DISCOVERED: MYSTERIOUS ARTIFACTS DEPICTING AN ANCIENT SPACESHIP

There are many mysterious artifacts that have been found around the world which resembles spaceships - but they date back to thousands of years ago. Intriguing, is it not? The first on the list is the most recently discovered, named "Toprakkale Space Shuttle".

It was only recently discovered after 25 years in storage at the Istanbul Archaeology Museum, which has caused many scientists and archaeologists to question its authenticity. It is, however, said to be dated back 2,500 years ago. The "spaceship" is a detailed sculpture from the kingdom of Urartu, and it specifically shows four thrusters that surround one large one, and a pilot seat in the front, very much like the modern jets we have today.

TOPRAKKALE'S SPACE SHUTTLE

The second on the list is Ezekiel's Spaceships - NASA engineer Josef Blumrich much was out to disprove the conspiracy that the prophet Ezekiel saw an "alien spaceship" rather than a vision of God. However, he later changed his stance on the issue and believed the very stand he once set out to destroy - that Ezekiel saw an "alien spaceship". He later then published his theory in a book, called "The Spaceships of Ezekiel" in 1974. His engineering background coupled with his analysis of the Bible led him to draw detailed figures of the "alien spaceship", which was also published into the book.

The last alien spaceship on the list is The Sibiu Manuscript. Back in 1961, a professor at the University of Bucharest in Romania rediscovered this ancient manuscript, which was a document that was 450 pages long that was created back in 1570 with encompasses several hundred years of history within the region where it was from. The manuscript, although dating back hundred of years ago, had shockingly detailed steps that described solid-fueled manned-rockets. A description of a successful launch of a giant "flying javelin" was also included in the manuscript.

This is not all that has been found regarding "ancient" spaceships that civilizations before us might have already discovered.

Roswell conspiracy theory ‘expert’ claims UFO crash did happen and government document proves it

A PARANORMAL radio show host insists she has seen a top secret report on Roswell, which proves the alleged incident did occur.

Tom Michael The Sun

A ROSWELL conspiracy theory “expert” has claimed to have found proof the supposed UFO crash really did happen.

Heather Wade insists she has got her hands on an “ultra top secret” report confirming the fabled alien encounter in the desert of New Mexico, USA, was real, The Sun reported.

Wade says she got the US Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) document from an unnamed source, according to The Express.

She claims the dossier details how the UFO came down on July 2 or 3, 1947.

Wade — who hosts a late night online radio show focusing on the paranormal — claims the documents describe how four decomposing alien bodies were found two miles from the crash site a week later.

The radio host said she passed the report on to Stanton Friedman — a nuclear physicist who is also a Roswell believer and investigator.

All four aliens died in the crash.

The supposed government report states: “Aerial reconnaissance discovered that four small human-like beings had apparently ejected from the craft at some point before it exploded. “These had fallen to earth at least two miles east of the crash site where the wreckage was located.

“All of the four alien crew members were dead and badly decomposed.”

A statement on the website for her radio show, Midnight in the Desert, reads: “Heather Wade received documents last night from a trusted source.

“She immediately had Stanton Friedman take a look at these documents who said, ‘I have never seen anything like this, this is new MJ12 information.’

“Stanton Friedman is going to continue examining these documents for authenticity, but at this time we can find no evidence of forgery.”

This story was first published on The Sun.

A UFO Rises Into An Apparent Portal And Disappears

A UFO Rises Into An Apparent Portal And Disappears

portal-ufo

A UFO vanishes into a portal looking thing in the sky in an interesting video that has been viewed more than a million online.

The Facebook page “I’m From Denver” posted the video on the popular social networking website claiming that the unidentified flying object appeared over southern Colorado.

The clip shows a strange cluster of lights forming an odd shape. As the lights rise, a seemingly squared portal opens up in the night sky. They then disappear without a trace.

Many believe that the recording is one of the most compelling footages showing proof of UFO activity. However, several others also think that it is likely faked deliberately using CGI technology.

The video does not say exactly where in Southern Colorado the video was recorded, so it is quite difficult to verify the claim with local authorities whether residents noticed something that looked unusual in the sky and caused alarm. Additionally, no local news media picked up the story even after the video made the rounds online.

However, experts say that it is not possible to prove or disprove the video without knowing more on what and where exactly it is taken because the video is blurry.

Hillary Clinton Would Have Revealed The Truth

Hillary Clinton Would Have Revealed The Truth

hillary-clinton

If Hillary Clinton made to the White House, she would likely reveal aliens exist, according to the man who made a shocking documentary that made the rounds online.

Dr Steven Greer, who has been advocating governments around the world to admit intelligent aliens are visiting Earth, is convinced Mrs Clinton knows more what she already revealed to the public.

The Unacknowledged documentary film debuted on iTunes on May 9 and instantly became the number one digital documentary worldwide.

Breaking Bad’s Giancarlo Esposito narrates the documentary under the direction of Michael Mazzola. Dr Greer received $700,000 or around £543,000 through crowd funding to make the film.

Mrs Clinton and her campaign manager Mr John Podesta made references to the issue of UFOs and aliens during her unsuccessful presidential campaign. She even promised to form a task force and send them to Area 51 US Air Force base in Nevada to know what is going on there. Many conspiracy theorists believe that alien remains and UFO debris are stored in the facility.

Dr Greer thinks that Mrs Clinton is aware of the issue, however, hopes that the truth would come out were dashed with the victory of President Donald Trump, who remained silent on the subject.

Watch – A UFO Flying In Circles In The UK Sky Leaves A Trail Of Bright Light

ufo-sighting

An unidentified flying object has been captured on camera circling in the sky above a hill on the Longleat Estate in Wiltshire. A resident in a nearby Frome, Somerset caught the strange event on camera. The video shows an apparent UFO circling over National Trust-owned Cley Hill, creating a trail behind it in a blazing white.

The area near Warminster town has been a UFO hotspot. The local who saw this particular mysterious object noted that it had been seen several times already.

The witness did not discount the probability that it was a drone with an amazing flame effect tail or something. He said that it had been spotted a few times locally.

The clip has caught the attention among UFO enthusiasts online, especially those who study UFO sighting videos from around the world.

The footage was then posted to YouTube by the well-known alien conspiracy YouTube channel. The channel said that they had never seen anything like it before – the unique circular movement and the ravishing light.

Some sceptical viewers of the video suggested it could be an acrobatic aeroplane or a meteor.

Bezitten kristallen schedels bijzondere krachten?

kris-1140.jpg?1497538648

Bezitten kristallen schedels bijzondere krachten?

At an ancient site of human sacrifice in China, war captives may have been kept as slaves for years before they were killed, a new study finds.

Archaeologists have previously uncovered evidence of ritual human sacrifice in many ancient societies, including the ancient Greeks, the Vikings, the ancient Maya, and the Aztecs and the Incas, as well as in ancient China. [Read more about the doomed lives.]

An astronomer thinks he's pinpointed the source of a mysterious radio signal from space: a passing comet that nobody knew about. But his colleagues said they're still skeptical of the explanation, noting that comets don't emit radio waves in the right way.

Others aren't so sure. "We do not believe the two-comets theory can explain the Wow! signal," Jerry Ehman, the astronomer who discovered the Wow! signal in 1977, told Live Science. [Read more about the 'WOW!' signal.]

A new drug can give human skin a "natural" tan — it activates the same process that causes skin to darken in the sun, without exposure to harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays, according to early research.

Much more research is needed to determine if the drug is safe before it could be used in people, the researchers said. But they are hopeful that the drug might actually protect people against skin cancer, because the presence of melanin in the skin is linked with a lower risk of skin cancer. [Read more about sunless tanning.]

A Chinese satellite has split pairs of "entangled photons" and transmitted them to separate ground stations 745 miles (1,200 kilometers) apart, smashing the previous distance record for such a feat and opening new possibilities in quantum communication.

Quantum entanglement has interesting applications for testing the fundamental laws of physics, but also for creating exceptionally secure communication systems, scientists have said. That's because quantum mechanics states that measuring a quantum system inevitably disturbs it, so any attempt to eavesdrop is impossible to hide. [Read more about hack-proof communications.]

A new wireless power system could help people avoid the inevitable jumbled mess of tangled cords and offer a more efficient way to charge electric vehicles on the go, according to a new study.

The problem lies in the design of these wireless power systems. They typically consist of a source, which is the charging pad, and a receiver, which could be a phone or an electric car. [Read more about wired roads.]

More Alien Worlds! NASA to Announce New Exoplanet Finds Monday
NASA's Kepler space telescope has discovered thousands of planets orbiting distant stars.

NASA will announce the latest crop of planet discoveries from the Kepler Space Telescope during a briefing Monday morning (June 19).

The briefing will be at 11 a.m. EDT (1500 GMT) during the Kepler Science Conference at NASA's Ames Research Center in California. You can watch the exoplanet announcement here, courtesy of NASA TV. NASA will livestream the conference here: http://www.nasa.gov/live.

The briefing will incude a panel of four experts, according to a statement by NASA: Mario Perez, Kepler program scientist in the Astrophysics Division of NASA's Science Mission Directorate in Washington; Susan Thompson, Kepler research scientist at the SETI Institute in Mountain View, California; Benjamin Fulton, doctoral candidate at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and the California Institute of Technology; and Courtney Dressing, NASA Sagan Fellow at the California Institute of Technology. A question-and-answer session will follow. [Gallery: A World of Kepler Planets]

Kepler has been hunting for extrasolar planets since its launch in 2009. This latest set of exoplanet candidates will use a more complete data set than ever before, with analysis of greater sophistication. The spacecraft started a new mission, called K2, after the failure of two reaction wheels that stabilized the spacecraft in 2013. The K2 mission was a modified version of the original planet-hunting mandate, seeking worlds around relatively nearby red dwarf stars.

Newfound exoplanets are often listed as candidates because it can take time to verify that they are actually there. Kepler finds planets by observing the light of stars over a period of time, using a process called the transit method. If the light dims, then it's possible a planet passed in front of it. The evidence for an exoplanet is considered stronger if the light dims more than once on a predictable schedule, indicating that something is in orbit around the star.

Kepler was the first mission capable of seeing planets the size of Earth around other stars in the "habitable zone" — the region at a distance from a star where liquid water could exist without freezing or boiling away immediately.

According to NASA, thus far Kepler has found 4,496 exoplanet candidates. Some 2,335 have been confirmed and 21 are Earth-size planets in the habitable zone. Since the mission was renamed K2, an additional 520 exoplanet candidates have been found, with 148 confirmed.

But the documents have been dismissed as fake by British UFO investigator Nick Redfern.

He said with the 70th anniversary of the Roswell incident next month the timing was too suspicious.

He said on Facebook: "While I don't know who faked those new MJ12 documents, there's not a chance this is disinformation by a government agency.

"This is probably the work of someone in Ufology, who is just waiting for certain UFO researchers to endorse the documents – and then the hoaxer will come forward and explain how and why he did it."

Why We Should Look For Alien Megastructures Around Pulsars

Why We Should Look For Alien Megastructures Around Pulsars

19g01ous5zg09jpg.jpg

Image: NASA

Some day in the far future, it’s possible our descendants will kick it up a notch and wrap the entire Sun in a massive solar-collecting shell known as a Dyson Sphere. It’s also possible that some advanced alien civilizations have already gone this route, which is why some SETI folks are on the lookout for these hypothetical objects. But a new study proposes that aliens are more likely to build megastructures around pulsars than stars—and importantly, we should be able to detect these objects from Earth using current technology.

When Freeman Dyson came up with his mind-altering idea back in 1959, he wasn’t imagining an energy solution for future humans. Instead, he was thinking about aliens, and the kinds of things we should be looking for to finally prove they actually exist. Today, the search for alien megastructures is referred to as Dysonian SETI, and we haven’t found anything yet (though we’ve had some false signals).

Conceptually, Dyson’s hypothetical sphere makes a lot of sense, particularly for advanced civilizations with a huge appetite for energy. By constructing a thin spherical shell around its sun, a civilization could capture oodles of solar energy that would otherwise bleed uselessly into space.

Article preview thumbnailHow to Measure the Power of Alien Civilizations Using the Kardashev Scale

We have yet to make contact with an extraterrestrial civilization. If they're out there — and…

Graduating to a Type 2 Kardashev civilization sounds all good and well, but constructing—and maintaining—a megastructure of this scale won’t be easy. The shell itself would be located around one AU from the host star (that’s the average distance the Earth orbits the Sun). Consequently, the amount of material required to build a Dyson Sphere would be literally astronomical, and some experts have speculated that, if we were to ever build a Dyson Sphere, we’d have to dismantle Mercury, and possibly even Venus and the Asteroid Belt. Unfortunately, this could disrupt the delicate gravitational balance within the Solar System, leading to downstream consequences like planet-on-planet collisions. Other challenges exist as well, such as maintaining the shape and position of the shell, and repairing the endless damage wrought to the structure by incoming asteroids and comets.

It’s for these and other reasons that Zaza Osmanov, an astronomer from the Free University of Tbilisi, believes that Dyson Spheres aren’t the way to go. In a paper he published last year in the International Journal of Astrobiology, Osmanov said that Dyson Spheres are “unrealistically massive and cannot be considered seriously,” and that aliens (or future humans for that matter) are more likely to build Dyson Rings—a stripped down version of a Dyson Sphere. What’s more, he said aliens weren’t likely to construct these solar-collecting rings around stars, but pulsars instead. Now, in a follow-up study to this first paper, Osmanov is arguing that we should be able to detect these structures from Earth.

Osmanov’s idea is actually kind of awesome. Pulsars are rapidly rotating neutron stars or white dwarfs that emit a concentrated beam of electromagnetic radiation. From our vantage point on Earth, we can only see pulsars if their beams are pointing directly at us. Pulsars have short and highly regular rotational periods, which is why they blink. (Fun fact: When the first pulsar was discovered in 1967, astronomers thought they had stumbled upon an alien intelligence—they even named it LGM, which stands for Little Green Men.)

According to Osmanov, advanced alien civilizations are likely to exploit this high-power celestial phenomenon. Extending Dyson’s concept to pulsars, he says a ring of solar panels could be constructed around a slowly-rotating pulsar (spinning around about once every half second, so not that slow) at a distance of around nine million miles, or roughly one-third of the distance between Mercury and our Sun. He estimates that the Dyson Ring would be exposed to temperatures of around 117 degrees C (242 degrees F), which would make the object visible to observers on Earth in the infrared (IR) band.

