Het is een lief, aanhankelijk hondje, dat zich op een week snel aan ons heeft aangepast. Ze is heel vinnig en nieuwsgierig, een heel ander hondje dan Noleke.

The Strange Case of the Kaikoura Lights of New Zealand
UFO accounts come to us from around the world, from every corner of the globe. They largely serve to incite wonder and discussion, but rarely provide any real answers. The point is that UFO sightings are a global phenomenon, and one place that is not really covered so much in the lore is the country of New Zealand. Yet, here we have plenty of UFO cases just like anywhere else, and one of the strangest flaps of sightings unfolded here back in the 1970s, and it is a case steeped in strange encounters, pilot reports, and talk of ominous government cover ups.
What would go on to become perhaps New Zealand’s most famous UFO event began on December 21, 1978, when the crew of a Safe Air Ltd cargo aircraft was traveling from Woodbourne bound for Christchurch aboard their Armstrong Whitworth AW.660 Argosy aircraft. As they approached the Clarence River area, near the remote Kaikoura mountain ranges at around 2 AM, they began to pick up a series of inexplicable radar signatures that did not fit any aircraft they knew of and which they could not explain. As pilots Vern Powell and Ian Pirie stared at the radar screen trying to figure out just what they were looking at, visual confirmation was made, and it came in the form of a group of mysterious lights that began to flicker and dance around the plane almost as if toying with them. One of the UFOs was described as being very large, with five white flashing lights, while others seemed to be smaller, with one of them being “pear-shaped with a reddish tinge that then turned white.” Some of the crew were sure that some of the smaller objects had dropped off the larger one.
The spooked crew called it in to the air traffic controller radar in Wellington, who confirmed that they had also picked up the strange radar hits, and insisted there were not supposed to be any other aircraft in the area. These lights reportedly trailed the plane for over 60 kilometers, before suddenly blinking out and appearing in another location far away, as if they had teleported. After that, they flew off and vanished for good, leaving the pilots and ground control perplexed as to what had just occurred. The same plane would see the lights again 2 hours later along its route, with the UFOs this time seeming to travel about in huge, inscrutable rectangular patterns. It would turn out that the crew of the Argosy and ground control were not the only ones who had seen something odd in the skies on that night. There would turn out to be dozens of people on the ground calling in to report UFO sightings at the same time, to the point that the jittery Air Force even put an Air Force Skyhawk jet on standby just in case it was needed to engage or move in to investigate any of these aerial phenomena, and all of these sightings would only continue into the coming days.
The Kaikoura region
On December 30, 1978, an Australian television crew was flying in another Argosy when they saw a cluster of four or five lights near the Kaikoura Peninsula, dominated by one especially bright, flashing white light. At this time the objects were tracked by Wellington Air Traffic Controllers, and the crew even used their camera to take color footage of the mysterious objects. The objects seemed to be following the plane, and when they came in for a landing at Christchurch the crew was unsettled to realize that one was still on their tail, only breaking off right as they were about to land. When the plane later took off again, they would encounter an immense orb of light, which proceeded to follow them for nearly a half an hour as they gawked at and filmed it. One journalist aboard, a Quentin Fogarty, would say of the surreal situation:
On the flight down, what we basically saw were pinpricks of light that turned into great globes of light, and they were airborne, and they were between us and the coast because we could see the coast and we could see the sea, and we could see these things shining down.
An Air Force Orion on a reconnaissance flight to Kaikoura on January 2 would also report encountering strange lights in the sky in the region, and this was enough to convince the New Zealand Air Force, as well as the Civil Aviation Authority and the Defence Ministry, that an investigation was needed. And so it was that the Prime Minister of the time, Robert Muldoon, would launch one of the first serious investigations into the UFO phenomenon that New Zealand had ever seen. The results were perhaps for UFO enthusiasts, disappointing. The Air Force seemed hellbent on fitting and stuffing it all of it into conventional explanations, writing it all off as the lights of trains, cars, or even squid boats refracted off of clouds, “freak propagation” of radio and light waves, large aircraft or a meteorological balloon catching the sunlight at high altitude, unburnt meteors, and of course the planet Venus, all helped along by “spurious” radar returns. Wing Commander J B Clements would state:
Almost all the sightings can be explained by natural but unusual phenomena. Defence should issue a PR statement fairly soon in order to tone down much of the wild speculation that has existed over recent weeks. Perhaps the most difficult aspect to explain away is the apparent concern – even apprehension – of the aircrew involved in the sightings. At present they do not seem to be prepared to accept the fact that they might have observed Venus. Thankfully, however neither do they believe that they saw a visitor from outer space.

These explanations have not gone down well with some of those who were actually involved. after all, these were trained pilots who should know what any of those natural phenomena would look like, and one of the witnesses has blown off the official prognosis, saying of the explanations given by the Air Force:
None of them to my knowledge or satisfaction have coordinated the visual sighting with the radar sighting. They’ve said the visual sighting was squid boats, it was Venus, it was Jupiter, it was the harbour lights. You name it, they can come up with all sorts of reasons for what it was. But they haven’t explained why I can see Jupiter, Venus and the harbour lights doing 140 knots on my radar.
It is all very odd, and has never been adequately explained. The New Zealand government has stuck to its guns that this is nothing more than mundane, explainable phenomena, and we are left to wonder. Is all of this just misunderstandings, Venus, and other aerial phenomena that can be explained away? Or is there something else going on here? We might not ever truly know the answers to these questions, and the Kaikoura Lights remain one of the most well-known and strangest UFO cases New Zealand has ever seen.

Egypt Wings
Derik Tyler writes. From an ancient Egyptian temple is a drawing of a craft. The white dots on the spacecraft represent what appeared to be flashbulbs popping off at random intervals and locations all over the body of the craft. Perhaps airships or balloons were used in ancient times to lift giant stones. Even our best engineers have been stumped of how to transport 50 ton stones from the quarries in Southern Egypt 500 miles to the Giza Pyramids near Cairo. Lighter than air-ships can carry a tremendous amount of weight. The Gods Isis and the Sky God Nut were depicted with wings indicating flight. Engineering studies indicate the stones used to build the pyramids were thought to be too heavy to be carried on Egyptian boats. The largest boats were 30 meters long with 30 rowers and most were made from reeds. However, the blocks of stones might have been lifted above the boats in lighter than air craft. The boats could provide the propulsion with oars or sail and pull the craft along above them.

If the ancients realized hot air balloons, or lighter than air balloons filled with hydrogen, helium, or natural gas abundant in Egypt could lift tons of weight they could have floated huge blocks of stone into place. These are a few of the wings found throughout ancient Egypt. Is it possible they represent a kind of dirigible that could lift great weight? Airship designers often conservatively estimate helium’s lift at 60 lbs per 1,000 cubic feet and hydrogen’s lift at 68 lbs per 1,000 cubic feet.
Contrary to what evolutionists claim, the history of mankind is full of proofs that ancient peoples possessed far superior technologies than had been believed. The Egyptians used torches for light and had dark and white light that likely used batteries. One of these proofs is the Ancient Egyptians’ knowledge of electricity and likely used a filament like flash light bulb as shown in the sculpture from the Dendera Temple.
In a documentary on ABC this lighting system was tested by scientists in front of cameras and success was achieved and light obtained. This is basically a huge light bulb that worked through the technique shown in the ancient Egyptian wall painting.
The lift would best be obtained with hydrogen inside large balloons or dirigibles. The hydrogen atom is nothing more than a single proton, captured in a cloud of negative charge from the electrons surrounding whatever compound it’s part of. When you use electricity to split water, you send an electron from the battery down into the water, where it finds a water molecule, rips off a proton, and the proton and electron combine to form a hydrogen atom. You’re making the atoms up pretty much from scratch, no accelerator or nuclear reactor required, just a battery, and ancient batteries have been found.
Cylinder Shaped UFOs

