Undercover researchers expose new species of lizard for sale on Philippine black market

Rafe Brown, curator-in-charge of the herpetology division at the University of Kansas' Biodiversity Institute, has devoted years to cataloging and conserving the biodiversity of the Philippines, a nation he views as an ecological treasure house.

It's no wonder that Brown finds Manila's wide-ranging black market in exotic animals to be "bizarre and grotesque." He said Manila's criminal trade in animals ranges from pet stores "with many endangered and illegal species hidden behind the scenes" to major international wildlife violators and wholesale smuggling rackets.

"The operations involve everything from sea turtles, to ivory, to tiger parts and rhino horns," Brown said. "These involve private individuals, pet store owners, politicians, zookeepers and corrupt government officials. Many animals are sold as pets and 'captive breeding' stock and zoo specimens. Many are sold as food, many are slaughtered and sold as parts for 'medicinal' purposes and aphrodisiacs, and many are huge, high-stakes status symbols for the wealthy elite -- such as tigers, monkeys and Komodo dragons."

Recently, amid this commerce, Brown and colleagues discovered two species of water monitor lizard that were previously unknown to science. They have just published descriptions of the new species in the journal Zootaxa, along with an analysis of Manila's illegal pet and bush-meat trade in the journal Biological Conservation. Moreover, a film documentary about their remarkable discovery is in the works.

"Over a five-year period we visited pet markets, roadside bush-meat stands and various other markets where monitor lizards were sold as pets or meat," said the KU researcher. "We used to walk around pet markets and side streets talking to traders using circuitous conversation and eventually getting around to asking them if they had 'anything else' behind the scenes or in the back room."

Oftentimes, sellers would offer Brown and his fellow researchers "a turtle or monitor lizard or some other animal which they should not have had in their possession," he said. The team purchased these reptiles to genetically analyze them at KU in an effort to help Philippine police and conservationists.

"Our plan was to build genetic databases to use as enforcement references for confiscated animals, to empower local enforcement officials with the forensic, scientific and legal means of establishing a confiscated animal's provenance," Brown said. "We were aware that traders routinely mislead buyers with fantastic stories of animals' origins to fetch a higher price, so we reasoned that genetic methods could pinpoint an animal's origins when a trader's account was not to be trusted."

In the process, to their surprise, the researchers found genetic varieties of water monitor lizards that varied sharply from those common to the areas surrounding Manila. This was their first clue that additional species diversity might exist, hidden within the northern Philippine water monitor lizard population.

"Both are gorgeous, black-and-white or black- and yellow-colored animals," Brown said. "They are dark in general appearance with bright speckling of white or yellow spots arranged in rows and stripes around the body, as if wearing shining necklaces. One gets up to a little over three feet in length, and the other is somewhat larger at about four feet. They're monitor lizards, so they're alert, with large eyes, continually flicking long tongues, which they 'smell' with, and they're generally very alert and look quite intelligent."

Back at KU, Brown and his colleagues Luke Welton, now with Brigham Young University; Cameron Siler, now with the University of Oklahoma, and Mae Diesmos, with the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, sequenced the mitochondrial and nuclear DNA of the monitor lizard samples. They found the two lizards were "morphologically cryptic," meaning they looked much like known species of monitor lizard, but their genetic variation indicated they were evolutionarily distinctive, qualifying them as unique species. The researchers named the lizards Varanus dalubhasa and Varanus bangonorum.

According to Brown, conservationists had overlooked the lizards because they were considered to be the same as another, widespread species. Now, the two new species are becoming a priority for conservation efforts.

"They were confused with species that were physically very similar in scale numbers, shapes, color patterns and body size," he said. "But even though they looked similar, it now makes perfect sense to us in hindsight that they should be distinct and considered separate species because they come from different areas -- a separate island in one case and an isolated peninsula in another. Both have been isolated for considerable geological time."

From other animals procured from Manila's black market, the KU-based research team found that half of the time traders had misled them, reporting "exotic" locales for their animal wares in hope of getting higher prices.

"We used standard DNA sequencing technology, determined the genetic types of the samples from traders, compared them to our wild-caught, known-locality samples and then 'ground-truthed' what the traders told us versus what the genetics inferred," Brown said.

According to Brown, much of the illicit trade has moved online recently, where traders utilize social networks to hawk animals.

