What will NASA's moon base look like? As the US space agency reveals plans to build a $20 billion lunar 'city' by 2032, experts reveal how it could take shape
NASA has unveiled plans to construct a $20 billion moon base by 2032, giving humans their first permanent outpost on another celestial body.
But what will this 'city' on our lunar satellite look like?
The lunar outpost will initially be fairly basic, using a simple collapsible structure carried all the way from Earth.
However, as NASA's presence becomes more permanent, the small camp will soon expand into a sprawling modular metropolis.
Dr Simeon Barber, a lunar scientist from the Open University, told the Daily Mail that Antarctic research stations are a good comparison for NASA's moon base.
Just like a home on the moon, these remote habitats need to be self–sufficient, built with materials carried over long journeys, and to protect their inhabitants from harsh conditions.
But Dr Barber says that a moon base will also require 'specific requirements stemming from the unique circumstances at the moon'.
This means that NASA's moon base will probably end up as a widely spread collection of prefabricated modules, sprawling over hundreds of square miles.

As NASA unveils plans to construct a $20 billion moon base by 2032, experts reveal what this base would really look like. Pictured: A NASA render of its planned moon infrastructure
On Tuesday, NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman laid out the agency's three–stage plan to build a permanent presence on the moon.
Between autumn this year and 2029, the agency will oversee up to 21 lunar landings to deliver scientific equipment and robotic scouts.
A fleet of MoonFall helicopter drones and uncrewed rovers will patrol the South Pole region, looking for sources of water and an ideal location for human settlement.
Between 2029 and 2032, the first humans will start to arrive, establishing basic infrastructure, habitation, and power supplies.
Finally, in 2032, NASA will move into the final stage of permanent occupation, establishing a full–time moon base with regular crew rotations and resupply landings.
Speaking at a press conference, Mr Isaacman identified the biggest challenge as the moon's astonishingly harsh conditions.
On the lunar surface, temperatures can swing from around 100°C (212°F) in the day to –100°C (–148°F) at night.
This is accompanied by the constant threat of radiation, impact from micrometeorites, and harmful clouds of choking lunar dust.

The first habitats to be sent to the moon would be simple, modular structures constructed on Earth. They may be parts of the spacecraft that took the astronauts to the surface.

Using modular parts will allow NASA to start very simple and expand the base as needed, adding more facilities and quarters for more crew
'There is no atmosphere to moderate these extremes,' added Mr Isaacman.
Given these conditions, the first requirement for a lunar base is that it offers enough protection for the astronauts living there.
Dr Barber says: 'It needs to provide a habitable environment. So, air to breathe, temperature control to tame the wild day–night changes at the Moon's surface, protection from radiation, and from the very fine, abrasive and toxic Moon dust.'
However, a moon base also needs to cater to astronauts' basic physical and psychological needs.
Astronauts will need space to wash and shower to keep infections at bay, as well as plenty of space to exercise to fight the muscle and bone loss which comes with living in reduced gravity.
'And not to forget, the explorers will be living in harsh and stressful conditions, so mental health will be important,' adds Dr Barber.
This means the crew will need somewhere to rest and relax after a hard day at work exploring the deadly lunar surface.
With so many different requirements, the most likely solution is to send prefabricated structures from Earth that can be assembled on the lunar surface.

Experts say that the first structures may be inflatable, packing down very small on Earth before expanding on the moon. Pictured: A NASA concept for inflatable lunar housing
These could be made from repurposed parts of the spacecraft that sends the astronauts to the moon in the first place, or simply using the lander itself.
NASA has also investigated using inflatable structures that could be packed up very small before expanding on the surface.
Professor Mahesh Anand, an expert on the lunar surface from the Open University, told the Daily Mail: 'The earliest habitable structure on the Moon will most likely be constructed largely from materials brought from Earth and, later, combined with materials derived from the landing region.
'A self–inflatable tent made of light, but mechanically very strong material, could be sited in a sheltered place in the vicinity of the lander, which would probably offer the least risk.'
Much like the International Space Station, modular options will allow the moon base to start simple before attaching more parts as needed.
Experts say that astronauts could then bury these early structures in lunar regolith, the loose soil of the moon's surface, to provide some basic protection from meteorites and radiation.
The big leap forward for the moon base will come when NASA installs a nuclear reactor around 2029.
NASA has been working on small 40–kilowatt–class reactors that are designed to be launched inert from Earth and activated upon arrival.

NASA is already preparing small 40–kilowatt–class nuclear reactors that are designed to be launched inert from Earth and activated upon arrival

These nuclear reactors will need to be kept far from the moon base, or buried deep in the lunar regolith to protect astronauts from radiation. Pictured: A NASA rendering of a small nuclear reactor on the moon
Due to the radiation risk, astronauts would also need to place these far from their actual habitat or bury them deep within the lunar regolith.
However, once the astronauts have a steady supply of power, they will be able to start gathering and processing materials from the moon's surface, in a process called 'in situ extraction'.
Dr Barber explains: 'Earth's strong gravity field means a lot of energy is required to lift anything off Earth's surface and then land it on the Moon.
'So there is a strong argument for living off the land and making use of local resources.'
NASA is currently developing robots that can convert lunar soil into bricks to be used in construction, as well as ways of processing the regolith into new materials.
Recent research has shown that lunar regolith can be 'printed' using a laser, melting layers of dust to form highly durable structures.
These methods could be used to 3D print entire buildings that would be a more comfortable, permanent housing solution for the astronauts.
But this new industrial expansion would also shape the layout of the moon base.

Astronauts will start mining the lunar dust to process it into more advanced building materials, allowing for more complex structures. Pictured: A NASA rendering of a mining station on the moon
Unlike an Antarctic research station, which keeps everything tightly packed in one structure, a moon base would need to be spread out over miles.
The radiation from the nuclear reactor would need to be kept at a safe distance, as would the sites for excavating and processing the hazardous moon dust.
Likewise, some scientific instruments would need to be kept in a 'radio–quiet' location, far from any potential interference.
This means that the final moon base would look a lot less like an Earth–based research outpost and more like a sprawling collection of individual structures, dotted over a vast blank terrain.

How a radical new view of life could reveal its origin – and aliens
We've been looking at nature the wrong way, argues Rowan Hooper. If we stop focusing on the individual, we get a whole new picture of how life on Earth – and elsewhere – may have begun
By Rowan Hooper

