At last, after years of speculation and conspiracy theories, the Pentagon’s secretive UFO unit is going to make some of its findings public!!
They are out there
A consultant to the agency has briefed US Defense Department officials of some highly unusual discoveries ― including items retrieved from “off-world vehicles not made on this Earth.”
The Pentagon had claimed that it disbanded its UFO office, now it is understood that the department had in reality simply changed names and moved, and a US Senate committee report suggests it will be expected to make some information public every six months.
The main goal isn’t actually to confirm alien spaceships exist, but rather to see if thousands of confounding sightings ― including some by the military ― are actually advanced technology from rival nations like Russia and China for example. The soon to be released report also hints at possible artefacts from UFO crashes.
What do we know about Area 51?
Area 51 refers to a map location and is the popular name for a United States Air Force base. It is at Groom Lake, a dry lake bed in the Nevada Desert, 85 miles (135km) north of Las Vegas. What goes on inside is extremely secret. Members of the public are kept away by warning signs, electronic surveillance and armed guards.
It is also illegal to fly over Area 51, although the site is now visible on satellite images. The base has runways up to 12,000ft (2.3 miles/3.7km) long.

“Off-world vehicles not made on this Earth”.
Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.):
“After looking into this, I came to the conclusion that there were reports — some were substantive, some not so substantive — that there were actual materials that the government and the private sector had in their possession,” he told the newspaper.
Astrophysicist Eric W. Davis, who has been a subcontractor and consultant for the Pentagon, said he had briefed the Defense Department in March this year about the “off-world vehicles not made on this Earth.”
He said he has examined some of the materials and made a startling discovery, he concluded: “we couldn’t make it ourselves.”
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) also indicated that he was concerned that supposed UFOs could be advanced tech from foreign nations.
Regular Sightings at Military bases
“We have things flying over our military bases and places where we’re conducting military exercises, and we don’t know what it is, and it isn’t ours,” Rubio, who is acting chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, he continued:
“I would say that, frankly, that if it’s something from outside this planet, that might actually be better than the fact that we’ve seen some technological leap on behalf of the Chinese or the Russians or some other adversary that allows them to conduct this sort of activity.”
He said the objects in these sightings “exhibit, potentially, technologies that you don’t have at your own disposal” making them a national security risk.
The military’s encounters with possible UFOs have come under intense interest in recent years since several videos were leaked in 2017 showing encounters with fast-moving objects including one given the nickname “Tic Tac” because it looked like one of the candies. This object, still not publicly identified, dropped from 60,000 feet to just 50 feet in a matter of seconds:
“The part that drew our attention was how it wasn’t behaving within the normal laws of physics,” pilot Chad Underwood filmed the “Tic Tac” encounter. The military has since confirmed that the footage is real, and formally declassified it in spring, but has said little else about it.
National Security could be compromised
The Navy told UFO researcher Christian Lambright in a Freedom of Information Act request that releasing more information “would cause exceptionally grave damage to the National Security of the United States.”
To The Stars Academy, a company co-founded by former Blink 182 frontman Tom DeLonge which has worked to reveal UFO information and helped expose the 2017 videos, celebrated the newest developments. “TTSA welcomes the increase in transparency and is steadfast in our mission to educate policymakers and support continued interest and engagement on this topic,” the organization said via Facebook.

Humans settled in the Americas much earlier than previously thought, according to new finds from Mexico.
They suggest people were living there 33,000 years ago, twice the widely accepted age for the earliest settlement of the Americas.
The results are based on work at Chiquihuite Cave, a high-altitude rock shelter in central Mexico.
Archaeologists found nearly 2,000 stone tools, suggesting the cave was used by people for at least 20,000 years.
Ice age
During the second half of the 20th Century, a consensus emerged among North American archaeologists that the Clovis people had been the first to reach the Americas, about 11,500 years ago.
The ancestors of the Clovis were thought to have crossed a land bridge linking Siberia to Alaska during the last ice age.
This land bridge - known as Beringia - subsequently disappeared underwater as the ice melted.
And these big-game hunters were thought to have contributed to the extinction of the megafauna - large mammals such as mammoth, mastodon and various species of bear that roamed the region until the end of the last ice age.
Break down
As the "Clovis First" idea took hold, reports of earlier human settlement were dismissed as unreliable and archaeologists stopped looking for signs of earlier occupation.
But in the 1970s, this orthodoxy started to be challenged.
In the 1980s, solid evidence for a 14,500-year-old human presence at Monte Verde, Chile, emerged.

Now, Ciprian Ardelean, from the Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas, Mexico, Tom Higham, from the University of Oxford, and colleagues have found evidence of human occupation stretching back far beyond that date, at the Chiquihuite site in the central-northern Mexican Highlands.
"This is a unique site, we've never seen anything like it before," Prof Higham, the director of Oxford's Radiocarbon Accelerator Unit, told BBC News.
"The stone-tool evidence is very, very compelling.
"Anyone can see that these are deliberately manufactured stone tools and there are lots of them.
"The dating - which is my job - is robust.
"And so, it's a very exciting site to have been involved in."
Dating techniques
The team excavated a 3m-deep (10ft) stratigraphic section - a sequence of soil layers arranged in the order they were deposited - and found some 1,900 stone artefacts made over thousands of years.
Researchers were able to date bone, charcoal and sediment associated with the stone tools, using two scientific dating techniques.
The first, radiocarbon dating, relies on the way a radioactive form of the element carbon (carbon-14) is known to decay over time.
The second, optically stimulated luminescence (OSL), works by measuring the last time sediments were exposed to light.

Using two different techniques "added a lot of credibility and strength, particularly to the older part of the chronology", Prof Higham said.
"The optical dates and [radiocarbon] dates are in good agreement," he said.
And the findings could lead scientists to take a fresh look at controversial early occupation sites elsewhere in the Americas.
"In Brazil, there are several sites where you have stone tools that look robust to me and are dated 26-30,000, similar dates to the Chiquihuite site," Prof Higham said.
"This could be an important discovery that could stimulate new work to find other sites in the Americas that date to this period."
A different perspective
Prof David Meltzer, from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, who was not involved in the research, said the findings were "interesting". But he explained: "It is not enough to argue that the stone specimens could be cultural (artefacts), one has to show that they are not natural." Natural processes could mimic some types of stone tool, Prof Meltzer said.
Second, he explained: "With a stone tool tradition that long-lasting, one expects it would have been far more widespread in the region, raising the question of why that technology hasn't been spotted elsewhere," adding: "Perhaps more important, with modern humans one expects to see evidence of technological and cultural change over such a long span of time."
Finally, he said, "the cave is 1,000 metres above the valley floor, but leaving aside the issue of why not camp closer to the valley floor, why keep coming back to that same place on 'a relatively constant basis' over such a long period of time? I find that curious. Not many sites have that kind of long term repeated occupation, unless there is something quite useful / available at the spot".
Travel options
Between 26,000-19,000 years ago, sea levels were low enough for people to cross easily from Siberia to America via the Beringian land bridge. But what about during earlier times?
"Before 26,000 years ago, the latest data suggest that Beringia might have been a rather unattractive place for humans to be. It might well have been boggy and very difficult to traverse," said Prof Higham.
"We still think the most likely scenario is for people to have come on a coastal route - hugging a coast - perhaps with some kind of maritime technology."
While people seem to have been in the Americas before 26,000 years ago, they were probably thin on the ground. It's only much later, between 14,000 and 15,000 years ago, that populations increase substantially.
It coincides with the temperature spike at the end of the last Ice Age, when jumps of around 7C are seen in just a short space of time.
Native Americans
The scientists also used "environmental DNA" techniques to look for human genetic material in the cave sediments.
But they could not find a strong enough signal.
Previous DNA evidence has shown the Clovis people shared many similarities with modern Native Americans.
And scientists will now want to understand how these older populations relate to later human groups who inhabited the continent.
Between March and May 2020, many people across Earth went into lockdown. During those months, seismographs recorded a drop in human-linked vibrations in the solid Earth, by an average of 50%.

Seismometers measure seismic waves from big events such as earthquakes, volcanos, bombs and so on. At the same time, they pick up what’s called seismic noise – ambient vibrations – from things like wind, rivers, ocean waves and human activities (especially travel and industry). According to a new study by an international team of researchers, Earth’s seismic noise level dropped by an average of 50% between March and May 2020, during the Covid-19 lockdown.
In a July 23, 2020, statement from Imperial College London, which took part in the study, researchers said this quiet period was likely caused by the total global effect of social distancing measures, closure of services and industry, and drops in tourism and travel.
They said it is the longest and most pronounced quiet period of seismic noise in recorded history.
Before this study, scientists knew that human-generated noise tends to dampen during quiet periods, for example, over the Christmas and New Year holidays in the western hemisphere, over Chinese New Year in Asia, and even during weekends and overnight. However, the researchers said that the drop in vibrations caused by Covid-19 lockdown measures eclipse those seen during such periods.

The new research showed that the largest drops in vibrations were seen in the most densely populated areas, for example, Singapore and New York City. Drops in vibrations were also recorded in remote areas, such as Germany’s Black Forest and Rundu in Namibia. The statement explained:
The strongest drops were found in urban areas, but the study also found signatures of the lockdown on sensors buried hundreds of meters underground …
Stephen Hicks from Imperial College London is a co-author of the study, which was published July 23 in the peer-reviewed journal Science. Hicks said in the scientists’ statement:
Our study uniquely highlights just how much human activities impact the solid Earth.
He added that the study could also let scientists see more clearly than ever what differentiates human and natural noise.
For this study, researchers looked at seismic data from a global network of 268 seismic stations in 117 countries. They found significant noise reductions compared to before any lockdown at 185 of those stations.
Beginning in China in late January 2020, and followed by Europe and the rest of the world in March to April 2020, researchers tracked the “wave” of quietening between March and May as worldwide lockdown measures took hold.
Citizen-owned seismometers (like the one pictured above), which tend to measure more localized noise, noted large drops around universities and schools around Cornwall in the U.K. and Boston in the U.S., a drop in noise 20% larger than seen during school holidays.
Countries like Barbados, where lockdown coincided with the tourist season, saw a 50% decrease in noise. This coincided with flight data that suggested tourists returned home in the weeks before official lockdown.
The study reports the first evidence that previously concealed earthquake signals, especially during daytime, appeared much clearer on seismometers in urban areas during lockdown. The study’s authors hope that their work will spawn further research on the seismic lockdown, as well as finding previously hidden signals from earthquakes and volcanoes. Hicks said:
The lockdowns caused by the coronavirus pandemic may have given us a glimmer of insight into how human and natural noise interacts with the Earth. We hope this insight will spawn new studies that help us listen better to the Earth and understand natural signals we would otherwise have missed.
Bottom line:The Covid-19 lockdown caused a 50% global reduction in human-linked Earth vibrations between March and May 2020.
For the first time ever, physicists have spotted rare, ghostly particles produced by a weird kind of fusion inside the sun.
The particles, called CNO-produced neutrinos, traveled from the sun to a detector buried deep beneath a mountain in Italy. This discovery brings humans one step closer to understanding the fiery nuclear reactions fueling our home star.
"With this outcome," physicist Gioacchino Ranucci, a physicist at Italy's National Institute for Nuclear Physics in Milan, told Live Science. "Borexino has completely unraveled the two processes powering the sun."
Two types of nuclear fusion reactions occur in the sun's core. The first, and most common, is proton-proton fusion, where protons fuse to transform hydrogen into helium. Scientists predict such reactions generate 99% of the sun's energy. Rarely, nuclear fusion occurs via a six-step process, called the CNO cycle, where hydrogen is fused to helium using carbon (C), nitrogen (N), and oxygen (O). Proton-proton fusion and the CNO-cycle create different types of neutrinos, subatomic particles that are nearly massless and can pass through ordinary matter without a hint of their presence, at least most of the time. Physicists routinely detect neutrinos created during the proton-proton process. However, on June 23, at the Neutrino 2020 Virtual Meeting, researchers from Italy's Borexino detector announced that they had detected CNO-produced solar neutrinos for the very first time.
The underground Borexino Experiment, at the Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso, near the town of L'Aquila, Italy, was designed to study these extremely rare neutrino interactions. The Borexino detector consists of a tank approximately 60 feet (18 meters) tall that contains 280 tons (254 metric tons) of scintillating liquid — which flashes light when electrons in the liquid interact with a neutrino. A bright flash, which indicates higher energy, is more likely to be from CNO-produced neutrinos.
Buried deep underground and cocooned in a water tank, Borexino's internal tank is lined with sensitive detectors that are extremely isolated from background radiation from cosmic rays present at Earth's surface. Without this shielding, other signals would drown out the rare signals coming from CNO neutrinos.
Ranucci also credits the "unprecedented purity" of the scintillating liquid with much of the experiment's success.
Comparing the observed CNO neutrino observation with the number of observed proton-proton neutrinos will help reveal how much of the sun is made up of elements heavier than hydrogen such as carbon, nitrogen and oxygen. The current results, although not yet peer-reviewed and published in a scientific journal, showed a significance greater than 5 sigma with a greater than 99% confidence level, meaning there is just a 1 in 3.5 million chance that the signal was produced by random fluctuations, rather than the CNO process.
The Borexino international collaboration is made up of researchers from Italy, France, Germany, Poland, Russia, and three universities from the United States, Princeton, Virginia Tech and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
The ink is barely dry on the so-called ‘big’ revelation by The New York Times that the Pentagon’s thought-to-be-disbanded Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) never was and is now the funded and functional Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force … AND it’s getting ready (well, every six months starting at some unnamed time) to reveal what it has recovered from UFO/UAP crash sites, including what it quoted astrophysicist Eric W. Davis described as “off-road vehicles not made on this earth” and former Senator Harry Reid said were “actual materials,” not just theories. EXCEPT …
“I have no knowledge—and I have never suggested—the federal government or any entity has unidentified flying objects or debris from other worlds. I have consistently said we must stick to science, not fairy tales about little green men.”

