The outrageous claims came from a shadowy figure who appeared on Las Vegas television, his face completely obscured, on an unassuming Friday in May of 1989. There were nine flying saucers out in the desert near Area 51, he said – ‘flying discs’ being tested and flown and analyzed secretly by the US government. He’d seen them, this mystery man claimed; not only that, he’d worked to reverse engineer the propulsion systems on aircraft that would have been ‘totally impossible’ for US officials to have created themselves.

‘The propulsion system is a gravity propulsion system,’ the man – going by the pseudonym of ‘Dennis’ – told journalists in the studio. ‘The power source is an antimatter reactor. This technology does not exist at all.

‘In fact, one of the reasons I’m coming forward with this information, it’s not only a crime against the American people; it’s a crime against the scientific community, which I’ve been part of for some time, who are actively trying to duplicate these systems. Yet they are in existence now, basically, in the hands of the government.’

And the government had gone to great lengths to keep him from talking, the ‘scientist’ claimed. He’d been warned that he’d be prosecuted for espionage; even his life – and that of his wife – had been threatened, he claimed.

‘Anything could happen; I don’t know,’ said the man, sounding resigned. ‘I haven’t the slightest idea.’

It wouldn’t be long before ‘Dennis’ was unmasked as Bob Lazar, an infamous name that continues to cause controversy and ripples in ufology communities around the world to this day. Type ‘Bob Lazar’ into Google, and almost every site, blog or thread mentioning him is niche, a playground for alien enthusiasts and conspiracy theorists. There’s not a lot about him in the mainstream media, particularly 30 years later.

But in November 1989, when he appeared again on television, this time unobscured, Lazar’s coke bottle-glasses and deadpan, bookish appearance became recognizable globally. His claims about working near Area 51 at a hangar called S-4 – where he insisted he’d seen alien aircraft fitted with tiny seats and constructed with a then-undiscovered material called Element 115 – brought news crews from all over the country and the world, throngs of tourists hot on their heels.

While Lazar, left, now enjoys a low-profile and rarely speaks about his alleged work, he agreed to participate in the new film - directed by Jeremy Corbell, right - because he says he still receives 'emails from people wondering what happened to me and what direction my life took since releasing the information years ago. In addition, I have heard and seen so many fabricated stories and ridiculous versions of my life and experiences that it actually became entertaining. It seemed like there needed to be something on the record – something current’

Listening at home in 1989, as Lazar steadfastly stood by his literally out-of-this world claims, was a curious 13-year-old named Jeremy Corbell. While Lazar faded from the public eye as time wore on, Corbell remained riveted by what he’d heard – and now, nearly 30 years later, he has directed new documentary Bob Lazar: Area 51 and Flying Saucers, about the controversial figure – re-investigating Lazar’s assertions and following the scientist to his quiet home in small-town Michigan.

‘This concept that I heard on the radio was so transforming to me as a youth, as a kid at 13, that it weaponized my imagination,’ Corbell tells DailyMail.com. ‘It weaponized my curiosity. It forced me to want to become an active participant in learning the truth about UFOs.’

Filmmaker Corbell names as his mentor journalist George Knapp, who first introduced Lazar to the world and who has continued investigating extraterrestrial claims over the decades. Knapp features prominently in the documentary, and both he and Corbell exhibit similar personalities: animated but deliberate, drawn as much to unexplained phenomena as soundbites and flowery language. Corbell describes Lazar to DailyMail.com, varyingly, as ‘like the Elvis,’ ‘the Bigfoot,’ and ‘the Messiah’ of ufology.

Lazar himself, however, displays the opposite demeanor. He’s matter-of-fact in the documentary; his glasses, his haircut, and his deadpan delivery haven’t changed in the slightest since his 1989 TV spot – and neither has his insistence that he saw what he saw, he worked where he worked, and the US government was absolutely studying alien aircraft more than 30 years ago. (The government denied the existence of Area 51 until CIA documents were released five years ago which listed the location as an aerial test site - though not for extraterrestrial spacecraft.)

‘It’s changed my life a lot,’ Lazar says in the film, referring to his alleged part in those studies and his decision to go public. ‘It’s probably changed every aspect of it … for the most part, negative. I mean, it’s really difficult to find positive aspects of that. I mean, I’m sure there are some here and there, but most of them were negative.’ 

A major industry has built up in Nevada around Area 51 and alleged alien research done there, with businesses latching onto the theme to attract traffic and the state even renaming a 92-mile stretch of State Route 375 the Extraterrestrial Highway in 1996; journalist George Knapp says in the film that, after Lazar made his claims in 1989, 'every major news organization in the world beat a path to Area 51'

The repercussions were so negative, he says, that he likely wouldn’t make the same decisions if he were given the chance again.

‘At this point in my life, I’d probably lean towards not saying anything,’ he says.

He agreed to participate in the documentary, however, to set the record straight about his life after 1989.

‘I constantly receive emails from people wondering what happened to me and what direction my life took since releasing the information years ago,’ he tells DailyMail.com in an email relayed by Corbell. ‘In addition, I have heard and seen so many fabricated stories and ridiculous versions of my life and experiences that it actually became entertaining. It seemed like there needed to be something on the record – something current.’

He’s made a life for himself in Michigan with his wife, Joy, and Lazar continued a career in science; he runs United Nuclear, which sells chemicals, lasers, lab materials and other scientific products. Surprisingly, however, he claims to have left the world of UFOs far behind.

‘I do not follow UFO stories or reports and am not interested in researching life outside of Earth,’ he tells DailyMail.com. ‘My primary interest was, and still is, the incredibly advanced technology. I know if we can control and develop it, it can change the world.’

Despite his low-profile lifestyle, however, he still maintains that the government hasn’t forgotten about him. While he doesn’t assert that the government is necessarily after him, he does believe he’s being watched.

‘At the risk of sounding paranoid, I do always have a suspicion that someone is monitoring me – it’s something that is difficult to get out of my mind.’

He says that a ‘recent FBI raid’ – which is touched on in the film, though neither video cameras nor Corbell were present for it – ‘pretty much cements it in my mind.’

And Lazar isn’t the only one alleging big brother-type activity; journalist Knapp backs him up on it wholeheartedly, telling DailyMail.com in an email provided by Corbell that he’d seen firsthand some ‘strange events’ when the story first broke.

‘There were break-ins at Lazar’s home,’ he says. ‘His vehicle also had break-ins. Mind games being played. Threats were issued. Lazar and others were bugged and followed, and it certainly seemed like someone wanted to frighten him into remaining silent, or maybe they wanted to drive him a little crazy.

‘I was present for many of these events. I saw them with my own eyes, and I witnessed the aftermath as well. I also know that I was followed for several months and that my phone at KLAS was tapped for a time. This became apparent after six different people who had spoken to me by phone were visited and threatened by persons who worked for federal agencies and/or defense contractors with ties to Groom Lake. The witnesses did not know each other and did not know me but had agreed to provide me with statements which generally supported the story told by Lazar. All six changed their minds about sharing information with me after they were visited – and threatened – by these unknown operatives.’

As all of this alleged intimidation was going on, Knapp and many others were trying to verify many of Lazar’s claims – with little success. The ‘whistleblower,’ who was born in Florida, claimed he’d attended MIT and the California Institute of Technology, though there was no record of him at either school. His credibility was also damaged when, in 1990, he pleaded guilty to pandering in connection with the business of a prostitute – a charge wholly unrelated to science and ufology but detrimental to his reputation nonetheless.

Lazar also claimed to have worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory; this time, in fact, Knapp found Lazar’s name in the laboratory’s 1982 phonebook – bolstering his claims.

‘I thought I set the record straight 30 years ago,’ Lazar says in the documentary. ‘I don’t know – what else can I say? … How can I prove anything else? Do you think Los Alamos just hired me out of high school?’

He continues: ‘I don’t understand how everybody gets so caught up in the minutiae – because you can debate this stuff forever. We can go back before MIT, and you can start fighting [about] whether or not, where I lived in high school; that is not going to translate into answering the questions and the things that I brought into the public eye.  

'Tens of thousands of people started showing up out there to see whatever it was that was flying around in the desert; they're still coming, all these years later,' Knapp says in the film

Lazar claims to have attended MIT and Caltech before working at Los Alamos National Laboratory and near Area 51 at a hangar called S-4; neither school has any record of him attending. He counters: 'Do you think Los Alamos just hired me out of high school?'

Phyllis Berliner, Lazar's mother, shares a story in the film about how her son outfitted a bicycle with 'a jet engine' as a boy; she adds: 'You believe him or not. It’s a fearful thing to think that there’s something out there that we don’t know anything about. Are they dangerous? Can they hurt us? Will they attack us? You don’t want to know, so you don’t believe it. You’d rather not believe there might be other things out there, other things in the universe. There has to be. We can’t be all by ourselves. We can’t be'

While evidence was never uncovered to support many of Lazar's claims, his name was found listed in a 1982 Los Alamos phone directory and an article that pre-dated  his TV appearances listed him as a scientist with the national laboratory

Lazar now runs United Nuclear in small-town Michigan, which producers lasers and other scientific materials and equipment; he leads a quiet life with his wife, Joy, who told filmmaker Cobell: 'I don’t know about UFOs and all this stuff, but I’ll tell you one thing – he’s the most honest person that I have ever met, and I’ve slept next to him for 18 years’

‘That’s the important stuff. It almost seems like this is an intentional distraction. You need to pay attention to the bigger picture. If you really want to research all the other stuff, fine, go ahead and do it – but you really need to pay attention to what I’m saying, because I have better things to do than coming up with this.

‘I don’t like being in the public eye; I don’t have money for doing this – and, quite frankly, I could make up a better lie. But I have no motivation to lie; this hasn’t helped me out.’

Corbell, for his part, went to great lengths to verify some of Lazar’s claims. The ‘scientist’ had always described a security device which scanned the bones of employees’ hands at secret government locations; the filmmaker found one on the internet, and Lazar reacts with a mixture of amazement and satisfaction when Corbell points it out on camera.

Lazar had also described a man named Mike Thigpen who he said vetted him for government work; Corbell says in the documentary that he tracked the man down to the East Coast, and Thigpen confirmed the information via phone. But Thigpen, Corbell says, declines to appear on camera ‘because he doesn’t want to put a dark shadow on the work he did before – but personally conveyed that was his job, that was exactly what he did in Vegas in 1989.’

And various outside developments over the years have also given more weight to Lazar’s story, many claim. Fifteen years ago, an Element 115 was added to the periodic table – moscovium, a radioactive synthetic element first synthesized by a joint team of Russian and American scientists. On top of that, just last year the Department of Defense confirmed for the first time that it had financed a UFO program – after officials denied for decades that any such research had ever existed anywhere within the government.

All of those developments – and likely the alleged verifications made by Corbell in his film – serve as a major boon for Lazar’s supporters. The documentary also interviews the people who know him best – his friend, his wife, a United Nuclear employee, even Lazar’s mother – in an effort to get to the heart of who Lazar really is and what he truly believes.

His wife, a trim, sharply dressed blond Lazar met more than a decade after his 1989 fame, is ‘a godsend in his life; they share great moral strength and fiber and values,’ Corbell tells DailyMail.com.

He continues: ‘Bob’s wife doesn’t care about UFOs; she didn’t date Bob 18 years ago, get together with Bob … she didn’t even know about the UFOs. They don’t talk about UFOs. That’s not their life; that’s not their relationship.

‘However, she did tell me one thing. She said something about Bob; she said, “I don’t know about UFOs and all this stuff, but I’ll tell you one thing – he’s the most honest person that I have ever met, and I’ve slept next to him for 18 years."'

And whatever academic credentials Lazar may or may not have, his mother, Phyllis Berliner, paints the picture of a child gifted with a scientific mind from a very young age. She describes in the film being awoken by a huge bang at 6 o’clock one Sunday morning when Lazar was a boy, after he outfitted his bicycle with ‘a jet engine.’