Consequently, and assuming these objects actually exist, Osmanov says we could detect these Dyson rings from Earth using existing telescopes, such as the Very Large Telescope Interferometer (VLTI), the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE), and in future, the James Webb Space Telescope. “The search of infrared rings is quite promising for distances up to [652 lightyears], where one will be able to monitor potentially 64 [known] pulsars by using the IR instruments,” he writes in the study. “Observation of distant pulsars [up to 3,262 lightyears]... will significantly increase the total number of potential objects to [around] 1,600, but at this moment the UV instruments cannot provide such a level of sensitivity.”

“This is pretty cool,” Milan M. Ćirković, an astronomer and astrobiologist at the Astronomical Observatory of Belgrade, told Gizmodo. “I do agree that they are detectable in principle... and this study is worthy of attention just for that. Whether [the construction of Dyson Rings around pulsars] is likely to happen depends on too many issues, including perhaps the most intriguing one, namely what other [kinds]... of megastructures could we expect from a Type 2 civilization that has capacity and will to build pulsar rings.”

Anders Sandberg, a senior research fellow at Oxford University’s Future of Humanity Institute, likes Osmanov’s idea, but he’s still a big believer in good ol’ fashion Dyson spheres.

“For stars, a Dyson swarm [a variation of the Dyson sphere] can pick up most of the energy because the star shines evenly in all directions,” Sandberg told Gizmodo. “For a pulsar there is not much light, but indeed a big electromagnetic field with a lot of directionality one can capture and use using much smaller rings. Osmanov is right in that this requires less material, but it is not clear why this would matter much. One could build a thin yet energy-collecting Dyson swarm out of a few large asteroids in the solar system. If you have self-replicating [robotic] technology, scale is not a problem, and if you lack it you will struggle to build even a Dyson ring.”

Sandberg also says that Dysonian superstructures don’t have to be located in a star system’s habitable zone, and that we should look for alien megastructures in other regions of space as well.

“But it makes sense to look at pulsars to see if there is something there: They are rare enough to stand out—and it has been suggested that SETI should look near them for this very reason—and they might have accessible energy sources useful in ways normal Dyson swarms aren’t,” he said.

So what the hell are we waiting for? Time for someone with access to an IR-scanning telescope to hone in on on this rather small set of candidate objects. Who knows, the celestial phenomena we once thought were signs of alien intelligence may in fact be home to ET—and possibly a glimpse into our very own future.

'ROSWELL PROOF' Is alleged US DIA leak that proves 'alien UFO crashed' fact or fiction?

'ROSWELL PROOF' Is alleged US DIA leak that proves 'alien UFO crashed' fact or fiction?

UFO experts have waded into a debate about a newly released document which purports to be US Government proof that the Roswell UFO crash actually happened.

Roswell-UFO
GETTY*Midnight in the Desert

A page from the document that many in the UFO community believe is a blatant hoax.

This week Express.co.uk revealed that a report had surfaced, allegedly leaked from the US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), which confirmed the legendary Roswell UFO crash happened, dead aliens were found, and there was a Government cover up.

Roswell has been at the heart of the UFO scene since July 1947 when the military sensationally announced in a press release it had found the remains of a crashed flying saucer in the desert nearby.

But the following day it retracted the statement, saying it was in fact a damaged US Air Force air balloon.

Witnesses later came forward to say there had been alien bodies within the "crashed craft", which along with the wreckage were then taken to a top-secret US military base.

The 47-page dossier, said to be drafted in the 1980s, contains a six-page report on the Roswell incident, detailing how the UFO came down on July 2 or 3 1947, and four decomposing alien bodies were recovered two miles from the crash site a week later.

So far the consensus among UFO experts seems to be that the report is nothing but an elaborate hoax.

Nick Pope, who investigated the UFO phenomena for the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) until 2009, described them as "fake with a capital F".

Mr Pope, who now speaks at UFO conferences across the globe, told Express.co.uk: "These documents are completely and utterly bogus.

"As with previous such documents that have surfaced in the US, I suspect they've been hoaxed by someone on the fringes of the UFO community, playing an elaborate practical joke to see if they can put one over on the true believers."

He spent 21 years in the MoD and said he knew how genuine documents were prepared.

He said: "The language and the wider Œfeel¹ of these UFO documents is just plain wrong.

"It¹s as if someone was playing buzzword bingo with all the words and phrases that excite UFO believers, and throwing in some New Age philosophy for good measure.

"Anyone sitting on genuine documents of this nature who really wanted to get the story out, I suspect, would have sent them to the New York Times, the Washington Post, or WikiLeaks, and not to a radio show host in the UFO community.

But there are those who think the US Government was actually behind it.

Tom Livesey, posted on Mr Randle's blog: "I hope Nick Redfern is wrong and that this is disinformation not a hoax.

"With documents such as this I suspect a fishing exercise, whereby people on the other side - who may be as perplexed as we are - put information out to see if the internet can come up with answers through pooled intelligence.

"The documents must be poorly written and obviously fake, or disclosure would actually occur which is not the intent."

Heather Wade, host of US late-night online paranormal radio show Midnight in the Desert, claims to have obtained the document from a known but unnamed military source who sat on them for years.

She wrote on her website it had been passed to nuclear physicist Stanton Friedman, who is a long term Roswell believer and Roswell investigator, and so far he had reported nothing to say they were faked.

A statement on the midnightinthedesert.com website said: "Heather Wade received documents last night from a trusted source.

"She immediately had Stanton Friedman take a look at these documents who said, 'I have never seen anything like this.'

"Stanton Friedman is going to continue examining these documents for authenticity, but at this time we can find no evidence of forgery."

Nigel Watson, author of the UFO Investigations Manual, said previous "majestic 12" documents which surfaced were regarded as fake.

But, he was impressed by the lengths any hoaxer went to if the new report was bogus.

He added: "The amount of documentation and the details in them, including this 'latest'

document, does show a considerable amount of effort and knowledge has been expended to prove the presence of aliens in our midst."

He even floated the conspiracy theory of Government insiders releasing the false documents.

He added: "It could be part of a US government disinformation project or a hoax to try to smoke out the truth from the authorities.

"Certainly they are more fake than fact."

UFO publisher Philip Mantle claimed it was irrefutable they were fake, as they referred to a fictitious location in Nevada.

He posted on Facebook: "The final nail in the coffin is. . . according to these documents, the SECRET MJ-12 HQ is under Flat Rock, Nevada, a fictional town invented for Michael Crichton's "Andromeda Strain" novel!"

British UFO investigator Nick Redfern is convinced they are fake, and not part of a government misinformation conspiracy.

He said on Facebook: "While I don't know who faked those new MJ12 documents, there's not a chance this is disinformation by a government agency.

"This is probably the work of someone in Ufology, who is just waiting for certain UFO researchers to endorse the documents - and then the hoaxer will come forward and explain how and why he did it."

He said with the 70th anniversary of the Roswell incident next month it was perfect timing.

He added: "I am looking forward to seeing certain ufological fence-sitters who will 100 percent refuse to denounce the documents.

"Why won't they denounce them? Because they fear they won't get booked at next year's conference here, or conference there, and are fearful of not being in with the 'in-crowd' of Ufology anymore."

Kevin Randle, a US Ufologist, who worked at length on the Roswell case, said they were fake in a lengthy blog post that tore apart discrepancies in them.

He said: "The writing does not sound as if it came from a government source, and without names, without government agencies, without any way to check things out, this just doesn¹t seem to be authentic."

Mr Randle blogged about Ms Wade¹s source writing: "I did ask Heather Wade about the source, or sources, and she didn¹t give me names, only that they were ex-military and had possessed the documents for a very long time.

"She didn¹t know which government agency had originated them, and there seemed no way to verify them through government sources."

The Paradigm Research Group (PRG), set up to lobby the US Government to end an alleged truth embargo which covers up the existence of aliens on Earth, is sitting on the fence.

It has described the documents as important, but accepts they could be fake.

It released a statement saying: "Over the coming weeks PRG will work closely with leading researchers into the history of the truth embargo and ET related government documents to determine the quality of this evidence."

It gave four possible explanations:

*Government disinformation

*Fully legitimate government documents

*A hoax by a debunker

*A hoax by a believer

It added: "The first two options are the most likely and about equal in probability."

Steve Bassett, PRG founder, later said on Facebook: "Whatever the status of this document - real, hoax or disinformation - PRG's principal concern is that top researchers in

the extraterrestrial phenomena research field be the first to assess this document and to the extent possible run it to ground before the debunkers and trolls do their thing.

"The message is this to either government disinformation entities or knucklehead hoaxers: this is not 1960 or 1970 or 1980 or 1990.

"It is 2017 and disinformation and hoaxes will be engaged immediately and your misguided effort will amount to little."

UFO sighting? Video purportedly showing massive light over Paris raises questions

Beam me up, Jean Paul!

A new video has appeared of what was claimed to be a cigar-shaped ship hovering over Paris, France, which UFO watchers say is potentially the same object spotted over China and Australia several years ago.

It is unclear if the object -- which the video shows beaming light down on the ground -- is a hoax. The video was posted to YouTube by Secureteam10, a conspiracy channel that often posts UFO sightings.

Tyler Glockner, who runs Secureteam10, said on the video that he was unable to find the original recording of the video and wondererd aloud whether it could be a hoax.

THIS TERRIFYING ROBOT CAN DRILL THROUGH YOUR SKULL IN 2 MINUTES -- AND THAT'S A GOOD THING

In a separate video, the conspiracy channel noted that the Paris sighting is similar to ones seen in China and Australia in recent years.

In 2010, there was one incident which caused a Chinese airport to be shut down temporarily.

Glockner also noted that another incident in 2014 over the Gold Coast of Australia looked similar to the new video from Paris.

NAMED: Secret US team of scientists and military who ‘experimented on aliens and UFOs’

NAMED: Secret US team of scientists and military who ‘experimented on aliens and UFOs’

MEMBERS of an alleged top secret team of scientists and US military bosses who experimented on crashed flying saucers and dead aliens have been "named."

UFO-Majestic-12

GETTY*YouTube

The 12 late scientists and officials who have been named as belonging the alleged Majestic-12 group.

The identities of the late officials are revealed in what conspiracists say is a leaked document from the US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) from the Eighties.

Yesterday, Express.co.uk revealed how the 47-page alleged "above top secret" file had been released and contained claims the 1947 Roswell UFO crash did happen, dead aliens were found and there was a major cover up to hide the truth.

The document is said to have been given to Heather Wade, host of US late-night online paranormal radio show Midnight in the Desert, from a known source who has not been named.

Many UFO experts have branded the document fake, but the release has set the conspiracy theory world on fire, with others convinced it could be genuine.

The document claims a highly secretive team of top scientists, government officials and military leaders - all now dead - was set up in the wake of the Roswell incident to investigate the "captured flying sauce remains" and "four dead aliens" and assess the risk to the planet of "visiting aliens".

The document claims the group was called Majestic 12 and set up on the orders of President Harry S Truman, in the wake of Roswell.

Part of the document, a four page report, said to have been prepared on January 8, 1989, claims to be a preliminary briefing about Majestic 12.

The report says the group had the remains of seven crashed flying saucers and 27 aliens.

Seasoned UFO expert and nuclear physicist Stanton Friedman is investigating the authenticity of the document and is said to believe it could be genuine.

The Paridigm Research Group (PRG) which tries to pressure the White House to disclose documents about UFOs believes the report could be genuine, but accepts it could also be fake.

Express.co.uk has contacted the DIA and awaits a response.

Encrypted “Alien” Radio Signal Decrypted via Social Media

Encrypted “Alien” Radio Signal Decrypted via Social Media

One of the earliest searches for signals indicative of extraterrestrial intelligence was made in 1960 with this 26-meter antenna at Greenbank Virginia.4( Photo courtesy National Radio Astronomy Observatory / Associated Universities, Inc. / NSF.

One of the more intriguing unsolved modern mysteries is the fast radio burst (FRB) phenomenon. Over the last several years, radio telescopes on Earth have been detecting more and more very brief, very powerful radio signals which originate from deep space. While astronomers have been able to locate the source of several of these signals, the exact mechanisms of their production remain a mystery. Of course, it has been speculated that they might be attempts at communication made by advanced alien races, or even that they might be a form of alien spacecraft propulsion for deep-space travel.

While it would be nice if these signals were indeed being beamed at us by an alien race, there are possible natural explanations.

Whatever these radio bursts happen to be, astronomers believe that similar signals might indeed be used for communication across vast distances of space. While we haven’t determined that any of them might be a collect call from deep space, one astrophysicist has just published a study which sought to determine whether such signals could indeed encrypt information and if our squishy little human brains could decode them. Turns out we can – with the help of social media, naturally. It is the weird future, after all.

And why shouldn’t an entire species communicate directly to another? Because not everyone has access the internet yet, that’s why.

This crowdsourced experiment was conceived by Rene Heller from the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research, who encrypted seven different pages of information into a simulated alien fast radio burst signal, which can be heard here. The signal’s electromagnetic frequency was set to 452.13 MHz, a figure derived from multiplying pi by the emission frequency of neutral hydrogen atoms. That same frequency was used in Carl Sagan’s Contact, as the values are commonly found throughout the universe. Heller released the message to social media and challenged the public to decrypt it, calling his experiment the “SETI Decrypt Challenge.” The following rules were attached:

Suppose a telescope on Earth receives a series of pulses from a fixed, unresolved source beyond the solar system. The source is a star about 50 light years from Earth. The pulses are in the form of short/long signals and they are received in a very narrow band around an electromagnetic frequency of 452.12919 MHz. A computer algorithm identifies the artificial nature of the pulses. It turns out the pulses carry a message. The pulses signify binary digits. Suppose further that you were, by whatsoever reason, put in charge of decoding this message.

If you successfully decrypted the message, you should be able to answer the following questions: What is the typical body height of our interstellar counterparts? What is their typical lifetime? What is the scale of the devices they used to submit their message? Since when have they been communicating interstellar? What kind of object do they live on? How old is their stellar system?

Within just a month, Heller was greeted with a high number of successful decryptions, particularly after the challenge was posted to Reddit. 300 complete replies were received, out of which 66 contain correct solutions, half of which appeared to be derived independently without help. The majority of the correct responses were submitted from the two coasts of the United States and western Europe. When decrypted, the message consists of a binary code which specifies dimensions of a grid. When the message’s data are plugged into the grid, it creates a picture:

The images are composed of 0s and 1s and explain basic facts about an “alien” race.

The image shows the first 10,000 prime numbers, a grey alien, a sine wave, the exomoon Kepler 22b, and an image of the Square Kilometer Array telescope, chosen to simulate the device used by the “alien civilization” which sent the message. The message is similar to the Arecibo message, a radio signal designed in part by Carl Sagan which was beamed from Earth to a nearby star cluster in 1974. The experiment’s author is hopeful that these results demonstrate the power of social media in decrypting possible future messages from alien civilizations. That is, if governments decide to let this kind of discovery to be made public at all.

