the baby with the bathwater,' he added. 'Weather modification is real, and we see it, for example, with cloud seeding.'

'Is there research underway to do more? I'm sure there is.

'With hurricane season fast approaching, if it was possible to divert a major storm to keep it away from land, I'm sure people would be working on ways to do this. Such techniques could save thousands of lives.'

DE AARDE IS EEN LABORATORIUM VOOR BUITENAARDSEN

In het oude Egypte werden hiëroglyfen als schrift gebruikt en het is dan ook voor niets dat we dezelfde symbolen aantreffen op buitenaardse ruimteschepen. 

Buitenaardsen zijn nog steeds op aarde en alhoewel ze hun uiterste best doen om hun ruimteschepen te vermommen, vallen ze toch af en toe door de mand. 

Een prachtig voorbeeld van een vermomming van een buitenaards ruimteschip vinden we in een waarneming dat is ingediend bij Mufon onder nummer 91551 door een man uit Ashburn in de Amerikaanse staat Virginia. 

De man in kwestie is bouwvakker en stond op 15 maart van dit jaar op de vijfde verdieping van een gebouw in aanbouw, toen hij besloot een foto te nemen. Hij was het verder vergeten en pas op 21 april heeft hij de foto bekeken. 

Tot zijn grote verbazing ontdekte hij een wel hele vreemde wolk in de lucht. De foto die hij nam ziet er zo uit.

Wanneer je de wolk dichterbij haalt, dan zie je de bekende UFO vorm en ook dat het allesbehalve een wolk is.

Ze zijn overal om ons heen en in de meeste gevallen worden ze niet opgemerkt door de mensheid, omdat niemand echt naar de wolken kijkt. Ook hier weer het kenmerkende verschijnsel van een wolk in de lucht in een vrijwel wolkeloze hemel.

Iemand voor wie iedereen veel respect heeft is de journaliste Linda Moulton Howes en als er iemand uitgebreid onderzoek heeft gedaan naar het UFO fenomeen en de buitenaardsen, dan is zij dat wel. Haar interesse werd gewekt in 1979 door de vele verminkte dieren die werden aangetroffen en waar geen logische verklaring voor was .

Al met al betekent dit dat zij ondertussen een kleine 40 jaar onderzoek achter de rug heeft en in de onderstaande video vertelt ze meer over haar ervaringen en deelt ze haar visie na al die jaren onderzoek.

Zij is ervan overtuigd dat de aarde de afgelopen 270 miljoen jaar niets anders is geweest dan een laboratorium voor de buitenaardsen. Linda legt uit dat alle mythes en legenden helemaal waar zijn en dat de oude goden vergevorderde wezens waren die de aarde hebben bezocht en de menselijke geschiedenis hebben veranderd, zowel ten goede als ten kwade.

Dat is ook de reden dat men op de hedendaagse UFO regelmatig hiëroglyfen aantreft. Mensen die hebben gewerkt op geheime locaties vertellen dat deze duidelijk zichtbaar zijn op de UFO's.

Dat er geavanceerde wezens op aarde zijn geweest lang voordat onze geschiedenisboeken daarvan melding maken, wordt ook door een bericht in de Washington Post over een ingewikkelde sterrencalculator, bevestigd. "The Antikythera Mechanism Research Project stated that an examination at the National Archaeological Museum in Athens has found that the device is not a hoax." Ook wij schreven daar een aantal jaren geleden over.

Overheden doen hun uiterste best om het fenomeen buitenaardsen geheim te houden voor de mensheid, omdat zij denken dat dit nodig is voor de nationale veiligheid, aldus Linda. Dat maakt het uiteraard ook een complex, mysterieus en moeilijk onderwerp om onderzoek naar te doen.

Ook zij bevestigt dat er goede buitenaardsen zijn, de "friendlies", en de kwaadaardigen, de zognaamde "unfriendlies". Ook bevestigt zij dat er op dit moment (buitenaardse) oorlogen plaatsvinden, zowel op aarde als in de ruimte.

EN ALWEER SCHEELDE HET NIET VEEL

Wanneer een asteroïde zo dichtbij de aarde komt dat het tussen de aarde en de maan langs vliegt, dan moet je je toch wel wat zorgen gaan maken. 

Niet in het minst wanneer het object pas op het allerlaatste moment wordt opgemerkt. 

Heel regelmatig horen we berichten over weer een asteroïde die niet of pas heel laat is ontdekt en dat de aarde weer eens aan een ramp is ontsnapt.

Op 15 april vloog een asteroïde die wordt omschreven als een Tunguska klasse asteroïde ter grootte van een voetbalveld rakelings langs de aarde. De afstand waarop deze passeerde was minder dan 200.000 kilometer, hetgeen in ruimtetermen vlakbij betekent. 

Dat niet alleen, de asteroïde werd ook pas de dag van te voren ontdekt en dat gebeurde door een observatorium, Catalina Sky Survey, in de Amerikaanse staat Arizona. 

De referentie naar Tunguska betekent dat deze asteroïde, wanneer het wel door de dampkring zou zijn gegaan, een effect had kunnen veroorzaken, vergelijkbaar met wat er gebeurde in Tunguska in 1908. 

Op 30 juni 1908 vond in Toengoeska (nu Evenkië, hetgeen sinds 2007 bestuurlijk onderdeel is van de kraj Krasnojarsk) in Siberië een enorme explosie plaats bij de rivier de Stenige Toengoeska, die bekendstaat als de Toengoeska-explosie of Grote Siberische Explosie. Als gevolg van de explosie braken in een omtrek van 30 tot 40 kilometer bomen aan de basis van de stam af. Over de oorzaak van de explosie wordt nog veel gespeculeerd, mede omdat deze in een zeer afgelegen gebied plaatsvond; de meest geaccepteerde verklaring is de ontploffing van een meteoriet op circa 8 kilometer boven het aardoppervlak. 