She felt ‘scared out of my mind,’ Berliner says in the documentary. ‘I didn’t know what he was going to do next – was he going to blow up the house? Blow up the world?’

She adds: ‘I want him to be happy. If vindication is what he wants, fine. But that’s up to him. You believe him or not. It’s a fearful thing to think that there’s something out there that we don’t know anything about. Are they dangerous? Can they hurt us? Will they attack us? You don’t want to know, so you don’t believe it. You’d rather not believe there might be other things out there, other things in the universe.

‘There has to be. We can’t be all by ourselves. We can’t be,’ she says.

In addition to the work he says he witnessed at Area 51, Lazar tells DailyMail.com: ‘I’m certain research continues involving the working of the alien craft and technology – somewhere in the USA, but I do have to wonder, what other projects government entities might be involved with along the same lines'

By showcasing Lazar’s daily life – his day job, his friends and family, the overall ordinariness of it nowadays – Corbell says, he hopes viewers will get to the heart of who Lazar truly is.

‘If you have a profound message, if you have a deep idea, it is a tactic of warfare … do divert people from a message or divert people from looking at something important,’ the filmmaker tells DailyMail.com. ‘You dehumanize the messenger, and that is precisely what people have done to Bob Lazar unchallenged, almost unchallenged.’

He adds: ‘For three decades, they tried to dehumanize him – fake news – and they tried to distort his story. What you’re seeing in the film is his daily life; that is his life, that’s his wife of 18 years. Does she believe him? Does he lie to his wife? Does he lie to his mom? Who are the people around him? This is a real guy with real people in his life.’

It’s a view shared by Knapp, an award-winning and well-known Nevada television reporter and personality.

‘What has always been missing is the human element,’ he tells DailyMail.com. ‘That is what the new film provides. It allows us to see Bob Lazar as an actual person, instead of a UFO punching bag who has been subjected to nearly three decades of accusations and ridicule.’

Corbell says: ‘If this story’s true, it is probably the most important UFO story in human history, because it reveals the truth: That we have not only been in contact with other extremely advanced, technologically intelligent [beings] … but that we have physical craft. We have machines from these other entities.’

He adds: ‘The most important part about all of this is that there are two generations of human beings who were born after Bob Lazar first came forward, and this is their chance to engage this material where they have never seen it before.

‘So millions of people, yes, will be introduced to the Bob Lazar story, but these millions of people are living in a different world than we lived in in 1989,’ he says, citing the DoD admission of UFO studies, which ‘totally sheds a different light on the Bob Lazar story.’

Corbell says: ‘For the last three decades, Bob Lazar’s critics have been holding the mic – and it’s time to take the mic back.’

And giving that ‘mic’ to Lazar now broadcasts the same extraordinary yet insistent assertions he made nearly 30 years ago, delivered in the same steady, scientific voice of a man who’s barely aged a day since he caused a media firestorm. It also gives him a chance to say a bit more with the benefit of hindsight and advances that have been made in the intervening years.

‘I’m certain research continues involving the working of the alien craft and technology – somewhere in the USA, but I do have to wonder, what other projects Government entities might be involved with along the same lines,’ Lazar says.

After traveling through space for more than two years and over two billion kilometers, NASA’s OSIRIS-REx spacecraft arrived at its destination, asteroid Bennu, today (Monday, December 3, 2018).

OSIRIS-REx (Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification, Security-Regolith Explorer) launched in September 2016 and has been slowly approaching Bennu. OSIRIS-REx is NASA’s first mission to visit a near-Earth asteroid, survey the surface, collect a sample and deliver it back to Earth. The spacecraft will spend almost a year surveying the asteroid with the goal of selecting a location that is safe and scientifically interesting to collect the sample.

That asteroid sample is expected to return to Earth via free fall from space, until it reaches an altitude of 20.8 miles (33.5 km), when a first parachute will deploy. At 1.9 miles (3 km), the main parachute will be released, bringing the capsule with its precious cargo from Bennu in for a soft landing in the Utah desert on September 24, 2023.

Bottom line: After traveling through space for more than 2 years, NASA’s OSIRIS-REx spacecraft arrived December 3, 2018, at its destination, asteroid Bennu.

Why Did the Mayan Civilization Collapse? A New Study Points to Deforestation and Climate Change

A severe drought, exacerbated by widespread logging, appears to have triggered the mysterious Mayan demise

It’s long been one of ancient history’s most intriguing mysteries: Why did the Maya, a remarkably sophisticated civilization made up of more than 19 million people, suddenly collapse sometime during the 8th or 9th centuries? Although the Mayan people never entirely disappeared—their descendants still live across Central America—dozens of core urban areas in the lowlands of the Yucatan peninsula, such as Tikal, went from bustling cities to abandoned ruins over the course of roughly a hundred years.

Scholars and laypeople have proposed countless theories accounting for the collapse, ranging from the plausible (overhunting, foreign invasion, peasant revolt) to the absurd (alien invasion, supernatural forces). In his 2005 book Collapse, though, Jared Diamond put forth a different sort of theory—that a prolonged drought, exacerbated by ill-advised deforestation, forced Mayan populations to abandon their cities. That hypothesis has finally been put to the test with archaeological evidence and environmental data and the results published this week in a pair of studies.

In the first study, published Tuesday in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, researchers from Arizona State University analyzed archaeological data from across the Yucatan to reach a better understanding of the environmental conditions when the area was abandoned. Around this time, they found, severe reductions in rainfall were coupled with an rapid rate of deforestation, as the Mayans burned and chopped down more and more forest to clear land for agriculture. Interestingly, they also required massive amounts of wood to fuel the fires that cooked the lime plaster for their elaborate constructions—experts estimate it would have taken 20 trees to produce a single square meter of cityscape.

The other study, published by researchers from Columbia University and elsewhere this week in Geophysical Research Letters, applied quantitative data to these trends. Using population records and measurements from current forested and cleared lands in the region, they constructed a computer model of deforestation in the Yucatan and ran simulations to see how this would have affected rainfall.

Because cleared land absorbs less solar radiation, less water evaporates from its surface, making clouds and rainfall more scarce. As a result, the rapid deforestation exacerbated an already severe drought—in the simulation, deforestation reduced precipitation by five to 15 percent and was responsible for 60 percent of the total drying that occurred over the course of a century as the Mayan civilization collapsed. The lack of forest cover also contributed to erosion and soil depletion.

In a time of unprecedented population density, this combination of factors was likely catastrophic. Crops failed, especially because the droughts occurred disproportionately during the summer growing season. Coincidentally, trade shifted from overland routes, which crossed the heart of the lowland, to sea-based voyages, moving around the perimeter of the peninsula.

Since the traditional elite relied largely upon this trade—along with annual crop surpluses—to build wealth, they were sapped of much of their power. This forced peasants and craftsmen into making a critical choice, perhaps necessary to escape starvation: abandoning the lowlands. The results are the ornate ruins that stretch across the peninsula today.

The collapse is especially intriguing because it seemingly occurred at “a time in which developed a sophisticated understanding of their environment, built and sustained intensive production and water systems and withstood at least two long-term episodes of aridity,” says B.L. Turner, the lead author of the ASU study. In other words, the Maya were no fools. They knew their environment and how to survive within it—and still they continued deforesting at a rapid pace, until the local environment was unable to sustain their society.

One of the lessons of these complementary studies, says climate modeler Robert Oglesby of the University of Nebraska, who worked on the second paper, is that our reshaping of the environment can often have unintended consequences—and we may not have any idea of what they are until it’s too late. For a present-day example, we can even look to another region where the ancient Maya lived, Guatemala, which is undergoing rapid deforestation. “There’s a tremendous amount of change going on in Guatemala,” said Oglesby. “They may be that much more vulnerable to a severe drought.”

L’incroyable ovni de la taille de Jupiter…

Ces photos ont été prises par le système SOHO, Solar and Heliospheric Observatory, un observatoire du soleil mis en place par la NASA et l’ESA. Sur les différents clichés, on peut voir ce qui semble être un ovni ayant une forme allongée et semblant être composé de plusieurs cercles. L’objet en question semble plonger dans le soleil. Difficile de dire la raison de cette collision.

Les dimensions de notre appareil semblent assez proche de celui de la planète Jupiter, ce qui en fait un ovni de très grande taille. Pour certains ufologues, cet engin serait entré en contact avec le soleil afin de refaire le plein d’énergie. Pour d’autres, il se serait écrasé sur notre étoile.

L’objet qui a été photographié a un aspect assez étonnant. Sa forme est parfaitement symétrique. Il est translucide et semble être composé de plusieurs parties. Il n’est pas sans rappeler certaines cellules ou créature microscopique. Les dimensions de notre appareil semblent assez proches de celui de la planète Jupiter, ce qui en fait un ovni de très grande taille. Difficile de vraiment savoir de quoi il s’agit. Si pour certains ufologues, il s’agit d’un ovni, on pourrait aussi penser à une anomalie provenant d’une lentille du télescope. Il serait intéressant de savoir s’il a été ou non observé par plusieurs appareils.

Ce nouvel ovni est étonnant, mais il manque quelques informations pour en savoir vraiment plus. Si sa forme ne donne pas l’impression d’être naturelle ce qui pourrait confirmer son origine extraterrestre. LA NASA ENQUÊTE SUR UN MYSTÉRIEUX OBJET BRILLANT SUR MARS, PREUVE D'UNE VIE INTELLIGENTE EXTRATERRESTRE ?

La NASA dispose actuellement d'un budget de plusieurs milliards de dollars et participe à un grand nombre de missions, y compris de futurs voyages dans l'espace et le changement climatique. Cependant, cela ne l'empêche pas d'être au centre de toutes les théories du complot. Et parmi toutes les accusations, la plus surprenante est celle impliquant l’agence spatiale américaine et une colonie d’esclaves sur Mars. Plus précisément, un agent de la CIA à la retraite a déclaré que des enfants étaient secrètement envoyés sur Mars dans une colonie d'esclavage.

La controverse a atteint une telle ampleur qu'un porte-parole de l'exploration de Mars par la NASA a été obligé de nier de telles accusations, affirmant que sur la planète rouge, il n'y a pas d'humain, il n'y a que des véhicules motorisés. Mais maintenant, c’est la NASA elle-même qui a révélé qu’elle enquêtait sur un mystérieux objet brillant à la surface martienne.

L'objet martien mystérieux

La NASA a découvert un objet étrange et lumineux sur Mars. Le rover Curiosity l'a donc analysé de près. Officiellement appelés "Little Colonsay", les scientifiques ont vu l'objet mystérieux dans une image plus grande et ils ont maintenant décidé de revenir l'étudier.

"Nous allons essayer de mieux voir le" petit Colonsay "", a déclaré la NASA. "L'équipe de planification pense qu'il pourrait s'agir d'un météore parce que c'est brillant. Mais les apparences sont trompeuses et les tests ne le prouveront que par la chimie. Malheureusement, le petit objectif avait été perdu lors de la tentative précédente et avec cette information, Curiosity essaiera à nouveau. "

Les opérateurs utiliseront le ChemCam (complexe Chimie et Caméra), un ensemble d'instruments permettant la détection à distance du mobile Curiosity, afin d'étudier l'objet énigmatique. De plus, non seulement les « théoriciens du complot » sont les seuls à croire que tous ces objets témoignent de la vie sur la planète rouge et que la NASA camoufle. En 2014, le Dr John Brandenburg a présenté une recherche à la réunion annuelle d'automne de l'American Physical Society, qui a affirmé que deux civilisations martiennes ont été tués par d'autres étrangers avec des armes nucléaires.

