Two jiboias, about two meters long, were rescued by municipal guards of the Environmental Defense Group on Thursday (march 29). One of the snakes was on the rocks of Prainha, in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, and the other on the roof of a restaurant in the access to Praia do Abricó, in Grumari, West Zone of Rio.
Rescue of the animals was done after the request of a bather and rescue firefighters, through the Citizen Assistance Center of the City Hall of Rio. After the rescue, the snakes were released by guards in natural habitat in Prainha Park.
The Municipal Guard warns that the population must activate the agents of the Environmental Patrol if they catch such animals for a safe rescue. The handling is not advisable, much less try to frighten them, as it can aggravate any lesion that the animals present.

Een van de slangen bevond zich op de rotsen van Prainha, in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, en de andere op het dak van een restaurant in de toegang tot Praia do Abricó, in Grumari, West-zone van Rio.
Redding van de dieren werd gedaan na het verzoek van een bader en reddingsbrigade, via het Citizen Assistance Centre van het stadhuis van Rio. Na de redding werden de slangen bevrijd door bewakers in natuurlijke habitat in Prainha Park.
