Het is een lief, aanhankelijk hondje, dat zich op een week snel aan ons heeft aangepast. Ze is heel vinnig en nieuwsgierig, een heel ander hondje dan Noleke.

Behind The Curtain
Officials from the U.S. Space Force announced Wednesday that the military branch will launch a new mission on May 16 — using the mysterious X-37B space plane to do so, which has spent years at a time in orbit without any public-facing explanation.
The X-37B will be ferrying a scientific research satellite into orbit, CNET reports, which will conduct experiments for other branches of the military and NASA.

There are two research projects that the satellite, FalconSat-8, will be conducting once the space plane carries it into orbit, CNET reports.
NASA will be sending plant seeds into space to study the effects of cosmic radiation, and the Naval Research Laboratory is sending instruments intended to convert solar energy into microwaves that can be beamed to the ground and used as a power source.
“This will be the first X-37B mission to use a service module to host experiments,” Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office director Randy Walden said in a press release.
Round Two
While the upcoming launch will be the sixth mission — over the course of a decade — for the X-37B, it’s only the second-ever Space Force mission.
The first mission helped complete a military communication network, making this the first foray into basic scientific research for the nascent military branch.

Weather Forecasting on Mars Likely to be Trickier Than on Earth
Predicting the weather here on Earth is never an easy thing, but predicting it on Mars may be ever trickier. Such is the argument presented by a recent study concerning “macroweather” patterns on the Red Planet, a new regime for understanding how planetary environments work.
When it comes to describing the climate of a planet, two important concepts come into play. First, there’s weather, which covers day-to-day changes due to fluctuations in the atmosphere. Second, there’s climate, which is more stable and subject to change over the course of decades. Macroweather, the latest addition to the game, describes the relatively stable periods that exist between short-term weather and long-term climate.
For those of us dwelling here on planet Earth, these are familiar concepts. But researchers say this same three-part pattern applies to atmospheric conditions on Mars. The results of a new paper, published today in Geophysical Research Letters also show that the Sun plays a major role in determining macroweather.

The scientists chose to study Mars because of the wealth of data it has provided in recent decades, which they then used to test their theory that a transitional “macroweather” regime exists on a planet other than Earth. They used information collected from the Viking Mars lander mission from the 1970s and 1980s, and more recent data from the Mars Global Surveyor.
By taking into account how the sun heats Mars, as well as the thickness of the planet’s atmosphere, the scientists predicted that temperatures and wind would fluctuate on Mars similar to how they fluctuate on Earth. However, this transition from weather to macroweather would take place over 1.8 Martian days (about two Earth days), compared with a week to 10 days here on Earth.
“Our analysis of the data from Mars confirmed this prediction quite accurately,” said Shaun Lovejoy, a physics professor at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and lead author of the paper. “This adds to evidence, from studies of Earth’s atmosphere and oceans, that the sun plays a central role in shaping the transition from short-term weather fluctuations to macroweather.”

The findings also indicate that weather on Mars can be predicted with some skill only two days in advance, compared to 10 days on Earth.
“We’re going to have a very hard time predicting the weather on Mars beyond two days given what we have found in weather records there,” said co-author Jan-Peter Muller from the University College London Mullard Space Science Laboratory in the UK, “which could prove tricky for the European lander and rover.”
This research promises to advance scientists’ understanding of the dynamics of Earth’s own atmosphere, and could potentially provide insights into the weather of Venus, Saturn’s moon Titan, and possibly the gas giants Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
As always, in learning about other planets and their climates, scientists are finding that the planets of our Solar System may have more in common with Earth than previously thought. Because of this, studying these other worlds will inevitably help us to better understand our own.
Future astronauts on the moon will need to have water, and now NASA has designed a new CubeSat spacecraft to search for ice in lunar craters using laser beams.

NASA is moving forward with its Artemis program, whose goal is to land the first woman and next man at the moon’s south pole by 2024. See this April 2020 report. When humans return to the moon this time, they’ll likely stay longer than their Apollo counterparts in the late 1960s and ’70s; the record stay during the Apollo missions was about 75 hours.
To accomplish future longer stays on the moon, lunar astronauts might utilize some natural resources from the moon itself, in particular water ice said to have been confirmed to exist in 2018, in deeply shadowed craters at the moon’s poles. This ice can be melted and purified for drinking; it can be used for rocket fuel. Enter Lunar Flashlight – a briefcase-sized satellite, also known as a CubeSat – with a projected launch date of 2021 and a specific mission of detecting naturally occurring surface ice in shadowed craters on the moon.
NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) described the innovative Lunar Flashlight technology on April 27, 2020. A new peer-reviewed paper about it was published in the April 2020 issue of IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Magazine.
What is the Lunar Flashlight and what will it do?