The commander of the Strategic Command, the military unit in charge of nuclear war fighting, said China is in the midst of a major nuclear buildup that wills double the size of its nuclear warhead stockpile, currently assessed as in the low 200s, over the next 10 years.
China has long said it would not be the first to use nuclear arms in a conflict, but its buildup of forces appears to be preparing for a launch-on-warning capability similar to that of the United States and Russia.
Adm. Charles A. “Chas” Richard, the Stratcom commander, spoke with reporters this week and questioned whether the “no first use” pledge is a strategic deception by Beijing.
“As a military commander, what I look at more is another nation’s capabilities, less about what their stated intentions are, and I see China developing a stack of capabilities that would be inconsistent with a no first use policy,” he said. Chinese nuclear forces “certainly have the capabilities to execute any number of deterrent or employment strategies that are seemingly inconsistent with a no first use policy.”
China has deployed thousands of long-range missiles in a variety of basing modes, including in silos, on road- and rail-mobile launchers, and on submarines.
Beijing, according to the Pentagon’s latest annual report on the Chinese military, is also developing a bomber-launched ballistic missile. A new DF-41 missile is being deployed with multiple, independently targetable reentry vehicles, or MIRVs.
CHAPTER 13: ENEMY ATTACK AND UFO POTENTIAL FEW RESIDENTS of the United States, except for those in Hawaii, have experienced an enemy attack on their hometown in this century; some think they have.
The Great Los Angeles Air Raid of February 26, 1942, began at 2:25 A.M. when the U.S. Army announced the approach of hostile aircraft and the cities air raid warning system went into effect for the first time in World War II. “Suddenly the night was rent by sirens. Searchlights began to sweep the sky. Minutes later gun crews at Army forts along the coast line began pumping the first of 1,433 rounds of ack-ack into the moonlight.
Thousands of volunteer air raid wardens tumbled from their beds and grabbed their boots and helmets. Citizens awakened to the screech of sirens and, heedless of the blackout warning began snapping on their lights. The din continued for two hours. Finally the guns fell silent. The enemy, evidently, had been routed. Los Angeles began to taste the exhilaration of its first military victory. ”
THE UFO THREAT–A FACT In this chapter we will now turn our attention to the very real threat posed by Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs), whether they exist or not. The well-documented and highly publicized War of the Worlds radio drama by Orson Welles shows how even a perceived existence to alien creatures can cause very real disaster-like conditions and panic among a given populace. In addition, if the apparent visits by alien beings and their space vehicles should pose any type of threat, it will, as always, be the fire service that is called upon to provide the first line of life-saving defense and disaster mitigation.
On April 25, 1991, radio station KSHE in St. Louis, Missouri. Was fined $25,000 by the Federal Communications Commission for broadcasting a mock warning of a nuclear attack during the Persian Gulf War. The seriousness with which the FCC treated this case is indicative of the very real panic that can be created from even illusionary or fictional phenomena. Certainly if these unexplainable events become more prevalent, the possibility of panic could be even greater; and again, the fire department will be the agency called upon to handle the situation. Hence, as we near the year 2000 and move beyond, any comprehensive disaster plan should address the potential for panic and other deleterious effects that might befall a populated area when unexplainable phenomena occur.
We will see, as we continue our discussion in this chapter, that widespread blackouts, communication disruptions, and other potentially disastrous conditions have been linked directly to UFO sightings. Hence, fire service leaders who want to ensure that their disaster planning is complete will not neglect an appendix to outline those things that could be done in preparation for the occurrence of such phenomena.
Throughout this book, many of the references to actual events are based on the experiences of both of the authors. However, in this area of UFOs and their potential, we are relying largely on the research and experiences of Charles Bahme. Chuck has made a considerable study of this subject and is acquiring many publications and VCR tapes to augment his library on this and related phenomena. His interest in UFOs was greatly heightened when Congress in 1969 adopted a law (14 CFR Ch. V Part 1211- Extraterrestrial Exposure) which gave the NASA Administrator the arbitrary discretion to quarantine under armed guard any object, person, or other form of life which has been extraterrestrially exposed.
The very fact that our congressmen believed there was a necessity for such drastic authority made Chuck wonder if they had only our astronauts in mind when they adopted it. Could it be applied to anyone who has had a UFO encounter? Whether it has or not is not likely to be a topic for public dissemination.
UFO Discussion–Why Now? The subject of UFOs (Unidentified Flying Objects) was not included in previous editions of this book. The first edition was the Handbook of Disaster Control which Chuck personally published in 1952 following his release from active naval duty in the Korean War. Although his services in the conflict as Security Coordinator for the Chief of Naval Operations involved the creation of a worldwide disaster control organization for the protection of the physical properties of the Navy, it must be admitted that the directives approved for this new organization did not reflect any significant concern for a flying saucer threat to its shore establishment. That was in the 1950s. Now that we are in the 1990s it is doubtful that the UFO potential would be brushed off so lightly by our military security forces. This change of attitude was evidenced as far back as December 24, 1959, when the Inspector General of the Air Force issued the following Operations and Training Order: “Unidentified Flying Objects–sometimes treated lightly by the press and referred to as ‘Flying Saucers’–must be rapidly and accurately identified as serious Air Force business….”
There is no uncertainty about the reality of the war between nations on our planet and the disastrous effects of military actions. The 200 sorties flown every hour against Iraq in the Persian Gulf provided ample evidence of global war’s destructive power. On the other hand, there are many persons who may believe that a discussion of the theoretical harm that could be caused by a real or imaginary invasion of UFOs would be ‘far out!” But this is not so for the thousands of witnesses of unexplained aerial phenomena. To them it is also serious business. Chuck’s interest in UFOs commenced during the early morning hours of August 26, 1942, while he was roller skating from his house to the nearest fire station a few blocks away; the wail of sirens had signaled his recall to fire duty, and with the stringent blackout orders in effect. Driving was not wise; besides, it was much more exciting to be out in the open where he could see the spectacular aerial “fireworks” that filled the heavens all around him. Few residents of the U.S. had ever experienced a real or imaginary invasion of UFOs like that which occurred in what has become known as “The Los Angeles Air Raid of 1942.” The Army announced the approach of hostile aircraft and the city’s air raid warning system went into effect for the first time in World War II. The defense to this “attack” is described in dramatic terms in the opening paragraph of this chapter.
But what enemy had been routed? No one ever knew. All the fire fighters saw in the sky were the 15 or 20 moving “things” which seemed to change course at great speed apparently unaffected by the flak from bursting shells all around them. Rumors that one had been shot down were never verified, nor was the explanation that these zig-zagging invaders were weather balloons ever taken seriously. In any event, for Chuck, that unforgettable episode aroused a continuing interest in UFOs, rivaling his professional fields of law and fire protection. The fact that he subsequently was a member of a group whose sighting of a flight of UFOs was authenticated by airport radar helped to sustain that interest.
UFO Background Information With no intention of trying to prove or disprove the authenticity of the numerous UFO encounters often related by very credible witnesses including airline and military pilots, astronauts, police officers, fire fighters, members of Congress, and even a U.S. President, the balance of this chapter will present a brief history and nature of UFOs and their alleged occupants; their widespread sightings over the globe since ancient times; their appearance, propulsion origin, and possible motives for continuing reconnaissance. A quick look at some of the classic accounts of encounters documented in numerous foreign and U.S. publications might help us judge the magnitude of their threat, if any, to social stability, and, if deemed desirable, propose a fire service plan for coping with some of the conceivable catastrophic effects that UFOs could produce on cities and densely populated areas.
For readers who already have made up their minds that there is no such thing as a UFO notwithstanding the overwhelming evidence to the contrary, it should be pointed out that there is circumstantial evidence that disastrous effects have already been attributed to UFO activity in more than one nation, including the United States.
UFOs–What Are They? William Shakespeare put a fitting observation in the mouth of Hamlet, the Prince of Denmark that went like this: “There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamed of in your philosophy.” Whether Hamlet was referring to those strange lights or objects that appear in the sky or near the ground and have no known cause, we will never know, but the World Book Encyclopedia defines such things as UFOs. Several theories have been propounded as to what they might be. Some scientists believe that they are of extraterrestrial origin–coming from other planets. Military officers conjecture that they might be alien aircraft. Some attribute them all to natural causes, such as meteors, comets, sundogs, light reflections, marsh gas, ball lightning, even though they must admit that scientists cannot explain all UFO reports in that manner. Still others are inclined to believe that they may be forms from other dimensions which can materialize and dematerialize at will perhaps by making a wavelength or frequency transition so as to become invisible to humans. Some believe they are time travelers from the future.
UFO Classification System Dr. J. Allen Hynek, Northern University Professor Emeritus of Astronomy and an advisor to the Air Force’s Blue Book Project. Adopted a very simple classification system based solely upon the manner of observation:
1. Nocturnal lights
2. Daylight disks
3. Close encounters (day or night)
4. Radar readings.
He concluded that this system tells us nothing about the nature of the UFOs, but can suggest a means for gathering data. He found that while a large number of such reports were readily identifiable by trained investigators as misconceptions of known objects or events, a small residue (about 1.000) were not. These came from credible witnesses from such widely separated places as Canada. Australia. South America and Antarctica. He concludes with: “Although I know of no hypothesis that adequately covers the mountainous evidence, this should not and must not deter us from following the advice of Schroedinger: to be curious, capable of being astonished, and eager to find out. “Dr. Hynek has an excellent, well-illustrated article on UFOs in a 1982 book which gives a detailed history of the UFO sightings, together with the reports of some well-known people who made them, including President Jimmy Carter while governor of Georgia. Shapes of UFOs
Witnesses have described the shapes of UFOs as anything varying from a sphere to a boomerang. Some have resembled flying saucers with a lid; others a glowing tube; some as semi-spherical with colored apertures; some with reddish-orange glows, or fire-like or sparking discharges. Incredible speed and maneuverabilities not attainable by aircraft of any kind are commonly observed. Many of the books and articles in Appendix H have excellent photographs of these unexplained visitors–photos that have been checked by experts for their authenticity.
HISTORY OF UFOs
For hundreds of years mysterious objects in the sky and strange moving lights have been reported by many people, including the military pilots in World War II who called them foo fighters, (“Where there’s Foo, there’s Fire”). In the middle of the 1900s flying saucers were increasingly observed in the United States and other countries. Scientists at the University of Colorado hired by the Air Force from 1966 to 1968 to study this type of aerial phenomena could explain most of the UFO reports as a star (Venus), meteor, planet, balloon, rocket, artificial satellite, etc. Sometimes atmospheric conditions, aircraft exhaust trails, or unusual lighting conditions may produce optical illusions that observers thought were UFOs. After investigating more than 12,000 reports, the U.S. Air Force was unable to explain where the unexplained UFOs come from, but apparently concluded that the national security was not threatened by them. The emphasis of the university’s team, headed by Edward U. Condon, seemed to be more concerned with the establishment of the emotional stability or instability of those who reported the sightings than with other evidence.
Psychiatrists have examined the witnesses who claimed to have encountered UFOs and even been taken aboard their craft, such as the two shipyard workers in Mississippi, and found that they are not unbalanced people. “They’re not crackpots. There was definitely something here that was not terrestrial.” Dr. J. Allen Hynek agreed, and added. “Where they are coming from and why they are here is a matter of conjecture. But the fact that they were here on this planet is beyond a reasonable doubt.”
UFO Disk
The Air Force after 20 years of being deluged with UFO sightings and spending millions of dollars on their investigation, decided to drop the inquiry business and turned the project over to a Kensington, Maryland, group called NICAP (National Investigation Committee on Aerial Phenomena). This left NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) with part of the task of trying to run UFO sighting reports, including many by its own Apollo and Skylab astronauts. By 1974 over a score of astronauts saw and photographed UFOs during their flights beyond the earth’s atmosphere.
Early in the Apollo 11 mission, which culminated in the moon walk, astronauts Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldrin, and Michael Collins reported sightings of what seemed to be a UFO during the first half of their flight to the lunar surface. There were many more sightings by U.S. and Soviet Astronauts. On November 11,1966, Gemini XII astronauts Jim Lovell and Edwin Aldrin said that they saw four UFOs linked together, and on October 12, 1964, three Russian astronauts aboard Voskod reported that they were surrounded by a “formation of fast-moving disc-shaped objects.”
UFO Organizations In addition to NICAP, some of the other organizations that study UFO phenomena are MUFON (Mutual UFO Networks), CAUS (Citizens Against UFO Secrecy), GSW (Ground Saucer Watch), CUFOS (the Center for UFO Studies), and APRO (Aerial Phenomena Research Organization), an Arizona nonprofit scientific and educational organization, founded in 1952.
Why the Secrecy?
In their book UFOs Over America, authors Jim and Carol Lorenzo charge that the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) has been closely involved in the collection and suppression of UFO information. “Witnesses to the phenomena have been bribed, coerced, and threatened by the CIA, who wanted valuable evidence given to them alone.” One reason given is that military intelligence may view the UFOs as a tool of either a known or unknown potential enemy. “If these vehicles prove evasive and surreptitious, all the more reason to suspect them…. the probability looms large that the minds behind these vehicles may well be gathering intelligence of their own.”
Another reason for secrecy may lie in the hope of obtaining knowledge relating to advanced propulsion methods and anti-gravity systems before other potential enemies on earth may acquire it. Hence, though many nations are secretly investigating UFOs, they are reluctant to share their findings.
Robert Lofton, in his book Identified Flying Saucers, claims that the Air Force became the “goat” in the effort of the CIA to debunk many sightings by pilots, radar technicians and reliable civilian observers. He thinks that the suppression of information about how dangerous UFOs can be is wrong. After citing a case where a child was burned over 50 to 60 percent of her body by a low flying UFO and then taken to an Air Force hospital, no one would explain why her clothes were not burned at the same time. He also describes another burn case in New Mexico and another man who recently received a sledge-hammer like blow that knocked him unconscious by the force field of a 100-foot diameter UFO. “The public ought to be told the danger! .. . . Nothing helps rumors and panic more than ignorance.” Major Donald Keyhoe describes in his book Aliens from Space, The Real Story of Unidentified Flying Objects the difficulties he had in 1957 in trying to get the truth from government agencies after he was director of NICAP, the world’s largest UFO research organization with over 30 subcommittees in the U.S. and abroad. According to some UFOlogists the attempts at cover-up by the CIA extend to destruction of evidence that it could not confiscate. Apparently some of our nation’s important leaders have been denied access to some UFO secrets in the possession of an agency of the United States, the very existence of which is classified above top secret. Senator Barry Goldwater, a retired Air Force Reserve Brigadier General and pilot with many decades of flying experience, was quoted as saying “I certainly believe in aliens in space.
They may not look like us, but I have very strong feelings that they have advanced beyond our mental capabilities.” He said he was refused permission to check the Air Force files on UFOs and added, “I think some highly secret government UFO investigations are going on that we don’t know about–and probably never will unless the Air Force discloses them.” He said that he put faith in the reports of the Air Force, Navy, and commercial pilots who reported instances where a UFO would fly near them–right off their plane’s wing–and then just zoom away at incredible speeds. “I remember the case in Georgia in the 1950s of a National Guard plane going after a UFO and never returning. And I recall the case in Franklin. Kentucky, when four military planes investigated a UFO. One of them exploded in midair and no one knows why.” Unleashed by the policy of Glasnost (greater openness) the Soviet media felt free to include accounts of UFO sightings. A Tuss report of October 10, 1989, reported a large shiny ball or disk hovering over a Voronezh park; residents saw the UFO land and three creatures similar to human beings emerged, accompanied by a robot.
Apparently the Russians felt no need to suppress this report which was poked fun at in Newsweek and Time magazines but not in U.S. News and World Report: “A scant few decades ago, both the U.S. government and the media treated flying objects as no laughing matter–which even Congress looked into. In 1966, Representative Ford responded to a rash of sightings in his home state of Michigan by calling for, and getting, a House hearing on UFOs.”
UFO Fire Like one in Peru
UFO Missions Many reasons have been advanced for the purpose of the UFOs visits to our planet. Although some of the persons who apparently have been the subjects of genetic investigation, such as the family of Whitley Streiber may not agree, the majority of those who have studied possible UFO visitors feel that they are friendly. Mr. Streiber described his experience as terrifying, and believes that these “little figures with eyes that seem to stare into the deepest core of being are asking for something. Whatever it is, it is more than simple information. The goal does not seem to be a sort of clear and open exchange that we might expect; whatever may be surfacing, it wants far more than that. It seems to me that it seeks the very depth of soul; it seeks communion.”
From the thousands of reports he has studied. William Spaulding, aerospace engineer and head of the Arizona-based Ground Saucer Watch, believes that a pattern indicates that UFOs are here on a surveillance mission: the fact that a majority of sightings occur around our military installations, research and development areas leads to the conclusion that a methodical study is being made of the earth and its defensive and offensive capabilities. “The phenomena are not unlike our own space explorations: scout ship survey: soil samples; landing.” In his book Incident at Exeter, John Fuller discusses the seeming affinity of UFOs for electrical power lines in the northeastern part of the United States. In a later section of this chapter dealing with the effects of UFOs on our terrestrial activities, we will see how this affinity may have been responsible for causing 36 million people to lose power over an area of 8,000 square miles.
Because of our recent adventures into space, there are some who speculate that UFOs are more concerned with what we will do there than in settling here. In any event, the Air Force’s official publication (issued by the Government Printing Office 1968) called Flying Objects says that ‘No UFO has been determined to represent a threat to our national security. ‘That conclusion, however, should not rule out less disastrous consequences than the overthrow of our government.
Hunter Biden Frequently Discusses Their Business with Joe Biden

The Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs confirmed that it has reached out to Tony Bobulinski regarding his connection to Hunter Biden and Joe Biden. On Thursday, Bobulinski released a statement to multiple media outlets describing his business ties to the Bides and obtaining millions from various countries and more than a billion from Chiai.
“The committee is working to validate information being revealed by multiple sources. As part of those efforts, we have reached out to several individuals named in recently revealed emails, including Tony Bobulinski. We look forward to their cooperation in helping us uncover the truth,” a spokesperson for the committee told Newsweek on Thursday. The FBI has Hunter’s computer that has tapes of dealings with China’s spymaster.
Bobulinski, who claims to be supportive of Democrats, was the recipient of a May 2017 email reported by the New York Post last week. That email, which was reportedly from a business associate of Hunter Biden, outlined “renumeration [sic] packages” for a Chinese venture. The email laid out how equity would be distributed under a provisional agreement, representing “10” going to Hunter “for the big guy.” In a Thursday statement to the New York Post and Fox News, Bobulinski said that the “big guy” was a reference to Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. Brownsville – On October15, 1985, on a clear spring day just before sunset, the three witnesses were driving west along Highway 20 below Camptonville. As we rounded a sharp curve, we came upon three silver discs landed in a field to the right of the road. I pulled onto the right shoulder just as the large discs suddenly shot upward in powerful ascent. I felt compelled to jump out of the car and starred excitedly up at the saucers.I felt elated and awe-struck. I estimate the size of each disc to have been between 50 and 75 feet in diameter. Above us, the discs blocked out most of the sky. They appeared quite solid and metallic, with very definite mechanical features – including a central opening from which a powerful conical beam projected straight down from each disc. The beam color was brilliant bluish-white, and we were washed with the light, yet could still see the features beneath the discs. I don’t recall any sound, but there might have been a wind – those details have grown very fuzzy over the 35 years since the encounter. I do recall that the three discs were locked into a tight triangular formation, with one disc forming an apex above the other two.
When the discs reached above a hundred feet overhead, they briefly hovered. Then all together, they tilted about 45 degrees and shot off toward the south, which took them straight across the highway and over above the Feather River Canyon, which we overlooked out to our left. As the craft traveled over the canyon, the conical beams appeared to light up a big portion of the valley – the beams would have to have been extremely powerful. When the objects reached an angle of what might have been 60 degrees in the sky over to our left, they abruptly vanished, leaving three glowing purple clouds where each disc had disappeared. Those clouds remained visible and softly glowing for the entire half-hour that it took us to complete our drive home to Forbestown, where we were temporarily staying at the time. It should be noted that I am aware of a considerable amount of amnesia and possible abduction both during and after the encounter.

