When it comes to the Tic-Tac UFOs, the USS Omaha and the USS Nimitz and their pilots and crews have gotten all of the publicity. However, there have been other ships in the same area with pilots and crew members having their own encounters, and one recently came forward with a new story concerning the crafts that have the Navy, the Pentagon and politicians in Washington most concerned – underwater and transmedium ships. Is it time for the rest of us to worry too?
“I was staring into the water from above when a large, fat, white ‘Tic Tac’ object, approximately twenty feet in length, suddenly appeared in my view below me, moving right and darted into the depths as fast as it appeared. I couldn’t really comprehend what I saw. It was definitely a solid object, but when it descended, its forward end rapidly collapsed in on itself and disappeared.”

E-4 Petty Officer John Baughman was station onboard the USS Carl Vinson, a Nimitz-class supercarrier, in 2010 when the ship was in Haiti delivering humanitarian aid after that country’s devastating earthquake. At that time, Baughman was a Gunner’s mate on a break and doing what all sailor’s do on break – looking out across the main reason why they became sailors. He tells UFO researcher Ryan Sprague on the Trail of the Saucers web page that he expected to see the usual – ““Everything from sharks, dolphins and whales to giant squids, sea turtles, and swordfish.” Instead, he saw an unidentified submerged object. Being a well-trained crew member, he reported the sighting to his immediate supervisor, who told Baughman:
“Everyone sees weird shit in the ocean.”
Weird – yes, but this was not ‘shit’. While the 2004 Tic Tac encounters by the USS Nimitz were still a decade away from being exposed to the public, there’s little doubt that they were known among Navy personnel, especially crews and pilots on supercarriers. However, his superior’s response reflected the philosophy of the day – don’t talk about UFOs or you’ll be considered strange, ridiculed … or worse. Still cautious today, even after the Pentagon report confirming there are things about and below the surface that it can’t explain, Baughman told Sprague he’s not sure what it was but that shouldn’t stop anyone from reported unidentified flying or submerged objects and helping the military and private scientists and researchers figure out what they are and how to respond.

“It’s hard to come to grips with something like this, and I still feel somewhat insecure about it because it doesn’t make sense. But at the same time, more data points, even as basic as my story, could help solve the mystery of whether they’re foreign adversaries playing mind games, non-human entities, or the myriad of other possibilities.”

It’s tough to see inside of Saturn, because the atmosphere is opaque to all wavelengths of radiation. We have to rely on computer simulations and physics-based guesswork to try to understand the interior of that giant world. But researchers are becoming more adept at a different technique: looking for the slightest motions in the rings of Saturn.
The rings of Saturn are made of trillions of small bits of water ice, most small enough to fit in your hand. Each individual bit orbits Saturn in its own way, and each one is a tiny gravitational detector.
The planet Saturn isn’t just a simple, uniform ball of gas. It has complex layers and perhaps even a rocky core. Material moves up and down within the Saturnian atmosphere, and everything is in a constant state of motion.
Every time the interior of Saturn shifts, the particles of ice that make of the rings respond, affected by the new distribution of gravity. And different internal compositions of Saturn will make themselves known in the rings, because different arrangements of material will lead to different preferred orbits for ring material.
Sometimes entire waves can spread out inside the rings, or brief ripples appear in them. The analysis of the rings depends on having excellent observations of them, which we have thanks to NASA’s historic Cassini mission. That mission took countless high-resolution pictures of the rings, which astronomers can now use to try to reconstruct the interior of Saturn.
Already astronomers have used this technique, called ring seismology, to discover that the core of Saturn may be much fluffier than we previously thought. New research has found that the interior of Saturn is stratified in a stable way, meaning that it has clean, consistent boundaries between layers. Future analysis might even be able to reconstruct the entire interior structure and help explain the strange phases of matter found in that giant world.

