Het is een lief, aanhankelijk hondje, dat zich op een week snel aan ons heeft aangepast. Ze is heel vinnig en nieuwsgierig, een heel ander hondje dan Noleke.

The Torquay and Herald Express reported how after a flood of reported sightings of extraterrestrial activity in skies over West Devon on Tuesday night (20 September), an officer from the force took to Twitter to update residents on the strange lights and flashes.
But, in what will come as a disappointment to conspiracy theorists, the officer named as Resource Deployment Officer Garry shot down the UFO theory and confirmed the lights were caused by a source closer to home and planet Earth.
"I can confirm there are no #UFOs over #Okehampton. @BritishArmy have an exercise ongoing with flares.. Countless 999 calls now... #WordsFail" he tweeted.
Dartmoor is used mainly for training exercises by Royal Marines and other forces based in the south-west including the territorial and reserve forces.

“This type of sprite is often called ‘jellyfish’ or ‘A-bomb,’ and ranks as the largest type of sprite in both horizontal and vertical dimensions,” he says. “It consists of a bright halo approximately 85 km above Earth’s surface surrounding sprite elements with long tendrils reaching down as low as 30 km above ground level.”
“This kind of sprite tends to be triggered by a very impulsive positive cloud-to-ground flash,” van der Velde said to spaceweather.
The curious thing is, Lucena did not observe an instigating lightning bolt. Instead, just before the sprite appeared, he recorded a bright point-like flash of light. “Was it a cosmic ray hitting the camera?” wonders Lucena. Another possibility: The point-like flash could have been a cloud-to-ground strike mostly eclipsed by intervening clouds.
If Lucena did photograph something new triggering a sprite, perhaps it shouldn’t come as a big surprise. The field is relatively new. Although sprites have been seen for at least a century, most scientists did not believe they existed until after 1989 when sprites were photographed by cameras onboard the space shuttle. There is still much to learn.
500 meter of ongeveer de lengte van vijf voetbalvelden achter elkaar: dat is de doorsnede van een nieuwe telescoop die China deze week klaar wil hebben en waarmee het land verder en sneller de ruimte in zal kunnen kijken dan ooit. Eén van de doelen: buitenaards leven vinden.
Wetenschappers zijn door het dolle heen over de nieuwe telescoop, die verscholen zit in een vallei in het zuidwesten van China en de naam Aperture Spherical Telescope of FAST kreeg. Zondag zou hij operatief moeten zijn en zijn eerste beelden moeten maken van het heelal.
En die zullen indrukwekkend zijn, want de telescoop kan tot twee keer zo veel zien als de Arecibo-telescoop in Puerto Rico, die de afgelopen 53 jaar de grootste enkelvoudige schotel ter wereld was. Tien jaar lang werd gezocht naar de beste locatie om hem op te stellen. Die werd gevonden in een holle berg, beschermd voor mogelijke radiostoringen. Vijf jaar en 165 miljoen euro later is het laatste van de 4.450 driehoekige panelen gelegd waaruit de gigantische schijf is opgebouwd.
Sterrenstelsel De panelen kunnen elk apart bewegen, zodat de telescoop heel precies op bepaalde punten op de hemel te richten is. Onderzoekers hopen er onder andere meer mee te weten te komen over het ontstaan van het universum. Dat zal gebeuren door het in kaart brengen van de verspreiding van waterstof, het meest voorkomende element in ons sterrenstelsel en daarbuiten.

Maar waar de meeste mensen naar uitkijken is wat de telescoop kan betekenen voor de zoektocht naar buitenaards leven. En daar is de recente ontdekking van drie planeten waar de omstandigheden voor het ontstaan van leven goed zijn, niet vreemd aan. FAST zou nóg meer exoplaneten in kaart kunnen brengen dan tot nu toe mogelijk was. "De kans om buitenaardse beschavingen te vinden zal vijf tot tien keer hoger liggen dan met de huidige apparatuur", aldus Peng Bo, directeur van het NAO Radio Astronomy Technology Laboratory. "FAST kan verder kijken en donkerder planeten zien."
Beperkingen
Toch heeft de nieuwe telescoop ook beperkingen. Zo kan hij het traject van kometen en asteroïden niet voorspellen. "FAST zal ons dus niet kunnen waarschuwen als er asteroïden op de aarde afkomen die mogelijk onze beschaving kunnen vernietigen", aldus Douglas Vakoch, de directeur van METI International, een organisatie die zich toelegt op het opsporen van buitenaardse intelligentie.