A fresh line of research is challenging long‑standing ideas about how life began on Earth. Recent analyses of material returned from asteroid Ryūg‑yu reveal nucleobases—the molecular building blocks of DNA and RNA—formed in space and possibly delivered to the early planet. The discovery dovetails with a growing appreciation for symbiosis in biology and resurrects Charles Darwin’s “warm little pond” speculation, suggesting that life’s origin may be a story of cosmic chemistry meeting terrestrial partnership. The implications reach beyond Earth, offering a new framework for the search for alien biology.
Japan’s Hayabusa‑2 mission retrieved samples from Ryūg‑yu in 2020, and subsequent laboratory work identified several uracil and adenine derivatives that match those found in terrestrial organisms. Researchers argue these molecules formed in the asteroid’s icy matrix under ultraviolet radiation and cosmic‑ray bombardment, a process that can assemble pyrimidine and purine rings without any biological catalyst. “The chemistry we see on Ryūg‑yu is indistinguishable from that required for the first genetic polymers,” says Dr Miyu Tanaka of the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science. If such compounds were abundant in the early solar system, they could have been delivered in large quantities to the Hadean Earth, seeding the planet with the raw material for RNA‑based life.
For more than a century, the dominant narrative has been that life emerged in a “warm little pond” rich in ammonia, phosphates and energy sources, an idea Darwin himself entertained in an 1871 letter to Joseph Hooker. Modern studies, however, have shifted focus to deep‑sea hydrothermal vents, where mineral pores create natural electrochemical gradients that could drive pre‑biotic reactions. Biochemist Nick Lane of University College London notes, “The internal pores of the vents have cell‑like structures with electrically charged catalytic surfaces, while the continuous flow gives continuous reactivity.” The Ryūg‑yu findings add a third dimension: organic precursors may have arrived from space before terrestrial environments became chemically favorable, providing a head‑start that bridges the gap between cosmic synthesis and Earth‑bound catalysis.
The new perspective aligns with a broader scientific movement that places symbiosis at the heart of biological complexity. In her forthcoming book Togetherness, author‑researcher Gilles Hooper‑Rowan argues that cellular cooperation—whether between algae and fungi in lichens or between mitochondria and host cells—has been under‑appreciated in evolutionary narratives. By viewing the origin of life as a collaborative process—first between molecules formed in interstellar ice, then between mineral surfaces in vents, and finally between emerging protocells—researchers gain a more integrated picture of how complexity can arise without invoking a single “primordial soup” event.

If nucleobases can be synthesized and preserved in asteroids, they become a universal metric for habitability. Future missions to carbon‑rich bodies such as Ceres or comet 67P/Churyumov‑Gerasimenko will likely prioritize detecting these molecules, expanding the catalogue of “pre‑biotic inventory” beyond Earth. Moreover, the idea that life’s chemistry is portable across planetary systems strengthens the case for looking for biosignatures on exoplanets with volatile delivery histories, such as those orbiting young, dusty stars where cometary bombardment is common.
Scientists caution that delivery alone does not guarantee the emergence of life; the transition from free nucleobases to self‑replicating polymers remains a formidable gap. Ongoing laboratory simulations aim to replicate the combined effects of space‑borne organics, vent‑like mineral scaffolds, and fluctuating redox conditions. As Dr Tanaka emphasizes, “We are moving from asking whether extraterrestrial chemistry contributed to life, to how it integrated with Earth’s own processes.” The convergence of astrobiology, geochemistry, and symbiosis research promises a more nuanced narrative—one that may finally answer the age‑old question of our origins while guiding the hunt for life beyond our world.
UFO files reveal new evidence of secret invasion by mysterious silver spheres
The Trump Administration released a fresh wave of UFO files last week, including never-before-seen footage of mysterious metallic spheres flying throughout the world.
The latest batch in the White House's push for UFO disclosure arrived Friday, including 46 videos Congress has been demanding the Pentagon release for months.
Some of the clearest images seen were of strange orbs or silver spheres appearing to float or travel at extreme speeds over mountains, oceans and even military targets.
Those mysterious sightings add to the growing number of reports and physical encounters humans have allegedly had with the ball-like objects that have seemingly invaded the entire planet.
In fact, a study from the crowdsourced platform Enigma, which allows people to report sightings of UFOs, revealed more than 8,000 sightings of orbs across the US between December 2022 and June 2025.
These reports did not even include the startling recovery of a metallic sphere seen floating above South America last year before crashing to Earth in Buga, Colombia.
The new footage released last week also matched hundreds of specific reports from witnesses who have seen 'metallic orbs' with no visible engine quickly moving through the sky.
Despite releasing the new information, the US government has not publicly commented on where these spheres are believed to have come from, what their intentions are or if the military has recovered any of these objects.

Pictured: A sphere-shaped craft seen in the latest batch of UFO file disclosed by the Pentagon. The object was seen flying over an undisclosed country on October 7, 2020
Among the most startling new videos released by the Pentagon was one captured by a US military satellite on April 12, 2021.
US Central Command, which is responsible for military operations in the Middle East, Central Asia and parts of Africa, captured nearly five minutes of color video as the satellite chased a large silver sphere over an unknown mountain range.
The UFO could be seen traveling at high speed and moving effortlessly above the terrain despite having no clear signs of an engine or way of flying that fast.
Another sphere-shaped craft was reported to the Pentagon in 2024, when another military satellite captured infrared video of the object over a large body of water repeatedly pulsating with a blinding light.
The satellite followed the UFO as it appeared to rotate and then began flashing brightly, giving off rays of light while flying low over the water at high speed.
Compared to the UFO seen flying over the mountains, the pulsating orb appeared to change shape and moved erratically as the satellite struggled to keep the image centered for more than three minutes.
So far, the Pentagon has released over 200 files related to UAPs, which have long been an object of public fascination, following the directive from Trump.
Officials noted, however, that many of the records lacked a fully verified chain of custody, raising questions about how the materials were obtained and authenticated.

US military satellites spotted a strange UFO pulsating with light over an undisclosed location at sea
While many of these mysterious spheres from an unknown source have been seen moving at extreme speed, others have been caught trying to stay hidden from human eyes.
On November 23, 2020, US satellites from US Central Command captured an eerie sight as a large spherical craft slowly moved in and out of a pocket of thick clouds.
The dark UFO appeared to carefully weave through the dense clouds, allowing military cameras to zoom in and follow the strange orb.
Other new clips seen in the latest release from the Pentagon included multiple UFOs flying together in coordinated patterns, while others described more ‘erratic movement’ and glowing spheres hovering stationary before rapidly disappearing.
While the latest videos released by the US Department of War allegedly show UFOs stalking areas in foreign countries, Enigma revealed last year that more than 360 'metallic orb' reports have taken place within a few miles of military bases here on US soil.
In three of those cases, witnesses revealed that the orbs got within five miles of Fort Hamilton in New York, Papago Military Reserve in Arizona, and Los Angeles Air Force Base on multiple occasions.

The 'Buga Sphere' displays symbols that researchers in South America compared to ancient scripts, including runes, Ogham and Mesopotamian writing systems
Meanwhile, it remains unclear if the objects can be seriously damaged by human technology.
Last year, Congressman Eric Burlison of Missouri revealed footage of an orb-shaped UFO off the coast of Yemen being struck by a Hellfire missile from US military drone and surviving the impact.
The 100-pound air-to-ground precision weapon bouncing off the mysterious orb, which continued traveling at extreme speed as several fragments of the orb which broke away during the impact continued to fly next to the UFO.
In Colombia, the so-called Buga Sphere allegedly collided with power lines in the city, sending it crashing to Earth and landing in a local field.
However, that sphere reportedly continued to emit some type of energy which scorched the grass around it, killed the local soil and allegedly caused those who touched it to become ill as if they had been exposed to a form of radiation.
More UFO files are expected to be released by the Pentagon, but an exact date for the third release has not been announced.
Why ‘UFO’ clouds were spotted over North East this Bank Holiday

(Image: Northern Echo Camera Club)
Will Foxx - Reporter
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's a lenticular cloud formation.
Strange, saucer‑shaped clouds had plenty of people in the North East glancing at the sky over the Bank Holiday - and checking their photos twice for UFOs.
The unusual formations, spotted from Darlington to Sunderland, looked uncannily like flying saucers stacked on top of each other, hanging almost motionless.
What people were really seeing were lenticular clouds - rare, lens‑shaped clouds that often get mistaken for unidentified flying objects because of their smooth, sculpted edges and layered, 'spaceship‑like' appearance.