"Whereas two years ago, deals were frequently made in the back alleys of streets of Manila, most are now made online, using the most rapidly growing scourge of wildlife protection -- Facebook," he said. "Today, Facebook is the primary means with which unscrupulous individuals deal in wares of illegally harvested wild animals." - EurekaAlert

Shinnocock, NY - 8/1972: I was with my girlfriend on the beach at Fire Island, NY watching a meteor shower in August of 1972. a large object appeared over the ocean. we first thought it was just a large meteor. but it hovered above the ocean and changed direction. it settled into the ocean approximately 1/2 mile from us. we could see it shining under the water. it traveled quickly through the ocean towards our location. I had never seen anything like it before or since. there was a jetty and a small light beacon that I climbed on to get a better look. the object was coming quickly. the next thing we both knew was that it was almost 3am. over 4 hours passed without any sensation of time passing. both myself and my girlfriend were shaking and had an incredible sensation of fear. neither of us could remember what happened during the lost period of time. I will also add that neither myself or my girlfriend ever used drugs or alcohol. we were both sober and wide awake at the time of the event. my girlfriend was never the same after that. she withdrew from the world and never wanted me to see her again or to ever remind her of that night. as for myself. I have had a severe sleep disorder my entire life since that night. I have the same nightmare that I am being chased several nights a week for over 40 years.

I never get to see what or who is chasing me and I never know why I am being chased.

This is a fact. I am not crazy or a liar. I have told this story to many of my friends most of my life. I did not make it up, and I have been laughed at most of my life because I told people about this event. Witness photographs UFO hovering over small NM town

New Mexico witness driving south of Hatch reported watching and photographing an “extremely large, completely black” object hovering in the sky that could not be identified, according to testimony in Case 62646 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness was driving at 4:30 p.m. on January 15, 2015, when the object was first seen.

“I continued to monitor it as we drove and eventually took I-10 westbound and the entire time I was going through what it could possibly be,” the witness stated.

The witness attempted to identify the object.

“Would a helicopter hover hundreds of feet for approximately an hour? I don’t know much about helicopters, so I don’t know. Could it be a weather balloon? Maybe, but it seemed extremely large and completely black. I am so very curious about what it could be and I felt a frustration at not being able to identify it.”

The witness pulled over for gasoline along westbound I-10 for about 15 minutes.

“When we came out of the gas station 10 minutes later, it was gone.”

Unidentified Flying Objects – the reality, the cover-up and the truth 

Unidentified Flying Objects, or UFOs as they are commonly known, have been witnessed by millions of people all over the world and have been recorded in history books, myths, legends and traditions for thousands of years. However, many accounts that are recorded in ancient texts are dismissed as mere myths and legends, while UFO sightings that have taken place in the last few centuries have been classified as misinterpretations of natural phenomena, illusions, or conspiracy theories. History has shown us time and again that a plethora of so-called ‘myths’ have their basis in reality. It is possible, and indeed likely, that stories and legends were a way for people to explain real—and perhaps perplexing—events using the knowledge and beliefs of their time. In support of this theory, a number of events described in mythology, which were once considered mere fairy tales, have now been proven through archaeology to have existed. A famous example is the city Troy, which is central to Homer’s ‘The Iliad’. Long considered to be a city of myth, Heinrich Schliemann’s discovery of the actual site in 1868 elevated it to a place in history. Nevertheless, the remainder of The Iliad is still viewed as a myth and fantasy without any serious attempts being made to investigate whether or not there may be more truth behind the tale.  The same goes for many accounts of ‘flying machines’, which we find reference to in countless mythologies from numerous different cultures around the world.

Ancient Astronaut Theory

The topic of flying objects and supernatural beings from out of our world is one in which we find multiple references in mythologies.  All of these myths and legends, along with archaeological evidence such as rock art depictions, have created a wave of theories that gave birth to the ‘Ancient Astronaut’ perspective, which links all of these ancient references and depictions to UFOs, and posits that extra-terrestrials visited Earth and made contact with humans in antiquity and prehistory, influencing the development of human cultures, technologies, and religions.

Unfortunately, there are numerous charlatans who have tried to ‘cash in’ on this movement for profit or publicity, or who have diminished it with caricatures of little green men, resulting in the ancient astronaut perspective being widely criticized and attacked for its lack of credibility. Consequently, what is in fact a plausible and possible explanation for what we see in ancient art and texts, is now rarely examined by scholars, who fear being ridiculed or having their professional career seriously undermined.