SETI scientists argue “Wow! Signal” still unidentified despite new report

In 1977, scientists working on the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) recorded an unusually strong radio signal, the origin of which many scientists believe has not been explained. While the most exotic theory is that the signal is a call from ET, a paper published in the Journal of the Washington Academy of Sciences claims the origins of the signal is much more mundane. They think a comet or two caused it. SETI scientists, including the senior astronomer at the SETI Institute, Seth Shostak, and the man who discovered the signal, disagree.

Seth Shostak

Seth Shostak

As Shostak puts it in a recent article, the “Wow! Signal” is in the “A-List” of signals recorded by scientists that may potentially have been generated by an intelligent extraterrestrial civilization. It is an exclusive list. Shostak did not mention how long the list is, but it can be argued the “Wow! Signal” is the only signal on that list.

In August of 1977, a signal was captured by a radio telescope called Big Ear at Ohio State University. Upon discovering the signal while reviewing the logs, astronomer Jerry Ehman circled it on the computer printout and wrote “Wow!” off to the side.

The signal was very strong, and according to Shostak, “It had all the characteristics one would anticipate from a signal produced by a deep space transmitter.”

However, despite efforts to capture the signal a second time, it was never heard again.

“So the WOW signal seemed destined to be an enduring mystery of the universe – maybe it really was ET launching a signal in our direction, a whistle that was either very short or very intermittent,” Shostak wrote. “Then again, perhaps it was something else…”

This is where the new paper in the Journal of the Washington Academy of Sciences comes in. The paper is authored by Antonio Paris and Evan Davies. Interestingly, Paris, an astronomer at St. Petersburg College in Florida, also has an interest in UFOs. In fact, he was been an investigator for the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), and has lectured on the topic at several UFO conferences.

A scan of a color copy of the original computer printout, taken several years after the 1977 arrival of the "Wow!" signal. It was a strong narrowband radio signal detected by Jerry R. Ehman on August 15, 1977, while he was working on a SETI project at the Big Ear radio telescope of The Ohio State University. The signal appears to have come from an area of the sky with no stars or planets, northwest of the globular cluster M55. Image Credit: The Ohio State University Radio Observatory and the North American AstroPhysical Observatory (NAAPO).

Image Credit: The Ohio State University Radio Observatory and the North American AstroPhysical Observatory (NAAPO).

In the paper, the authors argue that the signal likely came from a comet or two that was not catalogued at the time the signal was detected. That would explain why Ehrman and others would not have known suspected the comet(s).

“Neutral hydrogen is well known for generating radio static at a frequency of 1420 MHz, which is indeed the spot on the dial where the Big Ear overheard the signal,” admits Shostak. However, he continues, “The comet hypothesis, in my opinion, doesn’t work.  To begin with, there’s the slightly dismaying fact that I’ve never heard of anyone measuring strong hydrogen signals from a comet, and I’ve spent a lot of time on radio telescopes tuned to 1420 MHz.”

Shostak also points out that there were two receivers that examined the area of the sky the signal was received. The second sweep, which was only 70 seconds later.

“But the WOW signal only appeared in one of the feeds,” Shostak continued. “Of course, that could be explained if the signal simply went off the air in the time between observation by the first and second feed.  Terrestrial interference could be compatible with this requirement, easy peasy.  And a signal from impatient aliens could too.”

Comets, on the other hand, do not turn on and off. They move slowly, and should have been detected in the second feed.

Ehman recently told Live Science in a recent interview that he does not buy the comet theory for the same reasons Shostak presented.

“We should have seen the source come through twice in about 3 minutes: one response lasting 72 seconds and a second response for 72 seconds following within about a minute and a half,” Ehman told Live Science. “We didn’t see the second one.”

Antonio Paris

Antonio Paris

Paris admits this is an issue. However, he suggested to Live Science that the telescope might not have detected the signal in the second feed due to an error with the telescope itself.

“There is some data out there to suggest the issue is at the telescope end and not the phenomenon itself,”Paris told Live Science.

So the mystery continues. However, Paris has not finished making his case. He plans to continue to observe comets and the reasons behind why they create the signals.

“There have been a handful of studies, but I suspect we are the first to specifically build a 10-meter radio telescope to specifically look at this type of solar system body,” he said.

OUR NEXT EVOLUTIONAL STAGE WILL BE THE CYBORG

OUR NEXT EVOLUTIONAL STAGE WILL BE THE CYBORG

Cyborgs – hybrid creatures forged from human beings and machines – have gradually been making the transition from science fiction staple into reality in the past decades.

Primarily, the use of robotic technology in human beings is used as a medical tool in the present day but as the technology improves it may be employed for a whole host of different reasons. This has led leading philosophers to suggest that the time has come to discuss the ethical implications of creating cyborg humans in the near future.

Most people do not tend to think of prosthetic limbs as the type of robotics which lead to the creation of cyborg humans. However, the latest technology in this field is far more advanced than the majority of people suspect. Carbon fiber and titanium prosthetic limbs are used as a matter of routine in the modern age and the vast majority of false limbs which are fitted today are fully functional.

RELATED ARTICLES

Prosthetic limbs have become so adept and dexterous recently that experts are even beginning to discuss whether they are more effective than organic limbs. Researchers have also created phenomenal robotic hands which can be triggered by the brain of the patients. Some of the most recent robotic hands produced even have a sense of touch.

Recently, robotic engineers have progressed beyond artificial limbs and have begun to dabble with the idea of implanting human beings with microchips. In recent months, there has been news that a company in Sweden has begun to implant its employees with microchips so that they can perform tasks such as opening doors with the wave of a hand. Even more ambitiously, the Tesla CEO Elon Musk is in the process of developing a so-called neural lace which will eventually be capable of connecting the human mind to electronic devices such as computers and smartphones.

Humanity is becoming more and more ambitious with its plans to push the boundaries of science and technology, particularly regarding space exploration. For many individuals, developing effective cyborg technology could be an essential step towards achieving these dreams. However, others believe that before cyborg technology goes too far that it is incredibly important to discuss the moral and legal questions posed by this next stage of human history.

Ethical philosophers are already beginning to question various aspects of life with cyborg human beings such as establishing safeguards to ensure that human beings cannot be hacked. There are also concerns that there could be troubling implications for the world’s military forces who might use the new developments in cyborg technology to create humans with exoskeletons.

It is very important to consider these questions now to make sure that this next stage in human development is a success and not a complete disaster

NASA: MARS AND THE EARTH HAVE MORE IN COMMON THAN WE THOUGHT

NASA: MARS AND THE EARTH HAVE MORE IN COMMON THAN WE THOUGHT

It looks like Earth and Mars have a lot more in common that what was first thought. This conclusion has been reached after NASA revealed photographs taken of Mars in an exploration that has lasted 12 years. The photographs were taken using the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter and it shows that Mars actually looks a lot like Earth.

The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter has captured many thousands of images and sent them back to scientists on Earth. The vibrant photographs have managed to capture everything from mineral hills on Mars to dust storms. The landscapes revealed in the photographs look like canyons or red deserts on Earth, which led to NASA saying that Earth and Mars has a lot in common.

The MRO was used by NASA so that scientists could get a much better understanding of the materials, dust, subsurface water and the weather on Mars. The website of NASA has been providing some stunning photos of Mars, including a mesa of 0.4 kilometers, the surface of Mars covered with materials that are of fine grain and which hide the bedrock and the Saheki Crater, which is 84 kilometers across.

The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter of NASA was first launched on 12 August 2005, and it went on a search to try to find evidence of water and whether or not it has persisted on Mars surface over a long period of time. Other missions to Mars have revealed that water flows over the surface of Mars, but it has been something of a mystery as to whether the water had been around for long enough to have provided a habitat for life on Mars.

It was said that the studies would help scientists to find out if there were deposits of minerals forming in the water over a length of time, along with detecting shorelines from ancient lakes and seas. NASA said that one of the cameras on the Orbiter was the biggest to have ever flown on a mission to a planet.

kurt russell aliens

Computer, file this under Reasons Why We Need To Clone Kurt Russell because we've never heard anyone tell a UFO story this convincingly.

In 1997, a UFO was sighted over Phoenix, Arizona that was reportedly seen by close to 20,000 people. The event, known in ufologist circles (they're a thing) as the Phoenix Lights Incident, has been thoroughly investigated and while official explanations have been offered, there is still a huge amount of skepticism surrounding the event and whether or not it was actually a UFO or - as the US Air Force claims - weather balloons.

One of the people who called in the sighting was an unidentified pilot who described seeing six bright lights over Phoenix, Arizona from his aircraft as he was travelling towards the runway. The air-traffic controller replied that he was showing no other aircraft on his radar - which only added to the mystery surrounding the event.

For years, ufologists have wondered who that unidentified pilot was - and it was Kurt Russell. According to Kurt, he never mentioned the word "alien", or "UFO", and merely called it in when his son, Oliver Hudson, pointed out the strange-looking lights.

Here's Kurt Russell telling his side of the story in a recent interview on BBC. Also, keep an eye on Chris Pratt's reaction as well.

Roswell conspiracy theory ‘expert’ claims UFO crash did happen and government document proves it

Roswell conspiracy theory ‘expert’ claims UFO crash did happen and government document proves it

A PARANORMAL radio show host insists she has seen a top secret report on Roswell, which proves the alleged incident did occur.

Tom MichaelThe Sun

A ROSWELL conspiracy theory “expert” has claimed to have found proof the supposed UFO crash really did happen.

Heather Wade insists she has got her hands on an “ultra top secret” report confirming the fabled alien encounter in the desert of New Mexico, USA, was real, The Sun reported.

Wade says she got the US Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) document from an unnamed source, according to The Express.

She claims the dossier details how the UFO came down on July 2 or 3, 1947.

Chilean Navy releases video of mysterious flying object

COVER UP: NORAD HAS INTERCEPTED 75 UFOS IN THE PAST FIVE YEARS

COVER UP: NORAD HAS INTERCEPTED 75 UFOS IN THE PAST FIVE YEARS

NORAD have responded to a freedom of information request from a Canadian UFO researcher and have confirmed that the joint American-Canadian RADAR operation has tracked almost 2000 UFOs over the past five years. This means that approximately 400 UFOs are spotted flying in the skies over North America every single year. In addition to that, NORAD has revealed that 75 of these UFOs have been intercepted in the recent past.

Intercepts are when officials from NORAD alert fighter jet companies to scramble and attempt to identify the unknown flying craft that has been caught on the radar. The information suggests that this has happened seventy-five times in the past five years but the military organization refused to release the information about the operations or whether they had identified the UFOs which flagged up on the radar.

The refusal of NORAD to release further details about the operations and what they have discovered flying in the skies over North America has been a source of intense frustration to the Canadian UFO Research Victor Viggiani who filed the freedom of information request. He claims that representatives from NORAD have told him that ‘unknown track reports’ are classified as top secret and cannot be released into the public domain for issues relating to ‘national security’ and espionage.

For Viggiani, the claims that the information cannot be released because of national security is little more than a smokescreen to cover up what the Canadian and the United States militaries have discovered as a result of UFO detection over the continent. While some may claim that the UFO reports may be nothing more than excursions by foreign aircraft, Viggiani is convinced that NORAD officials have discovered proof of extraterrestrial visitors to Earth in the course of their duties. µ

Viggiani claimed that when he received the NORAD documents with regards to the intercepts and sightings, he was threatened with indictment if he ever released the file. However, he chose to ignore the warning to bring the truth to the public. “I dare the US government to charge me, ” he said defiantly.

OFF THE RECORD Scientists Found That The Soul Doesn’t Die – It Goes Back To The Universe

Scientists Found That The Soul Doesn’t Die – It Goes Back To The Universe

There IS life after DEATH: Scientists reveal shock findings from groundbreaking study.

The mystery of death is not to be told. It is something to be experienced. We all know one thing for sure: we are all going to die one day. And when we do die, we may not get the opportunity to come back and explain our experience.

Many religions believe in life after death. It is said the soul goes out of the body to live a new life in the spiritual realm. A wicked person is sent to hell to be tormented by a blazing fire, while a righteous person is sent to heaven to live an eternal and joyful life.

However, scientists believe that this religious interpretation of death is just a mythology. Some researchers have therefore devoted themselves to unraveling this mystery. The starting point: establish that there is some sort of life after death.

At the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom, researchers have confirmed in a new study that there is indeed life after death. The study has been published in the online journal Resuscitation.

The study is said to be the largest ever medical study into near-death and out-of-body experiences. The study revealed that some awareness may continue even after the brain has shut down completely. A human being is pronounced clinically dead if the heart stops beating and the brain shuts down. The condition can also be called cardiac arrest.

According to the researchers, they spent four years examining more than 2,000 people who suffered cardiac arrests at 15 hospitals in the United Kingdom, the United States and Austria. They found that nearly 40 percent of people who survived their resuscitation, described some kind of awareness during the time when they were clinically dead.

Of the 2,060 cardiac arrest patients studied, 330 survived and of 140 surveyed, 39 percent said they had experienced some kind of awareness while being resuscitated. Although many of them could not recall specific details, some themes emerged. One in five said they had felt an unusual sense of peacefulness, while nearly one third said time had slowed down or speeded up.

Read: Scientist Claims That Consciousness Continues After Death – Life Is Just The Beginning

Some recalled seeing a bright light; a golden flash or the Sun shining. Others recounted feelings of fear, drowning or being dragged through deep water, 13 percent said they had felt separated from their bodies, and the same number said their senses had been heightened.

A 57-year-old man from Southampton, who was pronounced dead for three minutes, said he left his body entirely, watching his resuscitation from the corner of the room. He was able to accurately recount the actions of the nursing staff and the sound of the machines used in his resuscitation process.

Lead researcher of the study, Dr Sam Parnia said the study accurately revealed that people experience some awareness after death.

Dr Parnia was quoted as saying: “We know the brain can’t function when the heart has stopped beating. But in this case, conscious awareness appears to have continued for up to three minutes into the period when the heart wasn’t beating, even though the brain typically shuts down within 20-30 seconds after the heart has stopped. The man described everything that had happened in the room, but importantly, he heard two bleeps from a machine that makes a noise at three minute intervals. So we could time how long the experience lasted for. He seemed very credible and everything that he said had happened to him had actually happened.”

Dr Parnia also added that many more people may have experiences when they are close to death, but the drugs or sedatives used in the process of resuscitation may stop them remembering.

“Estimates have suggested that millions of people have had vivid experiences in relation to death but the scientific evidence has been ambiguous at best. Many people have assumed that these were hallucinations or illusions but they do seem to corresponded to actual events. And a higher proportion of people may have vivid death experiences, but do not recall them due to the effects of brain injury or sedative drugs on memory circuits. These experiences warrant further investigation,” Dr Parnia said.

