Witness Describes Humanoid / UFO Encounters

My friend & colleague Albert Rosales forwarded a humanoid report from the MUFON CMS. I must admit...this one is quite compelling:

Reigelsville, PA - June 15, 2012 - 2am

This report describes only one encounter. The one that has left me with the most unanswered questions. However, I have had many sightings and feel as though I may be under surveillance. My experiences started when I was eight and persist to this day. I need to speak with someone who has experience with these matters. I need to understand.

I only want to be contacted via email. I do not want my name associated with this report.

A couple years ago, I had been out with friends until around 1:00 am. I was driving home the way I always go. I have a heavy foot and was enjoying an exciting drive on empty roads.

As I was coming up to a nice S curve I noticed what I thought to be a deer moving thru the brush to my right about to cross the road in front of me. I braked hard to avoid a collision.

As the "deer" crossed the road in front of me, I was just clearing the bend and could see the road ahead.

I immediately saw the glowing Kashmir blue light brightly emanating from the "mask/helmet/face" of a tall "man" standing on the left side of the road. "He" must have stood seven feet tall or more. The "deer" ran up to the "man" and stopped directly in front of "him".

In the next second my headlights fell directly on the pair. I had slowed down to a speed of about 15-20 mph to avoid the collision and had a clear direct view. This next second lasted an hour in my mind.

The creature was similar to a deer in size and overall shape. It had a dark brown/grey covering that I want to call fur but was more likely leathery. It had the head similar to a dog with an elongated snout and short ears. It had the build of a greyhound with long legs supporting a smaller, slender frame. The legs were strange. They may have bent backwards but I cannot be sure. I recall that it moved strangely as it crossed the road. It had no visible tail.

The "man" was tall, as I said before with a human build. "He" was wearing a black suit that had several "tools" and pockets. Similar to something a navy seal would wear during nighttime ops. "He" was covered from hard to toe. Gloves, boots, and mask all connected. There was no flesh exposed, like an astronaut's suit. "He" had a visor over his "eyes" that glowed a soft velvety blue brightly. The visor was rectangular with rounded edges and was positioned to be consistent with human anatomy. The light obscured the shape of the head somewhat, but again, it seemed to have a head consistent with human anatomy from a straightforward perspective.

"He" was watching me as closely as I was watching "him" as I passed slowly seven feet away. We made "eye" contact and the blue glow followed me in my rear view mirror until I made the next bend and "he" was out of sight.

At this point a very unsettling thing occurred. I felt "him" call to me. It was like a feeling more than words. It wanted me to come back. It was a strong "urge" to turn around mixed with feelings of peace and tranquility. Suddenly I realized that I had unconsciously brought my car to a stop. This frightened me to my core. It still does. I immediately floored the car and blew the stop sign at the end of the road as I raced to home and safety.

In the years that passed, several small incidents occurred that could be and were written off as just strange. However, a pattern was developing.

It wasn't until four years later that I was able to confirm my suspicions.

My girlfriend and I moved to a secluded location in Upper Bucks County, PA. We used to smoke cigarettes on the front porch late at night. One winter night we noticed a very bright flash of white light coming from the back woods behind the house. It was so bright it could have been lightning, but there was no clouds in the sky. We went to the back yard to investigate becoming suspicious of a possible intruder taking pictures in our woods. The flashing continued intermittently but with no discernible pattern.

I then realized that the light was actually off the ground at least ten feet. This made us uncomfortable and we went inside.

This became a reoccurring phenomena at our home until one night we decided to find the source. We took a gun and a giant spotlight and tried to find it. We drove around the back of our property and discovered that it was definitely coming from our woods. We listened and watched in silence but heard nothing and could only see the light in the sky above not directly towards us. We then drove back to our driveway and began to see it clearly again. I tried to flash it and find it with the spotlight but had no luck. It simply flashed as it pleased with no reaction to us.

Then we heard a familiar sound. It sounded as though a 747 was going overhead. I expected to see a low flying airliner pass overhead but was instead shocked at what I saw. A triangular craft passed slowly overhead maybe a hundred feet above us. It had three red flashing lights at each point and several smaller glowing orange lights in between. It was making the sound of a large jet airplane, however, if it had been a jet it would have deafened us at the distance it passed. It also moved much to slowly to be any type of jet propelled craft. It was approximately 30 feet wide and had cubic features.

The craft moved over us and paused briefly directly over where we thought the source of the light to be coming from. It then vanished without sound and there was no more flashes of light that evening. We assume that it had collected some sort of probe that was spying on us.