Basically, Lunar Flashlight acts like a spotlight. Lunar Flashlight will scan the surface with a near-infrared laser beam, shining down on the lunar surface to help scientists look for deposits of ice near the lunar south pole.Barbara Cohen, principal investigator of the mission at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, said in the JPL statement:
Although we have a pretty good idea there’s ice inside the coldest and darkest craters on the moon, previous measurements have been a little bit ambiguous.
Scientifically, that’s fine, but if we’re planning on sending astronauts there to dig up the ice and drink it, we have to be sure it exists.
Mission profile and timeline for Lunar Flashlight.
Lunar Flashlight is a very small satellite [about 5 x 10 x 14 inches, or 12 × 24 × 36 cm], developed and managed by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, that will search for water ice exposures and map their locations in the moon’s south polar region. The Lunar Flashlight mission will demonstrate technologies for NASA such as green propulsion and activelaser spectroscopy while proving the capability of performing a planetary science investigation in the CubeSat form factor. Lunar Flashlight was selected in 2014 by the NASA Advanced Exploration Systems (AES) program … Lunar Flashlight will be one of 13 secondary payloads launched on Artemis-1, currently scheduled for 2020.
Water ice deposits have been found by orbiting spacecraft, but Lunar Flashlight would allow the exact locations of deposits to be determined, which could then be mined and used by astronauts staying on the moon for long periods of time. It will also be the first lunar mission to use lasers to find the ice.John Baker, Lunar Flashlight project manager at JPL, said:
A technology demonstration mission like Lunar Flashlight, which is lower cost and fills a specific gap in our knowledge, can help us better prepare for an extended NASA presence on the moon as well as test key technologies that may be used in future missions.
Because the moon is virtually airless, it gets very hot in the sunlight, but extremely cold in the darkness, especially within deep craters that are permanently in shadow at the poles. In those cold places, water ice molecules can accumulate and remain stable on the surface. As Cohen explained:
The sun moves around the crater horizon but never actually shines into the crater. Because these craters are so cold, these molecules never receive enough energy to escape, so they become trapped and accumulate over billions of years.

Such deposits on the moon are of much interest, and necessary, for future astronauts who will want to stay on the moon for long missions, or even eventually stay there permanently in bases. It would be expensive to continually transport water from Earth to the moon, so using the available resources of the already-existing ice deposits makes sense.
Lunar Flashlight will beam its lasers into some of these craters where the ice is either known or suspected to exist. It will do this for at least two months, and will be able to map out where these deposits are with great accuracy.
How does Lunar Flashlight identify ice?
The spacecraft’s four-laser reflectometer, which incorporates spectrophotometry, will use near-infrared wavelengths in the laser beams. Those wavelengths will be absorbed by water ice, but bare rock will simply reflect them back to the spacecraft. If there is a lot of absorption in a crater, that would be evidence for widespread ice deposits. Those findings can then be compared with those from other orbiters that have previously found ice on the moon. Cohen said:
We will also be able to compare the Lunar Flashlight data with the great data that we already have from other moon-orbiting missions to see if there are correlations in signatures of water ice, thereby giving us a global view of surface ice distribution.
Lunar Flashlight will also be the first planetary CubeSat mission to use “green” propulsion, propellant that is less toxic and safer than hydrazine, which is commonly used by most spacecraft.

While ice on the moon may sound rather unusual, it isn’t really too surprising to scientists. Asteroids and of course comets can also contain water ice. Even Mercury, which is much closer to the sun than the moon, has ice near its poles, found by the MESSENGER spacecraft in 2012.
There are also two other missions on the Artemis-1 launch that will complement Lunar Flashlight; Lunar IceCube and LunaH-Map will make additional measurements, looking for ice and other hydrogen deposits at the lunar south pole and on the near side of the moon. Results from all three missions will be synergistic, simultaneously exploring the nature and distribution of water ice on the moon in advance of human exploration.
Missions like Lunar Flashlight will help NASA astronauts not only continue to explore the moon, but also set the stage for long-term and then permanent human settlement on our nearest neighbor in space.
Bottom line: NASA has designed a new CubeSat spacecraft, the Lunar Flashlight, to search for ice on the moon using laser beams.

