Protogalaxy Cluster Found When the Cosmic Fog Was Starting to Clear, When the Universe Was Just 750 Million Years Old

Origin stories are a focus of many astronomical studies.  Planetary formation, solar system formation, and even galaxy formation have long been studied in order to understand how the universe came to be where it is today.  Now, a team of scientists from the Lyman Alpha Galaxies in the Epoch of Reionization (LAGER) consortium have found an extremely early “protogalaxy” that was formed approximately 750 million years after the big bang.  Studying it can provide insights into that early type of galaxy formation and everything that comes after.

750 million years ago was near the end of the period in the history of the universe called “reionization”.  During this epoch, which lasted approximately 370 million years, the first galaxies and large scale structures in the universe began forming.  The protocluster (a high density cluster of galaxies) that Jorge González-López, a postdoc member of the LAGER team, found was created around this epoch.  It is the furthest protocluster discovered so far. 

To find such a distant object required a lot of observational time on a variety of instruments. The team originally leveraged the Dark Energy Camera attached to the Victor M. Blanco Telescope and then performed follow-up observations with the Magellan telescope in Las Campanas, both located in Chile.  Las Campanas has the added advantage of extra “seeing”, which allows ground-based telescopes to capture very faint objects, such as this new protocluster, which might be unobservable in the sky of other parts of the world.

While the protocluster might be faint, it is certainly not physically small.  The LAGER team estimated the amount of mass that was most likely present in the detected protocluster.  Push forward to modern day sizing, and there is a high likelihood that it would be a supercluster similar in size to the Coma Group.

So far, the protocluster has not yet received a similar name, but it might be worthwhile to distinguish it as the farthest ever seen.  The LAGER group is continuing to search for early stage galaxy formations in similar areas of the universe.  The more they find, the more we will understand about our early universe.  The and the important it is to distinguish each discovery with a name as part of its own origin story.

Now here is a strange UFO flipping around in the sky as if it were turning around to look in different directions. The UFO has a main diamond metallic shape with a curved area sticking out of each of its four sides. Its darting around trying to find a place to hide in the clouds, but the blue sky makes it too obvious and the eyewitness noticed it as it was moving from one cloud to anther. I just have never seen this shape of UFO before...that right there makes me believe...this is a real alien craft.

These glowing lights don't just move about, but change speeds as well. You can see them staying relatively close to one another as if they are watching out for each other. Apparently he was mesmerized at what he was seeing and suddenly remembered to record it on his phone.

Zooming in on the first underwater structure then it looks like a gigantic bridge with a length of 38 km. It looks like as if there is some sort of passage under the bridge leading to a square structure behind the bridge. 

A possible road connects the bridge to Discovery tablemount which is part of a chain seamonts, called Discovery Seamonts. The seamounts formed between 41 and 35 million years ago and once rose above sea level. 

Assuming that these structures are a bridge and a road and were built in ancient times, at a time the Discovery Seamounts once rose above sea level than who built it millions of years ago? 

Another strange structure can be found next to Bouvet Island which is an uninhabited subantarctic volcanic island. The size of the zigzag structure is enormous and covers an area of about 255 km x 136 km. 

It is remarkable that the lines in the zigzag structure all have the same dimensions It almost looks like an enormous electrical conductor.

WHEN WILL THE MARS HELICOPTER FLY? INGENUITY IS NOW ON THE RED PLANET

FOLLOWING A NEAR-SEVEN MONTH JOURNEY THROUGH SPACE, NASA's Perseverance rover has finally landed on its target destination Mars on Thursday.

However, the SUV-sized robot did not travel by itself. Perseverance is joined by a smaller, more agile companion: the Ingenuity helicopter. If all goes well, Ingenuity could be the first aircraft to fly on another planet.

Ingenuity is only 19 inches tall, with two four feet long carbon-fiber rotors spinning in opposite directions. It's so small, in fact, that it spent the duration of the trip to Mars tucked inside the bottom of the Perseverance rover.

The team behind Ingenuity are not yet sure whether it is even possible for a helicopter to hover above the Martian surface. Mars' atmosphere is less than one percent the density of Earth’s, so it may be too thin for the helicopter to successfully fly. If it succeeds, then space agencies can add aerial exploration of Mars to future missions.

"The thing that has me the most excited as the NASA administrator is getting ready to watch a helicopter fly on another world," former NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine said during a press conference that previewed the mission on June 17. "That's something that's never been done before in human history, and here we are."

HOW WILL INGENUITY FLY ON MARS?

The team behind Ingenuity won’t get to test out the helicopter until at least a month after the pair have landed on Mars.

Shortly after their landing, the shield covering will drop and Ingenuity will separate from its robotic companion. After it detaches itself from the rover, the team on the ground has to ensure that Ingenuity passes a few initial milestones before they launch its first test flight. Ingenuity is powered through solar panels that charge up its lithium-ion batteries for one 90-second flight per Martian day.

Once the helicopter is able to charge itself through its solar panel, and communicate with the team through the Mars Helicopter Base Station on the rover, then they can begin testing the helicopter's flight abilities. But that likely won't happen until at least a month after landing on Mars.

Over the course of 30 Martian sols (a sol, the equivalent of a day, on Mars is about 40 minutes longer than a day on Earth), a team of NASA engineers on the ground will test out Ingenuity's ability to fly. But they're going to take things slow.

"We don’t have hard specific dates right now because the Perseverance and Ingenuity teams need time to check their robots and we cannot totally predict how long that will take," Jia-Rui Cook, supervisor of news events and projects at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, tells Inverse.

For its first flight, the helicopter will take off a few feet off the ground and hover in the air for around 20 to 30 seconds. Although brief, those first seconds of flight will be a major milestone in space exploration. Subsequent flights will attempt further distances and higher altitudes than the one before it. The helicopter could fly for up to 90 seconds, to distances of almost 980 feet at a time and about 10 to 15 feet above the ground.

Once it does take off, NASA engineers will have not only proven that they can fly an aircraft on another planet, one that has a vastly different atmosphere than Earth, but will then get to work deploying more helicopters to Mars and perhaps other worlds — including a plan to send a drone to Saturn’s moon Titan.

When Earth’s magnetic field flipped 42,000 years, the climate changed too

A reversal in Earth’s magnetic field and a decline in solar activity 42,000 years ago caused major climate shifts that led to global environmental change and mass extinctions, according to a new study. The researchers called it the “Adams Event”after sci-fi writer Douglas Adams who declared the number 42 as the ultimate answer.

The Earth has a magnetic field that works as a protective shield against damaging electromagnetic radiation. But when the poles switch, as it has happened many times in the planet’s geological history, the shield weakens significantly and leaves the planet exposed to high-energy particles. The last time this happened was 42,000 years ago and lasted for about 1,000 years, during what scientists refer to as the Laschamp event.

Previous studies couldn’t find much evidence of the impact of the event on the planet, probably because the focus wasn’t on the period in which the poles were actually reversing, Turney and his team argue. Now, they discovered that the pole switch could have been the reason for a wide array of climate and environmental phenomena with severe consequences.

For the study, the researchers carried out radiocarbon analyses of the rings of ancient kauri trees located in northern New Zealand wetlands, some of which were more than 42,000 years old. This allowed tracking over time the increase of carbon-14 levels in the atmosphere, which is generated by the increasing levels of high-energy cosmic radiation reaching the Earth.

“For the first time ever, we have been able to precisely date the timing and environmental impacts of the last magnetic pole switch,” co-author Chris Turney from the University of New South Wales said in a statement. “The findings were made possible with ancient New Zealand kauri trees, which have been preserved in sediments for over 40,000 years.”

The researchers looked at numerous records and materials from all over the world, including from lake and ice cores, and found that a host of major environmental changes happened at the same time as the carbon-14 levels peaked. This included a shift in tropical rain belts in the West Pacific and a large growth of the ice sheet over North America, for example.

They used a model to understand how the chemistry of the atmosphere might change if the Earth’s magnetic field was lost and there was a prolonged period of low solar activity, which would have further reduced Earth’s protection against cosmic radiation. Ice core records suggest such drops in solar activity, known as the “grand solar minima”, coincided with the Laschamps event.

The atmospheric changes would have caused big environmental and climate changes, the researchers believe. This would have accelerated the growth of ice sheets and contributed to the extinction of Australian megafauna. Plus, it could explain the emergence of red ochre handprints, as humans might have used the pigment as a sunscreen to cope with the increased levels of ultraviolet radiation.

But that’s not all. The harsh climate conditions would explain the larger use of caves by our ancestors, as the underground spaces offered shelter. This would have increased competition and could have contributed to the end of the Neanderthals. “It’s the most surprising and important discovery I’ve ever been involved in,” Alan Cooper, lead author of the study, said in a statement.

While the last time the poles switched was 42,000 years ago, the researchers said there’s currently rapid movement of the north magnetic pole across the Northern Hemisphere. This could eventually lead to another reversal. The magnetic field has already weakened by about 9% over the past 170 years.

“Our atmosphere is already filled with carbon at levels never seen by humanity before. A magnetic pole reversal or extreme change in Sun activity would be unprecedented climate change accelerants,” Turney said in a statement. “We urgently need to get carbon emissions down before such a random event happens again.”

The study was published in the journal Science.

Perseverance was donderdag na een reis van zeven maanden en ruwweg 480 miljoen km veilig aangekomen op de rode planeet. De robotjeep maakte een landing in de Jezerokrater, een uitgedroogd meer. Daar zal de komende twee jaar op zoek worden gegaan naar sporen van vroeger microbiologisch leven.

Mars rocks! NASA and European Space Agency reveal ambitious plan to bring a piece of the Red Planet back to Earth by 2031

• The space agencies revealed their wild plan in a virtual meeting held this week

Perseverance, as it was finally christened last month, will roam the surface of the planet, collecting dust and rock samples in test tubes.

The agencies will then launch a pair of spacecraft to Mars in 2026 – one of which will collect the sample from Perseverance on Mars when it lands in 2028. 

This spacecraft will then launch the samples into Mars orbit for the third spacecraft to collect and return to Earth in 2031.

If the plan works, scientists will finally get the very first hands-on analysis of samples of the planet in around 11 years’ time. 

The multi-billion dollar project to bring back a piece of Mars to Earth will involve three separate launches and would only be successful as soon as 2031. The mission will start when Perseverance, NASA's new exploration rover, launches this summer

When Perseverance lands at Jezero Crater on February 18, 2021, it will be the first spacecraft in the history of planetary exploration with the ability to accurately retarget its point of touchdown during the landing sequence

‘This is by no means a simple task,’ said Jim Watzin, head of NASA’s Mars exploration programme in Washington DC. ‘But we have kept it as simple as possible.’

‘What we can learn about Mars in our own laboratories is going to be fantastic,’ said Michael Meyer, lead scientist for the Mars exploration programme at NASA headquarters in Washington DC.

The full plan, as reported by Nature, begins when Perseverance lands in the Jezero crater, which is home to an old river delta that could reveal signs of ancient life.

As the six-wheeled lander Perseverance drives around for miles, it will scoop up enough material to fill around 30 geological sampling tubes.

The samples will be captured from the Jezero crater near a fossilised four billion year old river delta that could contain signs of ancient life

In 2026, NASA and ESA will launch two more spacecraft that would reach Mars in 2028.

The first will deploy a small rover, which will make its way to Perseverance, pick up the filled sampling tubes and transfer them to a ‘Mars ascent vehicle’ – a small rocket.

This rocket will blast off – in the process becoming the first object launched from the surface of Mars – and place the container into Martian orbit, meaning it will essentially be floating in space.

At this point, the third and final spacecraft involved in the tricky operation will manoeuvre itself next to the sample container, pick it up and fly it back to Earth.

Providing its re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere is successful, it will plummet to the ground at a military training ground in Utah in 2031.

NASA will build the sample-retrieval lander and the Mars ascent vehicle, while the ESA is tasked with the all-important third phase of the task – building the spacecraft that gets the samples home.

Nature reports that ESA officials committed to the plan at a ministerial meeting last November. 

