ARE CROP CIRCLES OTHERWORDLY SIGNS HOLDING MEANINGFUL MESSAGES?

We are the product of an omniscient and omnipotent being, and beneath the intricate model lies a message deeply related to our unknown genesis and why not, the end of our voyage through life. We can and should consider these cosmic symbols as a subtle way of communication between the creator and his creation.

Is this the government’s fling to cover-up the true nature of these agriglyphs? More than reasonable, or else many would rise and ask for explanations, but we don’t deserve them, do we? Various plauzible answers might be found within the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry.

It is known that in UK, crop circles appear most often than anywhere else on the planet. Also, the United Kingdom is home for the legendary Stonehenge. By simply mentioning of Stonehenge can stir the imagination even amongst the oblivious to the forbidden knowledge hidden in plain sight. As if it weren’t enough of a controversial subject already, Stonehenge is strongly linked to this puzzling phenomenon.

The latest agriglyph appearance is recorded one kilometer away from Stonehenge, more and more having been appearing near the monolithic structure. Rushing for a comfortable false explanation, many dismiss it as man-made, but its level of complexity suggests an accuracy that man is not actually capable of achieving.

Moreover, some crop circles seem to display out-of-the-world technology blueprints or depictions of what could be interpreted as hints to our descendance on Earth.

Other crop circles contain signs that can be easily recognized as esoteric symbols, translated into a powerful message: harmony, emotional, physical and spiritual balance.

At a glance, crop circles seem to be man-made, since they appear near roads in areas of medium to dense population, in the vicinity of other heritage monuments. All clues so far lead to a clever marketing strategy, to build intriguing tourist attractions. But sacred geometry stands out from afar, which can be deciphered into a message, fortifying the serious possibility of a direct communication with humans.

In response to this hypothesis, in 1974, UFO enthusiasts have sent a message to our watchers, in the form of a highly suggestive agriglyph. It is believed that we have received a feedback from outer space in 2001, but NASA has firmly dismissed it (another reason to consider the opposite).

Though it is uncertain the exact period when this phenomenon occurred. The earliest mention of a crop circle dates back in 1647, as illustrated in a woodcut named “Mowing Devil”, where it is clearly depicted a circular design in a field of corn.

Long story short, the legend says that a farmer would rather have the devil himself mowe the crops, than his worker.

Apart from legends and folklore, a more convincing historical mention comes from aerial surveys during the World War II over Britain, revealing what was initially termed as “crop marks”. Similar crop marks have been published in 1880, in the journal Nature, by an amateur scientist named Brandon Meland.

After a series of archaeological investigations, skeptics rejected the idea of extraterrestrial activity, pointing the finger to unrevealed pranksters.

CLOSE ENCOUNTER  OF THE THIRD KIND BEGINT WERKELIJKHEID TE WORDEN ( VIDEO )

Nu met de ontmaskering van de killer elite UFO’s vaststaat dat er een geheime aardse ruimtevloot is, zullen velen zich afvragen of we dan überhaupt nog buitenaardse UFO’s zien.

Dat dit wel degelijk het geval is, blijkt mede uit een foto die wij eerder deze week publiceerden met een soort Close Encounters of the Third Kind in India. 

Twee dagen geleden schreven wij over het verhaal van een man die op zijn mobiele telefoon een foto ontdekt die hij niet zelf had genomen. Hierbij nog een klein stukje uit dat artikel: 

Op de foto zie je een paar felle lichten in de lucht die doen denken aan de film Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Het verhaal wordt nog vreemder, want niet alleen kon de man zich niets herinneren, toen hij keek naar de tijd dat de foto de vorige avond was genomen stond daar 22:51:22. Een tijd dat hij in bed lag te slapen. 

Vervolgens heeft een andere gebruiker op Reddit de foto zodanig bewerkt dat de donkere gedeeltes wat meer zichtbaar werden. 

En dan wordt het nog veel interessanter want op de foto zien we een man staan die naar het vreemde object in de lucht staart. Wat nog vreemder is, is dat de man op de foto niet de eigenaar van de camera is die het bericht op Reddit heeft geplaatst.

Het enige dat de man bekend voor komt is de bomenrij. Die ziet eruit zoals aan de voorkant van zijn huis. 

Op dit artikel kwam de volgende reactie van een lezer (dank!): 

Ik heb de belichtte foto goed bekeken. Wat mij op valt is een groot postuur en blond haar. Verder staart hij niet naar de ufo, maar staat er met zijn rug naar toe. 

Dat kun je zien aan de gebogen armen links en rechts, vooral rechts. Zijn hoofd is naar voren gebogen alsof hij zich enigszins verschuilt. 

Mijn conclusie is dat we hier niet te maken hebben met een mens, maar hoogstwaarschijnlijk een Nordic. Hij loopt recht op de camera toe en ook dat is vreemd. Alsof hij gefotografeerd wilde worden. 

Kijk maar eens heel goed naar de foto. 

Terwijl wij daar mee bezig waren, stuurt hij nog een bericht: 

Ik heb de foto iets anders belicht en bewerkt en het resultaat is wel bijzonder te noemen. Zelfs een contour van de kleding is te zien. Ik dacht meteen aan Star Trek. 

Het resultaat ziet er als volgt uit:

Voor zover ons bekend, heeft niemand de afgelopen anderhalf jaar eraan gedacht dat die man wel eens met zijn gezicht naar de camera tóe kon staan in plaats van andersom. 

Hebben we hier te maken met een vertegenwoordiger van een buitenaards ras? 

De waarneming van dit fenomeen is in ieder geval van een heel andere orde dan die waarbij snel vliegende UFO’s explosies veroorzaken op aarde. 

Dit geheel heeft een veel vredelievendere uitstraling en zou dan ook heel goed buitenaards kunnen zijn. 

Twee dagen geleden zien een aantal mensen een paar vreemde lichten in de lucht vanaf hun veranda in de Indiase plaats Parpatur. Die lichten lijken opmerkelijk veel op die op de foto van de Reddit gebruiker.

Maar, waar de Reddit gebruiker geen weet had over hoe die lichten op zijn camera terechtkwamen, hadden de mensen uit India dat wel en maakten de volgende beelden. 

De video schijnt echt te zijn,  is geplaatst op een kanaal zonder kijkers, met maar drie andere video’s die niet gerelateerd zijn aan UFO’s. Het zou dan ook totaal zinloos zijn om op dat kanaal een nep video te plaatsen. 

Wanneer je de opname ziet en iemand zou je vertellen dat deze beelden afkomstig zijn uit de film Close Encounters of the Third Kind, dan zou je het waarschijnlijk geloven.

ROSWELL: 15 PIECES OF EVIDENCE THE GOVERNMENT IS HIDING ALIENS - PART I

It’s been almost 70 years since the infamous Roswell incident. The moment the public started to become clued in to the idea that extraterrestrial being were visiting our planet, or possibly that alien teenagers were joyriding in New Mexico.

This was also the first time really that the people of the world started to sit up and suspect that their government was not being entirely honest with them about alien life. Before Roswell, people were happy just thinking that aliens were the subject of science fiction. Since that night, when a rancher found what he described to the authorities as “one of them flying saucers”, Roswell has been permanently linked to the subject of UFOs and cover-ups, creating a cottage industry that has pulled in tourists and created an awful TV show.

Proving these incidents has been somewhat problematic. If you’re looking for videos of dancing aliens or a discarded extraterrestrial learner’s permit, you’re not going to find it out there. In fact, every piece of physical evidence surrounding Roswell has been proven as fakery – like the infamous autopsy video from 1995, or the recent photos of an alien being that turned out to be an Aztec mummy. Chances are, any evidence of that nature is locked firmly away in a vault along with the Arc of the Covenant, and what little remains of Indiana Jones’ dignity.

The evidence we do have is largely eyewitness accounts, anonymous deathbed confessions, and government documentation. They’re not quite the smoking gun, but they might just lead us down the path to finding one.

Preferably before the aliens enslave us all.

15. GEOLOGICAL EVIDENCE OF THE ROSWELL CRASH

If we’re to assume that an extraterrestrial vessel crashed somewhere in New Mexico in 1947 – and no-one is for a moment suggesting the aliens were drunk – then you would expect their to be some kind of impact evidence. While debris can be collected and hidden, and beings locked in aircraft hangers, geological evidence is more challenging to cover up.

In 2011, Frank Kimbler – a science teacher at the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, decided he wanted to find this physical evidence. He took satellite images of the alleged crash site, enhanced the infra red, and actually discovered an area that seemed to correlate with what witnesses in 1947 described. The disturbed area was about ¾ of a mile long, and a few hundred feet wide – which kind of rules out the shenanigans of drunken farmers.

So while there were no photos of giant-headed beings staring up at Kemmler, this is some pretty interesting evidence pointing toward a large impact with the surface of the earth.

14. METALLIC DEBRIS

Spurred on by his, frankly, unexpected satellite evidence, our friend Frank Kimbler of previous entry-fame decided that he needed to get some boots on the ground. Boots and a metal detector. Yes, taking an approach that somehow always seems to make people look like crazy obsessives, he took to the site with a whirring, beeping device.

Of course, Kimbler was hardly the first person to dig around the area, but he found that previous archaeologists had been sifting through the dirt with screens that had holes large enough for very tiny pieces of evidence to pass through. Amateurs.

A few inches beneath the surface, in an anthill – because ants are notorious hoarders of UFO debris – Kimbler struck gold. Well, some kind of metal. The first pieces were buttons from 1940s-era military fatigues – proving that the military had at least been present in the area. He also found some slivers of a mysterious metal. Which leads us to…

13. MATERIALS NOT OF THIS EARTH

Usually, when someone finds little foil-like slivers of metal, they don’t pick them up and keep them for later examination, cradling them lovingly like Gollum in Lord of the Rings. There’s no evidence that Kimbler was acting in this fashion, of course…but it’s fun to think about.

A surface examination by the completely unbiased-sounding Roswell International UFO Museum and Research Center found that the metal was composed of aluminium, manganese, silicon and copper alloy. While not unheard of, this mix is not usually found in foil form.

So, Kimbler hauled the evidence around various labs, hoping for an isotopic analysis that would confirm whether the origin of the evidence was terrestrial. Thing is, some scientists wouldn’t touch it with a 1000 ft barge pole, not wanting to be associated with the Roswell incident. However, when he did find a lab that would take on the work (funded by the UFO Museum…just saying), the results were interesting.

Unless the lab made a mistake, the isotopic ratios of the magnesium suggested the material wasn’t consistent with being from this planet.

12. MILITARY WITNESSES

It’s admittedly a bit of a leap to find some buttons and claim that they’re evidence of the military being present at the site of a UFO crash. Maury Povich found our DNA evidence inside a baby’s genes, but that doesn’t mean we were necessarily present for the conception.

However, in 2016 an unidentified (always slightly suspicious) soldier came forward and claimed that he and up to 500 other military personnel witnessed UFOs in the New Mexico desert in 1971.

Stationed at Fort Bliss in Texas at the time, the soldier and his unit were ostensibly sent on maneuvers to an area west of Roswell. While there, the soldiers witnessed a double UFO incident in the sky above them, stopping abruptly and making erratic movements for 5 hours.

Is Roswell like a tourist spot for extraterrestrial visitors too? Or maybe they’re still looking for some bits of metal they left behind.

11.TESTIMONY OF HIGH RANKING MILITARY STAFF

We’re not suggesting for a moment that you can’t trust the eyewitness account of an anonymous soldier, or that their anonymity makes it difficult to even ascertain they were even a soldier. We wouldn’t dare. But when there’s a named source, and that source is of significant rank, well you tend to sit up straight and pay attention – mostly because they shouted in your face ordering you to do so.

Brigadier General Thomas DuBose revealed that he was present when the Roswell wreckage was brought into the office of General Roger Ramey at Carswell Air Force Base. While the official military statement was that the debris was from a fallen weather balloon, DuBose maintained that there was some form of cover up, and that the debris – which he handled personally – was from no normal weather balloon.

This doesn’t mean it was aliens. But it’s aliens.

10. CIA FILES

What’s pretty frustrating for anyone attempting to look into evidence that the government are hiding anally-fixated extraterrestrial being, is the fact that people in the know are pretty reticent to reveal anything that could conceivably…you know…get them assassinated (more on that in a bit).

Chase Brandon, a 35 year veteran of the CIA made a confession that is tantalizingly close to some useful information, and yet frustratingly, he won’t say any more.

In 2012, Brandon said that he saw files on the Roswell incident when he walked into the Historical Intelligence Collection at the CIA headquarters in Virginia.

Opening up a box labelled “Roswell”, Brandon said he rummaged around and saw evidence in the form of written material and photographs that made him realize the crash was real.

He said, “It was not a damn weather balloon…it was a craft that clearly did not come from this planet, it crashed and I don’t doubt for a second that the use of the words ‘remains’ and ‘cadavers’ was exactly what people were talking about.”

Brandon refuses to say any more on the subject because he’s being mindful of “the hat I wear as a former CIA operative”.

9. JFK PROBABLY KNEW ABOUT THE ALIENS

Again, we’re into the slightly murky realm of eyewitness testimony from anonymous military sources. Which has all the credibility of a monkey in a lab coat claiming to be a heart surgeon. Still, it’s worth considering.

In a recent documentary, “Undisclosed”, a man purported by the film makers to be John F Kennedy’s former pilot revealed that the president had significant awareness of the US government’s contact with extraterrestrials.

During a conversation with the president, the pilot claims JFK told him, “you’re right, young man. There is considerable knowledge as far as the being of UFOs and the ET phenomenon that we are aware of today.”

Which, while it reads as though JFK might have been drunk at the time, lends some credence to the rumors that the president was assassinated because he was about to make revelations about aliens to the world. Sort of. Maybe.

8. NASA UFO FEED WAS CUT

In today’s super-connected world, we have become used to seeing things happen, at the moment they happen. When some starlet has a nip-slip on the red carpet, you better believe several hundred thousand people witnessed it, and there’s no point denying it happened.

Well, it seems NASA had something of a nip-slip of its own in 2016.

NASA has been kind enough to provide us with live feeds outside the International Space Station constantly since 2014. On that fateful day, audiences were watching the beauty of the earth from space, when an object appeared to slowly descend toward earth…and then the footage cut out.

When questioned about it, NASA claimed the blackout occurred at random, and advised that they’d never witnessed a UFO in the popular sense.

While there are all kinds of plausible explanations for the object, the timing of the feed cut out was kinda…convenient.

7. THE SHIRLEY’S BAY STATION

Obviously, it’s not just the US government that are covering up their evidence of alien existence. That’s a given. But we would never have expected the Canadians to be involved in a conspiracy! What the hell, Canada? You’re supposed to be the nice one!

Project Magnet was set up in Shirley’s Bay, Ottawa, with the explicit intention of attracting UFOs, because the Canadian Department of Transport thought UFOs might hold the key to clean transportation.

Sounds like a great idea, right?

However, as soon as the station detected it’s first suspicious event, all records were deemed classified by the Canadian government, and the project was abruptly shut down by officials. However, according to the lead scientist at the base, Wilbert Smith, the incident involved readings that were way off the charts of any normal aircraft, but when the research team ran outside to see what was causing the readings, they were unable to view it due to fog.

6. A NASA ASTRONAUT SPOKE OUT

If there’s one person on Earth that you’re likely to accept the testimony of about life on other planets, it’s probably gonna be a guy that’s actually been into space.

Edgar Mitchell, along with being a former space jockey of the highest order, is one of the faces that keeps cropping up when trying to uncover evidence of UFOs.

In a 2008 radio interview, Mitchell revealed that the government had been covering up UFOs for the last 50 years, but that NASA wasn’t involved. Though he declined to give names, he said that he knew several high ranking military and intelligence officials who had personal experience of the cover up. He also said that he spoke to an official at the Pentagon, who confirmed that the instigators of this more than half-century block on information were investigators of the Roswell incident.

Sure, it’s not a video of an autopsy, but it’s very intriguing.

5. ALIEN CRAFT ON THE MOON

One of the great things about working around people who have been up in space, is you’re likely to hear about some of the weird stuff that they see. You know, before you receive a clandestine visit from a shadowy organization that for some unknown reason would hire Will Smith.

A former NASA contract employee, Donna Hare revealed that she had spoken to a man who had been in quarantine with astronauts returning from the moon, and they spoke about what they had seen there.

An alien craft, landing on the surface of the moon.

However, according to Hare’s source, the astronauts were given explicit instructions never to mention this craft to anyone. Probably less because they want to cover up alien life, than they want people to believe the US were the first beings on the moon.

4. THE MILITARY SHOT AN ALIEN

Well, it seems that the government’s approach to alien life is not one of benign co-operation. More like, kill it before it kills you. At least according to former Air Force Major George Filer III.

According to Filer, when he was stationed at the McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey, he witnessed an alien craft landing on the runway.

Did the military run up the welcome flag? Throw out a red carpet? Put on a nice buffet?

No.

Filer said that when the alien being got out of it’s craft, a member of the military police shot it dead. He was initially told to brief general staff on the incident, but was soon ordered to hush up about it.

Probably to stop a potential “alien lives matter” movement. The government finds those protests a bit awkward.

3. DEATHBED CONFESSION

The cool thing about making a deathbed confession about evidence of an extraterrestrial cover up, is that the government can’t come after you and kill you. Well, unless they can come after your ghost and kill it…which we can’t really rule out yet.

In 2016, former Canadian Minister of Defence and hero of UFOlogists the world over, Paul Hellyer revealed that a high ranking official made just such a confession.

He didn’t reveal the name of the source, just that he was a former Chief of Emergency Measures…which sort of narrows it down a bit.

