The pilot had just started flying over Arizona on a flight going from Phoenix, Arizona to Hebron, Kentucky when he noticed a strange object in the cloud over them. His 15 second audio was released to the public and is 100% proof that UFOs do exist and are flying very close to US passenger airliners! It happened at 1pm on Sunday the 21st of February. 

 

Listen to the excitement in the pilots voice. He has really seen something that he has never seen before! A UFO. It sounds like its as big or bigger than his plane. We put our lives into the hands of pilots when we fly ourselves and loved ones to new locations...so if we would trust the pilots with our lives, wouldn't it just be logical to believe them at their word for seeing a UFO? Of course we have too. The pilot and probably copilot and some others on the plane probably also saw the strange object. American Airlines almost got video of the UFO, because most larger jets like the 777 and the a380, and a340s have several external cameras recoding below them. Had the UFO been below the plane...it would have been recorded for sure. I remember taking a plane last year and the screen at my seat had a direct line to the outside lower camera to see below. It was cool, but...I wonder, do they also have an upper camera? Then a UFO video would exist, but the FBI would never admit to a video existing.

This is a time lapse of some night photography that Black Bulldog Photo did a couple of months ago and it shows a strange streak of light apparently releasing a bright object. 

Immediately after the streak of light, the second object appears from behind the top of the mountain, slowly descending and although the first object looks like a meteorite, it does not yet explain the second object. 

Since he images were taken at Red Springs, just west of Las Vegas facing Area51, the photographer wonders whether it was a launch of some sort or not.

But while its maroon appearance is certainly out of this world, it is merely due to the cameras on Nasa's Perseverance craft not yet having calibrated as it comes in to land. 

Perseverance last week became the first rover to video its own Mars landing and has taken more than 23,000 photos. 

Al Chen, of Nasa's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, said: 'These videos and these images are the stuff of our dreams.'

“Aliens Exist” & “It’s Possible They Are Here Right Now” – Says Another Astronaut

Dr. Helen Sharman was Britain’s first astronaut. She went to space 28 years ago and recently made headlines by stating that there is no doubt whatsoever that “All sorts of forms of life” exist in the universe, and it’s possible that “They’re here right now” and in some cases we “simply can’t see them” as they are so different to humanity.

Could she have been referring to beings that exist within other dimensions? Based on my research, when it comes to the topic of UFOs and the extraterrestrial hypothesis as an explanation for some of these objects, many have hypothesized that some of these craft simply pop in and out of our existence, perhaps from another dimension.

Sharman told the Observer Magazine that “Aliens exist, there’s no two ways about it” and that “There are so many billions of stars out there in the universe that there must be all sorts of forms of life.”

The chemist spent eight days as a researcher on the space mission when she was 27, making her one of the youngest people to enter orbit.

This echoes the thoughts and feelings of the majority, if not all of the scientific community right now when it comes to contemplating life beyond our own world.

The list of astronauts around the world who have shared their belief that intelligent life exists, in abundance, elsewhere in our known universe is quite long. Some have even stated that they have been privy to evidence suggesting that we have been visited, and are being visited.

Apollo 14’s Dr. Edgar Mitchell is a great example. He spent many years creating awareness about the UFO phenomenon, and made many incredible statements throughout his life. He claimed to be “privileged  enough to be in on the fact that we have been visited on this planet” and that “the UFO phenomenon is real.”

His words were verified after his passing by  the leak of this document.  The focal point of the document is about a meeting (and what happened after that meeting) that took place in 1997 between UFO researcher Dr. Steven Greer, Admiral Wilson, Dr. Edgar Mitchell (Apollo 14 astronaut) and other high ranking individuals within the military. This meeting was spoken about by Dr. Greer and Dr. Mitchell nearly four years prior to the leak of these documents on multiple occasions. You can learn more about this document, here.

Dr. Brian O’leary, a former astronaut and Princeton physics professor has stated that “there is abundant evidence that we are being contacted,” astronaut Story Musgrave has done the same, stating that intelligent life most certainly exists and that “they’re doing star travel, that’s how good they are.” Gordon Cooper and again,  several others have done the same. Apollo 12 astronaut Al Worden has also made some interesting comments about aliens.

All of these statements are quite out-dated, and since they’ve been made it’s been proven without a doubt that the UFO phenomenon is real. The mainstream seems to be getting more acclimatized to this fact, as objets performing maneuvers that no known air-craft can have been documented via electrooptical data, like video recordings and radar trackings, as well as high ranking testimony from hundreds trained observers.

A former Pentagon official who led a secret government program to research potential UFOs, revealed in 2017, told CNN at the time that he believes there is evidence of alien life reaching Earth, and that the UFO phenomenon is part of that evidence.

We’ve see mainstream UFO disclosure ramp up quite a bit every single year, as it continues to be legitimized by articles taking the subject seriously in media outlets like the Washington Post, and the New York Times.  It’s quite clear that something is going on.

For so long, humans have been fascinated by extraterrestrial life. Some of us long to find aliens greatly that they are willing to fund projects that seek life beyond earth.

This fascination also heavily reflects our culture. The films we've produced, the books we've written, and even songs we've played have used aliens as central characters and topics. The highest-grossing movie of all time is currently The Russo brothers' Avengers: Endgame. It surpassed James Cameron's Avatar. So it appears that both movies depict a reality wherein aliens—or any being that lives outside the earth—are the pivotal characters.

When Musk was asked how often he thought about aliens, he chuckled and answered "Zero". Maybe the SpaceX co-founder would change his mind one day if aliens do reveal themselves.

Although some might disagree and find Musk's statement quite unnerving for someone who encourages becoming multi-planetary, his statement still holds true; there is still no concrete evidence of intelligent life on earth.

But when the time comes, Elon will most likely be in the know, and you'll probably hear it first on his Twitter feed.

Alien Contactee Bridget Nielsen: Greys Are Creating Alien Hybrids Using DNA From 8 Species

The question: “Do aliens exist or not?” is as exciting as horrible at the same time. Are we alone in this universe or there are others? Still, there is no solid proof, but many people strongly believe in the existence of the ETs, and a few of them claimed to have seen them and even about breeding with aliens. Meet 34-year-old Bridget Nielsen from Arizona, the United States, whose story is extremely remarkable. She claimed to be a mother of several alien hybrid children of different races.

Bridget Nielsen is one of the few abductees who is actually chosen by otherworldly beings for giving birth to human-alien children as she claimed in her first video on YouTube in 2012. She said that she had given birth to dozens of alien children on a giant spaceship in space but cannot disclose their identity (photos) because alien fathers do not want them to visit the Earth.

Nielsen is a member of the “Hybrid Baby Community” which connects alien hybrid children to their human parents and on a mission “to create a high-frequency cocoon, based on the guidance received from the kids.”

Some women who are members of the community claimed to had made love with aliens. Others stated that they had been abducted but instead of physical relations with aliens, their DNAs were taken, harvested, and created into hybrid kids. Besides, some women were used as surrogate mothers of alien children.

Surprisingly, Nielsen reportedly enjoyed mating with aliens and said she had a positive experience with ETs.

“I’ve only really had positive interactions with ETs. You know, I’ve seen visuals of them, I felt them, they’ve helped me. I’m in communication with them in very positive ways to help us awaken in our future here in 2012, but I haven’t had those negative experiences and remembered my own abduction and so, I’d like to go through that because for most people, all that they remember is that fear and that pain and culturally, that’s what we’re all remembering as we can see reflected in our movies in film.”

She confidently said that the greys are the future human beings who from time to time contact and abduct humans to strengthen their race and increase their population as their bodies are more fertile to give birth. What’s more, they are here to awaken humankind and prevent them to become like them.

She is not specific about the time when aliens started using her body to create hybrid kids, but she remembers that she sometimes skipped her menstrual cycles and suddenly, it returned back to normal.

“They actually have put implant you with babies and then you have them and they grow either in your stomach or in the test tubes on the ships,” she said.

Nielson once saw an alien spaceship in the sky and instantly felt pain in her ovaries. She understood that it was a sign that aliens took her eggs to the spaceship.

She knows that she has hybrid children in another dimension and not just one but more than 10.

All these claims by Nielsen sound bizarre, but what if they are true? Another shocking claim from her is that the extraterrestrials only take females from selective gene pools and who are willing to give birth to alien children. They are on a mission to replace humanity with advanced and improved alien hybrids.

“They are not just taking our children — they are creating a hybrid race to better humanity,” she said.

She explained how the Greys use human ecstasy to create hybrid children. She wrote that during orgasm, the aliens capture the “human’s 6th density energy to create the vibrational and archetypal template for the hybrids.”