Watzin declined to comment on how much it will cost, but it is likely to require at least several billion dollars from each agency, the report said. 

Regardless of whether it goes ahead or is even successful, NASA is launching Perseverance this summer. 

Perseverance is described by NASA as a ‘robotic scientist’ weighing just under 2,300 pounds (1,043 kilograms).

It will search for signs of past microbial life, assess Mars' climate and geology, collect samples and help pave the way for human exploration of the Red Planet.

The launch period for the rover – which NASA is adamant will remain unchanged despite the coronavirus pandemic – extends from July 17 through to August 5.

Regardless of when it launches during this period, it is set to alight in the Jezero Crater just after 3:40 pm EST (8:40pm GMT) on February 18, 2021.

The rover's name was picked from a 'Name the Rover' essay contest that received 28,000 entries from school children.

Perseverance, which was built at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, is now at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida for final preparations.

NASA MARS 2020: THE MISSION WILL SEE THE PERSEVERANCE ROVER AND INGENUITY HELICOPTER SEARH FOR LIFE

NASA's Mars 2020 mission will search for signs of ancient life on on the Red Planet in a bid to help scientists better understand how life evolved on Earth. 

Named Perseverance, the main car-sized rover will explore an ancient river delta within the Jezero Crater, which was once filled with a 1,600ft deep lake.

It is believed that the region hosted microbial life some 3.5 to 3.9 billion years ago and the rover will examine soil samples to hunt for evidence of the life.

The $2.5 billion (£1.95 billion) Mars 2020 spaceship launched on July 30 with the rover and helicopter inside - and landed successfully on February 18, 2021.

A second mission will fly to the planet and return the samples, perhaps by the later 2020s in partnership with the European Space Agency.

Just Some of the Planets That TESS Has Found Nearby

Ever since NASA’s Kepler Space Telescope was launched in 2009, there has an explosion in the study of the extrasolar planets. With the retirement of Kepler in 2018, it has fallen to missions like the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) to pick up where its predecessor left off. Using observations from TESS, an international team of astronomers recently discovered three exoplanets orbiting a young Sun-like star named TOI 451.

The research was led by Elisabeth R. Newton, an assistant professor of physics and astronomy at Dartmouth College. She was joined by researchers from NASA JPL, NASA Goddard, NASA Ames, the NASA Exoplanet Science Institute, the SETI Institute, the Max-Planck-Institute for Astronomy, the Kavli Institute for Astrophysics and Space Research, and multiple universities and observatories.

Using data from TESS, the team examined stars in the Pisces-Eridanus stream, a collection of stars located ~260 to 737 light-years from Earth. This stream measures about 1,300 light-years in length, extends across 14 constellations, and is named for those that contain the greatest concentrations. This stream was discovered in 2019 by a team led by Stefan Meingast using data obtained by the ESA’s Gaia mission.

Later that year, researchers led by Jason Curtis – an astronomer and National Science Foundation (NSF) Fellow at Columbia University (and a co-author on the study) – analyzed TESS data for several of these stars. What they found was that they had fast spin rates and prominent starspots (which caused periodic dips in luminosity), an indication that they are significantly younger than previously thought.

Based on these results, Curtis and his colleagues found that the stream was only 120 million years old (3% as old as our Sun). When Newton and her colleagues examined data collected on this same stream by TESS between October and December 2018, they noted the presence of three exoplanets around one star in particular. Known as TOI 451 (aka. CD-38 1467), this star lies about 400 light-years away in the constellation Eridanus.

TOI 451 is a G-type (yellow dwarf) star that is about 88% as large as our Sun, 95% as massive, and also slightly cooler and dimmer (being a young star). Another indication of its youth is the fact that it rotates once every 5.1 days – or five times faster than the Sun. According to the transits detected by TESS, all three of its planets orbit TOI 451 closer than Mercury does to our Sun, making them all hot and inhospitable to life (as we know it).

Follow-up observations were conducted in 2019 and 2020 using NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope (which retired on Jan. 30^th, 2020) and archival data obtained by NASA’s Near-Earth Object Wide-Field Infrared Survey Explorer (NEOWISE) between 2009 and 2011 (which was still WISE, at the time). Additional observations were made by the Las Cumbres Observatory global network and the Perth Exoplanet Survey Telescope in Australia.

All of these confirmed the presence of these three exoplanets that fit the designation of “hot Super-Earth.” The WISE data further revealed that TOI 451 is unusually bright in infrared light at wavelengths of 12 and 24 micrometers. This suggests the presence of a debris disk, which the team estimates to be centered about as far from the star as Jupiter is from our Sun.

The team also investigated a faint neighboring star that appeared to be in close proximity to TOI 451 in the TESS images. Using data from the ESA’s Gaia Observatory, Newton’s team determined that this star may actually be a binary system of two M-type (red dwarf) stars that’s a gravitationally-bound companion to TOI 451. As Prof. Newton explained in a recent NASA press release:

“This system checks a lot of boxes for astronomers. It’s only 120 million years old and just 400 light-years away, allowing detailed observations of this young planetary system. And because there are three planets between two and four times Earth’s size, they make especially promising targets for testing theories about how planetary atmospheres evolve.”

Why Do People Embrace Conspiracy Theories?

Authorities are still working to determine the identities of the insurrectionists who attacked the U.S. Capitol on January 6, many of whom were apparently motivated by false conspiracy theories that former President Donald Trump won the 2020 election but was cheated out of his victory due to widespread election fraud.

Conspiracy theories often rely on seeing things sharply in terms of right and wrong, and that can drive people to do things they might never have contemplated before, says Peter Ditto, a professor of psychological science at the University of California, Irvine.

“Moralizing things mobilizes people to action,” he says. “If I believed that the American election had been stolen from the rightful winner, I’d probably storm the Capitol, too. It makes perfect sense if that really happened. The problem is, that didn’t happen.”

The people most likely to embrace conspiracy theories are less inquisitive and often exhibit narcissistic tendencies, such as an inflated sense of self-importance, a deep need for attention and admiration, troubled relationships, a lack of empathy for others and fragile self-esteem, according to Emory University research published in the Journal of Personality.

Nika Kabiri, an expert on human decision-making affiliated with the University of Washington in Seattle, says everyone is potentially drawn to conspiracy theories, although some far more than others.

“We’re all potentially drawn to them because we all hate uncertainty. We all don’t like the idea of not knowing why things happen. It makes us feel like we don’t have control in the world. We want closure,” she says. “It’s a natural tendency for the human brain to look for those explanations.”

A conspiracy theory is thinking that blames or explains an important event or set of circumstances on a secret plot that is usually masterminded by powerful people. Conspiracy thinking can also embrace the idea that a big secret is being kept from the public.

When a prominent person, be it a movie director or a president, transmits a conspiracy theory, Kabiri says, it is like a super spreader event, and the conspiracy theory gets a lot of exposure.

“People are adhering to these beliefs because they’re already dissatisfied,” she says. “They’re already unhappy. There’s something they want to, perhaps, explain something that doesn’t sit well with them, and the story gives them an answer.”

Times of uncertainty, such as a pandemic, can help fuel the spread of conspiracy theories.

“People, in particular, that are susceptible to conspiracy thinking, they’re susceptible to them when they feel threatened and anxious, like a lot of people do right now,” Ditto says. “When the world seems confusing and incomprehensible, which it does right now. When people are lonely and they’re seeking connection with others.”

People often latch onto conspiracy stories because they cannot accept simple explanations for life-altering events, according to Ditto.

A major conspiracy about the 9/11 terror attacks holds that the twin towers in New York fell in a controlled demolition, rather than because planes crashed into them.

Unproven speculation about the COVID-19 pandemic holds that the virus escaped from a Chinese lab and was possibly an engineered bioweapon.

Many Americans find it hard to believe that President John F. Kennedy, a larger-than-life political figure, was killed by a lone gunman, a regular guy, which is why they embrace the unproven idea that there must have been a larger conspiracy to murder the president.

The Emory researchers found that the people most likely to embrace conspiracy thinking are often less agreeable and less conscientious, while being associated with a sense of entitlement, grandiosity, depression and anxiety.

“If you are in a close-knit community, either on social media or in real life, with people who are all adhering to the same belief, there’s a commitment to that belief that’s even more intense than if you just held that alone,” Kabiri says.

Ditto says a million years of evolution pushes people to break into groups with like-minded people.

“We’re very tribal. We’re very provably attached to people who are like us. It’s very, very unusual to have a place where you’re supposed to make friends with, and connect with, and cooperate with, people who don’t look like you and don’t have the same values. Maybe they have a different religion,” Ditto says.

“The American experiment, essentially, is an attempt to work against all those evolutionary forces and move people in this positive way where they cooperate. It’s way easier to break people up.”

History must be Rewritten: A Huge Structure found in Antarctica (Video)

One of the most mysterious places on Earth is Antarctica , possibly due to the absence of humans and because anomalies and strange possibly artificial structures are often discovered that account for a very different past on the white continent, a past that history does not has taken into account.

A huge potentially artificial structure was discovered in Antarctica. At first glance it can be classified as the remains of a huge building or even an old castle , such as those existing on Earth.

Is it possible that an ancient civilization inhabited Antarctica when it had no ice? The evidence is that yes, it is possible. In addition, fossilized plants have even been found , indicating that millions of years ago, that icy place had a different climate, warmer and was a more suitable habitat for plant life, even animal, and why not, ancient humans.

A huge castle in Antarctica?

The satellite images reveal a structure that is too similar to a medieval castle, or a fortress in which members of an ancient civilization or even an alien species that arrived on Earth in the remote past could have taken refuge .

It goes without saying that if it really is an artificial structure, this would cause history to be rewritten – a huge problem for historians and the mainstream, no doubt. That is the reason why many surprising findings (like this one) are not studied further (in situ) and are forgotten.

Unfortunately for being Antarctica, independent researchers who could reveal an uncomfortable truth to the world, do not have access to investigate beyond what a computer with Google Earth allows them. We can only see satellite images, in some cases blurred or even modified for one reason or another.

It should also be clarified that what is seen in the images could have natural causes, possibly left by the thaw or for another reason. Some experts believe that it is only a Sastrugi, a snowy surface that presents many topographic irregularities, shaped by sharp and irregular grooves that are formed by the erosion of the wind, the saltation of snow particles and the deposition of the fallen snow itself, both in polar and temperate regions, as Wikipedia indicates .

This is not the first anomalous structure found in Antarctica (and possibly not the last). Dozens of these types of finds have been made in previous years. Could many secrets of a lost civilization predate historical records hide under the thick ice sheet?

An Elongated Skull In The Paracas Museum In Peru Dates Back Approximately 3000 Years.

The analysis of DNA in some of these skulls of Paracas has been done recently and verifies that the elongation was not only caused by the artificial cranial deformation, but rather by genetics. New DNA Testing on 2,000-Year-Old Elongated Paracas Skulls Changes Known History

The elongated skulls of Paracas in Peru caused a stir in 2014 when a geneticist that carried out preliminary DNA testing reported that they have mitochondrial DNA “with mutations unknown in any human, primate, or animal known so far”. Now a second round of DNA testing has been completed and the results are just as controversial – the skulls tested, which date back as far as 2,000 years, were shown to have European and Middle Eastern Origin. These surprising results change the known history about how the Americas were populated.

Paracas is a desert peninsula located within Pisco Province on the south coast of Peru.  It is here where Peruvian archaeologist, Julio Tello, made an amazing discovery in 1928 – a massive and elaborate graveyard containing tombs filled with the remains of individuals with the largest elongated skulls found anywhere in the world. These have come to be known as the ‘ Paracas skulls ’. In total, Tello found more than 300 of these elongated skulls, some of which date back around 3,000 years.

Strange Features of the Paracas Skulls

It is well-known that most cases of skull elongation are the result of cranial deformation, head flattening, or head binding, in which the skull is intentionally deformed by applying force over a long period of time. It is usually achieved by binding the head between two pieces of wood, or binding in cloth. However, while cranial deformation changes the shape of the skull, it does not alter other features that are characteristic of a regular human skull.

