How Jellyfish Can ‘Miraculously’ Heal Without Scars Has Long Remained a Mystery—Scientists Now Know Their Secret
A jellyfishcan close awoundinreal time, without stitches, scabs, orscars, a fascinating—and borderline miraculous—healing ability that has long perplexed scientists.
Now, with colleagues Maxwell Sassaman and Manjula P. Mony, she has mapped the steps of this process and explored its broader significance.
A Flower That Never Stops Blooming
The free-swimming medusa most people picture when they hear “jellyfish” is only one phase of Clytia‘s life. It spends most of its life as a polyp colony attached to rocks, docks, or leaves, and it periodically produces medusae, much like a shrub produces flowers. While medusae live for only a few months, the polyp colonies can persist for much longer.
Clytia medusae are known for their ability to heal quickly. Small wounds close in minutes, and even larger injuries seal in under an hour, all without forming scar tissue. Malamy notes that this type of healing is similar to the scar-free repair seen in embryos.
Since Clytia are transparent, heal rapidly, and lack the immune-mediated inflammation that complicates wound healing in mammals, they serve as an excellent model organism. Scientists can watch epithelial cells close wounds in real time, without interference from scarring or immune reactions. The mechanisms uncovered in Clytia are likely relevant across many animals.
“A lot of the processes that we see in Clytia‘s wound healing are really similar to what you see in all other systems, including mammalian systems,” Malamy explains. “When you’re staring at these epithelial cells, you wouldn’t know this was a jellyfish.”
Two Structures, One Decision Tree
Epithelial cells form the surfaces of the body, including skin, the gut, and internal membranes, and must repair themselves after injury. Malamy previously described Clytia’s wound repair in 2017 and 2018. The new study addresses a longstanding question in epithelial wound healing: do wounds close by cells moving over the gap, or by an actin cable contracting to seal it? The findings show that both mechanisms operate in a specific sequence, with the basement membrane beneath the cells coordinating the transition between them.
The initial response involves lamellipodia, actin-rich extensions that move across the basement membrane, the protein layer beneath all epithelial tissues. These structures pull their parent cells forward to close the wound. Malamy’s team observed lamellipodia forming even in very small wounds within a single cell, a previously undocumented detail.
After the lamellipodia advance, an actomyosin cable forms and contracts after it covers the basement membrane. If damage or debris blocks the membrane, the cable closes the wound and removes debris that lamellipodia cannot cross.
For larger wounds, a third response occurs. When the gap is too wide for lamellipodia to bridge, regardless of how far the cells extend, the entire epithelial sheet lifts and migrates as a unit. Once lamellipodia from opposing edges meet, the same closing sequence resumes.
“This is a truly elegant mechanism where the system can rapidly adapt to heal all the kinds of wounds that might occur in nature,” Malamy says.
What’s Still Unrepaired
If epithelial repair mechanisms are conserved across animal evolution, as current evidence suggests, studies of jellyfish could reveal wound-healing processes that inflammation and scar formation obscure in mammals, making those processes difficult to observe directly.
Researchers have not yet fully understood the basement membrane, which coordinates these processes, and it remains the least understood aspect of wound repair. Scientists still do not know how organisms repair the basement membrane itself.
“It’s great that you can heal a wound by dragging the cells over it,” Malamy says, “but at some point, a damaged basement membrane has to get fixed.” That’s her next target.

Every year, more than 5,000 tons of material with cosmic origins lands on Earth’s surface, with as much as 15,000 tons of this “space dust” making its way into the atmosphere but vaporizing during reentry.
The resulting rain of micrometeorites that reaches our planet consists mostly of tiny objects anywhere from 30 to 200 micrometers in size, based on past studies. But what are the origins of these large volumes of material that accumulate over time as they shower the Earth throughout the year?
According to new research, evidence for one potential source of this cosmic debris has now been found: it could be coming from unidentified near-Earth objects.
Space Dust with Unknown Origins
The problem with tracing the origins of space dust is that most of it that makes its way into Earth’s atmosphere doesn’t survive the intense conditions of atmospheric entry, and those tiny bits that do—known as cosmic spherules—are reshaped as they melt from the friction they encounter while falling.
Although their original mineral structure is compromised as well as their shape, there are a few isotopes—namely oxygen—that these spherules maintain that scientists can use to help trace their origins. Based on their chemical “fingerprints,” cosmic spherules are placed into different groups by planetary scientists, with many being able to be traced back to known varieties of meteorites and other sources.

Among these groups, around ten percent fall into a category possessing unusually small quantities of the isotope oxygen-16. This category, known as Group 4, doesn’t appear to match any known meteorite group—the implication, therefore, is that some of this cosmic debris may originate from an unidentified variety of near-Earth objects.
New Clues to the Origins of Uncorrelated Space Dust
Now, according to new research by Matthias Van Ginneken and colleagues, there are at least some ways that the origins of these spherules can be determined, one of which involves their orbital parameters.
In one case, the team writes in a recent study published in Science Advances, “the mineralogical and textural properties of a subset of cosmic spherules do provide information on the orbital parameters of their precursors, including eccentricity and encounter velocity.”
This group of materials, which is dubbed “CumPo” based on its material consistency of cumulate olivine porphyritic, is “characterized by clustered olivine phenocrysts that increase in size from one side of the spherule to the other,” the team writes.

In short, this unique class of spherules points to equally unique orbital characteristics that may be associated with what the research team surmises could be atypical types of near-Earth objects, or NEOs, that could be near enough to our planet to provide a likely source.
A particular clue offered by these objects is that some of them may have undergone unusually high entry speeds, as evidenced by their surface texture. One factor that could potentially account for this is that they may have entered Earth’s atmosphere at angles consistent with objects possessing high orbital eccentricity.
More Clues from Antarctica
As with past studies, researchers were able to retrieve several samples of these CumPo cosmic spherules from Antarctica, which provides a pristine environment that helps to facilitate their discovery and collection. However, another source location had been far less remote: urban rooftops, where a large amount of cosmic dust lands every year.
With the aid of electron microscopy and microprobe chemistry studies, Ginneken and colleagues examined the mineralogy, chemistry, and textures of these spherules, as well as the oxygen isotopes they contained.
What they found indicated an entirely new subset of spherules, which possess significant amounts of cumulate olivine rich in sulfur, garnering the name “SCumPo.” This unique new class of samples has links to the “Group 4” class and their minimal inclusion of oxygen-16. Other unusual similarities they possess are an overall absence of magnetite and a low presence of nickel in their olivine crystals, paired with an abundance of iron-nickel sulfur and a significant amount of sulfur present within glasses produced from vitrification.
Intriguingly, some spherules appeared to show a combination of signatures that were both poor in oxygen-16 in some areas, while rich in the isotope in others. This suggests that these cosmic materials had likely been mixed from two separate original sources, since such conditions could not be otherwise explained through natural processes.
“We interpret this as strong evidence that the SCumPo precursors were composite materials containing at least two different components,” the team writes in their study. Then, by running numerical simulations of crystal settling to help determine the likely entry speeds of these materials, and thereby their eccentricities while in orbit, the team determined that the settling of olivine is most consistent with entry speeds of as much as 17 kilometers per second, and likely no more than 14 kilometers per second—speeds that would be consistent with NEOs, as opposed to asteroids originating from the main-belt.
Based on their findings, the team believes that unsampled meteorites from the CM, CO, and CY classifications of carbonaceous chondrites—a group of primitive, carbon-rich meteorites containing some of the oldest materials in our Solar System—are the likely sources for these cosmic materials.
“Given that we have linked their composition to the CM-CO-CY clan of carbonaceous chondrites, it is plausible that their parent body was a primitive carbonaceous asteroid that migrated onto an Earth-crossing orbit—attaining comet-like orbital parameters,” the team writes.
“For instance, one might consider the disrupted fragments of a thermally altered but water-bearing asteroid (like the CY group) that evolved into near-Earth space,” they add.
Although still only inferred from their studies, the team suggests the existence of a hypothetical new variety of NEOs based on the samples they studied, which are unlike any variety of meteorites currently known on Earth.
“These findings point to a previously unsampled, primitive, sulfide-rich CY-like near-Earth asteroid, which represents a ‘missing’ meteorite parent body that contributes distinctive 16O-poor cosmic dust to Earth,” the team writes, noting that any future confirmation of the existence of this unknown class of meteorites would represent “a pivotal discovery.”
The team’s new paper, “16O poor cosmic spherules from near-Earth CY chondrite asteroids,” appeared in Science Advances.

Scientists have managed to track record-small pieces of “space debris” in the space around Earth. Their diameter is only 5 cm. Now they are considering how many such objects may actually exist in the space around us and what this could lead to.
In a new study published in the Journal of the Astronautical Sciences, scientists from the University of Warwick led an international team that detected some of the faintest debris ever observed in geosynchronous orbit, finding fragments as small as 5 centimeters, or 2 inches, and obtaining valuable data to characterize their behavior. This was reported by phys.org.
“Space debris fragments can move very quickly relative to one another — at speeds of up to several kilometers per second,” explained the study’s lead author, Dr. James Blake, a research fellow at the University of Warwick’s Centre for Space Domain Awareness. “The energy involved is extremely high, and even small debris can cause significant damage to very expensive satellites, so even small objects matter a great deal.”
The Growing Problem of Space Debris: A History of Earth's Orbit
Geosynchronous orbit is a special position at an altitude of approximately 36,000 kilometers, or 22,400 miles, above Earth’s equator, allowing an object to move in step with our planet’s rotation. Satellites operating in the unique geostationary belt provide a wide range of services, from communications and broadcasting to weather and environmental monitoring.
Scientists have determined that debris near the geostationary belt is of particular concern. This is a very distant region located far above Earth’s atmosphere, so small objects are usually extremely faint and difficult to detect, while any debris that forms there will remain in place for an indefinite period.
“Space debris in geosynchronous orbit is a potential minefield,” added co-author of the paper and space consultant Dr. Stuart Eves of SJE Space Ltd. “No sensible person would enter a terrestrial minefield without a mine detector. Likewise, no sensible person should launch a satellite into geosynchronous orbit without a proper survey for space debris.”

