Het is een lief, aanhankelijk hondje, dat zich op een week snel aan ons heeft aangepast. Ze is heel vinnig en nieuwsgierig, een heel ander hondje dan Noleke.

Physicist Jeff Steinhauer spent the last seven years perfecting a method to replicate black holes in a quest to find whether Hawking radiation exists. His laboratory simulation of a black hole showed entangled particles breaking apart as one falls back into the black hole and the other dissipates into "space," consistent with Hawking'stheory.
LAB-GROWN ACOUSTIC BLACK HOLE
A few months ago, someone started working on building a black hole in a laboratory in a quest to find out whether Hawking radiation could really exist. It took physicist Jeff Steinhauer, of the Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa seven years to single-handedly perfect his method torecreate black holes. And now the results have been published in Nature Physics.

His lab-grown black hole implies that Hawking was right.
In 1974, Hawking theorized that, contrary to the belief that a black hole would continuously and infinitely suck in everything around it, energy could in fact, seep out of it in the form of radiation. This eventually became known as “Hawking radiation.” This causes a black hole’s eventual demise, as the energy seeps out and the black hole dissipates into nothing.
Recent findings did confirm that there are some things that could escape a black hole’s supposedly inescapable pull, such as light.
And this time, Steinhauer’s lab-grown black hole simulation showed what is the closest evidence we could find (as of now) of Hawking radiation, emanating from its event horizon.
4,600 TIMES TO BE SURE
Steinhauer cooled rubidium atoms to a few billionths of a degree above absolute zero to cause them to enter a quantum state of matter, behaving like clones of each other and clumping together to form a “super particle” known as Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC). This process of recreating black holes was proposed in the 1980s but nobody bothered to try building it until 2009.
Lasers are then used to force the atoms to move at supersonic speeds, causing sound waves to get trapped inside the quantum fluids.
Steinhauer ran his experiment a staggering 4,600 times, and as Hawking predicted, pairs ofphonons, or packets of sound energy, appeared spontaneously at the even horizon. One of them is then expelled away and the other falls back into the black hole. This separation of the pairs is consistent with Hawking radiation’s description of entangled particles annihilating each other unless they exist in either side of a black hole’s event horizon.

While this is quite a remarkable achievement in demonstrating the feasibility of Hawking radiation, other physicists say that it’s not enough to win Hawking a Nobel prize. Some doubt that what Steinhauer generated were in fact, credible BECs, and that several replications must be made in order for this to stand strong. Physicists also say that only a direct observation from a real black hole could confirm his theory—something that would most probably not happen within Hawking’s lifetime, or possibly any of our’s.

A deeper look into studies that were previously conducted by Hungarian physicists has recently uncovered evidence of a fifth fundamental force of nature. If confirmed, it could stand as an explanation for dark matter.
FORCES OF NATURE
To date, there are four conventionally known fundamental forces that hold the universe together—gravity, electromagnetism, and the strong and weak nuclear forces. But a closer look at previous studies conducted by Hungarian physicists, which hinted at a new force, has led a team of scientists to evidence that the anomaly in the data could actually be a fifth force of nature.
It should be noted that the groundbreaking claim is still a very long way from being confirmed, but the current data available is enough to push research into what this new force-carrying particle is (or may be).
“If true, it’s revolutionary,” Jonathan Feng said, who leads the research team from University of California. “If confirmed by further experiments, this discovery of a possible fifth force would completely change our understanding of the Universe, with consequences for the unification of forces and dark matter.”
SUBATOMIC PARTICLE
The anomalous data was first spotted when the Hungarian Academy of Science team fired high-energy beams of protons at lithium-7. The fall-out created a distinct energy signature of a super-light subatomic particle, which they concluded to be a type of boson—30 times heavier than an electron—that can’t be explained by the Standard Model.
“The experimentalists weren’t able to claim that it was a new force,” Feng said. “They simply saw an excess of events that indicated a new particle, but it was not clear to them whether it was a matter particle or a force-carrying particle.”

Based on this original data, the team from University of California dove into the work to try and verify the potential findings. And they assert that they did uncover theoretical evidence that suggests it may really be the boson for the fifth force of nature—which could explain dark matter or many other unexplained things in the universe.
The particle has been dubbed protophobic X boson, which interacts exclusively with electrons and neutrons within a very small range, thus making it extremely hard to detect. According to researchers, no other boson has exhibited the same characteristics.
Once the existence of a fifth force is verified, it could mean that we could one day produce a “super fundamental force” that allows interaction between the dark sector with its own matter. Unfortunately, we have yet to confirm whether or not this could actually be the fifth force of nature, but it’s a hypothesis that’s certainly worth following up on.