“(The Department of Defense) is creating a task force to gain knowledge and insight into the nature and origins of UAPs (as well as their) operations, capabilities, performance, and/or signatures. (The mission) will be to detect, analyze, catalog, consolidate, and exploit non-traditional aerospace vehicles/UAPs posing an operational threat to U.S. national security and avoid strategic surprise.”
Popular Mechanics is no longer just your dad’s go-to source for car maintenance and home improvement tips – it received and published a response to its request for more information from Department of Defense strategic planner and spokesperson Sue Gough about The New York Times article and she spun it that the Pentagon “is creating” the Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force to retrieve, review and reverse-engineer anything non-US it detects over its (and hopefully our) airspace. That wasn’t enough for British UFO expert Nick Pope, who published the entire text of the response on his website. (Read it here.) His conclusion?
“Every government rightly wants to secure the territorial integrity of its airspace and ensure that all objects and phenomena in its airspace or in close proximity to its military assets are identified. This bold new initiative may be controversial, but it makes perfect sense in strategic terms, whatever the true nature of the phenomenon.”
“… whatever the true nature of the phenomenon.” In other words, they haven’t really told us anything yet that we didn’t already know. Will they tell us about anything whose “true nature” is other worldly or not made on this earth … as promised in The New York Times? Oh, yeah, that was Eric Davis, not the Pentagon. The blog “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena – scientific research” does a nice job of analyzing the statement from Sue Gough, pointing out its nebulousness. However, one word that is singled out is “detect.”
“However, the DOD statement specifically says “detect.” Does this imply that the Task Force, themselves will be out there actively seeking to observe the objects intruding on U.S. training ranges and designated airspace. This is very different from collecting observations from other people.”
This implies a proactive operation, rather than just showing up to collect the smoldering pieces. Will UFO watchers around Area 51 be forced to share their space with members of the Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force?
Everything is speculation until the first time the task force reports ”at least some of its findings to the public every six months.”

Het voornaamste doel: achterhalen of vijandige landen geen gebruik maken van geavanceerde spitstechnologie om de Verenigde Staten te bedreigen. De Republikeinse senator Marco Rubio maakte zich deze maand nog zorgen over een onbekend toestel dat over een Amerikaanse legerbasis vloog. “Is China of Rusland met iets nieuws op de proppen gekomen? Of bestaat er een eerder saaie verklaring voor? We moeten daar een antwoord op vinden.”
RVOp een van de video's is een langwerpig object te zien dat zich erg snel verplaatst. Enkele seconden nadat het werd opgemerkt, verdwijnt het uit het zicht na een plotse versnelling. In een andere video duikt een object boven de wolken op.
“Open en duidelijke communicatie”
Luis Elizondo stond tien jaar lang aan het hoofd van het onderzoeksproject rond ufo’s. Hij bevestigt dat er voortaan niet meer in het geheim hoeft gewerkt te worden. “Er zal open en duidelijk gecommuniceerd worden”, klinkt het. Met al zijn expertise is hij er trouwens van overtuigd dat “we niet alleen zijn in het heelal”.
Harry Reid, een ex-senator uit Nevada die het financiële plaatje rond het ufo-programma regelde, is dezelfde mening toegedaan. “Ik geloof stellig dat objecten van onbekende origine al op aarde neergestort zijn. De regering heeft zulke toestellen in haar bezit, dan kan er maar beter onderzoek naar gebeuren. Het is van groot belang dat zulke resultaten gedeeld worden met het grote publiek.”
Drie maanden geleden gaf het Pentagon zelf al drie video’s vrij waarbij Amerikaanse piloten tijdens trainingsvluchten in contact kwamen met ‘ongeïdentificeerde vliegende objecten’. Ze bewegen zo flitsend door de lucht dat de infraroodcamera’s ze maar heel kort konden oppikken.
“Kijk naar dat ding”
Het commentaar van de piloten spreekt tot de verbeelding. “My god. Het gaat tegen de wind. Een westenwind van 120 knopen. Kijk naar dat ding! Het is aan het draaien!”, zegt een stem. In de andere video juicht een piloot. “Yes, ik heb het. Kijk hoe het vliegt! Wow.”
David Fravor maakte de beelden van de derde video (zonder geluid) in 2004. Drie jaar geleden verklaarde de intussen gepensioneerde marinepiloot dat het object “bewoog op manieren die hij niet kon uitleggen”.
“Toen ik het naderde, schoot het razendsnel weg naar het zuiden. En het verdween in minder dan twee seconden”, zei hij aan CNN. “Het gebeurde extreem abrupt, als een pingpongbal die van de muur afketst. Alsof het iets raakte en in de andere richting werd gekatapulteerd.”
Astrofyiscus Eric W. Davis werkte sinds 2007 als consultant voor het ufo-programma. Ook hij gelooft in het buitenaardse. “In sommige gevallen zijn we er niet in geslaagd om de origine van het materiaal te achterhalen. We konden niet anders dan besluiten dat die objecten niet door de mens gemaakt waren.”

While watching the ISS I noticed that a small glowing light was noticeable in the distance over the two radar dishes. But unsure of how useful the UFO was since its hard to see, I assumed that maybe it wasn't worth reporting...but then as I went further into the footage, I noticed that NASA went to blue screen, this often happens when they change cameras and they did. They went to a new camera and you can clearly see the space station put the UFO in the center of the screen and then enlarge it to maximum size. Daylight sighting of angular white “stacked” or dumbbell shaped craft near Red Rock Canyon State Park. Slow steady movement, no sound. My boyfriend and I were driving north on CA HWY 14 (395) outside of Red Rock Canyon State Park near Hart’s Place and Armistead when we spotted an object hovering roughly 500 ft above the open desert valley to our right. We pulled off the side of the highway to view the white object which seemed to be maybe 800-1000ft from us and made no sound. The craft was vertical, and almost looked like two separate objects stacked and connected like a Tinkertoy. The top portion of the craft was smaller than the bottom, which ruled out weather balloon for me. Both sections of the craft appeared to be angular and almost looked to be rotating separately, and it reflected in the sun. It slowly moved W towards us (getting only slightly closer) then moved NE up the valley and gained altitude slowly until it was no longer visible. Our sighting ended when we were no longer able to see the object high up in the sky. I know there are multiple military bases in the area (China Lake, Edwards AFB) and I have witnessed jets flying through the valleys multiple other times, but the only military equipment I could compare this to was a V-BAT UAV, and even that has its differences. I watch the skies often and keep up with UFO news frequently, but have yet to find anything similar to what I saw. I did my best to take video, but I also have zoomed still frames and drawings that were done minutes after the sighting. On a bright, sunny morning in the summer of 1973, Ron and Paula Watson, two farmers in Springfield, Missouri, witnessed something that changed their lives forever.
It was an alien abduction, they say. But not of a human – of cattle.
They said they saw a 'green, cone-shaped craft' – next to which two 'silver little beings' were standing over a large black cow.
'I told Ron, 'My god, they got a cow! What are they doing to it?' Paula said. 'It had its eyes open and its tongue was like, hanging out a little bit. But it just laid there and it didn't move.'
She described in detail how she saw the aliens running their hands over the cow and then inspecting their long fingers before they 'floated' it into their large ship in the distance.
Their neighbors never believed their story, though one did admit to having one black cow left unaccounted for. The Watsons' story sounds like something out of an early science-fiction film – but it became one of many stories of alien and UFO sightings used to explain the thousands of cow mutilations reported across the United States in the 1970s.

Within the depths of the FBI's database of unsolved mysteries lies the graphic tale of these cattle murders, which outraged and petrified farmers for decades, and is still continuing today.
Speculation surrounding who – or what – might be responsible for the killing and mutilation of thousands of cows has ranged from satanic worshipers, government agents, and even aliens.
The most curious aspect is not that the cattle have died, but the way in which they did. Since the early 1970s farmers have discovered their treasured (and expensive) animals dead with various organs excised – including eyes, noses, tongues, hearts, livers, anuses, and genitalia removed with laser precision.
Though many theories have been offered it's a phenomenon that no one – not even the FBI – have ever been able to solve.
In 1974, newspapers started to catch wind of these bizarre mutilations, which first took place primarily in extremely rural farmlands in the Midwest. Instances were reported across the nation but were mostly scattered among South Dakota, Colorado, Kansas, and Nevada.
The news reports make up the bulk of the FBI's 32 page report on the subject, which is prefaced by a brief explanation that their investigation was hindered by a lack of jurisdiction in most cases.
The FBI told DailyMail.com that this was due to the fact that at the time there was no federal law declaring animal mutilation a federal crime, which didn't allow the department to continue investigating.
Many residents reported seeing helicopters circling the areas where cattle later turned up dead and sliced up with seemingly surgical accuracy. This prompted concerns that the mutilations, nicknamed 'mutes' by those familiar with the subject, were being propagated and covered up by the government.

Linda Moulton Howe is a former Miss Idaho turned investigative journalist and regional Emmy-winning filmmaker who has been a primary proponent of the 'alien argument'
This was around the same time of the height of alien paranoia in the United States – when UFOs, or balls or discs of floating light, were being spotted in similarly rural areas, often preceding or following the cow mutilations.
Many who have dedicated their lives to the subject believe, in fact, that aliens are responsible for the mutilations and that the government has been attempting to cover up their crimes (and existence) for years.
One such person is Linda Moulton Howe, the regional Emmy-winning filmmaker who the Watsons shared their story with for her documentary Earth Mysteries: Alien Life Forms. She has been one of the most steadfast supporters of the alien argument.
Her research conjures the images of what we picture as the stereotypical alien abduction – flying saucers beaming animals up into space with light.
At least two people even reported being abducted by aliens at that time – including one woman named Judy Doraty and her daughter Cindy.
In a 1990 symposium proceeding Howe wrote: '…I found in so many eyewitness accounts of orange glowing objects the size of football fields hovering above pasturelands where mutilated animals were later found. Or beams of light observed shining down from 'silent helicopters' that lighted pastures 'brighter than daylight' and the next day mutilated animals were found. And eyewitness reports of strange craft and/or non-human creatures involved with animals.
'There was Judy Doraty who in 1973 watched a brown and white calf rise in a pale beam of yellow light. Inside the craft, she saw tissue cut from the eye, tongue and testicles by two small grey-skinned creatures. They had four fingers, instead of five, and those long, thin fingers tapered into dark nails. Their eyes had vertical pupils like a cat or a crocodile's.

In a rare winter mutilation, this calf was found in Hooper, Nebraska in 1975 with its jaw completely cut out all the way up to its right eye socket. Eyewitnesses often reported seeing beaming lights or suspicious helicopters near where mutilated cows were later found
US Senator Floyd Haskell from Colorado pleaded with the FBI to become involved with the mutilations in August 1975 after receiving more than 130 cases in the state alone, and farmers had taken to arming themselves out of fear
Supernatural explanations were the only ones that made any sense at the time – given that the technology of the era was not advanced enough to have performed what appeared to be the use of localized lasers.
The areas surrounding the excisions, often around the anus of the murdered animals, had a blackened and burned appearance to them – suggesting the use of a high-powered laser. Other researchers, however, proposed different conclusions.