Detecting Faint Objects Using “Blind Stacking”
Studies of space debris in geostationary orbit, or GEO, usually focus on the region around the main orbit in order to search for drifting abandoned satellites and uncontrolled fragments. The team of scientists reanalyzed an archival dataset from a previous GEO space-debris survey carried out with the 2.54-meter, or 8.3-foot, Isaac Newton Telescope, or INT, on the island of La Palma in the Canary Islands.
By applying newly developed image-processing algorithms, the team was able to detect very faint objects, including some of the faintest debris ever found, and characterize their behavior by analyzing light curves. They found that many of the objects are tumbling in space.
To find these faint objects, the team used a “blind stacking” technique, which revealed 25 objects that had not been noticed during the original analysis. As Dr. Ben Cook, a research fellow at the University of Warwick, explains: “Blind stacking is a very powerful technique for pushing the sensitivity limit of astronomical datasets. It involves testing many potential trajectories in a sequence of images along which hidden objects may be moving, and stacking the images to bring those objects above the noise level. This project demonstrates a successful practical application of the method — any dataset containing objects moving linearly is suitable for its use.”

Most Objects Were Not Listed in Catalogs
Taking the new discoveries into account, almost 80% of the faint objects detected in this study had not previously been documented, meaning they do not appear in publicly available catalogs. This highlights the need for scientifically grounded surveys. The team now plans to expand the scope of its search using observational data from other telescopes around the world.
Professor Will Felin, senior principal scientist at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory in the United Kingdom, said: “After carrying out the initial study, the team sought to expand its geographic coverage. This was achieved by using large telescopes in Australia and Japan in cooperation with the Australian National University and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, or JAXA, which contributed their considerable technical expertise to the project. This truly underscores the importance of multinational cooperation in addressing global problems such as space-domain monitoring, as well as the benefits of using the United Kingdom’s world-class academic expertise for the benefit of UK defense.”
The researchers conclude that the number of orbital slots in the geostationary belt is limited, so it is important to know how much debris is there, how it behaves, and what risks it poses to operational satellites. Studies of faint debris help build a clearer picture of the situation.

Luis Elizondo claims unreleased Moon photos show apparent monolithic structures with right-angle cuts
He also describes military encounters with mysterious colored orbs that he says may be autonomous surveillance platforms.
The interview offers no new public evidence, with many claims resting on photographs and reports that have yet to be released.
Reddit's UFO community reacted with skepticism, with many demanding proof instead of more promises of disclosure.
Key Takeaways by nexos.ai, reviewed by Cybernews staff.
Known as one of the more outspoken UFO whistleblowers, Luis Elizondo took an interesting turn this week, claiming that unreleased Moon photos show apparent monolithic structures with right-angle cuts, and that these photos could be released soon.
By “monolithic,” Elizondo means an artificial construct of a single block that "appears to be" artificial.
The interview expanded into various military encounters with green, red, and blue orbs, largely recounting cases reported to the Pentagon's former Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP).
Elizondo claims the orbs could be surveillance systems, or even weapons, explaining that they may be autonomous reconnaissance or collection platforms.
He also broadly suggested that this kind of orb-sighting had been going on globally for decades.
“Appears to be” is not definite proof
Elizondo’s moon claim dominated the interview because it suggests the presence of artificial-looking structures, which hasn’t been a typical feature of recent UFO whistleblower evidence.
This focus shifts from blurry UAP footage to alleged unreleased government photographs, and time will tell whether Elizondo is accurate in his claims.
Regarding the orbs he spoke of, Elizondo seemed deliberately cautious in his wording throughout, using "appears to be" rather than definitive proof.
“Our CIA, our DIA, our NSA have all concluded that these things are very real and in some cases may pose a potential threat."
These broad theories about surveillance platforms and humanity's limited understanding of reality caused commotion in the UFO community.
“An announcement about an announcement”
A so-called UFO whistleblower for nine years now, following his resignation as a US Army counterintelligence special agent due to excessive secrecy in the Pentagon's concealment of evidence, Elizondo accrued credibility as a leading spokesperson against the very program he worked on.
The Cybernews community is talking about this. Be a part of the conversation.
But with talks on monolithic structures, the Reddit UFO community was quite aghast.
“This is easily the most absurd [claim],” one user said, before adding that it was “stuff that really discredits him.
Absurd. Screenshot from Reddit.
Another UFO follower posted, “It’s always an announcement about an announcement,” before requesting, “Just release a photo and be done with it.”
Be done with it. Screenshot from Reddit.
Previously, Elizondo has spoken of a secret government program that possesses retrieved alien craft, citing that UAPs can disable nuclear missiles, as well as physically radiate troops. His esoteric style divides opinion in the community as not everyone is comfortable in stomaching some of his more wild claims.
Huge UFO cloaked becomes visible as "hole" in low cloud ceiling seen across Australia, July 8, 2026, UAP Sighting News.
You can actually see with the close up below, that this is a whole in the cloud, not a cloud shaped like a UFO, instead its a UFO that pushed aside the clouds, making a hole in the shape of the UFO itself, even its bottom hull of the ship still has some cloud there.
Date of sighting: July 8, 2026
Location of sighting: Victor Harbor, South Australia
Wow! I really took a double and third look at this one, ran it through an ai analyzer and it come out clean...its real. Not only that, but many people who saw the Facebook post actually responded with similar photos of the exact same UFO but at different locations and different times of the day.
What we are seeing here is a hole in the cloud ceiling where a huge half mile disk UFO lowers down from above and pushes the clouds away from it. Its not a theory, its be documented many times, for instance, many big airline pilots and air traffic controllers saw a disk over O'Hare airport back in Nov 7, 2006 and guess what? It was seven to ten meters in diameter, it hovered over a location above where the airline jets park for passengers to board. It was seen for 15 minutes, not moving, just watching, letting others watch it. The suddenly it shot upward at an angle and passed through the cloud ceiling which was very low that day. Its propulsion system created a hole gap in the clouds visible from the ground for over 15 minutes...but part of me thinks, it was cloaked and hiding in that gap.
UFOs when cloaked create holes that make them visible...at least the outline of the sides and lower bottom of the craft.
Bob Lazar and Travis Walton Compare Their Most Controversial UFO Experiences
When two of the most recognizable names in UFO history sit down together, the result is almost guaranteed to spark debate. Bob Lazar and Travis Walton have spent decades at the center of one of the world’s most controversial subjects, yet their experiences could hardly be more different. One claims to have worked on reverse-engineered extraterrestrial technology inside a secret government facility, while the other became famous after reporting an alleged alien abduction that remains one of the most discussed cases in UFO literature.
In this fascinating conversation, the pair examine old sketches, documents, artistic recreations, and personal memories, searching for similarities between their experiences rather than trying to convince skeptics. Instead of making dramatic new claims, much of the interview revolves around surprisingly detailed observations and thoughtful questions.
Two Different Stories, One Shared Curiosity
Bob Lazar’s story has largely focused on technology. He describes studying an advanced craft at a classified site commonly associated with Area 51, paying particular attention to propulsion systems, unusual materials, and engineering concepts that appeared to defy modern physics.
Travis Walton’s account, on the other hand, centers on an intensely personal experience. According to Walton, he regained consciousness inside an unfamiliar craft after a mysterious incident in the Arizona forest in 1975. His recollections involve strange beings, unusual medical procedures, unfamiliar rooms, and overwhelming confusion rather than scientific investigation.
Although both men have spent years defending their accounts, the interview is notable because neither attempts to dominate the discussion. Instead, each listens carefully to the other’s memories, comparing specific details.
Comparing the Appearance of the Craft
One of the most interesting parts of the discussion focuses on the appearance of the alleged craft.
Walton recalls a smooth metallic object with a polished chrome-like exterior that reflected its surroundings. Because he only viewed part of the object while under extreme stress, he openly admits he cannot be certain of its complete shape. It may have been disc-shaped, elongated, or something entirely different.
Lazar notes that public perception has long associated UFOs with flying saucers, but he argues that reports now include many different designs, including the now-famous “Tic Tac” shaped objects reported by military personnel.
Rather than insisting on identical descriptions, both acknowledge that reported UFO shapes vary significantly, leaving open several possibilities. Different civilizations, evolving technologies, or simply incomplete eyewitness observations could all explain the differences.
Strange Technology Beyond Human Understanding
Technology remains Lazar’s strongest area of interest.
During the conversation, he repeatedly returns to questions about lighting, propulsion, energy emissions, and interior design. Walton remembers soft yellowish illumination that did not appear to come from conventional light fixtures. He also describes unusual vibrations that he could feel throughout his body, including extremely low-frequency sounds and higher-frequency sensations that seemed almost physical rather than audible.
One particularly intriguing memory involves a chair surrounded by what appeared to be a moving star field. Walton claims the stars only became visible while he was near or sitting in the chair. Instead of appearing on a screen, the star pattern seemed to surround him completely, reacting to movement while maintaining the relative position of the stars themselves.
Lazar immediately questions whether this represented a navigation system, a real-time external view, or some type of astronomical map. Walton admits he was too frightened to investigate carefully, focusing instead on finding an escape.
Comparing the Reported Beings
Another significant portion of the interview explores the appearance of the entities Walton says he encountered.
Unlike the stereotypical “black-eyed alien” often portrayed in popular culture, Walton describes beings with visible pupils and facial features. He speculates that their unusually large eyes may have required some form of biological or artificial protection against brighter light, almost like built-in contact lenses or protective filters.
The conversation also explores an unusual aspect of Walton’s account: after encountering smaller beings, he later reported meeting individuals who appeared almost completely human.
Walton suggests these human-like figures may have been deliberately introduced because the earlier entities had failed to calm him. Whether they represented another species, genetically engineered beings, or something else entirely remains unanswered.
Lazar finds this especially interesting, noting that the presence of multiple types of beings raises more questions than answers.
Communication Without Words
One of the more philosophical moments comes when the discussion turns to communication.
Walton reports that the entities never appeared to speak verbally and showed little facial expression. Lazar proposes an intriguing possibility: if a civilization relied primarily on telepathic communication, facial expressions might become largely unnecessary over thousands or even millions of years of evolution.
While entirely speculative, the idea demonstrates how both men often attempt to explain extraordinary claims through logical reasoning rather than sensational storytelling.
Revisiting Older UFO Cases
The interview also includes the discovery of documents describing historical UFO encounters that allegedly share similarities with Walton’s experience.
Neither Lazar nor Walton claims expertise on every reported abduction case. In fact, both openly admit they have not extensively studied much of UFO history.
Instead of presenting these historical reports as proof, they simply acknowledge recurring themes that appear across decades of eyewitness accounts, including descriptions of small humanoid beings, unusual interiors, bright lighting, and unexplained medical examinations.
Whether these similarities indicate genuine patterns or simply reflect common cultural influences remains one of the central questions surrounding UFO research.
A Surprisingly Grounded Conversation
Despite the extraordinary subject matter, the interview is remarkably calm.
Lazar frequently asks practical questions about engineering details, while Walton consistently admits the limitations of his memory. He repeatedly explains that fear prevented him from carefully observing many aspects of the environment, an admission that adds nuance rather than certainty to his account.
Neither man claims to possess definitive answers about extraterrestrial life. Instead, the conversation highlights how much remains unknown, even to individuals whose stories have become deeply embedded in UFO history.
Why This Conversation Matters
Whether readers believe their accounts or remain highly skeptical, the interview offers an unusual opportunity to compare two of the most famous UFO witnesses directly.
Rather than focusing on conspiracy theories or dramatic revelations, the discussion examines memory, perception, technology, and recurring patterns found across decades of reported encounters. It serves as a reminder that the UFO phenomenon continues to generate questions that span psychology, aerospace engineering, government secrecy, and the possibility of intelligent life beyond Earth.
For believers, the conversation reinforces long-held narratives about advanced technology and unexplained encounters. For skeptics, it provides valuable insight into how extraordinary eyewitness accounts are remembered, interpreted, and discussed many years after the original events.
Regardless of where one stands, the exchange between Bob Lazar and Travis Walton remains one of the more thoughtful and detailed conversations ever recorded between two individuals whose stories continue to shape the modern UFO debate.