This incident frightened my girlfriend and she was no longer willing to investigate the flashing lights that persisted on several occasions.

Not long after that, I became aware that I was being startled awake several nights a week at precisely 3:33 am. It happened so frequently and was so unsettling that I began to research the "condition" I might be suffering from. I tried the suggestions provided by other people experience but came to no solid conclusions. Then I found a page that tied 3:33 am to UFO activity and connected the dots.

Once I became afraid of the possibility of abduction I discontinued discussing anything of the sort with my spouse. I do not want her to be afraid.

Since then we have moved twice and have not encountered any more lights. However, we also quit smoking and quit looking. We don't go out late at night. I forced myself to stop looking at the clock when I wake up at night. I also now use sleep inducing drugs at night and I can't remember my dreams anymore, which suits me fine.

I want to know if anyone else out there has seen this "man" with the blue light or are being monitored by flashing lights. They are not inconspicuous. I also need to know if my new daughter is safe. Is there anyway to be safe? Will a secure bunker keep them out? Is there a possibility that these are non-violent, harmless watchers or are they all invasive abductors?

Please advise.

NOTE: the 3:33 AM wake time is a common phenomenon among abductees. It's interesting that the witness mentioned 'watchers'...that seems to be a description many experiencers have used when witnessing humanoids in remote areas. The 'deer-like' creature is interesting since some witnesses have mentioned animal companions, even Bigfoot, occasionally accompany alien beings / UFO sightings. Bethany, MO - 1/10/2015: I was driving South on I-35 and noticed three lights in my rear view mirror. The lights were on top of each other, two bright lights with a smaller one in the middle. I thought at first it was a big 18 wheeler with lights on only one side - maybe burned out on the other side - and I remember thinking the 18 wheeler must be HUGE because the lights were so big - and high off the road. The road was illuminated in a triangle in front of it, like it was shining down to a point. It followed me for about five minutes, maybe longer, and I kept looking in my rear view trying to figure out what it was. It was so smooth it didn't seem like it was really moving, I kept thinking maybe it was a reflection of something - but then I'd think no, can't be, because it's lighting up the road ahead of it. I saw the tail lights of two trucks up ahead and was relieved, I am not sure what I thought but I was glad to see the tail lights. I looked at least once and the lights were still there and then...they were not there. Just like that. Gone. I thought I should call someone, my husband, my daughter, my best friend, and tell them I just saw a UFO. I can't explain why I didn't even tell my husband when I got home; I didn't tell him until the next day. And I forgot to tell him about the light on the highway coming to a point. Weird. - MUFON CMS

In-heat bull elephant has taken to crushing cars

An in-heat bull elephant has crushed four cars in 10 days at a national park in Thailand, the latest of which had a terrified family inside the vehicle.

The wild bull pachyderm approached the silver car on Saturday, which is stopped in the middle of the road in the Khao Yai National Park. The elephant then appeared to sit on the bonnet briefly before standing up and testing the metal with its foot. The pachyderm then slowly climbed up onto the car, somehow managing to fit all four of its giant feet on the bonnet, crushing it with its weight.

The family inside the car had just arrived at the park, a popular tourist spot, to celebrate National Children’s Day. Khao Yai National Park chief Kanchit Srinoppawan said no one was hurt in the incident but the car’s bonnet was crushed and the windscreen shattered. Less than two weeks ago, on January 1, the same elephant was responsible for damaging three more vehicles.

Patarapol Maneeorn, a vet who has cared for elephants in the park said the animal was “in heat” and likely stressed. "In the mating season, the elephant might have developed some stress. Moving vehicles might have added to the tension," he said.

Finally, indisputable proof: Bigfoot spotted in northern California...(yeah, right)

ROSEVILLE, Cali. - There is new, indisputable proof that Bigfoot exists, and has been spending most of his time in northern California.

The footage was sent to a Paranormal group by a photographer/videographer who specializes in aerial videography using a quadcopter. A quadcopter is a drone that is lifted and propelled by 4 rotors.

The photographer says he was doing a pre-shoot to get some ideas about what they would shoot when the actual shoot day came. When he returned home and reviewed the footage, he noticed what appears to be a large man-like figure in one of the shots. He says he doesn't know if it's a bigfoot or a sasquatch, but he was confused and sent it in to the paranormal group for further analysis.