UFO sightings in recent history

But let’s leave the ancient past for a while and examine just the last 80 years of human history. Millions of people all over the globe have witnessed unidentified flying objects. Many have been recorded in detailed reports witnessed by police, pilots, astronauts, government officials, pilots, military personnel and, of course, ordinary citizens. Some of the more well-known cases were witnessed by thousands of people at one time. Historical records make it evident that UFO appearances magnified during and after World War II, including the example of the famous ‘Foo Fighters’.

While most sightings can be explained either by celestial phenomena, airplanes, planets, weather phenomena, military exercises, or in some cases drug use or mental instability, there still exists a small percentage that cannot be accounted for by any of these explanations. This is what makes the phenomena important and not to be ignored, particularly considering that sightings are frequently reported around military bases and airfields and are therefore, at the very least, a matter of both national security and air safety.

It is an undeniable fact that there are cases of unidentified objects in our skies. It has been acknowledged by the major governments from all over the world simply through the very fact that official research has been conducted on the matter in the US, UK, Russia, Europe, China, South America, and many others. All of this research, in every single case, concluded that there is a percentage of phenomena that cannot be explained.

In the past decade, many countries have declassified their UFO research files, releasing thousands of documents through the Freedom of Information Act and making numerous UFO cases available in the public domain. One recently released document from the UFO files in Britain, revealed how Churchill, concerned about the UFO issue, ordered a shutdown of information for at least 50 years to prevent mass panic and the potential to undermine religious beliefs. The document in question was also published on the BBC news site in 2010.

By doing careful research on the topic, passing over obvious scam and fake stories, it is clear to see that unidentified flying objects do exist. So the question is not whether they exist or not, but rather, what are they? Are they of terrestrial or extra-terrestrial origin? And what is their purpose?

UFOs and the limits of science

Many prominent scientists have already stated that other civilizations must exist in the Universe, and that it would be statistically impossible for this not to be the case. However, with our knowledge of science and technology today, we cannot yet support the means for  interstellar travel, and since we have not discovered intelligent life in our solar system, the assumption is made that there must be no way that extra-terrestrials could have travelled to Earth. However, this argument is of course flawed because it is based within the framework of our own understanding of the universe, and does not take into account the capabilities of civilizations that may be millions of years ahead of our own.  It also hinges on the following assumptions:

1. We know everything about physics and reality and therefore there is no way that such distant travel can be achieved.
2. We are using our means to try to contact other civilizations (e.g. SETI’s attempts to pick up radio or communication signals) and since we don’t perceive any signals of OUR type, nothing must exist.
3. We are looking for organic forms of life exactly like us and for planets with the exact same conditions as ours.

It is clear that these arguments show the arrogance of mankind, a mankind that may just be an infant in the Universe. And this is not new. During the history of humanity, in every single period of time, we believed that we knew the truth, only to have it replaced later on by new ‘knowledge’.

Quantum physics, still a relatively new and unexplored field in Science, has shown that reality could be completely different to what we believe it to be. Powerful telescopes have shown distant planets in solar systems that could possibly sustain life. Theories of wormholes and warp drives have shown that at a theoretical level we could achieve interstellar travel. Yes, we would require incredible amounts of energy to even think of trying to achieve something like this, so according to our standards today it is impossible to achieve, but in theory it can be achieved.

“It now seems quite clear that Earth is not the only inhabited planet. There is evidence that the bulk of the stars in the sky have planetary systems. Recent research concerning the origin of life on Earth suggests that the physical and chemical processes leading to the origin of life occur rapidly in the early history of the majority of planets within our Milky Way galaxy–perhaps as many as a million–are inhabited by technical civilizations in advance of our own. Interstellar space flight is far beyond our present technical capabilities, but there seems to be no fundamental physical objections to preclude, from our own vantage point, the possibility of its development by other civilizations.” Carl Sagan, Ph.D. (Late Professor of Astronomy and Space Sciences, Cornell University)

Reluctance to engage with the UFO subject

The reason that the scientific community is not dealing seriously with UFOs is because the topic has been extensively ridiculed both by the media and in academic circles, with false information spread everywhere.  For similar reasons, military personnel, astronauts, pilots, and other categories of professionals do not want to talk because, either they have been forced to sign confidentiality agreements, or because of fear that their careers would be destroyed. This is why we have seen many examples of ‘death bed confessions’.

One such case was with astronaut Gordon Cooper, who told the world about his experience encountering a UFO during his flight in the Mercury capsule in 1963. Before he died he stated: “for many years I have lived with a secret, in a secrecy imposed on all specialists in astronautics. I can now reveal that every day, in the USA, our radar instruments capture objects of form and composition unknown to us”.

