UFOs have gone from zero to hero in what seems like a week. A topic once ridiculed by mainstream culture now fronts some of the most credible and widely read newspapers in the world. Currently, many are eagerly waiting for what they believe will be an honest and revealing report from the US intelligence community on their knowledge of UFOs/UAPs. It’s expected to be out later this month.
Just come right out and say it! That was the approach taken by Task & Purpose’s Jeff Schogol, a journalist who asked John F. Kirby, the DoD’s primary spokesperson, a very direct question about what the Pentagon holds in terms of alien bodies and spacecraft. His question was delivered during a press conference last week.
“There’s no way that I can sugar coat this. I was talking to a gentleman about the UAP report. He contends the Pentagon has alien bodies and crafts. So I wanted to run this past you, does the DoD have these things and if so, where?”
It really doesn’t get more direct than this, and the response returned by Kirby seemed taken aback by such a direct question,
“The UAP Task Force is really designed to take a look at these unexplained aerial phenomena and try to help us get a better understanding of them. Again, I’m not going to get ahead of the report that the DNI will submit that we are helping, obviously, and providing input to and I’ll just leave it at that, Jeff.”
Perhaps the upcoming report will answer questions like this, but given the longstanding secrecy US intelligence communities have applied to this subject, it’s unlikely.
If you’re a bit more fresh into the UFO discussion, the answer from Kirby may seem normal. The spokesperson would rather heed to the upcoming report and allow it to do the talking. But if you’ve been at this a while, this answer is classic to most questions like this over the last 70 years – vague, lacking clarity, and an awkwardness suggesting those in charge know a lot more than they are letting on.
One key takeaway here might be that journalists who have access to such press conferences might assist the public by asking such direct questions more often. As journalists educate themselves on the depth of what is already known about the ET and UFO phenomenon, perhaps questions can become deeper and perhaps derive more revealing information from government officials over time. Soft ball questions like we commonly see will only allow these subjects to remain in secrecy like they have for the last 70+ years.
For what it’s worth, in my educated opinion having researched this subject for 12 years and having worked alongside fellow journalists in our outfit who have as well, I’d bet a great deal on the fact that the US government is in possession of ET bodies and ET craft.
A Canadian Roswell: The 1989 UFO Crash In Ottawa, Ontario (Video Footage)

In 1989, a supposed UFO crash occurred in Carp, Ontario. Video footage, photographs and documents were leaked by someone who referred to themselves as "The Guardian." The story is unverifiable of course, but interesting to say the least.

If there have been multiple instances of crashed craft an bodies recovered, what has been discovered about them as well as the beings who operate them? Why is our world drenched in secrecy?
Nearly everybody has heard the lore of the famous 1947 UFO crash in Roswell, New Mexico. If you actually look into it, it’s hard not to believe something did indeed happen there, but it’s important to note that it’s not the only supposed incident. There are a plethora of stories of UFO crashes from around the world, several dozen stories of these incidents have happened in North America over the last several decades.
The idea that non-human intelligent life forms and their craft have crashed and been retrieved by military and government agencies is also something that’s crept into the mainstream as of late, and it’s been something many UFO researchers have been well aware of for a long time. Just last year renowned astrophysicist Eric W. Davis, who worked with the Pentagon UFO program, formerly known as AATIP (now known as the “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force” or UAPTF), gave a classified briefing to a Defense Department Agency about retrievals from “off-world vehicles not made on this Earth.”
There is evidence showing that governments have been desperate to capture this technology for years. This inevitably means they might have been doing their best to bring these objects down at times, even if the objects don’t seem to instigate or initiate any type of aggression towards us. Based on my research, the majority of cases show that these objects perform evasive maneuvers to avoid our own aircraft. It is interesting to ponder how exactly incidents of crashed craft have occurred given the fact that the technology seems to be far more advanced than anything human beings can manufacture.
A well-known incident among UFO researchers comes from Carp, Ontario, a small community located near Ottawa. It’s an incident that cannot be verified nor be debunked. This resembles many other incidents that exist within UFO lore – we just can’t know for sure either way. Other incidents have more credibility behind them in the form of revealing declassified documents and testimony from high ranking people with verified backgrounds, like Davis mentioned above. Because of this, many researchers don’t like to explore or use this particular incident from Carp, Ontario, but I find it interesting nonetheless and feel it’s worthy of exploration.
This particular story involves a supposed extraterrestrial craft that crash-landed in the swamps just outside Carp in 1989. A supposed declassified document from Canada’s Department of National Defence described a scene common to other supposed crashes, with military soldiers desperate to retrieve the wreckage and any other debris that may have tumbled from the spacecraft surrounding the area. The supposed bodies were taken to an underground research facility while the craft was taken to a military base which coincidentally happens to be in very close proximity to the incident.
The interesting thing about this incident is that the documents were accompanied by photos as well as a VHS tape of the supposed UFO. They were leaked and distributed by an individual self-identifying as “Guardian”. The story spread quickly at the time, newspapers picked up the story and it eventually made its way to the television screen, appearing in paranormal documentaries and shows.
According to CBC news in Canada, who recently did a deep dive into the case,
People in Carp were also reluctant to talk about Guardian – on camera, at least. A year into making this documentary, we continue to get emails from people who claim to know something about the case. They’re afraid to speak on the record, uneasy about dredging up this strange part of the part of the past in a region where so many people know one another. As is the case with many witnesses to the inexplicable, they fear the attention – and the ridicule, it might draw.
Below is the short documentary they produce about the story. What’s particularly interesting is that there are interviews with multiple people in the area, many of whom have had strange UFO experiences. In one instance a woman experienced a military helicopter land near her house after she witnessed a UFO. Soldiers got out of the helicopter and quickly ran around the property, got back into the chopper and then left. What were they looking for?

The CHIME radio telescope has detected 535 fast radio bursts in its first year of operation.

A radio telescope in Canada has detected 535 fast radio bursts, quadrupling the known tally of these brief, highly energetic phenomena in one go. The long-awaited results show that these enigmatic events come in two distinct types — with most bursts being one-offs, and a minority repeating periodically and lasting at least ten times longer than average.
The findings1 strongly suggest that fast radio bursts could be the result of at least two distinct astrophysical phenomena. “I think this really just nails it that there is a difference,” says study co-author Kiyo Masui, an astrophysicist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge.
Why ultra-powerful radio bursts are the most perplexing mystery in astronomy
The overnight jump in the available data has put the radio astronomy community into a tizzy. “I woke up this morning and all my Slack channels were full of people talking about the papers,” says Laura Spitler, an astrophysicist at the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy in Bonn, Germany, who co-discovered the first repeating burst2 in 2016 using the now-collapsed Arecibo telescope in Puerto Rico.
The Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment (CHIME) collected the events in its first year of operation, between 2018 and 2019. The team announced their results during a virtual meeting of the American Astronomical Society on 9 June, and posted four preprints on the online repository arXiv.
Repeaters and one-offs
Located near Penticton in British Columbia, CHIME is a telescope with no moving parts. It comprises four half-pipe antennas, each 100 metres long. At any given time, it observes one narrow strip of the sky above. But as the Earth rotates, the telescope scans the sky, and digital processing chips collect its signals to form an image.
CHIME was initially conceived for mapping the distribution of matter in the Universe, but a complex kit of additional electronics was added in its design so that it could pick up fast radio bursts as well. Spitler recalls that many workers in the field had been skeptical about the telescope’s potential for detecting the bursts, but the latest announcement has vindicated it. “They’re actually meeting their prediction,” Spitler says. “It’s extremely impressive.”
While the jury is still out on what causes fast radio bursts, the CHIME results seem to cement the idea that there are at least two distinct types. Sixty-one of the 535 detected were ‘repeaters’ — coming from 18 sources that have been seen emitting bursts multiple times. The two groups differ by duration, with one-off events lasting a much shorter time. Repeaters also emit on a much narrower band of radio frequencies than do one-off bursts.
“It’s by far the most compelling evidence that there are two populations,” says Spitler.
Until recently, the evidence for this was not strong: some astronomers argued that non-repeating bursts could have just been repeaters that had not been observed long enough to see them burst again. “It doesn’t mean the phenomenon is wildly different, but it could be,” Masui adds.

Fast radio bursts tend to be detected over one second or more. But this duration is misleadingly long: as signals travel across millions of light-years of space, intergalactic matter tends to smear radio waves across the spectrum. As a result, lower-frequency waves can arrive at Earth with a delay of several seconds compared to higher-frequency ones. Researchers have calculated that at the source, the emission of a radio burst typically lasts only milliseconds. During that time, the source of a burst is can emit 500 million times more energy than the Sun over a comparable amount of time.
The extent of this ‘dispersion’ of wavelengths provides a rough indication of how far the waves had to travel. So far, all bursts have been shown to originate from other galaxies, with one exception of an event that occurred in the Milky Way.
The CHIME team reported that the bursts’ sources appeared to be evenly spread across the sky. Only a handful could be traced to a particular galaxy.
Origin theories
In recent years, researchers have monitored some the regions of the sky that produced bursts in the past, and in some cases have seen them re-occur with regular periodicity. The ‘repeater’ discovered by Spitler and her collaborators in 2016, for example, has cycles of activity lasting a day or so — emitting several bursts per hour — and repeating every 160 days.
Bevy of mysterious fast radio bursts spotted by Canadian telescope
This regular repetition offers some clues about what might be causing the bursts. One possible explanation, Spitler says, is that repeaters could occur when a highly magnetized neutron star circles around an ordinary star in an elongated orbit. As the neutron star periodically gets closer to its companion, bursts could result from its magnetic field scattering the highly energetic stellar wind.
Non-repeaters, on the other hand, could be the result of cataclysmic events such as the collisions of neutron stars or magnetic storms in young neutron stars called magnetars. The Milky Way event was linked to a known magnetar. But the magnetar theory has been put into question by the recent finding of a burst from a ‘globular cluster’ in the galaxy M813. Globular clusters are dense collections of very old stars, and are considered unlikely to host magnetars.
The first discovery of a fast radio burst in 2007 came as a shock to researchers, and for many years only a handful were known, Masui recalls. Theorists came up with a plethora of possible explanations, and the running joke was that the theories outnumbered the actual events. Now CHIME has reversed that trend, he says, “I don’t think theorists will catch up with us.” And this first catalogue is only the beginning: since it was collected, the team has continued to detect many more fast radio bursts, and will publish them for years to come.

Nieuwe planeet lijkt volgens NASA sterk op onze aarde
Onderzoekers van NASA en de Universiteit van New Mexico zijn erachter gekomen dat de recent ontdekte planeet, TOI-1231 b, gelijkenissen met onze aarde vertoont. De planeet zou elke 24 dagen in een baan rond een rode dwergster draaien. Bovendien zou de temperatuur er veel koeler zijn dan op andere planeten. De ontdekking geeft de onderzoekers nieuwe hoop in hun zoektocht naar buitenaards leven.
De planeet zou zich acht keer dichter bij zijn ster bevinden dan de aarde bij de zon. Toch zou de temperatuur op de nieuwe planeet en die op aarde gelijkaardig zijn, omdat de rode dwergster minder krachtig is dan de zon. Vergeleken met andere planeten, die vaak een extreem hoge temperatuur van honderden of duizenden graden hebben, is de nieuwe planeet relatief koel.
Zeldzame ontdekking
Volgens onderzoekster Diana Dragomir zou TOI-1231 b omgeven zijn door een atmosfeer en is het geen rotsachtige planeet. “De samenstelling en omvang van die atmosfeer zijn daarentegen nog onbekend”, klinkt het. Het is mogelijk dat er hoog in de atmosfeer wolken aanwezig zijn. Ook de aanwezigheid van water wordt niet uitgesloten. Verder onderzoek moet daarover meer duidelijkheid bieden.
Volgens de onderzoekers zijn de resultaten van de studie erg zeldzaam. Zo ging vorig onderzoek naar exoplaneten, of planeten die om een andere ster dan de zon draaien, nog nooit gepaard met de ontdekking van een planeetsysteem dat sterke gelijkenissen met ons eigen zonnestelsel vertoont.

People across the northern hemisphere looked up today – taking the correct precautions, of course – and were treated to a partial solar eclipse. The partial eclipse covered a region thousands of kilometres wide across most of Europe, northern Asia and northeastern North America. An annular or “ring of fire” solar eclipse was visible to some parts of Greenland, Northern Russia, and Canada.

Watching this raw video taken from Texas during a family outing is mind-blowing. This UFO is like no other I have ever seen. The craft is standing upright and has a huge rectangle in its center. The eyewitnesses kids continue blowing bubble...oblivious to the alien craft passing overheard. But the father keeps his cool and tries his best to ignore the bubbles and keep focussed on the unusual shaped craft flying over them. This looks like a ring UFO that is typically round and makes clouds around it, however it has collapsed itself to appear thinner and long like a key. Its very possible that the opening within the center is actually a portal for alien craft to jump from location to location instantly...faster than light transportation. For this UFO to be over Texas...there must be a huge incoming or outgoing of ships in the near future. This...sounds like a big event coming soon in Texas.

