NASA Claim “Dozens” Of Advanced Civilisations Existed Before Us

A new NASA study reveals that dozens of ancient advanced civilisations much like ours once existed on Earth, but they all came to an abrupt end.

The study suggests that humanity as we know it could come to an end in the next few decades based on the patterns observed with these previous civilisations.

If we look back in history, 3000 – 5000 years, we will find a historical record that clearly shows us how advanced and complex civilizations were just as susceptible to collapse as we are today. This ongoing pattern has led researchers to question the future existence of society and civilization as we know.

If we were to look back further back in time, over 10,000 years, we would encounter evidence of advanced civilizations that possibly predate the Pre-Inca, Olmec, and Ancient Egyptian civilization, not to mention other advanced ancient civilizations in ancient Mesopotamia.

It is difficult to overlook the repeating patterns identified by scholars in most of these civilizations and the NASA funded study is clear evidence of the path ancient civilizations on EArth have taken for thousands of years. This is considered by many people as a sign that clearly states that ancient civilizations have reset a number of times.

These factors have kept on repeating themselves and have been the culprit for ancient civilizations before us.  In the report, applied mathematician Safa Motesharri and his “Human and Nature Dynamical” model claims that “the process of rise-and-collapse is actually a recurrent cycle found throughout history.”

"The fall of the Roman Empire, and the equally (if not more) advanced Han, Mauryan, and Gupta Empires, as well as so many advanced Mesopotamian Empires, are all testimony to the fact that advanced, sophisticated, complex, and creative civilizations can be both fragile and impermanent.”

The study came to the conclusion that there are two key social features that contributed to the collapse of every single advanced civilization from the past: “the stretching of resources due to the strain placed on the ecological carrying capacity”; and “the economic stratification of society into Elites [rich] and Masses (or “Commoners”) [poor]” These social phenomena have played “a central role in the character or in the process of the collapse,” in all such cases over “the last five thousand years.”

Even though our civilizations is at a very advanced technological stage, this does not necessarily mean that we are saved from imminent chaos. In the study we find that “Technological change can raise the efficiency of resource use, but it also tends to raise both per capita resource consumption and the scale of resource extraction, so that, absent policy effects, the increases in consumption often compensate for the increased efficiency of resource use.”

One of the best examples of advanced ancient civilizations disappearing can be found in Mesoamerica.

If we take a look at the ancient Maya who were an extremely advanced ancient civilization we find that several factors played a crucial role for this once great empire to crumble eventually. While most researchers would agree that Deforestation, Famine and Drought where some of the key components in the failure of the ancient Maya, we find a similar pattern in other civilizations, not only I the Americas, but around the globe.

Motesharrei and his colleagues conclude that under conditions “closely reflecting the reality of the world today… we find that collapse is difficult to avoid.” In the first of these scenarios, civilization:

“…. appears to be on a sustainable path for quite a long time, but even using an optimal depletion rate and starting with a very small number of Elites, the Elites eventually consume too much, resulting in a famine among Commoners that eventually causes the collapse of society. It is important to note that this Type-L collapse is due to an inequality-induced famine that causes a loss of workers, rather than a collapse of Nature.”

Hi ken, I hope all is well. I was sky watching when I spotted a mystery object that was hanging in the sky. I  managed to take one photograph of this object before it moved off into the distance at incredible speed. When I later looked at the photograph I could see what appears to be a small alien being that appears to be sticking it’s head and body out of the side of the UFO. This is very strange as there are no visible signs of a door or window on the UFO. what’s even more strange is the alien being appears to be wearing a hat. WTF. I have taken some really strange photographs and have had many strange experiences in my lifetime. You Just couldn’t make this up it’s truly bizarre. The photograph was taken on the 28th of may ‎2016 at 12:19 PM GMT at Newton Abbot Devon UK. Newton Abbot seems to be a hot bed for strange activity.

