WASHINGTON — From the lovable, candy-munching E.T. to the deadly Xenomorphs from the "Alien" movies, science-fiction stories are bursting with all kinds of alien encounters. But in reality, we've yet to achieve contact — though not for lack of trying.

Plenty of scientists are looking for signs of extraterrestrial life — intelligent or not — using a variety of methods, Seth Shostak, senior astronomer at the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) Institute, told an audience here on June 18 during a talk at Future Con, a festival that highlights the intersection between science, technology and science fiction.

But the more our own technology moves forward and the more humans explore the rapidly evolving concept of synthetic intelligence (smart machines), the more experts suspect that intelligent extraterrestrial life could be advanced in ways that would stymie current efforts to find them, Shostak said. In an eye-opening interview on “60 Minutes” Sunday night, aerospace mogul and entrepreneur Robert Bigelow said he was ‘absolutely convinced’ there were alien visitors to Earth.

Most of the segment focused on how NASA and the Las Vegas-based Bigelow Aerospace are in a partnership to develop an expandable craft for humans to use in space. Bigelow’s far-reaching vision puts him right in the middle of a new privatization of space, a race that includes billionaires Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.

In the following video, Bigelow describes a typical expandable system to be used on future space flights.

However, during the “60 Minutes” interview with correspondent Lara Logan, the conversation shifted to Bigelow’s reported obsession with UFOs and aliens.

Logan: “Do you believe in aliens?”

Bigelow: “I’m absolutely convinced. That’s all there is to it.”

Logan: “Do you also believe that UFOs have come to Earth?”

Bigelow: “There has been and is an existing presence, an ET presence. And I spent millions and millions and millions ― I probably spent more as an individual than anybody else in the United States has ever spent on this subject.”

Logan: “Is it risky for you to say in public that you believe in UFOs and aliens?”

Bigelow: “I don’t give a damn. I don’t care.”

Logan: “You don’t worry that some people will say, ‘Did you hear that guy, he sounds like he’s crazy’?”

Bigelow: “I don’t care. It’s not gonna make a difference. It’s not gonna change reality of what I know.”

Bigelow wouldn’t elaborate on what kind of results he had achieved from his well-funded UFO research. When asked if he thought future space missions would result in any encounters between humans and aliens, Bigelow said, “You don’t have to go anywhere. It’s just like right under people’s noses.”

While Bigelow declined to describe his personal UFO encounters, he offered more elaborate details about UFOs, extraterrestrials and the private space industry during an interview on the national radio program, “Coast to Coast AM.”

Stephen Hawking pleit voor een nieuwe missie naar de maan tegen 2020. De bekende fysicus pleit ook voor een vaste basis op de maan binnen dertig jaar en een bemande missie naar Mars binnen vijftien jaar. Dat zei hij tijdens een toespraak op het Starmus Festival in Trondheim, Noorwegen. Volgens Hawking is een verdere verkenning van de ruimte nodig om het voortbestaan van de mensheid te garanderen.

Hawking sprak gisteren via een videolink de toeschouwers toe op het Starmus Festival, een kunst- en wetenschapsfestival in het Noorse Trondheim. Zijn speech hield het midden tussen doemdenken en wetenschappelijk optimisme. Volgens de natuurkundige moeten we ons voorbereiden op een kosmische exodus binnen 200 tot 500 jaar.

"Mens moet aarde verlaten"

"De aarde wordt op zoveel verschillende manieren bedreigd dat ik moeilijk positief kan blijven," zei Hawking. Hij vermeldde daarbij onder andere een mogelijke inslag van asteroïden, hetgeen "gegarandeerd is volgens de wetten van de fysica en waarschijnlijkheid," het smelten van de poolkappen, de uitroeiing van verscheidene diersoorten en de uitputting van grondstoffen.

"We krijgen een gebrek aan ruimte, en de enige plaats waar we naartoe kunnen, zijn andere werelden. Het is tijd om andere zonnestelsels te verkennen," zei hij. "Ons verspreiden zou het wel eens het enige kunnen zijn dat ons van onszelf kan redden. Ik ben ervan overtuigd dat mensen de aarde moeten verlaten."

Gemeenschappelijk doel 

Maar ondanks het horrorbeeld dat hij schetste, bracht de 75-jarige kosmoloog van de universiteit van Cambridge ook een hoopvolle boodschap. "Ons verspreiden in de ruimte zal de toekomst van de mensheid compleet veranderen," aldus Hawking. "Ik hoop dat het concurrerende landen zal verenigen met één doel: het aangaan van deze gemeenschappelijke uitdaging." 

Hij pleit voor een menselijke kolonie op de maan binnen dertig jaar. We kunnen Mars bereiken "binnen vijftien jaar" zei hij. Enkele tientallen jaren later moet er dan een vaste basis op Mars volgen.

Jan Wörner, hoofd van het European Space Agency (ESA), wil een maanbasis bouwen ter vervanging van het ISS, dat midden jaren 2020 zal worden gesloten, en werkt met Rusland samen om op zoek te gaan naar een geschikte plek. Ook China wil een astronaut naar de maan sturen. NASA heeft momenteel geen plannen om terug te keren naar de maan, maar wil tegen de jaren 2030 wel een bemande missie naar Mars.

Global warming

Hawking beklemtoonde ook het belang van de aanpak van problemen op onze planeet. Hij hekelde daarom Trumps terugtrekking uit het Klimaatakkoord van Parijs. "Ik ontken het belang van de bestrijding van de klimaatverandering en global warming niet, in tegenstelling tot Donald Trump, die zopas misschien wel de ergste, meest verkeerde beslissing over klimaatverandering heeft genomen in de wereldgeschiedenis."

Globale aanpak

Reizen naar verafgelegen werelden "verheft de menselijkheid," argumenteerde Hawking. "Telkens wanneer we een grote sprong maken, zoals de maanlandingen, dan brengen we mensen en landen dichter bij elkaar en openen we de deuren voor nieuwe ontdekkingen en nieuwe technologieën." 

"De aarde verlaten vraagt een globale georganiseerde aanpak en iedereen zou zijn steentje moeten bijdragen. We moeten het enthousiasme van de vroege dagen van de ruimteverkenning in de jaren zestig doen heropleven."

Geen science fiction 

Volgens Hawking is de kolonisatie van andere planeten geen science fiction meer. Hij verwees daarbij onder andere naar planeet Proxima B in het Alpha Centauri-stelsel, amper 4,37 lichtjaren van ons verwijderd. De planeet ziet er veelbelovend uit, maar helaas is reizen tussen verschillende sterrenstelsels met de huidige technologie "bijzonder onpraktisch", merkte hij op. 

Als de mensheid wil blijven voortbestaan, moeten we onze grenzen verleggen, aldus Hawking. "Ik hoop op het beste. Ik moet wel. We hebben geen andere keuze."

One of the most gruesome, sinister, and completely intriguing of phenomena connected to the phenomenon of UFOs is that of the dark world of cattle mutilations. By some accounts, for some reason, it seems that whatever is behind these strange lights in the sky also has a liking for targeting various livestock for some impromptu surgery and mutilation, often ending up with carcasses that show a variety of strange features such as almost selectively missing organs, strangely precise cuts, a lack of deterioration, and no rotting stench pervading the area. This is all quite horrifying enough, but what if it was not a cow, horse, or some other beast of burden, but rather a human being? That would be sinister indeed, wouldn’t it? Well, there have indeed been such cases, where people have been found to vanish under mysterious circumstances only appear later showing all the hallmarks of cattle mutilations, sending them into the annals of unexplained mysteries.

Perhaps one of the most famous cases of an apparent case of mysterious, inexplicable human mutilation occurred in Brazil in 1988. At the the Guarapiranga Reservoir was found the body of a man that was in a very strange state indeed. Although it was determined that the person had been dead for several days, there was no smell when it should have been redolent with the stench of decay, no noticeable decomposition, and there was no sign that the body had been fed upon by scavengers or even insects. Upon his body were found to be numerous smooth round holes, and the man’s lips, eyes, tongue, and ears had been cut away with expert precision, not torn or ragged in any way. Other tissue and organs had been removed as well for reasons unknown, and there were other anomalies in addition to all of this. The coroner tasked with examining the body would later say of it:

Although the victim had been dead for 48 to 72 hours there was no sign of being eaten by animals or starting to rot, as would be expected. There was no smell. Bleeding from the wounds had been minimal. The lips and flesh from the face had been cut away. The eyes, ears, and tongue had been removed. Neat round holes, one to one and a half inches in diameter, had been made on the shoulders, arms, head, stomach, and anus and tissue and muscle had been extracted. The holes had not been made through which extensive digestive organs had been extracted. The scrotum, but not the penis had been removed, and all pubic hair had disappeared. The rectum had been cored out. Despite these devastating mutilations, there was no sign that the victim had been bound or had struggled in any way.