On a Tuesday hearing at the House Natural Resources Committee, Rep. Louie Gohmert had an idea for solving the climate crisis permanently...by changing the orbits of the Earth and moon. This sound silly and ridiculous at first, but the truth about it is far from it. You see, the moon is a hollow space station that is set in its location to observe and protect planet Earth from other intruding alien species. What I mean is the moon is hollow and can easily fly away if the alien species who control it so wish. But it was placed there long ago, in order to watch over the planet and keep other alien species from thinking that they can take it from them. Yes, Earth is unique a little bit and there is a high demand in the universe for life capable surface habitats. It does take a bit of time for aliens to create, so they do look after their territories well or they will lose them. What aliens live on the moon? Well...only one way to tell for sure...is to contact them. Sadly no attempts have ever been made to contacts aliens on the moon. I found a dark tower on the moon today using the LROC moon map at Arizona State University. The online program reveals a lot about the moon that they don't teach you in any classroom, unless you are in my classroom. I am a ESL teacher in Taiwan and yes, I tell kids the truth. That aliens exist.
This structure is very big and again...is not just a structure, but a mobile structure. Much like a mobile home can move from place to place...so can these structures. Makes them much more useful. Why oh why do they abandon them in craters so often? Well it sure makes them easier to find for anyone searching for parts. Like humans...even aliens like to recycle...so leaving the ship out for others to use is considered both recycling and helping to all species who need it.
Mysterious Glowing Sphere Caught on Video in North Carolina
A short video of a light circular object passing the skies of North Carolina Beach has made the rounds online.
A couple took the footage as they were boating off the coast of America on May 16. Both saw a bizarre glowing sphere object similar to reported UFOs spotted in both New York and Colorado in the past.
In the clip, the object is easily recognized against the bright blue sky and appears to move slowly in front of the clouds. According to the eyewitnesses, the UFO also had a dark circle or spot in the middle.
A witness is heard explaining in the video saying that the object seems to rise above and drop below the clouds in around the same spot for hours.
According to UFO enthusiasts who have watched the video, the object is possibly an alien orb surveillance drone that has come into Earth’s atmosphere to observe our response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The origins of Western alchemy can be traced back to Hellenistic Egypt, in particular to the city of Alexandria. One of the most important characters in the mythology of alchemy is Hermes Trismegistus (Hermes the Thrice-Great). The name of this figure is derived from the Egyptian god of wisdom, Thoth, and his Greek counterpart, Hermes. The Hermetica, which is said to be written by Hermes Trismegistus, is generally regarded as the basis of Western alchemical philosophy and practice. In addition, Hermes Trismegistus is also believed to be the author of the Emerald Tablet.
Legends of the Emerald Tablet
The Emerald Tablet is said to be a tablet of emerald or green stone inscribed with the secrets of the universe. The source of the original Emerald Tablet is unclear; hence it is surrounded by legends. The most common story claims that the tablet was found in a caved tomb under the statue of Hermes in Tyana, clutched in the hands of the corpse of Hermes Trismegistus himself.
And the creator of the Emerald Tablet has been provided in myth as the Egyptian god Thoth, who Armando Mei writes “divided his knowledge into 42 plates of emerald, codifying the great scientific principles ruling the Universe. The legend tells that after the gods’ fall, the Hermetic tablets were cleverly hidden so that no human being might find them. Only Thoth, on his return to that dimension, was able to recover the mysterious book.”
Another legend suggests that it was the third son of Adam and Eve , Seth, who originally wrote it. Others believed that the tablet was once held within the Ark of the Covenant . Some even claim that the original source of the Emerald Tablet is none other than the fabled city of Atlantis.
While various claims have been made regarding the origins of the Emerald Tablet, as yet no verifiable evidence has been found to support them. The oldest documentable source of the Emerald Tablet’s text is the Kitab sirr al-haliqi (Book of the Secret of Creation and the Art of Nature), which was itself a composite of earlier works.
This was an Arabic work written in the 8th century AD and attributed to ‘Balinas’ or Pseudo-Apollonius of Tyana. It is Balinas who provides us with the story of how he discovered the Emerald Tablet in the caved tomb. Based on this Arabic work, some believe that the Emerald Tablet was also an Arabic text and written between the 6th and 8th centuries AD, rather than a piece of work from Antiquity, as many have claimed.
While Balinas claimed that the Emerald Tablet was written originally in Greek, the original document that he purportedly possessed no longer exists, if indeed it existed at all. Some say the text burned up in the Library of Alexandria . Nevertheless, Balinas’ version of the text itself quickly became well-known, and has been translated by various people over the centuries.
For instance, an early version of the Emerald Tablet also appeared in a work called the Kitab Ustuqus al-Uss al-Thani (Second Book of the Elements of the Foundation), which is attributed to Jabir ibn Hayyan. It would, however, take several more centuries before the text was accessible to Europeans. In the 12th century AD, the Emerald Tablet was translated into Latin by Hugo von Santalla.
The Emerald Tablet would become one of the pillars of Western alchemy. It was a highly influential text in medieval and Renaissance alchemy, and probably still is today. In addition to translations of the Emerald Tablet, numerous commentaries have also been written regarding its contents.
For instance, a translation by Isaac Newton was discovered among his alchemical papers. This translation is currently being held in King’s College Library in Cambridge University. Other notable researchers of the Emerald Tablet include Roger Bacon , Albertus Magnus, John Dee , and Aleister Crowley . And today knowledge of the legendary Emerald Tablet (at least one interpretation of it ) is reaching new audiences with its presence in the surreal German-language series Dark.

The interpretation of the Emerald Text is not a straightforward matter, as it is after all a piece of esoteric text . One interpretation, for instance, suggests that the text describes seven stages of alchemical transformation – calcination, dissolution, separation, conjunction, fermentation, distillation and coagulation. Yet, despite the various interpretations available, it seems that none of their authors claim to possess knowledge of the whole truth. Furthermore, readers are encouraged to read the text and try to interpret and find the hidden truths themselves.

Family and I were traveling from Zion to Reno. About 20 min after turning on 375 my wife wanted to photograph a joshua tree. After several minutes a circular object shining light suddenly appeared above us. I grabbed my cell phone from my car and took a video. We had no clue we were near area 51 and had never even heard of the ET highway and I am not a believer in aliens but all four of us are positive in what we saw and cannot explain it. We learned later when we arrived at our hotel where we were located.

Or that three eccentric billionaires would replace both the U.S. and Russia in transporting people, cargo and satellites into space? In 2016, those predictions might have been classified as ‘weird’, yet they happened and we now consider them to be the ‘new’ normal. Now, a new kind of weird has come to the space race that once again involves The New York Times and the three eccentric billionaires, Will we look back in 2026 and change our minds once again?

Martian watermelon?
That was the headline and the lede of an online article which appeared on The New York Times website yesterday, June 8. While this was also a day the Internet suffered some massive outages, they were not related to the Martian watermelon announcement in the NYT. The article was written by ‘Joe Schmoe’, an obvious pseudonym, but it still reverberated throughout both the UFO and mainstream media before it was quickly taken down and replaced with the message “This article was published in error.” Was it? A Times spokesperson told The New York Post in an e-mail, “Earlier today, a mock article intended for a testing system was published on our site in error. The article has since been removed.” Will this hurt the credibility of The New York Times in the UFO disclosure movement?
Meanwhile, the website Parabolicarc.com reported that Sir Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Galactic (not to mention other Virgin companies) is working on a plan to make a suborbital flight aboard one of his VSS Unity SpaceShipTwo rocket planes over the July 4 holiday weekend, beating rival Jeff Bezos’ flight in HIS Blue Origins New Shepard spaceship on July 20 by over two weeks. At the time Parabolicarc.com broke the story, its anonymous source said the flight is contingent upon obtaining an operator’s license from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). That quickly prompted this response from a Virgin Galactic spokesperson:
“We are in the process of analyzing the data from our successful May 22nd flight. As previously announced, we expect to complete the final test flights this summer through to early fall. At this time, we have not determined the date of our next flight. An objective from the last flight was to collect data to be used for the final two verification reports that are required as part of the current FAA commercial reusable spacecraft operator’s license.”
You need a license? You also need a working spaceship. VSS Unity and its VMS Eve WhiteKnightTwo mothership would have only 44 days to get space ready, less than the 72 days it normally takes. Besides a license and a space-worthy ship, you also need the right altitude. Bezos plans to reach 100 km (62.1 miles), the ‘Karman line’ – the boundary of space recognized by The Fédération Aéronautique Internationale, the world’s keeper of aviation and space records. The FAA recognizes 50 miles (80.4 km) as the boundary of space. VSS Unity has made three flights above 50 km, but has not yet hit 100 km and there’s some question whether it can reach that height. Finally, VSS Unity and VMS Eve are still in their test phase and are expected to be upgraded before starting commercial lights next year. Would Sir Richard risk his project (and possibly his life) just to win the space billionaire entrepreneur race with Jeff Bezos?
Has Elon Musk weighed in yet? How about Matt Damon? Would a lifetime supply of Martian watermelons be an appropriate billionaire wager?
Located within the Chihuahuan Desert in northeastern Presidio County of far West Texas is the dusty desert city of Marfa. Founded as a water stop in the early 1880s, Marfa sits like an oasis surrounded by sprawling desolate desert, but despite its inhospitable location it has become a sort of center for minimalist art, and is known for its galleries, artisan shops, and historical architecture. Yet the town has become famous for something else as well, and here out in the desert badlands there has long been a mysterious, possibly paranormal light show that has never really been explained.
Marfa, Texas
What have come to be known as the Marfa Lights typically appear as orbs of light about the size of a basketball, that materialize out in the desert wasteland of Mitchell Flat looking towards the Chinati Mountains, to hover, fly, and dance about in the night before vanishing. They come in many colors, including white, yellow, pink, blue, and red, and can be very bright or faint, steadily illuminated or twinkling or flickering. The lights feature a wide range of movement and behaviors, either flying in a straight line or conversely bobbing up and down, darting about erratically, doing aerial acrobatics, accelerating or decelerating, or even merging together into larger orbs or disappearing and reappearing. They sometimes move slowly, at other times hovering stationary, or on other occasions travelling at great speed, often all of the above. One local by the name of James Bunnell has said of the Marfa Lights:
You might just see mysterious orbs of light suddenly appear above desert foliage. These balls of light may remain stationary as they pulse on and off with intensity varying from dim to almost blinding brilliance. Then again, these ghostly lights may dart across the desert or perform splits and mergers. Light colors are usually yellow-orange but other hues, including green, blue and red are also seen. Marfa Mystery Lights usually fly above desert vegetation but below background mesas.
The lights also don’t seem to follow any rhyme or reason to their appearances, emerging at all times of the year and in all kinds of weather, and they have been baffling those who see them for a very long time. Although the Native Americans had long known of the lights, perhaps the first historical record of the Marfa lights by settlers was in 1883, when a rancher named Robert Reed Ellison reported seeing a group of glowing orbs as he drove his cattle through Paisano Pass. He assumed that they were Apache campfires, but no evidence of any fires or campsites could be found the following day. After that, more and more people began reporting the mysterious lights, and over the decades there would be so many sightings that during World War II there was even an air search conducted by pilots from nearby Midland Army Air Field to find the source of the lights, but they came back empty-handed and puzzled. On some occasions there have been reports that the lights seem to show some sort of intelligence, sometimes coming closer as if out of curiosity or seeming to investigate certain areas, or to react to sound, and there are even stories of people lost in the desert being led to safety by the lights. But what are they and where do they come from? That depends a lot on who you ask.
There have been numerous theories as to what the lights may be. One is that they are some sort of atmospheric phenomenon, in particular one called a Fata Morgana, which is an optical illusion that causes far away objects to appear closer and distorted through light passing through air layers of different temperatures in a steep thermal inversion, in which a defined layer of warm air is resting on a layer of much cooler air. Another idea is that these are the similarly distorted lights car headlights on the nearby Highway 67, made to look fuzzy and wavering by light scattering due to the air being unevenly heated by the ground, but this would not explain why they are most often seen well away from the highway, why they display such erratic and aberrant movements, why they have so many different appearances, or how they would have been seen so much back in 1883. Other ideas include static electricity produced by geological activity, ball lighting, illuminated gases from the natural gas and other petroleum hydrocarbons in the area, and of course alien UFOs and even ghosts, perhaps even all of the above. No one really knows for sure.
In the meantime, Marfa has embraced the lights and sought to turn them into a tourist attraction. There is a roadside parking area nine miles east of Marfa on U.S. Highway 90 specifically built for passing motorists to view the curious phenomenon, complete with a Marfa Lights viewing platform, and there is even an annual Marfa Lights Festival that features live music, food and a parade. What is going on with these lights? What are they? Are they just distant car headlights morphed into something more mysterious by atmospheric phenomena or are at least some of them something stranger? For now the Marfa lights still occasionally come out to do their dance, and no one is entirely sure of what they truly are.
In the last couple of years we’ve seen more and more information coming out of the U.S. government on the matter of UFOs. In fact, it’s practically impossible to avoid the incredible amount of UFO data that has been pouring out lately. But, some may be wondering, when was it that the government really got involved in the matters of UFOs and Flying Saucers? Let’s take a look. It was in the summer of 1947 that the UFO controversy began. On June 24, 1947 a pilot named Kenneth Arnold encountered a squadron of strange-looking, boomerang-like aircraft flying near Mt. Rainier, Washington State. As an experienced pilot, Arnold was puzzled by the fact that he was unable to figure out what, exactly, the craft were. On landing, Arnold shared his story with the media and told them that the objects flew like a saucer skimmed across a body of water – in a kind of up and down motion. In literally only hours, the term “Flying Saucer” was coined. The big irony is that the “Saucer” part came from Arnold’s observation of how the object flew, rather than their shape.