In a recent interview with Ancient Origins, author and researcher LA Marzulli describes how some of the Paracas skulls are different to ordinary human skulls:

“There is a possibility that it might have been cradle headboarded, but the reason why I don’t think so is because the position of the foramen magnum is back towards the rear of the skull. A normal foramen magnum would be closer to the jaw line…”

LA Marzulli points to the position of the foramen magnum in a Paracas skull which is also the point at which they drilled in order to extract bone powder for DNA testing.

Marzulli explained that an archaeologist has written a paper about his study of the position of the foramen magnum in over 1000 skulls. “He states that the Paracas skulls, the position of the foramen magnum is completely different than a normal human being, it is also smaller, which lends itself to our theory that this is not cradle headboarding, this is genetic.”

In addition, Marzulli described how some of the Paracas skulls have a very pronounced zygomatic arch (cheek bone), different eye sockets and no sagittal suture, which is a connective tissue joint between the two parietal bones of the skull.

In a normal human skull, there should be a suture which goes from the frontal plate … clear over the dome of the skull separating the parietal plates - the two separate plates – and connecting with the occipital plate in the rear,” said Marzulli. “We see many skulls in Paracas that are completely devoid of a sagittal suture.

There is a disease known as craniosynostosis, which results in the fusing together of the two parietal plates, however, Marzulli said there is no evidence of this disease in the Paracas skulls.

DNA Testing

The late Sr. Juan Navarro, owner and director of the Museo Arqueologico Paracas, which houses a collection of 35 of the Paracas skulls, allowed the taking of samples from three of the elongated skulls for DNA testing, including one infant. Another sample was obtained from a Peruvian skull that had been in the US for 75 years. One of the skulls was dated to around 2,000 years old, while another was 800 years old.

The samples consisted of hair and bone powder, which was extracted by drilling deeply into the foramen magnum. This process, Marzulli explained, is to reduce the risk of contamination. In addition, full protective clothing was worn.

The samples were then sent to three separate labs for testing – one in Canada, and two in the United States. The geneticists were only told that the samples came from an ancient mummy, so as not to create any preconceived ideas.

Surprising Results

From the samples, only the mitochondrial DNA (DNA from the mother’s side) could be extracted. Out of four hair samples, one of them couldn’t be sequences. The remaining three hair samples all showed a Haplogroup (genetic population group) of H2A, which is found most frequently in Eastern Europe, and at a low frequency in Western Europe. The bone powder from the most elongated skull tested came back as T2B, which originates in Mesopotamia and what is now Syria, essentially the heart of the fertile crescent. “It rewrites history as we know it,” said Marzulli.

“If these results hold,” writes Brien Foerster on his website Hidden Inca Tours , “the history of the migration of people to the Americas is far more complex than we have been told previously.”

If these results are confirmed through further tests, it means that peoples from Europe and the Middle East migrated to the Americas long before it is conventionally believed.

Marzulli said that mainstream academics will probably attack these results by pointing to the fact that he is not a scientist, but he urges any skeptic to replicate the study. “Attack the evidence folks. Go down and get your own samples, pay for a DNA lab and then come back to me with your science… do some science like we’ve done,” he said. The results are also consistent with the fact that many of the Paracas skulls still contain traces of red hair, a color that is not natively found in South America, but originates in the Middle East and Europe.

“No academics as far as we can tell can explain why some of the skulls that still have hair are red or even blonde,” writes Brien Foerster, “the idea that this is from time or bleaching has NOW been disproven by 2 hair experts. For the ancient Paracas people, at least, they had blonde to reddish hair that is 30% thinner than NATIVE American hair. It is GENETIC!”

Extra-terrestrial Hypothesis

Due to the unusual shape and features of the Paracas skulls, there has long been speculation that they are extra-terrestrial in origin, and many have hoped that DNA testing would prove that to be the case.

“As regards an “alien” component or ancestry to the skulls, we may never know,” writes Brien Foerster. “The DNA testing programs can only compare sample DNA with those that are known, and those are held in a huge database called Gentech in the US. Further testing with cooperation from Peruvian archaeologists and the Ministry of Culture are now ongoing.”

Nevertheless, LA Marzulli explained that the DNA results fit perfectly with the hypothesis he has held since before any testing was undertaken. That is that the Paracas people are the Nephilim. The Nephilim, according to ancient Biblical texts, are the offspring of the Fallen Angels and the women of earth, resulting in a hybrid entity, and they said to be based in the area of the Levant, the same place that the Paracas DNA traces to.

Whether or not this hypothesis is correct, the results of the DNA tests are dramatic and history changing and further testing may help to unravel the complex history of the Paracas people.

Next Steps

LA Marzulli and colleagues have plans for further testing and are currently working with Peruvian and American archaeologists. They have verbal permission from the head archaeologist of a Peruvian Museum to take more samples. These will then be presented to the Ministry of Culture for final consent before the samples are taking to US labs for testing. This process is expected to take at least a couple of years to complete.

Before she was born, a huge white light had visited her parents and instructed them on how to raise her. They were told that heavenly beings would give their daughter spiritual knowledge for healing humans. When she was born, her face was covered with two veils (normally, there is one that rarely occurs fewer than 1 in 80,000 births), and after the nurse removed it, she saw her skin glowing and called it a “magic skin.”

At that time, her parents lived in a desert in California, and many people wanted to see her magic skin which lasted for 10 days, but her parents were very protective, so they left the place and went to her grandfather’s house in Oregon. Nadira lived there among the farmers and loggers and often went on exploring the place with her younger brother. She said that she had been visited by a not very tall ET many times (whom she designated as the “Cat Man”) when she was only 5 or 6. But it came only in summer, not in other seasons.

“I was small for my age and he had a round face he had curled up eyes very small just like little slits that curled up oh he had yellowish skin which was rough and bumpy you know how you get goosebumps. This is how his skin was and then he had big yellow spots and then from here he had these wild what I thought was hairs they could have been some kind of feelers or something but in my mind’s eye I have always referred to him as a cat man,” Nadira said.

She had lots of conversations with this ET, and he shared some highly advanced information with Nadira which could only be revealed to the future generation. She learned spirituality under the watchful eye of archangels Micheal, Gabriel, Raphael, Sunder Singh, etc. She accepted that she had no power on her own, and whatever she got was taught by the spirits she applied in healings. Moreover, she does channelings.

Nadira had an interesting incident in her life when she was in her twenties and went to San Francisco with her friend Mary on a business trip. Inadvertently, they found themselves on the wrong way while returning. Mary noticed that they were heading to the Golden Gate Bridge which was not in their path. They felt like under hypnosis of something. The night was clear, but the bridge was covered with a thick fog, and there was no sign of people on it.

Mary was trying hard to accelerate the car, but it did not go fast. Then Nadira looked out of the window and found themselves above the bridge. Her friend’s reaction was rather positive than being shocked. That’s it, she only remembered the part of being lifted up but did not see any ship or light. Next, they were parked somewhere near a hotel and sitting for long in a car till the next morning. What they had witnessed was actually a “Lost Time.” They had no clue what had happened but they lost around 13 hours.

Nadira already knew that they had been abducted by the aliens but did not want her friend to know about it. Somehow, Mary’s boyfriend did hypnosis on her and shockingly, she recalled everything that had happened in those lost hours.

Anyway, they both never discussed it, and years later, in the mid-1980s, Nadira went for a laparoscopy. Her tests were normal, everything was fine but her gall bladder and a rib were missing. Interestingly, she thought it was a mistake because she had never had any surgery, and there is no surgery mark on her abdomen. Later, she recalled her abduction that had happened in the 70s and then found out that an advanced ET technician had removed her gall bladder for goodness. What’s more, she met an alien on the ship, whom she called the “Commander.”

The Commander told her that she was special, not like others. The ship had panels with symbols like ancient languages, and each symbol represented different universes. The Commander took her on a ride to a universe where she saw a purple and pink planet with beings on it. They were smaller in size but had no flesh on their body. Then she returned to the place where they began.

Nadira had many contacts with the Commander who was actually a female Grey alien in a special bodysuit and face mask. The alien told her that their bodies were very fragile, and any germ or bacteria from her could kill them. Their race had a very weak immune system, they had lost the ability to give birth, their women could not get pregnant and outnumbered the men. So, to strengthen her (Grey) race, they had been mixing themselves with humans.

Surprisingly, the Commander told her that they were actually from the Earth and time-traveled from the future to find her through genetic codes. The grey told her about a great disaster that would come in the future, and that the “New World Order” would destroy humanity. Nadira saw a scene of 9/11 and various riots that were going to happen in the future through time travel. The grey alien told her that there were people who wanted to enslave humans. Their biggest goal was only to start a war and earn money. Those people were not any world leaders or presidents.

The commander said: “Ones who are in power today on your earth rule you by fear. The ones who are in power are not the ones that are the kings and the presidents. There are a select few that are in power, these are the ones that want the New World Order these are the ones that want to enslave the people of Earth. These are the ones who will be the downfall of Earth because they are warmongers these are the ones that are wanting to make money because money is their God.”

Nadira said that her main purpose on Earth is to enlighten humans about infinite love which is their only chance to survive, otherwise they would end up like the Greys. From her knowledge that she received from spirits and the Cat Man, she wants to help people to have peace.

Comme prévue, la Nasa vient de mettre en ligne les premières images en couleur avec Perseverance sur Mars. On attend la mise en ligne de la vidéo de son arrivée sur la Planète rouge.

La sonde Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO), qui orbite autour de Mars depuis l'année 2006, possède six instruments dont la caméra High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRise). Sa résolution est cinq fois meilleure que celle de la caméra embarquée à bord de Mars Global Surveyor, qui avait cartographié la Planète rouge entre 1999 et 2001 et elle continue à fournir des images spectaculaires de Mars que l'on peut contempler sur son site.

Aujourd'hui HiRise a livré une extraordinaire image de la descente du module de la mission Mars 2020 contenant le rover Perseverance de la Nasa à travers l'atmosphère martienne. Sur cette image prise le 18 février 2021 on voit également l'ancien delta d'un fleuve. Le module de la mission Perseverance entre dans le Cratère Jezero à partir de la gauche, son parachute traînant derrière. HiRise était à environ 700 kilomètres de Perseverance au moment de la prise de l'image et se déplaçait à environ 3 kilomètres par seconde.

HiRise a capturé la descente vers Mars du rover Perseverance avec cette image à très haute résolution.Une ellipse indique où persévérance a finalement atterri dans le cratère de Jezero.

Pour les scientifiques, ce paysage présente de nombreuses caractéristiques intéressantes dont des blocs rocheux enterrés et des cailloux d’une très grande variété de taille. À l’horizon, on distingue ce qui est certainement le rempart du cratère.

Perseverance s'est posé sur Mars : un atterrissage réussi et premières images !

La Nasa a posé avec succès le rover Perseverance, ouvrant la voie à une inédite mission de retour d'échantillons martiens et à la possibilité de dire si la vie a pu émerger sur la planète Mars.

Sans surprise, osons le dire, le rover Perseverance s'est bien posé sur la planète Mars après un voyage de plusieurs mois débuté le 30 juillet 2020. Le rover a atterri dans le cratère Jezero, un bassin d'impact de 45 kilomètres de diamètre, qu'une rivière a rempli d'eau liquide il y a 3,5 milliards d'années. Pour l'heure, la Nasa détermine l'endroit exact de son atterrissage dans cet ancien delta, aujourd'hui asséché. Les premières images couleur devraient être rendues publiques ces prochaines heures, tout comme celles, inédites de la traversée de l'atmosphère lors des fameuses « sept minutes de terreur ». Les opérations scientifiques ne débuteront pas avant quelques semaines. Ces prochains jours, la Nasa va tester tous les équipements scientifiques et systèmes du rover pour s'assurer de leur bon fonctionnement.