This unidentified object was filmed over Yokosuka, a city in central Japan earlier this month (July 2021).
Witness report:
UFO appears from 1 minute 21 seconds. The place is over Yokosuka US Navy base. The weather is cloudy, but there are thunderclouds in the northeastern direction of Tokyo Bay, and the wind power is about 0 to 1. It looks like it is flying at a fairly high speed while shining. The navigation light is not blinking because it is not an airplane or helicopter.
A group of researchers has solved a mystery that has lingered for 40 years of how Jupiter produces bursts of x-rays every few minutes. The team says the x-rays are part of Jupiter’s aurora, which are bursts of visible and invisible light occurring when charged particles interact with the atmosphere of the massive planet. On Earth, auroras happened as well and are more commonly known as the northern lights.
However, Jupiter’s aurora is much more powerful than the Aurora here on Earth. Jupiter releases hundreds of gigawatts of energy with its aurora, which is enough to power the entirety of human civilization briefly. The new study was published recently, and researchers combined close observations of Jupiter’s environment gathered by the NASA Juno satellite orbiting the planet with simultaneous x-ray measurements taken from the ESA XMM-Newton Observatory orbiting Earth.
The team discovered that x-ray flares were triggered by periodic vibrations of magnetic field lines. The vibrations create plasma waves that send heavy ion particles “surfing” along the magnetic field lines until they smash into the planet’s atmosphere. When they smash into the atmosphere, they release energy in the form of x-rays. Co-lead author Dr. William Dunn says that astronomers have seen Jupiter produce x-ray aurora for decades but didn’t know how it happened.
Previously, scientists only knew they were produced when ions crashed into the atmosphere of the planet. Thanks to the new study, they now know plasma waves transport the ions. This is the first time an explanation has been proposed despite similar processes producing aurora here on Earth. Scintists believe since similar processes are at play on earth and Jupiter, the phenomenon could be universal across many different environments in space. Jupiter produces x-ray auroras regularly at its north and south poles every 27 minutes.

As NASA prepares for man’s first mission to Mars, it is curious that it has not set foot on the Moon since 1972, let alone establish a base there.
Astronauts and many researchers have claimed that this is because bases already exist on the lunar surface … and, in fact, they are not human bases.
Former NASA Communications Systems chief Maurice Chatelain confirmed in 1979 that Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin had seen two UFOs on the rim of a crater during the Apollo 11 lunar mission in the summer of 1969.
“The encounter was common knowledge at NASA,” Chatelain said, “but no one has talked about it until now,” he added. According to Armstrong, the aliens would have “warned them to stay away” from the Moon.
Former NASA employee Otto Binder said an unidentified radio receiver intercepted NASA broadcast channels and captured the following exchange:
“NASA: What’s up? Mission control calling Apollo 11 … “
“Apollo: These” babies “are huge, sir! Huge! OH MY GOD! You won’t believe it! I’m saying there are other spaceships out there, lined up on the other side of the crater rim! They are on the moon watching us! “
During the journey of Apollo 17 , NASA’s last mission to the Moon in 1972, only CBS was covering the live broadcast as the rover traversed the lunar surface.
NASA operators on Earth began directing the television camera, mounted on the mobile vehicle, to obtain a panoramic view of the lunar surface.
There was a 4 second delay between the movements of the TV camera and the controls operated from the Earth, due to the distance between the Earth and the Moon.
As the camera scanned the landscape, it suddenly captured what looked like a huge rectangular building in the distance.
CBS host Walter Cronkite was stunned and exclaimed, “It looks like a man-made object!”
Almost immediately, the live broadcast along with Cronkite’s was cut off and replaced by an earlier recording labeled “recorded earlier today”.
Twenty minutes later Walter returned to the air and, bewildered, told viewers that the so-called “man-made object” was just part of the moon rover.
However, the video was never aired again, nor was the incident mentioned again on television, nor in any document known to the public… until now.
It seems that one of NASA’s responsibilities is to control what information the public can and cannot see.
Former NASA employee Dona Hare explained that she and her colleagues were responsible for airbrushing evidence of alien activity in our skies and on the lunar surface.
Dona asked her colleague one day: “What are you going to do with this information? ‘We have to airbrush this…’ People who told me it was a cover-up… said, ‘Never say I said it or I’ll say I didn’t.’
However, it appears that images of so-called “alien activity” on the Moon have leaked anyway. On October 1, 2010, China launched its Chang’e-2 Moon into orbit.
The widely disputed claims said that the orbiter’s cameras captured what appears to be a facility on the lunar surface.
It was later said that the photos were not taken by Chang’e-2 , but were from NASA’s own archives, although this could not be confirmed as the photo lacked the registration number.
Could the Chinese government have intentionally (possibly subversively) leaked a NASA photo before they had a chance to control it?
In fact, much of this evidence is corroborated by the claims of numerous high-level officials, such as a former US Air Force employee named Karl Wolf, who came to possess a “top secret cryptological” security clearance.
He revealed that an NSA employee told him: “We have discovered a base on the back of the moon.” Wolf added: “And then he took out one of these [maps] and showed this base, which had geometric shapes.”
“There were towers; There were spherical buildings… they are huge. Some of the structures are half a kilometer long. They are huge structures, ”he commented.

A trove of nearly two petabytes of data was released on Thursday from ‘the most the most comprehensive survey yet of radio emissions from the plane of the Milky Way galaxy and the region around its central black hole’, which SETI is encouraging the public to sift through.