A 'workbook' created by a secret US Army program claimed to have developed a simple five-step method of supercharging the human body.
Created by the Monroe Institute of Applied Sciences in Virginia in 1977, the 21-page document taught advanced mental skills for expanding awareness, remote perception, problem-solving, relieving pain and building energy.
However, on page 14 of the workbook, which was declassified and released by the CIA in 2003, users were taught how to 'charge the body from great speed and strength' with five easy steps.
Before tackling an intense activity such as lifting a heavy object or sprinting, the manual instructed users to close their eyes for a moment. Then, take a deep breath in.
While breathing in, the workbook said to mentally focus on two things at once: the exact physical action to be done and the 'strong energy of red' filling the body.
As the person breathes out, they open their eyes and immediately do the action – allegedly giving them a noticeable physical boost and better reflexes.
The classified workbook said: 'You will be able immediately to perform the physical act you have pictured – with far greater strength, much more rapidly and with smooth total coordination of your physical body.'
The meditation training was part of a series of secret programs funded by the CIA from roughly 1972 to 1995, which explored methods of expanding consciousness and human potential for spies and special ops teams.
A secret workbook from 1977 contained instructions on how people could access extra strength and speed with the power of their minds
The Monroe Institute, which created the program, provided various instructions on how to relieve pain, increase focus and engage in a psychic skill called remote viewing
The Monroe Institute is a private research group dedicated to the exploration of human consciousness, which still exists today.
Their workbook was studied and used by the US Army’s Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) in various experiments during the Cold War.
These instructions were not for everyday people, and the workbook even warned against anyone attempting the exercises without first completing 'the first Session of the Gateway Program'.
The Gateway Program used special sound technology, called Hemi-Sync, developed by the institute's founder, Robert Monroe.
These sounds helped synchronize the left and right sides of the human brain in order to reach a relaxed but highly focused mental state.
Once a government spy or another operative properly synced up their mind using these sound waves, they would allegedly be able to simply think about their objective and then have the ability to complete the task.
One example was the workbook's claim that repeating the number 55515 in your mind could reduce the pain signals to a specific part of the body you were looking at.
However, for those who did not have the training, the workbook claimed: 'The attempted application by others may result in undesirable and uncontrolled effects detrimental to any such unauthorized user.'
Robert Monroe created the audio frequencies that are at the heart of his Hemi-Sync's 'audio-guidance' tech, which he claimed synchronizes the hemispheres of the brain
Drafted by the Monroe Institute of Applied Sciences in 1977, the 'Gateway' workbook was a training aid supplied to US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM)
While pain relief and strength building were among the everyday applications the program was used for, this workbook was also tied to the CIA's most secretive operations, including the training of so-called 'psychic spies.'
Known as the Stargate Project, the CIA conducted experiments with individuals who claimed they could perceive information about distant objects, events or people – a process known as 'remote viewing.'
The mind-bending official Pentagon study was commissioned to better understand what officials' Army intelligence colleagues were doing by sending personnel to a small institute in Charlottesville, Virginia - The Monroe Institute - to study the group's 'Gateway Experience'
There have been claims by these test subjects, including respected scientists and members of the US Army, that they successfully tracked down hostages and drug lords, saw secret Soviet warships from thousands of miles away and even remotely viewed non-human beings living on the moon.
Confirming the top-secret project existed, the 1977 workbook had a special section entitled 'To Perceive Distant Events and People (Remote Viewing),' with specific instructions on how trained operatives needed to clear their minds to achieve it.
'With practice, this becomes an excellent method for distant viewing and for sending messages to another person,' the workbook explained.
Other skills the declassified training manual claimed it could teach users included balancing your emotional state, reaching a mental state of hyper awareness, entering a restful sleep on command and healing the body simply by mentally visualizing the nerves, muscles and organs and recharging them with healing energy.