Terwijl alle aandacht wordt opgeslokt door het wereldwijde viruscircus, gebeuren er ook andere belangrijke dingen. Zoals de temperatuur op aarde die de op één na snelste daling in temperatuur gedurende een periode van twee maanden ooit meemaakt op dit moment.
Een groot voordeel van het niet vliegen is uiteraard dat je ook niet of nauwelijks chemtrails in de lucht ziet. De luchten zijn voor het grootste deel weer zoals ze horen ze zijn (al zien we de laatste paar dagen toch weer wat strepen en bijbehorende sluierige wolken) en hoewel dit niet prettig is voor onze vakanties en dergelijke valt er iets opzienbarends waar te nemen.
Tegenwoordig wordt er open en bloot gesproken over chemtrails en dat deze ingezet worden om het zonlicht te blokkeren, waardoor de aarde minder snel zou afkoelen.
Reeds jaren maken we ons zorgen om al die verkeersvliegtuigen hoog in de lucht die die witte strepen (contrails) trekken. We hadden het sterke vermoeden dat het hier een complot betrof om chemische stoffen over de bevolking uit te strooien (chemtrails) om voorshands onbekende doelen te bereiken.
Welnu, dat is ook zo. Het complet is ontmaskerd; we hebben thans zowel de aard van die chemische stof als wel het duistere doel achterhaald. Het is veel erger dan we dachten want alle vliegtuigen met combustie installaties zijn deel van de samenzwering. De chemische stof is dihydromonoxide (DHMO) en het doel is om daarmee op slinkse wijze ‘global warming’ te veroorzaken, zodat de schuld daarvan op onze industrieën kan worden afgeschoven.
Aangezien we de laatste twee maanden aanmerkelijk minder vliegverkeer hebben gehad, zou de temperatuur op aarde dan ook moeten dalen als bovenstaande klopt.
En dat doet het inderdaad en niet zo zuinig ook.
De afgelopen twee maanden hebben we de op één na grootste daling ooit in temperaturen gezien op aarde gedurende een periode van twee maanden.
De temperaturen van de lagere atmosfeer vielen in de maanden maart en april met 0,38 graad Celsius van 0,76 graden naar 0,38.
De grootste daling gedurende een periode van twee maanden ooit in temperatuur vond plaats in 1987, in de tijd voor de wereld opwarmingshoax en die bedroeg toen 0,69 graad. Zoals je ziet is de temperatuur nu exact gelijk aan die in 1987, voordat deze sterk daalde.
De dalende trend in temperaturen zal zich waarschijnlijk de komende maanden voortzetten. Tenzij, doordat deze informatie teveel bekendheid krijgt, het programma weer wordt opgestart en dat lijkt de laatste dagen gematigd te gebeuren. Punt is wel dat ze dat niet te intensief kunnen doen omdat er formeel amper vliegverkeer is en dat dan dus heel vreemd zou zijn, al die strepen die ze normaliter wegwuiven als gewone vliegtuigstrepen of contrails.
Naast de dalende temperatuur door absentie van chemtrails, speelt er nog een andere heel belangrijke factor een rol, iets waar wij al jaren over schrijven, en dat is een sterk verminderde activiteit van de zon en zonnecycli die iedere keer lager uitvallen. Dit versterkt dus nog eens het effect van een lucht zonder chemtrails.
Het verloop van de zonnecycli die gemiddeld elf jaar duren, zie je op de volgende afbeelding vanaf het jaar 1700.
Alhoewel keihard ontkend door sjoemelinstituten zoals KNMI zorgen periodes met lagere zonneactiviteit voor uitzonderlijk lage temperaturen op aarde. Op bovenstaande afbeelding zie je de correlatie tussen weinig zonneactiviteit en lage temperaturen heel duidelijk rond het jaar 1800 toen er sprake was van het Dalton Minimum.
Het Dalton-minimum was een periode van lage zonneactiviteit, genoemd naar de Engelse meteoroloog John Dalton, die duurde van ongeveer 1790 tot 1830. Zoals het Maunder-minimum en het Spörer-minimum, viel het Dalton-minimum samen met een periode van lager dan gemiddelde wereldtemperatuur.
Nu hebben we opnieuw te maken met een soort Dalton Minimimum want men verwacht ook dat de komende zonnecyclus 25 weer lager zal uitpakken dan de laatste die alweer veel lager was dan degene daarvoor. Stel je eens voor wat dat voor de voedselvoorziening betekent die nu al sterk onder druk staat door de corona lockdown.
Ook op dit moment vertoont de zon nog nauwelijks enige activiteit en zijn er dit jaar al ongeveer 95 dagen geweest zonder zonnevlekken (26% procent van de tijd) en zonnevlekken zijn een indicatie van de activiteit van de zon.
We willen eenieder adviseren dit bericht intensief te delen en vooral op nu.nl waar je dan in ieder geval zeker weet dat je wordt verbannen tot de volgende ijstijd.

Date of sighting: April 30, 2020 Location of sighting: Bogata, Columbia This UFO was recorded over Bogata, Columbia two weeks ago. The UFO has an odd shape, one that is uneven on all sides. When I took a screenshot and tried to focus it, it came out 100%. The object appears to be changing shape, and almost has an appearance of a jellyfish. Very odd, but cool. Many black UFOs have been reported from South America, this is defiantly a great example of whats often seen down there. The object itself almost looks as if it were alive, and maybe it is. Scott C. This UFO was caught over Burbank, CA three months ago, but reported to MUFON today. The person recorded several planes in the overcast sky and as they were doing so, a UFO disk shoot past. UFOs often like to check out planes since they contain the latest technology. This object has no wings, no tail and no windows, but it does look like the side view of a large disk. Very cool capture and its definitely evidence that aliens exist. Its a well known fact that UFOs often check out airports, this is further proof that this is true.