Commenting on the study, the editor-in-chief of the journal Resuscitation, Dr Jerry Nolan said Dr Parnia and his colleagues are to be congratulated on the completion of a fascinating study that will open the door to more extensive research into what happens when we die.

SEE IT: Kurt Russell claims to be pilot who called in prolific 1997 ‘UFO sighting’

DAN GUNDERMAN

It turns out Kurt Russell, or maybe his “Escape from New York” alter ego Snake Plissken, is responsible for phoning in one of the leading UFO conspiracies out there.

In a BBC interview alongside “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” costar Chris Pratt, the 66-year-old actor said that in 1997, he was the pilot who first reported the Phoenix Lights incident in Arizona, in which thousands of people allegedly witnessed six lights, in formation, moving in the night sky.

Kurt Russell in "Escape from New York," 1981. In a recent interview, Russell claimed to be the pilot who called in the 1997 Phoenix Lights incident allegedly involving UFOs.

 (COURTESY EVERETT COLLECTION)

Here’s how the conversation went down:

“I was the pilot,” Russell said in the interview. “Oliver and I were flying in; I was flying him to go see his girlfriend. And we were on approach. I saw six lights over the airport in absolute uniform in a V-shape... I was just looking at them and I was coming in, we were maybe a half mile out. [His son] Oliver said, ‘Pa, what are those lights?’ Then I kind of came out of my reverie and I said, ‘I don’t know what they are.’ He said, ‘Are we okay here?’ I said ‘I’m gonna call,’ and I reported it. They said...‘We don’t show anything.’

Kurt Russell said he had sex with Goldie Hawn on first date

“I said, ‘Well, okay, I’m gonna declare it’s unidentified, it’s flying and it’s six objects.’ We landed, I taxied, dropped him off, took off and went back to L.A.

“I never said a word, he never said a word. I never thought of it. Two years later, [his wife] Goldie [Hawn] is watching a television show when I came home. And the show is on UFOs...And I’m kind of hearing the TV going. And I stopped and I started watching and it was on that event. And that was the most viewed UFO event, over 20,000 people saw that.

“I’m watching this and I’m feeling like Richard Dreyfuss in ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind.’ I go, ‘What, why do I know this?’ And it’s not clear to me. And finally they said a general aviation pilot reported it on landing.

“I never thought of it since then and I said, ‘That was me, that was me! Wait a minute, I’ll go to my logbooks.’ So I went to my logbooks and there was that flight, at that time, and I didn’t mention anything about the UFO.

“The fascinating part of that, to me, was that it just went literally out of my head. And Oliver never mentioned it. Had I not seen the show I never would’ve thought of it again. That, to me, was the weird part.”

Needless to say, Pratt was convinced.

Conspiracy theorists claim that a massive alien spaceship was recorded on a remarkable video flying over a major city. Filmed in Toronto in Canada, the clip shows four large bright lights in the night sky.

The object to the left, which is the furthest among the four, slowly moves over the skyscrapers and houses. It is thought to be a helicopter, but the three other lights stay in the same position for several minutes.

According to the source of the video said that the strange giant bright lights made no sound and just remained in one place for around five minutes before they disappeared.

The lights did not move or do anything other than hovering over the city. Some think that the three lights were separate entities and others believe it was one large craft.

Sceptics suggest that the three lights can be drones or quadcopter. Others, meanwhile, are convinced extraterrestrials have something to do with it.

Washington :

As NASA’s hunt for aliens continues, the US space agency will deploy its James Webb Space Telescope that will hunt for signs of alien life on Earth-sized planets of the TRAPPIST planetary system that was discovered recently. Also, it will search for extraterrestrial life on Jupiter’s moon Europa, NASA said on Friday.

The scientific capabilities of other NASA missions such as the Hubble Space Telescope is complemented and extended by the James Webb Space Telescope, which will be the most powerful space telescope ever built.

“From the very first galaxies after the Big Bang, to searching for chemical fingerprints of life on Enceladus, Europa, and exoplanets like TRAPPIST-1e, Webb will be looking at some incredible things in our universe,” said Eric Smith, James Webb Space Telescope Director at NASA Headquarters in Washington.

“With over 2,100 initial observations planned, there is no limit to what we might discover with this incredible telescope,” said Smith.

All of the science areas the telescope is designed to explore, from first light and the assembly of galaxies to the birth of stars and planets will be addressed by the broad spectrum of initial observations.

Targets will range from the solar system’s outer planets such as Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, and icy Kuiper Belt to exoplanets to distant galaxies in the young universe.

“These observations by the teams of people who designed and built the Webb instruments will yield not only amazing science, but will be crucial in putting the observatory through its paces and understanding its many capabilities,” said Ken Sembach, director of the Space Telescope Science Institute in the US.

Would Extraterrestrial Bacteria Be Dangerous To Humans?

Would Extraterrestrial Bacteria Be Dangerous To Humans?

960x0.jpg?fit=scale

(Photo: VANO SHLAMOV/AFP/Getty Images)

How deadly would a bacterium be to humans if it was brought from a completely different star system? originally appeared on Quora: the place to gain and share knowledge, empowering people to learn from others and better understand the world.

Answer by Drew Smith, Scientist, on Quora:

The chance that extraterrestrial bacteria would be deadly to humans is zero. Not just very, very small. Zero.

Pathogenesis requires intimacy. This intimacy is attained through millions of years of co-evolution. The need for intimacy is apparent when you look at how bacteria and viruses cause infections and disease.

Infection requires binding to a cell surface. Bacteria (and viruses) bind to human cells through proteins that recognize human proteins and carbohydrates. The structure of these human proteins and carbohydrates is, to a first approximation, arbitrary. There are an almost infinite number of permutations of them that could exist and work just fine. But only one does exist. The chance that an alien bacteria would have evolved to stick to that protein is infinitesimally small.

Even if this alien bacterium were able to stick to a cell surface, this alone would not establish an infection. Infecting bacteria secrete all kinds of toxins and virulence factors. These toxins and factors bind to specific human proteins. They block or modify their activity in ways that degrade cells and tissues, releasing nutrients that the bacteria can feed upon.

Again, the target proteins have fairly arbitrary structures. They are the result of billions of years of evolutionary history and their precise structure - and even their existence - is not at all predictable. The chance that an alien bacterium would have evolved toxins that precisely target them is infinitesimally small.

Pathogenicity is extremely rare on Earth. There are millions, perhaps billions, of species of bacteria. The number of potential human pathogens among them is very small, no more than a couple hundred. And only a couple dozen are able to infect otherwise healthy humans. These are bacteria that have been with us for millions of years, evolving as we evolve, becoming intimately familiar with our proteins, our cells, our immune systems.

This knowledge is stamped into their genomes; it is a diary of their long association with us. It is not a book that could be written in an alien language. Alien bacteria are no more likely to be human pathogens than intelligent aliens are likely to speak Urdu as their native tongue. It just isn’t possible.

Capt. David D. Schindele was a Minuteman I intercontinental ballistic missile launch crew commander in the Minot Air Force Base missile field when he experienced a situation in which a flying object took down all 10 of the nuclear-tipped missiles he was responsible for, causing them to be unlaunchable. That was 50 years ago.

Air Force officials instructed Schindele never to speak about the incident and as far as he was concerned, it never happened. Schindele was at a launch control facility near Mohall when the incident occurred.

On Dec. 6, 1966, the front page headline of the Minot Daily News on Dec. 6, 1966, read: “Minot Launch Control Center ‘Saucer’ Cited As One Indication of Outer Space Visitors. The story told about UFO incidents in the Minot area.

“It Never Happened, Volume 1,” is the title of Schindele’s new book about the Air Force’s cover-up of the UFO (unidentified flying objects).

Schindele was stationed at Minot AFB from July 1965 to May 1968.

Submitted Photo This photo of Capt. David D. Schindele was taken at Minot Air Force Base when he was a Minuteman I intercontinental ballistic missile launch crew commander in the 1960s.

Submitted Photo This photo of Capt. David D. Schindele was taken at Minot Air Force Base when he was a Minuteman I intercontinental ballistic missile launch crew commander in the 1960s.

“During that time in Minot, many of us experienced unworldly incidents at Minuteman facilities but we were all individually instructed to keep silent. We never realized at the time that others among us were also experiencing incidents, but now the truth is becoming known,” Schindele told the Minot Daily News.

Schindele said a number of years ago he learned about a similar incident experienced by another missileer and that led him to writing his book.

“About 35 years after my Minot incident and learning about an identical incident experienced by another missileer (Capt. Robert Salas) connected to Malmstrom AFB in Montana, which was during the same general timeframe as my incident, I then contemplated coming forth with the ‘truth,’ “ Schindele said.

Schindele said it took him another five years before he related his experience on his website and began to inform close friends of his experience.

“After discovering in 2010 that other missileers with me at Minot also experienced associated incidents, I then decided to conduct extensive research on Air Force cover-up to find out exactly why the Air Force told all of us to keep our ‘lips zipped.’ We all had top secret clearances, but that was not enough to allow the Air Force to provide truth to us, or to explain the incidents. We were all kept in the dark and never trained on how to manage such incidents and situations should they reoccur. It was a very disconcerting time for all of us,” he said.

It was during his research and documenting information beginning in 2010 that Schindele said he knew he must produce a book on his findings.

“It was a six-and-a-half year effort, but I also realized that a second volume would be needed to make it complete,” he said.

Schindele said there’s another aspect to this that must be understood.

“There are many Minot missileers who have taken their ‘secret’ to their grave, while some hold onto the secret to this very day because of very great trepidation involved,” he said. “With the passing of more than 50 years since my incident at Minot and 70 years since the incident at Roswell, (N.M.) there can be no ethical, moral, or critical reason for keeping the secret from humankind any longer, and my other missileer friends agree with that. This is further reviewed in Chapter Seven of the book.”

Schindele said that mainly he wants to provide the truth

“From the beginning, I’ve been conflicted with the goal of bringing truth to as many people as possible, while having no appetite for bringing attention to myself or receiving monetary benefit. But I also realize the fallacy in that,” he said.

Schindele and his wife, Diana, reside in Mukilteo, Wash., north of Seattle. They have been married for 20 years and have a combined family of four adult children and eight grandchildren. Schindele grew up in the Seattle area and attended Washington State University. His parents both grew up in North Dakota – his mother at McGregor and his father at Tolna – and attended the University of North Dakota at Grand Forks.

Schindele said he and many others who were missileers during the same time period get together about every year and a half for a reunion, although their ranks are increasingly being depleted. Their next reunion will be in Las Vegas next February.

Schindele’s book is available at Amazon.com. Proceeds will go to the Seattle Chapter of the Air Force Association.

Military jets chase sphere UFO claims witness

A Georgia witness at TyTy reported watching a group of military jets that appeared to be escorting a red-orange sphere at about 600 feet in altitude, according to testimony in Case 82496 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness was outside stargazing in his backyard with a telescope at 10 p.m. on February 21, 2017, when the incident occurred.

“I first heard low speed jet engines north of me,” the witness stated.“I turned to see what it was. I saw a row of flashing white strobe lights with a redish-orange ball or sphere in the middle coming toward me moving real slow.”

The witness watched as six “fighter jets”flew overhead at approximately 500 feet.

“One jet was approximately 500 feet to the west of the redish-orange sphere. Another jet was approximately 500 feet to the east of the redish-orange sphere and four more jets were side-by-side following about 1,000 feet behind this redish-orange sphere.”

The witness was overwhelmed with two aspects of the sighting.

“What was so strange about it was how low and slow they were all flying and flew directly over the top of me.”

The witness described the sphere.

“This redish-orange sphere looked to be about 30 feet in diameter. It was kind of dim with no strobe lights of any kind. After they flew over, the jet on the west side of the sphere backed off and turned left and got right behind the redish-orange sphere. After that, I couldn’t see them anymore because of the trees that are around one mile south of me. As far as I could tell, they all kept on flying straight south. Now if they should have been flying southeast, they would have been flying towards Moody Air Force Base. I don’t know of any airport that would have been straight south or me. Any help on this ordeal would be more than I have now. This took place in southern Georgia 60 miles north of the Georgia-Florida state line, and 100 miles east of Columbus, Georgia, and 100 miles west of Waycross, Georgia, and 100 miles south of Macon, Georgia, or 10 miles west of Tifton.

Ty Ty is a city in Tift County, Georgia, population 716. No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on March 4, 2017.

Georgia MUFON Field Investigator Brion Trainor and State Section Director Jeremy Haslam investigated this case and closed it as an Unknown.

“The evidence clearly leads to the conclusion that this is an Unknown Other sighting event,” the investigators stated in their report.“However, the 30-foot, glowing, reddish-orange orb was being escorted by very recognizable jet planes. This begs the questions: 1) Did the jet plane’s pilots know what the orb was that they were escorting; and 2) What was their destination?”

Please remember that most UFO sightings can be explained as something natural or man-made. The above quotes were edited for clarity. Please report UFO activity to MUFON.com.

‘UFOs: Reframing the Debate’: The Complete Introduction

‘UFOs: Reframing the Debate’: The Complete Introduction

What follows is my full introduction to UFOs: Reframing the Debate, a new edited volume of fourteen original essays exploring alternative perspectives on UFOs and how we might more thoughtfully study the phenomenon in the 21st Century, with a Foreword by Dr. Diana Walsh Pasulka. I describe the book as “a cold, hard, slap in the face for ufology, delivered with love.” I believe we need to push ourselves outside of our comfort zones on this subject; to expose ourselves to ideas that challenge, agitate, and even infuriate us. Compiling and editing this volume has most certainly pushed me out of my own UFO comfort zone; in this sense, it has been one of the most exciting and rewarding experiences of my life. It is my hope that those who have the grit to read the book will find it deeply rewarding also. With that said, here now is my own take on why “ufology” needs reframing, and my individual summaries of each and every essay in the book…

INTRODUCTION

Ufologists speak often of “The Truth.” It’s out there, they insist, and it must doggedly be pursued for the benefit of all mankind. But rarely are ufologists truthful with themselves. There is, of course, no such thing as “ufology,” not in any meaningful sense of the term. If “ology” refers to a branch of knowledge or learning sprung from organized research, then ufology is a broken twig.

The UFO field has produced thousands of dedicated researchers over the years, and reams of literature; but to what end? What can we claim to know conclusively today about the underlying nature of UFO phenomena that we didn’t know in the late-1940s? UFO study has always suffered from major organizational and methodological problems. It has also become dangerously self-referential. Few researchers are prepared to think critically.