I have seen a similar alien before three years ago in fact. One morning I was on my way to work and had a strange encounter. It was 4.30 am in the morning and it was pitch black. All the street lights were out because the council were trying to save money by switching them all off at night.

Because there were no street lights, I carried a small LED torch so I could see were I was walking. It was a cold morning and I had just walked past the local church and cemetery when I heard a loud crash that seemed to come from further down the road. I continued walking in that direction and heard another loud crashing sound. I turned my LED torch in the direction of the crashing sound. I could see all the dustbins were knocked over and there was a midget in a parka coat standing there looking towards the bins. The bins had been emptied the day before so there was no rubbish. The midget noticed my presence and turned towards me. I could see that the midget’s parka coat hood was pulled really tight around his head and face. I could barely see his face. He looked strange…

There was something not quite right about him. We stood there face to face for a second before I plucked up the courage to say something. I said morning. There was no response from the midget. With that the midget turned back around to where he had originally been facing. The midget then started to stand the bins up one by one until the bins were in a row. The midget then started laughing in a very strange squeaky voice and then ran at the bins with all his might knocking the bins flying in different directions. I looked on bemused as the midget started to stand the bins again. The midget then ran at the bins once again. I then shouted what the F**K are you doing! With that there was an intense bright white light that lit up the housing estate like it was a summer’s day. The light was so bright it hurt my eyes.

After what seemed like a couple of seconds the light went out. It was pitch black again and I shone my LED torch over the area where the midget had been standing but the midget was no longer there. All the bins were stood up neatly in a line and there was no sign of any disturbance. I looked at my watch and I had lost about 15 minutes. I felt very sick and my eyes were extremely sore. I was late for work and I was feeling sick and dizzy so I returned home dazed and confused . I did not go into work that day. I was really ill. I have been puzzled by this bizarre experience for three years now and seeing that alien in the photograph brought back memories of this encounter. The hat wearing alien looks very similar to that midget in a parka coat. Did I really see this or is this a False memory?. I could not account for the 15 minutes I lost.  Was this a case of alien abduction or a strange alien encounter? What do you think ken? Have you ever heard of anything quite like this before.

The Coso Artifact—Did the Ancients Use Electricity Some 500,000 Years Ago?

Discoveries of man-made objects confined in pieces of rock or coal offer a very alluring and tangible evidence that in the “impossibly” distant past, humanity was significantly more technologically advanced than we could even comprehend.

At the top of a mountain peak, 4,300 feet above sea level, encased inside a stone lay a genuine example of ancient advanced technology, dating from millennia before the historical advent of the Homo sapiens.

 

On February 13, 1961, Wallace Lane, Virginia Maxey and Mike Mikesell, owners of the Gem and Gift Shop in Olancha, California, went into the Coso Mountains to supply the minerals stock for their shop.

 

To their surprise, in that day they would find not only minerals, but something that may unravel a major conundrum of the ancient human history. In their search for minerals, they stumbled upon an unusual fossil-encrusted geode. Having caught their interest, Mike Mikesell decided to investigate further over the peculiar rock’s structure.

 

In the process of cutting it open, Mike Mikesell found to his fascination that the geode proved to contain something strange. In the middle of the stone there was a metal core, about 2 millimeters in diameter.

 

Casing the core was what seemed to be a ceramic collar that was itself sheathed in a hexagonal sleeve carved out of wood that had become petrified, presumably at a later date.

 

 

Around the fossilized wooden shell was the exterior layer of the geode consisting of solidified clay, pebbles, scraps of fossilized shells, and two non-magnetic metallic items that seemed identical to a regular nail and washer.

 

A piece of copper still remaining between the ceramic and the fossilized wood indicates that the two may have been detached by a now decomposed copper sleeve.

 

X-ray tests of the item brought to light an object that resembles very much to present-days’ spark plugs.

 

Considering the approximate layering and structure of the outer crust, the object has been dated from 250,000 to 500,000 BC. However, the name of the geologist is either kept a secret or simply not mentioned in any source material.