The project, called Breakthrough Listen, is being supported by a grant from Yuro Milner, an Israeli-Russian billionaire who told the American Association for the Advancement of Science: ‘For the whole of human history, we had a limited amount of data to search for life beyond Earth.’
‘Now, we are getting a lot of data, we can do real science – and, with making this data available to the general public, so can anyone ho wants to know the answer to this deep question.’
Many scientists believe the first beings found in distant worlds will be in the form on tiny bacteria that live under rocks on Mars or in the icey ocean of Saturn’s moon Titan.

SETI is forming partnerships all over the world in its search for alien life, as in October the group announced its alliance with NASA to use its Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellites (TESS) to search for 'technosignatures' in deep space.
The partnership between NASA and SETI was announced at the International Astronautical Congress in Washington, DC.
The TESS and Listen collaboration will expand Breakthrough Listen's target list (adding over 1000 'objects of interest' identified by TESS); refine Listen's analysis strategy (for example, utilizing new knowledge about planetary alignments to predict when transmissions might be more likely to occur); and provide more meaningful statistics in the event of non-detections.

The captured data will be analyzed for 'technosignatures', which are created by technologies of advanced civilizations and come in different forms such as radio waves, transmitters and propulsion devices.

Researchers will also be on the lookout for anomalies in the stellar 'light curves' TESS collects, as such oddities could be caused by orbiting megastructures built by advanced civilizations.
And the organization already has its eyes on a few targets – specifically interstellar visitors Oumuamua and Borisov.
Dr. Andrew Siemion, leader of the Breakthrough Listen science team said 'The discovery by the Kepler spacecraft of Boyajian's Star, an object with wild, and apparently random, variations in its lightcurve, sparked great excitement and a range of possible explanations, of which megastructures were just one.'
WHAT IS THE VLA TELESCOPE?
The Very Large Array (VLA) is telescope found in new Mexico, US and is a collection of 27 antennae in New Mexico.
The VLA comprises twenty-seven 25-meter radio telescopes deployed in a Y-shaped array and all the equipment, instrumentation, and computing power to function as an interferometer.
Each of 27 dishes has diameter of 82 feet (25 meters) and weighs 230 tons (209 metric tons).
It was first seen in 2016 by the Very Large Array (VLA) telescope in New Mexico using radio signals (pictured). The scientists concluded that this was not a 'brown dwarf' or a failed star, but a free-floating planet
The VLA stands at an elevation of 6970 ft (2124 m) above sea level. It is a component of the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO).
It is designed to pickup radio signals and help spot young planets from outside our Solar System.
It works in conjunction with the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) telescope in Chile.
'Followup observations have suggested that dust particles in orbit around the star are responsible for the dimming, but studies of anomalies like this are expanding our knowledge of astrophysics, as well as casting a wider net in the search for technosignatures.'
TESS is expected to find up to 10,000 new planets, many of them considerably closer to Earth than those spotted by Kepler.
In April of 2018, SpaceX launched NASA's $337 million TESS into space, which is equipped with four cameras that allows it to view 85 percent of the entire sky, as it searches exoplanets orbiting stars less than 300 light-years away.
Two months ago, TESS discovered was deemed a super-Earth exoplanet just around 31 light years away in the in the so-called habitable zone, an area far enough from its star to not be too hot but close enough to not be too cold.
In this region, it is possible for liquid water to exist on the surface of a planet if it is rocky, although further research is needed to work out whether GJ 357 d's atmosphere is dense and warm enough to host liquid water.
WHAT IS THE TESS SPACECRAFT?
NASA's new 'planet hunter,' set to be Kepler's successor, is equipped with four cameras that will allow it to view 85 per cent of the entire sky, as it searches exoplanets orbiting stars less than 300 light-years away.
By studying objects much brighter than the Kepler targets, it's hoped TESS could uncover new clues on the possibility of life elsewhere in the universe.
Its four wide-field cameras will view the sky in 26 segments, each of which it will observe one by one.
In its first year of operation, it will map the 13 sectors that make up the southern sky.
Then, the following year, it will scour the northern sectors.
'We learned from Kepler that there are more planets than stars in our sky, and now TESS will open our eyes to the variety of planets around some of the closest stars,' said Paul Hertz, Astrophysics Division director at NASA's Headquarters.
'TESS will cast a wider net than ever before for enigmatic worlds whose properties can be probed by NASA's upcoming James Webb Space Telescope and other missions.'
Tess is 5 feet (1.5 meters) wide and is shorter than most adults.
The observatory is 4 feet across (1.2 meters), not counting the solar wings, which are folded for launch, and weighs just 800 pounds (362 kilograms).
NASA says it's somewhere between the size of a refrigerator and a stacked washer and dryer.
Tess will aim for a unique elongated orbit that passes within 45,000 miles of Earth on one end and as far away as the orbit of the moon on the other end.