Il faut savoir que Perseverance est aussi la première mission martienne d'exobiologie qui a de très bonnes chances de trouver des traces de vies éteintes. Si la vie a existé, elle s'est très vraisemblablement présentée sous la forme de bactéries et n'aurait pas dépassé ce stade de l'évolution, car on sait aujourd'hui que l'eau à l'état liquide était présente sur Mars seulement quelques centaines de millions d'années.

Le retour d'échantillons martiens en point de mire

Perseverance marque également le coup d'envoi de l'ambitieuse mission de retour d'échantillons martiens. Cette mission se déroulera en plusieurs étapes et s'étalera sur une dizaine d'années. Elle comprendra plusieurs éléments réalisés par la Nasa et l'ESA. L'Europe réalisera le satellite de capture et de retour vers la Terre, le fetch rover, le bras de récupération et de transfert des échantillons dans le conteneur.

Mars Rover Footage Compiled Into an Astonishing 4K Video That Reveals the Surface of the Planet

Elderfox Studios took photographic footage taken by various Mars space rovers and compiled them into an absolutely astonishing 4K rendered video that reveals the surface of Mars. The original photos used in this short but stunning documentary were from NASA, JPL-Caltech, MSSS, Cornell University and ASU.

Although the cameras are high quality, the rate at which the rovers can send data back to Earth is the biggest challenge. Curiosity can only send data directly back to Earth at 32 kilo-bits per second. Instead, when the rover can connect to the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, we get more favourable speeds of 2 Megabytes per second.

All this comes ahead of the highly anticipated landing of NASA’s well equipped Perseverance Rover. The launch took place on July 20, 2020, with the landing on Mars expected on February 18, 2021.

The Mars 2020/Perseverance rover is designed to better understand the geology of Mars and seek signs of ancient life. The mission will collect and store a set of rock and soil samples that could be returned to Earth in the future. It will also test new technology to benefit future robotic and human exploration of Mars.

“The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” author Douglas Adams told us that the “Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything” is 42. A new paper published in the journal Science suggests that life, the Earth and everything changed 42,000 years ago – an event they’ve named the ‘Adams Event’ in honor of the other ‘42’. What was it and why did it change everything?

“For the first time ever, we have been able to precisely date the timing and environmental impacts of the last magnetic pole switch.”

In a press release announcing the discovery, Chris Turney, a professor at UNSW Science and co-lead author of the study, identifies the event 42,000 years ago as the ‘Laschamp Excursion’ – the short reversal of the Earth’s magnetic field during the end of the Last Glacial Period that lasted 1,000 years and was named for the geomagnetic anomalies it caused that were discovered in the 1960s in the Laschamps lava flows in Clermont-Ferrand, France. While the magnetic pole flip was known, its effects were not. Until some researchers in New Zealand figured out where to look.

“The findings were made possible with ancient New Zealand kauri trees, which have been preserved in sediments for over 40,000 years. Using the ancient trees we could measure, and date, the spike in atmospheric radiocarbon levels caused by the collapse of Earth’s magnetic field.”

Studying the rings of these 40,000-year-old kauri trees was like reading a detailed timeline and history of the Laschamp Excursion. They showed that the real damage to life, the Earth and everything didn’t occur during the event but before it, as the poles were in the process of swapping sides.

“Earth’s magnetic field dropped to only 0-6 per cent strength during the Adams Event. We essentially had no magnetic field at all – our cosmic radiation shield was totally gone. Unfiltered radiation from space ripped apart air particles in Earth’s atmosphere, separating electrons and emitting light – a process called ionization. The ionised air ‘fried’ the Ozone layer, triggering a ripple of climate change across the globe.”

Using the Adams Event timeline, Turney and his team matched it up to events occurring around the world at the same time – discovering that the growth of ice sheets and glaciers over North America and large shifts in major wind belts and tropical storm systems began occurring during and after the Adams Event. The damage included the simultaneous extinctions of megafauna across mainland Australia and Tasmania that defied previous attempts to explain. It may have also been responsible for the extinction of Neanderthals and the sudden widespread appearance of figurative art in caves around the world – the activities of humans hiding in the caves to escape climate change and frightening events in the skies.

“Early humans around the world would have seen amazing auroras, shimmering veils and sheets across the sky. It must have seemed like the end of days.”

Co-lead author Professor Alan Cooper, Honorary Researcher at the South Australian Museum, says the aurora borealis and aurora australis (northern and southern lights) would have been brighter and more frequent due to the reduced magnetic field, which also would have increased the frequency and intensity of electrical storms. Turney says the team was amazed at how well the events from around the world matched up to the timeline in the tree rings.

“The more we looked at the data, the more everything pointed to 42. It was uncanny. Douglas Adams was clearly on to something, after all.”

‘The Adams Transitional Geomagnetic Event’ (Adams Event) is the answer to what happened during the last magnetic pole flip 42,000 years ago – an event that is occurring again right now in 2021, when a lot of catastrophic environmental events are occurring. ‘21’ is half of ‘42’! Are we in an Adams Event 2.0?

Not all alien witnesses are isolated bumpkins in the middle of nowhere. At times there can be such characters who manage to propel themselves up into the upper levels of society. Bettina Rodriguez Aguilera, a former social worker and ombudsman at the Miami-Dade county manager’s office in Florida, got her start in politics as a council member from Doral, Fla., from 2012 to 2014. The city’s mayor then nominated her to replace the vice mayor in 2013, and from there her career took off. She did some great things during that time, sponsoring a human-trafficking ordinance in 2014 and shutting down prostitution rings, as well as boosting Doral’s economic and population growth during her time as the city’s economic development coordinator, and ten in 2017 she announced her candidacy for Florida’s 27th Congressional District. It was a key point in her life, and was also notable in that this particular candidate had a history of rather odd alien encounters.

When the Miami Herald endorsed her for the GOP nomination to take the seat being vacated by Republican Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, her weird story came out into the open.  Aguilera would claim that from a tender young age she had been targeted by otherworldly forces, starting when she was just 7 years old. At thins time, she says she was approached by a “round spaceship,” from which came three beings, two women and a man, who were exceptionally tall, with blonde hair and outstretched arms, who she said resembled the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro. These bizarre entities then took her aboard their spacecraft, which had round seats and was controlled by quartz crystals, and spoke to her telepathically, telling her “God is a universal energy, not a person. It’s in everything. God talks to people and they understand it in different ways, but there’s only one religion.”

After this, she claims that these same aliens contacted her several times throughout her teen years, during which time they bestowed upon her secret knowledge. She says the aliens told her all about the Egyptian goddess Isis, and they also told her that the center of the world’s energy is Africa, and that 30,000 non-human skulls were once discovered in a cave on the Mediterranean island of Malta, as well as that the mysterious Coral Castle in South Florida is in fact the site of an ancient pyramid. She has said of these strange encounters and their relation to her political standing:

For years people, including Presidents like Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter and astronauts have publicly claimed to have seen unidentified flying objects and scientists like Stephen Hawking and institutions like the Vatican have stated that there are billions of galaxies in the universe and we are probably not alone. I personally am a Christian and have a strong belief in God, I join the majority of Americans who believe that there must be intelligent life in the billions of planets and galaxies in the universe.

Such comments and statements have certainly raised eyebrows, and drawn in both supporters and detractors. One Rick Yabor, a Miami lawyer and political commentator, told The Washington Post:

Why Bettina jumped in that race, I don’t know … her views are not very mainstream. There’s going to be people that believe her, and there’s going to be people that think she’s wacky. Being a politician, to come out and say that, it’s odd. She got into details that are not very mainstream. Someone who’s running for Congress — you’ve got to raise a lot of money. A donor might have second thoughts. Miami politics are unusual. This one takes it to a new level.

On the other hand, you have those like Stephen Bassett, of the UFO-centric Paradigm Research Group, who has excitedly said, “This is a milestone. If she were to win the election, she would be the first open contactee to serve in Congress.” For her part, Aguilera has tried to distance herself from it all, saying of the alien contacts in relation to her political career, “It has nothing to do with what I have done. It happened when I was 7 years old. I stick to my guns when I believe in something.” Miami Herald editorial page editor Nancy Ancrum has rushed to Aquilera’s defense as well, saying:

Here’s why we chose her: She’s not crazy. We chose not to see her as a two-dimensional figure. And we chose not to make that an overriding concern. We’re more thoughtful than that. I think she would serve this district well . . . I don’t think we went off the rails here, People just have to look at it in context.

Is this all delusion or is there something more to it? Would such a person be fit for office, or just a derailed individual looking for attention? The fact of the matter is that such alien encounters happen to people from all walks of life, and it is difficult to pigeonhole it into simply uneducated weirdos out in the boondocks. This is a prevalent phenomenon, many people experience it, and cases like we have looked at here jus take it further down the rabbit hole.

I watched this video many times, trying to determine what it was I was looking at. At first I thought cars in the background, but when I added light to the screenshot, there was only sky. Then I thought ball lighting, but ball lighting usually moves and is lit up for few seconds, unlike this which is lit up less than 1 second at a time. I took a screenshot of the UFO and it turns out it's actually not a light at all. It's a solid metal object, square in shape, but moving very fast. So fast that its only seen when it kicks in a little extra boost of energy to shoot away. That boost makes it visible for a split second in the dark. Wow, this guy actually caught a whole UFO fleet of smaller ships shooting away from his location one by one, as often I have seen in other UFO video and reports. As I have said before, there is a alien base off the Florida coast about 5-6km below the ocean floor. Thats where they came from, but where they are going...out of our atmosphere and beyond. 100% proof that an alien base sits off the Florida coast. But what I didn't know is that the base covers a space that goes from one side of Florida to the other...its huge!

Watch this raw footage of an orange glowing UFO over Chile two weeks ago. The object is about the size of a small plane, but no plane has lights that powerful. This object is right over the city of Colina and seems to be highly interested in the people below. I'm sure other eyewitnesses also took notice of it, but the UFO was clearly aware that it was seen by humans. It is deliberately allowing itself to be seen, helping people become accustomed to seeing alien craft little by little, as many UFO do. This is absolute proof that some UFO want to be seen, conditioning humanity to become use to their presence.

 The world is announcing and celebrating the landing of the 4th NASA Rover on Mars...the Perseverance. But something seems to be overlooked. The first photo of Mars sent back has 70% of the photo blacked out...edited deliberately by NASA to hide something nearby. Now NASA spent 2.7 billion US dollars on the rover mission, so you know they have the best state of the art technology on it...meaning the cameras are the best Earth has to offer. Such a glitch as this would never happen with such technology. Even a simple iphone 12 tied to the rover would offer more clear, higher detail, better contrast and better color photos than the ones NASA is showing the public. So how can this even happen? Well, it can't and didn't. It was a deliberate attempt by NASA to hide an alien structure, ship, or living creature in the area near the rover. The photos they are giving us are equal to an old iPhone 3 from back in 2008 when it was released. So...I ask the world why do they accept such poor quality photos that are deliberately sabotaged by NASA who deliberately glitches, adds too much light blueing detail and making the size of the public photos smaller than the size an iPhone 1 would have produced. Its true, look it up. An iPhone 1 would make photos 1.37MB in size, compared to the Perseverance Rover photos the public sees at 56KB to 250KB in size. Thats pathetic and not even worth the public looking at them. Now...ask yourself...what is NASA really hiding from us all? That...is the right question.

On February 18, 2021, witness was surprised to see a long line of lights at constant speed in the sky over Phoenix, Arizona, which turned out to be one of SpaceX' Starlink trains in low orbit which are small satellites to provide internet access. 

But it's not just the Starlink train that stands out it's the UFO that flies past the satellites, which is highly unusual. 

Whether the UFO is a defect satellite or in case it is indeed a UFO then could it be that the sphere has been ordered to scan the satellites for some reason? Mufon case 113721.

Mars, la planète rouge. C'est la planète la plus proche de notre Terre. Mais elle n'en reste pas moins difficile d'accès. De nombreuses missions destinées à son exploration ont échoué. Mais d'autres ont fourni aux astronomes des informations précieuses sur sa composition et son histoire.