Concord– On October24, 2020, Driving north on RT89N between exits 2 and 3, between Silk Farm Rd and bridge over Turkey Pond/Little Turkey Pond, with my 16-year-old daughter. I noticed a row of lights approximately 20-25 degrees above the horizon (presumably, it being dark at the time of sighting) just to the right of straight ahead of my direction of travel. My first thought was the Starlink satellites, though I noticed no motion in the lights and they appeared to be wrapped around the edges of what would have been a circular something. The lights appeared evenly-spaced along a slightly tilted horizontal axis. Observation lasted only 30seconds to 1min. We attempted to keep it in sight, but found that impossible on a relatively busy highway. The last I saw of whatever this was, it appeared that it may have been obscured by a cloud. Weather conditions were mostly clear with some scattered clouds; half moon present to our left (roughly south) during the observation.
y daughter managed to take several photos with her iPhone 8, which surprised me a bit given oncoming headlights, taillights of the cars ahead of us, etc. The images are blurry (taken through the car’s dirty windshield), but the object is obvious in them. Given the local terrain, I imported the images into “Photos” on my iMac and looked at the GPS stamps on them for the possible presence of skiing mountains or other topography in the area. I wondered if a lit access road or mountaintop could be an explanation, but other than Mt. Sunapee in the area (no night skiing or other mountaintop lights that I’m aware of), there was nothing obvious. Using Google maps street view of the area of the sighting in the direction it occurred also left me with no obvious possibilities

Visuele waarneming van onbekend vliegend toestel gecatalogeerd door Belgisch Ufo Netwerk als *fel licht in de lucht*. Gelijktijdige registratie van abnormaal hoge magnetische veldsterkte in het Aardmagnetisch meetstation op een afstand van ca 1000m van de visuële waarnamingsplaats
Uit de ter beschikking staande gegevens opgenomen tijdens een interview van mijzelf en de heer W.P van het Belgische Ufo Netwerk van de waarnemer Mevr. P.H.werd het mogelijk tot een identificatie over te gaan van het waargenomen toestel als zijnde een cylindervormige UFO.
Uit het op magneetband opgenomen verhoor blijkt het volgende te zijn gebeurd:
Een vanuit de verte toekomend fel licht komt overgevlogen in een rechte lijn onder een hoek van 225 graden .Tijdens de passage over de woning werden volgende opmerkelijke details waargenomen: groot langwerpig toestel ,geluidsloos zonder kenmerken van een vliegtuig en aan de zijkant een aantal lichten ,aantal groter dan 2 en kleiner dan 10 De tijdens het overvliegen bekomen vluchtgegevens zijn bepaald uit metingen uit schijnbare hoek en hoogte ( bekende methode uit astronomisch onderzoek) en uit de metingen van schijnbare grootte op het einde van de waarneming.
Uit extrapolatie op kaart van de omgeving is tevens gebleken dat het toestel zou genaderd zijn tot op een 500 m van het meetstation. Toepassing van de wet op de verzwakking in functie van de afstand voor magnetische verschijnselen en aanname van een bronniveau van ongeveer 100 Tesla ( bevestigd uit de literatuur uit metingen van polarisatieringen rond een optredend magnetische bron) zijn de gemeten piekwaarden van 60µT in overeenstemming met de genoemde verzwakkingswet.
Het destijds optredend probleem van 2 pieken in de registratie is eerst later uit de aanname van een cylindrische vorm , zoals gemeld uit de visuele waarneming, gebleken dat het inderdaad moest gaan om een UFO met cylindervorm uitgerust met 2 bronnen De bevestiging van deze aanname is er gekomen uit documenten op het einde van WO2 gevonden door de amerikaanse strijdkrachten in het archief van de vergeldingswapens onder andere de gegevens van het *Andromeda Gerät * . Het betreft hier duidelijk om een cylindervormig toestel met 2 aparte bronnen, bedoeld als carrier voor schijfvormige ufo´s Het bestaan van 2 bronnen is essentieel voor de propulsiemethode te weten dat de nodige antigravitatieëffecten wordt bekomen door middel van 2 tegengesteld roterende magnetische velden (zie US patent 20120105181A toegepast in de huidige carrier ruimtevloot en gebaseerd op het bekomen van neutrale gravitatie gebieden)
Conclusie:
Uitgaande van ALLE ter beschikking staande gegevens uit visuele waarneming en de magnetische registratie van het gelijktijdig fenomeen kunnen we afleiden dat het hier gaat om *een laag overvliegende UFO van het cylindertype*