Today, as ever, the Extraterrestrial Hypothesis (ETH) is the most popular ufological theory. It has become so popular that the already-flimsy architecture of the field has morphed into “exopolitics”—a movement born of the Internet and based on a blanket acceptance that UFOs are extraterrestrial vehicles, that the government knows this, and that, in time, “Truth” will break free and a new age of human enlightenment will begin. It is a myth, spun partly by external design, but largely by the UFO community’s profound need to believe that universal truth is tangible, and within arm’s reach. Today’s UFO conferences bear an increasing resemblance to the spectacle of the Megachurch, where the cult of personality attracts thousands of believers, all hopeful their prophets can move them just an inch closer to UFO salvation.

If ufology is a New Age religion, then “Disclosure” is its Holy Grail—that ever-imminent announcement from officialdom that we are not alone in the universe, and, moreover, that “They” are among us. The problem with the Disclosure mindset is that it declares an end to the UFO enigma and discourages us from further study of the phenomenon, and of its cultural and societal effects. Why study when we can simply wait? All we need do is talk about UFOs in online forums and occasionally send a petition to the White House. Eventually, our leaders will see fit to share with us the aliens’ world-changing information and technologies, ushering in a new era of cosmic consciousness. It’s only a matter of time. Disclosure requires little more than our passive spectatorship.

The ultimate irony of the Disclosure movement is that, by imagining all answers to the UFO mystery to be out of public reach, deep in the bowels of the national security state, it places power into the hands of officialdom, while disempowering the individual. Modern “ufology,” therefore, is no longer about asking challenging questions. Rather, it is about fitting predetermined answers into an established quasi-religious belief system.

If ever we are to further our understanding of the UFO enigma, we must fundamentally reframe our debate. We must wipe the board clean and fill it with new ideas, new theories, even new language. We must be willing to start from scratch when the field stagnates. We must be critical, sober, and free from dogma—ready to rinse away the residue of our own beliefs.

With the above in mind, in April 2016, I began approaching a select few individuals in the UFO research community—free-thinkers and iconoclasts—with a proposal for a volume of original essays presenting alternative perspectives on UFOs and the UFO subculture. Just under a year later, I find myself writing this introduction for the near-complete manuscript. It all came together relatively quickly and smoothly, if not without the usual amount of effort and sacrifice that goes into such an endeavor. All those who chose to write for this volume have committed to it wholeheartedly, and I have been inspired daily by their enthusiasm for the project.

I know I speak for all the contributors when I say this book was a challenge to write. I know it was a challenge to edit, and I also know it will be a challenge to read. Whether you’re a “skeptic” or a “believer” (for lack of more nuanced terms), this book will irk you. And that, of course, is the intention. Indeed, it is structured such that it may provoke maximum discomfort in the reader and push cognitive dissonance into overdrive. For the first half of this volume, the essays spar back and forth between pro-and-anti-materialist approaches. Some of our contributors advocate extreme skepticism of any UFO claim, while championing traditional scientific methodologies—the dispassionate pursuit of objectively verifiable evidence—while other contributors see limitations in such an approach, preferring instead a more oblique path of engagement with what they see as a consciously oblique phenomenon. Other contributors explore why modern UFO accounts seem often to overlap with other mysterious phenomena, or how the UFO can be utilized as a looking-glass for profound introspection, one reflective of personal belief, stress, or trauma.

For all the unconventional theories presented herein, none of the contributors would be so bold or naïve as to discount the possibility that some UFOs are representative of extraterrestrial intelligences. We are suggesting, however, that today’s UFO field is sorely lacking in meaningful debate and is close to the point of stagnation in its uncritical thinking and lazy acceptance of what may seem like the most logical theory for inexplicable aerial anomalies, but which, when tested against the full depth of data, falls desperately short as an exclusive hypothesis. To quote SMiles Lewis in this volume: “I advocate for a multi-theory interpretation of the UFO phenomenon. I don’t think there is any one explanation that accounts for all the data. I think there are a number of things going on simultaneously.”

Many of these “things” undoubtedly stem from what Susan Demeter-St. Clair refers to as “the one clearly tangible vehicle central to any UFO story”—the human witness. The role of the witness in UFO events typically is overlooked by UFO investigators, whose focus often is on what the witness has seen, rather than why they have seen it, or how they have interpreted it. The assumption, strangely, is that UFO witnesses are almost always independent of their anomalous experiences. Multiple essayists in this volume urge a fundamental redirection of UFO research, from the external to the internal—by seeking to understand the daunting complexities of human cognition and consciousness itself, we may better understand the UFO, and, perhaps more importantly, better understand ourselves.

If by some slim chance this is the first UFO book you’ve ever picked up, I’m afraid you’ve thrown yourself in at the very deep end of the pool, but that’s all the more reason to push on with it; if you do so, I feel confident in stating that the wider ufological waters will seem clearer and more navigable.

Chris Rutkowski’s opening essay is a trial by fire for any reader who considers themself a UFO experiencer. He pulls no punches in his characterization of a substantial portion of the UFO community as “zealots.” I know for sure that some readers will be inclined to set this book aside after just a few pages of Rutkowski’s essay. Don’t do that. If his perspective does not fall in line with your own, simply accept that from the outset, proceed with an open mind, and then ask yourself if any of his observations are objectively untrue. Rutkowski’s essay is incisive and, to my mind, necessarily harsh. It is not, as some will undoubtedly see it, a piece of debunkery. Rather, it is a product of its author’s frustration at those UFO enthusiasts whose wholesale rejection of all evidence at odds with their own beliefs justifies his view that ufology is more a religion than a science.

I’ve frontloaded this book with pieces on religion because the religious aspects of UFO belief are undeniable (again, this observation should not be interpreted as a dismissal of UFOs as an objectively real phenomenon. No one in this book attempts to make such a case). Make no mistake, ufology is a New Age religion; with this in mind, its followers should take caution, for many if not all strains of religious belief have been exploited throughout the ages by elite power structures for reasons of cultural and societal control—a case made by several authors here.

If UFO “believers” can pass the test of Rutkowski’s essay—if they can override their cognitive dissonance—then they have the resilience and critical thinking to see them through all the essays that follow.

Next up, and in sharp contrast to Rutkowski’s, Mike Clelland’sessay is a deeply personal meditation on the author’s direct experiences with UFOs and what he considers to be some form of non-human intelligence. Those of a traditionally skeptical bent may be inclined to skip Clelland’s essay. Don’t do that. Clelland’s value in this volume is that he is unusually self-aware and self-analytical in the presentation of his experiences. He is certain he has interacted with anomalous phenomena in mysterious ways, but he steadfastly refuses to reach solid conclusions as to the ultimate nature and purpose of these phenomena. Clelland is an “experiencer” who shuns zealotry and who wears with discomfort any ufological labels that might be used to categorize him. He is compelled to share his story, and he wants us to hear it, but he also wants us to know he is incapable of objectivity in this arena. If more experiencers could adopt Clelland’s considered approach, perhaps some bridges could be built between opposing ends of the UFO research camp.

Clelland’s observations are largely subjective, and he places great value on the experience of the individual UFO witness. In contrast, the observations of our next contributor, Jack Brewer, are rooted in rationalism and the scientific method. Brewer seriously questions the value of UFO witness testimony, noting “…personal stories, interesting and entertaining as they may be, are often of very little value to the professional research process.” He goes on to qualify this statement in considerable detail.

Brewer’s essay is broad in scope and among the most constructive in this volume. It highlights numerous problems currently hampering serious UFO research, and then provides possible remedies and solutions. Again, it is the work of a man with a deep interest in the UFO mystery and a deep frustration at the lazy assumptions and shoddy practices of a great many—perhaps the majority—of UFO researchers.

Next in our line-up is Joshua Cutchin. Continuing with our back-and-forth approach, Cutchin’s essay is a bold rejection of traditional materialist solutions to the UFO riddle and a challenge to “nut-and-bolts” researchers to engage with “high-strangeness” aspects of UFO phenomena from unconventional—even esoteric—perspectives. He encourages that we embrace uncertainty, noting: “Moving beyond materialism is about honestly confronting the fact that we know nothing for certain about UFOs, yet choosing to be inspired rather than frustrated by this realization, leading to a type of non-dogmatic gnosticism.”

We’re back to a materialist approach in Micah Hanks’contribution, which champions rigorous scientific methodology and ambitiously seeks to provide an entirely revised classification system for UFO reporting in the hope of more effectively sorting the proverbial wheat from the chaff. Still, Hanks seeks a union between those who operate within the structures of modern skepticism and those who roam beyond its walls, and he warns against scientific dogmatism, noting: “Modern skepticism can, I think, be summarized in many instances as an ideology, around which a social movement has been built—one that, today, also runs tangent with atheism—and as a paradoxically evangelical attitude about the supremacy of science above all other forms of knowledge.”

We tread a middle ground in Lorin Cutts’ essay, which acknowledges what its author considers to be a genuine mystery behind the UFO phenomenon, while advocating extreme skepticism towards almost all aspects of ufology. Cutts propounds similar ideas to those of Diana Walsh Pasulka and Jack Brewer in his discussion of what he refers to as the UFO mythological zone: “the gap between fact and belief, what we see and what we want to see, what we experience and how we interpret it.” Cutts, himself a UFO witness, seeks to highlight what he sees as the major obstacles we must overcome—or at least recognize—if we are ever to come close to understanding the UFO enigma. The biggest obstacle, suggests Cutts, is us—our enthusiastic willingness to believe and to be led. He notes: “Many people are highly malleable and susceptible to new ideas and beliefs within the UFO mythological zone. Charlatans, fraudsters, and hucksters are free to roam and operate at will. Their contribution to the UFO subject should never be underestimated, for the conditions for successful deception are near perfect. Common sense, lateral thinking and balanced questioning are far superseded and outweighed by irrational belief. Contagion of ideas is rife.”

Narrowing our focus in this volume is Curt Collins, whose essay is devoted entirely to documenting the skeptical investigation and successful debunking of the so-called “Roswell Slides,” which were purported to show the image of a deceased alien entity. Collins was one of several members of the Roswell Slides Research Group (RSRG), and his contribution here is the definitive accounting of how the RSRG operated in tackling one of the greatest ufological blunders (or hoaxes, depending on your perspective) of the 21st Century. Collins’ essay is intricate in its detail and reads like a true-life detective story of how a handful of researchers, separated in some cases by thousands of miles but united in cyberspace, took it upon themselves to expose as fraudulent the claims of dubious UFO personalities screaming from the hilltops that they had found the smoking-gun for Roswell, and that UFO Disclosure was now just a step away.

The reader can make up their own mind as to what motivated the Slides’ promoters, but, for me, this was less a conscious hoax, and more a case of blind belief. The promoters wanted so desperately for the “evidence” to fit their firmly-established perspective on Roswell and UFOs more broadly, that they fooled themselves completely, seeing only what they wanted to see. And they fooled a great many UFO enthusiasts and researchers in the process. When the truth was exposed—that the Slides showed not an alien body, but something entirely down to Earth—it felt to many like the final nail in the coffin for popular ufology. Certainly, it can be said that the Slides debacle represents everything that’s wrong with “ufology” today.

Collins presents the RSRG investigation here as a potential model for future UFO research and investigation—an example of how researchers can work together to solve definitively certain cases and prevent the spread of misinformation in the field. Collins reflects on the strengths and weaknesses of his group’s methodology and observes: “Groups can be great tools, but they have their limitations. Each of us must remain objective, seek the best evidence and ask challenging questions, whether as part of a team or as individuals.”

Next up is SMiles Lewis’ adapted transcript of an epic public lecture he delivered, examining “The Fantastic Facts about UFOs, Altered States of Consciousness, and Mind-at-Large.” It’s a wide-ranging and deeply insightful piece covering everything from Gaian consciousness and planetary poltergeists, to the possible use of the UFO for “Covert Folklore Warfare” by government spooks. It also serves as an extensive bibliography of obscure but valuable literature relating to all themes explored throughout this book. For esoteric and conspiratorial bookworms, Lewis’ essay is a treasure-trove.

We then move to MJ Banias. His ambitious contribution examines the limitations of subcultural UFO discourse within the constraints of modern capitalism. He argues that the ideologies of capitalism and UFO discourse are fundamentally at odds, and the result is that “ufology is forever trapped in a marginalized state.”

Banias notes that, in stark contrast to the capitalist citadel under whose shadow it chaotically dances, UFO discourse has “no locus of control, no elites, and no ivory tower that establishes ideological truth. There is no established power in the discourse, therefore power moves openly between constant shifts in ideas.” The UFO discourse, Banias argues, has no mechanism of governance: “it is democratized, with members of the subculture able freely to express their own ideologies, which vary from reasoned logic to utter speculative hokum… It is, in simple terms, a field of study which is completely democratized. It is an example of a living and functioning discourse that counters modern ideological capital—it creates a pseudo-reality that does not require mainstream official ideologies in order to exist; it is in this democratic state where modern ideological capital is impotent, unable to entrench itself and establish ideological order.”

Unfortunately for ufology, it is this same dynamic that prevents even serious and legitimate UFO discourse from ever finding its way into official culture as anything other than a sideshow attraction. The future of ufology is bleak, says Banias, observing that, in the event of some form of official UFO “Disclosure” (if such a thing is even possible), “ufology would die an instant death as the entire subject would quickly become negotiated into the general sciences and, therefore, into capitalist ideological structures. If we assume that the status quo is maintained, and there is no public announcement… ufology will remain where it is. What can only occur then is a grassroots movement which always operates against the current ideological reality.”

Original illustration for ‘UFOs: Reframing the Debate’, by Red Pill Junkie.

Continuing the sociological line of enquiry, our next contributor, Red Pill Junkie (RPJ), refers to the UFO phenomenon as a “disruption.” Expanding on the theories of Jacques Vallée and John Keel, RPJ considers the possibility that UFO events may be the product of a trickster intelligence, gleefully and anarchically prodding us to provoke individual and societal reactions and developments. He notes, “The UFO disruption is not only a threat to the authority of scientific orthodoxy, it fundamentally defies every conceivable paradigm human society is built upon, in almost every sphere one can envision: religion, economics, communication, and state politics, to name but a few.”

Equally, RPJ also considers it possible that certain UFO events are psychically-manifested by-products of collective stress and trauma during times of societal pressure or upheaval. Regardless of its possible stimuli or motivations, says RPJ, the UFO is the ultimate symbol of anarchist subversion in the modern world. Beyond its cultural and sociological musings, RPJ’s essay is also a personal reflection on how its author has utilized the UFO as an instrument to better understand his own worldview in relation to others.