Very little is known about what happens within its perimeters.

During an interview on Coast to Coast some years ago, Steven Quayle talked about a giant that was shot and killed by the US military in Kandahar Afghanistan.
It is said that the soldiers noticed something in a cave and while inspecting the cave they encountered a giant 12-15 feet tall being having red hair, 6 fingers, 6 toes, and a double row of teeth.
What followed was that the soldiers opened gunfire at the moment the giant attacked the team. According to a witness of the horrible event, one soldier was killed by the giant and it took about 30 seconds to kill the being.
After the giant was dead it seems they have loaded it on a transport pallet and flew it to an unknown location in the US for further investigation.

A NASA-funded study has found that ADVANCED ancient civilizations that existed on Earth thousands of years ago were as susceptible to collapse as WE are today.

In the report, applied mathematician Safa Motesharri and his “Human and Nature Dynamical” model claims that “the process of rise-and-collapse is actually a recurrent cycle found throughout history.”
“The fall of the Roman Empire and the equally (if not more) advanced Han, Mauryan, and Gupta Empires, as well as so many advanced Mesopotamian Empires, are all testimony to the fact that advanced, sophisticated, complex, and creative civilizations can be both fragile and impermanent.”
In the study, we find that“Technological change can raise the efficiency of resource use, but it also tends to raise both per capita resource consumption and the scale of resource extraction, so that, absent policy effects, the increases in consumption often compensate for the increased efficiency of resource use.”

De commandanten van Russische onderzeeërs maken al sinds de Sovjettijd melding van onverklaarbare fenomenen onder het wateroppervlak. Het Kremlin bewaart de documenten over de ongeïdentificeerde objecten achter slot en grendel, meldt de Britse Daily Mirror.
Een aantal waarnemingen van de onverklaarbare objecten is echter uitgelekt. Experts Paul Stonehill en Philip Mantle schrijven er in hun nieuwe boek over. Zij menen dat de Russische overheid getuigen die in de openbaarheid treden doelbewust in diskrediet brengt en bewijs achterhoudt.
‘UFO’ in de Oostzee
De commandanten zeggen getuige te zijn geweest van onbekende levensvormen, mysterieuze duikboten en UFO’s die schepen in zee dumpen. De meest merkwaardige meldingen hebben betrekking op vreemde wezens die ook wel ‘De Zwemmers’ worden genoemd. Het gaat om drie meter lange mensachtige wezens die op 50 meter diepte in de ijskoude wateren rond Siberië zouden leven.
Enorme vuurbal
Stonehill en Mantle vertellen hoe de Russische generaal-majoor V. Demyanenko zijn bemanning waarschuwde voor de wezens na een aantal vreemde waarnemingen in 1982. Marineduikers probeerden één van de wezens te vangen, waarna ze door een mysterieuze kracht naar het oppervlak werden geduwd.
Vanaf de stoomboot Raduga werd in 1965 in de Rode Zee een enorme vuurbal gezien die opsteeg vanuit de oceaan. Het object bleef ongeveer 150 meter boven het wateroppervlak hangen voordat het weer in zee dook.
Moederschip
Admiraal V.A. Domislovsky, inlichtingenhoofd van de Russische Pacifische Vloot, zag een 900 meter lang object in de Grote Oceaan. Er kwamen kleinere objecten uit die onder water verdwenen om even later weer terug te keren naar het moederschip.
Schout-bij-nacht Yury Beketov claimt als commandant van een kernonderzeeër UFO’s te hebben gezien in de Bermudadriehoek. Op zijn radarscherm zag hij hoe de objecten zich met een snelheid van 400 kilometer per uur voortbewogen onder het wateroppervlak.

Bill Brooks ging in 1968 bij het Britse leger en claimt te zijn ontvoerd door aliens terwijl hij was gestationeerd op een nucleaire basis bij het Duitse Sennelager. Dat schrijft de Daily Star.
Pas op 44-jarige leeftijd kwamen de herinneringen naar boven borrelen. Na een optreden zag de man, die inmiddels muzikant was geworden, een UFO waarna de herinneringen terugkwamen.
Volgens Brooks werd de basis bij Sennelager gedeeld met een aantal Amerikaanse agenten van Area 51, de geheimzinnige basis in de Nevadawoestijn. Hij was er naar eigen zeggen getuige van hoe soldaten werden ontvoerd. Het leek alsof ze gehypnotiseerd waren, aldus de ex-militair.