Mijn interesse is lang geleden begonnen met een afbeelding van een vliegtuig dat blijkbaar zonder piloot afgebeeld was in het tijdschrift *Panorama* in de jaren* 50 . in de daarbij behorende tekst ging over een opgetreden UFO verschijnsel dat ervoor gezorgd had dat het toestel ongehavend op een vliegveld in Zwitserland aan de grond werd gezet. Het was toen een periode met veel warnemingen van de zogenaamde vliegende schotels met alle vreemde verhalen erbij. Ik was wel verrast zoals iedereen maar toch niet echt geboeid omwille van andere prioriteiten. In het jaar 1968 echter werd ik terug op het feit gedrukt dat vliegende schotels bestonden tijdens het installeren van een mazouttank aan mijn nieuw in aanbouw zijnde huis Het toestel vloog op grote hoogte en schitterde als een lichtgevende schijf in de zon , feit waardoor het me duidelijk werd dat die dingen bestonden.
Het werd me echter eerst menens in de jaren *70 .Ik heb toen in de volgende jaren wel alle uitgaven gelezen en ook gekocht die gepubliceerd werden in de Verenigde Staten . Alle mogelijke verhalen en ook meer serieuze publicaties van personen uit de Amerikaanse administratie en leger . In ons eigen land bestond toen Sobeps , een Franstalige vereniging , ik werd lid en was al snel geabonneerd op hun weliswaar verzorgd tijdschrift Inforespace.
Mettertijd begreep ik stilaan dat het verschijnselen zomaar niet te verklaren waren met de huidige kennis van zaken . In het buitenland groeiden ook de UFO verenigingen als paddestoelen uit de grond . Een aantal acties en onderzoeken van de Amerikaanse luchtmacht trokken al snel mijn aandacht en gaf me de indruk dat ze niet wisten wat ermee aan te vatten . Hun toestellen werden uitgerust met alle mogelijke meetapparaten om er achter te komen welke eigenschappen het fenomeen vertoonde Het viel me ook op dat in de massa UFO literatuur heel weinig technische en wetenschappelijke informatie te vinden was bij gebrek aan meetapparatuur; het was irriterend dat te constateren . Ik ging op zoek naar meer technische wetenschappelijke publicaties en heb die dan ook gevonden bij onze professor Auguste Meessen ( UCL) en bij de Franse onderzoekers J.P.Petit en Jacques Vallee. De publicaties van deze personen opende voor mij een wereld waar ik me meer thuis voelde. Voornamelijk de theoretische benadering van MHD propulsiewijze van Meessen en ook de practische proeven van J.P.Petit waren een schot in de roos
Ze bevonden zich op een terrein waar ik me meer thuis voelde omwille van mijn carriere die uitsluitend gebaseerd was in het onderzoek van electromagnetische verschijnselen ;
Gestimuleerd door het onderzoek van een aantal groepen zoals die van Ray Stanford in de VS die het fenomeen instrumenteel te lijf gingen ,was mijn aandacht getrokken op een detectiemogelijkheid met magnetometers. Een afspraak en een vruchtbaar gesprek met de chef van -en aansluitend bezoek aan het fysisch station voor aardveldmetingen van het KMI heeft er mij toe geleid om aan zelfbouw van een meetstation te beginnen . Met de gegevens van Dourbes en uit de technische literatuur is het mij gelukt een doeltreffend en wetenschappelijk verantwoord station te bouwen op basis van het ringkernmagnetometer principe.
De opstelling heeft gedurende 4 jaar dag en nacht de horizontale aardveldcomponente geregistreerd en het is in 2004 dat ik de mogelijkheid had om aan te tonen tijdens een zonneuitbarsting dat de meting identiek zowel als optredende pieken als tijdsverloop identiek waren aan die van Dourbes. De installatie kon dus probleemloos ,mits gereduceerde gevoeligheid , gebruikt worden voor detectie van UFOs in een straal van 10Km ;Het is met deze opstelling dat op 9 october 2008 de fameuze magnetische registraties zijn gebeurd.
Er was wel een groot probleem : de registratie toonde twee pieken en niet één enkele! Het is een e-mail ongeveer een week later van WvU van de vereniging Caelestia die opheldering van dit fenomeen bracht door de melding dat er een niet geidentificeerd voorwerp visueel was waargenomen door een dame wonende in de zelfde straat op op 1000m afstand van het meetstation;
Uit een onderzoek van de visuele waarneming door mezelf en WP van de vereniging waar de melding was binnengelopen bleek dat de beschrijving ging over een cylindervormig object
met ongekende vliegeigenschappen het ontbreken van enig geluid , geen vliegtuig vleugels , geen staartvlak kortom geen normaal vliegtuig maar eerder een cylinder- vormige UFO. Uit extrapollatie van de vliegroute op een omgevingskaart bleek dat het toestel op een afstand was gepasseerd van 500m als kortste afstand . Toepassing van de formule voor de berekening voor de derde machtsver-zwakking voor electromagnetische verschijselen geeft ons de te verwachte waarde voor de gemeten waarde van 60µT. Omwille van het feit dat beide verschijnselen zich hebben voorgedaan in het zelfde tijdsbereik is de conclusie duidelijk: het verschijnsel heeft de abnomale uitwijking veroorzaakt in de magnetische veldregistratie.
Het probleem van de opgetreden pieken in de registratie is uiteindelijk opgelost door aanname dat het om een cylinder Ufo ging met 2 afzonderlijke propulsiebronnen : de bevestiging van deze aanname is er gekomen uit documenten op het einde van WO2 gevonden door de Amerikaanse strijdkrachten in de archieven van de Duitse Vergeltunswaffen namelijk de opbouw van hun fameuze * Andromeda Gerät* Het betreft hier duidelijk een cylindervormig toestel met 2 afzonderlijk bronnen als propulsie methode
De noodzaak voor het gebruik van 2 bronnen voor dit type is de vinden in het recente US patent20120105181A .
Dit is het resultaat waar het mij uiteindelijk om te doen was: de mogelijkheid om met instrumentele middelen ook aan UFO detectie te doen met betaalbare middelen en een beetje gezond technisch wetenschappelijk inzicht
Ik denk hiermee een goede bijdrage te hebben geleverd aan het UFO onderzoek in het algemeen
en ga nu voor de nog resterende tijd me enkel nog uitsluitend bezighouden met de informatieve kant over het fenomeen ;

Veel mensen maken nooit wat bijzonders mee in hun leven en bij anderen gebeurt er altijd wat.
Zo zegt de Amerikaanse zangeres Miley Cyrus dat ze een ufo heeft gezien en zelfs een alien in de ogen heeft gekeken.
De bekende Amerikaanse zangers Miley Cyrus is op zijn zachtst uitgedrukt nogal een controversieel individu. “Never a dull” moment met Miley zou je kunnen zeggen en het is dan ook niet zo vreemd dat ze door velen wordt gezien als een Illuminati mind control slaaf.
Wij hebben meerdere artikelen hierover gepubliceerd zoals hier en hier.
Tijdens een interview wat ze onlangs gaf voor een Amerikaans tijdschrift kreeg ze de vraag of ze geloofde in buitenaards leven en vervolgens kwam ze met een heel interessant verhaal.
Ze vertelde dat ze een eigen ervaring had met een ufo waarneming, dat ze ervan overtuigd was dat ze werd achtervolgd door een ufo en dat ze zelfs oogcontact had gemaakt met een buitenaards iemand.
Miley zwakt haar verhaal af door te zeggen dat ze cannabis had gebruikt en dus ook niet meer helemaal zeker weet of hetgeen ze gezien heeft echt is.
Zo zei ze onder andere het volgende:
Ik heb zelf een ervaring gehad. Ik reed samen met mijn vriend door de San Bernadino Vallei (Californië) toen ik werden achternagezeten door een soort ufo. Ik ben er behoorlijk zeker van wat ik zag, maar ik had ook wiet gekocht, dus dat zou het ook geweest kunnen zijn.
De beste manier waarop ik de ufo kan beschrijven is als een soort vliegende sneeuwschuiver en het had een lichtgele gloeiende kleur. Ik was niet de enige die het zag, want mijn vriend zag het ook.
Er waren meer auto’s op de weg en die stopten om te kijken, dus ik denk dat wat ik zag echt was.
Ik ben dagenlang overstuur geweest en een tijdlang kon ik niet meer naar de lucht kijken omdat ik bang was dat ze terug zouden komen.
Op de vraag of ze zich bedreigd voelde, gaf ze het volgende antwoord:
Ik voelde mij eigenlijk helemaal niet bedreigd, maar ik zag iemand zitten vooraan in de ufo. Het wezen keek mij aan en wij hadden oogcontact. Waar ik het meest van overstuur was, is dat ik in de ogen keek van iets of iemand wat ik niet thuis kon brengen.
Het vreemde is dat ook Billy Ray Cyrus, de vader van Miley, een aantal jaren geleden een ervaring had met ufo’s.
Ufoloog Scott Waring noemt Miley Cyrus dapper omdat ze met dit verhaal naar buiten durft te komen. Bovendien wijst hij erop dat er over het algemeen veel ufo’s worden waargenomen in Californië.
Hij vertelt dan verder dan voormalig president Ronald Reagan gouverneur was van Californië toen hij twee keer een ufowaarneming heeft gedaan. De eerste keer was toen hij met zijn vrouw naar een feestje reed in Hollywood en dat zij toen de auto stopten omdat ze een ufo boven de oceaan zagen. De tweede keer was in 1974 toen hij een gloeiend licht zag vanuit zijn vliegtuig boven Bakersfield. Niet alleen Reagen zag dit object, maar ook zijn piloot.
Scott zegt dat ufo’s sneller kunnen vliegen dan het licht, waardoor ze ook aan tijdreizen kunnen doen. Ze kennen daarom de toekomst en het verleden en soms komen ze langs bij bekende figuren omdat die op een gegeven moment een belangrijke rol zullen spelen in de wereldgeschiedenis.
Hij wijst dan op Ronald Reagan die later president werd, maar ook op John Lennon die eveneens een ervaring had met een ufo. En vanuit die redenering komt hij tot de conclusie dat er wel eens een belangrijke rol voor Miley Cyrus kan zijn weggelegd.
Er zijn natuurlijk ook nog andere manieren om naar dit voorval te kijken, zeker vanuit het gezichtspunt dat Miley Cyrus een Illuminati slaaf is. Heeft zij opdracht gekregen om dit soort berichten wereldkundig te maken en zo ja waarom?
Of is het gewoon wat het lijkt. Een jonge vrouw die een bijzondere ervaring heeft wat allemaal niets te maken heeft met het feit dat ze een mind control slaaf is of een bekende zangeres?