Les deux anciennes civilisations d'humanoïdes, l'une dans la région appelée Cydonia Mensae et l'autre dans Galaxias Chaos, avaient un niveau technologique similaire à celui des anciens Égyptiens. Deux catastrophes majeures ont toutefois eu lieu : l’impact des astéroïdes sur la civilisation dite des Cydoniens et l’autre dans la civilisation des utopies, qui a déclenché une explosion thermonucléaire due à des causes naturelles. La théorie de Dr. Brandenburg est basée sur le fait que la surface de Mars est recouverte d'une fine couche de substances radioactives telles que l'uranium, le thorium et le potassium radioactif, et que ce motif émane d'un point chaud. Ensuite, une explosion nucléaire aurait pu envoyer les déchets de ces civilisations sur toute la planète.

Nous sommes sûrs que le nouvel objet mystérieux trouvé sur Mars devra parler, à la fois dans la communauté scientifique et dans le complot. Are near-death experiences just hallucinations?

In our never-ending quest to understand what happens to us after we die, humans have long seen the rare phenomenon of near-death experiences as providing some hints. People who’ve had a brush with death often report seeing and experiencing life-altering events on “the other side,” like a bright white light at the end of a long tunnel, or being reunited with lost relatives or beloved pets. But despite the seemingly supernatural nature of these experiences, experts say that science can explain why they happen – and what’s really going on.

What are near-death experiences?

A near-death experience is a profound psychological event with mystical elements. It typically occurs in people close to death, or during situations of intense physical or emotional pain, but may also happen after heart attacks or traumatic brain injuries, or even during meditation and syncope (loss of consciousness due to a fall in blood pressure). They’re surprisingly common, with a third of people who have come close to death reporting having experienced one.

Common characteristics people report are feelings of contentment, psychic detachment from the body (such as out-of-body experiences), rapid movement through a long dark tunnel, and entering a bright light.

Culture and age may also influence the kind of near-death experience people have. For example, many Indians report meeting the Hindu king of the dead, Yamraj, while Americans often claim to have met Jesus. Children typically describe encountering friends and teachers “in the light”.

Most reported near-death experiences are positive, and have even helped in reducing death anxiety, affirming life, and increasing well-being. However, some near-death experiences are negative and include feelings such as lack of control, awareness of nonexistence, hellish imagery, or perceived judgement from a higher being.

Why do near-death experiences happen?

Neuroscientists Olaf Blanke and Sebastian Dieguez have proposed two types of near-death experiences. Type one, which is associated with the brain’s left hemisphere, features an altered sense of time and impressions of flying. Type two, involving the right hemisphere, is characterised by seeing or communicating with spirits, and hearing voices, sounds and music. While it’s unclear why there are different types of near-death experiences, the different interactions between brain regions produce these distinct experiences.

The temporal lobes also play an important role in near-death experiences. This area of the brain is involved with processing sensory information and memory, so abnormal activity in these lobes can produce strange sensations and perceptions.

Despite several theories used to explain near-death experiences, getting to the bottom of what causes them is difficult. Religious people believe near-death experiences provide evidence for life after death – in particular, the separation of the spirit from the body. Whereas scientific explanations for near-death experiences include depersonalisation, which is a sense of being detached from your body. Scientific author Carl Sagan even suggested that the stress of death produces a remembrance of birth, suggesting the “tunnel” people see is a reimagining of the birth canal.

But due to the fanciful nature of these theories, other explanations have emerged. Some researchers claim that endorphins released during stressful events may produce something like near-death experience, particularly by reducing pain and increasing pleasant sensations. Similarly, anaesthetics such as ketamine can simulate near-death experience characteristics, such as out-of-body experiences.

Other theories suggest near-death experiences arise from dimethyltryptamine (DMT), a psychedelic drug that occurs naturally in some plants. Rick Strassman, a professor of psychiatry, observed in a study from 1990 to 1995 that people had near-death and mystical experiences following injection of DMT. According to Strassman, the body has natural DMT released at birth and death. However, there is no conclusive evidence to support this view. Overall, chemical-based theories lack precision and can’t explain the full range of near-death experience features people experience.

Researchers have also explained near-death experiences via cerebral anoxia, a lack of oxygen to the brain. One researcher found air pilots who experienced unconsciousness during rapid acceleration described near-death experience-like features, such as tunnel vision. Lack of oxygen may also trigger temporal lobe seizures which causes hallucinations. These may be similar to a near-death experience.

But the most widespread explanation for near-death experiences is the dying brain hypothesis. This theory proposes that near-death experiences are hallucinations caused by activity in the brain as cells begin to die. As these occur during times of crisis, this would explain the stories survivors recount. The problem with this theory, though plausible, is that it fails to explain the full range of features that may occur during near-death experiences, such as why people have out-of-body experiences.

Currently, there is no definitive explanation for why near-death experiences happen. But ongoing research still strives to understand this enigmatic phenomenon. Whether paranormal or not, near-death experiences are extremely important. They provide meaning, hope, and purpose for many people, while offering an appreciation of the human desire to survive beyond death.

A NASA scientist says intelligent aliens may have already visited Earth - but claims humans would not have noticed due to their 'extremely tiny' size.

Silvano P. Colombano says the extra-terrestrials would have looked hugely different to the carbon-based organisms currently roaming our planet.

He says that 'super intelligent' aliens would posses technology that humans cannot even imagine, and may have capable of interstellar space-travel.

It comes as NASA scans the universe for civilisations as prat of its 'Search for extraterrestrial intelligence' (SETI) programme.

Silvano P. Colombano, who works in NASA's Intelligent Systems Division, believes we could have missed alien life,as it could be very different from the traditional carbon based life humanity is used to. Pictured, a classic 'flying saucer.

Dr Colombano told Califoria's SETI-backed Decoding Alien Intelligence Workshop back in March that scientists need to broaden their idea of what an extra-terrestrial would like like.

'I simply want to point out the fact that the intelligence we might find and that might choose to find us (if it hasn't already) might not be at all be produced by carbon based organisms like us,' his report read.

He added that scientists must 're-visit even our most cherished assumptions', which has implications for everything from an alien's lifespan to its height.  

'The size of the 'explorer' might be that of an extremely tiny super-intelligent entity,' he says.   

He believes scientists are too focused on pursuing signs of modern human technology on other planets.

This could mean missing signals of a civilisation inhabiting a planet far older than Earth, Dr Colombano argues.

Our inability to comprehend how such a planet would look might even mean that we miss any signs of its existence.  

A pair of Australian radio telescopes pointed at the same spot in the sky have revealed new clues on the nature of mysterious signals known as fast radio bursts. The ASKAP managed to detect several fast radio bursts during its observation (artist's impression). However, one expert warned that radio waves could be out of date.

He said: 'Considering further that technological development in our civilisation started only about 10K years ago and has seen the rise of scientific methodologies only in the past 500 years, we can surmise that we might have a real problem in predicting technological evolution even for the next thousand years, let alone 6 Million times that amount!' 

He also warned that fast radio bursts currently being analysed could be out of date and called for 'speculative physics' grounded in solid theories but 'with some willingness to stretch possibilities as to the nature of space-time and energy' and to 'consider the UFO phenomenon worthy of study'.

The space expert also claimed not every UFO sighting can be 'explained or denied'.

Nog onder ons?

Ook de manieren van communicatie waarop we ons altijd al concentreerden zijn volgens Colombano misschien aan herziening toe. Zoals radiogolven, die weleens compleet verouderd zouden kunnen zijn voor aliens. Wat de professor dan weer de bedenking ontlokt dat aliens mogelijk ooit al op onze aarde kwamen, hier even een kijkje namen, en al snel weer weg waren, uit desinteresse. Of... ze zijn nog altijd onder ons, terwijl we niet eens weten hoe met hen te communiceren.

Paul Hellyer, who was a Canadian minister from 1963 to 1967, is now urging world powers to release what he believes to be hidden data on UFOs.

'Much of the media won't touch [the documents]', he said during a keynote speech at the Disclosure Canada Tour at the University of Calgary.

'You just have to keep working away and hope that someday you get a critical mass,' he said, according to a report by CTV.

'[The public] will say, in one way or another, "Mr President or Mr Prime Minister we want the truth and we want it now because it affects our lives."'

Hellyer, 91, first went public with his belief in aliens on Earth in 2005, becoming the first high ranking politician to do so.

He claims that the aliens have 'been visiting our planet for thousands of years' and are unimpressed with how we live.

'We spend too much time fighting each other, we spend too much money on military expenditures and not enough on feeding the poor and looking after the homeless and sick,' he said.

Last year, the former Canadian defence minister declared on Russian TV that aliens are walking among us.

But he said they are refusing to share their advanced technologies until we change our polluting and warring ways.

He told Russia Today's program SophieCo there are 80 different species of extra-terrestrials some of whom 'look just like us and they could walk down the street and you wouldn't know if you walked past one.'

In the bizarre interview, Hellyer made a series of pronouncements about aliens which grew increasingly outlandish and sounded closer to the plot of Star Trek.

'We have a long history of UFOs and of course there has been a lot more activity in the last few decades since we invented the atomic bomb,' he said.

'They are very concerned about that and that we might use it again, because the whole cosmos as a unity, and it affects not just us but other people in the cosmos.

'They are very much afraid that we might be stupid enough to start using atomic weapons again.'

However Hellyer told SophieCo that most of the aliens want to help rather than destroy us.

'I would say that nearly all are benign and benevolent and they do want to help us, there may be one or two species which do not,' he said.

Hellyer believes aliens are responsible for some of our modern technology including the microchip, LED light and Kevlar vest, he said.

He says he has never met an alien, but has seen a UFO near his cabin on Ontario's Lake Muskoka.

Hellyer described several types of aliens including 'Tall Whites' who are working with the U.S. air force in Nevada.-

'They're able to get away with that; they had a couple of their ladies dressed as nuns go into Las Vegas to shop and they weren't detected,' he claimed.

Another group of aliens are called 'Short Greys' who have very slim arms and legs and are about five feet high with large heads.

A third group are called 'Nordic Blondes' and Hellyer said that if you meet one you'd probably say, 'I wonder if she's from Denmark or somewhere.'

Hellyer's claims are likely to fuel conspiracy theorists who often look at Nasa images for evidence of aliens. If you want a definitive answer on the question of whether aliens have visited Earth, would you ask a politician, an astronaut, a philosopher, your neighbor who claims he’s an abductee or a NASA scientist? If you picked that last one but you don’t know any NASA scientists, we bring you Silvano P. Colombano, a computer scientist at NASA Ames Research Center in California who says he believes they’ve already been here … we just didn’t recognize them.

In a new paper entitled “New Assumptions to Guide Seti Research,” Professor Colombano posits that extraterrestrials may not fit our conventional wisdom … or even our unconventional wisdom. Beyond being composed of something other than carbon, he proposes that beings who have the ability to travel long distances to get here may have lifespans far longer than ours, so that the ones who left their planet many light years away are the same ones who landed here. Not only that, the idea that they’re about our size (so we can put the benevolent ones on our bikes and punch out the evil ones) may not hold either.

“Our typical life-spans would no longer be a limitation (although even these could be dealt with multi-generational missions or suspended animation), and the size of the ‘explorer’ might be that of an extremely tiny super-intelligent entity.”

Is Colombano just thinking outside of the space box or does he know something about aliens that we don’t? It sounds more like he knows there’s something there and he wants both the scientific community and the general public to work together to get beyond our current assumptions so that we can see them.

“In the very large amount of “noise” in UFO reporting there may be “signals” however small, that indicate some phenomena that cannot be explained or denied. If we adopt a new set of assumptions about what forms of higher intelligence and technology we might find, some of those phenomena might fit specific hypotheses, and we could start some serious enquiry.”

Getting beyond the “noise” – that sounds like what many in the ufology field have been calling for lately. To accomplish this, Colombano believes the scientific community must accept the possibility of interstellar travel and the public must look beyond the “hoaxes, mistaken perceptions or even psychotic events in UFO phenomena.” Psychotic events? Does he have a certain rock star in mind?