While great efforts have been made to ridicule and disparage anyone who lends support to the existence of UFOs, the fact remains that there are numerous high-profile cases that are supported by solid evidence, and which should not be dismissed.

Recorded UFO sightings with extensive witness support

Below I present a very limited list constituting strong evidence for the existence of unidentified flying objects in the last 60 years.

November 1942 – LA Incident, known as the Battle of Los Angeles

It all happened in the early hours of February 25 in 1942. An aircraft flew over LA County that sparked an air raid alert (it was in the midst of WWII). Searchlights and guns were locked onto the aircraft for about an hour. The picture below appeared in the LA Times in a story about the Battle of LA It clearly shows a night time defensive response to an air raid. The aircraft was not hostile and obviously was not damaged by the attack. The Government stated that the craft they were shooting at was unidentified.

December 1980 – Rendlesham Forest Incident, Suffolk UK

This incident involved a group of American servicemen stationed at a military base in Suffolk that contained a storage centre with nuclear weapons.  There had been three consecutive night of sighting objects in the sky over the base, in some cases shining a light down upon the nuclear weapons storage. On the third night, approximately two dozen servicemen were sent into the forest to investigate one set of mysterious lights. The men reported seeing a spacecraft on the ground in close proximity to them and three extra-terrestrial beings. One serviceman claimed to have touched the craft.  The whole incident was filmed and photographed by one of the servicemen, but all photos and videos were removed by the US military. When the British Government released the UFO files, the Rendlesham incident papers were missing – as reported on BBC.

November 1986, Japan Air Lines Flight 1628 over Alaska

In November, 1986, a Japanese crew of a jumbo freighter aircraft witnessed three enormous unidentified objects while flying over Alaska, USA. This sighting gained international attention when the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced that it was going to officially investigate this sighting because the Air Route Traffic Control Center in Anchorage, Alaska, had reported that the UFO had been detected on radar. The UFOs in this case were tracked on both ground and airborne radar, witnessed by experienced airline pilots, and confirmed by a FAA Division Chief.

April 1990 – Belgium UFO wave, Petit Rechain Belgium

The Belgium UFO wave began in November 1989. The events of 29 November would be documented by no less than thirty different groups of witnesses, and three separate groups of police officers. All of the reports related to a large object flying at low altitude. The craft was of a flat, triangular shape, with lights underneath. This giant craft did not make a sound as it slowly moved across the landscape of Belgium. The Belgium UFO wave peaked with events on the night of 30/31 March 1990. On that night, unknown objects were tracked on radar, chased by two Belgian Air Force F16s, photographed, and were sighted by an estimated 13,500 people on the ground – 2,600 of whom filed written statements describing in detail what they had seen. Following the incident, the Belgian air force released a report detailing the events of that night.

March 1997 – Phoenix Lights, Arizona, US

The Phoenix Lights (also identified as "Lights over Phoenix") was a UFO sighting which occurred in Phoenix, Arizona, and Sonora, Mexico on Thursday, March 13, 1997. Lights of varying descriptions were seen by thousands of people between 19:30 and 22:30 MST, in a space of about 300 miles (480 km), from the Nevada line, through Phoenix, to the edge of Tucson. Witnesses claim to have observed a huge square-shaped UFO, containing five spherical lights or possibly light-emitting engines. Fife Symington, the governor at the time, was one witness to this incident; he later called the object "otherworldly."

October 2004 – Osaka airport, Japan

On the night of August 30, a cluster of multi-colored lights was seen floating in the sky above Osaka. Several people reported to Twitter that they saw a group of lights forming a triangular shape and flashing green, red and white in the night sky above Izumi city in Osaka Prefecture. The sightings caused a commotion on Twitter after one user wrote: “Everyone in Osaka, go outside! There’s a UFO!” prompting others to grab their cameras and snap up photos of mysterious luminous object.

November 2006, O-Hare Airport, USA

At approximately 16:15 CST on Tuesday November 7, 2006, federal authorities at Chicago O'Hare International Airport received a report that a group of twelve airport employees were witnessing a metallic, saucer-shaped craft hovering over Gate C-17.

The object was first spotted by a ramp employee who was pushing back United Airlines Flight 446, which was departing Chicago for Charlotte, North Carolina. The employee apprised Flight 446's crew of the object above their aircraft. It is believed that both the pilot and co-pilot also witnessed the object.