 

n an earlier statement from 1961, an INFO member claimed the object had magnetic properties, but a few years later, in 1969, said magnetism was no longer present.

 

Despite its assumed extraterrestrial origins, the Coso artifact isn’t just a random spark plug encased in a fossil. Its construction clearly reveals that it is very similar to the first superconductors.

 

After a series of thorough tests and meticulous X-ray analysis of the Coso artifact, it was revealed that the so called geode was actually a form of mechanical device. Its metallic shaft presented rust at one end, but the other end was bound to a metal spring.

 

The ceramic finish and the copper and metallic inner parts hint at a kind of electrical apparatus. Though it’s very much alike a spark plug, its helix terminal does not relate to any of our days’ spark plugs.

 

 

To push the mystery around the Coso artifact even further, some geologists claim that the rock where it was found encased was at least 500.000 years old, because it fossilized in sedimentary rock deposited during the Great Flood.

 

This artifact is of extreme importance to archaeologists and geologists, for it reveals the antediluvians had attained impressive progress beyond our expectations: they had discovered and learned to manipulate electricity many thousands of years before the reintroduction of this knowledge into our age of civilization.

 

Like all ancient artifacts that may hold clues to our enigmatic ancient history, the artifact disappeared three years after it was displayed for only three months at the Eastern California Museum of Independence.

 

To spice these intriguing conspiracy-like events, in September 1999, an attempt to track the missing artifact has proven unsuccessful, having no leads to the whereabouts of the first people that discovered the Coso artifact, although the chances were some of the three people involved in the discovery had died before then. The only one known to be still alive is Virginia Maxey, but she refuses to publicly comment about the artifact.

Is this Strange Desert Mineral Evidence of Ancient Nuclear Warfare?

Seven years after the nuclear detonations in New Mexico, Dr. J. Robert Oppenheimer, the ‘father of the atomic bomb’ was asked during a lecture if he had been the first person to conduct atomic tests. His reply was: Yes, in modern times.

Although at the time his answer was considered cryptic or at least vague, Dr. Oppenheimer was alluding to a series of ancient Hindu texts that described the occurrence of large-scale catastrophes that did not correspond to any recorded natural disasters. More specifically, he was referring to the Bhagavad Gita, an ancient Sanskrit writing that portrayed the detonation and effects of a powerful “unknown weapon”.

 

This subject is obstinately avoided by the scientific community but there is evidence supporting events such as this one. This evidence routinely comes in the form of fused glass fragments found in many deserts all over the world. These pieces of glass closely resemble those found at the Alamogordo atomic proving grounds, the place where the modern world’s first nuclear device was detonated. Desert glass forms when temperatures in excess of 3,300 degrees Fahrenheit (1,800º Celsius) cause the sand grains to melt and fuse together.

 

A STRANGE PIECE OF GLASS FROM THE LIBYAN DESERT

 

They were first described by Patrick Clayton who encountered them while surveying the Sahara in 1932. Clayton discovered huge chunks of yellowish-green glass in the sand and presented them to fellow geologists. A possible explanation came almost 50 years later when one of the engineers that helped create the atomic bomb was revisiting the testing site in New Mexico. He noticed glass fragments that were similar to those he had seen in the desert, albeit much smaller.

 

NEW MEXICO ATOMIC GLASS, NAMED TRINITITE, AFTER THE TRINITY PROJECT

 

Being open-minded, he made a connection. Being an engineer, he did the math and was astounded by the results. In order to produce desert glass the size of the pieces found by Clayton, the explosion had to have been 10,000 more powerful than the one in New Mexico. A very plausible explanation was proposed: the glass had formed due to asteroid/comet/giant meteorite impacts. Such impacts would certainly fit the profile as they cold easily produce the tremendous amount of heat required to fuse silicon crystals.

 

But an impact that great would also leave behind a noticeably large crater and no such craters were found in the desert. Glass was found in the Sahara, the Mojave and the Desert of Libya but neither sonar nor satellite imagery could find any accompanying craters. Furthermore, the Libyan glass had a very high purity and clarity (over 99 percent). In the case of meteorite impact, the silicon is fused together with iron from the meteorite itself as well as other adulterants.