The U.S. military quickly moved to investigate the case, as well as a wave of quite literally hundreds of additional sightings throughout the remainder of 1947 and into 1948. Thus was born the government’s first UFO program, Project Sign. Interestingly, Project Sign staff concluded that there really was a UFO phenomenon, but they were unable to state with any degree of accuracy what the objects actually were. Theories posited by Sign personnel included Russian craft, and the creations of a secret group within the U.S. Government. Some of the Sign staff favored the extraterrestrial hypothesis. In 1948, Project Sign was replaced with Project Grudge. Just like Sign, Grudge had its personnel who championed the alien angle, while others suggested military aircraft of some kind – and either the product of Uncle Sam or the Soviets. Certainly, the most well-known of all the UFO programs was Project Blue Book.
Let’s see what the government says about all this:
“On December 17, 1969, the Secretary of the Air Force announced the termination of Project Blue Book, the Air Force program for the investigation of UFOs. From 1947 to 1969, a total of 12, 618 sightings were reported to Project Blue Book. Of these 701 remain ‘Unidentified.’ The project was headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, whose personnel no longer receive, document or investigate UFO reports. The decision to discontinue UFO investigations was based on an evaluation of a report prepared by the University of Colorado entitled, ‘Scientific Study of Unidentified Flying Objects;’ a review of the University of Colorado’s report by the National Academy of Sciences; past UFO studies and Air Force experience investigating UFO reports during the 40s, ’50s, and ’60s.”
The Air Force continues: “As a result of these investigations and studies and experience gained from investigating UFO reports since 1948, the conclusions of Project Blue Book are:(1) no UFO reported, investigated, and evaluated by the Air Force has ever given any indication of threat to our national security;(2) there has been no evidence submitted to or discovered by the Air Force that sightings categorized as “unidentified” represent technological developments or principles beyond the range of present-day scientific knowledge; and(3) there has been no evidence indicating that sightings categorized as “unidentified” are extraterrestrial vehicles. With the termination of Project Blue Book, the Air Force regulations establishing and controlling the program for investigating and analyzing UFOs were rescinded. Documentation regarding the former Blue Book investigation has been permanently transferred to the Military Reference Branch, National Archives and Records Administration, Washington, DC 20408, and is available for public review and analysis.””
There is also this from the Air Force: “Since Project Blue Book was closed, nothing has happened to indicate that the Air Force ought to resume investigating UFOS. Because of the considerable cost to the Air Force in the past, and the tight funding of Air Force needs today, there is no likelihood the Air Force will become involved with UFO investigation again. There are a number of universities and professional scientific organizations, such as the American Association for the Advancement of Science, which have considered UFO phenomena during periodic meetings and seminars. In addition, a list of private organizations interested in aerial phenomena may be found in Gale’s Encyclopedia of Associations (edition 8, vol-. 1, pp. 432-433). Such timely review of the situation by private groups ensures that sound evidence will not be overlooked by the scientific community. A person calling the base to report a UFO is advised to contact a private or professional organization (as mentioned above) or to contact a local law enforcement agency if the caller feels his or public safety is endangered.”
And, finally, there is this from the Air Force: “Periodically, it is erroneously stated that the remains of extraterrestrial visitors are or have been stored at Wright-Patterson AFB. There are not now nor ever have been, any extraterrestrial visitors or equipment on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.” This last piece, of course, is a nod to the notorious “Roswell UFO crash” of July 1947, and claims that strange bodies found outside of Roswell were secretly sent to Wright-Patterson for analysis and autopsy. Of course, since the Air Force wrote this summary, there have been a great deal of new developments. No doubt, and particularly in this period of strange uncertainty we’re in right now, it’s highly likely we’ll see far more and more revelations surfacing soon.
Scientists in a Russian lab have brought back to life miniature “zombies” that were frozen about 3.5 meters (11.5 feet) beneath the Siberian permafrost for 24,000 years (in the Alazeya River). These multicellular microscopic creatures, which are called bdelloid rotifers (or wheel animals), have been living in freshwater locations for approximately 50 million years.
Rotifers have miniature hair-like features called a cilia ring that circles its mouth. They have a lorica around their body for protection as well as a foot. Their tiny organs include a brain, eye-spot, jaw, kidneys, stomach, and urinary bladder.
In previous studies, researchers confirmed that rotifers could be frozen at a temperature of minus 4 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 20 degrees Celsius) and then brought back to life 10 years after. While that is incredible, the most recent study produced even more jaw-dropping results as the researchers were able to bring back the rotifers that were alive during the Pleistocene Epoch and were frozen for 24,000 years. When these creatures were thawed out, they started reproducing asexually through parthenogenesis and even created genetic duplicate clones.
The rotifers were found in Siberian permafrost.
In an email to Live Science, Stas Malavin, who is a researcher at the Institute of Physicochemical and Biological Problems in Soil Science in Pushchino, Russia, explained their experiment in more detail, “We put a piece of permafrost into a Petri dish filled with [a] suitable medium and wait until organisms that are alive recover from their dormancy, start moving, and multiply.” After they cloned themselves, they were so genetically identical that the researchers could not tell the difference between the new and old ones.
The fact that this creature was resuscitated from a suspended metabolic state (called cryptobiosis) is astonishing but actually quite normal for rotifers as they have evolved to be able to use cryptobiosis because of where they live – the waters could dry up or freeze over. Furthermore, they can restore any DNA that may get harmed and can protect their cells from damaging molecules. The study was published in the journal Current Biology where it can be read in full.

In a time where Americans and their leaders agree on almost nothing, who would have thought UFOs would unite us?
The truth is out there and former President Obama, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and even former President Trump are interested.
UFOs were a political and cultural force in midcentury America and the ‘90s. Now, as we await a Pentagon report on the subject, they’re back in vogue, generating segments on “60 Minutes,” making their way into interviews with former presidents and trending across the internet.
Here’s what you need to know, no tin foil hats required.
Why is everyone talking about UFOs right now?
Air and Space Magazine dubbed 2019 “the Year of UFOs,” but it may actually be 2021.
The Pentagon is expected to release a report this month on UFO sightings, the result of a program designed to record and investigate sightings by the U.S. military.
Defense officials and some lawmakers are publicly pushing for the release of information, including Rubio, the highest-ranking Republican member of the Senate Intelligence Committee.
“We cannot allow the stigma of UFO’s to keep us from seriously investigating this. The forthcoming report is one step in that process, but it will not be the last,” he said in a statement to the Tampa Bay Times.
But we probably wouldn’t be here without former Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada. Reid is among the loudest voices calling for information on UFOs.
In a bipartisan effort in 2007, he and late Sens.Ted Stevens(R-Alaska) andDaniel Inouye(D-Hawaii) secured $22 million in funding for the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program. Intelligence officials claimed it was disbanded in 2012, though former employees later told the New York Times thatit was still operationalthrough 2017.
Meanwhile, Reid continues to give interviews about UFOs. “Congress should make this an ongoing program. I don’t think the report is going to tell us too much,” he told the Guardian in an interview published Tuesday. “I think they need to study it more and not just have one shot at it.”
What’s in the report?
Passed in December, the Intelligence Authorization Act for the 2021 fiscal year directs the task force to deliver a report to Congress within 180 days on collected reports, with information on how it will analyze and track future sightings. And that report must be unclassified.
But it may not contain the validation some are looking for. While much of the program’s details remain classified as research is conducted, what has emerged indicates a growing military interest in UFOs as a national security threat.
They’re taking UFOs literally — unidentified flying objects that could have come from anywhere, such as another country. In other words, the threats they’re looking for are of the more terrestrial variety.
Still, new details might emerge about the events that have been reported. Military pilots describe erratic movements and lights that seem to defy physics, and aircraft shaped like a “Tic Tac.”
What’s different about 2021?
As with many conspiracy theories, UFO devotees have claimed for decades that government disclosure is imminent. The government has repeatedly dismissed discussion of UFOs.
The Times’ archives and those of other papers are full of officials downplaying reports of sightings. Sincere believers in the extraterrestrial are framed askooky punchlinesacross news, TV and film.
In 1977, NASA denied a request from President Carter — who said he had seen a UFO years earlier — to open a government investigation, calling the idea “wasteful and probably unproductive.”
The denial came after the Air Force shut down an investigative program called Project Blue Book in 1969, saying it uncovered little in two decades at “considerable expense,” according to an Associated Press story.
But there’s something different about this round of UFO mania. Now, it seems, Americans and their elected officials are on the same side (though President Biden has not indicated his stance). And the government has an actual deadline.
It’s also not an unexpected resurgence in public interest: We’re in the midst of a national reckoning with what it means for something to be true, prompting new demand for disclosures about everything from policing to ballot counting.
Belief in conspiracies (many much more dangerous) surged during Trump’s presidency, aided in part by the president. He also introduced a space element, establishing the Space Force and the new task force.
Hollywood and internet culture have also helped resurrect the UFO in public imagination. The “Storm Area 51” meme, which began as a Facebook event page, went viral and ended with about 2,000 people gathering in the Nevada desert in 2019 to joke about “rescuing” aliens and taking pictures.

What about aliens?
Americans love aliens. Perhaps you grew up watching a galaxy far, far away in “Star Wars” (1977), Sigourney Weaver fighting to survive in Ridley Scott’s “Alien” (1979) or Steven Spielberg’s “E.T.” (1982).
Not your speed? Maybe you listened to Blink-182’s “Aliens Exist” (1999) or loved the 1964 cult holiday classic “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians,” or consider yourself a fan of “The X-Files,” a landmark in the our-government-is-hiding-aliens storytelling tradition.
There’s a story for every interest group and time period, often with a trademark flying saucer and an undercurrent of distrust in authority. But the more information that becomes public, the more it becomes clear that what a UFO is and whether extraterrestrial life exists are two distinct questions.

— Biden also announced that Vice President Kamala Harris would steer the administration’s efforts to bolster voting rights, a daunting and challenging task that Democrats and voting rights advocates say is urgent, writes Noah Bierman.

There were some tense moments with NASA's Ingenuity Mars helicopter last month when it went wonky during its sixth flight. But the plucky chopper survived the in-flight anomaly and set itself down safely, setting the stage for a seventh flight.
NASA announced on Friday that it was aiming for no earlier than Sunday, June 6, for the next flight. It takes time to get data and updates from Mars, so we're waiting to hear the details and whether or not Ingenuity took off over the weekend. "Regardless of flight date, data will be returned to Earth over the subsequent three days," the agency said.
While the tech glitch was concerning, the Perseverance rover was able to confirm that Ingenuity landed itself in a safe spot. The next journey will take the rotorcraft to a new location 350 feet (106 meters) away.
The seventh flight will mark the second time the helicopter will set down on a landing site it hasn't previously surveyed from the air. The Ingenuity team is using data from NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter "that suggests this new base of operations is relatively flat and has few surface obstructions."
Ingenuity was designed as an experiment, a technology demonstration. It has proven that powered, controlled flight is possible on another planet and is now in a new phase of operations in which NASA is exploring how it can be used as a scout and assistant for the Perseverance rover.
Ingenuity is already considered a success, and each new flight is a bonus
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — A SpaceX Dragon cargo ship arrived at the International Space Station today (June 5) to deliver new solar arrays along with tons of fresh research experiments and NASA supplies as part of the company's 22nd cargo resupply mission.
The uncrewed Dragon autonomously linked up with the orbiting laboratory at 5:09 a.m. EDT (0909 GMT), parking at the zenith, or space-facing, side of the station's Harmony module. Docking occurred approximately 40 hours after the Dragon's launch on a Falcon 9 rocket Thursday (June 3) from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. At the time of docking, both spacecraft were sailing about 258 miles (415 kilometers) over the South Pacific Ocean.
"It was a great approach and was awesome watching it come on in, and we're glad it's here," NASA astronaut Shane Kimbrough told flight controllers after docking. "Looking forward to all the science and other goodies that it brought up along with our EVA solar arrays. It's going to be a great few weeks as we get into Dragon and get things out."

SpaceX's Dragon CRS-22 mission is the second upgraded supply ship to dock with the International Space Station (ISS) without the help of astronauts, who typically use the station's Canadarm2 robotic arm to grapple incoming cargo vessels and manually attach them to the station. However, two Expedition 65 crewmembers — Kimbrough and fellow NASA astronaut Megan McArthur — did monitor the docking from inside the station's Cupola observatory.
The arrival of this upgraded Dragon CRS-22 cargo spacecraft will bring the total number of SpaceX vehicles to two. A different Crew Dragon spacecraft, which brought four astronauts to the space station in April on the Crew-2 mission, is also currently docked at the Harmony module.
"Hard capture is complete and it's a great day seeing another Dragon on ISS [International Space Station]," spacecraft communicator Leslie Ringo radioed the station crew after docking from NASA's Mission Control in Houston.

This Cargo Dragon is SpaceX's second supply-toting vehicle to autonomously dock itself with the space station. That is a new feature thanks to some redesigns that SpaceX has made to its workhorse Dragon cargo spacecraft. The upgrades allow the vehicle to not only dock with the station (its predecessor was grappled by the station's robotic arm and berthed to the station with the help of astronauts on board) but also increased the craft's cargo capacity by about 20%, enabling more science.
This Dragon will be the second to splashdown in the Atlantic Ocean following a month-long stay attached to the ISS. This change allows researchers to receive their precious cargo shipments much faster than before.
On board the Dragon CRS-22 spacecraft is 7,300 lbs. (3,311 kilograms) of supplies and science investigations, including two brand new roll-out solar arrays that will help boost the space station's power supply. Built by RedWire and Boeing, the arrays are the first two in a set of six that will be installed on the station in the coming months.
Dubbed iROSA (ISS Roll-Out Solar Array), the first set of flexible solar panels will be installed this month as part of a series of spacewalks performed by Shane Kimbrough and Thomas Pesquet, on June 16 and 20. The design was first tested as part of a technology demonstration on a previous resupply mission.
In addition to the ISS, the solar arrays will be used on future missions, such as the Double Asteroid Redirection Test (or DART), which is set to launch on a SpaceX rocket later this year. It will also be used on NASA's planned Lunar Gateway, a part of the agency's Artemis moon program.
The Dragon CRS-22 mission marks the second cargo mission the company has flown under its second Commercial Resupply Services contract with NASA, called CRS-2.
SpaceX signed its first such contract with NASA in 2008, originally agreeing to launch 12 cargo missions to the space station between 2012 and 2016. NASA extended that contract to include a total of 20 Dragon cargo flights, for a total cost of about $700 million in 2015. (Northrop Grumman, formerly known as Orbital ATK, also received a contract to fly NASA cargo on its Cygnus cargo spacecraft.)
According to Montalbano, the cargo Dragon will remain docked with the space station until July. Once Cargo Dragon departs, the Crew Dragon currently docked with the station will switch parking spots, opening up a port on the ISS for an uncrewed Boeing Starliner spacecraft, which is scheduled to launch on its OFT-2 test flight to the station on July 30.

No probe has gotten a good view of Jupiter's largest moon since 2000, when NASA's Galileo spacecraft swung past the strange world, which is the largest moon in the whole solar system. But on Monday (June 7), at 1:35 p.m. EDT (1735 GMT), NASA's Juno spacecraft will skim just 645 miles (1,038 kilometers) above Ganymede's surface, gathering a host of observations as it does so.
"Juno carries a suite of sensitive instruments capable of seeing Ganymede in ways never before possible," principal investigator Scott Bolton, a space scientist at the Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, said in a NASA statement. "By flying so close, we will bring the exploration of Ganymede into the 21st century."
Ganymede is a fascinating world for scientists. Despite its status as a moon, it's larger than the tiny planet Mercury and is the only moon to sport a magnetic field, a bubble of charged particles dubbed a magnetosphere. Until now, the only spacecraft to get a good look at Ganymede were NASA's twin Voyager probes in 1979 and the Galileo spacecraft, which flew past the moon in 2000.
The massive Jovian moon will be a main target of the European Space Agency's Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer mission, known as JUICE, which is due to launch next year and arrive in the Jupiter system in 2029. But that's a long time to wait, and Juno, which launched in 2011, carries significantly more powerful technology than the Voyagers and Galileo spacecraft did.
So scientists are thrilled to make use of the Juno opportunity. During the flyby, several of the spacecraft's instruments will observe Ganymede, including three different cameras, radio instruments, the Ultraviolet Spectrograph (UVS), the Jovian Infrared Auroral Mapper (JIRAM) instruments and the Microwave Radiometer (MWR).
That last instrument's measurements are particularly intriguing for scientists, who hope to use them to identify the different ingredients in the lighter and darker patches of Ganymede's ice shell.
And among the cameras studying the moon will be, of course, the same JunoCam that has snapped such stunning portraits of the gas giant throughout the mission. However, because the icy moon will appear and fade in just 25 minutes, mission scientists expect the instrument will be able to take only five images of Ganymede during the encounter.
But despite the excitement of the unusual moon flyby, Juno scientists can't lose sight of a milestone coming close on the heels of the Ganymede investigation, when the spacecraft makes another flyby of its usual target, Jupiter itself.
"Literally every second counts," Matt Johnson, Juno mission manager at JPL, said in the same statement. "On Monday, we are going to race past Ganymede at almost 12 miles per second (19 kilometers per second). Less than 24 hours later, we're performing our 33rd science pass of Jupiter — screaming low over the cloud tops, at about 36 miles per second (58 kilometers per second).
That means Juno will zoom by Ganymede at a speed of about 43,200 mph (69,523 kph) and then whip around Jupiter at a whopping 129,600 mph (208,571 kph). But Juno's ready for it, Johnson said.
"It is going to be a wild ride."