En juillet 1965, après un voyage de huit mois, la sonde Mariner 4, lancée par la Nasa, est la première de l'histoire à survoler Mars. Un moment immortalisé par 22 clichés historiques. Des images qui montrent des cratères d'impact de type lunaire, l'absence d'eau en surface et une faible atmosphère.

Trois semaines avant Mariner 4, Mariner 3, sa sonde jumelle, est lancée vers Mars. Mais un problème technique la prive d’une alimentation par panneaux solaires. La sonde n’atteindra jamais Mars. © Nasa 

Mais il faut attendre quelques années plus tard pour que Mariner 6 et 7 montrent, en 1969, que les structures sombres observées depuis la Terre depuis les années 1800 ne sont pas des canaux martiens. Mariner 9 deviendra, en 1971-1972, la première sonde à orbiter autour de la planète rouge, prenant en photo 100 % de sa surface.

Profitant de la même fenêtre de tir, l'URSS se lance également vers Mars avec deux sondes : Mars 2 et Mars 3 -- qui se mettront en orbite autour de Mars à la même époque que Mariner 9. Ils seront les premiers à toucher le sol martien... en s'y écrasant, malheureusement.

En 1976, pour la première fois, une sonde atterrit sans encombre sur Mars : Viking 1. Suivie de près par Viking 2. L'occasion pour les astronomes de partir pour la première fois à la recherche de signes de vie. Et de découvrir ainsi des activités chimiques inattendues sur le sol de la planète rouge.

Alors que ces missions devaient prendre fin au bout de 90 jours, toutes les deux ont été prolongées bien au-delà des espérances. La sonde Viking 1 a transmis ses dernières données à la Terre en 1982 !

Ce n'est ensuite qu'au début des années 1990 que la Nasa se retourne vers Mars. Mais la mission Mars Observer s'achève prématurément lorsque les ingénieurs perdent le contact avant que la sonde n'entre en orbite autour de la planète rouge.

En 1997, avec la mission Mars Pathfinder, Sojourner est le premier rover à déambuler sur la surface de Mars. Il observera notamment des galets arrondis qui suggèrent que de l'eau a coulé sur la planète rouge par le passé.

La sonde Mars Global Surveyor a, de son côté, commencé sa mission de cartographie de Mars en 1999. Elle a par exemple montré des phénomènes météorologiques qui se répètent d'une année sur l'autre. Les données de son altimètre laser ont fourni aux astronomes une première image 3D de la calotte polaire de Mars.

Mars Climate Orbiter, Mars Polar Lander, Mars Odyssey, Mars Express. Les missions vers Mars se succèdent ensuite à un rythme effréné. Et bientôt, de nouveaux rovers font parler d'eux : Spirit et Opportunity, déposés en 2004 à dans des régions opposées de la planète rouge. Si Spirit s'est enlisé après quelques années de service, Opportunity a poursuivi sa mission jusqu'en 2019. Et en 2015, il a battu le record de distance parcourue par un véhicule extraterrestre après avoir roulé sur plus de 42 kilomètres.

D'autres missions sont toujours en opération et notamment la mission Mars Science Laboratory plus connue pour son rover Curiosity qui a atterri sur Mars en 2012 afin de déterminer si les conditions sur la planète rouge ont pu, à un moment de son histoire, permettre à des formes de vie de se développer. Le Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, lancé en août 2005, transporte la caméra la plus puissante jamais pilotée lors d'une mission d'exploration planétaire pour se concentrer sur les détails du terrain martien. La mission Mars Atmospheric and Volatile EvolutioN (Maven) est une mission plus modeste et à faible coût, en orbite depuis 2014. ExoMars 2016 (Nasa, ESA, Roscosmos) a également pour objectif d'aider de comprendre si la vie a pu se développer sur Mars. Enfin, la sonde InSight -- pour Interior Exploration using Seismis Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport -- est plus spécifiquement un programme d'exploration du sous-sol martien.

En juillet 2020, la Chine s'est lancée dans la course avec sa mission Tianwen-1 constituée d'un orbiteur équipé de sept instruments conçus pour fonctionner un moins une année martienne et d'un rover et de ses six instruments qui devraient explorer Mars pendant 90 jours.

Le rover Perseverance -- et Ingenuity, le premier hélicoptère martien -- quittera la Terre direction Mars également en ce mois de juillet 2020. Son objectif principal : chercher des traces de vie microbienne sur la planète rouge. Et recueillir quelques échantillons de sol qui devraient être rapportés sur Terre par la Mars Sample Return Campaign dont le lancement est prévu pour 2026. Entre temps, la mission ExoMars 2022 (Nasa, ESA, Roscosmos) emportera sur la planète rouge, le rover Rosalind Franklin.

Watch NASA light a fire on a spaceship on purpose. You know, for science.

A fiery experiment deliberately lit in a cargo spacecraft last month monitored larger and more dynamic flames than most previous efforts to learn how fire works in space have.

The Spacecraft Fire Safety Experiment-V (Saffire-V), which occurred after a Northrop Grumman Cygnus spacecraft departed the International Space Station on Jan. 6, is the latest in a series of fire studies to protect astronauts on long-term missions.

Saffire-V lasted 26 hours, then the Cygnus spacecraft, which was filled with trash, burned up safely in Earth's atmosphere as planned.

The experiment involved lowering the spacecraft pressure and filling it with oxygen similar to what humans may breathe in future spacecraft. Sensors embedded in the spacecraft, along with cameras, measured temperature variations, oxygen levels and flame growth. The data could improve fire detection and assist with cleanup after a fire, NASA said in a statement 

"The Saffire-V data will allow us to model fire scenarios and increase our confidence in safety strategies," Gary A. Ruff, Saffire project manager at NASA's Glenn Research Center, said in the same statement.

NASA plans to fly another Saffire experiment to the space station, although the agency has not specified when it will fly or what the new experiment will study.

Fire behaves quite differently in microgravity than on Earth. Without gravity, hot gasses don't rise; fires also burn at lower temperatures and with less oxygen. Those differences matter: for example, researchers say the material used to extinguish spacecraft fires must be more concentrated than what we use on our own planet.

NASA is trying to beef up its deep-space systems in preparation for the Artemis program, which plans to land humans on the lunar surface by 2024 if the budget and technology development stay on track. NASA also plans to establish a long-term base on the lunar surface assisted by international partners, commercial robots and landers built under the agency's Commercial Lunar Payload Services program.

Pentagon admits it has been testing wreckage from UFO crashes & findings may ‘change our lives forever,’ expert says

THE Pentagon has admitted to holding and testing wreckage from UFO crashes in a bombshell Freedom of Information letter, shared with The Sun.

Researcher Anthony Bragalia wrote to the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) requesting details of all UFO material, which they hold and results of any tests they had been carrying out on it.

He wrote: "This could include physical debris recovered by personnel of the Department of Defense as residue, flotsam, shot-off material or crashed material from UAPS [unidentified aerial phenomenon] or unidentified flying objects."

In the response, shared with The Sun, the DIA released 154 pages of test results that includes reports on a mysterious "memory" metal called Nitinol, which remembers its original shape when folded.

Bragalia said it was a "stunning admission" from the US government and the documents reveal that some of the retrieved debris possesses "extraordinary capabilities" including the potential to make things invisible or even slow down the speed of light.

He told The Sun: "The Pentagon has admitted to holding and testing anomalous debris from UFOs.

"They have been able to learn some things about the materials of construction which hold tremendous promise as futuristic materials which will change our lives forever."

He said he first made the request in 2017 - which took three years for the DIA to fulfill - after it was revealed the Pentagon had been studying UFOs under the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP).

"The article mentioned that anomalous debris from UFOs (now called UAPs) was being analyzed by a private defense contractor," Bragalia said.

"Material evidence such as UFO debris has been a focus of my research.

"My Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was very specific, seeking the test results of UFO/UAP debris, not material already known to science."

Bragalia believes some of the material that is being tested could have come from the notorious Roswell incident of 1947, in which a UFO crashed in New Mexico.

"The inclusion of advanced technical reports on Nitinol is curious," Bragalia said.

"Nitinol is a shape-memory alloy that 'remembers' its original shape when folded or crunched, and snaps back seamlessly and instantly.

"This memory metal characteristic was reported by many witnesses at Roswell."

However the agency has held back certain details about the materials - including any information about they could be of alien origin - stating in the letter: "I have determined that some portions of five documents must be withheld in part from disclosure..."

"They are omitting information on the chemical and elemental composition of the material as well as its origin," Bragalia said.

"They have omitted the names of the involved scientists as well, but I have since learned some of their names and will be contacting them."

The DIA letter, first shared on Bragalia's blog, reveals that the testing was carried out by Bigelow Aerospace, one of the Department of Defense's private contractors based in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The company laid off all of its staff at the Vegas plant last March due to the toll of the pandemic - and it's not known where the UFO material may now be kept.

Mysteriously Bragalia said everyone he approached who used to work at the plant refused to comment to him.

 "All former personnel have refused me any real comment," he said.

"I suspect the material has been returned to the Pentagon."

The UFO researcher is planning to launch an appeal to obtain some of the redacted information in the coming months.

Russian researchers want to study ancient viruses from the Siberian permafrost

A former Soviet bioware lab is investigating ancient permafrost viruses.

Russian state laboratory Vector has announced a new research project in which it will probe ancient animals frozen in the Siberian permafrost, looking for ancient. The aim of the project is to identify such viruses and conduct advanced research into virus evolution.

“We hope that interesting discoveries in the world of viruses await us, one researcher was quoted.”

The remains of many Paleolithic creatures are trapped in the icy grip of the Siberian permafrost. Aided by global warming that melted some of the ice, expeditions have uncovered the remains of numerous kinds of animals preserved by the freezing temperatures. The remains are interesting by themselves, but Russian researchers now want to probe even further, and look at what type of viruses these organisms may have hosted.

The study will be focused on remains discovered in 2009 in Yakutia, a vast region of north-eastern Siberia where remains of Paleolithic animals including mammoths, elk, dogs, partridges, rodents, hares, and many others have been discovered. The researchers will be probing these groups looking for ancient viruses, called paleoviruses.

“We are conducting studies on paleoviruses for the first time,” said Maxim Cheprasov, head of the Mammoth Museum laboratory at Yakutsk University, who added that they have already carried out several bacterial studies on the samples.

The research is a collaboration between Vector and the University of Yakutsk. The work began with analysis of tissues extracted from a prehistoric horse thought to be at least 4,500 years old. Researchers drill a tiny hole and take tissue samples, placing them in a test tube. They then carry out a series of analyses on this sample, from genome sequencing to isolation of total nucleic acids, to obtain data on the entire biodiversity of the microorganisms in the sample.

“If nucleic acids aren’t destroyed, we will be able to obtain data on their composition and establish how it changed, what was the evolutionary development of microorganisms. Vector researcher Olesya Okhlopkova explains in a press release. She adds that they will also “determine the epidemiological potential of currently existing infectious agents.”

Sergei Fedorov, one of the participating researchers, adds that the findings are kept in a special freezer at temperatures of -16 to -18 degrees Celsius (around 0-3 degrees Fahrenheit). Mammoths will be a point of particular interest for the project, but researchers will look at samples from various ancient animals. “We hope that interesting discoveries in the world of viruses await us,” says Fedorov

Vector is a secluded research institute that, in Soviet times, was weaponized and used in the Soviet biological warfare program. The laboratory made important progress in smallpox research, but also researched the production of various viruses and toxins. In post-Soviet times, the center focuses on vaccine research (for Hepatitis A or influenza, for instance), diagnosis systems, and other epidemiological research.

Vector also developed a COVID-19 vaccine (EpiVacCorona, not the Sputnik V) which was licensed in October in Russia and is scheduled to begin mass production in February.

Scientists have two-way conversations with lucid dreamers while they sleep

Interactive dreaming is a thing for some people. Here's what's going on.