Now watching this snake object in the sky makes me wonder...why does all UFOs have to look like disks or orbs? They don't, but we have conditioned ourselves to believe that alien craft are limited in their styles. This object does tighten and then loosen itself opening slightly as if it were alive or was controlled. The eyewitnesses description really grabs me. The part where he said, "I got my camera on them they appeared to stiffen up, picked a direction and then disappeared into the clouds." At that statement I knew...this is 100% an alien craft. UFOs often shoot into clouds to hide. As did this one. Case closed.

I was asked by a Youtube subscriber to think about the Apollo 20 and possibly make a video about it. So I did. It was a long time ago when I chatted with William Rutledge the astronaut that was part of the crew of the Apollo 20 mission. He was about 77 years old, living in Rewanda because he met a beautiful black woman and married here, but she died before him so he stayed in Rewanda as far as I know. When we chatted he kept saying that it may be dangerous posting his videos on YouTube...and he was right. His account was hacked and he got frightened...what 77 year old wouldn't right? Anyways he told me that the woman pilot they recoved from the long cigar ship in Delporte crater was taken back to the module, cleaned up and taken back to a military base on Earth. He said she is not dead, not alive...but in a coma or hibernation state even today. He said there were glass tunnels as big as his arm running up and down the sides of the cigar ship and inside they saw many tiny skeletons of a 2-3cm tall bipedal species. Hundreds he said. But the walkways were mainly made for taller species like humans. The woman pilot was connected to the ship when they found her, two hoses going from the controls into her nostrils...they cut those and took her away. They also saw some yellow rocks that seemed to make a liquid substance dripping slowly from them. He said like a living rock. He also mentioned that they found an even bigger triangle craft near the cigar ship. It had an opening in its outer hull as if someone had already broken into it to search for salvageable technology. Sadly, I have never heard from him or about him since 10-12 years ago. I think he put his best effort forward to get the evidence out and said the hell with it. He did say he got the movie reels from garbage bins near an airfield hanger. Him and another guy asked the security guard there if they could take some...the security guard didn't care, it was all going to be burned. So they took them, William had a few converted from reels to normal video so he could post them on Youtube. Thats it...many people lie and say its been debunked...but they never chatted with him like I did, they never even knew him when he was on Youtube back then. They judge without knowing the full truth. Apollo 20 was 100% real. It was a mission to recover alien technology in order to bring it home and keep American a world power. It worked.

Astrange black octagonal shaped object with a hole in the middle has been observed in the sky over San Martin, California on November 1, 2020.
According to the photographer; if it was a balloon it will be moving but this object stands still mid air, it does not move at all. Later on in the footage the photographer suggests that it is a tire, but he is not sure.
Since the shape of the object is octagonal, it is very questionable whether it is a tire, moreover, like a balloon, a tire will be moving too but that does not happen. Mufon reporthere.

The photograph analyzed here (ESP_013177_1800) was acquired by NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter on 19 May 2009 and is described as 'Possible rootless cones in Hydraotes Chaos.'
The photograph analyzed by Jean Ward shows a strange anomaly that looks like a derelict structure partially buried in sand.
It consists of what appears to be a large ring supported by beams and a long bridging part extends from the middle outward with smaller "L"-shaped parts branching off.
It reminds me of modern/futuristic transport/transit hubs found here on Earth. It may be that this spot was indeed a hub used by Martians before the planet was destroyed by a nuclear catastrophe in the distant past?

SpaceX's next-generation Starship system may help clean up Earth orbit when it's not taking people to the moon and Mars.
Starship is at the heart of SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk's longtime Mars-colonization goal, and he has said that he envisions the rocket-spaceship duo eventually shouldering the company's entire spaceflight load.
If all goes according to plan, Starship'smany tasks will include launching people to far-flung cosmic locales and on superfast "point-to-point" trips here on Earth, carryingsatellites into orbit and — perhaps — collecting and de-orbiting particularly big and troublesome pieces of space junk.
SpaceX president and chief operating officer Gwynne Shotwell highlighted that potential cleanup role recently. During an online "Time 100 Talks" interview with Time Magazine that was posted on Oct. 22, she said that "it's quite possible that we could leverage Starship to go to some of some of these dead rocket bodies — other people's rockets, of course — basically, go pick up some of this junk in outer space."
The "of course" in that last sentence is a nod to Starship's planned reusability, which will be total. The system's giant rocket, known as Super Heavy, will return to Earth for a vertical landing after launching the 165-foot-tall (50 meters) Starship spacecraft to orbit. That spaceship, somewhat confusingly known as Starship, will be able to fly many missions once aloft — going back and forth from Earth orbit to Mars repeatedly, for example. (Starship will be powerful enough to launch itself off the moon and Mars, but it will need help to escape Earth's much deeper gravity well.)
"It's not going to be easy, but I do believe that Starship offers the possibility of going and doing that," Shotwell told Time technology columnist Patrick Lucas Austin, referring to debris mitigation. "And I'm really excited about it."
A growing problem
Space junk poses a serious threat to humanity's use and exploration of the final frontier going forward, many experts say. About 34,000 objects greater than 4 inches (10 centimeters) in diameter are thought to be circling Earth at the moment, according to the European Space Agency. It's much harder to get a handle on the smaller stuff, but the estimates are frightening — about 900,000 or so orbital objects in the 0.4-inch to 4-inch (1 to 10 cm) range and 128 million shards between 0.04 inches and 0.4 inches wide (1 mm to 1 cm).
All of this material would pack a wallop in a collision because of the velocities involved. For example, at the altitude of the International Space Station, about 250 miles (400 kilometers), bodies move at roughly 17,500 mph (28,160 km/h).
The costs of developing, building and launching satellites are dropping, and Earth's orbital space lanes are getting more and more crowded. The fear is that a collision or two could spawn a space-junk cascade, generating clouds of debris that cause further smashups. This scenario, known as the Kessler Syndrome, could make it hard to operate in Earth orbit if things get bad enough. The spaceflight community should therefore start taking mitigation measures now, many exploration advocates say.
We've seen orbital collisions already.
In February 2009, for instance, the defunct Russian military satellite Kosmos 2251 barreled into the operational communications satellite Iridium 33, spawning 1,800 pieces of trackable debris (and many others too small to spot) by the following October. And China and India have generated debris clouds on purpose, during destructive anti-satellite tests in 2007 and 2019, respectively.
SpaceX is one of the major drivers of Earth orbit's rapidly increasing population: The company has already launched nearly 900 of its Starlink internet satellites to low Earth orbit, and it has permission to loft about 12,000 of the craft. But SpaceX is taking pains to minimize Starlink's contribution to the orbital-debris problem, Shotwell said.
The company decided to lower the constellation's operational altitude for this reason, she told Austin. SpaceX's original plans called for first-generation Starlink satellites to fly between 684 and 823 miles high (1,100 to 1,325 kilometers), but the shift in thinking brought them down to an altitude of 340 miles (550 km).
SpaceX's standard operating procedure for Starlink involves deorbiting each satellite before it dies. But flying at just 340 miles up provides a sort of failsafe: atmospheric drag will bring a defunct satellite down from that altitude in just one to five years, according to SpaceX's Starlink page.
"And, in fact, we inject into a lower altitude, so if, for whatever reason, right after launch they're not working well, they come back to Earth" quickly, Shotwell said.
Starlink satellites can also perform collision-avoiding maneuvers autonomously, using information from the U.S. Department of Defense's debris-tracking system, according to the SpaceX Starlink page.
SpaceX is iterating toward the final Starship design via a series of increasingly ambitious prototypes. Three single-engine vehicles have already taken brief 500-foot-high (150 meters) test hops, and the company is preparing the three-engine SN8 prototype for a 9-mile-high (15 km) flight in the coming days or weeks.
The final Starship will have six of the company's new Raptor engines, and Super Heavy will sport about 30 Raptors. SpaceX wants the duo to be up and running relatively soon. Starship is in the running, for instance, to land astronauts on the moon for NASA's Artemis program, which is targeting 2024 for the first of those touchdowns. And Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa has booked a Starship trip around the moon, with a targeted launch date of 2023.
And then there's the Red Planet, the destination that Starship is being built for.
"If the Starship program goes as planned, I do think people will be able to travel to Mars in 10 years," Shotwell said.