Several independent witnesses outside of the airport also saw the object. According to the Chicago Tribune's Jon Hilkevitch, "The disc was visible for approximately two minutes and was seen by close to a dozen United Airlines employees, ranging from pilots to supervisors, who heard chatter on the radio and raced out to view it."

May 2007, UFO Fleets, Lima, Peru

The incident took place on May 2007 at 14.00 local time in Lima Peru. A series of moving lights resembling an armada of flying objects appeared in the skies. The story was reported on the news and was seen by thousands of people.

July 2010 – Xiaoshan Airport, China

An unidentified flying object that disrupted air traffic in Hangzhou for an hour on Wednesday, 10^th of July 2010. A flight crew preparing for descent first detected the object around 8:40 p.m. and notified the air traffic control department. Aviation authorities responded within minutes, grounding outbound flights and diverting inbound ones to airports in Ningbo and Wuxi. Eighteen flights were affected. A spokesman from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) confirmed to ABC News that the matter is under investigation. He declined to disclose further details. A day after the sighting, however, an anonymous source told China Daily that authorities already discovered the identity of the UFO after an investigation but could not publically disclose the information because "there was a military connection."

Disclosure

Many would say that the above examples constitute irrefutable proof that extra-terrestrial UFOs exist. So why isn’t the public told about it?  Imagine the implications that disclosure would have and what it would mean. Acknowledgment of extra-terrestrial civilizations having visited Earth would mean that many of the myths and legends of the past are in fact based on reality. It would suggests that humanity has been influenced for millennia by other-worldly beings, beings that in the past were considered gods. Disclosure would entirely topple the status quo and the balance of powers in society, and turn upside down what we know about the history of mankind.

The acknowledgement of the UFO phenomena is an event with the power to bring a global revolution in every sector of our lives today – technology and energy supply, communication and environmental concerns, society and religion.  Is this what governments and corporations are afraid of – a shift in balance and their loss of their positions of power and control? Or is it that the powers that be are afraid of re-writing our human history?

Amazing Bell/Diamond Shaped Object Photographed Over Illinois (Photographs)

Witness report: While driving around the country side(looking for unique winter scenes to photograph), north of Bloomington / Normal, IL., and just West / North West of Hudson, IL, on January 10, 2015 I stopped to capture a farm setting that had a large windmill towering above the property. It was bitter cold and windy, so I took a number of exposures to make sure that I had a good frame without camera shake. I was hand holding a Canon Mark IV with an 70-200mm f2.8 lens, at an ISO of 125 for fine detail.
  

When I later processed and finalized copies of the RAW images in DXO and Photoshop, I was removing dust particles from the sky(that are placed there by the cameras image sensor at the time of shooting), when I spotted a bell / diamond shaped object just left of the windmill tower, and under the left fan blade that I have marked with (3) small arrow heads. (See image above.)
 

When the image is enlarged to 200 to 500%, the object has pretty good resolution, and has the appearance of a stubby, vertically sectioned / stepped object unlike a smooth weather balloons exterior. At the location where the image was taken, I do not know of any weather stations in the surrounding area which is fairly remote, and I was shooting in a different direction from any large city. It was to cold and windy for a pleasure craft such as a hot air balloon to be flying.

After spotting the object in Photoshop, I looked at all of my other frames taken within seconds or minutes of the one attached, and no others before or after have the object within the frame area. I shoot everything in RAW format, and I retain unprocessed RAW files copies for future reference.

It is unfortunate that I did not see the object while shooting, or I could have captured it up to 800mm rather than 70mm. Mufon case 62638.

Verdwenen Marslander Beagle-2 teruggevonden - HLN.be

Ruimtevaart De in 2003 verdwenen Marslander Beagle-2 is "intact" teruggevonden op de rode planeet. Dat meldt BBC.

Op hogeresolutiebeelden van het oppervlak van de planeet Mars is de landingsplaats van de Beagle-2 waargenomen. De sonde ziet er op het eerste gezicht niet ernstig beschadigd uit.

De Beagle-2 was een Britse dochtersonde van de succesrijke Europese Marsorbiter Mars Express, die in 2003 met een Russische Sojoez-Fregat draagraket was gelanceerd. De Beagle-2 maakte zich op 19 december van dat jaar los van de moedersonde, om met Kerstmis op de Rode Planeet te landen. Een bij de uitzetting gemaakte foto was meteen het laatste contact met de lander.