In januari maakten astronomen van het California Institute of Technology bekend dat ze een reusachtige planeet aan de rand van ons zonnestelsel hadden ontdekt. Niet alleen wetenschappers volgen de ontwikkelingen op de voet. Ook een groep mensen die speuren naar de verloren planeet Nibiru mengt zich in de discussie.
“Het was erg spannend om te zien dat wetenschappers een andere planeet in ons zonnestelsel hadden gevonden,” zei Janet Sitchin, wiens oom Zecharia Sitchin het bestaan van Nibiru voorstelde.
“Het is spannend omdat sceptici dachten dat zo’n grote planeet niet onopgemerkt zou kunnen blijven,” vertelde ze aan FoxNews.com. “Dit zijn vooral mensen die zelf geen astronoom zijn en niet weten hoe groot de ruimte is.”
Anunnaki
Zecharia Sitchin, die in 2010 op 90-jarige leeftijd overleed, stelde in zijn boek ‘De 12de planeet’ uit 1976 dat de Soemerische en Babylonische mythologie wees op het bestaan van zo’n planeet en dat de inwoners ervan, de Anunnaki, de aarde rond 600 voor Christus hebben bezocht.
Sitchin claimde dat de planeet ver voorbij Neptunus stond en iedere 3600 jaar in de buurt van de aarde kwam, zodat de Anunnaki de mensen konden bezoeken.
De Anunnaki wonnen goud in de Perzische Golf en het zuidelijke deel van Afrika, zei Janet Sitchin tijdens een uitzending van de Slooh Community Observatory die aan Nibiru was gewijd. “Ze vonden het werk te zwaar en creëerden de mens. Dit schreven de oude Soemeriërs.”
Aardig idee
Tot frustratie van de NASA en prominente astronomen raken steeds meer mensen door het nieuws over Planeet X geïnteresseerd in Nibiru. “We hebben een aardig idee van wat zich in ons zonnestelsel bevindt,” zei Jim Green van de NASA. “Er bestaat niet iets zoals Nibiru.”
Green ontkende dat NASA de waarheid over Nibiru verborgen houdt. “Dat heeft vast te maken met het feit dat mensen niet in de wetenschap geloven,” zei hij. “Er zijn ook mensen die niet geloven dat we op de maan zijn geland, ook al hebben we foto’s gemaakt van de dingen die we hebben achtergelaten.”
Andere planeet
Harold Levinson van het Southwest Research Institute acht het onmogelijk dat het om Nibiru zou kunnen gaan. “Het is wetenschappelijk gezien onmogelijk dat de Soemeriërs iets wisten over dit object, of dat daar iets zou kunnen leven,” schreef hij in een e-mail.
De nieuwe planeet, die 10 keer zwaarder is dan de aarde, staan 20 keer verder van de zon dan Neptunus en doet tussen de 10.000 en 20.000 jaar over een rondje om de zon. “Tenzij deze berekeningen niet kloppen, strookt dit niet met wat de Soemeriërs schreven over Nibiru,” zei Janet Sitchin.
Ze blijft ervan overtuigd dat Nibiru bestaat. “Het kan zijn dat die berekeningen niet 100 procent accuraat zijn,” vertelde ze aan Slooh. “Ik hoop dat we gaan ontdekken dat het Nibiru is of misschien is er nog een andere planeet die Nibiru blijkt te zijn en is dit een andere.”

Er wordt momenteel hard gewerkt aan de documentaire ‘Unacknowledged: An Exposé of the Greatest Secret in Human History’. De film, die in 2017 moet uitkomen, zal ‘het beste bewijs voor buitenaards contact ooit’ presenteren. Dat contact vindt naar verluidt al tientallen jaren plaats.
De makers van de productie hebben meer dan 100 uur topgeheim materiaal, documenten, UFO-beelden en getuigenissen van klokkenluiders uit onder meer de inlichtingenwereld bestudeerd.
UFO-geheimen
Tijdens de film wordt gekeken waar Amerika’s UFO-geheimen worden bewaard en hoe men probeert dit soort dingen onder de pet te houden. Hierover zal voormalig geheim agent van de Amerikaanse luchtmacht Richard Doty een boekje opendoen.
Regisseur Michael Mazzola richt zich in zijn film op dr. Steven Greer, arts en oprichter van de werelwijde Disclosure Movement. Greer heeft contact gehad met vele hooggeplaatste overheidsfunctionarissen, waaronder de CIA-directeur, admiraals en generaals in het Pentagon en congresleden, aldus Mazzola.
Niet alleen
Greer spreekt van een historische documentaire die duidelijk maakt dat we niet alleen zijn in het universum. “Het is tijd dat de waarheid naar buiten komt,” zei hij.
“Dr. Greer heeft al vaak schokkende onthullingen over UFO’s, technologie en overheidsgeheimen gedaan,” voegde Paul Davidson van filmdistributeur The Orchard toe. “We zijn verheugd met hem samen te werken.”