Brooks werd door een man in het zwart gedwongen achter zijn collega’s aan te lopen. Wat er daarna is gebeurd weet hij niet meer. Naderhand kreeg hij te horen dat hij er niet over mocht praten en ook moest hij een geheimhoudingsverklaring ondertekenen.
Hij claimde ook te zijn onderworpen aan een aantal experimenten met mind control. Die zouden zijn uitgevoerd op de militaire basis Porton Down bij Salisbury. Hij heeft zijn ervaringen opgeschreven in een nieuw boek getiteld ’44: Based on an Ex-Soldier’s True Story of Life-Long Encounters Involving Alien Abduction’.
Brooks weet niet in hoeverre aliens en overheden samenwerken, maar denkt dat ingewijden ‘bang zijn voor wat ze kunnen doen’. Hij denkt dat de geheime diensten op de hoogte zijn van zijn ervaringen met aliens.
Geheimzinnigheid
Op de vraag of buitenaardse rassen een bedreiging vormen voor de mensheid, antwoordde hij: “Ik heb geen flauw idee, maar vanwaar al die geheimzinnigheid?”
In 1960 werd Brooks naar eigen zeggen als 10-jarig jongetje benaderd door vier zogenoemde Nordics; lange, blonde mensachtige wezens. Ze zeiden tegen hem dat ‘de aarde in gevaar was’ voordat ze hem meenamen aan boord van hun vaartuig.
Hij kreeg eerst te zien hoe hij zijn gedachten kon gebruiken om kleine bollen te verplaatsen. Daarna probeerden ze hem uit te leggen hoe hun aandrijfsysteem werkte. Later zou Brooks ook contact hebben gehad met de zogeheten Greys.

A Nevada witness at Las Vegas reported watching and videotaping two cigar-shaped UFOs moving overhead, according to testimony in Case 78282 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness had just left his home and turned onto the nearest street heading south at 7:45 p.m. on August 7, 2016, when the incident occurred.
“Two highly reflective objects caught my eye moving rather slowly at first,” the witness stated.“I immediately identified them as something I have never seen before flying in the sky.”
The witness has past experience around military bases.
“I have much experience growing up on military bases for the first 20+ years of my life, including living on SAC alert bases. I have much experience witnessing all types of military aircraft and am familiar with their flight capabilities. What I saw yesterday on August 7, 2016, was not military and not civilian.”

The witness then thought to shoot video.
“I immediately thought, take out cell phone. I tried to first capture a picture, which I did, but the object was hard to focus on. I immediately switched from static pictures to video using my Samsung Note 5. I was inside my Jeep Wrangler with family. All four of us saw the object, including my retired Army father.”
The witness and family members continued to watch the object.

Niet alleen wij krijgen steeds vaker meldingen van mensen die een planeet nabij de zon met het blote oog waarnemen; over ter wereld komen dit soort dingen nu steeds vaker voor.
Waar voorheen vaak nog speciale filters nodig waren om de planeet Nibiru en haar metgezellen te ontdekken, zo is dat nu vaak niet meer nodig.
Volgens de laatste nieuwsbrief van Nancy Lieder en de Zeta’s komt het mini zonnestelsel nu snel dichterbij en worden er steeds vaker waarnemingen gedaan met het blote oog.
De volgende afbeeldingen van een tweede zon zijn afkomstig uit die nieuwsbrief.
De eerste opname is genomen in Laval in Quebec, Canada, op 1 juni dit jaar tijdens zonsopkomst. Omdat op de foto de tweede zon gedeeltelijk is verborgen achter een lantaarnpaal weten we dat hier niet met een lensflare te maken hebben.
Iets dergelijks werd ook waargenomen boven Griekenland op 4 augustus jl. Op de foto zijn duidelijk twee verschillende lichtbronnen te zien tijdens zonsopkomst.
Wat er ook te zien is rondom de zon als heldere bollen zijn wat men bij de Zeta’s maankolken noemt. Ze worden vaak in verwarring gebracht met Nibiru zelf, maar het is een apart fenomeen. Nibiru heeft een hele serie manen en ruimtepuin op sleeptouw. Deze manen draaien niet om de planeet, maar komen er als een soort sliert achteraan zweven, waardoor een soort draaikolken ontstaan. Doordat zonlicht door de lange buis schijnt die wordt gevormd door de kolk, wordt het licht geïntensiveerd en komt aan het eind van die tunnel tevoorschijn als bij een zaklantaarn. Deze maankolken en de lichtbollen die ze vormen zijn veel feller dan het licht van Nibiru zelf.
Om dit soort dingen goed te zien, wordt meestal wel een filter gebruikt, zoals te zien is in de volgende opnames die met een zogenaamd Mylar filter zijn genomen in april dit jaar.
Volgens Nancy Lieder is de planeet Nibiru sinds 2003 in ons zonnestelsel en zijn sinds die tijd ook opnames gemaakt van de planeet en omringende manen. Waarnemingen met het blote oog echter, is iets dat eigenlijk nog maar sinds vrij kort plaatsvindt.