 

METEORITIC DESERT GLASS

 

When we piece together all the clues, the picture becomes clearer and we have to ask ourselves: is it truly impossible that ancient civilizations reached a technological level similar to others? Have we truly explored all possibilities? After all, depictions of terrible weapons capable to obliterate entire cities are found in the legends of many cultures, separated by both space and time. Were those depictions nothing more than the work of human imagination envisioning the superlative weapon? What about the physical evidence then? Where does it fit?

 

In my opinion, considering ourselves the first and only civilization on Earth to have split the atom is nothing short of absolute vanity and we all know where that leads to.

Weird Things Keep Happening in Mexico’s Mysterious Zona del Silencio

The Bolsón de Mapimi basin in Mexico is home to a very strange area called La Zona del Silencio – The Silent Zone. Located between the states of Durango, Chihuahua and Coahuila, this area achieved notoriety thanks to a number of unexplained anomalies.

The Zone of Silence first gained attention in the 1930s, when a Mexican airplane pilot named Francisco Sarabia experienced some difficulties while flying over the mysterious patch of desert. The instruments aboard his plane inexplicably started malfunctioning; he couldn’t receive nor send any radio transmissions and the compass had a hard time pointing north. He chalked it off to some disturbances in the local magnetic fields and, for another 30-something years, the issue would remain in obscurity.

 

 

Attention was once again drawn to the area in the 1970’s when an Athena test missile was launched from a military base near Green River, Utah. Its destination was the White Sands Proving Grounds in New Mexico. Without warning or explanation, it went 400 miles off course and crashed into the Zona del Silencio. A team of scientists and US Air Force officials were promptly and secretly sent to recover the missile and investigate the region. To their surprise, they ended up discovering several abnormalities.

 

Careful measurements showed that within the Mapimi basin there is an unspecified, fluctuating area through which radio signals cannot travel. The zone acts like an absorbent barrier for television, radio, short wave, microwave and satellite signals. Despite increasing the intensity of the transmission, these waves simply couldn’t make it through. The name Zone of Silence was quickly adopted and scientific interest brought a number of researchers looking for answers.

 

With the aid of the U.S., the Mexican government built a research facility whose purpose was to allegedly study the local flora and fauna. It is said that plants and animals in the Zone of Silence suffer strange and unique mutations found nowhere else in the world. But there are rumors claiming that this is just a front for far more secretive and obscure groundwork taking place in the Silent Zone.

 

 

One of the odd attributes of the region is its unusually high levels of magnetite and uranium deposits that scientists believe are causing electromagnetic pulses able to disrupt radio signals. It is also a hotbed for meteorites, which could account for the magnetic properties that cause metallic objects to end up falling from the skies. But things still don’t add up.

 

As it turns out, the Zone of Silence is located on the same latitude as the Egyptian Pyramids, the ill-fated Bermuda Triangle and the sacred cities of Tibet. Mere coincidence or further evidence towards the zone’s peculiar characteristics?

 

THE STRAIGHT LINE DOESN’T LIE

 

Some say the area could be a magnetic grid point where the Earth’s energy is concentrated and the unusually high energy levels are drawing in extraterrestrial activity. And if there’s one thing the Zone of Silence has plenty of, it’s unusual occurrences linked to the UFO phenomenon.

 

Strange lights, floating orbs, burning bushes, flying saucers, and alien encounters have all been reported with a degree of abundance in the area. Locals report mysterious lights filling up the night sky and floating aircraft landing in the desert and causing small, localized fires wherever they touch the ground.

 

Some theorists proposed the continued existence of a portal in the area. Mexican ranchers tell tales of mysterious lights hovering over the Silent Zone and strangers appearing out of thin air. Multiple witnesses report encountering the same three blonde humans that always asked for water, but never for food. When asked where they were from, the strangers invariably responded that they “came from above.”