The mysterious body was photographed and the pictures shown to a Dr. Goes Rubens, who concurred that it was all very odd indeed, and seemed inexplicable by normal definitions. It was also pointed out by an associate of Rubens that the mutilations on display with the mysterious body had many of the same hallmarks of the more well-known cattle mutilations, such as a lack of decomposition, organs seemingly selectively removed, precision, almost surgical cuts, and anomalous holes bored into the corpse. It appears that the dead man was never identified and his strange death has from then on had many questions surrounding it. Who or what did this to him? Why was there no decomposition? Why were some organs missing and not others and why had they been removed so cleanly and precisely? Why had those holes been made in the body? Why hadn’t the victim struggled or shown signs of being detained? What happened to him and who was he? We will probably never know.

Perhaps even more bizarre still is the 1956 case of Air Force Sergeant Jonathan Lovette. In March of that year, Lovette and a Major William Cunningham, both of the Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico, ventured out into the desolate desert scrub to collect fallen debris from a recent missile test at the White Sands Missile Test Range, and at one point Lovette went off behind a dune. A few moments later, Cunningham reportedly heard Lovette scream out in terror, and he ran to investigate. What he saw next would cause him to scream as well.

According to Cunningham, after going over a ridge he was met with the sight of a large, silvery disk-shaped object hovering around 15 or 20 feet in the air, which had a long, snake-like object trailing from it. To his horror, he saw that this appendage was wrapped around the leg of Lovette and in the process of pulling him towards the strange craft. At this point, Cunningham would report that he had been somehow inexplicably paralyzed, wanting to take action but unable to move as he watched his friend get pulled and reeled into the object, after which it sped off at breathtakingly great speed. As soon as it was out of sight, Cunningham found himself released from whatever had kept him frozen there.

White Sands, New Mexico

After radioing Missile Control and telling them what had happened, he was told that they were indeed picking up a radar signature moving rapidly, but that they were not able to tell what it was. Security forces and soldiers immediately descended upon the area, and a massive search began, which would go on for 3 days without finding a single trace of the missing man. In the meantime, it was suspected that Lovette had been the victim of foul play and that Cunningham was responsible, his wild story simply a cover, and he was detained. On the third day of the search, after meticulously scouring 100 square miles of the landscape, Lovette’s body was found around 10 miles from where he had gone missing, and his corpse was in a horrifying state.

Besides being completely drained of every drop of blood, there was no sign of vascular collapse, meaning he had not died of bleeding to death and was very unusual for someone who had been drained of so much blood. An incision had been made in Lovette’s lower jaw, through which his tongue had been removed, a cut which extended from the tip of the chin all the way down to his larynx. His anus and genitalia had been expertly removed “as if from a plug,” and his eyes had been taken out smoothly. The body showed no signs of decomposition, despite being estimated to have been lying out there in the desert heat for one or two days, and most oddly of all there were found to be dead scavengers nearby that had apparently died after trying to feed on the body. None of it made any sense at all, and still doesn’t.

This particular incident has its origins in an alleged report called Grudge/Blue Book Report 13, which is mysterious in many ways in and of itself. The manual in question was supposedly analyzed by an information analyst for the U.S. Air Force and former Green Beret named Bill English, and is allegedly dated 1953-1963. Upon the cover is apparently written the code AFSN 2246-3 and the words “Top Secret Need Yo Know Only, Crypto Clearance 14, or above, Required” stamped on it in red ink. Since it is unknown if this document ever really existed or not, and the information given by Bille English is only preserved in his own notes and his memory of what he read, it is unknown if the report is real or whether the Lovette case ever really happened in any sense at all, and so it remains shrouded in mystery.

Just as creepy is the case of a 56-year-old miner named Zingmund Adamski, who vanished without a trace while out shopping for groceries near his home in Tingley, near Wakefield, England, on June 5, 1980, at around 3:30 PM. On June 11, his dead body turned up atop a 12-foot high pile of coal at around 3:45 PM in the town of Todmorden, around 20 miles away from where he had gone missing. The discovery was odd, since that morning the coal yard reported that there had certainly been no body there and no suspicious activity, so it had basically just appeared out of nowhere. Adamski was purportedly wearing a suit but missing his shirt, watch, and wallet, yet other than that his clothing seemed to be in rather pristine condition, although they seemed to be improperly fastened, as if put on by someone who did not know what they were doing.

Although not as badly mutilated as the other cases, Adamski’s body nevertheless showed some oddities that are hard to explain. An autopsy revealed that the cause of death had been a heart attack, but this was not known for sure, and strangely although he had been missing for 5 days he only had one day of beard growth. He had been well-fed and taken care of, but what was strange was that there were some weird burns marks on his neck and shoulders that were of an unknown origin, with some unidentified gel or lotion spread across them. There was no evidence that he had sought any sort of medical treatment from the area’s hospitals and the cause of the burns and the composition of the gel could not be determined by forensic scientists. James Turnbull, the coroner who dealt with Zigmund’s death, said of the condition of the body, “The question of where he was before he died and what led to his death just could not be answered.”

All of these things posed a variety of questions. First, if he had died of a heart attack, then why had he found himself at the top of that pile of coal? This is even more mysterious considering that there were no signs that anyone had climbed up the pile at all, suggesting that the body had been placed there from above. Also, since he had been taken care of and had died only recently, then where had he been for nearly a week before his dead body was found?

The case was so strange that it attracted the attention of a UFO researcher, strangely named George Adamski, who believed that Zigmund had been in fact abducted by aliens, possibly accidentally, and this theory was further bolstered by claims made in the following days by police officer Alan Godfrey, who had been the officer who had originally found the body and who claimed to have seen a diamond-shaped UFO in the area 6 months later. Godfrey claimed that this UFO had abducted him, leaving him in his patrol car with 30 minutes of lost time. There were also alleged cattle mutilations around the region at the time, which were thought to have been perhaps related to Adamski’s disappearance and subsequent death. Considering that the region has been known for quite sometime as a UFO hotspot, does this mean that Adamski was indeed abducted by a UFO? It is hard to say, but the circumstances of his disappearance, the condition of his body, and the weird clues surrounding it all have made it oft-discussed and debated.

What happened to these people? How can we explain their strange and sinister disappearances and the odd condition of their corpses? Is there a rational explanation to be found here or are we forced to look to, shall we say, more mysterious explanations? Cases such as these serve as a splinter upon the mind, begging to be removed and put into rational explanation, yet they continue to defy such efforts. What is going on here? What is behind such things? Is it sick individuals, the work of scavengers, or forces from beyond our world and understanding? It is hard to say for sure, and such accounts only serve to deepen the mysteries behind the UFO phenomena and this weird, weird world we live in.

Britain’s UFO Files

Britain’s top secret UFO files are set to be released within months shedding light on alien encounters across the UK, the government have confirmed.

The government has confirmed classified documents detailing evidence of UFO sightings and abductions contain nearly 50 years of information about alien experiences.

Spooks have kept the files under wraps for the past five decades – but now UFO hunters are rejoicing as the files are on the verge of release.

The National Archives have confirmed the UFO document dubbed the “real life X-files” will be released after the General Election on June 8. We are eagerly waiting for their release!

The UFO Dossier is understood to contain 18 files detailing alleged encounters and experiences involving alien life.

It will contain information relating to the Rendlesham Forest incident – Britain’s most infamous UFO encounter – which has been likened to the UK’s Roswell.

Military men at the twin bases of RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge in Suffolk experienced “alien” activity over a number of nights and encountered a “triangle shaped craft” in the woods.

Some Ufologists have claimed the delays in releasing the files have been a cover-up – but archivists have been unable to publish them due to the election.