Een fotograaf die bij de Zeta’s vaak wordt gepubliceerd, heet Alberto en hij fotografeert dit mini zonnestelsel al jaren met speciale filters.
Op de onderstaande opname zie je Niburu op de rechterafbeelding op de zogenaamde "vijf uur" positie.
Ook wij krijgen regelmatig foto’s opgestuurd van lezers en vaak zitten daar helaas ook lensflares tussen. Blijft ze in ieder geval opsturen ook al weet je het niet zeker. We zijn altijd geïnteresseerd in iedere waarneming die is gedaan met het blote oog.
Want, als de Zeta’s gelijk hebben, zullen er ook binnenkort blote oogwaarnemingen in onze streken moeten plaatsvinden.

Also known as the The strange fluctuations in this star’s light are what caused Yale astronomer Tabetha (Tabby) Boyajian, who first discovered the star to describe it as… “The most mysterious star in the universe. We’d never seen anything like this star. It was really weird. Astronomer Bradley E. Schaefer from Louisiana State University's findings had suggested a long-term dimming of the Tabby star. A brightness decrease by 20 percent over the last century. That is highly difficult to explain by natural means. But it is consistent with the idea that aliens were gradually converting the material in the star’s planetary system into giant megastructures. Schaefer’s study has now been accepted for publication in the peer-reviewed Astrophysical Journal. Schaefer said that independent measures by astronomers show that Tabby’s star has indeed faded. The dips found by Kepler are real. Something seems to be transiting in front of this star, and we still have no idea what it is!”
Schaefer took a hard look at this mysterious star not only using the Kepler telescope data, but using a collection of roughly 500,000 sky photographs in the archives of Harvard College Observatory. Two independent sources now show Tabby Star is displaying unique and inexplicable photometric variations. These findings have scientists scratching their headOf course none have wanted to say that it is solid evidence of intelligent aliens. That's how you lose research grants. Jason Wright, an astronomer from Penn State University has stated "Aliens should always be the very last hypothesis you consider. But this looked like something you would expect an alien civilization to build, We need to consider that perhaps we’ve caught an advanced alien civilization in the process of building something massive near KIC8462852.”
Could this be some sort of Dyson Sphere type mega-structure built by a highly advanced civilization? How likely is it for 648,000 giant-comets to exist around one star? And to have their orbits orchestrated so as to all pass in front of the star within the last century? This century-long dimming is a strong argument against the comet hypothesis to explain the Kepler dips. It has been going on for as long as we’ve had telescopes to point at the sky. The comets would have to be the size of a separate solarm system to explain it. Dr. Schaefer says that is “completely implausible.” As observed by the Kepler spacecraft, everyone agrees that Tabby Star's light can appear strongly and weirdly irregular. Anywhere from a fraction-of- a-percent to around 20 percent of the star’s light sometimes is apparently blocked. That’s why astronomers began talking about alien megastructures, the Dyson spheres. These vast structures are the best explanation for what might be periodically blocking the star’s light.
The SETI Institute is seriously researching the possibility that this stellar system might be home to an advanced civilization!!! To investigate this idea, scientists have been using the Allen Telescope Array to search for non-naturalm radio signals from the direction of the mystery star. This effort is looking for both narrow-band signals as well as somewhat broader transmissions that might be produced, for example, by powerful spacecraft. The world’s top astronomers of the SETI program have refused to rule out the possibility of an extraterrestrial mega structure orbiting the Tabby star. They have stated that they were unable to mdisprove the theory that a massive artificial structure is causing the mysterious light patterns spotted around the distant star. I caught this UFO sitting over the mouth of the volcano last night. Its shape is perfect and its size is 1.5-2 miles across. UFOs are often seen near this particular volcano in Mexico. A UFO was captured on video hovering over Brownsville, Texas, causing supposition that it could be from a nearby underwater base as it was reportedly floating over water, just off the Gulf of Mexico. The witness of the odd sighting reported it to the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON). He described the mysterious aerial thing as bright, oval shape moving slowly from left to right. The sighting took place when the witness was on his way back from a fishing trip.
The witness also noted in his report that a small object was trailing the big oval object, but that particular scene wasn’t captured on the video. The quality of the video may be poor and shaky, but it seems that’s all needed to start the discussion among UFO enthusiasts as to what the object might be and where it possibly originated.
Many claims have surfaced about the underwater UFO base off the coast of Cuba at Guantanamo Bay, near to where the strange object was spotted and filmed. A retired Marine reported early in March about his various UFO encounters just off the Cuban coast when he was stationed at the U.S. base in Cuba from 1968 to 1969. He recalled that those UFOs would surface out of the water or vanish into the waves of the Caribbean.