According to Hellyer, the chief was taken by the CIA to Area 51, and offered the opportunity to see inside an alien craft. Apparently the official was allowed to wander around, take notes, presumably use an alien toilet. However, before he went in he was made to sign a lifetime non-disclosure agreement.

That tricksy government and their contracts.

2. THE BRITISH ARE HIDING STUFF TOO

Yeah, we all knew that there was something suspicious lurking behind that stiff upper lip. And isn’t it a little convenient that they have police boxes littered about the place that can transport people across time and space?

Well, it seems they’re part of the cover up too.

In 1980, a team of Police Security officers spotted a triangular object flying across the sky above Suffolk. A couple of nights later, beams of light were seen by military personnel at nearby RAF Bentwaters, with beams apparently probing weapons stores at the base.

The deputy base commander, Lt Col James Holy wrote a memo detailing the incident, but the Ministry of Defense shut down any further investigations, claiming the incident was “of no defense significance”.

So, basically they covered it up because it was none of their business. Lovely.

1. THE ROSWELL INCIDENT

Perhaps the best piece of evidence that the government has been covering up the existence of alien life, comes from the Roswell incident itself.

You see, while today we’re used to seeing all kinds of complex conspiracies, and false flag incidents, back in 1947, the government was still pretty new at the whole clandestine shenanigans game.

It would seem that government officials thought that the public were dumb enough just to ignore the fact that they came out and said there was an alien craft crash.

Yup, the night of the Roswell incident, government officials released word to the press that a flying saucer had been recovered in the New Mexico desert. What followed was clearly a moment of panicked flailing, and the next day they printed a retraction which went along the lines of, “oh, wait, no it was a weather balloon”.

No, US government, people are never going to forget that you told them a spacecraft crashed.

Grey Aliens: Where are they from?

About the Greys

First, I will stop referring to the grey skinned, short alien as a “Zeta”. The name was derived from the starmap shown to Betty Hill during her abduction which was later believed to show the star system Zeta Reticuli. Betty has vehemently denied that her encounter was with this type of being.

Almost everything that we know about the Greys comes from people who have been abducted by them, or with their help. Some of this information is from hypnosis therapy, but a good deal of it is from actual memories.

Although there have been over 50 different kinds of aliens reported and cataloged in abduction scenarios, the Greys have been the most common since about 1980. Greys have been witnessed working with almost all of the other species. They are usually the beings that do the actual abduction, moving their victims to locations where the other types of aliens perform tests and conduct interviews.

Greys are about 4 to 4 1/2 feet tall, have no hair, unusually large heads (especially the cranium) andpointed jaws. Their mouths are very small and seldom move. Their noses are either extremely small by human comparison or completely missing, with two small holes showing. But perhaps the signature feature of Greys are their two large, almond shaped, black eyes.

People always remark that the body of Greys is extremely thin. They appear to have no striated muscles on their arms or legs. Their necks are so thin that it is often remarked that they shouldn’t support such a large head, yet they do. Their arms are longer than humans, ending below their knees, and they have hands with only four fingers of differing lengths.

The physical descriptions of Greys is always consistent when recalled by abductees. They also report that Greys are capable of limited telepathic communication — mostly reassuring their victims that “Everything will be fine”. They seem able to put humans into a trance by staring at them and it is often reported that “they read my soul”, referring to their ability to scan the mind of their victims.

You will notice that I am using the word “victims” here, since the abductees are most often taken against their will, traumatized by painful examinations and surgical procedures, and left with mental and physical damage. Indeed, their reassurance that everything will be “fine” is the first of many deceptions.

Have YOU been abducted?

You might think this is a foolish question but it’s not. A recent survey conducted by the Roper Organization asked American subjects certain questions designed to reveal abductees. Their results showed that, back in 1998, 1 of every 50 subjects had experienced an alien abduction. Typically, abductions are on-going and often begin in childhood.

According to Dr. Karla Turner, who has worked with over 400 abduction cases and has written the book “Into the Fringe”, the abduction phenomena includes some of the following details:

• Aliens, especially Greys, can alter our perceptions of our surroundings. They can create a kind of “virtual reality” in our mind and can appear to us any number of guises and shapes. Perhaps the mental “scanning” is used to select imagery to calm the victims and substitute memories of the abduction. They can be present with us in an invisible state and can make themselves only partially visible by this same ability.
• Abductees receive marks on their bodies. Scoops of flesh are mysteriously missing and straight-line scars sometimes appear on victims’ bodies. Other marks include single punctures, multiple punctures, large bruises, three-and four fingered claw marks, and trangles of every possible sort.
• Female abductees often suffer serious gynecological problems after their alien encounters, and sometimes these problems lead to cysts, tumors, cancer of the breast and uterus, and to hysterectomies.
• Abductees report being scoffed at, jeered at, and threatened by their alien captors. Painful genital and anal probes are performed — even on young children — and unknown fluids are injected into some abductees.
• Abductees report being taken to underground facilities where they see grotesque hybrid creatures, nurseries of hybrid humanoid fetuses, and vats of colored liquid filled with parts of bodies. Other abductees report seeing other humans in these facilities being drained of blood, mutilated, flayed, dismembered, and stacked like cords of wood. Some abductees have been threatened that they, too, will end up in this condition if they don’t co-operate with their alien captors.
• Aliens have forced their human abductees to have sexual intercourse with aliens and even with other abductees while groups of aliens observe these performances. In such encounters, the aliens have sometimes disguised themselves in order to gain the cooperation of the abductee, appearing in such forms as Jesus, Blessed Mary, the Pope, certain celebrities, and even the dead spouses of the abductees. The Grey’s ability to scan our minds allows them to assess our vulnerabilities and customize the abduction experience.
• Aliens make predictions of an imminent period of global chaos and destruction. They say that a certain number of humans will be “rescued” from the planet in order to continue the species, either on another planet or back on earth after the destruction is over. Many abductees report they don’t believe their alien captors and foresee instead a much more sinister use of the “rescued” humans.
• Many alien prophesies to contactees of the 50’s and even today have failed to come true or appear to be outright lies. Many contactees and abductees today are again delivering warnings of coming earth changes and disasters along with promises of help from aliens. They feel “chosen” to deliver these messages to mankind. Again the Grey’s know their vulnerable egos can compel their cooperation. The prophesies often create false hope and dependency on their abductors whom they know little about.

OK. That’s pretty bad stuff — and very frightening. But it gets worse. So let’s get all the bad stuff out in the open before we explore the good side of Greys. The following is a well known conspiracy theory about a secret base where humans (military) and Greys work together. Apparently the Greys have the upper hand as you will see in this eye-witness account of what happened when their secret underground dwelling was accidentally disturbed.

Theories depicting Greys as evil Phil Schneider, one of three people to survive the 1979 fire fight between the large Greys, US intelligence and military at the Dulce underground base, was found dead January 1996, due to what appears to be an execution style murder. He was found dead in his apartment with a piano wire wrapped around his neck. According to sources, it appeared that he repeatedly suffered torture before he was finally killed. Seven months prior to his death , Schneider did a lecture on the forces he had discovered at Dulce.Here is his story: Back in 1954, under the Eisenhower administration, the federal government decided to circumvent the Constitution of the United States and form a treaty with alien entities. It was called the 1954 Grenada Treaty, which basically made the agreement that the aliens involved could take a few cows and test their implanting techniques on a few human beings, but that they had to give details about the people involved. Slowly, the aliens altered the bargain until they decided they wouldn’t abide by it at all. Back in 1979, this was the reality, and the fire-fight at Dulce occurred quite by accident. “I was involved in building an addition to the deep underground military base at Dulce, which is probably the deepest base. It goes down seven levels and over 2.5 miles deep. At that particular time, we had drilled four distinct holes in the desert, and we were going to link them together and blow out large sections at a time. My job was to go down the holes and check the rock samples, and recommend the explosive to deal with the particular rock. As I was headed down there, we found ourselves amidst a large cavern that was full of outer-space aliens, otherwise known as large Greys. I shot two of them. At that time, there were 30 people down there. About 40 more came down after this started, and all of them got killed. We had surprised a whole underground base of existing aliens. Later, we found out that they had been living on our planet for a long time, perhaps a million years. This could explain a lot of what is behind the theory of ancient astronauts. “Anyway, I got shot in the chest with one of their weapons, which was a box on their body, that blew a hole in me and gave me a nasty dose of cobalt radiation. I have had cancer because of that. “I didn’t get really interested in UFO technology until I started work at Area 51, north of Las Vegas. After about two years recuperating after the 1979 incident, I went back to work for Morrison and Knudson, EG&G and other companies. At Area 51, they were testing all kinds of peculiar spacecraft. We have no way of knowing if the accounts of Grey activity at Dulce, New Mexico are true. Even the local people are a bit paranoid about what lies under the nearby mountains. Strange lights are often seen and some ranchers have reported seeing steam coming from air vents in the valleys. It’s almost sure that something is under the earth — but whatever it is must be very secret.

Harvesting Souls?

Nigel Kerner has written books describing the Greys as a race of biologic robots, created long ago by some superior civilization that they outlived. Although they are self-aware, Greys are like the Tin Man in the Wizzard of Oz — only instad of a heart, Greys need our souls. Kerner describes the abduction phenomenon in terms of a “Harvest” where potential human candidates are examined and nurtured for that moment when they will have their spirit essence transferred to a waiting Grey.

This theory has some interesting support from social scientists who open our eyes to cultural trends that can only be described as pure “evil.” The widespread introduction of materialism, free pornography and secularism seem to have no other reward but to destroy personal integrity and morality. Poverty also enslaves the population and destroys the family structure. All these trends diminish our spiritual strength making our souls vulnerable and ripe for the harvest. And all these cultural shifts could well be the fruit of abductions and implanted ideologies.

As crazy as these theories sound, the abduction phenomenon is itself crazy, but very real. We should not easily dismiss the association of Greys with the underworld, decpetion and evil.“By way of deception thou shall do war.”

Next up… the other side of Greys

Next we’ll take a look at the side of Greys that some people consider beneficial to humans. We’ll see how they interact with some people to reveal future events and help our species. We’ll also see that all Greys are not alike. And some Greys are trying to correct the harm that has been inflicted on humans by their own race.

After the horrific stories of what humans have endured, and continue to endure in abductions, it seems an uphill battle to portray the Greys as benevolent and altruistic. Yet that is what many people believe. Their argument deserves consideration but requires a serious upgrade in our concept of good intentions and wise intervention.

Us and Them

Let’s get off planet Earth for a moment and consider the unimaginable vastness of the universe and its possibilities. Countless inhabited planets have evolved with intelligent life capable of technologies and philosophies that are thousands, millions or even billions of years ahead of what we understand. In this scenario we, humans, are part of the mix. We too are aliens.

While an extrateresstrial species visiting our planet must have the prerequisite understanding of the “big picture”, we don’t yet have this. In fact, we are still debating whether there is life anywhere else. Our experience with other species is limited to our interactions with the human, animal, plant and marine life on Earth, which we have routinely exploited.

Although diverse, the universe appears to have laws and patterns. Undoubtedly, intelligent beings have a pattern of evolution that can be recognized by beings who are familiar with, and have studied, a variety of inhabited worlds. The challenges faced by homo sapiens sapiens are likely not unique and extraterrestrial observers can assess our progress and pitfalls with some objectivity.

One of the “laws” of nature is that progress is the result of trial and error. Error is important — it is the great teacher. Once burnt, twice as shy. And so the concept of the Prime Directive, as introduced by Roddenberry’s Star Trek series, is valid.

This is perhaps the reason Greys do not stop wars, plagues, over population, pollution or famines. Like children, we must learn our lessons the hard way. Their apparent indifference does not justify our perception of evil intent.

But what about the abductions? Can we justify them?

Microcosm and Macrocosm

One of the reasons that the prime directive was instituted was to prevent evolving civilizations from obtaining technologies that outpaced their culture. Giving young children handguns is a recipe for a catastrophe. Our own tribal and warfare culture is experiencing this with the recent discovery of atomic fission.

What is true on Earth is also true in the universe. Unless a civilization has reached some type of peaceful wisdom or moral spirituality, interplanetary travel will bring with it those same unresolved competitive and exploitive traits. We should expect to see these same traits in some of our encounters with extraterrestrial visitors. But again, this pattern should be known and some aliens will likely try to prevent our exploitation.

I guess I am trying to paint a picture of “good” and “bad” encounters that are possible and likely have happened to us in our history. To some aliens we are seen as interesting and potentially good creatures, worthy of respect. To others we are seen as cattle. The nature of the abduction experience can thus be varied.

Greys seem to be both good and bad. This has led some to believe that they are at conflict with themselves. Abductees speak of “service to self” Greys as the bad ones and “service to others” as the good Greys. This apparent split in ideology came about in the 1980s. It is believed that the “service to self” Greys had either threatened or offered technology to the governments and military in return for their unhindered molestation of humanity and that certain “service to others” Greys revolted, forming their own camp.

Zeta Talk

The split in ideologies with Greys happened after Dr. Karla Turner’s documentation of the horrific alien abductions. Her descriptions led one to believe that the Greys were custodians or shepherds of human beings, allowing other malevolent aliens to have their way with us. Indeed Greys do appear to be the stewards of the planet. They have apparently been here a long time and have messed with us continuously.

The “service to others” Greys are a more recent phenomenon. These beings supposedly speak through selected humans, giving messages about peace, the environment and planetary change. Unfortunately, their method of communication with the public is distorted by the messengers and is greatly diluted.

I’m not sure what we can make of these kinds of interactions. Wikipedia has a list of over 40 alien contactees who have, over the years, given various predictions and information designed to save humanity. So far, the Greys track record has been abysmal. Yet each contactee apparently was sincere and took up the role of messenger with little financial reward. Many were also subjected to great ridicule, nevertheless, it seems they truly believed in the reality of their their abductions and special status.

We can only wonder why Greys — even good Greys — would treat their human associates with such disdain. Are they reallygood? Or is the whole idea about “service to others” just another deception?

Dr. Karla Turner reminds us that the Greys first claimed the abductions were to regenerate their dying species. Later they were to uplift our human species. Now they are sorry for their callous treatment and want to help us escape planetary disaster. Yet the horrific abductions and deception continues.

For now, the answer to the question of their origin remains a mystery. But their new residence is surely our planet. We can only hope that they intend to share this world with us and that they don’t have a more sinister agenda.

Scientists Dug 12 km Into Our Planet—What They Found Left Me Speechless [VIDEO]

Some call it the ‘Door to Hell’. At 12,262 meters the Kola Superdeep Borehole is the deepest artificial point on our planet. No one expected these discoveries.

There are some who firmly believe the human race knows more about distant galaxies and alien planets located light years away from Earth than what lies beneath the surface of our planet.

Curiously, it took the Voyager 1 spacecraft nearly 26 years to exit our solar system, which is about the same amount of time scientists on Earth needed to penetrate 12 kilometers into our planet’s surface.

After more than two decades, scientists created the Kola Superdeep Borehole and a drill depth of more than 7.5 miles (12 kilometers).

The Kola Superdeep Borehole reached 12,262 meters (40,230 ft) in 1989 becoming the deepest artificial point on our planet.

To put that into perspective, the Kola Superdeep Borehole descends further than the deepest point of the ocean, which lies at nearly 6.8 miles (11 kilometers).

SO, WHAT DID SCIENTISTS FIND DOWN THERE?

Well, after 26 years of intensive drilling efforts, experts found that there’s a LOT of water down there. Scientists discovered hot mineralized water almost everywhere down the drilling path.

But not only is there water down there, scientists discovered the Earth has Gas. Not that type of gas. Scientists found, helium, hydrogen, nitrogen, and even carbon dioxide (from microbes) all along the borehole.

One of the greatest surprises was that experts found there is no basalt under the continent’s granite. Scientists believed that at 9,000 meters the granite would give way to basalt. However, to their surprise, it doesn’t.

Furthermore, scientists discovered there are FOSSILS in granite located around 6,700 meters below the surface.

In addition to the above, scientists found that the temperature at the bottom of the hole reached a staggering 180 degrees celsius, officially too hot to continue, and rightfully earning the nickname ‘Door to Hell’.

But perhaps what’s even more impressive is the fact that scientists estimate that the distance to the center of our planet is nearly 4,000 miles (6,400 kilometers). Turns out, 6,500 kilometers isn’t anywhere close and what scientists managed to drill trough barely scratches the surface.

“By far the most riveting discovery from the project, however, was the detection of microscopic plankton fossils in rocks over 2 billion years old, found four miles beneath the surface,” reports Bryan Nelson from Mother Nature Network.

“These ‘microfossils’ represented about 24 ancient species, and were encased in organic compounds which somehow survived the extreme pressures and temperatures that exist so far beneath the Earth.”

The project was officially terminated in 2005, leaving only a rusted metal cap as a marker of its existence.

ALIEN SPACESHIP CRASHED IN ANTARCTICA, CLAIMS UFO HUNTER WHO BELIEVES HE HAS PROOF…BUT DO YOU BELIEVE HIM?

A RUSSIAN conspiracy theorist claims these images show the wreckage of a huge alien spaceship which crash-landed in Antarctica millions of years ago.

Valentin Degteryov posted images of the UFO, which he claims has gone undiscovered because it is covered with snow, after spotting the dark shape on Google Earth.

The UFO hunter, from Nizhny Tagil in Western Russia, says the object is 1,900-feet long.

He believes the wreckage has only become visible now because of ice melting on the earth’s most southerly continent.

A video posted by Degteryov has attracted hundreds of thousands of hits since it was uploaded yesterday.

