A huge and luminous Submarine-UFO was photographed over a crowded city in China

Hello, I am a UFO enthusiast from China. I took a picture of a huge and luminous Submarine-UFO at 20:12 on June 2nd, 2018, over a crowded city.

Discussion of supernatural phenomena is not welcome in China，hope It can be provided to you for research.

Chapter 1 More Confusion
The sightings were compiled by witnesses in February 2021, in which three aspects were particularly strange:

1. The UFO disappeared about 10 seconds after coming into view.
2. The UFO was enormous and appeared over the city where people were gathered. The photographer, Mr. W, saw it, but his companion, Ms. B did not see it, nor did any other passersby.
3. The sky was some light when Mr. W witnessed the UFO. The captured UFO pictures were incredibly distorted in their overall color and had brightness values about twice as high as other photos. The iPhone X had difficulty taking the pictures (when the iPhone X was taking pictures, it was seriously disturbed).

Chapter 2 Witnesses and Photos
The story goes like this. Mr. W is a Chinese lawyer, on the afternoon of June 2, 2018, Mr. W and his companion Ms. B drove to County Miyi, City Panzhihua, Province Sichuan to handle some affairs, and to enjoy the scenery on both sides of River Anning and the night scene along the way.
See below the “Aerial view of County Miyi, City Panzhihua”. After driving away from the highway and entering the county, Mr. W parked his car in a parking spot, then together with his companion, Ms. B walked through the Bridge Renminlu below, and then along the viewing road by the river on the left, then they advanced to Bridge Dragon above.

See below “Original Picture 1 (Mobile No. IMG_1631, 20:12 photographed)”. Mr. W, located near the restroom, suddenly saw a UFO-like object, Its shape and size resembled a large submarine, over the buildings across the river. It was silent and motionless and glowed with slight light like the afterglow of the sun penetrating through thin clouds. It was obviously incompatible with the surrounding clouds and was very dazzling and eye-catching. Its magnificence dumbfounded Mr. W. However, the sun should not appear near in the position of Submarine-UFO in the sky at this time, after all, it was already past 8 p.m.
Mr. W immediately took a picture of the Submarine-UFO with the iPhone X in hand at the approximate position shown in Figure 1, and then couldn’t wait to see the details of the UFO through the zoom function of the mobile phone. But it was quite inconceivable that the photo had a serious color cast (or/and the brightness was high) and was very unusual, far from what Mr. W had witnessed with his eyes. The reason might be that, to go to the bathroom, Mr. W walked in front of his companion Ms. B. When Ms. B approached Mr. W, Mr. W originally intended to watch the strange object together with her. But Mr. W was surprised to find that perhaps within 10-30 seconds when he looked down at the photos, the Submarine-UFO had disappeared without a trace.
At that time, many people walking along the viewing road of the riverside after enjoying their dinner. People would look at the river and the scenery on the opposite bank. The two banks of the river were very wide, and the huge Submarine-UFO should have been seen or photographed by more people. But what is unbelievable is that Mr. W felt that people were not aware of this UFO, and even his companion Ms. B also said that she saw nothing.
The iPhone X photo has a resolution of 4032 x 3024, 5.88 times the video resolution 1920 x 1080, so Mr. W chose to take pictures and then to shoot a video. However the Submarine-UFO disappeared too fast, and unfortunately, there was no chance to shoot the video.
The 576 million pixels of the human eye is 48 times the 12 million pixels of the iPhone X photo, so Mr. W felt amazed at what he witnessed at the time and how it was completely different from the situation as shown by the photo. It’s a magnificence that can never be copied and imagined unless you are personally on the scene!

Chapter 3 Details of Photos
Description of photo details:

1. See below the “enlarged view of drew outline”. The Submarine-UFO has obvious geometric lines, the front resembles a streamlined structure of a revolving body, especially the front end looks like a cone or ellipse, and a small part of the middle area below the axis is protruding and similar to the pod parts (This feature may also be an illusion caused by part of the UFO being blocked by clouds). The back is similar to the stern structure, which is flat and inclined downward.
2. See below the “enlarged view of increased saturation”. The surrounding light clouds are floating around the dark Submarine-UFO and are incompatible with each other, and the latter shows no signs of being squeezed by the former.
3. See below the “iPhone X gallery thumbnails”. Except that the photo of the Submarine-UFO Figure 1 taken by the mobile phone shows the color cast or/and shiny effect as a whole, the color or/and luminance of other photos appear to be more normal thus an exception exists.

Chapter 4 Follow-up Observations
See below “Original Picture 2 (mobile phone number IMG_1632, 20:16 photographed)”. Mr. W saw a group of birds flying in the sky over the area, then using a mobile phone took pictures of the flying birds at the approximate position shown in Figure 2, but the traces of the Submarine-UFO were already gone. The local weather recorded on the Internet was “breeze, without continuous wind direction”. There was no surging wind and clouds were in a calm sky, and the UFO never re-appeared.

Mr. W and Ms. B walked to the highest point of the Dragon Bridge, using their mobile phones, they took pictures at the location shown in Figure 3 facing the direction they had just come from. At this time, the colorful lights on the building were brilliant and colorful, and the night was very charming, end.

Chapter 5 Photo Data
Attached photo data description:
The luminance of Figure 1 is 2.77, approximately 2 times the luminance of Figure 2, at 1.36. When consulted what condition could increase the luminance of a picture taken by iPhone X, the Chinese Apple customer service technician answered that the luminance of the subject itself increased. Relevant experts also believe that the flash of mobile phones will not affect the brightness of the distant view (especially buildings, the sky, and the Submarine-UFO on the other side of the river).

Figures 4 and 5 are photos taken at 21:51 after Mr. W and Ms. B arrived on the other side of the river. In close-up photography of people at night, Figure 5 has a flare brightness of about -2.16, an increase of 0.5 as compared with the -2.66 of Figure 4, taken without a flash.

Who was the Basilosaurus, the ‘king lizard’ that was neither king nor lizard?

The king of the lizards turned out to be the first fully ocean-dwelling whale.

Today, we know that the Basilosaurus is the first ancient whale humanity has ever found. But back when it was first described, the animal’s huge proportions earned it the name of ‘king lizard’. And although technically incorrect, the name isn’t undeserved; during its day, the Basilosaurus ruled the waters of Tethys with an iron flipper and a really impressive set of teeth.

This creature lived 40 to 35 million years ago, during a part of geologic time known as the late Eocene. The dinosaurs were quite well gone by this time, and mammals were well on the way to dominating the planet. The Basilosaurus was also a mammal — a whale, no less — and could grow up to 60 feet (a bit over 18m) in length. Needless to say, you can’t skip meals and grow so large. But this species likely had no issues getting full, as the Basilosaurus was, by all indications, a formidable apex predator.

It was first described in 1834 from fragments of a skeleton found in the US. Due to the sheer scale of the fossils, their striking similarity in shape and function to marine predatory dinosaurs, poor availability, and the limits of paleontological understanding of the day, the species was initially assumed to have been a dinosaur — and christened the ‘king of the lizards’, Basilosaurus

How come?

The academic story of this genus starts with B. cetoides, the first ancient whale species ever discovered, which was unearthed in Louisiana around 1830 by Richard Harlan and still serves as the type species of Basilosaurus.

Details from the dig and the wider goings-on around the fossils aren’t very good from the time, but we do know that bones from this dig were sent to the American Philosophical Society by Judge Henry Bry of Ouachita County, Louisiana and Judge John Creagh of Clarke County, Alabama, according to the Encyclopedia of Alabama. Here, they were examined by Richard Harlan, one of the US’s earliest paleontologists and naturalists, who would end up christening the new species.

Upon first examination, Harlan was very excited. Comparing the bones he received to those of Plesiosaurus and Mosasaurus, two species of marine dinosaurs that were already described at the time, he concluded that the new species grew no less than 80–100 ft (24–30 m) long. Still, there were enough structural similarities between its vertebrae and those of Plesiosaurus, as well as between its skull and that of Mosasaurus, for Harlan to assume that the species were related. At the very least, he assumed, they lived around the same time.

The first signs that this name wasn’t really spot-on came when Harlan took his specimens to the UK for consultation with his peers there. Richard Owen, a controversial figure but a superb paleontologist, observed that the animal’s molars were two-rooted. No known fish or reptile at the time showed the same structure, and Owen suggested the animal might have been a whale instead. The two even agreed to rename it Zeuglodon cetoides (“whale-like yoke teeth”).

A few years later the other known species, B. isis, would be described based on fragments of bone recovered from Egypt. Although the first full skeleton of B. isis wouldn’t be unearthed until 2016, the discovery of this species and its fossil association with species that were known to have been whales at the time further suggested that all Basilodons were, in fact, mammals. This was helped by the fact that Basilosaurus fossils actually became quite common over time, so much so that in the 19th century they were even used as andirons, furniture, or decoration.

Over the years, paleontologists have wisened up to the fact and tried to change the genus’ name. However, zoological naming conventions meant that the original name stuck. Today, the Basilosaurus is the state fossil for Alabama and Mississippi.

How did it used to live?

One thing that Harlan got right about the Basilosaurus was that it was large. This whale was bigger even than some predatory dinosaurs that came before it, and it undoubtedly threw its weight around the ancient, lost sea of Tethys.

Another thing it definitely threw around were bites. Unlike most whales today, Basilosaurus didn’t filter feed, it hunted. Its jaws were lined with several types of teeth, including molars and canines, which are specialized for chewing and ripping, respectively. Such teeth are characteristic of meat-eating species.

Two other important characteristics of the species are a skull asymmetry and a relatively low intracranial volume. The first is a trait it shares with modern toothed whales such as orcas. Today, this asymmetry is associated with whales’ ability to produce high-frequency sounds for echolocation; Basilosaurus likely didn’t have this ability, however, and its skull was asymmetrical in order to house a fatty sensory organ meant to help it hear underwater. The lack of room for a big brain inside its skull likely means that Basilosaurus was not a social species, like whales are today, and that it also wasn’t as capable from a cognitive standpoint.

Such traits can be indicative of an evolutionary ‘work-in-progress’. The Basilosaurus seems to have been the first whale species to live entirely underwater, marking the point where the lineage of walking whales finally took the plunge.

It most likely spent its day as a solitary hunter, or at most, one that lived in small groups. Social interactions are extremely demanding, from a cognitive point of view, and Basilosaurus’ brain just seems to have been too small to adequately navigate living in a group.

Still, who needs big brains when you have big brawns? Analysis of fossilized, scarred Dorudon skull bones — this is another genus of prehistoric whale that was the preferred prey of Basilosaurus — suggests that the king of lizards could bite down with 3,600 pounds per square inch (PSI).

To put things into perspective, that’s 233 times more pressure than a fully-loaded M1A2 main battle tank exerts on the ground under its tracks. Most industrial hydraulic presses in use today exert between 1,000 to 3,000 PSI, which is still under the estimated high ofr Basilosaurus. You do not want to get bitten by one of these.

With big bites, however, also comes good manners. Wear patterns on Basilosaurus teeth suggest that the animal bit and then chewed its food, unlike most predators today, whose teeth are specialized in ripping chunks of meat off the bone, that are then gulped up whole. In regards to what they ate, stomach contents seem to indicate that B. cetoides hunted fish and large sharks exclusively, while we know from Dorudon skulls that B. isis would also hunt these. Dorudon was a larger animal, related to today’s dolphins, and B. isis likely focused on delivering a killing blow to its head before tearing it apart while feeding (many Dorudon skeletons, especially those showing signs of predation from Basilosaurus, are found disarticulated).

King no more

The Basilosaur genus went extinct, with our last fossil evidence of them hailing from around 40 million years ago. They didn’t leave behind any direct descendants which, judging from their teeth, isn’t the worst thing to have ever happened.

We’re not entirely sure why they disappeared. Sometime around 40 million years ago, something happened to bring these toothy kings low. However, the fact that other toothed and baleen whales are around today suggests these smaller relatives of the Basilosaurus out-competed them in the end. It might have been their big brains, it might have been their social nature, it could even have been their more modest appetites; for now, it remains a mystery.

Curious Kids: We have been trying to contact aliens – but do they want to contact us?

