Admiral Roscoe Hillenkoetter stated
“It is time for the truth to be brought out… Behind the scenes high-ranking Air Force officers are soberly concerned about the UFOs. But through official secrecy and ridicule, many citizens are led to believe the unknown flying objects are nonsense…. I urge immediate Congressional action to reduce the dangers from secrecy about unidentified flying objects._
Former CIA Director Vice Admiral Roscoe Hillenkoetter, signed statement to Congress, August 22, 1960. Admiral Hillenkoetter and NICAP pressed Congress to have a Congressional Investigation concerning UFOs.
Advance Flying Saucer probe concerning the craft are being researched by Homeland Secuity and intelligence.
Roscoe Henry Hillenkoetter (May 8, 1897 – June 18, 1982) was the third director of the post–World War II United States Central Intelligence Group (CIG), the third Director of Central Intelligence (DCI), and the first director of the Central Intelligence Agency created by the Nautical Security Act of 1947. He served as DCI and director of the CIG and the CIA from May 1, 1947, to October 7, 1950. His retirement from the US Navy came on 1 May 1957. Since his retirement, he was a member of the board of the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP) from 1957 to 1962.
From 1948 to 1950, Roscoe H. Hillenkoetter prepared weekly UFO sighting reports, of cases that he thought were the most essential for US Present Truman’s viewing, into physical Black Booklets. According to Majestic after Hillenkoetter’ s replacement as DCI, the Watch Commander assumed tracking the “Black Book” UFO events. The Watch Committee’s involvement in tracking auspicious activity is noted in the Wilson meeting 2002 notes that were leaked in 2017.

Hillenkoetter expressed doubt that the newly formed CIA (September 1947) could be effective at both covert action and intelligence analysis.[3] As DCI, Hillenkoetter was periodically called to testify before US Congress. One instance concerned the CIA’s first major Soviet intelligence failure, the failure to predict the Soviet atomic bomb test on August 29, 1949. Hillenkoetter imprecisely replied that the CIA knew it would take the Soviets approximately five years to build the bomb, but the CIA misjudged when they started. NICAP
After his retirement from the US Navy, Hillenkoetter was on National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena NICAP’s board of governors from about 1957 until 1962. Donald E. Keyhoe, NICAP director and Hillenkoetter’ s Naval Academy classmate, wrote that Hillenkoetter wanted public disclosure of UFO evidence.[ He did everything a retired officer can do to get the latest reports from the military and was a great help to NICAP in making them an important UFO organization. He was helpful in obtaining donations to pay important scientists to study the UFO problem.
Two years after Hillenkoetter’ s death, a Majestic Document surfaced in 1984. It listed Hillenkoetter’ s name as one of the Majestic 12 back in the year 1947. UFO enthusiasts of the early 1990s viewed Hillenkoetter with suspicion, as an MJ12 operative who probably steered. It ought to be noted that Hillenkoetter’ s best-known statement on the subject of UFOs, was in 1960 in a letter to Congress, as reported in NICAP and is on record as stating: “Unknown objects are operating under intelligent control. It is imperative that we learn where UFOs come from and what their purpose is.” He resigned from the NICAP Board in Feb 1962

WASHINGTON (Reuters)– The Pentagon’s new push to investigate reports of UFOs has so far not yielded any evidence to suggest that aliens have visited Earth or crash-landed here, senior military leaders said on Friday.
However, the Pentagon’s effort to investigate anomalous, unidentified objects — whether they are in space, the skies or even underwater — led to hundreds of new reports that are now being investigated, they say.
But so far, they have seen nothing that indicates intelligent alien life.
“I have not seen anything in those holdings to date that would suggest that there has been an alien visitation, an alien crash or anything like that,” said Ronald Moultrie, undersecretary of defense for intelligence and security.
Sean Kirkpatrick, director of the Pentagon’s newly formed All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), did not rule out the possibility of extraterrestrial life and said he was taking a scientific approach to the research.
Our Chapter has been studying UFOs for many years and we continue to have numerous AFA personnel who have seen them. Most of the military reports were not turned in because of the fear of not being promoted if it is on your records.

The purpose of this story treatment is to establish that I, Robert Shiepe is the discovery and creator of a new subliminal photography that makes it possible to find and record unknown, fast small moving objects. Tese unknown small drones were first recorded Feb. 2018; however, I do have video that goes back to 2015. This information is going to be electronically stored with the Writers Guild of America West Registry and the U.S. Patent office. They will be a custodian of this information. These small drone-like objects here and now will be referred to as ”Dragons” because their silhouette resembles that of a ‘dragon fly’. These dragons have been chased by many agencies, over 3000 sorties. These dragons are also being recorded by at least three ocean vessels and have been recorded in Marina del Rey and Venice beach. They are extremely hard to detect and recorded. My intellectual property has made this ”work product” videos possible. These copper / brass tone dragons are about 10 inch in diameter. Their speed is about 1300 mph , on the low estimate . When dragons fly, there is a plasma like discharge that looks like wings on a dragon fly. My guess is that they are using highly advance super-conductors that can tolerate extreme high volts . The army and police often chase these UAP / dragons to the jetty rocks in Marina del Rey. I think these dragons refuel with helium from the ocean, this is one reason why they can turn orange. Hot helium plasma is orange.
It is my hope that this new information / technology will motivate the young new students to become smarter scientist. This new discovery will be my legacy to humanity.

I live in Marina Del Rey, Los Angeles. In 2017 , I noticed some new unusual flying activity by the Army, Coast Guard and Police (LAPD choppers) . I have recorded and documented over 4000 videos. The authorities are now and have been chasing a uncatchable drone about 10 inch in diameter. These drones are invisible to the human eye but not to the camera. For obvious reasons this story is not yet in the news. I have personally given this information to the echelon of Aviation and the intelligence community and SETI and the Air Force. Helicopters and UAPs over Marina del Rey, California
Of course it is exactly hard to say why these UAP’sr are flying in Marina del Rey. ever since 1960 this area has been a hotspot for UFOs, especially on June 15 1992 there were over 100 UAP’s that came out of the ocean at night in front of thousands of witnesses in Malibu. I am also considering the possibility that these new UAP’s are flying in front of my camera and Marina del Rey because of my past research with UFO’s. these UAP’s tend to fly by whenever I ask them to when I am recording. It is my hope that with the help of many other professional researchers that we will find answers to this mystery. I am open to all questions regarding these UAP’s. Letter from Earth Guardian Susan Signal
I receive a series of letters from people who claim they are walk-ins from other planets. They often hold important positions on Earth and one ran a multi-million dollar company using some of his off planet inventions. Susan has memories’ that might interest you.
Susan writes, “My experiences started back in 1966-67, when I was 6-7 years old. I was sleeping when I had this dream of flying a ship, which entered the Earths’ solar system faster than the speed of light. We were in the third phase of reconversion from pure energy to solid form. As we entered the solar system, we bounced off of the planets gravitational fields of Neptune, Pluto and two other unnamed planets”.