The humanoid robot designed 'for a lifetime': China reveals creepy bots that look and feel like real humans – and they can even reproduce 90% of our movements
China has revealed a new generation of creepy humanoidrobots that are designed for a 'lifetime' of companionship.
At an event in the Chinese tech hub of Shenzhen, UBTech Robotics launched the world's first mass–produced ultra–realistic humanoid robots.
These Uworld U1 androids are covered with 'biomimetic skin' that looks and feels just like that of a real human.
And the company even claims that the robots' specially designed 'spines' mean they can reproduce 90 per cent of human movements.
The male and female versions stand at 183 and 169 centimetres tall respectively, and weigh about half as much as their average human counterpart.
They are being offered for sale in a basic torso–only version as well as in two full–body options with more advanced features.
UBTech says that prices start at £13,218 (119,88 RMB), with the high–end units costing up to £109,205 (990,000 RMB).
However, not everyone appears to be a fan of the robots, with one horrified viewer branding the bots 'soulless golems'.
China has revealed a new generation of creepy humanoid robots that are designed for a 'lifetime' of companionship
Unlike most humanoid robots, which are designed for factory floors and industrial labour, the U1 androids have been created to be 'companions'.
UBTech founder Zhou Jian described this as the next phase in 'human–machine symbiosis'.
He said: 'First robots work in factories, then they enter our homes, and finally integrate seamlessly into our lives.'
With that goal in mind, these uncanny androids have been designed to be as realistic as possible.
The bots feature 88 servo joints, a specialised dual–pivot biomimetic cervical spine, and thousands of components in the head to reproduce human facial expressions.
Jiao Jichao, vice–president of UBTech and head of its Embodied Intelligence and Humanoid Robotics Research Institute, told the South China Morning Post that the face was the biggest problem.
Mr Jichao says: 'One of the biggest challenges was making the robot look and behave naturally after fitting complex mechanical systems into a human–sized body, as well as ensuring its facial expressions matched speech and emotion and that it could deliver consistent performance at scale.'
To ensure that the robot can act like a human as well as looking like one, UBTech says each bot comes with an on–board AI specifically designed for 'long–term companionship'.
At an event in the Chinese tech hub of Shenzhen, UBTech Robotics launched the world's first mass–produced ultra–realistic humanoid robots
These Uworld U1 androids are covered with 'biomimetic skin' that looks and feels like a real human
This AI is supposedly capable of 'recognising more than 20 fine–grained emotional states with an accuracy rate exceeding 90 per cent'.
Staff at the launch event told reporters: 'The robot can hold conversations, maintain eye contact with users, and is available for sale only to adults.'
UBTech says that 13,361 people have already paid a £330 (3,000 RMB) deposit to secure their spot in the pre–order waitlist.
The company also says it will donate 100 androids to vulnerable groups, including 'children growing up apart from one or both parents, older adults living alone, and families facing difficult circumstances', by the end of this year.
On social media, some tech fans were amazed by the announcement, with one commenter writing: 'It's so cool looking, like it came right out of a sci–fi movie.'
While another chimed in: 'Fascinating to see UBTECH delivering this level of realism and emotional intelligence in a mass–produced humanoid.'
However, despite the apparent popularity, some commenters slammed these bots' eerie appearances and apparently limited functionality.
One commenter wrote on X: 'A mannequin with a microphone and a c***** AI model, big whoop.'
UBTech says that these robots have been specifically designed to provide companionship, and are pitched as a solution to China's loneliness problem
'They do NOT look human,' added another.
One commenter wrote: 'It won't be cheap, obviously, but it'll be totally worth it, at least until they decide to slit my throat in my sleep.'
This comes after humanoid robots in China suffered several viral disasters.
Physical jobs in predictable environments, including machine-operators and fast-food workers, are the most likely to be replaced by robots.
Management consultancy firm McKinsey, based in New York, focused on the amount of jobs that would be lost to automation, and what professions were most at risk.
The report said collecting and processing data are two other categories of activities that increasingly can be done better and faster with machines.
This could displace large amounts of labour - for instance, in mortgages, paralegal work, accounting, and back-office transaction processing.
Conversely, jobs in unpredictable environments are least are risk.
The report added: 'Occupations such as gardeners, plumbers, or providers of child- and eldercare - will also generally see less automation by 2030, because they are technically difficult to automate and often command relatively lower wages, which makes automation a less attractive business proposition.'
EXCLUSIVE - Trump's inner circle have shown me the real UFO disclosure: The president has an imminent speech 'written and ready'... what he'll explain about non-human life will make it all make sense
President Donald Trump allegedly has a speech 'written and ready' that could finally provide the world with the truth about UFOs.
Mark Christopher Lee, who correctly predicted several aspects of Trump's UFO disclosure plans in the Daily Mail earlier this year, now claims the president has prepared a speech that would amount to a historic 'soft disclosure' of extraterrestrial life.
White House officials have told the Daily Mail that no speech discussing this topic has been planned.
However, Lee revealed that multiple sources believe the speech not only exists but may have been moved up to take place during the NATO summit in Turkey on July 8, which is also the anniversary of the Roswell UFO incident in 1947 - though he is less confident about the exact timing of the speech.
'People I have spoken with in Washington have told me that a speech on the topic has been prepared and is ready to go,' Lee told the Daily Mail. 'Whether it happens tomorrow or in the coming days, it appears imminent.'
The alleged draft of the speech is said to mention specific UFO incidents over the last 80 years, including Roswell, the US Navy's encounter with a craft called the 'Tic Tac' in 2004 and multiple UFOs spotted by fighter jets along the East Coast in 2015.
These incidents have been in the public zeitgeist for years now, but Lee says Trump will go a step further, and confirm these incidents are believed to have involved craft and beings of a 'non-human origin.'
He is also expected to reveal that forensic testing done on entities found in crashed UFOs proves these beings were not from Earth, according to Lee.
'The text claims Trump would explain past secrecy, announce declassification steps, a new interagency task force, and international cooperation - while stating this is "not a threat, but an opportunity to unite humanity,"' the filmmaker revealed.
President Donald Trump has already directed the Pentagon to disclose all files related to UFOs and the search for alien life, a process which started on May 8
Mark Christopher Lee, a UK-based ufologist and filmmaker, has said a speech has been prepared by Trump and that address may come as soon as July 8, 2026
Trump has expressed support for increased transparency and 'disclosure' regarding UFOs, though his personal interest in the subject has historically been described as skeptical or limited.
'Am I a believer? No, I probably can't say I am. But I have met with people who are serious people who say there are some really strange things that they see flying around out there,' Trump said during an appearance on YouTuber-turned-WWE star Logan Paul's podcast last year.
Trump's own daughter-in-law, Lara, said multiple times she had been led to believe a speech had been written and was ready for the public to hear.
Lee said one of his sources was Robert Bigelow, an American businessman and billionaire known for his work in real estate, hotels and space technology - as well as his strong personal interest in UFOs and government transparency.
Lee has alleged that Bigelow, a major donor to Trump's 2024 election campaign, has taken credit for convincing the president to prepare this speech.
According to a report in Rolling Stone,Bigelow reportedly met with Trump cabinet member Robert F Kennedy Jr in December, with the discussion quickly pivoting from health and homelessness to 'the matter of UFOs and paranormal activity.'
The Daily Mail has reached out to Bigelow for comment.
Another source was US television producer David Broadwell, credited with working on the series Beyond Skinwalker Ranch, which investigates paranormal and UFO-related phenomena.
Broadwell told the Daily Mail that his sources in Washington 'were all talking about this speech' and he chose to disclose this information to several researchers who investigate UFOs.
Robert T Bigelow (Pictured) is founder and president of Bigelow Aerospace and also a major donor to President Trump's 2024 campaign
Trump's February 19 order to disclose any and all information on alien life came hours after he scolded former President Obama for saying in an interview that aliens were real
To this point, the US government has maintained that no physical evidence of UFOs or alien life has ever been found to have visited Earth.
Despite that stance, Trump has publicly criticized former President Obama for allegedly revealing classified information when he said that aliens 'are real, but I haven't seen them and they're not being kept at Area 51.'
Just days after Obama's comments in February, Trump issued a historic order to the Pentagon to disclose any and all information on UFO encounters and investigations into alien life.
Since then, three tranches of files have been released by the US Department of War on a newly created website, which has already been viewed more than a billion times since its debut on May 8.
The files contain videos, audio recordings, pictures and thousands of pages of old reports by the FBI, NASA and Pentagon documenting cases of unexplained encounters and sightings throughout the world.
However, none of the declassified files have been called the 'smoking gun' of proof that definitively shows that aliens exist and have visited Earth in a genuine interstellar craft.
Lee - who produced and starred in the short film called July 8: The Day Everything Changes? - believes the historic speech is imminent in order to beat out several hostile nations the US is allegedly in a 'UFO Cold War' with, battling over technology and reversed-engineered breakthroughs from crashed spacecraft.
Lee said that July 8 'could be the perfect platform to frame UFOs [and] aliens as a common threat to NATO members and steal the ground on Russia and China.'
Major Jesse Marcel (Pictured), recovered debris from the 1947 Roswell crash in New Mexico. He said the debris could not melt or heat up and could not be punctured
The local paper's front page story reported that the Roswell Army field recovered a flying saucer on a New Mexico Ranch after metallic-looking, light but strong material was scattered across the land
Lee's predictions, given to the Daily Mail in January, have been spot-on to this point.
The filmmaker accurately claimed that public disclosure would begin this year, with UFO files rolling out from the Pentagon starting in May.
This also brought a renewed level of scrutiny from Capitol Hill, as Lee predicted. Member of the House Oversight Committee have continued to press the Trump Administration for full disclosure, including during a major news event on June 9.
Lee did claim he was 'misled and used' about by insiders who claimed full alien disclosure would come sooner and then stopped returning his calls after he went public with the information about Trump's speech.
However, the filmmaker has stood by the main belief that the speech is real and could come at any time.
'I just spoke to another journalist who has confirmed that there is a speech and it is imminent,' Lee told the Daily Mail.
If Trump were to confirm that the Roswell incident was real, it would validate recent claims that there has been an 80-year cover-up within the US government and possibly throughout the world to keep the knowledge of alien life a secret.
Roswell became the world's most famous UFO case, forming the foundation of modern extraterrestrial lore.
According to the original US military announcement on July 8, 1947, soldiers from Roswell Army Air Field in New Mexico recovered the wreckage of a 'flying disc' from a ranch near Roswell.
The story quickly made national headlines. However, the military changed its story the next day, saying it was just a weather balloon.
Many people still believe it was actually an alien spacecraft and that alien bodies were also recovered in the crash as well.
In recent years, military whistleblowers have stepped forward to publicly testify before Congress that the US government is actively operating a secret program that tracks and recovers crashed UFOs.
Whistleblowers, including Air Force veteran David Grusch, and members of the House Oversight Committee have now called on President Trump to not only disclose what the government has allegedly hidden, but also to grant immunity to all whistleblowers with knowledge of these programs.
Residents of Forest Beach in Queensland, Australia, were recently urged by one local business to “do the smart thing” and “panic buy” after unusual objects found in the area were likened to the remains of a crashed UFO.
The amusingalien wreckage references followed a surprising discovery in the coastal community: a collection of six odd metallic spheres found along the community’s beaches over the weekend.
Although many mystery objects that are found on beaches have Earthly origins, that wasn’t the case in this instance: according to Australian Space Agency officials, these mysterious metallic spheres actually did fall from space.
The Mystery Spheres of Forrest Beach
The mystery began on July 5, when Queensland Fire Department personnel responded to reports of unusual objects spotted by area residents along the nearby shoreline.
“Queensland Fire and Rescue crews are continuing to assist partner agencies following the discovery of several potentially hazardous objects around Forrest Beach in North Queensland,” the agency wrote in an update that appeared on its official Facebook page.
“Specialist QFR Scientific teams have safely secured a number of the items throughout the weekend and remain on scene continuing their work,” the statement read. “A 50-metre exclusion zone is still in place.”
“The nature and origin of the debris are still being investigated,” the Queensland Fire Department statement added.