San Diego often tops the lists of people looking to move to a place with great temperatures, great beaches, and great amenities. It rarely appears on the lists of places with great booms – until recently when the beautiful California city was suddenly hit by mysterious booms that no one seems to know the source of or wants to take credit for. Residents, tourists bureaus, animals at the San Diego Zoo – they all want to cool it with the boom booms. Will that happen or will San Diego end up like so many other locales around the world with no answers to the mysterious sounds they’re being plagued by?

“People from Del Mar to Chula Vista took to social media Wednesday afternoon to report a “boom” that shook doors and startled pets, leading many to speculate that the region had experienced a short, mild earthquake. Posts on Twitter and Facebook described a loud boom, accompanied by shaking doors and cabinets.”

That afternoon boom was reported by the San Diego Tribune on January 15, 2020. A U.S. Geological Survey spokesman quickly said it wasn’t an earthquake, an ongoing exercise at Camp Pendleton with artillery fire had been canceled for the day, the San Diego-based Naval Air Forces said none of the Navy’s aircraft were the source of the boom, and Marine Corps officials from the MCAS Miramar-based 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing also denied responsibility. That boom remained unsolved.

“Some sort of weird shaking thing happened in San Diego a few minutes ago. Didn’t feel like an earthquake. More like a bizarre wind gust. Not sure what it was, but I’m not in favor of more bad things happening.”

One year later, on the afternoon of February 16, 2021, San Diego got hit by another boom which the USGA quickly reported was not an earthquake. Reports on this one came from Rancho Bernardo on the north side, 30 miles south from Chula Vista and 30 miles east from El Cajon. This time, no reported comments from the military.

“For the second time in about three weeks, residents from across San Diego County reported feeling a mysterious shaking — or in some cases hearing a loud boom — late in the afternoon Wednesday.”

That was around 5 pm on March 10, 2021, and the USGA reported that it was not an earthquake. (Do you detect a pattern here?) Again, no reported comments from the military, but local officials seem to be ruling out sonic booms or artillery fire anyway. A new theory came from Humberto Mendoza Garcilazo, a researcher at the Center of Scientific Research and Higher Education, who suspected stormy weather and atmospheric pressure changes, but National Weather Service meteorologist Brandt Maxwell told the San Diego Union Tribune there were no thunderstorms in the area and “even with a strong cold front, you won’t get that kind of rumbling.”

So, no answers … only denials and silence. The booms occurred in the same area at about the same time of day. Earthquakes and weather are easy to rule out – records of both are in the public domain. The military is supposed to notify the public of unusual noise occurrence due to exercises or testing – but no one would be surprised if secret operations were not reported until possibly later with an “Oops, we’re sorry.” However, that hasn’t happened in San Diego. These booms bracket the coronavirus pandemic – could they be from secret military operations related to it? If the military is ruled out, what else could they be?

That’s the question being asked around the world as these mysterious sounds are heard more and more frequently. The media seems concerned in the moment, but quickly moves on to the next big news. Is it time for an independent organization to investigate these booms? Are there secret files or a secret internal group for mysterious booms like there is for UFOs? Both are possible security threats.

We’ll continue to report these mysterious sounds until someone gives an answer. Until then, report, record and repeat.

People reported feeling the windows and doors of their homes rattle as the United States Geological Survey said it did not record even a slight earthquake, the San Diego Union Tribune reported.

However, one Twitter user noted that the Southern California Seismic Network, a co-operative project of Caltech and the USGS, recorded what appears to be the boom on a live feed on YouTube of its seismograph.

The thunderous noise caused other social media users to contemplate what may have caused the sound, with top theories being: fighter jets from the nearby Camp Pendleton military base and stormy weather.

However, the military theory may have been ruled out, the Union Tribune reported.

'That wasn't one of ours,' Cmdr. Zachary Harrell, a Navy spokesman, told the outlet.

Harrell noted that military jets are required to break the sound barrier far off the coast where they would not be heard.

One Twitter user speculated the sound came from artillery rounds at Camp Pendleton.

'Live in Valley Center, North County and assumed it was just a much louder round of artillery at Camp Pendleton. Website says they are doing Mortar Fire all day and I thought I heard some earlier and again this evening,' @scarrcats tweeted.

Officials with Camp Pendleton confirmed to KGTV that soldiers were conducting artillery training on Wednesday but could not confirm if that was responsible for the boom.

“Some sort of weird shaking thing happened in San Diego a few minutes ago. Didn’t feel like an earthquake. More like a bizarre wind gust. Not sure what it was, but I’m not in favor of more bad things happening.”

The Marines and local defense contractors that operate at Pendleton and other nearby bases did not respond to requests for comment from the outlet.

Another Twitter user simply surmised 'aliens' after the boom was felt in San Diego on Wednesday

San Diego County Sheriff's Department received calls about the boom but KSWB-TV that they did not know what caused it.

A researcher at the Center of Scientific Research and Higher Education told the Union Tribune that supersonic airplanes could have caused the 'rumble.' 

But Humberto Mendoza Garcilazo also suggested it could may have been caused by stormy weather and atmospheric pressure changes, the Union Tribune reported.

National Weather Service meteorologist Brandt Maxwell told the outlet he was skeptical that it was caused by weather. 

There were no thunderstorms in the area at the time of the boom and 'even with a strong cold front, you won't get that kind of rumbling,' he told the outlet.

Another Twitter user simply explained: 'Aliens.'

Not Science Fiction: German Physicists Say Traversable Wormholes Possible

Wormholes Could Allow Travel Across the Universe, as Long as Your Spacecraft is Microscopic

In my last post, I talked about the idea of warp drive and whether it might one day be possible. Today I’ll talk about another faster-than-light trick: wormholes.

Wormholes are an old idea in general relativity. It’s based on work by Albert Einstein and Nathan Rosen, who tried to figure out how elementary particles might behave in curved spacetime. Their idea treated particle-antiparticle pairs as two ends of a spacetime tube. This Einstein-Rosen Bridge would look like a black hole on one end, and an anti-black hole, or white hole, on the other end.

The particle physics idea never panned out, but work inspired other researchers to study ER-bridges as a possible shortcut through space. If wormholes were traversable, you could burrow through spacetime like a worm burrowing a hole through an apple. It didn’t take long for theorists to discover this wouldn’t work. Although wormholes are valid solutions to Einstein’s equations, they collapse so quickly you’d never have time to go through them. In general relativity, wormholes aren’t traversable.

Of course, impossibility never stops a persistent theoretician, and soon they figured out you could make a wormhole traversable by lining it with some kind of negative energy. The same kind of negative energy that could be used for warp drive. But as I mentioned last time, matter with negative mass/energy doesn’t seem to exist.

But all is not lost. We know that Einstein’s theory must break down at quantum scales because it is a classical theory. Presumably, there is some quantum theory of gravity that supplants general relativity. We don’t yet have a complete quantum gravity model, but we do have several approximate models that will point us in the right direction.

One of these models is known as the Einstein-Dirac-Maxwell theory. It is so named because it includes aspects of Einstein’s theory of gravity, Maxwell’s theory of electromagnetism, and Dirac’s theory of quantum particles. Recently a team found a wormhole solution to the Einstein-Dirac-Maxwell equations.

The team found that their wormhole solution was fully traversable. What’s more, the solution doesn’t require any negative-energy states. In principle, that would allow you to travel through the wormhole without needing negative mass. The only catch is that you would need to be in a quantum state. So microscopic clumps of atoms could travel through this wormhole, but not people.

While this is interesting work, it is just a toy model. There are lots of solutions to Einstein’s equations that can’t exist for reasons beyond gravity. The team plans to explore their idea further to see if their solution is yet another impossible idea, or whether there might be a way to create this kind of quantum wormhole. And if this idea does work, it will still be easier to pass through the eye of a needle than it will be to enter the distant heavens.

An eyewitness in Puerto Rico yesterday noticed some strange lights moving around the sky. Then dogs began barking for no reason. Just like in many past UFO reports...animals often sense the alien presence nearby and began to panic. Here we hear the dogs barking crazily. This is a sign...that the sighting is real. Some people will mistakenly call these search lights, but they are not. They are alien entities that are made of pure energy.

UFO Sighting, 4 UFOs On Space Station Cam, 3-13-2021, MUFON News.

This eyewitness recorded several UFOs near the space station on live cam. There is at least four UFOs flying past all in different directions. But there may be more. The live ISS cam is aimed at the earth, so the objects are flying between the space station and the earths orbit. One of the objects comes very close to the space station and should have aroused alarms to awaken the astronauts on board the station. NASA doesn't tell us what these things are, but they could be UFOs. They could also be satellites. This year seems to have had hundreds of satellites released into earths orbit by SpaceX. So...its hard to say what these thing really are. But one thing is for sure...they are unidentified, they are flying and they are objects...UFOs.

UFO Sighting Over moon by Astronomer in Italy While Cleaning Telescope April 29, 2007.

On April 29, 2007 Alberto Mayer who lives in Busto Arisizio, Italy and is an amateur astronomer found an incredible discovery almost by accident. He states that while adjusting the focus of his telescope that night at 10:52 pm, when he spotted and tracked on video a UFO as it flew across the surface of the moon. The short two-minute video he made seems more that of a professional astronomer than an amateur, but he prefers to be called amateur. The video shows the portions of the moon that he was focused on in close up mode while tracking a solid black round object as it flew over the surface of the moon at an elevation he measured to be 214 meters above the moons surface. This video is absolutely amazing, both in the way he put it together and in its organization. The round black item is tracked as he catches it on its journey beginning just after it passed Wallace crater and then passes over Wallace Alps, then on its way it passes below or near these craters, Egede, Eudoxus, Plana. As it passes Plana crater and comes between Daniell & Grace crater, it hovers and hesitates for about 15 seconds, before it makes a sudden change of path at an exact 45-degree angle. Also note that before it turned, 32 seconds into the video it abruptly slowed down to half its original speed before it suddenly hesitated for 15 seconds, and then moved upward at a 45-degree angle. As it moves upwards, you can see it passed the labeled craters on the moon in this order, Grace, Plana, Borg, Bally A, Bally, Gartner, Democritus, Moigno A, Baillaud, and De sitter before it disappears around the moons edges to the dark side, out of the telescopes view. As the black UFO passes by Grace crater, it began to not only speed up, but also continue to pick up momentum until it was 1.75-2.0 times faster than it was when first seen traveling past Wallace Alps! Daytime UFO sighting of a fast UFO over Newcastle , UK 13-Mar-2021

Spherical like object travelling at high speed over Newcastle upon Tyne in UK, the most populous city and metropolitan borough in North East England. Filmed on 13th March 2021.

Witness report: 

Reflective flash drew my attention to the object which i thought was a helium balloon at first, then noticed it was traveling at speed towards my location horizontally.
Flight path was in front of low clouds, clear sunny day not raining, ufo disappears out of sight behind tree branches.
After looking at video a couple more ufo’s appears to be present to the right hand side tree.
After looking at video frame by frame it looks like it moves from point to point.
In one frame two ufo disappear from screen and appear to leave a white mark in the cloud and then reappear.

20,000-year-old “submerged pyramid”: Atlantis described by Plato?

The golden dream of archeology would be to find Atlantis . For some a fantastic place, however, there are records of this continent for centuries. Now, a submerged pyramid reopens the debates about its existence.

The pyramid could be 20,000 years old and be in the same location where Plato claimed to have found the mythical city.

The birth of the legend

It is Solon the Athenian politician, legislator and statesman who makes Atlantis known to the world, after his meeting with the Egyptian priest Sonchis de Sais, on one of his trips to the African country.

The priest told the story of a city that existed some 9,000 years before his time . In Plato’s dialogues “Timaeus” and “Critias” Solon invokes Plato and claims that it is he who will tell the location of Atlantis.

For Plato, Atlantis is the source of history , an energetic island that appears as a great military power 9,000 years before the legislator Solon.

Larger than Libya and Asia Minor together, located after the Pillars of Hercules. Its power was so immense that it conquered Western Europe, North Africa, until Athens could stop it.

It was at the same time that an unprecedented cataclysm completely wiped out the armies and the island.

Plato mentions:

“Through violent earthquakes and floods, in a single day and night of misfortune … [The entire race] … was absorbed by Earth and the island of Atlantis … disappeared into the depths of the sea.”

The sea where Atlantis was located was no longer navigated because there were very few survivors, Athens and Greece forgot the disaster .