De NASA geeft maandag een persconferentie over nieuwe bevindingen die zijn voortgekomen uit beelden van Jupitermaan Europa, gemaakt door ruimtetelescoop Hubble.
De ruimtevaartorganisatie spreekt van ‘bewijs voor verrassende activiteit die mogelijk verband houdt met de aanwezigheid van een oceaan onder het oppervlak van Europa’.
Buitenaards leven
Het oppervlak van de maan bestaat uit een dikke laag ijs, waaronder al langer een vloeibare oceaan wordt vermoed. Nu zou de NASA daar bewijzen van hebben. Er wordt dan meteen ook gedacht aan de mogelijkheid van buitenaards leven.
Onderzoekers van NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory concludeerden eerder dit jaar al in een artikel inGeophysical Research Letters dat de ondergrondse oceaan van Europa de juiste energiebalans heeft om het bestaan van leven mogelijk te maken.
Vergelijkbaar
De energiebalans van de oceaan is volgens geologen vergelijkbaar met die in de oceanen op aarde, en ook zonder warmteproductie door vulkanische activiteit is er genoeg energie beschikbaar om biologische processen gaande te houden.
De resultaten zullen worden gepresenteerd tijdens een zogeheten teleconferentie. Onder andere astronomen en wetenschappers Paul Hertz, William Sparks, Britney Schmidt en Jennifer Wiseman zullen aan het woord komen.