SCIENTISTS HAVE SPENT YEARS hunting for alien life by listening in on the radio signals that bombard our planet from outer space to see if they can detect transmissions beamed using extraterrestrial technology.
But this search method has a flaw: It relies on what we can easily spot, in other words, radio signals. What if a highly developed alien civilization has figured out a way to communicate instead in encrypted code using particles of light?
This question is not the stuff of sci-fi. In fact, it is at the heart of a recent preprint study that makes the case for expanding our search for extraterrestrial life to include quantum communication.
Quantum communication uses the properties of quantum physics to relay encrypted messages from point A to point B.
This is a technology that aliens may have already conquered.
Ravi Kopparapu, a researcher at NASA’s Goddard Spaceflight Center, explains to Inverse that scientists typically look for signs of alien technology based on what we have right now on Earth. As quantum communication becomes increasingly sophisticated here on Earth, it would be a good one to add to the arsenal, he says.
“I would say it’s a good way to communicate and send a lot of information to another civilization,” Kopparapu says. “So it’s an interesting idea to propose.”
WHAT’S NEW
The idea is essentially to create a new focus for a so-called “quantum SETI.”
For more than 60 years, the modern search for extraterrestrial life has focused on detecting technosignatures from foreign worlds. SETI (Search for ExtraTerrestrial Intelligence) is a series of interrelated programs looking for intelligent life beyond our solar system.

As scientists look for alien life today, they may want to add signals of quantum communication to their list of so-called “technosignatures” — the signals that reveal technology must be at play.
The recent study suggests that since quantum communication is developing on Earth, then scientists should soon add it to the list of signals to look out for from alien civilizations.
“I argue that future searches should also target quantum communications,” Michael Hippke, a researcher at Sonneberg Observatory and lead scientist of the new research, writes in the preprint.
“They are preferred over classical communications with regards to security and information efficiency, and they would have escaped detection in all previous searches.”
HERE’S THE BACKGROUND
SETI’s focus has been on radio signals. But now that humans have established quantum communication between cities on Earth, it may be worth looking for these encrypted signals beyond our planet, too.
In 2017 China inaugurated the first long-distance quantum communication landline in the world, connecting the capital city of China with the coastal city of Shanghai.
In quantum systems, data is transferred through photons — units of light known as quantum bits or qubits.
The quantum properties of qubits are linked in pairs, and those pairs are generated in random order. The pairs that are shared between the two parties spell out a secret phrase, which is then used to encrypt a follow-up data transmission.
Quantum communication systems use single photons that are encoded in a quantum superposition state, where particles can be thought of as waves. These encoded photons are then sent to distant locations.
Through this mechanism of encoding and decoding, two distant parties share a string of random bits called “secret keys” which are used to encrypt and decrypt these confidential messages.

CAN ALIENS USE QUANTUM COMMUNICATION?
Although quantum communication hasn’t really taken root on Earth, a distant alien civilization that is slightly more advanced than humans may have developed the technology to send encrypted messages through photons by now.
Quantum communications, via photons, can travel large distances across the universe, transcending from one star system to another, the same way that interstellar dust and grains can reach different planets.
“WE CAN’T HIDE.”
In order to detect these signals, the paper suggests that existing telescopes can be used to detect photons. The author also suggests using a femtosecond photon counter that would reveal the time stamps at which the photons are sent out — but that device, unfortunately, is yet to be invented.
WHY IT MATTERS
Some may be wary that by intercepting an encoded message, humans are exposing themselves on Earth.
This alien civilization, according to Kopparapu, may have already developed a space telescope similar to the James Webb Telescope, launching in October, which would be able to detect life on distant worlds far in the universe.
“There are also other kinds of civilization activities we might be looking at where they might be building big huge structures that can go in front of a star and block the star’s light, which would give us some clue about the structure and what kind of objects they would be constructing,” he says.
Kopparapu suggests that if humans are able to intercept a quantum communication signal, then it is likely that the civilization responsible for it already knows of our own existence.
“If someone is communicating with quantum technology, I think they may already know we are here,” Kopparapu says.
The risk of exposing humanity by intercepting an encrypted code, whereby the sender would know that the signal was intercepted, does not really make a difference at this point, he says.
“It's like a kid closing their eyes and trying to hide,” he says. “We can’t hide.”