This Hooper, Nebraska calf also had its anus cut in a 10-inch wide diameter and 18-inch deep. O'Brien told DailyMail.com that he didn't believe aliens were responsible - because 'who would fly thousands of light years to collect cow butts?'
He is more skeptical of the alien explanation – saying that Howe's research doesn't incorporate many of the scientific findings that have been made.
He told the DailyMail.com that when a cow decomposes, the vegetable matter contained in one of its four stomachs makes the animal bloat. As the moisture leaves the body it then starts to deflate – causing the exposed edges of the animal to stay hard and darkened.
'To someone who doesn't know what they're looking at – it looks like a burn,' he said.
O'Brien feels that the alien argument is one used to sensationalize the topic and are only looking at a small portion of the total data.
He can't deny, however, how disturbing the number of 'high strange' cases are that he's seen – the ones that involve otherworldly circumstances.
On one occasion which O'Brien calls his 'strangest case' – he was called to the scene of a mutilated calf in Del Norte, Colorado.
'It was really freaky, it wouldn't rot,' he said. 'It was found in a complete pristine, five inch snow field without one drop of blood on the snow. All the blood had been taken from the animal. The heart and liver had been expertly excised and left in the body cavity.
'The chief medical veterinary pathologist said "it wasn't an animal that did this",' he continued.
In O'Brien's book, Stalking the Heard, he writes that the month-old calf was also missing its spine from the hips to the skull and the brain was gone. It's right front leg was also gone, and the vast majority of its ribs, both eyes, ears, intestines, reproductive tract, and lungs had been removed. Its rectum was also mutilated.
Two witnesses also reportedly saw a large beam of light near the house the previous evening before the calf was found.
O'Brien's 'strangest case' was this month-old calf that was missing its spine from the hips to the skull and the brain was gone. It's right front leg was also gone, and the vast majority of its ribs, both eyes, ears, intestines, reproductive tract, and lungs had been removed. He hits on another popular argument for the cattle deaths – though arguably the least plausible explanation. Many believe that the excisions were being done simply by other animals – scavengers such as vultures or coyotes.
O'Brien is quick to discredit this based off of his own experience.
'The first thing I look for is cut hair follicles,' he said. 'When birds or coyotes rip they rip between the lines of hair they don't cut the hair. If I find a 2-3 inch section of cut hair follicles I know that someone or something with a sharp implement did that. It wasn't done by birds or scavengers.'
These 'high strange' cases are less likely to be reported by ranchers, according to O'Brien.
'The freakier the case the less likely the rancher is to report it – they're so freaked out they won't even tell their family or neighbors. He doesn't want people in the community to think he's been singled out and victimized by some supernatural thing. That's why they're very reluctant to come forward.
'It's only when they see the hundreds and hundreds of helicopters being reported around these sites – mostly military helicopters – it's only when they see that that they feel like they've been targeted or victimized by their government and that pisses them off.'
Though the occurrences in the United States have considerably slowed down since they were at their height in the early 1970s, they certainly haven't stopped. O'Brien notes that they have seen a consistently high number of cases in South America, especially Brazil and Argentina.
O'Brien says that throughout his decades of studying mutilations, he's noticed that there's been a shift to South America, where he believes they've had more than 4,000 cases since 2002. A news report included in an FBI briefing stated that more than 1500 cattle in 22 states were killed and mutilated from 1973 to 1976 in the United States
He claims that since 2002, there have been more than 4,000 cases of cattle mutilation in South America - and are still reporting anywhere from three to a dozen cases a week.
Back in the United States, just before the New Year in 2016, and again a few days afterwards, two cows were mutilated in nearby rural towns in Kansas.
In McPherson County, Carla and John Shearer discovered one of their pregnant cows dead with one eye removed and both her top and bottom eyelids and eyelashes excised.
'We lose animals, but not like this,' Shearer told the Kansas Agland. The couple believes whoever killed their $4,000 cow used a tranquilizer or stun gun to immobilize it before killing it.
'She died in motion – she was walking and she just went straight down,' Shearer added.

The bull found in nearby Harvey County was found dead with its genitals removed – also cut with surgical precision.
It is O'Brien's opinion that the mass mutilations – of which there were thousands reported in the 1970s alone – are a part of a secretive government effort to research animal plagues such as mad cow or prion disease.
'We've seen this many, many times throughout history – where one case will happen and then within a week there will be a dozen. I think they're looking for something – that's the best explanation I can give. And I think they're looking for something within the food chain.
'Bovine spongiform encephalopathy is the most horrendous affliction that you could possibly imagine. It's 100% fatal – it produces large holes in the brain tissue and creates holes like Swiss cheese in the neuron system and the brain synapses start to misfire. You forget to breathe and your autonomic system starts to break down.
'That I think is the basic underpinnings of it – we're dealing with a group that is interested in keeping an eye on the food chain. The beef industry is the largest, most powerful industry that you never hear about. I think we're dealing with something that's being protected by some quasi-governmental group,' he said.
Though tempting to indulge in the possibility of space creatures invading the planet to study our animals, O'Brien finds this explanation a bit too impractical.
'It sounds like bad science fiction,' he said. 'Who would fly hundreds of light years to come and gather cow butts?'

With everything else that has been happening in this ‘Revelation’ year of 2020, it would not only be not surprising for a global sighting of a UFO, but I think it’s to be expected. FROM THE DAILY MAIL UK: The Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force has been tucked away inside the Office of Naval Intelligence, and is now being called on to reveal at least some of its findings to the public every six months, according to the New York Times.
Information on mysterious encounters with unidentified aerial objects has formerly only been discussed in classified briefings, and Pentagon officials are still not at liberty to discuss the program, which deals with classified matters. The new calls for greater transparency come as officials who previously worked with the unit reveal some of the objects discovered in their investigations were items humans ‘couldn’t make ourselves’ and ‘vehicles not made on this earth’.
UFOS AND OTHER UNIDENTIFIED FLYING OBJECTS
Last month, US senators demanded to see the Pentagon’s UFO files as they pushed for influence over the secretive Navy program. The Senate Intelligence Committee wanted defense chiefs to publish a report on the Pentagon’s UFO program and any phenomena it observes.
The committee says it ‘supports the efforts of the Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force’ – appearing to confirm that such a program still existed.
In 2017, the Pentagon acknowledged funding a secret multi-million dollar program named the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program to investigate UFO sightings, although defense chiefs claimed it had ended in 2012.
‘It was determined that there were other, higher priority issues that merited funding and it was in the best interest of the DoD to make a change,’ a spokeswoman said at the time. But the Pentagon had been less clear about whether the UFO program continued to hover somewhere in the vast universe of the US defense establishment.
‘The DoD takes seriously all threats and potential threats to our people, our assets, and our mission and takes action whenever credible information is developed,’ the spokeswoman said.
People who worked with the UFO program through to 2017 and beyond have now confirmed to the New York Times that it continued to exist, but under a different name and a different office.
The program first began in 2007 under the the Defense Intelligence Agency but has now moved to the Office of Naval Intelligence, where last month the Senate Intelligence Committee revealed it to be called the Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force.
‘It no longer has to hide in the shadows,’ Luis Elizondo, a former military intelligence official and the program’s previous director, told the New York Times.
In April this year, the Pentagon released three videos taken by US Navy pilots showing mid-air encounters with unexplained objects.
The grainy black and white footage had previously been leaked and the Navy had acknowledged they were genuine videos. One of the videos was shot in November 2004 and the other two in January 2015.
In one, a weapons sensor operator appears to lose lock on a rapidly moving object which seconds later suddenly accelerates away to the left and out of view. Retired US Navy pilot David Fravor, who saw one of the ‘UFOs’ in 2004, said the object he saw had been moving erratically.
‘As I got close to it … it rapidly accelerated to the south, and disappeared in less than two seconds,’ Fravor told CNN in 2017. ‘This was extremely abrupt, like a ping pong ball, bouncing off a wall. It would hit and go the other way.’
Former Nevada senator Harry Reid, whose state hosts the top secret Area 51 Air Force facility, welcomed release of the videos.
‘I’m glad the Pentagon is finally releasing this footage, but it only scratches the surface of research and materials available,’ he tweeted. ‘The U.S. needs to take a serious, scientific look at this and any potential national security implications. He said that he was at a ranch in Utah state and the UFO was so close to him that had he a tennis ball, he could have hit the craft with the ball. Now that is close. Sadly the person conducting the interview took it less serous and joked instead of diving deeper into what Robbie actually saw so we have little details about it. Its also interesting that he took tennis...something he loved and makes him relax and used an analogy of "could hit the UFO with a tennis ball." Its clear that Robbie Williams has a very positive feeling and experience tied to seeing the UFO up close. An experience that left him a changed man forever. Its not as if it was a coincidence that a UFO hovered over him 100-150 feet up. It was actually on purpose. Alien often deliberately travel through space and time...yes time travel just to see someone who...in the past...changed life as we know it in some way. They did that with John Lennon, they did that with US president Reagan and Carter and so much more. I wonder...which song or movie inspired the aliens to seek him out? Meet the Ningen: Giant humanoids of the Antarctic continent
It is said that MASSIVE, white-colored creatures—which grow to up to 30 meters in length, with humanoid-like facial features—inhabit the cold waters near Antarctica. No one knows for sure what they are, but numerous vessels claim to have witnessed the massive humanoid-beings rise from the depths of the ocean.
For the past couple of decades, rumors have circulated around the world about the existence of gigantic humanoids, strange forms of life that inhabit the icy waters of Antarctica.
In this article, we take a look at the enigma that surrounds this alleged giant, pale humanoids.
According to witnesses, there are creatures which are referred to as Ningen (人間, ‘human’ in Japanese) who have a human-like shape, often with legs, arms, and even five-fingered hands.
Sometimes they are described with fins or a large tail like that of mermaids. The only visible facial features are the creature’s eyes and mouth—various descriptions seem to vary among all who claim to have ‘encountered the mysterious beings.’
What are the mysterious creatures referred to as Ningen?
However, while there are many descriptions that try to depict the Ningen as clearly as possible, most witnesses seem to agree on the size of the Ningen.
According to reports, these supermassive white-colored humanoid beings grow up to 30 meters.
So, big deal… Maybe it’s a giant fish?
Well, according to several reports—and countless videos which have been posted online—these mystery beings are unlike anything we’ve encountered before.
Reports from one sighting explains how crew members of a vessel traveling near Antarctica observed what was initially thought to be a submarine in the distance. However, when they approached the unidentified submerged object, it was clear by the irregular shape of the object that it was not a submarine, but a living creature. When the vessel approached the creature, it quickly disappeared into the depths near the Antarctic continent.
However, Ningen have also been spotted in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, giving rise to theories which suggest they are mostly nocturnal creatures and survive in cold arctic waters. Most of the alleged sightings occurred at night, making the mystery beings extremely difficult to document or capture on video.
So what on Earth are these creatures?
For the most part, the existence of the Ningen is considered a massive modern “urban legend”. Much of the information about the Ningen goes back to a series of posts in the online community “2channel”, where an individual described seeing the giant humanoid creature, while serving on a “government whale research vessel,” when one of the alleged beings rose up to the surface and approached the vessel from the depths.
Soon the popular topic attracted the attention of many readers from outside these forums and the Ningen became popular among paranormal researchers.
There are several theories including an albino whale, an unknown species of giant aquatic non-human ape, it could also be a new species of giant manta ray, an aquatic sloth, some even argue how it could be an unknown alien species, and well… a Demon or Monster. Take your pick?
Hybrid Creature With Human-like Head Found Dead in Antarctica
Adead creature with a human-like head has been discovered on a mountain ridge in Antarctica.
Searching for anomalies using Google Earth, Fredrick found the weird creature after zooming in to a height of 30 meters above the ground surface.
Where the creature came from and how it ended up in Antarctica is unknown but it looks like it is partly bestial and partly human in form.
There are many stories of mythological beings like a bovine creature with the head of a human and the body of a goat or a penghou creature with the face of a man and the body of the dog.
Is it possible that the stories about mythological beings are true and this dead hybrid being is proof that such creatures exist?