They don’t behave like typical fluffy cumulus clouds; instead, they tend to sit in one place for a long time, forming and fading in the same spot, which only adds to the eerie, other‑worldly effect.
That stillness against a hazy blue backdrop is exactly what made them so eye‑catching during the Bank Holiday heatwave.
Lenticular clouds usually develop when stable, moist air is forced to flow over higher ground, such as the Pennines or the Cheviots, and begins to ripple in a series of invisible waves on the downwind side.

As the air rises at the crest of each wave it cools, the moisture condenses and a distinctive, lens‑shaped cloud forms; as it sinks again, the cloud evaporates, giving that sharply defined, “cut‑out” edge.
During the heatwave, strong temperature differences at different levels of the atmosphere and changes in wind speed with height made these waves more pronounced, increasing the chances of lenticular clouds forming.
With clear skies, warm evenings and half the region outside for the bank holiday, it was the perfect recipe for these mini UFO clouds and some spectacular photos to go with the science.
According to the experts, they form when air is stable and winds blow across hills and mountains from the same or similar direction at different heights.
What Ongoing US UAP disclosure reveals about the brittleness of power, and why Africa should read it through Utu
I have always been fascinated by the possibility of meeting beings from another planet, another universe, another dimension, or humans from the future. Watching Hollywood science fiction these past few decades, the animated features, the movies, the series, I always had a gnawing feeling at the back of my mind that we were being psychologically prepared, or manipulated, for that reality. I have followed the disclosure movement closely for a decade or so, and I have watched the debate on both sides, the case for and the case against the existence of Non-Human Intelligences or “aliens”, and the propaganda each camp produces, religiously (pun intended).
The Overton window has moved. For decades, the subject of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UFOs) sat at the edge of serious conversation, kept there by ridicule and a quiet, effective stigma. That containment has broken. In February 2026 the United States government directed its agencies to identify and declassify legacy files on UAPs and alleged extraterrestrial matters, and by May this year, the Pentagon had launched a public archive promising fresh tranches every few weeks. That online archive has already had over one billion views.
Which is exactly why I want to be careful here. Someone who has spent a decade inside this fascination, who has wanted it to be real, has a duty to be the most disciplined reader in the room, not the least. It is tempting, reading the more excitable corners of the internet, to believe the question has already been answered: that recovered craft, reverse-engineered physics, and non-human intelligence are now established fact. They are not. The US government’s own historical review found no verifiable evidence that it had ever confirmed a sighting of alien technology, and the first batch of released files deliberately concentrates on cases where no definitive determination was ever reached. The dramatic claims, atom-by-atom material engineering, intact craft held in private hangars, zero point energy, belong to sworn whistleblower testimony. That testimony deserves a hearing. It is not the same thing as proof, and any honest writer has to hold that line.
The US state has not confirmed that we are not alone
So let us be precise about what has actually shifted, because the truth is more interesting than the fantasy. The US state has not confirmed that we are not alone. The US state has conceded something subtler and, for our purposes, far more consequential: that for the better part of a century, an apparatus operating largely outside democratic oversight decided, on the people’s behalf, what they were permitted to know about the nature of their own reality. The cargo in the vaults is still unknown. The architecture of secrecy is not.
The Real Shock is not in the Sky. It is in the Ledger
Here is the detail that should hold your attention. Before Trump’s executive order, before the archive, a former Bank of England analyst named Helen McCaw wrote to the Governor of the central bank, urging him to prepare contingency plans, because in her judgment, an official confirmation of intelligent non-human life could trigger extreme market instability and a collapse of public confidence in the financial system. She borrowed a term from philosophy to name what she feared: ontological shock, a disruption so deep it forces a society to question what it thought it knew about reality itself.
Read that carefully, because the press largely missed the point. The Bank of England issued no warning. This was one person’s private counsel, and she was clear that it was contingency thinking rather than prediction. The story is not that aliens are coming for your pension. The story is that a serious financial mind looked at the system she had spent a decade helping to run, asked what would happen if public faith in official truth cracked, and concluded the answer was: bank runs, volatility, and a flight out of anything that depends on trust in distant institutions.
That is the tell. You do not war game a confidence collapse for a system you believe is solid. The elites are quietly pricing in their own fragility. And the fragility does not require the craft to be real. It only requires enough people to stop believing that those in charge have been telling them the truth.
The Social Contract was Always a Promise About Truth
Strip away the spacecraft, and you are left with something every Kenyan, every African, recognizes immediately. The modern social contract rests on a quiet promise: that the institutions governing us, however flawed, hold an honest monopoly on the baseline facts of our shared reality. We accept their authority partly because we accept their account of the world.