The modern search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) began with the seminal publications of Cocconi & Morrison (1959) and Schwartz & Townes (1961), who proposed to search for narrow-band signals in the radio spectrum, and for optical laser pulses. Over the last six decades, more than one hundred dedicated search programs have targeted these wavelengths; all with null results. All of these campaigns searched for classical communications, that is, for a significant number of photons above a noise threshold; with the assumption of a pattern encoded in time and/or frequency space. I argue that future searches should also target quantum communications. They are preferred over classical communications with regards to security and information efficiency, and they would have escaped detection in all previous searches. The measurement of Fock state photons or squeezed light would indicate the artificiality of a signal. I show that quantum coherence is feasible over interstellar distances, and explain for the first time how astronomers can search for quantum transmissions sent by ETI to Earth, using commercially available telescopes and receiver equipment.
Antarctica may seem like a static environment: a still, white landscape frozen motionlessly into place.
But much more is going on under the ice than we realize – even if you have to travel all the way to space to tell for sure.
Over a decade ago, scientists made just such a discovery, when an analysis of data from NASA's ICESat satellite revealed that variations in ice elevation in West Antarctica reflected a vast mass of subglacial water movement underneath the ice sheet.
Prior to the discovery, it had been thought that hidden meltwater lakes – deeply concealed at the bottom of the ice sheet, where the ice meets the continental bedrock underneath – existed in isolation, cut off from one another.
But in 2007, researchers found that fluctuations in the height of Antarctica's surface ice signified the movement of water flowing between a hidden network of subglacial lakes, which alternately fill and drain before their water escapes to the Southern Ocean.