Susan Demeter-St. Clair’s contribution is a focused discussion of how so many UFO experiences appear to overlap with parapsychological phenomena. Like Red Pill Junkie, she also makes a case for certain UFO events—particularly mass sightings—being triggered by the same psychic mechanisms as provoke poltergeist activity; such events, perhaps, being born of personal or social unrest and upheaval. As with others in this volume, Demeter-St. Clair urges UFO researchers to engage more openly and thoughtfully with the high-strangeness aspects of the phenomena. She argues, “UFO reports that include various types of psychic phenomena may be the key to a greater understanding of the UFO enigma, or, at the very least, trigger more meaningful questions in our ongoing efforts to understand it.”

High strangeness and UFOs… Original illustration for ‘UFOs: Reframing the Debate’, by Red Pill Junkie.

Ryan Sprague’s essay draws from the work of theorists and researchers including Carl Jung, Jacques Vallée, Jenny Randles, David Clarke, and Greg Bishop. It considers the enduring appeal of the UFO in modern culture, ufology’s long (and perhaps futile) struggle for legitimacy, and the questionable inclination of so many UFO researchers to label the phenomenon as “extraterrestrial.”

Sprague does not discount the possibility of otherworldly visitation, but he ushers the reader gently down other avenues of enquiry and suggests we may sooner to come to grips with the nature of the UFO phenomenon by seeking to unravel the complexities of human cognition and our own perceptual apparatus.

Similar ideas are explored in great depth by Greg Bishop. His essay applies advanced theories of cognition to the experience of the UFO witness to highlight the foibles of human perception and how what we see is not necessarily an accurate representation of what is there, especially when we’re confronted with phenomena at the extremities of human experience. The convolutions of human memory are also considered, as are the often-hindering approaches of the UFO investigator when eliciting witness testimony. Bishop notes:

“In the act of first experiencing the event, and then, more importantly, in remembering it and telling the story about it to ourselves and others, we are adding many layers of cultural baggage and other input that help us to make sense of the experience. In so doing, we are taking ourselves step-by-step away from our original impressions.”

Like others in this volume, Bishop encourages sharper focus on the role of the witness in the UFO equation. He posits that UFO phenomena may even be “co-created” events between the observer and the observed. This theory allows for the existence of anomalous stimuli or even non-human intelligences, but suggests that whatever the underlying cause of UFO events, it is likely far more complex and participatory than mere extraterrestrial visitation.

“How much do we bring to the dance during a paranormal encounter?” Bishop asks, “How much of the UFO experience is the result of our subconscious minds trying to make sense of unexpected, startling, and/or frightening input, and leaving us with an insane placeholder when it can’t decide on anything else?”

Bishop’s essay builds a compelling case for the power of the human mind to radically distort subjective extraordinary experiences—even in the moment of the experience. It raises serious questions about just how far off the mark popular ufology is in its simplistic conceptualization of this phenomenon.

Grasping for definitive answers to the UFO riddle is perhaps not the most productive approach, says Bishop: “The terms of the search may need to be changed. If we are looking for an ‘answer’ to the enigma, this assumes that there is an easy or understandable one waiting in the wings for just the right researcher who gets lucky or is amazingly smart. Perhaps the process should be referred to as a quest for understanding rather than any search for a specific truth. This may serve to keep the question open, and direct thought processes and models.”

Our final essay, by Robert Brandstetter, again examines the perceptual limitations of the human observer, but it also serves as an impassioned plea for UFO witnesses—who often exhibit signs of real trauma—to be treated with empathy and compassion by those who might otherwise seek to exploit, ridicule, or ignore them. Whatever its root cause, the UFO experience is ultimately a human one, and all that that implies.

Brandstetter observes:

Investigatory approaches towards the UFO witness have been haphazard and, in some cases, quite harmful, leaving the witness as something to both exploit and consume. Yet it is the witness experience that is the primary catalyst for ufology… What started as a story about seeing something strange in the sky has since been manufactured into a mythology… A return to the core component of the narrative is necessary and it must be done with more imagination, ethics and standardization that respect what it means to undergo a traumatic experience. A more compassionate approach to the witness, as well as an appreciation of how the act of seeing works during high-strange experiences, may allow us to gather much more valuable information about how the UFO phenomenon intersects with human perception.

Brandstetter ends his essay, and this volume, with profoundly personal contemplations on what it means to be a UFO witness, and the value of seeking to understand, to know, and to learn from those whose identity is bound-up in the alien Other.

This volume is critical but constructive. It combines ideas both abstract and theoretical, and concrete and practical. Some of these ideas gel and overlap; some of them clash and conflict. The goal is to shift and reframe the debate outside the prison of belief, yet also beyond the razor-wire of scientific dogmatism.

I encourage that you approach this book from the perspective of an anthropologist. Imagine your eyes are fresh to the UFO spectacle. What do you see in these essays? What do they communicate to you, individually and collectively? What do they tell you about their authors? What does your attraction and reaction to this book tell you about you? Pull this book apart. Dissect it. Dissect us. Dissect yourself. Consume every word. Muse on every theme and concept. If you feel riled or uncomfortable at any point, ask yourself why.

I provide no conclusion at the end of this volume because I am reluctant to further stamp myself on the material—I wish for the reader to be as free as possible in their own interpretations—and because I’m not sure there are any meaningful conclusions to be drawn of the phenomenon now beyond the theories and suggestions presented across the spectrum of these essays. Reach a conclusion if you can, but hold it lightly in the acceptance that letting go is no bad thing.

Understanding UFOs and related phenomena is a glacially slow process that is in its fetal stages. The UFO research field would do well to accept and appreciate this. Therein lies the freedom to explore—and to learn.

UFOs: Reframing the Debate is a cold, hard, slap in the face for “ufology,” delivered with love. It is a call to break away from established ideas, approaches, and practices, and to boldly tread a new path in quest of understanding what may very well be the greatest mystery of all.

‘UFOs: Reframing the Debate‘ is available now in paperback and eBook, through Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

UFO BOMBSHELL: US 'hiding seven flying saucers and 27 alien corpses' says alleged DIA leak

UFO BOMBSHELL: US 'hiding seven flying saucers and 27 alien corpses' says alleged DIA leak

THE United States secretly holds the remains of seven crashed UFOs and 27 dead aliens that were on board them, according to a sensational allegedly leaked report from the country's Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA).

The bombshell claims have sent conspiracy theorists, who believe the document could be genuine, into overdrive.

Today, Express.co.uk revealed how the alleged 47-page document emerged today, including a report that claimed the 1947 Roswell UFO crash actually happened and was covered up.

A six-page section on Roswell said the US military recovered fragments of a destroyed flying saucer outside Roswell and four decomposed aliens.

The full report claims a further six UFOs have been found and 23 more bodies.

The document, which has already been branded an elaborate hoax by some UFO experts, also includes a four-page report on an alleged top-secret group set up by the DIA in the wake of the Roswell incident.

Operation Majestic 12 is said to be an "above top-secret" intelligence group set up to investigate "alien visitations of earth" by order of President Harry S Truman in September 1947.

The four page report, said to have been prepared on January 8, 1989, claims to be a preliminary briefing about Majestic 12.

It states: "Advanced beings of non-human nature are continuously being detected along with their flying disc craft in the controlled air space of the US since July 7 1947.

"The remain of seven flying craft and the bodies of 27 non-human beings have been recovered as of this briefing date, and are at present being studied by Majestic-12 scientists.

Alleged DIA report

"Three of the recovered craft are nearly intact and one such machine has maintained some of its power since retrieval in 1948.

"Since 1957, no additional alien craft have been available for study.

"The assessment is that these beings have adapted or perfected these machines to the conditions of our world as to avoid any further such revealing crashes."

The document said six senior military officials and six private sector scientists, all unnamed, made up the group, which was operating at sites across the country, including the NASA Ames Research Centre in California.

The document is said to have been given to Heather Wade, host of US late-night online paranormal radio show Midnight in the Desert., from a known source who has not been named.

Seasoned UFO expert and nuclear physicist Stanton Friedman is investigating the authenticity.

The Paridigm Research Group (PRG) which tries to pressure the White House to disclose documents about UFOs believes the report could be genuine, but accepts it could also be fake.

ROSWELL SENSATION: What is said in alleged DIA 'UFO and alien leaked report’?

ROSWELL SENSATION: What is said in alleged DIA 'UFO and alien leaked report’?

A BOMBSHELL allegedly leaked report about the "Roswell UFO crash" in New Mexico nearly 70 years ago says the Roswell UFO was a "reconnaissance craft" and four beings on board "did not come from Earth”.

Roswell-UFO

GETTY

The allegedly leaked document contains six pages on the Roswell UFO.

Express.co.uk yesterday told how claims of the document emerged in the US.

Heather Wade, host of US late-night online paranormal radio show Midnight in the Desert, claims to have obtained the extensive US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) report into a number of alleged alien and UFO incidents including the infamous Roswell mystery.

She claims the document came from a known, but unnamed source, and has been passed to nuclear physicist Stanton Friedman, who is a long term Roswell believer and investigator.

Roswell has been at the heart of the UFO scene since in July 1947 the military sensationally announced in a press release it had found the remains of a crashed flying saucer in the desert nearby.

But the following day it retracted the statement, saying it was in fact a damaged US Air Force weather balloon.

Witnesses later came forward to say there had been alien bodies within the "crashed craft", which along with the wreckage were then taken to a top-secret US military base.

The seemingly undated 47-page ‘leaked’ dossier contains a six-page report on the Roswell incident, detailing how the UFO came down on July 2 or 3, 1947, and four decomposing alien bodies were recovered two miles from the crash site a week later.

It then says the initial press release about a flying saucer being found was sent out without senior or Pentagon approval, before the "weather balloon cover up" was set in motion.

The report states: "The crash near Roswell occurred sometime in the evening of July 2/3 1947.

"At about 8.47 pm at least two dozen persons in the area observed a bright yellow or "sun coloured" disc-shaped object over the area.

"On July 3, in the early afternoon, the widely scattered wreckage was discovered by local ranch manager William Brazel and his son and daughter."

RELATED ARTICLES

It said the manager reported the incident to officials at the Roswell Field Army Air Forces base, and two men, Major Jesse Marcel, and Captain Lee (Carns or Cerns) were sent to recover evidence.

When they returned to Roswell Fields, the reported to Colonel William Blanchard, who released the press statement about a flying saucer.

The report states: "This was phoned into an Albuquerque, New Mexico, radio station without approval from higher level command in the Army Air Corps.

"Indeed, no one in the Pentagon, or anywhere else was notified or consulted prior to the release of this information."

The report said the crash was 75 miles south west of the air base.

It said: "Aerial reconnaissance discovered that four small human-like beings had apparently ejected from the craft at some point before it exploded.

"These had fallen to earth at least two miles east of the crash site where the wreckage was located.

Alleged DIA document

"All of the four alien crew members were dead and badly decomposed."

The report said, on the same day, 327 fragments of the material and bodies were recovered and taken to Wright Patterson Air Force base near Dayton, Ohio.

While they were being taken there a reporter from the radio station rang Wright Patterson to confirm if it was on its way.

General Twining said he had no such knowledge, and the cover up started, the report said.

It said: ”News reporters were given the effective story that a misguided weather balloon was responsible for the sighting.”

The report continued: "A covert analytical effort organised by General Nathan F Twining and Dr Vannevar Bush on the direct orders of President Harry S Truman resulted in a preliminary consensus (September 19 1947) that the disc-shaped craft was most likely a short range reconnaissance ship.

"This conclusion was based for the most part on the craft's size.

"A similar analysis of the four deceased occupants was arranged by Dr Detlev Bronk.

"It was the tentative conclusion (November 30 1947) that although these aliens are generally human-like in appearance, the biological and evolutionary factors responsible for their development has apparently been quite different from those observed in home-sapiens (Earth humans)."

It said the scientists agreed they had not originated from Earth.

In terms of the UFO material, the report said it was largely beams of a diameter of half and inch to two inches thick.

The report said the metal was like a very light "porous metal alloy" made up of aluminium, silicon, zirconium and an unknown substance

RELATED ARTICLES

Parts of the material contained unknown hieroglyphic and alphabet symbols, it said.

The beams were flexible and not affected by a blow torch.

There have already been doubters who allege the documents must be an elaborate hoax, produced to prolong the Roswell conspiracy theory.

Paradigm Research Group (PRG) was set up to lobby the US Government to end an alleged truth embargo which covers up the existence of aliens on Earth.

The group has described the documents as important, but accepts they could be fake.

Paradigm officials released a statement saying: "Over the coming weeks PRG will work closely with leading researchers into the history of the truth embargo and ET related government documents to determine the quality of this evidence."

The Roswell mystery has long been dogged by hoaxes.

Most famously in the 1990s video emerged alleging to show secret autopsies carried out on the "recovered alien bodies".

It was later found to be fake.

In 2015 a picture emerged, alleging to show an alien corpse from the crash.

It was later exposed as being a mummified human child.

Express.co.uk has contacted the DIA to comment and awaits a response.

The Sun May Have Once Had an Evil Twin

The Sun May Have Once Had an Evil Twin

A well-worn literary device is the ‘evil twin’ – an antagonist who has similar looks but dissimilar morals to a main character. The evil twin is considered to be a nemesis or archenemy to the hero or protagonist. It appears astronomers spend a lot of their daylight hours watching soap operas because a group in California claims that our Sun once had a twin that possibly caused of the extinction of the dinosaurs. That’s pretty evil, right? Moreover, these astronomers claim that EVERY star is born with a twin. How many soap operas do these people watch?

If this story sounds familiar and you’re not a soap opera fanatic, perhaps you’re heard of the Nemesis hypothesis proposed in 1984 by paleontologists David Raup and Jack Sepkoski. They noticed that the 12 known major extinction events on Earth occurred about once every 26 million years. That type of regularity suggest something external that happens on a periodic cycle. Building on their hypothesis, Richard Muller and other astronomers proposed that the Sun had an undetected non-identical twin about 1.5 light years away in a highly elliptical orbit that once every 26 million years knocked a comet from the Oort cloud that hit the Earth in an extinction-causing impact.

“Nonsense!” said everyone who pointed out that no one has ever seen this evil Sun twin. “We are saying, yes, there probably was a Nemesis, a long time ago,” said UC Berkeley research astronomer Steven Stahler in a new study accepted for publication in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

“We ran a series of statistical models to see if we could account for the relative populations of young single stars and binaries of all separations in the Perseus molecular cloud, and the only model that could reproduce the data was one in which all stars form initially as wide binaries. These systems then either shrink or break apart within a million years.”

The molecular cloud is a star nursery filled with recently-born stars (like a maternity ward in Hollywood) and the model shows that all of these sun-like babies have a twin, which either joins it in a sibling union such as a binary (or more, like Alpha Centauri) system or attempts to kill it and its planets like an evil twin and then flees.

Or something like that, says study co-author Sarah Sadavoy, a NASA Hubble fellow at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory.

“This has not been seen before or tested, and is super interesting. We don’t yet know quite what it means, but it isn’t random and must say something about the way wide binaries form.”