The footage was taken near Roseville, California. At the end of the video the "expert" says he believes this could be bigfoot. Or a man wearing black pants and a black hoodie. - KHQ

Man hunted down and killed crocodile with spear after it ate his pregnant wife

A fisherman from Kaliro district in Uganda has been hailed as a hero by his villagemates after he killed a crocodile that mauled his pregnant wife. Mubarak Batambuze, 56, of Kibuye village, Nawaikoke sub-county in Kaliro, used a spear to stab the crocodile in the stomach shortly after it had eaten his eight-month-pregnant wife, Demeteriya Nabwire.

She was eaten by the crocodile during the early hours of last Sunday morning as she went to search for firewood on the shores of Lake Kyoga. Residents found slippers Nabwire was wearing, toes, fingers and a mobile phone at the spot where she was devoured by the deadly reptile. Batambuze said the same crocodile is believed to have eaten six women and children who had gone to fetch water at the same spot last year.

He said after discovering that his wife had been killed by the crocodile, he went to the scene and found the beast still resting there. “I went to a blacksmith and paid him sh20,000 (£4.65, $7) so that he could make me a very sharp spear." Batambuze stabbed the crocodile once in the stomach, looped it with a rope and pulled it towards the shore with the help of five other fishermen.

The braveheart was hoisted shoulder-high by the residents who praised him as a hero of the village for being brave enough to kill the crocodile that had terrorised people in the area. Five other people survived being eaten up by a crocodile last year after they were rescued by the residents. In those earlier incidents, the survivors lost their limbs and sustained deep cuts inflicted by the reptile. An official of the Uganda Wildlife Authourity (UWA), John Opio, said the crocodile was 25-footer and weighed over 1,000kg. - New Vision

Ghost roams halls of Idaho high school, turning lights off and on

POCATELLO, Idaho — Did a security camera at an Idaho High school capture proof the school is haunted?

Some students and staffers are so convinced they turned to a paranormal investigation team which also concluded the footage does show a ghost.

“WOW this footage is incredible,” wrote SPIROparanormal on its Facebook page.

The video footage, posted on YouTube, seems flickering and flashing lights throughout the high school’s halls. Then for a few seconds a shadow is visible on one of the cameras. The shadow moves from drinking fountain, to doorway and out into the open hallway before the lights flash again.

The footage was captured over Christmas break according to KIDK-TV.

The paranormal investigators told the TV station the century old school has a haunted history that includes a hanging and drowning inside the building. - Q13 Fox

UFO Sighting During Project Gemini? Evidence Of Mysterious Crafts Found In 50-Year-Old NASA Photo (WATCH)

Evidence of two glowing mysterious objects hovering during the final mission of the Gemini space project was recently discovered by a UFO researcher in an archival NASA photo from 1966, taken almost five decades ago.

Although UFO enthusiasts were warned that the sighting did not mean it was definitely a UFO, the researchers hinted that it could possibly prove that an extraterrestrial observer was monitoring the progress of human history as mankind took its first baby steps into space.

"These two ships are in high detail and are close by to monitor the Gemini mission and to witness human history being made," noted UFO Sightings Daily editor Scott Waring. "Magnificent!"

The latest photographic evidence could prove that all the developments during the U.S. space program might have been witnessed by UFO's and the alien race.

The image, analyzed and reported by prolific YouTube UFO enthusiast Streetcap1 on Saturday, features two multicolored dots captured by Gemini XII, the final mission in the four-year Gemini program, which overall included the first human spacewalk, the first docking of two space ships, and what was then the highest altitude at which a manned spacecraft had ever orbited the Earth - 850 miles, Digital Journal reported.

Although the mysterious objects could be human-manufactured satellites, Streetcap1 theorizes that very few satellites were known to orbit the space back in 1966.

Another 1971 NASA moon mission Apollo 15 photo, taken on the surface of the moon between July 30 and August 2, 1971, created quite a buzz last month after a UFO researcher spotted a mysterious craft hovering over a lunar horizon.

Meanwhile, the latest photo was also carefully turned and enhanced into a video by Streetcap1 in order to study "The Gemini Twins."

"In the days when there were not many satellites launched c.1966, is it possible that these brightly colored objects came to observe man's attempts to conquer space travel? Or are they secret satellites? Either way they are a long way off and I would presume quite large."

A New Petition Calls For Obama’s Support Of Congressional Hearings On Extraterrestrial Presence

On the 7^th of January 2015, Paradigm Research Group (PRG) handed a petition to the White House. The Disclosure Petition VII – Congressional Hearings calls for the U.S. president to offer a support for congressional hearings that would take testimony from a range of witnesses to events and evidence confirming the presence of extraterrestrials engaging mankind. The White House should response to the petition if organizers can get one hundred thousand signatures within 30 days.