Of je het nu de opname/rapture noemt of het weghalen van mensen door buitenaardsen, er zijn veel aanwijzingen dat een deel van de mensheid van deze planeet zal verdwijnen.
We hebben onlangs kunnen zien hoe de datum van de eindtijd steeds dichterbij komt en is het dan vreemd dat er een enorme vloot ruimteschepen wordt gesignaleerd?
We zijn de laatste weken behoorlijk actief geweest met berichten over de eindtijd en dan in het bijzonder de begindatum daarvan, gebaseerd op een bepaalde vrij unieke stand van planeten aan de hemel.
Iets wat onlosmakelijk verbonden is met de eindtijd is iets dat christenen “de opname” noemen en wat door anderen vaak in verband wordt gebracht met het redden van een deel van de mensheid door middel van enorme ruimteschepen, toebehorend aan buitenaardsen.
Ter achtergrond, eerst een deel uit een eerder artikel, waaruit blijkt dat er mensen zijn die dromen dat er medemensen worden opgehaald door ruimteschepen. Die misschien nu al onderweg zijn naar de aarde, maar daarover zo meteen meer.
Zoals wij regelmatig berichten, gaat de aarde zodanig tekeer dat je haast niet anders kunt stellen dan dat wij ons wat dat betreft in een eindtijd bevinden.
Dat is ook precies één van de tekenen van de eindtijd zoals die in de bijbel wordt voorspeld:
En overal ... zal de aarde beven. (Matteüs 24:7)
Voor de christenen onder ons zijn er dan spannende tijden aangebroken, want zoals het er nu uitziet op de wereld komt de lang voorspelde opname naderbij.
De christipedia geeft de volgende verklaring voor de opname.
De opneming of opname van de gemeente, ook wel kortweg de Opname (Eng. rapture; Zuid-Afrikaans: wegraping) genoemd, is een toekomstige, door de Bijbel voorzegde gebeurtenis, waarbij ware gelovigen in de hele wereld in een oogwenk door Jezus van de aardbodem zullen worden weggehaald (1 Cor. 15:50v; 1 Thess. 4:16-17).
De Engelse term 'rapture' is ontleend aan de Latijnse Vulgaat-vertaling van de Bijbel.
Zover is het echter nog niet volgens de bijbel, want eerst zal er nog een (wereld)oorlog komen:
Jullie zullen berichten horen over oorlogen en oorlogsdreiging. Laat dat je dan niet verontrusten, die dingen moeten namelijk gebeuren, al is daarmee het einde nog niet gekomen. (Matteüs 24:6)
Het ene volk zal tegen het andere ten strijde trekken en het ene koninkrijk tegen het andere... (Matteüs 24:7).
Maar, wanneer dan die opname komt voor de christenen, vertoont dat opvallend veel overeenkomsten met de droom van een lezer zoals wij die onlangs hebben geplaatst.
De eerste droom was dat er rechthoekige ufo's vanuit de lucht neerdaalden ze leken op oorlogstanks maar dan zonder loop en rupsbanden,je zag ze overal naar beneden komen, Ik had nog nooit wat gezien of gelezen over rechthoekige UFO's( dacht altijd dat ze rond waren ,had me er nooit in verdiept , na deze dromen wel ;-)
De volgende beelden in die droom waren dat ik met nog een groepje van zo'n 25 man aan het rennen waren , heel gehaast er was paniek, we kwamen bij een open veld en ik zag honderden of misschien wel duizenden mensen schreeuwend op ons afrennen van alle kanten , heel beangstigend. In die droom begreep ik niet waarom ze op ons afkwamen en dan ook nog zoveel..
We kwamen aan bij een soort voertuig dat net boven de grond hing en we moesten een metalen trap op een soort zigzag trap ,dus eerst een stukje dan een plateautje en dan haaks daarop weer een stuk trap , .Bovenaan stond een man van een jaar of 30 /35 qua uiterlijk met een handgebaar te wijzen dat we snel naar binnen moesten Hij sprak niet. Eenmaal binnen zag ik een soort van koven /openruimten aan de zijkanten waar strakke precies erin passenden moderne lig/rust bedden zaten . Alles was grijs getint, er liep een wat dikkere man op het gangpad voor die koven en mopperde wat , ik zei nou misschien zijn we wel voer , die grap kon hij niet waarderen ,en zei nou mooi is dat.
De bovenstaande droom zou je een niet christelijke versie van de opname kunnen noemen. Mensen die van de aarde worden gehaald in grote ruimteschepen en op die manier worden gered voor de rampen die de aarde ten deel zullen vallen.
Wat de bijbel beschrijft als opname is waarschijnlijk exact hetzelfde als wat de lezer in de droom ervaart.
Dat betekent dat er een bepaald punt zal komen, waarbij wij als mensen voor een groot deel zullen worden gered door onze hemelse vader. Voor de niet gelovigen zullen dat niemand minder dan de Anunnaki zijn die wonen op de planeet Nibiru die nu met rasse schreden dichterbij komt.
Zij zijn degenen die ons ooit hebben geschapen als een slavenras om voor hen goud te delven in de Zuid Afrikaanse mijnen en nu komen ze terug.
Ook zij weten dat de passage van hun planeet een vernietigende uitwerking zal hebben op de aarde en dat veel mensen dit niet zullen overleven. Is het dan zo’n vreemde gedachte om te veronderstellen dat ze op een gegeven moment hier zullen zijn met enorme ruimteschepen om een deel van de mensheid te evacueren?
We ontvingen nog een interessante mail van een lezer (dank!).
Met veel interesse heb ik de afgelopen dagen de artikelen op jullie site gelezen. Voornamelijk over het "ophalen" van mensen door een moederschip en het artikel "leven wij onder een koepel?"
Het feit wil namelijk dat ik circa 15 jaar terug tweemaal een droom heb gehad dat ik opgehaald werd door een groot schip uit de ruimte. Dit omdat er een planeet richting de Aarde kwam.
Echter ben ik beide keren niet aan boord gegaan. De eerste keer omdat mijn droom abrupt stopte, de tweede keer omdat ik in mijn droom mijn kat niet kon vinden. En zonder mijn dieren vertrek ik nergens naartoe.
Deze dromen ben ik nooit vergeten omdat ze zo enorm echt leken dat ik bijna had verwacht tijdens het ontwaken dat er een schip in mijn tuin geparkeerd zou staan.
Dan het artikel over de koepel. Mijn moeder zei vroeger dat de lucht 's nachts lijkt op een soort van deksel. Dat wij in een kijkdoos leven en de sterren de gaatjes zijn waar het licht doorkomt. Dit vond ik een hele goede vergelijking omdat ik zelf heel vaak het gevoel had dat ik gevangen zat.
Ik kon simpelweg niet geloven dat "dit het was", dat er buiten die lucht alleen maar duister zou zijn met wat zwevende planeten. En ik heb dan ook vaak gedacht "ik wil hier uit". Met de komst van een vaste baan, partner, de nodige feestjes etcetera heb ik eigenlijk nooit meer deze gedachte gehad. Totdat ik 2,5 jaar terug ontwaakte uit de matrix.
Under the Dome van Stephen King gaf mij dan ook een flink stuk herkenning. En wederom heb ik dikwijls het onbehaaglijke gevoel dat ik eruit wil, dat ik gevangen zit en dat er veel meer is dan dat ik nu ken en weet.
En dan passeert er afgelopen week een grote vloot ruimteschepen de zon. Het is er niet één, maar een complete vloot die ergens naartoe onderweg is en misschien wel de aarde. Op de volgende foto zie je de vloot zoals die eruit ziet op de Soho beelden van de NASA telescoop.
De vloot bestaat uit een enorm groot moederschip met daarom heen een aantal kleinere schepen.
Op de foto hierna zie je naast het grote moederschepen nog drie kleinere (geel omcirkeld). Daar omheen zwerven een tiental kleine schepen (rood omcirkeld).
Wanneer je naar de grootte kijkt van deze schepen, dan zijn ze werkelijk enorm. In de video hieronder is te zien hoe groot ze zijn in vergelijking met de zon. Er passen ongeveer 1,3 miljoen aardes in de zon.
Een vloot zoals hierboven zou heel goed in staat zijn om een groot deel van de mensheid op aarde op te nemen. In feite is die vloot een soort miniwereld op zich.
Waarom zou een dergelijke vloot onze zon passeren? Dat betekent dat ze hier ergens in de buurt moeten zijn als onderdeel van hun missie.