While Colombano’s field is SETI, he recommends that his fellow scientists consider “speculative physics” that “stretch possibilities as to the nature of space-time and energy.” He also wants sociologists to speculate on new societies and how they might communicate with us … not to mention how we might communicate with them.

That all sounds great and it’s highly unusual to be coming from a NASA scientist, but in order to keep from getting lumped into pseudoscience or “psychotic events,” we need a catchy slogan that everyone can latch onto and put on a T-shirt to wear at “talk to the aliens” rallies. Colombano has the perfect candidate:

“Find the signal in the noise.”

Archaeologists have found two new caves near Qumran in the West Bank that they think may hold some Dead Sea Scrolls. The newly found caves, which are called 53b and 53c, are located close to other caves where some scrolls have already been found.

The previously found Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in twelve caves that were near Qumran and included 900 manuscripts. It is thought that a group of people called Essenes lived in Qumran and that they were the ones who wrote a lot of the scrolls. The Essenes ended up leaving the area around 70 A.D. when a revolt began against the Romans.

The first eleven caves were found between the years 1946 and 1956. Those eleven caves held the majority of the scrolls. The twelfth cave, however, was discovered much later in 2017 and only one blank scroll was found inside. They archaeologists did, however, find jars, textiles, string, and rope that were used to store the scrolls. By finding the remains of items used to store them, but not finding the actual Dead Sea Scrolls, it would indicate that they were more than likely stolen at some point.

The two new caves that have been recently discovered are close in proximity to the twelfth cave and they also contain evidence that indicates scrolls were indeed there in the past. Unfortunately, archaeologists have yet to find any remaining scrolls but they still have a lot of investigating to do.

Inside of cave 53b, researchers found several artifacts from humans visiting the cave years earlier, which included a bronze cooking pot and an oil lamp. In a paper written by archaeologists Randall Price of Liberty University in Virginia and Oren Gutfeld of Hebrew University of Jerusalem, they wrote that researchers found “large amounts of pottery representing store jars, flasks, cups and cooking pots, and fragments of woven textiles, braided ropes and string.”

After analyzing the bronze cooking pot, it was determined that it dates back from between 100 B.C. and 15 B.C. which is also the same time that people were living at the archaeological site of Qumran. Also, the oil lamp that was found in the cave looks quite similar to the lamps that were found at Qumran which would indicate that the people who inhabited the site more than likely used the caves as well.

Price told Live Science, “We have not analyzed all of the pottery from this cave, so we do not know if a scroll jar was present.” But since the rope, string, and textiles found in cave 53b are quite similar to the ones previously found in cave 12, it may have also been used to store the scrolls as well.

As for the second newly found cave, called 53c, researchers found a piece of a scroll jar which indicates that scrolls were stored in that cave at one time. They are currently excavating the cave to see if they can find any evidence of hidden scrolls.

And so it arrives: Jeremy Kenyon Lockyer Corbell’s much-anticipated feature documentary about one of the most controversial UFO stories ever told—a story that, along with the infamous Roswell Incident of 1947, has arguably done more than any other to shape the landscape of modern UFO mythology.

In November of 1989, a thirty-year-old scientist by the name of Robert Lazar was interviewed exclusively by the respected investigative reporter George Knapp for the Las Vegas-based KLAS TV station. The topic of the interview was Lazar’s alleged recent employment at a top secret facility in the Nevada desert called S-4, which was located close to another top secret facility called Area 51 (unknown to the public at the time). The story Lazar told was jaw-dropping, and he stands by it—word-for-word—to this day, despite continuous harassment by incredulous journalists, UFO buffs, and, apparently, various government agencies.

For those with an open mind (okay, a very open mind), it is perhaps easier to believe Lazar than one might imagine. He has always come across as absolutely sincere and has always resisted encouragement to embellish his original testimony. I am of the opinion that Lazar has never spoken untruthfully about his recollections of Area 51 and S-4. However, I have also never doubted that the story that he tells is untrue—which is to say that the circumstances and events of Lazar’s story were carefully orchestrated and staged for him specifically as part of a sophisticated and ongoing UFO perception management campaign, which likely has counterintelligence purposes far beyond the UFO subject.

As has been documented by George Knapp and others, there is good reason to believe that Lazar really did work at and/or near Area 51 for a short time in the late 1980s. But it appears he was cherry picked for his job based on his psychological profile and his spotty personal and business history. In other words, it was known and desired that he would blow the whistle when the time came, and that it would be easy to publicly discredit him after he did so, ensuring that his story would not be accepted by all, but by just enough to engrain it into a rapidly expanding subcultural belief system.

Lazar told Knapp how he had been recruited to work at S-4 for just a few weeks in 1988 and 1989. Everything was cloaked in secrecy and the atmosphere at the base was oppressive. Information was shared there strictly on a need-to-know basis and his every move was closely monitored by armed security personnel. He claimed that he was tasked with helping his employers at S-4 to understand the propulsion system of a highly advanced air/space vehicle, which was being stored in one of nine camouflaged hangars at the facility.

When Lazar first set eyes on the craft—which was classic saucer-shaped and which he later dubbed ‘the sport model’—he assumed it was man-made. He had not been a believer in flying saucers. As the days and weeks went by, however, Lazar came to the conclusion that the craft must have been extraterrestrial in origin. Its technology was far too advanced to have been of human design, and, furthermore, its seats were far too small to accommodate human adults. They were child-sized, he said.

While at S-4 on another occasion, Lazar was taken into an office and shown weighty briefing documents, which he was told to study. They described how aliens from Zeta Reticuli—the classic big-eyed Grays—had been interacting with humanity for at least 10,000 years. Literally everything Lazar read in the documents regarding human history, alien biology, and political events supported the disinformative narrative that had been actively sown into the UFO community since the early-1980s by US intelligence operatives in the form the fraudulent MJ-12 documents and by the highly questionable testimony of Mirage Men with names like “Falcon” and “Condor.”

The question is: why was Lazar, who was supposedly employed strictly on a need-to-know basis as a physicist with one very specific technical task, given access to top secret documentation which had literally no bearing on that task? Perhaps the answer is that Lazar was being deliberately seeded with disinformation and was expected to later share it with the public.

The orchestrated nature of Lazar’s experience is also supported by one of his most bizarre recollections of his time at S-4, in which he set eyes on an alien entity working quite literally side-by-side with human scientists. At least, that is what he was meant to believe he saw. Lazar claims that, on the night in question, he was being escorted down a hallway by armed security personnel who had instructed him to keep his eyes forward at all times. With this instruction in mind, as they passed a doorway, naturally Lazar glanced to one side. His peripheral vision detected what he thought in that moment was one of the Gray aliens he had read about in the briefing documents. The small figure was stood between two men in lab coats. The three of them were looking at a computer console, and the “alien” had its back to the door. Lazar’s glimpse was so fleeting that no fine details were distinguishable. He was then pushed further along the corridor by one of the guards who instructed him once again to keep his eyes forward. Lazar himself has always been open to the possibility that this incident was staged specifically for him using a doll or a dummy and has speculated that someone may have been playing mind games with him.

Most of the events described above are featured in Corbell’s documentary in the form of archive news footage of Lazar and in on-camera testimony of the UFO icon as he appears today, working in his lab or at home with his wife. We also get some input from his friends, family, and colleagues, all of whom fully support his story. As the reporter who introduced Area 51 to the world, George Knapp features prominently in Corbell’s film, again both in the form of archive footage and speaking from his home in the present day or as a disembodied voice on Corbell’s speaker-phone. Hollywood legend Micky Rourke is billed as narrating the documentary, but his contributions amount to little more than sporadic, largely unintelligible mumblings about the nature of truth and the universe which threaten seriously to derail Corbell’s narrative whenever it finds time to settle into a groove—which isn’t very often.

From the get go, and throughout, Corbell’s film is mired by an intrusive and over-produced electronic soundbed of pulsating intensity. It’s almost relentless, and it serves only to distract from the story itself, which is more than sufficiently compelling to be presented without whistles and bells.

For those already well-read on the Lazar case, Bob Lazar will offer few surprises, but it is fascinating nonetheless to spend time with the man thirty years on from when he rocked the world. Corbell succeeds in showing us Lazar—the man and the legend—up close and personal, revealing, ironically, a pretty down-to-earth guy who has tried his best to get on with his life as a scientist and business man, as removed as possible from the maddening world of UFOlogy. For better or for worse, he has chosen to be a largely-silent spectator to the formation of his own myth.

The film does present some circumstantial corroborative evidence for Lazar’s claims. One scene sees Corbell presenting Lazar with photographs he has acquired of the high-tech hand-scanners used at Area 51. Lazar had always maintained that these devices were used during his time at S-4, but when he described them in the late-1980s, they sounded like science-fiction. Apparently not. The look on Lazar’s face as he examines the photos is one of obvious familiarity with what he’s seeing, and his sense of vindication is palpable.

One of the most interesting and dramatic scenes see Lazar and his colleagues describing a disturbing raid on his home during the production of Corbell’s film by a parade of government agencies in search of… something (I will avoid spoilers here). On the face of it, these events add some support to the notion that Lazar is of considerable interest to the US national security apparatus—and all that that implies. Yet, frustratingly, Corbell makes little of this in his documentary. By the time the credits roll, this crucial scene is almost forgotten.

Bob Lazar: Area 51 & Flying Saucers makes for entertaining and thought-provoking viewing, but what’s missing is any real sense of the political and UFOlogical climate in which Lazar’s story originally came to light—we get the “what” but we don’t get the “why.” Given the recent revelations of the Pentagon concerning UFOs, which are tied in with the efforts of self-styled Disclosure hero Tom DeLonge, understanding the motivations behind UFO disinformation efforts is today more important than ever, but Corbell’s Lazar story is presented in a cultural and political vacuum, dampening its potential relevance and impact.

On November 11, 2018, a strange sort of wave circumnavigated the globe and registered on sensors more than 11,000 miles away from what was believed to be its source. These waves emanated from the Northeast corner of Madagascar and continued for nearly 20 minutes, ringing slowly and at a low-frequency as far away as Hawaii and New Zealand. The cause of these waves are still being theorized and investigated by scientists, but the strange wave was caught by a Twitter user, with the handle @matarikipax, according to a report from National Geographic. Many seismologists said they had never seen anything quite like it in response to the Twitter user’s find.

So, why were these waves so strange? During most earthquakes, there are fast-moving waves, which cause the initial rumble of the quake. Secondary waves follow, moving from side-to-side, the article states. This particular seismic occurrence, however, seemed to contain mostly the tertiary waves of earthquakes, which are described as slow, lengthy surface waves. Because of its similarity to these, the strange rumbling of the earth was not physically felt and reported by anyone.

These waves were specifically pinpointed nearest to the French island of Mayotte. The island has been experiencing something of an earthquake swarm relating to possible undersea volcanic activity since May. The largest of these events was reported to be around 5.8 on the Richter Scale. These swarms have slowed a bit in recent years, and the report in National Geographic said none of the events have been similar to the one recorded on Nov. 11.

To get to the bottom of the incident, the French Geological Survey (BRGM) is investigating possible new volcanic activity on the seafloor near the island. Mayotte was created by volcanism, but such activity has not been ongoing in that area for more than 4,000 years, geologists believe. The earlier earthquake swarms, though, could indicate a new magma pocket is opening in the earth’s crust beneath the waves just offshore of the island.

When magma pushes toward the top of the earth, new crust is formed by its cooling. Islands such as Mayotte and the Hawaiian Islands are formed by new crust being created from magma being squeezed to the surface by plate tectonics. This occurs constantly around the world, and it appears recent earthquake swarms and this recent mysterious wave were created by these processes.

