Merkplaatjes, klevers en transfers
Een balhoofdplaatje is een logo van de fabrikant of het merk dat is aangebracht op de balhoofdbuis van een fietsframe. Balhoofdplaatjes werden al eind 19e eeuw toegepast en waren vaak gemaakt van metaal. Ter bevestiging aan de balhoofdbuis kunnen daarin nagels of schroeven zijn gebruikt. Bij moderne(re) fietsen kunnen tevens, al dan niet met lijm, balhoofdplaatjes van kunststof zijn aangebracht. Ook kan een balhoofdbuis voorzien zijn van een transfer/sticker.

    ROYAL KANDA-KANDA ( Belgisch Congo)

    ROYAL KANDA-KANDA -- Kanda-Kanda was een plaats in Belgisch Congo, in de provincie Kasai. Het was de hoofdplaats van het gelijknamige gewest (dus administratief belangrijk als districtshoofdplaats). Bevolking rond 1949: ongeveer 250 blanken en 125.000 inlanders. De term “inlanders” in de koloniale context refereert aan de autochtone bevolking. De “blanken” verwijst naar de Belgische kolonialen, bestuurders etc. De verhouding (250 blanken vs. 125.000 inlanders) geeft een indruk van hoe groot het gewest ongeveer was in de koloniale periode.