However, Egypt does remember the stories of that city. A manuscript that mentions Citrias, says that his legacy was preserved for thousands of years until he reached Solon.

Submerged pyramid would reveal the existence of Atlantis

Experts wonder what exists behind the columns of Hercules that could suggest that Atlantis was there?

Currently there are 9 volcanic islands that make up the Azores, a place located more than 1,000 kilometers from Lisbon, the capital of Portugal.

In recent years, experts have identified a huge structure near the islands of São Miguel and Terceira in the Azores that could be a submerged pyramid.

Surprisingly, the islands of the Azores is the exact place that Plato mentions as the area where Atlantis existed.

Several experts discovered that the submerged pyramid is perfectly square , with an equally exact orientation at its cardinal points .

Scientists confirm that the structure has been under the sea for at least 20,000 years. Or from the time when the glaciers on Earth melted, after the last Ice Age.

The Portuguese media attributed their find to Diocleciano Silva . According to his estimates, the pyramid measures at least 8,000 square meters and 60 meters high.

A mysterious video recently submitted to MUFON (Mutual UFO Network), a US-based non-profit organization that studies alleged UFO sighting is now the hottest debating topic among conspiracy theorists and alien believers. In the video, apparently shot from Tennessee, a glowing disc-shaped flying object can be seen hovering in the night skies. Even though the video clip was shot last year, it was submitted to MUFON recently. 

Eyewitness statement about UFO

The eyewitness who saw the alleged UFO sighting claimed that the event took place in Hillsboro. Initially, the eyewitness thought that the glowing object could be Venus, but he decided to take a closer look using his telescope, as the planet appeared on the wrong side of the sky. 

"Appeared to be a planet like Venus looks in the evening but was in the wrong part of the sky. So I got my telescope out and was amazed at what I saw. Almost jellyfish-like with bright blinding lights evenly spaced around the rim," said the eyewitness. 

After watching the video, several people started claiming that aliens have visited earth, and they could be gearing up for an invasion. 

Alien hunter assures presence of extraterrestrials on earth

The video was later analyzed by self-styled alien hunter Scott C Waring, who is known for making unbelievable claims regarding extraterrestrial existence on earth. Waring, on his website UFO Sightings Daily claimed that the disc-shaped UFO spotted in the skies, had an antenna on its top center and a glowing window around its center. 

"It's actually a classic disk but is attempting to create a cloud form around it causing it to appear thicker than it really is. The second photo above is proof of this. This is a rare sighting of a real glowing disk at night over Tennessee. The real kicker is that it has an antenna on its top center...just as scientist Bob Lazar who worked in Area S4 inside Area 51 said some disks have and will fly tiling at an angle. The antenna is actually the source of its movement. Not engines...but direction movement. The actual propulsion systems are separate," wrote Waring on his website. 

A few weeks back, Haim Eshed, a former Israeli space security chief had claimed that alien existence on earth is real. He also added that the United States and Israel are working together with an advanced alien species.

Declassified CIA Document Claims Carl Jung Accused U.S. Air Force of Covering Up Truth About UFOs

  A document archived by the CIA from 1959 and later declassified claims Carl Jung accused the U.S. Air Force of a UFO coverup. Fast forward to 2021 and we now know that the Air Force and other agencies have surrounded this topic with secrecy.

  Can we rely on government agencies and mainstream media for any type of truth on this topic, or will they attempt to manipulate and control our perception of it for other purposes? Is "contact" a citizens initiative?

What Happened: 

Roscoe Hillenkoetter, the very first director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) once said that “It is time for the truth to be brought out…Behind the scenes, high ranking Air Force officials are soberly concerned about UFOs. But through official secrecy and ridicule, many citizens are led to believe the unknown flying objects are nonsense. I urge immediate Congressional action to reduce the dangers from secrecy about Unidentified Flying Objects

He said this decades ago. Hillenkoetter is also mentioned in this declassified document archived and released by the CIA. This particular document also mentions Carl Jung. It reads as follows:

This is a reply to the letter (Aug. 6) criticizing Dr. Carl Jung for his belief in flying saucers and his charges that the Air Force has been covering up the truth about these objects. I would like to point out that Dr. Jung is not the first person of integrity and reputation who has made such charges. He is merely the latest. Exactly the same charge has been made by Admiral Delmar Fahrney, former director of the naval guided missile research program, and by R.M. Hillenkoetter, former chief of the Central Intelligence Agency. Both of these men would be in a position to know how much the AF investigation of saucers really found.

The piece was written by Fred A. Kirsch, a well known UFO researcher.

So what did they really find? Keep in mind this document is from 1959, it’s now 2021. How much has been discovered and how much has been kept from the public? In his very last interview before his death, Colonel Robert Friend, who from 1958-1962  was a director of Project Blue Book (U.S. Air Force UFO investigation project) suggests the U.S. Air Force knew what these object were. Fast forward to today, and we now have “abundant evidence that we are being contacted, that civilizations have been visiting us for a very long time.”

The document goes on:

If Jung were the only responsible person to make such charges, we could brush the whole thing off as nonsense. However, when a number of pilots, radar operators, and other trained observers agree that the UFOs are real, a serious reappraisal of the situation is in order.

Today, UFOs have gone mainstream, and the same information is being emphasized. For example, Christopher Mellon, who was the former Deputy Assistant Defense Secretary for Intelligence from 1997 to 2002, recently made an appearance on CNN stating the  same facts about these objects. Many people have concerns about “mainstream UFO disclosure” given the fact that governments and mainstream media, according to many, have deceived the public on so many occasions. You can read a deeper discussion about that here, if interested.

The same year that this document pertaining to Jung was written, he released his book called  Flying Saucers: A Modern Myth of Things Seen in the Skies, which examines “not the reality or unreality” of the titular phenomena, but their “psychic aspect,” and “what it may signify that these phenomena, whether real or imagined, are seen in such numbers just at a time” — the Cold War — “when humankind is menaced as never before in history.”

It seems, in my opinion, he was quite convinced of the phenomenon. Especially given the fact that he accused the Air Force of a cover-up. Again, fast forward to today and we now know he was right.

In 1957,  New Republic editor Gilbert A. Harrison wanted to get this Jung’s perspective on UFOs in his magazine. You can see (via The Awl) a scan of Jung’s response to Harrison’s query, the text reads as follows:

The problem of the Ufos is, as you rightly say, a very fascinating one, but it is as puzzling as it is fascinating; since, in spite of all observations I know of, there is no certainty about their very nature. On the other side, there is an overwhelming material pointing to their legendary or mythological aspect. As a matter of fact the psychological aspect is so impressive, that one almost must regret that the Ufos seem to be real after all. I have followed up the literature as much as possible and it looks to me as if something were seen and even confirmed by radar, but nobody knows exactly what is seen. In consideration of the psychological aspect of the phenomenon I have written a booklet about it, which is soon to appear. It is also in the process of being translated into English. Unfortunately being occupied with other tasks I am unable to meet your proposition. Being rather old, I have to economize my energies.

Jung’s approach to UFOs was clearly binary. It would seem, especially given the claims in the CIA document that he believed them to be real, but was uncertain of their very nature and what they actually represented.

At the time, “academics”  were well aware of the UFO phenomenon. Many decades ago Wernher Von Brauns mentor Hermann Oberth, the founding father of rocketry and astronautics, also known as the ‘father of Spaceflight’ stated his belief that “flying saucers are real” and that “they are space ships from another solar system. I think that they possibly are manned by intelligent observers who are members of a race that may have been investigating our Earth for centuries.” He wrote these words in “Flying Saucers Come From A Distant World”, The American  Weekly, Oct 24, 1954.

It’s hard to believe that for all these years, despite the fact that evidence clearly suggested otherwise, that UFOs were thrown into the “conspiracy theory” bucket and one was made out to be a lunatic for even mentioning the possibility that they were real and possibly extraterrestrial. Today, it’s a much different story, but there is still a lot to uncover.

Debunking misinformation: FLIR1 (UAP) is really a jet

When it comes to the highly complex issue of UFOs (UAPs), the debunking of misinformation is critically important. Most notably, it becomes imperative to ensure that ‘Unidentified’ objects don’t get labeled as ‘extraterrestrial’. This is misinformation, mainly due to the fact that it is not supported by facts or solid evidence. Only an established government task force or DOD program that has access to radar data and/or certain materials should ever have the authority to determine such an extreme classification.

And this works both ways. We should not label various UAP military encounters as planes, balloons, drones or birds without official classification of an appropriate government investigation body.  Unfortunately, that is exactly what is happening. Established debunker and sceptic Mick West has taken to trying to explain away the Gimble, Go Fast and FLIR1 videos as planes, balloons, drones or birds. Most recently Mick tries to imply that the FLIR1 object captured by Lt. Chad Underwood was a fighter plane without clarifying the alternatives as to why it might not be a plane, or without clarifying that the official DOD classification itself was ‘Unidentified’ and not a plane.

For anyone who has worked in academia or research, they would know that when you propose a hypothesis you must work to disprove it as much as you are looking to prove it. Science doesn’t care what the end result is, it cares about using an appropriate assessment methodology, accounting for all the factors, not just the ones which build your own narrative to reach the final conclusion.

Mick West isn’t doing that. That’s not a criticism against him as a person, but his methodology is highly flawed. There are critical issues within his approach across all three UAP videos, from Go Fast, to Gimble to FLIR1, all of which arguably stem from researcher bias. Then we have the issue of ‘disassociating data’. In order to fully understand the mindset we need to think like Mick.

Let’s work backwards from the assumption FLIR1 is a plane. I ask myself, how could I do it?

Ok. We know it’s a simple case of misidentified plane, so let’s work to see HOW we can prove it’s a plane. Firstly, we need to set about separating the Chad Underwood video from the eye witness accounts of Cmdr. David Fravor, James Slaight and Anon female wing pilot. Through doing we can eliminate the tricky issue of having to deal with a lot of well meaning, but confused pilots. Also, by doing this we reduce the chances that the ‘hyper acceleration’ of the plane was anything unusual and in fact just a locking glitch issue.

It’s important at this point that we ignore the relevance of missing radar data, because surely that radar data would track the planes final destination or origin as it engaged highly sensitive military airspace.

Another issue to overcome, planes don’t evade the most sophisticated, billion dollar defense strike groups that includes fighter jets and a AN/SPY1 tracking system that reaches over 300km (186 miles), particularly when they have entered into military airspace. So we have to imply and work on the assumption that the plane was misidentified by the military and somehow they weren’t able to identify it as a plane.

Another problem I face is that somehow I have to convince people that the nuclear strike group Nimitz and multiple Navy Pilot’s have never encountered another plane or captured one on FLIR gun camera footage prior to that moment. Simply put, I won’t mention it.

Also, it important to ignore other additional data such as other navy pilots such as Lieutenant Colonel “Cheeks” Kurth, a Marine Hornet squadron commanding officer who intercepted the Tic-Tac.

With this in mind, it is also important that we not mention missing testimony of three additional airmen/pilots on Chad Underwood’s encounter (2 fighter jets, 4 people). It’s also imperative that we don’t make a point of not requesting the data be forthcoming. What would be the point, we know it’s a plane, we’ve established it’s a plane and any incoming data might only serve to damage that established fact.

At this point, we should move forward on a two pronged approach. Firstly, we create multiple video that have scientific merit in their own right, but have little relation the real world incident. Secondly, we repeat the claim over and over, without ever conceding, which acts as a psychological stimulus under an ‘illusion of truth’ approach.

That’s how I would have ensured FLIR1 object was presented as a plane. Obviously, as you can see, there are multiple critical flaws in my approach. Overall, I am ignoring the overall, holistic picture with regard to FLIR1 + Tic-Tac, and the entire initiative.

The U.S. Government (The Senate Armed Forces Committee and the Select Senate Committee for Intelligence) created a UAP Task Force to investigate objects such as the ones reported on record in classified congressional briefings. These same Navy pilots involved have been in front of congress.

“In regards to the Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force mentioned in Times, Gough confirms the Department of Defense “is creating a task force to gain knowledge and insight into the nature and origins of UAPs,” as well as their “operations, capabilities, performance, and/or signatures.