Documents were meant to be released in 2013, but a number of the files were withheld for release in March.

But their release has been delayed again due to Prime Minister Theresa May calling an election.

While UFO hunters are waiting with baited breath for the files, experts have downplayed their release.

Nick Pope, an expert who worked as the Ministry of Defense’s UFO investigator for 15 years, said: “There’s no smoking gun in these files that will confirm the existence of aliens, but there are plenty of fascinating UFO reports and MoD policy documents, so these really are the real-life X-Files.”

He told the Mail: “The delay has been a comedy of errors though, I think it’s more bureaucracy than conspiracy.”

A spokesman for the National Archives told UFO news website Grenzwissenschaft-aktuell:

“Due to the recentelection here in the UK and the rules relating to the government departments during the pre-election period, the files will not be released until after the election.”

Author Nick Redfern talks about his new book "The Roswell UFO Conspiracy"

OKLAHOMA CITY – With the city of Roswell, New Mexico celebrating the 70th anniversary of the alleged “UFO crash” near that desert city, way back in July 1947, one author willing to follow the path of truth, wherever it takes him, is Nick Redfern.

And just in time for that anniversary, which will likely result in steady business at Roswell’s International UFO Museum and Research Center, Redfern has just released The Roswell UFO Conspiracy: Exposing a Shocking and Sinister Secret, published by Lisa Hagan Books, which Red Dirt Report reviewed here.

This new book is a follow-up and update to his groundbreaking 2005 book, Body Snatchers in the Desert.

Redfern is no stranger to the subject of UFOs and aliens, having written a number of compelling books on the topic over many years now. He’s an expert and well-regarded in the field of Ufology, at least among the intellectually honest folks who really want to know the truth.

And so for those who have spent their lives turning the alleged flying saucer crash at the Foster Ranch near Roswell into a sacred and holy event and one to never be questioned, Redfern’s research poses a challenge for those devoted to the "alien" angle.

Asked if he had originally planned to release the book this summer, to coincide with the 70th anniversary, Redfern, speaking to Red Dirt Report from his home in Texas, said not initially, as it was pretty much written last year. But when he realized 2017 would be a major anniversary, with talk of the “Roswell Incident,” on the lips of many, it made more sense to publish it now.

“You know, after Body Snatchers, I became public enemy number one in many of the chat rooms, particularly one called UFO Update,” he said, adding that since the new book has come out, the past 12 years have been kinder to his findings, as few if any negative comments have come out about The Roswell UFO Conspiracy.

Nevertheless, Redfern admits that much remains unknown, mainly because of documents covering the years 1945-51 are missing, according to the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) efforts made in the 1990’s, after New Mexico’s Republican U.S. Rep. Steven Schiff prompted further investigations into what happened back in ’47.

“All outgoing messages from ’45 to ’51 are gone. They’re still gone. Can’t be found now,” Redfern said.

But why those six years, if the alleged UFO crash only happened in 1947?

“A lot is shrouded in mystery,” Redfern said. “Who go to the site first. What (rancher Mac) Brazel knew, the wreckage, the bodies … we still don’t have a full, clear picture of what happened.”

Despite all that, Redfern upturned tables in the Church of “St. Roswell” by taking the Roswell mystery toward a far more terrestrial direction. Not the military-sanctioned “weather balloon” cover story, but in a far darker place where human beings were likely used in pre-Space Age high altitude experiments that resulted in both Japanese prisoners of war and handicapped and disabled people being essentially used as guinea pigs in these experiments. And they were known to be kept at the notorious Fort Stanton. For Redfern it was all beginning to add up.

In the new book, Redfern does share information collected by fellow researcher Kathy Kasten, who passed away in 2012. But Redfern was fortunate enough to be given many thousands of pages of research and material in multitudinous files Kasten's family provided to Redfern, per her request before her death.

It was after Body Snatchers in the Desert was published, recalls Redfern, that Kasten connected with him and, after comparing notes, realized that their research – independent of one another – was matching up.

“It was so close to what I had been told, but none of my sources had talked to Kathy,” Redfern said.

Calling her a “funny and feisty character” who “didn’t stand for any nonsense,” Redfern said Kasten had initially been approaching the Roswell event as a possible alien saucer crash, with bodies aboard. But her research and her contacts – including, according to Redfern, the “Silent Partners,” who contacted Kasten psychically, via the Remote Viewing technique – directed her to Fort Stanton, New Mexico, a military facility located “a stone’s throw from Foster Ranch.”

These “Silent Partners,” likely trained Remote Viewers in Washington who wanted the truth to get out about Roswell, did so clandestinely, Redfern said, and led to her to discover that the aforementioned Japanese prisoners of war were made “offers they couldn’t refuse” to participate in these experiments in those murky, post-World War II years, as the Cold War heated up. Experiments giving LSD-25 to troops in Britain or placing handicapped people near atomic test sites in Australia, as the UK reportedly did during those years - if that could happen, and simply be human beings doing horrific things to fellow humans, why not Roswell being a test involving humans as well - perhaps even "enemy aliens" and not the "aliens" we think of today, like the Grays and so forth.

In any event, Redfern says that Kathy Kasten's research made a lot of sense. But some things were just too dangerous to even write down, he suggests.

“It’s intriguing because in Kathy’s notes it clear that things are missing,” he said. “There were things he dared not put down on paper. Whatever it was went with her to the grave.”

“I thin k the important thing to note is that if Roswell was a UFO event, even I can admit that there are a number of UFO events that are legitimately genuine … highly credible reports of craft we were not flying back then,” Redfern said, adding, "I'm honest enough to admit I can't be 100 percent for sure" on the Roswell case. "It's the honest path to take.

Continuing, Redfern said he "believes in Ufology" but that doesn't mean Roswell was an event involving extraterrestrials.

"Roswell has been elevated to number one in Ufology," he said, noting that while it's a "fascinating case," it still has been "inextricably tied" to the study of UFOs and nothing he can see at the moment will change that in the minds of researchers and the public - except to continue to write about and discuss other, more disturbing possibilities - that our government may have used human beings in ghastly experiments that had fatal outcomes for many involved - people who were vulnerable and handicapped in some cases.

US Air Force captain 'sworn to secrecy over shocking UFO nuclear case' breaks silence

A FORMER US Air Force captain has broken a pledge to keep quiet about an extraordinary UFO incident allegedly involving nuclear weapons.

Captain David D Schindele was formerly a Minuteman I intercontinental ballistic missile launch crew commander in the Minot Air Force Base missile field in North Dakota.

He claims a UFO destroyed 10 nuclear-tipped missiles he was in charge of, making them unusable.

On December 6, 1966, the Minot Daily News carried a front page story saying UFOs had been reported in the local area.

The headline was: "Minot Launch Control Center ‘Saucer’ Cited As One Indication of Outer Space Visitors."

Mr Schindele claims air force officials ordered him to never to speak about the incident, and effectively erase it from his memory.

But he has now told the "true story of the incident" in the new book “It Never Happened, Volume 1.”

Mr Schindele told the Minot Daily News: "During that time in Minot, many of us experienced unworldly incidents at Minuteman facilities but we were all individually instructed to keep silent. 

"We never realised at the time that others among us were also experiencing incidents, but now the truth is becoming known.” 

He explained that he decided to write the book after hearing some years ago of a similar incident experienced by another missileer.

He said: “About 35 years after my Minot incident and learning about an identical incident experienced by another missileer, Captain Robert Salas, connected to Malmstrom AFB in Montana, which was during the same general timeframe as my incident, I then contemplated coming forth with the ‘truth'.

“After discovering in 2010 that other missileers with me at Minot also experienced associated incidents, I then decided to conduct extensive research on Air Force cover-up to find out exactly why the Air Force told all of us to keep our ‘lips zipped.’

"We all had top secret clearances, but that was not enough to allow the Air Force to provide truth to us, or to explain the incidents. 

"We were all kept in the dark and never trained on how to manage such incidents and situations should they reoccur. 

"It was a very disconcerting time for all of us.

“It was a six-and-a-half year effort, but I also realised that a second volume would be needed to make it complete.” 

But, he said a number of Minot missileers had taken their secrets to the grave, or still won't speak.

He added: “With the passing of more than 50 years since my incident at Minot and 70 years since the incident at Roswell, New Mexico, there can be no ethical, moral, or critical reason for keeping the secret from humankind any longer, and my other missileer friends agree with that.