The following day, the Australian Space Agency confirmed the outer space origins of these objects, according to The New York Times, although with one caveat: while the curious spheres fell from space, their deeper origins are here on Earth, having likely been related to debris from a rocket that recently reentered from orbit.
“The recovered objects appear to be pressure vessels from a space launch vehicle,” according to a statement released by the Australian Space Agency that said the metallic spheres were “consistent with debris from a foreign rocket body,” though offering few additional details about the objects and their specific origins.
The suspected pressure vessels would have been used as storage containers for substances used during the launch phase, or possibly while in orbit.
Space Debris Found in Australia
“The majority of returning space objects either arrive back in a controlled manner to a specific location on Earth, or burn up in the Earth’s atmosphere,” the Australian Space Agency states on a page on its website that discusses space debris that may be discovered in Australia.
“Some objects may survive uncontrolled re-entry, making it harder to predict where the debris may fall,” the FAQ page states. “While any space debris that survives re-entry is most likely to land in the ocean or in remote locations, the initial discovery of space debris on Australian territory may be by members of the public.”
According to officials with Australia’s National Emergency Management Agency, there was no risk posed by the objects found at Forrest Beach, although the area around the discovery site was temporarily closed while officials descended on the area to test for any signs of contamination from potentially volatile substances.
Australia Isn’t Alone
Debris suspected of originating from spacecraft has made its way to Australia in the past. One large example discovered by residents in northeastern Australia four years ago was determined to have belonged to part of a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft.
The Debrief was one of the first outlets to identify that object as possible SpaceX debris, after noting similarities to a confirmed portion of the trunk section from a Dragon capsule used during the SpaceX Axiom 3 mission that survived reentry over Saskatchewan on Feb 26, 2024, and was later discovered by a farmer on his property.
Our Fascination with Mysterious Metallic Spheres
Last year, similar claims involving the alleged recovery of a mysterious metallic sphere were reported in March near Buga, Colombia. Researchers who studied the object, which was allegedly observed passing through the sky before it was recovered from an area of thick undergrowth, claimed the object had “no welds or joints,” and that it featured unusual symbols on its surface.
The origins of the Buga mystery sphere remain undetermined, with some suspecting that, rather than space debris in this instance, the object may simply have been a hoax.
Such stories highlight our fascination with mysterious metallic spheres, which is nothing new, especially when it comes to mysterious sightings of unusual objects. During the height of the Second World War, The New York Times carried a news brief in its December 14, 1944 edition, which described observations by U.S. pilots involving unusual spherical objects seen over Europe.
“A new German weapon has made its appearance on the western air front,” the short Times article reads. “Airmen of the American Air Force report that they are encountering silver colored spheres in the air over German territory.”
“The spheres are encountered either singly or in clusters,” the brief concludes, adding that “Sometimes they are semi-translucent.”
In an April 2023 Senate Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities hearing, Dr. Sean Kirkpatrick, at the time serving as the inaugural director of the Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, told lawmakers that small spherical objects accounted for a majority of the reports it receives involving what the U.S. military now calls unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), historically known as UFOs.
More Space Debris Could Be Found
While Australian officials have confirmed that the objects discovered at Forrest Beach aren’t evidence of visitors from space, they have nonetheless advised that it is possible additional debris could be found, and locals who may find such materials have been advised to alert the Australian Space Agency.
“Do not handle the debris,” the Australian Space Agency states on its website. “Space objects are built from a range of materials that may be hazardous. They should only be handled by appropriately trained and equipped professionals.”

The Indigenous people near Lake Superior established pre-mining industries thousands of years before the pyramids of Egypt were constructed, and centuries before iron changed the military powers of the ancient world.
The World’s Largest Prehistoric Copper Mining District
Rich deposits of copper lie on the Keweenaw Peninsula of modern-day Michigan and on nearby Isle Royale, where veins and large masses of pure native copper emerge naturally near the surface. Archaeologists have documented approximately 10,000 prehistoric mine pits on Isle Royale, with thousands more scattered across the Keweenaw Peninsula. Excavations have also uncovered massive hammerstones, wooden levers, abandoned extraction pits, and fire-cracked bedrocks - evidence of organized mining on an extraordinary scale.
Today, many of these same ancient mine pits remain visible beneath the forests of Isle Royale National Park, where they serve as silent guardians for generations of Indigenous miners whose engineering skills transformed the landscape long before the first European explorers set foot in North America. Yet, while the sheer scale of this mining operation is beyond dispute, an equally remarkable mystery remains. Despite the immense quantity of copper believed to have been extracted 3,000 to 6,000 years ago, only a small fraction survives as fragments in archaeological contexts. The fate of the rest of the copper continues to puzzle archaeologists, and it presents an enduring archaeological mystery.
Wisconsin prehistoric timeline (Old Copper Culture chronology). Available through the museum's online Old Copper Culture exhibit.
The Old Copper Culture: Among the World’s Earliest Metalworkers
The people who created the copper industry are known among archaeologists as the Old Copper Culture, a specific archaic tradition that flourished around the Great Lakes between 7,500 and 9,500 years ago. Rather than practicing metallurgy by smelting ores, Indigenous communities took advantage of the region's unique deposits of native copper, a naturally occurring metal pure enough to be worked without melting. By repeatedly hammering the copper into shape and reheating it over time, a process known as annealing, they produced a wide range of durable tools and ornamental objects. Archaeological excavations have uncovered copper spear points, axes, knives, adzes, awls, fishhooks, bracelets, chisels, beads, and pendants, demonstrating how copper served both practical and ceremonial functions in everyday life.
The influence of the Old Copper Culture extended far beyond the shores of Lake Superior. Geochemical tracing has located copper artifacts in the broader Great Lakes region, ranging from the upper Midwest to the Southeast. Such broad dispersal shows that early metalworkers participated in exchange networks linking diverse Indigenous communities across North America. Archaeologists continue to debate how these networks actually operated, but there is little doubt that Great Lakes copper became one of the continent’s most sought-after materials. Therefore, the achievements of the Old Copper Culture represent one of the earliest examples of metalworking on the American continent and one of the most sophisticated technological traditions of the prehistoric world.

For thousands of years, the copper mines of the Lake Superior Region echoed with the sounds of hammerstones striking bedrock as generations of Indigenous miners extracted copper from the Keweenaw Peninsula and Isle Royale. Approximately three thousand years ago, this intensive mining activity abruptly ended. Archaeologists have found little evidence that new mine pits were opened on the same scale after this period, and the distinctive mining tradition that had once flourished in the Lake Superior Region gradually faded from the archaeological record. The disappearance is quite striking because the veins were far from exhausted. Vast quantities of native copper were left in the ground, prompting researchers to ask why Indigenous communities abandoned one of North America's richest mineral resources.
There is broad agreement that intensive prehistoric mining declined around 1000 BC, but why this occurred remains actively debated. The archaeological record shows numerous abandoned mine pits, hammerstones left in place, and unfinished workings that were abandoned without explanation. Due to the lack of evidence for this period, the end of North America’s great prehistoric copper industry remains one of archaeology’s unanswered questions, one that inspires advanced technological research, including radiocarbon dating, geochemical analysis, and Indigenous archaeological analysis.

One of the most important technological advancements has come directly from geochemical and lead-isotope analyses. Researchers can compare the elemental composition of copper artifacts with that of known geological sources. Because the native copper deposits in the Lake Superior region exhibit distinct chemical signatures, researchers can determine whether an artifact originated on the Keweenaw Peninsula or Isle Royale. Recent studies confirmed that Great Lakes copper was distributed throughout eastern North America, appearing at archaeological sites hundreds of miles from its source. Combining radiocarbon dating with microscopic analysis of manufacturing techniques, researchers can trace the evidence of the sophisticated Indigenous exchange networks that connected prehistoric communities across the continent.
The greatest mystery remains unsolved. While scientific analyses continue to improve estimates of active mining activity and chart Lake Superior copper circulation, many archaeologists suspect that a significant portion of ancient copper work remains undiscovered in unexcavated archaeological sites, buried ceremonial caches, submerged landscapes, and settlements that still haven’t been investigated. Others caution that historical estimates of the total quantity of copper mined may require further refinement as new data comes in. A new technological breakthrough has only generated new questions about the organization of prehistoric mining, the scale of long-distance exchange, and the social importance of copper within Indigenous cultures. The search for answers goes on, demonstrating that archaeology isn’t solely dedicated to uncovering ancient objects. Researchers are using scientific techniques to reconstruct forgotten economies, human connections, and technologies stretching back thousands of years.