The “disclosure” moment punctures that promise without needing to confirm a single alien. It is enough that the state now admits, in its own carefully managed way, that there were categories of truth it reserved for itself, decided by people no one elected, justified by a phrase, national security, that ends most arguments before they begin. Whatever turns out to be in those files, the admission that such an apparatus existed is itself the wound to legitimacy.
We in Africa do not need a Pentagon archive to teach us this lesson. We have lived inside managed truth for generations. We were told structural adjustment would bring prosperity. We were told our currencies were stable while their value was set in rooms we would never enter. We were told the extraction of our minerals, our labour, and our futures was development. The UAP story is dramatic because it is happening to the people who usually do the managing. For the formerly colonized, the discovery that institutions lie about the nature of reality to maintain control is not ontological shock. It is Tuesday.
Shock as Opportunity, and the Question of Who is Positioned
Naomi Klein gave us the grammar for what tends to happen next. In the Shock Doctrine, moments of collective disorientation are not merely endured. They are harvested. Crisis loosens the grip of the ordinary, and whoever has prepared in advance moves to restructure the system on terms that would have been unthinkable in calm times.
So, the honest question is not whether disclosure will hand us infinite clean energy and dissolve scarcity overnight. That is speculation dressed as prophecy, and we should leave it to the prophets. The honest question is narrower and far more useful: if a genuine confidence shock arrives, whether from this story or the next one, who is positioned to capture the restructuring, and on whose terms?
Because the architecture of extraction does not wait for aliens. It is already here. The global economy already runs on engineered scarcity, on the commodification of basic needs, on the careful enclosure of what should be common. A legitimacy shock does not create that contest. It accelerates a question that was already being asked, most urgently by those who have been on the losing end of the arrangement the longest.
Africa Has Already Taken the Exam the North is Now Nervous About
McCaw’s fear, when you reduce it to its core, is the fear of a people discovering that the value of their money rests entirely on trust in institutions that may not deserve it. Sit with that. It is the most ordinary fact of African economic life.
The citizen of a CFA franc country has always known that the deepest decisions about her money are made far away, by people who do not answer to her. The Kenyan watching the shilling slide knows the gap between the official story and the price of unga. The worker sending money home across borders knows the corridor will quietly take eight or ten per cent of what he earned with his body, a tax on love levied by intermediaries who add nothing. We have spent our lives learning that monetary sovereignty is something other people enjoy at our expense.
So, the question of how value survives a collapse of institutional trust is not exotic to us. It is overdue. Some will conclude, as McCaw herself leaned, that capital should retreat to gold, to precious metals, to things that hold value without anyone’s permission. Others will look at the new monetary tools, at decentralized and mathematically verified assets that no minister can debase, and no distant board can freeze, and ask whether self-custody is not simply dignity expressed in money. These are not settled answers. But Africans, of all people, have earned the right to ask the question without flinching, because we have been living the lesson the North is only now rehearsing in private memos.
Utu, or the Sovereignty That Does Not Depend on the Lie Holding
Here is where the Northern frame runs out of road, and where we have something to offer that the disclosure debate badly needs.
The whole anxiety, McCaw’s, the market’s, the secret keepers’, is an anxiety about confidence in systems. What happens when faith in the state breaks? What happens when faith in fiat breaks? It is sovereignty imagined as a property of institutions, and so it is only ever as strong as the public’s willingness to keep believing.
Utu begins somewhere else entirely. Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu. Mtu ni mtu juu ya watu. A person is a person through other people. In this understanding, the ground of human worth is not the state’s monopoly on truth, nor the market’s monopoly on value. It is relationships. It is the mutual recognition of dignity between people, and the web of obligation that binds us into a community capable of holding itself together when the larger structures wobble.
This is why Utu is the right lens for an ontological shock. A sovereignty built on extraction, lies, and secrecy is brittle by design because it depends on the managed story never cracking. A sovereignty built on Utu does not. It does not require the public to keep believing a lie, because it was never founded on one. When McCaw imagines confidence evaporating and asks where value will flee, she is describing a system that mistook trust in institutions for the real thing. Utu names the real thing: a people’s capacity to recognize one another’s humanity and organize their common life around it, with or without permission from above.
Seen this way, self-custody of one’s money is not a technological gimmick or a speculative bet. It is a small practice of the larger principle: that dignity should not be held hostage to the honesty of distant powers. The deeper project is not merely to escape the old architecture. It is to build a new one whose foundation is human, relational, and ours.
The Architecture of Truth, and the Architecture of Trust
We do not yet know what is in the vaults. We may not for years, and we should resist the temptation to fill the silence with stories that make us feel chosen or doomed. What we do know is this: the disclosure moment, whatever it finally reveals, has exposed how much of our world runs on managed truth and borrowed confidence, and how quickly the people who manage it begin to sweat when the management slips.
That is not a reason for panic. For Africa, it is an invitation. The North is discovering, with some alarm, a fragility we have navigated for centuries. The opportunity is not to flee one brittle system for another, but to ask the older question the whole crisis has been circling without naming: what would a human-centered sovereignty actually rest on?
The answer was never going to come from the sky. It comes from the ground beneath us; from the oldest wisdom we carry as Africans. A person is a person through other people. Mtu ni watu. My religion. Build on that, and it does not matter what they have been hiding. The foundation holds.
New biblical fears as declassified UFO files reveal 'angels' in flight
The Trump Administration released a fresh wave of UFO files last week, including never-before-seen footage of mysterious objects some have compared to entities in the Bible.
The latest batch in the White House's push for UFO disclosure arrived Friday, including 46 videos Congress has been demanding the Pentagon release for months.
Some of the clearest footage involved two incidents where US satellites captured oddly-shaped UFOs flying over undisclosed bodies of water for several minutes.
One of those videos appeared to show a small figure in flight that some have claimed looks like a person with wings, moving through the air as protrusions from its upper body moved back and forth.
'Out of all the newly released files, this one is easily the wildest. The object almost appears humanoid, with visible arms and legs,' one person said.
'This UFO looks almost like an angel. Pretty amazing video,' another commenter added on social media.
The other new UFO incident followed a strange object for over ten minutes flying over water. However, as the US military satellite zoomed in, the object appeared to have several protrusions or tentacles on all sides.
It was the latest strangely shaped object that somewhat resembled a biblical object known as the Cherubim, the multi-faced, winged angelic beings described in the Bible’s Book of Ezekiel.

The second batch of UFO files released by the Pentagon included a video which showed a UFO resembling the biblical object known as the Cherubim

Congress recently requested 46 UFO videos from the Department of War, and eight of them were leaked to an investigative journalist
'The shape shifting, the sensor struggling to lock on, the object behaving unlike anything familiar — it triggers that “this shouldn’t exist” feeling,' one social media user said.
The newly declassified video was the second time a UFO was compared to the biblical vehicle described as having 'wheels within wheels' this month.
Another video from the first batch of UFO files released on May 8 revealed footage of an 'eight-pointed star,' darting through the darkness with uneven, shape-shifting arms.
Texas pastor Josh Howerton said on X that the eight-pointed object resembled the strange heavenly structures described in the Book of Ezekiel, which recounted glowing entities and the mysterious wheels moving beside God's throne-chariot without turning.
'What I am trying to point out is the very possible overlap between a Biblical cosmology and some of the things you're seeing on your timeline,' Howerton shared.
The new video was reported by the US Indo-Pacific Command in 2024. It is America's largest military unit and is responsible for all operations across the Pacific Ocean, East Asia, Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean.
Meanwhile, the alleged angel sighting took place on June 1, 2020, when a military satellite used by US Central Command captured the object in flight. CENTCOM is responsible for US military operations in the Middle East and parts of Central Asia and Africa.
As UFO disclosure continues, influential Christian leaders have warned that the growing number of extraterrestrial sightings linked to the Bible could lead to a dark prophecy known as the 'great deception.'

A video released in the first wave of UFO files appeared to show a glowing object resembling an 'eight-pointed star' with uneven arms moving across the sky
Pastor Joseph Zupetz and evangelist Tony Merkel told the Daily Mail prior to UFO disclosure that they were invited to a private meeting in remote Tennessee in February.
At the meeting, intelligence insiders and former military personnel discussed the idea that the unidentified objects could be 'interdimensional beings' or advanced technology.

However, they added that the organizers repeatedly compared disclosure to the biblical End Times prophecy some Christians believe signals a powerful spiritual crisis before the return of Jesus Christ.
'The great lie in this is that these interdimensional entities - the actual UFOs and every kind of supposed alien - are not benevolent,' Zupetz claimed, adding that there was a growing belief amongst Christians that these beings were 'interdimensional evil spirits, fallen angels or demons.'
Pastor Perry Stone, a well-known evangelist who was told about these secret meetings said last month: 'You're going to have people who are going to say if there are galaxies and there are allegedly other creations in the galaxies, then the whole creation story is a myth.'
'You're going to have people that's going to apostatize and turn from the Christian faith because they have no answer for what they're about to hear,' he continued.

Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna and other religious leaders have drawn comparisons between UFO sightings and an artist's impression of an angelic being with multiple wings known as the Cherubim
Officials who documented the videos cautioned that the footage description was provided for informational purposes only and should not be interpreted as proof of the object’s nature or origin.
The UFO files were made public months after President Trump ordered the Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to declassify government records related to UFOs and alleged extraterrestrial activity.
Tennessee Representative Tim Burchett, who has long been advocating for disclosure, said on X: 'Remember the Feds told us these files didn't exist and [Donald Trump] stood up to the deep state. The 1st drop will be big, but in comparison to what is coming they will be a drop in the bucket. I would say "Holy Crap" is coming.'
More UFO files are expected to be released by the Pentagon, but an exact date for the third release has not been announced.
Brilliant-green fireball meteor explodes over erupting volcano in the Philippines
Multiple videos show a rare "fireball" meteor breaking apart with a flash of emerald light over the erupting Mount Mayon. Initial reports suggested that the falling space rock hit the volcano, but this was untrue.

Stunning new footage shows a bright-green "fireball" meteor exploding in the skies over an erupting volcano in the Philippines. Initial reports suggested that the falling space rock may have struck the mountain's fiery slopes — however, experts have confirmed that this did not actually happen.
The "visually striking" fireball was spotted in the skies above Mount Mayon, located within the province of Albay on the island of Luzon in the central Philippines, at 10:33 p.m. local time (10:33 a.m. EDT) Sunday (May 25), according to the Philippine Space Agency.
Two livestreams monitoring Mayon's ongoing eruption captured the bright flash, which lasted just over a second. The volcano, which stands at 8,081 feet (2,463 meters) above sea level, began erupting in early January, according to the Smithsonian Institution's Global Volcanism Program.

The first video (above), captured by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), shows the event in black and white, with a bright flash occurring near the mountain's summit, which is illuminated by glowing lava.
The second video (below), captured in full color by livestream specialists at afarTV, reveals the red glow of the oozing magma, as well as the emerald light of the streaking meteor. If you watch until the end, you may see a small light rising from near the meteor's trail; this is believed to be the light from a satellite and not related to the meteor, according to afarTV.
However, an update to the first post later clarified that "our review of seismic, infrasound and additional camera footage around the volcano indicate that the meteor disintegrated while in the atmosphere and did not strike the slopes of Mayon."

Is this a UFO? New video matches viral 2015 marshmallow man sighting. Watch

The viral 2015 Los Angeles sighting that captivated millions by resembling a pop culture icon has found new relevance inside official military data logs.
(Photo: X/@JackDangerLIVE)
The skies over Los Angeles became a cosmic movie set in September 2015 when a massive, glowing white figure drifted into view.
Onlookers bypassed standard flying saucer descriptions entirely, pointing out that the bizarre silhouette looked exactly like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters, who is a famous fictional movie character depicted as a giant, puffy paranormal monster made of white marshmallows wearing a sailor hat.
The footage exploded across social media networks, logging millions of hits as viewers argued whether it was an extraterrestrial visitor, or just a brilliant helium balloon prank
Now, that viral internet memory has abruptly transformed into a matter of high-stakes military investigation.
The United States Department of War published its second official release of declassified files, which are documents cleared of government secrecy, under the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters on May 22, 2026, pulling the old mystery back into the spotlight.
Independent researchers digging through the newly uploaded archives on the official portal spotted an unmistakable anomaly in a video catalogued as NAG UAP 1 JUN 20.
The abbreviation UAP stands for Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena, which is the modern scientific and military term used instead of UFO to describe unexplained objects or lights tracked in the air, underwater, or in space.
The official military file displays a nearly identical, upright white shape moving through the air with the exact same unnatural posture.
What was once mocked as a digital hoax is now officially classified as a genuine aerial mystery, forcing scientists to take another look at the decade-old phenomenon.
What makes the resurgence of this footage so compelling to the scientific community is the precise nature of the object’s flight path.
The military file, which draws parallels to another civilian sighting from Sequoia National Park, shows an object that completely defies standard aviation mechanics, which is the science behind how aircraft design, engineering, and structures allow them to operate safely.
It does not possess visible wings, rotors, or propulsion exhaust, which is the forceful stream of gases or fuel expelled from an engine to push a vehicle forward.
This lacks any signature belonging to traditional aircraft, helicopters, or commercial drones, ruling them out completely.
Furthermore, the object maintains a rigid vertical alignment, which means it is locked in a perfectly upright, straight up and down position.
The core of the mystery comes down to two completely separate events that look like mirror images of each other.
The first occurred in September 2015, when civilians in Los Angeles filmed a bizarre, puffy white shape that the internet nicknamed the marshmallow man.
The second occurred five years later on June 1, 2020, when a military tracking sensor captured an identical silhouette flying over the Middle East.
Even though these two objects look like the exact same entity, they are separate encounters recorded half a decade and thousands of miles apart, suggesting that this strange shape is a repeating phenomenon rather than a one-off event.
The earlier 2015 sighting over Sequoia National Park captured an identical white, amorphous silhouette that internet sleuths famously dubbed the Sequoia alien.
Both profiles show an irregular, humanoid form that appears to hover with a single leg-like extension.
While typical weather balloons drift, rotate, and expand as atmospheric pressure changes, this white silhouette moves with a highly fluid motion that looks like it is walking or floating upright in the air.
The Department of War has officially labeled the footage as unresolved. This means that advanced sensory data, or information collected by high-tech equipment like military radar, optical cameras, and infrared heat sensors, and engineering reviews could not match the object to any known terrestrial.
While the online community is focused on the humanoid shape, atmospheric scientists caution against leaping to extraterrestrial conclusions.
Analysts point to pareidolia, a well-documented neurological phenomenon, which is a hardwired brain trick or psychological tendency where the human mind naturally forces familiar patterns, like faces or bodies, onto completely random or ambiguous shapes.
When low-resolution military footage is heavily magnified, the naturally occurring pixelation, which is the grainy blurring that happens when digital image blocks become visible to the eye, can easily create the illusion of limbs or a distinct torso.
However, even if the humanoid appearance is a trick of light and shadow, the tracking data remains a genuine scientific anomaly.
If these two distinct objects spotted five years apart, first in 2015 and then again in 2020, are merely stray balloons, their ability to maintain absolute structural stability against high-altitude crosswinds without tumbling remains completely unexplained.
Standard airborne debris or atmospheric balloons typically distort or rotate wildly when subjected to changing high-altitude wind vectors.
By contrast, the military thermal tracking footage from June 1, 2020, confirms that the object maintained its rigid structural profile throughout its flight.
A viral 2015 UFO mystery is back. Newly unsealed military files from the US Department of War show a floating, upright silhouette that looks identical to the infamous marshmallow man sighting from a decade ago, and officials have marked it as unresolved. (Photo: X/@JackDangerLIVE)Rather than drifting passively with the wind, the object executed controlled, slow rotations on its axis while holding its precise shape, directly challenging the conventional civilian debris hypothesis.
The civilian debris hypothesis is the theory that an unexplained aerial object is actually just an ordinary, man-made item like a stray helium balloon or party decoration drifting through the sky.
As the disclosure initiative prepares its third wave of digital disclosures, the focus remains on gathering hard empirical data, or verifiable evidence obtained through direct experimentation or scientific measurement, to determine whether the skies are hosting advanced domestic technology, foreign surveillance systems, or something else entirely.
An unusual optical illusion appears on the Moon