The mission, Gough says, “will be to detect, analyze, catalog, consolidate, and exploit non-traditional aerospace vehicles/UAPs posing an operational threat to U.S. national security and avoid strategic surprise.”

The acknowledgement from the SSCI that there is an unidentified phenomenon engaging the military is a massive issue for Mick West. Generally, a UAP task force isn’t created on the misidentification of planes, balloons or birds. Given the advanced billion dollar technology of the Department of Defense it is highly unlikely that such identification systems could fail so badly to the point misinformation reached congress and then they act on that data.

‘The SPY-1 can maintain continuous radar surveillance while automatically tracking more than 100 targets at one time. Public numerical figures on the SPY-1 detection range claim that it can detect a golf ball-sized target at ranges in excess of 165 km. When applied to a ballistic missile-sized target, the SPY-1 radar is estimated to have a range of 310 km. The system is designed for blue water and littoral operations however SPY-1 configuration must be modified to look above the terrain to avoid causing excessive false targets from land clutter. Configuration changes to mitigate this technical issue have made it more difficult for AN/SPY-1 to identify and track low and fast targets.‘

And finally, with regards to FLIR1, the DOD gave the object a classification of ‘Unidentified’.

‘DOD is releasing the videos in order to clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real, or whether or not there is more to the videos. The aerial phenomena observed in the videos remain characterized as “unidentified.”’

That means that the incursions and the objects in the three videos have (as you would might expect) been thoroughly analysed to reach a classification of Unidentified.

Consider this, the great work by Roger Glassel (see below the full transcript from BlurryLines), he gets a response form the pentagon on UAP classification.

There are some very interesting questions and answers, but, no more so than the very last question 7.

7) Q: If an observer initially characterize an observation as unidentified 
aerial phenomena, that he or she cannot 
immediately identify, and the 
observation cannot later be explained 
after an analysis by the UAPTF, or any 
other component, what will such 
observation be categorized as?

A: ‘Unidentified’

That means that to reach the classification of ‘Unidentified’, a thorough assessment by DOD is performed.
So in summary, and in the case of FLIR1, for it to be a plane it means that the United States government is unable to identify a plane as it enters the secure airspace of a nuclear strike group. This is misinformation and needs to be stamped out in all forms, whether it be claims of extraterrestrials or planes, we simply don’t have the data to conclude.

Sitting out in Lincoln National Forest, near Ruidoso, not far from Santa Fe, New Mexico, is a reservoir that at first might seem to be a perfectly peaceful and placid place. It’s called Bonito Lake, and among locals it is a popular place to go for a day outdoors. Here one can see fishermen, campers, and families having picnics at the lakeshore, making it all seem like a nice little spot for a day out. Yet beneath its placid water Bonito Lake holds a dark secret that many of the visitors might not be aware of, and indeed the very area is pervaded by a grim history of disaster, murder, and hauntings that thrums below the quiet exterior.

In the mid-1800s, the Gold Rush in California and the southwest was causing a major epidemic of gold fever. People from all over the country were rushing in with dreams of striking it rich, with mining camps springing up anywhere gold was rumored to be, and Bonito City, New Mexico, was one of these places. Starting as a simple ragtag collection of dusty miner tents, as more gold hungry people flooded in it grew exponentially, until by the mid-1880s it included many permanent structures such as a schoolhouse, three general stores, a saloon, a post office, a hotel, a boarding house, a blacksmith and even a law office. At one point, Bonito City and Lincoln country was supposedly the most populous place in New Mexico, but it was also a lawless, wild place full of outlaws, thieves, bandits, and other unsavory elements, as well as a place of frequent violence such as shootouts and even a Lincoln County War, but one gruesome incident in particular would stick into the region’s history like a thorn.

Bonito Lake

In 1885 a miner by the name of Martin Nelson came to town looking to get rich just like everyone else, although many in town saw him as nothing more than a drifter up to no good. As soon as Nelson arrived, there was a wave of thefts, usually small but noticeable in how frequent they were. A lot of people suspected that Nelson was a thief, but no one could prove it. At the time, Nelson was staying at the town boarding house, run by a family called the Mayberrys, where he shared a room with a Dr. William H. Flynn of Boston. According to the tale, one day, Nelson couldn’t resist stealing Dr. Flynn’s fancy watch, but he was caught in the act. Nelson called out to the Mayberry’s and they came running to the room, where Nelson was caught red-handed and panicked. Unfortunately for Flynn and the Mayberrys, Nelson was usually armed, and in his panicked state he fired on them with his .38 caliber rifle, killing Flynn, John Mayberry, Sr., and his two sons, John Jr. and Eddie. Mrs. Mayberry, as well as wounding Mrs. Mayberry and her daughter Nellie, who tried to flee. Not wanting any witnesses, Nelson allegedly chased them to shoot them both in the back and kill Mrs. Mayberry, but for some reason he spared Nellie and let her live. The carnage increased when the saloon owner Pete Nelson (no relation), came running to see what the commotion was about and he was shot and killed too. After this a standoff ensued, with Nelson killing another man, grocer Herman Beck, as he made a run for it. After this, Nelson didn’t get far, either shot by the Sherriff or killed by a posse, depending on the version of the story. At the time it was an absolutely shocking development, one of the worst atrocities the region had ever seen, and historian Lynda Sanchez has said of it:

Even the bloody Lincoln County War with its mayhem and destruction seems a bit pale by comparison to that one night of rampage by Nelson, the man to whom these murders were attributed. The violence, the blood, the macabre scenario that will forever haunt that beautiful lake country is difficult to comprehend. Was it greed only, or someone gone mad at the wrong time? What tipped the balance of sanity and changed him into a devil whirlwind of destruction? There are many theories. It probably was the wantonness and the suddenness of the murders that shocked everyone, she said. During the time of Billy the Kid, there were two sides to that violence and the conflict went on for months and many more were killed, but that situation was a ‘war. You knew what to expect. But to have this fiend from hell come at you in the middle of the night must have been indescribable.

This is the main narrative, but details vary in different versions of the event, yet they nevertheless all agree that Nelson went on a deadly shooting massacre, and that after his death, Nelson was unceremoniously buried in a simple wooden box on unconsecrated land outside the city cemetery. In the wake of this horrific bloodbath, the Mayberry boarding house was closed and left abandoned, and it did not take long at all for it to start gaining a reputation as being haunted. People described lights on in the boarding house when no one was there, anomalous noises including disembodied screams and phantom gunshots, and bloody footprints appearing and disappearing. Even scarier were reports that the ghosts of both Nelson and the victims of his murderous crime could be seen lurking about on the property. Those who were brave enough to try and enter the boarding house were said to come out screaming or to go mad from what they had seen inside. The place was considered haunted, cursed, or both, prowled by ghosts and its very walls imbued with its bloody history.

Things went on like for decades, then in 1920 the Southern Pacific Railroad began construction of a dam in the area, which meant that Bonito City was soon to become a lake. The city had already been steadily on the decline, with less and less gold being found and shops closing down one after the other. The remaining residents were told that they had to leave, the remaining buildings either torn down or left abandoned as is to await their watery fate. Eventually, by 1930 the entirety of what had once been Bonito City was underwater, now Bonito Lake. The graves of Nelson’s victims were moved to another cemetery in nearby Angus, New Mexico, before this happened, but Nelson’s body remained.

It is likely that this is why even to this day Nelson’s restless spirit is said to haunt the lake. Visitors have reported seeing the apparition of a man in old fashioned clothing, thought to be Nelson, wandering along the lake shore only to vanish into thin air, and he has even purportedly been seen eerily floating about under the surface of the water. Interestingly, most of the many visitors to the lake are completely unaware that there was once a city beneath the waves here, nor that it was the scene of such a dark piece of local history. Are there mysterious forces surrounding this place? Does this location’s dark roots imbue it with supernatural phenomena? Who knows, but it is all an interesting piece of lore and an intriguing supposed local haunting all the same.

If a UFO falls in Siberia, can any Russian officials agree on what it was? If the recent bright ball of flaming UFO recorded passing over the village of Ust-Nera is any indication, the answer is a resounding “Nyet!” Some say rocket, some say meteor, some say falling batteries (really!), but no one seems to be saying “Da, I agree with you.” Could it have something to do with the fact that the road leading into Ust-Nera is called the “Road of Bones”?

“A video from the remote, frozen northern Russian village of Ust-Nera has gone viral online after locals spotted a seemingly burning unidentified flying object, with a clearly visible trail in the pitch-black Siberian night sky. Ust-Nera, which has a population of around 5,000, is one of the world’s coldest permanently inhabited settlements, with current temperatures dropping to around -32C at night. Founded in the 1930s, it is located on what is known as the ‘Road of Bones’.”

Rt.com reported that the flaming object passed over Ust-Nera at 8 pm on March 12 and posted a video from a witness (watch it here). The initial theory as to the cause of the UFO came from Viktor Grokhovsky, “an expert on meteorites at the Russian Academy of Sciences,” who blamed the UFO on 2.5 tons of dead batteries reportedly dumped by the crew of the International Space Station on March 11. Grokhovsky doesn’t say if they were Russian or American batteries, but Georgy Goncharov from the Pulkovo Astronomical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences disagreed, saying he thought it was a meteorite.

“Judging by the US Air Force data published on the website space-track.org, this object could well have been the Fregat upper stage, which in 2009 put the Meteor-M satellite into orbit.”

While the U.S. space program seems to have no official comment on the UFO, Sputnik News (via Urdupoint.com) reports that Russian space expert Igor Lysov checked it out with the US Air Force website space-track.org and thinks the object was part of a Russian rocket used in 2009 to launch a Meteor-M weather satellite — a series of spacecraft that date back to the Soviet Union days, as do the “Fregat” upper stage rockets. The Russian site Yakutia.mk.ru reported that Roscosmos, the Russian space program, approved that message.

So, why did one scientist blame ISS batteries (which, by the way, won’t burn out in the atmosphere for at least two years) and another blame a meteor? Could it have something to do with the Road of Bones? R504 Kolyma Highway is so cold, drivers won’t turn their ignitions off for fear of not being able to start them up again and freezing to death. However, the “Kolyma” in its name refers to a different kind of bones – the bones of those who died in Gulag camps along the Kolyma riverbed. Former Kolyma prisoner Varlam Shalamov wrote of working outside in temperatures as low as -50°C (-58°F) to mine iron ores, radioactive uranium and gold. Gold in Siberia?

“One of the most difficult labor was gold mining – workers had to wash up gold in water, even in the coldest days. They were not fed enough, they didn’t have proper clothes for such frost and their gloves (if they ever had ones) didn’t dry out. They constantly got frostbites and suffered from a range of illnesses, from dystrophy to tuberculosis, which they couldn’t get treatment for.”

As Russia Beyond explains, Russian officials cared more for the materials than the men, so they built more than 3,000 km (1864 miles) of roads, including a more than 2,000 km (1,242 miles) stretch from the city of Magadan to Yakutsk – the ‘Kolyma tract’ that earned its nickname — ‘Road of Bones’ – by taking 20 frigid years to build in order to take minerals out of a Gulag that killed more than more than 125 thousand people while it was in operation.

Is the ‘Just a rocket part from 2009 … nothing to see here … move along’ statement by Russian officials an attempt to hide the shame of the Road of Bones? Perhaps we should thank the UFO for lighting up Ust-Nera. Sadly, there are far too many things in this world we should “never forget.”

There Should be About 7 Interstellar Objects Passing Through the Inner Solar System Every Year

In October 19th, 2017, the first interstellar object ever detected flew past Earth on its way out of the Solar System. Less than two years later, a second object was detected, an easily-identified interstellar comet designated as 2I/Borisov. The appearance of these two objects verified earlier theoretical work that concluded that interstellar objects (ISOs) regularly enter our Solar System.

The question of how often this happens has been the subject of considerable research since then. According to a new study led by researchers from the Initiative for Interstellar Studies (i4is), roughly 7 ISOs enter our Solar System every year and follow predictable orbits while they are here. This research could allow us to send a spacecraft to rendezvous with one of these objects in the near future.

The research that describes these findings was conducted by multiple researchers from i4is, a non-profit organization dedicated to the realization of interstellar flight in the very near future. They were joined by researchers from the Florida Institute of Technology, Harvard’s Institute for Theory and Computation (ITC), the University of Texas at Austin, the Technical University of Munich, and the Observatoire de Paris.