Photos and videos show alleged objects and living things on Mars
UFO hunters have found everything from ‘lizards’ to ‘bears’ by combining images of Mars taken by rovers like Perseverance.
It may be touted as humanity’s main cosmic destination but, if UFO hunters are to be believed, Mars is already home to a vast collection of animals.
Some theorists have found everything from ‘crabs’ and ‘lizards’ to ‘bears’ and ‘rabbits’ by combining images of the red planet taken by rovers like Curiosity.
Of course, most experts believe that they are simply rocks of interesting shapes and it is a clever trick of the mind that makes us think that we are seeing creatures.
Last year, several UFO hunters saw a “baby bear” on Mars and claimed that it would be alive, based on its “hair” and the shadows that were seen around its body.
It was identified by YouTube user “Paranormal Crucible” among photos of Gale crater taken by NASA’s Curiosity rover, who alerted the UFO Sightings Daily website.
Site editor Scott C Waring said: “There is a reason NASA puts the photos in black and white. To hide living beings and plants that are of an obvious color ”.
“This creature has real hair as seen from the shadows around its body. That means it is not a statue, but a living creature. “
“Paranormal Crucible” called his find a ‘possible hybrid rodent’ rather than a bear and exaggerated certain characteristics, including a tail, in his video.
He wrote: “The anomaly that was photographed near the gale crater appears to show a small mammal-like creature, possibly a hybrid species of gundi or prairie dog.”
Months earlier, another blogger claimed to have seen “a lizard roaming Mars.”
The claim, published again in UFO Sightings Daily, made some theorists fearful that NASA could be planting life on the planet for scientific testing.
“With the existing water on Mars in small amounts, it is possible to find desert animals roaming around … although it is very rare,” Waring wrote on his site.
While all of these ‘animals’ may be living on Mars according to UFO hunters, scientists have explained that their presence is a trick of the mind called pareidolia.
Seth Shostak , director of the Center for Seti Research, said it is the psychological response to seeing faces and other important, everyday items in a random stimulus.
It is a form of apophenia, which is when people see patterns or connections in random, unconnected data.
Human eyes can detect faces within their environment and help them to recognize friends in a crowd, calculate how fast a car is traveling, and see patterns.
Scientists claim that we also tend to use this ability to ‘enrich our imaginations’ and recognize meaningful shapes, even when they are not there.
“Those who send me [images] are generally quite excited, as they claim that they often look like something you wouldn’t expect to find on the rusty and dusty surface of the red planet,” Shostak said.
On the evening of November 17th of 1986, Japan Airlines flight 1628, a Boeing 747-200F cargo aircraft, was en route from Paris to a layover in Anchorage, Alaska on its way to Tokyo. The three-person crew was led by pilot Kenju Terauchi, who would go on to report a seemingly inexplicable encounter in the skies over northern Alaska as they approached the airport in Anchorage.
The story told by Captain Terauchi, potentially corroborated by his First Officer, Takanori Tamefuji, and his flight engineer, Yoshie Tsukuba, would go on to become the stuff of legends. On account of this, anyone with even a moderate interest in the UFO/UAP topic has likely heard of the incident, which became one of the more hotly debated reports of an encounter with unexplained craft in our skies by a commercial airline pilot. The incident has been featured in multiple television programs and docuseries, and touted as one of the most compelling UFO reports in modern history. In addition to the eye-witness testimony given by all three crew members when they were interviewed during the investigation that followed, the FAA eventually provided radar data from the event and transcripts of radio tower chatter with the plane.
Questions about the event quickly arose, however, leading some to wonder if Captain Terauchi had truly witnessed anything extraordinary at all. Unfortunately, much of the FAA information seemed to go missing as the years went by, though various bits and pieces could still be found online. The debunking of UFO reports was already a thriving industry by the mid-80s, and the Japan Airlines flight 1628 incident was subjected to the same skeptical inquiries as all the rest.
However, this month FOIA government records archivist John Greenewald, proprietor of The Black Vault, completed a 17-year quest to acquire the full package of FAA records from that investigation, much of which had purportedly been destroyed. Following an update he published this week, The Debrief pored over this trove of documents to see if any more definitive answers regarding this long-standing case might be uncovered.
WHAT WAS IT THE PILOT CLAIMED TO HAVE SEEN?
You can read much lengthier recountings of the tale online, but we’ll provide the thumbnail version of the story here to get our readers started. On the evening in question, while approaching Anchorage, the crew of JAL1628 (primarily Terauchi) reported seeing two brightly illuminated objects off to the left of their aircraft. After initially ignoring them, assuming it was just random commercial or military traffic in the area, the objects reportedly moved closer to the cargo jet and began pacing alongside it.
At that point, Terauchi radioed the control tower in Anchorage to ask if there was any other traffic in the area. He was told there was not, but the tower did tell the captain that they were picking up other craft in his vicinity, though only intermittently. The pilot was granted permission to undertake a series of course and altitude changes to avoid a possible collision, but the objects continued to track the jet. At their closest approach, Captain Terauchi reported that the plane’s cabin was lit up brightly and the crew could feel heat emanating from them.
The two objects eventually departed, but they were then replaced by a much larger craft that Terauchi would later describe as a “mother ship” trailing behind them. That “chase” continued until shortly before Japan Airlines 1628 was approaching the airfield at Anchorage. The flight then landed safely and without incident.
ISSUES SOON AROSE OVER THE CREW’S REPORTS
Reading through all of the FAA documents, numerous details pop up, some of which appear to support the accounts of the crew members while others provide fuel for skeptics of their accounts. The FAA is traditionally very guarded about discussing anomalous sightings, but they conducted what appears to be a very thorough investigation in this case. Of potential interest is the fact that the government retained and highlighted an article published by Philip J. Klass in the magazine Special Reports in the summer of the following year.
Klass was well known as a skeptic of UFO encounter accounts and studied all of the data seeking mundane explanations as to what had actually happened. True to form, he cited numerous issues with the information that had been supplied and developed alternate explanations for some of the accounts of the crew as well as the data collected by the control tower.
The final determination that Klass reached was that the first two brightly lit objects seen by the crew were most likely bright stars peeking through the sporadic cloud cover and the “mother ship” behind the flight was probably the planet Jupiter. The public affairs officer for the FAA in Alaska seemed more than content to accept Klass’ analysis. He went on record saying that his agency “does not have the resources or the Congressional mandate to investigate sightings of unidentified flying objects.”
CONFUSION ARISES IN INTERVIEWS WITH THE JAPAN AIRLINES 1628 CREW
Some of the initial problems in the fine details of the investigation come with the transcripts of the interviews done with the crew. For example, the interview with Captain Terauchi conducted by Richard Gordon, the manager of the regional Flight Standards District Office, seems fairly coherent. But despite having an interpreter present, the interview appears to have been conducted in English and the Captain’s command of the language seems limited at best. He describes the various lights he saw and the events he remembers, but much of it is garbled. He also describes attempting to take a picture of the objects with his camera.
But the interviewer spends a lot of time asking him about previous UFO sightings he had reported. This was something Klass picked up on, describing Terauchi as a “UFO repeater” because he’d had two previous sightings. Klass describes this as a red flag, implying that, as a believer, Terauchi may have simply seen what he wanted to see. Of course, others might argue that Terauchi was a repeat experiencer and more likely to have such encounters. The captain later provided an extensive set of notes about his experience where he waxed poetic on the subject of UFOs.
Other problems arise with the interviews done with the other two crew members. The interview with First Officer Takanori Tamefuji was similarly done in English despite the presence of an interpreter. Much of it is barely understandable, but he does explain that he couldn’t see much of what was going on to the left of the plane because of his position on the right side of the cockpit. When the objects were directly ahead of the plane he describes them as being “only lights” and he couldn’t say they were distinguishable from stars.
The interview with flight engineer Yoshie Tsukuba is far more concise. The first question from Tsukuba is “may I speak Japanese?” The interpreter handles it from that point on and the record is presented in a quite clear and coherent fashion. He seems to lend at least some credence to the captain’s account, describing two types of “lights” that were not “town lights.” But he also could not make out any sort of craft or structure. They were just lights. That’s quite different from the captain’s descriptions.
THE HARD DATA PAINTS MORE OF THE PICTURE
Perhaps the best piece of data in this collection is the transcription of the radio traffic taking place during the entire event. It covers a period of more than half an hour, starting when Captain Terauchi first reports the unexpected “traffic” in his vicinity and lasting until the plane lands in Anchorage. It includes input from JAL1628, two air traffic controllers in the tower, the local military Regional Operations Command Center ROCC), and two other aircraft that were eventually pulled into the action.
There are several key moments in the transcript that can offer us more insight into what was taking place. At 02:25 (all times UTC) air traffic control tells Japan Airlines 1628 that they have picked up a radar hit five miles behind them and asks if they concur. The captain rejects that, saying the target is nearly straight in front of them. ROCC is asked if they have anything on radar and they say they’re getting some “surge” around the airliner but suspect it might be erroneous. Air traffic control counters that it’s not erroneous and that they are seeing two targets, but shortly after that they indicate that they’ve lost the radar track also. Another air traffic control station in Fairbanks also reports seeing nothing on radar except for the Japan Airlines flight.
This is an important clue because it takes us to the stored radar data provided by the FAA. After the returns were analyzed, the FAA concluded that what the control tower was seeing (and none of the other radar systems saw) was most likely an “uncorrelated primary and beacon target.” This is similar to a phenomenon seen with surface radar systems on naval vessels known as ghost returns. They represent an instance where the radar system’s receiver is “listening” and picks up a signal at an incorrect moment in the reception cycle, making it appear that an actual object is in a different position than it really occupies. Klass picked up on that explanation as well.

At 02:40, despite nobody else identifying another craft in the area, the tower asks the captain if he would like ROCC to scramble a jet to come look for the other craft. Captain Terauchi immediately responds by saying “negative, negative.” In his notes, Terauchi claims that he “recalled stories” about military planes being deployed to investigate UFOs and flying into danger, so he didn’t want to put them in that sort of a position. Later in the transcript, a United Airlines commercial cargo jet and a military C-130 are both diverted into visual range of Japan Airlines 1628 and report seeing nothing but the Japan Airlines flight in the sky.
CONCLUSION: WAS ANY OF THIS REAL?
This story has been covered so many times on “unexplained” television series and by ufology bloggers that many in ufology circles seem to take it as gospel. And the descriptions of some of these events that they rely on to make the case certainly do lend it the patina of truth. But when you poke too far into the gritty details, some of the flaws in the story become somewhat glaring.
We should not discount Captain Terauchi out of hand simply for having reported multiple incidents or being “a believer.” Many experiencers report multiple sightings. But with that said, other details found in this data should give us pause. Neither of the two crew members confirmed seeing anything except “lights” while the captain described an object with “nozzles.” The crews of two other aircraft saw nothing at all.
Out of four separate radar systems, two produced no returns, one had a momentary glitch that seemed erroneous, and the last one acquired a target briefly (if it wasn’t also a glitch) that simply disappeared. Some may argue that the technology observed in UAP is so advanced it can likely evade radar, and that’s a reasonable point. But if so, wouldn’t it evade all radar rather than just some of them?
Without seeming to throw cold water on anyone’s parade, a detailed examination of this FAA package leaves multiple holes in the story that, at a minimum, should leave us room to acknowledge the arguments being made by skeptics. What the tale of Japan Airlines 1628 boils down to is the eyewitness testimony of a single witness. Multiple other trained observers either saw nothing or reported “lights” that could have been stars or planets. And the type of technical data we all crave as supporting evidence, such as has been offered in some of the Navy encounters we’ve discussed here, is simply not in evidence. The reader is left to decide for themself, but on further analysis, this widely-popularized UFO incident doesn’t appear as strong as popular media would have us believe when subjected to close scrutiny.

Scythians and other warring cultures and the archaeological remnants of their history are under attack by developers in Ukraine looking to construct new luxury country homes. There are two roadblocks in their quest for unrestricted profiteering. The first comes in the form of 4,000-5,500-year-old burial mounds, almost 100,000 in number and scattered across the countryside, which are only protected by a very thin topsoil.

“It has a very thin topsoil, literally 10 cm. This is very little and it is causing it to swell, deteriorate, etc. This is why it was decided to investigate it", says Dmitry Teslenko, head of the Dnieper archaeological expedition of the Ukrainian Archaeological Guard Service.