As we flew passed the sun it looked like a solid rock due to our light speed. I was the navigator on far left hand side of the ship. As such, I was hyper sensitive to any subtle energy changes in the universe-even before they would occur. This was one of the mandatory requirements for navigation (svar-ari-erum) in our language. As we entered the Earths’ atmosphere, I was already awake and the rest of my “Nyindan-human” crew was still asleep. As we entered the atmosphere, a rift or black hole opened up.
Later on, in 1995 meeting of a local MUFON chapter, a Dr. Lee Sharguil of NASA gave a speech and spoke of a rift that opens up periodically over the 24-25 parallels and can engulf anything. This would explain our “black hole”. When this occurred, I yelled “Ectna, Ectna, shift the mass to the black hole-not away from it! Shift the mass to the black hole! Ectna, Ectna wake up!” As he woke, he didn’t hear me and shifted the mass away from the black hole. Before I could say “No you have to cancel the field vectors with the mass field, we’re still transient and can do this safely the black hole obliterated our ship. I woke up with a profuse sweat and my heart pounding my chest as I sat there actually cross-legged staring at the closet. I knew what this meant-that I was an alien incarnate that actual flew those UFOs.”
Due to the very nature of my dream and its implications, I knew I couldn’t tell my mom like any other child tells their mom because of her not believing in ‘spaceships’. So, I was alone on this one and had to sort it out on my own. This was only the beginning of self-re-discovery and a long bonding relationship with them. UFOs Seen Near Missing Hunters
Royal Canadian Police Letter explains to Ottawa police the Atharbaca Indians Scouts report space ships as Sasquatch Ships are abducting hunters in British Columbia.
Investigator David Paulides has focused his attention on compelling evidence that there is an unusual set of circumstances for many of the missing individuals that vanish in the wilderness. In the first half, he discussed his newest documentary (view trailer), demonstrating a link between UFOs and missing people. One connection involves the mysterious abduction and mutilation of animals. A witness from Washington state told him that he and a group of workers saw a UFO hover over an elk in a valley and then aerially lift it away. This was in an area where many animals suffer from chronic wasting disease (CWD). Subsequently, Paulides met with a group of Idaho hunters, in another area inundated by CWD. One of them saw a giant UFO hovering above the trees, and it turned out “that the location where this happened was just nine miles east from two cases we covered.
Paulides interviewed, a man now in his 90s, described seeing a humanoid just as he was firing on some elk back in the 1970s. He found himself on their ship, where he saw three elk almost frozen in motion. The humanoid told him that they regularly take animals, as well as things from the ocean. He was examined aboard the ship but then rejected because he’d had a vasectomy. The witness described being dropped from above onto a hill near where he was hunting. When the missing are returned or found, they may have injuries from a fall and missing clothing. Paulides speculated that the UFO occupants might be monitoring the environment. He also talked about portals, and a missing hiker at Mesa Verde National Park who was heard calling out for help but could never be found, even with rescue dogs.

Mountains Wilderness in California, got up early one morning and had a female bigfoot cross closely by her. In Ohio, an Indian tracker claimed Bigfoot tracks were found next to the landing area of a UFO. He followed the tracks to the rear of his own home and took photos of a Bigfoot watching him from the forest.
Macklin described his Global Enlightenment Project as a way for individuals to take their power back and counter what he characterized as a ‘Reptilian’ element (Anunnaki/Luciferians/Draconian) on the planet who seek to control humanity. Arcticians, a benevolent alien species, he claimed, will function to wipe out the Reptilian energy. According to Macklin, many people’s ailments and psychological problems are due to attachments of negative beings or energies.

Bruce Cornet met a hunter who was walking along a forested ridge when it became very dark and he saw a light ahead and walked into the light .and was in a jungle apparently he walked into some kind of portal. A voice stated I’ve got you and grabbed his shoulder, in terror he pulled away and backed up back into the forest. He felt he had been in some kind of portal and was lucky not to have been killed.

China’s secretive reusable space plane has released an object into orbit, according to tracking data from the U.S. Space Force. China carried out the second launch of its “reusable experimental spacecraft” from Jiuquan in the Gobi Desert atop a Long March 2F rocket Aug. 4, 2022.
The spacecraft has now been in orbit for five months. Two weeks ago the spacecraft claimed to a near-circular 597 by 608-kilometer orbit. I n a latest development the U.S. Space Force’s 18th Space Defense Squadron has tracked an object close to the spaceplane

The object—the nature of which is unknown—is likely in very close proximity to the spacecraft and thus only entered into the database once it could be discerned to be a separate, discrete object with a high level of confidence. Robert Christy of Orbital Focus notes that the release of the object could have taken place anytime between Oct. 24 and Oct. 31, performing station-keeping to remain close to the space place. China has not released any updates on the mission since a terse statement announcing the launch of the spacecraft. No images of the craft have been published. This is not the first time the spacecraft has ejected an object. Little is known about China’s space plane project.:

Red Jet 100 MPH winds makes unusual curve up to Northern Canada bring cold air to US
As the jet stream changes intensity and position, it affects the motion and strength of the Arctic air mass bringing it into the U/S.. That array, transmits RF waves that interact with the ionosphere and may affect the location of the jet stream pushing it further North to pick up freezing temperatures. The deadly winter storm knocks out power in 1.5 million homes. The cold air is the coldest and most powerful in a generation and the winds in the jet stream are reaching 200 mph over the North Atlantic.
The HAARP beam is broad like a flashlight’s, not narrow like a laser, but it can be electronically steered anywhere within 30° of zenith—that is, local vertical—and it can operate at 3–10 megawatts of power (MHz.) Its powerful radio waves drive ionospheric electrons back and forth in what are called plasma waves. As those driven electrons collide with each other and with background species, their temperature goes up, which is why HAARP is called a heater. Thanks to its frequency agility, the HAARP antenna can heat at specific altitudes where the transmission frequency simultaneously matches two resonances. 180 antennas are linked to function as one mega antenna aiming millions of watts of Extremely Low Frequency waves into one tiny patch of the atmosphere.
During a Senate hearing on May 20, 2014, David Walker, Deputy Secretary of the Air Force for science, technology and regarding HAARP in Alaska. Walker said,” This is not an area that we have any need for in the future” and it would not be a good use of Air Force research funds to keep HAARP going. “We’re moving on to other ways of managing the ionosphere, which the HAARP was really designed to do,” he said “To inject energy into the ionosphere to be able to actually control it But that work has been completed ”
U S Defense Secretary William Cohen in 2000, said,“ HAARP and weather control is not only possible, but has been and continues to be used as a “super weapon,” “Others [nations] are engaging even in an eco-type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves.
… There are plenty of ingenious minds out there that are at work finding ways in which they can wreck terror upon other nations. It’s real, and that’s the reason why we have to intensify our [counterterrorism] efforts ”
Many believe HAARP was created and has been used for weather control, by controlling the jet streams movement with enough juice to trigger cold weather across the US by directing the jet stream north into Alaska and Canada and then down into the US bringing Polar weather with it. Why build five HAARPs unless you are going to use them to change the jet streams normal patterns .
Climate engineering/geoengineering/weather warfare is mathematically the greatest and most immediate threat we face (short of nuclear cataclysm).
The Chinese Communists have developed at least five HAARP facilities, three in the Gobi Desert, one near Shanghai, and a similar facility on the Hainan Island in the South China Sea. China also likely mounted a HAARP facility on ships and are able to move to key locations and conduct geoengineering such as changing the course of the Jet Stream. Five known Extremely Low Frequency wave transmitters are operated by China. If they work together, they could alter the world’s weather by changing the jet stream’s route. That in turn have cause extreme cold, storms or droughts, or even steer hurricanes.
Brigadier General Robert Spalding shares how China took over while America’s Elite Slept, He was interviewed about his book,” Stealth War” that not all wars are violent. General Spalding told how Chinese Communist Party worked behind the scene to undermine the United States by co-opting our elite people and paying large sums of money to many like Hunter Biden. General Spalding lived in China and spoke Chinese for three years and assumed the duties of Special Assistant to the U.S. Air Force Vice Chief of Staff in February 2018. He states, “Daily the Communist propaganda media reminds the Chinese they are at war with the U.S. and everything should be done to destroy the U.S.”