“From the beginning, I’ve been conflicted with the goal of bringing truth to as many people as possible, while having no appetite for bringing attention to myself or receiving monetary benefit. But I also realise the fallacy in that.”

Triangle UFO sighting filmed over Warr Acres, Oklahoma 19-Jun-2017

Triangle-shaped craft was seen and recorded in the sky above Warr Acres in Oklahoma on 19th June 2017.

Witness report:

 On June 19th at around 3:30 am we were headed westbound on NW 50th Street in Warr Acres, OK.

I first noticed the object in the distance as 3 lights. I immediately started filming it and as we got closer my phone’s camera stopped working, it wouldn’t focus and wouldn’t let me continue filming.

When we approached the intersection of NW 50th and Grove we noticed that the UFO was triangular in shape, with 3-4 lights, the lights were mostly white with a red blinking light in the center of the triangle. There was no sound from the object whatsoever. It was almost as if the object noticed us, and at that point it took off very quickly southeasterly. We continued to follow it for about a mile when it just vanished entirely.

While strange, this event did not cause me to feel any fear, if anything it was curiosity and shock. My gut instinct is that this was a drone of some sort, but despite doing a lot of research I have been unable to find any example of what we saw.

Teen Captures A UFO On Video In The Night Sky Above New Mexico

The student and small business owner Manny Ceniceros believes he captured a UFO in the night sky during a recent ride home.

He told her mother to drive and roll down the window to record the weird looking object. It came to Ceniceros’ mind that it was just a bird, but when he got home and uploaded the video, he found out that it was not a bird or an owl or anything like it.

Ceniceros believes that he captured a UFO, as people might call it. He says that he was not expecting to find anything that time as he just wanted to get footage for his promotional video of his screen-printing business.

Ceniceros recorded the video while his mother was driving near Dos Lagos Golf Course on Monday at around 11 pm in Anthony, N.M. A classic saucer-shaped UFO reportedly appeared about 25 seconds in the video and then quickly disappeared.

Manny’s sister Berenice Ceniceros said that she saw a light flash, but did not focus it because she thought it was one of the lights on the roadside. When they got home, they saw that it was different and it was actually a UFO.

Manny said that he was sceptical about UFOs and sightings, but he is now starting to believe that UFOs might exist.

Filer’s Files #25 -2017 Atlantic UFO Confrontations -PART II

Despite the fact that most ufologists have dismissed the new MJ12 documents as garbage (which they are), I’m still getting emails and messages from people who just won’t let things go and who insist they are the real thing. Look, they are not the real thing. But, try telling that to those who prefer conspiracy-filled excitement to commonsense. Let’s try and put things to rest, by looking at a selection of theories for what these documents really are or may be.

1. The documents are real: 

Nope, they’re not. How do we know that? Very simply because the documents are filled with glaring errors. At one point in the documents, we’re told that, regarding the Roswell affair, “…The authorities at the Roswell Field Army Air Forces Base were alerted by Mr. Brazel at 09:18 on 07 July, 1947 and two officers of the base were guided to the crash site by the ranch manager.” Wrong. William Brazel, who found the Roswell debris on the Foster Ranch back in 1947 did not contact the military at Roswell at all. He contacted the sheriff’s office and it was they who contacted the people at Roswell. Given that this document was supposedly written by insiders, with access to the most detailed aspects of the Roswell event, you would think they would surely have gotten even the basic facts correct. But, apparently not. As Kevin Randle notes: “The use of ‘Ultra Top Secret’ also raises questions. Ultra was the British code name for their operation to intercept and read high-level, highly-classified Nazi message traffic. This code name seems inappropriate for use by the US government or military.” Kevin also notes: “We are treated to a reference to the base at Flat Rock, Nevada, which, of course, was the scene of much of the action in The Andromeda Strain.” For those who may not know, The Andromeda Strain was a work of fiction from the late Michael Crichton.

2. The documents are disinformation:

 Very often, when a collection of controversial papers like this one surfaces – and particularly when it contains errors – the word “disinformation” surfaces. Disinformation is described as follows: “False information which is intended to mislead, especially propaganda issued by a government organization to a rival power or the media.” Has disinformation played a role in Ufology – and particularly in the field of crashed UFOs? Yes, it has. Check out (a) the intriguing saga of the Spitsbergen UFO; and (b) the strange affair of Karl Pflock and the Aztec UFO. They are both suggestive of disinformation campaigns that had tales of crashed UFOs at their heart. These newly-surfaced documents, however, come across as bad science-fiction and will not (or should not) impress, manipulate or deceive anyone.

3. The documents are a hoax: 

Over the years, the field of Ufology has had more than its fair share of hoaxes – some involving documents. The late Contactee George Adamski got into big trouble with the FBI when, in the early 1950s, he created what amounted to a hoaxed document by carefully altering a real one. Also on the matter of George Adamski, there’s the near-legendary hoaxed document which has become known as the “Straith Letter,” and which was orchestrated by ufologists Gray Barker and Jim Moseley. The list goes on and on. But, it’s important to note that we know for sure these documents were fabricated. Adamski crossed the line as a means to impress his followers. Moseley and Barker were just having a bit of fun during a late-night drinking session. The idea that the new MJ12 documents are the work of someone in Ufology who is desperate to see Roswell vindicated – as a UFO event, at least – is not out of the question. This is the “I want to believe” factor taken to its ultimate level by someone frustrated by the fact that – for the most part – Roswell has hit a brick wall. If a hoax, the creator is probably a fantasist, a socially-challenged adult male virgin with severe halitosis, and a chronic bed-wetter. And, yes, those words are intended to outrage the man behind this and to try and have him make himself known. But, those same words are probably true too.

4. The documents are an experiment: 

There are two possibilities with this particular theory. Both possibilities revolve around the time-frame in which the documents surfaced. Let’s not forget that the 70th anniversary of the Roswell affair is just a couple of weeks away. Whatever the motivation for the new MJ12 documents, I’m sure the timing of the surfacing of the documents is not a coincidence. Somewhere, somehow, the date/timing is relevant. Maybe the documents are the creation of someone in Ufology who, tired of the fact that when it comes to Roswell, we have hit that aforementioned brick wall, has decided to take an alternative route to try and get the truth. Perhaps, by faking the documentation, they are hoping that it might force “the government” to respond – and that, in doing so, it may reignite the Roswell controversy and result in the release of something of significance. Not impossible, but highly unlikely. The other angle, which I think may well be the correct one, is that the documentation is the work of a UFO skeptic, someone who is looking to see the major figures in the Roswell field endorse the papers and, as a result, come crashing down. The skeptical creator will then state that his actions amounted to a kind of skewed social experiment, and were designed to see (a) how gullible, (b) how desperate for evidence that aliens crashed at Roswell, and (c) how easily manipulated the Roswell/UFO research community is. In that sense, the faker will claim the documents do not amount to a hoax, but are part of an effort to demonstrate how common-sense and rational, critical thinking can go out of the window when there is a yearning for Roswell to finally be solved. Fortunately, most Roswell researchers are not endorsing the documents, so that’s a good thing.

Maybe, in the near future, we’ll know who faked these documents and why. And, maybe, the answer will be one of those above. Or, perhaps, there are other motivations. Whatever the answer, it won’t take away the fact that the documents are bullshit.

WETENSCHAP Ruimtetelescoop Kepler heeft nog eens 219 potentiële planeten in andere stelsels ontdekt. Tien daarvan zijn rotsachtig, net als de aarde, en staan op zo'n afstand van hun ster dat er misschien leven mogelijk is. Ze staan in de "leefbare zone". Waarschijnlijk is er het niet te warm en niet te koud, maar precies goed. Het wordt ook wel het Goudlokje-gebied genoemd.

De Amerikaanse ruimtevaartorganisatie NASA heeft de nieuwe stand vandaag naar buiten gebracht. Buiten ons zonnestelsel, dat acht planeten telt, zijn inmiddels al 2.335 planeten gevonden. Daarnaast zijn er ongeveer evenveel kandidaat-planeten, waarvan het bestaan nog niet onomstotelijk vaststaat. Zeker dertig en mogelijk vijftig planeten lijken op de aarde en zitten in de juiste zone.