The second roadblock to the construction project is the nongovernmental preservation group Guardians of the Mounds , founded in 2019 under the aegis of Oleksandr Klykavka, which has become a national movement over the last 20 months. In the village of Novooleksandrivka, 10 kilometers (6.21 miles) south of the town of Dnipro in east-central Ukraine, “excavations of a unique kurgan or burial mound have been underway for more than 1.5 months” reports Archaeology News Network .
These are burial mounds that have attracted grave robbers and archaeologists in equal measure, with a variety of artifacts - which includes combs and dishes, but also heaps of golden jewelry, according to NY Times . The dimensions of the unique kurgan are astounding, 120 x 80 m (393.70 x 262.47 ft.) and 7 m (22.97 ft.) in height! Proper road clearance and construction equipment had to be employed to conduct a field survey of this unimaginable scale, including bulldozers. The excavations have revealed 24 burials from the Bronze Age, Scythians (Iron age), and the Middle Ages.
"Because of their nomadic nature, the people carried only the bare necessities. However, sometimes interesting finds are found: pots, necklaces made of wolf or dog canines. For example, a burial has now been discovered where dog toe bones were lying next to human remains. A triple grave has also been found where the skeleton of a man lay in the middle and the skeletons of a woman and child were pressed against him on each side.", says Teslenko.
"The central part is being explored now. There is a lot of manual work. We also use machinery. But I would like to point out that all the machinery works solely under the supervision of archaeologists. The bulldozer removes several centimetres of the soil layer and if we see that something is wrong, the work stops," says field archaeologist Yaroslav Yaroshenko.
Several historians postulate that the mounds served a purpose that exceeded simple religious rites. Noblemen were sent into the after-life with the luxuries and status they enjoyed when alive, along with “ sacrificed wives, servants and horses ”.
There are other interpretations of the mounds too, keeping in mind the topography of the Ukrainian countryside and land, and the ever-looming threat of Russian invasion. The mounds were perhaps erected as a show of strength and defiance against the enemy , most definitely the Russians, to deter their advance into land that was not theirs.
The Cromlech – A Ukrainian Stonehenge?
The mound was dated to 5,500 years ago, coinciding with the Eneolithic period (the transitional period between the Neolithic and Bronze Age, 2500-2000 BC). In the middle of the mound, the “Dnipro Stonehenge” was found – a series of stone blocks (like megaliths) forming an 18 m (59.06 ft.) diameter circle, called a “cromlech”. According to the archaeologist :
"As for the stone circle, it is worth noting that it had a purely structural function above all. The cromlech is an integral part of a massive complex structure. The structure consisted of a stone circle set vertically. There was a truncated cone on top of the circle. This allowed the ground to be supported and prevented the mound from sprawling outwards. The mounds could then be given other symbolic meanings. For example, one of the most famous cromlechs in the world, Stonehenge, has at various times been interpreted as a druid sanctuary or an astronomical observatory. It is also worth noting that the oldest burials on the Novoalexandrovsky burial mound date to about 3,500 BC. This potentially suggests that the cromlech near the Dnieper is older than Stonehenge."

The Challenge of Ukrainian Burial Mounds and Accurate Historical Reconstruction
Ukraine is coming to terms with its illustrated past, even while the Russian threat is constantly on the horizon. In this midst, a development of fascinating scientific techniques is turning up a lot of answers about ancient Ukrainian history, including DNA taken from the people within the mounds. It is imperative to preserve this history by studying it first, instead of destroying it for housing.
As it is, these mounds have been repeatedly robbed and stripped bare of their valuables, making the reconstruction of the past even more difficult. These mounds have also been reused, with new bodies being dumped in older structures to cut labor costs and effort, whilst enjoying the splendor of royal burials.
For example, one of the Dnipro mounds “dates to a pre-historic Indo-Iranian culture ”, but contains a coffin from around the 4th century BC. Another addition to this mound is a coffin emblazoned with a red star, probably a local Communist Party leader. A Scythian mound also witnessed a mass burial of deceased World War II soldiers, with the Soviet government building a monument on top.
"The mound's exploration has not yet been completed. The best is yet to come", says Teslenko. "In about a week, we will completely clear the cromlech and the space inside it, allowing the ancient structure to be seen in virtually pristine condition. It's estimated that in just ten days we will reach the most ancient burials inside the stone ring, if the weather permits", Teslenko adds. "Certainly it is a foregone conclusion that the individual buried and protected by the cromlech was highly respected by this society. This is the only way to explain the monumental character of the construction."

Anomalous Metallic Object Discovered Inside a 4.5 Billion-Year-Old Meteorite
As meteorite dealers, my wife Linda and I have continued supplying meteorites and importing new stock throughout lockdown. On Friday, April 17th 2020, I received a parcel of meteorites I had ordered from a dependable regular source. These were twenty examples of a very well-known and popular common chondrite known as NWA 869. One of them was different and appeared to contain a metallic object inside.
For over twenty years we have been the owners of the UK’s only full-time meteorite dealership, Spacerocks UK. We both have university qualifications in astronomy and have lectured widely at many of the country’s most auspicious institutions. At any one moment we have several thousand meteorites of all types in our inventory. We are therefore completely familiar with their appearance.
The Very Ancient Origins of Meteorites
At this point, it’s worth giving a brief explanation about what meteorites are and where they come from. The solar system (the Sun, planets, asteroids and comets) condensed from a cloud of dust and gas known as the solar nebula around five billion years ago. The first solid objects were millimetric spheres called chondrules. These joined together over a few million years to form increasingly large chunks. Eventually, by collision, these accreted to form planetissimals and finally, around 4.5 billion years ago, the eight large planets and other, smaller bodies that make up the solar system.
Meteors, or shooting stars, are caused when fragments heat up as they enter the Earth’s atmosphere. If they survive to reach the Earth’s surface, they are known as meteorites.
The vast gaps between the orbits of the eight major planets are full of debris left over from these early days. Additionally, a region between Mars and Jupiter holds many thousands of smaller planetary objects known as asteroids. These occasionally collide (more so in the past), launching further rocky and metallic debris into the solar system .
If one of these fragments collides with the Earth on its passage around the Sun, it will heat up to over 6,000 degrees Celsius because of friction with the atmosphere. This is the cause of the familiar shooting stars, or meteors, we may see at night. If a chunk is large enough, it may survive and reach the surface of the Earth. This residual object is known as a meteorite.
Explaining the Types of Meteorite
There are, broadly speaking, three types of meteorite:
1) Chondrites: fragments of the original ancient stones that remain from the beginnings of the solar system. These often contain chondrules, the small spheres mentioned earlier. Chondrites are all around 4.5 billion years old.
2) Achondrites:stony material blasted off the surface of a planet, asteroid or satellite by the impact of another object. Achondrite meteorites have been proven to have originated on many bodies, including Mars, the Moon and asteroids such as Vesta.
3) Irons and stony irons are fragments of the cores of fully-formed small planets that were disrupted during collisions billions of years ago. As the first planets grew in size, heavy elements such as nickel and iron sank to their centers to form metallic cores, like that of the Earth.
Generally speaking, meteorites are named after the place where they fell or were found. That’s why the iron meteorite that made the Arizona Meteor Crater is called Canyon Diablo and that which exploded over Russia in 1947 is known as Sikhote-Alin.
A 1.7kg individual meteorite from the Sikhote Alin meteorite shower (coasrsest octahedrite, class IIAB). This specimen is about 12cm wide. Sikhote Alin meteorite shower fell on 1947 February 12 in the dense forest of eastern Siberia, and over 23 tons of meteoritic material has been recovered.
The meteorite we are discussing here, NWA 869, comes from a large strewn field which was the 869 th such to be discovered in North West Africa: hence its name. Why 869 is so prized by collectors is that most of meteorites from this field are small, complete examples, rather than fragments of larger bodies that exploded as they passed through the atmosphere (see photos).
The majority have an attractive blue-grey fusion crust (melted surfaced) and their shape reflects their attitude as they streaked downwards. This is known as ‘orientation’: a bit like the way spacecraft enter the atmosphere heat-shield first. OK, that’s the technical stuff out of the way!

When I was processing the parcel of newly-arrived 869s, I suddenly noticed a metallic glint from one of them. This isn’t unusual: all chondrites contain nickel-iron and some (see photo) display quite obvious metallic flecks. This was different. In this case, the shiny region could be seen to be a small cylindrical feature around 6 mm (0.2 in) in diameter.
This metallic area was protruding at an angle from a region of glassy fusion crust, which, in places, could be seen to flow away from the object. Another interesting feature is that the cylinder had a small impact crater on its surface, something not uncommonly seen on iron meteorites or, indeed, spacecraft on their return from orbit.
The meteorite and its strange inclusion have been examined both microscopically and spectroscopically by a contact at the University of East Anglia. The preliminary results indicate that the silver cylinder is not composed of any of the usual accessory minerals found in meteorites. Further examination is scheduled.

I have no doubt at all that the object embedded in the NWA 869 meteorite was in place as the stone entered the Earth’s atmosphere some time in the past. Since the meteorite itself was formed several hundred millions of years before the planets, it begs the questions: who made it, and where did it originate before becoming part of the solar nebula? A very real possibility might be that the cylinder originated on a planet orbiting a Population 2 star that exploded as a nova several billion years before our solar system formed.

What Could This Discovery Mean?
The oldest stars in the universe are, counterintuitively, called Population 3 stars. The “nuclear furnaces” at the heart of these were the origin of some of the elements “heavier” than hydrogen. As these ancient stars ran out of hydrogen, the larger ones would have shrunk, then exploded, releasing gas, dust and some of these heavier elements into the universe. It was this material that condensed to form Population 2 stars ten to fifteen billion years ago. The larger examples of these also underwent cataclysmic supernovae, generating regions of star formation where Population 1 stars like our Sun – and their associated planets – condensed.
It is now known that planets are very common. So far astronomers have discovered over 4,000! It is probably the case that most Pop 1 stars have planetary systems. Since the oldest of these stars were formed ten billion years ago – twice as long ago as the Sun – it would seem highly likely that life and ultimately civilizations evolved upon those in suitable locations.
Any that ended their lives as supernovae will have scattered all kinds of stellar, planetary and – possibly – archaeological debris into its galaxy. Either we are alone – unique – in the cosmos, or life occurs wherever there is the slightest possibility of it: in which case, we should expect to find alien artifacts within ancient meteorites.

Over the decades, numerous people in the UFO field have become the subjects of government files. And no, that’s not a case of being paranoid. Dozens upon dozens of well-known people in the UFO scene really have had their lives scrutinized, and all in the name of little green men. Well, not quite. Yes, the files do exist. But, the reasons for why such dossiers have been put together might surprise you. Indeed, most of the people in the subject have been watched because of something far more inflammatory than aliens: politics. Take the most controversial Contactee of all, George Adamski. He claimed to have had meetings out in the wilds of California with peace-loving ETs. He even claimed flights in Flying Saucers. Yeah, right. And, his FBI file runs to hundreds of pages. And I’m not kidding. The FBI, however, wasn’t particularly bothered about Adamski’s claims of extraterrestrial contact. What the Bureau was concerned about , however, was his politics. In the early 1950s, in his usually packed lectures, Adamski said that communism was the way of the future and that Russia could destroy the West, if it chose to. The fact that all of this was influencing the minds of hundreds upon hundreds of gullible people was of deep concern to the FBI. Hence, the reason why the “Adamski file” was opened.
Likewise, fellow Contactee George Van Tassel had a lengthy file opened on him. It ran to 319 pages. Again, the Bureau cared not a bit about Van Tassel’s alleged alien contacts. They were very interested, though, in Van Tassel’s words on American politics, religion, the U.S. government, the economy and more. For years, literally thousands upon thousands of people headed out to Giant Rock, California to hear Van Tassel talk. And the FBI listened carefully. Now, onto George Hunt Williamson. Certainly, he was a well-known figure in the world of the Contactees and the Space Brothers. And, an FBI file was opened on the man. The reason? Nothing to do with aliens. The primary reason why Williamson had a file on him was because he was suspected of smuggling ancient artifacts over the Mexico border and into the United States. Something like that is all but guaranteed to ensure a file will be opened on you. For a while the FBI deeply pondered on whether or not they should get further involved in the pursuit of a potential crime that had occurred outside of its jurisdiction and in another country – Mexico – but finally dropped the matter; rather fortunately, it must be said, for Williamson.
Now, let’s jump forward almost half a century after the antics of the “Three Georges.” Certain people in Ufology laughed and were highly skeptical when, in 2006, I wrote a book called On the Trail of the Saucer Spies, in which I mentioned how a retired British police source told me that, back in the 1990s, the British Police Force’s Special Branch opened files on two UFO researchers in the UK, namely Matthew Williams and Robin Cole. Those same certain people should have kept their mouths firmly shut. The files on Cole and Williams (or, rather, some of the files; others still remain classified to this day) were finally officially released in 2012, showing that Special Branch was indeed watching both men, demonstrating that the data provided to me years ago was accurate. When, in 2012, the documents were declassified, the National Archives prepared the following statement concerning their contents:
“File DEFE 24/1984/1 (p294) contains a 1996 Parliamentary Question from Martin Redmond MP asking on how many occasions MI6 and GCHQ have monitored UFO investigations. This was interpreted to mean ‘have the agencies been keeping watch on UFOlogists.’ A background briefing says ‘neither agency in fact undertakes such activity, though GCHQ cannot rule out the possibility’ they had monitored ‘in other contexts individuals who have made a study of UFOs’. The MP was told the government do not comment on the intelligence and security agencies (p298). File DEFE 24/1987/1 (p262-65) reveals that in 1997 Special Branch took an interest in a UFOlogist who became obsessed with rumours of a secret UFO facility beneath RAF Rudloe Manor in Wiltshire. The base had become known as the British equivalent of the secret US military airbase ‘Area 51’ among conspiracy theorists. An internal note said ‘Special Branch…do not believe he poses a specific threat to security, but they are alert to the risk that others may use him as a conduit for their activities.'”
Well, since the summary failed to note the names of the people in question, I will. They were, of course, Cole and Williams – as I had been told during the course of writing On the Trail of the Saucer Spies. Back in 1997, Robin Cole, of Cheltenham, England – the home to GCHQ (the Government Communications Headquarters) – wrote a fascinating report on the agency’s involvement in the UFO phenomenon. And, for those who may not be aware, GCHQ is the UK equivalent of the US National Security Agency. After Cole’s report was published, he was visited by two representatives of the UK’s Special Branch. And since the pair announced their visit in advance (via a phone-call), Robin had the good sense to clandestinely and quickly set up his tape-recorder in his living-room and taped the entire conversation, much of which revolved around Special Branch’s interest in a UFO researcher and Crop Circle maker named Matthew Williams – who just happens to be the “UFOlogist who became obsessed” with RAF Rudloe Manor, as referenced by National Archives staff above. Special Branch’s concerns that both the UFO controversy and the people that investigate it could be used as tools of manipulation by hostile groups with controversial, political agendas.
Since the 1950s, files have been opened on Ufologists. On every occasion, though, UFOs were shown not to have been the primary cause for concern on the part of government agencies. But, politics, in particular, was. In all likelihood, it still is.
Back in 2006, two locals were assembling their cattle on their property close to Eromanga in the south-western part of Queensland when they found very significant dinosaur bones. And now, 15 years after Robyn and Stuart Mackenzie made the discovery, the Eromanga Natural History Museum has officially announced that the skeleton belonged to the largest dinosaur that ever roamed Australia and is one of the biggest in the entire world.
The dinosaur, which has been named, “Australotitan cooperensis”, is nicknamed “Cooper” because it was found close to the Cooper Creek. This new gigantic sauropod species is said to be one of the top 15 biggest dinosaurs in the world. This long-necked dinosaur lived between 92 and 96 million years ago during the Cretaceous Period.
It measured between 5 and 6.5 meters in height (16.4 to 21.3 feet) and between 25 and 30 meters long (82 to 98.4 feet). Additionally, the researchers estimated that it would have weighed between 50 and 70 tonnes. Now that’s massive!
Mrs. Mackenzie, who is a palaeontologist that runs the Eromanga Museum, stated that when she found the first bones belonging to the dinosaur, she had no idea how significant they were, “It wouldn’t have entered our mind that we were about to deal with an animal that was the largest in Australia and one of the largest in the world.”
Dr. Scott Hocknull, who is a vertebrate palaeontologist at the Queensland Museum, described the exceptionally long work they did to finally be able to properly identify this large dinosaur, “It’s taken this long because it’s such a painstaking piece of work, you’ve got to take the bones out of the ground, you’ve got to prepare the fossils, and then you’ve got to study them and compare them against all other species of dinosaurs worldwide,” adding, “This is huge, this is a fantastic beast. Imagine something the size of a basketball court walking around on land.”
Mrs. Mackenzie is optimistic that more significant discoveries like “Cooper” are just waiting to be made. “There’s dozens of sites, there’s dozens of dinosaurs potentially out there that will need preparation and then research after they’ve been dug up,” she noted.
Dr. Hocknull went a step further by saying that there are potentially even larger dinosaurs waiting to be unearthed, “One of the questions that I’m always asking is what ate the plant eaters?” “We know that Australotitan — or Cooper — was a plant eater, so what was marauding around trying to eat these guys? We don’t have any evidence of that just yet.” “That’s exciting because it means that there must be another big story out there.” The study was published in PeerJwhere it can be read in full.