The energy HAARP beams into the atmosphere heats up the ionosphere and pushes it out into space. This could indirectly affect the jet stream as the ionosphere is pushed into space, dragging the stratosphere below up and pulling the jet stream up as well, rerouting it by hundreds of miles. The result changes the way water moves through the atmosphere. Change weather patterns over large areas.
From 1987 through 1992, California experienced its worst-ever drought. Food prices went up as crops and livestock died. At the same time, the Soviet Union aimed ‘Woodpecker’, a similar program to HAARP, at North America. Scientists believed the problem was a mysteriously stalled high pressure system 800 miles off the coast of California, which was blocking the usual flow of moist Pacific air. Normally, the winds blow in an easterly direction. However, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) showed the winds were blowing in a westerly direction. That meant the jet stream was much weaker. The jet stream only returned to normal in 1995.

Pastoon November 1, 2022, I went out to the patio at 6 pm, and saw an object 30 meters away, I felt a lot of fear, it was traveling very slowly, so in the second video you can see how that object turns a bright red and rotate that wasn’t that high,. Nadiad on December 22, 2022, it was a triangle shaped UFO and also it wasn’t a comet as it wasn’t having a continuous trail it had breaks and it was a weird object having a dark color and bright and dark patches on the top.

Berlinon December 20, 2022, went to take a picture of the moon at 6 a m and came across this. Could not see this object with the naked eye. Was a big surprise to me. Looked to be over the Atlantic Ocean 4 miles south of Ocean City. Looked as close as I could but invisible unless threw camera lens.

Grass Lake on December 18, 2022, this occurred during living nativity show with 100 people did not see a triangle until Nikon camera takes 49 million meg pixels using AI software UNCLOAKS the ships with Pixio Photo Studio 2023 . I have no idea how, but it does. The sky was very dark and you could not see anything. This information has to be shared. I will be taking more images. I did the same effect to a friend’s Colorado UFO picture and wow more UFO’s showed up.

It was roughly 200 square feet. hovering for 30 seconds and it shot straight up 100 feet then took off super-fast in a diagonal direction then disappeared.

Hubble Saw a Ghostly Glow Around us That No One Can Explain
The Hubble Space Telescope has discovered a mysterious glow around the solar system that no one has been able to explain so far. The strange light was revealed during an analysis of the Hubble data, and it has nothing to do with the twinkling stars or even the moonlight. Although it’s mild and equivalent to the steady glow of ten fireflies spread across the entire sky, it does exist.
If you take away the light that results from the stars, planets, dust, and galaxies, the remaining light is hard to ignore. It’s like turning off all the lights in a closed dark room and still finding an unexpected glow there. But if there is light, there must be a source. So what exactly is its point of origin? Traditiegetrouw sluiten we het jaar af met een lijst van de mooiste ruimtefoto’s. Wat waren de allermooiste ruimtefoto’s van dit jaar? Ruim 900 bezoekers kozen de volgende tien foto’s.
Het zal geen verrassing zijn dat de lijst wordt gedomineerd door foto’s van de James Webb-telescoop. Deze telescoop opende eerder dit jaar zijn ogen en heeft inmiddels al veel fraaie kiekjes naar de aarde gestuurd. Slechts drie foto’s in deze top 10 zijn niet gemaakt door James Web…
We tellen in dit artikel terug van de nummer 10 naar de nummer 1. De hoger geplaatste foto’s hebben betere beoordelingen gekregen van de bezoekers en staan daarom hoger in de lijst.
#10 Zo zag je de zon nog niet eerder: gloednieuwe telescoop maakt spectaculaire foto van de chromosfeer
Wetenschappers gaven dit jaar een verbluffende foto vrij van onze eigen moederster. De beelden zijn vervaardigd met behulp van de ultramoderne Inouye-zonnetelescoop. En het is werkelijk een fantastische foto, die veel geheimen over onze zon onthult. “De telescoop zal de manier waarop we onze zon bestuderen en begrijpen voorgoed veranderen,” aldus NSF-directeur Sethuraman Panchanathan. Vind jij ook dat de chromosfeer van de zon wel een beetje lijkt op de harige vacht van een dier?
#9 James Webb ziet pasgeboren ster een hoop stennis schoppen
Vorige maand publiceerde de Amerikaanse ruimtevaartorganisatie deze prachtige foto, gemaakt door de James Webb-telescoop. Op de foto is een kleurrijke zandloper te herkennen. En precies in het midden, in de ‘hals’, houdt een pasgeboren ster zich op. Wat met name heel bijzonder is, is dat de vlammende oranje en blauwe wolken alleen zichtbaar zijn in infrarood licht. Daarom waren ze nog nooit gezien voordat ze werden vastgelegd door Webb’s Near-Infrared Camera (Nircam). Lees meer over deze foto in het nieuwsbericht op Scientias.nl.
De protoster L1527 is te zien in het midden van de prachtige, kleurrijke kosmische wolk. Weggeslingerd materiaal van de ster hebben geleid tot de vorming van holtes in de wolk, waardoor het stof op sommige plekken dikker en dunner is (op deze foto oranje en blauw gekleurd). #8 ESO-telescoop ziet machtige sterrenfabriek opdoemen in de ruimte
Ter ere van de zestigste verjaardag van ESO gaf de sterrenwacht dit jaar een indrukwekkend plaatje van de Kegelnevel vrij. En deze ‘sterrenfabriek’ schittert op de foto als nooit tevoren. De nevel bevindt zich op minder dan 2500 lichtjaar afstand en staat daarmee dus relatief dicht bij de aarde. Niet voor niets is de Kegelnevel dan ook een gewild onderzoeksobject en is al meerdere malen gefotografeerd. Toch is de nieuwe foto indrukwekkender dan alle voorgaande. Want vind je ook niet dat de donkere en ondoordringbare wolkenstructuur van de nevel ‘m op deze foto sterk doet lijken op een monsterachtig wezen?
Op deze foto, gemaakt met de FOcal Reducer and low dispersion Spectrograph 2 (FORS2) van ESO’s VLT in Chili, is waterstofgas weergegeven in blauw en zwavelgas in rood. Door het gebruik van deze filters lijken de anders heldere blauwe sterren, die een teken van recente stervorming zijn, bijna goudkleurig en steken ze als vonkjes tegen de donkere nevel af.

#7 Eén van de eerste foto’s van James Webb: NGC 3132
Op 2000 lichtjaar van de aarde vinden we een planetaire nevel, die in het Engels ook wel Eight-burst Nebula wordt genoemd. De nevel (een groeiende gaswolk rond een stervende ster) breidt zich momenteel uit met 14,5 kilometer per seconde. Webb geeft astronomen een schat aan nieuwe informatie over de samenstelling van planetaire nevels zoals NGC 3132. Uit wat voor moleculen is deze gigantische gaswolk bijvoorbeeld opgebouwd?
#6 James Webb-telescoop werpt een blik in het Karrenwielstelsel
Misschien heb je weleens van het Karrenwielstelsel gehoord; een sterrenstelsel te vinden op zo’n 500 miljoen lichtjaar afstand van de aarde. Het stelsel bevindt zich in het sterrenbeeld Beeldhouwer en staat met name bekend om zijn vrij eigenaardige vorm. Zoals de naam al doet vermoeden ziet het stelsel er namelijk uit als het wiel van een wagen; het resultaat van een immense botsing. Eerder dit jaar hebben onderzoekers met behulp van ruimtetelescoop James Webb het Karrenwielstelsel opnieuw gadegeslagen. En dat levert enkele interessante inzichten op.
Het Karrenwielstelsel: een groot roze, gespikkeld sterrenstelsel dat de vorm heeft van een wiel. Links zijn twee kleinere, spiraalvormige sterrenstelsels van ongeveer dezelfde grootte te zien, die sterk afsteken tegen de gitzwarte achtergrond.