The image was captured on Google Earth and shared by the Russian UFO fanatic on YouTube

But many dismissed his theories, and said the shape was just a rocky outcrop on a barren mountain.

Valentin listed the coordinates of the object as 73~13’55.09″S,71~57’12.98″W.

It’s not the first bizarre UFO theory to emerge based on satellite images.

DO ALIEN ROBOTS REALLY EXIST?

The existence of sentient alien robots doesn’t sound very realistic. However, the possibility cannot be negated either. What if we are living in a post-biological universe? And what if  there are extraterrestrials that have exchanged organic brains for artificial ones?

Today, the driving factor is the desire to improve one’s mental capacity. During their evolution process, it is likely that aliens may have exhausted their potential of having biological brains. They may have opted for robotic brains with artificial intelligence. This swap is possible for humans too.

In recent decades, with computer revolution, supercomputers are performing a quadrillion calculation per second. According to a study conducted by Hans Moravec, an artificial intelligence expert at the Carnegie Mellon University, human brain can calculate up to 100 trillion calculations per second. Some scientists believe that an event called technological singularity will take place and machines with computer brains will surpass human intelligence.

In fact, civilizations with technology light years ahead of us may have already experienced this singularity millions of years ago.

DOES ROBOTIC RACE EXIST?

The question that still looms around is how likely a robotic race exists? With the given limitations of biology, the cultural evolution, and the imperative to improve intelligence, the chances are greater than 50/50. With this in mind, if post-biological beings do exist, they may not be interested in us at all. However, the gulf that exists between their minds and ours can be so much that communication is impossible.

According to Michael Dyer, a professor of computer science at the University of California, Los Angeles, “If an extraterrestrial spaceship ever lands on earth, then what comes out of that ship will be synthetic in nature.”

Scientists affirm that in advanced civilizations, it is likely that the machines could have supplanted their biological creators as far as space travel is concerned because automatons can withstand the hazards to living tissue and the strain imposed on social fabrics during their space journey. Further to this study, non-living beings do not have to worry about environmental conditions of the planet.

Dyer has identified four paths that can eventually lead to the substitution of humans and other biological likes. The first path is through dependence. Increasing reliance on machines to do our work will give way to robots. 

The second path is the use of Terminators or cybernetic fighting forces by nations. Dyer adds, “Each country builds intelligent and autonomous robots for combat purposes. Enemies lose because they have no control over the robots that are fighting them.”

The third path is that of machine supremacy which is likely to happen when our brain-based consciousness transfers to synthetic media.

The fourth and the last path is through travel into interstellar space. It will occur when space travel is difficult for natural bodies. On the other hand, robots will find space travel easier as they can stay dormant and can be awakened with the help of a simple timer. Even if some planets are inhospitable for living bodies, the robots will remain unaffected by the planetary conditions. Similarly, space radiation will not affect machines.

No matter how these devices may end up in charge, their expansion into space seems inevitable at this point of time.

THE WEIRDEST SWANSEA UFO SIGHTINGS THAT DEFY EXPLANATION

The truth could be out there in Swansea on Saturday.

Swansea UFO Network (SUFON) is holding it’s summer Conference on Saturday at the New Lodge, Alexandra Road, in Gorseinon, with an invitation to come along and hear about some local mysteries.

There will be three visiting speakers, David Cayton, David Hodrien and Colin Woolford, all of whom are well known in the UFO field, and who will be speaking on a variety of subjects, from UFOs seen over Jodrell Bank Radio Telescope, cases involving UFOs and the RAF, how the subject and personal experiences has influenced notable names in the music industry, and the controversial alien autopsy film.

Tickets for the conference, which runs from 11am to 5pm, are £10 each and available on the door.

Emlyn Williams, a spokesman for SUFON, said there would be plenty of local sightings to discuss.

He said: “This year sees the 40th anniversary of one of the most famous UFO flaps in Britain, that coined the Welsh Triangle, and SUFON organised a conference last February at Broad Haven in Pembrokeshire , site of one of the best known cases during that flap when a group of school children saw a landed craft just outside the school playground.”

The Night of the Triangles:

“One case which is being looked at by SUFON is the one which occurred on the evening of January 19, 1983, when dozens of witnesses in the Swansea and Port Talbot area (over 60 recorded so far), saw huge black triangular-shaped craft, some the size of jumbo jets, some the size of a family car, hovering silently just over roof-tops, two of which moved slowly and silently over Swansea Bay, and one possibly causing a power failure in Bishopston.”

“We call it The Night of the Triangles and we are tracking down many of the witnesses, and filming interviews which have been put on SUFON’s YouTube channel. Two witnesses were CID inspectors making a house call in the Trallwn area of Swansea who saw a huge craft ‘about the size of a football pitch’ moving over the valley and heading towards the coast.”

The refinery incident:

“Another sighting that evening, from a family at home in Skewen , was of a gigantic triangle – which moved from Kilvey Hill to Llandarcy in an instant, and which then hovered over the BP oil refinery. The size was truly huge, covering much of the refinery!”

The vanishing cigar:

“Another large and very strange case was of a massive black cigar-shaped object which hovered silently over the newly-built Singleton Hospital in Swansea, on a November evening in 1965, causing the lights on all the floors to flash on and off. A green line appeared in the middle of the object, which spread right around it, and the whole thing just disappeared in an instant in front of witnesses’ eyes.”

Mr Williams added: “It is safe to say that there have been and still are, very strange things going on in our skies.”

Worm Grows 2 Heads in Space, Surprising Scientists

An amputated flatworm fragment sent to space regenerated into a double-headed worm, a rare spontaneous occurrence of double-headedness.

The regenerative power of flatworms — which can regrow into complete individuals after they've been cut into pieces — is well-known among scientists. But a group of flatworms that recently visited the International Space Station (ISS) had a few surprises to share when they returned to Earth.

Scientists sent the worms into space to observe how microgravity and fluctuations in the geomagnetic field might affect the worms' unusual ability to regenerate. This was done to better understand how living in space could affect cell activity.

Compared with a group of flatworms that never left Earth, the spacefaring worms showed some unexpected effects from their time off the planet: most notably, the rare sprouting of a second head in an amputated piece of a worm, the researchers documented in a new study. Planarian flatworms (Dugesia japonica) are very flat and tiny, measuring about 0.2 to 0.4 inches (0.5 to 1 centimeter) in length, study co-author Michael Levin, a professor of biology at Tufts University in Massachusetts, told Live Science in an email. (Levin is also the director of the Allen Discovery Center at Tufts and the Tufts Center for Regenerative and Developmental Biology.)

One flatworm could result in multitudes, under the right conditions. Individuals can perform fission — dividing to form two distinct individuals — and severed flatworms can grow new heads or tails, depending on where the body was cut. To find out how factors such as gravity and Earth's magnetic field affect the worms' ability to regrow themselves, scientists sent sets of whole worms and amputated worms to the ISS for five weeks, the study authors wrote. Researchers sealed the worms inside tubes with varying ratios of air and water, and then observed the animals when they came back, the authors wrote.

Return of the regenerating space worms

After the worms returned, the researchers tracked changes in the animals' bodies and in their microbes, comparing the test worms with flatworms that had never left Earth. And the researchers continued observing the worms over 20 months, to see whether any changes were long-lasting.

The scientists found several significant differences between the flatworms that went to space and the Earth-bound worms. For instance, during the first hour of immersion in containers of fresh spring water, the spacefaring worms appeared to experience "water shock"; they curled up and were "somewhat paralyzed and immobile," the researchers wrote, suggesting that the worms underwent metabolic changes while in space. The space-y flatworms exhibited normal behavior after about 2 hours, but further analysis revealed that their microbial communities had changed, hinting at metabolic shifts caused by the unusual conditions the worms encountered on the ISS, the study authors wrote.

Worms returning from five weeks in space curled up and were immobile when transferred to petri dishes containing fresh spring water. By contrast, stay-at-home control worms moved rapidly and fully extended themselves.

Spacefaring worms also demonstrated a change in behavior. When both groups were introduced to illuminated "arenas" in petri dishes, the worms that went to space were less inclined to seek out the dish's darker portion, the scientists found.

But the most dramatic difference was a type of regeneration observed in one of the 15 worm fragments sent to the ISS. That worm returned to the scientists with two heads (one on each end of its body), a type of regeneration so rare as to be practically unheard of — "normal flatworms in water never do this," Levin told Live Science. When the researchers snipped both heads off back on Earth, the middle portion regenerated into a two-headed worm again.

"And these differences persist well over a year after return to Earth!" Levin said. "Those could have been caused by loss of the geomagnetic field, loss of gravity, and the stress of takeoff and landing — all components of any space-travel experience for living systems going to space in the future," he said.

At first glance, these tiny regenerating worms may not appear to share much in common with the human astronauts currently on board the ISS. But the worms offer valuable insights into how living in space can affect cells and microbial communities in organisms, which could help scientists understand the impacts of space travel on human bodies, Levin explained.

"Scientists know a lot about biochemical signals that allow cells to cooperate to build and repair a complex body. However, the physical forces involved in this process are not well-understood," he said.

Studying flatworms could offer insights into how biological systems in living creatures interact with gravity and the geomagnetic field, "which in turn will not only help us optimize future space travel, but will [also] shed light on basic mechanisms that will have implications for regenerative medicine therapies on Earth and in space," Levin added.

The findings were published online today (June 13) in the journal Regeneration.

Crop circles — strange patterns that appear mysteriously overnight in farmers' fields—provoke puzzlement, delight and intrigue among the press and public alike. The circles are mostly found in the United Kingdom, but have spread to dozens of countries around the world in past decades. The mystery has inspired countless books, blogs, fan groups, researchers (dubbed "cereologists") and even Hollywood films. 

Despite having been studied for decades, the question remains: Who — or what — is making them? 

Early crop circles

Many people believe that crop circles have been reported for centuries, a claim repeated in many books and websites devoted to the mystery. Their primary piece of evidence is a woodcut from 1678 that appears to show a field of oat stalks laid out in a circle. Some take this to be a first-hand eyewitness account of a crop circle, but a little historical investigation shows otherwise.

The woodcut actually illustrates what in folklore is called a "mowing devil" legend, in which an English farmer told a worker with whom he was feuding that he "would rather pay the Devil himself" to cut his oat field than pay the fee demanded. The source of the harvesting is not unknown or mysterious; it is indeed Satan himself, who — complete with signature horns and a tail — can be seen in the woodcut holding a scythe. 

Some claim that the first crop circles (though they were not called that at the time) appeared near the small town of Tully, Australia. In 1966, a farmer said he saw a flying saucer rise up from a swampy area and fly away; when he went to investigate he saw a roughly circular area of debris and apparently flattened reeds and grass, which he assumed had been made by the alien spacecraft (but which police investigators said was likely caused by a natural phenomena such as a dust devil or waterspout). Referred in the press as "flying saucer nests," this story is more a UFO report than a crop circle report. 

As in the 1678 mowing devil legend, the case for it being linked to crop circles is especially weak when we consider that the impression or formation was not made in a crop of any kind but instead in ordinary grass. A round impression in a lawn or grassy area is not necessarily mysterious (as anyone with a kiddie pool in the back yard knows). Indeed, mysterious circles have appeared in grass throughout the world that are sometimes attributed to fairies but instead caused by disease. 

Modern crop circles

In fact, the first real crop circles didn't appear until the 1970s, when simple circles began appearing in the English countryside. The number and complexity of the circles increased dramatically, reaching a peak in the 1980s and 1990s when increasingly elaborate circles were produced, including those illustrating complex mathematical equations. 

In July 1996, one of the world's most complex and spectacular crop circles appeared in England, across a highway from the mysterious and world-famous Stonehenge monument in the Wiltshire countryside. It was astonishing fractal pattern called a Julia Set, and while some simple or rough circles might be explained away as the result of a strange weather phenomenon, this one unmistakably demonstrated intelligence. The only question was whether that intelligence was terrestrial or extra-terrestrial. 

Making the design all the more mysterious, it was claimed that the circle appeared in less than an hour and during the daytime — which, if true, would be virtually impossible for hoaxers to accomplish. The circle became one of the most famous and important crop circles in history. 

It was later revealed that the circle had in fact been made in about three hours (by three hoaxers) very early that morning. It simply hadn't been noticed until the following afternoon when spotted from an airplane overhead.

Theories & explanations

Unlike other mysterious phenomenon such as psychic powers, ghosts, or Bigfoot, there is no doubt that crop circles are "real." The evidence that they exist is clear and overwhelming. The real question is instead what creates them — and there are ways to investigate that question.

We can look at both internal and external evidence to evaluate crop circles. Internal information includes the content and meaning of the designs (is there anything that indicates that any information contained in the "messages" is of extraterrestrial origin?), and external information, including the physical construction of the crop designs themselves (is there anything that indicates that the designs were created by anything other than humans?)

Crop circle enthusiasts have come up with many theories about what create the patterns, ranging from the plausible to the absurd. One explanation in vogue in the early 1980s was that the mysterious circle patterns were accidentally produced by the especially vigorous sexual activity of horny hedgehogs. Some people have suggested that the circles are somehow created by localized and precise wind patterns, or by scientifically undetectable Earth energy fields and meridians called ley lines. 

Others, such as molecular biologist Horace Drew, suggest that the answer lies instead in time travel or alien life. He theorizes that the patterns could be made by human time travelers from the distant future to help them navigate our planet. Drew, working on the assumption that the designs are intended as messages, believes he has decoded crop circle symbols and that they contain messages such as "Believe," "There is good out there," "Beware the bearers of false gifts and their broken promises," and "We oppose deception" (all, presumably, in English).

However, these odd, pseudo-biblical messages undermine the credibility of the crop circles, or at least the meaning read into them. Of all the information that an extraterrestrial intelligence might choose to convey to humanity — ranging from how to contact them to engineering secrets of faster-than-light travel — these aliens chose to impart intentionally cryptic messages about false gifts, broken promises, and hope for mankind (along with what seems to be a reference to a popular "The X-Files" slogan). 

Many who favor an extraterrestrial explanation claim that aliens physically make the patterns themselves from spaceships; others suggest that they do it using invisible energy beams from space, saving them the trip down here. Still others believe that it is human, not extraterrestrial, thought and intelligence that is behind the patterns — not in the form of hoaxers but some sort of global psychic power that manifests itself in wheat and other crops.

While there are countless theories, the only known, proven cause of crop circles is humans. Their origin remained a mystery until September 1991, when two men confessed that they had created the patterns for decades as a prank to make people think UFOs had landed (they had been inspired by the 1966 Tully UFO report). They never claimed to have made all the circles — many were copycat pranks done by others — but their hoax launched the crop circle phenomena. 

Most crop circle researchers admit that the vast majority of crop circles are created by hoaxers. But, they claim, there's a remaining tiny percentage that they can't explain. The real problem is that (despite unproven claims by a few researchers that stalks found inside "real" crop circles show unusual characteristics), there is no reliable scientific way to distinguish "real" crop circles from man-made ones. 

Crop circle features

While there are always a few exceptions, virtually all crop circles share a set of common characteristics. 

Circles. Crop circles, as the name implies, almost always involve circles — rarely triangles, rectangles, or squares, though some designs contain straight or curved lines. Perhaps not coincidentally, a circle is the easiest pattern for hoaxers to create.

Nocturnal creation. Crop circles are formed overnight, often sighted by farmers or passersby the next morning. Though there seems no logical reason for extraterrestrials or earth energies to only create patterns at night, it is obviously a great advantage for hoaxers to create the designs under the cover of darkness; full moon nights are especially popular. 

Camera shyness. Crop circles have never been recorded being made (except, of course, for those created by hoaxers). This is a very suspicious trait; after all, if mysterious earthly forces or aliens are at work, there's no reason to think that they wouldn't happen when cameras are recording. 

Access to roads. Crop circles usually appear in fields that provide reasonably easy public access, close to roads and highways. They rarely appear in remote, inaccessible areas. Because of this, the patterns are usually noticed within a day or two of their creation by passing motorists. 

There are many theories about what creates crop circles, including aliens, mysterious vortices, time travelers and wind patterns, but they all lack one important element: good evidence. The only known cause of crop circles is humans. Perhaps one day a mysterious, unknown source will be discovered for crop circles, but until the perhaps they are best thought of as collective public art.

SCIENTISTS SHOCKED AS WORM GREW 'TWO HEADS' WHILE IN SPACE!

Something truly unusual happened in space a while ago, and no it's not about aliens or rough planets. Scientists have been experimenting with all sorts of things in space, and some results of these experiments have been quite fascinating.

One of these experiments was taking flatworms on board a space station to study how their regeneration would react in low gravity. But the most unusual thing happened!  

A flatworm was sliced at one end, but the regeneration process went on a little different than expected, as the intact end had a head and then the other regenerated end grew a second head. The two-headed worm shock scientists when it came back to Earth, and it still remains a mystery on how it happened.

“The process of regeneration is normally 100 per cent accurate – they never make two-headed worms in the wild.”  

Scientists cut the worms new head off and by their surprise it grew back again, therefore, the effects persisted even after arriving on Earth. What could have caused this? Low gravity? Some sort of cosmic radiation?

“Remarkably, amputating this double-headed worm again, in plain water, resulted again in the double-headed phenotype. Moreover, even when tested 20 months after return to Earth, the space-exposed worms displayed significant quantitative differences in behavior and microbiome composition.”

SCIENTISTS SAY OUR SOLAR SYSTEM ONCE HAD TWO SUNS

When the sun was born 4.5 billion years ago it had a twin, but this was not an identical twin. This was the same with every other star in the universe says new analysis from a theoretical physicist from UC Berkeley along with a Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory at Harvard University, radio astronomer.  