I was taking photos for an assignment for school on February 27th, 2020. I did not notice anything back then until a few weeks ago in April I was editing the photos for another assignment and I saw something peculiar in the image so I started to play with dehaze, textures and contrasts, etc to enhance it and I saw the shape more clear. The interesting thing is there are 3 planes around the object so is easy to compare and see the difference in shapes. I took more than one photo at that moment but just one it shows the object. Ahuge ‘apocalyptic’ sandstorm swept over Niger capital Niamey on May 4, 2020 and was captured on film. The large plumes of dust appear to be hundreds of metres high as they engulf the city.
It lasted a few minutes, bringing a red darkness in mid-afternoon, and caused air traffic to stop temporarily.
Sandstorms are common across west Africa during the dry season which usually lasts from January to April. They sweep Saharan sand through Niger and neighbouring countries, out towards the Atlantic Ocean.
Grand Rapids MI – 8 May 2020 Just had a sighting in Grand Rapids MI. My daughter and i came back from the store and were in the car and and a “star” caught my attention because it got very bright suddenly. We both the observed as it suddenly shot up into the air and increased in intensity before suddenly descended a bit, then darting randomly left and right before the light suddenly dimmed a bit and it then very quickly descended further over the horizon to the South. Im on the South side of Grand Rapids. If i had to guess i would say it was over Wayland, MI. We then saw a few very tiny lights suddenly dart around before dissapearing.
Newton Abbot Devon England – May 7, 2020 I was outside taking photographs of the full Moon the third super moon of 2020 when a bright green object flew right underneath the moon and instantly caught my attention. I zoomed in with my Nikon P900 camera for a better look only to instantly recognise the craft as the same one that I had witnessed and photographed years ago back in April of 2016. The craft that I had originally seen had not been illuminated like this one and I had been able to see that it was jet black with almond shaped lights that where situated on the front of it that glowed with a yellowish tinge. Even though this craft was illuminated in a bright green glow I could still see that it was exactly the same craft. I immediately took a photograph and watched as the craft made a very sharp u turn before it headed away from my vantage point. I could now see the back of the craft and it was a fiery red colour. I quickly took another photograph and watched as the craft flew off into the distance before it disappeared from view. This was amazing not only did I get to photograph the super moon I also had this incredible sighting of an alien craft that I had seen and photographed years before. I have been witnessing unidentified structured craft like this one in the skies above Devon for years now and I truly believe that it is time for the British government to come forward and make a statement about these strange aerial objects. it’s pretty clear to me that the government know far more about this phenomena than they are letting on. Newton Abbot Devon England – May 5, 2020 I was outside in the back garden sky watching and I was looking around the sky for anything out of the ordinary when I spotted an object off to the east that was very high up in the sky. As I watched the object I was trying to figure out what it could be but I was unable to determine what exactly it was because it had no visible means of propulsion. The only thing I could see was that the object was oval shaped and as I followed the object across the sky while looking through the viewfinder of my P900 camera it suddenly changed direction and flew in amongst some wispy clouds. I quickly took a photograph of it and watched as the oval shaped object performed some strange maneuvers before it flew up into the atmosphere and disappeared from view. When I Looked at the photograph I could see that I had once again successfully managed to capture another unidentified object that had been flying around the sky with impunity high above the town and the unsuspecting public below. The Pentagon as recently acknowledge that unidentified objects are a reality and I believe that it is time for the British government to come forward and publicly acknowledge the presence of these strange unidentified objects in the sky above the United Kingdom. Broken Bow Oklahoma – 05/03/2020 Same exact as the latest UFO descriptions here. Right around 9pm, I saw at least 8 lights perfectly spaced moving W to E out of the horizon. I called my boyfriend out to witness also. There were a total of 20 lights total. Approximately 30 minutes later, we witnessed 28 lights, all perfectly spaced, this time moving from the North horizon moving South (towards us) to a certain spot in the sky above us and then disappear. Five minutes later, another set of 4 lights from the same area but went a different direction (West of where they were disappearing previously), then another set 15 after that where the 28 went to and disappeared. Several minutes later, another 8, same location….. If you saw the 3rd video on UFO’s the Pentagon released last week, it looked like those. Tried taking videos but you can’t see them. Very bizarre.

3 May 2020 – Aptos, US Last night about 9 or 10, looking towards the west from Aptos, I saw a repeating movement happen about 7 times. The small light was moving towards the north. It went so far… dimmed, disappeared and showed up again where I first saw it. Repeated. For real. I also saw alot of sparklies.

London, UK – May 2, 2020 This last Friday I was shooting a mobile home for a client. I didn’t see anything, or hear anything, but when I got home and uploaded the photos to my computer the object caught my eye. The object is not in any of the other photos I took that day. Newton Abbot Devon England – 30th of April I was sky watching from my open bedroom window where I have a really good vantage point of the sky above the town centre. I was looking around an area of the sky that had a lot of scattered clouds and I was really hoping to see an anomalous object. After a couple of minutes of looking around the edge of each cloud I spotted an object that emerged from one of the clouds. Although it was quite far off in the distance I was able to zoom in while looking through the viewfinder of my Nikon P900 camera where I could clearly see that it was in fact a saucer shaped craft. I quickly took some photographs managing to capture the fast moving saucer in two photographs before it flew directly into a large batch of clouds that were situated across from the cloud that it had originally emerged from. The saucer was now hidden away from sight and I patiently waited for it to re-emerge from the other side of the clouds but unfortunately it never did. This batch of large clouds was the perfect hiding place for this flying saucer and it was able to stay hidden away from prying eyes completely undetected as the clouds slowly drifted over the area high above the unsuspecting public down below. The first photograph shows the saucer heading towards the large batch of clouds. While the second photograph shows the saucer entering into the cloud before I lost sight of it. The photographs were taken on the 30th of April at Newton Abbot Devon England. I often see flying saucers and many other different types of anomalous craft flying around in the sky above this area and I really find it fascinating living in a town with so much activity especially for someone like me who is totally dedicated to the study of ufology. I find it very interesting that an alien intelligence is observing this area by keeping a constant presence high above this town. I wonder why. What could be so special about this area. Dade city fl – 4/29/2020 I seen a few star sized lights moved across the night sky..right by the moon for 2 hrs starting around 9 a bright light flashed well it stayed bright for 20 30 mins.. Then dimmed out and came back bright and did that 3 4x. Off to the right of that was a triangle made of the same star sized objects id been seeing all night. Off the tip star of the 3 triangle i watched with chills on my neck 5 or 6 maybe more i went running to grab someone in the house but they were strait line perfectly spaced fly across and disappeared into the night sky. I stayed out there in shock staring at the sky like a crazy man for 2 hrs the clouds rolled in and i could no longer see.. But i seen all the social media videos ive watched the 2020 recent stuff.. And that’s why i was looking tonight in the 1st place but now after seeing myself.. How do you explain all that.

Charleston, SC – April 29,2020 I was out walking my dog on a slightly overcast night. I was looking up at the stars and noticed a line of lights. I then realized that the lights were moving fairly fast. They looked like stars, evenly spaced and no noise. I counted at least 17 but I am sure there were more. My neighbor was out riding her bike and saw them as well. Neither of us had seen anything like this before. We do live near Charleston airport but they did not look like planes. They moved too fast, in perfect formation with no noise. My neighbor tried to film them but she could not capture them on film. I guess they were too far away? I would not have written this if I did not see others had the same experience. I would appreciate a logical explanation if anyone learns anything.