The space agency has sparked excitement by announcing plans to present findings from images captured from the Hubble telescope.
Nasa said: “Astronomers will present results from a unique Europa observing campaign that resulted in surprising evidence of activity that may be related to the presence of a subsurface ocean on Europa.”
NASA will broadcast its hotly anticipated live statement on Europa at 7pm UK time, which is 2pm local time in the US, on Monday.
What is Europa?
Europa is the most famous of the 67 moons that orbit Jupiter, which is the solar system’s biggest planet.
Jupiter’s sixth-closest moon was discovered by Galileo in 1610 and named after Zeus' lover Europa, mother of King Minos of Crete.
It is believed that there is water on Europa, which means that theoretically it could be home to alien life.
A recent NASA study, released in May, suggested that “the necessary balance of chemical energy for life could exist there”.
The space agency said: “Europa is strongly believed to hide a deep ocean of salty liquid water beneath its icy shell.
“Whether the Jovian moon has the raw materials and chemical energy in the right proportions to support biology is a topic of intense scientific interest.”

MYSTERY surrounding huge ‘blob’ in deep space which has baffled astronomers for the best part of two decades has finally been unravelled – and the truth is even more mind-blowing than scientists expected.
Astronomer Chuck Steidel, of the California Institute of Technology, and his colleagues first spotted the glowing entity in the 1990s and could not figure out what it was.
The team were trying to study distant galaxies, but as Mr Steidel says, "but we also saw these big blotchy things.”
The massive clouds, which were up to 10 times the diameter of the Milky Way galaxy, around one million light years, were found to be vast clouds of hydrogen gas, which the team ultimately named ‘Lyman-alpha blobs’, which Mr Steidel says were meant to be "like the blob from outer space or something like that.”
Nonetheless, what baffled the experts was that they could not understand what was making the blobs glow.
Mr Steidel: "There was no obvious source that could be illuminating that blob.”
However, a new set of astronomers have looked at the clouds and discovered something that was not expecting.

Inside one of the huge clouds, which was studied by experts using Chile’s ALMA telescope – the world's largest array of radio telescopes – was found to be two large galaxies which are producing stars at a never before seen rate.
Each of the galaxies inside the clouds was producing the equivalent of 100 new stars a year, according to University of Hertfordshire’s Jim Geach.

When he took his dog for a walk through a UK forest, he never thought that three shining orbs in the sky were going to be the highlight of his evening. Still, they were. The 32-year-old did get struck by them, and they did follow him through the hills near Great Shefford in Berkshire.
He had already seen them four times, so on Monday he took his camera because he wanted to capture the mysterious orbs and examine them closely. However, the camera refused to take his side after he captured some footage. Then the camera suddenly died even though it was fully charged.
The lighted orbs baffled the citizens of the leafy village in West Berkshire, as they were seen over the forest many times by different people in the past three months.
However, the dog-walker managed to capture some of the scenes, shooting the shiny orbs floating over the sky on Monday at around 7.45pm.
The man said: "There is no pattern as to when they appear - it's not a particular day or time but I've seen them about four times now. They have always been in the same position and the most lights I've seen at one time was six. They stay in the sky for a maximum of 15 minutes and then just disappear.
The comments that followed the article trod the usual trail. The readers were neatly divided over whether it was a UFO or not. While one reader said that it was a Chinese lantern, another said that it was a helicopter. The rare commentator called it a UFO---and asked the others to "do some research" on their UFOs.
What could the lights be? Different camera shots have captured different sights---mostly in the sky. Most of them were lights, mysterious objects shaped like spaceships, cigars, doughnuts or saucers.