Now, the ICESat mission's follow-up – ICESat-2, launched in 2018 – is giving scientists an even keener glimpse at this mysterious, deeply buried lake network, while revealing two lakes never before discovered.
"The discovery of these interconnected systems of lakes at the ice-bed interface that are moving water around, with all these impacts on glaciology, microbiology, and oceanography – that was a big discovery from the ICESat mission," says glaciologist Matthew Siegfried from the Colorado School of Mines.
"ICESat-2 is like putting on your glasses after using ICESat, the data are such high precision that we can really start to map out the lake boundaries on the surface."
In a new study, Siegfried and fellow researchers compiled altimetry data from ICESat-2 and the original ICESat mission, along with measurements taken from CryoSat-2, an ice-observing satellite operated by the European Space Agency (ESA).
By combining the datasets – encompassing the period from 2003 to 2020 – the researchers are able to monitor active subglacial lakes at timescales shorter than ICESat-2's repeat cycle (the 91-day gap before it can observe the same region again).
"Surface deformation due to active subglacial lakes filling and draining provides one of the few remotely accessible windows into the evolution of basal water systems; these systems are otherwise hidden beneath up to 4 km [2.5 miles] of ice and remain one of the major physical uncertainties on projections of future ice sheet dynamics," the researchers write in their paper.
"ICESat-2 laser altimetry can not only extend the record of subglacial lake activity but also provides better understanding of hydrological processes by capturing denser and more precise spatial detail."
In addition to giving us a more detailed look at the activity and outlines of known subglacial lakes in Antarctica – of which there are over 130 already documented – the analysis found two anomalies that appear to be hidden lakes, previously undetected.
These potentially active lakes – called Lower Conway Subglacial Lake (LSLC) and Lower Mercer Subglacial Lake (LSLM), lie near previously discovered lakes, and may have been missed by the original ICESat mission, falling within the narrow gaps between its observations.
In this region – underneath the Mercer and Whillans ice streams in West Antarctica – the lake system, which is dominated by two large active subglacial lakes (Conway Subglacial Lake and Mercer Subglacial Lake), appears to be in the midst of its third drainage event since ICESat observations began in 2003.
Just a few weeks ago, one of the same researchers involved here – glaciologist Helen Fricker from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography – co-authored a related study, detailing a dramatic lake drainage event in East Antarctica, where a surface lake on a floating ice shelf vanished in the space of days.
Far below the ice sheet in West Antarctica, the water draining from subglacial lakes is also thought to eventually flow into the ocean, although the concealed escape route is much harder to visualize.
"These are processes that are going on under Antarctica that we wouldn't have a clue about if we didn't have satellite data," Fricker says.
"We've been struggling with getting good predictions about the future of Antarctica, and instruments like ICESat-2 are helping us observe at the process scale."
I’m sure that everyone has had a dream that didn’t seem quite right. A dream that didn’t seem like an everyday dream. The kind of dream that came across like an absolute nightmare. And, in some cases, the nightmare went on and on. In September 2014, I received the details of such a dream from an Englishwoman named Sandra Green. Only hours after briefly seeing a cigar-shaped UFO hovering near Stonehenge, Wiltshire, England on December 25, 1985, Sandra – who was driving home, in the early hours, after a late night Christmas Eve party in the English city of Bath – had a bizarre dream. In it, three Men in Black warned Sandra to keep her nose out of UFOs. They were – as they usually are – cadaverous “slightly dead”-looking MIB. As for the warning, it was one of those “or else”-type threats that the MIB are so skilled at making. The dream was so graphic it led Sandra to believe that the MIB had the ability to literally get inside her dreams, manipulate those very same dreams, and issue a bone-chilling warning – one which she has still not forgotten. Now, it’s time to tackle another creepy dream. It’s a story that goes back to October 2014. The Hat Man is a Man in Black-type thing that appears in shadowy form; not unlike the infamous Shadow People – to whom the Hat Man is almost certainly related, even if we’re not sure why. On many occasions, however, the Hat Man appears in regular, human form, with a black beard and a black suit, and wearing a long overcoat or a cloak –always black, too. I know this, as I have investigated many such incidents. Most noticeable about this creepy figure is, of course, his hat. Sometimes, it’s a fedora, other times it’s an old style top hat. Occasionally, it’s more like a cowboy hat. But, regardless of the kind of headgear, it’s always present and always black. Many of the encounters occur while the victim is in a distinct altered state – that of sleeping.
Angie had just such an encounter in Leominster, Massachusetts, on September 6, 1994, as she told me late on the evening of October 8, 2014. Her reason for contacting me was due to the fact that, quite out of the blue, she had suddenly begun to dream of the events of twenty years earlier – and dream of them almost every night for the last couple of weeks. Very much like those people unfortunate enough to be confronted by the somewhat similar Slenderman – the ultimate Internet meme come to life in Tulpa form – Angie was sleeping when the mysterious thing disturbed her sleep by manifesting in her bedroom and staring at her with a menacing grin on its pale, ghoulish face. For a few moments, Angie was unable to move. As she finally broke the spell of paralysis, however, the Hat Man was gone.
Then, on February 28, 2016, and on checking my email around 8:30 a.m., I received a story from a woman named Belinda. She had a traumatic dream two nights earlier: she encountered a Man in Black wearing shiny black gloves. In the dream, the MIB pursued her along an old railroad track – one that was seemingly never-ending. Only when the MIB was within a few feet of her did Belinda wake up with an ear-piercing scream. Something which Belinda’s husband attested to. She had no involvement in the UFO subject, or that of the paranormal. Belinda sought me out. Good friend and psychic Kim Rackley had a story to share, too. Here’s how it goes: “Being a medium I am not fearful of the supernatural or unearthly, but there is one thing that has filled me with terror since I was a child and that is the MIB. I’ve told the story of my repetitive MIB encounters before but it suffers repeating because I believe it is significant to the most recent encounter. From the time I was 8 and witnessed a glowing figure slightly similar to a grey walking down the hallway of my home, I have been subject to frequent MIB visits. These visits are always from the same two men, mostly in my dream state until I began realizing my abilities as a medium and then the visits would occur in meditation or altered states of consciousness.”
In the summer of 2016, UFO researcher and radio-show host, Tracie Austin, invited me and David Weatherly to be on her show. The plan was to have Tracie first interview us separately: I would be interviewed on the MIB and David on the Black-Eyed Children. And, then, there would be a round-table discussion on both phenomena, noting the undeniable links between the two. A date was soon fixed: September 22. Both David and I flew in on the same morning and spent the afternoon hanging out at our hotel. The high-strangeness wasn’t just limited to the show, however. Tracie herself had a trio of stories of her own to relate to me. They were, of course, as bizarre as they were disturbing. She told me: “With me doing the show on the Black-Eyed Kids, I was reading David’s book every day before we did the show. So, it was on my mind. And it only happened the one time, but I had this dream that we had a friend over and there was a knock at the door, and the friend that came over opened the door. And I saw a black-eyed kid standing at the door; one single boy. And the friend asked him to come in, and I said “No, no, no; you can’t let him in!” But, he wandered in, slightly. It was a kid with a hoodie and jeans; the typical kid. And I pushed him out the door and said again, “No, you can’t let him in!” It shook me a bit when I woke up.”
One of the people whose studies I focused upon was Samuel Hatfield, a psychic. In his own words: “Why would someone purposefully invade someone else’s dream? Well, there are a number of reasons; the chief among them is to influence someone’s thinking. Much of what occurs in a dream is left in the subconscious or unconscious mind. The subconscious / unconscious mind influences much of our daily lives. It governs the automatic responses and processes such as memory, motivation, instinct, and even emotional reaction. Purposeful invaders often seek to influence these things to invoke particular responses in others. They do this by entering the lucid dream, or even pulling someone into their own dream and implanting thought forms to condition the subject.”
I could go on and on with such accounts involving black-garbed characters and who are intent on getting into our dreams. The skeptics would likely say that it’s all down to bad dreams. Frankly, though, I don’t think that’s all it is. There’s something else going on, too. But, I freely admit I don’t know what that “it” is. Maybe, you do…