De Kepler werd in 2009 gelanceerd. De telescoop meet het licht van ongeveer 100.000 sterren, in een klein stukje van het heelal. Als een planeet voor de ster langs gaat, ziet de Kepler dat het licht iets minder fel wordt.

UNITED KINGDOM UFO FILES | UFO 'HAD NEAR MISS WITH BOEING 737

British UFO files containing almost 50 years of data about UFOs and otherworldly beings are waiting to be released to the public longing for more disclosure.

A ''near miss'' between a Boeing 737 airliner approaching Manchester Airport and a UFO was investigated by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

THE B737 PILOT reports that he was over the Pennines, about 8 or 9 NM SE of Manchester Airport, at 4000ft, while being radar vectored by Manchester radar on 119.4. He was flying at 180-210 kt on a N heading and squeaking 5734 with Mode C selected. Although it was dark, visibility was over 10 km with a fairly strong NW wind (340/30).

While flying just above the tops of some rugged Cu both he and the first officer saw a lighted (see JAS notes) object fly down the RH side of the ac at high speed from the opposite direction. He was able to track the object through the RH windscreen and side window, having it is sight for a total of about 2 seconds. There was no apparent sound or wake. The first officer instinctively 'ducked' as it went by

Whatever the case, more than breadcrumbs are expected to come out from the latest release of UFO files. There won’t probably be a direct confirmation of intelligent alien life, but more dots will join that will offer people food for thought for the years to come. MASSIVE CYLINDERS FLYING OVER THE MOON DURING APOLLO 9 MISSION - OFFICIAL NASA PICTURE

On the 3rd of March 1969, Apollo 9 launched with a crucial mission: to fly the lunar module for the first time. The craft passed Nasa's test procedures during the unmanned Apollo 5 mission. Apollo 9 was the first time a crew would be aboard the spacecraft.

The crew orbited low Earth for 10 days testing the lunar module's engines, docking maneuvers, navigation, as well as backpack life support systems. While the module performed well, the crew had to cancel a spacewalk after one of the astronauts fell ill during the flight.  

During their low Earth orbit, the crew took as many pictures as they could, for later research. On the 10th of March, an astronaut took this mysterious picture of the moon. It shows three massive cylinders flying between earth and the moon. These are clear real objects since they are in focus with the moon. The archive number of this NASA photograph is AS09-23-3500.

Since the beginning of time, mankind has been staring at the moon. Maybe there's a good reason...

'I spoke to aliens' Woman tells of bizarre encounter after UFO 'tailed her car'

A WOMAN shockingly claims to have made contact with aliens after a bizarre incident in which a "flaming UFO" reportedly followed her car.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - One woman is claiming that she spotted a UFO in Tallahassee and says she has video to prove it.

Around 4:10 a.m., Daire-Brady was sitting on the porch when she noticed a light in the distance. Thinking to herself that it looked odd, she went to check it out, walking around her barn to get a better look.

As she walked, Daire-Brady says the light got bigger and bigger.

At this point, she says that she began to freak out so she pulled out her phone and began recording. She says that once she did, the floating lights started changing colors and going all over the place, all while getting closer and closer. 

Suddenly, a bright light flashed, Daire-Brady saying it looked like a giant green triangle. She says the flash lasted for a few seconds before the object flew away.

Daire-Brady then ran to tell her husband what she saw. He was skeptical, saying that she was just seeing things due to a lack of sleep.

But once she showed him the video, Daire-Brady says that he believed her. 

She says that she has since then shown the video to several friends who say that the mysterious floating object doesn't appear to be a drone or any other aircraft. 

Daire-Brady says that she is convinced that what she saw was a UFO.

"It could be nothing else," Daire-Brady explained. "My husband, brother, and I ruled out a drone. Too fast. Too erratic, not a drone. It was not any kind of aircraft."

Why Is the Speed of Light So Slow?

Einstein's theory of special relativity sets of the speed of light, 186,000 miles per second (300 million meters per second). But some scientists are exploring the possibility that this cosmic speed limit changes.

In 2015, a team of Scottish scientists announced they had found a way to slow the speed of light. By sending photons through a special mask, the researchers altered their shape. In this malformed state, these infinitesimal particles of light traveled slower than normal photons.

The difference in speed was almost imperceptible, but the accomplishment itself was stunning! At 299,792,458 meters per second, the speed of light has stood as an unbreakable, unchangeable speed limit. No longer.

But why would anybody want to slow down the speed of light? After all, it's already slow enough!

As strange as that assertion may seem to humans accustomed to traveling a mere 70 miles per hour on the highway, it makes a lot of sense on a cosmic scale. Consider this: If the observable Universe was reduced to the size of planet Earth, traversing the Milky Way Galaxy would be roughly equivalent to walking three houses down the block to visit your neighbor. And yet, traveling at the cosmic speed limit of our smaller, Earth-size universe, that short jaunt would take 100,000 years!

This example showcases just how tediously slow exploring the galaxy would be for a ship traveling at the speed of light. Such a journey would span more than a hundred human generations!

Even if you don't consider humanity's self-centered wish for interstellar light-speed travel and instead think about photons dashing across our solar system, the speed of light still seems positively sluggish. As astrophysicist Brian Koberlein calculated, it takes 45 minutes for light from the Sun to reach Jupiter, and five hours for it to reach Pluto.

And of course, when gazing at the sky with the naked eye, we're viewing some stars as they were more than 4,000 years in the past -- that's how long it takes their light to reach us!

So now that we've ascertained that light is not fast but rather is excruciatingly slow, we can now turn to a more pressing and difficult matter: Why?

Theoretical physicists can muse and cosmologists can measure, but all their learned tinkering currently leads back to an inescapable answer: Because.

Theoretical physicist Gennaro Tedesco provided a slightly more satisfying version:

The universe is made such that photons propagate with that velocity, there is no reason why it should be so, but it is just the way it is. Physics does not explain why things are what they are, rather it explains how to make predictions by using proven models.

Okay, so like in much of theoretical physics, the answer is effectively a non-answer, and we're still stuck in a slow universe.

To salvage this situation, let's examine a scenario where light is much faster. What would existence be like if, say, the speed of light was boosted by a factor of 1,000? Steve Jones explored the hypothetical. A light-speed vessel could cross the Milky Way in less than a century! A trip to Alpha Centauri, home to a potentially habitable planet, would take fewer than two days! Computers and networks would run faster thanks to enhanced optical speeds! We might be more likely to receive signals from extraterrestrials!

But – and this is a big but – the Sun would burn a million times hotter. We'd be cooked.

So you better learn to love our finely tuned speed of light, however slothlike it may be. If it were any faster, life on Planet Earth might not exist.

NASA Discovers 10 Potentially Habitable Earth-Like Planets

Kepler telescope catalogs hundreds of new alien worlds, some potentially habitable

The galaxy is full of worlds like ours. That’s the lesson from Kepler, NASA’s prodigious exoplanet-hunting mission, which has found another 219 potential new exoplanets, bringing its total to 4034, according to a final analysis of its main 4-year search and published in a final catalog released today. Of the new candidates, 10 are near in size to Earth and sit in the habitable zone of their stars—the range of orbits in which liquid water could exist on their surfaces. Those new additions bring the total number of potentially habitable planets detected by Kepler to 49.

And that’s just in the corner of the sky that Kepler stared at. This now-complete catalog will help astronomers assess just how common Earth-like planets are in our galaxy overall. “I’m really excited to see what people will do with this catalog,” Susan Mullally, a Kepler research scientist at the SETI Institute in Mountain View, California, told a press conference today during the Kepler & K2 Science Conference at NASA’s Ames Research Center in Mountain View. One study, also presented at the conference, has discovered a clear dividing line between rocky planets larger than Earth and gassy planets smaller than Neptune.

Between 2009 and 2013, Kepler stared at the same patch of sky in the Cygnus constellation and measured the brightness of some 200,000 stars. If any of them dipped in brightness for a short period, it could be sign of a planet passing in front, blocking some of their light. Of Kepler’s list of more than 4000 likely candidates from those observations, 2335 have been verified as exoplanets with further analysis or other ground-based observations. The mission continues to occasionally discover exoplanets with more limited capabilities in other parts of the sky.