Bij de landing verloor de sonde alle contact. Wetenschappers gingen ervan uit dat ze door een te harde landing helemaal vernietigd was.

Volgens wat er te zien is op de nieuwe beelden van de Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) van de NASA, klopt dat dus niet. De nieuwe theorie is dat de Beagle-2 zijn zonnepanelen niet volledig kon uitvouwen, en daardoor geen energie had om radiocontact te maken.

"Dat is nog pure speculatie, maar het is wel mogelijk, en dan zou het mislukken van de missie dus gewoon pech geweest zijn", legt professor Mark Sims van Leicester University uit aan BBC. "Een te zware klap, of een lekkende airbag die de lander blokkeerde."

Uit de gegevens van MRO blijkt dat de Beagle-2 niet meer dan 5 kilometer van zijn bedoelde landingsplaats neerkwam. Frustrerend nieuws voor het team dus, dat blijkbaar veel dichter bij een goede afloop van de missie kwam dan lang gedacht.

Marslander Beagle-2 is na elf jaar weer terecht

Ruim elf jaar lang wist geen mens waar Marslander Beagle-2 precies was, totdat onlangs het peperdure landertje opdook op een foto van de planeet. Dat meldde de Europese Ruimtevaartorganisatie ESA vandaag.

In 2003 moest de Beagle landen en op zoek gaan naar sporen van leven op Mars. Zo ver kwam het nooit. De Beagle reisde succesvol naar de planeet met de grotere sonde genaamd Mars Express. De lander ontkoppelde en moest zes dagen later - op eerste kerstdag - landen op de grond. Maar er werd nooit meer iets van de Beagle vernomen.

Sindsdien is er tevergeefs gezocht naar de Beagle, tot nu. De foto waarop de lander onmiskenbaar opdook, werd gemaakt door de Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, een ruimtevaartuig van NASA dat om de planeet draait. Bij ESA is er vooral enthousiasme dat de landing toch is gelukt en het vaartuigje zijn zonnepanelen deels wist te ontvouwen.

Ruimtevaart Na een reis van 9 jaar en meer dan 5 miljard kilometer is de NASA-ruimtesonde New Horizons begonnen aan de laatste etappe van zijn tocht naar Pluto. Het is nu slechts een kwestie van tijd voor wetenschappers ook de uiterste regionen van ons zonnestelsel kunnen exploreren. Op 14 juli zal de missie naar verwachting een eerste hoogtepunt bereiken, wanneer het ruimtetuig een eerste keer dichtbij de dwergplaneet passeert.

NASA-wetenschapper sterft onder verdachte omstandigheden ( Video )

Net zoals we in de financiële wereld ook in het afgelopen jaar veel vreemde sterfgevallen hebben gezien, zo is daar en zo mogelijk ook al veel langer sprake van in de wetenschappelijke wereld.

Daar sterven al jarenlang soms briljante wetenschappers op onverklaarbare en/of onnatuurlijke manieren.


Veel van die sterfgevallen hebben bijvoorbeeld betrekking op wetenschappers die zich bezighielden met onderzoek naar de planeet Nibiru oftewel planet X.

Vorige week vrijdag kwam er een NASA wetenschapper op een niet natuurlijke manier om het leven.

Alberto Behar was een 47-jarige onderzoeker die werkzaam was voor het NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Behar was nauw betrokken bij de Curiosity Rover van NASA, hetzelfde voertuig waar wij zoveel interessante foto’s van ontvangen met bewijs van leven op Mars.

Daarnaast was Behar helikopter vlieginstructeur, beroepsvlieger en gecertificeerd reddingszwemmer.

Alberto Behar kwam om het leven toen zijn eenmotorig vliegtuig vlak na vertrek van het Van Nuys vliegveld in Los Angeles zomaar “uit de lucht viel”.

Op de volgende foto zie je het wrak zoals dat er na de crash uitzag. 

Nu valt een vliegtuig normaal gesproken niet zomaar uit de lucht. Ook een eenmotorig toestel niet, zelfs niet nadat de motor uitvalt. Het wordt dan als het ware een zweefvliegtuig, is nog normaal bestuurbaar en kan door een ervaren piloot zonder al te veel problemen aan de grond worden gezet.

Als je goed kijkt naar de foto van het gecrashte toestel dan zie je iets merkwaardigs. Het lijkt alsof er een soort explosie is geweest waardoor het cockpit- en motorgedeelte volledig is weggevaagd.