Obama Offers Thoughts on UFOs
Former President Barack Obama has once again offered his thoughts on UFOs, specifically musing about what might occur if it were discovered that aliens were behind the phenomenon. He shared the intriguing insights during an appearance on this week’s edition of the New York Times podcast The Ezra Klein Show. Asked about his previous assertion that he would like to know what UFOs are, Obama replied “absolutely” and the former president was then posed with the rather eyebrow-raising scenario of how his politics might change if it were confirmed that the phenomenon is extraterrestrial in nature.
The former president first explored the parameters of such a hypothetical event, wondering if we would be able to make contact with these ETs. However, Klein opted for perhaps the least fantastic version of such a development, saying “we can’t get in touch. We just know we’re not alone and someone’s been here.”Within that framework, which Obama called “interesting,” he indicated that a proverbial alien disclosure would not change his politics in particular since they are“premised on the fact that we are these tiny organisms on this little speck floating in the middle of space.”
Obama noted that he would often cite this idea to his staff, explaining that “I’d tell them a statistic that John Holdren, my science adviser, told me, which was that there are more stars in the known universe than there are grains of sand on the planet Earth.” He went on to observe that there are many differences among humans inhabiting the planet right now and expressed the hope “that the knowledge that there were aliens out there would solidify people’s sense that what we have in common is a little more important.”
Perhaps the most tantalizing aspect of Obama’s answer centered around the repercussions of such a revelation, as he noted that“no doubt there would be immediate arguments about like, well, we need to spend a lot more money on weapons systems to defend ourselves.”Additionally, he theorized that “new religions would pop up”and in what may be something of a worrisome, but probably accurate thought, he ultimately mused “who knows what kind of arguments we get into. We’re good at manufacturing arguments for each other.”
Pentagon Confirms Leaked Video Showing “Transmedium” UFO Is Authentic

The Pentagon has confirmed that newly leaked footage, appearing to show an unidentified aerial object that was filmed as it entered the ocean, was obtained by US Navy personnel and is being examined by the Navy’s UAP Task Force.
The video was obtained by personnel aboard the USS Omaha, a United States Navy Independence-class littoral combat ship, during a 2019 incident that occurred off the California coast.
The footage was posted online on Friday, May 14 by documentary filmmaker Jeremy Corbell on his Instagram account. Corbell previously released footage at his website in recent weeks depicting a series of pyramid-shaped objects filmed by Navy personnel which the Pentagon subsequently confirmed to be authentic. According to Corbell, the newly released video was filmed from within the Combat Information Center (CIC) of the USS Omaha on July 15, 2019, at approximately 11 PM EST.
The Debrief reached out to the Pentagon about the newly leaked video asking whether it could be confirmed as authentic, and whether it was obtained by Navy personnel aboard the USS Omaha.
“I can confirm that the video was taken by Navy personnel, and that the UAPTF included it in their ongoing examinations,” said Pentagon spokesperson Susan Gough in an email response.

The Debrief also inquired as to whether the video was included in reports by the Navy’s UAP Task Force, and whether the object in the video has been classed as “unknown” and possibly representing unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP).
On May 7, 2019, USS Omaha (LCS-12) departed from its San Diego homeport for sea trials after serving a 10-month Post Shakedown Availability (PSA). The following month on June 20, the Omaha (Crew 212), with Cmdr. David W. Walton Jr. in command, made a short stop to unload ammunition at Bravo Pier, and was subsequently moored at Naval Base San Diego again before returning to sea for the majority of the month of July. The warship returned home again on August 1.
The USS Omaha during these exercises in the summer of 2019, USS Omaha was one of several Navy vessels that observed unusual aerial objects, while operating in a sensitive training range within 100 miles of the California coast. Following the incidents, inquiries from Naval intelligence officers and investigations by the FBI field office in Los Angeles were conducted.
According to a transcript of the video by George Knapp the dialogue from within the USS Omaha Combat Information Center reads:
:05 “Took off, booking’ it.” :21 “Break, OMAHA, PINCKNEY, KIDD, RAFAEL PERALTA possibility to launch helo ASAP”. :28 “If it splashes you get a bearing and range.”:30 “Yes sir.” :32 “… keep going bro [inaudible]”:33 [inaudible] :36 “… it’s windy as f**k out there.” :42 “… got a lotta white water out there. Six foot swells.” :43 “Whoa, it’s getting close.” :50 “We have, uh, 31 knots sustained wind topside, gust of 40 [knots].” :56 “Whoa, it splashed!” :57 “Splashed!” :58 “Mark bearing and range.”

In a forthcoming interview with Bill Whitaker for 60 Minutesairing Sunday, Former Navy Lieutenant Ryan Graves said that members of his F/A-18 fighter squadron observed unidentified aerial phenomena in restricted airspace southeast of Virginia Beach almost daily between 2015 and 2017. Graves told Whitaker that he and other Navy pilots had begun to take the presence of the objects for granted on account of their frequent appearances.
Graves told 60 Minutes that he believes the objects are a threat to the security of the United States.
“I am worried, frankly,”
Graves said to Whitaker stating that if tactical aircraft from adversary nations were seen in the same controlled airspace it “would be a massive issue.”
“We’re happy to just ignore the fact that these are out there,” Graves said on account of the fact that the unidentified objects he and other members of his squadron observed don’t resemble any known threatening adversarial technologies.
Researcher Joe Foster tells There is one sighting that took place back in 1970 supposedly involving a nuclear powered aircraft carrier that had a close encounter with a large UFO/UAP that hovered over its flight deck, shutting down all power to the ship. One radioman who was on duty defied orders to stay inside during the event, venturing out to a place where he could observe the craft. After power returned to the ship, the ship returned (I believe to Norfolk, VA) and before arriving the ships skipper got on the closed circuit TV and debriefed the entire several thousand member crew thus conforming the required process. During this time the crew was instructed to not discuss this event at all and that it was in fact classified. Obviously, one crewman (out of several thousand onboard) defied that edict and released his eyewitness information to the general public. Technically, he was in violation of the classification and he could I suppose have been brought up on charges and punished accordingly, but apparently, he was not.
Citizen Hearing on Disclosure
The Citizen Hearing on Disclosure held at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. in 2013 was both unusual and powerful. The same people should speak before Congress if the truth would be known. It was unusual because the testimony focused on the history of events and evidence pointing toward an extraterrestrial (non-human) intelligence engaging the human race now and in the past. It was powerful because of the transformative impact the testimony had on the sitting committee of six former members of Congress, all of whom held skepticism on the subject matter.
Witnesses included Apollo 14 Astronaut Dr. Edgar Mitchell, former Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister of Canada Paul Hellyer, and many former members of the U. S. military such as me who held high security clearances. More information is available at: www.citizenhearing.org

Former US Senator Mike Gravel (Democrat Alaska) for twelve years pointed out during the Citizens Hearing on Disclosure that many former military officers, like retired Air Force Captain Robert Salas, have seen UFOs and observed them disabling nuclear weapons. The Soviet Union also reports disabling of their ICBMs and attacks on key installations by UFOs. The aliens have done everything within their power to encourage the destruction of nuclear weapons.

I had a pleasant conversation with Congresswoman Carolyn Kilpatrick who told me she was very moved by the testimony of pilots as well as from the other witnesses during the week. She said,
“I’ve heard some of the most intelligent, scientific and universal knowledge on the topic that I didn’t know I was going to witness. Yesterday, we heard from 12 different countries who have hundreds of years of scientific intelligent information on this subject. “It behooves us, as human beings, in what is known as the greatest country in the world, to participate in that discussion. To not act like something exists and then to further act like it’s a joke, we do a disservice to our ancestors, to God and to the people of the world. “I want the world and the universe to continue. And if there is something out there — and I’m not a scientist — there’s a whole lot we don’t know. I think it’s ignorant of any people not to seek out what we need to know to continue the universe. “I was convinced before this morning’s panel that there probably is something out there, and I’m willing to work the rest of my life to see that, if it is, how we can enhance the universe to see that we all have a better quality of life.”

I personally provided Testimony on the Pilot’s Panel with commercial airline pilot James Courant. Both of us had chased. Both of us had chased UFOs and know they are real seeing them visually and on radar. I explained my chasing a UFO over England that appeared as large as the Firth of Forth Bridge in Scotland that is a mile long. That our aircrew was debriefed by Prince Phillip for over an hour after dinner. Further that in England a half mile from Stonehenge where the UFO was hovering is a he megalithic structures 5000 years old called a Cursus with the exact outline of the UFO we chased.

The banks at the terminal ends enclose the Cursus. There are fifty in Europe of various lengths and traditionally it has been thought that the Cursus were used as processional avenues.
It’s possible ancient UFOs landed here and a six foot ditch was dug to indicate it was safe to land here. Additionally the burial mounds next to the Cursus contain the skeletons of humanoids with exceptionally large heads, that appear alien.

I spoke with all these panel members who had excellent presentations. Peter Davenport, director of the National UFO Reporting Center, who recounted eyewitness reports of UFOs hovering motionless and able to change direction more quickly than earthly technologies would seem to allow.
Peter Robbins, a researcher and lecturer, who told about the Rendlesham Forest Incident in the U.K., where U.S. Air Force personnel said they witnessed a UFO.
Gary Heseltine, a former U.K. police detective, who has collected sightings from police officers stated, “I now have over 425 cases involving over 940 British police officers,” Heseltine told the panel. “Over 70 percent of these cases are multiple-witness-officer cases.”
Linda Moulton Howe, a researcher and filmmaker who studies livestock mutilation, brought slides of horses and cattle that had been stripped of flesh and their organs removed surgically, and were left on soft patches of earth without any surrounding tracks. McKinnon said he was able to access the US’ Space Command network, where he found evidence of an extra terrestrial mission. “I found a list of officers’ names,” he claims, “under the heading ‘Non-Terrestrial Officers’… What I think it means is not earth-based. I found a list of ‘fleet-to-fleet transfers’ and a list of ship names. I looked them up. They weren’t U.S. Navy ships. What I saw made me believe they have some kind of spaceship, off-planet.”
The hacker claimed there were hackers from Denmark, Italy, China, Germany, Turkey, Thailand… every night for the entire five to seven years I was doing this. The Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI), also known as Star Wars, was a program first initiated on March 23, 1983 under President Ronald Reagan. According to My friend William Tomkins he designed the space ships in the 1970s and they flew in the 1980s. Solar Warden spaceships were already in orbit when President Reagan announced his intent to build the Star Wars as a sophisticated anti-ballistic missile system in order to prevent missile attacks from the Soviet Union with a secondary mission against UFOs if needed. Lunch was with 5 top space scientists. It was fascinating. Space truly is the last frontier and some of the developments there in astronomy etc. are like science fiction except they are real. I learned that our shuttle capacity is such we could orbit 300 people.
Later in my office one of the guests Dr. Edward Teller reported on where we are on our Defense research for a way to halt Nuclear missiles. The bad news is that our Congressional advocates of lower defense spending are cutting our research funds at a critical moment that will be very hurtful to the program.

Reagan’s comment was revealing since the Space Shuttle held a maximum of eight people and only five were built for space flight. Five times eight is forty, suggesting 260 others could be in space. Reagan was revealing the existence of a highly classified space program that could accommodate hundreds of astronauts in orbit? By the end of SDI, the primary focus of the weapons design group was focused on “land based kinetic energy weapons.” These weapons were essentially guided missile projectiles. At the end of the Strategic Defense Initiative, thirty billion dollars had been invested in the program.
The original Star Wars System as changed according to prime contractor TRW: Working in pairs for stereoscopic viewing, the SMTS is the low earth satellite orbit component of the Space-Based Infrared System (SBIRS shown here). Its unique capability to track missiles throughout their trajectory allows the system to effectively cue missile defense systems with accurate targeting data.
The satellites developed precise location, velocity and acceleration data on the enemy vehicles. The planned interceptors can engage threats at ranges beyond the capabilities of their associated radars. Using data generated by SMTS, these interceptors can use that excess capability to negate attacking missiles far from friendly forces and population centers. This shoot-look-shoot option reduces interceptor inventory requirements. Early intercepts made possible by SMTS extend the boundaries of the defended area some three to five times.
SMTS can precisely cue ground radars; allowing them to limit operations until a hostile missile is within their range. This reduces the threat from homing anti-radiation missiles — likely players on modern battlefields. The constellation provides global surveillance for ballistic missile launches

Spring Valley on August 19, 2020, at 4:13 am, I went to parking lot at work and noticed an unusual mist cloud vapor appear. I quickly grabbed my iPhone and took a picture of it 800 feet away. Suddenly a glowing disc came out of the glittery mist. There was a glow on top and underneath the 8 feet in diameter solid object. It hovered then decanted 700 feet and flew into the cloud mist.

Fairfield – on April 20 , 2021, a man was outside on his deck and zoomed in with his cell phone video camera and spotted a boomerang shaped object for 75 seconds. Then went inside to play the video footage.. He said that he regularly sees UFO’s.