NASA's Mars 2020 Rover, which is targeted to launch in July 2020, will conduct geological examinations on its landing site on Mars. It aims to determine if the Red Planet provides a habitable environment and whether there had been past or even present extraterrestrial life on the planet.
However, one of the aims of the Mars 2020 is to lay the foundation for future human exploration with its MOXIE, Mars Oxygen In-situ Resource Utilization Experiment. The device will produce oxygen from the carbon dioxide atmosphere of the Red Planet at a rate of an estimated 0.35 ounces (10 grams) per hour.
"The object is not to produce a lot of oxygen. The object is to show that the process works on Mars. MOXIE produces only about 10 [grams] per hour of oxygen, less than one percent of full scale," saidDonald Rapp, one of the designers of the device. He added that MOXIE is just one of nine devices on the Mars 2020 Rover, but it's the most essential for human exploration.
According to previous data gathered from Mars, its atmosphere is 96 percent carbon dioxide. So, MOXIE is tasked to inhale carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen, just like what plants and trees do on Earth. Basically, the device will gather carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, store it and will electrochemically divide the molecules into carbon monoxide and dioxygen.
Meanwhile, scientists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have developed a novel spectroscopic technique that may help the Mars 2020 Rover to locate and find signs of present or past extraterrestrial life on the Red Planet.
The technique will help the rover analyze and identify sediments from the planet without compromising its pristine condition. This will allow scientists to identify signs of former life. Maintaining the original composition of sediments is important to make sure data is not altered and the sediments are of their original composition.
"This may help in deciding what samples the 2020 rover will archive. It will be looking for organic matter preserved in sediments, and this will allow a more informed selection of samples for potential return to Earth," said Roger Summons, professor of earth, atmospheric, and planetary sciences at MIT.

‘Dazzling’ green lights, mysterious hovering shapes and even a call asking for a space ship to be sent – these are just some of the intriguing features of UFO reports made toCheshire Constabulary .
Seven such reports were logged by call handlers between 2012 and 2015, according to information released to the Chronicle by the force following a request under the Freedom of Information Act.
Supposedly unexplained figures flying in the skies above Cheshire seem to have led some callers to question ‘is it a bird, is it a plane?’ before ultimately deciding it must be something out of this world and go on to report their suspicions to police.
Police received one report in 2012, none at all in 2013, three in 2014 and three last year, and of the seven in total two relate to Ellesmere Port , two to Northwich and one toChester .
The Chester caller reported having a close encounter outside their own home in April 2014.
One of the Ellesmere Port callers said they saw a ‘dazzling green round light bigger than aeroplane, not a firework and not a plane’ two days after Christmas in 2014.
While another Ellesmere Port resident believed they spotted three UFOs flashing white and blue in the sky 11 months later, last November.
But the strangest log of all was courtesy of one Northwich caller who requested a very unusual mode of transport.
Cheshire police’s records reveal: “Caller not making any sense has asked operator for a space ship.”
The Ministry of Defence (MoD) closed its UFO desk and hotline in 2009 because it was not deemed to serve any defence purpose, and resources devoted to it could be used on more valuable defence-related activities.
After it was disbanded, police forces and air traffic control centres were told not to refer UFO sightings to the MoD any more.

After making our presentation of the “Nationwide UFO Magnitude Study” at the 2016 Mutual UFO Network Symposium, we demonstrated that we could drill down into the data for a specific day during the sample years of the study (2001-2015). Our presented example of this ability was the Fourth of July sighting chartspublished on this blog in July. During the presentation’s question-and-answer period, we were asked if we’d done a specific day table for Sept. 11, 2001, which we hadn’t. Interestingly, a fair number of people in the audience expressed a desire to see this data. So here is the New York State chart showing the counties and tallies for UFOs on 9/11.
On 9/11, only five counties had sighting reports in the both the MUFON and NUFORC databases. Sixteen UFO sightings were assigned to specific counties, and three had no city reported, therefore there wasn’t any county information. Of the 16 county UFO reports, 12 were assigned to Manhattan.
As an analyst, I must caution readers that an unusual amount of daily UFO sighting reports must be weighed in the context of the emotion and panic of 9/11; something government UFO researchers and debunkers used to call “war nerves.” The other thing that must be clearly pointed out from an analysis view point is correlation does not equal causation.
As a UFO researcher, I point out another unique window of time associated with 9/11: after the attacks. The United States air space was shut down for three days.Nobody was flying on September 12, 13, and 14, 2001.
While the database reports no UFO sighting reports for Sept. 12 and 14, 2001, there were four UFO sighting reports in various parts of New York state on Sept. 13, as evidenced by the chart above.
The question arises: Were there UFO sighting reports in the rest of the United States during the post 9/11 air space shut down? At present, I don’t know, but I promise to get back to you in the near future after I compile the numbers, because to be honest with you, I’m intrigued at what I might find.