Before Kepler, astronomers only knew of giant Jupiter-sized exoplanets, some in astonishingly tight orbits around their stars. But Kepler has revealed far more variety.

For the final catalog, the team focused on teasing out Earth-sized planets around G-type stars like our sun. Such planets are harder to spot because they might have made only a few transits across their star during Kepler’s 4-year watch. The result is some of the nearest Earth-analogs found so far, including one known as KOI-7711. “It’s the closest to Earth in size and orbit,” said Mullally, “but there is still a lot we don’t know about this planet.”

One of Kepler’s other big surprises was a profusion of planets intermediate in size between Earth and Neptune. Astronomers were at a loss to explain how such planets formed and whether there was a continuum between rocky terrestrial “super-Earths” and gassy “mini-Neptunes.”

A follow-up study, described today by astronomer Benjamin Fulton of the University of Hawaii in Honolulu, fine-tuned the size measurements for some 2000 Kepler planets using the Keck telescopes in Hawaii. Far from there being a continuum of planets, the study found two distinct groups: one smaller than 1.5 times the size of Earth, the other bigger than twice Earth’s size, with very few examples in the gap in between. Fulton and his team believe that the smaller group is made up of rocky super-Earths, whereas the larger is comprised of gaseous mini-Neptunes. He likened the discovery to realizing that mammals and reptiles are on separate branches of the evolutionary tree.

“The gap in radius is really interesting and comes from meticulous follow-up of the previously discovered Kepler planets, rather than the ones announced today,” says astronomer David Kipping of Columbia University, who was not involved in the study.

Fulton said at the press conference that the team believes the division is caused by the environment a planet finds itself in at the time of its formation, along with its ability to hold onto volatile gases such as hydrogen. The gravity of a smaller super-Earth may not be strong enough to hold onto hydrogen; if it’s close to its star, the hydrogen may get blasted away. But if a planet starts out with more hydrogen, is larger, or forms further out before moving inwards, it may end up as a mini-Neptune.

In the search for life, Fulton believes it will be better to focus on super-Earths. “This has implications in the search for life,” Fulton said. “It sharpens the dividing line between potentially habitable and not habitable.”

Nasa discovers 10 new 'rocky' planets like Earth

Mario Perez, a Kepler programme scientist at Nasa, stressed the importance of the space telescope.

“The Kepler data set is unique, as it is the only one containing a population of these near Earth-analogues – planets with roughly the same size and orbit as Earth,” he said.

“Understanding their frequency in the galaxy will help inform the design of future Nasa missions to directly image another Earth.”

Zombies and aliens may not be a realistic threat to our species. But there’s one stock movie villain we can’t be so sanguine about: sentient robots. If anything, their arrival is probably just a matter of time. But what will a world of conscious machines be like? Will there be a place in it for us?

Artificial intelligence research has been going through a recent revolution. AI systems can now outperform humans at playing chess and Go, recognizing faces, and driving safely. Even so, most researchers say truly conscious machines — ones that don’t just run programs but have feelings and are self-aware — are decades away. First, the reasoning goes, researchers have to build a generalized intelligence, a single machine with the above talents and the capacity to learn more. Only then will AI reach the level of sophistication needed for consciousness.

But some think it won’t take nearly that long.

“People expect that self-awareness is going to be this end game of artificial intelligence when really there are no scientific pursuits where you start at the end,” says Justin Hart, a computer scientist at the University of Texas. He and other researchers are already building machines with rudimentary minds. One robot wriggles like a newborn baby to understand its body. Another robot babbles about what it sees and cries when you hit it. Another sets off to explore its world on its own.

No one claims that robots have a rich inner experience — that they have pride in floors they’ve vacuumed or delight in the taste of 120-volt current. But robots can now exhibit some similar qualities to the human mind, including empathy, adaptability, and gumption.

Beyond it just being cool to create robots, researchers design these cybernetic creatures because they’re trying to fix flaws in machine-learning systems. Though these systems may be powerful, they are opaque. They work by relating input to output, like a test where you match items in column ‘A’ with items in column ‘B’. The AI systems basically memorize these associations. There’s no deeper logic behind the answers they give. And that’s a problem.

Humans can also be hard to read. We spend an inordinate amount of time analyzing ourselves and others, and arguably, that’s the main role of our conscious minds. If machines had minds, they might not be so inscrutable. We could simply ask them why they did what they did.

“If we could capture some of the structure of consciousness, it’s a good bet that we’d be producing some interesting capacity,” says Selmer Bringsjord, an AI researcher at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. Although science fiction may have us worried about sentient robots, it’s really the mindless robots we need to be cautious of. Conscious machines may actually be our allies.​

ROBOT, KNOW THYSELF

Self-driving cars have some of the most advanced AI systems today. They decide where to steer and when to brake by taking constant radar and laser readings and feeding them into algorithms. But much of driving is anticipating other drivers’ maneuvers and responding defensively — functions that are associated with consciousness.

“Self-driving cars will have to read the minds of what other self-driving cars want to do,” says Paul Verschure, a neuroscientist at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona.

As a demonstration of how that might look, Hod Lipson, an engineering professor at Columbia University and co-author of a recent book on self-driving cars, and Kyung-Joong Kim at Sejong University in Seoul, South Korea built the robotic equivalent of a crazy driver. The small round robot (about the size of a hockey puck) moves on a loopy path according to its own logic. Then a second robot is set with the goal of intercepting the first robot no matter where the first one started, so it couldn’t record a fixed route; it had to divine the moving robot’s logic.

People expect that self-awareness is going to be this end game of AI when really there are no scientific pursuits where you start at the end.

Using a procedure that mimicked Darwinian evolution, Lipson and Kim crafted an interception strategy. “It had basically developed a duplicate of the brain of the actor — not perfect, but good enough that it could anticipate what it’s going to do,” Lipson says.

Lipson’s team also built a robot that can develop an understanding of its body. The four-legged spidery machine is about the size of a large tarantula. When switched on, its internal computer has no prior information about itself. “It doesn’t know how its motors are arranged, what its body plan is,” Lipson says

But it has the capacity to learn. It makes all the actions it is capable of to see what happens: how, for example, turning on a motor bends a leg joint. “Very much like a baby, it babbles,” Lipson says. “It moves its motors in a random way.”

After four days of flailing, it realizes it has four legs and figures out how to coordinate and move them so it can slither across the floor. When Lipson unplugs one of the motors, the robot realizes it now has only three legs and that its actions no longer produce the intended effects.

“I would argue this robot is self-aware in a very primitive way,” Lipson says.

Another humanlike capability that researchers would like to build into AI is initiative. Machines excel at playing the game Go because humans directed the machines to solve it. They can’t define problems on their own, and defining problems is usually the hard part.

In a forthcoming paper for the journal “Trends in Cognitive Science,” Ryota Kanai, a neuroscientist and founder of a Tokyo-based startup Araya discusses how to give machines intrinsic motivation. In a demonstration, he and his colleagues simulated agents driving a car in a virtual landscape that includes a hill too steep for the car to climb unless it gets a running start. If told to climb the hill, the agents figure out how to do so. Until they receive this command, the car sits idle.

Then Kanai’s team endowed these virtual agents with curiosity. They surveyed the landscape, identified the hill as a problem, and figured out how to climb it even without instruction.

“We did not give a goal to the agent,” Kanai says. “The agent just explores the environment to learn what kind of situation it is in by making predictions about the consequence of its own action.”

The trick is to give robots enough intrinsic motivation to make them better problem solvers, and not so much that they quit and walk out of the lab. Machines can prove as stubborn as humans. Joscha Bach, an AI researcher at Harvard, put virtual robots into a “Minecraft”-like world filled with tasty but poisonous mushrooms. He expected them to learn to avoid them. Instead, they stuffed their mouths.

“They discounted future experiences in the same way as people did, so they didn’t care,” Bach says. “These mushrooms were so nice to eat.” He had to instill an innate aversion into the bots. In a sense, they had to be taught values, not just goals.

PAYING ATTENTION

In addition to self-awareness and self-motivation, a key function of consciousness is the capacity to focus your attention. Selective attention has been an important area in AI research lately, not least by Google DeepMind, which developed the Go-playing computer.