De schaarse ooggetuigen in het zeer dunbevolkte gebied zagen een vuurbal uit de hemel neerdalen en in de lucht exploderen. Dit ging gepaard met een zeer harde knal. Door de kracht van de explosie braken bomen in de omgeving af en werden mensen en dieren weggeblazen. De explosie was tot op meer dan 200 km van het bodemnulpunt te voelen. 

Ter vergelijking; de asteroïde die de aarde nu heeft gemist, is ongeveer vijf keer groter dan de meteoriet die boven Chelnyabinsk explodeerde in 2013.

Als de asteroïde, die de naam 2018 GE3 heeft gekregen, de aarde geraakt zou hebben, dan zou dit niet het einde van de wereld hebben betekend, maar wel van een stad als bijvoorbeeld Amsterdam. Er was natuurlijk ook nog een kans dat het nooit de grond zou bereiken, maar ergens boven de aarde exploderen. 

Wat echt zorgwekkend is, is dat niemand deze dingen ziet aankomen, of als ze het wel doen, pas op het allerlaatste moment.

Niemand, maar dan ook echt helemaal niemand, had de asteroïde bij het Russische Chelyabinsk opgemerkt. 

In een televisieprogramma destijds waren een aantal experts van NASA te gast, naar aanleiding van de explosie boven Chelyabinsk: 

In het programma praat hij met een aantal experts van NASA die toegeven dat ze geen flauw idee hebben over wat er allemaal op ons af komt. De eerste keer dat zij gewaar werden dat er een asteroïde in de vorm van een meteoriet boven Rusland was ontploft, was toen ze dit vernamen via Twitter. 

Dat er op diezelfde dag nog een asteroïde rakelings langs de aarde scheerde werd ook niet opgemerkt door NASA, maar wel door een amateur astronoom. 

Uit een ander artikel, enkele jaren later:

We weten dat de systemen om deze asteroïden op tijd te ontdekken en eventueel maatregelen te nemen zwaar onvoldoende zijn en het beste advies dat NASA kan geven op dit gebied is dan ook: bidden dat het niet gebeurt.

We zijn nu weer een aantal jaren verder en ondertussen zijn er in het eerste kwartaal van dit jaar een record aantal waarnemingen geweest van “vuurbollen” in de lucht. 

Een trend die zich nu al jarenlang verder doorzet en de indicaties zijn dan ook dat dit jaar het record voor vuurbollen opnieuw zal worden gebroken.

Wanneer je ziet in bovenstaande tabel dat we nu alleen al in het eerste kwartaal van dit jaar al bijna op hetzelfde niveau staan als het gehele jaar 2011, dan ziet het er wat dat betreft niet goed uit. 

Wanneer al die vele miljarden dollars die worden besteed aan wapensystemen gebruikt zouden worden om een waarschuwingssysteem voor de mensheid te creëren en een systeem wat misschien de koers van gevaarlijke asteroïden zou kunnen wijzigen, dan zouden we een stuk verder komen dan nu. 

Maar, dat zal wel wishful thinking blijven en dus gaan wij door met Russisch roulette spelen. En dit alles heeft natuurlijk ook helemaal niets te maken met de nabijheid van een onbekende (lees: ontkende) planeet en haar metgezellen.

Een keer per jaar onderbreekt de telescoop, die rond de Aarde draait, zijn normale observatieopdrachten om gedetailleerde beelden te schieten van een specifiek punt in de kosmos.

“De Hubble heeft ons een nieuw beeld van het universum bezorgd en heeft 28 jaar lang alle verwachtingen ingelost en overtroffen”, melden NASA en ESA. De telescoop heeft “een revolutie ontketend in bijna elk gebied van astronomische observatie”.

Wetenschappers ontdekken waarom Uranus stinkt naar rotte eieren - HLN.be

Sommige wetenschappers dachten dat de wolken van Uranus bestonden uit waterstofsulfide, anderen geloofden dat het ammoniak was. Nu heeft een internationaal team een gevoelige telescoop op Hawaï gebruikt om de ‘vingerafdruk’ van de planeet te meten. Daarin is duidelijk waterstofsulfide te zien.

Cylindrical Luminous Objects Leaving Earth Caught On Camera

An expert in photography witnessed two cylindrical luminous objects, actually three objects; that seem to leave the atmosphere directing towards space. He took some 8 high-resolution images of the cylindrical objects in the night of April 14, 2018 on the outskirts of the city of Rykkinn, in Norway.

The photographer said: I found the mysterious lights when I checked the sequence of my photos and visible in 21 frames. The camera was outside on my balcony. The shots were made in raw format.

I think that the objects in the frames are very strange, that is, 3 lights almost parallel cross the sky directed towards the space moving the one following the second in front and almost perfectly.

I looked up and I cannot find any satellite that matches the trajectory. I also checked the monitor with the rare satellite crossing but nothing matched these objects. My camera's clock works well. Images are recorded with a Sony 6000 camera in manual mode. Mufon case 91487.

Check out this UFO as it shoots past a paddle boarder at such high speed, the human eye can't even keep up with it. However, it was caught on camera and the eyewitness must have found it later while looking at the video. The UFO is too fast to be a lost balloon and its to thick to be a frisbee. This object is a disk shape, thick and is seen on the front and its  back as it flips and flies at the same time. Very odd. This UFO does have a similar shape as one recorded on infrared video by the US Navy as the UFO flew over the water. Video below to compare. Why is this UFO here among so many people? Pentagon UFO project could have SECRET info that solves Britain’s ROSWELL

A PENTAGON top-secret project investigating UFO reports could have groundbreaking information that solves “Britain’s Roswell”.

So says Nick Pope who investigated the strange phenomenon for the Ministry of Defence.

The massive Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) also explored reports of flying saucers.

Since it was exposed last year, three videos have shown bizarre enouncters with pilots and inexplicably-fast aircraft.