She drew a sketch of a reptilian hybrid boy who was the result of this “template extraction” with a reptilian father. According to her, the Greys have been using the DNA from 8 alien species to create human-alien hybrids. These species are Arcturian, Orion, Pleiadian, Sirian, Obsilo, Annunaki, Zeta Reticulan, and Homo Sapiens.

There are several such documented cases including Aluna Verse and Meng Zhaoguo. They both shared a similar story where they had intimate contact with aliens.

Of course, Nielsen has suffered after such claims. She lost friends and her career as a marketing professional, even her own mother does not believe her story. She cannot find any boyfriend or husband after her stories came out and has no normal relationships.

NASA SPOTS DEEP, STRANGE HOLE ON MARS

“The hope was to determine if this was an isolated pit, or if it was a skylight into a tunnel, much like skylights in the lava tubes of Hawai’i,” Beyer wrote. “We can’t obviously see any tunnels in the visible walls, but they could be in the other walls that aren’t visible.”

Mapping Caves

NASA’s spacecraft have spotted possible skylights like the one Beyer describes. In 2012, for instance, the MRO took photos of suspected cave skylights up to 225 meters across.

Luckily, NASA is already working on flying drones that could eventually be used to map these caverns in the future — because one thing is clear: a rover like Perseverance isn’t likely to survive a tumble into a giant pit of darkness.

Et une équipe de la Nasa et du Centre allemand pour l’aéronautique et l’astronautique (DLR) nous apprend aujourd'hui que certains microbes, en particulier les spores d'Aspergillus niger -- un champignon de couleur noire qui apparaît sur les fruits et légumes --, sont capables de survivre, au moins temporairement, dans l'environnement martien.

Pour tester l'endurance de ces micro-organismes, les chercheurs ont imaginé une MARSBOx -- pour Microbes in atmosphere for radiation, survival and biological outcomes -- remplie d'une atmosphère martienne artificielle. Une atmosphère composée donc essentiellement de dioxyde de carbone (CO₂) et d'un peu d'argon (Ar) et de diazote (N₂) et de traces de dioxygène (O₂), d'eau (H₂O) et de méthane (CH₄). Le tout maintenu à une pression environ 170 fois inférieure à celle qui fait loi sur Terre.

Puis, à l'aide d'un ballon, les chercheurs ont expédié cette MARSBOx au-dessus de la couche d'ozone, dans la stratosphère moyenne de notre Planète, à quelque 38 kilomètres d'altitude, pour y trouver les conditions les plus semblables à celles qui règnent sur Mars, notamment concernant l'exposition à un rayonnement ultraviolet (UV) intense.

Les travaux menés par les chercheurs montrent notamment que certains champignons — ici Aspergillus niger —, transportés par inadvertance, pourraient résister aux conditions martiennes.

The oldest rock painting so far discovered in Australia dates back more than 17,000 years and was of a life-size kangaroo. Found in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, the two-meter-long painting was found on the sloping ceiling of an ancient rock shelter.

A team of experts from the University of Melbourne were able to determine the age of the kangaroo painting by radiocarbon dating mud wasp nests that were found inside of the rock shelter. Their results determined that it is the oldest in-situ painting (in its original place) and the oldest painting still present on the wall of a rock shelter ever found in Australia.

As for the mud wasp nests, they were located overlying and underlying the painting which is quite rare. Lead author of the study, Dr. Damien Finch, explained how they analyzed the nests, “We radiocarbon dated three wasp nests underlying the painting and three nests built over it to determine, confidently, that the painting is between 17,500 and 17,100 years old; most likely 17,300 years old.”

Researchers studied the kangaroo painting as well as other images close to it in order to determine in which order they were created. The kangaroo is an example of an old style of painting called Irregular Infill Animal/Naturalistic Period that began in approximately 28000 BC and depicted many life-size animals.

Dr. Finch detailed how important this discovery was, “This is a significant find as through these initial estimates, we can understand something of the world these ancient artists lived in,” adding, “We can never know what was in the mind of the artist when he/she painted this piece of work more than 600 generations ago, but we do know that the Naturalistic period extended back into the Last Ice Age.”

Dr. Sven Ouzman from the University Western Australia’s School of Social Sciences as well as one of the project’s chief investigators, stated how the painting could provide more information in regards to understanding the cultural history of Indigenous people, “This iconic kangaroo image is visually similar to rock paintings from islands in South East Asia dated to more than 40,000 years ago, suggesting a cultural link – and hinting at still older rock art in Australia.”

While the kangaroo image is incredibly important, it isn’t the oldest rock painting in the world as that title belongs to a 45,000-year-old painting of a wild pig that was discovered in Indonesia.

The researchers are now planning to date more wasp nests and analyze additional rock paintings to hopefully confirm when each art period started and finished. Pictures of the kangaroo painting and the rock shelter can be seen here.

“Set phasers to stun!”

From the very first episode and movie through today, Captain Kirk and other Star Trek officers dialed down their weapons to disable rather than disintegrate – at least until the opposition vaporized the first away crew member wearing a red shirt. These particle beam weapons could slice through ship hulls, but when used on humans, it was either stun or vaporize. The U.S. military (and all other militaries of major powers) have developed sonic weapons that stun, and laser weapons that can slice through metal. However, the ability to vaporize with a laser has been an elusive target – until now.

It’s not red, it’s salmon!

“While most CW lasers simply melt targets, USPL systems are able to neutralize threats via three distinct mechanisms: ablation of material from the target, the blinding of sensors through broadband supercontinuum generation in the air, and the generation of a localized electronic interference used to overload a threat’s internal electronics.”

A brief released recently by the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs – programs helping small businesses win Federal Research/Research and Development (R/R&D) projects – announced that the U.S Army is working with unnamed partners on weapons using Tactical Ultrashort Pulsed Lasers (USPL) rather than the conventional continuous beam lasers. USPL have the advantage of needing far less power, making them candidates for personal weapons like phasers. And, like phasers, USPL weapons will soon have the power of ablation – military-speak for vaporization.

“Differences in lethality as well as propagation mechanisms makes USPL technology one of particular interest for numerous mission sets. Over the last two decades, femtosecond lasers have gone from requiring dedicated buildings at national laboratories to sitting on academic optics tables across the country.”

A weapon that can sit on a table is one step away from fitting in a backpack, and two short hops from being fired like a rifle or hand weapon. As described in New Scientist, the new Tactical Ultrashort Pulsed Laser is being designed to reach a terawatt for a short 200 femtoseconds or one quadrillionth of a second. That’s enough time to vaporize a drone … or a human. It will also be designed to be dialed down to stun or disrupt electronic systems … or humans. Finally, it can be set in between those two strengths to vaporize just the outer skin or shell of a drone, leaving its electronics intact for analysis. Will it also turn humans into living (temporarily, at least) skeletons – like the Nazis in “Raiders of the Lost Ark”?

Will they learn to use stun, Mr. Spock?

While the Army plans to begin vaporizing stuff in 2022, it will probably start with a Tactical Ultrashort Pulsed Laser cannon similar to the starship-mounted phasers of Star Trek. However, the thrill of vaporizing will no doubt push soldiers to demand hand-held USPL weapons asap. That leaves one burning question: will U.S. commanders follow Captain Kirk and order their troops to “Set USPL’s to stun!” or let them vaporize away?

Do aliens sometimes come to us with benevolent intent? Lynne Plaskett has had quite a run of things. A former councilwoman of the Volusia County Council, as well as two terms as Vice Mayor for the city of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, she has had a successful career, considered to be an expert on planning and zoning issues and still very much involved with a number of community organizations including Habitat for Humanity, the Salvation Army, the Council on Aging, and the Department of the Interior. She seems like a bright, engaging and successful figure in her community, and she also just happens to have her share of inexplicable experiences, such as the time she claims aliens cured her of cancer.

In 1975, Plaskett went in for a routine physical examination at the doctor’s but came away with very grim news. She was told that she had carcinoma in her uterus and that she would likely require a hysterectomy. A biopsy was performed and it would turn out that this procedure would not be needed, but they also found that she had a rare T-cell lymphoma in her neck, and not only that, it was estimated she likely had only about three months to live, as the cancer had spread to invade her entire body. This was crushing news, as she had a son and family, and wasn’t sure how to break this news to them. At first she didn’t, instead just going home and crying inconsolably in her bedroom, which at that time was in Long Beach, California. However, it would turn out that she was not as alone in that room as she had first suspected.