“Consciousness is an attention filter,” says Stanley Franklin, a computer science professor at the University of Memphis. In a paper published last year in the journal “Biologically Inspired Cognitive Architectures,” Franklin and his colleagues reviewed their progress in building an AI system called LIDA that decides what to concentrate on through a competitive process, as suggested by neuroscientist Bernard Baars in the 1980s. The processes watch for interesting stimuli — loud, bright, exotic — and then vie for dominance. The one that prevails determines where the mental spotlight falls and informs a wide range of brain function, including deliberation and movement. The cycle of perception, attention, and action repeats five to 10 times a second.

The first version of LIDA was a job-matching server for the U.S. Navy. It read emails and focused on pertinent information while juggling each job hunter’s interests, the availability of jobs, and the requirements of government bureaucracy.

Since then, Franklin’s team has used the system to model animals’ minds, especially behavioral quirks that result from focusing on one thing at a time. For example, LIDA is just as prone as humans are to a curious psychological phenomenon known as “attentional blink.” When something catches your attention, you become oblivious to anything else for about half a second. This cognitive blind spot depends on many factors and LIDA shows humanlike responses to these same factors.

Pentti Haikonen, a Finnish AI researcher, has built a robot named XCR-1 on similar principles. Whereas other researchers make modest claims — create some quality of consciousness — Haikonen argues that his creation is capable of genuine subjective experience and basic emotions.

The system learns to make associations much like the neurons in our brains do. If Haikonen shows the robot a green ball and speaks the word “green,” the vision and auditory modules respond and become linked. If Haikonen says “green” again, the auditory module will respond and, through the link, so will the vision module. The robot will proceed as if it heard the word and saw the color, even if it’s staring into an empty void.

Conversely, if the robot sees green, the auditory module will respond, even if the word wasn’t uttered. In short, the robot develops a kind of synesthesia.

“If we see a ball, we may say so to ourselves, and at that moment our perception is rather similar to the case when we actually hear that word,” Haikonen says. “The situation in the XCR-1 is the same.”

Things get interesting when the modules clash — if, for example, the vision module sees green while the auditory module hears “blue.” If the auditory module prevails, the system as a whole turns its attention to the word it hears while ignoring the color it sees. The robot has a simple stream of consciousness consisting of the perceptions that dominate it moment by moment: “green,” “ball,” “blue,” and so on. When Haikonen wires the auditory module to a speech engine, the robot will keep a running monolog about everything it sees and feels.

Haikonen also gives vibration a special significance as “pain,” which preempts other sensory inputs and consumes the robot’s attention. In one demonstration, Haikonen taps the robot and it blurts, “Me hurt.”

“Some people get emotionally disturbed by this, for some reason,” Haikonen says. (He and others are unsentimental about the creations. “I’m never like, ‘Poor robot,’” Verschure says.)

A NEW SPECIES

Building on these early efforts, researchers will develop more lifelike machines. We could see a continuum of conscious systems, just as there is in nature, from amoebas to dogs to chimps to humans and beyond. The gradual progress of this technology is good because it gives us time adjust to the idea that, one day, we won’t be the only advanced beings on the planet.

For a long while, our artificial companions will be vulnerable — more pet than threat. How we treat them will hinge on whether we recognize them as conscious and as capable of suffering.

“The reason that we value non-human animals, to the extent that people do, is that we see, based on our own consciousness, the light of consciousness within them as well,” says Susan Schneider, a philosopher at the University of Connecticut who studies the implications of AI. In fact, she thinks we will deliberately hold back from building conscious machines to avoid the moral dilemmas it poses.

“If you’re building conscious systems and having them work for us, that would be akin to slavery,” Schneider says. By the same token, if we don’t give advanced robots the gift of sentience, it worsens the threat they may eventually pose to humanity because they will see no particular reason to identify with us and value us.

Judging by what we’ve seen so far, conscious machines will inherit our human vulnerabilities. If robots have to anticipate what other robots do, they will treat one another as creatures with agency. Like us, they may start attributing agency to inanimate objects: stuffed animals, carved statues, the wind.

Last year, social psychologists Kurt Gray of the University of North Carolina and the late Daniel Wegner suggested in their book “The Mind Club” that this instinct was the origin of religion. “I would like to see a movie where the robots develop a religion because we have engineered them to have an intentionality prior so that they can be social,” Verschure says. ”But their intentionality prior runs away.”

These machines will vastly exceed our problem-solving ability, but not everything is a solvable problem. The only response they could have to conscious experience is to revel in it, and with their expanded ranges of sensory perception, they will see things people wouldn’t believe.

“I don’t think a future robotic species is going to be heartless and cold, as we sometimes imagine robots to be,” Lipson says. “They’ll probably have music and poetry that we’ll never understand.”

Mankind is closer to discovering extraterrestrial life in our solar system

Extraterrestrial life could be discovered over the next 20 years, but it will not look the way people expect, experts say.

According to astronomer Chris Impey, scientists are on the verge of discovering microbes on other planets, such as the moon of Jupiter, because they contain conditions favorable to the development of life, according to Mail Online.

Although experts have been investigating the sky for decades, they claims that we could detect microbial life for the next 10 or 15 years using the instruments on the James Webb telescope. “I bet everything on the discovery of microbial life in the next 10-15 years, but I cannot guarantee that we will also detect intelligent life forms”, Professor Impey of the University of Arizona said.

The researcher claims that the greatest possibilities for detecting extraterrestrial life are in our solar system. A propitious satellite for such a discovery is Europe, the sixth largest moon of Jupiter, which researchers have recently started studying. The moon has Earth-like features, but it is covered by oceans with frozen salty water because of the distance between the heavenly body and the sun.

NASA and ESA recently announced the launch of a future mission to better understand the celestial bodies covered by water. According to the teacher, studying the atmosphere on these celestial bodies is extremely important for establishing the possibility of alien life.

The calculations of the scientists have revealed that the percentage of extra-terrestrial civilizations that are intelligent among the possible number of aliens is going to be very small. In fact, the scientists have said that this number would be around 0.5%. Scientists have said that this is the main reason why intelligent aliens have not been observed today.

INTELLIGENT CIVILIZATIONS MAY EXISTED 300,000 YEARS AGO

Soriano and the team have also argued that the alien civilizations that are intelligent may well have existed around 300,000 years ago. In theory, they should have established contact with humans on Earth if they knew about the existence of Earth. The scientists believe that the search for tracks is only going to be possible in the future and this will happen when a larger number of the twins of Earth have been discovered by the advanced telescopes that NASA is using.

In February of this year scientists who had been observing the star system TRAPPIST-1 using the Spitzer Space Telescope of NASA revealed that they had discovered seven planets that were Earth-sized and which they thought were rocky, three of which might have been able to support life.  

There are some experts in the field who have confidence that the coming forward of intelligent aliens is going to be related closely to rather unique living conditions, which the scientists believe can only be found on Earth. There are other astronomers that think that communicating with aliens is not possible due to galactic civilizations disappearing too quickly to be noticed or that they chose to hide the fact that they are around from humans.

These tips are probable ways to get noticed and subsequently abducted by the aliens. There is no guarantee that you would still be abducted, as we do not know what is going on in the super-intelligent minds of the more advanced extraterrestrial beings.

NASA About To Confirm They Have Discovered Alien Life? Or Just More Lies And Waffle?

NASA is apparently primed to reveal its latest set of major discoveries on Monday after scanning planets outside our solar system for life. But many do believe that this could also be yet just more ‘drip feeding’ of disclosure and no real confirmation of anything – Are NASA playing games with us and the TRUTH?

Many people worldwide are now on the edge of their seats amid hopes the new find could shed light on the search for aliens. Although we are used to disappointment from NASA and being given information which does not really confirm anything.

The discoveries will come from the team at the Kepler space telescope which looks for habitable worlds outside the Solar System.

The telescope searches for Earth-sized planets in the “habitable zones” of nearby stars – and has found thousands of planets which could harbour life.  Speculation is mounting about the announcement by NASA – which is set for 3pm on Monday, June 19.

Infested with life out there – And does NASA know about it?

 As mentioned in our previous article above, last year, NASA announced the incredible find of nine planets orbiting the star TRAPPIST-1.  Three of the planets were believed to be in the star’s habitable zone and capable of harbouring life.

Scientists are launching a new satellite – the James Webb Telescopes – to study seven of the new worlds! But yet again NASA has not mentioned anything about Alien Beings potentially living on any of these planets and gave excuses as to why that may not be possible (as always!).