The request for disclosure was planned since November 5, 2014 as part of PRG’s Congressional Hearing Initiative. Last year, the group sent a 30-hour recorded video of the Citizen Hearing on Disclosure (CHD) to all House and Senate Members. A mock congressional hearing, the CHD featured 42 researchers and witnesses from the military, government agencies, and politics who testified for a total of 30 hours before six former members of the U.S. Congress over five days. Majority of witnesses in the CHD will also testify under oath before congressional committees.

The White House petition can be obtained at http://www.disclosurepetition.org while information about the CHD can be accessed at http://www.citizenhearing.org.

The “Disclosure Petition I – Disclosure” was presented to the White House on the 22^nd of September 2011, calling President Barack Obama to acknowledge the presence of extraterrestrials formally. The petition managed to get the requirements for a response from the White House and on October 4, 2011, the office responded.

The response said that the U.S. government has no evidence of extraterrestrial life and that they’re engaging the human race. Additionally, the response noted that no credible information yet to suggest that any evidence regarding the life from another planet is being hidden from the public.

Stephen Bassett, PRG executive director, said that the assertions made by the White House in the response are notable for three reasons. First, according to Bassett, they are false, and second, they are indefensible false and the last one is that they mark the first time in human history the office of the president has supplied a position statement in writing on the issue of extraterrestrial presence.

It was in 1968 that the U.S. Congress last held a hearing on the issue of an extraterrestrial presence organized by the Science, Space and Technology, which was known that time as House Committee on Science and Astronautics. Video shows diamond-shaped UFO in England

A man observed a UFO in the sky above the English town of Tynemouth on the night of Monday, January 12. And he recorded the event on video.

The witness, Craig Lowther, says he had just let his dog outside at approximately 11:30 p.m. when he noticed the mysterious arial object. His first impression was that he was watching a plane flying on an unusual flight path. But, as he explains to local media outlet the Chronicle, he noticed that the object had “an unusual colour for a plane and it was not moving as you would expect a plane to move.”

Intrigued by the UFO, Lowther went inside his home to retrieve his video camera. He unfortunately found the camera’s battery dead. So he charged the battery for a few minutes before returning outside. With the UFO still in the sky, he started filming the unusual object.

“I used the zoom so I could get a better look, and what I saw surprised me,” he states. He describes that the UFO “appeared to be a dome with a bulge in the middle and it had pulsating lights on it.”

In the video, this object appears to pulse various colors of light, including white, blue, and purple. But the appearance of pulsing is something that commonly occurs when a camera attempts to focus on a bright object in the dark sky. And, although the shape of the object in the video resembles a diamond, this too is likely an illusion created by the blades of the camera’s iris. As is typical with nighttime photography, it is difficult to ascertain the objects true color or shape from this video. But, based on the witness’s testimony, the object did pulse in the sky and had an “unusual” color.

Lowther says he routinely stargazes at night because his view of the night sky from his home is exceptional. But he says that what he managed to capture on video that night was unlike anything he has seen before.

Pennsylvania witness photographs low flying triangle UFO

A Pennsylvania witness at Valley Forge reported watching a “brightly lit, triangular-shaped object hovering over the trees,” according to testimony in Case 62584 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness was driving home from work northwest along Gulph Road towards Phoenixville and away from King of Prussia when the object was first noticed.

“I noticed three very bright lights just over the tree line in the distance,” the witness stated. “I think I noticed them just about the time I passed the Washington Memorial Chapel. The lights were side-by-side.”

The witness first thought the lights were an airplane.

“But as I drove closer I realized, whatever it was, was too bright and too low to be a plane. I actually started to think that maybe they had built a tower in the park with lights at the top of it, but I knew that wasn’t logical because I would have seen this tower/monument by now.”

The witness then realized that the object might not be moving.

“It was moving, but slowly. When I was finally back on a straight part of the road, I had decided that this was just too weird and started snapping pictures. As I got closer it was more apparent to me that this wasn’t a plane or a helicopter. I considered pulling over, but had someone behind me. It was also very dark and 17 degrees outside.”

The witness uploaded seven images with the MUFON report, which was filed on January 12, 2015: Image 1, image 2, image 3, image 4, image 5, image 6 and image 7.

But after the witness passed the lights, he decided to look back and out the driver side window.

“This is when I realized that it was literally just above the tree line and shaped like a triangle. Once I was past the lights I could distinguish the shape vividly.”

The witness was upset over the experience.