The study of ‘Oumuamua in October of 2017 set off a revolution in astronomy and the study of celestial objects. Not only was this an object that had formed in another star system, but its arrival and detection implied a large population of such objects. The detection of 2I/Borisov in 2019 confirmed what many astronomers already suspected – that ISOs enter our Solar System on a pretty regular basis.

In addition to being a physicist with the i4is (and the lead author on the study), Marshall Eubanks is the Chief Scientist of Space Initiatives Inc. and CEO of Asteroid Initiatives LLC. As he told Universe Today via email, the discovery of ‘Oumuamua and 2I/Borisov is significant in a way that cannot be understated:

“[J]ust by proving that they exist, it has had a profound impact, creating a field of study almost from nothing (a field that funding authorities are just beginning to recognize). Interstellar Objects provide us with the opportunity to study, and in the future literally touch, exobodies decades before the earliest possible missions to even the nearest stars, such as Proxima Centauri.”

This led to multiple proposals for missions that could rendezvous with future ISOs that were spotted passing through our system. One such proposal was Project Lyra, which researchers from the i4is shared in a 2017 study (with support from Asteroid Initiatives LLC). There’s also the ESA’s Comet Interceptor mission, which they plan to launch in 2029 to rendezvous with a long-period comet.

“We started working on potential missions to interstellar objects in 2017, right after the discovery of ‘Oumuamua and we initially rather focused on chasing that specific object, in contrast to Seligman & Laughlin, who focused on ISOs that might be discovered in the future,” said Eubanks. “The Comet Interceptor mission would fall into a similar category (build-and-wait).”

Given that ISOs formed in another star system, the opportunity to study them up close would offer scientists insight into the conditions that are present there. In fact, the study of ISOs is the next best thing to sending interstellar probes to neighboring star systems. Of course, any such mission entails a lot of technical challenges, not to mention the need for advance warning. As Eubanks explained:

“There are two basic types of missions here – plan and wait, or launch and wait, missions, such as the ESA Comet Interceptor, and chase missions, such as would be needed to reach 1I/’Oumuamua. It is very unlikely that any chase missions will be able to rendezvous with a retreating ISO – these will almost certainly be restricted to fast flybys. Rendezvous missions, missions to match velocities and orbit or land the ISO, will need advance warning.”

Now, I went through this video and I saw something moving past the lens...then I realized...its rain. This is more proof that what the eyewitness said is true. He said he saw the UFO during a storm. And actually there are two of them. I have to admit, I'm a bit stumped by this one. He said he didn't see the UFO till later when he reviewed the video. UFO Crash In Sverdlovsk, Russia 1969, Secret KGB UFO Files, UFO Sighting News.

I first learned about this crash about 10-13 years ago. I posted the raw film footage onto my channel, but decided to repost it today to remind people of the incident. If we refuse to learn from this kind of evidence, then...there is no point moving forward at all. Because this is real, 100% fact. 

 

The details of a Russian Crash on or about 1969 are few, because of the high level of secrecy of its subject.  This case comes from the "Secret KGB Files," which were reportedly smuggled out of the former Soviet Union. Reportedly, $10,000 was paid for the information. The details of these secret files were first offered to the general public on 9-13-98 as part of a TNT special titled "The Secret UFO Files of the KGB." The show featured extraordinary film and still photographs of the UFO recovery, and also a portion of autopsy film on part of an alien body. 

The event itself, according to the KGB files, occurred in the state of Sverdlovsky, which was formerly Yekatrinburg of the USSR. The crash story follows a familiar pattern normally associated with this type of report. The fiery crash of an unknown object occurred in March 1969. The site was secured by the Russian military, and one dead alien was found in the wreckage. The remains of the craft and alien were brought to a secure location, and the alien body was autopsied. Both still and moving pictures were taken of the craft, its retrieval, and the alien autopsy. The autopsy shows only an alien torso and arm. From the size of the body parts, the alien would have been an extremely small being.

 

The footage at the crash site is 100% authentic at least on several points. The truck in the film is a circa 1950 model ZIS151, which has not been used by the military for quite some time, and the truck would have been difficult to find to stage a hoax with. Other elements of the film do not exhibit any obvious signs of a hoax, as to the movement of the soldiers, the timing of the film as to shadows, and the UFO itself.

Ons zonnestelsel kreeg aliens op bezoek, stelt astronoom Avi Loeb

Volgens Harvard-professor Avi Loeb hebben buitenaardse wezens het zonnestelsel al bezocht. Dat meent hij in alle ernst. In een nieuw boek licht hij niet alleen zijn opmerkelijke hypothese toe, maar wijst hij ook op een crisis in de wetenschappen. ‘Mijn werk is niet mainstream, maar onderzoek naar de snaartheorie of het multiversum is dat wel? Dat is al te gek.’

Avi Loeb schuwt de controverse niet. De productieve astrofysicus van Harvard University verrichte zowel pionierswerk als provocerend onderzoek naar zwarte gaten, uitbarstingen van gammastraling, het prille universum en andere standaardthema's uit de astronomie. Al meer dan tien jaar verdiept hij zich ook in een meer omstreden onderwerp: buitenaardse wezens en hoe je die opspoort. 

Tot voor kort was zijn meest spraakmakende wapenfeit rond dat laatste zijn betrokkenheid bij Breakthrough Starshot, een project gefinancierd door Silicon Valley-miljardair Yuri Milner, dat lichtzeilen – ultradunne lasergestuurde reflecterende ruimtetuigen – met hoge snelheid op ruimtereis naar nabijgelegen sterren wil sturen. 

Maar in het najaar van 2017 kwam daar verandering in. Overal ter wereld verdrongen astronomen zich om de raadselachtige interstellaire bezoeker te bestuderen die heel even binnen het bereik van hun telescopen was gekomen, de allereerste ooit waargenomen.

De ontdekkers van het object noemden het 'Oumuamua, een Hawaïaans woord dat zoveel betekent als 'boodschapper die van ver komt'. Vroeg onderzoek toonde aan dat deze ruimtepassant verschillende eigenschappen had die een eenvoudige natuurlijke verklaring lastig maakten. De vorm van 'Oumuamua, een soort sigaar of pannenkoek van honderd meter lang, leek in niets op bekende asteroïden of kometen. Ook de helderheid was totaal anders. 'Oumuamua bleek minstens tien keer meer licht te weerkaatsen dan typische ruimterotsen uit ons zonnestelsel. Dit hemellichaam glimde zo hard dat het aan gepolijst metaal deed denken. 

Heel vreemd was ook dat het object, toen het voorbij de zon dook en wegstoof, bijzonder hard versnelde. Die versnelling viel niet te verklaren door de afnemende zwaartekracht van de zon alleen. We zien zulke versnellingen wel bij ordinaire kometen: ze ontstaan door het stuwende effect van de verdampende gassen, die wegschieten wanneer het zonlicht hun ijzige oppervlakte opwarmt. Maar rond 'Oumuamua namen astronomen geen tekenen van dat soort stuwing waar.

De volgens Loeb meest plausibele verklaring is even voor de hand liggend als spectaculair: de merkwaardige versnelling die 'Oumuamua maakt zou perfect logisch zijn als het object een lichtzeil zou zijn. Misschien is het wel een overblijfsel van een of andere galactische cultuur die al lang is verdwenen. Door zijn jarenlange zoektocht naar mogelijke bewijzen voor kosmische beschavingen ergens in het heelal raakte Loeb er steeds meer van overtuigd dat 'Oumuamua zo'n bewijs was. Dit object had óns gevonden. 

Bij zijn korte passage in 2017 beschreef ‘Oumuamua een L-vormig traject doorheen ons zonnestelsel.

In het najaar van 2018 publiceerde Loeb samen met Shmuel Bialy, een postdoctoraatsonderzoeker aan Harvard, een paper in Astrophysical Journal Letters. Daarin betoogden zij dat 'Oumuamua niets minder was dan het eerste contact van de mensheid met een artefact van buitenaardse intelligentie. 

De paper scoorde bij journalisten, maar kon de meeste van Loebs collega-astrobiologen niet bekoren. Zij vinden 'Oumuamua evenzeer merkwaardig, maar klasseren de eigenschappen toch binnen de natuurlijke fenomenen. Iets anders beweren is volgens hen op z’n best tactloos en op z’n slechtst destructief.  Dit onderzoeksdomein kampt al lang met de stigma’s van ontvoeringen door ufo’s en aliens, terwijl het een legitieme plaats binnen de wetenschappen verdient. 

Loeb brengt zijn verhaal nu ook naar een breder publiek met Extraterrestrial: The First Sign of Intelligent Life Beyond Earth. Het boek vertelt niet alleen het levensverhaal van de auteur maar buigt zich ook over de fundamentele mysteries van 'Oumuamua. Een gesprek over zijn controversiële hypothese en de crisis die de wetenschap volgens hem doormaakt.

Abraham Loeb (°1962) is een Israëlisch-Amerikaans theoretisch fysicus, gespecialiseerd in astrofysica en kosmologie. Hij is hoogleraar aan Harvard University, waar hij het Black Hole Initiative oprichtte. Voorts zit hij in de adviesraad van het Breakthrough Starshot-project van de Israëlisch-Russische miljardair Yuri Milner, dat ruim- tevaartuigen met lichtzeilen naar sterren wil bren- gen. In 2012 selecteerde het magazine Time Loeb als een van de vijfentwintig meest invloedrijke per- sonen in de astronomie. Hij schreef acht boeken.

Hoe gaat het?

‘Goed, al slaap ik te weinig om te kunnen ingaan op alle persaanvragen. Om 1.50 u 's nachts en om 3 u 's ochtends had ik noog interviews. Tel daar nog heel wat televisieoptredens bij. De komende weken moet ik zo'n honderd podcastinterviews doen. Ik heb al lange gesprekken gehad met Lex Fridman en Joe Rogan voor hun shows. Zoiets heb ik nog nooit meegemaakt, de interesse voor mijn boek is enorm. De voorbije weken ben ik door tien filmmakers en producers uit Hollywood gecontacteerd! (Lacht:) Als hier een film van komt, wil ik door Brad Pitt gespeeld worden.’

De gelijkenis is treffend. Gezien uw productiviteit heb ik altijd al de indruk gehad dat u nooit veel slaapt.

‘Gewoonlijk sta ik elke ochtend om vijf uur op en ga ik joggen. Het is prachtig als er buiten nog niemand is – alleen ik en de vogels, eenden en konijnen. Door de pandemie zijn de voorbije tien maanden inderdaad de productiefste uit mijn carrière geweest. Ik hoef niet naar het werk te pendelen. Ik heb geen afspraken met massa's mensen. En het belangrijkste: ik hoef me niet bezig te houden met alle foute uitspraken van anderen!’

Over één ding zijn we het alvast eens: in de wetenschappen moeten we eerlijk met elkaar omgaan. Dat zeg ik omdat u in uw boek beweert dat u niet in de schijnwerpers wil staan en niet geïnteresseerd bent in zelfpromotie. Hoe rijmt u dat met dit gesprek?

‘Met de pers praten is belangrijk, omdat ik op die manier mijn boodschap, die anders niet zoveel aandacht zou krijgen, met een breed publiek kan delen.’

Wat is uw boodschap precies? Ik vermoed dat u het niet alleen over 'Oumuamua wil hebben.

‘Mijn boodschap is dat het tegenwoordig niet meer zo goed gesteld is met de gezondheid van de wetenschappelijke wereld. Al te veel wetenschappers worden nu in de eerste plaats gedreven door hun ego, door eretitels en awards, of door hun neigen om aan collega’s te demonstreren hoe slim ze wel niet zijn. Zij behandelen wetenschap meer als een monoloog over zichzelf dan als een dialoog met de natuur. Ze bouwen echokamers met studenten en postdocs die hun mantra's herhalen, zodat hun stem steeds luider klinkt en hun imago wordt gepromoot. Dat is niet het doel van wetenschap. De essentie van wetenschap is proberen de wereld te begrijpen. Dat is bedoeld als leerervaring, waarbij je onderweg risico's neemt en fouten maakt. Als je in de frontlinie staat, kun je nooit op voorhand zeggen welke weg vooruit de juiste is. Dat leer je alleen door feedback uit experimenten.’