A meteorite that landed on a frozen lake in 2018 contains thousands of organic compounds that formed billions of years ago and could hold clues about the origins of life on Earth.
The meteor entered Earth's atmosphere on Jan. 16, 2018, after a very long journey through the freezing vacuum of space, lighting up skies over Ontario, Canada, and the midwestern United States. Weather radar tracked the flaming space rock's descent and breakup, helping meteorite hunters to quickly locate fallen fragments on Strawberry Lake in Hamburg, Michigan.
An international team of researchers then examined a walnut-size piece of the meteorite "while it was still fresh," scientists reported in a new study. Their analysis revealed more than 2,000 organic molecules dating to when our solar system was young; similar compounds may have seeded the emergence of microbial life on our planet, the study authors reported.
Swift recovery of the meteorite from the lake's frozen surface prevented liquid water from seeping into cracks and contaminating the sample with terrestrial spores and microbes. This maintained the space rock's pristine state, enabling experts to more easily evaluate its composition.
In fact, there was so little terrestrial weathering that the fragment brought to Chicago's Field Museum looked like it had been collected in space, said study co-author Jennika Greer, a doctoral candidate in the Department of the Geophysical Sciences at the University of Chicago, and a resident graduate student at The Field Museum.
When space rocks enter the atmosphere at speeds of several miles per second, the air around them becomes ionized. Extreme heat melts away up to 90% of the meteor, and the rock that survives atmospheric passage becomes encased in a 1-millimeter-thick fusion crust of melted glass, said lead study author Philipp Heck, a curator of meteorites at the Field Museum and an associate professor at the University of Chicago.
That surviving fragment inside the glassy crust is a pristine record of the rock's geochemistry in space. And despite a fiery fall to Earth, after the vaporized external layers are carried away, rocky meteorites such as this one are very, very cold when they land, Heck told Live Science.
"I've heard eyewitness accounts of meteorites falling into puddles after it rained, and the puddle froze because the meteorite was so cold," he said.

Mostly unchanged
The Michigan meteorite's ratio ofuranium(isotopes 238 and 235) to the element's decayed state aslead(isotopes 207 and 206) told the scientists that the parent asteroid formed about 4.5 billion years ago. Around that time, the rock underwent a process called thermal metamorphism, as it was subjected to temperatures of up to 1,300 degrees Fahrenheit (700 degrees Celsius). After that, the asteroid's composition stayed mostly unchanged for the last 3 billion years.
Then about 12 million years ago, an impact broke off the chunk of rock that recently fell in Michigan, according to an analysis of the meteorite's exposure to cosmic rays in space, Heck told Live Science.
Because the meteorite was altered so little after its initial heating billions of years ago, it was classified as H4: "H" indicates that it's a rocky meteorite that's high in iron, while type 4 meteorites have undergone thermal metamorphism sufficient to change their original composition. Only about 4% of the meteorites that fall to Earth today land in the H4 category.
"When we're looking at these meteorites, we're looking at something that's close to the material when it formed early in the solar system's history," Greer said.
The meteorite held 2,600 organic, or carbon-containing compounds, the researchers reported in the study. Because the meteorite was mostly unchanged since 4.5 billion years ago, these compounds likely are similar to the ones that other meteorites brought to a young Earth, some of which "might have been incorporated into life," Heck said.
The transformation from extraterrestrial organic compounds into the first microbial life on Earth is "a big step" that is still shrouded in mystery, but evidence suggests that organics are common in meteorites — even in thermally metamorphosed meteorites such as the one that landed in Michigan, he added. Meteor bombardment was also more frequent for a young Earth than it is today, "so we are pretty certain that the input from meteorites into the organic inventory on Earth was important," for seeding life, Heck said.
The findings were published online Oct. 27 in the journal Meteoritics & Planetary Science.
Out in the remote wilds near the village of Tsarichina, in the western region of Kostinbrod, Bulgaria, lies a strange little circular formation that almost looks like a cave that has been filled in with concrete. There isn’t much to it, really, and a lot of people might pass right on by it without even noticing it is there at all. Yet, this nondescript little piece of land is steeped in mystery, and is ground zero for all manner of strange tales of secret operations, UFOs, aliens, and unexplained paranormal phenomena. They call it the Tsarichina Hole, and its story is very bizarre indeed.
The story goes that On 6 December, 1990, the Bulgarian military moved into the region and began excavations on the site, supposedly called “Operation Lightbeam.” Whatever was going on was top secret, as armed men turned curiosity seekers away and trespassers were allegedly dealt with harshly, and the whole place was crawling with military personnel. The rumor at the time was that they were looking for an ancient treasure said to be buried there, the purported hidden treasure of King Samuil. However, according to stories that would eventually leak out, they found something altogether more bizarre down there in the bowels of the earth.
According to supposedly leaked information from a Colonel Tzvetko Kanev, the team’s dig reached a strange spiral tunnel and a mysterious rectangular slab made of an unknown material that could not be explained. Apparently a remote viewer by the name of Eli Loginova was brought in to help them assess the tunnel and the object, and she told them that the slab of stone was a “biological protection slab,” and that it was covered in dangerous bacteria and should not be disturbed. Another psychic called Baba Vanga also claimed that there was a skeleton down in the hole that was “neither man, nor woman,” and both of these psychics claimed that there was something down there in the darkness sending out telepathic messages.
The military apparently nevertheless went into that tunnel to try and excavate the object, and along the way they discovered other anomalies down there, such as a slab in the shape of a concave lens, a depiction in the stone of a humanoid figure of a height dwarfing that of a human, and another tunnel with completely smooth walls, a silvery floor, and walls covered in some sort of hieroglyphics. When they actually tried to approach the slab that they had come from, it was reported that they were repelled by a bright beam of light, and what seemed to be some kind of invisible force field that kept them from getting too close to it. The psychic Vanga warned that the cave was protected, and that whatever was down there was not yet ready to be discovered by humans, that it would defend itself with violent force, if necessary. Other psychics corroborated this, and the clairvoyant Gina Demirova would warn of this:
When excavations in Tsarichina were held, the aliens told me that the research must stop. Do not dig, it’s not your time! There is the center of the Earth – at a depth of 2000 km, there is a finding such as crystals. It is big as the sun when it rises. Do not touch! People will not reach it, but they will disturb the atmosphere. This is a big crystal, which is dangerous and will stay there as long as the Earth. It controls its movement. Stop digging because the earth will perish. Hard days will come for your people. There will be new, many terrible diseases, if you dig in Tsarichina. In the hole, there is underworld, but this is not hell. There are live people like you down there, but their origin is different. There is also space device that is found there. It was sent by an extraterrestrial civilization. There are cosmonauts down there. Thousands of years ago, when your country did not exist, a civilization from another planet sent a spaceship with three astronauts on Earth. They were not humans but robots. They were sent to explore life on Earth. They suffered damage and the space-ship crashed in Tsarichina. With every meter of digging down there, higher and higher radiation will be emitted. Do not dig into Tsarichina hole, it is not your time now!
Alright, then, get all of that? Regardless of this warning they kept digging, and as this excavation was going on there would supposedly be quite a lot of strangeness reported from the surrounding countryside as well. Scared locals were seeing UFOs in the area, ghostly apparitions, and some of them even claimed that they were receiving thoughts beamed into their heads that were not their own. In the meantime, during the full 2 years that this excavation would go on, the remote seer Loginova would claim to be in constant telepathic contact with the entities from the tunnel, who were channeling messages through her. She would allegedly eventually transcribe over 1,000 pages of these massages, and she says they were received in codes that she would decipher. She explained in an interview:
The codes are my cipher letters. More than 1000 pages, which I started receiving during the Tsarichina excavations. The texts are incredible. This is a compilation of ancient writings, which tell about the story of the human creation. How it was created, how it was brought to Earth, how it must survive, what we must do to keep the Earth alive. The Earth is a part of the common planetary synchronicity. This cosmic collactorium wants the Earth to survive. The synchronicity must not be broken, because chaos will ensue. This information is contained in the codes or the ciphered letter received on Tsarichina. They tell about the so-called energy humans. They are marked by them, and through the energy humans they keep the synchronicity on Earth. They choose to come into contact with, in order for this information to be received, because it is very heavy and not every brain can handle that amount of information. I know what the truth is.
Apparently, this was a little too much for other psychics who were purportedly brought in to handle, as one allegedly quit, and another remote viewer Marina Naplatanova committed suicide during the dig. Then, on November 19, 1992, the military suddenly packed up is operation, sealed the hole with concrete, and left. There was no explanation given for why they had abandoned the project, and indeed no official reason for why they had ever been there in the first place. All of the supposed evidence that had been collected for anything found down there in the bowels of the earth was whisked away, labelled as classified, and buried. Loginova would lament:
All the notebooks mysteriously vanished along with all the journals that we composed in Tsarichina. The film, which we shot before the dismissal of the project, also mysteriously vanished. I don’t have any evidence left to certify our work. I can use only my words and hope that people believe me.
Over the years since the excavation stopped there have been numerous rumors and wild tales devoted to the Tsarichina hole. Depending on the story the military found an interdimensional portal down there, alien skeletons, giant power crystals, plans for alien technology, or the secrets of the lost continent of Atlantis. There are also stories that they whisked of a triangular spaceship, leading it to be called the “Area 51 of Bulgaria.” With a story this surrounded by mystery and with this little evidence to back it up, you could come up with whatever theory you want and it would be just as viable as anything else being floated about. Although the story of the Tsarichina Hole has become rather well-known in Bulgaria, it is a mystery that remains rather convoluted, unclear, and without much to show that any of this happened at all. Whatever was going on here, if anything, has been lost to time, possibly covered up, and we may never really know for sure.
That was the question put to me a few days ago while I was doing radio. I have to say I’m probably not the best person to give a positive response on that same question. After all, I’ve written two books on the Roswell affair of July 1947, both of which show why aliens didn’t crashon the Foster Ranch, Lincoln County, New Mexico. I have to admit that up until around 2001 I was a true believer in Roswell. That soon changed, however – and to a significant degree. My view is that if Roswell – the most credible “UFO crash” case for many – turns out not to have alien origins, then what chance is there for the other, lesser credible cases? With all of that said, however, I can say for sure there are claims of dead aliens on ice in well-guarded facilities in the U.K. We need far more than mere claims, however. Right now, though, that’s all we have. I’ll begin with a strange story that dates back decades and that involved a famous journalist who died under controversial circumstances.