A spokesman for NASA said:

This is not the first and definitely not the last NASA announcement about their search for habitable planets, but one thing is for sure, these announcements appear to be happening more frequently – The drip feeding of disclosure is intensifying it appears?!

NASA know very well that we are NOT alone in the universe and are also aware that we are being visited by numerous different ET races.  Why do they not just tell us this then if that’s that case, I hear you shout?! Well, it appears that the Elite are scared of people like you and I knowing that there are advanced beings visiting us, as they know the kind of opportunities that will arise once the human race has accepted their existence – the Elites false borders and war mongering will be obliterated very very quickly!

The chances of NASA announcing on Monday is incredibly slim, but please ensure that you listen to their every word, as some where in-between the lines is the TRUTH about what they really know!!!

Last August, China launched, quite literally, one of its most ambitious communications projects ever: a “quantum satellite”, aimed at being able to offer a penultimately secure transfer of data across great distances between Earth and space.

As of Friday, June 17, 2017, it has been announced that China’s quantum satellite successfully relayed communication over a distance of 746 miles, marking a transmission that is 12 times further than any previous similar dispatch on record, Chinese state media agencies reported.

According to Reuters, “The scientists exploited the phenomenon of quantum entanglement, in which a particle can affect a far-off twin instantly, somehow overcoming the long distance separating them, a situation termed ‘spooky action at a distance’ by the Nobel-prize winning physicist Albert Einstein.”

In 1935, Einstein realized that objects can be moved or reoriented at a distance, even without physical contact with other objects. This unusual discovery (noted for its weirdness at the time by Einstein and his colleagues) led to development of the EPR paradox, which Einstein introduced shortly thereafter with Boris Poldolsky and Nathan Rosen.

In 2013, according to research conducted by Professor Juan Yin at China’s University of Science and Technology in Shanghai, quantum entanglement dynamics allows transfer of information at speeds at least 10,000 times faster than the speed of light.

Xinhua reported that the technology currently represents “the only way to establish secure keys between two distant locations on earth without relying on trustful relay,” according to lead scientist Pan Jianwei, of China’s Quantum Experiments at Space Scale, or QUESS.

Earlier in June, the Pentagon acknowledged a statement that China’s quantum satellite represents, “a notable advance in cryptography research.” Borrowing from Neil Armstrong’s famous quote, China’s success with the quantum satellite represents “one small step” for communication, for now at least.

In the future, this innovation may represent the first significant advancement toward global networks of secure, speedy communications occurring at the quantum level.

MYSTERIEUZE ZAKEN ROND DE TEMPELBERG, ISRAEL ( VIDEO )

Eén van de meest spraakmakende en ook ontzagwekkende plekken ter wereld is de Tempelberg in Jeruzalem. 

Laat er nu precies op die plek de afgelopen jaren zich een aantal vreemde zaken hebben voorgedaan die verband kunnen houden met CERN of met de buitenaardse Goden. 

Voor diegenen die niet weten wat de Tempelberg is een kleine samenvatting.

De Tempelberg of de berg Moria, door joden Har ha-Bayit en door moslims Haram al-Sharif genoemd, is een heuvel in het oostelijk deel van de door Israël bezette en geannexeerde oude stad Jeruzalem (in Oost-Jeruzalem), die voor elk van de drie abrahamitische religies (jodendom, christendom en islam) van groot belang is. De Haram es-Sharif wordt beheerd door een islamitische waqf, een religieuze stichting. 

De bovenzijde van de berg is onder Herodes de Grote vlak gemaakt en vormt een plein met een oppervlakte van ongeveer 15 hectare. Midden op dit tempelplein staat de Rotskoepel, en aan de zuidzijde de Al-Aqsamoskee, gebouwd door de Omajjaden. Tevens bevinden zich hier meerdere islamitische bouwwerken, waaronder de Dome of the Chain, de Kettingkoepel. 

De Westmuur (ook wel Klaagmuur genoemd) is een gedeelte van de westelijke muur dat het plateau omringt onder het niveau van het tempelplein en vormt mede het fundament waarop de Rotskoepel en de Al-Aqsamoskee staan. Vanaf het plein aan de Westmuur, waar tot 1967 de Marokkaanse wijk lag, loopt nu de houten Mughrabibrug omhoog, vanwaar men via de Mughrabipoort toegang heeft tot het tempelplein. Voor niet-moslims is dit de enige manier om de Tempelberg te bereiken. 

Vorig jaar bezocht een vrouw deze Tempelberg en zij zag een paar merkwaardige dingen in de lucht en niet alleen dat, ze kreeg er ook een heel akelig gevoel bij. 

Ze maakte een aantal foto’s en zegt dat ze niet alleen een soort vreemde cirkelvormige wolk ontdekte, maar ook drie verschillende zonnen zag.

Van de drie “zonnen” die zij zag lijkt de kleinste op een lensflare, maar naast de zon is inderdaad een tweede lichtbron te zien en ook zie je de contouren van een soort cirkelvormige chemtrail. (Redactie: De dame verklaart in de video dat ze dingen met het blote oog zag maar we zijn er niet zeker van of dat ook met deze 3 zonnen het geval was.)

In de onderstaande video doet de vrouw haar verhaal en vertelt de verslaggever dat zij ervan overtuigd is dat we hier te maken hebben met een fenomeen dat waarschijnlijk is veroorzaakt door CERN omdat zij nu ook beschikken over een soort filiaal in Jordanië, Sesame genaamd. 

In het kader van de samenwerking met CERN claimt zij verder dat de koning van Jordanië een enorme generator heeft geïnstalleerd op de Tempelberg, waarvan zij zegt dat deze ook een rol speelt in de totstandkoming van de taferelen in de lucht. 

Het is een bizarre situatie rondom die Tempelberg, want de koning van Jordanië zou dit inderdaad kunnen doen. 

Net als de andere wijken van de Oude Stad in Oost-Jeruzalem, heeft Israël het gebied van de Tempelberg geannexeerd. Het beheer ervan is gebleven bij de Jordaanse islamitische waqf, een religieuze stichting. In 1988 erkende Israël de bevoegdheid van koning Hoessein van Jordanië om het toezicht op de heiligdommen op de Tempelberg te blijven behouden.

 

Dat CERN een honderd procent satanisch instituut is dat heel goed in staat zou zijn om bovengenoemde effecten te veroorzaken, staat buiten kijf. 

Maar, gezien de bijzondere locatie is er wellicht ook nog een andere mogelijkheid en dat is dat er misschien toch ook een verband bestaat met de Goden uit de oudheid. Deze Goden, de Anunnaki, die nu met de nadering van hun planeet Nibirusteeds dichter in onze buurt komen.

Volgens Nancy Lieder waren de piramides navigatiebakens voor de Annunaki en het is dan ook geen toeval dat deze piramides met de komst van Nibiru de afgelopen jaren weer tot leven zijn gekomen. 

Op een bijzondere manier, want verschillende keren zijn er de laatste jaren opnames gemaakt van piramides die een felle lichtstraal de hemel insturen zoals de volgende:

Heeft de Tempelberg misschien in een ver verleden ook een rol gespeeld bij de aanwezigheid van de Goden op aarde. Wordt er ook in de Tempelberg iets geactiveerd, net zoals bij de piramides? 

In 2011 vond er nog een merkwaardig voorval plaats op de Tempelberg. Een gebeurtenis die door talloze mensen is gezien en vastgelegd en waarvan de mainstream-media niet wisten hoe snel ze dit tot hoax moesten verklaren. 

Op 28 januari 2011 daalde ’s avonds een UFO neer boven de Rotskoepel op de berg en schoot even later met een onvoorstelbare snelheid weer de lucht in. 

Voor de mainstream wereld zou het hier gaan om een hoax, in elkaar gezet door iemand die met zijn video zoveel mogelijk bezoekers wilde trekken om hiermee geld te verdienen, maar de werkelijkheid ligt ook hier zoals zo vaak wat anders. 

Er is namelijk niet één opname van dit fenomeen gemaakt, maar meerdere, door verschillende mensen en vanaf verschillende posities. De kans dat deze opnames echt zijn, is dan ook veel groter dan dat ze allemaal nep zouden zijn.