Surprise Arizona – March 21, 2020 @ 5:30am It was clear in the early morning hours of March 21, 2020 and looking up in the sky I saw, coming out of the north west traveling to the south east a fleet of UFO’s like they were on patrol, cruising across the sky at a steady clip. At first I thought I was looking at a satellite, but then there was one after the other, evenly spaced out and three rows of them. Some closer to each other than others. I counted over two dozen before I stopped counting and They were moving a little bit faster than a satellite. I could tell they were in space. I’ve been viewing the skies for many decades and have never seen anything like this. About a week or so later, I was getting my mail at around 8:00pm and in the sky coming out of the south west to the north east I saw the same thing again. They were suddenly appearing one after the other coming from the direction of the Orion Constellation out of the south west. My neighbor was outside and I pointed them out to him and his wife and we watched in awe for about 10 to 15 minutes and then the were gone. Both times I counted over 35 of them. They weren’t planes, jets or the like and they made absolutely no noise. When ever I star gaze, I’m lucky to see 1 maybe 2 satellites a week.
What is a safe distance to maintain between you and a black hole? A hundred miles? A solar system? A light year? Would you feel comfortable getting close enough to peer into one with your naked eye? Guess what? That’s where you are right now. Astronomers have determined that a tri-stellar system just 1,119 light years from Earth is made up of a B3-type star (hydrogen-burning), a black hole and a supergiant Be star orbiting the unusual binary pair. That distance makes it the closest black hole to Earth and the brightness makes the cluster visible without even binoculars from the southern hemisphere. Too close for comfort?
Dr. Petr Hadrava, Emeritus Scientist at the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, is co-author of the research paper, published in the journal Astronomy & Physics, entitled “A naked-eye triple system with a nonaccreting black hole in the inner binary” (in case you wanted to impress your friends by using the proper name). Hadrava tells Sci-News that the system HR 6819 was well-known to astronomers, but they had no idea it contained a black hole until astronomers using the 2.2m telescope at La Silla Observatory in Chile blinking in a way that could only be explained by it orbiting another object – the same strategy used to find exoplanets. What could be big enough to black out an entire star?
“We were totally surprised when we realised that this is the first stellar system with a black hole that can be seen with the unaided eye.”
The black hole in HR 6819 is truly invisible because it’s truly black. Other black holes have been discovered by the light and x-rays emitted as they consume everything around them. This one is not hungry (good news for nearby solar systems, right?), so its presence was made known by the periodic (every 40 days) disappearance of the orbiting star. That was enough proof for co-author Dr. Thomas Rivinius, an astronomer at ESO (European Organisation for Astronomical Research in the Southern Hemisphere).

