    What I am going to say has to do with a thread I posted "Salvation for my Dad". He died not accepting Our Lord. Infact he died an Atheist. Now on that this means he is destined for eternity in Hell. Some say that this is eterninty in torment and others say that even at this point God will have mercy in His judgement and Hell means that you have no more conciousness and are in the second death - nothingless.

    Now I come to what I am having a problem/question. In the next life there will be no more saddness or grief or sorrow. My question is (and I know it is a difficult one) squaring all this. There I will be in God's Kingdom but do I still remember this life? If I do then how do I deal with knowing my earthly dad is where he is for all eternity?

    At first my condoleances with the sad loss there was for you: the death of your dad.

    But as for the questions you had:

    - you can not for certain say your atheïst dad is now in hell. The One who speaks the final judgement is our Lord Jesus, (Matthew 25), and he knows all circumstances of this life a billion more precisely than we do. So: leave it all to him.

    Now when some people say:
    - all is torment over there
    and others
    - it is purely 'knowing nothing',
    both of them are not right.

    Luke 16, (the rich man and the poor Lazarus) teaches us, that the rich man had full consciousness about what happend to him,
    but Luke 12 v 48 teaches us:
    "The servant, who does not know (the will of his master) and does things deserving punishment, WILL BE BEATEN WITH FEW BLOWS"".

    It is up to Lord Jesus in his final judgement to judge, how the general situation with your dad is in fact.
    At any case is revealed here that there is a certain gradation in the punishment in hell.

    But your final question is the most important:
    " when I am in God's kingdom for eternity by the grace of God....will I still know about the situation of my dad".
    Isaiah 65 v 17 speaks about the future, more specially in the 'thousand years':
    " Behold, I will create
    new heavens and a new earth.
    The former things will not be remembered,
    nor will they come to mind".

    I am sure that as Iasiah says this about 'the thousand years', the heavenly glory will be more than the joy in 'the thousand years'.

    You will not remember the things of NOW, when you are THERE.