We’ve had UFO reports by military pilots, Navy ship crews, commercial airline pilots, astronauts and other reputable witnesses who are trained to spend a lot of time scanning the skies for unusual occurrences. It’s time to here from another one – the captain of a cruise ship. And not just any cruise ship captain – this one was good enough to break through the glass ceiling to become the first American woman to captain a ship for a major cruise line – and the first of any gender to return to the seas after the pandemic shutdown. She’s Captain Kate McCue and has quite a story to share.
“I was looking at a beautiful sunset when someone suddenly said to me – “Hey, what is it there?” I looked up into the sky and saw it. It looked like a huge jellyfish.”
On a video posted on YouTube on July 3, 2021, Captain Kate McCue shows a clip of her UFO sighting, which was posted to her Instagram page exactly one year before. McCue is currently the captain of the Celebrity Edge, part of the Celebrity Cruises fleet, but her experience on the high seas goes far beyond cruises. After graduating from the California State University Maritime Academy with a degree in business administration, she studied celestial navigation on sailing ships, interned on a banana cargo ship for Chiquita Brands International and worked as a general deck hand on a tourist catamaran before progressing through the ranks with Disney Cruise Line to staff captain (second in command on a ship).

McCue was hired by Celebrity Cruises and appointed in 2015 as the commanding officer of Celebrity Summit, making her the first American woman to command a modern “mega ship”. Captain McCue moved to the Celebrity Edge in 2019.
“Then the object began to descend, about 400 meters from the stern of our ship and plunged into the water. We even thought to lower the lifeboat, but there was nothing on the water, no debris, it just sank into the water and disappeared.”
McCue has become a social media star, so her bosses were well aware that she posted the UFO encounter on her Instagram page, which led to the interview with Cruise Reviews uploaded to YouTube.

Not a bird either
Captain McCue refers to other witnesses but she’s the only one in the interview. That doesn’t lessen her credibility, and many comments on the video point out that cruise ship captains reporting UFOs suffer the same ridicule as military ship commanders, personnel and pilots. Her celebrity status should get her encounter more exposure, yet this seems to be the first outside of her own Instagram page. One could surmise it’s because she’s a woman, although at least one female military pilot has shared her UFO story to the mass media. It could also be because the video is brief and the UFO far off in the distance – but that hasn’t stopped the infamous tic-tacs from gaining credibility.
We’ll keep an eye on Captain Kate McCue as she returns to the seas in hopes she shares more and/or has additional UAP encounters.
Yesterday’s article from me was on a very controversial issue: how a number of potentially important files concerning “radiation experiments” dating back to the 1940s can no longer be found. They’re gone. Not to be seen anymore. Etc., etc. Today, I’m going to demonstrate how certain, possibly notable, papers concerning UFOs have vanished. I’ll begin with the Roswell affair. On July 28, 1995, the Government Accountability Office’s report on the Roswell affair surfaced from its National Security and International Affairs Division. The GAO’s report did not provide any smoking-guns – such as old B&W photos of dead bodies and wreckage at the crash-site on the Foster Ranch, New Mexico. The report did, however, provide something interesting and controversial. A wealth of papers from the Roswell base were missing. As the Government Accountability Office (back then, the General Accounting Office) said:

“In addition to unit history reports, we also searched for other government records on the Roswell crash. In this regard, the Chief Archivist for the National Personnel Records Center provided us with documentation indicating that (1) RAAF records such as finance and accounting, supplies, buildings and grounds, and other general administrative matters from March 1945 through December 1949 and (2) RAAF outgoing messages from October 1946 through December 1949 were destroyed.” When the GAO demanded to know the reasons behind this development, they got an answer, as GAO files note: “According to this official [the Chief Archivist for the National Personnel Records Center], the document disposition form did not properly indicate the authority under which the disposal action was taken. The Center’s Chief Archivist stated that from his personal experience, many of the Air Force organizational records covering this time period were destroyed without entering a citation for the governing disposition authority. Our review of records control forms showing the destruction of other records – including outgoing RAAF messages for 1950 – supports the Chief Archivist’s viewpoint.”
Some Ufologists believe this is evidence that the government (a) destroyed the files to prevent people, today, learning more of the Roswell affair; and/or (b) because of something else; something that went back to as far back as 1945 and, therefore, can’t be relevant, because the Roswell event occurred in 1947. Whatever the truth of the matter, it still comes down to one thing: a significant number of files from the Roswell base from the 1940s cannot be located. Now, onto another famous UFO case: Between December 26 and 29, 1980, multiple UFO encounters occurred within Rendlesham Forest, Suffolk, England that involved military personnel from the nearby Royal Air Force stations of Bentwaters and Woodbridge. According to numerous U.S. Air Force operatives, a small, triangular-shaped object was seen maneuvering in the forest – as were, some said, near-spectral, alien-style entities. And although the incident has been the subject of a significant number of books, intense media coverage and even parliamentary questioning, it continues to provoke furious debate within the UFO research community. And that debate was reignited only very recently when it emerged that certain files on the affair – that originated within the murky world of defense-intelligence – appear to be “unavailable.”
In a July 31, 1994 lecture at Leeds, England, Colonel Charles Halt, (USAF), one of those that had witnessed the strange object in Rendlesham Forest) divulged his recollections of what had occurred fourteen-years previously. During the course of his lecture, Halt astounded the audience by revealing something that had been hitherto unknown: an unscheduled C141 transporter aircraft arrived at Woodbridge just hours after the initial encounter, and a group of “special individuals” departed from the aircraft, headed straight out of Woodbridge’s East Gate, and disappeared into the forest. It should be noted, too, that the C141 is a huge aircraft, fully equipped to carry freight, vehicle payloads and troops. With all of that activity going on, you would think at least some files would be created. Nothing has appeared yet, though.
Moving onto Australia, in the summer of 2011, the Australian Department of Defense admitted to having misplaced a UFO file that should have been packed with reports. Natalie Carpenter, of the nation’s Freedom of Information Office, responded to media inquiries by stating that, “The files could not be located and Headquarters Air Command formally advised that this file is deemed lost.” UFO researcher-author Whitley Strieber made a very good observation, on June 6, 2011: “Last week, the Australian government announced that it has ‘lost’ its UFO files. Thus it joins the United States, which ‘lost’ all the files relating to the Roswell AFB dating from 1947 through 1952, and the United Kingdom, which recently announced that it has ‘lost’ all the files relating to the Rendlesham Forest UFO Case.” Hmm.

If it were’t for an enormous halo of dark matter enveloping our galaxy, the spin-rate of our central bar should stay pretty constant. But researchers have recently inferred that it has slowed down by almost 25% since its formation, a clear sign of the presence of dark matter.
How do you measure the spin-rate of something that takes millions of years to make a single revolution?
Stars near the center of the galaxy are much richer in “metals”, which is the word astronomers use to denote any element heavier than helium. Stars in the outskirts, however, are much more lacking in metals. Therefor, if you happen to come across a group of stars that is exceptionally rich in metals, then it most likely wandered away from the center of the galaxy.
That’s the case for the Hercules stream, a large group of stars observed with the Gaia satellite. The Hercules stream is a metal-rich clump of stars, but sits relatively far from the galactic center. There’s something else intriguing about the Hercules steam: it’s locked in a gravitational dance with the central bar of the Milky Way.
Much like the Trojan asteroids of the solar system lead and follow Jupiter in its orbit around the sun, the Hercules steam is captures by a unique combination of gravitational forces. As the central bar sweeps around, so does the Hercules stream.
So the Hercules stream follows the motion of the central bar, and the stars of the Hercules stream have migrated outwards to their present position over the past few billion years.
The only way for the Hercules stream to move outwards is for the central bar to be slowing down. As the spin-rate of the bar drops, the Hercules stream has to move outwards to match the period.
Putting it all together, a team of astronomers estimates that the spin-rate of the bar has dropped by 24% since the formation of the Milky Way, as published in a new study.
Co-author Dr Ralph Schoenrich (UCL Mullard Space Science Laboratory) said: “Astrophysicists have long suspected that the spinning bar at the centre of our galaxy is slowing down, but we have found the first evidence of this happening.
“The counterweight slowing this spin must be dark matter. Until now, we have only been able to infer dark matter by mapping the gravitational potential of galaxies and subtracting the contribution from visible matter.
“Our research provides a new type of measurement of dark matter – not of its gravitational energy, but of its inertial mass (the dynamical response), which slows the bar’s spin.”
Co-author and PhD student Rimpei Chiba, of the University of Oxford, said: “Our finding offers a fascinating perspective for constraining the nature of dark matter, as different models will change this inertial pull on the galactic bar.
“Our finding also poses a major problem for alternative gravity theories – as they lack dark matter in the halo, they predict no, or significantly too little slowing of the bar.”

How do you measure the spin-rate of something that takes millions of years to make a single revolution?