#5 Nieuwe Hubble-foto van spiraalstelsel NGC 1961 is een lust voor het oog
Het duurt even, maar hier is dan de eerste Hubble-foto in de top 10. Dit is een schitterende foto van de spiraalarmen van sterrenstelsel NGC 1961. NGC 1961 is een AGN, oftewel een actieve galactische kern. AGN’s zijn extreem energetische objecten. Ze worden aangedreven worden superzware zwarte gaten. Deze zwarte gaten voeden zich met grote hoeveelheden kosmisch stof en gas. Voordat dit materiaal wordt opgeslokt, spiraalt het naar het zwarte gat en daarbij komen enorme hoeveelheden energie vrij. Daardoor straalt een actieve kern vaak feller dan alle sterren in het omringende sterrenstelsel bij elkaar. Sterker nog, ze kunnen zelfs feller schijnen dan supernovae!
#4 Webb tuurt in buitenaardse kraamkamer en ziet wat voorheen onzichtbaar was
Eén van de eerste opnamen die de krachtige James Webb-telescoop maakte, was van de verbluffende Cosmic Cliffs in de Carinanevel. Dit is een gebied aan de rand van een gigantische, gasvormige holte in de sterrenhoop NGC 3324. De nevel is een bekende kraamkamer, die al eerder door Hubble is gefotografeerd. Maar dankzij Webbs scherpe infraroodblik, kan deze telescoop voor het eerst door de dichte stof- en gaswolken heen turen. En dat heeft geleid tot de ontdekking van veel meer fijne details over hoe sterren het levenslicht zien.
#3 James Webb maakt fantastische opnames van Tarantulanevel
Met behulp van de instrumenten aan boord van deze krachtige ruimtetelescoop worden in deze goed bestudeerde nevel nog nooit eerder waargenomen details zichtbaar, waaronder tienduizenden voorheen onzichtbare sterren. Door de ongekende resolutie op nabij-infrarode golflengtes kan NIRCam die sterren – ondanks dat ze nog altijd in stof verstopt zitten – toch spotten. Op de opname zijn deze sterren rood van kleur. Daarnaast zie je ook heel wat blauwe puntjes op de foto. Deze markeren de meest actieve delen van de stervormende nevel, die wemelen van de zware, piepjonge sterren.

#2 James Webb en Hubble slaan de handen ineen en leveren prachtige foto af
Ruimtetelescopen James Webb en Hubble hebben samen een werkelijk prachtig plaatje afgeleverd. Het gaat om een foto van Messier 74, een spiraalvormig sterrenstelsel dat zich op zo’n 32 miljoen lichtjaar afstand in het sterrenbeeld Vissen bevindt. “De nieuwe beelden van Messier 74 tonen de kracht van ruimteobservatoria die samenwerken op meerdere golflengten,” zo schrijft ESA. Aanschouw het spiraalvormige sterrenstelsel Messier 74 zoals je ‘m nog nooit eerder hebt gezien.

#1 Gloednieuwe foto van wereldberoemde Arendnevel jaagt kijkers de stuipen op het lijf
Met een gemiddelde beoordeling van een 9 (!!) is de Arendnevel de favoriete ruimtefoto van het jaar volgens de bezoekers van Scientias.nl. Deze nevel bevindt zich op zo’n 6500 lichtjaar afstand en is natuurlijk vooral bekend om de gaszuilen. Deze stelen al decennia de show. Is het niet op Scientias.nl, dan wel op tv, in de film (intro van ‘Contact’) of in een tijdschrift. De foto werd namelijk in korte tijd wereldberoemd. En dat is niet zo gek: de Arendnevel met zijn stoffige pilaren is prachtig.

The name Lacedaemon is derived from the verb, λαγχάνω (lachano), to assign somebody something by lot, and δαίμων (daemon), which means God in ancient Greek. Lacedaemon therefore denotes the divine lot, a piece of the world given to the God Poseidon, according to Plato, who identifies Lacedaemon with Atlantis.
I consider it worthwile to mention a remark by J. Spanuth in his book, ‘ Atlantis: Heimat, Reich and Schicksal der Germanen ’, (Tuebingen 1965), that Atlantis is “the oldest, most disputed, most hazardous and clearly most thankless, but still the most rewarding and most intriguing matter that Antiquity has bequeathed to us”.
There is a vast bibliography about Atlantis, but the modern scholarship concluded that to locate Atlantis and to prove the validity of its identification, four points of agreement must be met and generally accepted. (See E.Bloedow. ‘ Fire and Flood from Heaven: Was Atlantis at Troy ?’ La Parola del Passato 48, 1993, pp.109-160.
Atlantis was an island.
It lay beyond the “Pillars of Hercules”.
It was larger than Asia and Libya together.
Its destruction (sinking) produced a barrier of impassable mud.
These four prerequisites are completely fulfilled in the case of Lacedaemon.
The name, features, and location of Lacedaemon have been hotly debated from Antiquity to modern times. Lacedaemon was mentioned for the first time in the second Book of Iliad, in the so-called Catalogue of the Ships, verse 581, as the first city of the Kingdom of Menelaos in Lakonia – “Οι δ’ είχον κοίλην Λακεδαίμονα κητώεσσαν” (‘E de ichon kili Lacedaemon kitoesan’). Κοίλη (‘kili’) and κητώεσσα (‘kitoesan’) are the two traditional epithets steadily connected with Lacedaemon. ‘Κili’ means hollow, everybody agrees on that, but the epithet ‘kitoesan’ has been variously interpreted. It might refer either to its geological formation and identity – that it is full of ravines and subterranean caustic splits – or to its island nature, in this case abounded with κήτη (‘kiti’), sea monsters or big fish (dolphins, turtles, whales, seals etc.).

Taking for granted that in northern Lakonia there once existed a huge lake from the Pleiocene period, measuring 35 square kilometres, the epithet ‘kitoesan’ may well fit the geology of the site of Lacedaemon. The lake is now dry and contains big deposits of lignite layers, similar to those in the adjacent plain of Megalopolis. The date of dessication or draining of the lake in the area of mount Taygetos is of paramount importance for the history of Lacedaemon, its identity, and identification with Atlantis.
Plato, in Timaeus and Critias, describes Atlantis as an island in what he calls a ‘Pontos’, a word meaning Sea or Sea-lake (Timaius 24E Critias 113-114 B). The other geological and geographical coordinate of the area is the Πέλαγος (‘Pelagos’), erroneously interpreted by Atlantologists as ‘Ocean’. Pelagos in Greek signifies a large and extensive area, such as the Aegean Pelagos or the Ionian Pelagos. Pontos was the huge lake of Lacedaemon, Pelagos was the large and navigable river Eurotas.
The inhabitants of Atlantis, known by various names, like Hyperboreans, Phaeakes, Phoinikes, Atlantes, Minyans etc, were thought to live in a remote area, safe in their natural environment, reluctant to be visited by other people. There they lived a whole millenium, eternally young, and they were beloved to the Gods. Tyndareos, the father of Helen and the divine Twins Kastor and Polydeukes lived where Lakonia ended, very close to Arcadia - “εν τοις εσχάτοις της Λακεδαιμονίας” (‘En tis eshatis tis Lacedaemonias’).
We have reasons to suppose that the area of the lake was covered by small islands, some natural, others artificial, founded upon wooden tree trunks, taken from the densely forested mount Taygetos, an activity described by Plato in reference with the works of the Atlantians in the main island in the Pontos. The work and the plan may be paralleled with the miraculous achievements of the Venetians in the large Lagoon in the Adriatic. This “Civitas Serenissima” was built entirely upon wooden trunks and was composed of numerous islands, constructed densely to each other.
The city of Venice was built on wooden foundations.
Plato himself speaks of other islands, besides Atlantis, in the same Pontos. Atlantis lay at the eastern fringes of the sea, near the exit of the river, beyond the Pillars of Hercules and was surrounded by islands, which were approached from Atlantis both by sea and land (Timaeus: “εξ ης επιβατόν επί τας άλλας νήσους τοις τότε εγένετο πορευομένοις”). Plato seems to know well not only the geophysical conditions of the area of Lacedaemon, he also knew the geography of the island group and most probably the names of the islands, at least of some of them.
Taking that into consideration, we may come to the solution of the most difficult of the Platonic references to Atlantis, which is described by Plato as being larger than Asia and Libya together. What was known as ‘Asia’ and ‘Libya’ at the time were small islands in the lake of Lacedaemon, and we know that Asia and Libya were Laconian toponymics (see my book LACEDAEMON, volume II, p. 399 ff).
Accordingly, we fix one of the four points of agreement posed by Atlantologists. Plato’s trustworthines is strengthened by the reference in ‘The Odyssey’ that Ithaca, the original homeland of Odysseus, lay in a similar landscape. It is described as “χθαμαλή εν αλί, πανυπερτάτη προς ζόφον”, i.e. hollow and the most remote to North-West, though many other islands that were close to each other, lay to the East and South (“νήσοι πολλαί, μάλα σχεδόν αλλήλησιν”, Odyssey, book 9, 22-3).