And Mr Pope believes AATIP could solve the famous Rendlesham Forest incident on Boxing Day December 1980 in Suffolk.

MYSTERY: Rendlesham Forest has often been described as the 'UK Roswell'

Two members of the US Air Force (USAF), John Burroughs and Jim Penniston from the nearby Bentwaters and Woodbridge bases, went to investigate a suspected civilian plane crash.

They stumbled upon an unknown craft displaying strange “hieroglyphic symbols”, which accelerated away at high speed after they touched it.

The UFO was briefly tracked on radar and reportedly returned two days later and fired beams at air force crew and a “sensitive area” of the Woodbridge base, according to Mr Pope.

The former MOD expert said: “When the story about the Pentagon's secret UFO project first broke, there was an intriguing reference to AATIP having a dossier detailing the best UFO cases from around the world.

“Apart from Roswell, the Rendlesham Forest incident is the best-known UFO case in the world, so it's logical it would be in AATIP's dossier, especially as the Rendlesham witnesses were US military personnel.”

Mr Pope said that all Freedom of Information requests for details on AATIP’s work have been rejected on national security grounds.

"The Special Relationship between the US and the UK remains strong, but there's been very little intelligence-sharing about UFOs," said Mr Pope.

Mr Pope claimed that an MOD assesment talked about what kind of "novel military applications" could come from UFOs.

"Governments – even allies – are in competition with each other over this, and don't want to give their game away," he said.

He believes that the X-Files type investigations of the Pentagon project could have answers about mystery radiations associated with flying saucers.

He said: “In a later MoD intelligence assessment of the UFO phenomenon more generally, my colleagues looked again at Rendlesham, and their final report contained the bombshell sentence ‘the well-reported Rendlesham Forest/Bentwaters event is an example where it might be postulated that several observers were probably exposed to UAP [Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon] radiation for longer than normal UAP sighting periods'.

“I’d be intrigued to know what information AATIP has about this, and what they concluded.

“In parallel with analysing videos of military jets chasing UFOs – like the three that have already been released – AATIP seem to have looked at the physiological effects of UFOs on people who had extremely close encounters, as was the case at Rendlesham.”

The radiation could come from an "exotic energy source and/or propulsion system", some have suggested.

An ex-military intelligence officer Luis Elizondo, who ran AATIP, recently made an astonishing claim about the technology behind UFOs.

He revealed that scientists concluded the craft can effectively create their own time-space bubble, which allows them to fly at such incredible speeds.

While the US government said AATIP was closed in 2012, Elizondo claimed he worked on the highly-sensitive project until October last year.

He said he resigned over “excessive secrecy and internal opposition”.

With the project potentially still running, Mr Pope hopes the answers to Rendlesham could finally emerge 40 years later.

He said: “We're not too far from the 40th anniversary of what's been called Britain's Roswell, and I hope the Rendlesham witnesses – Charles Halt, John Burroughs, Jim Penniston and others – are finally going to find out what happened to them.

“It would be ironic if the answer to Britain's most famous UFO mystery was lying in a government file somewhere, not in the MoD, but in the Pentagon.”

Mr Pope has written the book Encounter Rendlesham Forest based on interviews with the two witnesses Burroughs and Penniston.

'Mars botste in jonge jaren met een dwergplaneet'

Het resulteerde in de geboorte van Phobos en Deimos: de twee kleine manen van Mars.

Over de oorsprong van de manen van Mars is al veel gedebatteerd. Sommige onderzoekers denken dat het planetoïden zijn die door de zwaartekracht van Mars zijn ingevangen. Anderen vermoeden dat ze het resultaat zijn van een enorme botsing tussen Mars en een ander hemellichaam. Die botsing zou geresulteerd hebben in een puinschijf rond Mars waar vervolgens Phobos en Deimos uit samenklonterden. Die laatste theorie lijkt te worden onderschreven door de cirkelvormige baan die de twee manen rond Mars trekken en het feit dat ze zich in hetzelfde omloopvlak bevinden.

Eerdere pogingen
Natuurlijk hebben onderzoekers al regelmatig geprobeerd om die botsing tussen Mars en een ander hemellichaam en de geboorte van Phobos en Deimos te simuleren. Maar dat resulteerde helaas nooit in een goede afspiegeling van de werkelijkheid. Iets wat deels te herleiden is naar het feit dat veel van deze modellen niet gedetailleerd genoeg waren. Wat bovendien ook niet hielp, was dat veel modellen uitgingen van een botsing tussen een groot hemellichaam en Mars en zo resulteerden in enorme puinschijven, waaruit enorme manen voortkwamen die het bestaan van Phobos en Deimos praktisch onmogelijk maakten.

Hier zie je hoe groot de manen van Mars in vergelijking met onze eigen maan vanaf het oppervlak van Mars lijken. Hoewel de grootste maan van Mars zo’n 100 keer kleiner is dan onze maan, lijkt deze vrij groot, omdat beide manen veel dichter rond Mars draaien dan onze maan rond de aarde.

In het blad Science Advances maken onderzoekers nu bekend dat het ze gelukt is om de botsing te simuleren en daarbij uit te komen op een situatie die recht doet aan de werkelijkheid. “Een belangrijk aspect van het nieuwe onderzoek is de omvang van het object dat op Mars botste,” vertelt onderzoeker Robin Canup. “Wij ontdekten dat er in plaats van een gigantisch botslichaam, een groot botslichaam – vergelijkbaar met de omvang van Vesta en Ceres – nodig is.” Collega Julian Salmon voegt toe: “Wij gebruikten state-of-the-art modellen die aantonen dat een inslag door een object dat qua grootte vergelijkbaar was met Vesta of Ceres een schijf voort kan brengen die in lijn is met de totstandkoming van Mars’ kleine manen. De buitenste delen van de schijf klonteren samen tot Phobos en Deimos, terwijl de binnenste delen samenklonteren tot grotere manen, die uiteindelijk naar Mars toe bewegen en geassimileerd worden.”