On the night of May 23–24, two Latin letters were visible along the terminator line, created by the interplay of light and shadow.
Source: Space Engine
People on Earth are fortunate to be able to observe the Moon, which never looks exactly the same two nights in a row. As our moon rotates, the angle at which sunlight hits its surface is constantly changing. This causes the light to dynamically “run” across the landscape, altering the length and shape of the shadows cast by deep craters, fissures, and high mountain ranges.
Since the Moon has no atmosphere to scatter light, the boundary between light and darkness there is extremely sharp. This stark contrast creates ideal conditions for the formation of illusions. Thanks to the psychological phenomenon of pareidolia, our brain is naturally inclined to seek out familiar images and symbols in chaotic patterns. This is precisely how the light-and-shadow effect arises, when brightly lit peaks against a backdrop of dark, unlit valleys suddenly form distinct, recognizable shapes.
The locations of the letters X and V on the Moon’s surface
The phenomenon of letters appearing on the Moon is quite fleeting. The lunar “X” and “V” were most clearly visible over the weekend. Both letters reached their maximum visual prominence on May 23 and remained clearly visible until the early hours of May 24. They appeared near the terminator—the line separating the lunar day and night. It is along this boundary that the sun’s rays glide at a very low angle, illuminating only the highest points.
The letter “V” shone brightly near the terminator line, situated between the lunar seas Sinus Medii and Mare Vaporum, approximately 10° above the lunar equator. This shape, which perfectly resembles the Latin letter, appears where light is successfully reflected off the high rims of the Ucart crater, blending harmoniously with the glare from nearby terrain features and smaller impact sites.

At a point located approximately 25° south of the equator, on the edge of the light, the famous lunar “X” flashed brightly against the deep darkness. This gigantic symbol is formed by a unique combination of circumstances, when sunlight illuminates only the jagged, rugged rims of three neighboring craters—Purbach, Blanchinus and La Caille.

While their high outer walls are already catching the first rays of light, the deep bottoms of the craters are still shrouded in the black darkness of night. From a distance, it looks like a bright, distinct cross, mysteriously floating in the void.
Earlier, we explained how the Moon was formed and why it is so different from Earth.
Pentagon UFO Files Add CIA Report on Kazakhstan’s Sary Shagan Range
BY K Krombie

On May 22, the Pentagon released the second tranche of U.S. Department of War records on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), the official term now often used for what are commonly called UFOs, through the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters, known as PURSUE.
The first batch, published on May 8, included a 1994 State Department cable about a Tajik Air crew’s report of an unidentified object over Kazakhstan.
The new PURSUE release includes a CIA intelligence report describing a 1973 sighting at the Soviet Union’s Sary Shagan weapons testing range in Kazakhstan. The report itself is not new to the public record. The CIA first released it in 1978 in a heavily redacted version, leaving the brief UAP account as the only section that remained substantially readable. A fuller copy was cleared for release in the agency’s December 19, 2019 response to a Mandatory Declassification Review request filed by John Greenewald, founder of The Black Vault, a website that publishes declassified U.S. government records obtained through public-records requests.
Much of the document deals with missile systems and warhead handling. It also refers to “rumored laser research” and includes a brief account of what the report calls an “unidentified phenomenon.”
The CIA describes the source as a “former Soviet citizen who served…,” with the rest of the line obscured. Given the report’s detailed references to Sary Shagan sites and facility layouts, the file appears to rely on someone with firsthand knowledge of the range, though the released copy does not clarify the nature of the source’s connection to it.
According to the report, on “one evening in late summer 1973,” the source stepped outside at Site 7 during a Canada-USSR sports broadcast and saw “an unidentified sharp (bright) green circular object or mass in the sky.” The object was west of the site at an estimated 70-degree angle, though its altitude was “undeterminable.”
After 10 to 15 seconds, the “green circle widened” and “several green concentric circles formed around the mass.” There was no sound, and the object disappeared within minutes.
Sary Shagan, near Lake Balkhash in central Kazakhstan, was established by the Soviet Union in 1956 for anti-ballistic missile testing and was the site of what is widely described as the world’s first successful interception of a ballistic missile warhead on March 4, 1961. Russia still leases parts of the range, while Kazakhstan controls other areas.
The file also refers to the System-75, or SA-2, a Soviet surface-to-air missile system, and to the System-300/Aldan, which a CIA field comment identifies as the ABM-1 Galosh anti-ballistic missile. “According to hearsay,” the report says, experiments involving laser weapons were being conducted somewhere at the range and “supposedly” involved “powerful antennas,” though the file gives “no further details.”
A better-known Soviet-era UAP case is the Petrozavodsk phenomenon of September 20, 1977, named for the city in Karelia in northwestern Russia, where the most widely publicized sighting was reported. Accounts of unusual lights also came from locations in northern Europe and further afield in the Soviet Union.
Unlike the green circles reported at Sary Shagan, a TASS dispatch preserved in the CIA Reading Room described a “huge star” that spread out over the city “in the form of a medusa,” sending fine rays downward. A version of a 1977 USSR Academy of Sciences report reproduced by AstroNet described the sighting in stages, from a small bright object inside a translucent shell to curved rays that gave it a jellyfish-like shape.
The incident drew official attention and, along with an increase in reports in 1977-1978, prompted the USSR Academy of Sciences to approve a research program on anomalous atmospheric phenomena. The program was code-named SETKA-AN, referring to the Academy of Sciences, and ran alongside SETKA-MO, its Ministry of Defense counterpart.
The phenomenon has often been linked to Kosmos 955, a Soviet satellite launched from Plesetsk in the early hours of September 20. However, later accounts painted a more complex picture and questioned whether a single high-altitude object could account for the reports.
A separate, much less firmly documented Kazakhstan-related case appears in Thread Three, a translated Russian UFO document file made available through 8NewsNow. The file is connected to George Knapp, a longtime UAP journalist and chief investigative reporter for KLAS-TV in Las Vegas, whose September 9, 2025, written testimony to a House Oversight hearing described Russian UFO records he said he obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defense and affiliated organizations during the 1990s.
In that testimony, Knapp said the committee’s Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets had received copies of the Russian documents. He also said some of the material had previously been shared with Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies and the Defense Intelligence Agency for translation and analysis. Knapp referred to a later program dubbed “Thread III,” which he described as an analysis effort that monitored UFO cases, news reports, and Western government interest.
The Thread Three file includes an account concerning Derzhavinsk, a town in northern Kazakhstan’s Akmola Region. According to the translation, the alleged incident occurred on June 27, 1979, when a group of Soviet Young Pioneers from the Berezka camp went for a walk to a mound identified as “Lisaya.” Members of the group, accompanied by an adult educator, noticed a flash near the forest edge and later encountered figures described in the translation as tall, dark, and slender, with large pink eyes. That evening, a teacher and a girl were said to have seen one of the figures near the campsite.
Older accounts of the same story trace its earlier circulation to a July 19, 1979 letter to Tekhnika Molodezhi and local follow-up reporting by Turgayskaya Nov’; those accounts give the date as June 26.
The Derzhavinsk account has not been verified through an official archive and should be treated as unconfirmed.
Ross Coulthart: Trump poised to reveal "we are not alone" on non-human intelligence
Ross Coulthart: Trump poised to reveal "we are not alone" on non-human intelligence
Marcus Walsh - Journalist