Daylight sighting of angular white “stacked” or dumbbell shaped craft near Red Rock Canyon State Park. Slow steady movement, no sound. My boyfriend and I were driving north on CA HWY 14 (395) outside of Red Rock Canyon State Park near Hart’s Place and Armistead when we spotted an object hovering roughly 500 ft above the open desert valley to our right. We pulled off the side of the highway to view the white object which seemed to be maybe 800-1000ft from us and made no sound. The craft was vertical, and almost looked like two separate objects stacked and connected like a Tinkertoy. The top portion of the craft was smaller than the bottom, which ruled out weather balloon for me. Both sections of the craft appeared to be angular and almost looked to be rotating separately, and it reflected in the sun. It slowly moved W towards us (getting only slightly closer) then moved NE up the valley and gained altitude slowly until it was no longer visible. Our sighting ended when we were no longer able to see the object high up in the sky. I know there are multiple military bases in the area (China Lake, Edwards AFB) and I have witnessed jets flying through the valleys multiple other times, but the only military equipment I could compare this to was a V-BAT UAV, and even that has its differences. I watch the skies often and keep up with UFO news frequently, but have yet to find anything similar to what I saw. I did my best to take video, but I also have zoomed still frames and drawings that were done minutes after the sighting. A huge flash of ultraviolet light has been spotted deep in the universe, and could potentially help illuminate some of the universe's deepest mysteries.
The discovery could help shed light on how stars come to explode, and how the universe forms the heavy metals that surround us, as well as enigmatic dark energy, scientists say.
The blast was sent through space following a white dwarf explosion – and astronomers have only ever been able to see such an event once before.
Researchers will now be able to keep watching the blast until, in a year, they will be able to see "all the way into the centre of the explosion".
As they do, they hope to be able to see how this white dwarf, and all other remnants of dead stars, are able to explode with such powerful force.
A white dwarf is the next stage of a star after it has exhausted its nuclear fuel, whereby its outer material collapses leaving only the core.
Despite being one of the most common explosions in the universe, in this instance the white dwarf exhibited unexpected behaviour.
The rare flash of ultraviolet light suggests that something inside or nearby the white dwarf was expelling a large amount of heat. But that surprised astronomers since white dwarf stars usually cool as they age.
“The simplest way to create UV light is to have something that's very, very hot,” Adam Miller, an astrophysicist from Northwestern University who led the research, said in a statement.
“We need something that is much hotter than our sun — a factor of three or four times hotter. Most supernovae are not that hot, so you don't get the very intense UV radiation.
"Something unusual happened with this supernova to create a very hot phenomenon.”
Researchers spotted the supernova in December 2019, one day after the explosion first became visible from a nearby galaxy 140 million light-years from Earth.
Within hours, astrophysicists at Nasa's Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory were studying the phenomenon using ultraviolet and X-ray wavelengths.
“As time passes, the exploded material moves farther away from the source”, Miller says. “As that material thins, we can see deeper and deeper. After a year, the material will be so thin that we will see all the way into the centre of the explosion.”
The researchers have four possible explanations for the flash of ultraviolet light that accompanied the explosion:
A white dwarf consumed its companion star and became so large and unstable that it exploded, and the colliding material caused the flash of ultraviolet light.
Extremely hot radioactive material in the white dwarf's core mixed with its outer layers, causing the outer shell to reach higher temperatures than usual;
An outer layer of helium ignited carbon within the white dwarf, causing an extremely hot double explosion and the flash of light.
Two white dwarfs merged, triggering an explosion, and the colliding material emitted ultraviolet radiation.
The reason this finding is so vital is because it could reveal the secrets of how planets form.
Most iron in the universe is created by supernovae, and so understanding this event could be key to understanding the formation of our own planet, which has a rich iron core.
It could also be key to understanding dark energy, the effects of which can be measured using supernovae. Astronomers are able to use such explosions as "standard candles", or measuring sticks that allow them to understand exactly how far a certain phenomenon is from Earth, and was used to first discover dark energy.
Dark energy is the name given to the force that is thought to have caused the rate of our expanding universe to increase over time, rather than slowing down. This energy makes up approximately 70 percent of all the energy in the universe, but still remains largely mysterious.
"We don't have a direct way to measure the distance to other galaxies," Miller explained. "Most galaxies are actually moving away from us. If there is a type Ia supernova in a distant galaxy, we can use it to measure a combination of distance and velocity that allows us to determine the acceleration of the universe.
"Dark energy remains a mystery. But these supernovae are the best way to probe dark energy and understand what it is."
”At the moment, when measuring distances, we treat all of these explosions as the same, yet we have good reason to believe that there are multiple explosion mechanisms. If we can determine the exact explosion mechanism, we think we can better separate the supernovae and make more precise distance measurements."
No country has ever successfully sent a microphone to Mars. As a result, we’ve never heard the eerie sounds of the surface of Red Planet.
“Even if only a few minutes of Martian sounds are recorded from this first experiment, the public interest will be high and the opportunity for scientific exploration real,” famed astronomer Carl Sagan wrote in a 1996 letter to NASA, as quoted by the Planetary Society, a nonprofit space exploration advocacy group.
But with NASA’s Perseverance mission launching in just a single week — if the weather plays along — that all may change. The agency’s next-gen Mars rover is outfitted with not just one but two microphones.
After the craft’s six month journey through the solar system, the two microphones attached to NASA’s Perseverance rover could finally offer us a tantalizing first: a chance to listen to what Mars actually sounds like.
One microphone, on Perseverance’s Entry, Descent and Landing (EDL) system, was designed to make sure the rover makes it down to Mars unharmed. Thanks to accompanying video, we could soon, for the first time ever, get to watch — and listen to — a Mars landing.
The second is part of the rover’s SuperCam instrument, which builds on Curiosity’s ChemCam, a laser beam that heats and vaporizes rocks to determine what chemicals they’re made of.
The microphones could also tell us about the rover’s health.
“Hearing how the mast swivels, the wheels turn, or hearing how other instruments sound can also be an important engineering diagnostic tool,” said Greg Delory, the CEO and co-founder of space hardware company Heliospace and an advisor to the SuperCam team, in the statement.
Previous attempts at recording the sounds of Mars with a microphone quickly turned into an uphill battle with plenty of setbacks.
The Planetary Society, co-founded by Sagan in 1980, jumped into action in the mid-1990s to finally bring a microphone to Mars. Initially, the team was hoping to attach one to NASA’s Mars Polar Lander mission, set to launch in 1990.
They got to work and after raising $100,000, they came up with the Mars Microphone, the first crowdfunded scientific instrument to fly to another planet, according to the Society.
“The original Mars microphone we built was a smart little box, about 5 centimeters on each side, weighing 50 grams,” Delory said. “The microphone was built for extreme environments, and we tested it enough to know how robust it was.”
Unfortunately, a NASA committee dismissed the idea. A second chance to have it attached to France’s Netlander mission in 2007 cropped up, but the mission was canceled in 2004.
Several years later, a different microphone made its way all the way to Mars mounted to NASA’s Phoenix lander in 2008. In yet another unfortunate turn of events, the microphone had to be deactivated prior to the launch due to a technical glitch.
The closest the Earth has come to hearing the sounds of Mars was in December 2018, when NASA used InSight’s seismometer and air pressure sensor to capture something approximating sound. However, recordings had to be pitched and sped up to hear.
Let’s hope Perseverance makes it to Mars in one piece. Only then will be able to get to hear the sounds of an alien planet.
Extraordinary views of the largest moon in the solar system, Ganymede, were captured by NASA’s Juno Jupiter probe. This data provides the first infrared mapping of the massive moon’s northern frontier and could help to understand the evolution of the Jovian moons.

The moon has long attracted astronomers since Galileo discovered it in 1610. While he didn’t have many of the tools needed to examine it at his disposal, now NASA does. The Juno Jupiter probe captured infrared imagery, using the Jovian Infrared Auroral Mapper (JIRAM) instrument.
While JIRAM was initially designed to capture the infrared light emerging from deep inside Jupiter, thus probing its ‘weather layer’, it can also be used to study the moons. This includes Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto, collectively known as the Galilean moons for their discoverer.
“The JIRAM data shows the ice at and surrounding Ganymede’s north pole has been modified by the precipitation of plasma,” said Alessandro Mura, a Juno co-investigator, in a press release. “It is a phenomenon that we have been able to learn about for the first time with Juno because we are able to see the north pole in its entirety.”
Ganymede, which is larger than Mercury and Pluto, consists mainly of water ice and is the only moon in the solar system with its own magnetic field. On Earth, the magnetic field allows plasma to enter the atmosphere and create auroras. But Ganymede has no atmosphere so its surface receives plasma from Jupiter’s magnetosphere. The plasma stops the ice in Ganymede’s poles from turning into the structures we see on Earth.
On Earth, water forms a crystalline structure after it freezes, with layers upon layers of water molecules forming a lattice of hexagonal rings. But this doesn’t happen on Ganymede, where the ice has an amorphous form.
Analyzing and understanding these structures will help to understand the formation of Jupiter’s moons and the forces that shaped them. The European Space Agency also plans to explore the moon with the spacecraft JUICE (Jupiter Icy Mons Explore) which will be launched in 2022.

The European spacecraft will reach Jupiter by 2029 and should start performing close-up science at Ganymede around 2032. NASA’s plans are also set to continue, exploring another Jupiter moon around the same time with the assistance of Europa Clipper.
-The Juno spacecraft entered the orbit of Jupiter 2016 with the main goal of revealing the story of Jupiter’s formation and evolution. Juno will use diverse technologies on a spinning spacecraft placed in an elliptical polar orbit to analyze Jupiter’s gravity and magnetic fields, atmospheric dynamics and composition, as well as its evolution.
Tianwen-1 is China's first fully homegrown Mars mission.
China's first fully homegrown Mars mission is on its way to the Red Planet.
The Tianwen-1 mission launched atop a Long March 5 rocket from Hainan Island's Wenchang Satellite Launch Center this morning (July 23) at 12:41 a.m. EDT (0441 GMT).
Tianwen-1 consists of an orbiter and a lander/rover duo, a combination of craft that had never before launched together toward the Red Planet. The ambition of Tianwen-1 is especially striking given that it's China's first stab at a full-on Mars mission. (The nation did launch a Red Planet orbiter called Yinghuo-1 in November 2011, but the spacecraft flew piggyback with Russia's Phobos-Grunt mission. And that launch failed, leaving the probes trapped in Earth orbit.)
"Tianwen-1 is going to orbit, land and release a rover all on the very first try, and coordinate observations with an orbiter," team members wrote in a recent Nature Astronomy paper outlining the mission's main objectives. "No planetary missions have ever been implemented in this way. If successful, it would signify a major technical breakthrough."

Taking the measure of Mars
If all goes according to plan, Tianwen-1 will arrive at the Red Planet in February 2021. The lander/rover pair will touch down on the Martian surface two to three months later somewhere within Utopia Planitia, a large plain in the planet's Northern Hemisphere that also welcomed NASA's Viking 2 lander in 1976.
The solar-powered rover will then spend about 90 Martian days, or sols, studying its surroundings in detail. (One sol is roughly 40 minutes longer than an Earth day.) It will do so with six different science instruments, which the Nature Astronomy paper identified as the Multispectral Camera, Terrain Camera, Mars-Rover Subsurface Exploration Radar, Mars Surface Composition Detector, Mars Magnetic Field Detector and Mars Meteorology Monitor.
The orbiter will eventually settle into a polar elliptical orbit that takes it as close to the Martian surface as 165 miles (265 kilometers) and as far away as 7,456 miles (12,000 km). The spacecraft will relay information home from the rover and collect science data of its own using seven science instruments: two cameras, the Mars-Orbiting Subsurface Exploration Radar, Mars Mineralogy Spectrometer, Mars Magnetometer, Mars Ion and Neutral Particle Analyzer and Mars Energetic Particle Analyzer.
The lander apparently will not do any substantive science work, serving as a delivery system for the rover. That wheeled explorer, by the way, tips the scales at about 530 lbs. (240 kilograms), making it twice as heavy as China's line of moon-exploring Yutu rovers.
Overall, Tianwen-1 aims to take Mars' measure in a variety of ways.
"Specifically, the scientific objectives of Tianwen-1 include: (1) to map the morphology and geological structure, (2) to investigate the surface soil characteristics and water-ice distribution, (3) to analyze the surface material composition, (4) to measure the ionosphere and the characteristics of the Martian climate and environment at the surface, and (5) to perceive the physical fields (electromagnetic, gravitational) and internal structure of Mars," mission team members wrote in the Nature Astronomy paper.
The paper also explained the mission's name: Tianwen means "questions to heaven," and it was taken from the title of a poem by Qu Yuan, who lived from about 340 to 278 BCE.

Summer of Mars
Tianwen-1 was the second Mars mission to get off the ground in the last four days.
The United Arab Emirates' Hope orbiter launched on Sunday (July 19) to study the Martian atmosphere and climate, streaking into space from Japan atop an H-2A rocket. Like Tianwen-1, Hope (also known as the Emirates Mars Mission) is historic: It's the first interplanetary mission ever developed by an Arab state.
And the summer of Mars isn't over yet. NASA's next Mars rover, the 2,300-lb. (1,040 kg) Perseverance, is scheduled to lift off on July 30.
This clumping of launches is dictated by orbital dynamics; Earth and Mars line up properly for interplanetary missions for just a few weeks once every 26 months. (The European-Russian ExoMars rover was supposed to join the launch party this summer, but it suffered technical issues and now must wait until 2022.)
Perseverance, the centerpiece of the $2.7 billion Mars 2020 mission, will hunt for signs of ancient life inside the 28-mile-wide (45 km) Jezero Crater, which harbored a lake and a river delta billions of years ago. Perseverance will do other work as well, including collecting and caching samples for future return to Earth. Mars 2020 will also demonstrate new technologies, such as the first helicopter to ply alien skies and a device designed to generate oxygen from the carbon dioxide-dominated Martian atmosphere.
All three of these missions are scheduled to arrive at the Red Planet in February 2021. So when the summer of Mars comes to an end, we'll still have a Red Planet winter to look forward to.

NASA's Perseverance Mars rover is ready to roll on the surface of the Red Planet now that its nuclear power source has been installed.
That update came via Tory Bruno, head of United Launch Alliance, which is responsible for launching Perseverance on its way next Thursday(July 30). The installation is a vital step toward liftoff for the rover, which will rely on the power system, called a Multi-Mission Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generator (MMRTG), to keep its instruments running and to stay warm during the cold Martian nights and winters.
"The #MarsPerseverance MMRTG is installed and doing well," Bruno wrote on Twitter on Wednesday (July 22). "This Red Planet dune buggy is fueled and ready to go!"
The MMRTG is designed to power the rover for up to 14 years, far beyond the $2.7 billion spacecraft's initial mission lifetime of nearly two Earth years, or one Martian year. It is based heavily on the system that powers NASA's Curiosity rover, which launched in 2011 and has been roving the Red Planet since August 2012.
When such a system launches, it can produce about 110 watts of power, according to NASA and the Department of Energy (DOE). The MMRTG contains radioactive plutonium, which naturally decays into more stable atoms. As it does so, it releases heat, which the MMRTG converts into electricity. Excess heat keeps a spacecraft's instruments warm enough to keep working smoothly.