As she sat there lost in her despondency and weeping uncontrollably, she allegedly heard a strange buzzing noise, which sounded mechanical in nature. Curious as to where this sound was coming from, she looked around the seemingly empty room and that was when she noticed a mist filling the area, as well as a small, disc shaped object. She would say of her bizarre experience:

I’m lying in bed, and I hear this electronic buzzing sound behind me like it’s emanating from the wall.  The room filled up with a fog-like smoke.  I was levitated off my bed, and a disk-like object about 8 inches in diameter came in, hovered over me and passed three times down the length of my body but never touched me. It was almost as if it was examining me. I know it wasn’t God. I know it wasn’t of this Earth. It was alien in nature. Everything went back the way it was. The smoke cleared, I was back on my bed and I went to sleep. When I woke up the next morning I knew I was going to be all right. I knew I wasn’t going to die.

She says that at first she didn’t remember anything after this, waking up in her bed the next morning without any memory of what had happened at all. According to her, she just assumed she had fell asleep as usual, and at the time she couldn’t even recall the strange fog or the mysterious disc. When she went to see her doctor for a check-up on the progress of her cancer, it was found to have decreased drastically, much to the shock of all present. The cancer would continue to dwindle in the coming months, until after four months it was in complete remission. The doctors couldn’t believe it, but extensive scans and work-ups all came to the conclusion that this woman, who had not been expected to live long at all, was now mysteriously cancer-free.

Plaskett at the time did not relate this to her strange encounter at her home, and indeed she didn’t even remember that at the time. It would not be until 1981 that the memory would come back, after watching a show on UFOs in which she heard the same distinct buzzing sound she had heard. This brought her memories racing back to the top of her mind, and she would find out later that her sister had actually come home at the time and heard the buzzing too, but had been too nervous about opening the door. Even after remembering what had happened, Plaskett would keep the experience to herself before deciding to come out with it on a segment of the “Maury Povich Show” in 1996, which also happened to coincide with a reelection campaign she was running for the Volusia County Council. Her alien claims made major headlines at the time, and ultimately costed her the reelection, although she would go on to win election to the New Smyrna Beach City Commission in 2003.

As to her story of aliens curing her of cancer, what are we to make of this? Was this some sort of misguided publicity stunt or is there anything to it all? Plaskett has given proof from medical records that she indeed was diagnosed with cancer in April of 1975, and in fact did experience a complete remission with four days, but this apparently happened after she had started chemotherapy, which perhaps takes some of the mysterious edge off of it all.  One skeptical oncologist by the name of Dr. Walter Durkin, has said of Plaskett’s remission:

Back then, we had reasonably good treatment for lymphoma. Lymphomas are very chemotherapeutically sensitive. Today, about 90 percent of lymphoma patients go into remission, and half are cured for good. Would a four-day turnaround seem unusual? No, Not at all. Cancer patients given little time to live often don’t know how to explain it if when they suddenly get better. They often fill that gap in their understanding with “recollections” of miracles or strange encounters. What she should be doing is encouraging people to get treatment because her doctor is the one who cured her.

So what are we dealing with here? Was this woman cured of cancer by aliens, and if so, why? Is this merely a publicity stunt or the rantings of a delusional mind? Is there something we are perhaps missing here? One thing that can be agreed upon is that Plaskett is a well respected former politician and member of the community, so would there be any reason for her to make any of this up? Is there a chance that she is mistaking her normal remission from cancer as something more mysterious? whatever the case may be, it certainly is an intriguing case, which remains unresolved.

UFO'S, Demons, Alchemy & The Military Industrial Complex

According to Manly P. Hall, author of “The Secret Teachings Of All Ages” an aspiring Black Magician will enter into a blood pack with a demon, in order to become proficient at the craft.  The demon agrees to become the servant of the Black Magician in this life, and the master of the Black Magician in the next.  

I believe the UFO phenomenon is the result of a similar type of blood pack.  However, before we unravel the relationship between the military industrial complex and the demonic realm, let’s first establish what demons are and where they come from. 

Demons are the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim, who were the hybrid giants killed in the flood. These abominations were the result of dark angels taking on human form and procreating with women. The result was a half human, half angel giant who wreaked havoc on the earth.  Nephilim are eternal beings. Although their mortal bodies died in the flood, the disembodied spirits exist today as fierce, terrestrial spirits known as demons, whose purpose is to torment and destroy. 

The Book of Enoch, Chapter 15, Verses 8-10 explains their origin, “Now the giants, who have been called upon earth evil spirits, shall proceed from their flesh, because they were created from above; from the holy watchers was their beginning and primary foundation. Evil spirits shall they be upon earth, and the spirits of the wicked shall they be called. The habitation of the spirits of heaven shall be in heaven; but upon earth shall be the habitation of terrestrial spirits, who are born on earth. The spirits of the giants shall be like clouds, which shall oppress, corrupt, fall, contend, and bruise upon earth. They shall cause lamentation. No food shall they eat; and they shall be thirsty; they shall be concealed, and shall not rise up against the sons of men, and against women; for they come forth during the days of slaughter and destruction.” 

Unlike angels, demons don’t possess a body, and therefore have an insatiable desire to inhabit a human.  For example, a demon of lust cannot effectively tempt a man to fornicate or commit adultery unless he has access to his mind and body.  

Which brings us to the ongoing relationship between demons and the military industrial complex.  I believe a blood pack between military black ops and demons has been in place for decades.  In exchange for the knowledge of interdimensional technology, military troops have volunteered to be possessed by these demons as the conduit for this revelation. In other words the demons agree to disclose the black magic of demonic technology in exchange for the souls of men. 

The phenomenon of UFO sightings is a third dimensional manifestation of alchemy. The ancient occultic science and black magic art of unifying matter and spirit. On a physical level, the process of burning off lead impurities transforms the matter of lead into gold via the legendary philosopher’s stone. Kabbalists believe Jacob’s Ladder to be a powerful alchemical vision, revealing super consciousness as Jacob laid his head upon the stone. This is the genesis of the philosopher’s stone.

In the Book of Enoch, Chapter 7, Verse 10 describes the beginning of alchemy. “Then they took wives, each choosing for himself; who they began to approach, and with whom they cohabited; teaching them sorcery, incantations, and the diving of root and trees.”

 Alchemy’s symbols include the signs of the zodiac, twin-coiled serpents, and the Freemasonic bronze pillars of Jachin and Boaz. Strategically positioned at the entrance of every Masonic temple, Jachin on the right signifies unity and wholeness while Boaz on the left points to the world of creation. These pillars are a satanic portals to Saturn. 

The occultic mystery of Gnosis/knowing is revealed in the spiritual ambition of every human to escape Samsara or the cycles of reincarnation. This spiritual journey begins with the discovery of the eye of the storm. Contained within that storm is the point. This is the highest symbol in Freemasonry. The Mandala encompasses the point. And Sanskrit represents the circle, symbolizing wholeness and the cycle of life. 

An alchemist’s great work is divided into several categories: chemical, psychological, physiological, societal, and astronomical. Alchemists work within three primes, or tria-prima. Watch as a glowing sphere is seen moving across the rooftops of apartment in Spain last week. The UFO is brightly lit and moving very slow as if its highly interested in the people inside the building. I know this is not a Chinese lantern, because I have seen lanterns many times before and they fly much higher than this and are 1.5 meters oval shaped. This is round. Also lanterns burn out after a minutes, this looks like it has no signs of turning off. This is a UFO.

UFOs in Mexico are frequently seen around the mountains and near the volcanos. Here we have not one, but two UFOs...flying near each other. At first I almost dismissed it as a balloon, but I have never seen a balloon this shape. Also the object seems to be moving quickly past the plane. To say this is a balloon would jumping to conclusions and clearly premature. With a more careful look at the video, I found that the object are actually matching speed with one another with one on top of the other. Many UFO reports have been recorded about one object suddenly become several objects. I believe this to be the case. When a pilot say he saw a UFO...I sure as hell believe them, because they have the years of experience flying and seeing things no-one else gets to see.

A person caught sight of an strange glowing sphere moving across the tree tops one night. The object can easily be seen and appears to be the size of a softball, but moving slowly, rising and lowering as its moving along. I am confident about the size, because at one point in the video (28-29sec) the UFO passes in front of a tall pole, which means its in front, not behind. There fore using the pole as a measure, this UFO is about the size of a soft ball. Same size as most cloud orbs. Fantastic catch.

Was This Microscopic Sphere Sent By Aliens To Seed Life On Earth?

“This seems never before to have been found on Earth”

When a planet harboring life is hit by a small traveling body such as an asteroid or comet, some of its microscopic life forms might get trapped inside ejected debris. Entering a dormant state, they could theoretically survive long journeys into outer space.

Should some of this debris collide with a planet that has the right conditions to sustain life, the microscopic travelers would once again become active. This way, a barren planet could be seeded with life.

Even if it might come as a surprise, this theory isn’t that far-fetched. Just last year, sea plankton was found on the outside of the International Space Station and no one knows how it got there.