Op basis van het model kunnen verschillende interessante conclusies over de manen van Mars worden getrokken. “Het model voorspelt dat de twee manen voornamelijk bestaan uit materiaal afkomstig van Mars,” vertelt Canup. Wel zou het puin waaruit de manen zijn ontstaan tijdens de inslag van hun water zijn ontdaan. “Wat betekent dat de manen droog zijn.”

Of de modellen een goed beeld geven van wat er werkelijk gebeurd is in de jonge jaren van Mars, is nu niet met zekerheid te zeggen. Maar daar kan over een paar jaar verandering in komen. In 2024 wil de Japanse ruimtevaartorganisatie een sonde naar de manen van Mars sturen. Deze moet op het oppervlak van Phobos landen, wat materiaal verzamelen en terugbrengen naar de aarde. Dan kunnen we de samenstelling van de maan vergelijken met die van Mars en hopelijk vaststellen hoe de twee manen van Mars zijn ontstaan.

AMERICAN AIRLINES PILOT REPORTS UFO WITH ‘BIG REFLECTION’ 40,000 FEET OVER ARIZONA

Pilots on two separate aircraft reported an unidentified flying object high over southern Arizona last month.

One of them, a commercial pilot flying a passenger jet for American Airlines, said the object was above 40,000 feet and “had a big reflection.”

The Feb. 24th incident began when the pilot of a Learjet reported an object to Albuquerque Center air traffic control while flying over the desert in southeastern Arizona.

“I don’t know what it was. It wasn’t an airplane but it was, the path was going in the opposite direction,” the pilot said.

Air traffic controllers asked the pilot of a nearby American Airlines passenger jet traveling from San Francisco to Dallas to let them know if anything passes over the aircraft.

“If anything passes over us?” the pilot asked, somewhat incredulously.

A few minutes later, he saw it ― whatever “it” was.

“Something just passed over us, like a, don’t know what it was, but it was at least two, three thousand feet above us,” he said. “Yeah it passed right over the top of us.”

The American Airlines pilot said he couldn’t make out what the object was but it “had a big reflection” and was going in the opposite direction.

“Was it a Google balloon?” a voice asked.

“Doubtful,” the pilot replied.

“UFO,” someone responded matter-of-factly.

Audio of the mysterious aircraft encounter was first posted on The Drive.

Two months later, it’s still not clear what was up there.

“We don’t have any comment beyond what you hear,” FAA spokesperson Lynn Lunsford told KOB, the NBC station in Albuquerque. “Other than the brief conversation between two aircraft, the controller was unable to verify that any other aircraft was in the area.”

The reported altitude would put the UFO well above the range of consumer drones. Yet the vague nature of the sightings doesn’t completely rule out balloons or experimental aircraft.

The sightings occurred near the Davis–Monthan Air Force Base, and about 100 miles from Luke Air Force Base. Several other bases are within 500 miles. However, Lunsford implied that air traffic controllers would likely know if there was military aircraft in the air.

“We have a close working relationship with a number of other agencies and safely handle military aircraft and civilian aircraft of all types in that area every day, including high-altitude weather balloons,” Lunsford was quoted as saying.

The location of the sightings was also about 500 miles west of one of the most famous UFO incidents in U.S. history: The 1947 UFO “crash” at Roswell, New Mexico. The federal government later said the object was a high-altitude balloon sent up to look for signs of a possible Soviet nuclear test.

Who Was Methuselah? A Man Who Lived For 969 Years According To The Bible

Methuselah, Noah’s grandfather, is considered the man with one of the longest lifespan’s in history and is said to have lived for 969 years until the great flood swept across the land.

But not only is this Biblical character fascinating for his longevity, he is also very important for a number of other reasons.

According to Genesis, Methuselah was the eighth antediluvian patriarch, son of Enoch, father of Lamech and grandfather of Noah (who was the last of these patriarchs).

The following is taken from the King James Version of the Bible.

21 And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:

22 And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:

23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:

24 And Enoch walked with God: and he [was] not; for God took him.

25 And Methuselah lived a hundred eighty and seven years, and begat Lamech:

26 And Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech seven hundred eighty and two years, and begat sons and daughters:

Methuselah is mentioned in Genesis as the son of Enoch and father of Lamec—who in turn was the father of Noah—whom he fathered at 187 years of age.

His name has become a general synonym applied to any elderly creature, used in phrases such as “having more years than Methuselah” or “being older than Methuselah”.

A careful reading of the Old Testament reveals that Methuselah reportedly died in the year of the Great Flood.

Three manuscript traditions, the Masoretic, the Septuagint and the Samaritan Torah offer different timelines.

If we take a look at the Masoretic, an authoritative Hebrew and Aramaic text of the Tanakh for Rabbinic Judaism, was 187 years when his son was born. He died the year of the Flood at the age of 969.

The Septuagint,  sometimes referred to as the Greek Old Testament, the earliest extant Greek translation of the Old Testament from the original Hebrew indicates how Methuselah was 187 years when his son was born and died at the age of 969, but six years before the great flood.

According to the Samaritan Torah,  a text of the first five books of the Hebrew Bible, written in the Samaritan alphabet and used as scripture by the Samaritans, Methuselah was 67 years old when his son was born, and he died at the age of 720 years, the years the Great Flood took place.

These ‘discrepancies’ in ancient texts have been explained in a number of ways, the most obvious one being the accidental corruption by copyists and translators.

Some errors may be the result of attempts to correct previous errors.

But despite the fact that there are discrepancies in the dates, one thing remains the same: Methuselah lived beyond the life expectancy of ordinary humans.

So, what does that make him? Was Methuselah perhaps, not human?

How on Earth is it possible that someone can live for 969 years?

It shouldn’t be possible.

The Ancient Sumerian King List.