Although an MMRTG runs on nuclear power, it isn't the same form of plutonium as what is used in bombs and cannot explode, according to NASA and the DOE.
For Mars missions, MMRTGs offer a key benefit: Unlike solar panels, they aren't affected by local weather, which means a spacecraft that carries one isn't vulnerable to dust storms, as NASA's Opportunity rover was.

The Pentagon’s secretive UFO unit is going to make some of its findings public, The New York Times reported.
And one consultant to the agency has briefed Defense Department officials of some highly unusual discoveries ― including items retrieved from “off-world vehicles not made on this Earth,” the newspaper said.
The Pentagon has claimed it disbanded its UFO office, but it actually simply changed names and moved. A Senate committee report suggests it will be expected to make some information public every six months.
The main goal isn’t alien spaceships, but rather something much closer to home: to see if confounding sightings ― including some by the military ― are actually advanced technology from rival nations.
The Times report also hints at possible artifacts from UFO crashes, citing former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.).
“After looking into this, I came to the conclusion that there were reports — some were substantive, some not so substantive — that there were actual materials that the government and the private sector had in their possession,” Reid told the newspaper.
Astrophysicist Eric W. Davis, who has been a subcontractor and consultant for the Pentagon, told the Times he briefed the Defense Department in March about the “off-world vehicles not made on this Earth.” He said he has examined some of the materials and concluded “we couldn’t make it ourselves.”
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) also indicated that he was concerned that supposed UFOs could be advanced tech from foreign nations.
“We have things flying over our military bases and places where we’re conducting military exercises, and we don’t know what it is, and it isn’t ours,” Rubio, who is acting chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, told CBS4 in Miami last week.
He added: “I would say that, frankly, that if it’s something from outside this planet, that might actually be better than the fact that we’ve seen some technological leap on behalf of the Chinese or the Russians or some other adversary that allows them to conduct this sort of activity.”
Objects in these sightings “exhibit, potentially, technologies that you don’t have at your own disposal,” making them a national security risk, Rubio said.
The military’s encounters with possible UFOs have come under intense interest since several videos were leaked in 2017 showing encounters with fast-moving objects including one given the nickname “Tic Tac” because it looked like one of the candies.

The Navy told UFO researcher Christian Lambright in a Freedom of Information Act request that releasing more information “would cause exceptionally grave damage to the National Security of the United States.”
To The Stars Academy, a company co-founded by former Blink 182 frontman Tom DeLonge that has worked to reveal UFO information and helped expose the 2017 videos, celebrated the newest developments.

Earth’s magnetic field extends from the Earth’s interior out into space, surrounding our planet like an invisible force field , protecting life from harmful solar radiation by deflecting away charged particles from the sun. But this field is continuously changing. Indeed, our planet’s history includes numerous global magnetic reversals, where north and south magnetic poles swap places.
Deep inside the Earth, liquid iron is flowing and generating the Earth’s magnetic field, which protects our atmosphere and satellites against harmful radiation from the sun. This field changes over time, and also behaves differently in different parts of the world. The field can even change polarity completely, with the magnetic north and south poles switching places. This is called a reversal and last happened 780,000 years ago.

Between South America and southern Africa, there is an enigmatic magnetic region called the South Atlantic Anomaly, where the field is a lot weaker than we would expect. Weak and unstable fields are thought to precede magnetic reversals, so some have argued this feature may be evidence that we are facing one.
Now our new study, published June 12, 2020, in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, has uncovered how long the field in the South Atlantic has been acting up – and sheds light on whether it is something to worry about.
Weak magnetic fields make us more prone to magnetic storms that have the potential to knock out electronic infrastructure, including power grids. The magnetic field of the South Atlantic Anomaly is already so weak that it can adversely affect satellites and their technology when they fly past it. The strange region is thought to be related to a patch of magnetic field that is pointing a different direction to the rest at the top of the planet’s liquid outer core at a depth of 1,795 miles (2,889 km) within the Earth.

This “reverse flux patch” itself has grown over the last 250 years. But we don’t know whether it is simply a one-off product of the chaotic motions of the outer core fluid or rather the latest in a series of anomalies within this particular region over long time frames.
If it is a non-recurring feature, then its current location is not significant – it could happen anywhere, perhaps randomly. But if this is the case, the question of whether its increasing size and depth could mark the start of a new reversal remains.
If it is the latest in a string of features reoccurring over millions of years, however, then this would make a reversal less likely. But it would require a specific explanation for what was causing the magnetic field to act strangely in this particular place.
Volcanic rocks
To find out, we travelled to Saint Helena – an island in the middle of the South Atlantic Ocean. This island, where Napoleon was exiled to and eventually died in 1821, is made of volcanic rocks. These originate from two separate volcanoes and were erupted from between eight million and 11.5 million years ago.

When volcanic rocks cool down, small grains of iron-oxide in them get magnetized and therefore save the direction and strength of the Earth’s magnetic field at that time and place. We collected some of those rocks and brought them back to our lab in Liverpool, where we carried out experiments to find out what the magnetic field was like at the time of eruption.
Our results showed us that the field at Saint Helena had very different directions throughout the time of eruption, showing us that the field in this region was much less stable than in other places. It therefore challenges the idea that the abnormality has only been around for only a few centuries. Instead, the whole region has likely been unstable on a timescale of millions of years. This implies the current situation is not as rare as some scientists had assumed, making it less likely that it represents the start of a reversal.
A window into Earth’s interior
So what could explain the odd magnetic region? The liquid outer core that is generating it moves (by convection) at such high speeds that changes can occur on very short, human timescales. The outer core interacts with a layer called the mantle on top of it, which moves far slower. That means the mantle is unlikely to have changed very much in the last ten million years.

From seismic waves passing through the Earth, we have some insight into the structure of the mantle. Underneath Africa there is a large feature in the lowermost mantle where the waves move extra slow through the Earth – meaning there’s most likely an unusually warm region of the lowermost mantle. This possibly causes a different interaction with the outer core at that specific location, which could explain the strange behavior of the magnetic field in the South Atlantic.
Another aspect of the inside of the Earth is the inner core, which is a solid ball the size of Pluto beneath the outer core. This solid feature is slowly growing, but not at the same rate everywhere. There is a possibility that it is growing faster on one side, causing a flow inside the outer core that is reaching the outer boundary with the rocky mantle just under the Atlantic hemisphere. This may be causing irregular behavior of the magnetic field on the long timescales we found on Saint Helena.
Although there are still many questions about the exact cause of the irregular behavior in the South Atlantic, this study shows us that it has been around for millions of years and is most likely a result of geophysical interactions in the Earth’s mysterious interior.
Scientists in Australia have discovered a strange new phenomenon in deep space – “Odd Radio Circles” – that appear in radio telescope images as mysterious circles or rings.

Our universe is full of weird and wonderful things, and astronomers keep making new and increasingly bizarre discoveries. The latest discovery has them going in circles, literally. Using a radio telescope, astronomers at Western Sydney University in Australia spotted four unusual objects in deep space that look like a ring or bubble. They’ve dubbed them Odd Radio Circles or ORCs because they are circular … and so odd.
The researchers have submitted a new paper to Nature Astronomy, where it is currently awaiting peer review.
As explained in the paper’s abstract:
We have found an unexpected class of astronomical objects which have not previously been reported, in the Evolutionary Map of the Universe Pilot [EMU]survey, using the Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder telescope (ASKAP).
The objects appear in radio images as circular edge-brightened discs about one arc-minutediameter, and do not seem to correspond to any known type of object. We speculate that they may represent a spherical shock wave from an extra-galactic transient event, or the outflow, or a remnant, from a radio galaxy viewed end-on.
In other words, they don’t know what they’ve found. They can only speculate.

Here we report the discovery of a class of circular feature in radio images that do not seem to correspond to any of these known types of object or artifact, but rather appear to be a new class of astronomical object.
Scientists first noticed the ORCs in images from the late 2019 Pilot Survey of the Evolutionary Map of the Universe (EMU). The images were collected using ASKAP, one of the world’s most highly sensitive radio telescope arrays.
First, one faint circle was seen in the images, then another. Then the astronomers found a third. Were they glitches? One or two maybe, but three?
One idea was that ORCs might be supernova remnants like this one, G299.2-2.9, but there would need to be many more such remnants than are known to exist in our galaxy.

Another possibility was that ORCs are planetary nebulae, like the Helix Nebula. But the radio spectral index of such a nebula is not consistent with the radio spectral index of ORCs. In other words, the observational details of planetary nebulae don’t match those of ORCs.
Then, a fourth ORC was found in archived data from 2013. In that case, the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT) had been used, a few years before ASKAP began observing.
ORC 1 and ORC 2 were then later observed again using using yet another telescope, the Australian Telescope Compact Array (ATCA). All of these observations showed that these were real objects, not just glitches with ASKAP.
So scientists now accepted that these strange objects were real phenomena, ones that had not been seen before. But what were they?
We still don’t know.
What we do know is that all four ORCs are found at high galactic latitudes, well away from the plane of the galaxy, the flat part containing our sun and most other Milky Way stars. And, as observed, the ORCs are about one arcminute in size (a 60th of a degree or about 3% of the size of the moon).
Scientists still don’t know how far away they are. That’s a big gap in our knowledge about these objects, since, for many objects, the distance away can provide clues to the objects’ identities.
The ORCs are visible only at radio wavelengths, with radio telescopes. They can’t be seen at all in X-ray, optical or infrared wavelengths. Two of the ORCs have a galaxy near the center of the circles, but the other two don’t. ORC 3 appears as a uniform disk, while the other three look more like rings.

Could they be supernova remnants or planetary nebulae, two other well-known kinds of cosmic rings? There’s a similarity, but the researchers say no. They are unlikely to be supernova remnants because three of the ORCs were found in a very small patch of sky. That would imply they were very common, and there would need to be at least 50,000 such supernova remnants in our galaxy to make the numbers work. But astronomers only know of about 350.
So what else could they be? One idea is that they might be huge circular shockwaves from some massive event(s), outside the galaxy. As the researchers noted in the paper:
Several such classes of transient events, capable of producing a spherical shock wave, have recently been discovered, such as fast radio bursts, gamma-ray bursts and neutron star mergers. However, because of the large angular size of the ORCs, any such transients would have taken place in the distant past.
It is also possible that the ORCs represent a new category of a known phenomenon, such as the jets of aradio galaxy or blazar when seen end-on, down the ‘barrel’ of the jet. Alternatively, they may represent some remnant of a previous outflow from a radio galaxy.
Since the discovery of these first four ORCs, the researchers have identified six other candidate ORCs that are fainter.

The ORCs are a fascinating new mystery for astronomers. For those with a truly speculative turn of mind, it might be natural to wonder if they could be artificial in origin. Right now, however, there’s no way to determine that possibility. For now, the ORCs are considered to be most likely natural phenomena. Stay tuned, as astronomers continue to probe for answers.

Are UFOs a Threat to National Security? This Ex-U.S. Official Thinks They Warrant Investigation
Chris Mellon believes the government should more aggressively gather intel on military UFO sightings, some of which were captured on video.
Throughout his distinguished government career, Chris Mellon has been keenly focused on the prospect of unconventional national threats. Now he works with a civilian group calledTo the Stars Academy of Arts & Science, trying to prod the U.S. defense and intelligence communities to investigate reports of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs—also known as UFOs) that maneuver in ways that have no known precedent.
He’s inspired, he says, by the growing number of such sightings in sensitive military contexts—reported by highly trained, highly credible witnesses and corroborated by some of the world’s most sophisticated technology, including several infrared videos shot from fighter jets. He doesn’t claim to know what these unusual crafts might be, nor does he assume they bring “aliens” from afar. To him, they signal a potential high-level strategic threat of unknown origin—one the nation would be foolish to ignore.