Here’s one new daytime photo of a disc-shaped object hovering in the sky above Knoxville in Tennessee. This was taken on 16th June 2016.
Witness report:
High altitude White roundish non moving object. On June 16, 2016 I was taking a break from mowing and sat in a chair in my driveway (which faces approx. 250 degrees SW) when I observer a white round object at about 240 degrees SW and about 70-75 degrees elevation ( I have a compass ap on my cell phone)What caught my attention was that it was not moving at all. At first I thought it was a weather ballon but I did not see any kind of trailing material. There were high thin clouds ( see photos ) out that day but the object was plainly visible I watch for about 15 minutes and it still did not appear to move. I keep a pair of binoculars in my PU truck so I got them and tried to seethe object more clearly. I was not able to steady these binoculars so I went into the house and got another pair (I like to bird watch so I have lots of binoculars) This did not work to my satisfaction (again not able to hold steady enough to improve my visibility) I then got out my Sony a77 digital camera that is fitted with a Sony 2.8/16-50 ssm lens. I also used a Sony 4.5-5.6/75-300 telephoto lens. I took a few pictures with the 2.8 lens and then installed the telephoto lens and a Quantaray 2X teleconverter. I then took more photos but was having difficulty focusing the lens I then tried to focus on trees and other objects closer by to see if I could the maximum distance focus function to work I took 4 or five pictures and did not realize that when I used the zoom in feature on the camera I had a reasonably clear picture of the object hat appeared to be the shape of a blood cell in white and it appeared to have numerous windows around the periphery of the disc. I attempted to repeat the focus adjustment. At this point Around 10:30 am the clouds increased (although not significantly)and I was no longer able to see the object. I thought about getting my tripod to help steady the camera, but after waiting another 15 minutes or so the object was no longer visible even though the clouds had dissipated. So that is what happened. I watch the local news and scanned the newspaper for a couple of days afterwards but saw no mention of anyone seeing this object.