JAXA's Hayabusa 2 spacecraft has delivered our first closeup image of asteroid Torifune. The image clearly shows that theasteroid is a contact binary made of a pair of once separate asteroids that joined together. Image Credit: JAXA, The University of Tokyo, Chiba Institute of Technology, Institute of Science Tokyo, AIST, Paris Observatory, IAC.
Hayabusa 2's primary mission is well in the past, now. JAXA's asteroid sampling spacecraft rendezvoused with asteroid Ryugu back in June 2018. It studied the asteroid for 1.5 years and gathered a samplewhich was returned to Earth in December 2020.
After that successful endeavour, Hayabusa 2 was sent on its way to visit other targets, though another sample-return is not possible. It's on its way to visit a tiny asteroid called 1998 KY26, a near-Earth object (NEO) only about 11 meters in diameter. But on its way, it also flew past another asteroid named Torifune (98943 Torifune).
Ground-based observations showed that Torifune is a near-Earth asteroid (NEA) measuring about 450 meters in diameter. It's an S-type asteroid, meaning its a stony-type or siliceous-type. These are high-density objects that make up about 17% of the asteroid population, making them the second most common type after carbonaceous C-type asteroids.
*These are two different top-down ways of envisioning Hayabusa 2 and asteroid Torifune. The left panel shows a view in a frame that rotates with Earth's orbit. The right panel shows a stationary frame.
Image Credit: By Original by Hirabayashi et al. 2026, modified by Nrco0e - Modified from Figure 2 of https://arxiv.org/html/2604.08832v1, CC BY 4.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=189386318*
Hayabusa 2 began looking at Torifune in June with its Optical Navigation Camera – Telescopic (ONC-T). The ONC-T directly imaged Torifune on June 20th for navigation purposes.
Then on July 5th, Hayabusa 2 came to within about 800 meters of the asteroid. It used ONC-T to capture images of Torifune that revealed details about its surface. While ground-based observations showed the asteroid was elongated, hinting at its contact binary nature, only these images confirm it. In contact binaries, two separate asteroids orbited a common center of mass until they spiralled in towards each other and joined into one. Contact binary asteroids aren't expected to be rare.
Beginning at about one hour before closest approach, Hayabusa 2 also observed Torifune with its other instruments, the NIRS3 (Near-Infrared Spectrometer), TIR (Thermal InfraRed Imager), and LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging).
*Hayabusa 2 also imaged asteroid Torifune with its Thermal InfraRed Imager (TIR). This TIR image is from about 10 km away.
Image Credit: JAXA, Maebashi Institute of Technology, Chiba Institute of Technology, The University of Aizu, Hokkaido University of Education, AIST*
Hayabusa 2 was travelling very fast during this flyby. Its relative speed was 5 km/s (3.1 mi/s), making navigation and image capturing challenging. It has less than half of its xenon propellant remaining, enough to power its ion thrusters to meet Torifune and 1998 KY26, but not enough for any extra maneuvers.
Hayabusa 2's next milestone will be in December 2027 when it swings past Earth. Then in June 2028, it will swing by Earth again. That will set it up for its rendezvous with 1998 KY26 in July 2031.
The exact nature of 1998 KY26 isn't clear. Observations in optical and radar suggest that it's a water-rich asteroid, and since it's known to be a fast-rotator, it's almost certainly one single chunk of rock rather than a rubble pile asteroid. It could also potentially be an X-type asteroid, which is a catch-all term that encapsulates objects that look similar through a telescope but are composed of different materials.
All of Hayabusa 2's data from its flyby of Torifune has not yet reached Earth, so these are preliminary results. JAXA will release more in the near future.

This eyewitness has recorded five full minutes of raw unedited footage of a green glowing UFO over Texas. This UFO is partly cloaked, well, I mean as it moves, since its rotating slightly, parts of it become invisible so it looks like four separate pieces at times, but it is one single craft. Wow, this guy just had the dream we all have of encountering a colorful UFO close up for five full minutes! How exciting this must have been. This UFO wanted to be seen, after its telepathy sensed it being watch...it put on a show for him showing its maneuverability and at different angles. Aliens...they want full disclosure too. They don't like hiding.
Scott C. Waring - UFO Sightings Daily
Eyewitness states:
I saw a greenish light hovering in the sky and began recording. I zoomed in to the maximum for most of the film and tried to get trees in the shot for perspective and wind conditions. The night was partly cloudy so the object(s) were sometimes obscured. I paused recording a few times to ensure I was actually capturing footage. The pixelation of the video is natural when filming distant lights at night. The object(s) made no noise that I could hear. There were no other witnesses and when I ran inside after clip 4 to get my fiance, the lights had moved to the SW part of the sky and disappeared below the horizon one second before she could see them, which is why I said “No! Don’t go now!!” Note: watching this footage on a big TV revealed details I couldn’t see while filming.

Catching a white sphere with an aurora around it is rare, but whats even more rare is seeing smaller spheres shooting out of it. Here the smaller orbs are dropping out directly below. They drop out cloaked, but are visible when they shoot off. The propulsion system is still visible (bright flash). This makes them visible for a split second. I love to see these type of catches.
Scott C. Waring - UFO Sightings Daily
Eyewitness states:
Emitted beams, Aircraft nearby Bright round light during daylight. Periodic flashing lights coming from it. Slow moving/hovering. Very high up. Not on radar. I spotted the object while looking at a plane in the sky. On radar, the plane was 41,000 ft in the air. I cannot tell if the object was higher or lower than the plane. The object was a perfectly round white, almost ball of light with periodic lights flashing from it – one of the lights flashing from it appeared to be a longer line and the other flashed closer to the object. The lights did not appear random or organic, they were similar in length and shape each time. The object was not on the radar app. It appeared to hover in place, and at times appeared to move very slowly. I was able to capture photos and video.

Project Kronos: Die Glocke "The Bell" — They Ignored a 1,000-Year-Old Warning
By the spring of 1945, Hitler's regime was collapsing as Allied forces closed in from every direction. Yet according to persistent claims, one highly secret project continued until the very end. Known as Project Kronos, it is said to have centered on the mysterious device called Die Glocke ("The Bell"), allegedly developed using concepts inspired by a thousand-year-old Indian text.
The project operated within underground facilities hidden beneath the mountains of Lower Silesia, particularly in the Riese Project complex.
According to unverified reports, Die Glocke was capable of: manipulating gravity, generating anti-gravity effects, distorting time, opening portals, or even enabling time travel.
The device was also said to be powered by a mysterious substance known as Xerum 525, described as a dense, purple, mercury-like liquid. Alleged test subjects reportedly suffered severe radiation burns, while others died under unexplained circumstances.
Then, as the war ended, many of the scientists connected to the project reportedly disappeared, along with Hans Kammler, the SS general responsible for many of Germany's advanced weapons and underground construction projects, who allegedly oversaw the entire program.
Decades later, the same technology resurfaced in a US Navy patent, and nobody could explain how it got there.
This is the story of an alleged warning written a thousand years before World War II, the men who may have ignored it, and the mysterious thread said to connect an ancient king to modern spaceflight. Some parts are grounded in documented history, others remain speculation, and the full story is still unresolved.

For decades, the UFO debate revolved around a single question: "Are UFOs real?"
Today, that question has largely been answered — not in the way many expected, but in a way that is arguably more important.
Governments around the world, including the United States, no longer deny that unidentified objects are sometimes detected in restricted airspace. Military pilots, radar operators, intelligence analysts, and government agencies openly acknowledge that some aerial incidents remain unexplained after investigation.
This does not mean governments have confirmed extraterrestrial visitors.
What has changed is something subtler, but potentially more significant.
The institutions themselves have changed.
A Shift Few People Noticed
Only a decade ago, a military pilot who reported seeing an unexplained object risked ridicule and possible damage to his or her career.
Today, reporting procedures exist.
The U.S. Department of Defense created the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) to investigate unidentified phenomena affecting national security. Congress has held public hearings. Intelligence agencies have declassified videos, reports, and historical records.
Regardless of what ultimately explains these cases, the subject has moved from the margins into official government policy.
That alone represents one of the most remarkable changes in the modern history of the UFO phenomenon.
Why UFOs Are Hiding Our Oceans & How The CIA Trained Psychic Spies | Admiral Tim Gallaudet
The Debate Has Changed
The central public question is no longer: "Do UFOs exist?"
Instead, lawmakers increasingly ask:
What information does the government possess?
Which agencies have access to it?
How much has been classified?
Is Congress receiving complete information?
Are there legitimate national security concerns that justify secrecy?
These are questions of governance, oversight, and transparency — not speculation.
From Ridicule to Investigation
For much of the twentieth century, unidentified aerial phenomena were often dismissed without serious public discussion.
Today, military encounters are documented, analyzed, and in some cases released to the public. Pilots are encouraged to report unusual incidents. Sensor data receives technical analysis. Congress requests briefings. Inspectors General review allegations.
Whether every case has an ordinary explanation or some remain genuinely anomalous, the investigative process itself has become institutionalized.
That is a profound change.
Transparency Is Not the Same as Disclosure
One of the most common misconceptions is to equate declassification with confirmation. They are not the same.
Governments can acknowledge that unusual events occurred while remaining uncertain about their causes. A report stating "unidentified" does not imply "extraterrestrial." Likewise, releasing documents does not necessarily reveal every classified program or every relevant piece of evidence.
Good journalism requires resisting the temptation to fill those gaps with speculation.
Why This Matters
History is often measured not by spectacular events but by gradual institutional change. Consider what has happened over the past several years:
Congress has held multiple public hearings on UAPs.
The Pentagon established a permanent investigative office.
Military reporting procedures have been formalized.
Intelligence agencies have declassified historical records.
Scientific organizations have begun studying the topic with greater seriousness.
Mainstream media now cover UAP developments as matters of national security rather than fringe curiosity.
Viewed individually, each development may appear modest. Taken together, they represent a transformation in how governments approach unidentified aerial phenomena.
What Still Has Not Been Proven
It is equally important to recognize what has not been established.
There is no publicly available evidence confirming that any government possesses recovered extraterrestrial spacecraft or non-human technology. Several whistleblowers have made extraordinary allegations, but those claims remain unverified in the public domain.
Similarly, many UAP cases eventually receive conventional explanations, while others remain unresolved because available evidence is incomplete. An unresolved case is not, by itself, evidence of extraterrestrial origin.
Maintaining that distinction is essential for credible reporting.
Looking Ahead
The next major breakthrough may not come from another blurry cellphone video or another anonymous internet claim.
It may come from a policy decision. A court ruling. A congressional investigation. Additional declassified documents. Improved sensor technology. Or greater international cooperation among governments studying unidentified phenomena.
These developments may ultimately prove more consequential than any single sighting.
Final Thoughts
At The UFO Times, we believe the most important story unfolding today is not simply what may be in our skies.
It is how governments, scientists, and democratic institutions are changing the way they investigate the unknown.
Whether the final answers point toward advanced technology, natural phenomena, foreign intelligence capabilities, or something entirely unexpected, one fact is already clear:
The conversation has fundamentally changed. And history may remember that change as the beginning of a new chapter in the study of unidentified aerial phenomena — not because all the answers were found, but because the questions were finally taken seriously.
The UFO Times Evidence Scale
We apply this framework to every story we cover. Readers should always know where a claim stands.
ESTABLISHED FACTS
Supported by official documents, verified sensor data, or multiple independent sources. The existence of AARO, congressional UAP hearings, and the release of Navy UAP footage fall into this category.
CREDIBLE BUT UNVERIFIED
Statements from identifiable witnesses or whistleblowers that have not yet been independently corroborated. David Grusch's congressional testimony is an example — credible and protected, but not yet confirmed by physical evidence.
SPECULATIVE THEORIES
Hypotheses that fit some evidence but lack sufficient supporting data. Extraterrestrial explanations for most UAP cases currently fall here — possible, but unproven.
UNSUPPORTED CLAIMS
Assertions for which no credible evidence is currently available. We report these only when they are relevant to the broader story — and we always label them clearly.
The UFO Times Editorial Principles
Evidence over assumption. We report what the evidence shows — not what we hope it shows.
Questions over conclusions. We begin every investigation with an open question, never a predetermined answer.
Transparency over certainty. When we don't know, we say so. Honest uncertainty is more valuable than false confidence.
Facts First. Mystery Second. Speculation Last.