During those processes, rare occurrences, known colloquially by geologists as “slow earthquakes” can occur. Slow earthquakes release the same amount of pressure as normal earthquakes, but over a longer period of time. This could explain why the waves were not felt by anyone, but registered on sensors across the globe for at least 20 minutes. If this were proven to be such an instance, this release would have been equivalent to about a five on the Richter Scale. Similar quakes occurred during the collapse of a magma chamber in 2009 at the Nyiragongo Volcano in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Giant Angelic UFO Caught On NASA Images Heading To Our Sun, Dec 2, 2018, UFO Sighting News.

This angelic like UFO has been recorded a dozen times over the last 5 years. Often heading into the sun or out of the sun, probably harvesting an energy source that us humans have yet to discover. The UFO has a lot of right angles to it. I only added a bit of contrast and the edges showed up clear. I'm a little bewildered at how NASA could keep such giant ships a secret from the public for so long? I mean its huge! Probably tens of miles across and travels so fast that the cameras only caught it in a single photo, then it was gone a few minutes later. When ever we see this angelic UFO it usually has a few round smaller UFOs following its tail just as it does today.

Ancient Black Structures And Sphinx Found On Asteroid Bennu In NASA Photos, Dec 2018, UFO Sighting News.

As I have said before, I have found alien structures on every meteor, asteroid, moon and planet in our solar system using NASA, ESA and JAXA photos of the surfaces of those objects. 

 

I found many non reflective black structures on asteroid Bennu today. The most significant of all is a sphinx black structure with a long tail, but its curled in an oval like a dog...can you see the huge face of the sphinx in the photo below? Well, thats a whole building. Thats how they make them. 

 

There are three main kinds of structures...the other types are rare but I have found many rares. 

The three main types are: 

1. Non reflective black structures...they are the biggest and most common. 

2. White ceramic-like structures...they are smaller, not usually close to the black structures and so reflective that getting a focused photo of them is very hard to find. 

3. Small silver metallic structures. Sometimes they are found alone, but often they would be around the big black structures connected with metallic tubes to the black structures. These are only 1-3% the size of the black structures. 

 

Rare structures I have found: 

1: Glass pyramid structure...impossible to take a good screenshot of it.

2. Actually found a eight sided very flat 24k gold structure in high detail. Only found one...but computer got viruses few days later and lost entire computer. Black screen virus. 

3. Emerald dome...only found one, but its huge! 

 

So you see, they are everywhere in our solar system. They were here billions of years before us, and will be here billions of years after us.

GAAT DE AARDE RICHTING POLESHIFT ? ( VIDEO )

De mysterieuze seismische golf van vorige week heeft heel wat mensen de nodige schrik bezorgd en een echte oorzaak is er formeel nog steeds niet. 

Aangezien men toch wat moet zeggen is officieel de keuze gevallen op een onderwater vulkaan als oorzaak voor dit vreemde fenomeen, maar uiteraard is het wat anders.

Hoe vaak komt het voor dat de complete aarde wordt opgeschrikt door seismische trillingen, terwijl er geen duidelijke/bekende oorzaak aan ten grondslag ligt.

Even terug naar eerdere berichten: 

Meetstations van bevingen in de Indische Oceaan pikten drie weken geleden een signaal op van seismische golven die vanaf Madagaskar tot aan Chili, Nieuw-Zeeland en Canada reikten. Wetenschappers gissen naar de oorzaak van de seismische activiteit, meldt The Daily Mail. Het centrum van de mysterieuze activiteit ligt voor de kust van het eiland Mayotte, naast Madagaskar.

Om duidelijk te zien hoe ver die seismische golf ging, hierna nog eens een plaatje.

Zoals gezegd, probeert men dit vast te pinnen op een onderwatervulkaan, maar hoe bijzonder dit is, blijkt wel uit de woorden van een wetenschapper van de Universiteit van Plymouth in Engeland, Jamie Gurney, die zegt geen flauw idee te hebben of zoiets ooit eerder is voor gekomen. Kortom, een unieke gebeurtenis en geen verklaring.

De man die zich bezighoudt met de komende mini ijstijd, Adept 2030, denkt dat dit alles een gevolg is van de sterk verminderde activiteit van de zon. Er zijn geen zonnevlekken op dit moment en de komende zonnecyclus belooft een ultra lage te worden, met nauwelijks zonneactiviteit en een heel koude periode die gaat komen. Het is inderdaad een wetenschappelijk feit dat bij een hele lage zonnecyclus, de kans op aardbevingen en vulkaanuitbarstingen groter is dan normaal. 

De bekende Youtugebruiker Mr. MBB333, houdt zich ook met dit vraagstuk bezig en ontdekt dat er in de laatste week van november uitzonderlijk veel aardbevingen zijn die zich voordoen op een diepte van tien kilometer, waaronder de recente aardbeving in Alaska die de grond letterlijk uit elkaar deed scheuren.

Afgezien van de aardbeving in Alaska vonder er in de laatste week van november wereldwijd aardbevingen plaats, bijna allemaal op een diepte van 6,2 mijl oftewel 10 kilometer.

Mr. MBB333 denkt dan ook dat de vreemde seismische golf haar oorsprong vindt op een diepte van 10 kilometer.

Een lezer die de bijbel leest, denkt dat het allemaal nog veel erger gaat worden:

Als we Jesaja hfdstk 24 lezen, lijkt het alsof God een vreemde planeet zal gebruiken in de laatste uren, die in een baan in de buurt van de aarde terechtkomt en de aarde aan het wankelen brengt:

HerzSt (Jesaja 24: 17-20) 17 Angst, valkuil en strik over u, bewoners van de aarde! 18 En het zal gebeuren dat wie vlucht voor het beangstigende geluid, neervallen zal in de valkuil; en wie opklimt uit het midden van de valkuil, gevangen zal worden in de strik. Want de sluizen in de hoogte worden geopend en de fundamenten van de aarde zullen beven. 19 Scheuren, openscheuren zal de aarde, splijten, opensplijten zal de aarde, vervaarlijk wankelen zal de aarde, 20 hevig waggelen zal de aarde, als een dronkaard. Zij zal heen en weer slingeren als een nachthutje, haar overtreding zal zwaar op haar drukken, zij zal neervallen en niet meer opstaan.

Terug naar Mr. MBB333 die constateert dat er in de honderden naschokken die zich voor deden in Alaska een bepaald patroon te ontdekken is. De naschokken gaan als het ware in een rechte lijn richting noordpool. Er deden zich maar liefst 580 fikse naschokken voor die allemaal het patroon volgden.

Hij ontdekt nog iets bijzonders naar aanleiding van de aardbeving in Alaska. De energie van een dergelijke beving verspreidt zich vanuit het epicentrum van de aardbeving verder over de wereld en de seismografen op diverse locaties pikken dan ook de energie van de beving op. Echter, het vreemde is dat de seismografen op Antarctica een veel hogere energie laten zien dan de seismografen in bijvoorbeeld Oregon, wat in feite net om de hoek ligt, vergeleken met Antarctica. Misschien is het gerelateerd aan de vreemde energiebron op Antarctica waarover wij eerder schreven.

Aangezien Mr. MBB333 ook niet weet waarom de seismografen op de zuidpool zover uitslaan bij een aardbeving aan de andere kant, bij Alaska, speculeert hij dat dit mogelijk wel het begin zou kunnen zijn van de pole shift.

TEST POETIN GEHEIME RUIMTEWAPENS? ( VIDEO )

Langzaam maar zeker wordt het terrein waar volgende oorlogen zullen worden uitgevochten verplaatst naar de ruimte. 

In het geheim worden er allerlei supersonische ruimtewapens ontwikkeld en misschien zijn er per ongeluk beelden opgedoken van een test met dergelijke wapens.

De vuurbol werd waargenomen door talloze automobilisten via hun dashcam. Eén van de redenen dat er wordt gespeculeerd over de vuurbol en dat het misschien geheime supersonische (ruimte)wapens zijn, is omdat de vuurbol werd waargenomen boven Akademgorodok. Deze stad is een soort wetenschappelijk ontwikkelingscentrum met diverse instituten die bekendstaan onder de naam "Poetins geheime wapen".

Volgens de officiële berichten is het een meteoriet, maar er doen ook andere geruchten de ronde en dat is dat we hier getuige zijn van het testen van geheime Russische ruimtewapens.

Tijdens nader onderzoek werden er ook geen restanten, van wat dan ook, aangetroffen op de grond en uiteraard zijn er ook de nodige mensen die denken dat het hier een ufo betreft.

In augustus dit jaar schreven wij het volgende over Russische ruimtewapens: 

Daarnaast vindt er nu nog een interessante ontwikkeling plaats en dat is dat Amerika nu ook begint met het demoniseren van Rusland in de ruimte. Zo komt er via de BBC een bericht naar buiten over een eind vorig jaar gelanceerde Russische raket die zich heel vreemd en hoogst verdacht zou hebben gedragen. Tijdens een persconferentie van het Amerikaanse Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken in Zwitserland op 14 augustus jongstleden werd dit bekendgemaakt. Omdat deze satelliet zich klaarblijkelijk anders gedraagt dan normaal gesproken het geval is, zeiden de Amerikanen dat ze vermoeden hier te maken te hebben met een nieuw wapen. Rusland reageerde onmiddellijk fel door te zeggen dat dit alles ongefundeerd is en bovendien een erg lasterlijke beschuldiging.

Ongeveer tegelijkertijd met de Russische vuurbol valt er iets vergelijkbaars te zien in Hongarije:

Ook daar zien we een lang spoor in de lucht, maar ook duidelijk een soort object aan het uiteinde van dat spoor. Het lijkt meer op een raket dan op een meteoriet.

Voor zover ons bekend is er tot op dit moment ook voor dat object geen andere verklaring dan: een meteoriet.

Als Poetin inderdaad bezig is met het testen van ruimtewapens boven Siberië, dan lijkt het niet echt waarschijnlijk dat hij dit ook boven Hongarije zou doen. Dus, vooralsnog meer vragen dan antwoorden voor wat betreft de vreemde vuurbollen.

Eight limestone coffins were discovered in the area of King Amenemhat II’s pyramid that is located in the Dahshur royal necropolis which is 25 miles south of Cairo, Egypt. While it’s not entirely clear exactly when and how long Amenemhat II ruled Egypt, it is believed that his reign lasted for around 30 years around 1900 B.C.

Several other high-ranking officials and courtiers are buried in the necropolis. This area is also the location of some of the earliest pyramids on Earth, which includes the Red Pyramid and the Sneferu’s Bent Pyramid.

According to the Egyptian archaeological mission’s manager and Head of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Mostafa Waziry, the mission began their work in August of 2018. The mummies were inside of limestone coffins and were wrapped in a layer of colorful painted cardboard in the shape of a human. Waziry said that three of the eight mummies were in good condition and that they were from the late period of 664 to 332 B.C.

Waziry also mentioned that the coffins were transported to a restoration warehouse and that the Ministry of Antiquities would show photographs of the sarcophagus at a local museum.

The Minister of Antiquities, Khaled el-Anany, said that another recent discovery happened on November 24^th when Mut Temple’s Tomb was found. An archaeological mission that’s connected to the French University of Strasbourg discovered the sarcophagus in the same general area as tomb TT33 which is located in the West Bank of Luxor.

The sarcophagus, which is from the 18^th dynasty, contains a mummy that is wrapped in linen. After researchers examined the mummy for the first time, it was determined that it was re-wrapped in linen during the late period which would explain why it was in such good condition.

Another mysterious discovery was found in the city of Alexandria when experts found an ancient “cursed” black granite sarcophagus. Inside of the huge coffin were the remains of three skeletons along with gold sheets.

Creating a UFO Abduction Photo on a Tabletop

I love the theme of science fiction, so I always have these ideas about flying UFOs and houses in the middle of nowhere that aliens show an interest in as they try to take over a new planet.