“After my experience, I was a little shaken up. I called my mom, who thought I was just pulling her leg. But after I sent her the pictures, she was convinced. She even went as far as to research sightings in Valley Forge.”

The witness knows the area well and what normally is flying in that space.

“I have been living in the area for almost five years now and I visit the park often. I know this park in and out. I know what the planes flying overhead look like. And I’ve seen my fair share of helicopters and drones. This to me was just so weird and unexplainable. It took me almost a week to even send in my story. I’m open-minded about unexplainable events, but I personally do not come to conclusions without thinking about it first. Even if this was totally explainable, it was still weird and definitely a story worth sharing.”

Valley Forge is an unincorporated settlement located on the west side of Valley Forge National Historical Park at the confluence of Valley Creek and the Schuylkill River in Pennsylvania.

Experts disagree that photos taken by Curiosity rover suggest life on Mars

Considering the fact that a microbial expert recently made news by claiming the photos transmitted back to Earth by the Curiosity rover on Mars are suggestive of earlier life on the Red Planet – a team of researchers disagree strongly that the said photos showing natural features on Mars are made by some form of alien life.

A geologist and associate professor at Old Dominion University, Dr. Nora Noffke, was participating at a NASA event when she came across the said photos taken on Mars by NASA’s Curiosity rover. The photos have telltale features that are very similar to those made by microbial life on Earth, and according to Noffke, the images “reminded me of polygons formed by microbial mats in very shallow pools that dry out during the summer months.”

However, she disagreed that the natural formations could have been made by aliens or any microbial life on Mars, even though she conceded that they looked very much alike to many natural features on Earth. But Noffke is leaving the hypothesis open – she submitted that the only way to know for certain if the formations were made by alien or microbial life was to task the rover to bring back rock samples to Earth for analysis.

Ashwin Vasavada, mission project scientist for the NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California, stated that having examined these images and the domes, cracks, and pockets of features contained in them, he was of the view that these couldn’t have been made any ancient microbial life. Explaining that the images in the photos could be fluvial sandstone, it stands to reason the marks could have been made by a natural process of water transporting sand. But water on Mars?

Just as Noffke had suggested, Vasavada was open to better explanations from other knowledgeable space scientists.

The Curiosity rover is however equipped to examine any natural features of interest more closely, take close-up photos, and to even drill and then extract soil or rock samples for analysis aboard the space machine – and what’s more – the onboard lab has the capability to detect organic molecules from taken samples.

Having arrived Mars since August 2012 when it landed at the Gale Crater, NASA’s Curiosity rover spent a year in Yellowknife Bay before moving out to Mount Sharp, its ultimate destination, and it reached the mountain September 2014.

BBC Recorded A UFO Over London  (Video)

(N.Morgan) In this incredible capture from the BBC, we can see a UFO passing by in the background, while a man is being interviewed. It’s a bright object that seemingly passes through the air with ease. As we’ve discussed in previous articles, these crafts are getting pretty bold in making appearances and now they are being seen more during daytime hours, as well as at night.

Check the sky to the right of the main guy talking. A large light enters the frame and continues to pass from right to left.

Scientists Observe Solar System Planets Like Alien Worlds

What would our solar system's rocky bodies look like if seen at a distance of dozens of light years?

"It takes one to know one," as the old truism goes. When it comes to unraveling the mysteries of far-off exoplanets, the same holds true — one more reason why astronomers want to thoroughly understand the local planets right here in our Solar System.

A new scientific paper moves the ball forward in this regard by simulating how several rocky Solar System bodies would look if glimpsed at the light-years distance of alien worlds. Across such great spans, exoplanets are just dim specks. But what little light does get to us could, the study suggests, imply intriguing details about their surface features, provided we know what to look for.

Previous studies of Earth have demonstrated that oceans, continents and ice caps bounce back strikingly different amounts of light into space. Models demonstrate that even from considerable distances, an observer would be able to pick out the different types of surface materials of water, land and ice. The new study extends this concept to solid worlds unlike Earth, such as Mars and the Galilean moons, to broaden our basis for comparison.

"We eventually want to investigate the surface environments of Earth-like exoplanets, and for this purpose the observable signatures of Earth have been widely studied," said lead author Yuka Fujii, a postdoctoral research scientist at the Tokyo Institute of Technology's Earth-Life Science Institute. "To interpret the data of unknown planets obtained in the future, we also need to know the possible variety of observable features of other, non-Earth-like planets."