News states: Robert “Bob” Lazar (born January 26, 1959) is a controversial individual who claims qualifications as a scientist and engineer and alleged that he worked with extraterrestrial technology at a site called S4 near the Area 51 test facility. Lazar claimed to have worked in 1988 and 1989 as a physicist at S4 allegedly located at Papoose Lake southwest of top secret Area 51 near Groom Dry Lake, Nevada. According to Lazar, S4 serves as a hidden military location for the study and research of extraterrestrial spacecraft, or flying saucers using reverse engineering.
Lazar says he saw nine different extraterrestrial vehicles there and has provided detailed information on the mode of propulsion and other technical details of a disc-shaped vehicle he called the sport model. Lazar’s credibility was challenged after it was discovered that “schools he was supposed to have attended had no record of him, while others in the scientific community had no memory of ever meeting him.”[2] Lazar’s supporters counter that Lazar’s credentials and history were sabotaged to create the very questions of credibility his critics have emphasized.
Lazar first appeared in the media in the late 1980s. He appeared on television on a local Las Vegas news program discussing his experience at S4 and Area 51. He was also featured in the Los Alamos Monitor in a story dealing with a jet car he claimed to have built with help from a NASA researcher. The car was built from a jet engine modified and placed on an existing car model.[3] The article stated that Lazar was “a physicist at the Los Alamos Meson Physics Facility”.
In the race to discover a proposed ninth planet in our Solar System, Carnegie’s Scott Sheppard and Chadwick Trujillo of Northern Arizona University have observed several never-before-seen objects at extreme distances from the Sun in our Solar System.
Sheppard and Trujillo have now submitted their latest discoveries to the International Astronomical Union’s Minor Planet Center for official designations. A paper about the discoveries has also been accepted to The Astronomical Journal.
The more objects that are found at extreme distances, the better the chance of constraining the location of the ninth planet that Sheppard and Trujillo first predicted to exist far beyond Pluto (itself no longer classified as a planet) in 2014.
The placement and orbits of small, so-called extreme trans-Neptunian objects can help narrow down the size and distance from the Sun of the predicted ninth planet, because that planet’s gravity influences the movements of the smaller objects that are far beyond Neptune. The objects are called trans-Neptunian because their orbits around the Sun are greater than Neptune’s.
In 2014, Sheppard and Trujillo announced the discovery of 2012 VP113 (nicknamed “Biden”), which has the most-distant known orbit in our Solar System.
At this time, Sheppard and Trujillo also noticed that the handful of known extreme trans-Neptunian objects all cluster with similar orbital angles. This led them to predict that there is a planet at more than 200 times our distance from the Sun. Its mass, ranging in possibility from several Earths to a Neptune equivalent, is shepherding these smaller objects into similar types of orbits.
Some have called this Planet X or Planet 9. Further work since 2014 showed that this massive ninth planet likely exists by further constraining its possible properties.
Analysis of “neighboring” small body orbits suggest that it is several times more massive than the Earth, possibly as much as 15 times more so, and at the closest point of its extremely stretched, oblong orbit it is at least 200 times farther away from the Sun than Earth. (This is over 5 times more distant than Pluto.)
“Objects found far beyond Neptune hold the key to unlocking our Solar System’s origins and evolution,” Sheppard explained. “Though we believe there are thousands of these small objects, we haven’t found very many of them yet, because they are so far away.
The smaller objects can lead us to the much bigger planet we think exists out there. The more we discover, the better we will be able to understand what is going on in the outer Solar System.”