However, if we take a look at another ancient text, the Ancient Sumerian King List, we find plenty of ‘historic’ evidence of ‘Kings’ living on Earth for thousands of years.

If we take a look at the Sumerian King list we’ll see that it clearly states:

“After the kingship descended from heaven, the kingship was in Eridug. In Eridug, Alulim became king; he ruled for 28800 years. Alaljar ruled for 36000 years. 2 kings; they ruled for 64800 years.”

The Sumerian King List describes eight kings who ruled over Earth for a total of 241,200 years, since the original kingship had ‘descended from heaven’ all the way to the time of the ‘Great Flood’, which swept over the land and once more “the kingship was lowered from heaven” after the Flood.

So, there we see different historical sources describing ‘people’ actually living on Earth for hundreds and even thousands of years.

But ordinary humans can’t live that long.

According to James W. Vaupel an American scientist in the fields of aging research, biodemography, and formal demography, life expectancy began to increase in 1840 with the decrease in infant mortality and adolescent mortality and has continued to rise, in an average increase of two and a half years each decade.

Vaupel’s research shows that life expectancy is likely to increase well beyond the purported limit of 85 years.

But 85 is still a long way from 969 years of life.

Our current knowledge about the lifespan of a cell leads us to suppose that the natural limit of longevity in the human being is below 150 years.

The Guinness record for the longest human lifespan is that of Jeanne Calment of France (1875–1997), who lived to the age of 122 years, 164 days.

Some authors believe that human beings lived close to a thousand years, until after the flood, God shortened this age (Genesis 6:3) Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not strivewith man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”

But was it really an act of God, the fact that human lifespan was shortened?

Or is it possible that there is another, more extravagant explanation, one that suggests that in the days of Methuselah, beings not from Earth, walked on our planet?

IN 1947, A HIGH-ALTITUDE BALLOON CRASH LANDED IN ROSWELL. THE ALIENS NEVER LEFT

But we’re getting ahead of ourselves.

Let’s start closer to the beginning. On June 14, 1947, a rancher named W.W. “Mac” Brazel and his son Vernon were driving across their ranchland some 80 miles northwest of Roswell when they encountered something they’d never seen before. It was, in Brazel’s words, “a large area of bright wreckage made up of rubber strips, tinfoil, and rather tough paper, and sticks.”

The metallic-looking, lightweight fabric was scattered, shredded across the gravel and sagebrush of the New Mexico desert. Brazel didn’t know what to do with the newfound items, or how they had landed on the property, so on July 4 he collected all of the mysterious wreckage he could find. On July 7, he drove it all to Roswell, delivering the goods to Sheriff George Wilcox.

Wilcox, too, was confounded.

Seeking answers, he contacted Colonel “Butch” Blanchard, commander of the Roswell Army Airfield’s 509th Composite Group, located just outside of town. Blanchard was stymied. Working his way up the chain of command, he decided to contact his superior, General Roger W. Ramey, commander of the 8th Air Force in Fort Worth, Texas.

Blanchard also sent Major Jesse Marcel, an intelligence officer from the base, to investigate more thoroughly. Accompanied by the sheriff and Brazel, Marcel returned to the site and collected all of the “wreckage.” As they tried to ascertain what the materials were, Marcel chose to make a public statement. On July 8, Marcel’s comments ran in the local afternoon newspaper, the Roswell Daily Record, alongside a headline stating “RAAF Captures Flying Saucer on Ranch in Roswell.”

The body of the story contained a dramatic, memorable sentence: “The intelligence office of the 509th Bombardment Group at Roswell Army Air Field announced at noon today, that the field has come into the possession of a Flying Saucer.”

“Apparently, it was better from the Air Force’s perspective that there was a crashed ‘alien’ spacecraft out there than to tell the truth,” says Roger Launius, the recently-retired curator of space history at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.

“A flying saucer was easier to admit than Project Mogul,” Launius adds, a chuckle in his voice. “And with that, we were off to the races.”

It was after the close of World War II, a time when nuclear weapons cast a long shadow. Truth-telling was not a priority, and there were remarkably unusual events underscoring the situation at hand.

Everywhere you looked in 1947, the global, social and political chessboard was being re-divided. The Soviet Union began to claim eastern European nations for itself in a new post-war vacuum. Voice of America started broadcasting in Russian to the eastern bloc, peddling the principles of American democracy. The U.S. sent V2 rockets carrying payloads of corn seeds and fruit flies into outer space. The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists set the “Doomsday Clock” ticking, and the Marshall Plan was in the making to rebuild war-torn Europe. Small wonder that in the heat of summer that year, flying saucers became all the rage.

On June 21, Navy Seaman Harold Dahl claimed to have seen six unidentified flying objects in the sky near Maury Island in Washington state’s Puget Sound. The next morning, Dahl said he was sought out and debriefed by “men in black.”

Three days after the Dahl sighting, an amateur pilot named Kenneth Arnold said he had spotted a flying saucer in the sky by Mount Rainer, Washington.

“UFOs aren’t unusual,” Launius says. “They’re simply unidentified things you see in the sky. We’ve all probably seen them. And, if you look long enough, you’ll probably eventually figure out what it is you’re looking at. It’s not extraterrestrials.”

By the end of 1947, mass hysteria had seized the global mindset, with more than 300 alleged “flying saucer” sightings in the last six months of that year alone.

“Not that there was ever any credible evidence to support the sightings,” Launius adds.

By early July 1947, Brazel had heard tales of flying saucers in the Pacific Northwest. These sightings spurred him to show his discovery to the authorities, but just one day after the Air Force announced it had come into possession of a flying saucer, Roswell’s morning newspaper debunked the story.

A published statement from the War Department in Washington claimed the debris collected on Brazel’s ranch was the remains of a weather balloon, and the Roswell Dispatch’s morning headline, “Army Debunks Roswell Flying Disc as World Simmers with Excitement,” set the tale to rest on July 9.