Lucid dreaming happens when you’re aware that you’re dreaming, as opposed to being completely immersed in the experience and totally decoupled from reality. Some lucid dreamers are so good at it they can consistently enter this state of awareness in their sleep and can even control their dream’s storyline to their liking. If you find all of this fascinating, you’re not alone — and scientists have now published a new study in which they’ve tapped into the brains of lucid dreamers while they had real-time dialogues.

Despite the ubiquity of dreams, scientists still know surprisingly very little about them. Most people have trouble remembering their dreams, which are subject to distortion, fragmentation, and forgetting, making neuroscience studies of dreaming highly challenging. In typical dreams, people judge their experience But this is where lucid dreamers come in.

In a new study, researchers led by Karen Konkoly, a neuroscientist at Northwestern University, attempted to communicate in real-time with 36 individuals who were in rapid-eye-movement (REM) sleep. The participants hailed from the United States, France, Germany, and the Netherlands, and were assessed by four independent laboratories.

“Why do we have dreams? How are dream scenarios created? Does dreaming confer any benefit for brain function? These and other questions have remained open, in part, because of the limited options available for peering into dream experiences,” wrote the researchers in the journal Current Biology.

“In typical dreams, people judge their experience with a high degree of acceptance and a lack of critical evaluation; they fail to realize that their experience is merely a dream. On the other hand, a “lucid dream” differs in that the dreamer gains the elusive insight of being in a dream.”

The participants’ experience with lucid dreaming varied — which was exactly what the researchers were looking for. Some had minimal experience with lucid dreaming, while others were frequent lucid dreamers. One patient with narcolepsy claimed he almost always had lucid dreams.

To verify that the participants were indeed dreaming, the researchers placed electrodes close to their eyes, as well as on the scalp and chin. This device records brainwave activity and eyeball movement, which are closely linked to deep sleep.

During this stage, people are likely dreaming. But how do you know they are also aware they’re dreaming? In order to identify which participants were lucid dreaming, the researchers asked certain questions that some participants answered with pre-arranged eyeball movements.

For instance, one participant was asked for the answer to eight minus six, to which he correctly answered “two” by making two eye movements from left to right. When asked to repeat the answer, the participant once again performed the correct eye movement.

After the participants woke up and the sessions were over, the researchers made a tally and found 18% of the trials involved clear and accurate communication as described above, 17% seemed to acknowledge they were being asked questions but made unintelligible answers, 3% gave wrong answers, and 60% had no reaction at all.

Massive Black Hole Could Challenge Stellar Evolution Theories

With a mass of 21 times that of the sun, the black hole of Cygnus X-1 challenges theories of stellar evolution.

In addition to finding the black hole is 50% more massive than prior estimates, near 21 solar masses as opposed to 15 solar masses, the team also discovered that the companion star also has a greater mass than previous measurements had revealed. The system as a whole is 20% further away than previously calculated–7,200 light-years from Earth as opposed to 6,100 light-years.

“We know that Cygnus X-1 hosts a black hole that is 21 times the mass of the Sun. We also learned that the supergiant companion star in Cygnus X-1 is also more massive than we had thought, with a mass of about 40 times the mass of the Sun,” Professor James Miller-Jones, the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR), Curtin University, Australia, tells ZME Science. “The revised masses and distances also lead to an updated orbital separation between the star and the black hole — they orbit each other at a separation of one-quarter the distance from the Earth to the Sun.”

The finding, published in the latest edition of the journal Science, means that Cygnus X-1 contains the largest black hole created through the collapse of a star alone, that has ever been detected with traditional electromagnetic astronomy without the use of gravitational waves. Larger black holes do of course exist, but these are formed through other mechanisms such as mergers between smaller black holes after that initial stellar collapse.

Miller-Jones, the study’s lead researcher, goes on to explain that the team also learned that the black hole is spinning very rapidly , close to its maximum possible speed. 

“With all this new information, we were able to propose a likely scenario for how this system formed, which can explain its observed properties.”

The finding doesn’t conform to current theories about black hole formation and stellar development in binary systems as its mass is greater than the limit imposed on such an object. 

How Cygnus X-1 Challenges Theories of Stellar Evolution

The team chanced on their finding whilst conducting an ambitious project to observe Cygnus X-1 almost continuously over a full 5.6-day orbit with the network of radio telescopes that comprise VLBA and X-ray telescopes. The aim of the research was to better understand how gas being fed into a black hole from a binary partner via a spiraling accretion disc connects to powerful jets of material that launch out from near the central region at near light speed.

“We had not originally aimed to refine the distance and the mass of the black hole but realised that our data would allow us to do so, by accounting properly for the effects of the black hole orbit.  But there is still a wealth of data from this rich observing campaign that we are looking to analyse more fully.”

“Black holes form from the deaths of the most massive stars when they run out of fuel and gravity takes over,” says Miller-Jones. “The mass of the resulting black hole is set by the initial mass of the star from which it formed — which we call the progenitor star — the amount of mass that star lost in winds over its lifetime, and any interactions with a nearby companion star.” 

Miller-Jones continues, saying massive stars launch very powerful winds from their surfaces, which leads to significant mass loss over their few-million year lifetimes. Some of the later phases of star’s evolution have particularly strong winds — determined by the abundance of elements heavier than helium in the gas from which the star was formed. More heavy elements mean stronger winds, and ultimately, a less massive star immediately before gravitational collapse. 

While some stars can also lose further mass in supernova explosions as they collapse to form a black hole, the evidence suggests that in Cygnus X-1, there was no explosion, and the star collapsed directly into a black hole,” says Miller-Jones. “The stronger the stellar winds during the late evolutionary phases of the star, the less massive we would have expected the black hole to be.”

At first, the team wasn’t totally aware of just how significant their discovery of mass disparities in the Cygnus X-1 binary system was. “I think that our biggest surprise was when we appreciated the full implications of our measurements,” Miller-Jones says. “As observational astronomers, my team and I had already found that we could revise the source distance and the black hole mass. However, it was not until I visited a colleague, Professor Ilya Mandel of Monash University, who is a theoretical astronomer, that we realised how important this actually was.”

Mandel–co-author on the resulting paper– realised that a 21-solar mass black hole was too massive to form in the Milky Way with the constraints in place due to the current prevailing estimates of the amount of mass lost by massive stars in stellar winds.

“The existence of such a massive black hole in our own Milky Way galaxy has shown us that the most massive stars blow less mass off their surface in winds than we had previously estimated. This improves our knowledge of how black holes form from the most massive stars.”

Cygnus X-1: No Stranger to Contraversy

The team’s findings have allowed them to put forward a scenario that would allow the formation of a 21 solar mass black hole in a binary system. “We suggest that the star that eventually collapsed into a black hole began its life a few million years ago with a mass of 55-75 times the mass of the Sun,” Miller-Jones tells ZME.  “Over its lifetime, it was close enough to its companion–the current supergiant–that gas from its surface was transferred onto its companion.  This removed the outer layers of the black hole progenitor and caused it to rotate more rapidly because the two stars were always keeping the same face towards one another. 

“Eventually, possibly as recently as a few tens of thousands of years ago the progenitor star collapsed directly into a black hole–of close to its current mass of 21 times the mass of the Sun–without a supernova explosion.”

Additionally, as well as gaining an insight into the black hole’s birth, Miller-Jones believes the team’s results could also indicate how the system could end its life. “Finally, we considered the eventual fate of this system,” the paper’s lead author says. “While the current companion star may eventually form a black hole, the separation of the two stars is such that the two black holes are unlikely to merge on a timescale comparable to the age of the Universe.”   

A companion paper appearing at the same time in the Astrophysical Journal will delve deeper into these elements of the research.

This isn’t the first time that Cygnus X-1, and more specifically its black hole, has sparked discussion in the fields of astronomy and cosmology. As speculation grew during that the intense X-ray source in the region was the result of a black hole, renowned physicist Stephen Hawking bet fellow scientist Kip Thorne–well known for his black hole work–in 1974 that Cygnus X-1 did not contain a black hole.

In december vertelde hij al aan Axel Springer dat hij van plan was om bijna al zijn bezittingen te verkopen. Hij zal ook geen eigen huis meer hebben. Sindsdien verkocht hij al meerdere huizen uit zijn vastgoedportfolio, die ooit meer dan 100 miljoen dollar (82 miljoen euro) waard was. Vorig jaar verkocht hij drie huizen in de rijke buurt Bel Air in Los Angeles en een landgoed dat vroeger eigendom was van acteur Gene Wilder. “Behalve de aandelen in de bedrijven, zal ik bijna geen bezittingen hebben met een geldwaarde”, zei Musk. “Als het op het werk druk is, dan slaap ik graag in de fabriek of op kantoor. En ik heb natuurlijk een plek nodig voor als mijn kinderen er zijn, dus ik zal gewoon iets huren of zo.”

Musk verhuist ook van Californië naar Texas, omdat hij daar geen inkomstenbelasting dient te betalen. Zijn inspanningen om zijn kapitaal te vergroten, kaderen allemaal in zijn plannen om uiteindelijk een kolonie te stichten op Mars. “Ik denk dat het belangrijk is dat de mensheid een ruimtevarende beschaving en een multiplanetaire soort wordt,” aldus Musk. “En het zal veel middelen vergen om een stad te bouwen op Mars. Ik wil zo veel mogelijk bijdragen aan de stad op Mars. Dat betekent gewoon veel kapitaal.”

De oprichter van SpaceX wil tegen 2050 één miljoen mensen naar Mars sturen en is van plan om 1.000 ruimteschepen te bouwen - die de naam Starships krijgen - om dat transport mogelijk te maken. Dat toestel staat echter nog niet op punt. Eerder deze maand explodeerde een onbemand Starship, nadat het er na een geslaagde lancering niet in slaagde om veilig te landen. Ook in het verleden liepen proeven met Starship-prototypes al fout.

Slavernij

Musk hoopt uiteindelijk drie ruimteschepen per dag te lanceren naar Mars, met telkens 100 mensen aan boord. Binnen dertig jaar moet de kolonie op Mars zo een bevolking van maar liefst een miljoen mensen tellen. Voor wie naar Mars wil, maar het niet kan betalen, zijn er leningen beschikbaar, beweert de ondernemer. Bovendien zullen er op de rode planeet volgens hem veel jobs beschikbaar zijn. 

Volgens critici is Musks plan echter een interplanetaire vorm van contractarbeid. Dat systeem werd vroeger gehanteerd door koloniale grootmachten: kolonisten die de oversteek naar de Nieuwe Wereld niet konden betalen, kregen dat vergoed door hun toekomstige werkgever in ruil voor enkele jaren arbeid op diens landgoed of in diens fabriek. In werkelijkheid was dat systeem echter erg vergelijkbaar met slavernij: de arbeiders werden uitgebuit, genoten erg weinig vrijheid, hadden vaak geen medische verzorging en werden dikwijls gedwongen om langer in dienst te blijven dan aanvankelijk overeengekomen.

Waarom het eerste beeld dat Marsrobot Perseverance maakte een zwart-wit foto was

Gejuich, gejoel en grote opluchting bij het NASA-team nadat de Perseverance zichzelf veilig door de dunne dampkring van Mars wist te loodsen. Enkele minuten na de landing van de Marsrobot volgde er al een eerste foto van zijn nieuwe thuis. Maar waarom was dat een zwart-wit foto? 

 

'Seven minutes of terror' van de landing van de Perseverance

Perseverance is niet zomaar een Marsrover of -robot. Het is het meest geavanceerde astrobiologische laboratorium ooit dat vanop de aarde gelanceerd is. Hij is ontworpen om de Jezero-krater op Mars uit te kammen, op zoek naar tekenen van leven. Om deze missie te doen slagen, is de robot uitgerust met tal van technische snufjes waaronder 19 camera’s. Zoveel camera’s en toch een zwart-wit, en ietwat wazige, eerste foto maken? Kan dat niet beter?

Zwart-wit en korrelig

Perseverance maakte gebruik van zijn navigatiecamera’s om de foto te maken. Deze camera’s - eentje vooraan en een tweede achteraan - dienen voornamelijk om de omgeving te verkennen. Het spreekt voor zich dat deze robuuste camera’s als eerste (deels) werden vrijgemaakt en geactiveerd. 