It seems that many stars do have companions and this includes one of the nearest neighbors to Earth, Alpha Centauri, which is a system with triplets. Astronomers have been trying to find an explanation and have been asking questions such as whether binary and triplet star systems are born that way and whether one star had captured another and even if binary stars split up and turn into single stars.

ASTRONOMERS HAVE SEARCHED FOR COMPANION TO EARTHS SUN

Astronomers have in the past looked for a companion to the sun of Earth, this is a star with the name of Nemesis and it was said to have kicked an asteroid into the orbit of Earth that had collided with our planet and this is what had exterminated the dinosaurs, but it has not been found.

In Our Solar System There is now a new assertion that has been based on a radio survey that a huge molecular cloud that was filled with stars that have recently formed with the name of constellation Perseus. A mathematical model that is able to explain the observations of Perseus only if all stars that are sun-like have been born with a companion.

Steven Stahler, a research astronomer from UC Berkeley said that there probably was a Nemesis a long time ago. He went on to say that they had run a statistical model to try to find out if they could account for relative populations of single young stars along with the binaries of separations in the molecular cloud Perseus. He went on to say that the only model that was able to reproduce the data had been the one where all of the stars formed as wide binaries initially. The systems then either broke apart or shrank in a million years.

Stahler went on to explain that the term wide in the study applied to when two stars became separated by 500 astronomical units or more, or AU, which is one astronomical unit being the average distance between the Earth and the sun, around 93 million miles. He said that a wide binary companion to the sun would need to be more than17 times further away from the sun that Neptune, the most distant planet.

Based on the model the sibling of the sun is more than likely to have escaped and then mixed with other stars in the Milky Way’s region and never seen again.

SCIENTISTS ASK HOW MANY STARS FORM WITH A COMPANION

Sarah Sadavoy, first author and NASA Hubble Fellow at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory said that this is not the first time that the idea that stars form with a companion has been suggested. But one of the biggest questions is how many. She went on to say that based on a simple model they said that almost all stars do form with a companion. The Perseus cloud is thought to be a typical loss-mass star-forming region, but she said that their model would need to be checked in other clouds.

Stahler and Sadavoy posted what they had found in April and a paper is going to be published in the Royal Astronomical Society. Astronomers have been speculating about the binary and multiple star systems origins for hundreds of years and only in more recent years have they created computer simulations of masses of gas that collapse, to help them understand just how they condense under the gravity into stars. A simulation has also been made of young stars that have been freed from gas clouds. Several years ago a computer simulation was made by Pavel Kroupa at the University of Bonn and this led him to reach the conclusion that all of the stars are born as binaries.  

However, direct evidence from observations has been scarce and astronomers have looked at stars that are younger and younger and have found a large proportion of binaries, but they have no idea why. Stahler said that the key was that no one had looked in a systematic way at any relation between the young stars and the clouds that they had come from. He went on to say that their work had been a step forward towards understanding how binaries are able to form and the role that they had played during stellar evolution. Stahler said that they were now of the belief that most of the stars, which are similar to the Sun, form as binaries and admitted that they have the strongest evidence yet.

RADIO TELESCOPES CAN BE USED TO PROBE CLOUDS

Astronomers have known for decades that any star that is born in a cocoon that is egg shaped, which is called dense cores, and they are sprinkled through the large clouds of molecular cold hydrogen, which play nursery for the young stars. Using an optical telescope, the clouds do look like they are a hole in the starry sky due to the fact that the dust that accompanies the gas is blocking the light from the stars that form inside and those that form behind. Radio telescopes may be used to probe the clouds as the cold dust grains emit at the same radio wavelengths and the dust does not block the radio waves.   

PERSEUS MOLECULAR CLOUD WAS STUDIED 600 LIGHT YEARS FROM EARTH

The Perseus molecular cloud is a stellar nursery and it is around 600 light-years away from the Earth and perhaps 50 light years long. A team of astronomers recently undertook a survey and made use of the Very Large Array, to take a look inside the cloud at the star formations. The survey had the name of VANDAM and it was the first survey to be completed of all of the young stars in the molecular cloud. This is stars that are less than 4 million years old and which include multiple and single stars, right down to separations of 15 astronomical units. It was able to capture multiple stars that had a separation of more than the radius of 19 AU, the orbit of Uranus, in the solar system.

The mathematically modeled scenarios of Stahler and Sadavoy explain the stars distribution, taking into account the typical formation, the breakup and orbital shrinking times. They reached the conclusion that the only way they are able to explain the observations was to assume that all of the masses of the stars around the sun begin as wide Class 0 binaries, in dense egg shaped cores, then some of them, around 60% split over time, with the remainder shrinking to make tight binaries.

Stahler went on to say that while the new data and the model are the first steps, more work has to be done to understand the physics. He also said that studies would come along soon thanks to the new capabilities of the VLA and ALMA telescopes in Chile, which have been upgraded. He also mentioned the SCUBA-2 survey in Hawaii and said that it is giving them the statistics along with data that is needed and it would change how scientists and astronomers understand dense cores and the stars that are embedded in them.

Musk zet stappenplan voor kolonisatie van Mars nu ook op papier

In een paper – verschenen in het blad New Space – onthult hij nauwgezet hoe we miljoenen mensen op de rode planeet kunnen krijgen.

Het paper heeft de veelzeggende titel ‘Making Humans a Multi-Planetary Species‘ gekregen en is tot begin juli gratis te lezen. Musk doet in het paper uit de doeken waarom hij naar Mars wil en wat er allemaal bij komt kijken. Maar wat de multimiljardair vooral duidelijk wil maken, is een boodschap die door het hele paper resoneert: miljoenen mensen naar Mars sturen is mogelijk.

OVER HET PAPER

Musk deed zijn plannen voor een interplanetaire bemande ruimtereis vorig jaar al uit de doeken tijdens een conferentie in Mexico. Het paper – voor iedereen inzichtelijk – kan gezien worden als een gedetailleerde samenvatting van zijn toespraak.

Waarom Mars?
“Soms vragen mensen zich af: ‘Er zijn toch nog andere plekken in het zonnestelsel? Waarom Mars?’,” zo schrijft Musk. Simpel: omdat er eigenlijk geen andere opties zijn. Venus is dichtbij, maar allesbehalve prettig om te wonen en werken. “Dan is er nog Mercurius, maar dat is veel te dicht bij de zon. We zouden naar één van de manen van Jupiter of Saturnus kunnen gaan, maar die zijn ver weg, veel verder van de zon, en veel lastiger te bereiken. Dus er blijft eigenlijk maar één optie over als we een multi-planetaire soort willen worden en dat is Mars. We zouden ook naar de maan kunnen gaan en ik heb echt niets tegen de maan, maar ik denk dat het lastig is om een multi-planetaire soort te worden op de maan, omdat deze veel kleiner is dan een planeet. De maan heeft geen atmosfeer. En is niet zo rijk aan grondstoffen als Mars. De dag duurt er 28 dagen, terwijl de Marsdag 24,5 uur duurt. Over het algemeen is Mars veel geschikter om op te schalen naar een zelfvoorzienende beschaving.”

De financiën
Dat diverse ruimtevaartorganisaties al uitgebreid onderzoek gedaan hebben naar Mars helpt natuurlijk ook mee. Zo is er reeds onderzoek gedaan naar de atmosfeer van de rode planeet, de locatie van ijs en andere belangrijke grondstoffen, geschikte landingsplaatsen, enzovoort. Die kennis is heel waardevol als we een kolonie op Mars willen stichten, maar het is niet genoeg. Want de grootste hindernis als het gaat om het stichten van een kolonie op Mars is volgens Musk…geld. “Neem het Apollo-programma als voorbeeld: de kosten ervan liggen tussen de 100 en 200 miljard hedendaagse dollars en we stuurden 12 mensen naar het oppervlak van de maan.” Dat betekent dat die tickets een slordige 10 miljard kosten. Dat is niet goedkoop. En een ticket naar Mars zou waarschijnlijk nog iets duurder zijn. Maar weinigen kunnen zich zo’n ticket veroorloven. Dus dan lijkt het stichten van een miljoenen hoofden tellende kolonie al onmogelijk. De grootste uitdaging begint zich af te tekenen: de kosten moeten omlaag. “Als we de kosten van de verhuizing naar Mars grofweg gelijk kunnen maken aan de kosten van een gemiddeld huis in de VS – dat rond de 200.000 dollar kost – dan denk ik dat het heel waarschijnlijk is dat we een zelfvoorzienende samenleving op Mars kunnen stichten.”

“ER ZIJN HEEL VEEL RISICO’S. HET GAAT VEEL GELD KOSTEN”

Lagere kosten
Maar ja, hoe breng je die kosten omlaag? “Dat is niet gemakkelijk. Het klinkt onmogelijk, maar dat is het niet.” Musk somt een aantal maatregelen op die genomen moeten worden om Mars toegankelijk te maken voor een groot publiek:

– Hergebruik
Alles moet hergebruikt worden: van raketten tot ruimteschepen. Hij illustreert het effect dat dat heeft op de kosten aan de hand van een voorbeeldje. Stel je vliegt van Los Angeles naar Vegas. Dat kost je 43 dollar. Die kosten zijn laag, omdat het vliegtuig nog tal van deze ritjes gaat maken. Zou het vliegtuig na één rit worden gesloopt, dan zou datzelfde ritje je 500.000 dollar kosten. Natuurlijk is het veel gemakkelijker om de kosten van een vliegtuig terug te verdienen dan het is om de kosten van bijvoorbeeld een ruimtevaartuig terug te verdienen. Want een ruimtevaartuig zal, omdat je niet op elk moment naar Mars kunt vliegen, veel minder vaak – hooguit elke 2 jaar – passagiers vervoeren.
– Tanken in een baan rond de aarde
Hierdoor is het geheel van raket en ruimtevaartuig lichter bij lancering. En daardoor is de lancering goedkoper.
– Brandstof produceren op Mars
Dan kunnen de ruimtevaartuigen weer terugkeren naar aarde, noodzakelijk als we ze willen hergebruiken.
– Een slimme keuze maken als het gaat om de brandstof
De opslag en productie van die brandstof moet zo goedkoop mogelijk.

Uiteindelijk zou het met deze maatregelen mogelijk moeten zijn om mensen voor een bedrag lager dan 200.000 dollar te lanceren. En op termijn kan een ticket zelfs rond de 100.000 dollar gaan kosten. “Er is echt een manier om ervoor te zorgen dat iedereen die wil gaan, kan gaan.”

Het ruimteschip
In het paper doet Musk verder uit de doeken hoe het interplanetaire ruimteschip en de raket die deze naar Mars moet brengen er ongeveer uit zou moeten zien. Hij verwacht het ruimteschip met een jaar of vier wel gebouwd te hebben. En als het allemaal echt meezit, zou het mogelijk moeten zijn om dat ruimteschip met een jaar of tien op een geschikte raket te plaatsen. “Er zijn heel veel risico’s. Het gaat veel geld kosten. En er is een grote kans dat het ons niet gaat lukken, maar we gaan ons best doen om zoveel mogelijk vooruitgang te boeken,” schrijft Musk.

De tijdlijn die Musk voor ogen heeft.

Wanneer het eerste met mensen gevulde ruimtevaartuig van Musk naar Mars vertrekt, is dus niet helemaal helder. Dat het hoogstwaarschijnlijk wel ergens de komende decennia gaat gebeuren, lijkt als een paal boven water te staan. Uiteindelijk hoopt Musk zeker 1000 ruimtevaartuigen te bouwen die met 100 mensen of meer aan boord elke twee jaar naar Mars vliegen. Het moet zo mogelijk zijn om in een tijdsbestek van 40 tot 100 jaar een zelfvoorzienende kolonie van 1 miljoen mensen of meer op Mars te krijgen.

A 3D-Printed Rocket Engine Just Launched a New Era of Space Exploration

The rocket that blasted into space from New Zealand on May 25 was special. Not only was it the first to launch from a private site, it was also the first to be powered by an engine made almost entirely using 3D printing. This might not make it the "first 3D-printed rocket in space" that some headlines described it as, but it does highlight how seriously this manufacturing technique is being taken by the space industry.

Members of the team behind the Electron rocket at US company Rocket Lab say the engine was printed in 24 hours and provides efficiency and performance benefits over other systems. There's not yet much information out there regarding the exact details of the 3D-printed components. But it's likely many of them have been designed to minimise weight while maintaining their structural performance, while other components may have been optimised to provide efficient fluid flow. These advantages – reducing weight and the potential for complex new designs – are a large part of why 3D printing is expected to find some of its most significant applications in space exploration, with dramatic effect.

One thing the set of technologies known as additive manufacturing or 3D printing does really well is to produce highly complicated shapes. For example, lattice structures produced in exactly the right way so that they weigh less but are just as strong as similar solid components. This creates the opportunity to produce optimised, lightweight parts that were previously impossible to manufacture economically or efficiently with more traditional techniques.

Boeing's microlattice is an example of taking this to the extreme, supposedly producing mechanically sound structures that are 99.9 percent air. Not all 3D printing processes can achieve this, but even weight savings of a few percent in aircraft and spacecraft can lead to major benefits through the use of less fuel.

3D printing tends to work best for the production of relatively small, intricate parts rather than large, simple structures, where the higher material and processing costs would outweigh any advantage. For example, a redesigned nozzle can enhance fuel mixing within an engine, leading to better efficiency. Increasing the surface area of a heat shield by using a patterned rather than a flat surface can mean heat is transferred away more efficiently, reducing the chances of overheating.

The techniques can also reduce the amount of material wasted in manufacturing, important because space components tend to be made from highly expensive and often rare materials. 3D printing can also produce whole systems in one go rather than from lots of assembled parts. For example, NASA used it to reduce the components in one of its rocket injectors from 115 to just two. Plus, 3D printers can easily make small numbers of a part – as the space industry often needs – without first creating expensive manufacturing tools.

In orbit

3D printers are also likely to find a use in space itself, where it's difficult to keep large numbers of spare parts and hard to send out for replacements when you're thousands of kilometres from Earth. There's now a 3D printer on the International Space Station so, if something breaks, engineers can send up a design for a replacement and the astronauts can print it out.

The current printer only deals with plastic so it's more likely to be used for making tools or one-off replacements for low-performance parts such as door handles. But once 3D printers can more easily use other materials, we're likely to see an increase in their uses. One day, people in space could produce their own food items and even biological materials. Recycling facilities could also enable broken parts to be reused to make the replacements.

Looking even further ahead, 3D printers could prove useful in building colonies. Places like the moon don't have much in the way of traditional building materials, but the European Space Agency has proven solar energy can power the production of "bricks" of lunar dust, which would be a good start. Researchers are now looking at how to use 3D printing to take this idea further and develop complete printed buildings on the moon.

To make many of these applications a reality, we'll need to research more advanced materials and processes that can manufacture components to withstand the extremely harsh conditions of space. Engineers also need to work on developing optimised designs and find ways of testing 3D printed parts to prove they're safe. And then there's the irritating issue of gravity, or rather the lack of it. Many current processes use powders or liquids as their raw materials so we're likely to need some clever tricks in order to make these function safely in a low or microgravity environment.

Some of these barriers may even require entirely new materials and techniques. But as research goes on, 3D printing is likely to be used more and more in space, even if a fully printed space vehicle isn't going to launch any time soon. The sky is no longer the limit.

UFO spotted over Bannockburn - with woman claiming it was 100 foot long

The 'spaceship' was spotted over Hillpark by a local resident.

A Bannockburn woman who spotted a UFO flying over the town says she has been left unable to sleep at night.

The Stirling Observer reported last week that the eagle-eyed stargazer spotted the unfamiliar craft hovering between houses on Thursday, March 16 this year and reported it to UFO authority the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) — an American-based non-profit organization that investigates cases of alleged UFO sightings.

The 42-year old contacted the Observer to detail her jaw-dropping sighting in Hillpark, Bannockburn.

She said: “The size of it was unreal. It was about 20ft away from and I’d say it was about 100ft in diameter.

“I love looking at the sky, I do it all the time.

“For about a week, I could see lights in the sky. I could see that it had windows and had red lights flashing.

“Even if it was a military thing, why was it coming down a quiet street?

“I know it sounds crazy, but I would say it was a spaceship.

“I thought it was an aeroplane at first but when it tilted forwards it was a circular shape.

“I could see writing on the top of it as well, like Egyptian hieroglyphs.

“It has been a few sleepless nights for me since it.

“I was kind of in to UFOs and that sort of thing a bit before.

“When I saw it in between the two houses, I had to run in to the house because I was a bit scared.

“I went back out for another look and it wasn’t moving very fast and there was no noise coming from it.”

A second man contacted the Observer to say that he too has spotted an unexplained sight in the sky over Stirling.

He says that he spotted a black triangular shaped object in the sky looking north from Stirling.

Another sighting was spotted in Carron near Falkirk in April this year.

The eyewitness told the Observer: “Almost immediately I saw two lights which appeared in a slight ‘puff’ of something. They were quickly joined by another three of the same,and started to fly erratically in a southerly direction. They flew like swallows do at their most agile, ducking and diving, and looked like they were having fun. They did not look like they were here to take over the planet or impose any threat.

“They were squashed horseshoe shaped with a translucence around the horseshoe shape with yellowish light.

“I’d estimate they were about a kilometre away — perhaps above the Kelpies. I watched them for about 12 seconds until they disappeared beyond the range of my vision and may have been joined by a sixth craft from seemingly out of nowhere but by that time it was difficult to tell because they were moving so fast and weaving in and out of each other, then they were gone.

“I picked up the binoculars in case they came back. I waited for a while and then left them on the window ledge to remind me that it wasn’t a dream.”

