Ik geef hier letterlijk het weerbericht van Schotland zoals vermeld op de National Severe Weather Warnings.
Yellow Alert for Snow untill Friday 29/04/16
A spell of persistent and at times heavy snow is expected for parts of eastern Scotland starting Thursday night and lasting into Friday. Accumulations of 5-10 cm are likely above bout 100 m with 20 cm or more possible above 200 m,where drifting of snow in strong winds could be an additional hazard.
At lower levels and near coasts an uncertain mix of rain and snow is expected, with rain likely to predominate, bringing the risk of standing ware on roads.
Please be aware of the risk of dangerous driving conditions and disruption to transport. A depression is expected to cross Scotlandon Thursday and into Friday bringing a slow-moving band of rain, sleet and snow into the area on Thursday evening. This is likely to come to a halt somewhere across eastern Scotland, tough there are difirences between models in the position which brings uncertainty about location. In addition, there are uncertainties about the lowest level to which snow will fall, which could be 100 m either side of heights quoted in the warning.
This warning will be kept under review and will be updated on Thursday. The public is advised to take extra care, further information and advice can be found here: www.meteoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings.
Het ziet er naar uit dat het weleens een extreem reisje kan gaan worden.
Indien we niet ondersneeuwen is het natuurlijk weer dagelijks te volgen op deze blog.