‘Snaartheorie, het multiversum: tegenwoordig houden gerenommeerde wetenschappers zich te veel bezig met zaken die niet te toetsen zijn’

‘Zo komen we bij het volgende actuele probleem in de wetenschap: mensen worden niet alleen door de verkeerde motivatie gedreven, maar laten zich ook niet meer leiden door bewijzen. Bewijzen houden je bescheiden, omdat je iets voorspelt en dat toetst, waarop de bewijzen soms aantonen dat je fout zit. Vandaag houden heel wat gerenommeerde wetenschappers zich echter bezig met wiskundige gymnastiek over allerlei zaken die niet te toetsen zijn: snaartheorie, het multiversum, zelfs de theorie van de kosmische inflatie. Ooit vroeg ik aan Alan Guth, de bedenker van die theorie, of kosmische inflatie falsifieerbaar is. Waarop hij antwoordde dat dat een dwaze vraag was, omdat er voor alle mogelijke kosmologische data die een experiment kan opleveren altijd wel een inflatiemodel is dat hierbij past. En daarom bevindt inflatie zich in een heel sterke positie, omdat het alles kan verklaren. Ik zie dat net als een zwakke positie, omdat de theorie van alles soms een theorie van niets is. Misschien is er wel geen verschil tussen die twee.’

‘Die bubbel van imaginaire dingen voelt voor mij als trippen op drugs: je kunt high worden en je inbeelden dat je rijker bent dan Elon Musk. Je kunt je daar geweldig bij voelen en er met je vrienden over praten. En als je in een grote gelijkgezinde gemeenschap zit, kunnen jullie elkaar steunen en respecteren, en elkaar met awards belonen – fantastisch, toch? Het is pas wanneer je je geld wil opvragen en effectief wil spenderen dat je beseft dat je eigenlijk niets hebt. Experimenten kunnen dienen als reality check, net zoals naar de bankautomaat gaan. Die toetsing is essentieel in de wetenschappen – voorspellingen doen die getoetst kunnen worden en waarbij je iets op het spel zet – omdat we anders nooit iets nieuws leren. Ik denk dat dit niet meer voldoende erkend wordt.’

Speculeren over de snaartheorie en multiversums is slecht, maar speculeren over buitenaardse beschavingen en hun artefacten die door het zonnestelsel passeren mag wel? Je kunt toch ook zeggen dat een beroep doen op 'aliens' alles kan verklaren?

‘Het verschil is dat je voor dat laatste voorspellingen kunt doen die je kunt toetsen; deze speculaties komen vanuit een voorzichtig-conservatieve positie.’

‘Als 'Oumuamua één van de vele objecten zou zijn die zich op een willekeurige baan voortbewegen, dan kun je wel schatten dat we heel binnenkort elke maand nog gemiddeld één ander dergelijk object zullen vinden, zodra de Vera C. Rubin Observatory (spiegeltelescoop met immense digitale camera onder constructie in Chili, red.) online gaat. We kunnen een systeem van instrumenten uitbouwen die de hemel afspeuren, en die ook in staat zijn om te reageren wanneer zulke objecten naderen. Zo kunnen we foto’s nemen zodra ze binnenkomen, in plaats van ze achterna te zitten wanneer ze weer weggaan, want ze bewegen heel snel. Bovendien hoeft niet al het werk in de ruimte te gebeuren: je kunt ook denken aan meteoren van interstellaire oorsprong en daarnaar op zoek gaan. Als je er dan ergens een vindt die op het aardoppervlak aan zijn eind is gekomen, kun je die misschien zelfs met je eigen handen onderzoeken.’

De enige reden daarvoor is dat mijn collega's hun gezond verstand niet gebruiken. Plaats de snaartheorie en multiversums eens tegenover wat ik en vele anderen zeggen, gebaseerd op data van de Kepler-missie van NASA: ruwweg de helft van de zonachtige sterren in de Melkweg heeft een planeet met ongeveer dezelfde grootte als de aarde. Die planeten bevinden zich bovendien op ongeveer dezelfde afstand van de aarde tegenover de zon. Vloeibar water op het oppervlak en de chemie van het leven zoals wij dat kennen, zijn dus mogelijk. Als je miljarden keren de dobbelstenen over het leven in de Melkweg gooit, hoe groot is de kans dan dat we alleen zijn? Hoogstwaarschijnlijk is die miniem. Zeggen dat je een soortgelijke uitkomst krijgt als je soortgelijke omstandigheden voorziet, is volgens mij het meest conservatieve standpunt denkbaar.’

‘Ik zou dan verwachten dat de meeste mensen dit onderschrijven, mij omhelzen en zeggen: ‘Fantastisch, Avi, je hebt gelijk. We zouden naar die dingen moeten kijken omdat zij heel waarschijnlijk zijn.’ In de plaats zie ik een tegenreactie die getuigt van een dolgedraaid intellectueel kompas. Hou kun je anders verklaren dat er aan extra dimensies van de snaartheorie of het multiversum gewerkt wordt, terwijl er geen enkele aanwijzing is voor hun bestaan? Maar dát wordt dus als mainstream beschouwd? Dat is al te gek.’

‘Vandaag zie ik astronomen praten over toekomstige telescopen die miljarden kosten. Hun belangrijkste motivatie: leven vinden door in de atmosfeer van exoplaneten naar zuurstof te zoeken. Maar als je naar de eerste 2 miljard jaar van de aarde kijkt, zie je dat onze planeet niet veel zuurstof in zijn atmosfeer had, terwijl er toch al veel microbieel leven was. En zelfs als er zuurstof is, kan die ook afkomstig zijn van natuurlijke processen, zoals het uiteenvallen van watermolecules. Dus zelfs als je al die miljarden uitgeeft en zuurstof vindt, dan nog zullen mensen daar eeuwig over blijven redetwisten. Kijk maar hoeveel discussie er is over de mogelijke vondst van fosfine op Venus, een heel ongewone molecule in vergelijking met zuurstof.’

‘Mijn punt is dat je met dezelfde instrumenten en zonder extra investeringen eigenlijk sluitend bewijs kunt vinden voor leven, intelligentie en technologie. Wat zou dat bewijs kunnen zijn? Industriële vervuiling in de atmosfeer. Je zou kunnen zoeken naar chloorfluorkoolstofverbindingen (cfk's), de complexe molecules die enkel op aarde worden geproduceerd voor koelinstallaties. Als je die op een andere planeet zou vinden, weet je dat die molecule onmogelijk op een natuurlijke manier geproduceerd kon worden. Dan zou je een onweerlegbaar bewijs hebben dat er leven – en meer – heeft bestaan.’

‘Wat is dus het probleem met zeggen dat zoeken naar industriële vervuiling de moeite loont? Is dit niet gewoon een psychologische barrière die sommige wetenschappers tegenhoudt om toe te geven dat zij eigenlijk willen dat de zoektocht naar technologische signalen van buitenaardse beschavingen een randfenomeen blijft, met heel weinig fondsen? Ik vind dat we van dit soort zaken een prioriteit moeten maken. Het zou zelfs conservatief zijn om te doen, want het zou ons de meeste informatie opleveren over het bestaan van buitenaards leven. Toch doen we nu precies het omgekeerde.’

Geloven dat 'Oumuamua een buitenaards artefact is, kan volgens u leiden tot een revolutie in de ruimtewetenschappen. De focus zou dan komen te liggen op de zogeheten search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI). Maar uw critici zeggen dat u meer kwaad dan goed doet. U zit in een van de populairste podcasts ter wereld, die van Joe Rogan. Hij staat erom bekend foute informatie in zijn podcasts te verspreiden. Waar trekt u de grens voor publieke optredens die het risico op hoongelach verhogen en zo alle vooruitgang van SETI dwarsbomen?

‘In grote lijnen financiert het publiek de wetenschappen. En dat publiek is bijzonder geïnteresseerd in de zoektocht naar buitenaards leven. Als wetenschappers door het publiek gesteund worden, hoe durven zij die vraag dan uit de weg te gaan, terwijl zij daar met de technologieën die ze ontwikkelen wél kunnen op ingaan?’

‘Er zijn natuurlijk sciencefictionverhalen over aliens en heel veel ongegronde ufomeldingen. Stel dat er wat literatuur zou bestaan over de magische eigenschappen van covid-19 die niet gestoeld zijn op de realiteit. Zou dat dan betekenen dat wetenschappers niet aan een vaccin voor deze pandemie moeten werken? Natuurlijk niet! Ik beschouw de zoektocht naar tekenen van buitenaardse technologie niet als iets anders dan de zoektocht naar de aard van zwarte materie. We hebben honderden miljoenen dollars geïnvesteerd in speuren naar massieve partikels die zwak interageren, omdat het belangrijke kandidaten zijn voor zwarte materie. Tot dusver heeft dat niets opgeleverd. Dat betekent niet dat al die investeringen een verspilling waren. Doodlopende sporen horen nu eenmaal bij de wetenschappelijke methode.’

‘In de wetenschappen worden we verondersteld om alles open op tafel te gooien, wat de risico’s ook inhouden. We kunnen ideeën niet zomaar uit de weg gaan gewoon omdat we vrezen voor de discussie die erover zou ontstaan. Want ook dat houdt grote risico's in. Het zou hetzelfde zijn als Galileo verbieden iets te zeggen over de aarde die rond de zon draait, of om door een telescoop te kijken, omdat dat gevaarlijk is voor de op dat moment heersende filosofie. We hebben een open dialoog tussen wetenschappers nodig, waarbij mensen verschillende opvattingen voorstellen en we de bewijzen laten bepalen wat er klopt. In de context van 'Oumuamua zeg ik dat de beschikbare bewijzen doen vermoeden dat dit specifieke object artificieel is. De manier om dat te testen is om meer voorbeelden van hetzelfde te vinden en die te onderzoeken. Zo eenvoudig is dat.’

‘Hoe kun je die situatie veranderen? Volgens mij is het antwoord: door ze zoveel mogelijk naar het grote publiek te brengen.’

In uw boek linkt u uw openheid over 'Oumuamua aan een zinsnede, een ethos dat u tijdens uw dienstplicht voor het Israëlische leger leerde: ‘Je lichaam op de prikkeldraad leggen.’ Persoonlijke offers brengen voor het grotere goed. Moet u voor dit doel dan een martelaar zijn? Heeft u hierdoor vrienden of respect verloren?

‘Niemand heeft me agressief aangevallen of zo. Maar misschien praten mensen wel achter mijn rug. Dat lijkt me logischer, gezien mijn leidende posities. Maar ik weet het dus niet. Ik laat nul sporen achter op sociale media. Al moet ik waarschijnlijk zeggen dat de critici die zich het luidst met giftige opmerkingen op Twitter of elders laten horen vrij middelmatige wetenschappers zijn. De meeste goede wetenschappers zouden zich niet op die manier gedragen – zij zouden argumenten formuleren voor of tegen mijn beweringen en dat zou volstaan. Gemene opmerkingen hebben weinig zin, behalve dat het mij niet zou verbazen dat veel van die critici, diep vanbinnen, eigenlijk wel geïntrigeerd zijn door de idee dat 'Oumuamua artificieel is. Maar dat willen ze niet toegeven. Dus verkondigen ze met veel lawaai het tegenovergestelde.’

‘Waarom zoeken we op planeten altijd naar zuurstof en niet naar tekenen van industriële vervuiling? Dat zou onweerlegbaar bewijs vormen’

‘Helaas verschilt mijn situatie van die van jonge postdoc-onderzoekers met wie ik heb gewerkt, omdat zij voor een job moeten solliciteren. Ik ben er zeker ven dat zij al benaderd werden met 'kijk, dit is gevaarlijk voor je', waarop zij elk onderzoek staakten dat ook maar ergens in die richting ging. Dat verbaast mij niet. Als je een vijandige intellectuele cultuur creëert, waarin SETI niet wordt gewaardeerd, zullen verstandige jonge mensen die weg ook niet inslaan. Maar je kunt niet op het gazon stappen en dan klagen dat het gras niet groeit op de plek waar je staat. Houd briljante onderzoekers niet tegen om zich in te zetten voor SETI en dan te zeggen: ‘Kijk, we vinden niets. SETI is een mislukking!’’