World’s deepest zoo harbors clues to extraterrestrial life

Maggie Lau works in a gold mine. But what she seeks here, more than a kilometer and a half (a mile) below the South African surface, may be more precious than gold. She’s looking for life.

It’s not easy work, lit only by headlamps. At times, it can feel as hot and humid as a sauna. Some spots smell like rotten eggs, due to sulfide gas emanating from holes dug in the rock.

Until about 20 years ago, scientists weren’t even sure if life existed deep below Earth’s surface. Then in 1992, Tullis Onstott and his colleagues discovered bacteria growing on the rocks retrieved from some 3 kilometers underground. Those rocks were more than 200 million years old, at least as old as the earliest dinosaurs. And the bacteria they analyzed may have survived from that time, Onstott now says.

He’s a geomicrobiologist — a scientist who studies how microbes interact with rocks and minerals. He heads the lab at Princeton University, in New Jersey, where Lau is now a graduate student.

Scientists like Lau and Onstott now travel the world over in search of deep life. They go deep underground in mines or caverns. They drill beneath the ocean floor and in oil fields. Some of these places are near-freezing; others are hotter than Death Valley.

“The challenge is in the hunt,” says Onstott. “It’s a fantastic journey.”

And these hunts are turning up a whole zoo of microscopic creatures. Some of the deeply buried critters feed on toxic chemicals such as arsenic and uranium. One day, other scientists might tap them to clean up toxic waste. Other microbes might produce useful substances, such as new types of germ-killing medicines known as antibiotics. And perhaps most intriguing, these organisms could also help biologists learn about life beyond Earth — true extraterrestrials.

Life in the depths

To reach her research site in South Africa, Lau has to drop down a mine shaft in a cage. It descends the nearly mile down in about a minute. That’s so quick that Lau’s ears pop, making it feel like she’s on an amusement park ride.

Next, Lau may walk or even crawl another 1.5 kilometers through narrow corridors. Some are flooded with water, which she’ll have to wade through. Through it all, Lau and her colleagues carry heavy backpacks and wear knee-high boots and overalls. “Some of my friends joke that we look like the Ghostbusters,” she says.

In her search for new life, Lau collects water from bore holes. These are narrow holes drilled deep into the ground, usually to explore for minerals, natural gas or oil. Sometimes these bore holes tap into underground water. That water can be as hot as 54 degrees Celsius (130 degrees Fahrenheit). At some sites, even the rocks can be warm to touch.

As she sits on the hard, rocky ground and collects water in different-sized bottles, Lau can get splashed anywhere and everywhere with the hot water. “As you collect it,” she says, “you get wet, and you feel like you have been through a water fight.” After this tiring work, “You’re physically and mentally exhausted.” Although “intense,” Lau adds that it also is “very rewarding.”

This water once flowed on the planet’s surface. Although the ground looks solid, it’s more like Swiss cheese. Tiny holes all over allow the water to flow through and down, down, down. But this is a very slow process. Water from the surface may take thousands of years to trickle down to where Lau now works. Some of the water she studies is more than 50,000 years old. And on its travels, that water may have collected living creatures.

There’s very little life in this extreme environment. But Lau leaves equipment to filter thousands of liters (gallons) of water over weeks or even months. She needs to filter all that water to collect as many living cells as possible. Each teaspoon of water contains just a few thousand cells. That may be only a millionth as many cells as exist in every pinch of backyard soil.

Researchers have now identified many types of bacteria in underground water. Many of them stick to each other and to rocks in a slimy community called a biofilm. To study these microbes, scientists try to grow them in the lab. But so far, they have been successful with only about one out of every 100 bacterial species from down here.

Scientists also chemically identify the pattern of building blocks — known as sequences — that make up the bacteria’s genetic material. Those chemical sequences have let them identify most of the bacteria, based on their DNA and RNA. (DNA encodes the instructions for building a cell. RNA is a related messenger molecule. It’s needed to carry out those instructions.)

Lau isn’t just identifying the bacteria that live down here, though. She’s also trying to identify their diet. If scientists learn what these bacteria eat, they might be able to feed it to them in the lab, in what’s called a growth, or culture, medium. That would let researchers study these bacteria more closely, learn what makes them tick and see if they might be useful to us. But food is hard to come by deep underground. There is no sunlight and no plants. What’s more, the water that the bacteria live in contains very little oxygen.

At this depth, any microbes must get all of their energy — food — from the rocks and water around them. Reactions between rocks and water can produce different substances, including hydrogen, methane and sulfates. Scientists initially expected that these extremely deep-dwelling bacteria must feed mainly on these three materials.

To her surprise, Lau discovered, many don’t.

Indeed, fewer than half of the bacteria feed on them, she reports. This minority of bacteria produce other chemicals that the rest of the bacteria feed on. “That’s kind of new to us,” says Lau. “We expect to see more of this kind of cooperation, especially in these environments where it is difficult,” she says.

Knowing on what these bacteria dine might also inform the search for alien life. How? Scientists often look for the chemicals that living things feed on when they can’t find the living things themselves. From what they’ve learned about the new deep microbes, researchers know they might have to expand what kinds of menu items to scout for.

A whole lot of worms

Most of the first research on deep life focused on bacteria. But they’re far from the only species down here. Take nematodes.

These tiny worms usually live in the soil and feed on bacteria. When Gaetan Borgonie  heard there were bacteria deep underground, he wondered if there were also worms feeding on them. Borgonie is a zoologist at Extreme Life Isyensya in Gentbrugge, Belgium.

“After 20 years working on worms, you realize these animals are incredibly resistant,” he says. “I wondered if they could actually go very deep down.” To find out, he went looking for worms in the same gold mines Onstott studied. “It’s always an experience,” he says. Down in these mines, “I feel like an astronaut who walks on another planet.”

On Earth’s surface, nematodes are everywhere. “If I take an ordinary coffee cup and I go out and take a soil sample,” Borgonie says, “you will have hundreds of thousands of nematodes.” But deep underground, these worms are quite rare. Borgonie had to look through about 60 bathtubs worth of water to find a single worm. But he succeeded. And by doing so, he became the first to identify any kind of multicellular life deep beneath Earth’s surface. And once he spied nematodes, Borgonie started wondering what else might live at such depths.

So he sampled the underground water for two years. Along the way, “We found this whole zoo of animals,” he says, “much more than I anticipated.” These animals, though, were all too small to be seen with the naked eye. Many looked like little worms or caterpillars. Others were related to crabs and lobsters and resembled tiny shrimp. Some were in 12,000-year-old water from bore holes. Others lived in the stalactites hanging from the mine ceiling.

The worms and other creatures deep underground were mostly the same species found atop Earth’s surface, Borgonie showed. Almost all were feeding on the deep-living bacteria. Indeed, he now suspects, living so deep underground might actually be a good thing for these critters. Unlike at the surface, there are no predators down there to gobble them up. “For them, it’s like a summer camp,” quips Borgonie.

He never suspected he’d find such a wide variety of deep life. “This is actually very good news for people searching for life on Mars or [Jupiter’s Moon] Europa,” he says.  Conditions deep beneath the surface of those space worlds could be similar to those deep inside the Earth. Maybe we’ll find a similar microscopic zoo beneath these other worlds.

Looking for alien life

Science may not have to wait long to apply the lessons learned from these underground creatures. Over the next several years, space missions will be exploring the solar system searching for signs of life.

Other planets and moons have much harsher conditions on their surface than those on Earth. “This means that if we were to find life elsewhere in the solar system, it’s going to be below the surface,” says Tori Hoehler. He works at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Ames Research Center. As an atrobiologist there, he studies life on Earth and in space.

Life that would die on the surface of other planets or moons might be able to survive deep below. And reactions between underground rocks and water might provide the food needed to sustain them. Jupiter’s moon Europa or Saturn’s moon Enceladus may host rocks and water. But first scientists need a closer look. NASA will launch a mission to fly by Europa in the next five to 10 years. That could probe whether it might be able to support life.

Onstott also wonders if there might be creatures living deep below the Martian surface. Right now, it’s hard for life to survive on that planet’s surface. After all, it has almost no atmosphere. It’s also really cold and has no liquid water. But a long time ago, water may have flowed across the Martian landscape. And a thick atmosphere might have blanketed the planet. If there was Martian life on the surface then, maybe it trickled underground as critters have on Earth. “Down below they would have been nice and warm with plenty of water and plenty of energy,” says Onstott. That life could still be holed up there, captured in something like a time-capsule, waiting for us to dig it out.

Rovers have been exploring Mars for years. So far, none have ever done more than scrape the surface of the Red Planet. In 2018, though, the European Space Agency’s ExoMars Mission will get a deeper look. It won’t spy anywhere near as far below the surface as Lau and other scientists have searched back home. ExoMars plans to drill only about 2 meters (6.5 feet) down. That’s probably not deep enough to find life. But it might find signs that life once existed.

Onstott can’t wait. He imagines a time when humans might set up a base on Mars. Then we could drill deep below the surface, looking for water and life. Think about it, he says: “It would be an awesome undertaking.”

biofilm     A gooey community of different types of microbes that essentially glues itself to some solid surface. Living in a biofilm is one way microbes protect themselves from stressful agents (such as poisons) in their environment.

bore hole     A narrow hole drilled deeply into ice or the surface of the Earth, often to sample or extract natural gas, crude oil or other mineral resources.

cell     The smallest structural and functional unit of an organism. Typically too small to see with the naked eye, it consists of watery fluid surrounded by a membrane or wall. Animals are made of anywhere from thousands to trillions of cells, depending on their size. Some organisms, such as yeasts, molds, bacteria and some algae, are composed of only one cell.

chemical     A substance formed from two or more atoms that unite (become bonded together) in a fixed proportion and structure. For example, water is a chemical made of two hydrogen atoms bonded to one oxygen atom. Its chemical symbol is H₂O. Chemical can also be an adjective that describes properties of materials that are the result of various reactions between different compounds.

colleague     Someone who works with another; a co-worker or team member.

culture     (in biology) The community of cells or tissue that is intentionally grown outside the body (or the wilds) for research purposes, usually in a laboratory. (in social science) The sum total of typical behaviors and social practices of a related group of people (such as a tribe or nation). Their culture includes their beliefs, values, and the symbols that they accept and or use. It’s passed on from generation to generation through learning. Once thought to be exclusive to humans, scientists have recognized signs of culture in several other animal species, such as dolphins and primates.

dinosaur     A term that means terrible lizard. These ancient reptiles lived from about 250 million years ago to roughly 65 million years ago. All descended from egg-laying reptiles known as archosaurs. Their descendants eventually split into two lines. They are distinguished by their hips. The lizard-hipped line became saurichians, such as two-footed theropods like T. rex and the lumbering four-footed Apatosaurus (once known as brontosaurus). A second line of so-called bird-hipped, or ornithischian dinosaurs, led to a widely differing group of animals that included the stegosaurs and duckbilled dinosaurs.

DNA     (short for deoxyribonucleic acid) A long, double-stranded and spiral-shaped molecule inside most living cells that carries genetic instructions. It is built on a backbone of phosphorus, oxygen, and carbon atoms. In all living things, from plants and animals to microbes, these instructions tell cells which molecules to make.

Enceladus     The sixth largest of Saturn’s more than 50 moons. Enceladus is bright white and covered with a thick shell of ice. Deep beneath that ice sits what appears to be a global ocean of salty liquid water. Enceladus is a round sphere, 500 kilometers (310 miles) across. It is a little less than one-third the width of Earth's moon.

environment     The sum of all of the things that exist around some organism or the process and the condition those things create for that organism or process. Environment may refer to the weather and ecosystem in which some animal lives, or, perhaps, the temperature, humidity and placement of components in some electronics system or product.

Europa     One of the moons of Jupiter and the sixth-closest satellite to the planet. Europa, 1,951 miles across, has a network of dark lines on a bright, icy surface.

extraterrestrial     Anything of or from regions beyond Earth.

filter     (in chemistry and environmental science) A device which allows some materials to pass through but not others, based on their size or some other feature. (in physics) A screen, plate or layer of a substance that absorbs light or other radiation or selectively prevents the transmission of some of its components.

genetic     Having to do with chromosomes, DNA and the genes contained within DNA. The field of science dealing with these biological instructions is known as genetics. People who work in this field are geneticists.

germ     Any one-celled microorganism, such as a bacterium, fungal species or virus particle. Some germs cause disease. Others can promote the health of higher-order organisms, including birds and mammals. The health effects of most germs, however, remain unknown.

graduate student     Someone working toward an advanced degree by taking classes and performing research. This work is done after the student has already graduated from college (usually with a four-year degree).

hydrogen     The lightest element in the universe. As a gas, it is colorless, odorless and highly flammable. It’s an integral part of many fuels, fats and chemicals that make up living tissues.

Jupiter     (in astronomy) The solar system’s largest planet, it has the shortest day length (10 hours). A gas giant, its low density indicates that this planet is composed of light elements, such as hydrogen and helium. This planet also releases more heat than it receives from the sun as gravity compresses its mass (and slowly shrinks the planet).

liquid     A material that flows freely but keeps a constant volume, like water or oil.

Mars     The fourth planet from the sun, just one planet out from Earth. Like Earth, it has seasons and moisture. But its diameter is only about half as big as Earth’s.

methane     A hydrocarbon with the chemical formula CH₄ (meaning there are four hydrogen atoms bound to one carbon atom). It’s a natural constituent of what’s known as natural gas. It’s also emitted by decomposing plant material in wetlands and is belched out by cows and other ruminant livestock. From a climate perspective, methane is 20 times more potent than carbon dioxide is in trapping heat in Earth’s atmosphere, making it a very important greenhouse gas.

microbe     Short for microorganism. A living thing that is too small to see with the unaided eye, including bacteria, some fungi and many other organisms such as amoebas. Most consist of a single cell.

microscopic     An adjective for things too small to be seen by the unaided eye. It takes a microscope to view such tiny objects, such as bacteria or other one-celled organisms.

mineral     The crystal-forming substances, such as quartz, apatite, or various carbonates, that make up rock. Most rocks contain several different minerals mish-mashed together. A mineral usually is solid and stable at room temperatures and has a specific formula, or recipe (with atoms occurring in certain proportions) and a specific crystalline structure (meaning that its atoms are organized in certain regular three-dimensional patterns). (in physiology) The same chemicals that are needed by the body to make and feed tissues to maintain health.

moon     The natural satellite of any planet.

multicellular     Having or consisting of many cells. This includes all animals and plants, and many types of fungus.

NASA     Short for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Created in 1958, this U.S. agency has become a leader in space research and in stimulating public interest in space exploration. It was through NASA that the United States sent people into orbit and ultimately to the moon. It has also sent research craft to study planets and other celestial objects in our solar system.

natural gas     A mix of gases that developed underground over millions of years (often in association with crude oil). Most natural gas starts out as 50 to 90 percent methane, along with small amounts of heavier hydrocarbons, such as propane and butane.

nematode     A type of roundworm, usually found in soil, that can also live within other creatures as a parasite. It is very small, with no eyes, ears or nose.

organism     Any living thing, from elephants and plants to bacteria and other types of single-celled life.

oxygen     A gas that makes up about 21 percent of the atmosphere. All animals and many microorganisms need oxygen to fuel their metabolism.

planet     A celestial object that orbits a star, is big enough for gravity to have squashed it into a roundish ball and it must have cleared other objects out of the way in its orbital neighborhood. To accomplish the third feat, it must be big enough to pull neighboring objects into the planet itself or to sling-shot them around the planet and off into outer space. Astronomers of the International Astronomical Union (IAU) created this three-part scientific definition of a planet in August 2006 to determine Pluto’s status. Based on that definition, IAU ruled that Pluto did not qualify. The solar system now includes eight planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

predator     (adjective: predatory) A creature that preys on other animals for most or all of its food.

RNA     A molecule that helps “read” the genetic information contained in DNA. A cell’s molecular machinery reads DNA to create RNA, and then reads RNA to create proteins.

Saturn     The sixth planet out from the sun in our solar system. One of the four gas giants, this planet takes 10.7 hours to rotate (completing a day) and 29 Earth years to complete one orbit of the sun. It has at least 53 known moons and 9 more candidates awaiting confirmation. But what most distinguishes this planet is the broad and flat plane of seven rings that orbit it.

sequencing     Technologies that determine the order of nucleotides or letters in a DNA molecule that spell out an organism’s traits.

solar system     The eight major planets and their moons in orbit around the sun, together with smaller bodies in the form of dwarf planets, asteroids, meteoroids and comets.

solid     Firm and stable in shape; not liquid or gaseous.

species     A group of similar organisms capable of producing offspring that can survive and reproduce.

sulfate     A family of chemical compounds that are related to sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄). Sulfates occur naturally in drinking water.

toxic     Poisonous or able to harm or kill cells, tissues or whole organisms. The measure of risk posed by such a poison is its toxicity.

uranium     The heaviest naturally occurring element known. It’s called element 92, which refers to the number of protons in its nucleus. Uranium atoms are radioactive, which means they decay into different atomic nuclei.

waste     Any materials that are left over from biological or other systems that have no value, so they can be disposed of as trash or recycled for some new use.

That final look he gives, wasn’t only a dramatic pause; his mind seized up about one thing, you possibly can see it in his eyes.. even his face looked like it instantly lost all expression, almost like he was somewhere else and not speaking in front of millions of people live on TV. 

Perhaps one of his final regrets was never getting round to disclosing the TRUTH about the ET’s and why they are visiting planet earth.  Obama has hinted and joked about UFO’s and Aliens far more than any other president has ever done before!

They say that in space, no one can hear you scream – but that may not be the case if you’re having sex in a tiny space capsule, right next to other astronauts.