The study, titled "Geology and Photometric Variation of Solar System Bodies with Minor Atmospheres: Implications for Solid Exoplanets," has been accepted for publication in the journal Astrobiology.

Staring right at you

Although astronomers have discovered nearly 2,000 exoplanets to date, we know very little about any of them. For the vast majority, we merely possess either a mass or a size measurement. Exoplanets are simply too remote and faint for our current suite of instruments to glean tangible, worldly properties like color, surface features and cloud cover.

Our most detailed exoplanetary information so far has it that a handful of these worlds harbor gases, such as water vapor and carbon dioxide, in their atmospheres. That knowledge comes from signatures imprinted by those gases onto light that has passed through the atmosphere. The measurement, though, is indirect. The light assumed to pertain to the exoplanet is separated out from the overwhelming glare of its star.

Fujii's study goes a step further in considering worlds that we will "directly image." The distinction: The light from a directly imaged world is just from the world itself, not inferred from within a star's comparatively blinding glare. This happens to be how we study planets in the Solar System: We look right at them rather than teasing their presence out from a blaze of light.

Less than two dozen exoplanets have been directly imaged to date. The potential advantage of this technique is to be able to distinguish features on small, rocky exoplanets, the best places we think for life to arise.

Today's top-notch telescopes, like the Hubble and Spitzer Space Telescopes, will not be up to this task, however. Instead, we must wait for next-generation telescopes and specialized instruments that can collect the planetary light more efficiently than today's instruments, separately from the host star. Several of these instruments in the works may utilize the James Webb Space Telescope, slated for launch in 2018, and the "thirty meter" class of telescopes on the ground.

From here to there

To lay a foundation for this future work, Fujii's study rendered Solar System worlds as far-off, dim exo-worlds. Fujii and colleagues collected existing data, as well as some fresh observations of Mercury, the Moon, Mars and the four Galilean moons of Jupiter (Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto).

Because these bodies are all relatively close, detailed maps have been made of their surfaces, consisting of thousands of pixels. Exoplanets, however, owing to their distance, can occupy only a single pixel — a so-called point source. To render Solar System bodies as point sources, Fujii averaged the total color, or brightness, of their numerous pixels down to a single pixel. (Ice, for instance, reflects more light than land, so it has a brighter color.)

As a world rotates, the brightness of this single pixel varies over time if the world's surface is not all the same. For example, when Earth rotates such that the vast Pacific Ocean faces toward an observer, the planet's overall brightness changes compared to when, say, the giant landmass of Asia swings into view.

"Due to the spin rotation, we see different slices of the surface at different times," said Fujii. "So if the brightness varies as the planet rotates, it indicates non-uniform surface material." [10 Planets That Could Host Alien Life]

Telltale light changes

The various worlds considered in the study did demonstrate average color variations over time that could be explicitly tied to factors affecting their surface compositions.

For a waterless body like the Moon, regions with potentially large contrasts to elsewhere on the lunar surface are "maria," the dark lava fields that form the pareidolic "Man in the Moon" patterns. And sure enough, the Moon stood out as a Solar System object with discernibly dissimilar light-reflecting regions.

Mercury, though it has a fairly uniformly gray color, has smooth plains covering 40 percent of its otherwise heavily cratered surface. The effect on its light reflectance patterns was similar in some ways, but not as dramatic as that of the two-tone Moon.

Io, meanwhile, jumped out thanks to its raging volcanoes, which have slathered the surface in yellows and reds, famously looking like pizza. The brightnesses of the other three Galilean moons, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto, fluctuated because of patches of darker material deposited on lighter, water ice. Ganymede's light patterns also hinted at its rumpled surface, with grooves and ridges owing to past internal heating events.

Mars, interestingly, had a lot of light variability at longer wavelengths, because fine-grained particles on the Red Planet's surface scatter these forms of light. The iron oxides, or rust, that covers a significant portion of Mars, however, are efficient at absorbing shorter wavelength light. So the notable presences and absences of certain wavelength of light told a convincing tale of what large expanses of the Mars' surface are like.

Overall, over the course of a single rotation of a planet or moon, these geological characteristics caused changes in brightness ranging from five percent to a quote noticeable 50 percent.

Getting the basics down

The results point to how we might, with direct imaging, begin to pick out exoplanets with distinct, yet familiar geologic histories and perhaps even habitable conditions.

One major aspect that the study sidesteps is the lack of atmospheres in the chosen worlds. Intervening gases, and especially clouds, can make surface characterization difficult or impossible using direct imaging. For example, the thick, cloudy atmospheres of Venus or Saturn's moon, Titan, completely hide their faces.