The SETI project scientists are known for tracking possible extraterrestrial signals, but now they are also considering sending messages from Earth telling of our position. A researcher from the University of Cádiz (Spain) questions this idea in view of the results from a survey taken by students, revealing the general level of ignorance about the cosmos and the influence of religion when tackling these matters.
The Search for ExtraTerrestrial Intelligence (SETI) project is an initiative that began in the 70s with funding from NASA, but that has evolved towards the collaboration of millions of Internet users for the processing of data from the Arecibo Observatory (Puerto Rico), where space tracking is carried out.
Now the members of this controversial project are trying to go further and not only search for extraterrestrial signs, but also actively send messages from Earth (Active SETI) to detect possible extraterrestrial civilisations. Astrophysicists, such as Stephen Hawking, have already warned of the risk that this implies for humanity, since it could favour the arrival of beings with more advanced technology and dubious intentions.
The ethical and sociological implications of this proposal have been analysed by the neuro-psychologist Gabriel G. de la Torre, professor at the University of Cádiz and participant in previous projects such as Mars 500 or space psychology topical team project financed by the European Space Agency, who wonders: “Can such a decision be taken on behalf of the whole planet? What would happen if it was successful and ‘someone’ received our signal? Are we prepared for this type of contact?”
To answer these questions, the professor sent a questionnaire to 116 American, Italian and Spanish university students. The survey assessed their knowledge of astronomy, their level of perception of the physical environment, their opinion on the place that things occupy in the cosmos, as well as religious questions – for example, “do you believe that God created the universe?” – or on the likelihood of contact with extraterrestrials.
The results, published in the journal ‘Acta Astronautica’, indicate that, as a species, humanity is still not ready for trying to actively contact a supposed extraterrestrial civilisation, since people lack knowledge and preparation. For this reason, SETI researchers are recommended in this study to look for alternative strategies.
“This pilot study demonstrates that the knowledge of the general public of a certain education level about the cosmos and our place within it is still poor. Therefore, a cosmic awareness must be further promoted – where our mind is increasingly conscious of the global reality that surrounds us – using the best tool available to us: education,” De la Torre emphasised. ”In this respect, we need a new Galileo to lead this journey”.
It was deduced from the questionnaires, which will soon be available to everyone on line, that university students and the rest of society lack awareness on many astronomical aspects, despite the enormous progress of science and technology. It also revealed that the majority of people consider these subjects according to their religious belief and that they would rely on politicians in the event of a huge global-scale crisis having to be resolved.
“Regarding our relation with a possible intelligent extraterrestrial life, we should not rely on moral reference points of thought, since they are heavily influenced by religion. Why should some more intelligent beings be ‘good’?,” added the researcher, who believes that this matter should not be monopolized by a handful of scientists: “In fact, it is a global matter with a strong ethical component in which we must all participate”.

It’s a cosmic game of hide-and-seek. A team of astronomers say that the next search for advanced extraterrestrial civilisations should look for stars – or even galaxies – that have vanished without a trace, as anything so unexplainable could only be due to life far more intelligent than us.
Beatriz Villarroel at Uppsala University in Sweden says this crazy idea has been gnawing at her since her first year of graduate studies. Now she and two undergraduates have finally taken the plunge. They scoured multiple surveys of the night’s sky by eye in order to see if any of nearly 300,000 light sources disappeared from one survey to the next.
So far the results are mixed. The team found one interesting artefact that looks like it might have vanished, but they can’t be sure. “It was a depressing case in the sense that we neither could reject it and neither could we say that it was a real candidate,” says Villarroel. Although the team checked for so-called false positives, throwing out hundreds of similar disappearing objects, this one withstood all tests – but only just.
Even if the disappearance is real, there could still be an astrophysical explanation. Quasars – the bright centres of galaxies powered by supermassive black holes – can shut down in less than a decade and drop drastically in brightness. Stars, too, can be highly variable.

That’s why Villarroel and her colleagues plan to search for this missing object (and any others found in the future), on the largest telescopes. If it is still not visible, then they will be able to rule out most astrophysical phenomena and say with more likelihood that it has vanished. Only then will they begin speculating about extraterrestrial causes
“I think it’s a very reasonable thing to do,” says Jay Olson at Boise State University, Idaho. “It’s a deliberate search for something very unusual, which could be hiding in existing data across time. At this stage of the game, it’s a very limited search, but it illustrates well what can be accomplished.”
Unlike Tabby’s Star, a baffling star that dips in brightness and made headlines last year when astronomers suggested that “alien megastructures” could be the culprit, these objects would have no physical culprit behind their sudden disappearance – it’s just not possible for something to suddenly vanish from the universe without a trace. Instead, Villarroel and her colleagues invoke Arthur C. Clarke’s third law: “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.”
So while other teams search for possible signatures of astro-engineering like the one suspected around Tabby’s star, Villarroel and her colleagues are searching for things that seem impossible. If they confirm a star that has vanished without an accompanying supernova explosion or a galaxy that has disappeared from view, there’s simply no physical explanation – save for aliens.