Mellon is uniquely qualified to assess such threats. Having served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence during the Clinton and George W. Bush administrations, and later as Minority Staff Director of the Senate Intelligence Committee, he was heavily responsible for reviewing agencies and budgets involved in top-secret “black programs” related to things such as special operations and nuclear weapons. Mellon is now an integral part of the investigative team featured on HISTORY's “Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation.” We talked to him about what’s happening—and what he thinks should be done.
Why raise the alarm now about UFOs/AAVs?
What is really motivating me right now, what really has accelerated and solidified my interest, is the [2004] USS Nimitz case—when I learned of that and began to talk to the military personnel involved. We had multiple naval aviators [reporting] what they saw [wingless UFOs, with extraordinary capabilities] in broad daylight, over an extended period of time. It was corroborated by the most sophisticated air-defense sensor systems on earth, and on multiple platforms operated by multiple independent individuals. So when you start talking about that level of evidence, I think any reasonable person would have to say—this is real, and we should proceed accordingly.
Which means what? Intelligence gathering? Risk assessment?
From a national security standpoint of course, you’re paid to be paranoid, to think about risk. So you do inevitably wonder: Why are these things currently in these locations at these times? Have we been technologically leapfrogged? Could it be the Russians or Chinese—or someone else? And what else may be going on?
There are craft that are violating our airspace with unknown intentions and extraordinary capabilities. And until we get some answers to the questions about the technology involved and the capability, the intentions, we shouldn't rest easy.
I have lived through and survived intelligence failures, including the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon, and the Iraq war. Some of those problems are manifest in the situation again today. And that's part of what concerns me—people are not paying attention or not engaging, and the data is extremely compelling. We don't want to have to relive mistakes we've seen in the past, like in Pearl Harbor, where radar blips were observed and nobody paid attention.
When the Nimitz pilots got back to the aircraft carrier, no one took their report seriously.
It was extraordinary that when the [Nimitz] pilots landed, that they were ridiculed. There was no interest expressed on the part of the intelligence personnel on board, in terms of documenting this, running this up the chain. It was the inverse of what you would normally expect. We spent $50 billion a year and have an intelligence apparatus, in large part to avert strategic surprise. And here we have a case where incredible technology is manifesting itself, intelligently controlled vehicles operating in and around the carrier battle group—and the system doesn't react. It shuts down. It tries to suppress the information.
I think a large part of the reason is because people have a hard time processing something so radical; there's no frame of reference for it.
There's a great deal of agitation on the part of our combat personnel who are encountering these objects—and understandably so. Their concerns are what we're trying to relay. We respect the uniform, we respect those personnel, and we're deeply concerned that the information they’re trying to provide is not being acted on.
If one of these craft bore a Russian insignia, do you think the response would be different?
One of the things that I've often pointed out—and I've never found anyone who disagreed with this—is that if any one of these objects had a Russian insignia on it, the entire system would be electrified and would spring into action.
Sixty years ago, the public was rightly agitated to learn that the Soviet Union had beaten us to space, had deployed the first man-made satellite in orbit. That capability and the momentum they were achieving with their space program understandably generated a lot of concern here in the context of the Cold War. I would hope that people, when they get this information, would react now as the public did then, which is to raise questions about what we are doing in response to that.
How has that question-raising gone for you inside the Beltway?
When you're talking to people about this issue in the Pentagon, you're going to draw blank stares. Even from very high-ranking officials, very, very few of them have any exposure to the actual underlying information and the empirical data. So there's a propensity for people to say, "Well if this were real, I'd know about it, because I'm well plugged in, I've got all these security clearances, and I get access to all this information."
Well, the fact is, the information has not been disseminated through normal channels.
Didn’t the U.S. government investigate UFOs during the Cold War?
In the 1940s, shortly after the war, the military began to encounter an increasing a number of UFOs, and the number of incidents spiked enormously. They recognized the need to try to understand the phenomenon, which resulted in series of investigations culminating in the Air Force’s Project Blue Book, a program that lasted until the late ’60s.
We know from documents that in New Mexico, the director of Air Force security was advocating a study of the phenomenon, because so many people in and around Los Alamos and other facilities where nuclear weapons were being tested, were observing these [anomalous] crafts: scientists, military pilots, civilian pilots, a wide range of individuals.
Ultimately, the government determined it needed to tamp down the public concern, in part because during the Cold War, this could create some kind of hysteria. The government concluded, behind the scenes, that it needed to discredit this phenomenon—not due to a lack of compelling information. It was actually the result of compelling information. When the Air Force undertook this study, they examined 12,000 cases. Of those, 700 were unexplained.
The first question all of us have asked when we've seen the information is: Could this possibly be one of our own programs, a highly classified U.S. test program?
I served in a capacity in which it was my job to conduct oversight of our black programs, and never saw anything of this kind on the books. Moreover, I was once actually specifically asked to determine whether we had a capability along these lines, in response to a query from the chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Senator Bobby Byrd.
I ran that all the way up the flagpole with the Air Force and others, and believe me, everyone respected Senator Byrd. No one was going to lie to him and risk his wrath. And the answer was, “Absolutely not. We don’t have a super-secret black triangle that can go at hypersonic speeds and all that sort of thing.”
Secondly, a technology like this is so radical, it can't just appear out of nowhere. There have to be facilities, there has to have been research and development, a prototype. We don't see any evidence of that anywhere.
Thirdly, these aircraft are being observed operating in and around carrier battle groups that are armed with air-to-air missiles and so forth. We never, to my knowledge, put at risk those personnel—or test personnel—by flying them in an uncoordinated manner against carrier battle groups. That's just not how we operate.

Talk about To the Stars Academy, where you work with Tom DeLonge and Luis Elizondo. What’s the mission?
They are not necessarily asserting that these are alien craft or anything of that kind. They are people like me who see this as an incredible mystery and enigma that that needs to be resolved.
We’re helping to change the climate, I think, and establish that there are reasonable level-headed, patriotic people who are willing to speak about this.
My goal, personally, in my role within the organization, is to help break down the bureaucratic walls that are preventing this information from reaching Congress and the American people. I'm not trying to drive any particular agenda. I want to ensure, if possible, that people who have responsibility for national security are informed and have the facts and the data.
Is anyone else exploring these questions?
One of the things that's really exciting to me is that we are one of only three efforts in the world that are [currently] in a position to potentially answer the profound, timeless question “Are we alone in the universe?”
Today, NASA is spending about $20 billion a year. A small portion of that is directed toward trying to uncover, identify exobiology—alien life. They're looking for microbial life on Mars, and they want to use the next generation of space telescopes to examine the atmospheres of different planets for molecules that would be consistent with life. Not necessarily intelligent life, just some kind of life. So that's a very slow-moving, wonderful program—exquisite science, but not likely to answer the question anytime soon.
There's a Russian billionaire who has self-funded a program listening for signals from space that might reveal alien communications. It's a very worthwhile effort. But so far they've had no success. We probably don't even know what to look for. We probably wouldn't recognize the signals. So it's a difficult proposition.
The third effort, that we're associated with, is trying to convince our government to use the capabilities it already has to understand the UFO phenomenon. And if we find out it's the Russians or Chinese or others, then we've done a great thing for the country and for national security.
What are those capabilities? What are you suggesting?
The U.S. government has an extraordinary network of sensors—from geosynchronous orbit 22,500 miles away to the depths of the ocean—and many places in between. And that fairly exquisitely sophisticated and calibrated sensor network is acquiring data that could help answer these questions that no one is even bothering to look at.
We've already paid for it. It’s just sitting there at a computer and no one is even interested enough to say, “Gee, during that period when this carrier battle group was engaging these unknown vehicles in the Pacific… What other signatures are we seeing in that area?” Nobody's analyzing it, no one's pulling it together.
So the first step is to convince the Congress, the executive branch, to simply use the apparatus the taxpayer has already bought and paid for to try to answer the question.
International Space Station Records Thousands Of Alien Spacecrafts Leaving Earth
On May 18, 2020, a camera from the International Space Station (ISS) recorded something really unusual, thousands of strange objects that simultaneously shoot out from the surface of our planet and fly into outer space.

For them the images show that aliens have been very present on our planet since ancient times. This civilization or civilizations of other worlds have their own underground and submarine bases on Earth, but the question some ask is, what has led them to evade Earth massively?
They consider that this strategy can only be carried out if our planet is doomed and it is very dangerous to be on it. But the threat would not be the coronavirus pandemic, as some have suggested, rather it would be from our closest star. NASA scientists have confirmed that the solar minimum they predicted three years ago has been met.
And scientists have warned that the Dalton minimum, one of the most extreme weather periods in history, will repeat itself. It lasted more than three solar cycles, from 1790-1830, and resulted in heavy snowfall, deep frost, and general cooling worldwide, in addition to drastic weather changes, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and famine. It was hell on Earth.
And if the worst predictions are unfortunately fulfilled, perhaps we would find ourselves facing a mass extinction, just as happened with dinosaurs. The truth is that we do not know if this will be the case, but all the events that are happening in the last months seem to indicate that something will happen on our planet. And this video may be evidence that there isn’t much time left.

During his investigation, he described how a military adviser to the US Navy informed him of a device that could extract information at a specific location “a century, or even a thousand years ago.”
“One of my military advisers worked with naval intelligence, ” Dr. Greer told the Daily Express . “In the old days there was a naval facility at White Oaks just outside of Washington DC. The facility had an electronic device that could extract from any point in space something that had happened in the past in that place. They called it the white noise of space-time. ”
The ufologist explained that this time travel project was developed in the 1970s. He described it as an electronic system that allows you to see what happened an hour ago in the space in which you are sitting at that time. In addition, you can also extract information about what happened a century ago, or a thousand years ago, or a million years ago. Dr. Greer, one of the world’s leading authorities on the extraterrestrial issue, explained that he had interviewed many “informants” about advanced technologies that seemed to work through quantum entanglement , a phenomenon that describes how two particles that are separated by long distances in space or time and how their movements are mysteriously correlated.
“I informed the former defense ministers about these projects,” continues Dr. Greer. “There are highly compartmentalized projects that have not been disclosed even to members of the UK Government.”
The researcher suggested that the machines took advantage of what mystics used to call the Akashic Record . The Akashic Record is described as the storage place for all human events, thoughts, words, emotions, and intentions that ever occurred in the past, present, or future.
“This record is stored in interdimensional space and there are interfaces like the one developed at White Oaks in Maryland that can interact with this kingdom,”emphasizes the ufologist. “Now it turns out that there are actually electronic systems that can access the Akashic Registry, this means everything that has happened in a precise location. A member of my team was at the Maryland base in the 1970s and came up with this electronic device that would extract information from any volume of space. ”
But Dr. Greer goes further, saying that advanced civilizations on other worlds are using consciousness technologies that use the properties of quantum mechanics to travel and appear on Earth.
“The mind itself is not limited to our brain nucleus, our bodies, space and time. The CIA developed remote viewing in the 1970s, where officers were able to see the Soviet Union remotely. They used consciousness as a spy ship and the results were quite successful. The intelligence community took this very, very seriously. Neither time nor space limits consciousness, “concludes the American doctor.
The controversy is served
Without a doubt, Dr. Greer’s revelation is truly shocking, although it should not surprise us. Conspiracy theorists have for years been denouncing as active and passive that time travel is real and is used by governments. We also have witnesses that this technology exists , such as the American lawyer Andrew Basiago , who claimed to be one of the 140 children who, in the late 60s and 70s, participated in a secret program called Project Pegasus, which used the documents not disclosed by Nikola Tesla to take advantage of something called “radiant energy” , a universal force that curves space-time and allows teleportation in “real time”as well as time travel. He even claimed to have photographic evidence of himself as a child a few days before Abraham Lincoln’s murder in 1865.
It must also be said that this is not the first time that Dr. Greer has become the center of controversy for his controversial statements. In 2013 he presented the documentary “Sirius” , where he presented the physical evidence of a humanoid creature analyzed by a doctor and a scientist , found in the Atacama desert, Chile. This being was controversial in the scientific community, with some experts claiming that it was a human fetus with a malformation, while others said that it had human DNA in a being of unknown origin. What is clear is that when Dr. Greer every time he speaks, he ends up causing a true media storm at all levels. There must be a reason.