Dorothy Kilgallen was an investigative journalist who died in 1965 – when she was doing extensive research into the JFK assassination of November 22, 1963. It’s the 1950s we need to focus on, however. While on vacation in 1955, Kilgallen and her husband, Richard Kollmar, went on holiday to England. While there, she heard a fantastic story. In Kilgallen’s own words penned at the time: “I can report today on a story which is positively spooky, not to mention chilling. British scientists and airmen, after examining the wreckage of one mysterious flying ship, are convinced these strange aerial objects are not optical illusions or Soviet inventions, but are flying saucers which originate on another planet. The source of my information is a British official of cabinet rank who prefers to remain unidentified.” Kilgallen had more to say. She quoted her source as telling her:
“We believe, on the basis of our inquiry thus far, that the saucers were staffed by small men – probably under four feet tall. It’s frightening, but there’s no denying the flying saucers come from another planet.” Kilgallen had more: “This official quoted scientists as saying a flying ship of this type could not have possibly been constructed on Earth. The British Government, I learned, is withholding an official report on the ‘flying saucer’ examination at this time, possibly because it does not wish to frighten the public. When my husband and I arrived here from a brief vacation, I had no premonition that I would be catapulting myself into the controversy over whether flying saucers are real or imaginary.” It’s important to note that Kilgallen’s informant said the alleged aliens that flew the crashed UFO were “probably under four feet tall.” The word “probably” implies that even if the U.K. government did have a crashed saucer, they didn’t actually have dead aliens on ice. And that’s where the story ends (aside from the highly controversial “Marilyn Monroe, Kilgallen and UFOs” document that surfaced publicly in the mid-1990s).

Now, let’s take a look at the second case I have on record. I should clarify that I have more than two. The problem is that the additional twelve cases are so vague – and of a typical friend-of-a-friend-type – they are barely worth addressing. There is, however, one case (a notorious one, to say the least) worth looking at. It all went down (quite literally, perhaps) on the night of January 23, 1974 on the Berwyn Mountains, North Wales. Depending on who you ask, what happened was the crash of a UFO and its crew, a secret military experiment, an earthquake that occurred at the same time as a meteor shower, or sightings of what have become known in Ufology and Forteana as “ghost lights.” But, what about the “dead aliens” angle to all of this? Let’s have a look.
In 1996, an alleged military whistle-blower came forward, claiming that aliens had crashed on the Berwyn Mountains back in January 1974. The pummeled bodies of the dead crew were said to have been secretly rushed to Porton Down (a secure facility in the southwest of England that has worked in the fields of chemical warfare, biological warfare, and hallucinogens), for hasty examination and even hastier preservation. As is so typically often the case in such situations, the source of all this chose not to provide his name to the UFO research community of the day. Instead, he preferred to lurk in the darkness, shrouded in mystery and intrigue. He shared his story only with the late Tony Dodd, who was a North Yorkshire police sergeant and UFO investigator. Dodd chose to give his talkative soldier the alias of “James Prescott,” who was said by Dodd to have been long-retired from the British Army. There’s no doubt that something happened on that night in January 1974. And there’s also no doubt that the Prescott story fired up the U.K.-based UFO research community of that time (1996). That was the very same time when an X-Files-type “I want to believe” fever still had a grip on Ufology. You only have to look at the names of all the glossy, UFO-themed newsstand magazines that hastily hit the newsstands in that era: Alien Encounters, Sightings, UFO Reality, The X-Factor, Enigma, UFO Magazine and…the list goes on. All of those magazines are long gone.
I remember very well the debate and controversy surrounding the Prescott claims in the 1990s. Some UFO investigators were intrigued by it. Others were amazed by it. The fact is, though, that all we have now is all we had back then: an unknown source (with a faked name), and a UFO researcher – the aforementioned Tony Dodd – who stubbornly refused to reveal the real name of his informer, even though he could. For some in Ufology, that might be enough to make a case. It’s not enough for me, though, and it shouldn’t be enough for you, either. Of course, I can never say for sure there aren’t any dead alien bodies hidden away in a well-protected underground bunker below the U.K. countryside. On the basis of the “evidence” that we have right now, however, I say we need way more before we can even come close to making such a case.
A conspiracy theorist who has been searching through archive images from NASA believes he has uncovered some alien truths. The apparent bombshell comes in the form of a disk-shaped object with a flat surface, which can be seen partially buried in the Martian sand - and alien enthusiast Scott C Waring claims the disk is an alien craft.
Writing on his blog UFO Sightings Daily, he said the UFO in question was the same spotted by former US government employee Bob Lazar.
Mr Lazar claims to be a whistle-blower on the US government who says he has proof of aliens.
Mr Waring said on his blog UFO Sightings Daily: "While searching through some NASA archives I came across a Mars photo with a crashed disk in it.
"The disk is very similar to the craft that Bob Lazar worked on in Area S4.

However, the object in question is quite obviously a rock which resembles a manufactured structure.
The brain is wired to see familiar patterns, such as faces for example, when they are not actually there, and this applies to the rock in question.
This is a psychological phenomenon known as pareidolia.

NASA said: "Pareidolia is the psychological phenomenon where people see recognisable shapes in clouds, rock formations, or otherwise unrelated objects or data.
"There are many examples of this phenomenon on Earth and in space."
However, Mr Waring has said that the coronavirus pandemic has proven that humanity has the strength to deal with an alien revelation and NASA should release any evidence it has.
He said: "Much like COVID-19 did to the people in each country as it spread, because the public once believed that such a pandemic would be impossible, and yet, the human race has changed their perspective on that very fast.
"That's how disclosure of intelligent aliens would be, but it would not kill people or frighten them as much."
While searching through some NASA archives I came across a Mars photo with a crashed disk in it. The disk is very similar to the craft that Bob Lazar worked on in Area S4. The craft I found has a thin disk edge rising up to a thicker inner area and an upper hump that is not curved but made with straight lines. I can even see windows in the Mars craft that I found. This orange sphere was seen over Korea last week. The object looks solid and equally balanced on all sides. There is no glowing bottom and its not oval so I know its not a Chinese lantern. Many UFO reports in Project Blue Book are described to be orange and sphere like. With digital cameras getting better and better, its just a matter of time before we get footage of its outer surface in crystal clear video.