“But we need to back it up, here,” says Launius. “What was really going on was something called Project Mogul.”

In this classified program, the U.S. government launched high-altitude balloons into the ionosphere, hoping to monitor Russian nuclear tests. “The Russians wouldn’t get a nuclear weapon until 1949,” Launius adds. “But we didn’t know that in 1947.”

And, Launius adds, thanks to the new, horrifyingly powerful weapon and a changing geopolitical landscape, it was a time of paranoia.

Still, if the rumor of extraterrestrial visitors had been put to rest by the government, it didn’t die as easily in the public mind.

“But that was it, really,” says Launius. “The debate was over. It was to be the end of speculation. According to the government, the matter was closed. The debris was from a weather balloon.”     

Of course, though, that wasn’t the end.

There would be a 1948 report from the government about what was now being called the “Roswell Incident.” In 1950, Frank Scully, a reporter for Variety, wrote Behind the Flying Saucers, a book that detailed alien encounters from the Pacific Northwest to the towns of Aztec and Farmington, New Mexico, where aliens were now said to be landing their aircrafts in people’s backyards.

By then, enthusiasm for flying saucers had spread everywhere from Belgium to Russia and Japan. A rumor that had started as a convenient lie for the Air Force had become a distraction to the U.S. government, which was now deep into its nuclear weapons monitoring projects. “But there was no way the Air Force was going to admit what it was doing,” Launius says.

Project Mogul was conducted out of Washington, D.C. and the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, with some high-altitude balloon launches taking place in the high desert near the state’s border with Texas.

Typically, a Project Mogul balloon sent into high altitude stretched 657 feet from tip to tail, 102 feet taller than the Washington Monument and twice as tall as the Statue of Liberty.

As balloons rode on the upper jet stream toward Russia, a long tail equipped with different types of sensing and listening devices trailed behind.

“But, obviously, something happened to this one balloon,” Launius says. “It came back to Earth and probably was spread across a wide area.”

Although much of the documentation about Project Mogul has now been declassified, Launius says that civilian access to information failed to stop the lure of extraterrestrial life.

Because the U.S. government was now in a frenzy of nuclear testing—both in the South Pacific and, later, at the Nevada Test Site—the hermetic silence around classified government programs left a certain segment of citizens suspicious. The UFO sightings continued.

“Then we get to the late 1970s and early 1980s,” Launius says. “And that period saw a real spike in extraterrestrial interest, from movies to books and other things.”

Movies such as Star Wars, Close Encounters of the Third Kind and ET, plus dozens of books on the subject, brought aliens to the forefront of the public mindset once again.

“By that time,” Launius says, “people’s imaginations had gotten the best of them.”

Suddenly, there were rumors of regular extraterrestrial life on Earth, not to mention crashed spaceships. There were now stories of two alien ships crashing in New Mexico in June 1947, scattering their contents and tiny green crewmen across the landscape. Before long, any secret government property—from nuclear sites to engineering locations—was suspected to house deceased or imprisoned aliens.

This was most evident at Area 51, an off-limits airstrip and aircraft engineering and development facility inside the Nevada Test Site, about 90 minutes north of Las Vegas. It was rumored that aliens from the Roswell spacecraft and other crashed ships were either being autopsied or slid into cylindrical glass tanks containing gel-like preservatives.

The government wasn’t helping to quell speculation, either. At their most secretive sites, they posted large, unambiguous “No Trespassing” signs, often with a reminder to those who entered illegally: “Use of Deadly Force Authorized.”

And the alien hysteria had gotten even wackier. By the early 1990s, with scant evidence to support it, a global UFO and extraterrestrial industry had come into existence. There were more movies. More books. More newspaper and magazine stories, more television news segments and shows focused on visitors from space.

In Roswell, the populace had been cashing in on the alien craze for some time. The town was home to the International UFO Museum and Research Center, and even a local Wal-Mart got into the spirit, decorating its walls and front windows with green-skinned, large-headed aliens. Roswell’s civic seal sports an artist rendering of an alien, and the exterior of the local McDonald’s in town has enough spacecraft-based accessories to look like a ship preparing to take off for some distant galaxy. Along the town’s Main Street, toy aliens, flying saucers and other extraterrestrial ephemera are sold in local shops.

Roger Launius has served as the chief historian of NASA and sat on several investigative panels discussing what might exist beyond Earth, but he seems more amused by the 70 years of hysteria surrounding the “Roswell Incident” than anything else.

“Well, all I really know,” he says, “is that UFOs are exactly that. They’re unidentified objects seen in the air. But that’s not extraterrestrials.”

This simply amazing historical event was described as being silent, but with incredible views of mysterious flying disks highly reflective, shining like the sun. According to this ancient text, the departure of the otherworldly visitors was marked by a mysterious event, as fish rained down from the heaven, almost as if some kind of unknown force affected the surroundings!

In order to truly understand this ancient text this evidence would ideally need to be studies again in more detail.  But isn’t it interesting that the original papyrus is gone!? But guess what people, top Researcher Samuel Rosenberg has already requested from the Vatican Museum an official opportunity to examine this mysterious/unknown important document, but the reply he received pretty much confirmed that ‘somebody’ does not want ANY interest shown in this key area and he had a response of:

If Humanity Discovered That Earth Would Be Destroyed In 400 years, What Would Be Humanity’s Response?

A rogue planet ejected from its home solar system billions of years ago has wandered through interstellar space until it crossed our solar system’s gravity well. This slight trajectory deflection has put it on a direct path for impact with Earth. Scientists detected havoc in the Oort cloud out past Pluto. The Oort cloud is in chaos. Using our best minds and observatories we determined that the object is in the magnitude in size of Jupiter. Since it is travelling at a relativistic speed we have 400 years until Earth is no more.

Would the world band together and try to figure out a way to save humanity or would it be too far away and we would just let future generations figure out the solution?