‘Dit alles betekent niet dat álle ruimtewetenschappen zich met hetzelfde moeten bezighouden. Kijk maar eens naar de commerciële wereld van Bell Labs vroeger of Google nu: zij moedigen hun personeel aan en laten hen vernieuwende 'onrendabele' research te doen, die dus niet meteen tot concrete winst leidt. Maar als je naar de academische wereld kijkt, zie je dat zij conservatiever zijn dan de commerciële sector. Dat klopt niet.’

Kwatongen zouden kunnen zeggen dat u vooral hard probeert om rijke weldoeners, zoals Yuri Milner, gunstig te stemmen. U bent ook adviseur van zijn Breakthrough Initiatives-programma, dat onderzoek financiert verwant aan SETI en lichtzeilen.

‘Het klopt voor mij – en voor iedereen, denk ik – dat mijn verbeelding begrensd wordt door wat ik weet. Ik kan niet ontkennen dat mijn betrokkenheid bij Breakthrough hier een invloed had. Ik was het die het lichtzeil (voorgesteld door natuurkundige Philip Lubin, red.) in de eerste plaats aan Yuri Milner suggereerde als concept voor een interstellair ruimtetuig. Het zat dus in mijn woordenschat en bijgevolg stelde ik me dit voor toegepast op 'Oumuamua. Nu kun je je afvragen of dat geen bevooroordeelde visie is. Maar ze komt regelmatig voor in de fysica en in SETI. In het kader van SETI zijn we de hemel beginnen afspeuren met radiosignalen zodra we die radiotechnologie hadden ontwikkeld. Hetzelfde voor lasers. Zodra je aan een bepaalde technologie werkt, is het heel normaal dat je denkt dat die misschien al ergens bestaat en zoek je ernaar.’

‘Ik ontken dus niet dat de reden waarom het lichtzeilconcept in mijn hoofd zat was dat ik er eerder al had aan gewerkt. Maar dat heeft niets te maken met pogingen om Yuri aan te sporen. Waarom zou ik dat op die manier doen, als ik hem op elk moment ook gewoon rechtstreeks kan benaderen om mijn visie te verdedigen? Mijn werk over 'Oumuamua werd ook niet gecoördineerd of gefinancierd door Breakthrough Initiatives. Zij hebben geen persberichten over mijn ideeën verspreid. Integendeel, misschien zijn ze zelfs ongerust. Omdat ze hun eigen reputatie moeten bewaken enzovoort. Ik heb over het thema geen enkele steun of communicatie met hen gehad. Ik heb 'Oumuamua niet gebruikt als een of ander politiek vehikel in het kader van Breakthrough. Dat heeft niets met mijn motivatie te maken.’

Wat komt er voor u na dit? Heeft u plannen?

‘Ik heb net mijn voorzitterschap van het departement astronomie aan Harvard neergelegd. Ik kan nu dus inderdaad naar de volgende fase overgaan. De vraag is: wat wordt die? Een andere leidende positie zou wel aanlokkelijk zijn, omdat ik zou kunnen proberen de realiteit anders vorm te geven dan vele anderen. Zoiets zou ik niet aan mij voorbij kunnen laten gaan. Maar misschien krijg ik geen aanbiedingen meer door mijn opvattingen over ‘Oumuamua. In dit geval zou ik meer boeken schrijven, meer onderzoek doen en nog steeds elke ochtend gaan joggen.’

Artificial eye paves the way for cyborg vision

Researchers have devised an artificial eye that mimics the structure of the human eye, which has important applications in robotics, scientific measurements, as well as cyborg-like prosthetics that restore vision.

The proof-of-concept, which was recently described in the journal Nature by a team led by Zhiyong Fan from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, is about as sensitive to light at its natural counterpart. What’s more, it even has a faster reaction time than the real thing (30 to 40 milliseconds, rather than 40 to 150 milliseconds).

The human eye is nothing short of spectacular — and much of what it’s capable of doing is owed to the dome-shaped retina, an area at the back of the eyeball that is littered in light-detecting cells.

There are around ten million photoreceptor cells per square centimeter, enabling a wide field of view and excellent resolution that has yet to be replicated by any man-made technology.

For many years, scientists have sought to replicate these characteristics in synthetic eyeballs. However, such efforts proved extremely challenging due to the inherent difficulties in mimicking the shape and composition of the human retina.

Fan and colleagues devised a hemispherical artificial retina, measuring only two centimeters in diameter and containing densely packed, light-sensitive nanowires made from a perovskite — a promising material that is very popular in solar cell manufacturing. The purpose of these nanowires is to mimic the photoreceptors of the human eye.

The artificial eye’s hollow center is filled with a conductive fluid, whereas the human eye is filled with a clear gel called vitreous humour.

In an experiment, the artificial eye was hooked up to a computer and could “see” by reconstructing the letters ‘E’, ‘I’, and ‘Y’.

However, this is a far cry from the capabilities of the biological eye. The array consists of just 100 pixels, where each pixel corresponds to three nanowires.

This is a proof of concept, though, and Fan is confident that his design can be scaled so that the artificial eye can obtain a resolution ever higher than the human eye. According to Fan and colleagues, the density of nanowire can be enhanced to cover ten times the number of photoreceptors in the human eye.

Each nanowire could theoretically function as a small solar cell, which means that artificial eyes might not require an external power source as the researchers’ device currently requires.

The researchers envision applications in scientific measurements and advanced robotics. But, theoretically, the artificial eye could also be connected to an optic nerve, enabling the brain to process information received from the device like it would with a real eye. This latter prospect, however, is years and years away — but the prospect is still incredibly exciting.

A 340-metre-wide space rock named Apophis whizzed safely past Earth on 6 March. The next time it returns, in 2029, won’t be so uneventful: Apophis will come within 40,000 kilometres of the planet, skimming just above the region where some high-flying satellites orbit. It will be the first time that astronomers will be able to watch such a big asteroid pass so close to us.

Last week’s fly-by gave scientists a chance to test the worldwide planetary defence system, in which astronomers quickly assess the chances of an asteroid hitting Earth as they follow its path across the night sky. “It’s a fire drill with a real asteroid,” says Vishnu Reddy, a planetary scientist at the University of Arizona in Tucson who coordinated the observing campaign.

The Apophis fly-by highlights how much astronomers have learnt about near-Earth asteroids — and how much they still have to learn. Since 1998, when NASA kicked off the biggest search for near-Earth asteroids, scientists have detected more than 25,000 of them. And 2020 turned out to be a record year for discoveries. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic interrupting many of the surveys, astronomers catalogued 2,958 previously unknown near-Earth asteroids over the course of the year (see ‘Space rocks’).

Why This Harvard Astronomer Believes Aliens Are Real [Video]

The range of types of UFO encounters is wide, and for the most part they tend to inspire awe and wonder as to what could be behind it all. Yet, in some cases this awe turns to dread and even terror, as it seems that not all UFO phenomena are friendly in nature. Within the annals of UFO incidents there are some that inspire dread and a definite sense of foreboding, and one of these is certainly the time aliens apparently invaded a small island in Brazil.

Beginning in the spring of 1977 a very strange and ominous phenomenon began at a little known place called Colares Island, in the remote Brazilian region of Pará. Frightened locals began to report an intense amount of UFO activity in the skies, describing all manner of luminous spheres, glowing orbs, balls of fire, saucers, cigar shaped metallic objects, and more, but what really stood out was how aggressive these objects seemed to be. There were numerous reports that these unidentified objects were actively chasing and attacking people, shooting vivid thin rays of light that would leave injuries such as burns or holes in the skin, as well as other instances when they were reported as approaching to actually suck blood from victims. In many cases the beams projected were described as being “always sharply defined, directed with perfect precision towards any target – houses, people, boats, trees, even the Brazilian Air Force’s helicopters deployed over the island during the investigations.”

Some of the accounts were quite spectacular, as with a boat full of fishermen near Ilha dos Caranguejos who would claim that an intense ball of light had positioned itself over their boat and fired off beams at them, burning several of them and even supposedly killing a man. Another such such frightening report would come from a local man named Carlos Cardoso de Paula, who says one evening an orb of light entered his room and tried to get blood from him. He says of his surreal experience:

Everybody else was asleep. I was just still having my last smoke when suddenly a ball of fire entered our house up near the ridgepole of the gable. It started shooting round and round the room, and then finally came right close to my hammock. It ran up my right leg as far as the knee (without touching my skin). I watched with much curiosity as it then moved across to the other leg. Then I started to feel feeble and sleepy. My cigarette fell from my hand and I came to and let out a yell. The fireball quickly vanished and everybody woke up. I think it had been searching for a vein in my body but didn’t manage to do so. As its brightness grew, I felt a sort of heat coming from it.

Many of the people targeted by these mysterious lights described a wide range of negative physical injuries and effects, such as fainting, nausea, tremors, migraines, giddiness, shortness of breath, muscle weakness, burns, anemia, bruising, blistering, perforations in the skin, paralysis, searing pain, and blood loss. In fact, terrified residents were so convinced that the lights were trying to suck their blood that the phenomena were being called the Chupa-Chupa, or “sucker suckers.” In the meantime, hospitals were soon experiencing a deluge of people claiming to have been attacked by the UFOs. Also odd was that many of the patients were found to indeed be missing blood, and their blood tests also showed certain anomalies common to all of them such as anemia and dehydration, and it was all quite baffling for medical personnel. One local doctor Wellaide Cecim Carvalho would explain of these patients:

All of them had suffered lesions to the face or the thoracic area. The lesions began with intense reddening of the skin in the affected area. The injuries varied in extension. First it started with an intense reddishness in the hit area, known as hiperemia. Later, the skin of the affected region started to fall (alopecia) and days later the skin peeled off. Later the hair would fall out and the skin would turn black. There was no pain, only a slight warmth. One also noticed small puncture marks in the skin. The victims were men and women of varying ages, without any pattern. With the increase of hurt people, I started to give more attention each time in the existing injuries. I saw things that do not exist in my medical books.

In most of these inexplicable cases, the strange symptoms would linger for days or even weeks, requiring hospitalization, and others would not recover at all, with some deaths even reported. In the meantime, reports kept flooding in nightly, increasing in intensity as the months went on, until by August of that year it is estimated that thousands of people all over the island had either seen or been chased or assaulted by the mystery UFOs, which seemed to always come from the north and in some cases were described as detaching from a “mother ship” or even coming from below the waters of Marajo Bay. People were in a hysteria, afraid to go out at night and huddling into large groups where they sought safety in numbers. Some people would light bonfires or launch armed patrols in an effort to scare the Chupa-Chupas away, and it was eerily quiet on the streets, as noise was thought to lure the hungry UFOs in. One local mayor would say of the tense situation:

Yes, indeed I can tell you, there wasn’t a moment of peace. The people were terrified by that “Chupa-Chupa” affair. I even managed to see one of the injured victims myself – Dona Mirota, a lady who was receiving medical treatment at the Health Clinic. The people were terrified because this beam of night light had already assaulted several people. The whole community was packed in only three houses, praying, sometimes singing some religious songs!

There were even reports of people apparently seeing the actual occupants of these craft, who were apparently quite hostile. One local resident named Claudomira Paixao claimed to have had just such an encounter after waking one evening to find everything bathed in a greenish glow, which would steadily become red. It was at that point that she realized it was a beam being directed right at her, and she then saw something very weird indeed, of which she says:

In one of these days, after midnight, I woke up because of a strong flash, a sort of focused bright green light ray that came down from the top roof to my left chest. I tried to shout, but my voice did not function. I felt an exquisite heat… Later, that beam of light diminished and I saw that I was burnt. I could see a creature, like a man, wearing a jumpsuit just like a dive suit. He pointed it at me, and the object shone three times, striking my chest during the three occasions, almost in the same place, it was hot, it wounded me, it seemed that I had needles pierced at all three points. I was terrified, I could not move my legs! It was hot, and it hurt. It was like a needle stick. My health never came back to be the same since that night.