 

As always, tangible evidence was not provided or perhaps is being kept secret. Regardless of the official answers, the area is home to several phenomena that defy explanation. We are left wondering whether the unusual magnetic properties of the Silent Zone are a natural occurrence or are caused by something that we do not yet understand.

South Carolina witness reports silver residue after UFO sighting

A South Carolina witness at Ladson reported watching a red orb hovering at the tree line and then discovering a silvery residue in a pattern on her lawn, according to testimony in Case 76542 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness went outside about 11:30 p.m. on May 21, 2016, with her dogs when the incident occurred.

“I saw the red orb I have seen twice before out front – now outback hovering above the tree line,” the witness stated. “It wasn’t there for a long time and then it just disappeared. It silently hovered, moved forward, and went in reverse which I found odd. It descended somewhat at an angle slowly and quietly was like a leaf falling.”

The entire event last about less than 10 seconds.

“I came in wondering what that was. My oldest dog has severe fear of thunderstorms, and panics, pants shakes, whinesand hides. She began to act this way about 20 minutes or so after we came in, but we were not having rain. The next morning when I took them out, I noticed what looked like a black mark on my back yard, which actually made me mad. I was wondering who burned my yard. I went out to look at it, and there was a silvery, metallic substance on my ground in a pattern, one curved arch on either side of some center pattern.”

The witness called her sister in North Carolina.

“I sent her pictures and I took a sample of it. Her husband advised that I contact your group.”

South Carolina Field Investigator Jeffrey Elliott and State Director Cheryl Ann Gilmore investigated and closed this case as an Unknown.

“Arrived at the home of witness,” Elliott and Gilmore stated in their report,“where she pointed out where she had seen the red orb the size of a basketball (aspirin at arm’s length) hovering about three feet above the trees across from her house. I estimated the distance of the sighting to be approximately 80 to 100 feet from where she stood. The witness stated it was completely silent and hovered for a few seconds, moving backward at times, and then moved left (north) and simply disappeared.

“Witness stated she saw a red orb on the back side of the house (which is the reason for her report) on the 21st.  The orb behaved in the same manner as before, hovering just above the tops of the trees across the creek northwest of her property. As for the markings in the back yard, I checked for radiation with negative results using a calibrated Geiger counter with fresh batteries. Two samples, soil and vegetation, were taken and bagged – results pending.  Theodolite pictures documenting pertinent data were taken and added to this report.

“I asked if the possibility of Chinese lanterns, balloons, or UAVs could have been involved. She stated that she has seen all of those things and that very positively was not any of them. At this moment there is no viable explanation of the event. Soil and vegetation samples were taken and I am in the process of getting them tested.”

West Virginia witness videotapes UFO ‘size of mountain’

A West Virginia witness at Clendenin reported watching and videotaping a triangle-shaped UFO “the size of a mountain,” according to testimony in Case 76582 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The reporting witness and her 31-year-old son stepped outside on a deck at 9:30 p.m. on May 24, 2016, and noticed an amber ball of light streaking in from the west.

“It then stopped abruptly and hovered,” the witness stated.“I quickly took a picture. It then started slowly moving east over a two-hour period. After it cleared the western trees we could start to see the shear mass of it.”

The witness described the object.

“There were three white lights way below it that were moving with it. As the moon brightened we could see the shape of a triangle that connected all of the lights. It was like a mountain moving through the sky it was so big.”

The witness and her son watched the object for about two hours until it left the clearing.

“I will chalk this up as one of the most unexplainable things I have ever seen in my life. The videos do not do it justice. It does not pick up the bottom three lights that connect it all and the third light was not visible to us until later. But that’s okay. It was amazing.”