Odysseus, the Argonaut, was at home in Lacedaemon, where he acquired the famous composite-bow of Iphitos and it was not a mere coincidence that his descendant Telemachos came to Lacedaemon many years or centuries thereafter to visit Menelaos and Helen in order to be informed about his farther’s return to Ithaca.

Archaeology may be the discovery of and research of things that happened long ago, but it is an ever-changing field. Every year new discoveries are made that either teach us something new or show us what we thought we knew was wrong. 2022 was no different, it was a year full of exciting discoveries. From a close-up inside look at an Egyptian pharaoh’s coffin to a 9,000-year-old shrine found in Jordan, 2022 was a great year to be a history fan. As we prepare to move into next year let’s take a look at 10 of the most exciting archaeological discoveries of 2022.

Historically we haven’t always been great at looking after or showing respect to important archaeological discoveries. A disturbing example of this is Egyptian mummies. Rather than being treated with the respect and reverence, a body deserves, all too often mummies have been treated as novelties.
The Victorians went as far as throwing exclusive mummy unwrapping parties . Sadly this has left modern historians and archaeologists with precious few royal mummies that have not been unwrapped and damaged.
Which “Lost Culture” Created This 2,000-Year-Old Tomb?
Thankfully the mummy of Amenhotep I, which was first discovered in 1881, was never unwrapped because it was believed to be too beautiful to destroy. For over a hundred years, Egyptologists have been desperate to take a look at the face of Amenhotep. This year, thanks to the use of noninvasive CT scans, they finally got to see inside Amenhotep’s mummy.
The team based at the University of Cairo was struck by how much the mummy resembled his father, Ahmose. The CT scans used allowed the team to see what Amenhotep had looked like when alive, rather than just a desiccated piece of meat.
Amenhotep was originally found in a cache of mummies that had been collected, rewrapped, and reinterred in the 21st Dynasty after tomb robbers had damaged them. The scans show just how badly Amenhotep had been damaged and how much care the 21st Dynasty priests had taken in repairing his mummy.
His neck had been broken when looters had torn off a necklace and the priests carefully reattached his head with a resin-treated linen band. They also repaired his broken left arm, covered a hole in his stomach, and added new gold amulets.
For a long time, it had been believed that these priests uncovered and rewrapped old royal mummies so as to be able to rob them. The scans show the opposite is true. The priests not only treated these royal mummies with the utmost respect but even added new valuables to the old mummies in a show of veneration.
Antarctic explorer Earnest Shackleton’s long lost Endurance shipwreck, which sank in 1915, has finally been found at a depth of 10,000 feet or 3050 meters off the coast of the icy continent.

Few archaeological discoveries grab headlines like the discovery of a long-lost shipwreck. 2022 was the year that the long-lost ship of the legendary explorer Ernest Shackleton, the Endurance, was discovered.
The ship first sank off the coast of Antarctica in 1915. Shackleton had hoped to make the first land crossing of Antarctica but his plans were scuppered when his ship became stuck in a dense pack of ice. He and his crew of 28 were left with no choice but to abandon their ship. For the next several months they camped on ice floes which carried them northward until they finally reached the uninhabited Elephant Island.
From there Shackleton and some of his men traveled another 800 miles until they reached the island of South Georgia where they finally found help and managed to rescue the rest of their crew.
Of course, by this time the Endurance, a 144-foot-long, three-masted ship, had run out of endurance and sunk. Over the last century there have been numerous attempts to find it, but the same ice that sank it doomed any attempts. However this year thanks to historically low ice levels, the members of Endurance 22 (a team of devoted historians and underwater explorers) finally managed to find it.
Using a remotely operated submarine the Endurance was found 10,000 feet underwater, around 4.6 miles south of its last estimated position. It turns out the ship is in remarkably good shape, thanks to the frigid sea’s lack of wood-eating parasites. Sadly, it has been deemed unsalvageable as the ship is completely flooded with water. Still, the team’s work is a fascinating look into a long thought lost piece of history.

So this next discovery is technically more paleontology than archaeology, but it’s still one of the most interesting discoveries of the year. When you think of British wildlife the biggest thing that comes to mind is perhaps the red deer. And the most dangerous thing that comes to mind might be a particularly grumpy badger.
It turns out that not that long ago British wildlife was a bit more exotic. During the construction of new houses in Sherford, near Plymouth, some rather peculiar bones were found in a previously undiscovered cave. A team of archaeologists, led by Rob Bourn, was brought in.
They discovered the bones of mammoths, woolly rhinoceros, and hyenas in a cave that had been uncovered during construction. The bones date back to around 60,000 to 30,000 years ago during the middle of the last ice age. While ice age fossils aren’t a particularly rare discovery in the United Kingdom, finding so many in one cave is a much rarer occurrence. A petition is now being held to try and protect the site to make sure the cave isn’t sealed and houses built on top of it.
These ancient Iraq carvings dating to the Assyrian Empire were unearthed near the Mashki Gate in Mosul, escaping destruction by IS in 2016.
Tragically over the last few years, the terrorist group ISIS has made a concerted effort to destroy as many archaeological artifacts as they can across the Middle East. Museums have been raided and monuments that survived millennia have been looted and destroyed. While the group has claimed they seek to destroy anything they consider to be harem or immoral, the truth is they have been selling much of what they looted on the black market to fund their war.
Two of the ancient monuments destroyed by ISIS were the Mashki and Adad gates at the ancient site of Nineveh in Iraq. The site dates back over 4000 years and at its height was the capital of the Neo-Assyrian Empire. The gates were iconic and their destruction was a tragedy.
Happily, there is a sliver of a silver lining. Archaeologists digging through the ruins of one of the gates found a sealed door that hadn’t been opened for over two and a half thousand years. Inside they found stunning artworks that date back to roughly 700 BC. It is believed the seven carved stone panels depict the Assyrian king of the time’s various military campaigns.
5. The Discovery of Queen Neith’s Tomb in Egypt
Back to Egypt for another Royal discovery. Ancient Egypt may be one of the most widely studied periods in human history but what many people don’t realize is that we still have huge gaps in our knowledge when it comes to Ancient Egypt. Ancient Egyptian civilization lasted for over 3,000 years and there are huge chunks of time where we have blanks.
In November of 2022, the tomb of Queen Neith was found at the ancient necropolis of Saqqara. A previously unearthed pyramid was discovered which held 300 coffins and 100 mummies as well as a series of interconnected tunnels. What made the discovery so exciting was archaeologists had no idea who Neith was when she was unearthed.
They soon discovered her name was Neith and that she was completely missing from the historical record. As Zahi Hawass, an Egyptologist working at the site put it, "It is amazing to literally rewrite what we know of history, adding a new queen to our records."