But if we want to get to Mars, we have to get serious – and work out how to bonk where no man has come before.

Sex in space is something that hasn’t actually been studied much – although there have been a fair few zero-gravity pornos filmed on planes doing parabolic flights.

Kris Lehnhardt of The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences says, ‘This is something that we, frankly, have never studied dramatically, because it’s not been relevant to date.

‘But if we want to become a spacefaring species and we want to live in space permanently, this is a crucial issue that we have to address that just has not been fully studied yet.

A new film opens with artist David Huggins saying, simply, ‘When I was 17 I lost my virginity to a female extraterrestrial.’

It’s a bold claim, explored in a new film ‘Love and Saucers’ – where Huggins shows off his often sexually explicit paintings inspired by a life of unbridled sex with a being from another world.

Huggins is married, by the way.

Huggins claims that sex with Crescent was initially painful – but then they became lovers, and he fathered an alien child with ‘her’.One is simply titled, ‘Virginity lost’ – and many feature explicit scenes with Crescent, who resembles Gene Simmons from Kiss, but with breasts.

David Huggins says he has fathered several half-human, half-alien children – and has shown off a painting with alien women holding up weird hybrid babies he claims are his.

Huggins  has chronicled his often X-rated alien experiences as part of an exhibition of paintings, which depict no-holds-barred alien-on-human sex with merciless realism.

Huggins claims he was first abducted by aliens aged eight, but that his relationship with the sultry alien took off later.

Huggins claims he also met little hairy aliens, grey aliens and insectoid aliens, who he did not have sex with.

Nigel Watson, author of ‘The Haynes UFO Investigations Manual’ says, ‘David’s experiences are very detailed, and his works of art show they have had a powerful influence on him throughout his life. Yet, he is not the only one to claim such experiences, which haunt people from childhood onwards. In his book Communion, Whitley Strieber famously described being abducted by aliens who inserted a 1ft (0.3m)-long anal probe inside him. It seemed to be a living entity, so when it was taken out he was surprised to see it was a mechanical device.’

LIFE ON MARS? NASA FINDS EVIDENCE RED PLANET COULD HAVE BEEN TEEMING WITH ALIENS

NASA has found some of the best evidence yet that Mars probably once had habitable conditions like Earth that could have supported alien life.

Mars may have once been as habitable as Earth, says new NASA data.

The space rover is a 4WD droid exploring the planet remotely and taking samples of the surface for any sign of alien life.

The rover examined a mudstone outcrop area called “Pahrump Hills” on lower Mount Sharp, in 2014 and 2015.

In a paper published recently in Earth and Planetary Science Letters, scientists in the Astromaterials Research and Exploration Science (ARES) Division at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston report on the first four samples collected from the lower layers of Mount Sharp.

Elizabeth Rampe, the first author of the study and a NASA exploration mission scientist at Johnson, said: “We went to Gale Crater to investigate these lower layers of Mount Sharp that have these minerals that precipitated from water and suggest different environments.

“These layers were deposited about 3.5 billion years ago, coinciding with a time on Earth when life was beginning to take hold.

“We think early Mars may have been similar to early Earth, and so these environments might have been habitable.”

Curiosity landed near Mount Sharp in Gale Crater in August 2012 and reached the base of the mountain in 2014.

Layers of rocks at the base of Mount Sharp accumulated as sediment within ancient lakes around 3.5 billion years ago.

Orbital infrared spectroscopy had shown that the mountain’s lowermost layers have variations in minerals that suggest changes in the area have occurred.

The minerals found in the four samples drilled near the base of Mount Sharp suggest several different environments were present in ancient Gale Crater.

There is evidence for waters with different pH and variably oxidising conditions. The minerals also show that there were multiple source regions for the rocks in “Pahrump Hills” and “Marias Pass”.

The paper primarily reports on three samples from the Pahrump Hills region. This is an outcrop at the base of Mount Sharp that contains sedimentary rocks scientists believe formed in the presence of water.

A NASA spokesman said: “Studying such rock layers can yield information about Mars’ past habitability, and determining minerals found in the layers of sedimentary rock yields much data about the environment in which they formed. “Data collected at Mount Sharp with the Chemistry and Mineralogy (CheMin) instrument on Curiosity showed a wide diversity of minerals.”

We went to Gale Crater to investigate these lower layers of Mount Sharp that have these minerals that precipitated from water and suggest different environments.

At the base are minerals from a primitive magma source; they are rich in iron and magnesium, similar to basalts in Hawaii.

Moving higher in the section, scientists saw more silica-rich minerals.

In the “Telegraph Peak” sample, scientists found minerals similar to quartz. In the “Buckskin” sample, scientists found tridymite.

Tridymite is found on Earth, for example, in rocks that formed from partial melting of Earth’s crust or in the continental crust – a strange finding because Mars never had plate tectonics.

In the “Confidence Hills” and “Mojave 2” samples, scientists found clay minerals, which generally form in the presence of liquid water with a near-neutral pH, and therefore could be good indicators of past environments that were conducive to life.

The other mineral discovered here was jarosite, a salt that forms in acidic solutions.

There are different iron-oxide minerals in the samples as well.

Hematite was found near the base; only magnetite was found at the top. Hematite contains oxidised iron, whereas magnetite contains both oxidised and reduced forms of iron.

The type of iron-oxide mineral present may tell scientists about the oxidation potential of the ancient waters.

The authors discuss two hypotheses to explain this mineralogical diversity. The lake waters themselves at the base were oxidising, so either there was more oxygen in the atmosphere or other factors encouraged oxidation.

After the rock sediments were deposited, some acidic, oxidising groundwater moved into the area, leading to precipitation of the jarosite and hematite.

The spokesman added: “In this scenario, the environmental conditions present in the lake and in later groundwater were quite different, but both offered liquid water and a chemical diversity that could have been exploited by microbial life.”

Ms Rampe said: “We have all this evidence that Mars was once really wet but now is dry and cold.

“Today, much of the water is locked up in the poles and in the ground at high latitudes as ice.

“We think that the rocks Curiosity has studied reveal ancient environmental changes that occurred as Mars started to lose its atmosphere and water was lost to space.”

An Ill-Fated Hunt for UFOs in a Massive Park Outside Boston

They got lost, but say they found what they were looking for.

LAST WEEK, IN THE BLUE Hills Reservation outside Boston, two teens and a 21-year-old set out to look for unidentified flying objects and got hopelessly lost.

They were, it’s safe to say, rather unprepared. One wore slippers—not the right footwear for the rocks and branches and undergrowth of the woods. Their phones weren’t fully charged. And they had no flashlights. After reaching the top of a hill and realizing they did not know where they were, and were surrounded by darkness, they decided to call for help.

The Boston Globe identified the trio as Ramona DiFrancesco, 18; Travis Stoecklin, 21; and Savannah Winship-Cody, 17. Each was led out of the forest last Thursday night, unharmed, after being located by a police helicopter.

Despite the problems they encountered, DiFrancesco told the Globe that the hike was worth it. Not only was it “beautiful,” the three did, in fact, see some UFOs, including “three bright lights in the formation of a triangle” and some kind of circular thing that was “bigger than the moon,” DiFrancesco said.

Mysterious flashes in the night sky perplex locals, but the lights may continue over the next few days

MYSTERIOUS lights crossing the night sky over Camden and Campbelltown this week could be flashes from iridium flares — and they will be visible to anyone in the right place at the right time.

Sightings of flashing lights, some with a greenish tinge, over the weekend have been reported from across the region with some residents speculating they were shooting stars or UFOs.

Camden resident Jason Mack spotted the lights over Ingleburn while driving on the Hume Highway and posted his sighting to a community noticeboard on Facebook.

“It was a strange flash like a meteorite, the kind you’d see in a movie,” he said.

“It was pretty much over in two seconds but it looked like it was falling to earth, it would’ve landed out of my sight line.”

Macarthur Astronomical Society president Tony Law said the lights could be explained by a range of phenomenon including falling space junk, meteors or flashes from iridium flares (a flash of light from the solar panels of iridium satellites in orbit around the Earth).

International website Heaven’s Above, which tracks iridium flares, reports there will be a series of visible flashes over Camden in the coming days.

“There’s so much space junk up there now that it could be anything,” Mr Law said.

“We haven’t had any meteor showers we’ve been keeping an eye on recently but there were some a few weeks ago, we only really look out for the larger ones.

“NASA keeps track of all the space junk out there which is human-made material falling to the Earth, if you look at a map it’s like it covers the earth.

“There’s something falling to Earth all of the time.”

A series of iridium flares (listed above) that will be visible in Camden over the coming days.

Mr Law said iridium flares were commonly seen in the night sky.

“They are very common and happen all the time but you’ve got to be in the right place to see them,” he said

“You can very visibly see the tail of the satellite in the 30-second shot,” he said.

Central Coast UFO group feels ‘let down’ over federal funding review

A CENTRAL Coast UFO group has had a close encounter of the confronting current-affairs TV kind when its meeting was gatecrashed earlier this month.

The Express Advocate revealed last month that taxpayers had forked out thousands of dollars for the Tuggerah Lakes UFO group to do its “important”, out-of-this-world work.

Tracking down the group at Wyong RSL Club, A Current Affair reporter Steve Marshall walked into the “open” meeting where a handful of members were in attendance.

The Channel 9 reporter asked whether he could sit in the meeting, but the group’s head honcho Joann Kanda replied: “It’s a bit imposing, I didn’t give permission.”

But in true ACA style, he stayed on and grilled Ms Kanda about whether it was appropriate for taxpayers to be funding the group’s activities­.

“I understand the public’s perception. It’s just that our equipment that we bought with the original funding, it needs repairs,” Ms Kanda said.

“The laptop had extra memory so you could take the photographs (of UFOs) and analyse them. We bought an amplifier, which is acting up a bit.”

Federal Minister for Social Services Christian Porter has called for an urgent review into his department’s decision to approve a grant of $2645 for the UFO group — which has more than 800 Facebook members — after it had received $2994 in 2013.

Federal Social Services Minister Christian Porter has put the temporary stops on funding for a UFO group on the Central Coast.

Asked for her response to the minister’s freeze, Ms Kanda said: “I would have a subjective view on that, wouldn’t I?

“I felt a bit let down. I could have called (the group) something else … you know, basket weaving and no one would have blinked an eye.”

Another member said of the funding: “We only get a small proportion … hardly worth worrying about, really­.”

A couple of the group’s members spoke about their “experiences” with UFOs.

Members of a UFO group on the Central Coast believe we are not alone in the universe.

One member said: “What’s there not to believe in … I’ve seen some sort of triangular thing in the sky.”

Another said: “We suddenly saw this white, fuzzy shape.”

Mr Porter questioned whether funding for the group passed the “common sense test”.

Witness recalls attempting communication with UFO

A Missouri witness at Mexico recalled a UFO incident from 1977 when she and her then 10-year-old son encountered an object following them along a rural roadway, according to testimony in Case 83874 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The incident occurred during the summer of 1977 – approximately June 17.

“I was returning home after driving to a nearby town 30 miles away to see the movie, “Chariots of the Gods.” It was approximately between 9-10p.m. CST. I was driving on a blacktop road rather than the highway since it was a shorter way to get home. As I was driving north, I noticed ahead of me, and to the left of the road,a fiery image about treetop level and I mentioned to my son that it must be a barn on fire.”

About two minutes later, the witness reached a curve in the road.

“The fiery image moved from its location left of the road and instantly appeared on the right side of the road. I knew then it was a UFO due to how quickly it maneuvered direction. I was then driving east with the UFO following me to my right – about 100 feet higher than my van – and it stayed maybe two car lengths ahead of me. The UFO seemed to be traveling the same speed as I was, which by then I had probably slowed to about 40 mph.”

“After about 30-45 seconds of following us, it instantaneously appeared about one-quarter mile ahead and to the left side of the road. It was stopped and hovered above a grove of trees.”

Since the object had stopped, the witness did not want to keep driving.

“There was a house there, so I pulled into someone’s driveway and thought about going up to their door to let them know of the UFO so people wouldn’t think I was just making it all up. But figured, as sure as I did, it would disappear. My son thought I should keep driving, but I told him I didn’t want to be abducted or have my car engine fail.”

As the object hovered, the witness was able tomake out the shape and a few features.

“It was disc-shaped with a seemingly darker band around the center of it and a lot of fire from the underneath. Either the flames below were so bright that they illuminated the craft or the moonlight was such that I couldn’t get a good view of it (or both).”

After about four to five minutes of wondering what to do, the witness decided to attempt to communicate with the object.

‘I said, ‘I know that you can hear me because you all are a lot more intelligent and advanced than we are, so please just go on and leave us alone.’”

After about 10 seconds, the UFO moved away at “lightning speed in an upward and south-easterly direction” anddisappeared from view.

“The entire time of the sighting, I encountered no traffic in either direction. However, as soon as it disappeared, there was traffic again. The image of the UFO actually looked a lot like the spaceship image on the album cover of the band “Boston’s” first album in 1976. I have since regretted that I didn’t try to make better communication because I would like to communicate with them. Evidently, they were seeking me out, but I just had no idea of their intent.”

Lost UFO Hunters Spot Strange Orb Near Boston

Three UFO hunters got lost in the Blue Hills near Boston last week, but it appeared they also got what they wanted.

State police had to rescue Ramona DiFrancesco and her friends when they were lost for several hours on Thursday night.

DiFrancesco, 18, of Plymouth claimed that she and friends saw UFOs they had never encountered before on that night.

She said that they spotted two ships with bright spotlights and then a mysterious orb that looked like a spotlight appeared.

They caught the mysterious object in a photo that had been taken with a Nikon camera.

The Boston Globe reported that the group of UFO hunters got lost on Buck Hill.

DiFrancesco revealed that their phones were dying and did not have any flashlights. She admitted that they were quite unprepared.

Fortunately, a state police helicopter spotted them, and officers guide them down a trail on foot. All of the UFO hunters were in good condition, and no one was hurt.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A “UFO” IS TRACKED ON MILITARY RADAR

Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) are grabbing the attention of more people everyday, and for good reason. Obviously, if there are unknown objects in the sky, military/defence organizations will see them on radar, along with other organizations that monitor air traffic, like the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This happens on a regular basis, objects of unknown origin are constantly tracked on radar, along with visual confirmation by pilots, performing maneuvers that defy our understanding of physics as well as traveling at unattainable speeds.

When the FAA tracks them on radar, a protocol is followed. When a UFO is sighted and tracked on radar, they report it to data collection centers, one of them being the Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies. (1) But evidence suggests that it’s not so simple as just following protocol. Retired FAA Senior Division Chief, John Callahan, shared his experience with regards to a specific UFO incident, you can read more about that here. Representatives from the FBI and CIA showed up to find out more about the incident, and to obtain all documentation and video footage. Bigelow Aerospace Director, Mike Gold, recently expressed that he is glad somebody is taking the reports, because it is a “serious issue,” but he also said that he could not comment on what they do with them.

So, what happens when UFOs are tracked on military/defence agency radar? Well, the first thing that happens is that it is recorded and documented. Documents regarding UFOs and the tracking of them on radar have been declassified within the past few years, there are countless examples from multiple agencies, like the NSA. (2)

If something is violating your airspace, and performing maneuvers that defy our understanding of physics, maneuvers that no known  aircraft can perform, you’re going to want to take a closer look. As former UK Ministry of Defence personnel Nick Pope puts it, “UFOs present a number of defence, national security and air safety issues.”

In the case of UFOs, military jets are scrambled to intercept the objects, and what happens after that might shock you. Again, I’d like to mention that these encounters have constantly occurred throughout history, they are well documented.

One case in particular I’d like to start out with is the incident over Tehran, Iran. This incident occurred on the night of September 18th, 1976. A four page U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency and NSA report describes the encounter in detail. (3)(4) Furthermore, both of the pilots involved discussed the event years later.(0)

What happened on this night is an example of what has happened multiple times with regards to military encounters with UFOs. Residents of the city noticed a big bright object in the sky. The airport traffic controller also noticed, “it was an intensely bright object that was not supposed to be there.”(0)The Iranian Air Force was contacted (at the time they were a close ally of the United States, under the rule of the Shah), and they dispatched two F-4 fighter jets to check out the object. The United States took this encounter very seriously, a report of what happened was sent to multiple national security officials AND U.S. President Gerald R. Ford, CIA Director George Bush, and National Security Adviser Henry Kissinger, among others.(0)  (3)(4)

Both of the F-4 interceptor pilots reported seeing the object visually, it was also tracked on their airborne radar. Both planes experienced critical instrumentation and electronics go offline at a distance of twenty-five miles from the object. Here is an excerpt from the report:

“As the F-4 approached a range of 25 nautical miles it lost all instrumentation and communications. When the F-4 turned away from the object and apparently was no longer a threat to it, the aircraft regained all instrumentation and communications. Another brightly lighted object came out of the original object. The second object headed straight toward the F4. ”   (3)(4) (0)

The report also described how a smaller object detached from the bigger object, turned inside the arc of the F-4 itself, and then regained the original object. This incident lasted for several hours. I decided to use this example because it has a number of declassified supporting national security documents, which goes to show how serious this event was taken.