The first astronomers to detect the upcoming event might not even recognize the danger. Anything that will take 400 years to hit us will be passing through a variety of gravitational fields and will be aiming at a location that might seemingly have nothing to do with Earth.

But at some point, someone would run the numbers and discover that yes indeed, we were facing the possibility of a celestial collision. At this point, they would only be thinking in terms of probabilities and not certainties. But after they shared their findings with other astronomers, gradually a general consensus would form, that the celestial body did not represent a mere possibility of colliding with Earth, but that it almost certainly would.

By this time, the astronomers had made no attempt to hide their work so far, the news would have already hit the Internet. But very few lay people would be able to follow the math, so there might be a series of confused news articles talking about something hitting something else someday.

But gradually the articles would gain coherence, the Wikipedia entry would become clearer and more persuasive. Counter-arguments and competing mathematics would be discredited, and a general sense of disturbance would begin to spread through the planet.

The governments of the world, while saying nothing publicly, would have long-since been in communication with the astronomers, and done their own verification of the science. In addition, they would have analyzed the possible effects of an impact, the probable number of deaths, the time it might take for human civilization and economies to recover. They would have considered the options of attempting somehow to divert the oncoming celestial body, the size of the required explosion, the mass and trajectory of debris, and other details. Finally, they would reach the inescapable conclusion that the impact could not be prevented and that the destruction would be too great for any kind of recovery. In 400 years the planet would be totally destroyed, with no hope that any life would survive.

During these considerations, NASA would for several months already have been calculating the possibility of resettling a portion of humanity onto another planetary body in the solar system. They would estimate the likelihood that the destruction of Earth would affect the orbits of other planets, or that debris from the impact might fly into any prospective resettlement area.

Official government spokespeople would have no comment yet. If asked, they would simply reply that they didn’t want to “get ahead of the science,” and that “so far, nothing is known for certain.” But they’d affirm that they’d have more to say when the scientific questions had been better understood.

At this point, only a very small minority of people would be expressing any sort of outrage at their government’s silence, or at the existence of the threat itself. Those people would be quite vocal, but the Internet buzz and radio talk-show hosts would always say something along the lines of, “even if it’s real, it’s 400 years in the future. Relax.” And that would echo the sentiments of many Americans, if not people throughout the world.

Eventually, the United States, China, Russia, and the European Union would make a joint announcement. The leaders of those nations, speaking together at the United Nations building in New York City, would announce a plan to create a series of large-scale, self-sufficient settlements on several planets and moons throughout the solar system. The impending threat against the Earth would not be mentioned. When asked if there was a connection between the colonial project and the threat of destruction, the reply would be that this project was a normal outgrowth of the space programs of all developed nations, and should be welcomed as a sign of ongoing human progress.

Gradually, budgeting for the various components of the colonial enterprise would be established. Research would proceed on a number of fronts, including the construction of space elevators along the equator, habitats capable of transporting large numbers of people across interplanetary distances, and larger habitats capable of maintaining those people indefinitely at specific locations throughout the solar system. There would also be a new focus on asteroid mining and bulk transportation of non-living cargo between planets. As reported in the news, each colony would need a permanent source of raw materials, ongoing protection of necessary atmospheric conditions, and a long-term effort to transform each colonial planet and moon into an Earth-like body with appropriate atmospheric and ecological conditions. Those terraforming efforts, however, would be acknowledged to require thousands of years, and would not be a major part of the requirements for the initial set of colonial outposts.

The first colonies would be established on Mars. Many lives would be lost in those initial efforts. But the governments of the world would praise those who sacrificed their lives and would redouble the effort to address the remaining technical problems. The colonial projects would go forward, government spokespeople would say, in spite of any obstacles.

After Mars, Jupiter would also be home to many colonies, in the form of orbiting stations. These stations would have a modular construction so that they could be continually expanded. Over the next hundred years, a ring of such constructions would gradually form around the planet, syphoning its material needs largely from Jupiter’s gaseous atmosphere. The water of Ganymede and the Earth itself would begin to be harvested for use by all colonial projects.

The first wave of colonists would be highly trained specialists, capable of building the colonial infrastructure and then setting up the requirements of actual habitation.

The next wave, however, would be taken from the impoverished countries of the world. In exchange for risking their lives, they would be given commercial opportunities in the new colonies. Like the early Martian colonies, many participants in this second wave would perish as well, until each colony was securely established and tested under proper load.

The third wave would consist of the populations of wealthy nations. Tens of millions of people would migrate to thriving economies ready to receive them. The occasional atmospheric accident would be hushed up as quietly as possible. But the governments of the world would provide whatever incentives were necessary in order to keep up migration rates.

Eventually, after half the world’s population had been resettled, the governments would acknowledge publicly for the first time that within another 200 years the planet would be destroyed by a celestial collision. They would put forward the colonies as a perfectly reasonable option and offer further economic incentives for people to migrate. They would also impose new laws restricting childbirth on Earth. Later, the restrictions would be tightened until all new Earth-based pregnancies were outlawed. An underclass of undocumented natives would spring up, living largely off the grid, and difficult to gather into the migratory waves.

By now the government officials would all have migrated to the colonies themselves, remotely overseeing a set of small, isolated, local governments on Earth. Among the off-world governments, there would be ongoing negotiations, attempting to unite them all into one; but these would be slow and unpromising, given religious, tribal, and political histories on Earth. But the United Nations would be quite strong and would play a large role in ongoing decision-making for the colonies as well as for the remaining local governments on Earth.

By the time of the destruction, only a few hundred million people would remain on Earth. The impact would be streamed live to viewers in every colony. Everyone, everywhere, would feel the loss as a tragic event; and would feel the uncertainty of their own future. How could these little colonies, these little bubbles of air, with no history, ever hope to have a future? And this uncertainty would become an inspiration to young people that would rally an inventiveness and resourcefulness throughout the colonies, and would lead them to make great leaps of technological advancement and to overcome the remaining obstacles to humanity’s continued survival.