The Nimitz Tic Tac incident is one of the strongest modern UAP case files because it combines named military witnesses, radar discussion, and officially released U.S.
Navy video.
The case sits at the centre of the modern UAP conversation because it feels more contemporary than Roswell, more documentable than many classic sightings, and more connected to present-day institutions than older Cold War cases.
The useful way to approach the Nimitz encounter is not as final proof of anything extraordinary. It is a modern military case with a real public record, serious witness testimony, and a large amount of interpretation built around an incomplete evidence set.
What Happened In The Nimitz Tic Tac Incident?
In November 2004, U.S. Navy personnel connected to the USS Nimitz carrier strike group encountered an unusual object during training operations off the coast of southern California. The object later became widely known as the "Tic Tac" because witnesses described it as a smooth, white shape resembling a capsule or mint.
The case became famous for several connected reasons:
radar operators reported unusual contacts
Navy aviators later described a strange airborne object during an intercept attempt
a military video associated with the event became public
the Department of Defense later officially released historical Navy videos, including one taken in November 2004
That does not make every detail equally documented. It does put the case on firmer public footing than many famous UFO stories.
Quick Timeline Of The 2004 Encounter
Stage
What is commonly reported
Pre-encounter context
Carrier strike group units were conducting workup and training operations off southern California
Radar interest
Personnel associated with the USS Princeton reported unusual contacts before the intercept
Intercept attempt
Commander David Fravor and other aviators were directed to investigate one of the anomalies
Visual encounter
Fravor later described seeing a white Tic Tac-shaped object moving in unusual ways above the water
Later footage
A cockpit video associated with the November 2004 event entered the public domain and later became part of the officially released historical Navy videos
Public turning point
The case became a pillar of the modern UAP conversation after late-2010s media coverage and the 2020 Department of Defense release
That timeline matters because the Nimitz case is not just one video clip. It is a bundle of radar discussion, witness recollection, military context, and later public documentation.
What David Fravor And Other Witnesses Said They Saw
The most visible human source for the case is retired Commander David Fravor. In his written statement for the 26 July 2023 House Oversight hearing, Fravor said that in November 2004 he was serving with Strike Fighter Squadron 41 aboard USS Nimitz during a workup cycle preparing for deployment. He described being redirected from a training mission to investigate something unusual after the USS Princeton had been tracking anomalous objects.
Fravor's account is one reason the case has held public attention. He described seeing a white, elongated object moving above a disturbance in the water below. In later public discussions and testimony, he said the object appeared to manoeuvre in ways that did not match his expectations for conventional aircraft.
That testimony comes from a trained military aviator speaking under his own name in a formal public setting. It does not settle the case by itself, but it gives the encounter more weight than anonymous retellings or internet folklore.
Witness testimony is one kind of evidence. It is not the same thing as a complete technical reconstruction. The Nimitz case remains important partly because people often blur that distinction.
What The Released Video Does And Does Not Show
One reason the Nimitz encounter reached beyond UFO subculture is the video.
On 27 April 2020, the U.S. Department of Defense released three unclassified historical Navy videos. In that release, the Department said one of the videos was taken in November 2004 and two others were taken in January 2015. The Department also said the aerial phenomena observed in the videos remain characterised as "unidentified."
That official release did two important things:
it confirmed the footage was genuine historical Navy video
it stopped the debate over whether the clips were fabricated or fake
It did not prove what the object was. Official release is not official explanation.
The video gives the public a real artefact to inspect, which already puts the case in a stronger category than many famous incidents. But the footage is still limited. It is a partial visual record, not the whole event. Readers who lean too heavily on the clip alone usually flatten a larger case into one image.
What Is Officially Documented
The strongest public anchors for the case are relatively clear.
What is officially documented in a public-facing sense:
the Department of Defense released historical Navy videos on 27 April 2020
that release states one of the videos was taken in November 2004
the Department said the phenomena observed remain characterised as unidentified
David Fravor gave a formal written statement to Congress in 2023 describing the incident from his perspective
What is also part of the public case record:
sustained public witness discussion from military participants
the larger late-2010s media and congressional wave that elevated the case into mainstream UAP conversation
the way the case became a reference point for modern pages such as AARO and NASA's UAP study
If you want to inspect the primary public record yourself, start with the source trail near the end of this page.
How The Case Changed Modern UAP Discussion
The Nimitz encounter helped shift UFO discussion from old mythology into modern state, military, and public-policy language.
Older cases often live inside a fog of retellings, incomplete files, and cultural legend. The Nimitz case still has uncertainty, but it belongs to a different era. It sits alongside public video discussion, congressional testimony, post-2017 media attention, official UAP institutions, and scientific review frameworks.
That makes the case a hinge point. It is not simply a famous sighting. It is a case that helped define what modern UAP discourse sounds like.
The Nimitz case is important because it is not cleanly settled.
Several things remain unresolved in the public record:
the public does not have a complete technical reconstruction of the event
not all underlying sensor data is publicly available
the public record is stronger on some parts of the case than others
later commentary often moves beyond what the released material alone can support
That is why the case should not be oversold. It can support serious interest, careful reading, and debate about military reporting and evidence limits. It cannot yet support a final explanation everyone agrees on, proof of extraterrestrial origin, or a complete public understanding of every sensor, witness, and chain-of-command detail involved.
The gap between significance and certainty is exactly why the case still matters.
The Grounded Takeaway
The Nimitz Tic Tac incident is one of the strongest modern UAP cases because it leaves the public with enough real material to ask disciplined questions.
There is a military context. There is named witness testimony. There is officially released video. There is later congressional attention. That already puts the case in a different category from rumour-led UFO stories.
At the same time, the public record remains incomplete. The case is best understood as a serious modern UAP encounter with unresolved elements, not as a solved mystery or confirmed extraterrestrial event.
That balance is what makes the Nimitz incident worth reading carefully.
It was a November 2004 U.S. Navy encounter involving personnel connected to the USS Nimitz carrier strike group, unusual radar contacts, witness testimony from aviators including David Fravor, and a video later included in the Department of Defense release of historical Navy videos.
Did the Navy confirm the Tic Tac video was real?
The Department of Defense officially released historical Navy videos on 27 April 2020 and said one of them was taken in November 2004. That confirms the footage was genuine military video, but not what the object ultimately was.
What did David Fravor say he saw?
In public testimony and his 2023 written congressional statement, Fravor described being redirected to investigate an unusual object and later seeing a white Tic Tac-shaped craft behaving in ways he considered highly unusual.
Does the Nimitz case prove extraterrestrial origin?
No. The case is important because it has a real public record and remains unresolved in important ways. That is different from proving an extraterrestrial explanation.
The SHOCKING Truth About the "Tic Tac" UFO Incident
Blind Magazine’s latest feature traces a photographic history of UFOs as something more than a catalog of unexplained lights in the sky. In curator Philippe Baudouin’s view, these images are also cultural evidence—documents that reveal how public imagination, belief, and skepticism have evolved alongside changing ideas about extraterrestrial life. Presenting “Nous ne sommes pas seuls. Images extraterrestres” (“We Are Not Alone. Extraterrestrial Images”) at Espace Croisière through October 4, 2026, Baudouin frames the subject not as proof of alien visitation, but as a visual archive of humanity’s enduring uncertainty about its place in the universe.
Photography as a Record of Belief
Baudouin begins from a cosmological premise that many scientists and philosophers would recognize: with “billions of galaxies, billions of stars, and probably as many planets as there are grains of sand on a beach,” he argues, “what would be unreasonable is to think we are alone in the universe.” Yet he is careful to distinguish between possibility and evidence. Whether that life is microbial or intelligent, he says, “I’m simply incapable of telling you.” That uncertainty is precisely why the exhibition focuses on UFO imagery rather than definitive extraterrestrial proof. Photography, in this context, becomes a stand-in for scientific knowledge that remains elusive, offering a record of what people have seen, believed, or wanted to believe at different moments in time.
A Cult Image, and the Mystery Behind It
Among the exhibition’s standout images is a striking 1993 photograph by Yves Bosson, Jean-Claude Ladrat, constructeur de soucoupes volantes (“Jean-Claude Ladrat, Builder of Flying Saucers”), which captures a man seated beside his homemade flying saucer as if it were an ordinary piece of furniture. The image evokes a distinctly French episode of amateur ufology and popular television memory: Ladrat’s appearance on the cult documentary program Strip-Tease in La Soucoupe et le perroquet (“The Saucer and the Parrot”), where viewers saw him building a craft in his mother’s garden in Germignac, apparently destined for the Bermuda Triangle. Baudouin notes that Bosson’s photograph had “never been published or shown” before, sitting for years in the photographer’s archives. The story underscores one of the exhibition’s central ideas: some UFO photographs survive not because they solve a mystery, but because they preserve a memorable encounter between obsession, eccentricity, and belief.
From Science Fiction Icon to Archive
The exhibition also opens with a familiar cultural touchstone: the I Want to Believe poster made famous by The X-Files. Baudouin points out that the image behind that emblem was itself lifted from a real photograph taken in 1975 by Swiss farmer Eduard Albert “Billy” Meier, who claimed to have photographed more than 1,400 UFOs in the Swiss countryside between 1975 and 1980. One of Meier’s images was reportedly used without authorization to create the poster. That detail is revealing: even one of television’s most iconic symbols of UFO skepticism and wonder is rooted in a contested photograph. In Baudouin’s telling, this is where the exhibition’s logic becomes clearest—beneath the popular myth lies an image, and beneath the image, an unresolved mystery.
Why These Images Still Matter
Baudouin insists he is not a ufologist, but his curatorial approach suggests that the history of UFO photography is inseparable from broader questions about media, memory, and belief. These pictures do not merely illustrate a fringe topic; they show how societies have tried to visualize the unknown. In that sense, Blind Magazine’s feature presents UFO photography as both artifact and argument: a body of work that captures not only alleged objects in the sky, but also the enduring human desire to find meaning in what cannot yet be explained.
An expert has shared some advice on what to do if you spot a UFO - revealing the apps that can help determine whether it's a genuine sighting or if there is a more Earthly explanation.