We are not alone.
Following President Trump's second release of UFO evidence last Friday, leading journalist Ross Coultart is anticipating a huge announcement very soon from the White House, potentially stating that “we are not alone.”
As Memorial Weekend descended on the US, President Trump set forth the second tranche of UFO evidence, keeping the space community deep in discussion.
And as experts lamented the “limited usefulness” for most of the videos, a lot of the focus was on when and if we might reach some sort of promised land of ultimate truth.
Ross Coulthart is not one to beat around the bush, having stated a week ago that President Trump has indeed been briefed about the Pentagon's secretive Crash Retrieval Program.
Speaking live on Newsnation, Coultart has followed this up by saying that it’s “likely that the president is going to reveal that we are not alone, that there are non-human intelligences engaging with this planet.”
And what’s more, Coultart nodded towards the fact that the White House has been “consulting with religious leaders,” which could well signal hesitation about how to truly prepare the global population.
This threads into recent comments by evangelists such as Perry Stone, who has spoken of “reptilian-looking creatures." No, your eyes were not deceiving you when you read that.
Coultart, not one to mince his words, suggested that the administration needs to show the public that “their finger is on the pulse,” before playing down any imminent threat of an alien invasion.
And it’s the very sense of “imminent” that had a few Redditors grappling.
“He never talks about real shit. He always talks about stuff that is about to happen,” while another remarked that he has used “imminent framing” before, while giving kudos to his journalistic pedigree.

Another thread on the r/UFO group showed the mixed sentiments among UFOers. One commenter listed a few of the spokespeople on the UFO train, like Anna Pualina Luna, Tim Burchett, and Eric Burlison (among others), and recommended: “let’s see what happens.”
@corneliusvanhouten meanwhile examined how “it’s crazy how the mainstream media and most of the general population are not picking up on this.

Well, if Coultart is right and a big statement is upon us, then more likely than not, the topic won’t be on the fringes for much longer.
China launches 'human artificial embryos' to space in bid to see whether reproduction is possible off-world
China's Tianzhou-10 mission just delivered embryo-like structures made from living stem cells to the Tiangong space station. Experiments could shed light on how radiation and microgravity affect human reproduction.

"Human artificial embryos" have been sent into space for the first time. The ground-breaking structures, made from living stem cells, arrived on China's Tiangong space station on May 11 and will soon return to Earth.
China has become the first nation to send "human artificial embryos" to space in a bid to better understand how microgravity and cosmic radiation may affect human reproduction. The results could have big implications for our ability to set up self-sustaining colonies on the moon and Mars.
The embryo-like structures, made from living human stem cells, arrived on the Tiangong ( "Heavenly Palace") space station in the early hours of May 11 as part of the Tianzhou-10 resupply mission, state officials revealed. The mission also delivered around 7 tons (6.3 metric tons) of cargo — including food, fuel, spacesuits and other scientific experiments — to the Chinese astronauts currently living on the station.
The Tianzhou-10 spacecraft, which is similar to the cargo ships that deliver supplies to the International Space Station (ISS), lifted off from Wenchang Space Launch Site around five hours earlier, at 8:14 p.m. EDT on May 10, Live Science's sister site Space.com reported.

The artificial embryos are made from collections of stem cells that can divide and multiply like a normal embryo but are unable to properly develop into a fetus or baby, allowing researchers to carry out their work with fewer ethical concerns.
"This is not a real human embryo and does not have the ability to develop into an individual," Leqian Yu, a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Sciences' (CAS) Institute of Zoology who is leading the experiment, said May 14 in a CAS statement. "However, it can serve as a model for studying early human development."
Two types of artificial embryos, representing different phases of embryonic development between 14 and 21 days after fertilization, were used in the experiment. The first is a peri-implantation model, which mimics the critical phase where an embryo attaches itself to the uterine wall. The second is a peri-gastrulation model, which replicates the point in early development when a single layer of cells reorganizes into distinct layers that will eventually form different tissues and organs.

The Tianzhou-10 mission delivered more than 200 individual items to the Tiangong Space Station, according to Space.com.

The embryos will be allowed to grow for five days before they are frozen and later returned to Earth for analysis. "The experiment is going very well," Yu said in the statement. (By now, the embryos have likely already been put on ice.)
As the embryos were developing in space, researchers in China grew and froze identical artificial embryos, which will serve as the control group for the experiment. "We hope that by comparing the development of space and ground samples, we can identify the factors affecting early human embryonic growth in the space environment, and address the risks and challenges humans may face during long-term space habitation," Yu said.
Similar experiments involving zebrafish embryos and mouse embryos were also launched on board Tianzhou-10.
The ability to reproduce in space will be crucial if humanity is to establish a permanent presence on the moon, Mars and other more distant worlds. However, several issues need to be overcome before this can happen, if it is even possible at all.

Experts have warned that as space tourism becomes more mainstream, non-astronauts will likely start having sex in space, which could lead to babies being conceived off-world.
Previous research has hinted that the high levels of radiation in space could damage developing embryos, while microgravity is also expected to be a major stumbling block.
Yu told state-run media that the artificial embryos "were brought to space to explore whether life, which has evolved under gravity for hundreds of millions of years, is affected by its sudden absence."

Studying the very early stages of embryonic development will be particularly important for determining the feasibility of natural reproduction under these conditions. It is "a critical window in early human development, during which the building blocks for future organs begin to form, and the entire body axis — which determines the head and the tail — is established," Yu told state-run media outlets.
A recent study also revealed that microgravity could disorient sperm cells, making it much less likely for egg fertilization to occur. And it's been known for a while that stem cells age much faster in space than they do on Earth, which could also be a serious issue.
Given these challenges, it may be necessary to turn to in vitro fertilization to help grow babies in space, which is an idea already being explored by several private space exploration companies.

Scientist gave shocking alien 'confession' about Area 51 before his death
A Lockheed Martin scientist who claimed to have top-secret clearance at Nevada's Area 51 gave a 'death confession' about aliens at the classified base.
Boyd Bushman sat down with independent aerospace engineer Mark Q Patterson shortly before he passed away at age 78 on August 17, 2014, where he revealed a stack of photographs he said were of extraterrestrials.
'They're approximately five feet four inches to five feet tall,' said Bushman, as he held an image of what he touted as an alien lifeform.
'One or two of them were around 230 years old, and we had at least 18 of them operating around the facility.'
He alleged that around 13 years prior to him giving the interview, he came into contact with a person connected to physicist Edward Teller, often referred to as the 'father of the hydrogen bomb,' who Bushman claimed remained involved with secret programs tied to Area 51 after J Robert Oppenheimer was removed from the facility.
According to Bushman, he stayed in regular contact with the head of the program and continued receiving updates about classified projects.
The engineer said he still held top-secret clearance but believed information hidden within the 'dark recesses of Area 51' should be revealed to the public.
The resurfaced video comes as the Trump administration released the first UFO disclosure files this month, with a second phase planned 'very soon.'