Our own planet is home to some resilient microorganisms, known as extremophiles. As their name suggests, they can thrive in some of the most extreme conditions: near hydrothermal vents on the ocean bed, or in very acidic environments.

Experiments carried out by Japanese researchers showed that some species not only survive conditions of extreme gravity, they thrive in them. One species was subjected to 400,000 the gravity experienced on Earth and did just fine.

Some species of extremophiles survive temperatures well below freezing and they also survive high doses of radiation.

But the most important aspect is that scientists have found 40 million-year-old spores that were still viable. In short, they survive everywhere and for extremely long periods of time.

It would therefore be reasonable to assume they would survive an impact that destroyed their home planet, a cosmic journey and another impact that would deposit them onto another planet. Life on Earth could have well originated elsewhere in the universe.

And now the news.

A few years, a joint team of scientists from the University of Buckingham and the University of Sheffield discovered a tiny but very interesting object. They sent balloons to an altitude of 16 miles (27 kilometers) in order to collect samples of dust and particulate. One of them brought back something unexpected.

A tiny metal sphere about the width of a human hair had collided with the surface of the sampler connected to the balloon, leaving a minuscule crater. This suggests that it had been travelling at high speed. Professor Wainwright explains:

“On hitting the stratosphere sampler the sphere made an impact crater, a minute version of the huge impact crater on Earth caused by the asteroid said to have killed off the dinosaurs.

“This impact crater proves that the sphere was incoming to Earth from space, an organism from Earth would not be traveling fast enough when it fell back to earth to cause such a damage.”

X-ray analysis of the sphere showed that it was made of titanium with traces of vanadium. Titanium is one of the strongest metals known to man and it also has a high melting point. This led Wainwright and his team to believe that the sphere was fabricated and perhaps of extraterrestrial origin. Hold on, it gets weirder.

The surface of the sphere was covered in a “fungus-like knitted mat-like covering” and a biological liquid was “oozing from its center.” It is these organic compounds that have baffled the scientists. Although intriguing, their discovery is called into question by colleagues who believe it was contaminated by particles that originated on Earth.

The team are planning further analysis of the samples. They also hope their find will be corroborated by NASA’s own stratospheric balloon set to be launched in the near future. Should NASA find similar particles and establish they are of extraterrestrial origin, the scientific world would be forced to take into account the theory of panspermia.

Wainwright’s colleague, Professor Chandra Wickramasinghe, the director of the Buckingham Center for Astrobiology has been a proponent of this theory for a long time.

“Mainstream science and institutions have fought against theories which expound these beliefs but now evidence from meteorites, from samples of bacteria from space and from space observation is making resistance more difficult.

“Proving that the Earth is in a constant exchange of matter with the larger cosmos would have implications not only in terms of our identity, but could also give us insight into alien viruses which may be important for our group identity, evolution and survival itself,” he told the Daily Express.

Wainwright suspects the sphere might be evidence of directed panspermia, or the deliberate spreading of life throughout the universe. Before labeling him as “far off”, we should note that Francis Crick, Nobel Prize winner for the co-discovery of the structure of the DNA molecule shared similar views.

Humanity itself might start sending its own life capsules toward suitable worlds in the near future in order to secure and expand life in space. Even if it’s science fiction at the moment, sending a payload of hardy microbes attached to a solar sail could become scientific fact in less than a century.

But we might have unintentionally sent out microorganisms already. There’s no way of knowing for sure that no extremophiles hitched a ride with the rovers sent on Mars. Maybe they’re already multiplying and establishing colonies but that’s just speculation.

The directed panspermia hypothesis raises several legitimate questions. Was life deliberately planted on Earth? Was it sent by a sufficiently advanced civilization more than three-and-a-half billion years ago, when our planet was young and sterile? How would we answer this question?

Since the early 1980’s, some publications suggested that the deliberate seeding of life could be demonstrated if the genetic code of the first microorganisms on Earth would contain a “distinctive signature message”, like a calling card left by the engineers.

Until more evidence turns up, we’ll just have to wait and see which way the tiny, presumably alien sphere rolls.

NASA rover beams back first sounds ever recorded from the surface of Mars

"Imagine yourself sitting on the surface of Mars and listening to the surroundings," Gruel said Monday in a news briefing. "It's cool, really neat. Overwhelming, if you will."

Gruel added that the rover will continue to capture sounds from Mars as the Perseverance mission gets underway. "We're counting on both these instruments recording some really amazing sounds from the surface of Mars," he said.

The newly released video footage included views from several different cameras, including three at the top of the vehicle that recorded the spacecraft as it plummeted through the Martian atmosphere.

Two other cameras on the rover documented crucial stages of the descent: the spacecraft's parachute deploying, its protective back shell jettisoning, and a sky-crane lowering Perseverance to the ground. Another camera at the bottom of the rover captured stunning footage of Mars' desolate, rust-colored terrain right up until the rover's wheels touched down.

The videos offer a rare, first-person glimpse of what it's like to settle on the surface of another planet. As the Perseverance rover closes in on its landing site in Jezero Crater, the onboard cameras recorded spectacular shots of Mars' dune-filled, crater-marked vista.

"It is unlikely at this point in my career that I will pilot a spacecraft down to the surface of Mars, but when you see this imagery, I think you will feel like you are getting a glimpse into what it would be like to land successfully in Jezero Crater with Perseverance," said Matt Wallace, the Perseverance mission's deputy project manager at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

The Perseverance rover touched down on Mars on Feb. 18, successfully executing one of the trickiest landing maneuvers ever attempted in NASA's history.

Jessica Samuels, a systems engineer at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, said the rover is performing well so far. NASA will check the spacecraft's various instruments over the next few weeks and upload new flight software so that the rover can begin driving on the surface and collecting data.

The car-sized robotic explorer is designed to roam the Martian surface searching for signs of ancient microbial life. Over the course of its two-year expedition, the rover will also collect samples of Mars rocks and sediments that will be returned to Earth during subsequent missions.

The rover's landing site, Jezero Crater, is a 28-mile-wide basin that lies just north of the Martian equator. Scientists think the region was once home to an ancient river delta billions of years ago.

Gruel said mission controllers were thrilled by the first images beamed back by Perseverance. He said the rover captured more than 23,000 images, over 30 gigabytes of information, as it descended to the Martian surface.

"People were jumping up and down and giddy and ecstatic," Gruel said. "It was a great feeling."

And this early bounty from Perseverance is just a preview of what could be in store, Zurbuchen said.

"Stay with us," he said. "There is much more amazement to come."

Since the 1980s, sightings of large, triangular-shaped UFOs, usually described as being black in color, making a low humming noise, and very often with rounded rather than angled corners, have been reported throughout the world. The sheer proliferation of such reports has led some ufological commentators to strongly suspect that the Flying Triangles (as they have come to be known) are prime examples of still-classified aircraft, the development of which was secretly begun in the 1980s by elements of the U.S. Department of Defense. Largely, UFO researchers are split into two camps: that the Flying Triangles are the creations of the American military or that they were flown by extraterrestrials. There is, however, another theory for all of this mystery. We’ll get to that shortly.

In 1982 a wave of encounters with the Flying Triangles began over portions of New York State, specifically in Hudson Valley. In their 1988 book, Night Siege, authors Dr. J. Allen Hynek, Philip J. Imbrogno and Bob Pratt wrote: “Can 7,000 eyewitnesses be wrong? They were there to witness the huge, hovering object in the sky, the flashing lights, the eerie silence. They are ordinary people from all walks of life: stay-at-home moms, kids, business people, engineers. They tell their stories here, and they all agree on one thing: they saw the same massive object cruising over their backyards. And it was like nothing they had seen before…”

In 1989, Chris Gibson had what can accurately be termed the encounter of a lifetime. An engineer with an Honors degree in geology and someone who’s worked focused on oil-exploration, Gibson was also attached to the U.K.’s Royal Observer Corps. The work of the ROC – which closed down in December 1995, after seventy years of work to help protect the United Kingdom from attack – required its volunteers to keep a careful watch on the skies above and what was flying in those same skies, too.  As luck – or fate – would have it, and at the time when the Aurora program may very well have been compromised, Gibson was working on an oil rig in the North Sea. The name of the rig was the Galveston Key.

It was August 1989, specifically, when one of Gibson’s colleagues, a friend named Graeme Winton, who went to university with Gibson, excitedly told Gibson to come with him to the deck. There was something Winton needed to show him. A startled and amazed Gibson caught sight of something incredible in the skies above. A pair of General Dynamics’ F1-11 aircraft were shepherding a very strange-looking, completely black aircraft. And, a Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker seemed to be fueling it. It was in the form of a triangle. Now, we get to a fascinating theory for the origins and natures of the Flying Triangles.