Not all exciting archaeological discoveries have to be earth-shattering or rewrite the history books like the discovery of Neith did. Sometimes they just give us an interesting glimpse into the lives of our ancestors.
Back in 1897 archaeologists found hundreds of artifacts in a richly furnished burial ground in Russia known as Maikop kurgan. The site dates back to 3500 BC and amongst the artifacts found were ceramic vessels, metal cups, weapons, jewelry, semi-precious stones, and gold.
The strangest things found were hollow eight gold and silver tubes that measured 3.7 feet long. Historians were stumped and decided they were either scepters or poles used to hold up canopies. In 2022 their true purpose was discovered.
Russian archaeologist Viktor Trifonov had long suspected the tubes had had a different use. He believed they were communal drinking straws like the ones depicted in some Mesopotamian artwork. To find out if he was right he analyzed residue that was left on the tubes’ silver tips.
He discovered traces of barley starch granules, fossilized plant tissue, and pollen grain from a lime tree. These traces all suggest that the tubes were used to drink barley beer. While Trifonov’s discovery may not have made it into the papers it is an important reminder of just how wrong archaeologists sometimes get things. These 8 tubes went from being glorified tent poles to evidence of a Mesopotamian drinking tradition all thanks to the hard work of one determined archaeologist.

Not all archaeological discoveries are as pleasant as discovering ancient drinking straws. In 2022 researchers working in a digital 15 miles (24km) east of Peru’s capital, Lima, made a rather macabre discovery.
They were excavating the grave of a high-ranking pre-Inca noble or wealthy merchant dating back 1000-1200 years ago when they found the mummified remains of eight children all swathed in cloth. The team’s leader, Pieter Van Dalen, believes the children were likely close relatives of the grave's owner.
It is believed that they were sacrificed so that they could accompany him to the underworld. This was a common part of funeral rituals for elite individuals in pre-Inca cultures as Andine societies saw death as a beginning rather than a passing.
The discovery just outside of Lima backs up previous archaeological discoveries in the area regarding the pre-Inca sacrifice of children. In 2018 a team of international archaeologists uncovered the remains of 140 young people at a site near Trujillo dating back 550 years.
Buddhism is believed to have been founded in Northern India at some point between the late sixth and early fourth centuries BC. In 2022 in the Northwestern part of northwest Pakistan known as Greater Gandhara a Buddhist temple dating back to the second century BC was found.
The temple, found in the city of Barikot, was found by Luca Maria Olivieri and his team from the ISMEO (International Association of Mediterranean and Oriental Studies). It is the oldest known Buddhist temple in the region and one of the oldest in the world.
Before the unearthing of the temple, no evidence of a Buddhist presence in Barikot had been found before the end of the first century AD. Olivieri and his team didn’t expect to find a temple in the area that dated back to such an early era.
Its discovery indicates that when the temple was built Barikot was a center of Buddhist teaching and a sacred pilgrimage site as early as the second century BC, much earlier than historians had thought. Archaeologists had already known that Barikot had been of strategic importance, being at the nexus of various major expansions such as the Persian Achaemenid Empire and Alexander the Great but this discovery shows Barikot “Barikot had its importance for Buddhist communities.”
We all love a good story. Here is one that dates back over 11,000 years. In 2022 two benches were found at excavations in Sayburc, a village in South Eastern Turkey. While the discovery of two benches may not be particularly exciting, what was carved into them is.
The benches feature two carved scenes that depict people interacting with animals. One shows a man flanked by leopards and holding his penis while the other shows a man squatting and shaking a rattle at a bull.
The fact that these two benches are neolithic, dating back 11,000 years, makes them the first known examples of a holistic scene. In short, they may well be the oldest narrative ever discovered. Researchers believe the scenes might depict either historical characters or mythical figures that were an important part of this particular neolithic group's beliefs and traditions.
As the dig and research into the site continues it is hoped more important insights into the traditions of these neolithic people will be discovered.

2022 saw another important Neolithic discovery, this one dating back around 9000 years and originating in the deserts of Southeastern Jordan. Mohammad Tarawneh and his team of archaeologists from Al-Hussein Bin Talal University and Wael Abu-Azizeh of the French Institute found a stone shrine believed to be the earliest ritual structure ever unearthed.
The shrine was found at a Neolithic campsite near a network of “desert kites”. These are pairs of rock walls that crisscross the desert. The shrine is a scale model of one of the desert kites. Along with the shrine a large stone altar was also unearthed. It is believed the altar was used for the butchering of gazelle as a part of rituals held at the shrine. The team believes rituals were held to invoke the aid of supernatural forces in future hunts.
Much like the discovery of the benches in Turkey researchers hope further research would give us a better insight into the beliefs and practices of these Neolithic hunters.
Conclusion
2022 was a year full of exciting archaeological discoveries and picking only 10 was a tough task. All over the world thousands of teams of archaeologists are hard at work, unearthing discoveries that continue to shape our understanding of human history.
We must recognize and support their work. For hundreds of years, many of these important historical sites didn’t receive the respect or protection they deserved. Thankfully this is changing and the 21st century is a great time to be interested in ancient history. Who knows what discoveries 2023 will bring?

Slechts één melding in aanmerking
Nog opvallend: ondanks de inspanningen van het meldpunt om door middel van een ifo (Identified Flying Object) databank eigen waarnemingen zelf te identificeren, blijven er zeer eenvoudige tussen zitten. “De meeste video’s en foto’s konden we vrij eenvoudig verklaren”, zegt Frederick Delaere, coördinator van het Belgisch ufo-meldpunt. “Slechts één melding uit 2022 kwam in aanmerking voor opname in de rubriek ‘markante meldingen’.”
Het gaat om een soort zwevende buis die een man uit Genk vanuit zijn appartement opmerkte. Eigenlijk het enige verschijnsel dat nog een beetje aan de vliegende sigaren en driehoeken uit de jaren tachtig doet denken.
Op 21 april was de reflectie van zonlicht op de uitgestoten gassen van een raketmotor goed voor 22 meldingen. Net als vorig jaar zorgde het zelfgebouwd driehoekig privévliegtuigje van Bart Verhees weer voor twee valse meldingen. De grappigste melding kwam vanuit Herselt, waar een dame een ufo “met twee grote uitstulpingen zag vliegen”. Bij nazicht bleek de Funny Bunny, de konijnvormige luchtballon van Rabbit Ballooning Team uit Olen, in de buurt gepasseerd.
De geografische spreiding: in de provincies Antwerpen en Oost-Vlaanderen zagen ze de meeste ufo’s.