While the HR 6819 system can be seen with the naked eye in the Southern Hemisphere, now is not a good time to look because it’s just emerging from behind the Sun. (Here’s a video re-creation.) That gives us some time to ponder another observation made to the BBC by co-author Marianne Heida, a postdoctoral fellow at ESO.
“In the Milky Way, the idea is that there should be about 100 million black holes. So there should be perhaps a couple more that are closer by still.”
One-thousand-and-change light years wasn’t sounding so bad, especially since the black hole in HR 6819 isn’t of the planet-gorging kind. But closer? How close? Proxima Centauri, the closest star, is only 4.244 light-years away – close enough that more than a few people believe we’ve been visited by beings from one of its planets. There are a lot of stars between 4 and 1,000 light years from the Sun. That’s a lot of chances to find more “truly black” black holes that aren’t eating their way towards us. However, not much is known about these black holes. How long will they stay calm and non-dangerous?
Astronomers have discovered the first ever evidence that a river once flowed for over 100,000 years on Mars. Researchers from the University of Utrecht were analyzing high-resolution images taken by the HiRISE camera on NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter when they found proof of a major river.
They found evidence that the river was quite deep and fast-flowing by analyzing the marks on exposed cliff faces that are over 650 feet in height. Additionally, the river would have flowed continuously throughout year. This new evidence proves that approximately 3.7 billion years ago, the Red Planet would have had an atmosphere stable enough to support large quantities of liquid water and even capable of supporting life.
“Such perennially flowing rivers would require an environment capable of maintaining large volumes of water for extensive time-periods, and almost certainly necessitated a precipitation-driven hydrological cycle,” explained lead researcher Dr. Francesco Salese, adding, “More in line with slower climatic change, and less in line with catastrophic hydrologic events.” “This kind of evidence, of a long-lived watery landscape, is crucial in our search for ancient life on the planet.”
They think that the river was continuously shifting therefore making sandbanks that are close to the ones found in the Rhine as well as additional rivers that are located in the northern part of Italy.
The huge cliff face is situated in the northwestern rim of the Hellas Basin in the southern hemisphere of the planet in a place that’s called Izola Mensa. Researchers were able to study tons of detail located on the soft sedimentary rocks and noticed that the marks were the same as those found here on our planet when water flows along rocks for an extended period of time. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to determine the length of the river. Salese explained this further by stating, “The extremely high resolution imagery allowed us to “read” the rocks as if you are standing very close to the cliff,” adding, “Unfortunately we don’t have the ability to climb, to look at the finer-scale details, but the striking similarities to sedimentary rocks on Earth leaves very little to the imagination.” Their study was published in the journal Nature Communications and can be read in full here.
Hopefully this new technology can aid scientists in examining even more planets. “Now we have the technology to extend this methodology to another terrestrial planet, Mars, which hosts an ancient sedimentary rock record which extends even further back in time than our own,” noted William McMahon who is a geologist at Utrecht University.
Salese added that NASA’s Perseverance rover is scheduled to fly by the Red Planet in July or August of this year and it will explore other similar rock deposits located in different parts of the planet.
In hisexcellent catalogue, “MIB Encounters,” Gareth Medway includes a story that suggests the Men in Black might be nothing less than biological robots. Before we get to the matter of the MIB being something far removed from the human race, let’s take a look at biological robots in today’s world of science. On January 13 of this year, the U.K.’s Guardian newspaper ran an article titled “Scientists use stem cells from frogs to build first living robots.” In part, the article stated: “Researchers in the US have created the first living machines by assembling cells from African clawed frogs into tiny robots that move around under their own steam. One of the most successful creations has two stumpy legs that propel it along on its ‘chest’. Another has a hole in the middle that researchers turned into a pouch so it could shimmy around with miniature payloads. ‘These are entirely new lifeforms. They have never before existed on Earth,’ said Michael Levin, the director of the Allen Discovery Center at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. ‘They are living, programmable organisms.'”
Do the Men in Black fall into the category of those “programmable organisms”? Let’s have a look at what we know about the MIB. We’ll begin with that aforementioned story that Gareth Medway highlights. It reads as follows: “The Christiansen family of Wildwood, New Jersey, who had seen a UFO on 22 November 1966, were interviewed by ‘the strangest looking man I’ve ever seen,’ wearing a thin black coat, who introduced himself as ‘Tiny’ from the ‘Missing Heirs Bureau.’ He spoke in a high, ‘tinny’ voice, in clipped words and phrases like a computer, ‘as if he were reciting everything from memory.’ His black trousers were too short, and ‘they could see a long thick green wire attached to the inside of his leg, it came up out of his socks and disappeared under his trousers.’ John Keel commented that he had not heard of this feature in other MIB cases: ‘Was Tiny wearing electric socks? Or was he a wired android operated by remote control?’ He departed in a black 1963 Cadillac.”
Now, to the theme of this article. First and foremost, the MIB are nothing like Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. The MIB-themed movies were good fun. They still are. But, by presenting the Men in Black as the employees of a secret organization that wipes out dangerous aliens, the assumption is they are human. They are not. There are so many weird issues surrounding the real MIB phenomena. Those same issues strongly suggest the Men in Black are something else entirely. Over the years I have addressed more than a few different theories for what the MIB might be. The list includes time-travelers, Tulpas/thought-forms, demons, extraterrestrials, inter-dimensional creatures, and more. But, let’s stay focused on that biological robot angle.
The fact is that the MIB do seem to act in a strange and robotic fashion. There is the matter of their skin. More than a few people who have been confronted by the Men in Black close-up have noticed something very strange. Eerie, in fact. In many cases, their faces appear to be plastic-like. Not unlike a nightmarish, hideous mannequin. Or a creepy old doll come to life. Moving on, Gareth Medway notes that the MIB talk in a very odd way. He mentioned they seem to recite “everything from memory.” I have several such cases in my files. In one case, the witness said the MIB appeared to have no actual understanding of what he/it was saying. The wording, the witness suspected, was programmed. On top of that, there’s the matter of the somewhat clumsy, jerky fashion of walking that the MIB have. Certainly, this is not described in every case, but there are more than a few such reports. Finally, there is the angle of food. Or, rather, from the perspective of the Men in Black, a distinct lack of food. That’s right: the MIB have a distinct aversion to food. They don’t even seem to know what food is. Perhaps, if the MIB are biological robots, they get their sustenance in a distinctly different way to us. None of this proves that the MIB are biological robots. But, specifically as an extremely controversial theory, it’s not a bad one.

In 2020, there has been a massive spike in UFO sightings in the US, and over the past few months, several mysterious flying lights have been spotted in different parts of the country. The recent addition to the list is an alleged UFO sighting in Las Vegas. A video uploaded to YouTube by the conspiracy theory channel 'The Hidden Underbelly 2.0' shows bizarre flying objects streaking across the skies in the most mysterious manner.

The UFOs spotted in the skies of Las Vegas hovered in a diamond formation, illuminating their bodies. The collection of orbs then appears to fly next to each other, before vanishing in the skies.
In the same video, the uploader added footage of another alleged UFO sighting in Richmond, Virginia. This sighting happened in broad daylight, showing bright orbs traveling across the skies in a bizarre formation.
As the video uploaded by The Hidden Underbelly went viral, viewers also shared their theories to explain the bizarre UFO sightings. Most of the viewers said that the flying objects could most probably be alien vessels from deep space. According to the alien enthusiasts, advanced extraterrestrials have been visiting the earth for hundreds of thousands of years to monitor human activities.
"That there is an extremely high possibility that we are actually being visited by non-human lifeforms. Now non-believers let that set in," commented Terry's Theories, a YouTube user.
"That diamond shape was cool how it spun around," commented Curtis Hill, another YouTuber.
However, some other users suggested that US President Donald Trump's proposed space force may already be operational in space, conducting routine patrolling of the skies.
Is alien disclosure imminent?
A section of conspiracy theorists believes that the US government is gearing up for an alien disclosure. Rumors regarding alien disclosure swirled after the Pentagon officially released three UFO videos that showed a bizarre flying craft screeching across the skies at mindblowing speed.
Conspiracy theorists believe that alien disclosure is a gradual procedure, arguing that the release of the videos is the first step aimed at informing the public about the existence of flying saucers.
They include all of the reported sightings in the UK between 2009 and 2000.
Over that nine-year period there were 156 reported sightings in Yorkshire, as people claimed to see everything from bright beams of light to something that "looked like a jellyfish flying in the sky".