In turning my ideas into photos, I always try using new toys and scale models while mixing photography with Photoshop.

I worked on this UFO house abduction photo for about two months. I like the vintage look of things like the car and the house. I had bought a bigger house, but it was way too big for the project. I then contacted a company that cut wood to make a small house using my design, but it was hard to get it together because the size I asked for was too small.

Fortunately, in the end, I was able to get it together.

I used a $2 LED light strip for the spaceship. To create the smoke, I used cigarettes — I don’t smoke, so this was hard for me.

For the sand, I used hummus, as real sand would have looked too big on camera given the scale.

I used one flash head to make the light that comes out from the UFO/Spaceship, and there was another small LED light to give overall light to the scene.

Nasa scientist admits there may be some UFO sightings that cannot be ‘explained or denied’

A Nasa scientist has slammed fellow researchers for ‘ignoring the relevance’ of UFOs in a white paper which suggests it may not be possible to explain or deny every sighting of mysterious objects in the sky.

In a piece of research produced earlier this year, S. P. Colombano from the Nasa Ames Research Center called for an investigation into UFOs and said that some of the sightings could deserve to be taken seriously rather than dismissed out of hand.

He insisted that our species needed to be more ‘aggressive’ in its search for extraterrestrial intelligence and try to think about how alien technology might develop over millions of years.

‘In the very large amount of “noise” in UFO reporting there may be “signals” however small, that indicate some phenomena that cannot be explained or denied,’ the scientist wrote.

Although Colombano stressed that ‘we have not been, and are not being visited’ by aliens, he went on to say that we simply may not be able to grasp the truth about extraterrestrial civilisations at our relatively primitive stage of technological development.

He said that humanity needs to abandon its preconceptions about the nature of extraterrestrial beings – which may not be little green men but tiny, hyper-intelligent robots.

Colombano also claimed fellow researchers often avoid studying UFOs because they believe interstellar travel is impossible and fear most sightings are driven by ‘hoaxes, mistaken perceptions or even psychotic events’.

‘If we adopt a new set of assumptions about what forms of higher intelligence and technology we might find, some of those phenomena might fit specific hypotheses, and we could start some serious enquiry,’ he wrote.

‘The intelligence we might find and that might choose to find us (if it hasn’t already) might not be at all be produced by carbon-based organisms like us,’ he continued.

‘How might that change the above assumptions about interstellar travel?

‘Our typical life-spans would no longer be a limitation (although even these could be dealt with multi-generational missions or suspended animation), and the size of the “explorer” might be that of an extremely tiny super-intelligent entity.’

Does Nasa need to change its idea about the nature of alien life in order to discover extraterrestrial civilisations?

The Nasa researcher added: ‘Our form of life and intelligence, may just be a tiny first step in a continuing evolution that may well produce forms of intelligence that are far superior to ours and no longer based on carbon “machinery”.

µ‘After a mere 50 years of computer evolution we are already talking about “super-intelligence” and we are quickly becoming symbiotic with computer power.’

His paper suggests the human scientists who are currently scanning deep space for radio waves could be wasting their time, because super smart aliens may not use this communication medium.

Even if they did, an advanced civilisation is likely to have figured out a way of packing so much information into the airwaves that we would be unable to decipher their messages.

Messenger feature ‘I suspect that, even if the radio medium continues to be used, the packing of information inside it would be so much greater that we would not be able to recognize any “structure” and would not be able to distinguish it from noise,’ he added.

The Nasa researcher said scientists should broaden their investigation into alien life by considering how technology might evolve over millions of years and what sort of society extraterrestrials would form.

‘We need to become more flexible in our assumptions,’ he urged.

‘The reason is that, while it is still reasonable and conservative to assume that life is most likely to have originated in conditions similar to ours, the vast time differences in potential evolutions render the likelihood of “matching” technologies very slim.’

If Earth's orbit is so crowded, why don't we see space junk in photos of the Earth?

No, it’s not some massive conspiracy, and yes, the space above our planet is getting increasingly and worryingly crowded with satellites and space junk. It’s just that humans and the things we build are tiny compared to the vastness of our planet. There are about 4,256 human-made satellites orbiting the Earth, of which about 1,149 are still working. Most of these are fairly small, ranging from tiny CubeSats that are only four inches on each side to communications satellites that can be over 100 feet long.

That’s still tiny when you consider that the Earth is 7,917.5 miles across.

Even our space station is puny when compared to our planet. Measuring 357 feet end-to-end, the International Space Station (ISS) is by far the largest human-made object orbiting the Earth. Even that isn’t large enough to register on Earth-observing instruments such as the DSCOVR satellite's EPIC camera, which takes absolutely gorgeous pictures of the Earth from a million miles away.

Jay Herman, the lead scientist of EPIC, says that the smallest objects EPIC's camera can make out are about eight to 10 kilometers wide. At that range, the ISS wouldn’t even register as a blip in an image of the Earth.

Even satellites with closer vantage points and higher resolutions are out of luck. NASA's Terra and Aqua satellites carry the MODIS (or Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) instrument and operate only about 440 miles above the Earth’s surface.

NASA under pressure: More than just one asteroid threatens humanity

A team from Spain's largest university, Complutense Madrid, warns of the threat of numerous asteroids that could, at worst, wipe out entire states.

The earth is thus threatened by far more than just one asteroid, which could strike here from summer 2023. But it gets even worse: The team from Spain fears that there is nothing more we can do when a deadly asteroid approaches Earth. Often the astronomical small bodies are sighted too late.

The researchers discussed the latest influence of an object with a width of 2.7 to 3.6 meters called 2018 LA, which hit Earth only a few hours after its discovery. At 38,000 kilometers per hour, it penetrated our atmosphere and made a huge fireball appear in the sky over Botswana in Africa.

"This was a much smaller object than the ones we're supposed to find and warn," said Lindley Johnson, NASA's Planetary Defense Officer at the time.

In their new article, the Spanish researchers warned that so far only "three natural objects were discovered before they collided with Earth". In addition, according to the team, there are almost 15,000 asteroids near Earth, about 25 meters wide.

More than 8000 asteroids shall be over 140 meters wide!

A mega asteroid could hit the earth from summer 2023

NASA is under pressure. According to some astronomers, the US Federal Space Agency should find a way to destroy the dangerous space rocks before they impact.

If we were hit by a small object, it would cause relatively minor but still visible damage - and possibly even a small number of deaths.

To date, astronomers have discovered more than 8,000 near-Earth asteroids, at least 140 meters wide, large enough to wipe out an entire U.S. state.

If Spanish scientists are right and such a large asteroid goes undetected, it could be a death sentence for millions.

It remains to be hoped that such a scenario will never occur or that the technology will develop so well that the possible impact will be prevented in time.

Recent Mass UFO Sighting from Multiple Angles!

Every day, it seems there are more and more UFO sightings. While many of these could possibly be CGI, it becomes a lot less likely when mass UFO sightings occur from multiple angles.

In the following video, a mass UFO sighting occurs around the 16:50 marker:


In this sighting that occurred on September 26, 2018 in Bogota, Columbia, SIX different angles were captured from various witnesses. This is one of the distinguishing earmarks of credibility when it comes to seeing UFO videos in crowded areas. In the age of cell phones, where just about everybody owns one, an impressive UFO sighting in a populated area should be captured on at least two or three cell phones from different angles.

The video clearly shows a UFO with intermittent blinking lights that change colors.

Another impressive video is shown toward the end of this video where four large UFOs appear to be hovering relatively low to the ground.

This sighting occurred in Rosarito, California on October 28, 2018.


I have the ATN NVG7-3 Gen 3 Night Vision Goggle where in the past month, I saw the 2nd largest UFO that I’ve ever seen off the coast of the Gulf of Mexico by Siesta Key, Florida. It was much larger than any of the brightest stars in the sky and about 1/4 the size of the moon, heading southwest.

The largest I’ve ever seen with my goggles was two years ago, coming off the Gulf Of Mexico at Siesta Key, Florida and heading inland. This was the first cigar-shaped UFO I’ve ever seen with my night vision goggles. As soon as I locked in on it, it disappeared.

Numerous times, I’ve seen UFOs flying in formation and/or flying near one another. It’s becoming more of a common experience for many people, with or without night vision goggles.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see more and more mass UFO sightings from various camera angles in the next few months and years as it’s become evident that our galactic friends and neighbors are awaiting contact.

Perhaps, these are the reasons why many of us are hearing high pitched frequencies that are not associated with tinnitus or a Vitamin D deficiency?

NASA Arrives at Bennu Today, But Exactly Where Is That Asteroid?

REx arriving at Bennu Image: NASABut where is that asteroid and its visiting spacecraft, which is now two years into its journey? Although it's easy to assume that an asteroid mission would target the asteroid belt, Bennu isn't tucked in this rocky region between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter.

Instead, Bennu's orbit waltzes between those of Earth and of Mars, averaging around 100 million miles (160 million kilometers) away from the sun. That makes it a near-Earth asteroid, like the one Japan's Hayabusa-2 mission is currently studying.

Cosmic Airburst May Have Wiped Out Part of the Middle East 3,700 Years Ago

The only naturally occurring event capable of causing such an unusual pattern of destruction, Silvia said, is a cosmic airburst — something that has occurred occasionally throughout Earth's history, such as the explosion in 1908 at Tunguska in Siberia.

Also, archaeological excavations and surveys at other towns within the impacted area suggest a sudden wipeout of life around 3,700 years ago, Silvia said. So far, no craters have been found nearby, and it's unclear whether the culprit was a meteor or comet that exploded above the ground.

The fact that only 200 square miles of land was destroyed indicates that the airburst occurred at a low altitude, possibly not more than 3,280 feet (1 km) above the ground said Silvia. In comparison, the Tunguska airburst heavily damaged 830 square miles, or 2,150 square kilometersof land.

The team's results are preliminary and research is ongoing, Silvia emphasized. The team of scientists includes members from Trinity Southwest University, Northern Arizona University, DePaul University, Elizabeth City State University, New Mexico Tech and the Comet Research Group.

US Coast Guard Discloses Unexplained Disappearances of Submarines After UFO Activity (Video)

There are many strange facts surrounding a number of missing submarines. Joseph was on duty on an Ocean Station patrol on the Coast Guard Cutter Mellon.

It was during this patrol that they had a number of unique UFO sightings that included radar and visual verification by a number of witnesses.

Three objects passed over the ship traveling at 3500mph having approached the ship from the direction of where the sub was lost. Flying time of note from OSV to that site at that speed recorded and verified was approximately 10 minutes.

It is highly possible that the UFO phenomenon, and what could have been a very dangerous “rogue” operation gone array, possibly leading to what could have been one of the most significant event.

Even thought this may only be anecdotal data it may help penetrate the veil of secrecy and mystery surrounding the Submarines.

Wat is er bijzonder aan asteroïde Bennu?

Bennu heeft een diameter van ongeveer 490 meter en geldt als een gevaarlijke (bekende) asteroïde. Wetenschappers achten het immers mogelijk dat het ding in de 22ste eeuw met ons zou botsen. De asteroïde zal rakelings langs de aarde scheren in 2135, en komt nog dichter bij in 2175 en 2195. 

Al is de kans op een botsing slechts 1 op de 2.700, de impact ervan zou ongeveer 80.000 keer krachtiger zijn dan de atoombom op Hiroshima, aan het einde van de Tweede Wereldoorlog.

Belangrijker op dit moment is dat de asteroïde mogelijk meer informatie kan bieden over de “bouwblokken” van het zonnestelsel. Wetenschappers geloven immers dat Bennu bestaat uit de “restjes” die overbleven na de geboorte van ons zonnestelsel. De samenstelling van de asteroïde zou de voorbije 4,5 miljard jaar grotendeels onveranderd zijn gebleven. 

Wat is het doel van de missie?