“The nations of the world are currently working together in the investigation of the UFO phenomenon. There is an international exchange of data. Maybe when this group of nations acquires more precise and definite information, it will be possible to release the news to the world” – General Carlos Castro Cavero, Spanish Air Force General (0)

Another significant event occurred over NATO’s Aviano Air Base in Italy, on July 1, 1977. During this event, several U.S. Air Force personnel saw a UFO hovering outside of the base perimeter. While the object was there, the facility lost electrical power.(5)

“Governments believe that if they told the truth, which is that there are objects in our atmosphere, which are technically miles in advance of anything that we can deploy, we have no means of stopping them from coming here, and that we have no defense against them should they be hostile, that I believe is the governments fear if it did disclose those facts. I however, do not believe people would panic. There is a serious possibility that we are being visited and have been visited for many years by other civilizations. Who they are, where they are from and what they want should be the subject of rigorous scientific investigation and not the subject of ‘rubbishing by tabloid newspapers.” – Lord Admiral Hill Norton, Former Chief of Defence Staff (UK), 5 Star Admiral of the Royal Navy, and Chairman of the NATO Military Committee.(source)

From November 9th through December 18th in 1978, several major UFO events occurred over the oilfields of Kuwait. They also appeared to disrupt major electrical equipment in this case. This event received major attention from the Kuwaiti government, as well as the U.S. government and Embassy.(6)(0)

According to Richard Dolan, one of the world’s leading UFO researchers, perhaps the most dramatic of all were two encounters that year on December 16th by the Chilean Air Force:

“Two pilots on a training mission, each flying an F5 fighter aircraft, tracked the object on their airborne radar. It gave a return equal to ten or more aircraft carriers-except this object was in the air, not floating on the water. Each pilot assumed his radar equipment was faulty, until he learned that the other pilot was also getting the same return. Not only this, but ground radar from a nearby airport also picked up the object and confirmed its huge size. The pilots also saw the object with their own eyes. One pilot later said that at a distance of twenty miles, it looked “like a plantain banana swathed in smoke.” The pilots were frightened, having no missiles or weapons. As they approached the massive object, which had been motionless all this while, it took off at an unimaginable speed. All at once, it vanished from the three radar screens.”(7)(0)

The very next morning the Chilean Air Force scrambled some F5 fighter jets to intercept another very large UFO. The pilots described this one as very bright, and very large. The Chilean Air Force has officially acknowledged these events, but could not explain what had occurred. (7)(0)

On May 19, 1986, there was a large portion of Brazilian airspace that was constantly occupied by UFOs. The Brazilian air-force constantly scrambled their jets to get a closer look at what they were picking up on radar. Here is a quote from the Brazilian Minister of Aeronautics, Brigadier General Otavio Moreira Lima:

“At least 20 objects were detected by Brazilian radars. They saturated the radars and interrupted traffic in the area. Each time that radar detected unidentified objects, fighters took off for intercept. Radar detects only solid metallic bodies and heavy (mass) clouds. There were no clouds nor conventional aircraft in the region. The sky was clear. Radar doesn’t have optical illusions. We can only give technical explanations and we don’t have them. It would be very difficult for us to talk about the hypothesis of an electronic war. It’s very remote and it’s not the case here in Brazil. It’s fantastic. The signals on the radar were quite clear.” (8)(0)

I’d also like to point out that UFOs have been seen and coincide with the deactivation of nuclear missiles and nuclear missile facilities all over the world. This has been well documented, and you can read more about that here.

The list goes on and on, UFOs tracked on radar and military jets scrambled to check them out is nothing new. I hope I’ve given you a good amount of info to further your research if interested. Dozens and dozens of governments have recently released their UFO files, admitting to the phenomenon being real. You can access the United Kingdom’s latest batch that was released in June 2013 here.

Commercial airline pilots also constantly report UFOs. There have been many cases, the most recent I am aware of was an A320 Airbus Captain who reported a near miss with a UFO over Heathrow Airport. 

From all of these encounters one thing is evidently clear, even when incidents’ occur in other countries, the United States is highly interested. This gives more validity to UFO researcher Timothy Goods’ belief, that the United States Air Force Space Command (USAFSC) is in charge.

According to U.S. defense records, an interesting sighting of a UFO was reported by the Ghana Air Force on July 27, 1987. It was a large, silent object which the pilot described as two or three times large than a Boeing 747. He said that the “object dropped altitude, then gained altitude, then was replaced by small bluish lights arranged in a circular formation.” (9)(0)

It’s hard to do justice to the topic of UFOs tracked on radar, and military jets scrambled to intercept them when there are what seems to be hundreds upon hundreds of documented cases. What is very intriguing is the level of interest these events garnish by military and intelligence agencies worldwide. There are thousands upon thousands of documents that prove this, some of which I have put links to in the article. Since there are so many, this is a great little video to demonstrate a tidbit of documentation that’s been released into the public domain.

ROSWELL: 15 PIECES OF EVIDENCE THE GOVERNMENT IS HIDING ALIENS

It’s been almost 70 years since the infamous Roswell incident. The moment the public started to become clued in to the idea that extraterrestrial being were visiting our planet, or possibly that alien teenagers were joyriding in New Mexico.

This was also the first time really that the people of the world started to sit up and suspect that their government was not being entirely honest with them about alien life. Before Roswell, people were happy just thinking that aliens were the subject of science fiction. Since that night, when a rancher found what he described to the authorities as “one of them flying saucers”, Roswell has been permanently linked to the subject of UFOs and cover-ups, creating a cottage industry that has pulled in tourists and created an awful TV show.

Proving these incidents has been somewhat problematic. If you’re looking for videos of dancing aliens or a discarded extraterrestrial learner’s permit, you’re not going to find it out there. In fact, every piece of physical evidence surrounding Roswell has been proven as fakery – like the infamous autopsy video from 1995, or the recent photos of an alien being that turned out to be an Aztec mummy. Chances are, any evidence of that nature is locked firmly away in a vault along with the Arc of the Covenant, and what little remains of Indiana Jones’ dignity.

The evidence we do have is largely eyewitness accounts, anonymous deathbed confessions, and government documentation. They’re not quite the smoking gun, but they might just lead us down the path to finding one.

Preferably before the aliens enslave us all.

15.GEOLOGICAL EVIDENCE OF THE ROSWELL CRASH

If we’re to assume that an extraterrestrial vessel crashed somewhere in New Mexico in 1947 – and no-one is for a moment suggesting the aliens were drunk – then you would expect their to be some kind of impact evidence. While debris can be collected and hidden, and beings locked in aircraft hangers, geological evidence is more challenging to cover up.

In 2011, Frank Kimbler – a science teacher at the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, decided he wanted to find this physical evidence. He took satellite images of the alleged crash site, enhanced the infra red, and actually discovered an area that seemed to correlate with what witnesses in 1947 described. The disturbed area was about ¾ of a mile long, and a few hundred feet wide – which kind of rules out the shenanigans of drunken farmers.

So while there were no photos of giant-headed beings staring up at Kemmler, this is some pretty interesting evidence pointing toward a large impact with the surface of the earth.

14.METALLIC DEBRIS

Spurred on by his, frankly, unexpected satellite evidence, our friend Frank Kimbler of previous entry-fame decided that he needed to get some boots on the ground. Boots and a metal detector. Yes, taking an approach that somehow always seems to make people look like crazy obsessives, he took to the site with a whirring, beeping device.

Of course, Kimbler was hardly the first person to dig around the area, but he found that previous archaeologists had been sifting through the dirt with screens that had holes large enough for very tiny pieces of evidence to pass through. Amateurs.

A few inches beneath the surface, in an anthill – because ants are notorious hoarders of UFO debris – Kimbler struck gold. Well, some kind of metal. The first pieces were buttons from 1940s-era military fatigues – proving that the military had at least been present in the area. He also found some slivers of a mysterious metal. Which leads us to…

13.MATERIALS NOT OF THIS EARTH

Usually, when someone finds little foil-like slivers of metal, they don’t pick them up and keep them for later examination, cradling them lovingly like Gollum in Lord of the Rings. There’s no evidence that Kimbler was acting in this fashion, of course…but it’s fun to think about.

A surface examination by the completely unbiased-sounding Roswell International UFO Museum and Research Center found that the metal was composed of aluminium, manganese, silicon and copper alloy. While not unheard of, this mix is not usually found in foil form.

So, Kimbler hauled the evidence around various labs, hoping for an isotopic analysis that would confirm whether the origin of the evidence was terrestrial. Thing is, some scientists wouldn’t touch it with a 1000 ft barge pole, not wanting to be associated with the Roswell incident. However, when he did find a lab that would take on the work (funded by the UFO Museum…just saying), the results were interesting.

Unless the lab made a mistake, the isotopic ratios of the magnesium suggested the material wasn’t consistent with being from this planet.

12.MILITARY WITNESSES

It’s admittedly a bit of a leap to find some buttons and claim that they’re evidence of the military being present at the site of a UFO crash. Maury Povich found our DNA evidence inside a baby’s genes, but that doesn’t mean we were necessarily present for the conception.

However, in 2016 an unidentified (always slightly suspicious) soldier came forward and claimed that he and up to 500 other military personnel witnessed UFOs in the New Mexico desert in 1971.

Stationed at Fort Bliss in Texas at the time, the soldier and his unit were ostensibly sent on maneuvers to an area west of Roswell. While there, the soldiers witnessed a double UFO incident in the sky above them, stopping abruptly and making erratic movements for 5 hours.

Is Roswell like a tourist spot for extraterrestrial visitors too? Or maybe they’re still looking for some bits of metal they left behind.

11.TESTIMONY OF HIGH RANKING MILITARY STAFF

We’re not suggesting for a moment that you can’t trust the eyewitness account of an anonymous soldier, or that their anonymity makes it difficult to even ascertain they were even a soldier. We wouldn’t dare. But when there’s a named source, and that source is of significant rank, well you tend to sit up straight and pay attention – mostly because they shouted in your face ordering you to do so.

Brigadier General Thomas DuBose revealed that he was present when the Roswell wreckage was brought into the office of General Roger Ramey at Carswell Air Force Base. While the official military statement was that the debris was from a fallen weather balloon, DuBose maintained that there was some form of cover up, and that the debris – which he handled personally – was from no normal weather balloon.

This doesn’t mean it was aliens. But it’s aliens.

10.CIA FILES

What’s pretty frustrating for anyone attempting to look into evidence that the government are hiding anally-fixated extraterrestrial being, is the fact that people in the know are pretty reticent to reveal anything that could conceivably…you know…get them assassinated (more on that in a bit).

Chase Brandon, a 35 year veteran of the CIA made a confession that is tantalizingly close to some useful information, and yet frustratingly, he won’t say any more.

In 2012, Brandon said that he saw files on the Roswell incident when he walked into the Historical Intelligence Collection at the CIA headquarters in Virginia.

Opening up a box labelled “Roswell”, Brandon said he rummaged around and saw evidence in the form of written material and photographs that made him realize the crash was real.

He said, “It was not a damn weather balloon…it was a craft that clearly did not come from this planet, it crashed and I don’t doubt for a second that the use of the words ‘remains’ and ‘cadavers’ was exactly what people were talking about.”

Brandon refuses to say any more on the subject because he’s being mindful of “the hat I wear as a former CIA operative”.

9.JFK PROBABLY KNEW ABOUT THE ALIENS

Again, we’re into the slightly murky realm of eyewitness testimony from anonymous military sources. Which has all the credibility of a monkey in a lab coat claiming to be a heart surgeon. Still, it’s worth considering.

In a recent documentary, “Undisclosed”, a man purported by the film makers to be John F Kennedy’s former pilot revealed that the president had significant awareness of the US government’s contact with extraterrestrials.

During a conversation with the president, the pilot claims JFK told him, “you’re right, young man. There is considerable knowledge as far as the being of UFOs and the ET phenomenon that we are aware of today.”

Which, while it reads as though JFK might have been drunk at the time, lends some credence to the rumors that the president was assassinated because he was about to make revelations about aliens to the world. Sort of. Maybe.

8. NASA UFO FEED WAS CUT

In today’s super-connected world, we have become used to seeing things happen, at the moment they happen. When some starlet has a nip-slip on the red carpet, you better believe several hundred thousand people witnessed it, and there’s no point denying it happened.

Well, it seems NASA had something of a nip-slip of its own in 2016.

NASA has been kind enough to provide us with live feeds outside the International Space Station constantly since 2014. On that fateful day, audiences were watching the beauty of the earth from space, when an object appeared to slowly descend toward earth…and then the footage cut out.

When questioned about it, NASA claimed the blackout occurred at random, and advised that they’d never witnessed a UFO in the popular sense.

While there are all kinds of plausible explanations for the object, the timing of the feed cut out was kinda…convenient.

7.THE SHIRLEY’S BAY STATION

Obviously, it’s not just the US government that are covering up their evidence of alien existence. That’s a given. But we would never have expected the Canadians to be involved in a conspiracy! What the hell, Canada? You’re supposed to be the nice one!

Project Magnet was set up in Shirley’s Bay, Ottawa, with the explicit intention of attracting UFOs, because the Canadian Department of Transport thought UFOs might hold the key to clean transportation.

Sounds like a great idea, right?

However, as soon as the station detected it’s first suspicious event, all records were deemed classified by the Canadian government, and the project was abruptly shut down by officials. However, according to the lead scientist at the base, Wilbert Smith, the incident involved readings that were way off the charts of any normal aircraft, but when the research team ran outside to see what was causing the readings, they were unable to view it due to fog.

6.A NASA ASTRONAUT SPOKE OUT

If there’s one person on Earth that you’re likely to accept the testimony of about life on other planets, it’s probably gonna be a guy that’s actually been into space.

Edgar Mitchell, along with being a former space jockey of the highest order, is one of the faces that keeps cropping up when trying to uncover evidence of UFOs.

In a 2008 radio interview, Mitchell revealed that the government had been covering up UFOs for the last 50 years, but that NASA wasn’t involved. Though he declined to give names, he said that he knew several high ranking military and intelligence officials who had personal experience of the cover up. He also said that he spoke to an official at the Pentagon, who confirmed that the instigators of this more than half-century block on information were investigators of the Roswell incident.

Sure, it’s not a video of an autopsy, but it’s very intriguing.

5.ALIEN CRAFT ON THE MOON

One of the great things about working around people who have been up in space, is you’re likely to hear about some of the weird stuff that they see. You know, before you receive a clandestine visit from a shadowy organization that for some unknown reason would hire Will Smith.

A former NASA contract employee, Donna Hare revealed that she had spoken to a man who had been in quarantine with astronauts returning from the moon, and they spoke about what they had seen there.

However, according to Hare’s source, the astronauts were given explicit instructions never to mention this craft to anyone. Probably less because they want to cover up alien life, than they want people to believe the US were the first beings on the moon.

4.THE MILITARY SHOT AN ALIEN

Well, it seems that the government’s approach to alien life is not one of benign co-operation. More like, kill it before it kills you. At least according to former Air Force Major George Filer III.

According to Filer, when he was stationed at the McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey, he witnessed an alien craft landing on the runway.

Did the military run up the welcome flag? Throw out a red carpet? Put on a nice buffet?

No.

Filer said that when the alien being got out of it’s craft, a member of the military police shot it dead. He was initially told to brief general staff on the incident, but was soon ordered to hush up about it.

Probably to stop a potential “alien lives matter” movement. The government finds those protests a bit awkward.

3. DEATHBED CONFESSION

Aliens could still explain the 'Wow signal,' scientists say

This month an astronomer claimed to have debunked a mysterious 1977 radio signal from deep space, but other scientists aren't buying his theory.

Is this aliens letting the phone ring just once?

A story circulating this month suggests the 40-year-old mystery of the so-called Wow! signal from space has been solved, but a number of scientists aren't convinced.

The Wow signal was a one-time blip picked up by Ohio State University's "Big Ear" radio telescope in 1977 that appeared to be of extraterrestrial origin -- so much so that astronomer Jerry R. Ehman wrote "Wow!" on a printout of the data. Others have tried to pick up the signal again over the ensuing decades without luck, allowing the mystery to endure. 

A number of possible explanations, including a star or even aliens, have been proposed over the years without eliciting much consensus among scientists. The latest comes from Antonio Paris, an adjunct professor at Florida's St. Petersburg College, who proposes in a new paper that the Wow signal came not from aliens, but from comets.

Paris' basic proposal is that the clouds of hydrogen emitted by two comets that were in the neighborhood "are strong candidates for the source of the 1977 'Wow' signal." You can dig deeper into the research by checking out the full paper (PDF link).

This hypothesis doesn't sit well with a number of scientists, however. 

Best places in space to search for alien life

Yvette Cendes, a radio astronomer and Ph.D. candidate at the University of Toronto, confirmed to me that she's not at all convinced by Paris' paper and cometary explanation for the odd signal. She wrote a detailed takedown of the comet hypothesis on Reddit that's now beginning to work its way around the internet as well. 

Cendes raises a tentative eyebrow at Paris' credentials and the obscure journal that published his paper, the Journal of the Washington Academy of Sciences, before moving on to the study itself. 

"This paper was also just really, really, really short on details that a radio astronomer would want, to the point where it likely wouldn't have passed a referee at a 'regular' journal," she writes, before going on to suggest the signal Paris picked up may have actually come from our sun rather than comets. 

"The comet hypothesis, in my opinion, doesn't work," Seth Shostak of the SETI Institute concurred in a blog post. Shostak cites the comments of Robert Dixon, who was director of the Ohio State observatory back in 1977. "Dixon (says) the comets were nowhere near the telescope's sight lines when the signal was found."

Oxford physics professor Chris Lintott was so put off by the comet hypothesis that he compiled a list of questions for Paris about his work. Paris responded that he plans to review them and respond as soon as he's done with a current round of traveling.

Berwyn Mountains UFO Crash: 40 years on, it’s still a mystery

On January 23, 1974, people reported hearing a huge bang, felt earth tremors and saw a brilliant light in the sky above the Berwyn Mountains. Families in the villages of Llandderfel and Llandrillo were settling down to watch TV when an explosion was heard and the ground shook. It measured 3.5 on the Richter scale. As people ran from their homes fearing another tremor, they saw a blaze of light on the mountainside.