Mevr. K.B. uit Westerlo had het fenomeen met haar smartphone weten te filmen. Het begintijdstip van de opname bleek 22:53:58 te zijn. Op dat moment zette een Boeing 757 van het koeriersbedrijf DHL, vliegend van Toulouse naar Brussel, een bocht in voor de landing op Zaventem. (vliegtuig)
Vanuit haar auto filmde Mej. D.L. een “witte vlek met twee uitstulpingen” die “redelijk snel” naar het westen vloog. Het betrof de Funny Bunny ballon van het Rabbits Ballooning Team uit Olen. De ballon, in de vorm van een konijn, was die namiddag opgestegen in het centrum van Geel en vervolgens richting Zammel gedreven waar hij uiteindelijk landde. (heteluchtballon)

Het is niet duidelijk wat de oorsprong is geweest van deze stationaire wolkensliert die in de avond van 18 april werd gefotografeerd vanuit Beveren. Op een rookpluim, zoals die soms te zien is boven een brandhaard of een hoge schoorsteen, lijkt deze wolk niet. Er werd die avond ook nergens een brand gemeld. Een paasvuur op deze paasmaandag leek een optie, maar hoewel die in Nederland erg populair zijn, vonden we geen spoor van zulke festiviteiten in de omgeving van de waarnemingsplaats.
De ‘rookwolk’ lijkt daarvoor ook te hoog te zitten. Een stationaire windhoos is uitgesloten. Het laatste stadium van een zogeheten hoefijzerwolk is dan weer onwaarschijnlijk omdat deze wolkenflarden meestal erg beweeglijk zijn en cumulusbewolking vereisen. Ook brandstoflozing annex verbranding van een straaljager werd onderzocht maar er waren geen militaire vluchten. De meest waarschijnlijke verklaring is een condensspoor dat in tegenlicht werd gefotografeerd.

Scientists may have glimpsed some of the oldest material in the universe.
According to a new,yet-to-be-peer-reviewed study, researchers found an unidentified object nearly 13.5 billion light years away. That's almost the age of the universe itself, Live Science points out, meaning the object, dubbed HD1 and which is likely a particularly distant galaxy, represents some of the most ancient stuff out there.
Dr. Avi Loeb, the same Harvard professor who set out to capture high-res footage of UFOs, worked on the study and told Live Science that the object could reveal a lot about early-universe objects and events.
"The first galaxies formed about a hundred million years after the Big Bang," Loeb told the site. "They were a millionth of the mass of the Milky Way and much denser. One way to think of them is as the building blocks in the construction project of present-day galaxies, like our own Milky Way."
Big Mystery
The scientists aren't quite ready to say exactly what the object is, how old it is, or if it even is a galaxy for sure. In fact, others say there's a chance, although small, that HD1 could be a giant black hole. Future observations are likely to clarify those questions, fortunately.
"If HD1 is a black hole, we should see X-ray emission from it," Loeb told Live Science. "If we do not find X-rays, the emission must originate from massive stars."
Luckily, there's a hardworking new asset we can count on to deliver the goods on the new discovery. According to Live Science, researchers hope to get images and details about HD1 from none other than NASA's largest and most powerful new telescope — the James Webb Space Telescope.

The name Bob Lazar is well-known to many people.
Lazar claimed to have been a physicist at S4 between 1988 and 1989. S4 was allegedly near Groom Dry Lake, Nevada, southwest of top-secret Area 51.
Reverse engineering is used to study and learn more about extraterrestrial spacecraft or flying saucers at S4, claims Lazar. Lazar, who has a wealth of knowledge on the propulsion system and other technical details of a disc-shaped spaceship he refers to as the sport model, claims to have observed nine different extraterrestrial ships there.
Lazar’s credibility was called into question when it was discovered that “schools he was said to have attended had no record of him, while others in the scientific community had no remembrance of ever meeting him.” Lazar’s supporters contend that his credentials and history were compromised in order to bring up the specific credibility difficulties that his opponents have brought up.
What about element 15, also known as ununpentium?
According to Bob Lazar, the under investigation automobiles used nuclear fuel made from atomic element 115. It was claimed that element 115, also known as “ununpentium” (symbol Uup), provided both an anti-gravity energy source and antimatter for the creation of energy during proton bombardment.
The resultant large-scale gravitational impact would be a distortion or warp of space-time, decreasing the distance and travel time to a destination since the nucleus of Element 115 has an extremely powerful nuclear force field.
The existence of this synthetic element was confirmed by experts during a recent accelerator experiment. Will it be sufficient to officially recognize ununpentium and give it a new name?
Now, a fresh set of tests supports the discovery of one of those elements. An multinational team of scientists produced an element using 115 protons in Germany’s GSI accelerator. The element, known as ununpentium (Latin for one-one-five plus “-ium”), has been produced by research teams before.
Initially developed in the early 2000s by a group of Russian and American scientists, ununpentium was the subject of a research on it in 2006. Ununpentium was not at the time formally recognized or given a name by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), who did not consider that data satisfactory. The most recent GSI investigations represent yet another positive development.
Why don’t we state that somebody “found” ununpentium instead of “synthesized” or “made” it? Like other super-heavy elements, ununpentium can only be created through human research. It is entirely synthetic (ununpentium: elements; polyester; fabrics?).
No laboratory can produce it either. Uranium is the heaviest element that occurs naturally on Earth and contains 92 protons. Atoms heavier than uranium can only be produced by fusion processes, nuclear reactions, or other highly specialized chemistry. In the past, the GSI accelerator has created six artificial elements with more protons than uranium.
Americium, a synthetic element with 95 protons, was attacked with calcium ions, each of which has 20 protons, by a team of researchers at GSI to produce ununpentium. The americium and calcium atom nuclei are joined by the bombardment to produce a new 115-proton nucleus. (For an instructive GIF, visit the “new components” webpage at GSI.) Like other artificial super-heavy elements, ununpentium decays quickly. For the 2006 announcement, scientists created ununpentium atoms that barely lasted 30 to 80 milliseconds.
According to Lund University in Sweden, IUPAC members will now evaluate the recent confirmation of the 2006 work to determine whether it is adequate to justify formal recognition for ununpentium. Researchers from Lund were in charge of the most recent ununpentium testing at GSI. In the meanwhile, Physical Review Letters has published the results of the Lund team.
The United States’ Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory claims that research on synthetic elements not only supports interesting chemical theories, but also advances knowledge of the fission process in general. On the other hand, ununpentium is unlikely to be found in even the most cutting-edge future technology. Up until now, scientists have only found practical uses for artificial atoms with 100 or fewer protons.
Although it has always been theoretically possible to create several of these elements that do not occur in nature, doing so in the lab only tells us anything about fusion at this time. Of course, nothing about this discovery confirms Bob Lazar’s outlandish dreams. UFOs are not mentioned.

A comet zooming through the solar system could soon be visible to the naked eye from Earth in what will be a once-in-a-lifetime event. And some astronomical predictions indicate that the object may never return to our cosmic neighborhood.
C/2022 E3 (ZTF) is currently located around 100 million miles away from Earth and will make a close approach to our planet in early February 2023.
Comets are "cosmic snowballs" made up of frozen gases, dust and rock that orbit the sun. As they approach our star, these objects are blasted with increasing amounts of radiation, releasing gases and debris. This process forms a glowing atmosphere around the comet (known as a coma) and two vast tails of gas and dust.
Based on how the comet is currently moving, astronomers estimate that it will come within roughly 26 million miles of Earth on February 1, data fromNASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) Solar System Dynamics group shows. This is equivalent to more than 109 times the average distance between the Earth and the moon.