Do aliens live on Pluto? Here’s what NASA astrobiologist said

Pluto, which was once the ninth planet of our solar system, boasts an enormous ocean made of ice and water that might be containing extraterrestrial life, claim NASA scientists. Previously, researchers thought that the dwarf planet Pluto is located too far from the Sun to support biological life. Apparently, Steven Vance, an astrobiologist at NASA, believes that the ocean in Pluto might be loaded with various elements like ethyl alcohol, methanol, hydrocarbons like methane and ethane, and various other complicated particles made up of carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen, and oxygen; all these substances are building blocks of life and one cannot negate the possibilities of alien life on the dwarf planet.

The astronomers used to think Pluto as a remote bone chilling rock planet. But with the visit of New Horizons, the assumption seemed to be a little bit different. Considering the data and information provided by the New Horizons, the hypothesis for the most appealing planet of the solar system has kept on varying. A prior study revealed that the center of Pluto is warm enough to bolster a liquid water sea, and the latest study has discovered that the source of water in Pluto may be enormous. The study also said that the source wouldn’t be less than 62 miles deep. As indicated by the group from Brown University, this is however confirmed that the in-depth water source of Pluto is at least 100 km.

In addition, scientists from NASA have also found out earth like icy features on Pluto and suspect that this can be a new beginning of discovering new life on other planets. A similar kind of weather forecasting device was used by meteorologists, to find icy features on Pluto. Through computer simulations, physicists have found out ice evaporation on Pluto. Penitents are formed by erosion. These are bowl-shaped depressions with spires around their edges. They are several meters high and icy in nature. Researchers are suspecting that these features may exist on other planets too, where environmental conditions are similar.

The new study published in the journal Nature reveals that the condition on Pluto is very similar to its moon Charon. They both have an abundant quantity of ammonia required for survival of alien life. Scientists believe that Pluto’s ocean might be harbouring bacterial lifeforms beneath the ocean.

“You do not have space for bacteria on Pluto, much less for fish or other life as we understand it here in the world. But, similar to the methane seas on Titan, Saturn’s primary moon, this research study raises the concern of whether brand-new life types might exist in these cold, unique liquids,” said lead study author Willian McKinnon. “Life can endure lots of things. It can endure a great deal of salt, severe cold, severe heat, and so on. However, I do not believe it can endure such a big quantity of ammonia. If we were to think of life in an ocean totally covered with a layer of ice, the very best we might wish for would be a type of extremely primitive life, possibly even pre-cellular.”

Marfa, Texas  has been enchanted by sightings of mysterious "ghost lights"  for over a century. The glowing balls of light of varying sizes show up in the sky seemingly randomly, and behave in ways that no man-made craft or flying animal should - like zipping from one part of the sky to the other, and disappearing and reappearing. You can travel to Marfa to observe the lights yourself, as they are a popular tourist attraction! But could they just be an optical illusion? US Route 67 is a magical stretch of road, is that is where the famous unexplained lights of Marfa, Texas appear. Although they don't show up all the time, they show up frequently enough to earn a reputation not only in Marfa, but around the world. Even scientists have tried to explain them. The University of Texas at Dallas studied the Marfa lights in 2004 and was apparently able to prove a strong correlation between highway traffic and the UFO sightings, deducing that the lights were just an optical illusion caused by passing car headlights, a popular theory at the time. However, many still believe the Marfa Lights have a much more mysterious story than that, considering that their story began in the late 1800s, before car traffic even existed. Secret Pentagon UFO Program 'Still Exists' and It's Investigating 'Significant Pilot Encounters'

In 2017, The New York Times published one of the most important stories in recent history: the government cover-up surrounding unidentified flying objects that had secretly received $22 million in hidden funding.

According to Leslie Kean, the journalist who broke the news, this is only the beginning—genuinely important discoveries are coming from the research that the government is doing by investigating pilots' close encounters.

"This is no laughing matter," Kean recently told WTOP, before going into greater detail about how the government's ongoing program is producing results:

"The researchers in this area have always speculated and wondered what is going on behind the scenes. Is there a government investigation into this? And now we know that the answer is yes. It just establishes a credibility for the topic for people to know that our government takes it seriously enough to have put financial resources into it and to have studied it for all these years. We know that this program existed, it still exists, and it investigated military cases and very significant cases of pilot encounters with these objects."

Referencing the genuinely puzzling phenomena that the government is investigating, Kean mentioned a 2004 incident in which military pilots in the skies above San Diego saw a fleet of Tic-Tac-shaped UFOs that moved in a bizarre fashion.

"These objects in this one incident in 2004 were actually observed coming in from outer space. They came in and then they went out, up into the sky. So whatever that means, that's what happened. They were also seen able to move very, very, very fast from one space to another. Way faster than any airplane could do."

This is an incident that comes up pretty much every time the subject of UFOs is discussed; it's a rare example of a phenomenon that can't be explained away by questioning the observer's credibility. Pilot David Fravor has gone on record multiple times, insisting that he saw proof of advanced alien weaponry that could kick off a real-life War of the Worlds.


That said, it's important to note that not all experts are convinced. Many believe this is more an Orson Welles War of the Worlds situation, in which a benign incident spreads the rumor of mass panic. One expert believes that the San Diego sighting is the result of a fixed camera angle that makes the UFO look more impressive than it actually is, while another sighting of a similar UFO ultimately turned out to be a birthday balloon.

If the most compelling UFO case in history is also subject to speculation and skepticism, it's probably not wise to assume that the US government is making as much headway as Kean would like people to believe.

The subject of UFOs is very polarizing. Some people genuinely believe that they exist (sometimes in the absence of adequate proof), while others refuse to entertain the notion that these reports could be real (despite an occasional lack of an adequate alternative explanation).

For now, we'll just have to keep watching the skies, and hope that, one way or the other, we'll eventually figure out what's going on up there.