Many scientists believe that alien civilisations exist. For them, the question is now whether we will encounter them in the near future or a very long time from now, rather than if at all. So let’s imagine that we suddenly stand face-to-face with members of an alien species. What would we do first? Surely communicating that we come in peace would be a priority. But would we ever be able to understand each other?
The one thing we can be confident about exchanging with aliens is scientific information. If the laws of the universe are the same everywhere, then different descriptions of these laws should, in principle, be equivalent. This is the rationale behind initiatives like The Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) and Messaging Extraterrestrial Intelligence (METI).
Matters are more complicated when it comes to language, which is the single most important factor in human cooperation. It is by communicating our intentions that we are able to work together in surprisingly large groups. For this reason, it is plausible that any technologically versatile alien civilisation would have something like language. Can we expect to learn such an alien language?
The first hurdle would be its medium. Humans communicate in a 85-255Hz frequency range of sound and in the 430-770 THz frequency range of light. This is unlikely to be true of aliens, who will have evolved differently. Nevertheless, the problem is largely a technical one. Speeded up whale songs that are otherwise inaudible to humans, for instance, show that it is relatively easy to map “alien” stimuli into forms that humans can perceive. The more difficult question is whether we would ever be able to learn the internal structure of an alien language. Existing perspectives in the psychology of language give two very different answers.
The generativist approach, which holds that the structure of language is hardwired into the brain, suggests this wouldn’t be possible. It argues that humans come with an inbuilt universal grammar that has a specific number of settings – each corresponding to the acceptable order in which words and parts of words can be arranged in a given language system. The language we hear in early life activates one of these settings, which then allows us to distinguish between valid and invalid ways of combining words.
The key point is that the number of grammars is very limited. Though the rules of human languages can and do vary, proponents of the generativist model argue they can only do so within strict parameters. For example, the “head directionality” parameter determines whether the verbs in a language precede or follow their complements, with English being head-initial (“Bob gave a cake to Alice”) and Japanese being head-final (“Bob to Alice a cake gave”).
For generativists, it is extremely unlikely that an alien species would happen to have the same parameters as human beings. In the words of Noam Chomsky, the leading proponent of this view: If a Martian landed from outer space and spoke a language that violated universal grammar, we simply would not be able to learn that language the way that we learn a human language like English or Swahili … We’re designed by nature for English, Chinese, and every other possible human language. But we’re not designed to learn perfectly usable languages that violate universal grammar.
The cognitive view, on the other hand, sees semantics (structures of meaning) as being more important than syntax (structures of grammar). According to this view, sentences like “quadruplicity drinks procrastination” are syntactically well-formed but semantically meaningless. For this reason, proponents of the cognitive view argue that grammar alone is not enough to understand language. Instead, it needs to be partnered with knowledge of the concepts that structure how language users think.
We can also look at our own world to see how organisms can have striking similarities, even if they have developed in very different ways and in contrasting environments. This is known as “convergent evolution”. In physical terms, for example, wings and eyes have independently emerged among animals through evolution at several different times over, and birds in ecologically isolated New Zealand have evolved behaviours typically seen in mammals elsewhere. The cognitive view offers hope that human and alien languages might be mutually intelligible.
Some argue that even the most advanced human concepts are built up from basic building blocks that are shared across species, such as notions of past and future; similarity and difference; and agent and object. If an alien species manipulates objects, interacts with its peers and combines concepts, the cognitive approach therefore predicts there might be enough mental architecture in common to make its language accessible to humans. It is implausible, for instance, that an alien species that reproduced biologically would lack concepts for distinguishing between genetically related and unrelated groups.
But is the cognitive view correct? Research on neural networks shows that languages could be learned without specialised structures in the brain. This is important because it means there may be no need to postulate an innate universal grammar to explain language acquisition. Also, it seems there may be human languages that don’t fit in the universal grammar framework. Though these results are far from conclusive (for instance, they can’t explain why humans alone seem to have language), the evidence leans towards the cognitive account.
So, it might be reasonable to assume that humans could learn alien languages. Clearly, there would probably always be aspects of an alien language (like our poetry) that are inaccessible. Equally, some species may occupy such a different mental universe that it is only broadly equivalent to that of humans. Nevertheless, I think we can be cautiously optimistic that universal structures in the physical, biological and social worlds would be enough to anchor human and alien languages in a common semantic framework.

De piramide is meer dan 3000 jaar geleden jaar geleden gebouwd in Saryarka voor een leider van een machtige lokale stam, aldus archeoloog Viktor Novozhenov. Alles wat de onderzoekers gaan aantreffen wordt overgebracht naar het archeologiemuseum van de Staatsuniversiteit van Karaganda.