The most distant of the planets obviously visible to the naked eye, Saturn is the sixth planet in the solar system. Because it travels in an elliptical path rather than a circular one, it doesn't always lie the same distance from the sun as it wanders through the sky.
The distance to Saturn from our planet is constantly changing as both of the planets travel through space. When the two are closest, they lie approximately 746 million miles (1.2 billion kilometers) apart, or eight times the distance between the Earth and the sun. At their most distant, when they lie on opposite sides of the sun from one another, they are just over a billion miles (1.7 billion km) apart, or 11 times the distance between the Earth and the sun.
Space travel is rarely a matter of moving in a straight line. Spacecraft often take advantage of planets, moons, and even the sun to gain speed with the use of little fuel. As such, older missions may have taken less time to reach outer planets than those with more modern propulsion systems.
Pioneer 11 took the first look at Saturn. Launched in April 1973, the craft passed Saturn over six years later, in September 1979.
The Voyager spacecrafts took advantage of an optimal lineup to explore the outer planets. Launched in September 1977, Voyager 1 used a gravitational assist from Jupiter to swing by Saturn in November 1980, only three years after leaving Earth. Although Voyager 2 launched a month earlier than its twin, it took a longer, more circular route and arrived in August 1981, taking a full four years to reach Saturn.
The Cassini mission, which left Earth in October 1997, twice used Venus for gravitational assists, slingshoting off of the cloudy planet. It also made a flyby of Jupiter, imaging the gas giant as it passed by. After almost seven years, the craft entered orbit around Saturn in July 2004, where it intends to study the planet until at least 2017. Among other things, the mission has studied lightning in Saturn's atmosphere.
The New Horizons mission, headed to the dwarf planet Pluto, launched in January 2006. Traveling at the fastest launch speed to date, it passed by Mars and Jupiter, then skimmed by Saturn in June 2008, taking only a year and a half to reach the ringed giant.
As you can see, the question of how long it takes to reach Saturn depends significantly on the path selected for the mission, as much if not more than the speed of the spacecraft itself.
Recently NASA scientists have identified an unexpected high-altitude methane ice cloud on Saturn's moon Titan that is similar to exotic clouds found far above Earth's poles.
This lofty cloud, imaged by NASA's Cassini spacecraft, was part of the winter cap of condensation over Titan's north pole. Now, eight years after spotting this mysterious bit of atmospheric fluff, researchers have determined that it contains methane ice, which produces a much denser cloud than the ethane ice previously identified there.
"The idea that methane clouds could form this high on Titan is completely new," said Carrie Anderson, a Cassini participating scientist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, and lead author of the study. "Nobody considered that possible before."
Methane clouds were already known to exist in Titan's troposphere, the lowest layer of the atmosphere. Like rain and snow clouds on Earth, those clouds form through a cycle of evaporation and condensation, with vapor rising from the surface, encountering cooler and cooler temperatures and falling back down as precipitation. On Titan, however, the vapor at work is methane instead of water.
The newly identified cloud instead developed in the stratosphere, the layer above the troposphere. Earth has its own polar stratospheric clouds, which typically form above the North Pole and South Pole between 49,000 and 82,000 feet (15 to 25 kilometers) -- well above cruising altitude for airplanes. These rare clouds don't form until the temperature drops to minus 108 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 78 degrees Celsius).
Other stratospheric clouds had been identified on Titan already, including a very thin, diffuse cloud of ethane, a chemical formed after methane breaks down. Delicate clouds made from cyanoacetylene and hydrogen cyanide, which form from reactions of methane byproducts with nitrogen molecules, also have been found there.
But methane clouds were thought unlikely in Titan's stratosphere. Because the troposphere traps most of the moisture, stratospheric clouds require extreme cold. Even the stratosphere temperature of minus 333 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 203 degrees Celsius), observed by Cassini just south of the equator, was not frigid enough to allow the scant methane in this region of the atmosphere to condense into ice.
What Anderson and her Goddard co-author, Robert Samuelson, noted is that temperatures in Titan's lower stratosphere are not the same at all latitudes. Data from Cassini's Composite Infrared Spectrometer and the spacecraft's radio science instrument showed that the high-altitude temperature near the north pole was much colder than that just south of the equator.
It turns out that this temperature difference -- as much as 11 degrees Fahrenheit (6 degrees Celsius) -- is more than enough to yield methane ice.
Other factors support the methane identification. Initial observations of the cloud system were consistent with small particles composed of ethane ice. Later observations revealed some regions to be clumpier and denser, suggesting that more than one ice could be present. The team confirmed that the larger particles are the right size for methane ice and that the expected amount of methane -- one-and-a-half percent, which is enough to form ice particles -- is present in the lower polar stratosphere.
The mechanism for forming these high-altitude clouds appears to be different from what happens in the troposphere. Titan has a global circulation pattern in which warm air in the summer hemisphere wells up from the surface and enters the stratosphere, slowly making its way to the winter pole. There, the air mass sinks back down, cooling as it descends, which allows the stratospheric methane clouds to form.
"Cassini has been steadily gathering evidence of this global circulation pattern, and the identification of this new methane cloud is another strong indicator that the process works the way we think it does," said Michael Flasar, Goddard scientist and principal investigator for Cassini's Composite Infrared Spectrometer (CIRS).
Like Earth's stratospheric clouds, this methane cloud was located near the winter pole, above 65 degrees north latitude. Anderson and Samuelson estimate that this type of cloud system -- which they call subsidence-induced methane clouds, or SIMCs for short -- could develop between 98,000 to 164,000 feet (30 to 50 kilometers) in altitude above Titan's surface.
"Titan continues to amaze with natural processes similar to those on the Earth, yet involving materials different from our familiar water," said Scott Edgington, Cassini deputy project scientist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California. "As we approach southern winter solstice on Titan, we will further explore how these cloud formation processes might vary with season."
The results of this study are available online in the journal Icarus.