The late Omar Fowler, an English UFO expert who died in 2017, had a theory that the Flying Triangles just might be nothing less than the aerial vehicles of time travelers. Fowler had a good reason for that. On one occasion, in September 1992, over a large area of woodland in central England called the Cannock Chase, Omar secured a piece of testimony from a man named Alan Ball. He agreed to meet Ball on the Cannock Chase one morning. Incredibly, Ball claimed that he was taken on-board a huge, black, Flying Triangle late one night – and while he was driving home – when he was “beamed into” the craft and subjected to a series of medical experiments by three small, humanoid figures in what “looked like a medical lab.”

Ten or fifteen minutes into the experimentation, Ball claimed that his mind was flooded by images of the U.K., in ruins. It was a definitive Armageddon: buildings, in all directions, were destroyed; charred human bodies lay everywhere; and it was clear that a nuclear event occurred. And the assumption was that the event was not alone. That the U.K. – and possible everywhere else – had been destroyed. After having the terrifying vision, Ball was dropped off the craft – literally, from a door about five feet above the woods. Ball was in a state of terror – and for several days. Particularly of interest is the fact that Fowler had in his files two extremely similar cases – and also at the Cannock Chase woods – of people taken onto Flying Triangles and exposed to images in their minds of a massive apocalypse in the future. Fowler was still open on the idea that the Flying Triangles could be extraterrestrial in nature. However, he wasn’t able to shake off the disturbing possibility the craft were piloted by time travelers, and that what Ball and the two other people were seeing was a future still to come – and that all three victims had been taken to the future and then returned to in 1992. Op dit moment is er nog geen officiële reactie van instanties in Amerika, maar het is heel onwaarschijnlijk dat het hier een militair object betrof. Althans een object waarvan wij het bestaan mogen weten.

Er zijn daar wel diverse militaire bases in de buurt zoals White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), maar als daar bepaalde raketten zouden zijn afgevuurd, dan was zeker de burgerluchtvaart gewaarschuwd, hetgeen niet het geval is. Ook zijn er op andere manieren geen militaire activiteiten in het gebied vastgesteld, zoals via het zogenaamde ADS-B log.

Opmerkelijk is natuurlijk dat deze ontmoeting plaatsvindt boven New Mexico, niet al te ver van misschien wel de meest beroemde ufo plek op aarde, Roswell.

60 Year Mission: What We’ve Learned So Far About Mars

Over the past 60 years, both the United States and the USSR have launched various missions to observe and explore the planet Mars. These have included fly-by missions by spacecraft, and also landers and rovers sent from Earth. In recent years, ground missions by NASA have yielded an incredible trove of knowledge about the Martian system.

The Mars Helicopter is Online and Getting Ready to Fly

Earth is the only planet in the solar system with aircraft capable of sustained flight. Suppose the ground-breaking Ingenuity helicopter, currently stowed aboard the similarly spectacular Mars Perseverance rover, accomplishes its planned mission. In that case, Mars will become the second planet to have a powered aircraft fly through its atmosphere. 

Ingenuity has sent its first status report since landing on Mars. The signal, which arrived via the iconic Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO), reports on the state of the batteries of the helicopter as well as the operation of the base station, which, among other things, operates the critically important heaters that keep the electronics within an acceptable temperature range. Thankfully, it’s all good news for now, with the batteries and base station operating as expected. 

While Ingenuity still hasn’t performed a flight yet (hopefully, this becomes an outdated statement soon), the helicopter has already overcome some daunting challenges. Perhaps the most perilous portion of Ingenuity’s journey was the interplanetary trip from Earth to Mars as part of the larger Perseverance rover mission. Launched in July of 2020, Perseverance touched down at Jezero Crater on Mars on February 18th. A new high-resolution video of the spectacular sky-crane landing of Perseverance was released by NASA earlier today and is mind-blowing all on its own. 

It is easy to overlook how challenging landing on Mars is. The alarming fact of the matter is that only about half of Mars missions have made it successfully! One of the main reasons for this is the density of the Martian atmosphere. Thankfully, riding strapped to the belly of the rover, Ingenuity survived the perilous descent from space. 

One of the most significant obstacles for landing on Mars will continue to present problems for our heroic helicopter now that it is safely on the surface. The atmospheric pressure on the surface of Mars is only about 1% that of Earth. To put that in perspective, the summit of Mount Everest has only one-third the atmospheric pressure of sea level. While this is thought to be at (or sadly in some cases beyond) the limit of what humans can survive, it is well beyond Earthbound helicopters’ range. If you’ve ever wondered why wealthy explorer-types don’t just cheat and take a helicopter to the summit of Everest, that’s why!

Compared to Mars, the air on Everest might as well be pea soup. The ridiculously rarefied air on Mars makes helicopter flight extraordinarily challenging. Ingenuity will spin its two counter-rotating rotors five times faster than Earthly helicopters, about forty times per second. Ingenuity is also light, only about 1.8 kilograms. The rotors are about 1.2 meters in diameter and are relatively oversized to maximize lift. 

Mars does give Ingenuity a break in one area, thankfully. Mars has only about one-third of the surface gravity of the Earth. If you were to hold the aircraft while standing on the Earth, it would feel roughly as heavy as a two-liter bottle (with a couple of sips taken out for luck). On Mars, the exact same aircraft would feel like a 20 oz bottle (591 milliliters). 

The helicopter does not play a critical role in the science mission of Perseverance. It is essentially a technological demonstration or proof-of-concept, and data collected from Ingenuity will be used in engineering future Martian aircraft. It is solar-powered and features electronics that have been miniaturized to keep everything light enough for flight. 

Ingenuity is also fully autonomous. Due to the extreme distance of Mars, the helicopter mission controllers can’t fly the aircraft in realtime the way Earthly drone-pilots can use joysticks to maneuver at home. The time it takes for a signal to travel from Earth to Mars is longer than the helicopter’s entire flight-time! Imagine if you were driving a car (on a closed course in your imagination only), and when you turned the wheel, the car ran out of gas before it registered your input! 

If Ingenuity successfully demonstrates powered aerodynamic flight on Mars, it will be a milestone unlike any that has come before. One can only imagine the impact that flying Mars explorers could have on future missions. A future helicopter could be partnered with a larger rover and act as a scout, carefully surveying the terrain and helping the parent rover more efficiently plot a safe and scientifically interesting course. Perhaps a helicopter could pick up samples from a wide area and deliver them to a rover or stationary facility with highly sophisticated scientific instrumentation. Even a standalone helicopter mission could be conceived. There are plenty of cliffs, ice caps, volcanoes, or otherwise inaccessible parts of the Martian landscape that are likely permanently beyond the reach of ground-based rovers or even humans.

The coming weeks will be one of the most exciting periods for fans of space exploration, aviation, or anybody who is stirred by extraordinary accomplishments in engineering and, of course, the ingenuity of the brilliant scientists and engineers that built Ingenuity.

There’s Evidence That Mars Once Had an Atmosphere With Less Oxygen. A Possible Biosignature For Life?

Remote sensing is only useful if scientists have an idea of what they are looking at.  That knowledge is especially important for remote sensing applications on other planets, such as Mars, where it is extraordinarily difficult to collect information about an observed object in any other way.  To make up for the lack of ability to perform other tests in situ, scientists set up laboratory experiments with different environments and materials and compare the remote sensing data with the observed remote objects. 

That is exactly what Jiacheng Liu, a doctoral student at the University of Hong Kong, did with remote sensing data from the surface of Mars.  What he found gave new weight to a novel theory – that Mars didn’t used to have a significant amount of oxygen in its atmosphere.  The fact that it does now prompts the question of where all the oxygen that exists in the atmosphere today came from.  One possible answer is the same place it came from on Earth – photosynthetic life.

Mars is commonly called the “red planet” because most of its surface is covered in iron oxide, commonly referred to as rust, which has a red hue.  Not all parts of the planets are red though – there are some volcanic rocks that do not contain much iron, and are therefore not subject to the oxidizing reaction that blankets so much of the rest of the planet.  

Those same volcanic rocks are also insightful windows into the atmospheric chemistry of Mars that isn’t affected by oxygen. Dr. Liu discovered that the evolution of basalt and other minerals found on Hainan Island in Southwest China were good proxies for the exposed volcanic rock found on Mars.

Importantly, that exposed rock on Mars was old, and would have last interacted with the Martian atmosphere billions of years ago.  Its structure showed that it was last exposed to an environment that did not contain much oxygen, as the iron contained in the rocks was not yet oxidized.