I really like this photo sent into us at UFO Sightings Daily. It appears it was taken from a drone with a camera and it recorded a disk if the distance. This UFO is defiantly a disk and and seems to blend in with the color of the cloudy overcast sky. If its gone in 2 minutes as the eyewitness described, then we know its not a cloud. Eyewitness states:

After reviewing photos taken from the evening I zoomed in and can't decide what the object floating in the sky on the right hand side just above the horizon was. It does not appear to be a plane and a photo taken 2 minutes after shows nothing floating or flying in the sky. When zooming in it appears to be disc shaped and have lights.

This is the most common way to catch a UFO, to sit a camcorder out and let it record for a few hours. Then go through the footage to see if you got lucky. Its hard, and its a lot of time, but when you get one...it feels great. I have done this before, but it will often take days to catch something, then many hours of going over the video. May-30-2016 a pulsating U.F.O was captured Materializing over the Skies of San Antonio,Tx Using SKYFISHING Technique.. ... SKYFISHING Technique...Which It involves setting a camera on a fix point with some kind of reference point..(example top of a building,tree tops,telephone pole ect..)..And wait to capture some kind of Unknown Anomaly... ...Camera was left recording for 15 min..At one point a U.F.O Materializing over the Skies of San Antonio,Tx ..You can see it come into view travel in a control manner..This orb was captured only for a couple of seconds as it slowly faded away..You will clearly see this U.F.O traveling low in altitude with some reference points such as tree top's..Using filters such as 0.6xSpeed/sharpen/saturation a U.F.O can be observed .....After reviewing the footage several times in my opinion this Orb is clearly not an aircraft or weather balloon/satellite.Orb was traveling low in altitude and on its own power not blown by the wind...

This is the moment a White House spokesperson dodges a question about the Roswell incident - only to be warned: "You're not going to get off easy like that."

White House press correspondent April Ryan quizzed press secretary Josh Earnest about the famous incident during a media briefing.

It is the second time the spokesman has come under fire from reporters about UFOsin a week.

Another correspondent had earlier asked Earnest about Area 51 and whether Barack Obama would "beat Hillary Clinton to the punch" by revealing America's secrets about extra-terrestrials.

The questions follow weeks of publicity of the Democratic presidential candidate's pledge to release Government-held UFO files, if she wins the election in November.

Earlier this month, MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell also asked Hillary Clinton's spokesmanBrian Fallon about her being declared the "first ET candidate."

Ryan, who is also Washington bureau chief for American Urban Radio Networks, asked Earnest: "There’s this increased interest in Roswell. You’re doing your dance at the podium about it. Is there a such a thing?

"Are you keeping quiet because of security concerns? Are we to think that there might be life beyond here? You need to answer this."

Earnest, appearing nervous and drinking water after being put on the spot, replied: "I’ll just say, April, there are some questions that even the White House Press Secretary doesn’t have answers to, and this is one of them."

Unhappy with his response, she hits back: "You’re not going to get off easy like that."

The Roswell incident happened in July 1947 when a 'flying saucer' allegedly crashed in the New Mexico desert.

Witnesses claim the military recovered the wreckage and alien bodies but the US Airforce said it was a weather balloon with crash test dummies on board.

Exploding Weather Balloons, Not UFOs

On Dec. 20, 2012, a bright, circular object (pictured at the top of this composite image) was videotaped exploding in the skies above Sacramento, Calif. It wasn't immediately identified, resulting in speculation that it was either an alien spacecraft, military top secret weapon, runaway planet, North Korean satellite, among others. Within a short period of time, it became apparent that this was a weather balloon. The bottom part of this image shows such a balloon as it ascended over Tampa Bay, Fla., on July 2, 2012, and exploded in an identical manner as the Sacramento object, probably much to the dismay of all true ET believers out there.

Changing UFO Pattern -- Warren, Mich. 1-10-13

This four-image series of lights in the sky was recorded over Warren, Mich., on Jan. 10, 2013. The lights were seen changing into several patterns. The most logical explanation for these types of UFOs is a series of balloons or lanterns.

Mystery Triangles Revisit Illinois: Are Military Aircraft Involved?