Wanneer er inderdaad een explosie heeft plaatsgevonden dan is dat uiteraard heel verdacht en zou een aanwijzing kunnen zijn dat men Behar heeft willen vermoorden.

Hij zou daarmee niet de eerste wetenschapper zijn die onder verdachte omstandigheden sterft. Op de website van Steve Quayle kun je het volledige overzicht zien van wetenschappers die de laatste jaren onder verdachte omstandigheden zijn gestorven.

Hoort Behar thuis in die rij omdat hij misschien van plan was om de wereld te vertellen dat er wel degelijk leven is op Mars?

Extraterrestrial Life Could Be Found Using Motion-Detecting Nanosensors

While it brings so much excitement to find grey aliens with very advanced technology, any alien life out there that might be found will likely be very basic. But space probes, such as Curiosity and Philae, are using hit-and-miss chemical detection methods. They can’t tell if something is alive or not. A new nanosensor developed by French scientists could help.

Capable of accepting approximately 500 bacteria with a laser motion sensor, the cantilever will get minute vibrations that cause from the cells of living bacteria. The signals will stop after scientists kill the cells.

Mechanical rather than chemical, the team sees the technology also to become useful for a number of terrestrial studies, including drug trials. The cantilevers can be used to see if a drug is effective by coating them with cancer cells; the motion signals will slow or stop. Some researchers also believe that future space exploration missions could use the large arrays of the sensors.

Current probes look for chemicals that mark life as people know it on Earth, but alien life could also exist in other unidentified chemical forms. For instance, as long as life moves, nanosensors could locate it in Titan’s cold methane lakes. The researchers believe large arrays of their cantilever sensors could one day launch with probes. They do have plan to introduce the idea to ESA and NASA.

Another NASA Researcher Dies Under Suspicious Circumstance

A researcher at Arizona State University, who died in a small plane crash on Friday, January 9, 2015, has been identified as the pilot. The 47-year-old Alberto Behar of Scottsdale died in the accident on a Los Angeles street, officials said.

As one of the employees at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Behar was connected in the development and operation of NASA Curiosity rover. Curiosity uses advanced scientific instruments to collect data on Mars, including the possibility of the presence of water, which could prove that life once existed on the Red Planet. Also a researcher at ASU’s School of Earth and Space Exploration, Behar’s research involved a Russian instrument that can detect hydrogen beneath the rover, according to 2013 ASU press release.

In a Dailymail report, Behar worked for 23 years for NASA at the JPL in Pasadena and involved in two missions to Mars. He also invented a robot and received a patent in 2011 for it. His robot invention has the capability to operate in zero gravity.

Behar was a certified commercial airplane pilot, helicopter flight instructor, and scientific and rescue diver.

He died on the spot, just outside the Van Nuys Airport, according to the spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department.

The airplane went down on the busy street at around past 1 pm but did not hit any vehicles or structures before it crashed, and no other injuries reported.

Behar’s name is now one of the long list of astronomers and scientists who died suspiciously. One might ask, did he know something that should not be revealed?

NIGHT SCOPE PHOTOS OF UFO’S IN NEW MEXICO
 DECEMBER 8, 2014    ……..   SECRET MILITARY LOCATION IN NEW MEXICO 
 

We are posting photos that were sent to our Center by a current member of the U. S. military of a sighting that reportedly occurred at approximately 22:00 hrs. (MST) on Monday, December 08, 2014, above an undisclosed military site in New Mexico.  At least three of the photos were taken by one of the witnesses, using military grade night-vision devices.  Shape: Formation – Duration: 10 minutes – Unknown lights near our training site.

Three of us were on ECP guard duty; our shift was from 1600-2330. Around approximately 2100 we saw one light appear then another, then one more; in a line formation like this . . . they were white with a red tint.  The three of us were in a gun truck. One guy up on the gun, one passenger and I was in the driver’s seat. I tried getting a picture, but it just wouldn’t take very good. Unlike my two buddies’ used NVG’s (night vision goggles) just a regular picture; did no justice.  So I got out to get a better view for a picture and no more than 20 seconds they all vanished. They never moved; not once. Aircraft flew right through our line of sight and they were just there; east of our position.  While west of us a artillery company was training as well and shot up multiple flares, we used to compare like most military explanations!

“These were not flares”!  And the best part is south of our guard station is our CP where our CO & 1st sgt witnessed them as well; from a slightly different angle.  Word got out and my CO asked for me to come by asking me what I saw, so I told him and that’s when he said they saw the same lights.  Where we were, there is a lot of missile testing. I believe our presence and the artillery going off drew these UFOs’ attention.