So the model proves that all stars are born binaries or perhaps even in a stellar litter. Plugging the Sun into the model, its twin was probably more than 500 astronomical units away, or 17 times farther from the sun than Neptune. Based on that, it ran away and is hiding somewhere in the Milky Way.

Did this evil twin cause any extinctions before it was written out of the script? It looks like we’ll just have to wait for the next episode of “As The Nemesis Turns.”

The Majestic 12 Documents Are Back…

The Majestic 12 Documents Are Back…

Just like an over-the-hill, bloated rock band that doesn’t know when it’s time to retire and go away forever, the notorious saga of Majestic 12 is hitting the road and touring again. Will this be its final farewell? A tearful goodbye to all of its adoring fans? I sure as hell hope so, but I have grave doubts. For those who don’t know what Majestic 12 is alleged to be, a bit of background information is required. UFO researchers have suggested that when the Roswell wreckage and bodies were recovered by the U.S. military in early July 1947, they soon fell under the control of a hastily-created secret group called Majestic 12, and which is also referred to as Majic 12 and MJ12.

Following the publication of his co-authored 1980 book The Roswell Incident, William Moore was contacted by a number of military and intelligence insiders who claimed that they wished to reveal to Moore – and ultimately to the public, the media and the world – classified data and documents on UFOs that would otherwise never see the light of day. It was as a result of this “Deep Throat”-style contact that Moore and his research partner Jaime Shandera obtained, in December 1984, a series of controversial and official-looking documents that detailed the existence and work of the allegedly Top Secret group known as Majestic 12.

Supposedly established in 1947 by then-President Harry Truman, Majestic 12 was tasked with keeping the lid on the extraterrestrial secret while striving to understand and exploit the science and technology that had literally fallen into the hands of the U.S. Government in the desert of New Mexico. At the heart of these documents was a several-page Top Secret memorandum titled “BRIEFING DOCUMENT: OPERATION MAJESTIC 12 / PREPARED FOR PRESIDENT-ELECT DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER: (EYES ONLY) / 18 November, 1952.”

The documents, first published in 1987 by the British author Timothy Good in his book Above Top Secret, revealed that the membership of Majestic 12 included high-ranking military personnel and senior sources within the intelligence community, as well as key scientific personnel in post-Second World War America. Understandably, the documents have been the subject of much controversy and comment, with some researchers believing them to be the real thing, while others cry hoax and/or disinformation. Further MJ12 documents surfaced in the 1990s – from a researcher named Tim Cooper. They were most remarkable for the impressive number of spelling-errors they contained. All of which brings us to the latest MJ12 collection.

The new documents, which run to 24-pages, were recently (very recently) provided to Heather Wade of the Midnight in the Desert show. I have been on Heather’s show several times now and I like her. And when she says that she got the documents from what is described as “a trusted source,” I believe her. But, we don’t know who Heather’s source is. Nor do we know how – and under what circumstances – that same source got the documents. There is no doubt, however, that these are not the real thing.

A few people have already contacted me, suggesting that the documents (which are allegedly Defense Intelligence Agency papers that detail the story of MJ12) were created by disinformation specialists to deflect people away from the highly-controversial “human experiment”/”guinea-pig” angle of Roswell, as detailed in my recently-published book, The Roswell UFO Conspiracy. Well, it’s a nice theory, but there is a massive flaw in it. Namely, that real disinformation experts would have done a much better job. I’ll highlight for you some of the problems with the documents (which you can download in PDF format here).

First, the papers are littered with grammar-based errors. One document – allegedly written in January 1989 – states that MJ12 is “…a Above Top Secret Research and Development/Intelligence operation.” It should, of course, read “…an Above Top Secret…” You might think I’m nitpicking, but I’m not. As another example, “cannot” appears as “can not.” I could go on. Typically, you don’t see that in government records.

Then, there’s the matter of the controversial, alleged UFO crash at Aztec, New Mexico in March 1948. I’m not here to debate the dubious merits surrounding the Aztec affair, but something else. The new MJ12 documents contain a substantial amount of data on the alleged recovery at Hart Canyon, Aztec of the UFO and its crew. But, here’s the problem: the original MJ12 documents that surfaced publicly for the first time in Tim Good’s book, Above Top Secret specifically state that, after Roswell, “a second object, probably of similar origin,” came down in the “El Indio-Guerrero area area of the Texas-Mexico border” in December 1950. It’s very important to note the December 1950 date and that word, “second.” And here’s why it’s so important:

The alleged 1952 MJ12 briefing for President-Elect Eisenhower states that Roswell was the first crash (in 1947), and that the Texas-Mexico event (in 1950) was the second. Yet, in the new files we’re told that MJ12 had recovered another UFO – the one reportedly found at Aztec, New Mexico in March 1948. In other words, Aztec was sandwiched between Roswell and El Indio-Guerrero. But, there’s no mention of Aztec in the documents published by Tim Good. Are/were the members of MJ12 such numbskulls that they couldn’t even agree on how many UFOs came down, when they came down, and how many they had stored away? This was (so the unlikely tale goes) a briefing for the President-Elect! Not telling Eisenhower about the Aztec event makes no sense when MJ12 had supposedly told him about the 1947 and 1950 events. And if anyone tries to come up with a convoluted reason/justification as to why MJ12 would tell Eisenhower about Roswell but not about Aztec, don’t even bother. You will just be digging an even bigger hole/steaming cesspit for yourself.

Still on the issue of Aztec, within the new material there is a bizarre transcript of what is alleged to be a series of chummy chats (I’m not exaggerating…) between “various interrogators” and an alien entity who survived the Aztec crash. At one point, the interviewer asks the “Extra-Terrestrial Biological Entity” the following question: “…so you have been visiting us for some time. I have no choice to accept that, even though I’d love some proof. But you still didn’t tell me who sent you the message from Earth that b

rought you back?” (It’s a long and tedious story…)

The alien replies to the interviewer: “Funny you should connect those two subjects.” WTF???!!! Can you really imagine sitting opposite a creature from another world and which provides answers in what are so blatantly obviously human terms? On another occasion, the alien says, also in the kinds of words we would use, “Listen now, because this could go on forever.” And, at one point, the ET even refers to his great-grandfather!! In those words! Are we really expected to believe this complete and utter crap?

I don’t doubt that the surfacing of these documents (right at the time that the 70th anniversary of Roswell is almost upon us…) will provoke a great deal of debate among certain ufologists. Or a wank-fest. But, they will – just like all of the other MJ12 files – prove nothing. All they will do is cause Ufology to waste its collective time, which is exactly what happened back in the 1980s and 1990s.

Alien megastructures – where we should look next

Alien megastructures – where we should look next

Huge extraterrestrial construction projects should leave detectable traces that astronomers could see

An artist's impression of a disintegrating planet around the star KIC 8462852.
Alien construction project or unknown natural phenomenon? Astronomers still have no solution for mysterious observations from star KIC 8462852. Photograph: JPL-Caltech/NASA

You remember the alien megastructure. No? Let me refresh your memory. Back in October 2015, the internet nearly broke when astronomers announced they had detected a strange signal that stood a remote chance of being a vast extraterrestrial construction - dubbed the alien megastructure.

It was discovered using Nasa’s Kepler Space Telescope, which was designed to look for the slight drop in light caused when a planet passes in front of its star. In this case, the telescope gave astronomers much more than they bargained for.

The brightness of star KIC 8462852 dropped by 15% in March 2011 then by 20% in February 2013 then returned to normal. Given that a planet dims the light by a mere 1%, whatever was producing this signal was absolutely huge.

Although astronomers talked a lot about natural explanations, such as a cloud of thousands of comets around the star or a disintegrating planet, nothing truly fitted the bill. So they went on to speculate that the signal could be produced by a vast artificial construction that had been placed in orbit to harvest energy from the star’s light.

Such constructions are known as Dyson spheres, after physicist Freeman Dyson, who published on the possibility of their existence in 1960. He himself credited his inspiration as coming from science fiction writer Olaf Stapeldon’s 1937 science fiction novel Starmaker.

Things got exciting again last month, when astronomer Tabetha Boyajian from Louisiana State University, who headed the analysis of the original signals, announced that the star was dimming again. Releasing a world-wide call for other astronomers to turn their telescopes towards the star, she and colleagues began a vigil.

Instead of a nose-dive in brightness, however, the star dropped just 2.5% and then returned to normal after a few days. Nevertheless, the additional data may be enough for them to work out what is going on, or at least whittle down the possibilities.

Sadly, one of the explanations that is looking ever more unlikely is the megastructure. As it absorbs sunlight (causing the dips), so the structure would naturally warm up and give off excessive infrared radiation. This would make the star brighter than normal at infrared wavelengths – but this has not been seen.

Yet, all is not lost for those hoping to find alien megastructures. In the first of a brace of recent papers, astrophysicist Zaza Osmanov, Free University of Tbilisi, Georgia, has pointed out that it would be better to build such a thing around the decaying cinder of a once giant star, rather than a star itselves.

Known as a pulsar, the dead stellar heart is left behind after a star explodes. It still seethes with energy, beaming radio and X-ray emission into the cosmos. Osmanov proposes that migrating to these places to harvest this energy would be a better bet for extraterrestrials than building a Dyson sphere around a normal star.

This is because pulsars emit their energy in narrow beams that sweep through space like a lighthouse. So the resulting megastructure would only need to be a ring around the star, rather than something designed to encapsulate the whole thing.

Turning this from speculation into a testable hypothesis, in his second paper on the subject he calculates that the Very Large Telescope Interferometer (VLTI) in Chile, and the orbiting Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) could be used to look at nearby pulsars for the infrared signature of megastructures.

Even if there are no such things as aliens and megastructures, such calculations are valid he told me during a Skype conversation, because they have the power to capture our imagination and demonstrate that rational scientific thinking can be applied to even wild ideas.

But just before we rule out the alien megastructure as the answer to the original KIC 8462852 data altogether, it’s worth remembering that the lack of an infrared excess goes against most of the natural explanations as well. Large clouds of comet dust or a disintegrating planet (Death Star test?) should also give off a detectable infrared signal.

As a result, the astronomical smart money is now wondering whether smaller clouds of dust or gas lying along our line of sight to the star, rather than something giant in orbit around it, could provide the answer. But the truth is that at this stage the field remains wide open.

To paraphrase Boyajian from a TED talk on the subject: either this is a natural phenomenon we don’t understand, or it’s an alien construction we don’t understand. Either way, it’s exciting news.

A UFO sighting in Spring Grove

A UFO sighting in Spring Grove

It was sometime around 1970 that Bill Hoover had an experience that changed the way he sees the world, and the universe, and, well, everything.

He was working the night shift at the P.H. Glatfelter paper mill in Spring Grove. His entire family worked at the paper mill, as did a lot of the people he grew up with in the Pigeon Hills, just outside the mill town.

He had worked previously on a fruit farm and had done some other stuff before going to work at the paper mill, an inevitability in those parts, Glatfelter being the primary industry in town, its reason for existing, pretty much.

He was a wastewater treatment plant operator. It takes a lot of water to make paper, and the mill cleansed the water it used in the process in a series of three wastewater plants, consisting of large pools and sludge beds just outside of town.

Part of his job was to periodically drive from the plant – he drove a company Jeep – to the wastewater plant, dip out some water samples and drive them back to the lab for testing. The plant ran three full shifts back then, and even though it was the middle of the night for most people, the plant operated at full steam.

Related: UFO sighted in York? Sure, why not.

That night, he had driven down to the treatment plant and was scooping water out of one of the sludge beds for testing when he heard something.

It sounded like a vacuum cleaner, a low humming noise. It was coming from above. He thought, "This is not normal."

He looked up and this, well, thing was right above him. It was triangular with three white, translucent globes anchoring the corners. Along one of the sides of the triangle were two bright lights; they looked like headlights. The three globes had bright red points of light in their centers.

Here is the drawing Hoover did of the UFO he saw back

Here is the drawing Hoover did of the UFO he saw back in 1970 or so.

 (Photo: Submitted)

He had never seen anything like it. He had no idea what it was.

It hovered overhead for a while. He dropped his sample bottles and gazed at it. It was the strangest thing he had ever seen.

He jumped in his Jeep and drove to his uncle's farm, about a half-mile away. The thing followed him. It seemed as if it were right on top of his Jeep. It scared the bejesus out of him.

As he approached the farm, driving down the dirt farm lane, over a creek, the thing broke off, climbing straight up, Hoover watched as it disappeared into the night sky.

He got to the farm and yelled for his uncle, who was sleeping and either slept through or ignored his pleadings. He never did come out. He was a dairy farmer, and as such, known to sleep deeply when he got the opportunity, having to get up before the sunrise to milk his herd.

He drove back to the plant and stopped at the guardhouse to tell the guard, "Sleepy" Stambaugh, so nicknamed because he looked sleepy, what he had seen. He asked Sleepy – Sleepy was in his 60s then; Hoover was about 28 – whether he had seen anything weird.

Sleepy told him he had seen it and that it was strangest thing he had ever seen. He had never seen anything like it.

He continued on to the lab and told his boss what he had seen. His boss scoffed. He didn't believe him, saying that he was probably hallucinating from inhaling hydrogen sulfide wafting from the sludge beds. His boss told him that he probably just saw a swarm of fluorescent flying ants. Or something like that.

He went home that morning and told his wife, Linda, what he had seen. She believed him. Whatever it was, he told her, it wasn't a jet; it didn't sound like jet engines, and, at least back then, jets didn't hum and hover.

The next few weeks, he and Linda would sit outside their home in the Pigeon Hills looking for the thing, waiting for it to return and take them off to the stars, to Neptune, or wherever. It never returned.

A few days later, there was a story in the York Daily Record about the sighting. A man named Robert Hake who lived outside of Red Lion reported that he was driving home from his job at Campbell Chain in East York at about midnight when he saw something in the sky.

He was at the intersection of Market Street and Haines Road when he saw it, bright lights hovering over the old York County Shopping Center.

He pulled into a parking lot, got out of his car and watched as the thing climbed straight up and then moved toward him, hovering directly overhead. He said it had three bright red lights and two bright headlights on one edge. He told the newspaper that it made "the weirdest sound you ever heard," a loud whirring or hum, like a vacuum cleaner.

It flew east, and "frightened and forlorned," according to the newspaper, he followed it until it disappeared over the old Stony Brook drive-in.

As he drove home through Red Lion, he saw a police car and stopped to talk to the officer, identified as James Tressler. The cop told him he had seen a similar object pass over town at about midnight.

Hoover clipped the newspaper story and stowed it away in an old shoe box. He dug it out recently when he heard about another account of a person reporting spotting an unidentified flying object.

It got him to thinking.