While space may remain “the final frontier”, according to recent reports, our efforts to get there affordably still seem to be fairly slow-going. Recent reports of DARPA’s new Experimental Spaceplane project, called the XS-1, aims to construct a reusable space plane based on designs submitted by various groups, one of which will be selected in 2017.

Space.com reports that the prospective plane, “at optimal operation, should be able to fly 10 times in 10 days, at a cost of no more than $5 million per flight.” Safety checks, refueling, wear and tear from reentry, and other factors often prevent such aircraft from being fully reusable. The proposed XS-1 “would be used primarily as a cheap and fast way to deliver satellites to orbit,” Space.com reported, based on a DARPA statement.

That is, of course, if you consider $5 million per flight “cheap”. Thus, we begin to see the reasons for the delayed progress, especially in lieu of space program funding issues we’ve seen over the last several years. Getting off-planet is never really “cheap”, although in the coming years, many hope it will continue to become less-costly thanks to such efforts as reusable aircraft like the XS-1.

Speculation remains, however, about other aircraft that may be operating a bit closer to Earth, and whether DARPA or similar groups may be involved with them and their operation.

Roger Marsh recently reported at OpenMinds on an incident that occurred on May 22, 2016, as outlined in MUFON case 76537, in which an Illinois based witness had been commuting between locations near Spring Grove in McHenry County, Illinois. The event occurred at approximately 9:30 PM local time.

The observer reported seeing a large, triangular aircraft “at an estimated height of 200 feet above ground,” which the witness was able to drive close enough to nearly pass directly under it. The driver turned around and returned to the location, and over the course of one minute the aircraft began to execute an apparent banking turn, in which it angled one of its edges toward the ground as it continued to move slowly through the sky.

The Inquisitr website also reported on the incident, noting that, “The sightings have helped to sustain rumors in Pentagon black project conspiracy theory circles that the U.S. government is conducting a series of late-stage flight tests of a new generation of ‘black triangle’ stealth reconnaissance aircraft.”

Illinois has a history involving observation of large triangle aircraft like these, with one notable incident that occurred in St. Clair county, southwestern Illinois, on January 5, 2000. The incident began at around 4:00 AM, on the date in question, and involved police officers from multiple districts that were responding to the early morning observation of a similar large, slow-moving triangular aircraft. One officer managed to obtain an indistinct polaroid photograph of the craft as it moved away from him (more about the St. Clair County case can be read here).

A skeptical position on this incident, offered by Brian Dunning of Skeptoid, suggests that the aircraft had been a conventional blimp giving a private tour; it is unclear why a VIP tour of this sort would have taken place between 3 and 4 AM, and no records directly connecting the incident with the local operations of the American Airship Company, to whom the source of the incident was attributed, have been made available.

In discussion of “Mystery Aircraft” at its website, the Federation of American Scientists have also gathered information about purported “triangle” craft, where it notes:

“A very intriguing aircraft was been reported in the late 1980s. Some observers claim to have witnessed a vast black flying wing, estimated at between 600 and 800 feet in width, passing silently over city streets in California. The craft moved so slowly one observer claimed that he could jog along with it. The aircraft reportedly executed bizarre maneuvers in which it stopped, rotated in place and hovered vertically, pointing its thin trailing edge toward the ground. This vehicle’s unlikely gyrations suggest that it is distinct from the other sightings, and could be a lighter-than-air craft pushed by slow- turning propellers.”

Remarkably, the notion that some, if not the majority of purported “mystery aircraft” may be military projects is often met the same sort of derision that UFO advocates and ET enthusiasts receive. However, dismissive though the modern skeptic may tend to be about such possibilities, one must acknowledge the likelihood that such aircraft, reported consistently over the years and with general continuity of descriptions maintained throughout, can’t easily be chalked up entirely to overactive imaginations, or the modern equivalent of “liar’s clubs”. Even if the distinct minority of cases involving large triangle aircraft or similar objects were the only reliable ones, a case could be made for the existence of new secret aviation technologies that are in use by military officials and agencies.