As with all comets, C/2022 E3 (ZTF) moves much faster when it is closer to the sun and decelerates as it speeds away again. By the time of its closest approach to Earth in February, the comet will be traveling at a speed of around 128,000 miles per hour relative to our planet, the JPL data shows.
As C/2022 E3 (ZTF) approaches the Earth, it may become visible to the naked eye as soon as the second half of January under very good conditions, Robert Massey, deputy executive director of the U.K. Royal Astronomical Society, told Newsweek.
Current estimates indicate that the comet is expected to reach at least magnitude +6—roughly the limit that the human eye can see—or perhaps even slightly brighter by around the time of its close approach to Earth.
"The current prediction is that the comet will reach magnitude +5 around the start of February," Massey said. "So far, the observed brightness is in line with that model."
But it is "notoriously hard" to predict the brightness of comets and it is possible that it might not be visible at all or appear more prominently in the sky than expected, Tania de Sales Marques, an astronomer at the Royal Observatory Greenwich in the United Kingdom, told Newsweek.
If current brightness predictions are correct, C/2022 E3 (ZTF) will be the first naked eye comet since NEOWISE put on a spectacular show in 2020, although astronomers expect it to be less impressive.
Once this comet has passed by the Earth, it will travel away from the sun and inner solar system. What happens next though is something of a mystery due to uncertainties regarding its future trajectory.
"We don't have an estimate for the furthest it will get from the Earth yet—estimates vary—but if it does return it won't be for at least 50,000 years," Jessica Lee, an astronomer at Royal Observatory Greenwich, told Newsweek.
Some data indicates that the comet appears to be on a hyperbolic orbit—essentially an open one—meaning it might never return to the inner solar system, Massey said. The shape of the comet's orbit looks like a very open curve.
"Some predictions suggest that the orbit of this comet is so eccentric it's no longer in an orbit—so it's not going to return at all and will just keep going," Lee said.
While astronomers only discovered C/2022 E3 (ZTF) this year, the object would have formed with the rest of the solar solar system around 4.6 billion years ago, she said.
Given that C/2022 E3 (ZTF) is a long-period comet—those with orbital periods of more than 200 years—Massey said it likely originated in the Oort Cloud, the most distant region of our solar system.
This Oort Cloud is a vast, spherical shell of icy bodies believed to encircle the solar system that may contain billions or perhaps even trillions of objects. This region is thought to extend from between 300 billion kilometers (around 186 million miles) and 15 trillion kilometers (around 9 trillion miles) away from the sun, according to some estimates.
These estimates indicate that the Oort Cloud lies in interstellar space. The region is only loosely bound to our solar system, with its outer edge marking the extent of the sun's gravitational influence. The cloud is thought to be a remnant of material leftover from the formation of the solar system.
Scientists have yet to observe an object in the Oort Cloud itself, so for now it remains a theory. But this region—which is far enough from the sun to be cold enough for ice to remain solid—is thought to be the source of many long-period comets that pass through the inner solar system.
Every now and then, objects in the Oort Cloud are disturbed—perhaps by the gravitational influence of passing stars—sending them hurtling toward the sun.
Most hyperbolic comets will only travel through the solar system once before being slingshotted out by the sun unless something alters its orbit. As a result, most known long-period comets have only been seen once in history given their extremely long orbital periods. Countless others have never been seen by humans at all.
C/2022 E3 (ZTF) was first spotted by the Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF)—an astronomical survey conducted by the Palomar Observatory in California—on March 2, 2022. The facility surveys the entire sky every three nights, using a wide field of view camera installed on a 48-inch telescope.
"By comparing images of the same part of the night sky taken on different nights, you can see changes or new objects," Lee said. "To identify an object as a comet they would have looked at its appearance, location and how it was moving."
Astronomers at the facility are aided in this effort by a deep-learning algorithm that helps to identify objects with comet-like tails in image data.
There is currently no accurate size estimate for C/2022 E3 (ZTF) because it is newly discovered and still distant, meaning it is not reflecting much light. The coma and tail of the comet surround it, making it difficult to accurately observe the body itself.
"It is made hard by the fact that the nucleus is concealed by the outgassing material making up the comet tails," Massey said. "My guess is someone is working on [a size estimate]."
The comet will likely fade below naked eye visibility—if it ever reaches this point—by the second week of February next year. C/2022 E3 (ZTF) is currently visible with good binoculars or a telescope in the early hours of the morning before dawn. But by April it will be close to the sun in the sky and significantly fainter, so will be very hard to find even with this equipment.

Maser emissioпs, “cosmic lasers” from iпterstellar aпd circυmstellar mediυm, are prodυced by the amplificatioп of stimυlated emissioпs. Bright aпd compact maser soυrces are good targets for high-accυracy astrometry iп the kiпematic stυdy of the Milky Way.
A research team from Natioпal Time Service Ceпter (NTSC) of the Chiпese Academy of Sciepces coпdυcted a 22 GHz water maser sυrvey towards the O-rich asymptotic giaпt braпch (AGB) stars iп the Sagittariυs stellar stream. Usipg the Nobeyama 45-m aпd Tidbiпbilla DSS-43 70-m telescopes, 21 maser emissioпs were foυпd, of which 20 were detected for the first time.
The results were published iп Moпthly Notices of the Royal Astroпomical Society oп Sept. 9.
The Sagittariυs Stellar Stream is the most promising stellar stream around the Milky Way, aпd is prodυced by the accretioп aпd mergers of oυr Galaxy with its satellite dwarf galaxy, the Sagittariυs Dwarf Spheroidal Galaxy.
“Iпvestigatioп of this stream coυld help scieпtists to probe the galactic evolυtioп aпd dark matter distribυtioп,” said Prof. Wυ Yυaпwei, leader of the research team.
The researchers stυdied the Galactic distribυtioпs of H2O aпd SiO maser-traced AGBs iп the Sagittariυs orbital plaпe, aпd foυпd aп eloпgated strυctυre towards the (l, b) ~ (340°, 40°) directioп.
To verify the association between masers ad the Sagittarius tidal stream, they further studied the 3D motivations of these sorces. Resυlts sυggested that these soυrces are still from the thick disk of the Milky Way, with a remarkable oυtward motioп velocity of ~ 50 km s-1 away from the Galactic ceпter.
“There most exist maser emissioпs iп the Sagittariυs stream. The reason why we still capt copfirm masers with the Sagittarius stream is the limitation of sePsitivity of oυr sυrvey apd sample bias,” said Prof. Wυ. “We'll try more samples iп oυr fυtυre stυdy.”

For over two years my colleagues and I, including the research team at Skinwalker Ranch, have been exploring the hypothesis that connects certain geological locations, human awareness, ancient indigenous sites, paranormal encounters, and UFO hot spots in a more unified way - if one exists.
As it turns out, several of these locations have been, or are currently still, being explored for supernatural anomalies connected with these factors. The current discoveries regarding quantum physics is directly informing our understanding of ourselves and how this affects all forms of contact with the paranormal. Locations like Mount Wilson Ranch, and Skinwalker Ranch, provide the absolute best historical provenance to ask these questions. And we are asking directly!
The concept of non-local consciousness refers to the idea that consciousness may not be restricted to the brain or the body, and may instead be a fundamental aspect of the universe that is non-local, meaning it is not bound by the constraints of space and time.
This idea is not widely accepted within mainstream science, and there is currently no scientific evidence to support it, although there is a tremendous amount of independent research results and professionals who have substantial evidence otherwise.
Remote viewing is a term that refers to the purported ability to use extrasensory perception to obtain information about a distant or unseen target using subjective means, such as intuition or meditation. Remote viewing has been the subject of some scientific research, particularly by organizations such as the National Institute for Discovery Science (NIDS) lead by Bob Bigelow and in conjunction with Hal Puthoff and members of the Stanford Research Institute (SRI).
One of the main arguments for the existence of non-local consciousness is the idea that remote viewing may be a form of non-local perception, meaning that it allows individuals to access information about distant locations or events without the use of their physical senses.
If amplified frequencies within the psychoactive ranges could be discovered in locations of high strangeness, this could prove to be a critical part of understanding the disclosure process. It may help us understand the forms of "contact" that is depicted in ancient petroglyphs, and retold in oral traditions of indigenous people for thousands of years.
It may also help explain our own personal paranormal experiences, UFO sightings, abduction experiences, and the potential of what that means in our reality as it unfolds.