But in the case of Earth, although clouded here and there, the primary surface entities of continents, oceans and ice caps, can clearly be identified even at tremendous distance, the evidence suggests.

Although indirect atmospheric characterization of habitable exo-worlds will surely precede direct surface imaging, both of these techniques will need to be brought to bear to figure out if, and what sort of, alien life has developed.

"We think this kind of survey is useful," said Fujii, "because in terms of astrobiology, we will be interested in the details of the planetary surfaces after we know the atmospheric profiles."

Along with setting aside atmospheres for now, another caveat of Fujii's study is that the first solid, potentially life-friendly exo-worlds we will likely directly image will be significantly heftier than Earth. These "super-Earths" are on the order of up to twice Earth's width and several times its mass. Per their bigness, super-Earths will be easier to find and examine.

"We wish we had super-Earth counterparts in the Solar System, because then we would definitely study their properties first," said Fujii.

Even so, building upon Fujii's results, astronomers should be well-placed to get a bead on super-Earth surfaces — at least compared to familiar Solar System objects.

"Now that we have a handful of planets and satellites in the Solar System whose properties we know in some detail," said Fujii, "we want to make the most of that knowledge, which we consider as necessary target practice."

UFO mania: 20 Facts About the Black Knight Satellite

This “Artificial Satellite” has caused mayor media interest since the late 50′s, and it has become one of the most talked about objects in space.

First thought to be an Russian spy satellite, the Black Knight satellite has gripped the interest of millions worldwide. 

Here are some interesting facts about this mysterious object: 

1. According to monitoring agencies around the world, The Black knight satellite has been transmitting radio signals for over 50 years now.
2. The USA and Soviet Union have shown particular interest in this “unidentified space object”
3. Rumors are that it was Nikola Tesla the first man to “intercept” a signal from the black knight satellite in 1899 after building a high-voltage radio device in Colorado Springs.
4. Since the 1930′s Astronomers worldwide have been reporting strange radio signals which allegedly come from the “Black Knight”.
5. In 1957, Dr. Luis Corralos of the Communications Ministry in Venezuela photographed it while taking pictures of Sputnik II as it passed over Caracas.
6. The story of the Black Knight made its media debut in the 1940′s when the St. Louis Dispatch and The San Francisco Examiner wrote about the “Satellite” on May 14th 1954.
7. The Time Magazine wrote about the Black Knight Satellite on the seventh of March, 1960.
8. In 1957, an unknown “object” was seen “shadowing”  the Sputnik 1 Spacecraft. According to reports, the “unidentified object” was in Polar orbit.
9. In 1957. The United Stated nor the Russians possessed the technology to maintain a spacecraft in Polar Orbit.
10. The first Polar orbiting satellite was launched in 1960.
11. Polar orbits are often used for earth-mapping, earth observation, capturing the earth as time passes from one point and reconnaissance satellites. This would put the Black Knight in the category of a observational Satellite.
12. In the 1960′s the Black Knight satellite was located once again in Polar Orbit. Astronomers and Scientists calculated the objects weight to be over 10 tons which would be at that time the Heaviest Artificial Satellite to orbit our Planet.
13. The Black Knight’s orbit was unlike any other object orbiting Earth.
14. The Grumman Aircraft Corporation gave much importance to this mysterious “Satellite”, On September 3, 1960, seven months after the satellite was first detected by radar, a tracking camera at Grumman Aircraft Corporation’s Long Island factory took a photograph of the Black Knight satellite.
15. The Grumman Aircraft Corporation formed a committee to study the data received from the observations made but nothing was made public.
16. In 1963, Gordon Cooper was launched into space. On his final orbit, he reported seeing a glowing green object in front of his capsule in the distance moving towards his Spacecraft. The Muchea tracking station, in Australia, which Cooper reported the object to, picked up this Unidentified object on Radar travelling East to West.
17. It was the Ham Radio operator who apparently  decoded a series of signals received from the UFO Satellite and interpreted it as a star-chart centered on the Epsilon Bootes Star System
18. According to the decoded message, the Black Knight satellite originated from the Epsilon Bootes Star System 13.000 years ago.
19. On August 23, 1954 the technology magazine Aviation Week and Space Technology released a story about the Black Knight Satellite that angered the Pentagon who were trying to keep the information secret.
20. NASA has released official images which apparently show the Black Knight Satellite.