Het beeld is een beetje korrelig door het stof dat tijdens de landing opwaaide. Dat stof is meteen ook de reden waarom er niet onmiddellijk andere camera’s geactiveerd werden; de lenzen van deze camera’s blijven afgedekt totdat het stof is gaan liggen. Nog een reden waarom er voor de zwart-wit foto’s werd gekozen: deze beelden, met een lage resolutie, konden sneller naar de aarde verstuurd worden.

Kortom, de eerste foto’s - Perseverance deelde wat later nog een tweede foto van zijn uitzicht aan de achterzijde - zijn slechts een fractie van wat nog komen moet. Twee van de camera’s waarover de Marsrobot beschikt kunnen immers beelden maken met een zeer hoge resolutie. Zonder twijfel zullen er nog enkele spectaculaire plaatjes volgen.

The history of the top-secret Dulce Base – an underground base in New Mexico reported to be home of alien research facility.

Residents from Dulce, New Mexico will attest that the Archuleta Mesa in New Mexico has seen its share of bizarre events. Dulce, a border town near the Colorado-New Mexico border, is remote, largely unpopulated (Dulce has a population of only around 3,000 people), and is the tribal headquarters of the Jicarilla Apache Reservation. According to several reports, it is the home of the top-secret Dulce Base – a research and military facility operated jointly between humans and alien beings from another world.

Paul Bennewitz picks up strange radio signals

The rumors of a base in Dulce began in 1979. Paul Bennewitz, a local electrician with a doctorate in physics, was researching classified government programs at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Part of his researched involved construction and monitoring of sensitive radio equipment. It 1979, he began intercepting strange radio transmissions. From what he could tell, the communications were between government organizations and another party which he ultimately determined were not from this planet. The signals emanated from the mesa near Dulce.

Aliens in the area?

The story gained traction when a second report lent credence to the theory there were aliens in the area. New Mexico State Trooper Gabe Valdez had investigated several bizarre cases of mutilated cattle near the mesa. These weren’t your run-of-the-mill cattle mutilations. Valdez noted that he often found discarded gas masks and glow sticks at the scene. And in one instance, he found an unusual fetus inside one of the carcasses. According to Valdez, the fetus looked like a “cross between a human, a monkey, and a frog”. Experts in alien species drew the conclusion that the fetus was the discarded body of a nefarious reptiloid (aka Reptilian) alien body.

Phil Schneider comes forward

Soon after, 35-year-old Phil Schneider came forward with claims he had worked at the Dulce Base facility. Investigators determine Schneider did indeed have military contacts. He was the son of Oscar Schneider, a Captain in the United States Navy who worked in nuclear medicine and helped design the first nuclear submarine.

According to Schneider, he had been employed by Morrison-Knudsen on a project to drill four large holes that were joined together with tunnels. His job was to descend into the holes and study the rock composition in order to recommend further course of action. He was suspicious of the job from day one because of the unusual presence of military personnel – Green Berets and other special forces.

During the drilling, workers came across a large artificial cavern. The structure was huge and clearly manmade. As Schneider was marveling at the cavern, he suddenly found himself face-to-face with a seven-foot-tall gray alien. Schneider pulled a pistol he was carrying and shot the alien who fought back with an unknown weapon of its own. A gunfight broke out between more aliens and the military personnel. During the melee, 67 workers and military personnel were killed, Phillip Schneider being one of only three people that survived. Schneider claimed to have suffered injuries in the attack and showed scars on his chest to prove it. He claimed the unusually shaped injuries were from the alien’s weapon.

Schneider explains Dulce Base

Schneider says Dulce Base has seven levels tied together by a subway system. In fact, Schneider says the underground subway system extends all the way to Los Alamos National Laboratory.

He says the base is the center of a ground operation between the US and extraterrestrials. According to Schneider, thousands of aliens lived in the underground facility. They were allowed to experiment on humans in exchange for advanced alien technology.

Schneider began speaking out about the aliens, UFOs, and government coverups. Together with four other men, he started a publication called The Alien Digest. The publication became popular with the paranormal community and gained a wide circulation. In the publication, Schneider revealed that underground alien bases existed all around the world. Huge amounts of black budget money went towards building the bases.

The death of X

In 1993, one of the men behind The Alien Digest was found dead in a park in Portland, Oregon. He had been shot in the mouth. Schneider claimed his partner was murdered to shut them up. Police paid no attention to his claims.

For several years prior, Schneider had travelled throughout the country lecturing about government cover-ups, black budgets, and UFOs. Schneider always claimed he knew his life was in danger. Schneider’s body was found on January 17, 1996, three years after the death of his business partner. Doctors ruled the death a stroke. Oddly, the ruling was later changed to suicide. Investigators claimed Schneider had wrapped a rubber catheter hose three times around his neck and tied it with a knot.

Schneider’s claims are confirmed

Soon after Schneider’s untimely death, Thomas Costello came forward claiming to be a security guard for the base. Costello confirmed Schneider’s reports and added that horrific experiments were conducted at the base by both humans and aliens. Costello noted that the caves in the mesa had been occupied by reptoid aliens for centuries.

Costello’s claims ignited a media firestorm with publications across the country reporting his story. Oddly, after Costello’s appearance before the public, Schneider’s family suddenly burst into the scene. After years of silence, family members came forward with claims that Phil Schneider was insane. The media firestorm subsided, and the family grew silent again.

Other secret underground military bases

The top-secret Tonto National Forest military base

Researchers have found other instances of secret underground military bases. A FOI request revealed a strange report from the US Forest Service’s Southwestern Region office in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was an odd call from a man claiming to have run across workers building an underground “alien base” near the Tonto National Forest outside Phoenix, Arizona. It noted that the following email was sent to all US Forest employees:

“David received a call this morning at the front desk from a male caller reporting the construction of a secret government installation upstream from the Salt River Canyon past Pinal Creek (Upstream from Roosevelt Lake). Caller claims to have seen construction cranes coming out the side of the cliffs, miniature stealth planes and UFOs, aliens and people working together at the site, aliens eating people. He found a severed head and claims to have pictures of some of this stuff. Caller reported that he is 60, not crazy and doesn’t do drugs. He said he had already called the ‘office at the lake’, but he didn’t know if those people were turning the other cheek or maybe those people have been paid off.”

Another similar report was found in the archives of a UFO investigative organization. The report had been submitted by Scott Heckman and spoke of a base in the national forest where scores of people were said to have “gone missing”. The report read:

“The most major base that I have been able to follow the craft towards is located in the Tonto National Forest. I discovered this while camping in the Sierra Ancha Wilderness. The UFOs kept flying down into the basin two minutes apart. They flew low, out of the southeast at about two thousand feet above the terrain. During the daytime A-10’s use the area for training. Re-fueling practice also occurs here both day and night. These areas have also been plagued with several unexplained disappearances that have occurred in Cochise County over the last 30 years. Cars are abandoned with people’s ID; money and keys left behind. Their occupants are mysteriously missing, never to be seen again.”

“THE DULCE BASE” by Jason Bishop III

The following is a bizarre report that made the rounds on the Internet forums in the early 2000’s. The author of the report claims to have inside knowledge of Dulce base operations.

This facility is a “GENETICS LAB” and is connected to Los Alamos, via a “Tube-Shuttle.” Part of their research is related to the General Effects of Radiation (Mutations and Human Genetics). Its research also includes other “Intelligent Species” (Alien Biological Life Form “Entities”).

In the revised September 1950 edition of “THE EFFECTS OF ATOMIC WEAPONS” prepared for and in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission, under the direction of the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory, we read about how “complete Underground placement of Bases is desirable”. On page #381: “There are apparently no fundamental difficulties in construction and operating Underground various types of important Facilities. Such facilities may be placed in a suitable existing mine or a site may be excavated for the purpose”.

CAUGHT IN THE GAME

Centuries ago, Surface People (some say the Illuminati) entered into a pact with an “Alien Nation” (hidden within the Earth). WHOS PLANET IS THIS?

These Aliens consider themselves “Native Terrans”.

THE SECRET “ACTIVITY”

Paul Benowitz reports, about his study into the Dulce area, “Troops went in and out of there every summer, starting in ’47. The natives do recall that. They also built a road – right in front of the people of Dulce and trucks went in and out for a long period. That Road was later blocked and destroyed.. The signs on the trucks were ‘Smith’ Corp. out of Paragosa Springs, Colorado. No such corporation exists now – no record exists….. I believe the Base – at least the first one was being built then under the cover of a lumbering project…. problem – they NEVER hauled logs. Only BIG Equipment”.

R&D AND THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX

THE RAND CORP. became involved and did a study, for the Base. Most of the lakes near Dulce were made, via Government grants ‘for’ the Indians.

NAVAJO DAM is the main source for conventional electrical power, with a second source in EL VADO (also, an entrance).

Note: The Sept. 1983 issue of “OMNI” (pg#80) has a color drawing of “THE SUBTERRENE”, the Los Alamos nuclear-powered tunnel machine that burrows through the rock, deep underground, by heating whatever stone it encounters into molten rock (magma), which cools after the SUBTERRENE has moved on. These underground tubes are used by electro-magnetically powered “Subshuttle Vehicles”, which can travel at great speeds. They connect the “Hidden Empire” Sub-City Complexes. Also, the top-secret project code-named: “NOAH’s ARK”, uses “TUBE-SHUTTLES” in connection with a system of over 100 ‘Bunkers’ and ‘Bolt Holes’ which have been established at various places on Earth. With other Bases inside the Moon and Mars. Many of these underground Cities are complete with streets, sidewalks, lakes, small electric cars, apartments, offices and shopping malls.

BECHTEL (pronounced BECK-tul) is a super secret international corporate octopus, founded in 1898. Some say the firm is really a “SHADOW GOVERNMENT” – a working arm of the CIA. It is the largest construction and engineering outfit, in the USA and the WORLD (and some say BEYOND).

The DULCE FACILITY consists of a Central “HUB”, the Security Section, (also some photo labs). The deeper you go, the stronger the Security. This is a multi-leveled Complex. There are over 3000 cameras at various High-Security locations (exits and Labs).

There are over 100 Secret Exits near and around Dulce. Many around Archuleta Mesa, others to the south around Dulce Lake and even as far east as Lindrith.

A person who worked at the Base, who had an “ULTRA 7” Clearance, reports: “There may be more than seven levels, but I only know of seven. Most of the Aliens are on 5-6-7 Levels. Alien housing is Level Five.”

The network-net was set-up by DARPA Advanced Research Project Agency). Two of the procedures were, RHIC (Radio-Hypnotic Intercerebral Control) and EDOM (Electronic Dissolution of Memory). The brain transceiver is inserted into the head thru the nose. These devices are used in the Soviet Union and the United Stated, as well as Sweden. The Swedish Prime Minister Palme gave the National Swedish Police Board the right (in 1973) to insert brain transmitters into the heads of human beings COVERTLY!

They also developed ELF and EM wave propagation equipment (RAYS) which affect the nerves and can cause nausea, fatigue, irritability, even death. This is essentially the same as Richard Shaver’s Cavern “Telaug” Mech. As US Energy Secretary, John Herrington named the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory and New Mexico’s Los Alamos National Laboratory to house new advanced genetic research centers as part of a Project to decipher the Human Genome. The Genome holds the genetically coded instructions that guide the transformation of a single cell – a fertilized egg – into a Biological Being. “The Human Genome Project may well have the greatest direct impact on humanity of any scientific initiative before us today”, said David Shirley, Director of the Berkeley Laboratory.

Covertly, this research has been going on for years, at DULCE LABS. Level #6 is privately called “NIGHT-MARE HALL”, it holds the Genetic Labs. Reports from workers who have seen bizarre experimentation, are as follows: “I have seen multi-legged ‘humans’ that look like half-human / half-octopus. Also Reptilian-humans, and furry creatures that have hands like humans and cries like a baby, it mimics human words… also huge mixture of Lizard-humans in cages”. There are fish, seals, birds and mice that can barely be considered those species. There are several cages (and vats) of Winged-humanoids, grotesque Bat-like creatures…but 3 1/2 to 7 feet tall. Gargoyle-like beings and Draco-Reptoids.