De Britse egyptoloog Toby Wilkinson beargumenteerde in The Guardian dat piramides altijd gericht zijn naar de Poolster en op basis van hun vorm kunnen worden gezien als lanceerplatform voor de reis van de farao naar het hiernamaals tussen de sterren. Hij voegde toe dat de oude Egyptenaren hun inspiratie voor de piramides mogelijk uit de ruimte haalden.

‘Platform-like’ UFO spotted hovering near Arkansas nuclear plant
An Arkansas witness at Dover reported watching a “bright, flashy, platform-like object” hovering near the nuclear plant in Russellvillle, according to testimony in Case 61651 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The object was noticed beginning about 1 a.m. on November 8, 2014, which was about 20 miles from the witnesses’ home.
“It emitted multi-colored lights as it stay stationary in the sky,” the witness stated. “For the next following two hours I would check on it periodically.”
The object moved at about 3 a.m.
The witness saw the object hovering near the nuclear power plant near Russellville, AR.

The witness has tracked other objects in the area and has experience flying aircraft.

Elle n’a pas de nom, et sa découverte n’a même pas encore été officialisée, mais l’exoplanète apparue récemment dans le viseur des astrophysiciens agite déjà la communauté scientifique. Cette « seconde Terre », comme elle est déjà surnommée, à cause de ses caractéristiques voisines de notre planète, se trouve en effet tout près de nous, à « seulement » 4,24 années-lumière, soit la bagatelle de 40 milliards de kilomètres.
« Jamais les scientifiques n’avaient découvert une "seconde Terre" si proche », s’enthousiasme le magazine allemand Der Spiegel, selon lequel les astrophysiciens de l’Observatoire européen austral (ESO) doivent annoncer fin août la trouvaille. Pour mettre cette proximité en perspective, rappelons que Kepler 452b, dont la découverte a été annoncée l’été dernier, et considérée jusque-là comme l’exoplanète « la plus semblable à la Terre », se trouve à environ 1.400 années-lumière de chez nous.

La nouvelle planète, qui orbite autour de Proxima du Centaure, l’étoile la plus proche du système solaire, se trouverait, selon l’hebdomadaire, dans la zone « d’habitabilité » où de l’eau à l’état liquide peut exister, ce qui constitue une condition importante à l’existence de la vie.
Mais ses découvreurs se montrent pour l’instant extrêmement peu diserts. Un porte-parole de l’ESO, Richard Hook, a indiqué avoir pris connaissance de l’article, mais s’est refusé à confirmer ou démentir. « Nous ne faisons pas de commentaires », a-t-il simplement déclaré à l’Agence France Presse. « Trouver ce corps spatial était un travail très difficile, a confié un astrophysicien à Der Spiegel, sous couvert d’anonymat. Nous étions aux limites de ce qui est techniquement possible de mesurer. »

Not only does Titan have deep seas, but it now appears to have a network of deep canyons that are filled with liquid hydrocarbons. Scientists published a paper analyzing data gathered by NASA's spacecraft Cassini.
WHAT CHANNEL?
NASA’s Cassini spacecraft has ventured to Saturn’s moon, Titan, and discovered canyons with steep sides filled with liquid hydrocarbons. This discovery is the first evidence of the existence of liquid-filled channels as well as deep canyons reaching up to hundreds of meters below the surface of the moon.
A paper published in the journal Geophysical Research Letters shows the analysis of the data gathered in May 2013 when the spacecraft passed close to Titan. The flyby made in 2013 focused on getting images of the channels that originated in the northern sea, Ligeia Mare.
The observations from Cassini’s radar instrument reveals that the network of channels called Vid Flumina are narrow canyons that are roughly a kilometer (less than half a mile) wide with slopes at least 40 degrees steep and around 240 to 570 meters (790 to 1870 feet) deep.

NETWORK OF HYDROCARBONS
The images from Cassini show the channels as dark areas, similar to Titan’s methane-filled seas. This made the scientists believe that the channels are also filled with liquid hydrocarbons. They have no way to prove this until recently.
In previous missions Cassini was used as an imager. This time around, it was used as an altimeter to measure the height of the features of Titan. The radar detected a glint in the channels, indicating a really smooth surface just like in the Titan seas. Radar echoes were also used to measure the channels’ depth.
In the future, scientists will focus on the other channels in the Saturnian moon, exhausting other methods for a more comprehensive understanding of how the Titan’s landscape came to be.