"I'm a Church of the Brethren boy," said Hoover, now 74 and living in Cross Keys. "I believe in God and that God made the heavens and earth. So I don't know, maybe there're other people out there. Who knows? All I know is what I saw it.

"It was not a normal kind of observation. It was strangest thing ever saw."

FIVE ALIEN SPECIES THAT ARE ALREADY ON OUR PLANET

FIVE ALIEN SPECIES THAT ARE ALREADY ON OUR PLANET

maxresdefault3-672x372.jpg?fit=672%2C372

Many species have and still are visiting our planet, many of them want to see us grow. Wether or not you truly believe in aliens, understand that fundamentally everything is made up of the same structure of geometries.

You and I and everything are fundamentally made up of the same geometries of creation. Something like an alien, a conscious being that exists outside of time, a fairy or even a thought, idea or concept are, at their core, a different expression of the same energy.

1. Lyrans

Lyrans

Image: www.starseeds.net

The Lyrans are believed to be our oldest ancestors, with some believing they were the first beings to organize a civilization in our galaxy.

Billy Meier, Swiss author and source of many UFO photographs, was one of the first people to speak about Lyrans, stating that they shared their origins with him.

He says:

“They have described their ancient ancestry, and consequently ours, as originating in a far sun-system in a star group near what we now know as the Ring Nebula of Lyra, for which we have called them Lyrans in the same manner as we refer to human beings from what we call the Pleiades.”

2. Arcturians

arcturians-1

Arcturians are believed to have existed for eons and eons, being one of the oldest species in our galaxy. They are referred to by many believers as a fifth dimension civilization.

Their home planet is believed to orbit just 200 light years away from earth – which, while relatively close, is still out of our reach.

But that doesn’t stop the Arcturians from reaching our planet, with their civilization being so much more sophisticated than ours.

Those who have interacted with the Arcturians say they are between 3 and 5 feet tall with black eyes and green skin. Old age and death do not plague their society.

3. Telosians

3d00306bebe5efcf155dd32d910ee5ff

Telosians are described as tall, blonde figures resembling humans that are believed to be survivors of previous Earth civilizations.

Many believe their largest earth city is located under Mt. Shasta in California.

Their society is also believed to be in contact with many other alien civilizations, including the Arcturians.

Admiral Richard Byrd was the first person to speak of the Telosians in his posthumously published diaries. He wrote of alien species that lived underground but were driven out from hiding by our use of nuclear weapons.

He wrote in his diary:

“Our interests rightly begins just after your race exploded the first atomic bomb over Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan. It was at that alarming time we sent our flying machines, the “Flugelrads” to your surface world to investigate what your race had done.“

“You see, we have never interfered before in your race’s wars and barbarity, but now we must, for you have learned to tamper with a certain power that is not for man, namely that of atomic energy.”

4. Alpha Centaurians

Picture saved with settings applied.

Alpha Centaurians are, as the name might suggest, believed to originate from Alpha Centauri. They not only have the power to destroy us but any other alien species as well, thanks to their intelligence and curiosity.

It is believed they have many bases in our oceans and seas and, despite their power, they’re very kind to humans and have an urge to assist us.

5. Pleiadians

Pleiadians are believed to be descendants of Lyrans and one of humans’ most trusted allies in the galaxy.

alien

Their host planet is in the Pleiades star cluster, 400 light years from Earth. Their name comes from the Greek word ‘plein,’ which means ‘to sail.’

Billy Meier is also believed to have been one of their confidants. He says one female Pleiadian told him the following:

“We are neither guardians of Earth nor beings of God-sent angels or similar. Many persons suggest we are watching over Earth and her beings and would control their fates.

This is not true, because we only perform a self-selected mission which has nothing to do with supervising or regulating Earth’s fate. Thus it is wrong to expose us as superterrestrial messengers and guardians.”

Astronomers Discover That Our Sun Likely Had an “Evil” Twin That Killed the Dinosaurs

Astronomers Discover That Our Sun Likely Had an “Evil” Twin That Killed the Dinosaurs

binary_stars_1024.jpg
NASA/GSFC/SDO
IN BRIEF
Scientists believe that most, if not all, sun-like stars are born with a twin. Evidence also suggests that our solar system's sun's twin may be responsible for knocking the comet that killed the dinosaurs toward Earth.

STELLAR DOPPELGANGER

We have long known that the dinosaurs were killed by a catastrophic comet impact with the Earth’s surface but what if there was some foul play afoot? Astronomers have discovered that our sun may have been born with a twin, and an evil one, at that. One hypothesis states that every 27 million years, the evil twin, aptly dubbed Nemesis, returns to wreck havoc on the solar system. They believe that the star lobs a few meteors in our direction as it makes its may through the outer limits of the solar system.

Research has lead scientists to believe that most stars are born with at least one sibling. According to UC Berkeley astronomer Steven Stahler, “We ran a series of statistical models to see if we could account for the relative populations of young single stars and binaries of all separations in the Perseus molecular cloud, and the only model that could reproduce the data was one in which all stars form initially as wide binaries.”

MAKING STARS

These findings could have implications for our understanding of how stars are formed. Looking into how they maintain or break those familial relationships will give us a deeper understanding of how our Universe came to be what it is today. Stahler said, “Our work is a step forward in understanding both how binaries form and also the role that binaries play in early stellar evolution.” Stahler also pointed out that this could even lead to a better understanding of how galaxies are formed.

These findings were made possible by the VLA nascent disk and multiplicity survey (VANDAM) which took a census of a group of baby stars merely a half-million years old. Their findings have been accepted for publication in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society and can be read pre-publication at arXiv.org.

FORBIDDEN BOOK OF ENOCH — FALLEN ANGELS, NEPHILIM AND ALIENS

FORBIDDEN BOOK OF ENOCH — FALLEN ANGELS, NEPHILIM AND ALIENS

000.38639541-768x4281-640x250.jpg

The Book of Enoch, written during the second century B.C.E., is one of the most important non-canonical apocryphal works, and probably had a huge influence on early Christian, particularly Gnostic, beliefs. Filled with hallucinatory visions of heaven and hell, angels and devils, Enoch introduced concepts such as fallen angels, the appearance of a Messiah, Resurrection, a Final Judgement, and a Heavenly Kingdom on Earth. Interspersed with this material are quasi-scientific digressions on calendrical systems, geography, cosmology, astronomy, and meteorology.

Ever since its translation in 1800 from ancient texts discovered in Ethiopia in 1768, the Book of Enoch has created a stir in academic circles. Enoch has been proven to have existed and was mentioned before the existence of the church. Several copies of it were discovered in 1948 among the Dead Sea Scrolls. Some even believe we can trace back stories that have great similarities to Ancient Sumer.

The discovery of the first Dead Sea Scrolls in a remote Judean Desert cave in 1947 is widely considered the greatest archaeological event of the twentieth century.

The Book of Enoch is one of those books that almost made it into the Bible but was then rejected as “apocryphal”, even though Enoch and the book itself are mentioned and referred to several times in the Bible. The only people who accept the book as an official part of their holy scriptures are Ethiopian Jews and the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and a few more obscure religious groups around the world. Official sources say the book was written 300 B.C. but since it is ascribed to Enoch, the great-grandfather of Noah, some speculate that it was written before the great flood.

The Book of Enoch is divided into five basic parts, but it is the The Book of Parables (37-71) which gives scholars the most trouble for it is primarily concerned with a figure called “the messiah”; “the righteous one”; “the chosen one” and “the son of man.”

Chapter 46:1-2,
There I beheld the Ancient of days whose head was like white wool, and with him another, whose countenance resembled that of a man. His countenance was full of grace, like that of one of the holy angels. Then I inquired of one of the angels, who went with me, and who showed me every secret thing, concerning this Son of man; who he was; whence he was; and why he accompanied the Ancient of days. He answered and said to me, This is the Son of man, to whom righteousness belongs; with whom righteousness has dwealt; and who will reveal all the treasures of that which is concealed: for the Lord of spirits has chosen him; and his portion has surpassed all before the Lord of spirits in everlasting uprightness.

The opening verses of the Book of Enoch tell us that the revelations in this book were not meant for Enoch’s generation, rather a remote generation, and of course the book would make more sense to the generations after Christ. We know that the early Church made use of the Book of Enoch, but it was then all but lost, until recent times. Perhaps this book was meant for our generation, as it is widely available today after being concealed for over a millennia.

(Enoch 1:1-3)
The words of the blessing of Enoch, wherewith he blessed the elect and righteous, who will be living in the day of tribulation, when all the wicked and godless are to be removed. And he took up his parable and said -Enoch a righteous man, whose eyes were opened by God, saw the vision of the Holy One in the heavens, which the angels showed me, and from them I heard everything, and from them I understood as I saw, but not for this generation, but for a remote one which is for to come.

The first part of the book is about “The Watchers”, a group of “angel”s sent to earth to watch over humans. 200 of those angels committed transgression by having sex with humans, creating a hybrid race called the Nephilim. Of the Nephilim it is said that they were giants and savages that endagered and pillaged humanity. It is said that the “Watchers” taught humans reading, writing, weaponry, cosmetics, sorcery, about the stars, meteorology, and many other arts and that this was problematic because it robbed humans the opportunity to discover the arts by themselves. They “revealed the eternal secrets which were preserved for heaven, which men were striving to learn.” the book says.

In the Book of Enoch, the Watchers (Aramaic עִירִין, iyrin) are angels dispatched to Earth to watch over the humans. They soon begin to lust for human women and, at the prodding of their leader Samyaza, defect en masse to illicitly instruct humanity and procreate among them. The offspring of these unions are the Nephilim, savage giants who pillage the earth and endanger humanity.

Who are the Watchers or fallen angels and why was the early Church and the modern Vatican so concerned about them?

Genesis 6:1-4 says: When men began to multiply on the face of the Earth, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and took them wives of all which they chose.

Traditionally the Ben Eloha or ‘sons of God’ numbered several hundred and they descended to Earth on Mount Harmon. Significantly this was a sacred place to both the Canaanites and the Hebrews who invaded their land. In later times shrines to the gods Baal, Zeus, Helios and Pan and the goddess Astarte were built on its slopes.

In books like Enoch, Jubilee and the Testimonies of the Twelve Patriarchs, the angel orders are arranged in hierarchies. The Watchers seem to be part of the superior classes of angels (e.g. in 1 Enoch, there are 1. Seraphim, 2. Cherubim, 3. Opannim (‘the Wheels of Ezekiel personified) and 4. the Watchers). These varieties of mega-angels share several roles. They are first of all ministering angels who:

  • intercede for humans – 1 Enoch 15:2
  • mediate between God and man – Testimony of Dan 6:2
  • guide people in the right way of life – and report to God on what they see (good or evil) – Jubilee 4:6
  • reveal God’s secrets – 1 Enoch 60:11
  • prepare for the judgment of the righteous and wicked – 1 Enoch 103:2-3
  • teach men knowledge and crafts – 1 Enoch 7:1; 8:1ff

But the Watchers (or some of them) are also those identified as:

  • falling from heaven, led astray by the first 2 of 5 Satans – Similitudes of Enoch 69:4; 54:6 – Esp. Satanail entices the Watchers in the 5th heaven to revolt against God. This Satan will also later condemn and torture these same Watchers (54:3, 5).
  • some of the Watchers who fall are imprisoned in the 2nd heaven and others are cast to earth where they take human women (Enoch 7:3, 18:4) who bear giant offspring (the Nephalim of Genesis 6) – Jubilee 13:17-35; Testament of Reuben 5:6

When the angels descended upon the Earth, they started offering gifts of knowledge to both mortal men and women, thus defying the will of the creator of an unaltered race of humans with a will of their own. In exchange, the angels demanded respect and adoration, but unaware they were of the chaos they had instituted.

And Azâzêl taught men to make swords, and knives, and shields, and breastplates, and made known to them the metals of the earth and the art of working them, and bracelets, and ornaments, and the use of antimony, and the beautifying of the eyelids, and all kinds of costly stones, and all coloring tinctures. And there arose much godlessness, and they committed fornication, and they were led astray, and became corrupt in all their ways.

The Book of Enoch tells many controversial stories of a time in a way similar to what we experience today, but with some major differences. Before the great deluge, humans had tremendous lifespans, fact attested by the Sumerian King List and the Egyptian Pharaoh’s timeline.

By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: ‘He could not be found, because God had taken him away.’ For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.” – Hebrews 11:5

Although historians still consider this time frame in human history as unproved and fictional, there are numerous accounts speaking of those days when “gods walked among men,” when mythological creatures were not just a figment of imagination, and 100 years of life marked only the beginning of ones journey.

Today, it seems that our remote history is either not allowed to surface because it would turn the instituted order to bits, or because that cycle of human history was never meant to be known, for some really intriguing reason. How much this seclusion is benefiting mankind we can only speculate, but I believe that such insight would offer us relief, and that’s exactly what we need to become at peace with ourselves and the universe of which we’re all part of.

THE FIRST REPORTED ALIEN ABDUCTION IS FINALLY GETTING THE MOVIE IT DESERVES

THE FIRST REPORTED ALIEN ABDUCTION IS FINALLY GETTING THE MOVIE IT DESERVES

Alienabduction-Grey1-640x250.jpg

On September 19, 1961, Betty and Barney Hill claimed to have been taken aboard a UFO, experimented on, and returned with missing memories. It was the first time an abduction like that had ever been reported, and now the story is becoming a feature film.

Gotham/Principal, one of the companies that produces The Maze Runnerfilms, has just partnered with writers Bryce Zabel and Jackie Zabel to adapt the Hills’ story. It’ll be called Captured, based on a 2007 tell-all of the same name by Stanton Friedman and Kathleen Marden. Because Betty and Barney Hill were an interracial couple, the film will reportedly “place the events in a context of both Cold War paranoia and the country’s struggle over race relations.”

“Captured is a true story that explores the birth of modern UFO lore through the eyes of the first Americans to report that they were kidnapped by aliens,” said Gotham/Principal producer Eric Robinson in a press release. “This is an exciting story that is as intriguing, timely and ripe for adaptation today as it was 54 years ago when this incident occurred. We look forward to sharing Betty and Barney Hill’s incredible encounter with audiences all around the world.”

As someone who doesn’t really follow “UFO lore,” as Robinson calls it, I think this is the aspect that most interests me. Beyond the mystery of whether or not the Hills were actually abducted, and the story’s social and political context, the angle that hooks me is the framing of this event as the birth of a UFO-obsessed subculture so many of us are familiar with today.

That’s fascinating stuff, on top of all the other interesting angles. If anything, you just wonder how it took half a century for this story to finally make it to the big screen in this manner. (The story was previous turned into a 1975 TV movie called The UFO Incident starring James Earl Jones and Estelle Parsons.)