Tulsa UFO witness says object sounded like a lawnmower

An Oklahoma witness at Tulsa reported watching a UFO with “three really large and bright green lights” that made a sound like a lawnmower and moved as close as the tree top level about 2 a.m. on January 14, 2015, according to testimony in Case 62631 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness looked out a patio door and saw the object moving toward her location.

“Noticed some really bright solid green lights in the sky coming from the north airport area towards me,” the witness stated. “They were so round and bright! Wondered what the heck was in the sky.”

The witness continued to watch.

“When it got close to my house I could see at least three really large and bright green lights in the front. It could have had more green lights. I did not count. It was close to tree top level. I could hear through my glass door it was really a loud noise it made. Sounded like a really loud lawnmower in the sky.”

The object moved closer.

“As it got close to house it turned to the east and I could see a bright flashing red light at the back of this thing. I live near the airport and see lights all the time on airplanes and helicopters. Never heard one that sounded like this or seen anything that had that many large green lights on the front of it. It continued on going to the southeast of me. Really strange! Those bright green lights are what caused me to watch it. Don’t think it was an airplane. Maybe some new kind of craft or helicopter?”

Tulsa is the second-largest city in Oklahoma, population 398,121.

Famous Writer Spots Cigar-Shaped UFO Speeding Over Glasgow

UFO sightings can be easily dismissed when it happens during New Year. But it seems that Kick Ass writer Mark Millar have just witnessed unusual visitations in the Glasgow horizon over New Year. Millar claims to have spotted a massive object speeding in the skies above Glasgow at around 1 AM on the very first day of 2015.

Millar, the writer of the book that inspired Hollywood film Wanted, believes it might have been an experimental aircraft, but says the cigar-shaped UFO moved many times at the speed of sound.

Cult comic writer Millar says that he knows he may sound mental, but he wants to know if anybody else saw the same huge bright object above Glasgow around the same time.

In The Scotsman report, pilots have previously reported unusual blue-and-yellow objects the same to what Millar has reported when they were on approach to Glasgow airport.

The pilots initially thought of a firework when they saw the UFO, but they started to wonder when it did not explode and instead did move from South to North of the city for a little over 60 seconds.

According to Millar in his Twitter post that the UFO looked like a wingless plane, moving sideways like a wide tube or a rolling pin. Millar was shocked to witness such thing.

Millar adds that the UFO was larger than a jumbo jet, and it did pass in their place before it shot off as orange flare again.

UFO making an impossible maneuver over Melbourne, Australia – January 2015

Here’s one new video of a very fast object in the sky above Melbourne in Australia. This was filmed recently (in January 2015).

Folks, the lens is set on infinity. I can’t accept this is a bug near the lens. Would be blurred and out of focus. My setup only enhances available light – rarely capture bugs…birds yes. However G force indicates otherwise.

Conspiracy theorists, UFO enthusiasts and amateur Internet sleuths, rejoice! Forty-six years after the conclusion of Project Blue Book, a secret U.S. Air Force investigation into reported UFO sightings, the project’s declassified files are now available online for free.

Project Blue Book launched in 1952, the third in a series of Air Force investigations aimed at scientifically studying UFOs and determining whether they were a threat to national security. Though the program was officially terminated in 1970, Project Blue Book files could previously be accessed in full only by visiting the National Archives in Washington, D.C. But now, thanks to a man named John Greenewald, who displays more than a million pages of government documents he’s obtained through Freedom of Information Act requests on his website The Black Vault, anyone can pour through all 130,000 Blue Book files without leaving home.

According to an interview with the UFO news website OpenMinds.tv, Greenewald started The Black Vault when he was 15 and, after nearly two decades of relentless FOIA-ing, now claims to host the largest online collection of declassified government data on everything for environmental issues to terrorism and mind control. But the most exciting part about Greenewald’s latest acquisition is that, according to the U.S. Air Force, 701, or 5.5 percent, of the 12,618 reported sightings included in the Blue Book files remain “unidentified”—a challenge UFO enthusiasts and researchers will surely be eager to accept.

“It is a project that lasted for over 20 years, and they investigated thousands of cases. Sure, many of them they claimed were all explanatory, but you still have a few gems that remain a mystery,” Greenewald told Open Minds. “But further, you can use this data to compare and contrast to what it is today and start drawing conclusions or, rather, maybe pose new questions that investigators haven’t thought of yet.”