Such a low oxygen environment was present on Earth as well billions of years ago.  Then, approximately 2.5 billion years ago, a switch to an oxygen-rich atmosphere took place called the Great Oxidation Event.  Scientists believe the impetus for this transition was multicellular life performing photosynthesis and replenishing oxygen in the atmosphere, as it was also being captured in iron oxide as well.

So far, there has been no such explanation for what caused Mars’ atmosphere to gain so much oxygen.  There are non-biological processes that could be responsible for such a transition. But it does open the tantalizing possibility that, long ago, when Mars was warmer and wetter, it underwent an explosion of life that caused it’s atmosphere to change to what it is today.  As with so much other science, more data is needed though, as “extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence”.

Scientists Now Testing Fuel for Giant New Fusion Reactor

To pull off fusion power, scientists are going to need exactly the right fuel.

The concept is simple, with plasma of both isotopes combining in order to release heat. The heat is the result of helium being produced, bringing temperatures inside the reactor up to 100 million degrees, several times hotter than the Sun’s core. This additional heat then sustains further fusion reactions, as Nature explains.

At least that’s the theory. No fusion reactor has yet managed to produce more energy out of these cascading reactions than what it took to start them.

JET’s initial goals aren’t quite that ambitious as it gears up to find the right fuel mix for the much bigger version at ITER. The researchers are hoping to sustain reactions for at least five seconds to collect all the data they need about how tritium behaves.

“What we are after is physics information that we can use to validate our understanding, and then we can apply that to preparing the future machine,” Joelle Mailloux, co-lead of the experiment at JET, told Nature.

Making matters even more complicated is the fact that bombarding neutrons created by the mixing of tritium and deuterium will make the inner facility quite radioactive. So radioactive, in fact, that humans won’t be able to safely step foot inside for at least 18 months. That means it will have to work the first time.

For now, fusion energy remains an extremely elusive form of generating power. While there is considerably more weight behind efforts to make it a reality than there just ten years ago, on the small startup and international scale alike, practical fusion power has yet to materialize.

But once realized, it could represent an entirely new form of virtually limitless energy — minus the risk of a nuclear meltdown.

Berwyn UFO Incident: Another Flying Saucer Crash Story

The Berwyn UFO or Berwyn Mountain Incident, similar with Rendlesham Forest incident also known as the ‘Welsh Roswell’ is one of the world famous and well-known British UFO crash story to date, which took place in Wales in January 1974.

At that time, there was a huge bang and a brilliant light over the Berwyn Mountains in north east Wales. It was considered possible that an aircraft had crashed, or a meteorite had impacted.

The Ministry of Defence investigation found that there were five other reports of UFOs seen over the United Kingdom on 23 January 1974, when the Berwyn Mountains incident happened.

Three sightings were in the Home Counties, one in Lincolnshire and another in Sussex. However a Ministry of Defence (MoD) investigation insisted there was no UFO.

At 8.30 p.m. on January 23, 1974, a large disc-like object was seen to fall from the skies over Clwyd in Wales. Dozens of witnesses across Lancashire and Cheshire had phoned the police earlier that evening after seeing a strange formation of green lights flying erratically over the skies of the north-west.

At exactly 8.38 p.m., something impacted into the Berwyn Mountains in Clwyd, and the resulting tremor, which measured 3.5 (other source said 4.5) on the Richter Scale, was also felt in Wrexham, Chester, Liverpool, Southport, and even in some areas of Greater Manchester.

Police immediately converged on the Berwyn Mountains, expecting to find a crashed passenger jet, but just what they did find has never been divulged.

A convoy of army trucks passed through Chester that night and made their way to the epicentre of the crash site, then the army threw a cordon around the area. Even the police and crash investigators were warned off. Also, there were reports that the villages in the vicinity were visited by ‘Men in Black’.

A nurse who lived near the scene of the impact told a local newspaper that a flying saucer ‘the size of the Albert Hall’ had smashed into a mountain, throwing debris and bodies for over a mile.

She said she walked up to one of the bodies, and realized it wasn’t human, but before she could describe what she had seen, the military intervened, and two Ministry of Defence officials ordered her to remain silent about the UFO because her comments ‘would constitute a threat to national security and the defence of the realm’.

That nurse has never been seen in the area since, and the news reporter who visited the scene of the alleged crash refused to talk about the incident up until his death in 1979.

In 1980, an electronics engineer named Arthur Adams, who had worked on Concorde, visited the Berwyn UFO crash-site and found strange green coloured pieces of metal embedded in the rocks there.

He took samples of the metal to his laboratory and discovered that a sample the size of a 1-inch cube gave off two kilowatts of electricity, when wired up to a volt meter.

Mr. Adams contacted the Daily Express, and they published a series of articles about the strange find, but the Ministry of Defence stepped in and killed the story.

It was later alleged by “the UFO community” that a UFO crashed, that non-human (extra-terrestrial) bodies were found there and that the British Government covered up the event.

Today, no one knows what crashed in the Welsh Mountains on that winter night in 1974; some think it was an experimental man-made top-secret military aircraft possibly a prototype Stealth bomber; others think it was an alien craft from another world, while skeptic people think it only meteorites.

Scientists Suggest Aliens May Look Like Humans

Scientists from Oxford, based on the well-known evolutionary theory, made an assumption about the possible appearance of representatives of alien civilizations and their behavior. This was reported on the pages of the International Journal of Astrobiology.

According to researchers, aliens can get a humanoid appearance through a known process, such as natural selection. Their theory is based on the argument that the strongest form of life survives.

One of the authors of the study in Oxford, Sam Levine, said that the scientists in their study relied on an alternative approach to hypothetical astrobiology.

In other words, they applied evolutionary theory to simulate life in extraterrestrial conditions. The expert calls this a very useful approach, since similar models can also be applied to silicon life forms that do not have DNA or breathe nitrogen.

Thanks to the theory of extraterrestrial natural selection, researchers have created a model of extraterrestrial evolution and studied the possibility of complex life forms on distant exoplanets.

As a result of the study, scientists have come to the conclusion that alien life forms, as well as terrestrial ones, will survive several basic periods, and eventually take on a human form.

Operation Paperclip: When U.S. Brought Nazi Scientists To America

Over seventy years ago, shortly after the end of World War II, Allied intelligence agencies launched a concerted treasure hunt for German military and scientific inventions, including rocket and jet-engine technology.

Both sides in the coming cold war benefited greatly by picking through the ruins of Adolf Hitler’s war machine, but the U.S. War Department’s Joint Intelligence Objectives Agency (JIOA) scored a particular triumph with a covert operation known as Project Paperclip, authorized by President Harry Truman in September 1945.

Its aim was simple: “To exploit German scientists for American research and to deny these intellectual resources to the Soviet Union.”

The range of Germany’s technical achievement astounded Allied scientific intelligence experts accompanying the invading forces in 1945 such as: Supersonic rockets, nerve gas, jet aircraft, guided missiles, stealth technology and hardened armour were just some of the groundbreaking technologies developed in Nazi laboratories, workshops and factories.

Even though the JIOA’s recruitment of German scientists began in Europe on 8 May 1945 after the Allied victory, President Harry Truman did not formally order the execution of Operation Paperclip until August 1945.

President Truman’s original order specifically barred recruitment of anyone found “to have been a member of the Nazi party and more than a nominal participant in its activities, or an active supporter of Nazism or militarism”.

Those restrictions would have rendered ineligible most of the leading scientists the JIOA had identified for recruitment, among them rocket scientists Wernher von Braun, Kurt H. Debus and Arthur Rudolph, and the physician Hubertus Strughold, each earlier classified as a “menace to the security of the Allied Forces”.

Samuel Klaus, the State Department’s JIOA representative, complained that many of the scientists enlisted were “ardent Nazis,” but JIOA Director Bosquet Wev overruled that protest, declaring that “the best interests of the United States have been subjugated to the efforts expended in ‘beating a dead Nazi horse.’”

Furthermore, Wev cautioned, Soviet (Russia) posed a “far greater security threat to this country than any former Nazi affiliations which they may have had or even any Nazi sympathies that they may still have.”

Nazi’s imported scientists under Project Paperclip included:

• Arthur Rudolph, director of the Mittelwerk factory at Dora-Nordhausen concentration camp, where 20,000 slave laborers died. A National Socialist since 1931, Rudolph was described in Allied files as “100% Nazi, dangerous type, security threat… Suggest internment.”

The JIOA found “nothing in his records indicating that he was a war criminal or an ardent Nazi or otherwise objectionable.” Rudolph became a U.S. citizen, designed the rocket used in the Apollo Project moon landings—and fled to West Germany in 1984 when his record of war crimes was reopened.