Of course, considering that these reports and the panic they caused were becoming national news it was only a matter of time before the military would be drawn to this remote locale. In late October of 1977, the Brazilian Air Force would launch an investigation under Captain Uyrange Bolivar Soares Nogueira de Hollanda Lima, which would take it even further into the realm of the bizarre. They would investigate the injuries of the victims, gain eyewitness accounts, and even collect a good amount of purported photographic evidence of the phenomena. Even weirder is that during the military presence on the island it would be alleged that that even the Air Force would come under attack by the lights, one such incident of which one resident Sra. Alba Câmara Vilhena would say:

On one occasion some people saw one of the craft. It was round, and all luminous. Just at that moment, a helicopter of the F.A.B. (Brazilian Air Force) was flying quite near to our house. Then we saw the UFO direct a very powerful beam on to the helicopter, obliging it to land on the São Pedro Airfield. That happened at about 8.00 pm one evening. The helicopters that appeared from time to time, bringing materials and personnel, attempted to chase the UFOs but without much success. Indeed, on the contrary, it was the UFOs that chased them!

The military would do its study and then pack up and leave in January of 1978 without offering the populace any sort of explanation, and labelling the whole investigation as classified. At the time there seemed to be some efforts to explain it all away as weather balloons or atmospheric phenomena, but this was obviously not really bought by the people who claimed to have been attacked by the craft and left with injuries. There seemed to have been some cover-up going on, and making this all the more sinister was that Captain Hollanda would turn up dead three months later, allegedly by suicide, although no further details were given, making some wonder if this was really a suicide or not. After 1978 the incidents would die down, but not stop with sporadic accounts coming in throughout the decades since. What was going on here? It is all so spectacular and dramatic that one is left to wonder just what all of this entails. Were these actual UFOs, and if so what did they want and why did they attack people? Was there a government cover-up? Or was this all just mass hysteria and seeing things? Without a doubt, the “Cloares Invasion” remains a very harrowing, and yet remarkably obscure case of the darker side of UFO encounters.

Mysterious Alien Woman Arrival On Brazilian Island & Beginning Of UFO Sightings In 1970s

The second country with the most UFO sightings and alien encounters after the US is Brazil. Very few of us know about the “Operation Saucer” also known as Operação Prato carried out by the Brazilian Air Force under the command of Colonel Uyrangê Hollanda to investigate the series of UFO sightings that happened in the mid-1970s that included attacks by light rays. Before the beginning of all these, a mysterious woman arrived at Ilha do Meio, situated in the Brazilian State of Pará.

Researcher Vitorio Peret recalled that in 1975, a woman named Elizabeth Quimine Berger arrived in Urumajó, now Augusto Corrêa. Her intention was to purchase lands on the Island of Meio, located 200 km from the city. She was a white blonde with blue eyes. The woman claimed to be a divorcee and a fashion designer by profession. Interestingly, according to locals, she was very short, only 132 cm. She was born in Switzerland, had an English passport, and was a resident of Paris.

There was one boatman named João Olaya, who could carry travelers across the island. She got acquainted with him and asked him to take her to the island where she offered the locals to sell their lands to her in exchange for good cash. At first, the locals had no intention to sell their properties to some strange foreign woman. But later, she offered them a huge amount of money and bought plots on the island. Soon, she purchased all other properties near to her previous purchases. Although she became the owner of many lands, the mysterious woman used to spend very little time there as she was mostly out of the island.

In some time, the local fishermen and other people started spotting strange lights over the island, and this sparked a rumor that the woman was an extraterrestrial. Some fishermen reported seeing her taking a group of white people with blond hair (around 40-50) to the island. She also used to buy large quantities of fish (around 400 kg of fish) every month from the local fishermen.

According to the reports, the locals saw a white ball of lights that looked like “small moons” that landed on the island. What’s more, at the time when the UFO sightings began in the area, Berger was reportedly seen going out in the middle of the night. Some boatman who had access to traveling to the island once followed her and saw her walking on the water without any clothes. The woman became popular among the locals after such details. Some of them even complained to the police about it.

She was questioned by the police three times but was always released as they had never found any strong evidence against her related to the strange light phenomenon. Colonel Uyrangê Hollanda became aware of the strange resident and suspected that she had been feeding guerrillas, as they said that she regularly was seen with dozens of men.

Only when she was on the island, strange cylindrical lights and objects, looking like probes, appeared and evolved at night. The colonel searched her place and was surprised. The house had no windows, no doors, no dishes, no furniture. Just a bed and two chairs, Peret said.

Peret recalled that an American arrived on the island in 1975 when there were already reports of the phenomena that affected the North and Northeast regions of Brazil. Some people were hit by beams of light, including that caused burns. This American claimed to be a commercial pilot who joined NASA and appeared on Mosqueiro Island amid evidence of extraterrestrial activities in the area.

“His neighbors on the island reported that he had very modern equipment for the time and in relation to what was in the region, such as a structure for radio communication that did not even exist in Belém, and even a notebook, something unthinkable for the time. his was the fastest in the region and he never bought anything on the island. Not even a loaf. Twice a week, he went out on a speedboat and came back with groceries,” said Peret.

Peret was suspicious of the NASA interference in Operation Saucer because when the room of that man was searched, his walls were full of formulas, and images of space and rockets were found on the site where his house was. He died on the island in 1982.

Meanwhile, when Berger was arrested the third time, she was escorted by four policemen but vanished soon after she asked to go to the bathroom. It is shocking that she could disappear from the bathroom which had only one door and a small window.

According to Ufologist Moacyr de Mendonça de Uchôa, she was seen dressed as a nurse in Los Angeles 1985/1986 Earthquakes, helping the wounded. Interpol tried to track her but failed. Later, she was seen in South Korea. Later, the police found out that her passport fake, and Elisabeth Queminet Berger was a Swiss woman who died in 1937.

It is one of the unsolved mysteries that still astonishes people. There is a theory that she was either an extraterrestrial or a time traveler who traveled to Earth for some business but had to go due to too much interference by the Brazilian officials.

False dawn’s truth? Scientists say they’ve finally cracked centuries-old mystery, thanks to the Juno probe

Danish scientists say they have solved the mystery of 'false dawns'.

The team from the Technical University of Denmark had designed and placed four cameras to be used to navigate the Juno orbiter for its launch in August 2011. The craft has been orbiting Jupiter since 2016.

While traveling to the gas giant, the orbiter passed through a dust storm - but only now have the researchers had a chance to analyze the findings. The dust particles hit Juno with force but were too small to be initially picked up on the cameras. 

Professor John Leif Jorgensen, who co-authored a study in the scientific journal of Geophysical Research published online on Tuesday, told TV2 that there were so many small objects, it looked as if someone had shaken a tablecloth full of bread crumbs out the window. His team found at least 23,000 pieces when they analyzed the recordings.

The team calculated that because of where the material hit Juno along its journey to Jupiter, it had to be dust escaping from the gravitational field of the red planet.

And if you’re afraid to tell anyone else because they might think you’re crazy, they probably already do – but you’re in good company … the ‘false dawn’ has been reported pre-Columbian Mesoamericans, astronomers as early as the 1600s and even the prophet Muhammed. They all asked the same question you probably did: “What IS that?” Good news – unlike them, you’re about to find out … and it’s not of this Earth.

“The Zodiacal light is sunlight reflected by dust in the inner solar system. Variations in the Zodiacal light with ecliptic latitude reveal discrete bands of dust orbiting near the ecliptic plane. The Juno spacecraft, in transit from earth to Jupiter, recorded a sufficient number of impacts with this dust to characterize their distribution in space for the first time.”

In a new study published in the journal Geophysical Research Letters, Danish astronomers led by Professor John Leif Jørgensen from the Technical University of Denmark dug deeper into photographs taken in 2016 by advanced Danish cameras onboard the Juno spacecraft as it approached Jupiter. That’s when Juno unexpectedly encountered a dust storm which was invisible to the cameras but hit Juno with such force that they knocked particles off of the surface of the craft. And not just a few – a count by Jørgensen’s team found at least 23,000 small pieces.

The dust itself was not a surprise – there is an elliptical plane of dust throughout the solar system, as the study notes. And it has been speculated that the ‘false dawn’ phenomena – called Zodiacal light by astronomers – was caused by this dust reflecting sunlight. However, Juno gave the astronomers the first chance to identify where the dust came from – and the answer shocked them

“The radial distribution of the dust suggests a primary source of dust with the orbital elements (inclination and eccentricity) of Mars, scattered into a secondary population at higher inclination to the ecliptic.”

Up until now, astronomers speculated that this dust came from asteroids and comets traveling through the solar system. In fact, the cameras were on Juno to look at asteroids, not dust. Once they knew what it was, they realized the distribution matched the dust around Mars – another planetary mystery, as dust can’t escape the gravitational field of Earth because the atmosphere traps it. Mars has a thin, dry atmosphere and its gravitational field is very weak, but the team can’t explain how so much of its dust escapes – especially to Earth where it helps create false dawns in the spring in the Northern Hemisphere and in the late fall in the Southern Hemisphere.

“The IDP environment recorded by Juno on its journey to Jupiter has potentially significant implications for the design and qualification of space flight hardware as well as mission design.”

While the ‘false dawn’ discovery was interesting, the team was concerned about the impact of the interplanetary dust particles (IDP) from Mars on Juno – the reason why they could see it. Juno was solar-powered, but its solar array was strong enough to survive the impacts. Next generation solar-powered deep space crafts will have ultra‐thin, flexible solar arrays. Will they survive?

Colombia is well known for its UFO sightings and here in this video is more evidence to such. UFOs are often come from underwater base and wander to the shores to explore. Here we have just such a UFO. The craft is coming very close the top of the building where it can scan and study the humans inside. I really like this video, because she has a steady hand with the camera and we get to see the movement of the UFO really well. At the end of the video, one person laughs and says its a plane, but honestly he is just guessing. There is no sound, no aircraft lights and no wings for him to jump to such a conclusion. This is a UFO.

Here is an interesting report that I have never seen before. It was sent to me by email from one of my subscribers. 

 

I tried to figure out what the lights could be other than UFOs. At first I thought it might be the Israeli Army firing at a distant enemy. Then I thought it could be the famous Iron Dome defense system shooting at in coming missiles. But artillery fire is incredibly fast, unlike the lights we see here. I have watched videos of the Iron Dome defense system...This is the only likely possibility. 

 

But what if the Iron Dome defense system, which was made to defend Israel from Palestinian missiles...what if the Iron Dome accidentally attacked a UFO fleet passing over Israel? That is what it looks like to me, I see a combination of both glowing UFOs and explosive smoke in the sky. I will put the comparison screenshot above to compare and contrast yourself.

A lot of strange UFO activity was filmed in the night sky above Syracuse in New York on 9th March 2021. Here a author’s statements…

Witness report: 

Multiple orbs hovering and moving at impossible speeds at varying heights. Orbs appear directly overhead after being circled with a laser pointer. BACKGROUND: Since I first saw a large red orb in August of 2020 (MUFON report 110659) I have documented on video hundreds of orbs of varying sizes, colors and distances appearing over Central New York. These orbs are an every night event, if the sky is clear these strange orbs are visible. I have purchased two nightvision cameras in order to document and attempt to explain what I am seeing but the events I capture are getting stranger over time.On Tuesday March 9th, 2021 I went outside during my usual nightly filming session at 645 and set up one camera in a fixed location on a tripod and another on a monopod that I could use to control. I was on an elevated pool deck where I saw the typical orbs I see on a nightly basis and recorded those.

Throughout the night I observed multiple orbs moving through the airspace at speeds that I’ve never seen some were captured some were not. Around 750PM I saw a rather bright orb through my second camera and was tracking the object as it flew over my neighborhood. I used a green laser pointer to circle the object and upon doing this it seemed as though I provoked a response. The object began to move much more rapidly and also dimmed as it was very bright before. I eventually lost the object over the southern sky. I looked up and there were 2 very bright orbs directly over me. One orb seemed to circle and another orb slowly moved passed me until moving over the nearby treeline where I lost sight. I noticed a lot of movement in the sky above me but was unable to see anything else with my eyes. Unfortunately the video recording from the camera I was using is somehow corrupted despite all other files being intact. My other camera managed to record audio and video from the incident but was pointing slightly off from where I was. Upon playback of the videos recorded from my secondary camera, I realized how many objects had been above me that night.I have 100s of videos of these strange orbs flying over a densely populated city. I use star charts, air traffic radar, satellite tracking etc to debunk and I still cannot figure out what I am witnessing. I have uploaded a few videos to youtube in hopes of finding answers but I am not sure where to go now.