An expert has explained the steps to take after a UFO sighting
Mick West - who has looked into around 1,000 potential unidentified aerial phenomenon [UAP] sightings over the years - has given an insight into the steps you should take if you spot something strange in the sky revealing the apps that can help determine whether it's a genuine sighting or if there is a more Earthly explanation.
The most important factor in determining whether a sighting is genuine is having an original video - rather than a downloaded copy - and it's even better if there's audio too.
West recommends a number of apps and programs which can be used to analyse the footage including Invisor, which can display and compare technical information about video, audio, and photo files, and the took he created himself called Sitrec, which uses line of sight mapping, flight data integration and sensor recreation.
He also highlights free-to-use app FlightRadar24, which tracks the movements of aircraft and can help establish what might be up in the air at the time of the sighting.
In a piece written for Skepticalinquirer.org, West explained how he used flight tracking to determine the validity of a potential sighting which appeared as three lights "hovering over a building" in the US state of Cincinnati.
He wrote: "One of the more common sources of UAP sightings is aircraft. In decades past, UFO researchers would have to call the local airports, or even travel agents, to try to determine what planes might have been seen.
"Now plane schedules are all online, and beyond that, we can now replay the flight activity over a certain area to see what planes might have been visible ...
"In a recent example, a spotter near Cincinnati saw what looked like a triangle of three lights hovering over a building at 00:14 UTC on October 12. I suspected this was three planes heading toward the camera.
"So, I ran through the process above, and sure enough there were three planes in a row heading straight for the camera location."
West also explained that some strange goings-on in the night sky can also be explained by stars, planets, and satellites.
He added: " Celestial objects, such as stars, planets, and satellites, can be viewed on sites (or apps) such as Stellarium. This allows you to see what the night sky would look like at any time, from any position on Earth.
"Many UAP sightings are planets, bright stars (such as Sirius), or satellites. Stellarium is clunky but powerful and accurate."

The UFO 'cookbook': How the American government investigates the unexplainable
For 1,600 years, a once-thriving frontier settlement lay buried beneath Egypt's western desert. Once governed byByzantineofficials, the city was covered by drifting sand that covered the streets and markets. Now, archaeologists have uncovered fourth-century workshops, a basilica-style church in the Dakhla Oasis, and well-preserved stone homes. Scattered coins and pottery fragments tell a story of everyday life during the Byzantine Empire’s struggles to maintain power in Egypt.
A Byzantine Settlement Emerges from the Sand
Mahmoud Massoud, Director General of Dakhla Antiquities and head of the excavation mission, expressed surprise at the “rich assemblage of artifacts and the components of a fully functioning community.” Discovered in Egypt's New Valley Governorate in the Western Desert during ongoing excavations at the Ain Al-Sabil archaeological site, the settlement is now on UNESCO's Tentative List, just a step away from being added to the World Heritage List.
According to Dr. Zahran Mahdi, director of the Excavations Department at the Islamic and Coptic Antiquities Sector, it is rare to find an intact Byzantine urban settlement. Islamic, Mamluk, and Ottoman building initiatives expanded over or reused earlier Byzantine layers. Urban construction projects used unfired mud bricks, so older layers were eroded or demolished. Intact settlements are usually discovered in remote arid regions where unsuccessful settlements were abandoned.

The Byzantine period in Egypt began in 395 AD, after the death of Emperor Theodosius I. The Roman Empire was divided into eastern and western regions, and Egypt became part of the Eastern Roman, or Byzantine, Empire, though the capital, Constantinople, was hundreds of miles away. The recently discovered settlement offers a glimpse of life at a time when Roman traditions, Christian beliefs, and Egyptian culture overlapped.
Egypt was both a wealthy and strategically important province because of its thriving agriculture and grain exports. It was known as the Breadbasket of the Byzantine Empire. During the Byzantine era, Christianity changed Egypt's religious and cultural practices. Christians built churches and monasteries in urban areas. Across Egypt, towns expanded under imperial rule. Unfortunately, religious disputes between the Byzantine authorities and the Coptic Christian congregations over differing beliefs about the nature of Christ created problems. The Byzantine Empire controlled Egypt until 641 AD, when Arab Muslim forces conquered the country. Many settlements built before 620-640 AD were abandoned or buried by the desert.
Bronze Byzantine coins excavated from the Ain al-Sabil settlement, Dakhla Oasis, Egypt.
The mission from Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities discovered the Byzantine city at the Dakhla Oasis and began excavations at the Ain Al-Sabil site. Dr. Hisham El-Leithy, secretary-general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, believes the discoveries have helped researchers better understand the settlement’s urban design, social organization, and economic activities. They discovered a planned urban city, with intersecting streets, a central church, and substantial fortifications. There are open squares and courtyards throughout the settlement. The defensive structures include thick walls and two watchtowers.
Dr. Mamoud pointed out that the residential district contained many spacious homes with large halls and vaulted ceilings. Residents had bread ovens and kitchens with food storage. There were special areas with stone tools for grinding grain. One of the most impressive buildings, the home of a church deacon, Tisus, dates to the second half of the fourth century AD. Archaeologists also uncovered the house of Tapibos that served as a house-church before the construction of the basilica.
Artifacts Reveal Commercial Transactions
According to Dr. Mahdi, the most informative discovery was a collection of about 200 ostraca, or inscribed pottery fragments, written in both Coptic and Greek. They provide a record of commercial transactions, personal correspondence, and other aspects of daily life.
“One of the excavation’s most significant discoveries is a collection of nearly 200 inscribed ostraca (pottery fragments used as writing material) bearing texts in both Coptic and Greek,” Mahdi said.
The inscriptions record commercial transactions, correspondence, and other details of daily life. The discovery of a set of bronze coins featuring portraits of Byzantine emperors, Latin inscriptions, and Christian symbols, along with a group of gold coins dated to the reign of Roman Emperor Constantius II (337-361 AD), shows the changing circumstances and the residents’ connections during the Byzantine era.
The Byzantine settlement under the desert sands is quite different from Egypt’s temples and pyramids. The town was not constructed to honor kings. Rather, it was part of the lives of ordinary people. The discoveries at the Dukhla Oasis provide the information that historians need to reconstruct life in the centuries between the ancient and medieval worlds.