Level #7 is worse, row after row of thousands of humans and human mixtures in cold storage. Here too are embryo storage vats of Humanoids in various stages of development.

“I frequently encountered humans in cages, usually dazed or drugged, but sometimes they cried and begged for help. We were told they were hopelessly insane and involved in high risk drug tests to cure insanity. We were told to never try to speak to them at all. At the beginning we believed that story. Finally, in 1978 a small group of workers discovered the truth. It began the Dulce Wars”. (and a secret resistance Unit was formed) Note: There are over 18,000 “Aliens” at the Dulce Base. William Cooper states: “A clash occurred where in 66 people, of our people, from the National Recon Group, the DELTA group, which is responsible for Security of all Alien connected Projects, were killed.” The DELTA Group (within Intelligence Support Activity) have been seen with badges which have a black Triangle on a red background. DELTA is the fourth letter of the Greek alphabet. It has the form of a triangle, and figures prominently in certain Masonic Signs.

*EACH BASE HAS ITS OWN SYMBOL. The DULCE Base symbol is a triangle with the Greek letter “Tau” (T) within it and then the symbol is inverted, so the triangle points down.

INSIDE THE DULCE BASE

Security Officers wear jumpsuits, with the Dulce Symbol on the front upper left side. The standard hand weapon, at Dulce is a “Flash Gun”, which is good against Humans and Aliens. The ID card (used in card slots, for the doors and elevators) has the Dulce Symbol above the ID photo. “Government Honchos” use cards with the Great Seal of the U.S. on it. “The Cult of the All-Seeing Eye” (THE NEW WORLD ORDER) 13, “666” The Phoenix Empire….”9″ “Illuminism”… “One out of many”.

After the Second Level, everyone is weighed, in the nude, then given a Uniform. “Visitors” are given an ‘off white’ uniform. In front of ALL sensitive areas are scales built under the doorway, by the door control. The persons card must match with the weight and code or the door won’t open. Any discrepancy in weight (any change over three pounds) will summon Security. No one is allowed to carry anything into or out of sensitive areas. All supplies are put thru a Security conveyor system. The Alien Symbol language appears a lot at the Facility.

During the construction of the Facility (which was done in stages, over many years) the Aliens assisted in the Design and Construction materials. Many of the things assembled by the workers, were of a Technology they could not understand, yet…it would function when fully put together. Example: The elevators have no cables. They are controlled magnetically. The Magnetic system is inside the walls.

There are no conventional electrical controls. All is controlled by advanced Magnetics. That includes a magnetically induced (phosphorescent ) Illumination System. There are no regular light bulbs. All EXITS are magnetically controlled. Note: it has been reported that, “If you place a large magnet on a entrance, it will affect an immediate interruption. They will have to come out and reset the system.”

THE TOWN OF DULCE

The area around Dulce has had a high number of reported Animal Mutilations. The Government and the Aliens used the animals for Environmental tests, Psychological Warfare on people, etc.. The Aliens also wanted large amounts of Blood for Genetic, Nutritional and other reasons.

In the book, “ETs & UFOs – THEY NEED US, WE DON’T NEED THEM” by Virgil “Posty” Armstrong, he reports how his friends (Bob & Sharon) stopped for the night in Dulce and went out to dinner. “They overheard some local residents openly and vociferously discussing Extraterrestrial Abduction of townspeople for purposes of experimentation.” The ET’s were taking unwilling human guinea pigs from the general populace of Dulce and Implanting Devices in their heads and bodies. The townspeople were frightened and angry but didn’t feel that they had any recourse since the ET’s had our Governments knowledge and approval.

Recently, participants in a “field investigation” of the area near Archuletta Mesa, were confronted by two small hovering ‘Spheres’. They all became suddenly ill and had to leave the area.

In the Fifties, the EBES (Greys) began taking large numbers of humans for experiments. By the Sixties, the rate was speeded up and they began getting careless (they didn’t care). By the Seventies, their true colors were very obvious, but the “Special Group” of the Government still kept covering up for them. An eyewitness caught sight of the StarLink SpaceX satellites that Elon Musk launched not long ago. The satellites stream in a straight line and are easily seen with the naked eye on a clear night as Arizona often has. But somethings up near them. A glowing object was recorded passing along side the satellites. Its not the International Space Station, because it is much larger than the satellites. So what is it? I think its an alien ship that is checking out Americas latest and greatest technology. Its also likely that the UFO is tapping into communication networks through the satellites to monitor Earths current situation. StarLink was created for Internet access...well, the aliens are accessing it to learn about us.

Eyewitness states: 

Long line of lights appearing on the north side and disappearing on the south side of view. While walking at about 6"20am, I observed a long row flights toward the ESE of the horizon moving in a North to South direction. The lights made no sound and remained at a steady speed. The lights appeared on the north end of the line and disappeared on the south end of the line. It was diicult to estimate distance, but the line looked at least a mile long. The lights appeared lower than commercial airline travel, and were located lower than the adjacent clouds. I observed the lights for five minutes, after which the disappeared.

Disc-shaped light similar to the Phoenix lights seen in the sky south of Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. 

On February 17, 2021, the witness noticed a bright light around a solid light object in the sky south of Luke AFB, however no military flying was being conducted and Luke Radar Approach Control was closed.

Russia, China to sign agreement on international lunar research station

HELSINKI — Russia is preparing to sign a memorandum of understanding with China to cooperate on a vision for an international lunar research station.

“Roscosmos has completed domestic proceedings to harmonize the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of People’s Republic of China on cooperation to create the International Lunar Research Station,” Roscosmos Press Office told SpaceNews in an email.

“The date to sign the above mentioned MoU has not been determined yet and is currently discussed with the Chinese partners,” Roscosmos said. An Order of the Government of the Russian Federation relating to the move was published online Feb. 11.

Roscosmos press office said the official announcement of the plans to create the International Lunar Research Station is planned to coincide with one of the upcoming international events. St. Petersburg is due to host the Global Space Exploration Conference 2021 in June.

Roscosmos did not provide requested further details on the makeup of, nor contributions to the International Lunar Research Station.

The ILRS is understood to be a Chinese-developed vision for a robotic base at the lunar south pole. The first steps will be the upcoming Chang’e-,6, -7 and -8 missions and international missions such as Russia’s Luna 27. In the early 2030s an expanded ILRS will involve long-term robotic and potentially short-term crewed missions. A long-term human presence at the lunar south pole is the goal for 2036-2045. 

The project, at this early stage, would appear to consist of Chinese, Russian and potentially other nations contributing their own, discrete spacecraft. This would be in contrast to a more complex, integrated program such as the International Space Station.

ILRS objectives include “construction and operation of human[ity]’s first sharing platform in the lunar south pole, supporting long-term, large-scale scientific exploration, technical experiments and development and utilization of lunar resources’, according to a 2020 presentation to the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) by the Lunar Exploration and Space Engineering Center under the China National Space Administration (CNSA).

From Gateway to China-Russia lunar station

The development follows Russia opting not to join eight nations, including the U.S., in signing on to the Artemis Accords last October. The Accords are a set of principles and norms for those who want to participate in the NASA-led Artemis lunar exploration program.

Bleddyn Bowen, a lecturer in international relations at the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom, told SpaceNews that the development is not such a surprise, given that Russia has always been lukewarm to the Lunar Gateway, part of the Artemis program, and this will have been factored in. However the project will still suffer from the loss of Russian expertise.

Bowen sees the move from Russia as an ISS partner to working more closely with China in lunar exploration rather than ISS partners is part of wider space-related and geopolitical shifts, particularly since the outbreak of the Ukranian conflict.

“This MoU fits the larger trend, which is Russia moving into a closer orbit with China,” says Bowen, adding that this more formal agreement builds on existing cooperation in material science, data sharing, purchase agreements and lunar exploration.

Bowen cautions however that this is “just a memorandum of understanding, so we’ll have to wait and what, if anything, comes from this”. 

Zhang Ming, a researcher on international security and space issues at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, told SpaceNews both China and Russia, who have long cooperated in space, have difficulties in working with the U.S. for different reasons. Zhang notes that Russia had expressed concerns that Artemis was too “U.S.-centric” and she would expect “more and more space and lunar cooperation between Russia and China” if the “United State continues its space policies and practices without any change.”

“The U.S. advances its space agenda aggressively and sometimes unilaterally in recent years despite the concerns of the rest [of the] world, which made China and Russia very worried. The mistrust and skepticism towards U.S. motives will promote China and Russia to further their space cooperation,” Zhang said.

Roscosmos chief Dmitry Rogozin last year told Russian media China and Russia had agreed they will “probably” build a moon research base together, following talks with Director of the China National Space Administration Zhang Kejian.

Brian Weeden of the Secure World Foundation also believes the split has been coming for sometime, citing the Ukraine invasion and 2016 election interference. “I think we’re at a much different US-Russia space relationship than we had for the past few decades.”

“I don’t think it’s going to have a serious impact on Artemis. Russia indeed has some experience in robotic lunar landers but no human spaceflight experience and their space sector has been declining for some time,” says Weeden. “The space partnership with Russia in the ISS was driven more by national security and foreign policy reasons than a need to have Russian expertise. It’s useful, but not critical.”

The European Space Agency has also been involved in discussions, while recently having signed an MoU with NASA on the Gateway. “At ESA we are following the Chinese lunar exploration plans very closely in order to see where our respective programmatic interest could meet, primarily the CE-6, -7 and -8 missions but also the ILRS initiative”, Karl Bergquist, ESA’s international relations administrator, told SpaceNews last year.

From Chang’e to ILRS

The ILRS is an evolutionary, expanded stage of Chinese lunar exploration following the approval of a first set of missions in the early 2000s. China has since launched two lunar orbiters, a pair of lander and rover missions and, in late 2020, the complex Chang’e-5 lunar sample return mission.

Chang’e-6, a polar sample return mission, and the multi-spacecraft Chang’e-7 are scheduled for around 2023-2024. The later Chang’e-8 mission will be designed for in-situ resource utilization and 3D-printing technology tests, as well as life science related to potential long-term stays on the moon. These missions will form the robotic basis of the ILRS before expansion into more long term base.

China is also developing capabilities for deep space human spaceflight. In May 2020 China tested a new generation spacecraft and is also developing a super-heavy-lift launcher for space infrastructure and lunar missions. A new, three-core launcher for potential crewed lunar missions is also in development.

According to him, humans should have become the strongest race in the universe, but the mortal body failed to thrive in the Earth’s environment, it can easily be harmed by sunlight, natural disasters, and diseases.

He said:

“Mankind is supposedly the most highly developed species on the planet, yet is surprisingly unsuited and ill-equipped for Earth’s environment: harmed by sunlight, a strong dislike for naturally occurring foods, ridiculously high rates of chronic disease, and more.”

Proof That Humans Were Not Evolved On Earth

Besides, he stated that during childbirth, the head of the baby is too big for the mother to push out, which sometimes causes fatalities or even death. But no animal on this planet have such problems.

According to Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution by natural selection, “individuals that are poorly adapted to their environment are less likely to survive and reproduce. Therefore their genes are less likely to be passed on to the next generation.”

It simply says that nature allows only those species which are fit for survival. Then why aren’t people developing now? If mankind evolved from chimpanzees, then why are monkeys not evolving?

Ellis wrote in his book that no civilization can survive on Earth because of all kinds of natural disasters, as a huge number of people die due to these disasters. Earth is far away from the center of the Milkyway, so it is hard to find other life forms or galactic civilizations. He believes that this is the reason why aliens chose Earth as the perfect place.

As compared to other animals, humans lag far behind the physical strength and size. Wild animals like tigers can easily kill a human. Ellis also stated that there is no way that humans could have survived in the wild in the past. All these signs made Ellis say that mankind had been evolved on another planet and then transported to Earth 200,000 years ago.