“U.S. Space Command has evidence that Russia conducted a non-destructive test of a space-based anti-satellite weapon. On July 15, Russia injected a new object into orbit from Cosmos 2543, currently Satellite Catalog Number 45915 in Space-Track.org.”
You read that right – on July 15, 2020, a Russian satellite, which the United States has been keeping close tabs on because of earlier sinister behavior, pulled a move right out of a sci-fi flick by opening an embrasure and firing some sort of projectile into space. The announcement came on the same day (July 23) as a phone call between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in which they were reported to have discussed arms control and exchanged congratulations on the 45th anniversary of the joint Soyuz-Apollo program. No mention was made of the space weapon in the public reports.
“The Russian satellite system used to conduct this on-orbit weapons test is the same satellite system that we raised concerns about earlier this year, when Russia maneuvered near a U.S. government satellite. This is further evidence of Russia’s continuing efforts to develop and test space-based systems, and consistent with the Kremlin’s published military doctrine to employ weapons that hold U.S. and allied space assets at risk.”
Not yet … but soon?
According to Gen. John W. “Jay” Raymond, Commander of U.S. Space Command and U.S. Space Force Chief of Space Operations, the satellite is Cosmos 2543, half of a pair with Cosmos 2542 that has been referred to as a “nesting doll” satellite system because they were launched as one unit but then separated. Russia admits that they are orbital inspector satellites. In keeping with that theme, U.S. Space Command originally considered Object 45915 to be the next smaller nesting doll satellite, but further inspection has convinced Gen. Raymond and others that it’s a space weapon – possibly destined to someday shoot down enemy satellites.
“This event highlights Russia’s hypocritical advocacy of outer space arms control, with which Moscow aims to restrict the capabilities of the United States while clearly having no intention of halting its own counterspace program — both ground-based anti-satellite capabilities and what would appear to be actual in-orbit anti-satellite weaponry.”
Dr. Christopher Ford, the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State and temporary Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security, agrees. The announcement by the U.S. Space Command says it will join forces with the Space Force to deal with this – it sounds like they’re still trying to figure out how these similar groups will work together.
So, now what, Gen. Raymond?
“The United States, in coordination with our allies, is ready and committed to deterring aggression and defending the Nation, our allies and vital U.S. interests from hostile acts in space.”
Are you ready for the lights to blink out?
In other words … posture, accuse and threaten. The evidence released does not 100% identify Object 45915 as a weapon. The U.S. also has anti-satellite weapons and doesn’t appear interested in halting tests. Many countries besides these two and China are putting hundreds of communications satellites in space at a fast pace. Knocking out or severely damaging that communications grid would severely impact life on Earth. Should we try to put more satellites in space than any enemy could ever knock out? Should we push for diplomacy and treaties?
Ha-ha! That’s a good one.
The military space race heats up and we get the chills.
UFO encounters seem to play out a little differently for everyone. It is a phenomenon that has many permutations and outcomes depending on who experiences it. However, there are some commonalities between UFO experiences that have often caused speculation and debate, and these have really run the gamut. One that has been tossed about it the recurring phenomenon of UFO witnesses having lapses in reality or warped perceptions of their surroundings, and this has gone on to actually spawn a whole new theory to try and explain it all.
The theory of what has come to be known as the “Oz Factor” comes from the British author, researcher, and former director of investigations with the British UFO Research Association (BUFORA), Jenny Randles. She has written numerous books and articles on the UFO phenomenon, and has covered such disparate subjects as crop circles, ESP, life after death, time anomalies and spontaneous human combustion. During her deep investigations into the UFO phenomenon, she came across numerous examples of a reported feeling of disassociation from reality from UFO witnesses, in particular those who claimed to have been abducted, and this worked its way into a theory that she would coin as “The Oz Factor.” It came to the attention of Randles that many of those who had had such encounters came away from the experience with some similar symptoms. In particular were feelings of a sense of timelessness, disrupted sensory input, paralysis, missing time, a dreamlike state, and other altered states of consciousness, which always left the experiencer as feeling like they had momentarily checked out of reality as we know it. Such cases are countless, with one early one cited by Randles herself, who writes:
It occurred one hot and thundery day in the summer of 1944. World War II raged around the village of Le Verger, near Toulon-sur-Arroux, France, when a thirteen-year-old girl, Madeleine Arnoux, decided to risk the many Germans and resistance fighters in the woods to cycle out and pick berries. In doing so she confronted a strange object in the grass, like a small car but dull grey in color. She then noticed that small men stood beside it, no more than three feet tall and dressed in brown one-piece suits. Feeling desperately afraid, she tried to run but was paralyzed and lost all sense of time (the Oz Factor once more). Then, inexplicably, the object had gone and the hold on her was relaxed. She fled back to her village.

Another case along these lines was reported on the site Phantoms and Monsters, with a witness who was out helping a friend move from North Carolina to Naples, Florida. After they had reached the destination and unloaded the truck, they stayed in the area a few days and made their way to the Naples Pier, and this is where a strange event would transpire. The witness says:
We walked out to the end, looked at what the fisherman caught that day, etc. While everyone else was at the end of the pier, I started walking back towards the entrance. While walking, I remember having this really weird feeling like something was happening. Time was slowing down or something. It’s really difficult to describe. Almost like some kind of magnetic feeling or hypnotizing feeling. I remember turning around and looking up at the sky for some reason. When I looked up, I remember seeing this weird metallic looking ball in the sky. Literally the same kind of UFO you would see photos of online. But the weird thing is, it was like everything else kept going on around me. Everyone was walking, I couldn’t really hear anyone talking. Almost like I was in a different time “field” or something. Then there was literally like a “snap” back to reality, and everything around me was normal. People walking, talking, at “normal speed.” As crazy as that sounds, it’s a 100% true story.
There are many, many other reports just like this, and this all fits into Randles’ theory that UFOs have the ability to somehow distort perceptions and reality around those who see them. The effects of this can include a wide variety of phenomena, such as physical tingling, perception of an electromagnetic field or electrostatic charge control body, alteration in electrical appliances, motor paralysis, blackouts, headlights off, deviation light rays, interference in communications (radio and radar), sense of timelessness, time distorting or slowing down, even stopping, amnesia, hallucinations, a persistent hum, dizziness, a sense of unreality, the elimination of all sound, perception of a mild low frequency hum, déjà vu, and many others. Randles herself describes it all as:
An induced form of sensory deprivation which seems to alter the state of consciousness of the percipient. It can become visible as a sensation of time standing still, or interfered with, or it manifests as all sound vanishing, a very odd feeling of being isolated from our world into a magic world. It is less easy to describe than recognize, since witnesses often refer to it without having any idea of its significance. This underlines its importance.
The idea is that these entities behind the phenomena are somehow altering and twisting out perceptions to control us or influence us, and it is even suggested as a reason for why others might not have seen anything out of the ordinary during the event, as the whole thing has happened in some sort of “cocoon” away from normal reality, in its own little universe, in a sense. Such episodes could be profound, and Randles say of the reports she researched to come to this conclusion:
Witnesses would tell me that they felt a strange sensation prior to the encounter – a sort of mental tingling as if they were aware that something was about to happen. They would even tell me they just had to look up and see what was there – as if it had called to them silently. Then I would be told that during the experience, time seemed to disappear and lose all meaning. It was as if the encounter were happening in a timeless, magical void. Further clues kept popping up the more that I tabulated these cases. For instance, there were claims that at the onset of the episode all ambient sounds faded away c bird song, the wind in the trees, distant train noises, et cetera. All of these clues pointed towards an isolation factor at work, as if the witness were being singled out and put into a cocoon whereby he or she could experience the UFO, whereas anyone outside of it could not.
This all seems to suggest that the UFO phenomenon is having some effect on reality itself as it occurs, representing a disassociation from the barriers of time and space, and it is a theory that is no doubt debated, but nevertheless embraced by some other researchers who follow a similar train of thought. The legendary astrophysicist and UFO researcher Dr. Jacques Vallee has said of this:
At close range, the UFO phenomenon acts as a reality transformer, triggering for the witness a series of symbolic displays that are indistinguishable from reality. These displays, which frequently begin with a bewildering series of blinking coloured lights of extraordinary intensity, induce a state of intense confusion for the subjects who are vulnerable to the insertion of new thoughts and new visual experiences. What we see emerging in the UFO phenomenon is not gradual contact but rather gradual control – of our beliefs, expectations, fears, hopes and dreams. We know from behavioural psychology that the best schedule of reinforcement is one that combines periodicity with unpredictability. Learning is then slow but continuous, it leads to the highest level of adaptation. And it is irreversible. It is interesting to observe that the pattern of UFO waves has the same structure as a schedule of reinforcement.
Another researcher, Michael Talbot, also gives his opinion on this phenomenon and what it might mean. Talbot thinks that this is indicative of the holographic nature of the universe, and that it all represents a sort of “awakening.” Talbot has said:
At present we simply do not know, but in a world that is comprised less of solid objects travelling in space and time and more of ghostly holograms of energy sustained by processes that are at least partially connected to human consciousness, such events may not be as impossible as they appear …. the evidence suggests that we are still children when it comes to understanding the true nature of time. And like all children poised on the threshold of adulthood, we should put aside our fears and come to terms with the way the world really is. I propose that such phenomena are difficult to categorise because we are trying to hammer them into a picture of reality that is fundamentally incorrect. Given that quantum physics has shown us that mind and matter are inextricably linked, I suggested that UFOs and related phenomena are further evidence of this ultimate lack of division between the psychological and physical worlds. They are indeed a product of the human psyche, but they are quite real. Put another way, they are something the human race has not yet learned to comprehend properly, a phenomenon that is neither subjective nor objective but ‘omnijective’ – a term I coined to refer to this unusual state of existence.
What does this all mean? Do UFOs have the ability to warp our reality or perception of it, to envelope us in a seperate existence, and if so, how do they do it? Whatever the case may be, Randles believes it to be an integral part of the UFO phenomena as a whole, and has written:
The Oz Factor implies that the UFO Close Encounter has a visionary component. You might interpret that as meaning it is all in the imagination, but it really means that there is a direct feed, if you like, from the source of the encounter to the consciousness of the witness. Something makes them pay attention by tuning out the normal sensory flow and looking up to watch the show. Where that show is being projected from remains the subject of great fascination. And it certainly does not eliminate a [different] intelligence as running this show.
To me, the Oz Factor is a vital key to the UFO mystery, and may help us to resolve what is happening. We should not be afraid of its implications; just because it seems to suggest a fuzziness to the phenomenon. In truth, we should embrace these cases. Indeed they seem to make a lot more sense when seen in the context of modern physics and our understanding of quantum reality, multiple dimensions, and relativity. These fields are pretty weird and produce consequences that science has been wrestling with for 100 years. That UFO close encounters exhibit equal strangeness is, to me, a sign that we are on track for the right answers.
It is unclear what all of this has to do with the UFO phenomenon, but it is interesting to ponder. How deep do these experiences reach into out psyches and reality, and what ripples do they send out around all that we know? Is there some force that is tinkering with our perceptions during such events and what is its significance? Like everything else about UFOs we are likely to be left to the limbo of speculation and debate until something more concrete comes forward, and this is another theory that pervades the phenomena inviting us to discuss.

I was using an app on my iPhone called Saturn Atlas when I noticed a huge black structure on the moon Iapetus. The structure is massive...about 5km across, 4km wide and 1.5km tall. The area it totally blurred out by NASA to hide it, but it still stands out very well. I have searched many other photos of this moon, none of them still have this structure. This app uses an old NASA index which no longer has those photos there, but lucky for us, the app has not updated or changed them. 100% proof that aliens exist and thrive on a moon of Saturn. Just last week I reported a cube near our sun, but today I want to show you a cube hiding over our cities. This square UFO was hiding within some clouds over Ormond Beach, Florida and it pushed the clouds away from it to make room for itself. If you remember the O'Hare Airport UFO incident...then you will remember that the UFO sat below the cloud ceiling for over 20 minutes and then shot up at an angle through the clouds leaving a round hole for more than 12 minutes after the event...so UFOs do make holes in clouds. Thats been proven a fact. Here is a similar event in Florida. The clouds came from the ocean with the UFO hiding in it, but its so obvious that the square UFO is there. Awesome raw footage. This morning, I noticed a huge square cube cloud structure over beachside, approaching the Aliki Towers in #OrmondBeach #Florida. My best friend @beachgirlflagler and I watched it for a couple of minutes until it just vanished from our view. Our eyes could see it no more, however it turns out that my camera was able to still see it in the video I'll post next. Weird.
This metal disk was seen on the flatbed of a tow truck in the capital city of Cali, Colombia last week. The object does resemble the classic UFO with its unusual round upper dome and thick body. The video appeared on Instagram and it does appear to be an alien craft that may have crashed on someones farm and is currently being taken to the military. UFOs come in all shapes and sizes and do not conform to the norms that the public has come to expect due to sci-fi movies. This one has some interesting structures on its lower half. For over a decade, the Pentagon's UFO program has only been discussed in classified briefings. Pentagon's UFO hunting department was NOT disbanded in 2012 as stated and could now give public reports every six months.
Now, the New York Times has just released a bombshell article titled "No longer in the shadows" on classified UFO briefings received by members of U.S. Congress and Pentagon officials amid claims it discovered and recovered objects 'we couldn't make ourselves' and 'off-world vehicles not made on this earth'.
The New York Times (NYT) story cites Dr. Eric Davis, a physicist currently working with the Aerospace Corporation, who gave briefings that classified corporate studies were being conducted on the "off-world vehicles" recovered and held in corporate facilities.
The answer to the question if we're alone in the universe may soon be answered.