• Werner von Braun, Hitler’s technical director at the Peenemunde rocket research center from 1937 to 1945 and developer of the deadly V-2 rocket. He later worked on guided missiles for the U.S. Army, served as director of NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, and became a national celebrity in the 1960s as one of Walt Disney’s “World of Tomorrow” experts. In the 1970s he served as associate director of National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
• Kurt Blome, another Nazi scientist who admitted experimenting on concentration-camp inmates with plague bacilli. Blome was acquitted of war crimes at Nuremberg in 1947 (although most observers accepted the fact of his guilt). Two months after that acquittal Blome was in Maryland, consulting with the U.S. military on germ warfare. The U.S. Army Chemical Corps hired him in 1951 to continue his life’s work and passion.
• Walter Schreiber, a Nazi major general who, according to Nuremberg testimony, “assigned doctors to experiment on concentration camp prisoners and had made funds available for such experimentation.” Only Schreiber’s detention in Russia (1945–48) spared him from trial as a war criminal.

He next surfaced at the Air Force School of Medicine at Randolph Field, Texas. Columnist Drew Pearson revealed Schreiber’s crimes in 1952, whereupon the U.S. government arranged passage for Schreiber to join his daughter in Argentina.

• Hermann Becker-Freysing, convicted and sentenced to 20 years imprisonment at Nuremberg for conducting experiments on Dachau inmates, including force-feeding of seawater that was chemically treated to make it “drinkable.” Even before his trial Becker-Freysing was paid by the U.S. Air Force to report on his sadistic experiments.
• Siegfried Ruff, a codefendant with Becker- Freysing at the Nuremberg “Doctor’s Trial,” where he narrowly escaped conviction on charges of killing 80 inmates in a low-pressure chamber designed to simulate altitudes above 60,000 feet. Like Becker-Freysing, Ruff was sought (and paid) by the U.S. Air Force in the interests of “national security.”
• Reinhard Gehlen, while not a scientist, was one of the THIRD REICH’s top intelligence officers who were linked to the torture and murder of countless victims. The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) recruited him in 1950 to coordinate its secret war against Communism in Europe.
• Klaus Barbie, the Nazi “Butcher of Lyon” and another prized CIA intelligence asset, whose association with the U.S. intelligence service spared him trial and execution for war crimes.

By 1955 more than 760 German scientists were granted U.S. citizenship, their dossiers “sanitized” to remove any taint of active involvement with Hitler’s genocidal regime.

A 1985 exposé in the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists revealed that author Linda Hunt had secured more than 130 files on Project Paperclip immigrants and that she found that everyone “had been changed to eliminate the security threat classification.”

Some conspiracy theories supporters maintain that the postwar scientific looting of Germany also included secrets concerning UFOs (anti-gravity technology) which remain classified to this day.

There is a reason Perseverance landed where it did, and that reason goes back at least 3.5 billion years.

Early Mars is thought to have been Earthlike before solar radiation and cosmic other forces killed its atmosphere. This explains why the rover that has now gone viral in the Twitterverse and just about everywhere else touched down in Jezero Crater, which is thought to have once been a huge lake that could have also been crawling with microbial life. Scientists have now found evidence that Mars went through the same phase as Earth before both planets got their atmospheres — something that has not been proven until now.

“Reduced greenhouse gases such as methane (CH4) and hydrogen (H2) might be the only tenable solution to explain warming of the ancient Martian climate, but direct geological evidence that a reduced atmosphere actually existed on Mars has been lacking,” said Jiancheng Liu, who led a study recently published in Nature Astronomy.

The timing for this discovery was right on. Perseverance has started searching the Red Planet for any potential signs of life, and that life — if it was anything like like as we know it — would have required an atmosphere. But wait. Before you can figure out around when Mars started get an atmosphere, and what it was like with an atmosphere (kind of hard to imagine looking at what is now a space desert), you have to back up further to before it even had an oxidized atmosphere. There is a time that things didn’t rust on Earth or Mars because there was not enough oxygen in the atmosphere to interact with substances rich in iron.

Instead of an oxidized atmosphere, both Earth and Mars once had a reduced atmosphere. This is not the same as the massive reduction in atmosphere the Red Planet experienced after most of its atmosphere was decimated by solar winds and other cosmic forces. A reduced atmosphere is made up of mostly reduced gases like methane, ammonia, and hydrogen sulfide, which are hydrogen-rich rather than oxygen-rich. Humans would not have been able to handle breathing in this poison. However, there are microorganisms that are fueled by methane right here on our planet, so it wouldn’t be impossible for Mars.

What made Mars habitable once was its own greenhouse effect. While greenhouse gases have been demonized on Earth because too much carbon dioxide and other types have been released into the atmosphere from human pollution, the right amount of these atmospheric gases is necessary to warming up a planet just enough so life-forms can thrive.

Previous studies had assumed that on Mars, this phenomenon happened with reduced gases instead of CO2, meaning the planet must have had a reduced atmosphere. Evidence of this was finally found by Liu and his team when they investigated spacecraft data of weathered Martian rocks that showed signs of having been exposed to such an atmosphere.

“The separation of Fe from Al in Martian palaeosols, which is comparable to trends observed in palaeosols before the Great Oxidation Event on Earth, suggests that the ancient Martian surface was chemically weathered under a reducing greenhouse atmosphere,” Liu said.

An orbiting spacecraft remotely examined rocks on the surface of Mars. This spacecraft was equipped with an instrument capable of infrared spectroscopy, which revealed the chemistry of these primordial rocks. When infrared light hits a target, it interacts with the molecules that make up that object. How the object in question absorbs, reflects or emits this light can give away what its chemical composition is like. What the researchers wanted to know was the composition of the paleosols on Mars, soils that formed eons ago and are physical and chemically unrelated to soils that formed more recently. This is how they identified a chemical sign of weathering caused by a reduced atmosphere.

Mars later underwent an oxidation event much the Earth’s Great Oxidation Event on Earth, though during a different time and possibly for different reasons. Earth’s atmosphere became oxidized because of oxygen was a by-product of processes like photosynthesis in early organisms. Proving that Mars had a reduced atmosphere before its oxidation event happened could mean life was somehow involved in the shift.

As Perseverence surveys Jezero Crater, it may find more to support this discovery ,and maybe even a fossilized microbe.

It's possible that the story of the Men in Black, the mysterious figures that would become the subject of fascination in UFO conspiracy circles and eventually break into mainstream popular culture, can be traced back to one day: June 27, 1947. It's quite possible that it all started with a man, a boy and a dog on a boat.

As the story goes, Harold Dahl was on a conservation mission on the Puget Sound near the eastern shore of Washington’s Maury Island, gathering logs, when he saw six donut-shaped obstacles hovering about a half a mile above his boat. Before long, one of them fell nearly 1,500 feet, followed by raining, metallic debris, some of which hit Dahl’s son, Charles, on his arm, as well as the family dog, who didn’t survive the ordeal. Dahl was able to take some pictures of the aircraft with his camera, which he later showed to his supervisor, Fred Crisman. A skeptical Crisman went back to the scene to look for himself and saw a strange aircraft with his own eyes.

The following morning, Dahl was visited by a man in a black suit. They end up at a local diner, where the man was able to recount in extraordinary detail what Dahl had just experienced. “What I have said is proof to you that I know a great deal more about this experience of yours than you will want to believe,” the man said, according to author Gray Barker’s 1956 book They Knew Too Much About Flying Saucers.

Dahl was told not to speak of the incident. If he did, bad things would happen.

The supposed events of Maury Island have continued to fuel conspiracy theories to this day, even though a U.S. government investigation deemed it a hoax after Dahl and Crimson later admitted as much. In particular, the mention of the man in the black suit would evolve into a key obsession for UFO enthusiasts and spread into American popular culture, thanks to a comic-book series and a blockbuster movie trilogy.

In all of their different incarnations, the Men in Black (MIB) usually have one main purpose: to muzzle witnesses of strange, paranormal phenomena. They almost always wear black suits and hats with dark sunglasses, drive black cars and arrive in groups of two or three. Some describe them as one would an FBI agent, while others recall the MIB as having strange appearances, sometimes with supernatural features like glowing eyes and strange complexions.

So how did we get from Harold Dahl to Will Smith?

"The transformation of the story from a first press report to a folkloric tale to a comic book and now to a film illustrates how the myth is transformed,” wrote Phil Patton in The New York Times around the time the first Men in Black movie was released in 1997. “That process is not unlike the children's game of 'telephone' or what the literary critic Harold Bloom calls 'innovation by misinterpretation.' "

Sticking with the telephone analogy, the first call was made to Kenneth Arnold, a pilot who had his own alleged UFO sighting on June 24, 1947 near Mt. Rainier, Washington. Though it happened three days after the Maury Island incident, it was the first widely reported sighting and it “touched off the saucer sensation,” as was written in a 1949 government report on “Flying Saucers.”