Coeur d’Alene— at KCOE airport on 6 June 2019, reported by commercial pilot at about 3:45pm, we loaded passengers onto our premier 1 jet on a scheduled 135 charter flight. We taxied out of Resort Aviation Jet Center turning onto the runway, I myself the copilot called out “Paul do you see that down the end of the runway?” He responded “yes”. We both look down the end of the runway and see a spherical looking craft just slightly smaller than a helicopter stationary floating 75 feet in the air.. After 10 seconds of observing I ask the captain “Should I continue the takeoff”? He replied “Yes let’s go”. Upon takeoff, we crossed end of runway I looked down and it was gone.

White Hall – May 27, 2021 – Phone report): A man woke to go to the bathroom and looked out the window and noticed a bright orange object with 6 or 7 lights to the northeast. The man became quite frightened and said: “Don’t hurt me.” At that point the cigar shaped object rose but appeared saucer shaped when it rose. Please call me I have pictures as proof. You can see my truck tracks were I drove into field to take the picture. What that thing did was lay wheat all over the same way without breaking a stem.
White Hall– May 27, 2021 – you can see the circle in the wheat. The wheat is all bent over where it took off and vanished. Also my dog was paralyzed, has dry cough and has no energy. The object was all lit up like a glowing light. I have attached a sketch. . I have been so freaked out and my hair stood up.

Glide– on May 23 2021, I felt such a strong attraction to going hiking that I left work early to get out before the sun set. On the way back from the hike I pulled my car over and aimed into the sun and took a few pictures. I was scrolling through the pictures that looked a lot like lens flare. In a few frames the orb is obstructed by the trees. Three minutes later the orb shows up in panoramic type pictures.

Auburn, Mt. Rainier, — on May 26, 2021, I spotted three dark stationery objects in the foreground of a Mt. Rainier about 75 miles from my location. I was stopped at a traffic light and grabbed my phone to get a quick photo.

The only thing I can come up with for an explanation is a super mighty drone of some sort, but as it seems to have been very high up (at least as high as the clouds but unlikely. Brighton – on May 30, 2021, sent this email to my local news paper “The Argus” today and was wondering if anyone else has contacted you about the huge fleet of UFO’s hovering over the sea yesterday around 5 PM. On June 4, five intelligence sources familiar with the contents of the yet to be released June UAP report prepared for the US Senate Intelligence Committee revealed some of its key findings to major news sites including CNN and New York Times.
The sources said that there was no consensus over the origins of the UFOs in terms of extraterrestrial, Chinese or Russian aerospace technologies, but that their threat to national security made them an important priority for the intelligence community.

While working on our catamaran, near the East coast of the US on May 16, 2021, we noticed a strange illuminated ‘spherical’ object hovering over us. I recorded the object with my Galaxy S21 phone taking video and pictures. The footage does not show the detail as well as in person, but you may be able to see there is a dark circle or spot in the center of the object. It seemed to rise above and drop below the clouds in relatively the same spot for hours. We have never seen a UFO before, so I checked online and found similar UFO videos like “Radar confirms UFO swarm around Navy warship ” and ” New Video Raises More UFO Questions Ahead of Pentagon Report Release ” mentioning an increase in ” Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon” sightings and encounters and believe the Navy footage is very similar to the object we witnessed and recorded.
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — SpaceX is gearing up to launch its 22nd cargo mission to the International Space Station (ISS) this week, and tucked inside the Dragon cargo capsule will be some interesting organisms.
Bobtail squid and tardigrades, also known as water bears, will be traveling to the orbital outpost to help researchers answer some key questions about spaceflight.
Their ride: a shiny new Falcon 9 rocket, dubbed B1067. If all goes as planned, SpaceX's CRS-2 mission — the 22nd Dragon cargo launch under its Commercial Resupply Service contract with NASA — will blast off from Pad 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Thursday (June 3) at 1:29 p.m. EDT (1729 GMT).

Baby bobtail squid (Euprymna scolopes) will be among the various research experiments and cargo scheduled to ship to the ISS. A relative of the cuttlefish, these tiny cephalopods are an interesting organism as they glow in the dark. That's thanks to a specialized organ in their ink sac that lights up at night.

Researchers are hopeful that the squids could help shed some light on how microbes in animals react to spaceflight. To that end, NASA is sending newly hatched squid paralarvae (babies) to space to study how the relationship between the squid and a group of symbiotic microbes behaves in microgravity, as part of a research investigation called UMAMI (short for "Understanding of Microgravity on Animal-Microbe Interactions").
Microbes play a significant role in the normal development of animal tissues and in maintaining human health.
"Animals, including humans, rely on our microbes to maintain a healthy digestive and immune system," UMAMI principal investigator Jamie Foster said in a statement. "We do not fully understand how spaceflight alters these beneficial interactions. The UMAMI experiment uses a glow-in-the-dark bobtail squid to address these important issues in animal health."
The experiment is composed of two Fluid Processing Cassettes (FPC) — made by Techshot, an aerospace company out of Indiana that helps facilitate research investigations on the ISS — that will house an experimental group and a control group.

A cohort of squid paralarvae will be inoculated with filtered seawater containing a symbiotic microbe called V. fischeri, then incubated for 12 hours. The other cassette will contain squid along with filtered seawater that has not been treated with the microbes.
Once the experiment has run its course, the paralarvae will be euthanized and the samples stored for return to Earth. Scientists are hopeful that the investigation could lead to new ways to preserve astronaut health on long-duration space missions.
It could also lead to a better understanding of the complex interactions between animals and beneficial microbes, and the discovery of new pathways that microbes use to communicate with animal tissues.

Tardigrades, aka water bears, can live in the most extreme environments, making them a fascinating organism to study. Researchers have been able to sequence the tardigrade genome (Hypsibius exemplaris) and have gone one step further, by developing methods of determining how environmental conditions affect gene expression in tardigrades.
As part of an investigation called Cell Science-04, scientists hope to identify which genes are involved in the adaptation and survival of tardigrades in high-stress environments, like microgravity.
"Spaceflight can be a really challenging environment for organisms, including humans, who have evolved to the conditions on Earth," principal investigator Thomas Boothby said in a statement "One of the things we are really keen to do is understand how tardigrades are surviving and reproducing in these environments and whether we can learn anything about the tricks that they are using and adapt them to safeguard astronauts."
The experiment will run for two months on station and the tardigrades will ship to the ISS frozen, and be subsequently thawed after the experiment is activated. A reverse genetic approach was developed for this investigation, which will use RNA interference to directly investigate the role a specific gene plays in tolerating the environment.
Identifying the mechanisms used by tardigrades to protect themselves from environmental stresses could help researchers better protect astronauts.

With the looming release of a national intelligence report detailing U.S. military encounters with “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena” or “UAP,” the People’s Republic of China has announced there has been an increase of mysterious and unexplained aircraft in Chinese airspace, with the PLA establishing its own UFO task force to investigate sightings.
Chinese military has its own UFO task force… and it’s been ‘overwhelmed’ by surge in sighting reports
The South China Morning Post reports Chinese analysts “have been overwhelmed in recent years by rapidly mounting sighting reports from a wide range of military and civilian sources” by what the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) are calling “unidentified air conditions.”
The PLA’s use of the term “unidentified air conditions” mirrors the Department of Defense’s preferred parlance of “unidentified aerial phenomena,” seemingly a concerted effort to avoid the more stigmatized term “unidentified flying objects,” or UFOs.
“The frequent occurrence of unidentified air conditions in recent years … brings severe challenges to air defence security of our country,” said Chen Li of the PLA’s Air Force Early Warning Academy, in a 2019 report cited by SCMP.
The U.S. Director of National Intelligence is set to release a report detailing military encounters with UAP in the coming weeks. According to the New York Times, the report is expected to say that “the vast majority of more than 120 incidents over the past two decades did not originate from any American military or other advanced U.S. government technology.”
Citing unnamed intelligence officials, the Times also reports that some sightings could be attributed to advanced Chinese or Russian military platforms. However, the Pentagon appears to also be baffled by a number of not-easily explainable incidents. In some cases, objects are said to demonstrate extreme acceleration, changes in direction, and the ability to operate underwater, which do not comport with any known technologies.
Heading up the current efforts to examine these UAP is the Pentagon’s “UAP Task Force,” which was officially announced in mid-August of 2020.
Recent reports by Chinese press say the PLA equally has its own UFO task force dedicated to investigating mysterious airborne encounters over Chinese airspace. According to SCMP, China’s “unidentified air conditions” task force has been turning to Artificial Intelligence to help get to the bottom of recent UFO sightings.
“One advantage of AI is that it can ‘think outside the box’ – checking crumbs of information scattered across many datasets created at different times and locations, and drawing links unseen by human eyes – to help determine whether sightings were caused by a hostile country, amateur aviation enthusiasts, nature, or ‘other reasons,’” Li told SCMP.
China has had its fair share of reported UFO sightings. According to Chinese state media, in 2010, Hangzhou’s Xiaoshan airport was shut down, and flights were diverted, due to an object hovering above the runway. Airport officials told reporters that the object was seen around 8:00 PM local time.
“We’ve received orders to shut down the airport until the sky is cleared,” a representative for the airport said. The object eventually disappeared and the airport resumed operations around 10:00 PM. Locals reported seeing a round glowing object that resembled a comet. Further information regarding this case is unavailable.
SCMP reports the PLA’s UFO task force has a multi-tier reporting system to handle unknown aerial sightings.
The first tier reportedly consists of military radar stations, air force pilots, police stations, weather stations, and Chinese Academy of Sciences observatories, gathering as much data as possible on UFO or UAP events. This raw data is said to then be processed by the PLA’s regional military commands to conduct a preliminary analysis, before transferring data on to a national database.
From there, PLA headquarters assigns a “threat index” to sightings based on the observed behaviours, frequencies, aerodynamic design, radioactivity, possible make and materials, along with any pertinent information.
China’s “threat indexing” is said to be aided by AI programs to help examine patterns that may not be easily identifiable to researchers and determine an object’s purpose.
Chinese researchers say that some unusual and unexplained sightings near the South China Sea and “other sensitive waters near China” could be the results of increased U.S. military activities.
While China may be interested in the UFO phenomenon, neighboring Japan has also become more involved in tracking unknown aerial objects in the Pacific. Last September, Japanese Defense Minister Taro Kono instructed Japanese military personnel on what to do if they spot UFOs that could potentially pose a threat to national security.
Meeting with then U.S. Secretary of Defense Mark Esper in Guam, the two leaders agreed that Japan would be a strong ally in monitoring the South Pacific for incursions by unknown aerial objects. Earlier that year, in April, Japan began changing its guidelines surrounding how its military personnel would report sightings of unidentified objects.
Kono personally admitted that he did not believe that these objects were of otherworldly origin, and it has led to speculation that China itself may be a perpetrator of several of these UAP-related incidents.
With many officials and members of the public in the United States and Japan believing that advanced Chinese drones are swarming around American military targets, it is humorous that China points the finger at U.S. technology as being the cause of their own UFO sighting events. No one seems to be saying that it’s aliens.

There is perhaps no name more associated with UFO disclosure in 2021 than Luis Elizondo, the former head of the Pentagon’s secret Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) and current whistleblower who is anxiously awaiting the National Intelligence report on what the government knows about “unidentified aerial phenomena.” Unfortunately, Elizondo already knows enough to be concerned that the report will be watered down and not contain the “truth.” If that’s the case, he has recently announced he wants to become the second-most-well-known UFO politician besides former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (sorry Marco Rubio) and run for office himself to do what Reid and others couldn’t – release the full and unredacted X-Files.
Luis Elizondo is a UFO whistleblower who claimed to have headed up a secret UFO study inside the Pentagon.
“If the Pentagon’s Public Affairs officers, and those who give them orders, continue to obfuscate and mislead the American people about the reality of UAP [Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, a k a UFOs] and what our government knows about them, I may have no choice but to put my boots back on and run for Congress. If that’s what it takes to get the truth out, that’s what I’ll do.”

It wouldn’t be unusual for Luis Elizondo to put his boots on since he’s rarely seen without them, but the announcement that he would run for Congress, which he made in an interview with The Black Vault, is a first. Elizondo is upset that the emails and attachments – schedules, calendars, transcripts, etc. – from his time at the Pentagon were confirmed to have been destroyed. That revelation may have turned Elizondo into an angry political Incredible Hulk, as he warns in the interview.
“If I get a seat [in Congress], I will make sure [there is] total transparency on everything, not just UAPs, but all the other crap that I know that goes on behind these closed doors. I can assure you that there are elements in the Pentagon right now that do not want a cat like me sitting in Congress.”
If the report is as weak as he expects it to be, Elizondo describes it as an “intelligence failure” as major as 9/11. He bases this assessment partly on the fact that the 9/11 Commission Report took three years, while the UFO report was completed in 180 days. That means it won’t contain what Elizondo has been saying to anyone who will listen — that “someone, from somewhere, [is] displaying beyond next-generation technology … in our controlled airspace.” In was sounds like a campaign speech, he tells The Black Vault that if he were elected, he would force Congress and the Pentagon to disclose:
“Everything that can be safely disclosed without harming our national security. Our tax dollars have paid for answers. It’s about time the American people start to get them.”