In Bradford on February 20, someone saw "two strange lights" behind the clouds and they "appeared to be playing with each other and pretending to crash into each other" while a third light hovered underneath them.
On April 26 in Huddersfield a witness gave a detailed account after they spotted a mysterious flying object.
The report states: "A black spherical object 12m in diameter. It was 500ft up and travelling at 500 mph. It made no sound. It had a light on but switched it off when the witness shone a torch at it."
In Wakefield on May 24, someone spotted "a white object with a silver beam coming from it" and said it "change shape as it moved" over Pugney's Country Park.
In June, an air traffic controller was working in North Yorkshire when he saw bright orange lights. He said one of them was "followed by a group of three and then another single light".
On September 2, someone in Filey saw a "brilliant and dazzling pure white horizontal ring of light" and they said it "appeared to be perfectly still in the sky above the houses and was totally silent".

On February 28, someone claimed they saw "30 UFOs" flying over Bingley.
Shortly after 12.20am on June 8, people in Middleton and Ilkley saw "five orange objects and then one orange 'blob" in the sky.

On June 20 in Doncaster someone reported a "metallic, capsule-shaped object" which was "going quite fast and didn't slow down at any point" but didn't make a sound.
Later that month (June 22) a man in Wakefield claimed he saw "five bright, oval-shaped orange lights" in the sky and three of them were in a group while the others were travelling behind.
On July 20, someone in Scarborough saw "a cork shaped object that glowed like an angel fly up and over some trees".

A person in Huddersfield said they saw "a moon shaped object that kept reappearing every two minutes" and "it swerved rapidly to the left and right at different levels above the horizon" on July 6.
On August 4 in Sheffield someone saw "two strange objects followed by three others" and said "they were bright and fire coloured and spinning and moving very fast across the sky".
In Wakefield, someone saw a grey fast-moving "elongated triangular shaped object with rounded corners" on August 7.

years away. The planet orbits precariously close to a star that is much hotter than our sun. The planet is larger than Jupiter, and its very deep, hazy atmosphere sizzles at 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit — the temperature of molten glass.
We can now add atmospheric craziness to WASP-79b's already substantial exotic appeal.
The gas-giant exoplanet, which lies about 780 light-years from Earth, circles extremely close to its bright host star, completing one orbit every 3.7 Earth days. That proximity makes WASP-79b scorching hot, with an average temperature around 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit (1,650 degrees Celsius), NASA officials said.
All that heat puffs up WASP-79b substantially, making it one of the largest alien worlds ever observed. Although WASP-79b is just 85% as massive as Jupiter, it's 1.7 times wider than our solar system's biggest planet.
Then there's the alien world's air, which researchers have now probed in considerable detail. Iron rain likely falls through WASP-79b's skies, which probably sport a very alien yellowish hue, a recent study reports. (Yellow on the dayside, that is; like other "hot Jupiters," WASP-79b is likely tidally locked to its host star, always showing it the same face.)
The scientists behind the new research studied WASP-79b's atmosphere using NASA's Hubble Space Telescope and the Magellan Consortium's Magellan II Telescope in Chile. These observations showed no signs of "Rayleigh scattering," a phenomenon in which small, high-altitude dust particles cause wavelengths of starlight to disperse differentially.
Rayleigh scattering explains why Earth's sky is blue: This color of light has a very short wavelength and therefore bounces around a lot more than other colors do. It's unclear why this phenomenon may not be occurring on WASP-79b, study team members said.
"This is a strong indication of an unknown atmospheric process that we're just not accounting for in our physical models. I've shown the WASP-79b spectrum to a number of colleagues, and their consensus is 'that's weird,'" lead author Kristin Showalter Sotzen, a graduate student in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Maryland, said in a statement.
"Because this is the first time we've seen this, we're really not sure what the cause is," Sotzen said. "We need to keep an eye out for other planets like this because it could be indicative of unknown atmospheric processes that we don't currently understand. Because we only have one planet as an example, we don't know if it's an atmospheric phenomenon linked to the evolution of the planet."
The iron rain feature, while also exotic, is perhaps not quite so rare. For example, the hot Jupiter WASP-76b seems to sport this type of alien precipitation as well. ("WASP," by the way, stands for "Wide Angle Search for Planets," the international consortium that discovered these and a number of other alien worlds.)
We could learn quite a bit more about WASP-79b in the not-too-distant future. Hubble also spotted signs of water vapor in the planet's atmosphere, a discovery that put WASP-79b on the early target list for NASA's James Webb Space Telescope, agency officials said.
The $9.8 billion James Webb is scheduled to launch next year on a mission to peer at the universe's earliest stars and galaxies, study nearby exoplanets for possible signs of life (though we certainly wouldn't expect that in WASP-79b's skies), and much more.
The sixth X-37B flight will carry more experiments than any previous program mission.
The U.S. military's mysterious X-37B space planeis just 10 days away from launching on its next mission.
The X-37B is scheduled to lift off atop a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket from Florida's Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on May 16, kicking off the sixth mission for the robotic vehicle, Space Force and Air Force officials announced today (May 6).
"This important mission will host more experiments than any prior X-37B flight, including two NASA experiments," Secretary of the Air Force Barbara Barrett said today during a webinar hosted by the nonprofit Space Foundation.

One of those NASA payloads will examine the effects of space radiation on seeds, and the other will assess the performance of various materials in the space environment, Barrett explained.
Another experiment, designed by the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, "transforms solar power into radio-frequency microwave energy, then studies transmitting that energy to Earth," she said.