Texas couple describes triangle UFO at 20 feet

A Texas couple near Leon Valley and San Antonio reported watching a slow moving, silent, triangle-shaped object just 20 feet off of the ground that appeared to be partially transparent move behind their home and yard, according to testimony in Case 62530 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The reporting witness reveals the encounter from both her and her husband’s point of view. The two were outside having a cigarette at 11:45 p.m. on November 26, 2014, when the object first came into view.

“Me and my husband went out to the front yard by our trucks to smoke a last cigarette and my husband wanted to wait until midnight to wish me happy birthday,” the reporting witness stated. “We didn’t bring our phones with us because we weren’t planning on taking long.”

The husband first pointed out the object to his wife just as she was going to pass him a cigarette lighter.

“I turn around and see ‘it’ going through the top portion of the tree across the street and hovering about 20 feet low and it was going like 2 mph over us and into my backyard and house.”

The following is told from the wife’s point of view.

“In my opinion it had a shape like a Ouija hand piece with four ports/circles – and something in the middle of it between the ports? ‘It’ was made of some sort of metal material. I saw this from about 20-25 feet above me so I see the belly of this ‘thing.’”

But the scene had additional unusual details.

“The trippy thing about this was it was cloaked or transparent to me. In my opinion ‘it’ had a predator’s cloak/transparency, not totally invisible, like you can see some of it, but it was kind of blurry like summer’s heat haze. The main color to me was dull black/gray with some bronzish-like color, not bright at all. It had four port – two on each side – that color was reddish/orangish/yellowish – very dim glow to it with a defined black trimming around ports and there was something in the middle of ‘its’ center in between the ports?”

The object looked like a single piece.

“’It’ looked like it was made out of one sheet of metal. There were no panels, rivets, sections, windows, fumes, smell. When I first saw this I couldn’t believe my eyes or brain. Me and my husband were frozen out of shock. All we could do is rotate around. I wanted to run to the middle of street to see if it sees me, but I couldn’t move. Then I wanted to throw the lighter at it to see if it makes a sound or see what its reaction was, but I was afraid that it would zap me or something.”

They watched the object move.

“We saw it go over us and behind my house and yard. My feelings to this were scared, nervous, curious, adrenaline, denial, reality shattered. My husband did not want to be involved with this report, so he gave me his POV and his sketch.”

The wife then explains what happened from her husband’s point of view.

“He was asking for a lighter when he heard some leaves fall across the street. That’s when he saw ‘it’ creep up in the top portion of the tree. It went through the tree’s top. His description of ‘it’: Color: flat black/gray, tan, reddish/orange. My husband says he doesn’t know if ‘it’ itself was organic. There were no smells or trails/vapors. In his opinion it had a moth-like body with wings closed upside down. To him ‘its’ transparency was like bee wing material I guess membrane-ish. He felt excited, nervous, shocked.”

The movement of nearby leaves caused her husband to look in the direction of the craft.

“If it wasn’t for him hearing the leaves fall I wonder if we would have noticed ‘it.’ After this happened, I had told him to just draw it – don’t talk. I wanted to make sure I wasn’t delusional. He drew his sketch. I drew mine. It was so eerie. I knew we had seen something.”

The couple then noticed other odd things happening in the immediate area.

“As we were reflecting back at what happened we notice a lot of weird things. First, we live in major city, one block away from a busy street and concrete plant and in the hood – there’s always some sort of sound. About 10 seconds before this happened, there was zero noise. No animal, traffic, environmental noise. The street light or house lights didn’t flicker or dim when this ‘thing’ went over us. The street light didn’t illuminate ‘it.’ And ‘it’ didn’t cast a shadow. It seemed to reflect light. It kind of seemed holographic.”

The witness described the object.

“’It’ was about 20 feet above us. Its measurements were about 5-7 feet long and 3-5 feet wide and 1-3 feet in height.”

The next day they explored the area where the object had been seen.

“We went out the next morning to see if anything happened to the tree or street or house. Nothing happened – no broken/bent branches, nothing burnt. Not one trace of anything. Birds still gather there. We have no idea of where it went after that. We don’t know if it went through my backyard’s trees or the houses behind us. We just saw it go behind our house and yard.”

The two wonder about what exactly they saw.

“That is so freaky. Was something in there? Was there a purpose in being so low and slow? Did ‘it’ see us? Both of our concepts of reality are shattered.  My husband never once doubted himself of what he saw. I’m sometimes in denial, but I know what I saw. It’s just hard for me to accept what happened and my mind permanently tattooed the event. How can this be? Will it come back? Now I’m constantly looking at the trees and sky. I don’t know if it will return. Please anybody have any info/experience please share with me?”