De sonde zal ongeveer twee jaar rond het hemellichaam blijven. Ze zal met een robotarm enkele kleine stalen vergaren van het oppervlak, om die dan naar onze planeet te brengen. De “landing” om de stalen te verzamelen, zal niet langer dan vijf seconden duren, en kan indien nodig drie keer herhaald worden. In totaal kan OSIRIS-REx ruim twee kilo stof meenemen. Met de verzamelde monsters wil NASA meer ontdekken over hoe het zonnestelsel is ontstaan. 

OSIRIS-REx moet ook de impact bestuderen die de zon heeft op de baan van asteroïden. Bennu drijft elk jaar namelijk een beetje meer richting de zon, en dat fenomeen zou ook kunnen verklaren waarom de asteroïde in de toekomst in de buurt van de aarde komt. 

Wat gebeurt er vandaag?

OSIRIS-REx zal rond 18 uur aankomen in de omgeving van de asteroïde. Een landing is nog niet voor vandaag. Het ruimtetuig zal eerst bijna een heel jaar rond de asteroïde cirkelen om een geschikte landingsplaats te selecteren. Die locatie op het oppervlak moet veilig zijn én een garantie bieden voor interessante bodemstalen. 

In september 2021 vertrekt OSIRIS-REx met de stalen weer terug naar de aarde. De sonde komt naar verwachting in 2023 weer aan.

Tweede kans voor Sojoez-raket: bemande lancering levert 3 nieuwe astronauten af bij ISS - HLN.be

De Sojoez-raket vertrok zoals gepland om 12.31 uur Belgische tijd met als nuttige lading de Sojoez MS-11. Die capsule moet de Rus Oleg Kononenko, de Amerikaanse Anne McClain en de Canadees David Saint-Jacques naar het ISS brengen. Als alles loopt zoals gepland, arriveren de astronauten omstreeks 18.36 uur Belgische tijd al in het ISS.

Het welkomstcomité bestaat uit de Duitse gezagvoerder Alexander Gerst, de Rus Sergej Prokopjev en de Amerikaanse Serena Aunon-Chancellor. Zij keren in principe op 13 december terug naar de begane grond. De nieuwkomers zullen 194 dagen in de ruimte blijven.

Het is de eerste bemande lancering sinds het op 11 oktober misging. Er deed zich toen een mankement voor bij het afwerpen van de eerste trap. De twee ruimtevaarders, Nick Hague en Alexey Ovchinin, waren door een veiligheidssysteem wel in staat om ongedeerd terug naar de aarde te keren.

Which came first … the massive 7.0 earthquake which recently struck Anchorage, the unusual planetary alignment or the earthquake predictor taking credit for predicting it and warning of more convergence-created quakes?

“This is the second largest earthquake we’ve had since 1964, which was a very significant earthquake.”

It’s hard to tell so let’s start with the earthquake. On November 30th, a 7.0 earthquake hit Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city with a population of 300,000. As Anchorage Mayor Ethan Berkowitz recounts, its intensity was second only to the 1964 magnitude-9.2 quake which was the most powerful in recorded U.S. history. The November 30th tremor damaged road, buildings and infrastructure and shut down power in many areas, but no deaths or serious injuries were reported. Officials remain on the alert because hundreds of aftershocks, one a big 5.2 magnitude, have been occurring ever since.

Is the big one coming?

The quake was preceded by what seismologists described as a mysterious, low frequency global seismic wave on November 11th … and by what an earthquake predictor described as a potentially disastrous alignment of Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars and Jupiter. The seismic wave is still unexplained and the planetary alignment won’t be at its apocalyptic peak until December 21, 2018, but that hasn’t stopped many from linking them to Frank Hoogerbeets, the founder of Ditrianum, a non-profit organization in the Netherlands which focuses relating seismic activity to planetary geometry using Hoogerbeets’ Solar System Geometry Index (SSGI) to predict possible earthquakes.

“Forecast — updated 30 November 2018, 20:51 UTC
Seismic unrest is expected to continue in the coming days, possibly peaking high 6 to 7 magnitude. Throughout the week doesn’t look much better. Especially from the 7th to the 10th may be highly critical with the potential of a magnitude 8+ earthquake.”

That forecast was posted on the Ditrianum website on the same day as the Anchorage earthquake. Coincidence? The current planetary alignment has actually been occurring in the western sky of the U.S. since mid-October and will continue into 2019. That’s a pretty wide timespan that would have plenty of earthquakes anyway. Can the big ones … or any of them … really be linked to forces on Earth caused by this alignment? Let’s take a look at what astronomer Phil Platt said in February 2017, the last time Hoogerbeets made a similar prediction.

“Sigh. This again? First, there is simply no way an alignment of planets can cause an earthquake on Earth. It’s literally impossible. I’ve done the math on this before; the maximum combined gravity of all the planets under ideal conditions is still far less than the gravitational influence of the moon on the Earth, and the moon at very best has an extremely weak influence on earthquakes.”

Not even this alignment would do it.

Is Hoogerbeets hooking himself to the Alaska quake to further his Solar System Geometry Index theory? Will Santa be knocked from the sky on December 25th by a force that shakes Christmas trees around the world? Wouldn’t that be a great holiday movie idea?

The best mysteries are always the biggest mysteries, and it doesn’t get much bigger than this one. Earlier this month, a strange, unexplained seismic event literally shook the planet, and scientists are still at a loss to explain what it was. The event was strong enough to be felt around the world and is unlike anything seismologists have previously detected.

“I don’t think I’ve seen anything like it.”

That’s how Columbia University seismologist Göran Ekström described the anomaly – although he added that “it doesn’t mean that, in the end, the cause of them is that exotic.” Yeah, yet. Until you have a definitive explanation, all explanations are possible, even if improbable.

The epicenter of this mysterious seismic disturbance appears to be near the small archipelago of Mayotte in the Indian ocean between Madagascar and Mozambique. Scientists have been studying other abnormal seismic activity in that area in the form of hundreds of small, frequent cluster earthquakes, but this recent anomaly is unlike any others they’ve seen yet. The event consisted of a twenty-minute pulse of low-frequency seismic waves occurring around every 17 seconds, so low and slow that they would have been undetectable by humans. 

So far, scientists believe the low-frequency wave could have been caused by a magma reservoir emptying somewhere underground near the epicenter, but that’s only a theory until more data can be gathered. If that’s the case, this event would be some type of hybrid tectonic and volcanic phenomenon – still pretty rare and unusual. “There are a lot things we don’t know,” says French Geological Survey research engineer Nicolas Taillefer. “It’s something quite new in the signals on our stations.”

If there’s one thing humans aren’t prepared for, it’s new curveballs thrown at us by the angry Earth.

Of course, it could have been something else. The old ones awakening from the slumber in their house at R’lyeh? Whatever gargantuan creature that caused The Bloop finally rising from the depths? Secret underwater nuclear weapon tests? Are any of those any more terrifying than unknown tectonic activity literally shaking the whole planet?

When the Big One hits, our planet will never be the same. For humans, anyway. The Bloop will inherit the Earth. All hail Bloop.

Throughout the world there have at times been found mysterious remains that have been left where they lie for hundreds or thousands of years, and which serve to baffle and confuse all who look upon them, leaving few clues as to their fates or why they are there where they are. These might be within tombs locked away underground, mummies scattered about deserts, within jungles or atop the highest mountains, and they always leave mysteries swirling about them. Some of the oddest such discoveries have been made underwater, and here down in the depths below the waves are those who have sunk here along with whatever secrets they carried in life.

One of the stranger discoveries of a mysterious watery grave comes from Lake Okeechobee, in the U.S. state of Florida. Covering 730 square miles and sprawling across five counties it is the second largest freshwater lake completely within the United States, and even its name comes form the Native Hitchiti words oki, meaning “water,” and chobi, meaning “big.” In modern days it is known for its splendid scenery and outdoor recreation such as fishing, but beneath its veneer of beauty lies a darker side. It was long hidden away within the Florida interior, ensconced within thick jungle and steeped in native lore and legend, and the lake remained completely uncharted and unexplored by outsiders until the 1880s, when the area began to be developed and settled by the whites. In around 1910, these pioneers to this land of thick cypress stands, swamp, reeds, and forest began to bring back spooky stories from the muddy shores of the lake. Fishermen in the area told of bringing up human skulls instead of fish, and local folklorist Charlie Carlson explained of this, “Several old catfishermen told of `catchin’ human skulls’ in their nets. One early settler claimed that there were so many skulls in the shallows that, `During low water it looked like a pumpkin patch.’”

These spooky tales escalated when a surveyor who was looking to clear land at a place on the lake called Glassy Island claimed to have unearthed an estimated 50 skeletons buried in shallow graves within the sand. In 1918 there was also the gruesome discovery of hundreds of human skeletons lodged in the silt along the north sides of Ritta and Kreamer Islands during a period of low water. In 1953 a fisherman named Willis Crosby stumbled across nearly a dozen human skulls staring back at him through the murky water, and he would say of his grim discovery, “There were a bunch of other bones scattered all over the bottom, I guess they were human. Everybody said they were Indian bones, it was pretty much common sight when the water was down.”

Lake Okeechobee

There were many other accounts of finding human bones and skulls littering the bottom of the lake, often made visible when water levels dropped, which was not really good for the various tourist businesses and real-estate brokers who flocked to the area looking to develop it into some sort of resort. Such macabre findings have gone on right up to the present, when during a drought in 2006 and 2007 there were revealed large portions of the muddy bottom, which were found to contain innumerable Native artifacts and thousands of human skeletons. Interestingly, there have been claims that some of the enigmatic remains found at the time were of individuals far taller than any Natives of the area, with some skeletons supposedly found of those who would have measured over 7 feet in height.

Whether the stories of giant skeletons found here are true or not, there have definitely been a lot of bones found at the lake, and the really strange thing is that no one really knows where all of these skulls and bones came from. It has been suggested that they were of the victims of massive hurricanes that hit the area in 1926 and 1928, which killed thousands of people, but most of these were gathered and buried on the mainland, and it would still not explain all of the remains found here before those dates, and there is also the fact that in the early 1900s this was a very sparsely populated region, meaning that it seems strange there should be such large amounts of human remains all in one place if this was due to any sort of disaster.

Another theory is that these remains come from some massive battle that took place here, namely the 1837 Battle of Okeechobee, which was fought during the Seminole War, but this is estimated to have resulted in only a few dozen deaths, and so could not explain the finding of hundreds of mysterious skeletons or more down in the muck of the lake. Other theories are that they are a mass burial site for Natives of the area or that they are evidence of some lost tribe, but there is no evidence that points to this, as the remains are spread over such a large area and there are absolutely no other artifacts found near the bodies, just those bones. Additionally, they don’t seem to be the doing of conquistadors, and the folklorist, Carlson, has said of the mysterious bones, “Historians have found no connection to the early Spanish, and some believe the bones may be more than a thousand years old.”

Another idea is based on a persistent piece of local lore that says that in 1841 several hundred Seminole warriors chose to commit mass suicide at the lake rather than be captured by the enemy, slitting their own throats and flinging themselves into the murky waters, but there is very little in the historical record to show that this ever really happened. There is also the lore that says that the Seminole put a curse upon the lake, and that this curse is actually responsible for a lot of deaths and accidents here, such as the tragic airline crashes of Tristar Flight 401 in 1972 and ValuJet Flight 592 in 1996, both of which plummeted into the area costing hundreds of lives. For now no one knows, and the mysterious skeletons of Lake Okeechobee remain a mystery.