The upcoming mission, known as OTV-6 (short for "Orbital Test Vehicle-6") and Space Force-7, will also deploy FalconSat-8, a small satellite developed by the U.S. Air Force Academy that itself carries five separate experiments.
To accommodate these and other payloads, the space plane has been outfitted with a service module for OTV-6 — a first for the X-37B program, Air Force officials said in a statement today.
The Air Force has two X-37B vehicles that we know of, both of which were built by Boeing. The vehicles look like NASA's old space shuttle orbiters, only much smaller. Each X-37B is 29 feet (8.8 meters) long by 9.5 feet (2.9 m) tall, with a wingspan of about 15 feet (4.6 m) and a payload bay the size of a pickup truck bed.
For comparison, each space shuttle was 122 feet (37 m) long with a wingspan of 78 feet (24 m).

The X-37B allows the U.S. military to test a variety of new tech in the space environment and return the gear to the ground for analysis. Many of the payloads that go up are classified, and military officials tend not to disclose many details of the vehicles' activities in orbit.
"The X-37B team continues to exemplify the kind of lean, agile and forward-leaning technology development we need as a nation in the space domain," Gen. Jay Raymond, the U.S. Space Force Chief of Space Operations, said in today's statement. (The newly formed Space Force, which is part of the Department of the Air Force, is responsible for X-37B launches, orbital operations and landings.)
"Each launch represents a significant milestone and advancement in terms of how we build, test and deploy space capabilities in a rapid and responsive manner," Raymond added.
It's unclear how long OTV-6 will last, but precedent suggests that the mission will be a sustained one. Each OTV flight has broken duration records for the program, and OTV-5, which landed in October 2019, circled Earth for 780 days.
The five previous X-37B missions racked up a combined 2,865 days in orbit, Barrett said. That's about 7 years and 10 months of off-Earth technology testing.

In the night sky, far south of the equator, there’s a curious collection of faint constellations embedded in the tapestry of stars. They do not bear the names of myths and legends, because the ancient Greeks couldn’t see them from the Northern Hemisphere. These constellations were charted later, in the mid-18th century, by a French astronomer who sailed south, and he named them in honor of some rather mundane objects of his own time: a telescope, a microscope, a pendulum clock, an easel, various other tools and chisels. “It looked like somebody’s attic!” an American astronomer later remarked. And just like a cluttered attic, this corner of sky has been hiding something truly remarkable.
Astronomers have discovered a black hole in one of the constellations, the suitably named Telescopium. At just 1,000 light-years away, the black hole is closer to our solar system than any other that astronomers have found to date. A thousand light-years might sound distant to us, but in cosmic proportions, it’s very close. “On the scale of the Milky Way, it’s in our backyard,” Thomas Rivinius, an astronomer at the European Southern Observatory (ESO) in Chile who led the new research, told me. “Almost on our doorstep.” For comparison, consider some of the best-known black holes in astronomy, the ones usually intriguing enough to make headlines. The black hole at the center of our Milky Way galaxy is more than 25,000 light-years away, and the black hole that astronomers captured in unprecedented detail last year lies 55 million light-years away, in another galaxy altogether.
This one, by contrast, is so close that, on a clear night in the Southern Hemisphere, far from light pollution, the pair of stars that orbit the black hole can be seen with the naked eye. From here, the stars appear as a single pinprick of light. So, if this black hole is, at least in astronomical terms, right there, how has it eluded astronomers for so long? Well, there’s the obvious: Black holes are invisible. The way to find the darkest points in the universe is to look for luminous clues around them. Most of the black holes that astronomers have found in our galaxy—a few dozen—were spotted because they were devouring nearby stars, pulling material into their maws and past a point of no return. That process is so luminous that not only can black holes be detected from Earth, but they’re actually quite difficult to avoid. “Sometimes they become the brightest objects in the sky,” says Erin Kara, an astrophysicist at MIT who studies black holes and was not involved in the latest discovery. In fact, some black holes emit so much radiation while they feed that telescopes can’t look at them without frying their electronics, Kara says.
Don’t worry: Despite its proximity to Earth, the black hole is no danger to us. It’s a blip compared to the one at the center of our own galaxy, which has a mass 4 million times that of our sun. And, as far as humanity is concerned, it’s not close enough to pose any kind of threat. “One has to be very close to it to be sucked in,” Rivinius said. There are many more like it. Black holes are the by-products of aging stars that exploded in spectacular fashion at the end of their lifetime. Such supernovas can, briefly, outshine entire galaxies, but nearby, companion stars can survive the cataclysm, which explains why HR 6819 still exists. Astronomers estimate there are hundreds of millions of black holes in our galaxy. The latest discovery gives them hope that there are others lurking around nearby stars, perhaps even some of the most familiar points of light in our sky. “It’s important to emphasize that it’s the closest we’ve found yet,” says Sera Markoff, an astrophysicist at the University of Amsterdam and a member of the team that produced last year’s historic black-hole photo. “There might be closer ones.” –The Atlantic

Hey everyone, I just came from Twitter where I was trying to talk to two famous people, one writer and one actor. Maybe you have heard of them. David Roth a writer for Deadspin and SB Nation. The other, David Farrier the lead actor on Netflix show called Dark Tourist and a Hulu show called Tickled. Being semi celebrities they should be more caring and thoughtful to others feelings, but they go and attack eyewitnesses of UFO sightings trying to intimidate and embarrass...basically bullying those who claim to have seen UFOs. I do not tolerate those who bully others. Its horrible that those two social influencers are spreading such cruel and heartless messages to the public. The world is changing and the public is becoming more confident about coming out and telling the world their story of their UFO sighting. We must protect those can't protect themselves.