Boyd Bushman sat down with independent aerospace engineer Mark Q Patterson shortly before he passed away at age 78 on August 17, 2014, where he revealed a stack of photographs he said were of extraterrestrials
There is no publicly available evidence confirming Bushman’s claims about extraterrestrials or secret UFO programs at Area 51.
Skeptics have long questioned Bushman’s allegations, noting that photographs he presented as alien beings appeared similar to commercially available prop dolls sold online.
Bushman held dozens of patents tied to advanced aerospace and military technology during his decades-long career at Lockheed Martin and other defense contractors.
His inventions included systems for detecting missile exhaust plumes, reducing infrared signatures on aircraft engines, electromagnetic propulsion devices, laser-powered thrust systems and advanced target detection technology designed for military aircraft and missiles.
Several patents also focused on futuristic magnetic propulsion concepts, energy transfer systems and experimental aircraft technology, helping fuel later speculation surrounding his claims about secret government research and UFO reverse-engineering programs.
Bushman claimed that his people inside Area 51 sent him pictures of not only alien bodies, but also UFOs being held at the base, and claimed anti-gravity is one of several technologies being hidden by the government.
'This is a UFO that is ready to take off, and they informed me that it contains three elements: cobalt, germanium and gadolinium,' he said, holding a photograph up to the camera.
'I did not say metal once. Not only that, but these things pick up and fly using anti-gravity.

Bushman claimed that his people inside Area 51 sent him pictures of not only alien bodies, but also UFOs being held at the base, and claimed anti-gravity is one of several technologies being hidden by the government
'Here's another picture. In this case, the UFO is not turned on and ready to fly, so you only see the upper part of it. Generally, it's white on the underside when power is applied. Here's another one of the same type.
'These UFOs are 38 feet in diameter, and that was rather surprising to me.'
The scientist then claimed that there was a hidden underground shaft at Area 51, specifically designed for UFOs to land and take off.
Among other wild claims, Bushman said that the aliens kept at the base hailed from a planet 68 light-years away called Quintumnia, but that it takes them just 45 minutes to reach our planet.
Bushman showed what he claimed were several alien photographs, showing creatures with small heads full of veins, large eyes and feet with five toes that are 'joined together like a frog.'

Area 51, officially established in 1955, remained largely under the radar until 1989, when whistleblower Robert Lazar appeared on television.
He claimed he had worked at a hidden facility near Groom Lake, known as 'S-4,' reverse-engineering alien spacecraft, further cementing Area 51's place in UFO lore.
While Lazar's claims have been dismissed as a hoax, Bushman claimed that there were American citizens suited up at the base and working on UFOs 24 hours a day.
'There's been a total of 39 US citizens who have lost their lives trying to reverse engineer UFOs,' said Bushman.
'Last one I heard of was a year and a half ago, where we lost 19 lives in one test. They actually wanted to bring a line craft near the UFO, and the UFO defended itself.'

Four species of aliens recovered from crashed UFOs according to CIA scientist... here's what they look like
A former CIA scientist has claimed that there are several alien species the US government secretly knows about.
Dr Hal Puthoff, a physicist and electrical engineer who worked on the intelligence community's psychic spy and UFO research programs in the 1970s and 1980s, said people who have recovered crashed UFOs encountered 'at least four separate types' of life.
Those species have been previously discussed by physicist Dr Eric Davis, known for his work on top-secret Pentagon projects, who testified in Congress that 'Grays, Nordics, Insectoids, and Reptilians' are potential operators of unidentified craft.
Davis described these entities as humanoid, approximately human-sized, and possibly linked to classified reverse-engineering programs allegedly taking place around the world, which US officials described as a new Cold War.
Speaking on Steve Bartlett's The Diary of a CEO podcast last week, Puthoff said: 'There are at least four types. Four separate types. Now, I have not had direct access to that, but I believe the people I talked to. Four different types of life, at least.'
The Grays are the classic four-foot-tall creatures with large heads and enormous, almond-shaped black eyes, while Nordics are said to closely resemble extremely tall humans from Scandinavia, with blond hair, blue eyes and fair skin.
Reptilians may be the most infamous of the alien races mentioned, as this giant species has been alleged to look like serpents but walk like humans, and have the ability to shapeshift, sparking unproven claims from conspiracy theorists that these creatures regularly infiltrate human society.
Meanwhile, the Insectoids have been said to resemble giant mantis-like creatures with multiple limbs, an exoskeleton, mandibles and antennae.

The revelations came after the first wave of UFO files were disclosed on May 8
The revelations came after the first wave of UFO files were disclosed to the American people one week earlier.
Puthoff appeared on the May 14 podcast with filmmaker and director Dan Farah, who recently released the bombshell documentary The Age of Disclosure, which claimed that the US government has been covering up a massive UFO recovery operation since the 1940s.
Farah said during the interview: 'The people I've talked to, through the process of making the documentary, both on camera and off the record sources, and the people Hal's talked to over the decades have said that there have been dozens of recoveries of crashed craft in the US alone.'
'Dozens of craft of non-human origin that either crashed organically or caused a crash and then recovered,' the director added.
Farah's documentary interviewed a plethora of high-ranking government officials, military veterans and whistleblowers from the US intelligence community who revealed what they knew about the global effort to reverse engineer advanced technology left behind by these four races.
This included testimony from physicist Davis, a colleague of Puthoff's who previously revealed what he knew about the four alien races during a special meeting on Capitol Hill in May last year.
Davis stunned those at the hearing by revealing detailed descriptions of the species, which he said were the alleged operators of unidentified craft over the US.
Last year, Davis told members of Congress: 'There are typically multiple species people are familiar with.

Descriptions from CIA reports and alleged UFO witnesses match decades-long descriptions of a claimed race of beings called 'the Grays,' the popular alien depiction in the mid-1960s

Respected scientist Eric Davis told Congress last year that there are four alien species piloting craft in our skies, including Nordics (left) and Reptilians
'The greys, the Nordics... People are talking about reptilians and insectoids. It's not that they're reptilian or insectoid. It's that they resemble, to the percipient, a reptile or insect-type humanoid. Because they have a head, and four limbs, and a torso.'
The concept of Grays quickly became the popular alien depiction in the mid-1960s, largely due to the famous Betty and Barney Hill abduction case.
The New Hampshire couple described being taken by small humanoids with smooth gray skin, large black almond-shaped eyes, and lacking typical human features like noses or ears.
The Nordics, the tall Scandinavian-like aliens, have often been linked to the Pleiades star cluster, a region 440 light-years (or 2.6 trillion miles) from Earth.
Those who have allegedly contacted these entities, or were aware of government agencies that did, have said the Nordics possessed advanced technology and had peaceful intentions. They have been featured in UFO lore since the 1950s.
Insectoids, meanwhile, have been part of alien mythology since at least the early 1900s, with roots tracing back to Georges Melies' 1902 film A Trip to the Moon.
These beings have been compared to six-foot-tall versions of Earth's praying mantis, and those who have claimed to see these creatures alleged that the Insectoids were a telepathic race, capable of sending messages directly to the human mind.
As for the Reptilian theory, there have been wild claims that the shape-shifting aliens secretly control Earth, a conspiracy theory popularized by David Icke in the late 20th century.
Interestingly, similar half-human, half-serpent figures appear in ancient South and Southeast Asian myths, such as the Naga.