Equally as spooky is a trove of mysterious human remains found submerged in a sinkhole in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, which also just happens to be supposedly cursed and haunted. The place known as Sac Uayum is what is referred to as a cenote, which is a pit which is formed when limestone bedrock collapses to expose the groundwater beneath. Well-known for their stunningly crystal clear water, these cenotes are scattered all about the Yucatan Peninsula, with around 6,000 of them known so far and many of which have dark histories as places of ritual sacrifice for the ancient Mayans. The cenote Sac Uayum was never used for such purposes, as it was feared by the Mayans as a cursed place guarded by demons, and Natives of the area have to this day steered clear of it, saying it is haunted by angry spirits.

Sac Uayum lies just outside the ruins of the ancient Maya city of Mayapánreaches, reaches a depth of around 115 feet, and it was long completely unexplored until a recent survey delved into its depths and found some strange things indeed. Down there through the strikingly clear water it was found that the bottom was divided into two chambers that were littered with numerous human remains that no one can quite figure out, with archeologist Bradley Russell saying of their initial dives there, “It was genuinely strange the first time we saw it. From the very first dive, we had seen skulls. At the time of this dive, we were still doing an initial assessment and putting together a plan of action for mapping the cenote.”

Among the many remains the researchers have found within the cenote’s two submerged chambers are those of a woman with a skull that was intentionally flattened at birth for unknown reasons, the remains of cows, and skulls possessing teeth that are in remarkably good condition, suggesting they had been young at the time of death. As to why all of these bones are here, no one really knows. They do not display any sort of trauma, meaning that they were likely not sacrificial offerings, and many of the remains seem to be from people 18 years old or younger. There are also no signs of any relics or artifacts buried with them, meaning that they were not some sort of society elite getting a special burial. They could have been victims of disease that were tossed down here and there is no way to know that, but it would explain why many chose to stay away from this place and could have given rise to the legends of the curse, combined with the fact that the sinkhole lies to the south of Mayapánreaches, with south being the traditional Mayan direction of the underworld. In the end no one knows, and those bodies remain forgotten down in those clear azure waters, as mysterious as they have always been.

A fairly grim discovery was also made in the country of Sweden in 2009, when archeologists uncovered a treasure trove of the macabre while excavating a remote lake bed on the eastern shore of Lake Vattern. The researchers were able to find numerous skulls dated to around 8,000 years old, from men, women, and children, many of which were either gruesomely mounted atop stakes or had once been, making it all the creepier. The so-called “Tomb of the Sunken Skulls” is now not underwater, but at the time that these bodies were interred here it would have been, and to make it all the more bizarre, most of the skulls were missing their jawbones.

There have been the remains of 11 individuals found here, with only one retaining the jawbone and seven of the adults displaying some form of blunt trauma to the skull, made all the more odder that this trauma did not kill them, as there were signs that the skulls had healed afterwards, for reasons we will probably never know. The remains are tethered to a mysterious underwater burial site that measures 39 feet by 46 feet (12 by 14 meters), encircled by stones and with a flat surface upon which the skulls were staked and set into the earth beneath. The remains were interspersed with animal bones that seem to have been intentionally arranged in a specific pattern, with the south end holding brown bear bones, the remains of big game animals on the southeastern part, and the human bones in the center of it all. One of the researchers studying it has said of it, “It’s a very enigmatic structure. We really don’t understand the reason why they did this and why they put it under water.”

All of this was preserved phenomenally well, due to the low-oxygen conditions and alkaline water composition, creating an unearthly and rather surreal atmosphere for it all. As to why these remains are here there are only guesses. They could have been the victims of battle, their heads kept as trophies and staked for display. It might also have been some sort of burial site, possibly for those of some stigmatized group which would explain the strange circumstances of their internment, or a place of ritual sacrifice. A researcher of the site has said of it:

The people who were deposited like this in the lake, they weren’t average people, but probably people who, after they died, had been selected to be included in this ritual because of who they were, because of things they experienced in life.

In the end we have what is left of these enigmatic individuals floating about in the gloomy depths of their final resting places, forgotten and left to their mysteries they took with them to their deaths. They float about their in the depths, their empty eye sockets staring up through the water at the light of once was, their stories unknown and their deaths unexplained. What happened to these people? Who were they? Why were they buried here in their watery graves and how did they end up here? We can only speculate, and the answers may forever elude us.

Outbreak Of Strange Electric-Blue Clouds Detected Over Antarctica

NASA's AIM spacecraft is monitoring an outbreak of electric-blue clouds high above Antarctica. These are "noctilucent clouds" (NLCs). They form when wisps of summertime water vapor wrap themselves around meteor smoke, forming swarms of ice crystals at the edge of space.

If you think strange clouds in the atmosphere over remote Antarctica are of little practical interest, think again.

According to Spaceweather, researchers have discovered unexpected teleconnections between noctilucent clouds and weather patterns thousands of miles away.

De ChemCam-camera van Curiosity stuurt beelden van de omgeving rond de rover door naar ruimtevaartorganisatie NASA. Op één van die foto’s zagen wetenschappers na inzoomen plots de steen, die ‘Little Colonsay’ werd gedoopt. Ze sturen Curiosity nu terug om het ding van dichtbij te bekijken. Opnieuw, want bij een eerste poging werd het doelwit gemist. “Het team denkt dat het misschien om een meteoriet kan gaan, omdat het zo glimt”, laat NASA weten. “Maar schijn bedriegt soms. Bewijs volgt alleen uit de chemie.”

Daar komt de ChemCam van Curiosity opnieuw goed van pas. De Chemcam analyseert met een laser de elementaire samenstelling van verdampte materialen van kleine steen –en gronddeeltjes op Mars. Een spectograaf geeft info over de mineralen en microstructuren in stenen.

Drie andere objecten die NASA met veel nieuwsgierigheid opnieuw wil inspecteren, is de ‘Flanders Moss’, een klein object met een interessante donkere deklaag die de onderzoekers niet meteen kunnen thuisbrengen, en twee stalen van grijs gesteente met de naam ‘Forres’ en ‘Eildon’.

This UFO was reported to me on Facebook by a reader here. The UFO was disguised as a cloud and was glowing colors that none of the other clouds were glowing. It was caught during sunset in Iceland and the eyewitness said they felt a calming effect when seeing it. UFOs often disguise as clouds in order to get closer to the ground without frightening people. Often UFOs have a power to calm, relax and even to make you forget for a time that you saw them.

600 Million Years Ago, the First Scavengers Lurked in Dark Ocean Gardens

The bizarre organisms of the Ediacaran Period have long puzzled researchers. Fossil discoveries suggest these ecosystems may have been more complicated than once thought.

Some 635 million years ago, as the Earth shook off massive shrouds of glacial ice, an alien world blossomed on the ocean floors.

No complex animals prowled the seas of the Ediacaran Period. Instead, the depths held microbial mats and strange, frond-like creatures that resembled nothing alive today. Paleontologists have suggested that this was a sort of Garden of Eden, a simple ecosystem wiped away by the more vibrant fauna of the following Cambrian Period.

But recent research is complicating this view, suggesting that Ediacaran ecosystems were more complex than previously thought. Fossils also hint at the beginnings of a massive shift: scavenging that later evolved into predation.

“It’s the beginning of a major change in the ecosystem of the Earth, an irrevocable change,” said Mary Droser, a paleobiologist at the University of California, Riverside. “The ability to eat another animal is a big deal, and is a major ecological and biological innovation.”

The fossils of the Ediacaran, found in desolate locations like Namibia and South Australia, have been notoriously controversial and difficult to interpret. They include strange, quilted blobs; stationary filter-feeders; and organisms like enormous ferns, some up to eight feet long.

“At first, they were all thought to be jellyfish,” said Simon A.F. Darroch, a paleontologist at Vanderbilt University. “Later, others argued that they were stem-animals or lichens.” (Stem-animals were proto-animals: not quite plants, not yet creatures.)

Scientists also have debated how sophisticated these seafloor ecologies were, Dr. Darroch added. A complex ecosystem holds multiple species with a multitude of feeding strategies, like a modern forest or a reef. A simple ecosystem comprises only a few species with the same basic strategies.

Looking at the Ediacaran’s apparently uncomplicated organisms — without legs or obvious guts — most researchers assumed this ecosystem was on the simple side. But in a study recently published in Nature Ecology and Evolution, Dr. Darroch and his colleagues surveyed seafloor fossils from various parts of the Ediacaran and concluded that the early stages of the period featured surprisingly intricate communities.

Dive into the Ediacaran seas, and you’d see sediments covered in thick sheets of green or white microbes. There were no deep burrowers here; the ocean mud had the solidity and stickiness of a tile floor after a fraternity party.

The few multicellular organisms grazed slowly on the congealed mats or sat atop them, using different body shapes to pluck nutrients from the currents. Sea jellies, or something like them, may have floated in the open waters — nobody’s sure.

Many of these organisms had an architecture unlike any seen in modern organisms, said Martin Smith, a paleontologist at Durham University in England. While they may have appeared plantlike, they lived in waters too deep for sunlight to penetrate.

Even their precise shapes are unknown. Some may have been folded into complex patterns; others, inflated like a water bed.

“They probably grew very slowly,” Dr. Smith said, “arriving as spores on a virgin seafloor after a mudslide or land slip, then reproducing asexually to form interconnected colonies that gradually populated the seafloor.”

Dr. Darroch and his colleagues suggest that different feeding strategies were at the root of this unexpected diversity, but Dr. Smith finds it hard to imagine such organisms feeding in radically different ways.

Instead, the organisms may have competed with one another with varying reproductive strategies, he suggested. Some were able to alter their shapes according to their surroundings and then to spread their spores over a greater distance.

Even with such unexpected diversity, the Ediacaran was a still world, without much in the way of predation. But dead organisms were an easy resource, Dr. Droser said, and some animals began to take advantage.

According to a recent paper Dr. Droser co-wrote in the journal Emerging Topics in Life Sciences, a new set of fossils shows the oldest known traces of such scavenging. Recovered from the Flinders Ranges of South Australia, the rocks hold beautifully preserved fossils of Ediacaran organisms, with tiny passages carved through them.

Dr. Droser and James Gehling, a paleontologist at the South Australian Museum, suggest that these burrows were made by small animals nibbling through microbe mats decaying under thin drifts of sand, and devouring the dead organisms they found in the mats.

In a world where nothing dug very deep, burrowing would have been a biological and ecological innovation.

“The scavenging occurred after the organisms were buried, so we know that they were dead,” Dr. Droser said. “Eating a dead animal requires more oxygen and also a metabolism that can digest it.”

But Dr. Smith disagrees, pointing out that signs of scavenging after the Ediacaran Period are not like these. Scientists tend to find elaborate patterns in fossils, left by animals exploiting every inch of decaying organic matter.

“These Ediacaran burrowers seem not to care that they’ve just passed through a potential meal,” Dr. Smith said.

“This doesn’t sound like a great strategy for a scavenger, less still for a predator,” he added. “But perhaps these early organisms were still learning the ropes.”

Either way, the advent of simple scavenging and burrowing heralded larger changes to come. Scavenging may have been a steppingstone to active predation, and the evolution of the first predators kicked off a massive arms race. Once prey began attempting to escape, defendingthemselves or fighting back, competition and natural selection began to escalate.

There are clues that something was changing toward the end of the Ediacaran, Dr. Darroch said: signs of movement in the mud fall dramatically, as do the number of species recorded — symptoms of an ecosystem under stress.

As the microbial mats disappeared in a world of burrowers, the fragile species that lived off them went, too. The appearance of more recognizable animals — mobile and powerful, able to punch through the mats and devour other living organisms — might have caused a biologically driven mass extinction.

The Cambrian explosion gave rise to many recognizable animal groups, and for a time these overshadowed the strange, silent gardens of the Ediacaran. But the key to how multicellular ecosystems developed seems to lie in sandstones left by those chilly seas, in an ecosystem much more diverse than previously suspected.

“Life has impacted our world today from the production of oxygen to churning up soil,” Dr. Droser said. “We can see in the Ediacaran the firsts of a number of these biological and ecological processes that later became essential to our planet.”