A massive asteroid shower hit Earth and the moon 800 million years ago that bombarded the planet with 40 to 50 trillion metric tons of meteoroids. In fact, it was so massive that it was believed to have triggered an ice age.
According to a new study from Japan, researchers studied 59 craters on the moon (each of them measuring at least 12 miles wide) by analyzing data from the Japanese lunar orbiter spacecraft Kaguya. They studied the rings of rock that were thrown by meteors hitting the moon in order to determine when the impacts happened.
They also studied the Copernicus crater (which is 57 miles wide) where rock samples were collected by Apollo astronauts. The researchers conducted radioisotope dating tests on the rocks that were ejected from the crater during the impact as well as from other craters on the moon and they determined that they were formed approximately 800 million years ago during a massive asteroid shower.
While it is believed that the asteroid shower would have also rained down on Earth, it’s hard to know with guaranteed certainty as many of the impact craters that occurred prior to 600 million years ago have been erased over the years because of geological activity such as volcanism and erosion. Assuming that the asteroid shower would have affected Earth as well, scientists have estimated that between 40 and 50 trillion metric tons of meteoroids would have rained down on our planet. For comparison, that would have been 30 to 60 times the mass of the Chicxulub dinosaur-killing asteroid that hit the planet 66 million years ago. It also would have sent 100 billion metric tons of phosphorus across the planet which is approximately ten times more than all of the phosphorus found in our oceans today.
The asteroid shower may have triggered an ice age on Earth as the impact would have happened not long before the Cryogenian period where the entire planet was thought to have been covered in ice. Asteroid impacts are known to affect the Earth as the Chicxulub impact sent a large amount of dust into the air which cooled the Earth’s temperature in addition to making the skies turn dark. And another meteoroid shower that happened approximately 470 million years ago would have also sent large amounts of dust into the air which could have possibly triggered the mid-Ordovician ice age.
Kentaro Terada, who is a cosmochemist at Osaka University in Japan and the lead author of the study, told Space.com, “From these considerations, I can say that it is not strange that an asteroid shower 800 million years ago might have triggered an ice age, because the total mass 800 million years ago in our study is 10 to 100 times larger than that of the Chicxulub impact and a meteoroid shower 470 million years ago.”
An interesting point made by Terada and his colleagues is that the asteroid shower may have happened around the same time as the Eulalia family of asteroids were formed, which, coincidentally, is believed to be the parent body of Bennu and Ryugu. Once samples from both asteroids are brought back to Earth and analyzed, we’ll know for sure.
“My next research plan is to date the collected samples from asteroids Ryugu and Bennu,” Terada said, adding, “If we get the age of 800 million years from the Ryugu sample, I will be so excited.” Now we just have to wait and see if there is a connection.
For the first time ever, a multi-planet system orbiting a sun-like star has been photographed by astronomers. The photograph, which was captured by the European Southern Observatory’s Very Large Telescope (or VLT) in Chile, shows two massive planets orbiting a young sun-like star called TYC 8998-760-1. The system is located approximately 300 light-years away from us.
The 17 million-year-old sun-like star was analyzed by astronomers using the VLT’s Spectro-Polarimetric High-contrast Exoplanet Research instrument (or SPHERE) that allowed them to study the orbiting planets. While they already knew that the planet TYC 8998-760-1b existed, TYC 8998-760-1c has only been recently identified.

And these planets are huge as TYC 8998-760-1b is around 14 times larger than Jupiter and orbits at an average distance of 160 astronomical units (AU) from its star, while TYC 8998-760-1c is about 6 times more massive than Jupiter and orbits at a distance of 320 AU. To get a better understanding of the distance, one AU is about the average distance as Earth is to our sun (93 million miles). Interestingly, Jupiter orbits our sun at a distance of 5 AU while Saturn orbits at 10 AU. It’s still unknown whether these two planets were pushed away from their sun or if they were formed where they are currently orbiting.
Alexander Bohn, who is a doctoral student at Leiden University in the Netherlands and an author of the study, said in a statement, “This discovery is a snapshot of an environment that is very similar to our solar system, but at a much earlier stage of its evolution.”
TYC 8998-760-1c and TYC 8998-760-1b are 6 and 14 times more massive than Jupiter.
Prior to this recent photograph, there have been two other images captured of multi-planet systems, however, neither of them contained a sun-like star, so this new photo is definitely a fascinating never-before-seen accomplishment. Matthew Kenworthy, who is an associate professor at Leiden University and another author of the study, added that while thousands of exoplanets have already been discovered, only a small percentage of them have ever been photographed. The picture that the astronomers took of the two planets orbiting TYC 8998-760-1 can be seen here.
The two giant planets in the TYC 8998-760-1 system are visible as two bright dots in the center (TYC 8998-760-1b) and bottom right (TYC 8998-760-1c) of the frame, noted by arrows. Other bright dots, which are background stars, are visible in the image as well. By taking different images at different times, the team was able to distinguish the planets from the background stars. The image was captured by blocking the light from the young, sunlike star (top-left of center) using a coronagraph, which allows for the fainter planets to be detected. The bright and dark seen on the star’s image are optical artifacts.

Bohn addressed this very question by stating, “The possibility that future instruments, such as those available on the ELT, will be able to detect even lower-mass planets around this star marks an important milestone in understanding multi-planet systems, with potential implications for the history of our own solar system.”
Those up on their real Aztec history know that the derogatory phrase “Montezuma’s revenge” refers to the consequences bestowed on the descendants of Europeans for the murder of the greatest Aztec emperor by the Spanish conquistador Hernan Cortes. They also know that his real name was Moctezuma II (also Motecuhzoma Xocoyotzin, which means Moctezuma the Younger) and his imprisonment and mysterious death — possibly in the crossfire of a battle between Spaniards and Aztecs — occurred in his own palace of Axayácatl. While its general location was long thought to be buried somewhere under Mexico City, it has never been found … until now.

A press release from Mexico’s National Institute of Anthropology and History describes the recent discovery and identification of a house built by Hernan Cortes next to what is now known to be the remains of the courtyard of Moctezuma II’s Palace of Axayácatl. The discovery was made during excavations being done as part of renovations to the historic Nacional Monte de Piedad, which was once a pawnshop dating back to 1775 but most recently housed a charitable nonprofit organization. Urban archeologists Raúl Barrera Rodríguez and José María García Guerrero led the excavations.

“Barrera and García emphasize that the vestiges of the nascent Viceregal era correspond to reused materials from the Old Houses of Axayácatl. These premises, like so many other structures of the Sacred Precinct of Tenochtitlan, were destroyed by the Spanish and their indigenous allies, almost to their foundations.”
The archeologists identified materials in the construction of the living quarters of Cortes that were taken from destroyed Aztec buildings, including from the palace of Moctezuma II’s father, Axayacatl – a desecration and destruction of Aztec culture that continued long after Cortes was gone. A wall in one room contained “two pre-Hispanic dressed stones carved with sculptures” depicting a feathered serpent (Quetzalcóatl – the Plumed Serpent god) and a headdress of feathers. They also found pottery and earthenware was dated to the time of Moctezuma II.

Sadly, Moctezuma II had welcomed Cortes and his men to stay at the palace and in its adjacent houses, only to see the beginning of their destruction before he was imprisoned and killed. Unfortunately, this discovery of his palace so far has not revealed any more clues as to how died or where his remains were taken. The best accounts of the time say he was either killed immediately by a stone hitting his head or died later of multiple wounds that were not treated. His body was said to have been removed and possibly cremated.
In the press release, Raúl Barrera decries the “paucity” of material evidence of the existence of the palaces of Axayácatl and Moctezuma II because of the utter destruction of the main buildings “both for symbolic and practical purposes.” “Practical” as in the near genocide of an ancient culture and the destruction of its heritage for quick-and-easy building materials.
It’s not the water. Perhaps Moctezuma II is exacting revenge in some other way. Any ideas?

The blockbuster UFO revelation hinted to in leaks to the mainstream media and the UFO research community was made public last night and it was, to say the least, somewhat underwhelming – despite quotes about “off-road vehicles not made on this earth.” Reporters Ralph Blumenthal and Leslie Kean reveal their best card right up front – that the Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force is actually the renamed Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), whose funding ended in 2012 but allegedly stayed operational for a number of years. The Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force made its official debut on June 17, 2020, in the Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 report submitted to the Senate by Florida Senator Marco Rubio, who earlier this week said in public that he personally hopes UFOs are otherworldly and not secret planes from China.
Now we know this is a funded project once again. What else?
“We couldn’t make it ourselves.”
The article quotes Eric W. Davis, an astrophysicist who worked as a subcontractor and then a consultant AATIP, who said he told government officials in 2019 and 2020 that materials he had examined were indeed impossible for humans to make and possibly from “off-road vehicles not made on this earth.” It also quoted former senator Harry Reid, who helped fund AATIP originally, saying that he had seen evidence of otherworldly craft and “there were actual materials that the government and the private sector had in their possession.” Throw in a confirmation from Luis Elizondo, the former director of AATIP, that the new task force evolved from AATIP and you pretty much have the whole blockbuster revelation.

The Senate report said the program, the Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force, was “to standardize collection and reporting” on sightings of unexplained aerial vehicles, and was to report at least some of its findings to the public every six months.” So, do we wait until six months from June 2020 for the first “some of its findings”? July? Does the Senate act have to be approved before the clock starts? Who starts the clock? Will the “findings” include the public display of physical materials from alien vehicles or from secret Earth enemy planes? Why wait six months? Why not show them now?
For now, the best answer to those questions is the one President Trump gave to his son Don Jr. when asked if he would declassify any information on the Roswell UFO incident.
“I’ll have to think about that one.”
Until the public sees real physical evidence, all we’ve gotten so far is ‘thinking’ – from the president, from the Pentagon, from government officials … and from this new revelation from The New York Times.
No Longer in Shadows, Pentagon’s U.F.O. Unit Will Make Some Findings Public
For over a decade, the program, now tucked inside the Office of Naval Intelligence, has discussed mysterious events in classified briefings.

Despite Pentagon statements that it disbanded a once-covert program to investigate unidentified flying objects, the effort remains underway — renamed and tucked inside the Office of Naval Intelligence, where officials continue to study mystifying encounters between military pilots and unidentified aerial vehicles.
Pentagon officials will not discuss the program, which is not classified but deals with classified matters. Yet it appeared last month in a Senate committee report outlining spending on the nation’s intelligence agencies for the coming year. The report said the program, the Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force, was “to standardize collection and reporting” on sightings of unexplained aerial vehicles, and was to report at least some of its findings to the public within 180 days after passage of the intelligence authorization act.
While retired officials involved with the effort — including Harry Reid, the former Senate majority leader — hope the program will seek evidence of vehicles from other worlds, its main focus is on discovering whether another nation, especially any potential adversary, is using breakout aviation technology that could threaten the United States.
Senator Marco Rubio, the Florida Republican who is the acting chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, told a CBS affiliate in Miami this month that he was primarily concerned about reports of unidentified aircraft over American military bases — and that it was in the government’s interest to find out who was responsible.
He expressed concerns that China or Russia or some other adversary had made “some technological leap” that “allows them to conduct this sort of activity.”
Mr. Rubio said some of the unidentified aerial vehicles over U.S. bases possibly exhibited technologies not in the American arsenal. But he also noted: “Maybe there is a completely, sort of, boring explanation for it. But we need to find out.”
In 2017, The New York Times disclosed the existence of a predecessor unit, called the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program. Defense Department officials said at the time that the unit and its $22 million in funding had lapsed after 2012.
People working with the program, however, said it was still in operation in 2017 and beyond, statements later confirmed by the Defense Department.
The program was begun in 2007 under the Defense Intelligence Agency and was then placed within the office of the undersecretary of defense for intelligence, which remains responsible for its oversight. But its coordination with the intelligence community will be carried out by the Office of Naval Intelligence, as described in the Senate budget bill. The program never lapsed in those years, but little was disclosed about the post-2017 operations.
The Pentagon program’s previous director, Luis Elizondo, a former military intelligence official who resigned in October 2017 after 10 years with the program, confirmed that the new task force evolved from the advanced aerospace program.

“It no longer has to hide in the shadows,” Mr. Elizondo said. “It will have a new transparency.”
Mr. Elizondo is among a small group of former government officials and scientists with security clearances who, without presenting physical proof, say they are convinced that objects of undetermined origin have crashed on earth with materials retrieved for study.
For more than a decade, the Pentagon program has been conducting classified briefings for congressional committees, aerospace company executives and other government officials, according to interviews with program participants and unclassified briefing documents.
In some cases, earthly explanations have been found for previously unexplained incidents. Even lacking a plausible terrestrial explanation does not make an extraterrestrial one the most likely, astrophysicists say.
Mr. Reid, the former Democratic senator from Nevada who pushed for funding the earlier U.F.O. program when he was the majority leader, said he believed that crashes of objects of unknown origin may have occurred and that retrieved materials should be studied.
“After looking into this, I came to the conclusion that there were reports — some were substantive, some not so substantive — that there were actual materials that the government and the private sector had in their possession,” Mr. Reid said in an interview.
No crash artifacts have been publicly produced for independent verification. Some retrieved objects, such as unusual metallic fragments, were later identified from laboratory studies as man-made.

Eric W. Davis, an astrophysicist who worked as a subcontractor and then a consultant for the Pentagon U.F.O. program since 2007, said that, in some cases, examination of the materials had so far failed to determine their source and led him to conclude, “We couldn’t make it ourselves.”
The constraints on discussing classified programs — and the ambiguity of information cited in unclassified slides from the briefings — have put officials who have studied U.F.O.s in the position of stating their views without presenting any hard evidence.
Mr. Davis, who now works for Aerospace Corporation, a defense contractor, said he gave a classified briefing to a Defense Department agency as recently as March about retrievals from “off-world vehicles not made on this earth.”
Mr. Davis said he also gave classified briefings on retrievals of unexplained objects to staff members of the Senate Armed Services Committee on Oct. 21, 2019, and to staff members of the Senate Intelligence Committee two days later.
Committee staff members did not respond to requests for comment on the issue.
Public fascination with the topic of U.F.O.s has drawn in President Trump, who told his son Donald Trump Jr. in a June interview that he knew “very interesting” things about Roswell — a city in New Mexico that is central to speculation about the existence of U.F.O.s. The president demurred when asked if he would declassify any information on Roswell. “I’ll have to think about that one,” he said.
Either way, Mr. Reid said, more should be made public to clarify what is known and what is not. “It is extremely important that information about the discovery of physical materials or retrieved craft come out,” he said.