A nurse who believed an aircraft had crashed drove to the site and saw a pulsating orange and red glow on the hillside and other lights.

Police converged on the area and emergency services were put on standby. Although searches were undertaken, officially nothing was found – leading to claims of a cover-up.

In the four decades since there has been a huge debate as to what exactly happened that night, with TV documentaries made and books written on the subject.

Some researchers have claimed a UFO crashed, with further claims “bodies” were retrieved and taken away by soldiers. Other theories suggest it was a meteor shower combined with an earthquake – the epicentre of which was at Bala Lake – and the misperception of poachers on the hillside carrying lamps.

Over the years more information has surfaced which has added to the enigma. In 2008 the Daily Post acquired official documents showing how Gwynedd Police were bombarded with calls and eye witness accounts of the strange event, with some convinced they had seen a UFO. They gave a fascinating insight into what was going on that night.

A witness who saw an object on the hillside said in a statement: “Saw bright red light, like coal fire red. Large perfect circle. Like a big bonfire. Could see lights above and to the right and white lights moving to bottom. Light changed colour to yellowish white and back again.”

A message in a police log said: “There’s been a large explosion in the area and there is a large fire in the mountainside. I can see the fire where I am.”

Telex message to chief constable Gwynedd constabulary. 22.00pm approx 23/1/74: Saw bright green lights, object with tail – travelling west. Saw about Bangor direction – dropped down.

At approx 10pm on 23/1/74: Saw a circular light in the sky at an estimated height of 1,500 feet. This object exploded and pieces fell to the ground. Mr …… estimates the pieces would have fallen into the sea between Rhyl and Liverpool.

In 2010 key witness, retired nurse Pat Evans, insisted she saw something strange on the mountainside. At the time she said: “It (the object) couldn’t have got there any other way apart from being flown there, so it had to be a UFO of some sort. I’m talking about something that could only have got there by flying and landing.”

Ms Evans, who was living in Llandderfel, near Bala, added: “We just saw this huge ball glowing and pulsating on the mountain. Some lights seemed to be scattered around it and I just wish we’d stayed to see what the end result was – whether it would just disappear or fly away.

“We didn’t see anybody on the road even though there were various reports that we were told to go away by armed police and military etc, which was all totally untrue.

“We’d heard an almighty bang and we live at the foot of the mountain. I thought it might have been a plane crash. Me being a nurse and my girls being in St John (Ambulance), I thought we could help.”

She told how the object glowed orange, red and yellow and was “moon like, but without windows or doors”. Mrs Evans added: “I’ve never seen anything like it before or since. I have no idea what it was.”

A document from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency revealed a military operation, codenamed Photoflash, was scheduled for that evening. It involved about 10 military aircraft and a series of powerful flashes across the North Wales coast and Liverpool Bay.

The MCA letter said: “During the late afternoon and early evening of 23rd January 1974 there was an exercise from Jerby Range on the Isle of Man. The exercise was called ‘Photoflash’ and coastguards were advised to expect at least 10 aircraft taking part and at least 80 flashes around the Liverpool Bay area and the North Wales coastline.”

There was no more information from official sources on that specific exercise and if it was connected to Berwyn. A spokesman at the RAF Museum Research Department suggested photoflash operations were used for training exercises to illuminate the ground below.

But the mystery still remains. Researcher Russ Kellett still believes the answer is out there: “I have been researching this for years and I am convinced there was more than one UFO involved that night,” he said. “All the evidence that we have uncovered over the years has consistently pointed that way.”

THE INEVITABLE IS ALMOST HERE: WHAT’S GOING TO HAPPEN WHEN THE WHOLE WORLD FINDS OUT?

Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) have been a topic of interest for decades, and with the recent release of thousands of previously classified government documents, we now know without question that government, military, and other defence agencies have had a high level of interest in this topic for a very long time.

These files indicate that objects are commonly tracked on both air and ground radar, as well as visually confirmed by the pilots who are sent out to intercept them.

Everything is in a process of investigation both in the United States and in Spain, as well as the rest of the world. The nations of the world are currently working together in the investigation of the UFO phenomenon. There is an international exchange of data. – General Carlos Castro Cavero (1979). For instance, here is an excellent example of a defence intelligence agency report detailing what commonly happens when a UFO is tracked on radar, and pilots attempt to intercept it (one of thousands). Apart from traveling at tremendous speeds and performing impossible maneuvers that no known aircraft can perform, when military jets enter the object’s vicinity, they usually experience critical instrumentation failure.

When President Truman made the statement that they discuss this issue at every conference that the government has held with the military, many people took notice. Peter Andrew Sturrock, a British scientist and an Emeritus Professor of Applied Physics at Stanford University, reminded us decades ago that we need to move forward with UFO research; this was in the 1960s. He stated that:

If it does indeed turn out that there is relevant physical evidence, if this evidence is carefully collected and analyzed, and if this analysis leads to the identification of several facts concerning the UFO phenomenon, then will be the time for scientists to step back and ask, What are these facts trying to tell us? After that, we had scientists like Dr. Jacques Vallee, notable for co-developing the first computerized mapping of Mars for NASA, and for his work at SRI International on the network information centre for ARPANET, a precursor to the modern Internet, publishing work in peer-reviewed scientific journals. For example, a study published in Scientific Exploration titled “Estimates of Optical Power Output in Six Cases Of Unexplained Aeriel Objects With Defined Luminosity Characteristics.” Apart from performing impossible maneuvers, the files also indicate some sort of electromagnetic effect when craft enter the vicinity of some of these UFOs. Critical weapons and electronic systems completely shut down. You can read about a classic example of that from two Canadian military pilots here.

Above is just a tidbit of information regarding the UFO phenomenon. This field is littered with information ranging from declassified documents, from video footage, to statements from some of the ‘highest-ranking’ military and political people in the world.

So, ask yourself, why has it taken so long to accustom people to the fact that these objects are real, do exist, and have possibly existed well before the existence of modern day humans? Former head of the CIA, Roscoe Hillenoketter told the NY times in 1960 that:

Behind the scenes, high ranking Air Force officers are soberly concerned about UFOs. But through official secrecy and ridicule, many citizens are led to believe the unknown flying objects are nonsense.

Here is an excellent video summarizing the UFO problem up in 10 minutes, give by UFO researcher Richard Dolan, given at the citizens hearing on disclosure organized by Steven Basset. It was a conference that gathered academicians, high ranking military and political personnel from around the world. I’ve used it multiple times in my articles so forgive me if you’ve already seen it.

UFO doesn’t necessarily mean extraterrestrial, but, as with all of the evidence that presented itself prior to the disclosure of their existence, we have similar evidence and a great deal of information to believe that the extraterrestrial hypothesis is a possible explanation for some of these UFOs. Today, more than half of the American population believes in their existence, and this was before dozens of governments decided to disclose their existence. Perhaps it’s stories like the one that came out of Zimbabwe decades ago, where Harvard professor John Mack, heavily sponsored by Lawrence Rockefeller, uncovered a case of more than 60 school children witnessing a large craft landing with alien beings emerging from it. Perhaps it’s the fact that hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people have reported supposed encounters with extraterrestrial beings, either forced, friendly, or ‘unfriendly,’ or perhaps it’s the implant phenomenon.

The list as to why the extraterrestrial hypothesis is plausible is a very long one, just as with the UFO phenomenon and the validity of it before it became mainstream, the reality of the extraterrestrial hypothesis is also very plausible, and based on my 10 + years of research, 100% definite. As former NASA astronaut and Princeton Physics professor Brian O’leary told the world, “there is abundant evidence that we are being contacted, that civilizations have been visiting us for a very long time.” (source)

Even in the mainstream, scientists have told the world that we are not alone, that the probability for that possibility is next to zero, and that extraterrestrial life will most likely be discovered within the next couple of years.

What Will Happen When The World Finds Out We Are Not Alone?

The question is not if, it’s when.

We’ve been bombarded with alien propaganda for decades, and now, the topic is being taken more seriously by the mainstream, and people within the public eye. Hilary Clinton is a great example, as she is getting mainstream coverageregarding her willingness to ‘find out the truth.’ Even the head of her current presidential campaign, Jon Podesta, is a big advocate for UFO disclosure.

But this is confusing, given the fact that a number of government and military officials worldwide have been telling us the truth for decades. Why is truth only truth when mainstream media, or a person of extreme popularity within the public eye brings it up? This is a problem. When a big event happens, like 9/11, or, let’s say, an official announcement about the extraterrestrial presence, the worldwide population will be glued to the TV screen awaiting an explanation, without questioning it. I would be cautious of any information we receive from western governments that comes in the form of a major announcement.

We’ve seen deception on a number of different topics, from the ‘war on drugs’ to the ‘war on terror,’ so don’t expect something like this to be any different. Mainstream media like sot take real events and twist our perception regarding what’s going on behind them.

That being said, when we do find out, en masse, that we are not alone, there are so many questions to ask. The mere existence of these UFOs without the alien hypothesis even being contemplated brings up questions of science. How are they moving the way they do? They perform maneuvers that no known aircraft can. They tend to stop on a dime and hover, what type of propulsion systems are they using?

It’s certainly not the burning of fossil fuels. Who are they? Where do they come from? What else do they know? How do they get here? What about religion? What about panic? What about all of the years of secrecy and the questions that have been asked and answered by those keeping secrets? As you can imagine, there will be multiple questions, and you can bet that the world will come to a standstill in search of answers to their questions. It’s a topic that will touch all aspects of humanity, and humanity would be changed forever.

Perhaps the realization that we are not alone, and eventual open contact with extraterrestrials can help us answer questions about ourselves. Of course, contact is already happening, just not on a massive scale.

It seems to me that we are beyond the ‘panic’ point. I personally believe that we’ve been visited for a very long time, and if anything like that was to ever happen, it would have already taken place.

To really learn more about this topic, one has to be interested in it. To find out the why, whats, and the where, one can do the research and come up with educated guesses without ever being sure. It’s a deep topic that has branched into so many other areas of our existence: to faith, to health, and technology, all the way to our socio-economic structure and the way we decide to do things here on our planet.

The main point here is that people are going to have questions, and we are going to need teachers other than those who have been using mainstream media to dish out lies to the masses in order to fulfill some sort of agenda.

It will no doubt be interesting to see, in fact, it’s already taking place on an individual level. Slowly but surely.

“In August 1949, in order to test the updated air defences of England against attack, Operation Bulldog was launched. Operation Bulldog’s attacking forces consisted of aircraft of the Benelux countries supported by U.S. air squadrons based on the continent. Flying from various airfields in Holland, France, Belgium and Germany, their objective was to attack London and other prime targets in southern and midland England, without being officially ‘downed’ by fighter aircraft brought into action by the defensive network of Fighter Command.

“The radar defense chain extended from Land’s End, along the south coast and up to the north of Scotland, overlapping at all heights from sea level to about 100,000 feet. Even so long ago, it was almost impossible to fly a glider across the Channel without it being plotted. The exercise ran for fifteen days and was structured in such a way that the technical resources and personnel of the defensive screen were stretched to the limit.”

Oliver continued as follows: “I was, at the time, a radar operator AC1, stationed at RAF Sandwich in Kent, a Ground Control Interception station, used to verbally direct fighter aircraft onto target aircraft by means of radar guidance and radio transmission. In conjunction with neighbouring radar stations, our function, especially during Bulldog, was a busy one. As can be appreciated, air and sea traffic in the vicinity of the Channel tended to be heavier than in other areas of the UK and this reflected in the general high performance of radar stations in that area. All personnel at RAF Sandwich were fully skilled and right on top of their job. Two watches were kept, A and B, on alternate twelve-hour shifts for the duration of Bulldog. About a week into the exercise, after a few hours of being busy, we were stood down, about midnight. Things had gone slack and ‘Group’ had advised is that we could take a break. This was in the normal run of things during the exercise and except for one radar operator to keep general watch and one other to man the PBX, there was a general move into the small canteen across the corridor.”

It wasn’t long at all before something very weird occurred (and that’s putting it mildly, to say the least…) as Oliver noted in his letter: “Within about fifteen minutes, the PBX operator came in, approached the Duty Controller and advised him that Bethe first to see the contact and my plot was the first to go on the plot board. As other operators took their positions, more plots were called out concerning position of the object and its height. The object was flying roughly parallel with the south coast, from west to east. Reaching a point out to see off the ‘heel’ of Kent, it abruptly turned north and as it approached the Thames estuary we passed it on to Martlesham radar, with whom we had been in contact via the PBX link, and whose radar area impinged on our own. Shortly after, we lost contact with it, due to the limit of our own radar range.”

Oliver then noted something even more incredible: “It was a simple matter to assess the speed of the object from the times and distances between plots and its height was directly read from our Type 13 radar, designed specifically to read the height of any aircraft within its range. Flying at close to 50,000 feet, the air speed of the object we had observed and plotted in accordance with RAF standard procedures was assessed at very nearly 3,000 miles per hour [italics mine].”

What was the true nature of the object tracked by multiple military installations back in 1949? Could it have been a brazen penetration of British airspace by the Russians? A glitch on numerous radar screens? Or something even stranger? In part-2 of this article – “The Mother Of All UFOs?” – you will see how and why the “something even stranger” angle is almost certainly the correct one…

The Mother Of All UFOs? Part-2

Part-1 of this article introduced you to the incredible story of the late J.R. Oliver. He was a man who, in 1949, was involved in a sensational UFO encounter at the height of a U.K. military exercise code-named Operation Bulldog. In a letter sent to UFO researcher Tim Good in 1991 (and which Tim copied to me, and that Oliver’s widow generously let me publish), Oliver revealed that at the height of the operation a definitive UFO was tracked on radar by the staff of multiple military installations in the U.,K. It was a UFO that was estimated to have been flying close to 3,000 miles per hour. With that said, let’s now continue with what else Oliver had to say about the UFO encounter and the UFO itself:

“The general consensus regarding its size, among the very experienced radar personnel engaged in the operations, was that the object offered an echo similar to that of a large passenger or freighter surface vessel, something in the region of 15,000 or 20,00 tons [italics mine]. Word filtered down that on approaching Bempton radar in Yorkshire, the object suddenly increased speed and headed directly upwards, vanished off-screen at about 100,000 feet.” That was hardly the end of the story, however. In fact, there was more to come. Much more.

Back to Oliver: “Naturally, there was quite a bit of a buzz about this, especially as at that time speeds in excess of the speed of sound were just not on. Neither were aircraft the size of liners. The airspeed record at that time stood at 606.36 mph and the largest aircraft in general use was probably the USAAF Superfortress, which lumbered along at about 350 mph. At our usual relief time ‘B’ Watch stood down and went to breakfast and bed at the domestic site at Stonar House. We were awakened from our watch slumbers by Sergeant Platt and assembled in front of Stonar House, with our Sergeant Belcher, Sergeant Hatter, and various minor NCOs [Non-Commissioned Officers] in attendance, for an address by Squadron Leader Mundy.”

Oliver went on to reveal what, exactly, Squadron Leader Mundy had to say about this extraordinary situation: “He reminded us of our duties as serving members of the RAF and the requirements of the OSA [Official Secrets Act] and to forget especially the odd circumstances of the past night and not to mention same to anyone not connected to the RAF. Going on watch that evening we found that the Duty Watch Book, normally only replaced when completely full, which recorded every air engagement, every PBX message, every official order by the watch-keeping officer, made during every official part of previous watches, including the previous night’s activities, as an official Watch Book is required to do…had gone [italics mine]. Replaced by a brand new shining Duty Watch Book. I wonder why? Removing a half empty Watch Book was unheard of, during exercises such as Bulldog especially.”

Oliver continued with his account: “The rest of the exercise took its natural course and about a month later my service with the RAF ended. Whether there were any further developments regarding this incident I do not know but it seems likely that evidence of its happening must be on file somewhere. This incident was observed by such a large and highly trained audience, its progress so well documented and meticulously recorded and, no doubt, the technical aspects so well scrutinized by top-ranking experts that the official documentation of its occurrence would settle the UFO controversy permanently.”

Oliver’s final words: “All aspects of Operation Bulldog were due to be analysed in great depth in order to bring our defence against possible nuclear attack to the highest level. There is no doubt that the incident I have described, totally beyond the expectations of the organizing authorities as it must have been, would receive the closest scrutiny and that many opinions must have been placed on record. In addition to the personnel directly involved in the tracking of the object, it is highly likely that a good many people must have gained knowledge of this occurrence and thereof proof of it happening may not be too far in hiding.”

Despite Mr. Oliver’s hope that records on the affair were preserved and might one day surface, such a thing has not happened. At least, not yet it hasn’t. Back in 1995, I spent a few days at the U.K.’s National Archives, and, while I did find some records on Operation Bulldog – some declassified and others withheld – the records on that massive craft that penetrated British airspace and prompted a hasty cover-up of the evidence were nowhere to be found. Perhaps, now – in light of all the data provided in parts 1 and 2 of this article – it’s time for someone else to try and dig out the truth (and the files) of the Operation Bulldog-UFO affair of 1949. Just maybe they will finally surface and we may gain more insight into the early years of the UFO phenomenon.

Meanwhile, the journalists edition managed to read the text of the service report that was directed to the head of the district of Prikubansky County police department Ivan Bondarev. The newspaper reported that a resident of the village Vodniki was on the road in the district of Krasnodar Vitaminkombinata about 4:00 on June 2 and in the forest belt near the spacecraft where he made an alien landing- "7 beings in silver with height of about 7 meters. "