The report states that Dahl and Crimson reached out to a Chicago magazine in an attempt to sell their story, and the magazine editor then contacted Arnold, hoping he could help verify their account. Arnold then “summoned two officers of Army A-2 Intelligence to aid in the investigation of Dahl and Crisman's claim,” according to the report.

In July 1947, two Army A-2 Intelligence officers came to investigate. After leaving in their B-25 the next day, the plane caught fire and crashed, killing both officers and doing nothing to quiet UFO conspiracists.

But the Maury Island story gained little notice in the UFO community until Barker’s 1956 book, in which he wrote of his “file on the Maury Island case” that largely consisted of the writings by Ray Palmer, the Chicago magazine editor referred to in the government’s report. Barker went on to connect the dots between “the man, who wore a black suit” who took Dahl to breakfast and three similarly dressed men who allegedly visited a young UFO enthusiast named Albert K. Bender in 1953.

It was Bender who “almost single-handedly ushered in the plague of the Men in Black—just as Arnold inaugurated the era of the UFO,” Ufologist Nick Redfern wrote in his book The Real Men in Black. But it was Barker’s book that told Bender’s story, thus introducing the concept of the MIB to a much wider audience.

“It still has an important legacy,” said Robert Sheaffer, a UFO researcher. “Before its publication, nobody outside a very narrow group of subscribers to flying-saucer newsletters had ever heard of Bender, or his MIB.”

Barker described Bender’s visitors as: “Three men in black suits with threatening expressions on their faces. Three men who walk in on you and make certain demands. Three men who know that you know what the saucers really are!”

Bender, in his own 1962 book Flying Saucers and the Three Men, described the MIB in much more frightening language.

“They floated about a foot off the floor… They looked like clergymen, but wore hats similar to Homburg style. The faces were not clearly discernible, for the hats partly hid and shaded them… The eyes of all three figures suddenly lit up like flashlight bulbs… They seemed to burn into my very soul as the pains above my eyes became almost unbearable,” wrote Bender.

Barker would go on to write several more books related to the paranormal and UFOs, including 1970’s The Silver Bridge, which helped spread the story of another popular paranormal figure, the creature known as Mothman. But how much of his writing was done in good faith has been called into question by many in the UFO-research community.

“Barker made it clear to me that he did not take the MIB or Mothman very seriously,” says Sheaffer, who corresponded with Barker on occasion. “However, he believed that there was still 'something mysterious' about the whole UFO and paranormal thing.”

Regardless of Barker’s motives, countless MIB encounters have been reported since They Knew Too Much was published nearly 60 years ago, and at least one more movie is on the way.

Australia’s oldest cave painting is 17,000-year-old kangaroo art

I mean, what else could it be?

Dating rock art is really hard. Aboriginal art uses iron oxide pigments and no organic material — which means any radiocarbon analysis isn’t possible. So instead, Finch got creative (and a bit lucky). He found that some of the rocks nearby contained the remains of ancient wasp nests, which can be carbon dated. He found these mud wasp remains both under and above the painted surfaces — so by dating both of these, he could pincer in on the age of the art.

It’s not the first time the method has been used, Finch says. It was used as early as 1997 when pollen extracted from a wasp nest (not over rock art) was dated, but it was less than 2,000, the researcher says. Now, researchers have adapted the technique and made it more reliable, even for small wasp remnants.

“By studying wasps building nests and then analyzing modern nests back in the laboratory, we determined that they frequently contained charcoal fragments. So we concentrated on methods to date charcoal rather than pollen which was less abundant. Radiocarbon dating has been used to date charcoal for more than 50 years and has been the mainstay of archaeological dating. Our radiocarbon dates on wasp nests built on top of paintings tell us that the painting must be older than the age of the nest. Similarly, if the nest is underneath the painting the age of the nest provides a maximum age for the painting.”

Overall, they found 27 such remains above and below 16 rock paintings. The paintings include a snake, a lizard-like figure, and three macropods (a family of marsupials including kangaroos, wallabies, and quokkas). However, one painting of a kangaroo (or a kangaroo-like creature) was dated to between 17,500–17,100 years ago, making it the oldest dated painted figure in Australia to date.

Unfortunately, however, not much is known about the people who created this art. Not much archaeological information has been retrieved, but Finch hopes we can learn something from this art.

“I don’t know that we can say too much about a culture as it was 17,000 years ago. We struggle to understand the culture at the time of the pyramids and that was only 5,000 years ago.  But now, for the first time, we can combine what we see in the paintings with what we know about the environment as it existed at the same time, around the end of the Last Ice Age. Science can tell us about the prevailing climate and sea-levels as well as the plants and animals available at that time.  I am sure future researchers will draw these threads together with what we now know about the age of the rock art to come up with further insights about the lives of these ancient people,” Finch tells ZME Science.

The kangaroo is unlikely to be Australia’s oldest painting — it’s only the oldest one we’ve found so far. Considering that humans reached Australia some 65,000 years ago, the chances are more ancient art is just waiting to be discovered.

In the meantime, this is a sobering reminder of how much we’ve yet to learn about these ancient peoples. Bit by bit, Finch hopes to fill in the gaps.

“It was surprising just how few records existed and how little was known about them in the non-indigenous community. Through our research, we aim to improve this situation.”

Remember Dolly the sheep? On July 5, 1996, Dolly became the first mammal ever born via cloning – it was created using a mammary cell from sheep and the DNA from another, and carried to term by a third. Twenty-five years later, more mammals have been successfully cloned – including monkeys, pigs, cattle, wolves, dogs, cats and others. And humans? Ethics aside, while no one has publicly admitted to it, the possibility is there. However, the most interest recently has been in using cloning to de-extinct extinct mammals whose DNA can be obtained from frozen or preserved carcasses and carried by a similar species. Wooly mammoths and Tasmanian tigers seem to be likely candidates for this, but it hasn’t happened yet. However, the next best thing has. A black-footed ferret – a mammal on the brink of extinction — has been successfully cloned. Is this good or bad news? Is cloning a better solution to preventing extinction than changing the environment to allow the species to repopulate itself? Will this be the ethical debate that finally produces a human clone?

“In November, ViaGen used the 32-year-old Willa cell line to develop cloned embryos. These were implanted into a domestic surrogate mother. Mid gestation, when the pregnancy was deemed safe, the mother was transferred to the National Black-footed Ferret Conservation Center. On December 10th, “Elizabeth Ann” became the first successfully cloned Black-footed ferret to be born. She is also the first endangered species native to the US to be cloned.”

This week, Revive & Restore – a “wildlife conservation organization promoting the incorporation of biotechnologies into standard conservation practice” – announced the birth of the first cloned black-footed ferret and the successful growth and development of “Elizabeth Ann.” She is the clone of a ferret named Willa who died in 1988 and was frozen because the black-footed ferret was believed to be nearly extinct – wiped out by the poisoning of prairie dogs, their primary source of food. That changed in 1981 when a dog brought a recently-killed specimen to its owner in Wyoming. The surviving group was found, but it nearly became extinct because of canine distemper and sylvatic plague, so the Fish and Wildlife Service captured the remaining 18 ferrets. Unfortunately, they lacked the genetic diversity to save the species.

Enter the late, frozen Willa and Revive & Restore, which sequenced the black-footed ferret genome in 2013. In 2018, Revive & Restore partnered with the commercial cloning company ViaGen Pets & Equine and obtained permission to clone Willa. Using basically the same process that created Dolly, they created embryos, implanted them into a tame domestic ferret surrogate (not a black-footed ferret) and welcomed Elizabeth Ann on 12/10/20. While Elizabeth Ann is of a different lineage than the remaining colony, the researchers will not introduce her into the surviving colony, fearing what that might cause, and will instead develop a new line. There are no plans to reintroduce Elizabeth Ann or any future clones back into the wild … yet.

Is this the right solution to saving species from extinction or bringing them back from it? One of the researchers says his goal is to bring back the passenger pigeon – birds are more difficult to clone than mammals. While this is the first cloning of an endangered species in the U.S., it has been done before in other countries (mouflon sheep, gaur, banteng, Pyrenean ibex, wild coyotes) but none have survived to adulthood. Revive & Restore co-founder and executive director Ryan Phelan told AP that they see it as a tool, not a sole solution to preventing extinction or propagating de-extinction.

“How can we actually apply some of those advances in science for conservation? Because conservation needs more tools in the toolbox. That’s our whole motivation. Cloning is just one of the tools.”

Sadly, cloning is glamorous technology, while preventing climate change, stopping the destruction of forests, eliminating toxic pollution and other more conventional ‘tools’ require hard work, government funding, big business buy-in and political support.