Would you vote for Luis Elizondo? Does he have a chance of winning? Is the presence of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena in our airspace really the biggest intelligence failure since 9/11? Is a promise of disclosure – both of UAPs and other secrets — enough to get him elected?
When it comes to the present fascination for UFOs – whether on the part of the public or the media – there are two words that surface on most occasions. Those words are “the government.” That the government doesn’t think the UFOs seen on CNN, 60 Minutes and countless other media outlets are extraterrestrial. But, the government can’t be sure. That the government is concerned about Russian and Chinese technology. That the government is no more in the picture than we are. And so on and so on. Here’s the important part of all this, though: just because we have various spokespeople in government keeping us up to date on what’s going on right now, doesn’t mean the government knows everything. That may sound odd, but it’s true. For example, as UFO sightings reached epidemic proportions across the USA in the summer of 1947, the military swung into action, and various studies and operations were formulated that ultimately unified into an official, investigative operation known as Project Sign. That project would, in 1948, make way for Project Grudge; and, finally, Project Blue Book, which continued until 1969. Collectively, the three projects concluded that no UFO sighting investigated officially had ever had a bearing on national security, and there was no evidence to indicate that any UFO sightings represented alien visitations.
It’s a little known fact that when the Air Force began its UFO investigations in the late 1940s, it quietly farmed out some of the work to companies that had preexisting, working relationships with the military. As the now-declassified files of Project Grudge show, one program in particular was quietly handed over to the Weather Bureau. The Air Force wanted the bureau’s staff to find out all that it could on a mysterious, rare, weather-based phenomenon. It is known as ball lightning. As for what, exactly, ball lightning is, there’s this from the EarthSky website: “The orbs are typically about the size of a grapefruit, moving slowly over the ground. They have been seen during electrical storms, hence the early theories that they were simply a different form of lightning. They usually disappear after 10 seconds, quietly, but sometimes a bang sound can be heard. They have even been observed to pass through closed windows!” Most people in the program knew nothing of the ball lighting off-shoot. And they were government. That’s an important issue.
If you bring up the matter of ball lightning with most UFO researchers, they will likely roll their eyes and dismiss the whole thing with a swift wave of a hand or two. The possibility that some UFO sightings might actually be the result of encounters with nothing weirder than ball lightning causes Flying Saucer seekers to fume, rage and stomp around. And blood-pressure quickly reaches dangerous levels. Believe me, I’ve seen it all. And it’s not a pretty sight. I remember seeing Stan Friedman once getting all bent out of shape when the words “ball” and “lightning” popped up together. Even in the UFO field, it’s not well known that the U.S. military tried to weaponize ball lightning. The story can be found in the pages of Survey of Kugelblitz Theories for Electromagnetic Incendiaries. It was the brainchild of W.B. Lyttle and C.E. Wilson. At the time, they were in the employ of Melpar, Inc., which is described as “an American government contractor in the 20th century Cold War period. At a time when most employment in Washington, D.C. was directly by the U.S. federal government, Melpar became an early private sector contracting company training a high technology workforce in the area.”
Lyttle and Wilson were assigned to the Edgewood Arsenal, and to what was intriguingly titled as a “New Concepts Division / Special Projects” operation. At the beginning of their 92-pages-long report, the two wrote: “The purpose of this study was to review the theory and experimental data on ball lightning, to compare the existing theory and experimental data to determine whether ball lightning is a high or low energy phenomenon, and if it is a high energy phenomenon define an effective theoretical and experimental program to develop a potential incendiary weapon.” It’s a fact that the work done by Lyttle and Wilson – which had an undeniable UFO tinge attached to it – could have provoked sightings of what witnesses might have assumed were UFOs. Notably, in the 1960s, the work of Lyttle and Wilson was carefully kept away from the Project Blue Book program, even though both Blue Book and the Lyttle and Wilson team were government.
Also on the matter of the government and UFOs – and what it knows and what it doesn’t know – there’s the matter of the Collins Elite. That’s the nickname of an organization (with a real, still-classified title that remains hidden) funded by certain elements of the U.S. government to investigate the UFO phenomenon from a demonic and satanic perspective. What the Hell?! I first got onto the story back in 2007 and exposed it in 2010, in my Final Events book. For years, people scoffed at the idea there could be a group, deep within government, studying the possibility that the alien Greys of Ufology are the minions of Satan. Personally, I don’t think the UFO phenomenon is demonic, but I decided to write the book when I realized that such a group really did exist. In other words, the story was a fascinating one to share with people interested in UFOs. But, here’s the most relevant part of the whole thing: almost everyone within the government knew next to nothing about the Collins Elite. Most of them still don’t know of it. Or, more accurately, they have been denied access to it. Just a few years ago Senator Harry Reid revealed (to a small degree) the existence of the group and confirmed that its work revolved around the “aliens are really demons” angle. The group still remains to be fully exposed. And, even if you work for the U.S. government, you probably haven’t got clearance to know the lowdown of the Collins Elite.
As the material above shows, “the government” doesn’t know everything. Agency 1 doesn’t always share its data with Agency 2. And, that may be the case right now: while most people in government are baffled by the same footage that we’ve all been seeing recently, there could very well be other agencies (or, far more likely, small, well-hidden think-tanks like the Collins Elite) that know exactly what is going on.
The US government has provided insiders an advance look at their “bombshell” report on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP).
Here is my summation of their findings:
There’s stuff happening in the skies around military operations and it’s not us, but it could be the Chinese or Russians. We don’t think it’s aliens, but honestly we have no evidence one way or another. We just have a bunch of unexplained sightings, some by very experienced military pilots, and confirmation with high tech military instrumentation. We have no idea what it means.
Thanks. Very helpful. We do appreciate that fact that you are owning up to your ignorance. That’s a level of honesty we don’t usually get from the military.
So, where do we go from here? Clearly, the Pentagon will need billions of dollars to study this issue. General Dynamics salespeople are probably reading every UFO book they can get their hands on, to prepare the project bids. That work will also be farmed out to the other usual suspects- Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon. The entire investigation will be kept top secret. It will take years of work by thousands of consultants and we will end up having to beg for public updates.
Meanwhile, even outside of the military industrial complex folks are battling for position. Understandably, the scientists who have devoted their careers to the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) are not thrilled by the attention UAP have been receiving. SETI scientists have good reason to be concerned. If we become obsessed with UAP investigations, perhaps we won’t care anymore about SETI research? I agree that would be stupid. SETI research is important and it should continue to grow. But to ignore the UAP situation seems like a bad idea. The folks who say they believe UAP are natural or man-made don’t provide any evidence. And quite frankly, that’s just as dumb as the folks who claim UAP must be alien visitation, without any evidence.
I’ll be honest- I didn’t give a crap about UAP or UFOs until the New York Times articles on the subject came out in 2017. Luis Elizondo and his TV show, Unidentified, also grabbed my attention. Those reports contained the first evidence of UFO activity that seemed credible. Now I’m caught up in it like everyone else.
I have a simple suggestion for how to proceed: support science. We’ve been developing our scientific chops for hundreds of years now. Let’s keep on. We need a scientific study of UAP carried out by civilian scientists. Hell, NASA is even considering the subject. Bill Nelson recently spoke out about the subject and NASA has generously suggested that scientists working on NASA projects could consider UAP research. Not a very bold statement, but a nice first step. You have to remember- NASA is scared to death that politicians will turn their research into political fodder. Given their past experiences and our current political nightmare, that’s a realistic concern.
But we can’t turn our attention away from the amazing scientific work that is being conducted currently. Astrophysicists and astronomers are discovering new things about our universe in almost daily revelations. The discovery and confirmation of hundreds of exoplanets and an actual image of a black hole are just two of the revelations. We live in extraordinary times and that is due to the work of thousands and thousands of scientists, each working together, and arguing with each other, in pursuit of knowledge. Particle physics research continues to find new ways to baffle us. They are trying to answer mysteries such as the nature of dark matter and the inner workings of quantum mechanics.
We need to support those scientists. We need to give them adequate funding and we need to better educate ourselves so we can share in their excitement when the next finding comes out. We also need to be educated enough to understand that findings may contradict each other. Some research may have weaknesses, leading to a debate. That debate is not a failure of science- it is science in action.
We need to better support SETI research. It is a partner in our human space exploration. You may say- why study far off star systems when the aliens may be here on Earth? For the sake of argument, let’s say alien technology is here on Earth – doesn’t that mean we need to know even more about where it came from and how aliens are communicating? Even if the aliens sit down and hold a news conference at the United Nations, we are going to want to have a better look at the universe around us and collect our own data.
I know we have many serious challenges here on Earth. Climate change, nuclear proliferation, cybercrime, and biological hazards threaten to undo our human civilization. We need to pour resources into those issues – serious monetary, scientific, and industrial resources. But we also need to continue the exploration of the universe. We need to know how the material world is organized and what it encompasses.
So, where do we go from here? Support science. Support open inquiry. Continue to debunk conspiracy theories and falsehoods. Have an honest and open conversation about what we find. Don’t allow politicians and other leaders to turn these inquiries into political weapons. They will do that anyway, but we can call them out when they do, and punish them for such cheap maneuvers.
Support science. Support the incredible NASA missions underway as we speak. Humans have multiple vehicles driving around Mars, conducting research, as we speak. That’s pretty damn cool. And just wait until the James Webb space telescope is operational. These are just a few of things it will be investigating. Support scientists and keep an open mind. There is so much we don’t know. Let’s just add UAP to the list and keep on with the good work.

Jeff Bezos gaat in juli zelf mee de ruimte in op eerste passagiersruimtevlucht van zijn bedrijf Blue Origin
Jeff Bezos, de rijkste mens op aarde, gaat volgende maand de ruimte in. De oprichter van Amazon heeft ook een eigen commercieel ruimtevaartbedrijf, Blue Origin, dat op 20 juli voor het eerst toeristen naar de ruimte wil brengen. En Bezos heeft maandag bekendgemaakt dat hij en zijn broer Mark dan meegaan aan boord.
Het ruimtevaartuig waarmee de toeristen naar de ruimte zullen worden gebracht, heet New Shepard. De draagraket zal verticaal opstijgen en op 75 km hoogte de bijhorende capsule uitzetten. Die klimt vervolgens naar een hoogte van ruim 100 kilometer. Daar zijn de passagiers enkele minuten gewichtloos en zien ze de kromming van de aarde. Daarna zakt het vaartuig terug de dampkring in om weer op aarde te landen. De capsule gaat niet hoog en niet snel genoeg om in een baan rond de aarde te komen.
Blue Origin had de plannen voor de eerste vlucht in mei naar buiten gebracht. Het was toen echter nog niet geweten dat Jeff Bezos zélf ook mee zou gaan. Hij maakte het nieuws vandaag bekend op Instagram. “Al sinds ik vijf jaar oud was, droom ik ervan om naar de ruimte te reizen”, schrijft Bezos bij een video waarin hij en zijn broer aan het woord komen. “Op 20 juli ga ik die reis maken met mijn broer. Het grootste avontuur, met mijn beste vriend.”
Een van de plekken aan boord wordt overigens geveild. Tot nu toe hebben bijna 6.000 mensen uit 143 landen een bod uitgebracht. Volgens Blue Origin staat het hoogste bod inmiddels op ongeveer 2,8 miljoen dollar, omgerekend 2,3 miljoen euro. De veiling loopt nog tot 12 juni.
Concurrentie
Concurrent SpaceX van zakenman Elon Musk brengt op dit moment al professionele astronauten naar het ruimtestation ISS. Later dit jaar wil hij een paar burgers een kans geven om naar de ruimte te gaan. In 2023 wil Musk ook een schatrijke Japanse zakenman een rondje rond de maan laten vliegen.

De Europese ruimtevaartorganisatie ESA laat uitzoeken of het mogelijk is om buiten de aarde vlees te kweken, zodat ontdekkingsreizigers op andere hemellichamen, zoals de maan en Mars, zelf hun eigen voedsel kunnen maken.
Als dat lukt, hoeven er veel minder voorraden vanaf de aarde te worden ingevlogen. Astronautenvoedsel wordt over een paar jaar dus misschien iets meer haute cuisine.
Bij kweekvlees wordt een cel van een dier gebruikt om uit te groeien tot een lap vlees, zonder dat daar een heel dier voor hoeft te worden gefokt, gevoed en geslacht. Koeien kunnen bijvoorbeeld op Mars nergens grazen en bovendien is niet bekend hoe een koe zich voelt bij gewichtloosheid.
"Het fokken van grote dieren voor voedsel in de ruimte is ondenkbaar", aldus de ESA. Volgens de organisatie is een halve gram spierweefsel van een koe genoeg om ongeveer 80.000 hamburgers te maken.
Aarde
Ook op aarde kunnen de ontwikkelingen helpen om genoeg voedsel te produceren voor de groeiende wereldbevolking. De wereld telt nu bijna 8 miljard bewoners. De verwachting is dat er tegen het einde van de eeuw bijna 11 miljard mensen op aarde zijn.
Als er genoeg dieren moeten worden gefokt om al die monden te voeden, leidt dat tot extra waterverbruik, vervuiling en ontbossing, maar het vergroot ook de kans op nieuwe virusuitbraken en pandemieën, aldus de ESA.

The witnesses states the following"While working on our catamaran, near the East coast of the US on May 16, 2021, we noticed a strange illuminated 'spherical' object hovering over us. I recorded the object with my Galaxy S21 phone taking video and pictures. The footage does not show the detail as well as in person, but you may be able to see there is a dark circle or spot in the center of the object. It seemed to rise above and drop below the clouds in relatively the same spot for hours. We have never seen a UFO before."

As a couple were recording a boating video for their Youtube channel, they noticed a glowing sphere passing above them. The glowing sphere is similar to the UFOs seen in both New York and in Colorado in the past. The object is easily seen against the bright blue sky and seems to move slowly in front of the clouds. Yes I said in front of...I watched the video in slow motion and came to the conclusion that the object is below the clouds, not behind them. This is 100% proof that aliens exist and sometimes...they are flying over us for hours without anyone even noticing them.

The eyewitness was driving along when he noticed a strange glowing disk shape in the sky during sunset. As I have said before, if you want to see a real UFO, the watch a few sunsets. Here what we are seeing is a cloaked UFO (transparent) that is reflecting the light from the sun...and it is pushing a whole in the cloud ceiling. Its a well known fact that UFOs do punch holes in clouds. The O'Hare airport UFO incident back in 2006 was proof of that. That report made by MUFON was almost 100 pages long and detailed many different eyewitnesses who saw the UFO and then watched it shoot through the cloud ceiling...leaving behind a disk shaped hole for 15 minutes after it shot through. So...yes...UFOs make holes in clouds, but can also create clouds around themselves.
I love to search for ancient artifacts both in the deserts of Idaho, Nevada and Arizona as well as using my computer to search NASA archives of planets and moons. Today I am searching the moon, not for Indian artifacts like in Idaho where I found half a dozen obsidian arrow heads and donated them to the ISU museum where they told me they were over 800 years old, but instead I am looking at the full map of the dark side of the moon.
I found an interesting structure which does conform to a lot of what us humans identify as structures. Its a large rectangle object, with numerous right angles to it. It also has three long arms on one side, each end in a bulb like shape. This is an alien space ship that has landed inside the small crater. Most likely its been abandoned for a newer model and left there so that others could use it to take any needed parts for their own ships. Many such craft exist on the moon.
When humanity gets to the moon, alien technology will become common place. Its all over the moon, just laying around, abandoned. Imagine in 24 hours or retrieving such a craft and flying it back to earth...it would take humanity thousands of years into the technological future instantly, but only if a government doesn't label it a national security risk and keep it secret and use it for a military weapon...which...lets face it...will probably happen first.
